Youtube daily report Dec 20 2017

Hey, what's up?

John Sonmez here from simpleprogrammer.com.

Today I'm going to answer a question: Is C++ really that bad?

I deserve it.

I know.

I know.

The name of this question asker is C++ Master.

I think that's on his birth certificate, The C++ Master.

He says, "Why do you say so many bad things about C++?

IT is the 3rd most used programming language and the 10th most paid.

Other than that, it is a pretty neat language that hasn't started stagnating and will probably

grow."

Then he's got additional info, "C++ Forever."

Why do I get such a bad rep on this?

Why do I give C++ such a bad rep?

I've done some videos on how to learn C++ which was a trick video.

You could check out the video where I talk about you shouldn't learn C++ and people get

upset about this.

People send me this stuff.

C++ Master sends me stuff as I'm hating on C++.

I've got to tell you, I have a love-hate relationship with C++.

I was a big C++ person for a long time.

I did Topcoder.

You can check out my career development story, my personal career story.

I loved it.

I still love the language.

It is very complex and elegant yet clunky and beautiful language at the same time, there's

so many—so many contradictions in the language.

Some of my best time that I ever had in my career coding was doing C++.

I see the beauty.

I see the art in it.

But when I'm advising people on this channel, I'm not advising them to follow their dreams

and follow their passions and to do things for the sake of making them harder on themselves.

I am giving them pragmatic and practical advice.

The reason why I "hate" on C++ so much on this channel has nothing to do with whether

I think it's a good language.

I think it's a great language.

I think it is evolving.

I think it's this superior language in many, many ways.

I think it is a valuable language and a lot of people are making a lot of money from it.

It is a very popular programming language and it will get to exist and be popular for

a long time.

I believe that, truly.

But, if you're asking me, if you're coming to this channel and you're like, "John, I

want to get started as a software developer.

How do I get started out?"

I'm not going to give you C++—I'm not going to say that that's the best way.

If you really want to go down that road, sure, go down it.

Fine.

It's great.

It's awesome.

You'll definitely have a good career and you'll be a master like C++ Master.

It's good.

You'll know more about programming than probably a lot of other people that deal with less

complex programming languages.

It's already hard enough to become a software developer today.

I wrote a book on the subject called The Complete Software Developer's Career Guide because

I felt like it was so hard.

You can check it out if you're interested, but I felt like it was so hard to become a

software developer because there is so much information, there's so much stuff out there.

So, how do we reduce this down?

How do we make this simple?

That's the whole reason why—like I said, I'm not hating on C++.

It's just a matter of a fact that the easier way, the path of least resistance, the most

practical and pragmatic way to become a developer is probably not to go down the C++ road.

Now, there are some reasons why you might do that, which is fine, but in general if

you're like, "John, I just want to become a software developer and want to get started,"

I want to start you on something easier.

I want to start you on something like Python, something that's going to be simpler and easier

so that you're not going to be as frustrated and that you're going to be able to—and

you could be just as effective in most of those languages as you could be in C++.

There are places where C++ is definitely better.

There are places where Rust is better.

In general, for a lot of the development that's being done today, the web development, mobile

development, an easier language is going to be—is going to serve you just as well.

To give you an honest question again, I appreciate a lot of you that are C++ gurus, I used to

be among your rank and I respect the dedication and the work.

It is a difficult—you—a lot of C++ developers are some of the best developers, of course,

because it's difficult, but I'm not going to recommend it.

I'm just not going to recommend it to beginners, because even though, you know, sometimes we

can be like these battle-scarred veterans and we can want to make the new recruits go

through the same tough training and regimen that we did, but that's not always the most

effective thing.

It doesn't make sense.

I'm going to do what makes sense on this channel.

There you go.

Good question though.

Thanks for the question.

Take care.

Should Christians celebrate Christmas? - Duration: 3:09.

(music)

- When people ask whether or not we should celebrate

Christmas, a lot of times, what is behind the question,

is the history, that indeed, that began

as a midwinter festival, Saturnalia,

and the early Church, sort of co-opted that.

We don't believe that Jesus was born on December the 25th.

No reputable scholars of which I'm aware

would argue that, that's when he was born,

but, you know, something is not wrong merely

because it had bad origins.

The days of our week, I mean, if we really believed that,

you couldn't drive a Saturn,

and you wouldn't call Thursday, Thursday,

because those are the names of Pagan deities.

We know that, that's how it began.

We know that's what it meant,

but it's not what it means to us.

It's not the way that we use it.

So when we celebrate Christmas,

we're not embracing everything it ever was

or its origins, but the celebration of Christmas

is an opportunity for the Gospel,

because our culture observes Christmas.

This has been embedded in Western Civilization,

and so while we don't celebrate it as though the Scripture

mandated it, we do use it as an opportunity

to talk about that Christmas is about more than just a baby.

And Jesus was not merely a baby in a manger.

He was the God incarnate, that he came to earth

and that he was born of a virgin,

that he lived a sinless life in order to die

for the sins of his people.

That Christmas is about the promised fulfillment

of the coming Messiah.

And so that's what we celebrate.

We celebrate everyday that Jesus has come,

but because our culture gives us an opportunity

to talk about these things, we should take advantage of it.

You may not want to have certain

of the decorations of Christmas.

There might be certain aspects of the commercialization

of Christmas that you don't like,

but take advantage of what the culture does

because you can use it as a gospel opportunity

to witness and to tell people what the real meaning is,

that God has come in the flesh to save His people

from their sins, and that is a glorious message.

Chinese Street Food - ENTIRE BOWL ONE-NOODLE and Halal Beef Salad! | Yunnan, China Day 2 - Duration: 29:34.

- [Mark] That has to be one of the coolest bowls of noodles

that I've ever seen being made, ever.

(upbeat music)

This entire bowl, is all just one noodle.

That is one single noodle.

(upbeat music)

Good morning, I hope you're having an amazing day,

it's Mark Wiens.

We just arrived to Weishan,

which is in Dali in Yunnan Province, China.

And today is gonna be another incredible day,

but a very diverse day of food in Yunnan.

We're starting here in the village,

we're gonna enjoy a few bowls of noodles.

And then after that we'll be visiting an authentic

very well preserved Muslim village.

But first, oh I think we've just arrived.

This is the spot for breakfast.

Breakfast bowl of noodles number one.

Hello!

We're gonna try to get a look into the kitchen,

where they are assembling the bowls of noodles.

And as soon as you step in here,

this is, this is a meat sauna.

You can smell the, these are pork noodles.

And you can smell the porky aromas back here.

This is a special type of rice noodle that is

common in this part of Yunnan.

But it's rare to find elsewhere,

and it's a rice noodle that they make with,

it's not with raw rice powder, but it's made with

pre-cooked, rice that's cooked, and then ground,

and then made into noodles.

