The Truth About 7-Eleven's Famous Slurpee - Duration: 4:30.

No matter where in the world you live, you've probably heard of the iconic Slurpee, a time-honored

beverage beloved by millions.

Ready to have your brain frozen, and then have your mind blown?

Get ready to learn the untold truth of 7-Eleven's famous Slurpee.

The Slurpee's story begins in an unlikely place: a Kansas Dairy Queen with a finicky

soda fountain.

It was the late 1950s, and the Dairy Queen's owner, Omar Knedlik, took to storing bottles

of soda in the freezer when his soda fountain malfunctioned.

Whenever he accidentally left the bottles in the freezer a bit too long, sodas would

emerge from the freezer partially frozen.

To Knedlik's surprise, customers were wild about the slushy soda pops and began requesting

them specially.

Inspired, Knedlik cobbled together a machine from a car A/C unit that would churn out semi-frozen,

carbonated beverages.

Then, Knedlik partnered with an engineering firm in Dallas to perfect the design, and

began selling the newly christened ICEE machine to diners, restaurants, gas stations, and

convenience stores.

In 1965, 7-Eleven licensed the ICEE machine from Knedlik and rebranded the drink as the "Slurpee"

7-Eleven ad agency director Bob Stanford was credited with coming up with the name "Slurpee"

based on the noise the drink makes as it's sucked through a straw.

When the Slurpee first hit 7-Eleven stores, it was available in two flavors: Coca-Cola

and cherry.

By the time the 1970s rolled around, the Slurpee had expanded to 27 different flavors.

Some of their names were: For Adults Only, Red Eye, Scooby Doo, Green & Wet, and, uh...Bull

Corn?

Since the Slurpee's inception, 7-Eleven has ditched some of its more adult-sounding names,

but introduced hundreds of flavors.

In the U.S., some of the most popular flavors are Fanta Wild Cherry, Coca-Cola Classic,

Fanta Banana, Barq's Root Beer, and Mountain Dew.

Slurpees are, and always were, a cool kids drink.

From the beginning, Slurpee marketers targeted kids, teens, and young adults with psychedelic

cup designs and groovy jingles.

The grooviest of all these melodies was arguably "Dance the Slurp," a full-length jingle written

by Tom Merriman, one of America's most influential jingle composers.

It's a lively, two-minute tune that consists of funky brass music and slurping sounds,

punctuated with people occasionally exclaiming, "slurp, slurp!"

The song was released on vinyl 45 in the 1960s and handed out for free at 7-Eleven stores.

Years later, "Dance the Slurp" was remixed by Cut Chemist and DJ Shadow in their 1999

album Brainfreeze.

Today, copies of the original "Dance the Slurp" 45s can fetch a few bucks on eBay.

Remember that dark time in human history when you had spoons and you had straws, but nothing

in between to down a milkshake with?

The Slurpee solved this culinary quandary with the introduction of its signature spoon

straw.

The pioneering utensil was developed by Arthur A. Aykanian, an industrial designer who trained

as a mechanical engineer at MIT.

Since the release of the spoon straw, 7-Eleven has introduced additional, limited edition

Slurpee straws, including collectible tongue straws and Deadpool-themed straws.

Kosher is a certain type of food preparation that complies with strict Jewish laws.

Kosher rules can be pretty complex, restricting the way certain foods can be harvested, processed,

and prepared, and forbidding certain products and ingredients all together.

Considering the intricacy of kosher law, you might not have imagined that many Slurpee

flavors would meet the strict Kosher Certification guidelines, but they do — particularly,

Slurpees from kosher-certified brands like Canada Dry, Dr. Pepper, Hawaiian Punch, Squirt,

and Sunkist.

Flavors such as Coca-Cola Classic and watermelon Sour Patch are kosher, but so are plenty of

funkier picks like sugar-free lite pineapple coconut, lime, Eureka!

California, and Sprite 6 by LeBron James.

You may be familiar with 7-Eleven Day, otherwise known as "National Slurpee Day", which falls

on July 11th.

On this magical holiday, 7-Elevens across the U.S. hand out free small Slurpees from

11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

But the fun doesn't stop on July 11th: the chain celebrates the entire week of 7-Eleven

Day with promos on drinks, candy, and treats.

A lesser known, equally awesome Slurpee holiday is Bring Your Own Cup Day.

On this day, customers can fill up their own, any-size cup with Slurpee nectar for a buck-fifty.

In the past, people have gone a little wild on BYO Cup day, emerging from 7-Elevens lugging

everything from water jugs to kiddie pools filled with Slurpees.

Since then, 7-Eleven has introduced some restrictions.

"You can fill any cup of your choice for just a buck-fifty, as long as that cup is safe,

clean, water-tight, and can fit through a 10-inch diameter hole."

Still, on BYO Cup Day, you'll see creative Slurpee fans loading up with everything from

hollowed-out pineapples to Halloween pails.

Worst Jobs That Will Literally Kill You - Duration: 10:02.

Anyone who's ever worked knows that at some point a job can get stressful, but most of

us get through it and live to fight another day.

The Big Think tells us, echoing a study from the University of Manchester in England, "If

you work in a low-paying job you hate, you are likely more chronically stressed out than

if you were just unemployed."

In that case it's not only the job that causes mental stress, but the fact it pays

little money.

It might be worse at the bottom of the pay-scale when you are being screamed at all day, but

also desperately need the job.

But those at the top of the food chain have their own stresses, and some other jobs just

offer very challenging experiences.

We'll look at the worst, in this episode of the Infographics Show, Jobs that literally

make you kill yourself.

Before we start, we should tell you that we are of course talking about jobs with the

highest suicide rates.

These rates might change year-to-year and statistics will change from source to source,

and which country those sources come from.

That said, there can be no doubt the following occupations see many people taking their own

lives.

Construction Worker In the UK at least, we are told that for men

low-paid construction work has the highest suicide rate.

The Office of National Statistics reported that men doing this job are three times more

likely to take their own life than the average UK citizen.

In 2015 the people in this job represented 17 percent of all suicides in the country.

The US report from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention also said something

similar, stating that "low paid, manual laborers who face uncertain employment and

typically work on their own are prone to committing suicide."

Farmers In many reports we found, farmers were taking

their lives at a rate higher than people in other professions.

This also fell into low-skilled agricultural work in some reports.

But it's not just the laborers.

The Farm Safety Foundation, which was created to focus on the mental health of farmers in

the UK, said if you harvest crops or rear animals you are in a high suicide bracket

for farming.

It said that changing markets, disease of livestock, failing crops and even Brexit was

taking its toll on farmers.

The charity also added, "In an industry with the poorest safety record of any occupation

in the UK, stress is often a key factor in many of the accidents, injuries and illnesses

taking place on farms."

