Over the past 75 years, Batman has done a lot of pretty messed up stuff.
He's mailed live bats to criminals as a calling card and then killed them by throwing
darts, built a psychological torture chamber in his basement so that he could terrify criminals
into confronting their sins, covered his face in broken glass to make enemies with X-ray
cameras think he was disfigured, and he famously trained multiple children to dress in costumes
and go have fistfights with murderous clowns at night.
Even if you're adjusting your idea of acceptable behavior to include dressing up as a bat and
vowing to end all crime, those are some extremely dubious choices.
But as strange as they might be, all of those things are meant to make Batman a better crime-fighter.
After all, he does live in a world where he has to be prepared to handle any bizarre situation
that writers can think of, including being attacked by an exploding shark or having to
outwit a crossword-puzzle deathtraps.
Those situations can justify even his weirdest actions, but it turns out that there are some
things that go beyond even Batman's understanding.
Those are the messed-up moments that we've all just agreed that we shouldn't talk about,
like the time that Batman tried to invent the Internet… in 2011.
After returning from a time-travel adventure where everyone thought he was dead, a long
story that involves space gods and Batman punching out cavemen, the Dark Knight decided
to reinvent global information technology.
He called it "Internet 3.0," a world-wide web that would be under the protection of
Barbara Gordon.
That part, at least, makes sense.
Barbara had reinvented herself as the ultra-hacker known as Oracle after she retired from the
role of Batgirl, and had spent years covertly directing superhero missions as the woman
behind the Birds of Prey and providing intelligence to the Justice League.
In Batman's new version of the Internet, she'd be given special "cheat codes"
and anti-malware technology in order to battle the scourge of cyber-crimes.
And if that sounds like a bunch of random high-tech buzzwords from a computer-themed
episode of one of those cop shows for old people, well, that's about how it worked
out.

It was an idea that had a lot of promise, with readers hoping for stories where Batman
and Oracle would jack into the Matrix to battle against virtual villains with real-world consequences.
When it actually rolled out in the pages of Batman Incorporated #8, however, it wound
up being so bad that it was never mentioned again, which might have something to do with
the fact that it looked less like The Matrix and more like Food Fight.
It turns out that Batman's bold new vision of "virtual museums, department stores, or
schools," was basically just Second Life, except that it came out about eight years
after we had it in the real world.
The only big innovation?
If you died on Internet 3.0, you died in real life, a fresh new concept that would surely
appeal to consumers.
Because if there's one thing people really want, is for a version of the Internet that
has even more control over our lives and can also kill you.
Maybe stick to bat-shaped boomerangs and rocket cars, Bats.

