How the States Can Save America - Duration: 5:42.

The federal government has become a lumbering giant.

With each passing year, it gets bigger and scarier.

In 1965, Washington was 761 billion dollars big.

In 2016... it was 3.5 trillion – five times the size.

If the government spent only the money it collected in taxes, that would be one thing.

But it always spends more — which is why we're $20 trillion dollars in debt.

That's 13 zeroes.

Count 'em: Thirteen.

But the crazy spending isn't even the worst of it.

Washington is involved in every part of our lives.

Think about anything you do, from driving your car to buying your groceries

to mowing your lawn.

Whatever it is — your education, your job, your health — the government has its hands

on your shoulder, if not on your throat.

As a congressman and senator for 14 years, I know this only too well.

So, how do we cut this giant down to size?

Is it even possible?

Yes.

And the amazing thing is, the answer is right in front of us.

The Founding Fathers, in their wisdom, foresaw the situation we find ourselves in today.

They wrote into the Constitution a way to repair Washington...not from the inside,

because that will never happen but from the outside, where it might.

It's right there in Article 5.

Most people are familiar with the first part: "The Congress, whenever two thirds of both

houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution..."

All 27 Amendments we have now started this way.

Congress proposed them and at least three-quarters of the states ratified them.

But is this the only way to amend the Constitution?

Well, let's read the next clause: It says that Congress, "…on the application of

the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments..."

Did you catch that?

Congress must call a convention to amend the Constitution if two-thirds of the states

— that's 34 states — demand it.

The time has come to demand it.

The time has come to propose amendments that will restore

meaningful limits on federal power and authority.

The time has come for a convention of states.

Here's how it would work: Once the 34 states call a convention, all 50 states send a delegate

to represent their interests.

For any constitutional amendments proposed, each state gets one vote.

And an amendment only passes out of the convention and to the states for ratification if a majority

of the states' delegates vote in the affirmative.

In this scenario, Congress has no say.

It is completely in the hands of the states, which means it's a whole lot closer

to the hands of the people.

We've never once amended the Constitution this way — but that doesn't mean we can't.

But, you might ask, doesn't this open the door to rewriting the entire Constitution?

Antonin Scalia, the late Supreme Court justice, acknowledged this risk, but regarded it as

a "minimal" and "reasonable" one.

Why?

Because to be ratified, a proposed amendment would need the approval of 38 states.

That's a high bar.

Thirty-eight states would never agree to something radical like abolishing freedom of speech.

"The Founders," Scalia said, "knew the Congress would be unwilling to give attention

to many issues the people are concerned with, particularly those involving restrictions

on the federal government's own power... [so] they provided the convention [of states]

as a remedy."

This should not be a partisan, left/right, Democrat/Republican issue.

This should be a "who controls your life" issue: you or the government?

Today, politicians can turn your life upside down on a whim, kind of like King George in 1775.

Being at the mercy of distant, disconnected rulers was why the American Revolution was

fought in the first place!

But we don't need a revolution.

We have Article Five.

So, what amendments might a Convention of States propose to limit Washington's power?

Term limits, for one.

No one should be in Congress for 20 or 30 years.

The only people who disagree have been in Congress for 20 or 30 years.

And how about a limit on taxes, spending and borrowing?

Since you began this video, the national debt has gone up $8.4 million dollars.

Here's one more idea: A constitutional amendment that Congress can't exempt itself

from the laws it passes — something it's done dozens of times, from insider trading to Obamacare.

Now, I don't believe a Convention of States will solve all of America's problems.

But the Founders put it in the Constitution for a reason.

They knew a time would come when Washington would become so big, and so intrusive,

that only we the people could cut it down to size.

That time is now.

