Mixed Media Altered wooden shoes #OldTreasuresHop challenge - Duration: 19:23.
Hi I'm Gerry from Gerry's Craft Room and in this video I am going to alter some
wooden shoes I have decorated these I think over
30 years ago when this kind of dotted painting
was super hot I gave them a coat of gesso
I start with some sand texture paste that I apply to my wooden shoes
by the way I added the products I used in the description box for you and
if you are new here don't forget to subscribe
now I apply crackle paint I do this randomly a bit thicker here and there
the thicker the layer the bigger the crackles will get
while it's still wet I sprinkle on some seed beads and micro beads
and I'm going to let it dry
after drying I gave it a coat of gesso I am going to add some more texture with tissue
paper over here we call it silk paper I tear a strip of and crunch it up
and then I am going to glue it with gel medium
I am going to add some stars also with gel medium I gave them a coat of gesso because it's
easier before you glue it down and then I let it all dry
everything is dry and now I'm going to add some colour with Lindy's sprays
I first spray the bottom
I am going to spray the colours and keep adding
colour blending it a bit and dry in between
by adding the colour layers you get a deep colour and lots of colour difference
this way the texture will be more visible
I spray some of the white and then I add colour again with the tube
so the white pops a bit more
I didn't wear any gloves because they are so much harder to work with
but I think I would the next time
the colours are so deep and intense and they stick very well on skin too
Now I'm making some flowers I die cut a bunch
and I spray them with the teal and then with water
this way you get a colour difference which will look great on the end result
once the flowers are shaped dried and assembled I spray some of the white
to get some soft colour spots and dry them again
now I add some metallic gilding paste to bring out the texture even more
I also coloured the big one in the same way and I am going to add the flowers
I added some cord to the back of the shoes and let them dry overnight
and I added hearts to the flowers I am going to add some silver thread around
the flowers as a playful detail