It comes with two components,

one is the bowl of noodles, with soup.

And the other is the bowl of pork

with all the seasonings, spices.

So what you do is you take some of the noodles

and you dip them into the soup

with the pork and all the spices

before you eat it.

And then it comes with some pickles, there's some peanuts,

there's some just wonderful looking things.

The soup is a pork bone soup,

you can see how it's almost milky in color,

how it's been boiled for so long.

I just have to taste the plain soup first.

Mmm, mmm.

Really, really rich.

A little bit, not too oily.

And it's not salty yet.

And then this is the soup that's full of flavor.

You can see the pork, there's skin,

oh, look at that.

Oh, it's like pulled pork and then just a chunk of skin,

and then she added in a few scoops,

she asked me if I wanted it spicy,

which, of course I had to say yes.

So look at that soup, it's just,

oh there's chili oil in there, it's,

okay, lemme just taste this.

There's sesame seeds in there as well.

Oh, oh that is superb.

It's not sweet at all, it's just

you can really taste the sesame seeds in there.

That has a nice chili burn to it,

and then it's porky.

Okay, into the soup.

I mix it in with some of that pork.

Oh that looks incredible.

Oh, that is sensational.

It's really nice and spicy.

The sesame seed oil flavor in there really stands out.

And then the pork is just,

just fall apart like shredded tender.

The noodles are very nice and soft.

They're not like mushy,

and they're just a tiny bit gummy in texture.

The noodles and the soup broth, are very plain on their own,

but all the flavor is coming in that pork,

and that seasoning, and all those spices in there.

And that is extraordinary flavor.

Okay, now I'm gonna try to fish out that piece of skin.

Oh, mmm.

Oh that just,

that literally just disintegrates in your mouth.

Oh you don't need to chew that.

It's just completely soft.

And it tastes like it's been boiled and rendered down

so it's mostly skin and like collagen I think.

Mmm. That one has a little bit of a sweet taste.

And peanuts.

But this broth, is next level.

(upbeat music)

Oh, what a way to start this morning.

And it's even better because

it's kind of cold and rainy outside.

That is, that hits the spot.

Most of the buildings in this ancient town of Weishan

date back to the 1400's.

And this was one of the strongholds

of the kingdom in Yunnan.

And it's so well preserved, it's so beautiful.

I love how it's quiet, and it's so charming.

So we're just gonna walk around for a little bit,

and then after that we're gonna eat another bowl of noodles.

(upbeat music)

Okay, we're just stopping at a street food stall here.

- Yeah, this is like Dali's specialty,

so this is basically the rice cake's same texture

with the rice noodle we just had.

- [Mark] It's like a sheet of the noodles that we just,

okay hold on for this.

(engine starting)

What's the name of it again?

(speaking foreign language)

- And then the noodle is

(speaking foreign language)

- [Mark] Ah, okay.

(speaking foreign language)

- Means strips

(speaking foreign language)

- Means something bigger.

- [Mark] Alright.

(speaking foreign language)

- [Mark] Oh she puts that inside of it?

- [Female] Yeah, yeah.

- [Mark] Oh wow.

- [Female] Something extra.

(speaking foreign language)

[Mark] Yep.

Oh yeah but we'll try it here.

(speaking foreign language)

- [Mark] Kind of like burrito style.

Yeah this looks and smells fantastic.

Mmm.

(laughs)

Oh, oh that is very very tasty.

Kind of dense, because you've got that rice,

that rice tortilla.

And then you've got the crispy fluffy donut on the inside,

but you've got all that flavoring.

The chili sauce, the pickles go in there very nicely.

The peanuts.

Okay.

And this is a snack we can eat while walking around I think.

(speaking foreign language)

- That was great walking around the old town

and we are walking down an alley now

to go eat our next bowl of noodles.

Oh so this is the one noodle here.

(upbeat music)

Wow, that's amazing.

And we're here to eat what is called One Noodle,

because it really is one strand of noodle.

(speaking foreign language)

- [Female] This is things you put on top of the noodle soup

in the end.

(upbeat music)

(speaking foreign language)

(laughs)

- [Female] Yeah, you forget every time.

(laughs)

- [Mark] That has to be one of the coolest bowls of noodles

that I have ever seen being made, ever.

It's just, it's just a beautiful work of art

how she prepares that bowl of noodles.

And it really, in your bowl, you have one single noodle.

And from what Lucy was telling me about

this particular restaurant, this is the original place

to eat this One Noodle.

And they won the World Record,

the China record for the longest noodle in all of China.

I think they had a noodle competition,

oh yeah you can see on the walls,

some of the photos that they have on display.

They made a noodle that was a couple kilometers in length.

So they can make, you get one noodle here,

that's all you eat is one noodle.

In order to eat this bowl of noodles you have to

eat it all in one bite.

No, I'm just joking.

(laughs)

You can break the noodle,

it's acceptable to break the noodle.

But look at that, it's just coiled around

a million times, that's all just a single blob.

This entire bowl, is all just one noodle.

That is one single noodle.

I guess I definitely have to try the one noodle first.

(chuckling)

Mmm. Oh.

Not only is it one noodle, but that one noodle is amazing.

It's gummy, it's not overcooked,

it's a little bit al dente.

It is like a perfect thickness.

Mmm, and that's like chili oil soup,

you can taste the schezwan pepper in there.

And then this is some kind of garlic and water.

Oh, excellent.

Okay, I think that's good for my seasoning.

I forgot a little bit of vinegar in there.

That's a really good noodle.

Now lemme taste some of that broth.

On the top is kind of some chili oil.

But the it is a, kind of a meaty,

kind of a thick broth.

Mmm, mmm.

Oh with that garlic in there,

I love that garlic in there.

That fresh garlic.

Oh that adds such a little thing that adds so much.

The most impressive thing about that bowl of noodle

was watching her make it and bowl the noodle.

That was, that was a sight to see.

We're just exiting out the old gate.

That was, it's a really nice place that you can visit.

And I'm pretty full of noodles right now.

From here we are driving to a well-preserved

traditional Muslim village.

And they are known for their food as well,

so we're gonna discover and eat some more delicious food

and just walk around that village next.

(upbeat music)

We have just arrived to Donglianhua,

and in Chinese that translates to:

the Eastern lotus pond village.

And so you come into this village, its absolutely beautiful.

At the entrance, there is a lotus pond.

And then it's surrounded by rice fields.

It's an ancient Muslim village.

And from what Lucy was telling me,

it's not a touristy village at all,

so there's not like souvenir shops.

It's not like an attraction village.

But it's one of the most well-preserved

Muslim villages in this entire area.

And so we're gonna have a chance to eat,

and then we're gonna have a chance

just to walk around and see.

There's also some very well-preserved mosques as well.

