The way they look out for others is different than in Japan.

they experience a culture shock.

However Japanese people get the same culture shock when they go abroad

Or when they interact with foreigners who have come to Japan.

This time we are gonna go and Ask Japanese what gave them a culture shock

When they dealt with foreigners.

Look out for things that you should not do when you come to Japan. Let's ask Japanese.

Have you been abroad before?

I have never been abroad.

I have been to China.

I went to Shanghai and such.

I've never been outside Japan yet.

Where would you like to go to? - The UK!

When you went abroad, what surprised you?

When I went abroad, I realized how much better Japanese food is.

Especially the rice.

I thought how much more I like our rice.

In other countries, the rice is so dry and that's very different.

Different from what you imagined? - Yes a bit.

Was there any cultural difference that surprised you?

The way they catch.

If you go to a tourist or souvenir shop, without mercy

they approach you quite forcefully

That force made me give in a little.

Would you say that was scary?

It's super scary! I got captured alone.

Even though the goods are cheap they try to sell it for a high price.

Made me realize how different our public safety is too.

You said you wanted to go to the UK, what cultural difference is there?

Japanese food is so good, so maybe the food in the UK is not good...

I heard about that...

My recommend would be to ask a local about which place is good and tasty.

My family went to Thailand before.

Even though they went for only one week they gained 7 kilo.

So I thought, the food must be just as good as in Japan then.

What surprised me.... they were all so huge.

It surprised me how big really.

Food portions there are so big.

I looked at the pictures my Sis took abroad.

The drinks at all the fast food stores were so big.

Yeah that was our graduation trip.

When I went to primary school, my favorite teacher was from Australia.

And since then I always wanted to visit.

Counting up the money was really hard.

There was also a gun range.

A place where you could pay money to try shooting a real gun. That was a surprise.

I almost didn't believe it.

I sucked a little at it.

What things are different from abroad compared to Japan?

Japanese people are holding back a lot with people they meet the first time.

We keep our distance.

But foreigners look out differently for others who they meet the first time.

Because they are more friendly, the other person will find it easier to open up.

I think it's a total opposite to how Japanese people deal with new people.

But if people are friendly at the start, I would be happy to visit other countries.

Are Japanese people surprised when strangers are instantly nice to them?

Yes some are. Also I heard from my friends who went abroad

that the culture is so different that I need to actually experience it once.

Have you ever been abroad - We have.

Where did you go? - Australia.

I never went.

Guam and Hawaii.

If you never went abroad where do you wanna go? - Hawaii!

I want to swim in the ocean of Hawaii. I really want to swim there.

Where do you wanna go? - Hawaii and America.

Now those who went abroad. What culture shock did you get?

There were barely any traffic lights. So cars and many people were using the same road.

In Sydney, Australia. A place with many shops.

There were so many people and no traffic lights, I was really shocked to see that.

Juice tasted so different that I could absolutely not drink it.

Why not? - It didn't like the taste at all.

Was it too sweet? - Way too sweet.

So people who have not been abroad. What stories from abroad surprised you?

How friendly foreign people like you are.

Foreigners don't take off their shoes.

Their eye colors. Foreigners have different eye colors!

Ok culture shock. We asked about Culture Shock in Japan.

Japanese people what culture shock they got.

I would like to ask a couple of culture shock things that foreigners do

IN JAPAN that kind of surprised or shocked me a little bit.

Not what surprised me in Japan because we talked about that before

actually things that foreigners do here that you shouldn't really do here

I was surprised about it. Let me list this down.

One thing: Take pictures without asking. It's kind of rude and really shocking.

Generally Japanese people will always ask you before you take a picture

because it's actually kind of illegal to just take pictures of people

without asking them. There is actually a law against that.

Some tourists think "Hey I am in this country now, I'm gonna take it all without asking"

Don't do that. Always ask when you take pictures of people.

It's very much their privacy. Even when we are shooting out

on the streets for TV or Ask Japanese, there are many people who will cover

their faces when they even go past the camera. Because they don't wanna be in shots

they really protect their privacy so don't go take pictures of people

It's so rude!

I am sorry I don't use the word "hate" much but I hate that, it's so rude.

Next thing: Cutting in line. I am shocked to find some people think they

can cut in line just because that person comes from a different country.

OMG never ever do that.

It will not only make YOU look bad, it will make ALL foreigners look bad.

People will look at this, and thing "foreigners they all do that. They cut in line."

Even if you try to be the best person, you will look bad if someone else

does the same. So please don't cut in line!

This is one of the foundations that Tokyo is build on.

If everyone was going and cutting in line ...

Tokyo would not work. It wouldn't function.

There couldn't be a Tokyo like it is now.

