Youtube daily report Oct 7 2017

All right. Hello, hello, hello!

Hi, today I thought we'd watch some more Swedish music videos.

As you perhaps know I'm a Swedish speaking Finn. I lived in Finland my whole life until I moved to London nine years ago.

So Swedish music is, for me, a big old mystery basically.

After we did the first video with Dave where we watched Swedish music videos - link up here!

We got a lot of feedback and evidently many people took our song choices very seriously

and got very upset because had of course chosen the worst possible Swedish songs.

So now I have, based on all the comments on that video, it has about 40,000 views now,

so based on that I've now chosen these songs.

And yes, Abba is included so you can stay calm!

So let's get started! We'll kick off with Zara Larsson.

Hello Zara!

"Sarah"?

How do you pronounce her name?

But the song is called 'Don't let me be yours' and that I was able to pronounce.

Here we go!

Trailer park.

Ah, here we have Zara!

Hello!

Ok, here we have a family, who are car mechanics all of them.

Some family bonding.

You tell 'em girl.

I like this hairstyle.

I don't think I can pull it off.

But I like it.

I don't really know what's happening in this video but I like the song.

Is it just me or is something a bit Ariana Grande about Zara Larsson?

Or, I mean, it might be something a bit Zara Larsson about Ariana Grande.

Oh, now the car is on fire!

It's interesting with music videos that they don't have to have anything to do with the song.

Here we have a trailer park to car mechanics to car racing and now the cars are on fire.

Ok, I think in the next video I'll have these and we'll see if it works on me.

Ok, that was it.

Boom!

Thank you, Zara.

Ooops, no. We don't need to watch it again.

But it was nice that one time.

Ok, so that was Zara "Sarah" unpronounceable name Larsson.

Well done!

Sings well, good song and pretty girl but that's not what it's all about.

Then next up we have your beloved Kent and the reason I say this is because that was

what everyone was most upset about that I didn't have any Kent song last time.

Kent and Abba. That was the big issues.

So now we have Kent and the song is called 'Dom som försvann'.

The only other Kent song I know is 'Dom Andra'

*sings 'Dom Andra'*

And I'm not a huge fan of that song I have to say.

Maybe because I've heard it so many times not that I know when I've even heard it, it

it didn't play on Finnish radio.

I don't know why I know that song.

But, this song is 'Dom som försvann' and now we'll watch that.

Ok, the teddy is on fire.

That's not creepy.

A bit of a trailer park theme here as well.

Who are you?

Who are you?

I'm confused...

Why can't we see anyone's face??

Oooh, look at you!

Like Shakira.

So cute!

Urgh, ok.

Never mind.

Umm... what's happening in this video?

Is that Kent?

Ok, so they've used special effects to make the members of Kent into little kids.

Or??

Very creepy.

Are you a real child?

You look real.

You're not either a real child.

You're really not a real child.

Ok.

Ewww.

Goddamn.

Ok, so that was depressing and creepy at the same time.

I think we'll need a little something to cheer us up so the time has come -

now we're gonna watch some Abba.

This is Mamma -- Oh my god!!

Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia has 113 million views on YouTube.

I have never seen an Abba music video in my life.

I didn't even know Abba music videos existed.

So, this is a pretty legendary moment now.

There they are, those famous notes.

Oh.

Wow.

Oooh.

I mean those outfits!!

Wow, they really love these dramatic turns

but can we get to see what these guys are wearing?

But show us the guys!!

Oh my gosh.

Oooh, wow.

Can we see those outfits a bit wider please?

Oh no, is it over already?

But we didn't get to see the outfits properly.

I have to go back and stop where I can see them.

Here!

I mean...

Hello Benny or Björn.

The platform shoes!

You go man!

Why not!

Ok wow.

Wow, wow, wow.

The rest of the days plans cancelled.

Will watch all of Abba's music videos.

Thank you.

Thank you those who thought I should absolutely watch that, because that was amazing.

Next up we have someone called Håkan Hällström.

I have no idea...

I don't have a clue who this is but apparently he's some kind of Swedish national treasure

since you all wanted me to watch his videos.

'Det kommer aldrig att vara över för mig' is the song and now we'll watch it.

Where are you Håkan?

Mmmhmmm, the youngsters are in the swimming pool.

Oh, those were the days.

Whoops, there she went!

Hello, Ma -- Håkan! I almost said Magnus Uggla.

This much be such a break up ballad or something.

I mean, I can so see it.

Ok, first he was sixteen, now he's twentyfour - I'm following.

I can so see this song, at the end of the night, this comes on and everyone's like.

I like this song.

"Själförrrtroooende" is he from Skåne?

I mean he's a little good-looking this Håkan Hällström as well.

Don't say anything to Dave, but...

Aww, I like this song.

Ok, thank you!

Thank you, Håkan Hällström.

We'll leave it there.

I like that.

As I said, a bit end of the night, like -- "it's never over for meee lalala".

Lastly we have L -- another name I cannot pronounce.

It doesn't help the more I look at it, I want to say 'Laleh'?

*trying to pronounce the name Laleh*.

We'll go with Laleh, why not.

Cool name, it's just me who can't pronounce it.

The song is called 'Bara få va mig själv'.

No idea who this person is, but here we go.

Ah, are you Laleh?

Mmhmm, there's plenty of fringe on these girls.

Oh, here are the bad bosses.

I've figured out this video already.

They're bad guys.

Oh yeah, the fringe team.

Bad guys!

Can I have heard this song before? Or like, there's something that sounds familiar.

Ok, bad boss incoming.

They're like 'ok girls, this is what we'll do'. Now we're negotiating.

'Here is your contract.'

Mmhmm, maybe this is like record label bosses.

Yes, I already know how it goes.

Ok, now it's contract time.

'No, I don't want your contract.'

'Stick it up where the sun don't shine'.

