Daredevil Season 3 Review - Duration: 9:44.

now to be fair I've only seen the first six episodes but I can still say with

the utmost confidence the daredevil season 3 is hands-down the best season

of comic book television I have ever seen oh my god it's all good but this is

don't worry this is a non-spoiler review I know if I could do it but I managed to

dance around it yet still convey the awesomeness of what I have witnessed

okay now the reason this is so good is because one this show has done the work

it's laid the groundwork in the first two seasons and now it could hit the

ground running Akana runs we'll discuss and then - it finally gives fans what we

want daredevil versus kingpin you know mano a mano y

mano but with bull's eye caught in between

what I mean by that is there's like little bull's-eyes in the mix you know

kingpin isn't like a couple of characters away from daredevil right

This Is It this is the two of them battling it out and it's amazing two

heavyweights going up against each other oh so good is as good as you would think

it would be isn't that refreshing and I would say that after a convoluted yet

still excellent season - which almost felt and we know we all agree on this

like too many seasons stitched together right The Punisher season in the Elektra

season season 3 is stripped down almost dark night style come to think of it - a

mix of three intense character studies how awesome is that right you're like

that's exactly what I want but they're all so intense action scenes or intense

mind games where kingpin is concerned he might get into the action later on but

not in the six episodes that I saw but again it's still like 50/50 with him and

daredevil he is not back-burnered or you know behind the scenes in any way it's

so good now it's also impressive season 3 can start out as a slow burn with Matt

Murdock questioning his beliefs and his purpose

you'd still be vastly entertaining plus it's a nice throwback to the days when

the Catholic Church was a strong support system rather than having them more well

it's not an image it's an actuality unfortunately you know having a

predatory nature to it right and Joanne Whalley by the way does Ingrid Bergman

proud for those of you who've seen the bells of st. Mary's right you should

very good movie but Joanne Whalley does Bergman proud is a nun from Marik's

childhood who must once again help him overcome his anger I thought their

discussions were fascinating and they can have really interesting religious

discussions in a comic book show is exactly what you would expect from

daredevil cuz that's his whole thing but while they're slow burn the first few

episodes or anything but slow that's because Murdoch's personal

struggle is cross-cut with Wilson Fisk cleverly positioning himself for a

comeback and the tease that fan favorite Vanessa is on her way back to his side

and the show she doesn't show up in the first six episodes so I can't I can't

you know promise you or hinted anything for sure don't want to get your hopes up

my hopes are up though oh I'm excited and also seeing him and his classic

white suit doesn't hurt either so great we also get to see Murdock's close

friends foggy and Karen not only struggling with his loss and then his

sudden return damn you Matt you're not an easy person

to be friends with but that's what makes you so interesting right but we also get

the best picture we've seen yet of the lives that they've each built for

themselves since Nelson and Murdock closed its doors well that's a nice way

to put it they kind of bailed on him oh so but you know since then it's

interesting to see how friends evolve even in real life and I think that's

captured in this fictional show and they done good I'm very proud of both of them

not all these characters within the show but the fact they're no longer annoying

as you might recall wasn't always a fan of Karen Wright but she's become

fabulous they're both excellent supporting characters that we now

genuinely care about right and they also can contribute and

the story the overall story forward isn't that nice what supporting

characters are supposed to do plus kingpin starts putting them both in

danger as pieces on his chessboard and his strategy against Murdock

then there's bullseye whose entrance end of the series is nothing short of

brilliant in its subtlety as dawns on us and kingpin exactly who were dealing

with I thought that was just again so clever so well done it is it's amazing

how it washes over you the realization oh I can't wait for you to experience it

and thanks to a deep dive into bull's eye psychological profile right this

version of the character manages to be both terrifying and sympathetic so far I

actually feel bad for the guy Wilson Bethel is as much bullseye as

Charlie Cox's daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio is kingpin and considering how

much we love those two characters that's quite the compliment to Wilson Bethel

indeed he does have a chin that looks exactly like Sebastian Stan though I

will agree with many of you on that because when he made his debut in the

trailer I was like it's clear who that is and I was interested that many of you

were like Sebastian Stan Wilson Bethel is gonna start going after those

Sebastian Stan roles although on a side note I'm surprised that daredevil has

well received as popular as it is hasn't liked you know opportunities outside of

the show really for Charlie Cox or Vincent D'Onofrio wake up casting

directors these guys are brilliant all right then those action scenes episode 4

has the hallway fight to end all hallway fights as I said in my recent trailer

reaction it's so tense exciting and ambitious I was like are you really

gonna try and do this you are you did it that I was holding my iPad so tightly as

I watched it unfold that I can literally say that daredevil is gripping

television it's great I was also completely blown away by the extended

action sequence in episode 6 and by the way you might be like why you telling me

what episodes these happening gray because it is a little bit of a slow

burn and I want you to know that action is coming okay for those of you who

maybe aren't as committed or as into it as I was I don't see how that could be

the case but just in case I'm putting in these little safety nets of episode 4 in

episode 6 so episode 6 has an extended action sequence or bull's eye and

daredevil square off for the first time and I felt I'm not going to tell you the

circumstances and I found myself genuinely afraid for everyone's safety

going up against bullseye even Matt Murdock and it's wonderful to see a

classic villain live up to expectations and raise the stakes exponentially as

they should and speaking of classic villains who

raise the stakes exponentially of course that also applies to kingpin who's

working through bullseye and also through other back channels as the

character is so famous for doing but again he's in the mix I would say this

is 50% his show for sure which is what we wanted what we've been hoping for

what we've been waiting for and it's so great to finally get that finally while

other shows make quite a point about having a diverse roster behind the

camera remember Jessica Jones was like all female directors right and on camera

by the way this season all slides jle as agent Nadine he's you know it's it's a

straight man role you know it's not a flashy role but so far so good from what

I've seen in the first six episodes but while daredevil season 3 hasn't called

attention to their diverse behind the camera talent and I think maybe I may be

I mean it's a mix do you want to call attention to it right is that like

trying too hard you know she can't let the work speak for itself but if you

don't call attention to it how do you make sure people know that it's

happening and I'll tell you why I want you to know what's happening because the

most important thing that this group is done and you know hats off to everybody

in the group not just the diverse members but you know the thinking is

when you would diversify the behind the camera talent it's gonna change this

what you're seeing on camera but I think it's important to point out that this

group has delivered an incredibly comics accurate depiction of daredevil and one

of his strongest stories ever in any medium you know they they made a bet

they made it and they didn't you know change it just for the sake of changing

it and while I know it's supposed to be based on born again into some

is a significant amount here is it's changed and I think it really does stand

it's on its own as its own story by the way you should always pay attention to

the credits when you're watching a show especially if you're really into the

business so that you know who you who's working on what you're watching so you

can also pay attention to their careers and also if you're interested in such a

career so that you know the players right and kudos by the way to showrunner

Erik Olson coming off of arrow of all places I can't believe that he was able

to deliver this based on what I'm hearing about arrow especially recently

I can't wait to watch the rest of the show so that's my review of daredevil

season 3 spoiler review coming when the when the season debuts so be sure to

share your own thoughts down below if you've somehow gotten wind of spoilers

don't ruin anything for anybody right and of course as always you can check

out some more videos right now

Downside of NOT Teaching Kids to Clean or Have Chores - Duration: 6:46.

What is the downside of kids not learning how to do household chores?

That's an excellent question, and we're going to talk about that today.

Hi there, I'm Angela Brown, and this is Ask a House Cleaner.

This is a show where you get to ask a house cleaning question,

and I get to help you find an answer.

Today's show is brought to us by MyCleaningConnection.com

And that is a resource hub for parents, and house cleaners, and homeowners,

and aunts and uncles, and everybody that's involved in raising kids.

There's a whole bunch of stuff on there, resources, charts, job charts, cleaning routines, downloadable

tips, downloadable checklists, there's a whole bunch of stuff that will teach you how to

clean and help your kids learns how to clean.

Alright, this question comes from a homeowner who wants to know what is the downside of

kids not learning how to clean.

Alright, there are two schools of thought, and the first school of thought is that everyone

lives in this house, it's everyone's responsibility to keep it up.

