Star Trek, I Love Lucy, and The Prisoner are some of the greatest television shows of all
time.
But they also share another surprising connection: each of those classic shows has had an episode
banned.
And they aren't alone.
So what could cause a beloved series like Mister Rogers' Neighborhood to to get yanked
from the airwaves?
Here's a look at why these TV episodes were banned.
Star Trek: Patterns of Force
The original Star Trek was ambitious in its attempts at social commentary.
With the episode Patterns of Force, though, some folks in Germany thought those efforts
went too far.
That's because the episode involved an alien planet under Nazi-like rule - so Nazi-like
they even used actual Nazi uniforms and symbols.
Luckily Kirk and Spock intervene and set up a peaceful government instead, but that didn't
keep this episode from being banned in Germany for decades.
I Love Lucy: The Ricardos Visit Cuba
When Lucy, Ricky, and family traveled to Cuba in 1956, everybody in America had a big chuckle
at Lucy's hilarious fish-out-of-water hijinks.
But after Cuba became a communist regime under Fidel Castro, people stopped laughing, and
this episode was banned from reruns for "almost a decade" despite the fact that it's essentially
just one bad cigar gag after another.
Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood: Conflict
The central focus of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood was always on teaching moral lessons to children
through stories and songs.
So how do you explain the Cold War to kids?
Why, with a multi-part epic storyline where King Friday begins stockpiling bomb-making
materials because he believes Southwood is gearing up to attack Make-Believe.
The result sounds more like Team America than Mr. Rogers, with puppets engaging in espionage,
political paranoia, and teaching lessons on air raids and gas mask use.
"Last time we pretended the people of Southwood were very much like the people of the neighborhood
of Make-Believe.
They certainly weren't people who were building bombs for a war the way King Friday thought
they were."
The episodes actually continued to air in normal rotation until 1996, but haven't been
seen since, other than a few recent attempts to use them as current political commentary.
Star Trek: The Next Generation: The High Ground
This episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation featured Picard and the gang getting involved
in a civil war that was a very thinly veiled commentary on the Irish Troubles.
So thinly veiled, in fact, that the planet's fictional timeline is actually a timeline
of the Troubles, and Data even directly references the conflict.
"And it appears that terrorism is an effect way to promote political change.
Yet there are numerous examples when it was successful.
The independents of the Mexican state from Spain, the Irish unification of 2024."
That didn't go over well in the UK or the Republic of Ireland, especially since the
episode aired just a few months after an IRA bomb attack at the Royal Marines Music School
in Deal in southern England that killed 11 and wounded 22.
As a result, the episode was banned for almost two decades before finally airing in 2006.
Ironically, the episode was originally meant to be about the American Revolution.
In the book Captain's Logs, writer Melinda Snodgrass explained that she was ordered to
make the change by her bosses.
I wanted it with Picard as Cornwallis and the Romulans would have been the French, who
were in our revolution, trying to break this planet away.
Suddenly Picard realized he's one of the oppressors.
Instead, we do 'Breakfast in Belfast,' where our people decide they're going to go off
to Northern Ireland."
The Prisoner: Living in Harmony
This episode of the surreal series The Prisoner featured a novel method of trying to psychologically
break down the protagonist Number 6 by placing him within a virtual reality simulation of
an Old West community and trying to coerce him into playing the role of sheriff.
The character refuses, though, which may or may not have led to the episode being banned,
as some felt it was a commentary about conscientious objectors avoiding the Vietnam War draft.
Officially, the episode was actually banned because of the show's portrayal of mind-altering
drugs, but since many episodes dealt with drug use and still aired, sensitivity about
Vietnam seems to be a more likely explanation.
The Big Bang Theory
China is pretty ban-happy when it comes to imported shows.
They don't need much of a reason, which is good, because they didn't have much of a reason
when it comes to outright banning The Big Bang Theory entirely.
The show is actually quite popular in China, or at least, it was until the State Administration
of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television pulled the plug.
Exactly why is a matter of debate, but some feel it's because of the rise of diaosi, which
originally was a pejorative term for broke loser guys without jobs or girlfriends.
Now, though, the term has been embraced by a generation of young geeks proud of their
so-called loser status who see the characters in The Big Bang Theory as role models.
And that scares China.
Which is great, because the idea of Sheldon Cooper as a counter-cultural iconoclast threatening
to destabilize the social order of one of the biggest nations on Earth is actually more
entertaining than any plot the show could have ever come up with.

2018 Ford F-150 – Review and Road Test - Duration: 8:05.
If you think modern full-size pickup trucks are big and dumb
you're only partly right. Case in point, this F-150. It might be big but it
is not dumb. Quite the contrary Ford has approached this generation
F-150 as a literal test bed, switching its bed and cabs construction from steel to
lightweight aluminum helping improve fuel economy and performance. Inside the
aluminum body is a seriously functional cabin. The seats are comfortable and
supportive, the armrests are well positioned, even though that one is way
over there, there's lots of door storage space, and a really huge bit of storage
here in the center console. Look there goes the medical tape. Up front you've
got a couple of itemized spots where I guess I can put my wallet with more
space than I really need. Up top yet another - storage bin. The F-150 is a
little like an industrial loft. It is a great place to live and work.
Buyers can spec their F-150 in regular, super cab, and super crew layouts but for
carrying people the super crew is definitely the play. Legroom is
outstanding, unlike the cozier super cab. A flat floor means sitting in the middle
position is not some sort of punishment and easy flip up seats mean you can
store your gear safely inside away from the elements and thieves, Tim. And these
channels look like they're expertly crafted to carry, I don't know, large
shipments of wine. Maybe my mom needs an f-150. Sorry, mom.
Of course cabin plushness varies by trim. The basic XL trim comes drenched in easy
to clean plastic but higher trims offer increasingly luxurious appointments.
Nothing caps a hard day on the job like cooled and massaging seats...I'm assuming.
Reviewing cars isn't a real job
Speaking of real jobs if you plan to haul more than just air you've got three
choices. A six and a half foot bed or optional 8 foot cargo box
come on the regular and super cab models while the super crew offers bed lengths
of five and a half and six and a half feet.
The F-150's bed is a perfectly functional space to haul stuff but it should be
noted that a damp tailgate does not come standard. F-150, dropping at old school.
Also, the optional tailgate step does make it easier to get in and out of the
bed but this one doesn't have it so roll the b-roll while I parkour my way into
the bed.
For easier bed loading check the option sheet where you'll find pop-out side
steps, integrated loading ramps, a bed extender / divider, and a damped remote
release tailgate or an assistant closing tailgate with an integrated step.