The CDC in one U.S. report, albeit a few years old, said that agricultural workers, farmers,

fishermen, lumberjacks, had a suicide rate of a staggering 85 per 100,000.

This is compared to the average rate of 21.3.

Factory work A lot of mind-numbing work we may have done

in the past is now automated.

Imagine standing on a conveyor belt production line for eight hours or more?

The UK office of national statistics calls this work "process plant occupations",

but that could mean many jobs.

Still, if your job falls into that category you have much more chance of committing suicide

than the average UK citizen.

The CDC puts "Production and factory workers" high, too, with a suicide rate of 35 per 100,000.

We might remember those stories a few years ago about suicide nets being installed at

Foxconn in China where iPhone components are made and the phones are put together.

The Guardian reported, "Worker after worker threw themselves off the towering dorm buildings,

sometimes in broad daylight, in tragic displays of desperation – and in protest at the work

conditions inside."

It said in one year at one plant, 14 people died from jumping and 20 others had to be

talked down.

Police officers A career website tells us that many cops kill

themselves due to job stress.

This comes from a 2018 article in Men's Health.

It wrote that according to a 2018 study from the Ruderman Family Foundation the number

of cops that killed themselves when the data was compiled was three times more than those

killed in the line of duty.

According to the article, cops killing themselves is just getting worse in the USA.

Long hours, daily stress dealing with danger, and the tough guys don't like to talk about

stress apparently.

The article said this about stressed and depressed cops, "Many are haunted by the pervasive

fear that undergoing treatment will have professional repercussions, such as them being passed over

for promotions or removed from patrol work on the street."

One cop, called Al Hernandez, said that over his 35-year career at the Fresno Police Department

in California, 14 of his colleagues had taken their life.

But that rate seemed high compared with other reports.

A police website we found does say the rate is too high, but 2016 was a good year, as

that year just a few more men died in the line of duty than killed themselves.

Still, police life might not exactly portray Lethal Weapon, as other jobs can be much more

stressful.

The CDC says people in the category of "Firefighters, police, corrections workers, others in protective

services" have a suicide rate of 31 per 100,000.

Bankers Why are so many bankers killing themselves,

asked the New York Post.

The CDC says stockbrokers are also killing themselves at an unusually high rate.

There are many reports about this, from Hong Kong to New York to London.

"An investment banker at JP Morgan jumped to his death from the roof of the bank's

headquarters in Central yesterday," wrote a Hong Kong newspaper.

"Deutsche Bank executive Broeksmit was found dead at his South Kensington home after police

responded to reports of a man found hanging at a house," wrote the UK media in 2014.

He had hanged himself in an apartment that cost $4,500,000 in 2000.

It's hard right at the top, too.

In 2016 Martin Senn, the former Chief Executive of Zurich Insurance, took his own life after

a takeover bid didn't work out and the company saw some heavy losses.

Soldiers We all handle stress differently, but witnessing

the ravages of war doesn't sit well with even the toughest or most impassive of us.

In fact, the stats are very disturbing if you believe the United States Department of

Veterans Affairs.

It said in 2016, 20 veterans killed themselves every day.

This was 18 percent of suicides in the USA, but military vets only make up 8 percent of

the population.

This is much higher than the average in the USA, and while most of the jobs we have discussed

up until now were filled by males, women in the military kill themselves at a high rate,

too.

According to one Academic research paper we found, the rate has climbed much higher since

2005.

U.S. veterans magazine backs that up, stating, "There's clearly a serious issue with

suicides among active duty military service members, veterans and their families, and

it's one that we are passionate about addressing."

This was a quote in the article from a charity that helped U.S. veterans.

Creatives The CDC puts many jobs in one category, those

of "artists, designers, entertainers, athletes, media."

Well, we all know about the tormented artist, and so many of them either doing what Kurt

Cobain did or virtually drinking themselves to death like Amy Winehouse.

According to statistics, if you are in this line of work you are much more likely to commit

suicide.

The Telegraph tells us that "tortured geniuses" have a much higher chance of killing themselves

than the average dullard.

Whether it's Hunter S. Thompson with a 45.

Caliber handgun or Virginia Woolf walking into a river with stones in her pockets, it

seems that having natural intelligence and hyper-sensitivity can be a hard thing.

Woolf wrote in her suicide note.

"I begin to hear voices, and I can't concentrate.

So, I am doing what seems the best thing to do."

But it's in the statistics, too, with one report telling us, "For the first time reliable

data has shown that the suicide rate among people working in creative roles is significantly

higher than the national average."

Care workers This is high for both men and women, with

UK statistics telling us care workers are twice as likely to kill themselves as the

average person working in the country.

It depends what kind of care, but reports state that in the UK many people such as physicians

simply burn-out from the number of hours they work.

The Lancet tells us, "The rate of depressive disorders among health-care workers compared

with the general population is alarming."

It's the same in the U.S. according to The Hill.

One article opens with, "As America focuses on one epidemic — the opioid crisis — another

goes entirely ignored."

That's the mental health of care workers.

The article was written by a health care worker in 2018.

Amazingly, she wrote, "I have lost six colleagues to suicide — five physicians and one physician

assistant."

She wrote that those hardly in the game, the junior doctors, were depressed and suicide

risks.

She also said that while the police and military are now realizing suicide is a big problem,

strategies need to be developed to protect health care workers.

We could have added many more jobs to this list, and as we said, stats differ from source

to source and from country to country.

So, why not tell us in the comments another job you think is the most stressful.

How This Cat Survived A 32-Story Fall - Duration: 3:16.

Narrator: 32 stories above the streets of New York City,

a cat fell from a window and lived.

After vets treated the cat's chipped tooth

and collapsed lungs,

the feline was sent home two days later.

Cats fall a lot,

and they've gotten really good at it.

Drop a cat upside down, for example,

and it will almost always land on its feet.

That's because cats are extremely flexible.

They can twist their bodies mid-air as they fall.

But landing feet first isn't always the best strategy.

Like if you're falling from 32 stories up.

To figure out how cats manage

that perfect landing every time,

a series of studies looked at

over a 100 cats' falls

from two to 32 stories up.

Comes as no surprise that cats

who fell from the second floor

had fewer injuries

than cats who fell from the sixth floor.

But here is the fascinating part.

Above the seventh story,

the extent of the injuries largely stayed the same,

no matter how high the cats fell.

So, how is that possible?

Well, it all comes down to acrobatics

or lack thereof.

Cats that fell from two to seven stories up

mostly landed feet-first.

Above that, however, cats used a different technique.

Instead of positioning their legs

straight down as they fell,

they splayed out like a parachuter.