The other school of thought is, I want my kids to be kids, I don't want them to have

to clean and worry about the tough stuff of life, I will just give them everything, and

they'll figure it out when they're old.

Okay.

It's probably pretty clear which side I'm on, but, let's talk about the first one first.

The first one is, it's everybody's responsibility.

I agree with that perspective for this reason.

If you teach your child when they're young that there is more important things in life

then video games and waking up first thing in the morning and just screwing around on

electronics, and games, and whatever.

But you actually teach them choirs, and you teach them cleaning, and you teach them how

to pick up and tidy up after themselves.

You teach them how to do a load of laundry and how to put their dishes in the sink and

turn the dishwasher on after they've loaded the dishwasher.

These are life skills that they will take into adulthood, and if they have those skills

as adults they are able to turn around and teach their own children.

One of the most frightening things that I see right now is the result of this group.

This group is like, "I don't want my kids to have to do choirs, tidy up, and I'm the

mom, and I'll do it all and then they will appreciate me."

Guess what?

They don't appreciate you.

All they do is they focus on their video games, and they become entitled, and they expect

everything to be given to them, and they don't expect to ever do anything for themselves.

I've seen grown adult children that do not know how to do a load of laundry by themselves,

and they expect someone else to come over and take care of them.

Now, they may not even have the money to pay those people to come take care of them, they

just expect it, so there's this entitlement belief, like, "Oh, the world is just going

to give me, and I don't have to do anything."

I have seen adults, senior adults, that have 40 year old children that are living back

at home with them because the kids can't do for themselves.

Now they have children of their own that are now living with grandma and grandpa because

they have never been taught because the kid, the adult child, did not know how to teach

the children.

This group of thinking, like, "Well, I want my kids just to be kids."

Guess what?

Your kids are going to be kids anyway, but you might as well teach them some life skills

that will serve them when they go off to college, and they're in a dorm room that has ants and

bed bugs.

Teach them how to keep those areas clean so that they don't have to fight with that stuff.

The worst thing in the world is for a college kid to have lice, and they don't know how

they got it, they don't know how to get rid of it, they don't know how to get rid of bead

bugs, and they're living this life of misery because they've never been taught how to be clean.

That's bad.

But if you teach your kid from a very young age that we all live in this space, and we

are all responsible for keeping it up, those are the skills they grow up with.

So, what are the downsides of not teaching a kid?

The downside is, the kid goes out into the real world, and it can be at any age, but

whether they're going to school, whether they're living on their own, they are missing a whole

chunk of life skills.

They don't know about responsibility.

They don't know about that they have to carry their own weight.

They don't know that there are daily things they need to do, just in the vein of maintenance.

But if you're going to teach your child anyway, things like taking a shower, making your bed,

picking up your toys, hanging up your clothes, you might as well go for broke.

Teach them how to do a load of laundry.

Teach them how to clean out a toilet.

You can teach a kid from toddler age.

Every time you come in and you're getting ready to use the toilet look inside the toilet

and if you see a ring you are in charge of the toilet rings in this house.

There's a little toilet brush right here, and you scrub it out, here's how you do it.

From a very young age, four, five, years old.

Kids can pull out the little brush, and they can get rid of the toilet rings, and they

do it every time they go to the toilet, they check for toilet rings.

And they'll be so proud of themselves when they find one, and they're able to clean it up.

But these are skills, it doesn't cost anything for you to teach them, but it costs you a

lot if you don't.

Then, when you have adults that don't know how to clean up after themselves, they live

in a life of misery and hording and chaos and it's not a harmonic place to be.

There's a huge downside of raising a group of entitled children that don't have any household

cleaning skills, and I'm not just saying that because my passion is household cleaning.

I'm saying that because I want your kids to be responsible adults.

They deserve that.

They deserve a parent who loves them enough to teach them chores, and household work and

how to tidy up after themselves, and how to take their plates to the kitchen sink, and

how to put stuff in the dishwasher, and how to empty the dishwasher and where the stuff goes.

They deserve to go to the grocery store with you and they need to learn about budgeting,

they need to learn about grocery shopping.

They need the basic skills of life, and if you're their parent you get to teach them

these things.

Don't worry about child labor laws and are you overextending your child and taking away

from their childhood.

No, you're raising your child and that's what it means.

It means teaching them and being their mentor so that when they go out into the real world

they have all the skills they need.

Alright, that's my two cents for today, and until we meet again,

leave the world a cleaner place then when you found it.

Yunteng Monopod VCT-228 Review for Event Filmmaking - Duration: 8:00.

if you're an event filmmaker I bet you hate carrying on big hefty tripods or

even having to adjust their legs just to get the correct height and level of your

camera you have to get a monopod to solve those problems and this monopod

right here is extremely affordable

hello its Arvin Concepcion and welcome to geared for

you a segment on the channel talks about camera gear and reviews camera gear so

you can find out if it's a gear for you and this episode we'll be reviewing one

of my most top favorite camera gears for filming events and that is the Yunteng

monopod this review is completely experience

based all numbers like weight and and maximum height whatever those can be

found on the sites that you're gonna buy it from but this is mostly based on my

experience with the yunteng monopod first and foremost the yunteng monopods most

greatest strength and most unique selling point is not only is it

versatile but it is also affordable like super super affordable like I can get

like three of these for a whole crew or like five maybe yeah that's how affordable

it is I bought the using monopod about a year

ago and I've only used it a handful of times because on most event shoots I'm

mostly on the gimbal but recently I've I've acquired the

taste of static shots so I've been using the using monopod a bit more and I'm

always just focus on what's moving in the frame then actually just moving the

frame so yeah and in all honestly throughout every time I use this monopod

I love this monopod well mostly because this is the only monopod that I've ever

used my entire life so I can't compare to anything but I just love it because

it's versatile it makes my workflow so much more faster easier and lightweight

and I just believe that's what all monopods do they're versatile they're

lightweight and all that good stuff and they're just so essential in the world

of the event filmmaking because in the world of event filmmaking you really

don't know what you're trying to shoot and so if you

were gonna bring one tool at all just to go to an event it would be the monopod

because you can get static shots but you can also get moving shots where you get

slider shots you can get push and push out shots that is how versatile the

monopod is in the world of event filmmaking but here is the most biggest

question for me would I keep the yunteng monopod for the rest of my career before

I answer that question I would love for you guys to subscribe to this channel if

you love what you're hearing and if you want to watch more gear for you videos

and don't forget to hit that Bell notification to get notified every time

I post my geared for you videos or even my vlogs or even my behind-the-scenes so

back to the question what I keep the yunteng monopod for the rest of my

filmmaking career the answer is no I wouldn't and here's why there's one

reason why I would not keep this for the rest of my filmmaking career and that is

build quality I can separate that one reason into two categories the first

category is on the parts that you mostly you know fiddle with those are plastic and

so plastic means there's a high potential it's gonna break and that's

what happened the first time I took it out to use it the first time it was in

this nylon bag that it comes with and it fell about from my hip level and I

thought I was okay because it wasn't that high but when I was using it I was

wondering why the the monopod kept sinking down and I found out the third

clamp the slowest clamp had cracked and so it can no longer hold the leg in

place and it can never reach its maximum height and that made it even more

difficult when I shot the global village on to greater ends event which you can

watch the behind the scenes up here I tried to get a lot of over the shoulder shots but