'What the hell, now you sign this contract! We own you!'

'No! F**k you!'

Good.Girl power!

Ooh, then she teaches him to dance.

They're friends now.

Thanks.

Thank you Laleh.

Leylee, maybe that's how you pronounce it.

Ok, no idea.

Can someone tell me how to pronounce it?

And can you also let me know how to pronounce Zara Larsson?

I want to say Zzzara.

I have no idea.

Okay, so that was 'Bara få va mig själv'.

Another kind of powery-power song.

But really catchy, really good.

Maybe not a song I'll listen. I don't know why.

It was perhaps a bit repetitive.

I don't like it when I can sing along after hearing it once, it has to be more of a mystery for me

...and then, after 100 times, I've started to understand how the song goes.

I don't know, maybe it's just me.

But anyway, so that was all the music videos.

I think that my favorite today, or yeah maybe the biggest surprise was...

Oh f**k now I've forgotten what he was called again...

Håkan Hällström!

Not Magnus Uggla, I again wanted to say Magnus Uggla.

Maybe I have to watch some Magnus Uggla as well since I evidently don't know what he

looks like or then I just have some kind of weird Magnus Uggla obsession.

I don't know why that's the one that kind of stuck, I did also like the Zara Larsson song

and that was perhaps not one that I knew how it went straight away.

So that song was a bit of a mystery.

So, that one I might listen to again as well.

But anyway, that was it.

Thanks so much for watching.

VOA news Oct 7, 2017 - Duration: 4:59.

From Washington, this is VOA news.

Hello, I'm Steve Miller.

The 2017 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded and Lisa Schlein has that story.

Winner of this year's Nobel Peace Prize, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear

Weapons, says it is honored to be recognized for the work it has done to open a pathway

to a nuclear-free world.

The group, a coalition of non-governmental organizations in 100 countries, was instrumental

in bringing to fruition the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

ICAN's singular achievement, the nuclear ban treaty, was adopted July 7 by 122 countries.

Lisa Schlein, for VOA news, Geneva.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders declined to elaborate on the cryptic

message President Donald Trump made on Thursday evening.

"You guys know what this represents?

Maybe it's the calm before the storm."

"What's the storm?"

"It could be ... the calm, the calm before the storm."

Sanders said, "We're never going to say in advance what the president's going to do,

and as he said last night in addition to those comments you're going to have to wait and

see."

She also denied that Trump was simply being mischievous in an effort to mislead reporters.

Las Vegas Undersheriff Kevin McMahill said that authorities have chased down more than

1,000 leads following the mass shooting that left 58 people dead and more than 500 injured.

"While some of it has helped create a better profiling to the madness of the suspect, we

do not still have a clear motive or reason why."

McMahill said they looked into the economic and political motives of Stephen Paddock but

still haven't been able to determine the shooter's motives.

This is VOA news.

Bangladesh on Thursday announced it will build one of the world's largest refugee camps to

house all the 800,000 plus Rohingya Muslims who have sought asylum from violence in Myanmar.

The arrival more than half a million Rohingya Muslims from Buddhist-dominated Myanmar since

August 25 has put an immense strain on camps in Bangladesh where there are growing fears

of a disease epidemic.

Peter Meyers, the head the Norwegian Red Cross, is in the area and working with Bangladesh

partners to treat those who need it.

"So, we are here to set up a few hospitals for approximately 100 patients for the time

being, that means impatient with beds.

And we're going to offer a health service for the population in the region."

The United Nations has praised Bangladesh's "extraordinary spirit of generosity" in opening

up its borders.

But UNICEF chief Anthony Lake and U.N. Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock said in an

appeal for $430 million to provide aid that "the needs of the Rohingya are growing at

a faster pace than our ability to meet them."

Police fired tear gas at opposition activists in Kenya's capital Friday.

Andrew Palczewski has the story.

Protests mounted in cities Friday calling for the sacking of election board officials

involved in August's canceled presidential vote.

Crowds gathered in Nairobi, the western opposition stronghold of Kisumu and the port of Mombasa

for the second time this week.

Kenya's Supreme Court voided the August 8 election citing irregularities without finding

any individual at the election board responsible.

With three weeks to go until a scheduled re-run of the vote, politicians from both sides have

traded insults and accusations.

The opposition is threatening to boycott the October 26 re-run if election board officials

are not removed and if parliament passes a proposed amendment to the election law that

would prevent the Supreme Court from annulling the results again.

Andrew Palczewski, VOA news.

U.S. Ambassador to Turkey John Bass is criticizing the arrest of a local U.S. Consulate employee

in Istanbul.

He said it was motivated by "revenge rather than justice" on the part of elements within

the Turkish government.

Bass made his comments Friday in the case of Metin Topuz, who has been taken into custody

Wednesday on terrorism charges.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is increasingly using his rhetoric accusations

of foreign conspiracy against his government and country.

Tropical Storm Nate gained force as it sped toward Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula Friday after

drenching Central America in rain that was blamed for these 21 deaths.

Forecasters said it was likely to reach the U.S. Gulf Coast as a hurricane over the weekend.

Evacuations in some offshore oil platforms in the Gulf have started.