And landed belly-first instead.

But this method isn't 100% foolproof.

Chest trauma, like a collapsed lung,

or broken rib is more common with this landing method.

But the risk of breaking a leg is much less.

So, how do cats somehow

subconsciously know how to land?

It has to do with a physics phenomenon

called terminal velocity.

At first, the cat plummets faster and faster under gravity

until she's fallen the equivalent of five stories.

At that point, she hits constant terminal velocity

at 100 kilometers per hour.

She's now in free fall

where air friction counteracts her acceleration

under gravity.

At this point, she's no longer accelerating

and, more importantly,

doesn't feel the pull from gravity.

So, here's what researchers think is happening.

From two to seven stories up,

cats don't have enough time to reach terminal velocity

and prep for landing feet first.

But once they hit terminal velocity,

their instinct changes and they parachute their limbs.

All that said, don't throw your cat out of a window.

I can't believe I have to say this.

Not only is it still very dangerous,

it's not very polite.

Don't throw your cat out the window

just to see all that go down.

Just watch this video again.

Just hit the little replay button.

Where Did Werewolf Myths Come From? - Duration: 5:06.

[♪ INTRO]

It's Halloween this week, so we're bringing the science to the supernatural.

And this episode is all about our favorite furry frights: werewolves.

Werewolf stories date back at least to the Ancient Greeks,

and they were pretty widespread in Europe. You can find them in Nordic and Celtic mythologies, for example.

And we're still fascinated by werewolves, just ask Team Jacob.

While turning into a wolf is definitely not a thing people do, these myths don't come from nowhere.

The idea that a bite could make someone behave strangely or that people could grow thick fur

could have come from real scientific phenomena, specifically, a misunderstanding of certain illnesses.

The notion that a bite can turn man into beast could have come from rabies, for example.

Rabies is caused by a virus that infects the central nervous system and salivary glands.

And like many were-myths, it's transmitted by the bite of an infected creature.

People infected with the virus become agitated and behave very strangely.

They may hallucinate and suffer from insomnia.

Those symptoms arise because the virus harms brain cells and interferes with the chemicals

that neurons use to communicate with each other.

For example, it can mess with the levels of serotonin, a chemical involved in controlling

the sleep cycle, feeling pain, and behaviors like aggression.

In later stages of infection, the virus invades the salivary glands,

sometimes causing excessive salivation.

And that saliva contains transmissible viruses, so if the person bites someone else,

they can pass along the virus.

Though, human to human transmission of rabies is rare.

Our teeth aren't particularly sharp and we rarely bite hard enough to break skin.

Mammals with pointy canine teeth are much more efficient.

And rabies is a life-threatening illness.

If a patient isn't treated with antivirals and the vaccine before the virus settles in,

infections are almost always fatal.

Put yourself in the shoes of a rural farmer in medieval Europe.

An oddly-behaving, aggressive dog shows up in your village and bites your neighbor.

Then, your neighbor begins acting strangely, as well.

They're agitated, maybe even aggressive, and foaming at the mouth like that scary dog was,

and then they die.

Back before we understood what a virus was or how they work,

a werewolf was as good an explanation as any for how a bite could make a person change like that,

especially if you'd heard rumors about people with wolf-like appearances.

Such rumors could have come from real medical conditions like

Congenital Hypertrichosis terminalis: the excessive growth of pigmented hair due to a genetic abnormality.

In the past it was literally called "werewolf syndrome" because people with it grow unusually

thick, and somewhat fur-like hair on their face and body.

The condition is extremely rare, though.

Doctors have documented less than 100 cases since the middle ages.

And because of that, it's been hard to study.

It took almost two decades to suss out what causes the condition in one well-studied family, for example.

In 1984 it was clear they had some kind of mutation on the X chromosome.

The location was narrowed to a specific region of the X chromosome in 1995,

but it wasn't until 2011 that researchers figured out exactly what was happening to the DNA.

Turns out, an insertion of DNA in that exact spot

alters the expression of a gene called SOX3, which is involved in hair growth.

The gene becomes over-expressed and expressed in places where it shouldn't be,

leading to extra-thick body hair and hair growth on parts of the body that are usually hairless,

like a person's eyelids.

Extra hair isn't really harmful on its own, though the condition is frequently associated

with other genetic abnormalities that can cause health or development problems.

But humans are often unkind to people who look different,

so the disorder can have a major psychological toll.

People with congenital hypertrichosis used to be called "wolf men"

and were often featured at fairs or in circus sideshows. Which is horrible.

But way back before then, their existence could have easily fueled werewolf stories.

Some of those stories may have even been started by people who actually believed they were werewolves.

People with what psychologists call lycanthropy may not look like wolves, but they think they do.

They insist their body has changed, that their canine teeth have gotten longer and pointier

and their body hair has gotten thicker.

They may even begin to behave like a wolf,

running around on all-fours, howling, and demanding meals of raw meat.

That's because lycanthropy is a kind of Delusional Misidentification Syndrome,

a type of psychological condition where a person, well, 'misidentifies' things.

Basically, something's gone awry in the part of their brain that recognizes their

physical body, causing them to think they've become a wolf.

If you didn't know much about mental illness, if you were living in medieval Europe,

for example, it would be very unnerving if someone began behaving like a wolf

and insisting they had grown sharp teeth and large pointy ears.

It's not hard to see why you might think they were under the influence of a supernatural entity.

But the actual causes of delusional misidentification syndromes remain a bit of a mystery.

They're rare and usually associated with schizophrenia, major mood disorders,

or injuries due to stroke or trauma, especially ones that occur in the right frontal lobe of the brain.

But scientists are only just beginning to understand how our brain constructs

what we know as our physical self.

In the meantime, doctors can help people with lycanthropy with antipsychotic medications.

Similarly, there are a lot of options like cosmetic hair removal

that can help people manage congenital hypertrichosis.

So nowadays, we know that conditions like lycanthropy or hypertrichosis

which could have spurred werewolf myths are nothing to fear.

But you can still be scared of rabies.

That is a virus you really don't want to mess with.

Thanks for watching this episode of SciShow!