Haggling for a bargain. You don't really see that. You see elderly ladies

... I've actually never seen anyone trying to haggle for a price. Sometimes you see

elderly ladies who try to get away with something but generally don't haggle.

And I've seen it a couple of times when foreigners tried to haggle with the shop staff

to get the price lower for something... and there is a massive cue behind and...

everyone just thinks "You are not cool."

You ... insert swearword here.

Because everyone is waiting, you can't really haggle and

the staff is even sometimes not allowed to give you a discount so

Don't haggle. It just makes you look bad.

And everyone is gonna think that people from your country are all like that.

The next thing is kind of connected. It's a very touchy thing.

I know in some countries you have less large personal space.

In Japan you have moments when you are squished against strangers, that's fine

generally there is a certain amount of personal space after that.

Unless you are riding the train in Japan which apparently overrides every law.

Try and value people's personal space. Don't go too close to people.

Also when people take pictures, people dressed in Harajuku fashion

and ask, love that.

Some people just go and put their arm around you or around your waist.

You don't touch people in Japan, so if you take a picture with a Japanese person

that is not your friend and you start touching them...

They will feel very uncomfortable and to be honest I feel uncomfortable

when people just randomly go "Hey can I take a picture?"

I am like "Yes" and they suddenly touch me and I am just like "Whoa!"

Whoa what'S going on? So that's a culture shock I get

Obviously in Western Societies it's ok but it shocks me a little bit.

Just a couple of things to look out for when you come to Japan.

Iran has not been doing too well in recent years.

Especially over the last few weeks with all the protesting.

Now another controversy is making headlines.

Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was arrested for inciting unrest against the

Iranian government.

The former President was visiting the western city of Busehehr after Christmas on December

28th.

He was apprehended in that same city.

The newspaper reported the following about Ahmadinejad,

"Some of the current leaders live detached from the problems and concerns of the people,

and do not know anything about the reality of society."

Apparently, the reason for his protesting was to speak out against the so-called suffering

and mismanagement of the current presidential administration.

Specifically, that President Ahmadinejad feels the current government feels they are entitled

to all the land in Iran and that they treat the Iranian people like they are an ignorant

society.

The Daily Mail reported,It comes after more than a week of unrest in Iran, as demonstrators

took to the streets to protest against the government.

The unrest was sparked by a hike in food prices amid soaring unemployment.

At least 21 people have been killed, and hundreds have been arrested.

Pro-government rallies were held in response with officials blaming the anti-government

unrest on foreign meddling.

Authorities are now said to be seeking to place Ahmadinejad under house arrest.

Today, the Iranian parliament held a closed-door meeting to discuss the deadly protests that

shook the country.

In December, Ahmadinejad's former deputy Hamid Baghaie was sentenced to 15 years in

prison on financial charges.

Among his charges was reportedly 'insulting judiciary officials' for which he was sentenced

to two years and six months in prison.

He was imprisoned for seven months in 2015 for reasons that were never made public, though

he was previously investigated for irregularities during his time in office."Metro UK reported,

"Authorities are now planning to put Ahmadinejad under house arrest and are considering whether

to charge him with a crime.

The former president relied on the votes of poor rural voters during his time in office

when he regularly goaded Israel and America.

The current protests are said to be the largest to strike Iran since mass demonstrations in

2009.

Those protests – referred to as the Green Movement – were held by millions of opposition

supporters against the disputed election victory of then-president Ahmadinejad.

At least 30 people were killed and thousands arrested in the wave of protests, which drew

the largest crowds since the Islamic Revolution in 1979."

Amole Larijani is Irans fifth head of the judicial system and he has accused Ahmadinejad

of the same thing that Shiite clerics and politician Mehdi Karroubi and former prime

minister Mir-Hossein Mousavi were found to be guilty of which led to their house arrest.

But Ahmadinejad mocked Larijani by responding,

"I have no children spying for the West, I have no brothers who are actively smuggling

goods, and I do not steal land to raise my cattle."

The protests that have occurred in recent days and the former president's outspoken

comments aren't the only thing going on.

Student protests have been occurring as well and it doesn't appear to be stopping anytime

soon.

It was reported,

"Ninety university students are among the more than 1,000 people arrested in Iran's

unrest, an Iranian MP has said.

Mahmoud Sadeghi, who represents an electoral district in Tehran, was quoted by the Iranian

labour news agency as saying: "It seems that the total number of detainees is around

90.

Ten students from universities in Tehran and some other cities are in an uncertain position

and … it is still unknown which body has detained them."

It comes as Emily Thornberry defended Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn over his silence on the

civil unrest in Iran, saying the party takes an approach of "extreme caution" when

it comes to the politics of the Islamic republic.

