Accuracy | Marine Corps Gunner - Duration: 1:24.All right Marines and sailors we've got an excellent question for you today.
Cpl. Affleck, who's an infantryman from 1-6, and I we're talking about short-barrel rifle versus long barrel rifle.
Which is more effective? Which is more accurate?
Today we're going to test that.
So we're gonna have him shoot a precision rifle
and establish a group as a baseline to measure the short barrel rifle and the longer barrel rifle.
First a 14.5 inch M4A1 SOPMOD RIS II with a suppressor,
and then we're gonna compare that against the Daniel Defense MK18, 10.3 inch barrel.
With admittedly a much larger scope than it needs,
but i want him to be able to aim precisely, so we can establish a really good group.
Now you'll notice from the results he suffered no accuracy penalty
due to having a shorter barrel on the weapon.
That's not the way it works.
Accuracy of the ammunition, accuracy of the shooter, condition of the weapon,
all of those factors play into whether the rifle shoots better or not.
It's not the barrel length.
Now you will suffer as you saw in an earlier video a velocity loss, but not an accuracy penalty.
Semper Fi Marines.

Republican Governor Immediately Silences Every Anti-Trump Welfare Leech In His State. - Duration: 3:37.Republican Governor Immediately Silences Every Anti-Trump Welfare Leech In His State.
There is a stereotype in America that is far too often accurate.
It consists of myriads of welfare leeches spending their benefits on everything but
that for which they were intended.
This would include food stamp fraud.
This consists of illegally selling food stamp benefits for cash which is then used for illegal
drugs among other things.
Then there are those who make fraudulent applications for benefits.
Another characteristic that is common to these folks is an unwillingness to work, ever if
able.
In other words, government benefits that are to be a safety net for those who are truly
impoverished are instead used to subsidize idleness and drug abuse.
Unhealthy lifestyles are subsidized while children are often in need.
All courtesy of a depraved nature coupled with poorly administered benefits.
Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin intends to end at least part of this abuse.
Those on welfare in his state will have to submit to periodic tests for illegal drugs.
Thus ends or dramatically curtails the misuse of welfare benefits to support an illegal
drug habit.
"Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, whose pro-growth and pro-taxpayer reforms have transformed
the Badger State into a magnet for jobs and opportunities, seeks to further rehabilitate
his once-ailing state by implementing drug-testing for able-bodied food stamp applicants.
"'Wisconsin's Republican governor has submitted a plan to state lawmakers for drug
testing able-bodied recipients of the state's Food Share program,' the Milwaukee Journal
Sentinel reported Monday.
"'If the state Legislature doesn't object within 120 days, the plan will go into effect,
though it will take at least a year for actual testing to begin,' the report noted."
At least it will take a year to implement the program.
For a moment there, one could have been concerned that government had lost its ability to take
a simple project and string it out for months or years.
Seriously, though, this is precisely the sort of thing that needs to be done nationwide.
The left will scream that what we have is typical Republican insensitivity to the needs
of the poor.
On closer examination, that is easily proven as false.
Note how things will work.
"According to the Walker administration, the goal wouldn't be to make life more difficult
for those in need of food stamps, but rather to first identify recipients with substance
abuse issues and then provide them with the help they need to recover.
Why?
Because most employers aren't too keen on hiring drug abusers.
"'Employers have jobs available, but they need skilled workers who can pass a drug test,'
Walker explained in a news brief released by his office.
'This rule change means people battling substance use disorders will be able to get
the help they need to get healthy, and get back into the workforce.'"
This is even more compassionate than what the liberals allege to support.
Impoverished drug addicts are to be identified and placed in programs to help them overcome
their addictions.
Once they are "clean" they are more likely to find good jobs, earn more money, and get
off welfare.
Of course, the results won't be perfect, but it is an excellent plan.
Unless you are a candidate for office who needs drug-addicted welfare recipients to
win elections, it's hard to see how anyone loses under this program.
Could we now hope that other states follow Wisconsin's lead?
what do you think about this?

When A Screenwriter Says, "This Is The Greatest Script You Will Ever Read" by Lee Jessup - Duration: 10:09.Film Courage: Continuing on with fighting for the work.
Let's suppose you're working with someone and they come to you and you either have someone
who is self-deprecating and "mouse-like" or someone who is more of an over-confident
braggart.
Either one is probably detrimental to getting their work out.
Lee Jessup: Yes!
Film Courage: So what are your rules for either breaking down the braggart or maybe you're
not doing this?