If you enjoyed learning about the very real diseases that might have inspired werewolf myths,

Avengers 4 MAJOR SHAKE UP TURNING POINT REVEALED! The MCU Will CHANGE FOREVER!! - Duration: 5:27.

what is up YouTube Warstu here with a video on Avengers 4 if you're

new channel make sure to subscribe to enter the competition point infinity

war blu-ray copy of a Deadpool super uber 2 edition or you gotta drop down

below who is your favorite superhero so we have a very interesting video today

and I think it reveals the most out everything have all the pot leaks have

all the leaked toy the Lego the quantum realm suit this reveals the absolute

most in my opinion but you've got to read it carefully so it's coming from an

Avengers for art book the road to Avengers 4 so the product description

reads like this the fourth installment in the Avenger saga will be the

combination of 22 interconnected films and will Alette oriented witness the

turning point of this epic journey now I don't think everyone's ready for it

because I keep saying Avengers 4 you're not ready for it you don't know what's

coming so the turning point then if you read the untitled Avengers 4 synopsis it

reads like this a combination of 22 films the fourth installment Avengers

saga will draw the audience to witness a turning point of this epic journey so I

think this means the turning point of the whole of the MCU like nothing is

going to be different after this because everyone's thinking the finger-snap

nothing can get worse and as scarlet witch said Elizabeth Olsen said it's

gonna get worse so the turning point this is mean everything going forward we

know we're getting a Turtles movie in 2020 I think is we know it's going

cosmic we know the quantum realm due to the lego plot Lego leaked I guess you

could say the quantum realm is going to be very important we know juice -

Captain Marvel the quantum realm is going to be very important so I don't

think that everyone's going to return it like everyone thinks it's gonna be a

turning point to the point where it's not gonna be the MCU you know so prepare

yourself then it goes on to say this this collectible volume it features art

from the film leading up to this in an event including additional

behind-the-scenes our interviews and photography from Avengers infinity war

then if you read the rest of the synopsis for Avengers 4 it's like our

beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the

sacrifices that must be made to uphold it so I honestly think like yeah

obviously some characters gonna come back but I honestly think people like

Captain America and a man could be done with the MCU because we're going cosmic

they're introducing Captain Marvel next year in captain miles movie series gonna

become a big thing in the MCU so I honestly think this turning point is

gonna be a whole different franchise even inside the same franchise as the

other view but it's gonna be completely different because if they're going

cosmic you can't really have a Captain America movie or an Iron Man movie

everything's going cosmic we know we're getting the Eternals we know they're

gonna introduce the Fantastic Four the x-men everything's gonna change so this

is a massive spoiler if you read between the lines then if you go on to read it

says after the desert devastating effects on Avengers infinity war the

universe is in ruins due to the effects of the mad Titan phallus with the help

of the remaining allies the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo

phalluses action and restore in order to be the universe for once and for all

no matter what consequences may be installed so I believe that the turning

point is gonna be you're not expecting what this movie is gonna be because

everyone thinks they know it's time travel it's quantum well and travel it's

going back in time but isn't really because they keep saying you've got no

idea what's coming so I really think what's actually happening is the MTU is

going to change so much to a point where most general audience won't even notice

what's going on and this is coming from an official art book that will be

released so I think Marvel are about to do one on the fans and just like an

infinity war most people didn't think half the universe will be raised we are

not going to see his coming so I think this is a massive spoiler what is his

turning point the turning point is the empty you will never be the same again

there's gonna be different characters coming in there's gonna be characters

dying it's gonna be a very interesting time to be a Marvel fan obviously going

cosmic is gonna be very different because a staff hasn't really been many

cosmic storylines I mean except for Gardens the galaxy stories and I guess

you could kind of say Thor in ways there's not really be many cosmic

entities so the Eternals movie is gonna be very interesting as we know

spider-man far from home is the first movie to be poster venues for but it's

not really cosmic at all so guys and let me know do you agree with the turning

point it's gonna absolutely catch us off-guard and it's gonna be something

completely different and be like whoa this is not the MT we know so this is a

massive spoiler in my opinion anyway guys please like subscribe and comment

Minccino: The CHINCHILLA Pokemon ft. HYBRIDHERO?! - Got A Minute? - Duration: 1:05.

If you're looking for a janitor with diligence and spunk, Minccino are the perfect Pokemon

for the job.

When these little chinchillas notice any filth, they're quick to whip out their tails and

begin brushing away.

Despite their Cute Charm, they're recognized as true Technicians and know how to put their

brushes to work on the battlefield: smacking around foes up to five times in a single turn

with their signature Tail Slaps.

Those fluffy brooms are integral to their social lives, too, as they're also used to

stroke down the fur of their friends.

Minccino can only groom one another after they've handled their own cleanliness, though.

Once they've mopped up a mess, they track down the closest spring they can find and

invest entire days into washing out the muck from their tails.

Their obsession with keeping things clean is a bit compulsive, but show them a stone

that's already polished to perfection, and you'll see that these little fellows can really

shine!

The Actress Who Plays L3-37 In Solo Is Gorgeous In Real Life - Duration: 7:45.

L3-37, the droid from Solo: A Star Wars Story, is more known for her spunk than her good looks.

But in real life, she's played by the gorgeous and accomplished British playwright Phoebe

Waller-Bridge.

Here's a look at some of her other work.

Stage to screen

Born in West London in 1985, Phoebe Waller-Bridge first came to prominence as a stage performer,

making her debut in 2009 at London's Soho Theatre.

She started out as strictly a performer, but soon branched out to writing and directing

her own plays.

As her stage work received more attention, Waller-Bridge also began a career on screen

with small appearances in TV shows and movies, starting with bit parts in films like The

Iron Lady and Albert Nobbs.

Her first major breakthrough came when she joined the award-winning series Broadchurch

during its second season, playing a straight-laced junior barrister named Abby Thompson.

The series significantly raised her profile as an on-screen talent on the international

stage.

"I looked through the file on the way up the train.

There are discrepancies."

"What sort of discrepancies?"

"Your sort."

One-woman show

As Phoebe Waller-Bridge began scoring better and more substantial roles in films and television,

her stage career continued to grow as well.

According to The Guardian, she and friend Vicki Jones founded the theater company DryWrite

in 2007.

As part of the company, Waller-Bridge wrote and produced a series of short plays called

Good.

Clean.

Fun. in 2014.

Waller-Bridge's most consequential creation during this time was a one-woman show called

Fleabag, which she wrote and first performed in 2013.

The stage production proved a great success, making a major impression for its tone of

filthy frankness.

Even as Waller-Bridge became more successful in other arenas, the stage version of Fleabag

continued to tour around the United Kingdom and beyond, eventually featuring other actresses

in the role.

The success of Fleabag and other projects brought Waller-Bridge her first serious awards

attention, winning a Stage Award for Best Solo Performance for Fleabag, and the distinction

of Most Promising Playwright from the Critics Circle Theatre Awards in 2013.

Crashing into notoriety

In 2016, Phoebe Waller-Bridge took to TV with the comedy series Crashing, which she created

and starred in.

The six-episode series centers on a group of young Londoners living together in an out-of-use

hospital as sanctioned "property guardians," providing "live-in security" for the abandoned

building in exchange for reduced rent.