As a big capable truck you might expect the F-150's road manners to be unrefined
but that's not really the case. Okay there are the normal live rear axle
jitters over bumps but otherwise ride quality is good. The brakes feel
confident, interior noise is suppressed unless I'm making my bag bounce around
in back, and outward visibility is surprisingly good in all directions. A PT
Cruiser! I'm so sorry. A slow steering ratio and comparatively
wide turning circle make confined maneuvering a challenge but if you've got
the dough the option list makes nearly every aspect of driving much much easier. Ok, not this one.
All the others. And, I'm up over the curb. There's a 360-degree camera system for confident
parking, automatic Park Assist for effortless parking, and Pro trailer
backup assist that makes backing up a trailer as simple as turning a knob. On
top of that there's full range adaptive cruise control, pre collision assist with
pedestrian detection, Lane Keeping Assist, and blind spot monitoring that even
accounts for a trailer. Clever. Where engine choices are concerned there are
plenty including an eager and reasonably efficient 3.3 liter V6, a 2.7 liter
EcoBoost v6, a 3.5 liter EcoBoost v6, and for those who hate forced induction a
naturally aspirated 5 liter V8. The base V6 features a 6-speed automatic but the
rest of the lineup uses a 10 speed unit that knocks out nearly undetectable
shifts. Standard on all engines is a fuel saving automatic engine start/stop
system though you'll need to deactivate it on hot days to keep the
air-conditioning working at stoplights. To exploit the F-150's 13,200 pound
maximum tow capacity choose the 3.5 liter but for less extreme towing we
highly recommend the 2.7 liter EcoBoost. The two-seven will tow 8,500 pounds, it
costs a modest 995 dollars versus the base engine, and it returns the best fuel
economy in the f-150 lineup...at least until the 3 liter turbo diesel finally
shows up.
Before moving on we should mention the $51,000 f-150 Raptor whose wide track,
high output 3.5 liter EcoBoost v6, and Baja-worthy suspension enable
unsurpassed off-road thrills. Seriously don't you wish this was you?
For more-grounded off-road adventures non-Raptor f-150s can be equipped with
four-wheel drive and an FX for off-road package. MSRP for a regular cab XL trim
with six airbags, trailer sway control, manual AC, an am/fm radio, and a backup
camera with dynamic hitch assist begins below 29,000 dollars including $1,300
worth of destination chargers. However we think the volume leading XLT is a
worthwhile upgrade. It starts around $34,000 for a regular cab with power
windows and mirrors, a power tailgate lock, and a six-speaker audio system
featuring bluetooth and USB ports. Budget an extra $2,900 for
the Super Cab and $5,200 for the super crew. With even
more budget you can nab an intuitive eight-inch Sync infotainment system,
navigation, heated rear seats, inflatable rear seatbelts, LED headlights, LED box
lighting, a factory spray in bedliner, and passive entry with push-button start, a
feature inexplicably not offered by GM and Toyota. Spend lavishly and you can spec
an F-150 limited trim to the tune of $67,000 though
prices for pickup trucks are frequently incentivized so shop around. Given the
loyalties of truck buyers you probably already have a brand allegiance but if
you're curious the full-size pickup truck field includes the GMC Sierra and
Chevy Silverado twins, the RAM 1500 with its smooth riding coil spring rear
suspension, the Nissan Titan with its standard 390 horsepower v8, and for
resale value enthusiasts and Toyota devotees the Toyota Tundra. Each entrant
has its strengths but the Ford stands out as exceptionally well suited to the
needs of truck buyers.
The Ford F-150 is smart, capable, and ruggedly-styled. In essence it does all
the things a pickup truck should do and it does them really well. It's also a
handy reminder that innovation comes in all sizes.

A Republican mayor's plan to replace partisanship with policy | G.T. Bynum - Duration: 13:34.
So last year, I ran for mayor of my hometown, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
And I was the underdog.
I was running against a two-term incumbent,
and my opponent ran the classic partisan playbook.
He publicized his endorsement of Donald Trump.
He publicized a letter that he sent to President Obama
protesting Syrian refugees,
even though none of them were coming to Tulsa.
(Laughter)
He ran ads on TV that my kids thought made me look like Voldemort,
and sent out little gems in the mail, like this.
[America's most liberal labor union has endorsed]
Never mind that "America's most liberal labor union,"
as defined by this ad, was actually the Tulsa Firefighters Union,
hardly a famed bastion of liberalism.
(Laughter)
Never mind that while she was running for president
and he was serving in his final year in that office,
Hillary, Barack and I could just never find the time to get together
and yuck it up about the Tulsa mayor's race.
(Laughter)
Never mind that I, like my opponent,
am a Republican.
(Laughter)
And so when something like this hits you in a campaign,
you have to decide how you're going to respond,
and we had a novel idea.
What if, instead of responding with partisanship,
we responded with a focus on results?
What if we ran a campaign
that was not about running against someone,
but was about bringing people together behind a common vision?
And so we decided to respond not with a negative ad
but with something people find even sexier --
data points.
(Laughter)
And so we emphasized things like increasing per capita income in our city,
increasing our city's population,
and we stuck to those relentlessly, throughout the campaign,
always bringing it back to those things
by which our voters could measure, in a very transparent way,
how we were doing,
and hold me accountable if I got elected.
And a funny thing happened when we did that.
Tulsa is home to one of the most vibrant
young professional populations in the country,
and they took notice of this approach.
We have in our culture in our city,
an ethos where our business leaders don't just run companies,
they run philanthropic institutions and nonprofits,
and those folks took notice.
We have parents who are willing to sacrifice today
so that their kids can have a better future,
and those people took notice, too.
And so on election day,
I, G.T. Bynum,
a guy whose name reminds people of a circus promoter ...
(Laughter)
a guy with the raw animal magnetism of a young Orville Redenbacher ...
(Laughter)
I won the election by 17 points.
(Applause)
And we did it with the support of Republicans and Democrats.
Now, why is that story and that approach so novel?
Why do we always allow ourselves
to fall back on philosophical disagreements
that ultimately lead to division?
I believe it is because politicians
find it easier to throw the red meat out to the base
than to innovate.
The conventional wisdom is that to win an election,
you have to dumb it down
and play to your constituencies' basest, divisive instincts.
And when somebody wins an election like that,
they win, that's true,
but the rest of us lose.
And so what we need to do is think about how can we change that dynamic.
How can we move in a direction
where partisanship is replaced with policy?
And fortunately, there's a growing bipartisan movement across this country
that is doing just that.
One of its heroes is a guy named Mitch Daniels.
Mitch Daniels served as George W. Bush's budget director,
and during that time,
he created what was called the PART tool.
The PART tool allowed people to evaluate a broad range of federal programs
and apply numerical scoring for them
on things like program management and project results.
And using this, they evaluated over a thousand federal programs.
Over 150 programs had their funding reduced
because they could not demonstrate success.
But unfortunately, there wasn't ever a well-publicized increase in funding
for those programs that did demonstrate success,
and because of this, the program was never really popular with Congress,
and was eventually shuttered.
