Youtube daily report Oct 2 2018

All right.

Hey, everyone.

I'm Alex.

Thanks for clicking, and welcome to this lesson on "20 Intransitive Phrasal Verbs".

"Intransitive", this means these phrasal verbs do not have objects.

Now, some examples of transitive phrasal verbs are, for example: "My friend opened up a business."

This means...

"Business" is an object, my friend opened it, and he opened up a business.

"I will call you back", "you" are the object and I will call you back, so these two examples:

"Open up a business", "Call someone back", they both have objects which means they are

transitive.

These phrasal verbs don't have objects, no objects, they just exist by themselves.

They don't need an object after.

Okay?

So, let's look at the first 10.

First: "break down".

"My car broke down."

So, here, this means that your car stopped working.

Now, you can't say, like: "My car broke down", you know, something else, like if I ran over

a motorcycle with my car, say: "My car broke down a motorcycle."

You can't say that.

Okay?

It's just: "My car broke down.

My car stopped working."

Other things that can break down: Your computer, your phone, usually mechanical things-okay?-or

electronic things.

Next:

"Catch on".

If something catches on, it means it starts to become popular.

So, viral videos on YouTube catch on.

Okay?

For example: "That new dance is really catching on."

I'm not going to mention the dance and the example, because by the time you see this

video, there's probably a new Gangnam Style or a new dab, or something like that available

to the young kids out there in the dance clubs.

So: "That new dance is really catching on", it means that that dance is becoming popular.

"Die out".

If something dies out or is dying out, or has been dying out, it means it is slowly

dying, slowly decreasing in popularity.

So, for example: "Blackberry", the company, the cellphone company.

"Blackberry has been dying out for years, for many years."

So, the Blackberry is not as popular as, you know, it was or is not as popular as the iPhone

or Android phones, so the company's popularity has been dying out.

Okay?

If a species of animal, or insect, or anything is going extinct, you can also say: "That

animal, that species is dying out."

So, bees, for example, are dying out across the world, which means we will all be dead

soon.

Next: "drop by".

"Can we drop by the bank?"

So: "to drop by", this means to make a quick stop, make a quick visit.

Now, you're saying: "Alex, you said intransitive phrasal verbs have no object.

Why is the bank here?"

Well, you're not dropping the bank, you're not doing something to the bank.

The bank is not an object, here.

The bank is merely a location.

Okay?

So: "Can we drop by?", "Can we stop...?"

You can also say: "Stop by".

"Can we drop by the bank?", "Can we make a visit by the bank?", "Can we stop by grandma's

house?", "Can we stop by the grocery store?", "Can we make a stop and then continue to another

location?"

Next: "end up".

"Where did you end up?"

Okay?

So: Where did you, you know, end your travels?

What is your final location?

Not only a physical location, it can also be, you know: "Where did you end up in your

career?

Where did you finish in your career?"

Okay.

"I ended up working for Apple."

Or: "I ended up working for Microsoft."

I ended up doing something, my final location, my final destination in my work life or in

my personal life, or a physical location, too, it can be.

So: -"Oh yeah.

Where did you end up moving to?"

-"Oh, we ended up moving to London", for example.

Or: "We ended up moving to Cadaqus", whatever.

All right.

"Get back".

So: "We got back from vacation yesterday."

So: "to get back" in this context means to return.

So: "We got back from vacation yesterday."

We returned from vacation yesterday.

Next: "go ahead".

Okay?

So if you're telling someone to go ahead, you're telling them to go before you, and

you will catch up with them later.

So: "You go ahead.

I will meet you there."

Okay?

So, you and your friend, you have a plan and, you know, you have to do something at home

first, maybe wash your dishes or do the laundry, or I don't know, help your sister with something,

or help your son or daughter with their homework, and you say: "Okay, you go ahead.

I will meet you there.

I will be, you know, 15 minutes late", for example.

"You go first."

"Grow up".

So: "to grow up" means to mature, where you became an adult or where you grew up.

"They grew up in Braslia", so that is where they were born, and that is where, you know,

they became...

Turned from children into adults, or adolescents and everything.