(horn honks)

We are on our way to go to one of the courtyards

where there is a lady who, she has a courtyard,

she has a house, she has restaurant, she cooks.

It's gonna be some delicious food.

Look at this grand entrance, this gate.

And the decoration, the painting.

And step inside of here.

There's paintings, there's artwork, it's so quiet,

it's so peaceful, and this is where we're gonna eat lunch.

Something that's very interesting to me,

because my wife is Thai and we're based in Bangkok,

we're based in Thailand.

Is that the family who owns this property,

and this courtyard, she was just explaining to us

that their family had to flee to Thailand

and so they lived in Chiang Mai for many years.

And so they have roots both here in Yunnan,

and Chiang Mai as well in Thailand.

(speaking foreign language)

- [Mark] We're in the kitchen now,

and she's gonna be making a couple of different dishes.

The first thing that she's making is

a Muslim Yunnanese style noodle.

And the important ingredients that she mentioned

are especially the green pumpkin, as well as potato.

And now she just finished chopping up some cured goose,

which she got out of the freezer,

and that's gonna also flavor the noodles.

And she's gonna, we'll see what else she makes.

(meat sizzling)

(speaking foreign language)

- [Female] That's the ginger.

- [Mark] The beef, beef and ginger?

- [Female] Yeah.

(meat sizzling)

- [Mark] This one is still for the noodles?

- [Female] Yeah, yeah.

(meat sizzling)

- [Mark] She added quite a generous

amount of oil to the wok,

and then she added in some of the beef

which is already cut into little pieces.

And then she added in a bunch of onions,

and then in goes the tomatoes.

But wow, that aroma is already smelling incredible.

(speaking foreign language)

- [Mark] All the ingredients that she cooked

are for the soup of the noodles,

but now she's actually making the noodles from scratch

with flour and mixing in some water,

and just slightly kneading it and massaging it.

(speaking foreign language)

- [Mark] It's a lot of effort,

and it's a lot of work, but I can guarantee you

that the result is gonna be more than impressive.

(speaking foreign language)

- [Mark] The dough is resting and rising.

She's gonna get started on a beef salad that she's making.

(speaking foreign language)

- [Mark] She has already precooked the beef,

because the beef takes, it actually takes days to prepare.

But she's showed us some of the raw beef.

She massages it in salt,

and then let's that rest for two days.

And then the beef is braised in a broth

and liquid that contains many different spices.

There's black cardamom, and there's schezwan peppers,

there's dry chili, there's caramel,

which is what makes the broth really dark.

And then that's braised for a few hours at least.

I actually had no clue as to how she was gonna

assemble a salad, but she is just spiraling it.

Like spokes on a wheel.

Oh, that's gorgeous.

(speaking foreign language)

- [Mark] She's just hand ripping them

into the boiling water.

Oh I love this style of noodle.

And just like, rough homestyle noodles.

(upbeat music)

The noodles back in.

(speaking foreign language)

(upbeat music)

(speaking foreign language)

- It keeps getting more and more complex,

she keeps adding things.

She had a separate pan of the soup broth,

which is beef bones broth she then boiled.

And then she drained the water out of the noodles

and put the noodles back into the beef broth.

Then she added the goose, cured goose fat.

And goose, then she, oh and she's dishing it out.

Then she added the pumpkin mixture,

she added the onions beef mixture,

and it is ready.

Wow, that looks hearty.

(speaking foreign language)

(upbeat music)

(speaking foreign language)

- I'm walking out of the kitchen just amazed,

just flabbergasted.

What a meal, she is a master chef.

Okay, so we're in the courtyard,

we're sitting down for lunch now.

This is a picture perfect setting, it's gorgeous.

The courtyard, the scenery, and her cooking on top of that.

I am like overwhelmed right here.

The food looks unbelievable.

The beef salad is not only one of the prettiest

beef salads I've ever seen in my life,

it might be one of the prettiest dishes

I've ever seen in my life.

On the bottom you will see it's all shredded radish

as well as more of that same dressing.

And it's just, it's just filled.

So I think you can kind of get

a little bit of everything with that beef.

Oh, wow.

That is sensational.

Oh, that's stunning.

Mmm.

Oh that beef is so tender.

And the flavor is just embedded

within the veins of that beef.

And it's, oh that's extreme flavor.

And then you've got that really crisp,

really refreshing radish shreds on the bottom there.

You've got that dressing, you can taste all that chili oil.

You can really taste the sesame oil,

and the sesame seeds in there.

And next up for the noodles,

which she made completely from scratch, by hand.

Sheets of noodles, there's onion in here.

Oh man, this looks, it doesn't get fresher than this.

Mmm.

Oh, oh wow that's stunning.

Those noodles are so silky smooth.

They're not like delicate, like thin noodles,

these are hearty, slightly thick,

a little bit gummy.

But you can taste the difference in how they're handmade.

It's absolutely stunning.

Unbelievable.

That is one of those dishes that will change your life.

The final dish we got here is pumpkin, steamed pumpkin.

And she made this with some ginger,

and this just looks delicious as well.

Oh, even the pumpkin's outstanding.

It's like melt in your mouth.

Oh, that texture.

It's really really fragrant.

It's a little bit sweet.

It's, mmm, it's not starchy at all, but more silky.

(speaking foreign language)

(laughs)

(upbeat music)

- [Mark] This is one of those dishes

that I never want to end.

I just want it to be an everlasting dish.

It's absolutely insane.

(upbeat music)

(sighs)

- Every single bite of this salad, has just blown me away.

(upbeat music)

(speaking foreign language)

- Okay.

I had no idea what to expect

when we first entered this gate,

but now I can safely say that you will find

one of the world's greatest beef salads behind this door.

And those are really recipes

and dishes that have been preserved through her family

and they're really hard to find.

She made it with love.

That was an honor to have such

a culinary experience like that.

Chickens for sale.

(chickens clucking)

(speaking foreign language)

(upbeat music)

- [Mark] We've just arrived to the village mosque,

and it's an extremely well-preserved wooden mosque.

Which dates back to the Ch'ing Dynasty,

sometime around the 1700's.

And up here there's a school.

Wow, this is gorgeous architecture.

A few flights of steps and we made it to the very top.

Wow, the views are spectacular.

And you can see over the entire

courtyard of the mosque on this side,

and then over here on this side,

you've got a nice view of the valley,

and the mountains in the background.

And rice fields outside of the village.

(upbeat music)

(speaking foreign language)

- We're in Dali new town here.

And we're at a restaurant tonight,

to eat an ethnic Chinese type of food

which is Jingpo food.

(speaking foreign language)

- [Mark] There's just a rainbow full of ingredients

that's so many ingredients on the table, and seasonings.

I saw some grasshoppers that we're gonna

try as well for dinner tonight.

All of the dishes are ready.

We've got a little bit of a feast here for dinner tonight.