He knows the anguish of both the good and the bad; ਚੀਟੀ ਤੇ ਕੁੰਚਰ ਅਸਥੂਲਾ ॥ ਸਭ ਪਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਫੂਲਾ ॥੩੮੭॥ From the ant to the solid elephant; He casts His limitless blessings and graceful glance on all.387. ਸੰਤਨ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਏ ਤੇ ਦੁਖੀ ॥ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੇ ਸੁਖੀ ॥ He is pained, when He sees His saints in grief; He is joyous, when His saints are happy. ਏਕ ਏਕ ਕੀ ਪੀਰ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਕੇ ਪਟ ਪਟ ਕੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥੩੮੮॥ He knows the inner agony of all; He knows the innermost secrets of each and every heart.388. ਜਬ ਉਦਕਰਖ ਕਰਾ ਕਰਤਾਰਾ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਧਰਤ ਤਬ ਦੇਹ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ When the Creator projected Himself, His creation manifested itself in many forms; ਜਬ ਆਕਰਖ ਕਰਤ ਹੋ ਕਬਹੂੰ ॥ ਤੁਮ ਮੈ ਮਿਲਤ ਦੇਹ ਧਰ ਸਭਹੂੰ ॥੩੮੯॥ When at any time He withdraws His creation, all the physical forms are merged into Him.389. ਜੇਤੇ ਬਦਨ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਿ ਸਭ ਧਾਰੈ ॥ ਆਪੁ ਆਪੁਨੀ ਬੂਝਿ ਉਚਾਰੈ ॥ All the bodies of living beings created in the world speak about Him according to their understanding; ਤੁਮ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਰਹਤ ਨਿਰਾਲਮ ॥ ਜਾਨਤ ਬੇਦ ਭੇਦ ਅਰੁ ਆਲਮ ॥੩੯੦॥ But O Lord, You live quite apart from everything; this fact is known to the Vedas and the wise.390. ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਨ੍ਰਿਬਿਕਾਰ ਨ੍ਰਿਲੰਭ ॥ ਆਦਿ ਅਨੀਲ ਅਨਾਦਿ ਅਸੰਭ ॥ The Lord is Formless, flawless, needing no shelter or support: Primal Power, Blemish-less, without a Beginning and Unborn; ਤਾਕਾ ਮੂੜ੍ਹ ਉਚਾਰਤ ਭੇਦਾ ॥ ਜਾਕੋ ਭੇਵ ਨ ਪਾਵਤ ਬੇਦਾ ॥੩੯੧॥ Only the fool claims boastfully about the knowledge of His secrets, which even the Vedas do not know.391. ਤਾਕੌ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਹਨ ਅਨੁਮਾਨਤ ॥ ਮਹਾਂ ਮੂੜ੍ਹ ਕਛੁ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਜਾਨਤ ॥ The fool considers Him a stone, but the great fool does not know any secret; somewhere He contracts Himself as Shiva, the Yogi; ਸਗਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਿ ਦਿਖਾਇ ਅਚੰਭਵ ॥ ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਰੂਪ ਸੁਯੰਭਵ ॥੩੯੫॥ All His creation unfolds wonderful things; He, the Primal Power, is from the beginning and is Self-Existent.395. ਅਬ ਰੱਛਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਤੁਮ ਕਰੋ ॥ ਸਿੱਖਯ ਉਬਾਰਿ ਅਸਿੱਖਯ ਸੱਘਰੋ ॥ Now please, keep me under Your protection; grant me virtuous learning and dispel my ignorances ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਜਿਤੇ ਉਠਵਤ ਉਤਪਾਤਾ ॥ ਸਕਲ ਮਲੇਛ ਕਰੋ ਰਣ ਘਾਤਾ ॥੩੯੬॥ All the villains, arisings and outrages; all the tyrants be destroyed in the battlefield.396. ਜੇ ਅਸਿਧੁਜ ਤਵ ਸ਼ਰਨੀ ਪਰੇ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦੁਖਿਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਮਰੇ ॥ Supreme Destroyer, those who sought Your refuge, their enemies meet painful death; ਪੁਰਖ ਜਵਨ ਪਗੁ ਪਰੇ ਤਿਹਾਰੇ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਕਟ ਸਭ ਟਾਰੇ ॥੩੯੭॥ Those people who fall at Your Feet; You remove all their troubles.397. ਜੋ ਕਲਿ ਕੌ ਇਕ ਬਾਰ ਧਿਐਹੈ ॥ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਲ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨਹਿ ਐਹੈ ॥ Those who meditate on the Supreme Destroyer even once, death cannot even approach them; ਰੱਛਾ ਹੋਇ ਤਾਹਿ ਸਭ ਕਾਲਾ ॥ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਅਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਟਰੇ ਤਤਕਾਲਾ ॥੩੯੮॥ They remain protected at all times; their enemies and troubles come to an end instantly.398. ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਾਟਿ ਤਨ ਜਾਹਿ ਨਿਹਰਿਹੋ ॥ ਤਾਕੇ ਤਾਪ ਤਨਕ ਮਹਿ ਹਰਿਹੋ ॥ Upon whomsoever You cast Your blessing and merciful glance; they are freed of their ego instantly; ਰਿੱਧਿ ਸਿੱਧਿ ਘਰ ਮੋਂ ਸਭ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਛਾਹ ਛ੍ਵੈ ਸਕੈ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੩੯੯॥ All the worldly and spiritual pleasures are in their homes; none of their enemies can even touch their shadow.399. ਏਕ ਬਾਰ ਜਿਨ ਤੁਮੈਂ ਸੰਭਾਰਾ ॥ਕਾਲ ਫਾਸ ਤੇ ਤਾਹਿ ਉਬਾਰਾ ॥ Whoever remembers You even once; You save them from the noose of death; ਜਿਨ ਨਰ ਨਾਮ ਤਿਹਾਰੋ ਕਹਾ ॥ ਦਾਰਿਦ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦੋਖ ਤੇ ਰਹਾ ॥੪੦੦॥ Anyone who has recited your Name; is saved from poverty, tyrants and pain.400. ਖੜਗ ਕੇਤ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਰਨਿ ਤਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ ਆਪ ਹਾਥ ਦੈ ਲੇਹੁ ਉਬਾਰੀ ॥ Lord of the Almighty Sword, provides a shield for my protection. rising sea level in Miami Beach that is partly natural and it's partly because