Hello its Kinoshita Yuka (English subtitles by ~Aphexx~)

so today! tadaa! its a Lotteria Haul!

and just check these out will'ya all the packages are halloween themed they're so Kawaii

I'll read off everything that I bought today cheeseburger, hamburger teriyakiburger

yummy cheeseburger, ?ribeye? burger, runny tsukimi-egg tsukune, runny tsukimi egg yummy cheese

runny tsukimi-egg shrimp, runny tsukimi-egg rib sandwich bucket of kara-age chicken

and a bucket of fries and something I've wanted to try for a while a cheesestick

and yukimi mitarashi confection, yukimi cheese, and yukimi strawberry and sweet bean

an uji-matcha shake, a ?rasshi? shake a corn soup orange ginger and melon ginger

I bought so much stuff at once today

and you can't see it here but there are halloween products back here as well

and there are these called 'yukimi' (snowy) burger so if I don't eat them right away they'll melt away

so I'll be eating them first itadakimasu

I'm in such a hurry lol

this is the 'yukimi' snowy cheese the mochi is... just look its so soft and melty

unfortunately the ice cream isn't cold anymore but since its a yukimi its ice cream and mochi and so good

its so yummy and the ice cream is melted into the bun and its so yummy

and the mochi in it is the 'bestest' part of it

this is the yukimi with 'adzuki' sweet bean

this one is gonna be messy as well

its even got strawberries making it so yummy

and the adzuki sweet beans go so perfectly with the mochi ice cream 'yukimi'

this is the yukimi with mitarashi sauce (sweet soy sauce)

the ice cream is made both sweet and salty and the sliced almond make it extra tasty

the yukimi series of ice cream mochi burgers were so yummy

ice cream needs to be eaten quickly before they melt yummy things have such a short window of time to eat them

so I've got a total of 9 burgers to eat

this is a Jack O' Lantern such a nice party-like feel to it

I think its the shrimp burger

the shrimp katsu is so crispy and the bun is so fluffy

this also has a halloween design to it its orange ginger

the carbonation is so refreshing

and this is my first time trying this .... its a cheese stick

must be mozza cheese? its so chewy and delish

I feel as though if you split this in half the cheese will stretch

it has an crazy stretch to it its a very chewy type

the tartar sauce on this shrimp burger is so yummy

the bucket Kara-age - ette chicken is pretty yummy I think its my first time trying these kara-age-ette (cross between kara-age and nuggets)

this is a runny tsukimi egg shrimp burger (tsukimi to celebrate the harvest moon the egg looks like a moon)

its got egg in it

the egg white is so plump and jiggly and so yummy

the tsukimi goes pretty nicely with the tartar and and shrimp burger

egg serves all sorts of purposes

this is a melon ginger the melon has that refreshing ginger flavor that is yummy

next is this this must be a bat

this is a cheezy runny tsukimi egg

the wrapper on just like the jack o lantern one before have halloween burger written on them

the burgers without a wrapper dedicated to them get a jack o lantern or a bat I guess

the cheese looks so yummy

the burger patty is seasoned with pepper and goes so nicely with the egg and cheese

next is a pork rib sandwich made into a tsukimi burger

can't see the yolk on this one

this sandwich is so narrow and so easy to eat that's so nice and convenient

the pork rib is so meaty and has a meatier mouthfeel than a burger patty. its so yummy

the bun is so nice and chewy

next is the last of the halloween burgers

this is probably the premium cheese burgers

the patty is so ?soft? and you can taste the spicy pepper. its very yummy

the cheese goes nicely in this

I ran outta drinks here

last up is the tsukimi egg tsukune burger (chicken meatball)

the tsukune is so yummy such simple flavorings and its such a japanese-y flavor that is yummy

the tsukune is so savory

the yolk and tsukimi go gre~~~~

umm I mean the yolk and tsukune go great the word tsukune and tsukimi are so similar its easy to mix them

last mouthful itadakimasu

gochisosamadeshita the limited edition lotteria products were so yummy

they had all sorts of haloween-like designs that were truly KAWAII

I totally felt like they'd be perfect for parties

and there were so many products in the tsukimi lineup they were so yummy

and I especially like the tsukimi~~~~

I gone did it again I said tsukimi again

the tsukune especially were so like those you get at yakitori shops and it was great in this tsukimi burger

the yukimi mochi ice cream burgers were super yummy as well

ice creams and breads are yummy together but when you do that with a yukimi it is so

very yummy since its got that added mochi to it these were all so yummy won't you all give them a try?

and as always thanks for watching and if you want me to try something or eat something please tell me about

BUSHCRAFT- Sience of Wilderness S01E07 firesteel, Tramping - Duration: 30:10.

This episode is going to be a bit different to the other episodes,

and the topics we usually talk about.

We will not talk about classical bushcraft now, but about

so called tramping.

We don't have a specific word for it.

"clochard"

That's... that's...

We might call it "urban bushcraft".

Stealth camping

as a rule is practiced in a way that

we arrive to the camping place

after sunset, and leave before sunrise.

So, everything is set during the night.

That's why I couldn't document most of my "camps" now.

Hitchhiking is a kind of filter.

Errrr...

When hitchhiking you meet only good people who wish to help someone.

BUSHCRAFT- Science of Wilderness

In the last episode we left our hero

to hang on an imaginary cliff

with a grass bouquet in his hand.

Will he be able to make fire?

If not

Will he be able to survive this chilly summer night?

Will he remember he has a lighter?

Watch in an exciting sequel, right after commercials.

So, when we want to make it glow

we shoudn't blow into the amber,

but... OH, HERE IT IS!

Because

if we blow

we can... and now,

How do we proceed with making fire.

From here, we're putting the twigs the size of a match.

After those

we're putting

the twigs the size of a pencil.

Ouch!

And when they catch on...

This was unexpected.

I thought... it looks like the grass is actually dry.

Unlike the wood.

And last it's the twigs the size of a thumb.

When those light up.

Most people

when doing this. When they're putting on these twigs,

that we need to prepare in advance.

The trick is to prepare the twigs in advance.

The grass bundle also, and everything else.

Because if we start doing that after... oops...

if we start doing that after we

created the amber

it's already late.

No way to make it in time then.

This tipped over, so I need to fix it, but as a rule...

What's the mistake that people... when I see people...

making fire...

the mistake they make...

A plane...

What's the mistake that people usually make?

When making a fire.

Even if I prepare these twigs for them...

You need three bundles of twigs of different size.