Waller-Bridge played Lulu, a ukulele-wielding weirdo trying to carve out a place for herself

in an unconventional environment.

"Uh, homeless people!"

"I sometimes feel bad if they have scabs on their faces-oh!"

"What?"

"I think my tampon just came out a bit."

Waller-Bridge has said that the series showcases the compromises young people make in order

to make a living in a big city.

She told the Guardian,

"Six people in their 20s living in a flat - that kind of Friends set-up – is not really

relatable anymore.

Everyone I know is struggling with where to live.

It's just become part of reality that most people don't expect to be owning their own

place by the time they're 30 any more."

World-famous Fleabag

Although Crashing was a strong start, Phoebe Waller-Bridge's major career breakthrough

happened largely thanks to her next project, Fleabag, a television adaptation of her one-woman

show of the same name.

The show portrays the performer as a nameless young woman referred to only as Fleabag, navigating

life in London in a frank and profane way.

"My farts used to be like 'pah', and now they're just sort of fighting their way out."

"I haven't farted in about three years."

The six-episode show won a large number of awards both for the production as a whole

and for Waller-Bridge herself, who was lauded for her writing and her performance.

Naturally, a second season was commissioned and is in the works for a 2019 release.

Killing Eve

In 2016, Phoebe Waller-Bridge was hired to develop a TV series adaptation of the Luke

Jennings-written novella series, Codename Villanelle.

The result was the eight-episode series Killing Eve.

The series stars Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer as a government agent and assassin wrapped

up with each other in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Killing Eve premiered in April 2018 to massive critical success, with specific praise for

the series' tension, humor, and off-beat tone.

"Did you have a party or something?"

A second season of the series is in the works, although Waller-Bridge has announced that

she'll be stepping back from her role as lead writer to simply be an executive producer

for the next season.

L3-37 lifestyle

It was more than just a thriller show that made 2018 Phoebe Waller-Bridge's biggest year

yet.

In May, she starred in Solo: A Star Wars Story, bringing the droid pilot L3-37 to life with

biting wit and energy.

The character, a one-of-a-kind independent robot, was one of the more notable creations

of the Star Wars spinoff.

L3-37 was created via a combination of CGI, motion-capture, and live-action effects, with

Waller-Bridge standing in for the wiry droid that would take her place in the final movie.

She spent the production in full-body suits with plastic robot parts attached to her frame,

which gave her a real physical presence in the movie.

The human element

Phoebe Waller-Bridge didn't get her role in Star Wars thanks to any passionate fandom

for the series.

On the contrary, she earned the role despite a lifelong indifference to the franchise.

Prior to scoring her part in Solo, Waller-Bridge had never seen a Star Wars movie.

You'd think that that lack of knowledge would make an audition for the series stressful

enough, but it turns out that Waller-Bridge took things a step further.

On the Graham Norton show, she revealed that her lack of Star Wars knowledge almost ruined

her audition.

"This character's amazing, she's a revolutionary, she's really cool, and the dialogue was amazing.

But it kind of said just in one of the stage directions, 'droid.'

So I was like, 'droid, droid…

What's a droid?'"

Waller-Bridge says she didn't put the robotic nature of her character's identity together

until she was already in the middle of performing the audition.

After delivering a very human take on the character, she was asked if she could try

it more "droidy," at which point she said she realized,

"It's a f---ing robot."

Doctor...

Who?

Star Wars isn't the only geek property that Phoebe Waller-Bridge's name has been attached

to.

Following the success of the Fleabag TV series, rumors swirled that Waller-Bridge would next

make history as the first female to play the role of the Doctor in the beloved British

program Doctor Who.

The rumors began after the Twelfth Doctor, Peter Capaldi, announced that he would be

leaving the series in 2017.

Some fans, having long argued for a woman in the role after decades of male Doctors,

began speculating that the Fleabag star would cash in on her newfound notoriety by taking

over the role.

Bookmakers in the UK took bets on who would replace Capaldi, and Waller-Bridge was a favorite

for the role.

The role ultimately ended up going to Jodie Whittaker, who previously starred with Waller-Bridge

on Broadchurch.

"You're a woman?"

"Am I?

Does it suit me?"

Regardless, Waller-Bridge didn't take the decision as a snub.

She told TV Guide,

"[It was] so cool to have my name in that mix."

The next job

Post-Solo, the future seems to be full of opportunity for Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

While the underperforming Star Wars movie isn't currently slated for a direct sequel,

that doesn't really matter for Waller-Bridge.

Her true purpose is returning to the series that gave her such a global platform in the

first place, working to write and produce the next season of Fleabag.

2018 also saw some changes in Waller-Bridge's personal life, as she divorced her husband

of four years and began dating In Bruges director Martin McDonagh.

Speaking in an interview with The Guardian, she said she plans to follow the second season

of Fleabag with an extended break, the first she's taken since her career took off.

"Since Fleabag, I've been in a bedroom under a duvet, writing."

Now that she's reached a place of success, she's finally ready to enjoy it, travel the

world, relax, and seek inspiration for new projects to come.

"Jogging."

SYSTEMS OF EQUATIONS » the graphing method | Math Hacks - Duration: 6:54.

Hey there i'm brett and today we are diving into systems of equations

Today's lesson is part one of a three-part series on

systems of equations, so make sure that you subscribe to the channel to get access to all three parts of this series and

Without further ado. Let's jump in to part 1 an

Introduction to systems of equations and the graphing method. so soon enough you're going to learn how to solve these problems

algebraically using the substitution or elimination method

But before we learn that I think it's really nice to just begin

With the most basic form of solving these problems, which is through graphing.

so a system of equation simply means that we have multiple equations and we want to find

The coordinate point where they intersect. it

seems that if you want to find where they intersect we could just graph both lines on a coordinate axis and

Read off their intersection point and that is what we're going to do today

So as I've talked about before the easiest way to graph a linear equation is from slope-intercept form

So it looks like this second equation here is already in slope-intercept form

But the first one isn't so I'm going to go ahead and subtract x over so that I have Y isolated

Now I can simply go ahead and plot both of these lines on a coordinate axis

So I'll plot this line first and next let's plot this line

Our answer is the place where the two lines intersect and if our equations are nice to us that will be on a whole number

Interval, which it is in this problem. So it looks like it's at the point (1,0).