The Defence of Baku - The Adventures of Dunsterforce Part 2 I THE GREAT WAR Special - Duration: 12:47.
This is Part two of our Christmas special about one of the most forgotten theaters - and
most forgotten actions of the war.
Today we'll see some of the real chaos of the Caucasus post-Russian revolution, and
some real adventure by the Caspian Sea.
I'm Indy Neidell, welcome to part two of this year's Great War Christmas Special-
the adventures of Dunsterforce, the Hush-Hush Army, as written by General Lionel Dunsterville.
In part one, we saw the force try and fail to reach Tiflis - Tbilisi - or Baku, but gain
Cossack allies, nearly be taken by the Bolshevik Red Guard, provide essential famine relief,
and have those Cossack allies help stymie Mirza Kuchik Khan, would be ruler of Persia.
When we left off, Dunsterville was at the port of Enzeli, on the Caspian Sea making
deals with the local Bolshevik committee, and Colonel Bicherakov and his Cossacks - claiming
they were Bolsheviks - were hoping to stop the advancing Ottomans by taking the Kura
Bridge together with Bolshevik controlled Baku's local Red Army.
If the Ottomans captured Baku they would have big stores of oil to run the Caucasian railway
and the Black Sea shipping.
They would also have control of the Caspian Sea and an open door to Afghanistan and Asia.
On the other hand, if the British could secure Baku, this would close the door to central
Asia for the enemy, stop the local railways, and gain control of the Caspian Sea.
By mid July, Dunsterville from Enzeli was in daily contact with the Social Revolutionaries
in Baku and it seemed that soon they could bring off a coup against the Bolsheviks and
set up a pro-British government.
He finally got news of Bicherakov, but all hope of securing the bridge was gone, as the
Red Army there, who were revolutionaries and not soldiers, just wouldn't do its job.
They gave ground without firing a shot and Bicherakov could only count on his men, so
he fell back to Baku.
So the Bolsheviks then realized Bicherakov isn't really one of them and are trying
to push him into the arms of the Turks.
He figures this out and soon abandons the town entirely and heads to Derbend.
This turns out to be a bad decision because if he had waited for just a few days for the
Dunsterforce to arrive then Baku would never have fallen.
Dunsterville's men were now trickling in from Mesopotamia, but Kuchik Khan's Jangalis
were going to try a new attack.
They did this July 20th at the Battle of Resht, on the Enzeli road.
They sent their best men to attack the British detachment based outside of town, while simultaneously
taking the town.
The attacks on the detachment were beaten off, and of the 2,500 Jangalis attacking,
100 were killed and 50 or so taken prisoner.
The British took 50 casualties roughly, but the now Jangalis held the town.
Two days of street fighting and aerial bombardment cleared them out, the entire road to the Caspian
was now open, and Mirza Kuchik Khan began to sue for peace, but Enzeli had to be secured.
So Dunsterville invited the Enzeli Bolshevik committee of three to Kasvin and arrested
them on charges of complicity with the Jangalis, the only thing for which they could theoretically
be arrested, since they had killed a bunch of Russians on the road, and that was certainly
against Persian law.
He had a letter from 19 year old committee member Babookh congratulating Kuchik Khan
on his attempts to beat the British and promising future support as proof.
If this isn't all complicated enough, on July 26th came the coup in Baku and the new
governing body was the Centro-Caspian dictatorship, who called Dunsterville for help.
He had now established control over Enzeli Port, which the locals apparently had no problem
with, and managed to secure one 1,000 ton ship there - the President Kruger that could
hold 800 men - and two smaller ships at Baku, three of the best ships on the Caspian.
Headquarters was transferred to the Kruger August 10th.
Dunsterville took down the Red flag and put up the Russian flag, but the locals were worried
that this was counter revolutionary activity.
He assured them this was not the case, but he was not a revolutionary either, so they
compromised by flying the Russian flag upside down.
This meant that the force sailed the Caspian under the Serbian flag since the locals weren't
aware that it's the same as the Russian flag upside down.
So you now had a British General sailing on the Caspian Sea, aboard a ship named after
a South African Boer President of partly German descent, sailing from a Persian port, under
a Serbian flag, to assist a body of Armenians in a revolutionary Russian town against the
Turks.
You genuinely cannot make this stuff up.
Dunsterville arrived in Baku the 17th to find a city on the verge of starvation.
The population of the oil city was around 300,000, mainly Armenians, Tartars, and Russians,
with smaller colonies of Georgians and Greeks, and even smaller numbers of British, French,
and Americans.
The countryside was totally barren except for the avenues of trees grown in the city
with the new water supply and the surrounding villages, which were basically oases.
The Five Dictators - yep, five - requested a meeting with Dunsterville, just after he
sent his force of some 900 men to the front lines.
He describes them as intelligent, zealous, and around 30 years old.
"The idea of five Dictators seemed to me absurd, and I suggested their choosing one
of their number as a single Dictator" but that didn't happen.
Gotta point out that unlike many European leaders of his age and era, Dunsterville did
not think of other races and cultures as inferior, his problem here was their lack of training.
Of the local Armenians he writes, "He was not a soldier, but just an ill-fed... factory
hand.
A rifle was pushed into his hand and he was told to go and fight.
He had no equipment, no proper instructors, no decent officers, and no regular arrangements
for food supply... under such circumstances no troops could be expected to display a high
standard of valor."
Plans were begun for possible evacuation of the town and it was heavily shelled the night
of the 23rd.
Still, machine guns were reorganized and the Armenian town defenses were gradually shaped
up.
A peace was signed with Kuchik Khan back at Enzeli, who then became their sole contractor
for rice, which was a big boon for Baku.
The Turks had, however, attacked Mud Volcano near Baku the 26th and inflicted heavy losses,
including killing the British major who was charged with wiring the front, but they failed
to break through and take the town.
It was obvious that the great assault was soon to come.
The main problem everywhere though, was the delay between agreement and action.
Everything was done by committee and every single man had a say.
Every battalion has a committee, and so does each company in the battalion, and committee
meetings are held during action.
But once they've reached a decision, they have no power to enforce it, because of course
the men do not consider themselves bound by such a decision if they don't personally
support it.
Dunsterville says that all of this "freedom" put a stop to any enterprise and that much
of Russia is longing for any form of government that will restore a semblance of law and order.
He also says of those fighting the revolution, "Revolutionaries are quite the least brotherly
people toward each other that the world contains, and constitute a living refutation of their
fundamental doctrines."
The Turks again attacked August 31st.
Troops from the town kept in reserve could have easily counterattacked and carried the
day, but this they did not do.
Dunsterville by now despaired of the situation- though he says that retreating to the heights
south of the railway line could save the city and port, but the local men have to be willing
to actually fight, and they weren't.
He was asked to attend a Council of War that evening.
There were the Five Dictators, the Armenian National Council, workman's delegates, soldiers'
and sailors' delegates, and peasant deputies.
General Dukuchaiev, the local C-in-C, gave an address on his strategy and summed up his
remarks.
Even as he was concluding, a sailor rose and gave his views.
He spoke for an hour and then proposed plans the exact opposite of the C-in-C. Then the
Armenian National Council proposed a third set of plans.
Then the Dictators had their plans, then other speakers.
An exasperated Dunsterville left at 0100, while they were still talking.
He decided that the situation was unsalvageable and the next afternoon met the Dictators to
tell them so.
The Hush-Hush army has done all the fighting, but the men came to help fight, not do ALL
the fighting, and he won't sacrifice their lives needlessly, so he will soon leave Baku.
He advises the Dictators to send out a flag of truce and sort out peace terms before an
invasion can happen, and not waste time making speeches and resolutions.
The Dictators are thunderstruck, as if the idea of the fall of Baku had never been a
possibility for them.
Later, Dunsterville returned to HQ and found the various committees all passing resolutions
as fast as they could.
While it is ludicrous, he points out that the ludicrous situation is not really their
fault and would likely arise to a certain extent after any revolution.
By this time, though, it should be noted that a big part of the town was eager to replace
the Dictators with something else.
At 0400 September 14th, the final assault on Baku began, and the local troops for the
most part did not fight, were immediately overrun, and evacuation seemed the only option.
However, the Dunsterforce managed to check the advance at 0800, though counterattacking
proved impossible.
They couldn't fight the whole enemy alone, so the order was given for retirement to commence
at 2000.
The sun set, and the fighting had died down after 14 hours as both sides were exhausted.
The sick and wounded were aboard ship shortly after dark and they made for Enzeli.
By 2200, troops and guns were aboard the Kruger.
Two Dictators arrived and demanded the British return to its fighting line positions.
Dunsterville says that after 14 hours fighting with no relief or support that's not possible.
The Dictators say they will sink the ships.
Dunsterville says, "I hope not."
They made it safely to Enzeli.
Fewer than 1,000 men had kept a force ten times their size at bay for nearly a month.
The local Baku artillery had actually been great but it was the Dunsterforce that had
held the town.
Casualties had been 180, about a 5th of the force.
Once beyond Enzeli, the adventure of the Dunsterforce comes to an end.
Here are a few of Dunsterville's words about revolution: "It is extremely easy to break
down an existing form of government, but to build up anything substantial in its place
is a matter of considerable difficulty... and a long period of disorder must ensue during
which the best efforts of the best men will not suffice to prevent ridiculous situations
from arising."
That's pretty short but sweet, and it certainly helps explain the Baku situation in the summer
of 1918, a situation of absurdity following revolution.
We thought this two-part tale of revolution, chaos, and adventure might make a bit more
upbeat Christmas special than last year's and hope you enjoyed it.
But don't forget, a lot of people died here, from all sides, and even post revolution;
they were still casualties of the Great War.