Or boosting up the mouse?
Lee Jessup: With the mouse…I just talked to one such mouse this morning who takes very
failure, every "no" as a testament to her own life long, predestined failure.
And so I have very hard brutal conversations about the fact that there will be a lot of
rejections, there will be a lot of no's at every level.
At every level of this industry, nothing is ever perfect.
Nothing is just ever handed to you.
And so it's important to me to have a lot of candid conversations about learning not
to take the no's with quite as much weight, because if you do, it's just never ending,
right?
It's just a recipe for disaster.
So we talk a lot about conviction in the work, believing in your work, believing in your
potential, not needing to rely on other people for your own self-worth.
Because really, that's what it boils down to.
And so we talk a lot about that and fattening up people's lives.
So making sure that my writers that are mousey have their sources, their dependable sources
of fun.
That it's not about the writing all the time.
Because the other side of it is, if it's just the writing, if it's all about the
writing, all the time and nothing else, eventually they will have nothing else to invest in the
writing itself.
They will have nothing to bring to the writing.
So it's really kind of filling our their lives and making sure they they are fulfilled
on many different levels and it's not just the writing that defines them.
Because if it is only the writing that defines you, A) you will become a very boring writer
and B) it will never be fulfilling enough ever…and I've seen that a million times.
Hemingway committed…there is something to learn there.
And so the ones who are…tend to be a little bit more "braggy."
Tend to be a little bit more egotistical, a bit more full of themselves, we will talk
a lot about how their behavior is coming off, and I will do a lot of meeting prep with them
and "the way you are talking about that (to me) comes off a certain way" and you
may want to pay attention to these things.
That's why I am here.
I am here to reflect that and be a mirror to those things.
And so we will certainly talk about how those things come off and that we can't afford
that.
Nobody wants to work with someone who is completely full of themselves.
I had recently a conversation with a manager about a client of mine who he represents.
And he says "I think this client couldn't care less about my opinion."
And I said "Well, actually I think it is quite the contrary.
I think that he is desperate to impress you.
And I think because of that he may be coming off a little bit more bigger and boastful
but it's out of desperation to get you on his side, to get you to rally behind him.
It's not for lack of respect, it's because of respect that he's behaving that way."
So many times writers don't have me as a go-between to communicate to their agents
or their managers or the executive that they are working with so a lot of it is me talking
to them as "Listen, this is how I am reading you right now.
I know it doesn't sound fun and I'm sorry to say this and I love you and I know what
a great person you are, but this is how I am reading this.
Is this how you want me to read this?
If you are fine with it, keep going.
But I am reading this as someone who thinks they are smarter than anyone else in the room."
Nobody wants to work with that.
Film Courage: Can I hear some examples?
Let's suppose conversations with the self-deprecating writer versus conversations with the braggart,
because maybe this person doesn't recognize who they are?
The braggart….the most obvious and overt ones are the braggarts that will come in and
say (and these are usually not professional writers.
Professional writers don't do this and have learned better and have broken because they
don't.
But it has happened).
"This is the greatest script you are ever going to read!"
"I am the Michael Jordan of screenwriting."
Whoah!
Hold on…these are things that have been said to me, for the record.
"This is the script you've been waiting for."
"Take this script on vacation.
This is my vacation gift to you."
"I want you sit at sunset and read it on the veranda because this will make your vacation."
So those things have been said to me.
You know, you want to steer clear of "This is the greatest, this is the best script ever!"
You can certainly say "This is the greatest thing I've ever written, I'm really proud
of it, I've worked really hard at it.
You know, I have eight scripts behind me and this is my best one."
That's not braggery, that is genuine.
But somebody coming in and saying "Oh, my Gosh.
This is so much better than anything else out there."
I had one writer, a working writer, no longer a working writer, who used to be very, very
successful, had fallen from grace (a bit, not a great deal) but who used to every year
write a list of all the screenplays that were nominated for academy awards and then write
arguments for why his script was better and send it out in Christmas cards.
Not a good idea!
Just not a good idea.
If you are saying to me that your script, that is unproduced, that nobody wants to pick
up, that has been read by everybody, but nobody loved it, is better than ARGO, you're…hhmmm.
It's a problem.
So that's the braggery side and of course the examples I've brought in are a little
bit on the extreme side of it, but I think you get the tone of it.
The more self-defeating writers, it's usually conversation about "I got this rejection.
I know that I will never be the person I want to be."
There's usually a direct connection about what rejection means about the person, not
about the script or the person reading the script.