The size of a match,

the size of a pencil,

and the size of a thumb.

It doesn't have to be exactly, like, OSD

but, roughly those diameters.

So now, I give it to them, and let them light a fire

and what they do, after they light the tinder,

they're throwing in the twigs, and it looks to them

illogical to just throw them in like that,

so they start arranging them in a campfire formation.

There's no way to make it like that.

The right way is for them to be parallel to each other,

so as to have the least space between them

The space between the twigs should be equal to the diameter of those twigs.

You need air to get it burning, but

just a little bit, because...

what's important for fire? The important three things for fire are

heat, air, and fuel.

The fuel, it's these twigs.

The air is the air that flows trough that space between them.

And heat, we get heat

only if the twigs are close enough to

support each other.

If they're too far away from each other, the fire is out, because there's not enough heat.

If they're too close there's no airflow. So the fire is out again.

It means that there has to be optimal distance.

When it's small twigs the distance between them should be equal to the thickness of that twig.

Now, I'll show you some other ways of lighting the fire.

This one was the most demanding.

That's why we did it first, and it's also the most primitive one

so, naturally it goes respectively.

I should put this out now.

The hobo phenomenon it self

came into being by 1890 in America

It was the time when a lot of people lost their jobs

so they decided to use the railway

as cost free transportation to search for jobs.

Actually, the term hobo means a wanderer looking for a job.

And they are in general working or looking for a job,

While a tramp will work

if the situation forces him to.

But his preferred way is not to work, just to travel around.

A lot of delta blues musicians traveled this way, and lived this way.

This even determined their music.

Because this way of traveling

gives you a different wiew

on life.

When we travel like this. Hitchhiking.

One of the most important things

has to be comfortable clothes and footwear.

Especially footwear.

It's important to have very good sandals.

These sandals may not look the most comfortable,

but they are the best thing in the world.

They're natural, made of natural materials.

The foot is in perfect contact with the ground.

Natural contact, actually.

When you just start wearing something like this.

Something that's not designed to shape our foot.

Yes, there has to be an adaptation period.

But later...

because the foot it self,

moves in a different way than that.

The foot should naturally move

toe-heal.

What even some of the locals, that I talked to, don't know

is that there's a place in Istanbul where you can

sleep outside without anyone making you problems.

Because usually in Turkey when you're tramping

or stealth camping

you will often get a policeman

to wake you up.

He doesn't need anything. He just wants to wake you up, and tell you that you should take good care

of your things, and watch for the thieves. "Go back to sleep, please".

They're nice. They do it with a big smile.

This is the place where you can sleep by night.

-How are you sir?

I know it looks like a... -Thank you. -Where you from? - Bosnia, you?

?????

??????????????

Ah, nice.

-Good afternoon. -Good afternoon to you too.

-Which city?

-Sarajevo.

So, this is the place where it's possible to sleep

-I am going... I am sorry... these dogs are dangerous, you know?

- Are they?

So this is the place where you can sleep in Istanbul...

-This man also, he's from Sarajevo.

-Ah nice.

- He is from Sarajevo.

In every city, there's always someone who wants to talk to you when you're filming.

Er,

these dogs are friendly and they just want to run around and be in the shot.

OK, so

this is the place where you can sleep in Sofia

in Istanbul, sorry.

I know it looks like a bunch of gravestones.

Like it's made to lay corps on it.

But for me, this was, possibly the best sleep in a while.

While on the road, I slept in different places.

It was raining in Belgrade, so I

Had to improvise a shelter.

And also, since it was in the strict city center

it had to be hidden.

In Belgrade behind the gas station Avia

I had what I can describe only as a

mystical experience.

These things usually don't happen to me.

I was lying there. On the grass.

There is a nice gazebo here.

I was lying there the whole day. I've spent the whole day like that.

It was really nice and comfortable to just rest there.

And then, at some point...

because, as I was lying there

I was looking at the leaves.

There's this locust growing here,

and at one point, I felt...

I felt a sense of unity.

When people usually tell you this it sounds funny, but

after I felt this

I have no idea what triggered it. Lying on the ground?

Have I drown on the earth energy, or

was it simply being far away from home and unpredictability.

And...

it's funny that it happened in Belgrade, because

Belgrade, for me, is quite boring.

I'm not attracted to it.

It's a city for the outgoing people who like nightlife.

I'm not the type.

But after I had another mystical experience, last night, the second one in my life

it made me think. What is it with Belgrade?

Because these things don't usually happen to me.

Are there some toxic vapors here, hallucinations?

I'll try to look into the history or something.

See what it is.

I'm hitchhiking for years. And I sleep outside.

Traveling this way of is liberating

It gives us a feeling of

freedom and

helps overcome fears.

How many times have we went somewhere

in a strange city, strange country,

and felt afraid. What if we lose the return ticket? What if we lose our money?

What if we lose a passport? How will we go home?

You need to hold onto your passport.

All these other things are exchangeable.

Even if we lose our baggage.

Although, this is, as they say where I'm from,

Omnia mea mecum porto.

But even if we do lose all our stuff that we carry around.

There's always a way to get by.

It's possible to hitchhike back

from almost any place we happen to be.

And as long as we have our passport

we can be free as Diogenes.

While here, in Turkey, I wanted to find a beach where Diogenes slept in his barrel,

just to do an overnight in a barrel, as he did.

But why bother.

It was my plan for this year

to be the last of my trips made in this fashion.

I'm getting old, and I lost the enthusiasm for it.

But...

After a few days on the road, and after I get used to the feeling

it's just hard to let go.

Memories fade away, and I personally need this feeling

to feel like the government doesn't control me, and that Illuminati have no influence over me.

Although,

I admit. I did. I checked in two times.

I checked in once in Sofia, and once in Istanbul.

It was just so the Illuminati don't worry about me.