There's so many dishes on the table,

I think we have at least 10 different dishes.

It's really interesting for me in watching them cook.

This food, the Jingpo food,

it comes from the region of China which is near

to the border of Myanmar.

And that's sort of the area where China,

as well as Myanmar, and Thailand, and Laos,

that area where the cultures all come together.

And that's the, so the food you can see

many similarities of ingredients.

It's colorful, there's chilies,

there's lots of fresh herbs.

And just a colorful spectrum of different dishes.

Since the grasshoppers happen to be right in front of me,

I'm gonna begin with the grasshoppers.

She deep fried them,

and then just seasoned them with

a little bit of powdery seasoning.

So these should be crispy and beautiful.

Oh, look at how golden they are.

Oh yeah, those are good.

They have a little bit of a sausagey flavor,

and nice and crispy.

A wonderful snack.

Next up I'm gonna try some of the chicken salad.

This is one of their signature dishes.

It's shredded chicken,

and then she mixed it with minced chili.

There's some herbs in there,

and there's some chilies on the side too.

You can taste a little bit of the chilies in there.

Oh, oh, that chili's pretty sweet, and a little bit spicy.

Okay, over here is one of their signature dishes,

which is fried ribs, with lemongrass.

And I love how rough cut it is,

just like a stack of lemongrass on the top of this dish.

Mmm hmm.

Oh those are awesomely good.

The pork is nice and crispy from being deep fried.

This one is a minced pork salad,

and again it's very finely chopped

with lots of herbs in there.

There are peanuts in here, and chilies.

And this looks very very Thai or Burmese.

- [Female] White celery.

- [Mark] Oh, it's white celery in there too.

Mmm.

Oh that one is, that one is awesome.

It's extremely refreshing.

To me it almost tastes like Tabbouleh,

like parsley that's been chopped up like that.

This one is ferns and I think she just blanched the ferns,

and then it's served with this sauce.

This sauce looks fantastic.

Mmm. Oh that sauce is wonderful.

And it's a yellow pea paste kind of like block,

and then she kind of mixed it up with some spices as well.

There's some chilies, and there's both

fresh chilies and dried chilies in there.

Mmm. Oh.

You know that's not the most attractive looking dish,

but it's really tasty.

It has this incredible smokey flavor,

and then it's a little bit starchy,

a little bit goopy, but the flavor's amazing.

This one is an omelet that he made with

climbing wattle shoots.

And this is very popular in Thailand as well.

Mmm. Okay, it's a little bit of an oil sponge.

But it is pretty tasty.

The climbing wattle has a nice like

kind of green taste to it.

I think the last dish is the banana blossom salad, or mix.

Mmm. Oh that's really good, it's really really juicy.

(speaking foreign language)

(laughs)

- [Mark] It almost has a cheesy taste to it.

(upbeat music)

(laughs)

Okay, we just made it back to the hotel.

Definitely the highlight for me today though,

was that Muslim Yunnanese beef salad that aunty made.

That was one of the dishes that I'll never forget, ever.

I wanna say a big thank you to Lucy,

she was our guide today and she brought us everywhere.

And also to Frank from Zouba Tours

for organizing everything, he set everything up.

And big thank you to you for watching this

Chinese food tour of Yunnan video.

Please remember to give it a thumbs up if you enjoyed it.

The Dark Stories Behind Classic Nursery Rhymes - Duration: 3:56.

Growing up, you were probably taught all sorts of nursery rhymes and recited them happily,

oblivious to the fact that many of them have darker meanings than we could have ever imagined.

We're here to shed some darkness on the happy sing-songs of your childhood.

Baa, Baa, Black Sheep

Shocking as it may be, Baa, Baa, Black Sheep was not actually about a talking black sheep

that offered up its wool to a master, a dame, and a little boy who lives down the lane.

As with most nursery rhymes, many theories have been offered up about the meaning.

One of the more popular ones, according to Historic UK, is that it's about the heavy

taxation on wool in 13th-century Britain.

Supposedly, the "master" represented King Edward the 1st, the "dame" was the church,

and the "little boy" referred to all the shepherds who took care of the sheep.

Sadly, it seems as if the shepherds got a raw deal: in the original version, "the little

boy" didn't get any wool.

Humpty Dumpty

Many children can recite the nursery rhyme about Humpty Dumpty and his tragic misadventures

on a wall.

Glossing over the fact that this rhyme is basically about the accidental passing of

an egg-person, its origins might prove interesting.

According to Ancient Origins, "Humpty Dumpty" could have been a nickname for rotund people

in the 15th century, or it could have been a cannon used by the army of King Charles

the 1st in the English Civil War.

According to lore, the cannon was placed on top of the wall of a church until it was brought

down by enemy cannons, causing it to have a "great fall."

Apparently, the fall left it beyond repair, seeing how none of the King's men — or horses

— could fix it.

Rub-a-dub-dub

That old poem about a butcher, a baker, and a candlestick maker may not have been about

exploring career choices and then going to a fair after all.

In fact, according to London librarian Chris Roberts, some of the earliest versions of

Rub-a-dub-dub claims that there were three maids in a tub, instead of the three men.

The butcher, baker, and candlestick maker are still present, but it can be deduced that

they're intently watching whatever's going on in the tub between the three young ladies.

Take that as you will.

Oranges and Lemons

London's famous poem Oranges and Lemons is a rhyme that features the tolling of many

church bells across London, with many different interpretations and meanings.

In an article for the BBC, composer Benjamin Till explored whether or not someone's decapitation

helped inspire it.

One of the popular theories claims that the poem is full of references that include Henry

the 8th's marital problems, some torture devices used in the Tower of London, and even the

execution of prisoners at Newgate Prison.

For a poem concerning bells and produce, it sure does have some fairly disturbing origins.

Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater

A read of Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater might lead you to believe that this Peter fellow

was kind of a jerk who remarried and then became literate.

According to Treasury Islands, one of the origins of this strange tale involves Peter

being unable to act as a good husband and treating his first wife poorly.

Peter had a more domineering personality and kept his wife stuck in their home, where he

could exercise his control over her.

The wife must have gotten sick of his treatment, because he eventually remarried and became

more civilized after some time.

At least this rhyme sort of prepares kids for the complexities of adult relationships.

Lucy Locket

On the surface, the old English nursery rhyme Lucy Locket seems to be an innocent tale about

a girl named Lucy who loses her purse and a girl named Kitty who finds it.

In truth, it's about a famous courtesan named Kitty Fisher, who supposedly stole away the

lover of a woman named Lucy Locket.

According to Persephone Magazine, Kitty Fisher was a very charismatic woman who liked the

finer things in life, and became a courtesan to live it up with the wealthy folks.

Lucy Locket was a fan of hers, but that quickly turned when her poor lover left her and found

solace in Miss Kitty's arms.