I couldn't because the monopod was just too short the second time it broke was I

was covering this event which can watch it up here it's a vlog so we can watch

that up here during the event it was just standing idle no one was using it

there's no camera on top of it and someone accidentally

knocks it down and to the part that broke was the lever that that releases the

quick-release plate which I often use and so from now on it's super difficult

to get my camera out of that monopod so that's it for the plastic build quality

and we move on to the one of the most most important parts that makes a

monopod versatile so on some monopods you have this ball head at the bottom

which allows it to move in any direction or stay put now in some of these

monopods they have this locking mechanism in order for it to move or not

move some monopods have this slide up and it moves inside down it locks but

for the yunteng monopod you'll have to screw to lock or unlock now screwing it

takes a certain amount of time and then you have to pair that with adjusting the

leg and so that makes it super time-consuming to adjust and in the

world of filmmaking you cannot afford to miss the moment so those are the two

issues that are basically in the category of build quality that I hate so

much about this yunteng monopod but we all have to be reminded that this is an

affordable monopod a cheap monopod if you will so we can't expect it to be a

10 out of 10 absolutely perfect monopod but that's the thing though it's so

cheap it becomes a low barrier cost for beginner event filmmakers to be able to

learn how to use a monopod without spending so much and regretting that

they spent a lot of money so for every beginner event filmmaker get a monopod

and specifically the yunteng monopod so you don't have to feel guilty about

spending so much about a gear that you potentially could hate or love now

before we head to my final conclusion I would love to give you guys a bonus tip

for those of you who are considering buying this yunteng monopod or any

monopod in general I suggest you consider the size and weight of your

camera because if your camera is super huge and you mount it on a lightweight

monopod like the yunteng monopod then your your monopod won't be able to handle it

and its just gonna fall over like what happened in this vlog my camera

fell down and it landed on the mic jacket where my microphone so

keep in mind that you have to consider what you have and what you need to

supply it and then it'll work beautifully so for my final thoughts my

final conclusion I absolutely love this monopod for what it is and for how it

has helped my workflow make it so much lightweight and fast and super versatile

but I wouldn't mind spending a little bit more money to get something a little

bit more better since I have already learned how to use monopod but for now

it gets the job done and that is the most important thing for you event

filmmaking so that about wraps it up for this yunteng monopod review and if you

would like for me to kind of make a separate video on how monopods are

veratile and what you can do with them then go ahead and comment down down below so

like so I know that that's what you guys are looking forward to and if this video

helped you in your decision to buy this yunteng monopod then I suggest you hit

that like button and also hit that subscribe button for more geared for you videos

like this and also behind the scenes and then also vlogs and don't forget to hit

that notification bell to get notified every time I post those separate type of

videos and I'll see you guys on next geared for you video on the next vlog or on the

next behind the scenes

Peace!

BIKERGIRLS IN FRANCE ep.1 | THAT HURTS #motovlog52 | - Duration: 7:23.

Anne: Didn't got it on camera...

But you have to believe me, it really happened!

It hurt so much!!

Anne: We arrived!

Anne: Destination achieved

Anne: In the middle of nowhere

Nomi: No service on my iPhone

Nomi: On google maps it looks like we're almost there

My dad's best French (Asking something just in Dutch works pretty well)

My mom screaming something about a flowerpot

Nomi: Flowerpot

Anne: Put it away..

Anne: Dent.. oh no, there is a dent in the lid

Anne: A big dent

Anne: Yeah, he did well!

Nomi: There is a dent. Can we beat that out?

Anne: Yeah, we have to beat that out

Anne: It is very hot!!

Anne: Hello everybody

Nomi: Hello everybody

Anne: We are in viva la France and we are going to ride today!

Nomi: And we don't speak French

Anne: S.V.P.

Nomi: We gonna take a good ride

[all the French words I know....]

Anne: We brought to you: my Mom and Dad!

And Nomi is here

And I'm here

And I brought my camera. Bye

Anne: Our first French meters

Nomi: Yaaaaassss

Anne: On our bikes! Because we came with the car with trailer

Anne: And the road looks a bit like an off-road to get to our stay

Our home

Our Gite

Anne: Babe, are you happy in French?

Nomi: This is what my bike loves! My bike is waggling

Anne: But does the boss of the bike also likes it?

Nomi: YES!

Anne: On our way here with the car we saw all the gravel laying on the road

Anne: They put all gravel on the tarmac

Nomi: It has been too hot so all the big trucks damaged the tarmac

Anne: Wow

Anne: This is not the most south of France

Nomi: We are in the middle

Anne: So we don't have a Col (mountain road) like the south right?

Nomi: Yeah there are some Col's overhere but not that high

Nomi: So we got a lot of this...

Nomi: Just beautiful views but not really the high mountain roads

Anne: Ok... That hurts!!

Anne: I got stinged by a wasp

On four different...

four times i got stinged

Anne: Didn't got it on camera...

But you have to believe me, it really happened!

Anne: Soooo that hurts!

Anne: Underneath my motorcycle gear

Anne: Right underneath here

Anne: We are trying to search for lunch but we can't speak any French and nobody wants to help

Nomi: Tadaaaaa

Anne: PIZZA

Anne: Bon appetit

Anne: After searching for 100 hours we finally found something..

to eat!

Anne: Watch out, it is hot

Nomi: Outside or the food?

Anne: And also my wasp sting

[Nomi feeling sorry for me]

Nomi: By one wasp, four times!! How..

Anne: I think I will get over it before I'm a boy, right...

Anne: This was the first day!

Nomi: Yeah!

Anne: Bloody hot

Anne: But also riding in between the woods, it's cooler

Anne: Are you happy? Did you enjoyed?

Nomi: I really liked it

Nomi: It is different than Italy for example

Nomi: More in the forest area

Anne: Yes, because we are not that high

Anne: but it is fun

Nomi: The little towns are very old

Nomi: The biggest struggle is the gravel they got on the tarmac

Nomi: Gravel everywhere

Anne: Scary

Nomi: We found one place where the tarmac is good and no gravel

but most of the roads only got gravel

Nomi: So it means about 10% less fast

Anne: 10% less? I feel like riding 50% less than my maximum

Anne: Our first day viva la France!

Nomi: We got take a dip in the pool!

Anne: Thank you for watching, check out the next vlog.....

Nomi: Now

Anne: Just next time... I'll see when i'm ready with editing

Nomi: aaaaannnndddd

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty History Of The Series - Duration: 43:19.

Welcome back, my dear friends!

Glad to see in another episode about Metal Gear Series.

In the previous episodes we had a chance to slightly scratch games starting from Metal

Gear and Metal Gear 2 on MXS, and Metal Gear Solid on PlayStation 1.

If you haven't seen those, I strongly recommend you get familiar with it before watching this

episode, because the plot is something Metal Gear Series is famous for.

For those, who already watched those episodes – let's start talking about Metal Gear

Solid 2 Sons Of Liberty.

Well, Kojima achieved a certain success, but he didn't want to create another part of

the series every year.

But the reason was not only because it was hard to create a high quality project within

one year or two years.

Kojima simply didn't want to do it, although he was asked to do it like THOUSANDS of times.

In 2000 Metal Gear Ghost Babel was released for Gameboy color.

And it's the first game that was created without Kojima and received positive feedbacks

from both players and critics.

At first this game was supposed to be a port of the first MGS For PS1, but suddenly, changed

the course and turned into a complete game.

Nevertheless, the events of the game do not fit into the official storyline.

This year was also famous for 2 important events: release of PlayStation 2 console and

Kojima showed the first trailer if his new Metal Gear Solid Game on E3.

And, as expected this one was a blast.

*It was incredible.

Unbelievable, mind blowing, can't wait.* *It was incredible, I've never seen any

videogame like this.

It was like watching a movie* *Kojima and team made an awesome job.

It's the reason to buy PlayStation 2 alone* *Metal Gear Solid...I mean a long way from

Nintendo Entertainment System, the 8 bit, the old 1987 system...it's a long way from

what it is now, it's incredible.

I can't believe this* For those who haven't heard or maybe a little

bit confused, let me explain.

Developers of that time only started working with 3D.

Of course there were a lot of projects in 3D even for original PlayStation console,

but if Metal Gear Solid was more like a successful experiment with 3D graphics, MGS 2 Sons Of

Liberty was like a polished and much improved version of the previous game that used all

advantages and powers of the new console.

It was really a new generation of possibilities and technical improvements in many ways.

PlayStation 2 started using DVD disks instead of CD disks, that helped to keep more information,

4,5 Gb versus 700 MB.

So developers had to learn how to use potential of the new console properly: high-quality

textures and videos, scripts, work with audio channels and many other things.

I think it's obvious.

Besides, developers needed time to fully understand how to work with Emotion Engine – the graphical

core of the new console.

And MGS2 showed it all in a single game.

That was definitely something!