So that's our solution to this problem

So in our next problem here

We have 4x minus 3y equals 18 and y equals negative 2 and we want to find where these two points intersect of

Course if we knew the substitution method, this would be a great candidate for it

But right now we're doing it longhand so we can see visually what is going on

So what I need to do here is just solve for y in our first equation to get it into slope-intercept form

and then I will graph up both of these lines on the same coordinate plane like I did before and

We will read off where they intersect

So to plot this line, I'll mark it on the y axis at negative six and give it a slope of 4/3

The other line we need to graph is y equals negative 2 what this means is that we have a line

Where every single point has a y value of negative 2. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go to the y-axis

find

where negative 2 is so 1 2 down and then every

Point that has that as a y-coordinate is on this line. So basically it's going to be all of these points

so what we get here is a horizontal line and

You can just remember that anytime you have y equals a constant. It creates a horizontal line and

Our intersection point is right here

And that is the point 1 2 3 on the x-axis and down negative 2 on the Y

The last thing I want to talk to you about is some special cases you might run into when solving systems of equations and

you can't tell yet, but

Number three is going to be one of those special cases. So we're going to start just like we've started all the problems before and

Rewrite both of these equations and slope-intercept form

So what you might notice now is that both of these lines have slopes of positive 4 and

That implies that these lines are parallel because remember how parallel lines

Always have identical slopes because they are traveling in the exact same direction and if they're traveling in the exact same direction

They never cross. So there is no intersection point here. I could graph these but you would see that they're just two parallel lines

One crossing the y-axis at negative 2 the other crossing the y-axis at positive 3 and they never intersect

So when you come across this situation

You can immediately say that there is no solution

Once again, I'm going to begin by taking both equations and rewriting them each in slope-intercept form

After changing both of these equations into slope-intercept form we see something very interesting

We see that they both reduce down to the exact same equation

We have y equals 1/2 X minus 2

So what this means is that I have this line y equals 1/2 X minus 2

Graphed and graphed on top of it is the exact same line

so what this means for our systems of equations is that the solution is

every single point on those lines because one line is graphed on top of the other and

How you see this in words is that you say it has infinitely many solutions

Now that you have a grasp for what systems of equations are and what they mean on a graph you are ready to solve them

Algebraically on the next episode of Math Hacks we are going to be looking at how to solve systems of equations

using the substitution method.

So make sure to subscribe to the channel and follow me on social media to stay up to date. till next time

I'm Brett and thank you for joining me.

Leaked Schedule Shows Trump Watches Fox News Almost All Day Long - Duration: 5:23.

Donald Trump is officially the Fox News President.

And it's not just that he spreads the conspiracy theory and horrible right wing false talking

points that he hears on the network.

It's not just that he speaks to Fox News hosts on the phone and get their ideas about what

he should do in terms of policy, it's the fact that the man spends three times more

of his time each day watching Fox News than doing any actual work.

And that's actually according to a leaked presidential schedule that the folks at Politico

got their hands on.

Specifically looking at last Tuesday, Donald Trump spent close to nine hours, during his

executive time, 'cause he just had an exorbitant amount of executive time that day, nine hours

watching cable news, which is mostly Fox News, and tweeting, and talking on the phone to

his buddies, nine hours.

He spent three hours that day in meetings and doing other presidential things.

So nine hours watching TV and tweeting, versus three hours of doing actual work.

Now, let me ask everybody watching this, if you're at your job and let's say you're working

a 12-hour shift, you spend the first 9 hours watching TV and playing on your phone, last

3 hours actually doing some work, are you still gonna have a job tomorrow?

Because I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

That's not how it works.

And what's even more dangerous is who the President is talking to and what the president

is watching.

If he just wanted to sit there and take a nap for nine hours instead of working, that

would be far less damaging to this country.

But instead he's spending it on Twitter, spreading conspiracy theories, spreading hate and division,

while also watching network news on Fox News that does the exact same thing.

He watches them, he gets ideas, he creates even crazier conspiracy theories in his head,

and he tweets them out to the public who eat them up, and then they decide to go and act

and do a horrible unspeakable thing based on what the President tweeted, which is based

on what he watched on Fox News.

This is absolutely dangerous.

And yes, Donald Trump is dangerous when he's actually doing his presidential duties.

But there has to be a line somewhere.

This man cannot just consist or exist on a steady diet of conspiracy and hate coming

from Fox News, because that then bleeds over into his rallies, into his policies, into

his executive orders, and into his tweets.

And his hungry base, his hungry, angry, hate-filled base eats those up.

They live for it, they love it.

And they internalize that hate and that anger, they believe the conspiracy theories as if

it came from the Gospel itself, and that's when they decide to go do something crazy.

We saw it too many times happen just in the last seven days.

And as long as the President spends more time watching Fox News and tweeting than he does

actually working, getting off his phone, getting off his butt and doing something, the worse

things are going to get here in the United States.

And the only possible solution is to get out there, vote in these mid-terms, switch the

balance of power in Congress, so that maybe we can hold this man accountable to the point

where we might actually be able to remove him from office.

He's still a very very young boy." Martial arrived from Monaco and has already made 236 senior appearances

"He's scored a lot of goals but not at a great ratio - especially not the ratio you expect of great modern wide players," Neville continued

"He finishes well - he makes difficult finishes look really simple. He was brilliant against Chelsea, we saw one yesterday against Everton

"He's got power and pace and when he cuts inside he can hit a ball. "When you give the ball to his feet - just to his feet - he comes alive

" When asked whether he is worth handing a lucrative contract too, Neville added: "Manchester United have to show patience with this lad

"He'll be on 20/25 goals a season for United… So they have to invest in him. "Jose Mourinho's wanted a player who's ready now to win a league, and he's not ready now, there's no doubt about that

But he can go to another level."

This morning my rose bloomed,

I watched the rose and I started to cry.

My rose I gave you my youth,

I watered you with my tears.

My rose I gave you my youth,

I watered you with my tears.

How many times I kissed you,

yet, while you were a small bud.

I drank dew from your branches,

instead of the lips of my beloved.

Corrie star fears Dr Ali will be killed off as he confirms big NYE storyline - Daily News - Duration: 2:59.

Coronation Street actor James Burrows has admitted that he fears his character Dr Ali will be killed off after murdering drug dealer Ronan

The 27-year-old, who is expecting his first child with girlfriend Sophie Coates, said that he hoped the doctor wouldn't become the next cobbles murderer who would get his own just deserts

He also teased that Dr Ali could play a big part in this year's New Year's Eve storyline

Speaking to Mirror TV at the Inside Soap Awards last week, he opened up about how Dr Ali would be left struggling over the next few months

He said: "I have no idea where they'll take the character but I'm quite excited, I like being in the dark about it

But I don't know - I don't really want to see Ali being the new mass murderer and get killed off or whatever but we'll see

"  But James insisted that he didn't feel that his character was inherently bad.  "You can tell he's got a good soul, he's got a good heart, he's from a good family, he's been studying to be a doctor for the past seven or eight years and I think he's done something an instantly regretted it," he said

"You've seen that on screen, deep down he's a good guy."  Opening up about upcoming scenes for Ali, James said: "He's on an emotional rollercoaster for the next two weeks, there's a lot going on in his head

"  Questioned whether the scenes would play into what happens at Christmas, James explained: "Yeah, a little bit

It'll start to fade out and become a little bit better. Because I've got a little bit of time off work I'm not really in the Christmas bits

I'll be back in in the New Year."  Asked to confirm that his big storyline would play out in the New Year, the actor said: "Yeah, exactly

So yeah, we'll see what happens."  Exciting.   *Coronation Street airs tonight at 7

Sergey Lavrov's Interview with Moscow. Kremlin. Putin (Reality Show) - Duration: 31:25.