A nineteenth century poem that was basically an early version of The Maury Show?

You better believe it.

Important decision made in Liverpool move to sign South American attacker ● News Now transfer ● #LFC - Duration: 1:50.

Liverpool have received an important update regarding their attempt to add another Brazilian

to their squad in Gremio star Luan.

Luan is one of Brazil's highly-rated prospects who are still plying their trade in their

home country and he has been nicknamed 'the new Ronaldinho' for his skill set.

Luan was named in Brazil's provisional squad for Copa América Centenario but was cut from

the final squad.

Later in the season, he was selected as a member of Brazil's squad for the 2016 Summer

Olympics.

The Gremio ace was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool last summer with reports claiming

at the time that the Reds had tabled a bid for his signature.

However, reporting that the forward is no longer keen on making a move to Europe just

yet following a failed transfer to Spartak Moscow last season.

According to the 24-year-old, the time might not be right for him to move abroad and he

would rather wait for the ideal moment.

His decision will come as a disappointment for Liverpool who look certain to lose Philippe

Coutinho to Barcelona next summer.

Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in Luan as they look for a replacement for

the outgoing Mesut Ozil.

Luan scored in the quarter-final, semifinal and converted his spot-kick in the final as

Brazil won their first Olympic goal medal in Rio

in 2016.

Everysight Raptor | GCN's First Look - Duration: 7:30.

- What do cyclists have in common with fighter pilots?

Well not too much, maybe ninja-like reflexes?

(laughing)

Well maybe some of us at least,

but probably, we don't have much more in common.

But actually now, we might be able

to add something else: heads up display,

i.e., your essential data in your field of vision,

because Everysight have invited us to take a first look

at their brand new Raptor augmented reality glasses.

(urban music)

I know what you're thinking, this has been done before,

and yes there are other smart glasses

out there on the market that cater for us as cyclists.

But with the Raptors there are a few very key differences.

With these, the display is completely integrated,

i.e., it's not an add-on.

So inside these glasses is a mini-projector with an LED.

And it's not just any LED; no, it's an organic one.

Now I don't know exactly what that means,

but what I do know is that organic LEDs

are used in posh televisions and monitors,

and they also use less battery life,

which means that you can use these

for up to eight hours of riding.

Everysight are calling this "Beam" technology and it is that

which puts your chosen information and data fields

directly into your field of vision.

Now, before you start thinking

this is just another novelty company

that will disappear quickly, let me tell you,

these Raptors have been 15 years in development,

and Everysight is a spin-off of

a company called Elbit Systems;

they provide the vast majority

of the world's fighter pilots with their heads up displays.

So, they kind of know what they're doing.

(upbeat techno music)

So why would you want to use these?

Well despite the fact that they put information

into your field of vision, wearing these

means that you can simultaneously

keep your eye on the road in front of you

while still looking at some of your key stats.

In fact, if Chris Froome were to use these,

we would know once and for all

if he does constantly look at his power

or if he does indeed have a fetish for steps.

The display though, certainly isn't that distracting.

It's quite hard to describe to you

unless you use them yourself, but

in order to look at the display,

you just need a quick shift in your focus

and as soon as you shift your focus back to the road,

you really don't notice the display that much at all.

You might be thinking that Everysight Raptors

are only for data-driven people,

those that like to keep a constant eye

on their speed, power, heart rate, et cetera.

And they're great for those people,

with a whole load of different data fields possible

and lots of data screens which you can swipe through.

But these have got a lot more than just numbers.

Let me explain.

(upbeat techno music)

Inside these is an enormous amount of technology.

There is an Android operating system,

32 gigabytes of internal storage, 2 gigabites of RAM.

There's an accelerometer, a barometer, a magnetometer,

a gyroscope, and a proximity sensor and more.

And I've actually left out a very key one;

also inside here, is G-P-S.

That means that on the display, you can see the routes

that you should be taking, and that's a key point

for any of you who like to plot routes

or simply get from A to B in a place that you don't know;

all you've got to do is follow the line in front of you.

Just create the course online and send the GPX file

straight to these glasses.

And actually, there's more; also in these is a camera,

just here, and it doesn't get much more POV

than camera that sits directly between your eyes.

You can take photos or you can take video,

and actually the video is pretty good quality, HD in fact.

And if you've got the 32 gigabyte version of these,

you can record up to three hours of video footage

in a single ride.

(upbeat urban music)

To use the multitude of functions, you have three options.

First of all there is a touch sensor

here on the right arm, which you can swipe and tap.

And it's surprisingly intuitive

and you get used to it very quickly.

Secondly, you can use a remote control

on your handlebars, like so.

And lastly, for certain functions,

you can use voice activation.

- [Computer] Starting ride.

- Go, Everysight; record video.

(computer chimes)

And that voice activation means that

there is of course in these, a microphone.

And I can tell you, there's also

a speaker which can play music

and give you various bits of information.

And although not currently a function,

the combination of those two, you would presume

will eventually mean you can answer telephone calls.

And yes I know, loads of you get on the bike rides like this

to get away from all that stuff on your phone,

but on the odd occasion when your family's

desperately trying to get ahold of you,

you'll be able to answer that call safely

without taking your hands off the bars.

What you can already do, if you so wish,

is read the first line of any text

or WhatsApp messages that come through.

Another exciting function is that you can follow workouts;

so perfect for the fitness fanatics amongst you.

You will see what zone you should be in,

how close you are to being in the correct zone,

and also how long you have on each interval.

All you need to do is design your training session

on the Everysight app and send it over to the glasses.

And talking of the app, you could also use that

to customise various parts of the glasses.

So for example, where exactly the data sits

in your field of vision, and also how big or small

that display is.

And if at any point you just don't want to see

any of this information and data,

all you need to do is press a button on the remote control,

or the power button on the glasses, and it will disappear

whilst continuing to record your ride data.

(urban music)

So what have I missed out?

Well you can already auto-upload your rides

to Strava if you so wish, and I understand

integration with other apps is not too far off either.

And talking of Strava, although

you can't currently do live segments,

it also sounds like that is only

a matter of time away as well.

And it's actually the future possibilities of these glasses

which is the most exciting thing.

So I've been hearing rumblings about the possibility

of doing live Instagram and Facebook videos, for example.

And also, because it's an Android operating system,

third parties could develop their own apps

to sit on the Everysight platform,

giving you some different options

as to exactly what you are seeing.

And of course they're not just restricted

to us as cyclists, either; you could use these

if you are a runner, or indeed for a whole host

of other everyday activities.

All in all, they come in at just 95 grammes,

which admittedly, is a fair bit more than standard shades,

but when you consider what's inside these,

that really is mightily impressive.

Also, like with all modern technology,

the likelihood is that in the future

these are only going to get lighter and also slimmer.