Being a huge fan of movies, as you remember, Kojima tried to combine gameplay and cinematic

experience and he totally managed to do it.

It touches not only graphics, such as more realistic lights, shadows, physics and items

interactions, but also more advanced AI for NPCs.

Plus, this time, creators wanted to pay some extra attention to realism of the game, including

weapons, armory, and soldiers' behavior.

The military consultant, who helped to create the first MGS went even further and helped

the team mimic the most appropriate behavior.

Some minor, but extremely important things, like how to hold a gun properly, how to move,

special signals and signs, etc..

In order to understand soldiers' behaviour properly, those performances were held right

in the Konami corridors.

The thing is – Kojima has always been against pre-rendered trailers and scenes and always

uses the engine of the game to show its gameplay.

Still, a lot of people had doubts whether the same quality would be present in the final

product.

Of course, the version that was presented on E3 changed with time, but all mechanics

and quality that were shown in the trailer didn't go anywhere.

Of course, nowadays we are able to look closer at the game and understand how developers

had to improvise in order to save resources, and save the quality.

Look at the particles that were shown in older teasers and fluidity of the gameplay in general.

The resolution of 512x448 with 60 frames per second looked outstanding, especially for

such a big game!

MGS 2 looked like nothing else did.

The Developers managed to use the whole potential of the console and made the game look gorgeous.

In addition the game used innovative system of animation – so-called skeletal animation

– that allowed to reduce the overall weight of the animations in the game, but at the

same time improve the performance.

If you ask me, even now MGS 2 and the third parts look decent.

That's what can be called a competent usage of resources and gorgeous game design.

But what Kojima was probably really proud of was that breakup system.

Players could see glass that breaks, cupboards that fall apart and in general almost every

small item on the levels could be broken or completely destroyed.

If you are even more interested in technical aspects, I strongly recommend you get familiar

with the video from DigitalFoundry (link in the description).

The game improved from perspective of game mechanics as well.

A complete and full working system of covers and hideouts could be seen in this game.

Not just a chance to sit behind a certain barrel or box or lean onto it, but to peep

out, shoot and hide again.

Besides, not only a player could take a cover, but enemies as well.

In this game also appeared a chance to shoot in first person and hang on the edge of something

and knock down some guard by jumping onto them.

The combat system was improved as well, our protagonist learnt to capture enemies and

use them as a shield, move breathless bodies, check enemies' pockets, attack from a corner

and there is more.

In addition to all those features I would like to point out the music.

Starting from the second MGS the music is written by world-recognized composer Harry

Gregson Williams.

If you haven't heard of him, this is the person who wrote music for such famous movies

and games as The Rock, Shrek, Bridget Jones, The Chronicles Of Narnia, Call of Duty 4 Modern

Warfare and many more.

All those aspects turned MGS2 into the most expected game of that time.

Should I say that after the release in 2001 the fate of its predecessor awaited this game?

But for now, let's plunge into history of creation, because it was rather complicated

at some point.

The concept of this game was ready in 1999, the game was supposed to be called Metal Gear

Solid 3.

This icon symbolizes the three highest skyscrapers in Manhattan.

It was supposed to start with Snake, who tries to destroy another Metal Gear on an aircraft

carrier somewhere in the Middle East.

But, after the start of development the situation in the real Middle East was heating up and

it was decided that tanker would be situated somewhere else.

Even at that time another playable character was planned known as Raiden, which was described

as a ladylike person.

Members of his support team were supposed to be called by names of the characters from

the book City Of Glass.

And one of his enemies was supposed to be a certain Chinese guy, with acrobatics of

Jet Li, and a tattoo, which could become alive in water.

Although this tattoo concept was rejected after all.

And his connection with water transformed into abilities to run on water and walls and

were inherited by another charismatic boss.

I should point out that a well-known undoubtedly horrible 9/11 event left an imprint on the

whole story in general and on the game in particular.

For example the scene of a falling Statue Of Liberty was cut out from the ending.

But, let's go back to 2001 again.

Not long before release of MGS2 Kojima produced anime and a game called Zone Of The Enders.

With a decent plot and graphics.

But this game was sold decently probably because of the demo version of MGS2, which was included.

In November Sons Of Liberty was released in the USA and Japan, other countries had to

wait until March of that year.

You should know some things about this game.

First of all this is the most commercially-viable part in the whole series, since there've

been more than 7 MILLION copies sold (for ps2 only)!

And this is the part, where all uncertainties started.

The first uncertainty for a player was that Raiden character, Kojima kept silent about.

He didn't show this character to public and in gameplay trailers he showed only the

first part of the game, where Solid Snake was the main character, trying to find evidence

of the existence of another Metal Gear.

Due to that many players didn't even have questions about a playable character and were

astonished when they saw another one.

Nevertheless I can't imagine how hard it was to keep the main playable character in

secret.

Besides, even the trailer that was shown in 2001 on E3 presented some fake sequences,

which is bad on the one hand.

But, on the other hand this was a very bold presentation of the main idea of the game

– manipulation of people through information.

But we'll talk about it later.

As I've already mentioned, instead of brutal Snake players received a rather ladylike character.

Even local characters get confused by his appearance.

But, if you put aside his appearance, Raiden is a great well-drawn character, just like

Snake.

He has his own past, his own vision and his attitude to people.

So, because of all those positive aspects, most part of the audience accepted this character.

But for many players the problem of this game was not the character, but an EXTREMELY complicated

and twisted plot.

Everybody lies in this game all the time and there are DOZENS of plot twists that turn

everything upside down.

Take into account this game is approximately 10-12 hours long.

All in all, MGS2 has probably the most multilayered, complex and twisted scenario in game industry.

Well, AT LEAST one of such scenarios for sure.

Some of the players had complaints about controls.

The thing is MGS2 on Playstation 2 finally learnt to use analog sticks, so the only challenge

was to get used to those sticks.

Funny camera angles that could be found in the previous game were almost gone.

Actually on the contrary, although the camera was fixed, developers made it really good

and convenient.

Artificial intelligence became much more complex and interactions with soldiers became much

more interesting.

Enemies learnt to group up and examine places more carefully, sometimes not giving a chance

to hide properly.

They also learnt to notice shadows, hear footsteps and other noises, and report on their current

status.

If the report wasn't done on time, some additional forces were formed in order to

investigate that case.

And millions and millions of details more.

For example, while an enemy was trying to call for help through the radio, you could

shoot his radio set to prevent it.

There were dozens of new game situations in this game: search and deactivation of bombs,

escort missions, disguise missions, search of a prisoner with cardio stimulator with

a remote microphone and a lot of different activities you could barely find at that time.

By the way, a style of walkthrough without any victims appeared first in MGS2.

Both Snake and Raiden had a gun with tranquilizer darts.

Besides a sniper rifle could be found in the game with the same mechanics.

So, almost any enemy could be put to sleep, not killed.

All bosses, besides health had stamina bar as well.

And if you exhaust the boss, he will be defeated without being killed.

Of course, it was more difficult to do than just to simply kill.

As far as I know, it doesn't give you anything, just a higher rank.

But, it was still fun to do.

It's time to retell the plot of the game and share some thoughts about it in general.

I have to remind you, that I try to compress the plot as hard as I can without missing

anything important, but it still can take hours to discuss all aspects of this game.

I recommend to continue watching only to people, who don't have a chance or desire to play

this game.

Even the graphics for 2018 look fine, if you ask me.

But, it's up to you to decide, of course.

It's been 2 years since Shadow Moses incident and a lot of things have happened.

For example, Natasha Romanenko - a Ukranian-Russian weapons analyst who took part in the events

on Shadow Moses wrote a book about what happened there.

In the Darkness of Shadow Moses: The Unofficial Truth.

By the way, the book actually exists!

And there are 2 major consequences, first of all the whole world finds out about Metal

Gear.

The data that Ocelot stole in the end of the first part were found on the black market

and now almost every country can create their own Metal Gear based on that data.

And the worst part is that almost every financially backed militia can afford to have a nuclear

weapon now.

And some forces won't think twice before using it.

The second thing is that everyone now knows who Snake is and what he did.