So I can tell them; the money you spent, you spent it in vain

I'd have sent you a postcard if you just gave me the address.

Because my card may contain traces of money.

Thank you.

When I was on Serbian border

They took me off the buss.

Only me. Everyone else stayed on the buss. They took only me from the buss

and they took all of my stuff out of the backpack.

They took it apart.

And I was waiting and looking at the guy doing it,

and his friend is standing in the doorway and asking

-Do you have any narcotics?

I said -NO!

No. I need some too.

Please, If you have someone, well split the money.

Where are you from?

I wanted to show that it's possible to travel with no money at all.

On some occasion Mors Kochanski said that if we happen to get into a survival situation

with not enough food, instead of

as they teach us on those satellite channels,

quickly go find some frog to eat it alive,

so as to make up for the proteins that we've lost,

Mors Kochanski says that we should simply fast.

A man can fast for 30 days, and

there was a case when a man fasted for 350 days.

It all depends on how much fat we have.

Since, luckily, I have enough fat

It wasn't a problem for me to fast.

Not all the time.

Whenever I was with someone, and I couldn't say "nothing for me thank you"

I accepted and ate some food,

but in between for two or three days in a row

I ate nothing.

I was surprised with how much more energy I have.

Because I would walk for 20 miles a day

and other than soreness, I had no wear or exhaustion what so ever.

The body is naturally adapted to use reserves of fat that we have.

During famine.

When there's no famine, on the other hand.

It's a problem when we eat a little bit during the day.

The body then expects more food.

It uses that food and asks for more.

This results in us being hungry, and having insufficient energy.

Another thing. In urban camping such as this

we can't cook.

Because we can't have fire.

I couldn't fit a gas cooker in this thing.

But i packed an alcohol stove.

It's this big.

I made it my self, and of course it broke while on the rode.

So I'll try and find two cans somewhere to make another one.

To make tea.

Yes.

Teas.

Herbal tea is what helps us

in these periods of fasting

because if we're not eating, we need vitamins.

That's the only thing we need.

And herbs are everywhere. I found chicory growing next to highways,

and chicory is a natural multivitamin.

Chicory infusion, burdock infusion

it helps us not to get sick.

This is a piece of a file.

I tried to forge something out of it, but then I gave up

so I

made this fire striker.

I simply broke it.

You just brake it. You put it in a vice,

you hit it with a hammer and it breaks.

and you break off a part as big as you need it.

And this is a rock.

They call it flint here, but

it's actually chert.

Until recently we didn't make a distinction here,

because we didn't have anyone interested in archeology of the stone age

and the geologist, also...

Anyway.

Today it's called chert.

The point of this rock is that it's harder than the steel

and you can fashion it into blades

if you break it the blade is created, so

what produces the spark?

When we strike the stone with the steel

a tiny part of the steel gets broken off.

The rock actually shaves it off.

And they are red hot as they're shaved off.

They're hot enough to light tinder.

for tinder, we'll use, char-cloth.

It's a piece of cotton that's charred.

I'll demonstrate, sometime in future, how it's made.

It's simple. It's made like charcoal.

The cloth is placed in a container

such as this, that has a lid.

You stuff it with cotton

There's a hole on the lid. I sealed it with wax now,

for the purpose of insulation.

And trough this hole the smoke goes out.

We close it. Put it in fire.

And the smoke runs out. When we don't see the smoke anymore, the char-cloth is ready.

I'll first check what side of the rock is sharp enough

to produce sparks.

If there's any

sharp one.

There. There was a few small sparks here.

But if it happens that none of the sides is sharp

you make one.

There.

So, now

we take

the

char-cloth.

We can also use natural materials.

We'll show that sometimes. We can use chaga.

Chaga is the mushroom that grows on a birch tree.

Chaga is the best material to catch sparks.

You need only to get it dry. No other preparation is needed.

It's ready to catch a spark just like that.

Most other materials need to be charred.

Here it is.

Hiroji Kubota - HOME Project Magnum Photos - Duration: 6:37.

If I don't see beauty in a subject, I don't photograph it.

A piece of my work costs at least $10,000-20,000.

Taking images that are not beautiful, I would be cheating.

If it's not beautiful, no one will buy it.

And the image must be unique, too.

I make no compromises.

Beautiful, isn't it? No comparison to an ordinary print.

< Is it dye transfer print? > Yes, of course. Eight, nine colors.

Only natural dyes create these beautiful colors.

Look at this spectacular 3D effect.

< When did you take this photograph? > In 1978.

Let me see if I find something interesting.

Anyway... I will do whatever I want to do.

I don't think about anything else.

Look, there must be about 750,000 slides.

And over there are a lot of large and medium formats.

No matter how good a digital camera is, you can't photograph the past.

All these moments I photographed are my treasure.

For the last 55 years, I've dedicated my life to photography.

I have never got a salary.

I always carry my camera with me…

… and almost everyday I take photos.

Pressing the shutter button makes me feel at ease.

The title is simply "Hiroji Kubota, Photographer".

Am I that famous? If so, it's OK.

The book compiles 55 years of my work.

It was very hard to complete this.

In 1963, I happened to be there at the March in Washington.

The presidential election of 1968 is one

of the most significant in US history.

Very few Asian journalists were there.

To get the job done I had to be recognized by the secret service agents.

And they did. So I could go everywhere to take photos.

Good moment, isn't it?

Which camera is this?

Is this a Fujifilm?

Yes, it is a Fujifilm.

Very impressive camera.

The lens has four different focal lengths.

I truly loved this.

I have to say, as a film photographer

those who started shooting with a digital camera,

have a different attitude towards photography.

But there's nothing wrong with this.

Things change as time goes by.

At some point, a new technology turns up

and replaces the old.

Japan consists of many islands.

Here is my home. I am a Japanese.

The Seto Inland Sea characterizes my country best, in my opinion.