Miami Beach was built on reclaimed swampland which is thinking just as fast

as sea level has been rising for the last hundred and fifty years so there's

just all of these examples of things that he claims are because of humans

when in fact these are all things that happen naturally he claims there's more

severe weather there is no evidence of more severe

weather well dr. Spencer one of the things he says he got right was the 9/11

memorial would be flooded in New York City and indeed it was but yet there's a

big but here there's a big but and that's that the reason for the flooding

of the 9/11 memorial was do that to the huge storm surge from Sandy which would

have happened with or without sea level rise it wasn't due to sea level rise

which is what he claimed would flood southern Manhattan in the coming years

dr. you say there is middle ground when it comes to climate change because he

clearly believes it's influenced by man and you're not sure right right I think

that the carbon dioxide we're putting into the atmosphere from burning fossil

fuels is probably contributing to some of our current warmth maybe about 50%

but that part of it is natural and in any event it's not rising nearly as fast

as the climate models say it should be rising and those climate models are what

are being used to dictate our future and our energy policy there you go

Eliphant Yam 1/4 kg Peel out skin, Wash, Cut into Cubes and cook just for 3 minutes in Turmeric water

Yam 1/4 Kg, Peanuts 1/4 Cup, Onion big 1, Garlic 8 pods, Green Chilli 1, Curry leaves, Tomato 1, Gooseberry sized Tamarind soaked in water

Mustard 1/2 Tsp, Jeera 1/2 Tsp, Fennel seeds 1/2 Tsp, Turmeric powder, Chilli powder, Coriander powder, Sambar Powder, Oil and Salt

Heat Oil in a pan, Add Mustard, Jeera, Fennel seeds,

Add Garlic and saute for a minute

Add Onion, Green Chilli, Curry leaves, Salt and saute until Golden Brown

Add Tomato, salt, Turmeric powder, Chilli powder 1/2 Tsp, Coriander powder 1/2 Tsp, Sambar powder 1/4 Tsp, little water and cook until Tomato becomes mushy

Add Yam, Peanuts and mix well

Now add Tamarind extract and required water

Cook this until yam becomes soft

The X Factor 2017: Simon Cowell reveals he was 'very lucky' to survive fall without more serious injuries and praises 'incredible' hospital staff for their help: 'I'm truly grateful'

SIMON Cowell has admitted that he was worried about the damage hed caused himself during his the fall but says he feels very lucky that he didnt hurt himself more seriously. Simon Cowell was rushed to hospital after a fall [Flynet].

Simon Cowell has revealed the real reason behind his fall recent fall, which has left the music mogul vowing to take care of himself for three year old son Erics sake.