But the spirit of that program lived on.
Mitch Daniels went home to Indiana,
ran for governor, got elected,
and applied the same premise to state programs,
reducing funding for those programs that could not demonstrate success,
but this time, he very publicly increased funding for those programs
that could demonstrate success,
things like increasing the number of state troopers
that they needed to have,
reducing wait times at the DMV --
and today, Mitch Daniels is the president of Purdue University,
applying yet again the same principles,
this time at the higher ed level,
and he's done that in order to keep tuition levels for students there flat
for half a decade.
Now, while Mitch Daniels applied this at the federal level,
the state level, and in higher ed,
the guy that really cracked the code for cities
is a Democrat, Martin O'Malley,
during his time as Mayor of Baltimore.
Now, when Mayor O'Malley took office,
he was a big fan of what they'd been able to do in New York City
when it came to fighting crime.
When Rudy Giuliani first became Mayor of New York,
crime statistics were collected on a monthly, even an annual basis,
and then police resources would be allocated based on those statistics.
Giuliani shrunk that time frame, so that crime statistics
would be collected on a daily, even hourly basis,
and then police resources would be allocated
to those areas quickly where crimes were occurring today
rather than where they were occurring last quarter.
Well, O'Malley loved that approach, and he applied it in Baltimore.
And he applied it to the two areas that were most problematic for Baltimore
from a crime-fighting standpoint.
We call these the kidneys of death.
[Baltimore homicides and shootings, 1999]
So there they are, the kidneys.
Now watch this.
Watch what happens when you apply data in real time
and deploy resources quickly.
In a decade, they reduced violent crime in Baltimore
by almost 50 percent, using this approach,
but the genius of what O'Malley did
was not that he just did what some other city was doing.
Lots of us mayors do that.
(Laughter)
He realized that the same approach could be used to all of the problems
that his city faced.
And so they applied it to issue after issue in Baltimore,
and today, it's being used by mayors across the country
to deal with some of our greatest challenges.
And the overall approach is a very simple one --
identify the goal that you want to achieve;
identify a measurement by which you can track progress
toward that goal;
identify a way of testing that measurement cheaply and quickly;
and then deploy whatever strategies you think would work,
test them,
reduce funding for the strategies that don't work,
and put your money into those strategies that do.
Today, Atlanta is using this to address housing issues
for their homeless population.
Philadelphia has used this to reduce their crime rates
to levels not enjoyed since the 1960s.
Louisville has used this not just for their city
but in a community-wide effort bringing resources together
to address vacant and abandoned properties.
And I am using this approach in Tulsa.
I want Tulsa to be a world-class city,
and we cannot do that if we aren't clear in what our goals are
and we don't use evidence and evaluation to accomplish them.
Now, what's interesting, and we've found in implementing this,
a lot of people, when you talk about data,
people think of that as a contrast to creativity.
What we've found is actually quite the opposite.
We've found it to be an engine for creative problem-solving,
because when you're focused on a goal,
and you can test different strategies quickly,
the sky's the limit on the different things that you can test out.
You can come up with any strategy that you can come up with
and utilize and try and test it
until you find something that works, and then you double down on that.
The other area that we've found that it lends itself to creativity
is that it breaks down those old silos of ownership
that we run into so often in government.
It allows you to draw all the stakeholders in your community
that care about homelessness or crime-fighting or education
or vacant and abandoned properties,
and bring those people to the table
so you can work together to address your common goal.
Now, in Tulsa, we're applying this
to things that are common city initiatives,
things like, as you've heard now repeatedly,
public safety -- that's an obvious one;
improving our employee morale at the city --
we don't think you could do good things unless you've got happy employees;
improving the overall street quality throughout our community.
But we're also applying it to things that are not so traditional
when you think about what cities are responsible for,
things like increasing per capita income,
increasing our population,
improving our high school graduation rates,
and perhaps the greatest challenge that we face as a city.
At the dawn of the 1920s,
Tulsa was home to the most vibrant African American community in the country.
The Greenwood section of our city was known as Black Wall Street.
In 1921, in one night,
Tulsa experienced the worst race riot in American history.
Black Wall Street was burned to the ground,
and today, a child that is born
in the most predominantly African American part of our city
is expected to live 11 years less than a kid that's born elsewhere in Tulsa.
Now, for us, this is a unifying issue.
Four years from now, we will recognize
the 100th commemoration of that awful event,
and in Tulsa, we are bringing every tool that we can
to address that life-expectancy disparity,
and we're not checking party registration cards
at the door to the meetings.
We don't care who you voted for for president
if you want to help restore the decade of life
that's being stolen from these kids right now.
And so we've got white folks and black folks,
Hispanic folks and Native American folks,
we've got members of Congress, members of the city council,
business leaders, religious leaders,
Trump people and Hillary people,
all joined by one common belief,
and that is that a kid should have an equal shot at a good life in our city,
regardless of what part of town they happen to be born in.
Now, how do we go forward with that?
Is that easy to accomplish?
Of course not!
If it were easy to accomplish,
somebody would have already done it before us.
But what I love about city government
is that the citizens can create
whatever kind of city they're willing to build,
and in Tulsa, we have decided to build a city
where Republicans and Democrats use evidence, data and evaluation
to solve our greatest challenges together.
And if we can do this,
if we can set partisanship aside
in the only state in the whole country where Barack Obama never carried
a single county,
then you can do it in your town, too.
(Laughter)
Your cities can be saved or squandered
in one generation.
So let's agree to set aside our philosophical disagreements
and focus on those aspirations that unite us.
Let's grasp the opportunity that is presented by innovation
to build better communities for our neighbors.
Let's replace a focus on partisan division
with a focus on results.
That is the path to a better future for us all.
Thank you for your time.

Here's a List Albums We're Still Waiting On in 2018 - Duration: 4:01.
Jinx here for Complex News.
We're living in an era of an endless stream of music, with 2017 serving as further proof
with a gang of albums dropping each week.
Even with that, it seems like it's not enough when it comes to some artists.
I'm talking about that particular group that we start the year hoping for a release, and
end the year with nothing.
Now we know that art takes time, but that doesn't stop us from giving a friendly reminder
that— —That we need these albums.
So without further ado, these are the albums that we're waiting on:
PUSHA T - KING PUSH Despite taking on the important role of President
of G.O.O.D.
Music, Pusha T hasn't brushed off any conversation about his forthcoming studio album: King Push.
But also keep in mind that he's been talking about this project for almost 4 years now.
I actually spoke with Push a few years ago where he told me that it was going to be a
Neptunes helmed project:
Welp... things have changed since 2014.
This summer we linked up again, and he told me that much has changed and gave a status
update:
But during that same discussion Push revealed that it's also no longer executive produced
by The Neptunes.
Instead, the project's sonics are being helmed by none other than Kanye West.
I'm be honest with y'all.