has made decisive inroads this year as they accelerated their missile programme with a series of controversial tests. They conducted a huge H-bomb test earlier this winter and fired several missiles over Japan during the year.
It sparked warnings from US President Donald Trump he would deliver "fire and fury" to North Korea if they did not halt their exercises - a threat despot Kim Jong-un has ignored.
But which of the two military powers are better prepared for actual war as Mr Trump and Kim continue to trade threats in an increasingly dangerous war of words?.
MANPOWER The US and North Korea have two of the largest armies on Earth, ranking 2nd and 4th respectively in the world rankings. According to military analysts GlobalFirePower.
com, the US boasts an active personnel of 1,375,000 people, a huge number only bettered by China. North Korea also boasts a gigantic active army of 945,000 - made all the more impressive for the country's relatively small population.
But while the US beats North Korea when it comes to active personnel, due to the hermit state's conscription policy Kim has a far larger reserve.
Pyongyang has 5,500,000 troops ready to call up if war broke out, compared to less than one million in the US. AIR POWER When it comes to air combat, North Korea is hopelessly outnumbered.
Kim has around 1000 total military aircraft compared to America's 13,500. In every sector, from fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, training aircraft and helicopters, North Korea has just a fraction of the US aerial might. NAVY POWER Despite being outnumbered in the air, North Korea boasts a bigger navy than America. With 967 naval assets, they more than double America's total of 415. However the US Navy is better trained, operates across the globe and possess 19 aircraft carriers - an asset which North Korea is completely without. .
MISSILES North Korea has made huge jumps forward in its missile programme this year, launching several missiles and even tested a H-bomb. However the rogue state is still struggling to successfully miniaturise nuclear warheads and is therefore not yet a fully-fledged nuclear power. The US, on the other hand, boasts thousands of nuclear weapons. But while the US leads the way in nuclear terms, North Korea does boast weapons capable of reaching the American mainland.
FINANCE North Korea is plagued by economic instability and has been hit with repeated economic sanctions as Kim strives to build up his nuclear arsenal.
Therefore it is no surprise the US leads the way when it comes to military spending power. And the US spends £439 billion annually on its military budget. North Korea, meanwhile, spends just £5.

James Milner, who started in midfield, against Leicester City will have to settle for the
bench.
Attack
We might see a number of rotations in the attacking department with head coach Jurgen
Klopp missing few of his key attackers.
Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain is all set to get back into the starting lineup.
The former Arsenal midfielder will be deployed in a central area of the midfield with Philipe
Coutinho being shifted into a wider role.
Sadio Mane will start from the left wing position with Roberto Firmino leading the charge for
the Merseyside giants.