The hero himself along with his friend and partner Otacon became a part of organization

called Philanthropy, in order to fight against the black market and walking machines all

over the world.

Right here and now they check the lead that on the tanker a brand new model of Metal Gear

can be found.

During our invasion the tanker is being captured by Russian military forces (what a surprise,

right) and Snake is shot by some flying drone.

Its name is SYPHER – it's an unmanned aerial vehicle, and it's also a working

prototype, that was built by a rather famous company Sikorsky.

And this vehicle, works perfectly fine since 1993.

The thing is that at that time not so many people knew about such prototypes and technologies.

And just take a look at this, in the game that was released in 2001 were shown unmanned

vehicles or drones as we call them nowadays, and that they would be used in near future.

I should point out that Kojima has an eye on such military predictions and technologies

and because of that his vision of future looks persuasive and authentic in most cases.

Well, probably besides huge walking robots, but who knows, right?

And the most amazing part is that most of those predictions become true.

But, let's get back to the tanker that's been captured by Russians.

Solid Snake is wandering there trying to find another Metal Gear.

At first, everything goes smoothly, we find our way into the tanker, find out that this

operation is controlled by Sergei Gurlikovich, neutralize his white haired daughter Olga,

go deeper into the tanker, take pictures of that metal beast and find out his specification.

This model is called Metal Gear Ray…and is created to fight machines of its own kind.

Suddenly, Revolver Ocelot hits the stage, and at first it looks like Sergey and Ocelot

work together, but Ocelot betrays Gurlukovich, kills him and demonstrates the transplanted

hand of Liquid.

Ocelot acts weird, but we'll be able to witness such a behavior in future.

Then, he gets into Metal Gear and sinks the tanker along with Snake.

Year 2009, two years later after the accident.

At the place of a mysterious destruction of the tanker with crude oil a huge cleaning

complex called Big Shell is built.

After some time it's captured by terrorists, and they call themselves "Sons Of Liberty".

Members of anti-terrorists group called Dead Cell also join Sons of Liberty.

And the leader of that group is non-other than…Solid Snake.

Who supposedly died 2 years ago along with the tanker.

This organization keeps around staff of this complex as hostages – around 30 people.

And the most important fact is that mr. president along with his nuclear briefcase, is one of

the hostages.

Invaders demand a very big sum of money - 3 billion dollars to be specific.

Besides, if terrorists explode the whole place with toxins and oil, this accident will have

disastrous consequences for centuries.

A new member of Fox Hound squad is sent to investigate this case, code name Raiden.

He's a part of a new generation of soldiers which means that his trainings and experience

were gained only in virtual reality, but he's young and ready to work.

His objective is to save hostages and the president, of course.

Also he has to avoid any damage to the complex to prevent ecological catastrophe.

Colonel Campbell takes charge of this mission and the support team now consists of only

one person – analysts Rosemary, or Rose for short, Jack's girlfriend.

Along with Jack a group of Navy Seals enters the complex.

A bit later only a few people will survive there: Peter Stillman, who specializes in

explosion and bombs and a certain....

While Navy Seals die one after another, the game introduces Vamp to us.

Extremely gracious, strong, bloodthirsty and almost invulnerable.

And Fortune, and it seems like bullets, missiles and grenades simply veer away from her.

Although, we'll face them later.

Vamp was supposed to be a woman at first, but after adding Fortune to the plot this

idea was thrown away.

According to Yoji Shinkawa - a character mechanical designer, he got inspiration for this character

from the image of Joaquin Cortez - a great Spanish Flamenco dancer.

You can always notice some extraordinary moves while meeting Vamp, like he's dancing on

the battlefield.

For now Jack faces a student of Peter Stillman – Fatman, who managed to allure his teacher

into a trap and kill him.

Rayden defeats him and finds out that this bomber doesn't know anything about terrorist

or demands of money.

He's almost all by himself there.

Then we meet cyborg ninja, almost like Grey Fox, he helps Rayden to find a person, who

knows where the president is.

While his search Jack reveals that the leader of those terrorists is not Solid Snake, but

Solidus Snake.

And the real Solid Snake is that Iroquois Pliskin, we saw earlier.

It's strange how almost no one paid attention to his appearance, but whatever.

By the way, being the clones of Big Boss, it's natural for them to have some resemblance,

so, there's no surprise that they - Solid and Solidus - share the same 3D model, only

some textures were changed.

Then, after finding the president we learn some information about a certain organization

called The Patriots, who've been controlling America from the shade for a very long time.

And that the president doesn't have any real power, that's why at first he decided

to help the terrorists, but changed his mind some time later.

Then he says that Big Shell is another cover for construction of a new model of Metal Gear

– Arsenal Gear.

It is a submarine fortress with an enormous fire power including nuclear weapon and 25

new models of Metal Gear Ray for its protection.

But the main danger of Arsenal Gear is something different.

There is an incredibly powerful AI on its board called GW.

It has everything it needs to censor the whole internet, all sources of digital information.

In other words to erase unwanted information along with all traces of that information

and generate new one in order to provide covers for the Patriots and their actions.

And Solidus wants to topple the Patriots to make people decide for themselves.

Having finished his speech mr. president dies from Ocelot's bullet.

The whole game started from a hint from a certain E.E. to Otacon where to find another

Metal Gear.

After that with the help of Emma Emmerich, Otacon's stepsister and a creator of GW,

Rayden decides to try to infect the AI with

a virus.

In the process Emma gets killed by Vamp, and the episode of her death is really, really

touching.

Especially that parrot sequence.

This parrot belonged to Emma, and he was her only friend.

They spent a lot of time together and Emma talked to him a lot.

And after her death Hal could hear the words, Emma didn't manage to tell herself.

Although the story of two relatives, even not related by blood and who haven't seen

each other for a very long time, because of some falling-out between them, may sound a

bit strange and controversial, especially for those, who are not interested or familiar

with Japanese culture.

But personally for me, this is the sequence that really touched my nerve.

Our team manages to upload the virus, but only 90% of it.

Suddenly, that Cyber ninja from before appears, it turns out to be Olga Gurlukovich, who was

neutralized by Snake before.

Rayden wakes up tied up to some torture device in front of Solidus inside Arsenal Gear.

And right from this moment a complete hell starts to perform.

I mean seriously, you have to pay some extra attention here, because, as I've already

told you, the plot is a complete nightmare from some perspective.

I personally played it several times in order to understand what's happening here.

First of all it turns out that Rayden has a fighting experience.

And actually a lot of it, not only in VR.

During war in Liberia he was a unit leader, and he was 10 years old, they killed because

there was no other way.

If you didn't kill, you wouldn't get a meal.

If you didn't kill, you wouldn't be allowed to fall asleep.

If you didn't kill, you would be killed instead.

And at that time Solidus adopted Jack, became his mentor and almost a father.

Here Olga confesses, that she's a double agent of those mysterious Patriots and works

for them.

I should remind you, that we still don't know who the Patriots are.

Why would she help Jack?

In short - to rescue her child.

The thing is that Olga's child was taken away from her by the Patriots right after it was

born.

The only evidence that Olga's child is alive was a monthly picture of her baby from the

Patriots.

Later the Patriots injected her child with life-monitoring nanomachines, that were supposed

to end her life if Raiden fails his mission on Big Shell.

So, if Olga wanted to save her child, she had to help Raiden complete his mission and

help him stay alive.

And, after those words she releases Jack.

Meanwhile Colonel Campbell starts to behave very strange.

And after some time again we learn that Campbel is not real Campbell.

It was GW, that super intelligent computer, who spoke to Jack.

Some fights afterwards with attempts to break the fourth wall, and in the end of all that

Rayden leaves Snake one on one with Fortune.

At this time, Rayden takes the elevator and goes up only to meet a great number of Metal

Gear Rays there; those protect Arsenal Gear and are controlled by GW itself.

Solidus shows up and, at one tough moment Olga appears and sacrifices herself to save

Jack…or it's better to say to save her child.

Metal Gear RAYS start conflicting and attacking each other, because of that virus we injected

earlier.

Suddenly Ocelot also shows up and says that everything's been planned, in order to create

a soldier as powerful as Solid Snake.