The Inland Sea is dotted with small islands.

This complex scenery can be captured only from the sky above.

I want to shoot that spot again. Please turn to the right.

I have known the pilot for a long time.

We fly together often.

So he knows my preferences.

Let's turn here, otherwise we'll be facing the sun.

We change the lens. Please put on the 18mm (GF23mm).

And fix the 90mm Macro (GF120mm) to the other camera.

It's wonderful, isn't it.

Just one small fishing boat brings the image to life.

A photo that captures life becomes

more than a simple landscape shot.

Still on the way, I am still on the way.

Photography is the only reason I am living for.

Without photography, I am useless ... I think.

Photography is everything for me.

Flexbox Tutorial for Beginners #2 - Adding Spaces in columns - Duration: 9:43.

From our previous tutorial we are now aware of how to create a flexbox element.

In this tutorial we are going to understand how to

create these margins, that means we are going to add some margins here...

[Music...]

This is the final product that we are going to create in this tutorial.

Now this is in actuality the product that we are about to

transform into our final demonstration.

Another thing, if we want to create something like this with the aid of normal CSS that

we are aware of, in doing so, the first thing that we have done we had created a

mother-wrapper and we can see that the width of this box is 1000px.

Now inside this mother-wrapper we have created all these things.

This is the extreme left box that is going to reside in the extreme left end of

the page, this is the middle box where we have provided some of these margins over here

such that they keep a constant margin from both the ends; from the left box and from

the right box and here goes another extreme right box that will be floating right and

in doing so the syntax we had used here is the

'floating' condition.

That means with the aid of the floating condition, we have

prepared all these three div elements, all this 3 boxes and with the aid of clearfix

option in the middle we have maintained this particular margin from the extreme right

box and the extreme left box.

So this is the thing that we have prepared with the aid of

our normal CSS approach.

But what about if we use some kind of display flex option?

We will be using flexbox and with the use of

this flexbox we will be creating this part.

In this purpose we have created another mother-wrapper

which is known as 'motherbox11'.

And we can see that in this purpose we haven't

used any kind of width property over here.

Now if we come back to our project we can see that this is the display wrapper, the

mother-wrapper that is wrapping all of these kind of contents inside it.

So this is being the parent wrapper here, this is being

the parent div all we are going to do we are going to use the same term that we have

used previously, that means this 'display : flex' option.

As we have used this display flex option, now if we reload,

we can see that all these things, all those contains those are now practically getting

horizontal in nature and they are coming side by side.

Now if we do not provide any kind of this such element, such as this 'flex:1',

or this kind of thing that means by default, the flex value is 1; that means all of these

boxes those are practically having equal size.

Now in particular case, we are just adding justify-content:flex-start; in this

particular case all we have to do, first of all we have to create...

This attribute, we have to create this attribute here which is

known as flex-basis and we are providing it as 30%.

Now flex-basis is practically a replacement of width property.

Flex-basis denotes particularly length of a block element.

So you are rectifying, are stating that 30% is the 'flex-basis'.

Now if we use a flat 30% all along, now if we use a flat 30%

all along, now we can see if we reload that this is..

With the usage of 'justify-content' as 'flex-start', it is practically

getting started from the extreme left position.

Now instead of using 'flex-start', if we use flex-end, then the content

will be starting from the extreme end.

Instead of using 'flex-end', if we use 'center', reload, and your contents will be aligned

into the center, that means you have specified the flex-basis here first, you have specified

the length and now you have specified from where you are contents should be started,

whether it is from the extreme left or from the

middle or in the end position of your parent div.

Now all you want you want this 3 individual block elements doors will be equally spaced

from each other, and this is the prime concern that you are focusing on.

So all we need to do, we need to provide a certain property

which is known as 'space-between'.

Now if we reload we can see that your entire parent

div is used up but all this particular div elements, all these individual div elements,

those are maintaining a gap from each other which is equal in every cases.

You have used here 'justify-content: Space- between', you have used this 'flex-basis'

30%, now if you have a look around and you can

see that there are some properties those are common, except that some of them are uncommon.

Such as this background property.

Now this is another important CSS approach that

whenever you are creating a CSS, all you must ensure that all your common attributes, all

the common properties, those should be written into a single place, search that you

do not have to repeat it yourself.

But if you see here you can see that everything those

are getting repeated in every cases like child-box11, child-box22, child-box33; except

this background color, these attributes or properties - those are common.

So all we can do, first of all, copy this one.

Copy this things from here and paste them over here.

And delete the rest of these things.

With this approach we can see that child-box11,child-box22,

and child-box33, all of them are practically using these common attributes,

such as the colour property assignment, the padding property assignment, box-sizing and

flex-basis assignment.

In case of a block element or any kind of element if you are

using a padding all you need to do you need to

mention this thing box-sizing, or you may do some manual calculation that how many space

should be left after this or after that.

So instead of that I think using box-sizing is

the best option.

Now we have used all of them into a single place, and the rest thing is the backgrounds,

which are different in every cases.

So Press control + s, get back to your project and

reload and now you can see that everything remains unaltered.

But the advantages of using this kind of CSS styling properties are: You don't have to

repeat all of these properties again and again recurrently.

That means you are getting free of error.

So up to this part I think it is done.

If you get into index.html, comment this thing out.

Reload and now you can see that still there is a horizontal scroller.

So in case of mobile responsiveness, there is a problem

which is going on.

We have to fix all these problems.

That is why in this particular case, i'll be referring to use an

@ media query.

So here I am calling this.

I'll be copying this thing from here and I will be pasting it here.

Now I am specifying a font size of..

There you go.

Press control + s, reload and now you can see that

it is not getting back in action.

So we have successfully created this particular margin and padding thing.

We have added some margin in to our flexbox element, and

then we have made some kind of media query.