BUT I WASN'T DOING IT EVEN BECAUSE I WANTED TO CONTROL,

SO, A LOT OF TIMES, OUR BEHAVIORS HAVE ROOTS TO THEM
THAT ONLY GOD CAN SHOW US.
AND THE ONLY WAY THAT WE CAN EVER GET FROM WHERE WE ARE TO
WHERE WE WANT TO BE IS TO REALIZE IT'S GOING TO BE
A JOURNEY AND THAT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GIVE UP--I MEAN,
NEVER GIVE UP, THAT'S NOT GOOD.
WE'RE NOT GOING TO GIVE UP, WE'RE GOING TO NEVER GIVE UP.
AND I ALWAYS TRY TO TELL PEOPLE THAT THERE'S A BEGINNING,
AND WE'RE HEADED TO THE END, BUT THERE'S ALWAYS A MIDDLE.
AND IT'S THE MIDDLE PART THAT GETS A LITTLE BIT CHALLENGING
SOMETIMES.
NOW, IT INTRIGUES ME OR IT INTERESTS ME THAT OUT OF ALL
THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD THAT HAVE BEEN HURT, SOME VERY, VERY
BADLY, SOME GET WELL, THEY GET BEYOND THE THINGS IN THEIR PAST,
AND THEY GO ON AND THEY DO REALLY GREAT THINGS WITH
THEIR LIFE.
THEY HAVE HAPPY LIVES.
AND THEN THERE'S OTHERS WHO JUST ARE ALWAYS FOREVER THEIR
WHOLE LIFE IN RECOVERY.
THEY NEVER SEEM TO MAKE IT.
I HAD A BROTHER LIKE THAT.
AND ACTUALLY, I WAS, IF YOU WANT TO COMPARE BEING MISTREATED,
I WAS MISTREATED A LOT WORSE THAN HE WAS.
BUT I WAS ABLE, THROUGH THE GRACE OF GOD, TO GET HOLD OF
THAT AMAZING WHATEVER IT IS IN US THAT HELPS US PRESS
THROUGH THINGS, AND GO AHEAD AND OVERCOME THOSE THINGS.
HE WAS NOT.
AND HIS LIFE ENDED WHEN HE WAS VERY YOUNG, AND IT WAS VERY SAD
EVEN DURING THE TIMES THAT HE WAS HERE.
AND SO, IN ASKING GOD TO SHOW ME WHAT IS THAT THING IN PEOPLE,
I REALLY BELIEVE THAT IT'S THIS DETERMINATION FACTOR THAT YOU
ARE JUST NOT GOING TO GIVE UP.
AND I DON'T--I DON'T THINK THAT GOD PLAYS FAVORITES.
I DON'T THINK IT'S EVER A SITUATION, WELL, HERE'S
TEN PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN WOUNDED,
I'M GOING TO HEAL FIVE OF THEM AND FIVE OF THEM ARE GOING TO
JUST HAVE TO BE IN A MESS THEIR WHOLE LIFE.
THERE'S A PART OF IT THAT ONLY GOD CAN DO, BUT THERE'S A PART
OF IT THAT ONLY WE CAN DO.
AND A LARGE PART OF GETTING WELL FROM ANY KIND OF TRAGEDY IN YOUR
LIFE, WHATEVER IT MIGHT BE, IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING THAT WAS DONE
TO YOU, IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING YOU DID THAT YOU'RE HAVING
A HARD TIME GETTING OVER, BUT WHATEVER IT IS, THE BIBLE SAYS,
"IF YOU CONTINUE IN GOD'S WORD, YOU'LL KNOW THE TRUTH.
THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE."
AND I CAN TELL YOU THAT FACING TRUTH IS A PRETTY GUT-WRENCHING
THING, ESPECIALLY IF THE TRUTH THAT YOU NEED TO HEAR IS
SOMETHING THAT'S GOING TO CAUSE YOU TO HAVE TO TAKE
THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WAY THINGS ARE IN YOUR LIFE NOW.
YOU KNOW, IT'S EASY TO BLAME ALL OF OUR BAD BEHAVIOR ON SOMETHING
THAT HAPPENED TO US BACK THERE, BUT THE THING THAT GOD PUT ON MY
HEART AND THE THING THAT I LIKE TO SHARE WITH PEOPLE IS WHAT
HAPPENED TO ME WAS A REASON WHY I WAS THE WAY I WAS, BUT I COULD
NOT LET IT BECOME AN EXCUSE TO STAY THAT WAY.
AND THAT'S WHAT SO OFTEN PEOPLE DO.
IT'S ALWAYS BECAUSE, BECAUSE, BECAUSE.
BUT JESUS SAID THAT IF ANY MAN IS IN HIM, HE IS A NEW CREATURE.
OLD THINGS PASS AWAY.
LET'S THINK ABOUT THAT, OLD THINGS PASS AWAY.
SO, IF YOU'RE WATCHING TODAY FROM HOME, OR ON YOUR IPAD, OR
COMPUTER, OR WHEREVER YOU MIGHT BE, AND YOU'RE JUST THINKING,
"WELL, YOU KNOW, THERE'S NO HOPE FOR ME," THAT'S JUST ABSOLUTELY
NOT TRUE BECAUSE IF YOU RECEIVE CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR,
YOU GET A BRAND NEW BEGINNING.
AND NOT ONLY THAT, HIS MERCY IS NEW EVERY DAY.
AND I WANT YOU TO KEEP THIS IN MIND, GOD WILL NEVER GIVE UP
ON YOU IF YOU WILL NEVER GIVE UP ON HIM.
NOW, I'VE WRITTEN OVER 100 BOOKS, AND I DON'T WRITE
THEM JUST BECAUSE I'M LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO DO.
I WRITE THEM BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT BOOKS ARE SO VALUABLE.
MANY OF THE BOOKS THAT HAVE HELPED ME THE MOST WERE WRITTEN
BY PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN DEAD 100 YEARS.

AND IT'S VERY EASY TO GIVE UP IF YOU THINK THERE'S NO WAY EVER TO
GET OUT OF YOUR SITUATION.
SO, PLEASE REMEMBER, IF YOU'RE TAKING ANY KIND OF NOTES YOU CAN
WRITE THIS DOWN, IF YOU'RE GOING THROUGH SOMETHING REALLY