And it means that everyone, every character, every event and everything were being manipulated

in order to lead us to this ending.

The project is called S3 - Solid Snake Simulation.

But again, SUDDENLY we find out that Liquid's hand can take control of Ocelot's mind,

he says that he wants to topple the patriots.

He programs Arsenal Gear to crash into Manhattan, but he escapes the Arsenal Gear in Metal Gear.

Solid runs after him.

Meanwhile, Arsenal Gear runs towards Manhattan and stops after reaching it.

The main danger of Arcenal Gear is that it was capable of destroying the world we know

now.

Computers, smart-devices, internet, the whole economics as we know could be destroyed in

a single blast.

And there are only two people left: Solidus and Raiden.

Here all the cards are being revealed, explaining the reason for all those actions on Big Shell.

As I've already said, it's all been planned...by the Patriots.

Not Ocelot, Solidus or anyone else.

If you put it in one sentence: Solidus wanted to find out who the patriots were, stop them

from controlling the world and information and let people decide for themselves.

And, to kill them of course.

Ocelot thought that this whole thing had been the project called S3 - Solid Snake Simulation,

the recreation of Shadow Moses in order to create super soldiers like Solid Snake.

He was sure, that he even used Dead cell, Fortune and Vamp as a replacement for FOXHOUND

squad on Shadow Moses.

But everyone's been deceived by the Patriots, S3 project stands for Selection for Social

Sanity, where Patriots try to manipulate minds of people through creating context.

And Raiden was chosen as a Guinea Pig.

Of course, when you play this game for the second time you start to notice some signs

of a huge master plan.

But after the first walkthough you are just sitting there asking yourself…"whaaaaaaat".

I would even add the whole final sequence here, but it's really, really long.

After an epic sword fight, Raiden wins the battle and after the titles we find this dialogue.

Well, that's been the plot of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty.

A little bit mind blowing, in my opinion.

Believe me, I understand how silly it sounds that Liquid's hand took control over Ocelot's

mind, although there are still discussions considering that fact.

I should remind you that this is an alternative reality with nano-machines inside people's

bodies, some abilities that can be assumed as super powers because of that and all that

stuff.

Questions like, how Rayden couldn't realize that Campbell was not real.

Or that Fortune lady who evades bullets without even trying.

I understand that it does sound silly, but Kojima wouldn't be such a praised game designer

if he didn't think all of it through.

I'll try to tell some of the most obvious questions, but again, I strongly recommend

you to play this game yourself.

First, the hand.

There were and are dozens of theories considering the fact of mind control.

But the official version and explanation can be found in MGS4 Guns of the patriots, where

Liquid COMPLETELY takes over Ocelot and even introduced to players as Liquid Ocelot.

I don't want to spoil the joy and we'll get to that explanation sooner or later.

At least that explanation sounds logical and doesn't cause any facepalms.

It actually happens rather often, where some element of one game can be explained in the

following ones.

Speaking about Campbell, GW and Rayden.

The imitation of life is emulated not due to the computation powers, but because of

nano-machines inside Jack's body.

All soldiers of new generation have nano-machines in their bodies.

Just like Solid had in the previous part, they protected him from cold, for example.

And there are no difficulties considering Fortune at all.

The Patriots simply equipped her with a device that controls her electro-magnetic field behind

her back.

Thanks to that all bullets seem to evade her and she's able to carry a huge gun.

So, when THEY needed it, they just performed such a trick.

I think it's a true gift to make a script in such a way, that you believe less and less

people around you in the game.

You are not sure what truth and lie is.

Almost no one tells the truth, and even if he or she does tell the truth, it's at least

not complete.

And in the end, a player himself doesn't quite understand what's happening on the

screen.

The ending of MGS2 is one of the greatest mind twists in the gaming industry in general.

A plethora of different themes are intertwined in this game: the idea of censorship of information

with the help of right context and content; control of information; reflection considering

human's nature, experience and knowledge about the world.

How can you trust the information you hear and see?

Is there a chance that everything's been decided for you.

How easy can it be to manipulate masses?

Can you trust people around you?

I mean seriously, the last cut scenes last for about half an hour.

The fight with Solidus is not really hard, but you still can't relax there, so the

finale hits the brain furiously and stays there for a very, very long time.

In general the game was sold 7 million times.

Just like with the previous game, about a year later another, more complete edition

was released with the subhead "substance".

Many new things were shown in this version: first of all tutorial, from which players

could learn tips and tricks how to control their characters.

It sounds kinda funny, to complete the game several times and only after that learn that

Rayden still has some tricks up his sleeve.

Second of all survival mode while fighting bosses, where all bosses appeared on the arena,

and players had only one health bar.

Third of all, there was a casting theater mode where players could change some models

of characters and watch 8 cutscenes with them.

Besides all that VR missions were developed as well.

The arenas became more versatile and there more of them than in the previous part.

In addition to that so-called alternative missions appeared, where in familiar decorations

players had to eliminate someone, deactivate a bomb, or just play unnoticed.

Another mode called Snake tales was shown: alternative missions with a small pre-history.

Voice actors were not involved here, so, this tales can be only read.

This game even has skateboarding mode.

I mean why the hell not?!

This game was also ported to XBox, PC and PS3.

And again, Digital Foundary made some great work in describing all the issues on different

platforms.

For instance, Xbox version had problems with performance, visual quality and controls.

PC port had problems as well.

Post-processing systems are used poorly or not used at all, some textures are seen clearly

where they shouldn't be seen.

We saw something like this in Silent Hill HD collection.

The usage of keyboard instead of a controller can become really messed up sometimes.

So, the best way to play this game nowadays is ethier to play it on PS3 in HD Collection,

or using the emulation program.

It's possible to play this game using PCSX with Dualshock 4 connected to PC via DS4Windows

or using an XBox controller.

Besides, using a widescreen patch, you'll be able to play it almost flawlessly.

And, of course, Easter eggs.

This time developers put some extra thoughts into creation of those.

Starting from obvious things like Vulcan Raven statue and posters of Policenauts and ending

with some elements only a few people could find.

If you look around and are not afraid to experiment you'll be able to find a lot of interesting

things.

Also, just like with the previous game, the plot turned into a basis for a comic book,

that was officially released by KONAMI in 2005.

I should point out that the plot in this comic book was different in some places.

For example there are moments where Snake is in the center of the plot, not Rayden.

Also, there is a book, written by Raymond Benson, and, unlike the comic book, describes

all events just like in the game down to the codec dialogues.

It was released in 2009, and…I think that's you should know about it.

So, let's go down to the whole analysis thing.

And this time it may sound more complicated.

I, to tell you the truth cannot point out one theme here.

Unlike previous game, this time not just several questions are raised for discussion.

This time the game raises a whole layer of thoughts and themes.

The theme of memory and how our mind works and develops on the basis of this memory.

All in all, these themes are a logical continuation of gene theme that was touched in the previous

game.

That DNA is not just a sequence of genes that a person got from his or her parents.

Memories, just like feelings, play a huge role in the development of a personality.

And how important it is to live with your past, no matter how dark and cruel it was.

Questions like social heritage, information control, influence of this information on

people and control of people with this information.

I would add the whole ending here and some parts from the middle of the game if I could,

but I think it would take too long to watch.

The theme of soldiers of a new generation is raised as well.

In previous games the most efficient way to improve soldiers was gene therapy, now, it's

more complicated VR trainings.

And again I should remind you, that the Patriots failed to create a killing machine out of

Raiden, although he's passed through all those tough choices and situations.

And while playing this game you have a feeling that the game plays you.

Yes, you play as a secret agent, but because of those lies, unspoken words and revealed

truth you feel like the game tries to throw some dust in your eyes.

Make you believe in what you see and feel…and then twist it upside down.

Relationships are also touched much deeper than in the previous game.

For example, Rose - Jack's girlfriend...she's been lying to him all along.

At first she was assigned to Raiden to spy on him, but after some time, she really fell

in love with him.

Or the story of Otacon with his stepsister Emma, may be a little bit too Japanese.