[Vladimir Solovyov] Mr. Lavrov, good afternoon.

Good afternoon.

Why did Mr Bolton come to Moscow?

To talk.

There are many matters we need to discuss.

We appreciate it that it is US National Security Adviser John Bolton who is especially proactive regarding ties with his colleagues in Moscow.

Is this a joke?

Not at all.

Actually, we have meetings with Mr Bolton more often than with our other colleagues.

He was here in July, and now he is back again.

In between, he met with Secretary of Russia's Security Council Nikolai Patrushev in Geneva.

We believe that it is important when such a high-ranking official takes interest in the practical matters on our bilateral agenda.

But it is surprising that only the US National Security Adviser meets with Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and President Vladimir Putin.

Are there no other officials in the US administration?

Can only Mr Bolton take the responsibility?

I do not know what is taking place there.

This situation is probably indicative of something.

Maybe they have divided the responsibilities or have decided that Secretary of State Michael Pompeo will be responsible for North Korea, primarily the preparations for the next summit.

Nobody else appears to be deeply involved with foreign policy. Defence Secretary James Mattis and Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu met on the sidelines of the ASEAN events in Singapore, where they shook hands and expressed readiness to communicate.

End of story.

However, you had a meeting with John Bolton.

You have known him well for quite a few years I think?

Yes, we first met in the late 1990s, when I was still working in Moscow before my appointment to New York.

I was a director of the department of international organisations– they were called directorates back then, while Mr Bolton was responsible for matters related to the UN at the State Department.

Later we met at the UN when I was Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN and he was an Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security.

He delivered bad news in 2001, when he told us that the Americans were pulling out of the ABM Treaty.

This does not mean that the messenger is to blame.

The decision was made by the US administration.

In reply to our warning of the dangers of pulling out of the ABM Treaty, George W. Bush told Vladimir Putin that this decision is not spearheaded against us and that they do not see us as a threat.

They said that if we decided we should take any response measures as well, they would not consider them to be spearheaded against the United States either.

This is how it all began.

During a meeting with the National Security Advisor to the US President, President Vladimir Putin said, when the discussion turned to arms control, that this fairly bad cycle started with the US leaving the ABM Treaty, which forced us to start manufacturing weapons to ensure parity

and this precluded the deployment of the US global missile defence system to jeopardise our security and the very existence of our strategic nuclear deterrent forces.

Withdrawal from the INF Treaty has not yet been officially announced, but the intention was expressed.

We could see from the talks in Moscow, including during President Putin's meeting with National Security Advisor John Bolton, that this decision has been made and will be formalised either very soon, or 30-45 days from now.

Then, the six-month countdown will begin, which is stipulated by the INF Treaty, and after the six months following the official submission of the termination document, the treaty ceases to be valid for the initiating party and the other party.

We discussed this openly and pragmatically, without emotions. Indeed, this is a negative development, and the President said as much several times yesterday in other speeches.

At the news conference with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, the President said that it would be bad if the current sentiment in the US administration affects, first, withdrawal from the INF Treaty, and second, makes the parties to the START Treaty, which expires in 2021, wonder whether they should renew it or not.

Should this scenario materialise, there will be no legal framework for curbing an arms race.

When he talks about the arms race, President Putin always emphasises that we will be forced to respond to adverse changes in the strategic situation.

However, we will never do so using the costly methods the Soviet Union did, which went to the extreme, severely undermining its economic and financial resources.

You and John Bolton talked for 90 minutes.

He has not brought you any olives.

We have not received any olives from the olive branch the American eagle is holding.

Actually, we prefer gherkins to olives.

I cannot imagine John Bolton bringing us any gherkins.

What can be the subject of a 90-minute long conversation with a person who built his career on the assumption that nothing must be allowed to contain the military potential of the United States, and who has always been against all these treaties?

You should talk with anyone who holds his post, who is trusted by his superiors and who pursues their line.

It is rumoured that John Bolton played a key role in convincing President Donald Trump to withdraw from this arms control treaty.

I do not know about the inner workings in Washington.

Still, I believe that Secretary of State Pompeo and Defence Secretary Mattis were involved in this discussion.

This is obvious to me.

It is a fact that the decision has been taken and is being implemented.

I repeat that the situation was discussed in the Kremlin without any undue emotions; we did not talk about who had set the ball rolling

We are grownup people who know that our opinion concerning the situation differs from that of the Americans, who say that the main reason for their decision is our failure to comply with the INF Treaty.

You have even supplied them with the technical specifications of the missile.

It has been said for years that a missile specified as the 9M729 has been tested for use at a range that is prohibited under the INF Treaty.

They have been telling us about this for years.

Initially, they did not even identify the class of the missile they were referring to, saying simply that we have allegedly tested it and that we must tell them why we did this and stop doing this.

Since then, we kept asking for facts in all possible formats, including at the Special Verification Commission that was established to monitor the sides' compliance with the treaty.

If they are sure that we flight-tested a missile in violation of range specifications, this can only mean that their satellites have spotted the missile's flight.

We wanted to see the photographs to see what they meant.

In this manner we fought for each little minor detail.

First they gave the missile's number.

Then they said we held two tests, told us the days when these tests took place, and said that they had been launched from Kapustin Yar.

A week ago, barely a few days before the Americans announced their decision to withdraw from the INF Treaty they had sent us, through their embassy in Moscow, a long list of questions of concern to them.

We received the list, at long last, in reply to our request that they tell us about their concerns and why they think we violated the Treaty.

We have forwarded the list to the Defence Ministry and other Russian agencies, which are to analyse the list and prepare an answer in response to the Americans' concerns.

It took them several years after your first request for such a list?

Yes, a few years.

Are they slow thinkers?

Maybe they fear that the provision of this information would compromise their sources.

I am not involved with these matters professionally; I can only speculate.

But it appears that several days after sending us a list of detailed questions to which we could respond in any way – we have started preparing our answers, they announced that they are withdrawing from the treaty, list or no list.

This does not facilitate a stable dialogue and predictability.