TEMPERAMENT BY THE TIME I STARTED EVEN TRYING TO WALK
WITH GOD, I MEAN, ANY KIND OF DYSFUNCTION ANYBODY COULD HAVE,
I HAD IT.
I MEAN, REALLY I JUST--MY MIND WAS MESSED UP, MY EMOTIONS
WERE MESSED UP.
NOW, LOOKING AT ME, I CAN HOLD DOWN A GOOD JOB, I HAD A FAMILY.
YOU WOULDN'T HAVE THOUGHT BY LOOKING AT ME THAT I HAD THAT
MANY PROBLEMS.
BUT BOY, IF YOU GOT TO KNOW ME, IT WASN'T VERY LONG AND YOU
STARTED THINKING, "WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?"
I REMEMBER AFTER DAVE AND I HAD BEEN MARRIED ABOUT 3 WEEKS,
YOU KNOW, WE ONLY HAD 5 DATES AND GOT MARRIED AND I ALWAYS SAY
THAT HE--IT'S A GOOD THING HE MARRIED ME QUICK BEFORE HE FOUND
OUT TOO MUCH.
AND SO, AFTER ABOUT 3 WEEKS, HE LOOKED AT ME ONE DAY, I REMEMBER
STILL WHEN WE WERE STANDING IN THE LITTLE APARTMENT WE HAD,
AND HE SAID, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
WELL, SEE, I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH EVERYBODY
ELSE IN THE WORLD, NOT ME.
I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT I HAD A PROBLEM.
AND SO YOU--PART OF THAT PRICE THAT YOU PAY IS REALIZING THAT
EVERYTHING TAKES LONGER THAN YOU THINK IT'S GOING TO.
EVERYTHING TAKES LONGER THAN YOU THINK IT'S GOING TO.
I MEAN AFTER I'D BEEN WHAT I THOUGHT WAS SERIOUSLY TRYING TO
CHANGE FOR 5 YEARS, I MEAN, I REMEMBER THINKING,
"I HAVEN'T CHANGED AT ALL."
WELL, I HAD, BUT THERE WERE SO MANY OTHER THINGS YET THAT
NEEDED TO BE DONE THAT I FELT LIKE I HAD NOT CHANGED AT ALL.
SO, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I ENCOURAGE ANYBODY TO DO THAT'S
ON ANY KIND OF A JOURNEY, YOU'RE TRYING TO REACH ANY KIND OF
A GOAL, IS DON'T JUST LOOK AT HOW FAR YOU HAVE TO GO.
CELEBRATE EVERY LITTLE, TINY SUCCESS THAT YOU HAVE.
I DON'T THINK WE DO ENOUGH CELEBRATING IN OUR LIFE.
IT'S MOST PEOPLE FOCUS ON WHAT THEY'RE NOT INSTEAD OF WHAT THEY
ARE, AND MOST PEOPLE FOCUS ON WHAT THEY DON'T HAVE INSTEAD OF
WHAT THEY DO HAVE.
AND MY GOODNESS, EVERY ONE OF YOU, I CAN GUARANTEE YOU THAT IF
YOU'VE BEEN WALKING WITH GOD ONE YEAR, JUST ONE YEAR, OR
WE'LL JUST SAY 6 MONTHS, IF YOU REALLY ARE SERIOUS ABOUT LETTING
GOD DO A WORK IN YOUR LIFE, YOU HAVE CHANGED.
YOU MAY NOT HAVE CHANGED TO THE DEGREE THAT YOU WANT TO,
BUT YOU DEFINITELY HAVE CHANGED.
SO, IF WE LOOK AT THE THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED, IT GIVES US
HOPE FOR THE THINGS THAT CAN HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE.
"WHICH OF YOU, WISHING TO BUILD A FARM BUILDING, DOES NOT FIRST
SIT DOWN AND CALCULATE THE COST TO SEE WHETHER HE HAS SUFFICIENT
MEANS TO FINISH IT?
OTHERWISE, WHEN HE'S LAID THE FOUNDATION AND IS UNABLE TO
COMPLETE [THE BUILDING], ALL WHO SEE IT WILL BEGIN TO MOCK AND
JEER AT HIM, SAYING, 'THIS MAN BEGAN TO BUILD AND WAS NOT ABLE
(OR WORTH ENOUGH) TO FINISH.'" SO, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I

IT'S UNREALISTIC.
I MEAN, HOW MANY OF YOU EVER REALLY HAVE EVEN ONE WHOLE DAY
IN YOUR LIFE THAT GOES EXACTLY THE WAY THAT YOU WANTED IT TO GO
WHEN YOU GOT OUT OF BED?
MOST OF US HAVE ALREADY HAD A FEW DISAPPOINTMENTS THIS
MORNING, WHATEVER IT IS.
YOU KNOW, MAYBE YOU WANTED TO TAKE A WALK, AND YOU GOT UP
AND IT WAS RAINING.
OR YOU KNOW, IT CAN BE A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS.
AND SO, WE NEED TO--WE NEED TO BE REALISTIC ABOUT LIFE, AND
REALIZE THAT THE DEVIL'S ALIVE AND WELL ON PLANET EARTH.
AND ANY TIME YOU TRY TO MAKE ANY KIND OF PROGRESS, DON'T EVER
FORGET THIS, ANY TIME YOU TRY TO MAKE ANY KIND OF PROGRESS,
THE ENEMY IS GOING TO COME AGAINST YOU AND TRY TO STOP IT.