It doesn't matter what Pusha raps over, because he can take any beat and whip crack over it.
We just need our fix!
EARL SWEATSHIRT
Fans of Earl Sweatshirt have been waiting for a new full-length project since 2015's
I Don't Like Shit I Don't Go Outside.
Since then, we've gotten a few verses, like the one he crushed last year on Danny Brown's
"Really Doe" or the bars he spit on the Samiyam's tripped out boom-bapish "Mirror" or the work
he's done with producer Knxwkedge.
I've heard around that he's been working on new material, but none of that is directly
from Earl, nor has he delivered anything full length.
Instead he takes his time, and keeps his output measured and select.
So until he says it's a go... we'll be waiting.
Travis Scott's Astroworld is easily one of the most anticipated albums.
While we don't know what it'll sound like, it's largely due to him being one of the most
popular and exciting artists out right now.
He's currently providing the anthems that bang in the clubs, live in your headphones,
and turn into pure unfiltered chaos at his live shows.
It's also due to the fact that he's been talking about it since before the release of his last
album "Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight."
We should probably ease off him a bit, since he literally went on a streak of dropping
a project each year, with each one almost exactly a year apart with: Days Before Rodeo,
Rodeo, and Birds In the Trap Sing McKnight.
Also consider that he's been on tour the majority of the year and is said to be having a child
with Kylie Jenner.
So yeah... he's kind of busy.
But even if we don't get Astro World, there's still a chance we get the Travis and Quavo
"Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho" project soon—which is said to have been sent off for mixing.
THE INTERNET
The Internet is one of the more exciting groups in recent memory.
All talented in their own rights, each of them set out this year to release or work
on solo projects, resulting in Matt Martians' The Drum Chord Theory; Steve Lacy's "Steve
Lacy Demo" and Syd's "Fin" and "Always Never Home."
Seeing them flex their abilities on their own, allows you to see what they bring to
the group, but it's their combined powers that really shine.
Which is why fans are clamoring for a new project from the band.
They've remained relatively hush about it, but with this much output and a tight-knit
group, they're likely tossing around ideas and new material ahead of another project.
NICKI MINAJ
2017 seemed like the year that female rappers reminded everyone to not count them out.
We saw output from Dreezy, Rhapsody, Remy Ma, newcomer and superstar Cardi B, and even
Lil Kim, among others.
With Cardi running up the charts and landing a grammy nom.
While we await what's next for the Bronx emcee But it's all eyes on Nicki Minaj in 2018.
Having not dropped an album this year, but thrown around songs, from a few barbs (no
pun intended), Nicki is still the reigning queen of rap right now, having set the standard
of stardom.
With welcome competition, her fanbase and the rap community are waiting to see what
she does next.
With anything Nicki does, it's usually big and causes some news.
A well put-together album with something to say will be the foundation of her continued
dominance.
Okay... so those are just a few of the projects we're awaiting, but there are other artists
we've got on our radar like Chance The Rapper, A$AP Rocky, Rae Sremmurd, and of course Lil
Wayne's Carter V... which is still stuck in contractual Limbo.
We're dying to know who you guys are waiting for?
Fall thru the comments with your picks and the likelihood that they'll give us something
in 2018.

10 MCU Phase 4 Rumors That We Hope To Be True - Duration: 8:33.
Avengers infinity war is about to grace the theaters soon enough and we already
can't get enough of the trailer itself if all goes well MCU will rock the movie
world and push new records into the box office but what happens next after
phonos is dealt with what do the Avengers stand for here 10 mind-blowing
MCU phase 4 rumors that we hope to be true Iron Man for Robert Downey jr. is
on a roll right now he has become the flagship that defines the Marvel
Cinematic Universe right now but our DJ is not here to stay anymore he is all
set to step down from the mantle of the Iron Man or is he rumors arrived that
our DJ is going to return for another Iron Man movie the Mandarin will return
as the villain not the goofy Ben Kingsley version a real menacing one to
shiver everyone's whiskers in an interview with
Ellen DeGeneres in 2014 Robert Downey jr. said Iron Man 4 is almost a done
deal he hesitantly said yes to her on whether
he would do another outing as Iron Man but then there was a change of heart in
2015 and he said the Captain America Civil War was his little Iron Man for he
recently hinted that he would like to move on in his career in life before
Tony Stark also known as Iron Man becomes too embarrassing a Hulk movie
the enormous green rage monster is the second most favorite superhero among the
comic book fan base of Marvel Comics in the past there have been two independent
Hulk movies in the first one Eric Bana played the Green Monster while in the
second one Edward Norton was the Hulk finally Hulk was reintroduced into the
MCU and Mark Ruffalo is our near perfect Bruce Banner also known as the Hulk for
years fans have been demanding Hulk solo movie since the franchise was left
Midway without proper closure given the massive fan following of the character
he should get a solo movie tied to MCU storyline but Hulk has a shared right
with another productionhouse Universal Pictures now
with Disney getting on board for the second round of talks with the
production giant a halt movie just might be possible with Mark Ruffalo or an
outright recasting of the hero with a new actor playing the lead black whittle
movie Scarlett Johansson has been around the MC for far too long but under far -
less spotlight it has been a long-standing demand of fans to have a
Black Widow solo movie as the character is hugely popular and deserve a shot so
many times fans have raised their hopes in anticipation of an announcement from
the Marvel Studios but it never happened the god of Marvel Comics Stan Lee
recently attended supernova Comic Con in Brisbane Australia and he was asked
about the possibility of a standalone black widow movie he said funny you
should ask that he assured the fans that one day there will be a Black Widow
movie we should remember that Stan made a similar comment about gala when there
was no chance of securing a black panther movie Captain Marvel - Carol
Danvers also known as Captain Marvel is already getting her own movie she will
be seen heading an organization called sword that specializes in countering
extraterrestrial threats Skrulls will be the big bat of the movie according to a
new report the mysterious Kroll characters are
actually an elf daughter of scroll Emperor Doric seven skull Emperor and
Titanus he was part of super Skrull program Captain Marvel - if it ever
happens we'll need a fresh new alien threat but by then Captain Marvel would
have become the new leader of the Avengers or New Avengers
a blade reboot weasely Snipes as blade help it rise to be one of the most
action-packed movies of the supernatural genre but as a trilogy came to an end
blades popularity waned dr. strange has taken a center stage in the supernatural
aspect of the MCU maybe we see blade coming back to help strange to push back
more of the magical threats the Darkhold can make an appearance here it is almost
confirmed that we will see more magic and mysticism in the future MCU movies
beyond Avengers for Ghost Rider reboot Ghost Rider was awesome
the sequel not so much Ghost Rider has a lot of potentials but he hasn't been
portrayed right in the movie Nicolas Cage's maniacal acting skills are the
right tone for the rider but the production house and the direction is
not the rider belongs to the MCU it is the time the rumors aren't true about
him Marvel has just introduced a new cosmic version of Ghost Rider in the
comic book titled follows number 13 written by creative team of writer
Donnie Cates an artist Jeff Shaw he appears with bright red chains on a
flaming motorcycle streaking across the sky he is from the future endowed with
spirit of vengeance and cosmic powers as former Herald of Galactus he is black
light hand of the final king Marvel TV characters will star in their own movie
Marvel's daredevil Jessica Jones Luke Cage iron fist and agents of shield are