The shadow foreign secretary told the BBC it was impossible to determine what political

forces lay behind the protests, which began on 28 December and are said to have led to

at least 21 deaths – mostly of protesters but also some security guards, according to

officials.Corbyn has been under increasing pressure to speak out about the protests.

Tom Tugendhat, who chairs the Commons foreign affairs committee, said it was "extraordinary"

that Labour had not spoken out against the Iranian regime.

Thornberry told the BBC's Political Thinking podcast: "Our approach now is one of extreme

caution when it comes to Iran and a recognition that the society in Iran is an immensely complex

one, and seemingly contradictory.

"For example, with these current riots, sometimes they are calling to reinstate the

monarchy, sometimes they're calling out against [Ayatollah Ali] Khamenei, sometimes

they're calling for Khamenei, sometimes they're calling for the price of eggs.

"It's very difficult, in those circumstances, to actually come to a conclusion as to what

political forces are behind the current disputes on the streets of Iran."

It is very clear that all these protests and uprisings are speaking to a larger issue.

Indicating things aren't doing well for the Arab country.

The civil unrest isn't going away and it is hitting all aspects of society with students,

politicians, and citizens.

It is time Iran finally get some social and economic change so that they can catch up

with the twenty-first century and supporting these protestors is the first step towards

doing that.

Perfect Oil-free Oven-baked Fries {sweet potatoes or regular potatoes} - Duration: 6:08.

So today I'm also going to show you how to make fries, oven baked fries and

today I'm using.. sweet potatoes! so you can actually do the same technique with

regular potatoes, now with regular potatoes what I do is actually buy them

organic because they're in the Dirty Dozen

I also wash them and I keep the peel on because I like the fries with the peel on

but you can also peel them if that's what you prefer, in the case of

sweet potatoes I always peel them because the skin is just not the same

I'm going to go ahead and peel the potatoes,

what I do to peel the potatoes

sweet potatoes faster is I just cut the ends so that way it will be easier with

my peeler to just peel them, now that I peeled all the sweet potatoes I just put

them on the tray for now and I'm going to cut them into fries so they're not

exactly even but that's perfect for me because that's how I like them

they're really homemade so if you look at this

so I'm going to put them all into a big bowl

Yes, mommy is going to be really careful

Now that the sweet potatoes are all cut

and ready to add some flavoring to it

I am getting to the best part of this recipe, the trick,

the secret to this recipe is:

mustard! so we're gonna be using Dijon mustard but

you can also do this recipe with regular yellow mustard

whether you are doing sweet potatoes

or regular potatoes

it doesn't matter this is the trick so that

you can do homemade fries

without any oil without any fat

I'm not what I'm using is silicone sheets

they're pretty pretty easy to find

like a few years ago it would have been harder than now because a lot of

people are.. there's a lot of demand for it

so there's a lot of stores that have them

if you don't have silicone sheets

which would be a great investment

you can also use parchment paper so that you can simply toss in the

garbage once you're done but this is obviously a more eco-friendly version

now all that you have to do is just simply stir

you can also use your hands it's a lot easier if you use your hands now for

this video I'm just using a spatula because I didn't want to dirty the camera

now that the potatoes are evenly coated you can now add the

seasonings that you want

I often just put the Dijon mustard on, as is, that's it

nothing else and I just put it right straight on the tray and then they're

delicious just like that you don't need to add anything else but today what I'm

going to do is I'm going to put half on the tray as is

and I'm going to do half which

are going to be this spicy fries

I'm just going to put them on the tray flat

so that they can evenly cook

and I'm going to leave a little bit of space in

between them so that they.. they don't stick

and now all the sweet potatoes on the tray,

on baking tray and I'm just going to pop them in the oven

I set the temperature of the oven at 450

we'll check back again soon

and I will show you how they look like once they are cooked

I just got the potatoes out of the oven

that was exactly 53 minutes at 450F

I guess you have to go with your oven and at the exact time they look

delicious because that's how I like them all nice and crispy

How to Overcome Feelings of Hopelessness - Duration: 6:08.

Years ago I was working at a hospital and came across an interesting patient.

Many Doctors ran tests on her and it appeared nothing was wrong with her.

They kept encouraging her to get out of bed, walk around, and eat in the cafeteria but

she repeatedly kept saying, " I can't,I'm glued to the bed," "I'm glued to the

bed."

She never even tried to get out of bed.

She was metaphorically speaking of course, but I believe that can explain your hopelessness.

People around you don't see what's keeping you stuck where you are, but what matters

most is what you believe.

As long as you believe you're stuck, you may feel hopeless never try moving

This video is going to offer 3 ideas that act as glue remover to help you get unstuck,

to help you make progress in all areas of your life, and generate hope for a better

future.

Let's get started with the first idea on how to overcome feelings of hopeless now.