And the story of Raiden and Rose, for example, with all those inconvenient pauses, blame

and shame.

Some of their dialogues are really touching while she's saving the progress.

And sometimes completely out of place.

I think it's funny to mention, that the way Rose asks Raiden about "Do you remember

what day it is tomorrow" was taken from Kojima's personal experience with his wife,

that led to some sort of crisis in their relationship.

And, of course Raiden himself with his story of a boy who had to live through war.

It's not a fully fictional problem after all.

I mean, yeah, I understand that Rayden is a fictional character, but war in Liberia,

children at wars and children of wars are very serious topics nowadays, with all those

violence, hatred and killings in the world.

As we see, Sons Of Liberty has become much deeper, it opened a new page in the history

of the whole franchise.

As I've already told you the script can be really hard to understand after the first

of walkthrough and every person is about to see something personal in it.

By the way, this game is still the most commercially successful among all MGS games.

I think that's all that I wanted to say here.

Thank you all for your attention!

The following episode is going to be about Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater, as you've

probably guessed.

See you soon ladies and gents, in…*sigh*.

Stock Market Pullback - Oct 11, 2018 S&P -2.06%, DOW -2.13%, NAS -1.25%, RUS -1.91%, EEM -.99% - Duration: 12:49.

hello everyone and thanks for tuning into the financial investor channel my

name is Brent and today we're gonna be going over the stock market pullback

that took place on the October 11th 2018 it was a Thursday you know five downs

consecutive here in the S&P 500 you'd regret it over the four main indexes

take a look at the emerging markets the S&P 500 as a whole the world market

current futures are positive so Friday depending on earnings you know those

financials there's gonna be five financials reporting JP Morgan Wells

Fargo Citibank I believe will go over these here in just a minute

and I believe depending on how these earnings you know revenue is gonna be

playing a huge part as the dollar gets stronger as the yields continue to rise

and it becomes more attractive to lock in your investments in a low risk

investment you know for the long term you know over the next three ten years

it becomes much less of a risk and also with rates going higher in tariffs you

know there's so many things out here in the market that are kind of affecting it

here and there so SMP 500 sold off another 2.06 percent today down over 5%

in two days five-day change down 5.97 here today up

still 2.05 my portfolio I'll tell you right now my Roth IRA is completely gone

in the negative right now which is kind of funny over two days Dow Jones here

down an additional two point one three percent again over five percent here

within just last two days down five point nine one percent this one I saw so

many people on Facebook if I had over to my facebook and just take a look at some

of the comments that I was getting from what was a some business group was doing

like a live watching the Dow Dow the Dow Jones fall you know broke 500 broke 5 20

30 oh we're gonna be hitting 600 you know it's a stock market crash nobody

out there you can really tell the mindset of these people they don't own

anything besides me 401k they probably don't even know what fun they're

investing than their 401k they've never invested in an individual stock

and it's kind of you know crazy to see these comments of people about anyways

the Dow Jones the main highlight of today as it was bleeding off you know

it's only tracking 30 stocks so it's really funny that people tracked this

one over the S&P 500 or some of these other ones of the hole so on to the

Nasdaq Nasdaq sold off one point two five percent not as much as the other

ones this is due to Wednesday already having taken a hit of four point zero

zero eight percent down five day change six point nine eight percent basically

half of its gains for the year completely gone in just a matter of you

know two days here today still positive six point one seven the Russell 2000

lost an additional one point nine one percent today

you know it's beginning the bottom out I think this is the bottom and output it

period going into earnings we're gonna be seeing financials retail then tech

and so on so we're gonna see a lot of earnings here and that's gonna be

playing a huge part so Russell down one point two nine down over the five days

six point one nine your today it's still positive up six point point six for

emerging markets took about a one percent loss today down point nine nine

this one's already been hammered here today you can see down nearly seventeen

percent so pretty interesting there I know a lot of people in the past we're

moving out of the US in into some emerging market funds you can see here

this is the S&P 500 as a whole today during the day Google Microsoft Facebook

Twitter they were all in the positive towards the end of the day they began to

sell off a little bit I know the video lost an additional four percent Amazon

here you can see an additional two percent a lot of these companies here

just continue to you know trend up and down I put a limit by on Apple at $2 or

two hundred and twelve dollars and fifty cents I believe to buy some shares it

did not trigger it almost fell to that point you know to my buy point it was

somewhere within that range you didn't quite hit there it was almost there and

it miss it and then it bounced back up to 217 so I was pretty unfortunate that

I didn't get what I wanted but hopefully tomorrow Apple tanks a little bit and I

can pick up some more shares so here's the s the world this is the world

view as a whole you can see Canada Mexico Colombia Brazil United Kingdom

and so on the only one that sort of was in the semi green today was over in

China Alibaba Pok and popping back up 2.6 1jd

over there up three point three nines percent be do up one point nine three so

while most of the you know world was in the red today China which is already

down over fifty percent just within the last few years is sort of catching a

break now so I believe going into Friday we're gonna start to see some sort of

recovery pad you can see stock features are currently positive sp500 of one

point eleven percent the Nasdaq up one point four four percent the Dow Jones up

one point twelve percent very positive right now we're gonna see how much of a

gain we're gonna be able to get over the last few days you know this is just a

bicyclist you know my kid he's three he's learning to ride his bike right now

without those training wheels he's fell off his bike he got back up picked

himself back up that's what the markets doing right now you know he fell over

he's getting stabilized you know he's kind of stabilizing himself and he's

gonna chug along a little bit further and he may fall over in the next couple

days or weeks but he'll eventually you know chug along so that's what the

markets do they always recover over time so most active here in the after-hours

look at this most active after-hours how much of this is green all of it it's

green comcast General Electric Ford Apple Wells Fargo AT&T Microsoft micron

Cisco you know and so on every single stock here within the list is positive

so Friday do I believe we're gonna be doing you know started off pretty strong

in the morning yes I believe Friday morning we're gonna be starting off

pretty strong oil you know went down an additional two point seven six percent

today basically Wednesday and Thursday were mirrors down five percent over just

the last two days here today still up twenty four point four eight dollar

catching a little bit stronger this is what's court of effect and you know

there's all sorts of things affecting us that dollars strengthening rates are

getting higher money is more expensive to hold you know debt

it's more expensive to hold tariffs are kind of going on and hitting some of

these you know affected some of these international stocks and national stocks

people are beginning to do layoffs and so on there's just a lot of little

things here and there like little pieces that are sort of dominoes and with one

kind of folds over to kind of top off some other ones over and you know some

of deaths I got to restain it up silver well it did sell off yesterday hit you

know it looked more attractive today went up 1.7 1% here today it's still

down 14.51 if you're gonna go out there and buy silver instead of buying the

trust go out there and just buy physical silver we have gold shares here gold

continue to be positive and Wednesday and then caught a huge bid on Thursday

up 2.5 2% bonds kind of interesting you know a bit of a buyback throughout the

day as people were trying to lock in the field of around 3.2 3.25 within that

range bonds are currently down around 3.1 to actually we can take a look here

3.13 has where that 10-year sitting 30 years

at a 3.31 so you know this you know yesterday was that 3.22 up at 3.27

that's why we had you know better you know there's little indicators here and

there but you know nobody knows exactly why you know Trump is blaming the Fed

raising the rate so high I think it's actually good to have these rates high

you know it's so inexpensive to go out there and get a loan and borrow money

you know people are going head over heels and just debt going out there

getting car loans I work at a financial institution I work at a credit union our

most common loan is car loans and you know our mortgages you know they do what

they do people weren't refinancing anymore because they're you've already

got a great 3 4 % rate versus the 4.5 5% rate they're gonna get and that's what

rates are at nearly you know five and a 5 and 5.3 1/5 it's really a six percent

depending on your you know credit score so we're gonna start payday loans but

Friday earnings we have First Republic is going and

reporting their earnings pre-market they're expected to hit a dollar 21

we're gonna see where this one hits you know FRC's not one that I normally you

know track myself Citigroup is also doing before market opens at 161 69 JP

Morgan this is one I recently added to my portfolio they're expected to release

earnings before the market opens they're expected around a 2.25 I believe they're