all great TV shows Marvel's the defenders was a TRP jannat which brought
huge Marvel fan community together rallying around arrows of my now that
Marvel has successfully launched defenders on small screen it is time for
the individual heroes of New York to star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or
maybe in their own separate movie spider-man to venom Spidey is already on
a roll with homecoming now with Peter Parker back into the MCU
there is already talk of a sequel which is definitely going to happen someday
and when it does the plot is already speculated to center around the Venom
symbiote it is difficult to imagine a movie like this would ever happen since
Fox owns the rights to venom but with Disney flux mega-deal all options are
open and studio should not go for the second-rate sinister six instead venom
is always the better choice for the villain a Secret Invasion movie scrolls
are already rumoured to be present in the MCU as per fan theories Captain
Marvel will truly address this long-held doubt and shed some light on the truth
about the presence of the shape-shifting villains in the Marvel verse but Skrulls
most acclaimed related story arc include the Secret Invasion arc and it is too
big to be compressed into one movie maybe the scrolls have already replaced
a plethora of Avengers maybe they are waiting for the perfect moment to strike
a whole new phase could be built on this rise of the Illuminati in the comics the
Illuminati consists of Iron Man Doctor Strange Professor X Black Bolt Namur and
Captain America each represents one facet of the superhuman community namely
technology magic Matan kind Inhumans Atlantis and humanity respectively
all of them except Professor X already exist in the MCU Marvel is negotiating
with Fox to bring the x-men back to the home team it is entirely possible for
the super secret organization to make an appearance in the MCU and eliminate
threats before they even happen like they do in the comics

10 NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS AMAZING for EVERYONE (lifestyle, organization, workout, and religion) - Duration: 5:36.
happy 2018 hey what's up guys my name is Shane Viaene for those of you
that a new for those of you that are not welcome back to my channel so what I'm going to be
doing today is doing my 2018 new year's resolution goals so basically I'm
telling you guys my new year's resolution so I can help inspire you
guys with New Year's resolutions because I don't sometimes they're really hard to
keep up with and also I'm doing it so you guys can keep me accountable because
some of them are YouTube and social media related so I want you guys to help
with that as well so my first New Year's resolution is to
take notes more so that's why I have this book and also they're all written
in this book as well so my 2018 New Year's resolutions my first New Year's
resolution is to go to the gym because I want to and I know a lot of people are
like oh yeah I want to go to the gym I want to just like I feel a lot of time
they feel the pressure to go to the gym because I have a membership and I want
to like get my money out of it so I want to obviously get my money out of it but
also I feel like I want to go Jews to improve my overall health and well-being
as a person so yeah my second goal for 2018 is to post on YouTube more I feel
like I've been slacking this whole year and I apologize to you guys so that's
why I'm trying to post more regularly on YouTube I have a bunch of new ideas
coming for you guys in 2018 and I want you guys keep me accountable tweet me
snapchat me and tell me I'm not uploading just tell me I thought I need
to upload and yeah so I hope you guys keep me accountable
so I third goal for 2018 is to read my Bible more I just recently got about for
my good friend fist and here it is it's great and it has like a really cool
finish to it so I just want to really get into the Bible more and read the
Bible more because I want to get deeper into my faith and along with reading my
Bible more so number four would be getting deeper with my small group we
have recently joined our small group in september/october ich area and I would
just wanted to go deeper like get in the deeper spiritual connection with them
and so I feel like for Christians especially it is a very good to come
together in community and just a small group of like-minded Christians as a
good support system for your face so the next one is I want to get involved with
my family more like I am super involved with my family but
we don't like go out and do stuff together we're all just like sit in
chill which is a lot of fun but I want to go out and like explore like do
things with my family and just basically just spend more quality time with my
family and the next goal for 2018 is I want to read more books I feel like I
actually actually just did this I bought a book and I didn't read it because I
don't have time but I think I need to like make time in my day for reading I
don't think I actually know this I need to make time for reading in my day I
think reading is just really good for not only like your growth mentally but
also like helps you helps your vocab you go bigger and your imagination so here's
a goal for you guys maybe you can write this down try to read it like 10 minutes
a day if you guys are like into reading if you are maybe 30 minutes like that
that's something like that could be really really attainable because 30
minutes of your day they go out is not that much so try 10 minutes a day and
then work your way up to like 30 or 40 maybe if you try so yeah that's a goal
for you guys for 2018 and then if you guys are going to which I really really
highly recommend you do comment that down below what you guys are going to be
reading in the new year because I need a new book to read obviously because I
don't read that much so the next one is to be confident in my body and I know a
lot of people might be like well you have a good body book but I just don't
feel super confident in my body and I really want to work on that 2018 I did
in 2017 I think I got pretty good but I just want to like get to the point where
I'm like super confident my body I'm like don't care what people say about it
because I think I have a good body but like sometimes I'm like do I really so I
think that's really important just to have like a good self-image of yourself
and I think reading this will help me on that another one that I find is really
really important is you're just fine joy not happiness joy because joy is a
choice happiness is a feeling I want to find joy in the small things just like
everyday simple things like coffee in the morning or like reading my book or
small times alone I want to find joy in those moments because I think a lot of
us especially in this day and age of like social media like happening quick
and happening fast we don't take time for joy and like the little moments in
our lives so I really want to just appreciate all of little moments in 2018
which I know it's gonna be super hard to because oh like life moves so fast but I
just want to sit down and just enjoy the small moments and so my last goal for
2018 is to be on social media less and that doesn't mean posting less or doing
less that just means like when you post something
host it and then like get off social media for a little bit and do something
else maybe stalk somebody less because we all know we enjoy a good in stalking
maybe maybe spend less time on Instagram because I know I spend so much time on
the explore page was scrolling through and scrolling through like mindlessly
and I just want to like get rid of that and find time for other things like
maybe reading a book maybe reading a Bible like going out and doing something
that you find is meaningful that's like not in the social world that actually
like means something like in this world so anyway that is all I have for this
video I hope you guys really did enjoy it you guys got some goals for 2018 out
of it because I know sometimes goals are hard like I said in the beginning but I
hope this gave you guys a few ideas and maybe you guys took some of my ideas and
also comment down below your guys's ideas so maybe I can pick up a few of
your guys's and if you guys did enjoy this video I
hope you guys give it a big big big thumbs up as always and also subscribe
down below and follow me on all my social media Twitter Instagram snapchat
I have a Pinterest but I never use it - same with Tumblr but anyway I hope to
see you guys later bye happy 2018

Power Query - Trim, whitespace and number conversions - Duration: 8:57.