So: "They grew up in Braslia."

You can't, like, grow up a person, grow up a thing, grow up an object.

No object, intransitive.

Okay?

You can grow the flowers, you can grow things in a garden, but you can't grow up flowers.

It doesn't really exist, that expression.

So: "Where did you grow up?"

"Hold on".

So: "Could you hold on a minute?"

So this just means to, you know, wait.

So, if you ask someone to hold on, you can't hold on something.

You can, like, hold on: "Just hold on.

Just wait."

Okay?

"Could you hold on a minute?"

And "move in".

So, if you move in...

The opposite of "move in" is "move out".

When, you know, you get a new apartment, a new house, a new change where you are living

and you move your furniture, you move all the things you have, your clothes, your bed,

whatever: "Hey.

When did you move in?"

If you have a new neighbour, for example: "Oh, you're new.

When did you move in?"

You could say: "I moved in last week."

Okay?

And if you say: "move into", then you can have an object.

You can say: "I moved into my apartment."

But here, "move in", intransitive.

All right?

Okay.

It's making sense?

Not too bad so far?

Okay.

10 more?

Let's do 10 more.

10 more.

All right, next we have: "set off".

So: "to set off" is used in a very specific context, this means that you start a journey

at a specific time.

So, for example: "We set off at 6 o'clock."

This could be a present sentence or it could be a past sentence, because the past of "set"

is "set", so you could say, you know: "Our boat" or "We got in the car and started our

journey at 6 o'clock.", "We set off at 6 o'clock."

Or, in the future: "Oh, we set off at 6 o'clock.

Be ready."

Okay?

"We leave at 6 o'clock."

Next: "show up".

So, this means to appear, what time you appeared at a place.

So: "When are you going to show up?"

If you're talking to a friend and they're waiting for you somewhere, like at the mall

or in front of the movie theatre, or at a caf somewhere and you're late, you can

say: "When are you going to show up?"

So, you know: "I'm going to show up late.", "I'm going to show up early.", "I'll show

up when I want to show up."

Whatever.

Next: "slow down".

To slow down is just...

You can use it like a command, to go slower.

"You need to slow down."

Okay?

So you can ask your partner who's sitting in the car next to you in the driver seat,

they're driving too fast: "Okay, you need to slow down.

Please slow down."

Next: "speak out".

So if you are vocal about a topic that most people are quiet about, you speak out.

You can speak out against something.

For example, speak out against injustice, against keeping prisoners in prison for a

long time unlawfully.

So, what's the example here?

"If you're not happy, speak out."

So if you're at a job and you want to give, you know, your friend some advice because

they are not satisfied with the job: "If you're not happy, speak out.

Say something."

Next: "take off".

So: "The plane takes off in 30 minutes."

So this refers to the time a plane leaves.

You can use it to talk about people, like the time you have to leave work, for example.

"I'm taking off in five minutes.", "I need to take off early.", "I'm going to take off

soon.", "I'm going to leave."

The most common context, though, is with airplanes, when they take off from the airport and then

land at another airport.

So, to take off, to leave, or for a plane to leave the airport, leave the runway, go

into the sky.

"Turn out".

"The movie turned out okay."

So, you can use "turn out" to talk about the final result of something, the final quality

of something.

So you can use it to talk about how a movie turned out, you know, how the final result

looked like.

If you enjoyed it: "The movie turned out okay.", "The movie turned out really bad.", or "The

movie turned out excellent."

Whatever.

Next: "pass out".

Now, there is a way to use "pass out" in a transitive sentence, if you can, for example,

pass out advertisements, pass out papers, this means to distribute something.

But in this context it is used intransitively.

For example: "They drank until they passed out."

So, "to pass out" means to lose consciousness, so they drank too much, too much alcohol,

and they passed out.

You can also use "pass out", like, in an informal, slang way to mean that you fell asleep because

you're so tired.

You can say: "Oh, I went home and I passed out in two minutes."

Okay?

So you lost consciousness, you, you know...

You went to sleep very, very quickly as if someone punched you and you passed out.

Next: "watch out".

You can use this like a command.

You can watch out for something.