OUR WORTH AND VALUE, IS VERY MUCH CONNECTED
TO HOW OUR PARENTS TREAT US OR HOW THE PEOPLE IN
OUR LIFE AT THAT TIME TREAT US.
SO, IF THEY DON'T TREAT US GOOD, IT'S VERY EASY TO GET STARTED
OFF IN LIFE WITH THIS THINKING, "SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH ME."
BUT YOU HAVE TO KEEP IN MIND THAT WHEN YOU GO INTO RECOVERY
AND YOU COME INTO A RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST, THAT'S ALL A THING
OF THE PAST.
SO, YOU HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO THINK ABOUT YOURSELF THE WAY
THAT GOD THINKS ABOUT YOU AND SEE YOURSELF THE WAY THAT
GOD SEES YOU.
AND I KNOW THAT'S HARD BECAUSE WE HAVE BAD MENTAL HABITS AND
THINGS THAT WE NEED TO BREAK.
BUT I HAD SUCH A DIFFICULT TIME TRYING TO LOVE PEOPLE, AND I WAS
IN CHURCH AND I WAS HEARING MESSAGES ABOUT LOVE
AND LOVING PEOPLE.
AND I WANTED TO LOVE PEOPLE, AND I JUST DID NOT UNDERSTAND
WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME.
AND IT WAS A GREAT DAY FOR ME WHEN GOD FINALLY SPOKE TO MY
HEART, OR I'M SURE HE TRIED TO SPEAK TO ME BEFORE,
BUT I JUST HEARD HIM.
AND HE SAID, "YOU CAN NEVER LOVE ANYBODY ELSE UNTIL YOU LOVE
YOURSELF."
YOU SEE, I DIDN'T LOVE MYSELF.
AND SO, WHETHER YOU'RE AT HOME WATCHING OR YOU'RE HERE IN THIS

BUT GOD WANTS US TO GET TO THE POINT WHERE WE BELIEVE HIS WORD
SO MUCH THAT EVEN WHEN WE HAVE PAINFUL CIRCUMSTANCES OR
DISAPPOINTING THINGS HAPPEN, WE'RE STILL GOING TO GO BACK TO
THE WORD AND SAY, "WELL, THIS IS HOW I FEEL, BUT I'M NOT GOING TO
LIVE BY HOW I FEEL.
THIS IS WHAT I BELIEVE."
AND EVENTUALLY--I LOVE ONE SCRIPTURE
IN ISAIAH 41, IT SAYS, "GOD WILL HARDEN YOU
TO DIFFICULTIES."
AND I LOVE THAT.

AND OVER AND OVER?" BUT THEN WE NEED TO GO BACK AND
REMEMBER THAT GOD FORGIVES US FOR THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER
AND OVER AND OVER.
I WANT YOU TO REMEMBER THIS, JESUS WILL NEVER ASK YOU TO DO
ANYTHING THAT HE WASN'T WILLING TO DO HIMSELF WHEN HE WAS HERE.
HE'LL NEVER ASK YOU TO GO THROUGH ANYTHING THAT HE HAS NOT
FIRST GONE THROUGH AND HAD VICTORY OVER.
WHAT ABOUT THE--I CALL IT THE JUDAS KISS TEST, WHERE
SOMEBODY THAT YOU TRUST, SOMEBODY THAT YOU THINK IS FOR
YOU, ENDS UP BEING THE VERY ONE THAT COMES AGAINST YOU
AND DECEIVES YOU.
I DON'T THINK THERE'S ANYTHING WORSE THAN BEING BETRAYED BY
SOMEONE THAT YOU REALLY LOVE AND YOU REALLY BELIEVE LOVES YOU.
AND OF COURSE, WE KNOW JUDAS WAS THAT PERSON FOR JESUS.
HE WAS ONE OF HIS 12, AND HE BETRAYED HIM, AND IT HAPPENS IN
OUR LIVES TOO.
SEE, THE THING IS IS IF SOMEBODY BETRAYS YOU AND THEY DON'T MEAN
ANYTHING TO YOU, THEN IT'S NOT GOING TO HURT.
BUT THE CLOSER YOU ARE TO SOMEBODY, THAT'S WHY MANY TIMES

WALKING IN VICTORY, FORGIVING PEOPLE THAT HAVE HURT YOU,
LETTING GO OF THE PAST, LETTING GOD CHANGE YOU, THESE THINGS ARE
NOT FOR THE WEAK AND THE WIMPY.
THESE ARE ONLY FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE GOING TO SAY, "I DON'T CARE
WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE, I DON'T CARE WHAT I FEEL LIKE, I DON'T CARE
HOW LONG IT TAKES, I AM NEVER GOING TO GIVE UP."
THERE'S A LITTLE THING THAT I LIKE TO SAY,
JUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON.
WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE YOU CAN'T TAKE ONE MORE STEP, JUST GO

It's time for mechanics Monday! Welcome to my new segment mechanic Monday, every
Monday I'll be getting back to you guys by hosting a giveaway, where you can
enter and win a free tool signed by me, and this week's free giveaway tool is,
this cool jumpstart pack, it's really amazing what they've done with these
small little battery packs, this one has a peak current of 800 amps, and you never
have to worry about whether it's run out of power or not, because as you can see
when you turn it on, it shows you how much power is left, and when it does need
recharging, you can either plug it into your cigarette lighter and charge it
that way, or bring it in your house it comes with a little adapter that plugs
into the hundred and twelve volts, and turns it into the charging 12 volts here,
they are great for jump-starting a dead battery, and you can put positive to positive and
the negative to negative, because you don't have to worry about spark, because
there's no power going to these cables until you turn the switch on, on the
battery pack, so you're not going to get a spark that can cause a flame, and you
might think, what's this tiny little battery going to do, hey, it has 400 amps of
starting power, these things are well designed with these lithium-ion
batteries, so even a small battery like this can start a car, it also has this
cool really bright light that you can use at night, and I mean bright, and it
has adapters on the cord, you can even run your smart phone and computers off
these things, it'll run them for a really long time, so if your kids are in the
backseat whine and it can't play their games, this will run it for quite some time
just remember to plug it into the cigarette lighter, or if you're on a trip in the
motel room, to recharge it at night in case you ever need to use it to start
the car with, and the whole thing fits neatly into this hardshell case, so you
can put it anywhere don't have to worry about, oh where are the cables, where are the
adapters, they're all in this nice hard cases you can put in a trunk or wherever
you want, and since we all know there's nothing worse than not having all the
parts you need, great that it comes in that case, and remember to have a chance to win these