I'm Marcel Beugelsdijk from The Netherlands
owner of Bemint and specialized in Power Query.
This video is about the Trim function in Excel and Power Query,
and about whitespace and about a function you can use to convert numbers to hexadecimal or
any other base and vice versa.
In Excel, if you have a text like this with leading and trailing spaces
and multiple spaces in between,
The Excel TRIM function would remove all spaces from a text string
except for single spaces between words.
So this would be the result from the Excel trim.
If we import this table in Power Query and we add a column ... Format ... Trim,
then only the leading and trailing spaces are removed,
and multiple spaces in between are kept.
If we take a look at this Power Query Functions Dashboard, the Trim functions,
there are 3 Trim functions in Power Query, Trim, TrimEnd and TrimStart,
and according to the function description,
the Trim function removes all leading and trailing whitespace.
So, big question is: "What is a whitespace?"
This is specified in the Power Query M language specification.
And in this document, section 2.4, whitespace characters are defined
as any characters with Unicode class Zs,
and some other specific characters of which the hexadecimal code is provided in this section.
I created a query,
called "WhiteSpaces".
There's a query summary you can read. All the steps are explained over here.
I created a table with in the first 2 columns the hexadecimal codes of
all whitespace characters and their description.
The source of these codes are this document,
so all the characters mentioned over here are included.
And with regard to the Unicode class Zs characters,
I found a list over here.
Back to this query.
What I did is, I created a list with all the whitespace codes and their description
in the Source step.
Then I invoked custom function fnNumberBaseConversion
to convert the hexadecimal code into decimal codes.
I will explain fnNumberBaseConversion later on.
Next, I added a column with the character from the decimal code using Character.FromNumber.
I inserted the text length so you can clearly see that the length of the text is 1.
By the way, notice that in row 4 and 5, there are some carriage return and line feeds,
so these lines are a bit larger than other lines.
That is also determined by parameter "Show whitespace" on the View tab.
That's both in Excel as in Power BI Query Editor.
If you uncheck the "Show whitespace", then everything is on 1 line,
but if you have this checked, then you will also see carriage return and line feed characters.
I inserted the trimmed text, so I just added a column using Text.Trim
And then, as a check
again the text length, after the trim,
to indicate that all the characters in this list are actually trimmed, or removed.
And likewise would happen with Text.TrimEnd and Text.TrimStart.
Also notice that there is a second parameter with all of these functions:
a trim character,
where you can provide another character that can be trimmed from the text.
So if you want to trim
let's say only a space,
then you can provide a space over here,
then only a space will be trimmed
and then we will see
all text lengths 1, except where there's a space,
because now I have specified that spaces must be trimmed.
So there is a big difference between the Power Query Trim functions
and the Excel TRIM functions.
Excel will only trim spaces.
Also in the middle of the text.
Power Query will remove - by default - all whitespace characters
but only from the beginning and the end of the text.
Also function Splitter.SplitTextByWhitespace will remove whitespaces.
I created a query just to illustrate that all whitespaces
all groups of whitespaces,
are considered as 1 whitespace.
So I created a string
starting with a capital "A" and ending with a capital "B"
and in between are all the whitespace characters from table "Whitespaces".
So, this column, with all the whitespace characters,
And this string is splitted using splitter Splitter.SplitTextByWhitespace.
In the Power Query (M) Functions Dashboard, you can search for all splitter functions,
and the Splitter.SplitTextByWhitespace is over here.
Splitter.SplitTextByWhitespace returns a function that splits text into a list of text
at whitespace
So in this query, this part is the function.
And this part is the parameter to the function.
I can split this in 2 steps:
I call this "Splitter".
and then add an additional step:
=Splitter(Source)
and then it is splitted.
This function can be used to convert numbers from decimal to some other base.
And vice versa.
So for instance, if I have input
number 12 and I want to convert it to hexadecimal,
with an output length of 3,
then I can invoke this function
and I get zero zero C.
The other way around is also possible:
so if you would have zero zero C
if the first parameter is a text, it will be converted to a decimal number.
and the length is not required then, so you can leave it out.
So "00C" hexadecimal is 16.
It can also be used with base 32,
I don't know if this is valid, I get some negative number,
so I don't think these are valid codes.
And base 64 can also be used.
And of course you can also convert to hexa... to binary, for instance 1024 base 2
and you get this string.
So far this video about Trim functions in Excel, Power Query, the whitespaces in Power Query
and the function fnNumberBaseConversion.
Thanks for watching and see you again in another video about Power Query.

How DIFFICULT is Gaining 10 lb of MUSCLE in 30 Days!? The Experiment! Pt. 1 - Duration: 23:03.
the question [cheery music]
How difficult is it to gain 10 lb (4.5 kg) of muscle in 1 month?
Well, I put this question to the test with an old-fashioned experiment-
but in a practical sense.
Most of us aren't professional athletes or extreme bodybuilders
and our schedules can get busy with work, school, raising children,
and the other daily responsibilities that consume our time.
So really, the experiment is to see if 10 lb (4.5 kg) of mostly muscle can be gained
without extreme alterations to a normal day—
that means NO meticulously counting calories, and popping ridiculous amounts of supplements,
or spending hours upon hours in the gym.
This task has to be something that people could do with an average schedule.
Simple workouts, simple eating, and simple recordation.
I offer you the story of what I experienced, the methods, the results-
and the 3 cornerstones of thought that got me through it all.
Each of us is fighting a battle that is unique,
whether that deals with fitness or otherwise.
So I'm sure there's something you could pick up to help you out along the way.
But not that. [K is laughing in pain] Definitely don't do that. Girl in Spanish "Butterfly, butterfly!"
Fishes. Nature. Love. Chaos. Koaw – learn on, amigos
[instrumental music] Hey there, I'm Koaw!
And this channel is all about sharing what I learn from my interactions and explorations of our world-
because a little bit of knowledge is always a good thing.
3 years ago I was very close to dying -
and after having faced the true fragility of my mortality, I made changes as to how I would approach life.
Life is all about learning and sharing, so about a year ago I created this YouTube channel
so that I could share what I know and what I learn about
nature, other cultures, fishes,
and other cool tidbits of information for anyone who cared to learn about that sort of thing.
Some people might say I wasted my college education –
– [fun music] like those guys –
I just say I'm doing things a little bit differently with a bit more freedom.
And yes, right now I am a future, bearded Koaw.
But do not be alarmed! I did not become a lumberjack or join a biker gang after this muscle gain experiment.
the why
So why am I doing this experiment?
Well, I'm a nerd and I LOVE DOING EXPERIMENTS!