So: "Watch out for cars", this means be alert, be careful.

Next: "turn around".

Very literal, turn around.

Every time I see you, I get a little bit...

Something.

It's a Bonnie Tyler song.

So: "Turn around and look at me."

So, "turn around".

I like to sing, so I'm going to sing.

"Turn around.

Every time I get a little bit closer", that song.

"Turn around bright eyes", that's how it goes.

Let's stop talking about Bonnie Tyler.

Did you know there was a solar eclipse, and she sang: "Total Eclipse of the Heart" on

the day of the eclipse in 2017?

I thought that was pretty cool.

"Turn around and look at me."

All right.

"Catch up".

So, if you are behind something and you need to, you know, get to the same point as someone

else, you need to catch up with them.

So: "You're too far.

I will never catch up."

I will never catch you, get to the same point as you because you're too far.

So, if your friend and you, you're driving somewhere, you're going camping and your friend,

you know, drove and they left, like, five hours ago and you think: "Okay, maybe, you

know, I'll meet them somewhere on the road."

And they say: -"Oh, I left five hours ago."

-"Okay, you're too far.

I will never catch up with you."

Okay?

All right, so just listen and repeat with me on this set of words, here.

Repeat: "set off", "show up", "slow down", "speak out", "take off", "turn out", "pass

out", "watch out", "turn around", "catch up".

Okay.

So, this is a tricky topic.

I recommend you guys, you know, watch this video again.

Metro Tunnel: Cranbourne and Pakenham line benefits - Duration: 1:17.

The Cranbourne and Pakenham lines run into the City Loop,

with trains often delayed by services on other lines.

With only four City Loop tracks,

there is simply not enough room to run more train services.

The Metro Tunnel will give Cranbourne and Pakenham lines a new underground path under the city,

plus access to five new stations; at North Melbourne, Parkville, State Library,

Town Hall and Anzac Station, in Domain.

By untangling the City Loop, more trains can run between the suburbs and the CBD.

The new stations at State Library and Town Hall will provide direct, hassle-free connections to the City Loop,

at Melbourne Central and Flinders Street Station.

Instead of getting off a train and getting on a tram to Parkville or St Kilda Road,

passengers will save time by traveling directly to these areas on a train.

The Metro Tunnel, bigger and better high-capacity trains, and other network improvements

will create room for one hundred and twenty-one thousand extra passengers at peak times

on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines every week.

So whether you live in Narre Warren, Noble Park, or Dandenong,

the Metro Tunnel will mean more trains and less delays on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines.

PLAN WITH ME for October // 2018 Youtober - Duration: 9:25.

hey guys and welcome to you tober day one so it's finally October and I have

been waiting for fall pretty much all year I don't know about you guys but

it's my favorite time of year so I'm really excited that it's here now and he

was excited too because it's not super hot he's not panting when he goes

outside but I literally am just so excited I already had a coffee I drink

all of it it was a pumpkin spice coffee with like almond milk creamer it was

amazing as you know from the title of this video I'm gonna be showing you guys

how to plan so pretty much I'm gonna be walking you guys through all of my

organization tips for each month how I schedule everything and then how I read

it all out my planner everything like that and just how I stay pretty much

organized and keep on top of things so this month I'm hoping like we're gonna

be like alright like video everyday super like organized know what I'm doing

so yeah I'm excited to get organized and just to show you guys like how I do

everything just cuz I feel like it helps me once I am like staying organized so I