gonna beat it Wells Fargo expecting a dollar 17 PNC expecting 272 so I believe

tomorrow we're gonna see some financials maybe not do so well you know I I don't

see walls Fargo maybe meat in it we'll see JP Morgan I think they're gonna be

doing well so the financials will help the market

on top of the already kind of bottomed out you know we've sunk sunk sunk and

now we're gonna be kind of bottoming out investors are going to be looking to

looking for deals the financials may be able to catch something you know as

they're moving positive I put out a article here earlier talking about the

Dow Jones this is my set order so I set my okay so I set my order on Apple at $2

and two hundred and twelve dollars and 45 cents and it had actually hit two

hundred and twelve dollars and 32 cents but I must have like missed it by just a

hair or something and of course it had gone back over to 17 so where was my

article we're talking about oh here it is okay so next earnings season is about

to begin and it's going to be an important one

the main focus going into earnings here towards the end of the year is all the

companies they're gonna be reporting they have to report that their revenue

is rising they need to have revenue you know right isn't enough that it's going

to be able to support they're tightening debt and margins

you know rates are getting higher debt is more expensive if you have any sort

of long-term debt that's going to be hurting you over the long turn

especially if your liabilities are high comparison to your assets that's going

to be turn you up so Dow Jones Report earnings on Thursday they had a rise of

8% in their revenue which drove in you know drive by strong demand and surging

premium ticket sales so while fuel costs are more expensive

you know oil has been rising throughout the last several months Dow Jones was

still able to pump up their revenue by a percent that drove them up today three

point three percent so we're gonna see how Friday turns out but I believe it's

going to be going good you know we already see stock futures here in the

positive so I think early morning we're gonna be doing very well and depending

on how financials go they may be able to help support the market even higher so

that is all I wanted to cover in today's video

S&P 500 down to point zero six Dow Jones two point one three Nasdaq down one

point two five Russell 2000 down one point nine one in the emerging markets

down point nine nine so that is it for this video I hope you guys did enjoy if

The 'Should' vs 'Shall' Debate - Duration: 6:57.

For VOA Learning English, this is Everyday Grammar.

Last week in Paris, leaders from 195 countries reached a major global climate agreement.

In the final hours of meetings, one little word made the difference between success and

failure.

Near the end of the talks, a version of the agreement contained the word shall instead

of should.

These two words may seem similar, but pay close attention to how they are used here

in Article 4.4 of the agreement: "Developed country Parties shall continue

taking the lead by undertaking economy-wide absolute emission reduction targets.

Developing country Parties shouldcontinue enhancing their mitigation efforts…"

In earlier versions of the agreement, the word shall in the first sentence had been

should.

U.S. government lawyers noticed the word change.

Just hours before a final vote on the climate deal, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry phoned

the French foreign minister.

"We cannot do this," Kerry told him.

The change from should to shall introduced new legal and financial requirements.

These requirements concerned Kerry and other U.S. leaders in Paris.

The difference in meaning between these two words almost caused the first global climate

agreement in 18 years to fail.

If these two words could almost ruin a major global climate deal, we should probably take

a closer look at them here on Everyday Grammar.

Both should and shall are auxiliary verbs.

Auxiliary verbs are followed by the simple form of a main verb.

For example, "He should go."

In this sentence, "go" is the main verb.

The auxiliary verb should has many different meanings.

It is often used to express certainty or possibility.

For example, "They should be here soon."

We also use should to give advice or an opinion.

For example, if a friend says she is always tired, you might tell her, "You should get

more sleep."

Should can also express a goal or something that is not required.

Before the holidays, many Americans say, "I should lose weight."

After the large holiday meal, we say, "I should exercise more!"

Should also expresses the idea that something is expected or correct.

For example, "You should see the train station after you exit the Metro."

Let's take another look at the Paris climate deal.

Article 4.4 stated: "Developing country Parties should continue enhancing their mitigation

efforts…"

In other words, the goal of developing countries is to continue improving their efforts to

reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The word should does not express a legal requirement.

But shall, in the case of the climate agreement, does.

We often use the auxiliary verb shall to indicate a promise.

Often, that promise is part of a legal agreement.

Article 4.4 of the Paris climate deal stated that developed countries "shall continue

taking the lead by undertaking economy-wide absolute emission reduction targets."

Replacing should with shall created stronger legal requirements for developed countries

than developing countries.

That is why the U.S. opposed the word change.

The U.S. argued that shall needed to be changed back to should.

French leaders told Kerry that someone must have made a typing mistake.

Hours later, delegates from 195 countries agreed to the climate deal.

Kerry later said of the shall vs. should debate, "We made it crystal clear that every text

up until this particular one had a different wording.

So it wasn't hard for them to realize that somebody had made a mistake, and they accepted

responsibility for it."

The auxiliary shall does not always have such serious effects.

In the Everyday Grammar article, Six Differences Between British and American English, we learned

that Brits sometimes use shall to express the future.

For example, "I shall see you tomorrow."

It is similar to the verb will.

And American Army General Douglas MacArthur once promised to return to the Philippines

by famously saying, "I shall return."

In American English, we sometimes use shall in questions to make an offer.

Shall is a more polite choice than should.

For example, you might ask, "Shall I meet you after work?"

But for Secretary Kerry, there was nothing polite about the word shall in the Paris climate

agreement.

That's it for this week's Everyday Grammar.

We leave you with the words of American folk singer Bob Dylan.

You should be able to hear the auxiliary shall in the song:

Princess Eugenie will be mad at dad Prince Andrew if he does this at the royal wedding - Duration: 4:11.

It's set to be the biggest moment of her wedding day, as Princess Eugenie walks down the aisle at St George's Chapel to marry fiancé Jack Brooksbank

And the bride-to-be has admitted it could cause a row with her dad, Prince Andrew, if he leads her through the chapel too quickly

Speaking to Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes in an exclusive interview to air on This Morning on Friday, the 29-year-old admitted she had already given her dad a word of warning about the big moment

Ruth asked Eugenie what might be going through her head as she walks down the aisle, to which she replied: "It's nerve-wracking and a bit scary and all the things that come with getting married, but at the end of the day you get to marry the person you love… [looking at Jack] and you're going to be at the end of the aisle, and I'm going to be running towards you!"  Asked to confirm if she will run towards Jack, Eugenie confessed: "No, [but] I've told my dad if he goes fast, that's it, we are not talking anymore! So he's going to go really slowly I hope

"  STORY: Princess Eugenie and family arrive in Windsor for royal wedding  The couple also opened up about the moment they first met during a ski holiday in Verbier, with Princess Eugenie saying it was "love at first sight"

Jack admitted he had noticed Eugenie first, with the couple "staring" at each other after being instantly infatuated

"Yes, and I thought, 'what a silly hat!' [laughs] .and I thought, 'who's that?' and then [looking at Jack] you came over and shook my hand and I was all butterflies and nervous," Eugenie said

"I think I rang my mum that night and said 'I've met this guy Jack'. and that was it I think about how it started

I remember being like 'I really, really like this guy, I really want him to like me too' and then you gave me this huge windscreen wiper wave and that was it, right, he likes me

"  MORE: Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank to break tradition with this royal wedding detail  While Jack described his wife-to-be as a "bright shining light", Eugenie said of him: "Jack's the kind of guy, you know when you're lost at a party and you can't find anyone to talk to, and you start panicking and you need help? He'll walk in and make everyone feel so special

He'll scoop you up and talk to you and make you feel a million dollars and [looks at Jack] that's you, and you're so humble and generous

So humble and generous - that's two words - and that person you immediately know [that] you've got a friend…"  Eugenie also said how much it means for her to have big sister Princess Beatrice as maid of honour and Jack's brother Tom as best man

"Who are very good friends actually, separately to Jack and I, which is nice. But my sister has always - she's my big sissy - I've looked up to her my whole life," Eugenie said

"I've wanted to be her at times, we've fought over Converse trainers and who gets what… and you know, we're best friends and I can't think of anyone I'd want by my side more than her

She's the biggest supporter of 'Team Eug and Jack' and so it's a great honour for me that she said 'yes' and she's doing that duty