I've done some weird ones, trust me. [cryptic Bach music]
Secondly, I want to show that positive change can occur
with a little bit of effort and a little bit of time.
And finally, I want to give my viewers the opportunity
to know me better on a personal level and so that I can maybe get to know them a little better too.
Hello!
I'm curious what you all are going to think of this. -the hypothesis-
Experiments need a hypothesis,
or an educated guess as to what will occur.
Measuring difficulty here is purely subjective.
That is, it depends on the individual and what that person considers as easy and difficult.
So quantifying something like 'difficulty' is a loose approximation—
but, my hypothesis is that gaining 10 lbs of muscle in 30 days
will fall somewhere just above the mid area of easiness and difficulty—
where easy is that it doesn't cause me any problems, discomfort, or use up too much of my free time
and hard is that I become very burdened, f eel much discomfort, and all my free time is consumed.
[cheery music] Okay, I'm going to add a brief disclaimer.
I'm not a medical doctor or a licensed fitness trainer
so although all of my methods of this experiment are safe and easy,
if you want to try this at home I suggest seeking a professional consultant.
Secondly, I want to say I'm very appreciative of you viewing this video!
And I'd love to read any comments that you may have. I will read them and I will respond to them -
"Hey Koaw, you missed a spot right over there."
Oh, and if you are a busy person like me
and you want to watch this video but you don't have time-
just LIKE the video and it gets saved in your bookmarked-videos. And it's real easy to come back to.
Whatever your fitness goals are, I wish you the best.
The methods are simple. Workout 4 times a week or so.
Eat plenty of food often and ingest protein shakes around workouts.
Record weights in the morning and night,
and briefly describe what was eaten that day.
The experiment can't get in the way of other daily responsibilities.
And don't stress about the progress—
it's an experiment, there is no wrong answer, only discovery.
Oh, and of course I have to film for all of you!
[girl playfully screaming]
For the first morning—I weigh in at 151.5 lb (68.7 kg).
[optimistic instrumental music] That means in 30 days from this morning, or in only 720 hours,
if I do not weigh 161.5 lb (73.3 kg),
then I was not able to accomplish the weight-gain task within the parameters of the experiment.
Okay, so, this is the first day.
I have a cold so this may not be the most opportune time to start this project.
But at the same time, it's all about willpower.
If you don't start now then you'll never start.
Life is about choices in the moment.
So I'm going to eat a lot, always make sure I have food in my stomach -
and I'm going to work out later—
a light workout because I have not done any sort of heavy workout in a very long time.
So I'll be smart about this but I'm still going to do it.
Girl speaking Spanish "Eat your tomato."
My little trainer buddy there is already hard at work telling me to eat my food!
Girl: Eat, eat!
I've never been a big man—
I'm approximately 5' 11'' (1.8 m) and my body always wants to fall back to 152 lb(69 kg) —
[reggae music] - Gaining weight is actually tough for me with my metabolism.
I'm in my early 30's, so I'm already past my physical prime—
that is, my hormone production (i.e. testosterone) is no longer at its peak for ideal muscle growth.
Alright, so this dark dungeon behind me is my workout room
and I haven't been in here in months. I've been traveling.
So…some cats, while I was gone, peed all over my equipment.
And uh, can't use that and my hand-wraps, and other stuff.
So I'll work with it.
For Day 1, I did a very light workout,
making sure to stretch my muscles thoroughly and not do anything my body wasn't ready to do.
The cold was unexpected—
and so I really couldn't push my body too hard and end up sicker.
Later I had some protein and before I went to bed I recorded my weight.
[Oriental string music] - With that said, I'll share the first cornerstone of my ideology:
We should never stop bettering ourselves.
No matter the existing age, education, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, or gender,
we should always seek to improve ourselves on a daily basis, both physically and mentally—
and for many, spiritually.
This experiment offers a convenient way to monitor a method of myself undergoing a bettering.
That means I've had 3 days to eat a lot of food.
I've worked out each one of those 3 days. I've also been sick for each one of those 3 days,
which, has sort of been hindering my progress but let's take a look at my weight.
Remember I was 151.5 lb (68.7 kg) to start…
And...
this says I'm 156.0 lb (70.8 kg). So...
So, that's 4.5 lb of weight gain since morning #1.
That's not all muscle.
Right now that's mostly just the fact that I'm well hydrated and well fed.
I have a full digestive system.
So really, it's uh… it's good though.
It'd be bad if I looked at the scale and the weight was lower.
Alright, so it's Day 5. I took a rest day yesterday.
Today I'm going to knock-up a notch on the intensity the workouts.
I'm going to take this to a medium.
I want to get a bit of a sweat going, do some cardio,
but at the same time do these high intensity reps.
And of course I'm going to do this with resistance,
with weights because that aids in gaining muscle.
So…that's what I'm going to do.
Here I'll show you a typical workout—
[energetic music] It's about being efficient with time.
That means only spending around 40 minutes in one day working out.
Circuit training, like shown here is a great way to work multiple muscle groups and do cardio in very little time.
Of the 24 workouts I'll complete in these 30 days—
my average daily workout was only 42.5 minutes.
A bar is a great way to work the core and back muscles-
and hitting the bag works various muscle groups and contributes to getting the heart beating.
Alright so I'd say that was 40 minutes of a fairly intense workout—I'd say a medium.
Everything smells like cat pee, including my hands because the gloves
that I was using for the bag were just drenched in cat pee.
So, ya know, that's one of the things about anything in life— you can make excuses.
I could have said, "Hey, it smells like cat pee i n here I'm not going to workout."
No. Excuses will always limit you— never, never.
My little gym not only comes with smelling like cat pee but—
I've also got—my own little zoo going on.
Is that not a fabulous looking creature?
[serious music]
Gaining (or even losing) 10 lb (4.5 kg) of weight in one month
is an ambitious goal for any individual.
Many of us just want to get in better shape so that bathroom mirror is a bit less daunting.
Myself included.
but often, those hopes never reach fruition because of, well, excuses.
That brings me to my life ideology #2: No lies.
[music intensifies] As humans, lying is natural for us—
it is hardwired into our bioneurological makeup—
an advantageous quality preserved by evolution.
But truth, believe it or not, is a much more powerful tool to harness for self-betterment—
and for the betterment of everyone.
When we lie to ourselves that is often detrimental.
Lies lead to excuses—and too often excuses are only unwarranted justifications.
"My spouse is going to eat two burgers with fries so I should be able to as well."
"It's cold outside—tomorrow will be better."
There are, of course, reasonable excuses—
however, considering that the World Health Organization reports that 1 in 3 people in the United States are obese
and almost 3 in 4 people in the United States are overweight,
I would wager that a fair percentage our U.S. population is deeming too many lame excuses as reasonable.
Alright so, it's been officially 1 week
on this project trying to gain 10 lb of muscle.