hope that you guys learned something from this video and without further ado

let's get right into it

all right so we're gonna start with my big planner so this stays in my room and

this is for me to look at when I walk into my room is it's on top of my

dresser and for Matt to know what he has to do it's like if he has drill for the

military one weekend or anything like that we just kind of put like all really

important stuff collectively on here together and we had like tickets to some

things so we're gonna go ahead and erase all of this and start clean for October

I'm gonna go ahead and start adding in my actual things that I have to do

alright so as you can see I kind of just filled in what I know for right now for

the month and I was things come along I will add to the calendar I was it's just

sitting in my room so I'll just add whatever I need to add to it and then

all my videos are gonna be in green this month so that's my first one you guys

will see and then I will write out all my other ones as I go through after this

video all right so the next part that we have is my planner so this is what it

looks like on the front so just like that and I've had two of these now I

love this style planner and I love big planners just because I need a lot of

space to write especially when I was in school so I don't really use this front

sections big calendar just because I already have the one that's sitting in

my room but I'll show you guys examples from back in school what I would write

in here so as you can see this thing would pretty much be filled so write

everything out and then I would just cross it off as I go and I put a check

mark next to it also it doesn't even have a specific pen they like to use

because I really like using this pilot G 205 just because it has a really small

fine point I don't know if you can even see that that I just really like it

and it writes really smoothly so I feel like I always use these my roommate turned me

on to this and I just always use them so this is where I get kind of the more

tedious things into my calendars the smaller things that don't necessarily

fit on my big calendar so for example today

I just pretty much get really in detail so I write out what videos that I'll be

actually doing obviously I didn't write out the titles to any of the videos just

because you guys won't be seeing those until later on in the week so I don't

want to ruin the surprise but then I write out work out at the bottom of

everyday pretty much because or at least the bottom of every weekday to begin

with just because I try to work out five days a week whatever it might be so

whether it's yoga are actually going to the gym I usually do go to the gym but

some days I'm not feeling it I'll kinda just do yoga or meditate or run yeah

this is pretty much how I plan everything out so I'm going to go ahead

and just add in a couple more of the bigger things that I'm gonna be doing

this month and then I'll get back to you guys

all right so I pretty much have everything written in for the months so

far so everything that I know I'm gonna be doing so let me just flip through

here for you guys so you can see it

alright and the third part of my video is how I stay organized and it all is in

this right here I know it's dirty but it's so helpful. Your dad's home Archie guy. What otter? Why?

What otter?

gonna pack my things and i gotta go

why?

i got to

why?

i'm filming a video right now you can join me or like if you want it alright so

don't mind Archer he's just standing on my fresh calendar that I just wrote out

with dry erase marker so he's probably gonna wipe all of it off he's going

crazy cuz his dad just got homw but I just have to throw this in here really quick

so the third section of this video is organization so the main way can you

can you chill? hey. hey. calm down.

so the main way that I find that I used to organize best is by always

keeping a notebook on hand so this bad boy comes with me everywhere and I like

to switch it out into purses I bring it in my backpack I put it in every single

bag that I'm bringing and I always bring this thing with me because I'm always

I'm a very creative person thoughts are always just coming to me about different

ideas that I want to do so if I can just whip this out and i don't have to write on napkins

and restaurants because those get thrown away really easily and ruined so I just

have this and then I can kind of just go back to like oh I remember I wrote this

idea down let me go back to it and see what I said about it cuz I want to

execute the idea now so I'll just flip through a couple of pages so you can

kind of get an idea for things that I have made a list of I mean I do grocery

lists so anytime I have like a very busy day all instead of doing my planner I'll

go into this notebook I'll just go back 15 minute intervals or whatever exact

amount of time that I think it'll take to finish a task and I'll just write

down my whole day and just time everything out and try to get everything

done in that amount of time so here's an example of some lists that I've made to

be like a grocery list over here and then a couple of days just like in a row

of times I needed to get things done oh and I also keep a pen in this so I'm

never looking for a pen I have it right in my notebook that's why I love spiral

notebooks so I was reading the law of attraction and I was making a list about

what my ideal career would be so that's another list that I did very organized

archers right here on the camera hey little guy so I highly recommend getting

yourself as a plane like spiral notebook wherever you like best to bring with you