Now whatever your own personal view

of augmented reality glasses is,

I've got a hunch that these are going to be

quite commonplace in the next few years.

Or am I wrong; I quite often am.

And you can let us know all your thoughts on them

in the comments section just down below.

Now if you haven't yet subscribed to GCN you can do so

right now by clicking on the globe on the screen.

Now we've got two videos which

you might well be interested in.

I had a similar experience. He added, I hope something like this doesnt happen again and that it will become an era where we can express freely and be free individuals while taking time for ourselves..

Justin Bieber is having the time of his life with Selena Gomez as they gear up for

Yet another trip outside of Los Angeles since

Reconciling in September the couple has been inseparable from one another and according to E

News as cited by Hollywood Life now that things are getting serious the two are doing a lot more traveling together

Justin bieber has reportedly planned a getaway trip with Gomez to New York City in order to celebrate New Year's Eve

later this month

Supposedly the trip had been planned for a while and since Justin Bieber and his girlfriend won't be together for Christmas

It only made sense that they finally get to spend the remaining days off in the Big Apple together

Back in November it was claimed that Justin Bieber had not been invited to celebrate

Thanksgiving at the home of Selena's family because they still weren't happy about the fact that the come and get at hit maker had

reconciled with her on-off boyfriend

Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez Fly to Seattle for Sweet Date | Seattle Trip on Private Jet - Duration: 2:18.

Hit the subscribe button and press the bell icon to get more take videos

Justin Bieber Selena Gomez flew to Seattle just for sweets a new story alleging Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

Flew to Seattle just to eat sweets of the sugary factory is nothing more than a fabrication

Gossip cop can correct this claim. We're told that's not true as

Recently reported on Saturday afternoon the couple traveled to Seattle for a mini break and over the course of the weekend

Bieber and Gomez were spotted spending time together at the Sugar Factory in Bellevue, Washington

While their visit to the Sugar Factory only made up a small segment of their weekend getaway

TMZ insinuates in its latest article that the pair flew to Seattle purely to indulge in sugary treats at the popular eatery

the website writes in its newest report Justin Bieber swept Selena Gomez off her feet and plied are full of sugar

The outlet goes on to quota sources telling the site

They spent some romantic one-on-one time in the chocolate lounge where they indulged in a frosty 60 ounces

drink called the ocean blue a virgin blend with two straws for sharing and

To conclude its story the website asserts Bieber and Gomez could have easily gone to the sugar factory in LA before

purporting that Bieber took the singer actress on a pretty baller date night the New York Post also picked up the article without

Fact-checking it first claiming that dates are always sweeter when there's candy involved

but gossip cop

Investigated the report and the assertion about a couple flying to Seattle just for a data the sugar factory is

Completely inaccurate a source close to the sorry singer tells us the tale is not true in reality

Bieber and Gomez took a two-day trip to see pastor Judah Smith one of Bieber's closest spiritual advisors

contrary to both outlet stories pastor Smith Sunday morning church

Service was the main reason for their trip Seattle not to indulge in sweet treats

Justin Bieber to Propose To Selena Gomez over Christmas - Duration: 2:59.

Hit the subscribe button and press the bell icon to get more take videos

Justin Bieber to propose to Selena Gomez over Christmas Justin Bieber is going to propose to Selena Gomez over Christmas

according to a suspicious report

Gossip cop looked into the story and we can now reveal what we've uncovered as

Gossip cop has reported Bieber and Gomez recently rekindled their romance

While there's conflicting claims on just how serious the renewed relationship is a so-called source

Supposedly tells rather in line friends expect Justin to pop the question over the holidays

Justin has been looking at rings and plans to ask her to marry him over Christmas

Unsurprisingly, there's a telling lack of details for instance. Just where is Bieber looking at rings

What kind of style is he eyeing how does he plan to propose and?

How will this take place over the holidays when it's already been confirmed Gomez will be with her family not Bieber on

Christmas the way Boyd is making a bold allegation

But has nothing substantial to back it up in fact it only points to something tangentially related

after TMZ reported early Tuesday that

Gomez's mom was taken to the hospital after mother and daughter allegedly had a fight about their

Relationship rather in line is now claiming that

Incident is adding to the marriage rumors could it be she already spilled the news of their engagement asks the site

But at the outlet has a real source as claimed above why is it asking open-ended questions?

Versus going to its contact to find out the answer the speculation also doesn't make much sense

If Bieber is secretly planning to propose later this month

Why would Gomez's mom already know about it and be arguing with her daughter about it before it occurs

Shamefully it seems the blog just wanted to exploit the reported

Hospitalization by connecting it to a possible engagement the online publication has a history of running

Distasteful and unsupported claims such as a story earlier this year

accusing Gomez of trying

To trap the weakened by getting pregnant and one last year alleging Bieber was friends with a convicted sex offender

With that reputation in mind whined with any legitimate source close to either star tell rather remind anything

Perhaps because this story is inauthentic is why there's a lack of key details

Meanwhile gossip cop has repeatedly been told that while beaver and Gomez are committed to giving their loved another shot they

Are at not at the marriage stage should the change in the near or distant future will have the accurate verified information?

Minimalist Bedroom Tour | Simple Master Bedroom - Duration: 3:39.

hey guys it's Danielle with Danielle at Minnesota vlogs and I'm gonna take you

on a bedroom tour a couple areas in my house are a disaster 90% of the time my

bedroom is not one of them I'm very strict about keeping it really clean and

all the surfaces clear my bedroom is my sanctuary I love it so much so I'm gonna

show you my minimal bedroom tour this is definitely not gonna be everyone's cup

of tea it's very simple and plain there there's no artwork up on the walls I

would like to change a few things I would like to change the wall color and

maybe add one piece of artwork but for the most part I'm really happy with it I

love it and here you go one of my favorite parts about this room is this

little vanity area and I got this chair from an old neighbor they gave me these

four chairs I kept one of them up here I love it it's so comfortable

I sometimes put my makeup on here what mainly work on you to play my day

journal here I even sit here and read sometimes and I keep that little candle

there and sometimes my laptop sits here such a fun area here is my one sad house

plant I really want to get better at house plans I also like to get a stand

for it but I'm proud it isn't dead yet and this is my bed I'm gonna show you

what that white square is I don't know if anyone's noticed that in other videos

that awkward white square but my bed spread is from Target I love it it came

with a couple more pillows but I didn't really like them so I gave him to

Goodwill so we bought this house from my mother-in-law my husband grew up in this

house my husband's name is Phillip and he wrote that on his parents wall when

he was four and she never painted over it and I feel like I can't now so I

haven't let me know if you have any tips on what to do the nightstands on either

side are from Ikea very low and very still

well and these lights are from Ikea I love this light it kind of matches the

bedspread so here are some books I'm reading and then here is our dresser I

keep most of my clothes in the closet I have a video on my capsule wardrobe so

those top drawers are kind of junk drawers what most people keep in their

dresser as you can see our dressers were very open just a few things on here it's

winter and it's cold so we need blankets when we go to sleep but I don't want to

keep them on the bed so I got this basket from Target and yeah I would like

maybe a piece of artwork for this wall but I haven't found anything and I'm the

type of person who kind of like to wait til I find something other than throwing

something up here is our view in the backyard through the screen our garden

or deck so that's everything I hope you liked it give this video a thumbs up and

please subscribe and I hope to see you in a future video bye guys

Angik Sarkar, Waylo, Phocuswright 2017 - Duration: 3:05.