When that occurs, there are plenty of government programs and charities that give that much-needed
push to help people find their footing again.
However, there are people out there that take advantage of these programs designed to help
and use them as a financial windfall.
Though what makes that crime even worse is that under the Obama administration those
cases of fraud only increased and President Trump has had enough of it.
Over the last year, the Trump administration has been busy cracking down on welfare fraud
in our country and has made some HUGE strides in shutting down these criminal rings.
The amount of money these welfare leeches have stolen from the American taxpayer is
astounding which only proves why Trump is serious about revamping the welfare program,
and it is about time.
For instance, investigators in Grand Rapids, Michigan busted a food stamp crime ring that
was run by three Muslim brothers.
Emad Khalil Karaein, Jawad Khalil-Ahmad Karaein, and Khader Khalil Karaein ran a Middle Eastern
Market where they operated their crime ring.
The brothers were discovered to have cost the American taxpayer $736,000 from EBT and
$544,000 from WIC over the course of nine years.
Thankfully, these brothers were caught and sentenced to prison for their gluttonous crime,
but that was just the beginning of how widespread this welfare scam was.
As investigators continued to dig into cases of welfare fraud across the country they were
taken aback at how rampant it had become.
Millions of dollars worth of food stamp fraud were found predominately in convenience stores
that were found in low-income areas where the majority of individuals receive food stamps
through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
So to show the millions of dollars these criminals have taken away from the federal government,
here are the seven most prominent takedowns of food stamp fraud of 2017, and you can be
sure this next year will be even more significant.

Ohio Convenience Store Owner Sentenced to 33 Months in Prison for $2.8 Million in Food
Stamp Fraud
A former Ohio convenience store owner got caught carrying out a $2.8 million food stamp
fraud scheme where he allowed benefit recipients to exchange their food stamps for cash.
The USDA revealed in an audit that the store, Breaden Market, cashed in on SNAP benefits
more than ten times the amount of larger stores in the area, raising red flags among investigators.
A judge eventually convicted and sentenced George Rafidi, 62, to 33 months in prison
in February and ordered him to pay that $2.8 million back.

Florida Investigators Discover More than $20 Million in Food Stamp Fraud
The Division of Public Assistance Fraud, which works within Florida's Department of Children
and Families to investigate welfare fraud, uncovered $20,719,036 worth of food stamp
fraud in South Florida over the past fiscal year.
The agency said it uncovered the majority of fraud when paging through SNAP benefit
applications stating fraudulent household information.

Baltimore Man Sentenced to Four Years for $3.7 Million Food Stamp Fraud
A Baltimore store owner got slapped with a four-year prison sentence for carrying out
$3.7 million worth of food stamp fraud.
Mohammad Shafiq, 51, was one of 14 other Baltimore-area retailers sentenced to $16 million worth of
food stamp fraud, where they exchanged SNAP benefits for cash.
The judge ordered Shafiq to pay back that $3.7 million to the federal government and
serve three years of supervised release following the end of his sentence.

Three Wisconsin Men Who Carried Out $1.2 Million Food Stamp Fraud Sentenced to Hard Time
A judge sentenced three Milwaukee, Wisconsin, convenience store owners—Kanwar Gill, 67,
Raviinder Gill, 27, and George Nance, 59—to prison terms ranging from 15-20 months in
October after the three had been found guilty of exchanging cash for SNAP benefits.
Their store, Quick N EZ, had been an authorized retailer that accepts food stamp benefits,
but the $1.2 million in benefits the store redeemed was far beyond the amount the small
convenience store was expected to redeem.
Records show that all three men had been ordered to pay back the $1.2 million in fraudulently
earned money.

Seven Food Stamp Fraud Recipients Plead Guilty to Taking Part in $5 Million Food Stamp Fraud
Although most people who carry out massive food stamp fraud are store owners and shopkeepers,
sometimes the beneficiaries themselves take part in the fraud.
Seven South Carolina women who received SNAP benefits as part of a $5 million scheme pleaded
guilty to defrauding the government of more than $20,000.
The judge, however, ruled that the women could avoid jail time if they paid back the fraudulently-obtained
money by the end of 2017.
The store owners involved in that scheme were not so lucky—three out of the five-store
owners faced five-year prison terms and were expected to pay back up to $5 million to the
federal government.

Fundamentalist Mormon Sect Conducts $11 Million Food Stamp Fraud
Not all food stamp fraudsters are convenience store owners or food stamp recipients.
The FBI recently took down a fundamentalist Mormon sect in Utah after discovering that
Lyle Jeffs, the former polygamous sect leader, orchestrated an $11 million food stamp scheme
that involved transferring benefits to a communal warehouse and several front companies.
Jeffs reportedly had several female members of the sect carry out food stamp trafficking.
A judge sentenced Jeffs to five years in prison and ordered him to pay $1 million of that
money back to the federal government.