and just throw it in your purse every single day and you will not regret it

okay okay guys and I'm not joking when I say that I have used pretty much every

single page in this notebook except for this this has been my saving

grace this year so I highly recommend in order to stay organized get yourself a

notebook come on alright guys so this has been how to plan with me at my

organizational video to show you guys how I plan for each month and keep

organized during the year so obviously there are tons of other ways that you

can stay organized and there I mean there are hundreds of apps

that help you do it I just find that when I've used my phone to stay

organized in the past I never remember to do things and like all set myself

reminders but I never am looking in my phone at the tasks I'm setting let's be

honest Archer don't knock that down no cannot do them Hey

stopping bad so anyway there are tons of different things you can do on your

phone but I found in the past that I'm not looking at my phone when I'm wanting

to be organized I'll be like on Instagram or Twitter or something like

that some like I just could not be using my phone to stay organized because it's

too much of a distraction to me so when I am writing things down whether it's in

this or in my actual planner right here then I just feel so much more organized

so much more put together anyway I hope that this video has helped you in any

way and I'm looking forward to hearing how you stay organized I'll see you guys

in tomorrow's video bye guys

A Brief History Computer Animation: 1983-1995 - Duration: 8:26.

Over the next few months we are going to be producing a series of videos on the history

of computer animation. In the last video we saw the ways early innovators used computers

for expression and how Hollywood first embraced computer generated special effects. In this

video we will step away from the abstract towards the adorable and the terrifying as

advancements in technology make fully computer-animated narratives a reality.

Since the 1920s, animation had been largely defined by American cartoons.

Many of the characters featured in these films became beloved pieces of pop culture, with some even eclipsing

their creators, becoming part of the national identity.

With the technological limitations of early computing, artists could not render anthropomorphic figures,

instead relying on abstract imagery.

By the early 1980s, graphic interfaces had advanced to the point where humans and computers could

collaborate with relative ease.

In 1984, Eddie Garrick produced The Magic Egg: A Computer Odyssey.

Intended for IMAX, The Magic Egg has been described as "a computer-graphics

Fantasia." It was an audio/visual experience created entirely on computer, featuring synthesizers

and animation commissioned from artists and research labs. Contributors included John

Whitney, who we discussed at length in part one, as well as the Computer Graphics Lab

at the New York Institute of Technology. At the time, NYIT was the top computer animation

research facility in the world. It had been founded with the purpose of not only simplifying

the animation process but of taking the medium in new directions.

In 1979, the lab began production on what it hoped would be the first ever fully computer animated narrative

film, titled The Works.

Written by researcher Lance Williams, The Works was to be a futuristic

sci-fi story following a charming robot and a pilot in their battle with a super computer

who has taken over Earth. The project progressed slowly. The staff at NYIT were constantly

developing new technology in order to keep up with their vision and resources were diverted

to commercial projects to fund the ambitious film. Despite having the most powerful computers

available, it still would have taken seven years to generate enough images needed for

the planned 90 minute run-time. In total, 10 minutes of footage and designs were produced

before The Works was abandoned in 1986.

NYIT's goal of creating the first computer animated

narrative would be eventually be achieved in Montreal, Quebec by a group of professors

at the University of Montreal. Nadia Magnenat Thalmann, Philippe Bergeron and Daniel Thalmann

had been experimenting with 3D modelling, specifically 3D character modelling. In 1982,

they produced the 8 minute short, Dream Flight. This featured an alien dreaming of flying

through space and arriving on Earth, exploring the natural world as well as Paris and New York

Bergeron would collaborate with Pierre Lachapelle, Daniel Langlois and Pierre Robidoux

for the landmark short Tony de Peltrie. Finished in 1985, Tony de Peltrie tells the story of

a faded piano player recalling his past glory. Tony was the first computer-animated human

to convey emotion through facial expressions and mannerisms. While he very much falls into

the uncanny valley, we as an audience are still able to feel his melancholy and his joy.

In 1987, Nadia and Daniel produced Rendezvous In Montreal, in which Humphrey Bogart and

Marilyn Monroe agree to come back from the dead, meeting at a Montreal cafe. This marked

the first time a deceased actor's likeness had been digitally reproduced, an effect accomplished

by mapping out polygons on sculptures of the actors and creating a 3D model. While I think

the plot of this film is absurd, the concepts it introduces are terrifying. The idea that

actors, or anyone for that matter, could emulated on film or video posthumously, or not even,

brings up all sorts of legal and ethical questions but more on that in the next video.