(ambient music)

- So, I'm the founder and CEO of Waylo,

and we are the first hotel price prediction app.

So, the way I like to put it is:

if you would like to save 50% off your hotel, you would try.

So I'll like, give an example.

Let's say you're going to New York on 1st of December

and you're looking for hotels around Times Square,

there's a Hilton at Times Square,

it's $250 in every other app.

You might find it for $200 on Waylo, and the reason is,

that we predict that the price will drop to $200

at some point between today and 1st December.

So we take on the risks,

we allow you to buy for today at $200.

If it doesn't drop, we'll cover it.

As a company, we'll be successful if we start making money

in years five to seven, and that time, I believe,

it'll be more about this thing than this thing

we have today, so we started off

where we can see the future.

- So the Dragons liked your proposition,

they liked your presentation, they liked the fun element,

but they were also, they had a few tough questions.

They could see that maybe this could follow you very, very

quickly and how do you protect your first mover advantage?

- So I would say it takes time to first get the data,

gather the data, prepare the data, and then start making

predictions where it could actually stake your business

on it, and that's about a six month work, and in software,

you don't get more than that so basically have to run fast.

- I think your response was,

"Yes, we're gonna run faster than anyone else."

So tell me the reason you came here, why come to Phocuswright,

why choose this as a platform to present your product?

- I think this is the biggest platform there is,

at least in North America that I know of.

So this is one conference where you can walk up

to the biggest VPs or CEOs

of the biggest companies you know in the field,

so that was the biggest reason for us to present here.

It's a platform for any startup.

- And then tell me about the conversations

you've had since you've come off stage,

I've seen you speak to a lot of people.

Do people approach you or do meetings, how do you manage

the conference itself once you're not on stage presenting?

- So we got a lot of response, a lot of messages yesterday

were for meetings, so I have had meetings

the entire day today, and I have lots of meetings to do.

- Are they around the distribution side

or are they about the product or investment,

where is that conversation for you?

- So we are mostly looking for partnerships at this point,

and that's what we are focusing on, so that's the meetings

that I accepted first, so that's what we're getting big on:

partnerships with other businesses.

Not on distribution, but more on re-supplying them content.

- Last question, you chose the Slack as your next platform,

so messages, you're going from Messenger to Slack,

will you have a web platform?

- We don't plan on having a full web platform right now,

but that might change.

- Very interesting, and best of luck, thanks for your time.

- Thank you.

3 Simple Yet Powerful Steps To Train Your Mind To Make Something Happen - Duration: 2:33.

The new year is right around the corner so it's a great time to gear up to start making

the things that you've been wanting, happen.

Here's a 3 step technique that will boost your ability to do just that.

Step 1: Go get a journal and on the first piece of paper jot down your goals.

Writing down your goals can have a great psychological impact on you.

According to Dr. Gail Matthews, who teaches psychology at the Dominican University of

California, you are 42% more likely to achieve your goals if you have written them down!

Now, that doesn't mean that you should write it down once and store it away in a drawer

somewhere.

This is something that you should do nightly, give or take a night off here and there.

The more consistent you are, the better.

Step 2: Is that you on another piece of paper write affirmations in the present tense as

though you already had what you wanted.

So for example let's say you've really been wanting a job at a new particular place where

you kind of feel a little intimidated about it, you could write something like: I feel

comfortable and at ease at my new job.

I'm able to function at on optimal level and I feel that I'm part of the team.

I'm the right person for my new job.

Get it.

You're going to write things how you want them to be just in the present tense.

Step 3: Close your eyes and with all of your imagination, began to imagine yourself experiencing

what you want to happen.

So if you were the person in our example, you would imagine yourself being at the new

job feeling really good, being productive and efficient and fitting right in.

I would imagine a few different scenarios and even being in different office environments

because while we want to train your mind to see you as the person who is the great pick

for the the job, we also want to make sure that your mind stays flexible.

Realistically, we don't know how everything is going to play out

so the more flexible you are, the better.

Do these techniques on a regular consistent basis and you will find how your mind starts

opening up to the possibilities of you getting everything you want and need.

Not only that, but that it starts working with you to make those things happen.

Obedient Using the Scout Law in MTG - Duration: 2:30.

Welcome Young Mage, I'm Rhino.

I'm taking a break from my regular schedule to do something a bit different.

You may know that I am a scout.

In scouting there are 12 points in the scout law.

Each scout should try to live by these 12 points in everything they do.

So I'm taking 12 days to apply each point to Magic the Gathering.

This isn't what I think YOU should do, but more a statement of what I do.

Are you curious?

Hit that subscribe button so you don't miss a single one.

Day 7 Obedient

A Scout is obedient.

A Scout follows the rules of the family, school, and troop.

They obey the laws of the community and country.

If they think these rules and laws are unfair, they try to have them changed in an orderly

manner rather than disobeying them.

To the best of my ability I will obey the rules.

When playing the game, there are many rules.

When in a tournament there are some more rules.

Following the rules makes the game better for everyone.

There is discipline in being obedient.

Many people think that being on the top, passing out orders is the place to be.

Giving orders doesn't show leadership.

Leadership is showing others how to follow the rules.

How to be part of the system.

If something is broken, we will work together to fix it.

Obedience shows leadership.

This is what Obedience means to me.

So what do you think?

Please leave your comment down below.

I'll have all of the 12 in a card up here.

Please watch them all.

You cashed in all my promises

You know I'm too generous

Now I've learned to never help you out

Cause I'm done cleaning up your mess

Found myself in my regret

I've become a little stronger now

A little stronger now

You cashed in all my promises

You know I'm too generous

Now I've learned to never help you out

Cause I'm done cleaning up your mess

Found myself in my regret

I've become a little stronger now

A little stronger now

A little stronger now

A little stronger now

A little stronger now

You cashed in all my promises

You know I'm too generous

Now I've learned to never help you out

Cause I'm done cleaning up your mess

Found myself in my regret

I've become a little stronger now

A little stronger now

What we expect from the next Putin's term - Duration: 8:36.