Iraqi Immigrant Pleads Guilty to $1.4 Million Food Stamp Fraud
An Iraqi immigrant pleaded guilty to $1.4 million in food stamp fraud in November for
conspiring with others to defraud the U.S. government.
Ali Ratib Daham, 40, of Maine, gave customers cash in exchange for SNAP and Women, Infant,
and Children (WIC) program benefits.
He then redeemed the full value of the benefits to obtain more money from the government fraudulently.
The naturalized U.S. citizen is expected to face a harsh prison sentence for his crime—he
faces up to 20 years behind bars and will most likely be expected to pay back the $1.4
million to the government.
All of these criminals should work off the money they stole from the American people
and then some.
It is egregious to witness this level of fraud happening in our country unchecked for so
long while real people are suffering.
No one is saying that people should not have access to government assistance if they fall
on hard times but this is downright disgusting.
Thank goodness President Trump is doing what he can to shut down those that commit welfare
fraud and give back to the American people.

MTG Young Mage Top 8 of 2017 - Duration: 9:24.
Welcome Young Mage, I'm Rhino.
We are done with 2017 and it is time to look back.
Many people do a top 10 of something about the year.
It could be the cards, players, decks, … whatever.
We are going to do a top 8 of things about the Young Mage Channel.
And we are starting right now.
Reaching and Teaching Young Mages of all ages.
This is the first time I have looked back at a whole year.
There have been a lot of changes to Young Mage.
Let's start with Number 8
Sponsors and Patrons.
2017 was the year of my first Sponsor, Fodder Cannon Games.
They have been a huge help.
I met one of them at a Star City Games Open.
They were very impressed and decided to support the channel.
They send me cards, I do videos about the cards.
I even did a couple of videos about their store.
Also for 2017 we focused Patreon money on something specific.
We gained a lot of loyal patrons.
And we got to start some amazing things.
More on that later.
Many would put Sponsors and Patrons at the top of the list
for me they are what really starts things.
They are the foundation of the channel.
Number 7
Subscribers and Views.
On August 24 almost 2 years since starting the Young Mage Channel
We reached 1,000 subscribers.
It wasn't until November that we reached 100,000 views.
These are nice milestones.
It's not the number of subscribers and views that matter.
It's the growth.
The focus of Young Mage has always been reaching and teaching Young Mages of all ages.
Growth is an indication of the first part: Reaching.
You have to reach the mages to teach them.
Number 6
Fan art.
I got my first piece of Fan art in April.
I was shocked.
My parents almost cried.
Someone decided to spend time doing some art for me.
That is just amazing.
And less than a month ago, I received my second piece of Fan Art.
This really captured me.
I think I'll be making some Young Mage tokens with this art.
Or maybe something else.
We'll see.
Number 5
Stuff from Wizards of the Coast.
Wizards of the Coast isn't a sponsor of Young Mage.
They do like what we are doing.
And from time to time they send us stuff.
It's like a big thank you.
They sent me the Holiday card.
A Duel Deck.
Explorers of Ixalan.
And Unstable.
Right now we have been spending time on Unstable.
It's so much fun.
Soon we will get into the other stuff.
But when the company says thank you, it's really nice.
Number 4
Collaborations.
There are some words we use in the game.
Opponent.
Competition.
Adversary.
They are aspects of the game, not aspects of a YouTuber.
In the Magic the Gathering Community, we don't really have competition.
We all work together, to teach and entertain.
So it's great when we get a chance to collaborate with other channels.
For me it doesn't matter the size of the audience.
One thing my dad taught me is math is really strange in business.
Everyone knows that 1 + 1 = 2.
But when one YouTuber works with another, 1 + 1 = 5.
We have done a bunch of collaborations this year.
Do you think we will do more next year?
Of course we will.
Number 3
Going Live.
One thing we decided at the beginning of the year was to focus the Patreon money on live
streaming.
So as money came in we worked to make the streaming rig better.
My dad programmed the battle overlay.
We have gotten a lot of compliments on it.
And now it has been put onto a Raspberry Pi.
We do about one stream a week.
The quality has been pretty nice, but still have a long way to go.
The streaming computer needs some bigger upgrades.
We will see those in 2018.
Number 2
Preview
Yeah.
Some might think that this should have been combined with number 5.
We don't think so.
Wizards of the Coast started sending us Preview cards for the new sets.
The first was with Hour of Devastation and the River Hoopoe.
This isn't something physical like a booster box.
It's an opportunity to be part of the hype of the new set.
We really like taking the chance to do something fun and creative.
Something with flavor.
This game is supposed to be fun.
It's not all about counters, card advantage and triggers.
It's about the fun.
We like having fun both playing and teaching the game.
Wizards has given us the chance to have more FUN with the preview cards.
Number 1

Before I tell you number one,
I have cards up here for some of the things I talked about in this top 8.
Check them out and see history.
Number one is the Epilepsy Fundraiser.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving we did a Fundraiser for the Epilepsy Foundation.
I wanted to do a fundraiser for them because I have Epilepsy.
They have helped me a lot.
I get to participate in activities with them free of charge.
I wanted to do this to say thank you.
I was asked what is my goal?
I wanted to raise $200.
My dad said to think bigger.
I didn't think I could even get to $200.
That's a huge number for me.
He told me that if you don't shoot for really big goals, you only reach tiny ones.
So I said $2000.
We did a 7 and a half hour live stream.
It was a lot of work to setup.
We got some sponsors to do giveaways so we could help spread the word.
We reached that $2000 goal and we went past it to $2025.
That was an amazing feeling.
I'm so glad that Young Mage could do this.
As you can see, 2017 has been a really amazing year.
We have lots of plans for 2018 starting with…