Montreal was on fire during the '80s, not only with incredible creative output but also technological

innovation. Every one of these films feels years ahead of its time, each in a different

way, but one of the most influential developments came from Tony de Peltrie co-director Daniel

Langlois. In 1986, he founded the company Softimage and began working on a program that

would allow artists to model, animate and render 3D images specifically for animation.

The result, Softimage3D, became the industry standard and was used not only to create fully

3D environments, but also video game graphics as well as special effects. It was adopted

by George Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic, who had revolutionized CGI in the late 1970s.

In 1979, Lucas had poached the top talent in the field of computer graphics to establish

a department within ILM dedicated to creating computer generated effects. The Graphics Group,

as it was known, was headed by Edwin Catmull. As we covered in the last video, Catmull had

been on the forefront of computer animation throughout the 1970s. He had been working

at NYIT and on The Works when he was approached by Lucas, and along with Alvy Ray Smith, had

made several breakthroughs there, most notably, alpha compositing. When it was clear The Works

was in trouble, Smith jumped ship and joined Catmull at ILM. Their first project here was

the Genesis sequence in Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan.

Both Catmull and Smith came from a science background. I'm sure they were aware that

while technical issues had ultimately doomed The Works, it also suffered from the fact it was

being produced by researchers, rather than filmmakers.

In December of 1983, Catmull brought on animator John Lasseter,

who had recently been fired from Disney, to assist them in creating their first computer

animated narrative. Now while we are going to be addressing the accomplishments of John

Lasseter, I feel it's worth mentioning that in November 2017, he faced allegations of

sexual misconduct towards employees. As we are living in a time where more and more media

is tainted by this sort of behaviour, I think it's important to note that film and animation

are collaborative art forms and his contribution and success would not have been possible without

the work of many talented individuals. Like Alvy Ray Smith, who in 1984 conceived and

directed The Adventures of André & Wally B. It is the simple story of a pestering bee

but it's execution pushed the boundaries of what computer animation was capable of.

It was revolutionary in its use of motion effects and 3D backgrounds, a look towards

the future of animation very much rooted in the tradition of classic American cartoons.

The short was a hit and in 1986, The Graphics Group renamed themselves Pixar, breaking away

from Lucasfilm with funding from Apple founder Steve Jobs. Under Jobs, they would release

a commercial version of their hardware system known as the Pixar Image Computer. Over the

next few years they produced a series of animated shorts intended to promote the Image Computer's

capabilities. Though powerful, it would sell less than 300 units before the hardware department

was sold off in 1990. However, one client who was very pleased with their purchase of

an Image Computer was The Walt Disney Company. Their Feature Animation department utilized

the hardware for its Computer Animation Production System, or CAPS, which allowed hand-drawn

animation to be digitally inked and coloured. 1990's The Rescuers Down Under was the first

Disney feature to be entirely produced with this process, followed by Beauty and The Beast

in 1991. Beauty and The Beast also made use of CAPS ability to blend hand-drawn and computer

animation. The film's famous ballroom scene finds Belle and Beast dancing through a 3D-environment.

Disney executives were impressed with this sequence and decided to invest more resources

into computer animation. Despite the financial struggle caused by the poor sales of the Image

Computer, Steve Jobs agreed to finance Pixar's Tin Toy. The short was intended to showcase

their Renderman software, which allowed photorealistic 3D rendering, and featured a baby interacting

with a musical toy. The film ended up winning the Oscar for Best Animated Short, the first

computer-animated film to do so, and garnered attention from Disney. Disney approached Pixar

with the possibility of producing a feature-length computer-animated narrative, which had long

been a goal of Catmull and Smith. After tense negotiations, they agreed to produce a film

based off Tin Toy, entitled Toy Story. The plot and characters went through many changes,

with the original version being so dark and mean-spirited that the production was even

temporarily shut down. Production was restarted in February 1994, now with the story of two

toys vying for the attention of their owner. The film featured the voice talents of Tom

Hanks and Tim Allen as pull-string cowboy Woody and astronaut Buzz Lightyear, who throughout

the film go from rivals to the best of friends. Each shot passed through eight different animation

teams before going into a render farm of 117 computers running 24 hours a day. It took

anywhere between 45 minutes and 30 hours to render a frame, translating to about three

minutes of finished animation per week. The film was released on November 22, 1995 to

universal praise. For all involved, Toy Story was a dream realized. It was a technical marvel

and ushered in a new era of animation. During this period computer animation became more

and more integrated into filmmaking with Toy Story representing the pinnacle of decades

worth of work and innovation. Its success opened the floodgates and the possibilities

now seemed endless.