And if you now see it into a larger preview you can see that every single block

elements, they are practically maintaining an equal gap from both end.

So we have successfully placed them all along.

That's it for today's tutorial.

In the next tutorial we are going to understand some

more properties.

If you guys have liked this tutorial then do not hesitate to hit that

red subscribe button.

Hope to see you guys in our next tutorial.

Till then, bye..

that I'm planning to do on this channel. Which is I'm going to be reading Les Misérables.

And I just thought the best way for me to do this is, because it's such a long book,

it's like 1,400 pages or something, so I thought the best way for me to do this is

every now and then make a little video of where I am right now and talking about what's happening in the book,

and how that compares to the musical.

Because this is why I want to read this book in the first place, I LOVE the musical so much.

I've seen- I've seen it twice, I own the 25th anniversary recording dvd thing,

I don't like the film but I love the musical so much and so I just really want to read this book,

because I just want to know the story, the book the musical is based on,

because I love the musical so much and so I'm gonna be reading this book,

which is huge and which is why I'm as I said doing these videos.

Because I think this is a way for me to kind of pay more attention to it,

and maybe you like Les Misérables as well and you're interested in this.

You can also I guess read along if you like. I don't think I'm gonna be able to upload very regularly,

because I have a lot of other books that I need to read because of uni,

I have a lot of other books that I really want to read,

and this is just something that I really want to be something that's just an ongoing thing

until I finish it. And basically the way that I'm planning to do this is, this book is separated into five parts,

and each part has different books. So the first part for example has eight books,

and I've read the first two books so far. And I'm planning to do a video when I'm halfway through a part.

More or less. So I guess I'm- that's how I'm gonna do this. So I still have two books to read in this,

and then I'm gonna do the first video and then once I've read the other four books I'm gonna do the other video,

and then I've finished part one.

That's how I'm gonna try to do this. I'm gonna see if that works with like the amount of stuff that happens,

and the amount of things that I have to say.

But that's how I'm right now planning to do this. And if it doesn't work I'm gonna change it but yeah,

that's the basic idea. And yeah, as I said I just really want to read the book in general,

and then I also want to see where there are changes and where there are things that are basically the same

compared to the musical. I'm gonna be reading this book which is the Signet Classics,

I don't know if you pronounce it like that, but it's this grey mass market paperback.

I own another version which I got last year. Which is this beautiful Penuin Clothbound Classics.

And I started reading this when I got the idea of like reading it in general and doing these kind of videos,

and I started reading this, I read the introduction. And it turned out that this is an abridged version.

The translator talks about things that he left out and why he did that and I was thinking no,

I don't wanna do that, I wanna read the entire thing. So I looked online and I found out that this is the only unabridged version in the English language

that there is out there. So if you wanna read it in English I would suggest doing this one.

Also this one is ten years older, the translation from this one. This one was translated in 19- I think 78,

and I think this one was translated in 1987 or something. So there's about ten years between these translations.

And I think there's also- there might be a different theory of translation,

because in the introduction of this book which is translated by Norman Denny,

he talks about how he left out certain parts in order for it to be more readable,

and that the task of a translator is to capture the writer's intention basically,

and I was sitting there with my poststructuralist views like 'uh the author is dead' [laughs]

but anyways, so that was the old translation and then this is the newer translation,

which is by Lee Fahnestock and Norman MacAfee. And they based this transl- their translation on a translation from the nineteenth century

by Charles E. Wilbour. And here in this introduction they said that you can't leave anything out,

because everything is important, because everything contributes to the atmosphere.

So yeah, this is why they translated the entire thing, didn't leave anything out,

and this is why I'm gonna read this book bascially.

And I thought before I go, I'm just gonna briefly talk a bit about what I learned from the introduction,

bascially what I learned from both of these introductions.

Basically it took Victor Hugo almost 20 years to write this book,

but he started it I think he wrote the first draft in three years, then put the draft down,

didn't touch it again, and then finished it lots of years later, I think twelve years later.

And it took him about two years to finish it.

And in that time period between the first draft and the second draft and the finishing of the book

his political stance changed a lot. He was always very much engaged in politics,

and he wrote a lot of political texts but he changed from being rather right-wing to eventually being a socialist.

So this older view of the world basically is reflected in the first draft. So what he did when he revised the entire thing was that he inserted a lot of comments,

he didn't revise the thing, he didn't take out his first comments from things he probably didn't agree with anymore,

but he just wrote a comment and inserted a lot of things. So I haven't encountered that yet,

but that's bascially what's going to happen a lot in this book.

So the- the second draft was finished while he was exile. He grew up basically kind of under Napoleon,

his father was very high up in the military, and he experienced a very cosmopolitan, a very privileged education,

but once Napoleon uhm, basically called himself the emperor, Hugo didn't like that,

he was opposed to Napoleon being the Napoleon being the emperor and because of that he had to flee the country,

and he lived in exile and that's where he finished this book.

So I thought that was kind of interesting as kind of a backdrop on this novel.

Also when he started reading this book, literature was very much in the ideals of the Romantic period,

and that's the way this entire book turned out. He continued writing it like that even when he revised his second draft.

But when he finished the book, the literature style had changed to Realism.

So a lot of writers at the time who now wrote Realism didn't like at all how he wrote like that,

you know these ideals and you know just Romanticism. They were very much opposed to that.

But still, especially with younger people and younger writers, they really liked this book,

and this is kind of I guess how it survived the Realist critics, and how it's still here today,

and how we can see the musical and how this book is in my hands right now.

So I'm really, really excited to read this book. As I said, I've already started this book,

I'm about 100 pages in and I'm really loving it so far. And it's a lot of fun reading this and having the musical in the back of my mind,

and just doing little comparisons. So I'm really excited to read this book,

I'm really looking forward to doing this series.