I weighed in just now at 156.5 lb (80 kg), which is 5 lb (2.3 kg) heavier than the first morning.
I'm pretty confident that I good deal of that is muscle
'cause this morning I cleared my system.
So, um, I'm actually not that hydrated. I need to get hydrated
and get some more food in me.
This constant eating is probably more annoying than, uh, anything else in this project.
Typical breakfast: banana, milk, cereal.
Normally I don't eat breakfast. I really don't like breakfast.
But I have to, to gain weight.
Another day, another workout. Everything went well…
that was until I strained one of my hamstrings.
Well I jacked-up one of my hamstrings…so
ice shower right away, then heat.
I've got to keep an eye on that. It's not good—not good.
This injury could set back my entire project.
[upbeat music] No matter the injury, I've got to keep progressing as I can.
Two of the staple parts of my diet have been chicken breasts and broccoli.
That's muscle food 101.
So it's Day 13.
So it's Day 13. I weighed-in at 157.5 lb (71.4 kg) morning weight,
which is 6 lb (2.7 kg) since the first weigh in.
Um, I have no appetite. I'm not hungry.
But the important thing about this is to always have food in your stomach.
And I do understand that's a first-world problem.
And I'm fortunate that I can do this experiment and eat plenty of food.
So uh, on this Sunday morning,
my thoughts are with the people in Florida right now getting wrecked by the hurricane,
and the animals there, and the people that have already been wrecked by the previous hurricane
in the islands and Texas and all that…so…
I'll eat and think about them.
So a good model for health is my grandfather right here.
Now he's going to be 94— 94 in a couple weeks. And uh,
he's always had a different sort of exercise regime than I have had.
But he's always been an active man and he still takes walks.
He'd like to get out and do some more swimming this summer but we'll see.
Cal—if you had to give people advice on a healthy lifestyle—
to live into their 90's, what would your advice be?
Cal: The one simple…thing is keep moving.
K: Keep moving Cal: That's whether you're a real athlete
or just trying to avoid putting on a lot of fat.
Keep moving is the #1 thing!
K: Alright, you heard him—keep moving!
Per my grandfather's advice, I kept moving,
getting a decent workout in, being careful not to further injure my sore hamstring.
[water pattering] So the overeating is one of the things
that I don't like about this project.
But the second thing is the cold showers!
I detest cold water! Oye…
But it's good for the muscles.
[tranquil music]
Sometimes a little surprise shows up in the workout room.
K speaking Spanish: Up, down, up, down.
This is LP—my little trainer.
She's enthusiastic about fitness and that is awesome!
We'll just have to work on her form a little bit.
Koaw laughing, in Spanish: Careful, touch your chest here.
LP speaking Spanish: My horsey, my horsey! K: Okay, ready? LP: Yes.
[Koaw breathing heavily]
[Giggling and laughter]
????? broccoli.
K speaking Spanish: Do you want a little? A little.
The next day's workout would be managed by the little trainer as well—
and she is a tough trainer! [K laughing in pain]
LP: Butterfly, butterfly!
Alright, so it's morning 16. That means the first half of this project is over.
And I just did my weigh-in, let's look at that.
The weird thing about this weigh-in is that I kept fluctuating between 157.5 (71.4) and 158.5 (71.9)
which also leads me to discuss that I think the scale I have is not that consistent,
which is a horrible thing to have when you're trying to do an experiment involving measurements.
But it's—it's uh—this is a soft experiment so I'm not going to worry about it too much.
I'm a little…I'm happy that I'm gaining weight
but I definitely feel stronger and better.
I've noticed, uh, definitely the chemical changes in me.
I'm getting acne everywhere but that may be
a result of the stress from starting this with a cold.
I also ate a lot chocolate but
I don't have any empirical evidence that suggests there's cause and correlation between
ingesting chocolate and breaking out in acne—
that's speculation…and sort of I digress.
I have another 4 lb to go
but again I need to go over that because that's not all muscle.
I've still got—even though I've cleared my system this morning, I've got a lot of food in my gut.
Oh, and I also need to note that I need to travel for work,
which means that for last quarter of this project
I will not have access to my dungeon of cat pee.
And uh, travelling always messes up eating.
So…another twist.
Hey thank you for watching! I'm sure you want to see
how the experiment unfolds because you've watched this far.
Me too!
Will I hit that 161.5 lb mark?!
Will I be eaten by a bunch of hungry bluegills?
Well…I'll be releasing Part 2 about a week from the release of this video so
you can check the link in the description below
or you can simply just subscribe and get notified —that's FREE—
by clicking on this little icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the video screen.
Thank you again for watching and whatever your positive fitness goals are, good luck!

Soldier Stands At Attention In Pouring Rain.
When She Sees Why She Breaks Down In Tears
In today's society, many things that were once common social knowledge have been forgotten
or their practice has fallen to the wayside.
Men usually don't stand whenever a woman leaves the table, children don't often wait
for their elders to be served before filling their plates.
While not participating in these customs isn't wrong, per se, it is arguable that much is
lost when we forgo these traditions and signs of respect.
One such custom that has largely fallen out of use is the respect shown when a funeral
procession goes by.
I would venture a guess that most people nowadays don't even know what the proper procedure
is when they see a procession going by.
That's why when we see people going above and beyond to show respect, it touches our
hearts deeply; and that's exactly what happened when Erin Hester was driving through town
recently.
It was pouring rain as Erin drove, which is why she was surprised to see a man standing
on the side of the road next to his car.
As she got closer, she realized the man was a soldier in uniform and he was standing at
attention.
Erin looked around to figure out why the soldier was doing this, and that's when she saw
a funeral procession slowly driving by, their headlights all on.
As soon as Erin saw the procession, she too pulled over to the side of the road to respectfully
let it pass.
When she got home later, she shared her story on Facebook.
"I always get frustrated when I see cars that don't pull to the side and stop for
a procession," she wrote, "but this gentlemen went above and beyond."
Erin said she is "pretty confident" that there are no military rules requiring a soldier
to do this – and we weren't able to find any either – this man was just showing honor
and respect because it was the right thing to do.
"This made my heart happy to see the amount of respect that this gentleman showed a family
that he doesn't even know," she said.
Many other people were touched by Erin's photo and story.
Brandi Guillet commented, "I'm so glad you captured this.
This young man was raised [with] love and respect in his heart."
Others shared stories of similar experiences and wrote about how much those moments had
touched them.
"When my dad passed away we were following the casket through a not wonderful side of
town.. we passed a bus stop and a man who was waiting for the bus stood up and took
off his hat," Victoria Archibeque recalled.
"I cried and it took everything I had to not go hug him.
It's amazing when someone does something for nothing in return."
While we may never know this soldier's name, we know he didn't do this for the recognition.
What we are sure of is that his display of honor and respect that day meant more to the
grieving family – and the others who saw him – than he could ever know.