I will leave links to relevant material down in the description.

Learn 20 intransitive PHRASAL VERBS in English - Duration: 16:38.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been blamed for Pogba reportedly wanting to leave Manchester United

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson thinks the La Liga duo have turned the player's head, saying: "I'd rather Jose be happy than Pogba

But as we saw last season, Pogba didn't pull up too many trees. "He had a great World Cup, don't get me wrong

But it's always the same with players. Real Madrid and Barcelona come in for you and it turns people's heads

"Everyone wants to play for those two teams, that's the way it is around the world

We see it with [Philippe] Coutinho and other players. "It's turned his head and you're going to have the agent [Mino Raiola] joining in with his little quotes to the newspapers, things like that

He's a World Cup winner now." Chelsea star Hazard fears he has missed out on a move to Real Madrid

The Belgium international would relish the chance to move to the Bernabeu, with the club yet to invest in a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who left for Juventus last month

And the Irish Independent say Hazard fears Chelsea's stance on him will see him stay at Stamford Bridge

The Blues are planning to offer him a new deal. And it is suggested that, if Chelsea thrive under Maurizio Sarri, the forward will persevere with life in west London

Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui has issued a warning to Courtois after his move from Chelsea

He said: "There isn't a magic formula. We need to manage it week by week. "We will see as we go who is best for the team at any given time

We have two magnificent goalkeepers, and others as well. "But of course these are two international-level keepers and we will try to manage it well and make decisions for the team

"Of course there is huge competition for the team but I see it as something positive in that position

It's good for the team to have competition."  Lopetegui has also insisted he is happy with his current options with Real yet to replace Ronaldo this transfer window

He said: "Right now we're focusing on getting the best out of the squad we have which is a squad we love, we have a lot of talent and we're going to work with it/ "We like the players we have and I have no doubts about the squad I have

"Our players have a fantastic attitude, and people are going to see a Madrid side with a lot of talent

came out and accused Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh of se*xually assaulting

his friend.

The Daily Caller is reporting that according to interview transcripts released by the Senate

Judiciary Committee, this came about after the man called Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse's

office last week and claimed that Kavanaugh and Mark Judge who was a close high school

friend of Kavanaugh, drunkenly s*exually assaulted one of his friends.

The committee investigator then proceeded to ask Judge Kavanaugh about the allegation

during a closed-door interview on Tuesday.

The judge denied the allegation.

The man's name was withheld from public transcripts but the investigator quoted several

outrageous anti-Trump tweets which came from the man's Twitter account.

This allowed reporters to identify him as "Jeffrey Catalan."

Do everyone who is going crazy about what | had said I have recanted because I have

made a mistake and apologize for such mistake

Dear Pentagon, Please save my country from the parasite that occupies the White house?

Our you waiting until Russians parachute in like in Red Dawn ? Please help!

His last tweet before he deleted his Twitter account read, "Do [sic] everyone who is

going crazy about what I had said I have recanted because I have made a mistake and apologize

for such mistake."

But this was not enough to get Chuck Grassley to not order an investigation.

today referred potential false statements alleging misconduct by Judge Kavanaugh to

federal law enforcement for criminal investigation after accuser recanted.

Here is the entire letter: September 29, 2018

VIA ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION The Honorable Jeff Sessions

Attorney General U.S. Department of Justice

950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20530

The Honorable Christopher A. Wray Director

Federal Bureau of Investigation 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

Washington, DC 20535 Dear Attorney General Sessions and Director

Wray: As you know, the Senate Judiciary Committee

recently processed the nomination of Judge Brett

M. Kavanaugh to serve as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court.

As part of that process, the Committee has been investigating various allegations

made against Judge Kavanaugh.