58 year old Simon has now revealed that he was very lucky to survive the fall without more serious injuries, confessing: Sometimes we get a reminder that we're not invincible and this was certainly mine. It was a huge shock..

While opening up about the details of his fall for the first time to, the father-of-one revealed that when he woke up someone was putting a neck brace on him. Simon Cowell was forced to miss this weekends live shows [ITV].

I had a terrible headache, which must have been from me hitting the stairs. I was worried at first that I'd done some real damage, he admitted.

Simon has, however, put fans worries at ease by confirming that hes on the road to recovery, saying: I'm on the mend now. I know I was very lucky I didn't hurt myself seriously.

It could have been a lot worse, the music mogul told The Sun. Simon Cowell gave a thumbs-up as he returned home from the hospital [Flynet].

Simon went on to praise those who helped him following his fall: in particular the hospital staff who cared for him. I must say, everyone at the hospital were incredible.

After being treated by paramedics at the scene, Simon was taken to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for scans of his brain, neck, spine and back. Alesha Dixon stepped in for Simon Cowell on Sundays live show [ITV].

The showbiz judge was later discharged and returned back to his London house looking tired and wearing a blood pressure monitor.

The TV show boss had gone to get some hot milk on Friday morning when he started feeling dizzy as he was walking back up the stairs to bed.

Simons security guards found him unconscious at the bottom of his staircase, after they were alerted by the noise his fall created.

The X Factor boss was absent from the live shows this weekend, with Britains Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon stepping in on Sunday night to fill in for him.

How To Treat A Cold | How To Cure Common Cold | Best Medicine For A Cold And Fever And Sore Throat - Duration: 2:06.

It's winter again and that means colds in fact adults average two to three a year

you may even know someone that has a cold right now

okay so the common cold is a mild viral infection of the nose, throat, sinuses and upper airways

the main symptoms include sore throat, blocked or runny nose

a slight temperature, coughing and sneezing it usually goes on its own within a week or two

the bad news is there's no cure for a cold

so definitely don't go to your GP for antibiotics because they're not going to work

but the good news is, it is self-limiting so it will go on its own

with plenty of rest, fluids and eating healthy

but here are some options that I recommend to help you feel better

for sore throats I always recommend gargling warm salty water

It's really effective at soothing the throat and it also helps reduce inflammation

It's reasonably inexpensive and everyone can do it at home

just dissolve half a teaspoon of salt in a glass part-cooled boiled water

and gargle, it's important not to swallow the salt water so it may not be suitable for children

for headaches temperatures and even sore throats you can take over the counter painkillers like

paracetamol and ibuprofen and these can both be taken together

lastly for adults with a blocked nose decongestant nasal sprays are effective but remember

if you use it for more than three consecutive days it can cause something called "rebound congestion"

and that means your blocked nose will basically get worse

when buying any medicines please always run it by your pharmacist so they can make sure it's ok for you to take

hopefully you won't need to see a GP but here's when you need to make an appointment

when your symptoms persist for more than 3 weeks

you have breathing difficulties

your symptoms suddenly get worse

you develop complications of a cold like chest pains or coughing blood stained mucus

it may also be a good idea to speak to your GP or someone if it

concerns your baby an elderly person or someone with long-term medical conditions

its so full of cream just like a full moon the middle of the rollcake is

filled with a white, white cream ~this is the Yuka you get at 3 am~

within a fluffy cake a cold milky cream resides and it goes so nicely together

next is a premium caramel eau claire

and the dorayaki pancake has a nice chewy texture

next is a custard and whipped cream waffle

I totally love these simple snacks

next is a belgian chocolate sandwich

its so fluffy and has a slight soft and chewy feel to it

the chocolate inside must be a belgian style choco its got such depth and so yummy

I ripped that rilakkuma sticker everyone! please be careful when opening

I can probably still use the sticker despite it being ripped

its totally got the purple yam flavor and aroma

cream dorayaki

the cream has a lot of azuki sweet beans mixed into it its a cream that has a lot of the adzuki flavor to it

next is a white taiyaki

look at how chewy it is look at how it stretches like this

with a slight sweetness contained within a chewy exterior this is jam packed with cream

chewy roll

plenty of treats today with soft and chewy in their name

when you use that "mochi" moniker for soft and chewy it really helps make it sound way yummier