This week has been rich in significant events

The Russian Team was sidelined from the participation in the Olympics

The USA threaten us with sanctions again

Vladimir Putin announced that he would run for president

And that decision is expected, the election outcome is predictable

The main issue is about Putin's presidency new term

and how they would put pressure on us before the election

It's obvious that suspension of our Team from the Olympics

is not the first and not necessarily final example of such a pressure

The discription of the whole intrigue about the Olympics

has just been given by Dimitri Konstantinovich

And probably we won't refer to this topic again today

And speaking of absolutely expected

and completely predicted Mr. Putin's standing for election

the central intrigue is about what program Vladimir Vladimirovich has for the election

mean, what's the idea of what we want to see from our country

and what kind of country we want to see

However, I should say a couple words about the Olympics

In terms of that if it's right or not that we are going to the Olympics

I think that it should be considered from the technological positions

Just imagine: before the elections

we would prohibit our Team to participate in the Olympics

but a group of sportsmen still would go to the Olympics

So then we would witness a political demonstration

It would be a political demonstration. They would be a part of a political action

Those, who would go there, would become a political action

and enemies of the Russia would use 100% of it.

Just before the elections.

Just before the elections. Exactly

I think that it was one of the moves which should have worked

"They're going or not. We'll see.

If they don't go, then we'll find somebody else

and make them dissidents

make a group of them which will be a political group of protest supporters

And it would be shown just before the elections

So I think that there was no other choice in terms of technological position.

Yes, emotionally, I'd definitely tell them where to go, too.

. I mean there are some cramp accusations, pardon my language.

But in terms of technological point of view

especially in context of elections, there was no other way to do it differently

So, this is an optimal reaction

it has its defined pros and cons

With regard to other possible problems

which will be created before the elections

in my opinion, it would be about Syria

Yes, defeat of terrorists is mainly completed

the peace process is initiated

But, firstly, there's no end in sight to this peace process

but it's typical for the East

and especially for the Middle East

Secondly, I'm absolutely confident that we could expect

some provocations in Syria, armed provocations

which would be arranged to discredit our position

regarding the completion of the defeat etc.

This is a very eventual moment, which, in my opinion, could happen, unfortunately.

By the way, as we all have learned today, the French won as well.

Everybody won, even those, who weren't anywhere near

Again the French won. - Undoubtedly.

So, if something happens, then Russia lost, and Al-Assad

But speaking about victory, it's for the French. This is clear.

Talking about possible political actions within Russia

I think, the opposition, anti-Putin opposition, in my opinion, has already lost.

It's almost impossible to do something serious before the elections.

Yes, probably, they would practice some scenarios

Yes, probably, we would see something

especially in large cities, some attempts to gather people through the networks

But most likely, it wouldn't have any serious effect

Although the large cities is a problem spot traditionally for a federal election

That's clear. Because it is there most of opposition-leaning electorate is concentrated

And thirdly, lastly, about what it should be

what we expect from the next Putin's term, because it's very important

At least, according to the Constitution, it will be the last Putin's term

I think that he has already gone down in history, no doubts

regardless of how to treat him, but still.

According to the Constitution, it's not.

No?

Two terms in a row are not allowed.

So, after a gap.

So, this will be a question of his age and opportunities

No, it's two terms in a row, according to the Constitution.

However, honestly, I personally would like this term

o be really historical in scope of changes in Russia.

All these years. Because speaking about economy

we have already mentioned this repeatedly in your studio

30 years of reforms, and the result is negligible, in my opinion

Negligible.

So far there's no a compromise working model

which would combine government's participation in scale of Russia, infrastructure projects and private initiative

Such a compromise model isn't found yet; so much ideology

Our approach to the economy is:

firstly, determined by ideological stamps, like free market economy, competitiveness and etc

In this case, we're barely different from the Soviet model

in terms of the ideological stance

When it's not effectiveness which is the most important

but compliance to a particular economic schools.

Just now Gaidar is instead of Marx.

Gaidar. Honestly, I don't want to compare them.

Marx was more powerful

To put it mildly. Though I'm not a Marx's supporter.

Marx was objectively a famous scientist

whose name was written in golden letters

So, you can agree or not

but to deny his role in science would be ridiculous

I'm far from a Marxist, but it should be admitted

But Gaidar is far from the weakest scientist

No disrespect, but they're incomparable

Maybe.

Really incomparable.

Vladimir, and secondly. Our economy is determined by...

Aunt Rosa is Senior Economist. And Marx is just a politician...

More important than Marx.

Secondly, our economy is determined by personal interests of particular influence group

including those, who constantly move their money outside our country

and doesn't work efficiently for the economy

It's necessary to find the model, which would set goals

and ways should comply with the achieving the goals, not with premises

and, of course, I think that a lot of people expect from this economy

not only some workplaces, not 5,000, 6,000 or 3,000 how it's reported

, but hundreds of thousand of workplaces

And undoubtedly, social policy.

Social justice, what a lot of people talk about.

They actually believe that it has been lacking so far

These two directions, because the foreign policy is quite alright

should be focused on by Putin next year.

We can't step back of sport topic for the reason that sport has long been a show business

And the large number of people got into it like into drugs

and watch it again and again

That's why I call on all of us, including the audience

not to confuse it, not to burden it with a political sense

But in fact, we also fall victims to provocation

the outer one, when burden it with some extra-bloated political issues

Yes, it's present, this political sense

I completely agree with the words toward...

Sport is a national idea. We did this pump ourselves. By the way, why?

Not me, Mikhail.

I get it.

We're doing it ourselves, so let's stop and see things clear-headed

And after all, first of all, the money should be spent on sport

not for people staring at the TV

but to maintain the people's health at a high enough level.

This is important, not to fall into the trap of show business

which makes a person TV-addicted

who always has to watch and watch

Something isn't shown - he's in frustration

Like there's no other points in life

And one more thing. In addition to the joining to all these organizations etc.

it's absolutely correct, this is really alternative games

Look, we have SCO. let's make the SCO winter games

and we will always be on the top there

firstly, and secondly, I assure you, seriously, if we make a good prize fund, everybody will come:

the Americans will get there, the Europeans will, and all.

They will be coming and coming; come and compete, come and compete.

It's not a bad alternative.

Thirdly, towards the elections, I return to it.

the question about the programs is important in terms of technological point of view

because on the one hand, nobody reads them.

But it's still important. When we talk about opposition

when we talk about the alternative ideas, we should be honest

In fact, we have only KPRF (the Communist Party) with its own program

because they have historical and ideological legacy

All the rest. What is their weakness?

In fact, they don't say anything, but "off with Putin".

This is the only item of their programs.

All the rest is that we heard a million times and that doesn't work

or just a rubbish of some greenhorns, pardon my language

who don't have a program at all.

"Not Putin, let it be not Putin, but me"

and by the way, this is a conceptual weakness of those who pretend to be an opposition.