The Committee's investigation has involved communicating with

numerous individuals claiming to have relevant information.

While many of those individuals have acted in good faith in providing the Committee

information during the investigation, unfortunately it appears some have not.

As explained below, I write today respectfully referring Mr. for

investigation of potential violations of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1001 and 1505, for materially

false statements Mr. made to the Committee as part of

its investigation of allegations against Judge Kavanaugh.

According to Senator Whitehouse and his Committee staff, on the morning of September 24,

2018, Mr. contacted the Senator's office to report an allegation of se*xual misconduct

by Judge Kavanaugh.

Mr. claimed that in August of 1985, Judge Kavanaugh se*xually assaulted a close

acquaintance of Mr. on a boat in the harbor at Newport, Rhode Island.

Committee staff took Mr. 's allegation seriously, and asked Judge

Kavanaugh numerous questions about it under penalty of felony during an interview on September

25, 2018.

He categorically denied the allegation.

On September 26, 2018, the Committee publicly released a redacted transcript of that interview,

with Mr. 's name redacted.

Afterwards, at 7:51 pm that same evening, Mr. "recanted" and

apologized for his allegation via social media.

I have enclosed the relevant materials documenting these

facts.

Committee investigations in support of the judicial nomination process are an essential

part of the Committee's constitutional role.

The Committee is grateful to citizens who come forward with

relevant information in good faith, even if they are not one hundred percent sure about

what they know.

But when individuals provide fabricated allegations to the Committee, diverting Committee resources

Attorney General Sessions and Director Wray during time-sensitive investigations, it materially

impedes our work.

Such acts are not only unfair; they are potentially illegal.

It is illegal to make materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statements to

Congressional investigators.

It is illegal to obstruct Committee investigations.

Accordingly, in light of the seriousness of these facts, and the threat these types of

actions pose to the Committee's ability to perform its

constitutional duties, I hope you will give this referral the utmost consideration.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Roosters chasing Test star for 2019 - Blog news - Duration: 4:30.

The Sydney Roosters aren't resting on their laurels after Sunday's premiership triumph and are poised to launch an all-out bid to sign Manly's Kiwi international prop Marty Taupau for next season

The club continually distanced itself from rumours that it was keen on the rugged enforcer during the season

But now that the year is over and the premiership won, I'm hearing the Roosters will open talks with Taupau's management

The tough prop is desperate to get out of his deal with Manly and if the Roosters come up with the right offer, a deal could be done

WWOS has heard that the Roosters are prepared to offload Queensland State of Origin prop Dylan Napa to get their hands on Taupau

Napa is a weapon on his day but the Roosters believe Taupau would give them more fire power

The four Burgess brothers are set to be re-united in Sydney next season.Luke - the eldest of the four - announced his retirement in Britain last week at the age of 31

But he did so on a high note despite a nagging knee injury, helping Salford retain its spot in Super League

While not as dynamic as brothers Tom, George and Sam, Luke carved out a fine career in his own right - an honest battler who played nearly 200 games in both England and Australia

I'm hearing he is moving to Sydney with his young family and may even get a job with the Rabbitohs in an off-field capacity

FOR the first time in rugby league history, match officials are taking industrial action against the game's ruling body

Tired of being treated as second class citizens by refs bosses, the match officials are set to boycott an end of season review at Gerringong

It's a massive step by the refs and touch judges, who are after more pay and a better work environment in 2019

The refs are fuming with their bosses, Bernard Sutton and Tony Archer, claiming they are not promoting a positive work atmosphere

Most of the match officials have signed an industrial action document taking on the NRL

Three of the four officials for the grand final did NOT sign the document, however, and the refs claim the apppointments were not made on merit

Former Rabbitohs halfback Willie Peters is poised to replace David Furner as assistant coach of the Rabbitohs next season

Furner's impending move to Leeds saw a host of applicants flood the club but Peters, who has been working for Souths in a development role, is the man to take over

Peters was on Manly's staff until a couple of years ago, when he was the victim of an infamous bullying incident involving a fellow staffer that ended in fisticuffs at the team's end of the season drinks