So that was basically everything that I wanted to say in this video,

if you've read Les Misérables, if you've seen the musical, or if you've seen the film or whatever,

do tell me if you like Les Misérables. I love Les Misérables,

so let's talk about Les Misérables. [laughs]

I'm hoping to see you in this little series and thank you very much for watching,

I will see you in my next video. Bye!

[MV Theory] IU - Last night : Me Mad = IU Mad [SKOPF] - Duration: 4:57.

Hi Im MV Theory OTAKU SKOPF

IU was worried about the role of self to be always young girl in public.

So IU flees from what the media wants,

and "Where am I going? Where is my true self?" I started worrying.

Maybe this time I'm not sure we will be the very first to have true inner thoughts of IU.

After that came out 'palette' music video is how IU can be great as a single woman artist,

it just showed that you can not even have that much attraction in itself.

And last night's music video of this time also showed the recreation of male artist's song as a female artist.

So how did it change, so let's take a look at the story?

The basic story is roughly this :

IU came back from a party.

It might have been a fun party, but IU looks somewhat depressing.

We can see why she reminds me of last night's memories.

The guy IU liked at last night at the party was popular.

Conversely, IU was lonely between the people at the party ... (Korean expression -JJa Gae Sick Oat Da. - Get alone)

Because of this situation, as shown for the feelings of this annoying IU,

video has hit, smash, appeared to object to the hysterical behavior.

The original song is the title song of last night's story of SoBangCha(the fire truck) first album released in 1987.

And five years before I was born.

SoBangCha, a three-member dance group that showed off a colorful acrobatic performance and appeared like a comet.

Their popularity has been tremendous.

I swear

The original song is a song expressing emotions that a man adores a woman who was at a party.

While the original song is male,

the remake of the song is female, so there is a difference in the sensitivity that you can feel in both songs.

As for the original song,

a woman who attends the party in accordance with the social atmosphere of the time receives a dash from many people as a party 'flower'.

Men, the speaker of the song, expressed emotions of jealousy as men without knowing the emotions of the women.

But while the IU sing the song mood of the song is a bit different.

The flower of the party changes from woman to man,

and the woman expresses the love and jealousy that she feels honestly 'Hate You now'.

IU will eat sweet candy to solve this in mind,

has bath with the warm water,

and also, she called the overnight ...!

He does not answer the phone.

IU is annoying.

She can not sleep and watch TV.

It's the same behavior I do when I'm annoyed.

And one ad captivates the eyes of IU.

A hot item that is essential to X generation

It is also best to spend money when you get piss up.

Isn't it? only me?

IU is to imagine herself wearing this cool headphones.

The item turns round and round, and she turns round and round ...

More and more she will come back to the party last night.

IU has suffered.

Makeup is gradually getting wiped out and hugry.

She can't controll irritability and depression.

When I'm mad, I'm just eating something again & again.

I have something in common with her.

The difference is she is cool and not me. T_T

This was a wonderful end of the dance IU.

The clock starts to alarm as if it is pointing at 5:15 am.

And IU

smash it

IU is through the "Hyori's House", unveiled herself.

We think about 'IU', not any more "smart young girl", "sister of nation",

think that "A artist speak her voice&mind and identity".

What about the next album? It is an artist who is looking forward to the future.

IU clearly express the music of SoBangCha feeling as her own style.

It would be nice if my approach to MV Theroy and the artist was interesting and sympathetic,

and would be grateful if you clicked to subscribe.

It was MV Theory OTAKU SKOPF. Thanks.

【MUKBANG】 Lotteria's Halloween Theme IS So Cute!! & Moon Viewing..Etc [21 Items] 6133kcal[Use CC] - Duration: 8:54.

I feel as though if you split this in half the cheese will stretch

it has an crazy stretch to it its a very chewy type

the tartar sauce on this shrimp burger is so yummy

the bucket Kara-age - ette chicken is pretty yummy I think its my first time trying these kara-age-ette (cross between kara-age and nuggets)

its nicely flavored and sauces are yummy they're so tender and yummy

next up is this ~wut up with this? is it a dog monster?~

oh they wrote what kind of burger they are this is a cheese burger

the cheese burger is a dog monster

lotteria always has such fluffy buns its a simple arrangement of a patty, cheese and ketchup

this is a matcha shake

its pretty good a normal matcha shake

yup... its tasty this is a ?lassi? shake

its a ?rassi? flavored shake its just as the name says but its pretty good in shake form

this paw is... teriyaki burger

yumz lotteria's buns are super fluffy

can you tell how fluffy they are? guess you can't the sauces are so yummy as well

and this is a big eye

its a hamburger the regular kind

I love how they changed up all the wrappers on these

perfect for a halloween party

yum

this is also a jack o lantern but its a runny tsukimi egg

this is a runny tsukimi egg shrimp burger (tsukimi to celebrate the harvest moon the egg looks like a moon)

its got egg in it

the egg white is so plump and jiggly and so yummy

the tsukimi goes pretty nicely with the tartar and and shrimp burger

egg serves all sorts of purposes

this is a melon ginger the melon has that refreshing ginger flavor that is yummy

next is this this must be a bat

this is a cheezy runny tsukimi egg

the wrapper on just like the jack o lantern one before have halloween burger written on them

the burgers without a wrapper dedicated to them get a jack o lantern or a bat I guess

the cheese looks so yummy

the burger patty is seasoned with pepper and goes so nicely with the egg and cheese

next is a pork rib sandwich made into a tsukimi burger

can't see the yolk on this one

this sandwich is so narrow and so easy to eat that's so nice and convenient

the pork rib is so meaty and has a meatier mouthfeel than a burger patty. its so yummy

the bun is so nice and chewy

next is the last of the halloween burgers

this is probably the premium cheese burgers

the patty is so ?soft? and you can taste the spicy pepper. its very yummy

the cheese goes nicely in this