1.

Reverse Uncle Ben's quote: In the movie Spiderman, Peter Parker's uncle shares a

memorable line you probably agree with, "With great power comes great responsibility."

The issue with this line is that when you feel hopeless this doesn't apply to you.

When you are hopeless you feel don't have any power.

What if this quote was reversed?

With great responsibility, comes great power

This can transform your life.

I remember years ago feeling hopeless on getting a raise.

I had been working at this company for 5 years and knew this one women who was my age, had

been working with the company for only a year, yet was making $4 extra than me.

I kept saying she was making more because of something she had that was out of my control

She looked like Cameron Diaz, and I kept saying that I needed to be an attractive women in

order to make the money I wanted.

But then I decided to take responsibility and focus on things I can control and give

credit to my co-worker.

She had a great attitude, worked a lot harder than me, and exceptional communication skills.

Maybe I wasn't attractive like my co-worker, but I knew back then I had a negative attitude,

wasn't giving my best effort and struggled to talk to people.

I started working on my attitude, striving to go above and beyond what was asked of me,

and work on my communication skills.

By taking responsibility, I found the power, and in a short time I found myself making

the income I wanted and then some.

It's easy to feel hopeless when others have advantages that you don't.

I'm not saying life is fair, but what I will say is that when you take responsibility

for developing a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and effective communication skills,

you generate power, and with that power you become hopeful for your future.

One of the keys to generating hope is taking responsibility for your life.

Remember to reverse Uncle Ben's quote.

"With great responsibility, comes great power."

2.

Stop Pursuing Only Marshmallows

I'm going to use Lucky Charms Cereal to illustrate my point here.

What causes you to lose a lot of hope is having expectations of being happy all the time,

and to achieve massive success with little effort.

This is almost like picking out all the marshmallows out of the lucky charms and eating a bowl

of just marshmallows, not with the other parts, which we will call the wood pieces.

The marshmallow pieces taste better, but it's the wood pieces that offer the most nutrients,

the wood pieces are what's best for you.

Sorrow, failure, and doubt serve as wood pieces in your life.

Without all these negative parts of your life, you would never grow, you would never appreciate

the sweet parts of your life, and you probably not fully live a fulfilled life.

Transformational speaker Kyle Cease has said, "You're not here to feel happy, you're

here to feel fully."

I will tell you from experience, that eating only marshmallows, is too sweet, the mix of

marshmallow and wood pieces are far more tasty.

I believe if you change your expectations and embrace the low moments of your life,

embrace your wood pieces, you'll appreciate your life more and start having magically

delicious hope for a better tomorrow

3.

Keep your promises

In the movie Jingle All the Way, starring Arnold Swarzenegger, the fictional superhero

Turboman offers a nugget of wisdom I want us to reflect on, "Always keep your promises

if you want to keep your friends."

Trust is crucial to having high quality relationships, but if you want hope you need to keep promises

to yourself.

I look back on my life and the times I felt most hopeless is when I lost trust in myself.

There are so many goals I had, that I kept putting off.

I would say, "I'll start tomorrow."

But when you keep saying you'll do something and don't do it, you lose hope in yourself,

your word means nothing.

Hopelessness lies in your believe in you're future never changing, Hopelessness occurs

when you're lacking confidence in yourself, you can change all of this by taking action

on what you say you're going to do today.

Maybe you've said you want to write a book someday, forget someday, forget writing an

entire book, write one paragraph today.

Maybe you've said you want to have abs someday, forget someday, forget abs, just exercise

for 10 minutes today.

I will tell you, that once you trust yourself to execute on the small promises you made

to yourself, you can trust yourself to execute on bigger promises, your inner voice becomes

your best friend.

By making progress you generate hope, with that hope comes the power truth that you're

never stuck where you are, the power to realize you CAN transform your life, and the power

to realize your best days are in front of you.

My friend I hope you realize you are never stuck where you are, Use these 3 ideas to

get yourself unstuck today

Reverse Uncle Ben's quote, It's not with great power, comes great responsibility

It's with great responsibility, comes great power.

I know life isn't fair, others have advantages that you don't, but when you take responsibility

to develop a great attitude, outstanding work ethic, and excellent communication skills

you give yourself the power to transform your life

Stop pursuing only marshmallows

A life of 100 percent marshmallows will make you sick, just like all happiness and no struggle

leads to a miserable life.

When the wood pieces come into your life, embrace them, and know that they make your

life more magically delicious.

And lastly, Keep your promises as Turboman said "Always keep your promises if you want

to keep your friends."

Build that trust in yourself and do what you say you're going to do.

Even if it's just a baby step, watch how the trust in yourself grows over time, watch

how hopeful you become for your future, and watch how your inner voice becomes your best

friend.