Considering the Foreign Ministry's fantastic openness and your readiness to answer any question, why wasn't there any news conference this time?

Journalists were not allowed to attend.

How do we always act in such situations?

We suggest a traditional plan to our guests: first, we show them how the talks begin, followed by the talks themselves and afterwards a meeting for the press.

John Bolton was the guest of Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, and he spent an entire day with him.

They, too, had no contacts with the press, except filming and photographing his arrival.

Nevertheless, considering the tremendous interest of the Russian media, as regards Mr Bolton's talks in Moscow, we suggested to him starting the dinner (the format of the meeting) in armchairs in our mansion's hall, exchanging introductory remarks and probably responding to the remarks of correspondents, as is customary in the United States.

They are invited before the talks, and they can shout something like: "Mr President, what do you think? …" This happens often.

Yes, I remember, someone shouted something to you, and you cut her short.

I don't remember that.

Yes, this probably happened during talks with Rex Tillerson.

We have written down all the moves.

Maybe, you will remind me later on.

This time, they asked us to avoid any verbal and visual contact, except filming how Mr Bolton enters our mansion; and this is exactly what we did. It took us 90 minutes because, apart from dinning, we, first of all, noted that it was necessary to promote the presidents' agreements somehow.

During his news conference on the results of the talks, Mr Bolton agreed to work on the matter of terrorism and to see what we can do to maintain cybersecurity; he also said it would be necessary to establish a business council.

All these three aspects were coordinated in Hamburg 18 months ago, in July, on the sidelines of the G20 summit when presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump first met and had a lengthy conversation.

Unfortunately, we made no headway on terrorism, cybersecurity and the business council until the last few minutes when Mr Bolton confirmed that President Trump wanted to implement all this, and that we will work on this.

We welcome this, but we want to prevent a situation like the one that shaped up after Hamburg and Helsinki when the Washington administration disavowed a principled agreement on a number of important matters

(that is, not some specific agreement but merely an agreement to reactivate channels for examining various topics),

although President Trump supported such approaches.

We will see how everything works out this time.

Returning to the subject of strategic stability, participants at the Kremlin meeting also noted that Russia and the US had perceived dialogue on all its aspects to be very topical, as confirmed by Mr Bolton's visit.

As you can see, the ABM Treaty has been terminated, all our attempts to streamline some coherent dialogue with the United States and NATO, even though such a treaty is lacking, so far meet with no response, the INF Treaty will soon be terminated, and the future of the START 3 agreement remains unclear.

In this connection, speaking to what extent deeds meet words or vice versa, I recall a proposal to resume the format of strategic dialogue at the level of deputy foreign ministers.

I would like to point out that, in June, my deputy, Sergey Ryabkov, sent this proposal to new US Under-Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Andrea Thompson.

Since June, she has been unable to clarify specific dates for holding such consultations.

I asked Mr Bolton to help answer this question more quickly.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also promised me to do this when we talked to each other in Helsinki, and later spoke by phone in August.

I reminded him about this in September, at a meeting of foreign ministers of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council.

Perhaps, Mr Pompeo's hands are tied by other urgent affairs.

Therefore I hope that Mr Bolton will send such a message, no matter what.

As I already said, we did not take any offence.

To be honest, holding on to resentment hurts no one but you.

President Vladimir Putin has said very clearly that we understand that this is their decision, and that we are unable to influence these decisions.

We have voiced our arguments, and we hope that they kept our arguments in mind while making their decision.

But if they are deciding to scrap all international documents in the field of arms control in such a way, they should say what they are planning to do in this sphere.

It would be pointless to act in an uncontrolled and non-transparent manner when one party would once again be unaware of the other party's actions.

Mr Bolton has said "No," and that they realise the need for transparency here, as well as a certain degree of trust and predictability.

As for the INF Treaty, they are asking why it is impossible to involve China, India, Pakistan and Iran in this process.

Did they ask us?

Yes, why not include these countries in the process.

And didn't they want to ask China, India, Pakistan and Iran about this?

This is what we told them.

Eight, nine or, maybe, even ten years ago, between 2007and 2008, together with the United States we submitted a proposal to the UN.

We suggested that all countries in possession of shorter-range and medium-range missiles join the INF Treaty and make it universal.

We received a negative response.

Frankly speaking, we expected nothing else, but we wanted to take advantage of all the opportunities for universalising the Treaty.

Today, we told Mr Bolton that, in any event, it is necessary to discuss control in the area of strategic and non-strategic arms of any country with the relevant state.

Actually, John Bolton said he had only brought the arrows, not any olives.

President Putin says the Americans keep pressuring us while we do not respond in any manner, and that time is needed to calm down and come to one's senses.

Kurt Volker has said that Russia will see additional sanctions come into play every month or two months.

There are lingering problems with our consulates and embassy offices in the United States.

They have not returned our property to us, and the situation is unclear.

What do we expect them to do?

They are pulling out of all the agreements.

They do not even like the mail.

What can this mean, actually?

Are we just watching, wondering what else they will do?

No, we are not forcing friendship on them.

We know that they are the largest power on the planet.

We would like to have normal businesslike relations based on mutual respect with all countries, including the United States.

We have sent ideas on developing mutual relations to the United States more than once.

This was done at the level of the President, the Secretary of State and the Security Council Secretary.

They know that we are willing.

We are willing to discuss any issues in our bilateral relations, as well as serious international matters...

What are they ready for?

and that we are willing to do this based on equality and mutual respect.

If there is any area where the Americans are willing to talk with us equally and respectfully, we are ready for this.

We have asked them to outline issues of interest to them.

They have indicated an interest in strategic stability in this situation.

They do not want us to have distorted expectations of their practical actions.

Vladimir Putin asked John Bolton directly what they planned to do, because we remember what took place in Europe in the 1980s and the outcome of those actions, with Pershing and Pioneer missiles.

That class of missiles was later destroyed, but this reduced Europe to a nervous wreck.

They are nervous again this time.

The Europeans are getting nervous.

We can see their reaction [to the news].

My German colleagues, Heiko Maas, phoned me yesterday to express their concerns.

When we worked on the INF Treaty and the Pershing missiles were removed [from Europe], the negotiations involved all NATO countries.

Many NATO members say now that the future of the INF Treaty should be discussed with them as well.

I do not know what they will do about this at NATO, but John Bolton, for one, has said openly that the United States is primarily focused on Asia where it would like to compensate for the 'unfair' lack of intermediate- and shorter-range weapons there.

As you know, Washington mentioned China when it made public its intention to withdraw from the INF Treaty back before Bolton's visit.

As you know, Washington mentioned China when it made public its intention to withdraw from the INF Treaty back before Bolton's visit.

I agree.