"I'm not going to make it as a writer.
I will never be happy.
I will never be fulfilled.
I'm just a loser.
I didn't make it in this contest."
I can't tell you the rhyme or reason of screenwriting contest.
I've been in this industry forever and I still don't understand them.
And I have writers say "I didn't make the quarter finals in the Nichol, I'm a
loser, I know that I'm a loser now, I'm a bad writer."
Hold on, there's going to be lots more rejections, there's going to be lots more opportunities
to be a loser.
Don't jump at the chance so quickly.
But for a lot of writers it's very real.
And don't get me wrong, every writer has a moment or 15 of being self-defeatist.
You know, I have one writer who is a working writer who is always saying if you're not
thinking about quitting at least twice a week you are doing something wrong.
And I believe him.
I think it's very, very true.
I think every writer thinks they are failing at a moment, every writer thinks that they
are not good enough, every writer thinks that they are never going to recreate the past
success that they've had.
I think that's perfectly part of the deal, but seeing everything as a failure, as an
indication that you are just a loser.
Or that you are just a bad writer.
Or you are just a bad person.
That is what I see in the more self-defeated writers.
And the problem is that nobody wants to work with that.
Nobody wants to be in a room with that.
Nobody wants to pick up your script as a validation to who you are as a human being.
They want to pick it up your script because it's a great script and they want to bring
you in the room because they think you have something to contribute.
Not because they think that you need the room and that's a big distinction.
Film Courage: So are you giving these people pep talks or that's not really what your
job is about?
Lee Jessup: Oh…I give people pep talks…I'm Israeli, I'm married to a New Yorker, so
there's a lot of tough love in the picture.
You know, admittedly I get a lot of tears from a lot of people and I want to be the
safe space to that and the place for writers to voice frustration and I certainly try to
support them through it.
There are writers where if I see that we are getting to a place where every time we meet
it is just horrible and the writer is in pieces, I will ask "Why in the world are you doing
this?"
It's more important to be happy than be a writer, what are you doing?
I will have those conversations.
There are pep talks, there is tough love and there is a shoulder to give.
I recognize that this is a really, really hard profession.
You know, I was talking to a writer this morning who was really frustrated with a set of notes
that she was given on a pilot that she just sold but the draft that she turned in, she
wasn't delighted with.
And it took a toll on her because she really wants to do the best at every thing.
And it brought her to the question "Why am I doing this?"
And this is not her first time to the rodeo and "Should I really keep going because
this happens every time?"
And I said to her "You know, the day you sold this pilot, you called me on the drive
home after the pilot sold in the room and you told me that this was one of the happiest
days in your life.
Now you are having a bad day, this is not one of the worst days of your life and because
of that you are going to keep going."
And that's the truth of the matter, we are all going to have bad days here and I'm
here to support my writers though them but it's about understanding when there are
some bad days and when it's all bad days.

9 Ways To Enhance Your Intuitive Abilities To Their Full - Duration: 4:53.9 Ways To Enhance Your Intuitive Abilities To Their Full Potential
Intuition helps us know something through feelings and sensations, without the need
for conscious reasoning.
We all have the capacity to listen to this intuitive voice within us.
However, our intuitive abilities could be further enhanced once we know how to properly
honor this potential.
9 Ways To Enhance Your Intuitive Abilities: Here are the ways to honor your intuition
and enhance your intuitive abilities!
1.
Look for cues.
Start small and look for some cues by consciously sensing the energy of people, places, choices
and opportunities.
Test your assumptions by asking questions.
Practice looking for vibes in unexpected places.
Compare your intuitive insights with reality so you start recognizing how your intuition
feels like.
2.
Listen and feel your body.
Notice how your body reacts when you are about to make a decision.
Consider whether your choices make you feel comfortable or uncomfortable.
Even if your decision doesnt seem to follow logical reasoning, as long as it feels right,
give it more weight.
3.
Cultivate your presence in the here and now.
Practice meditation.
Choose the type of meditation that suits you, but make sure that the purpose is not only
to calm your mind but bring it to the here and now.
By allowing your mind to be still, you are better able to listen to your inner knowing.
By bringing your mind to the present moment you are better able to perceive your surroundings.
4.
Spend time in nature.
Spending time in nature allows you to enhance your intuition because it connects you to
the energy that entangles us all.
Take a walk in the forest or nature park.
Or, you can do meditative walking, just make sure its among natural elements.
By connecting with Nature you are connecting to the universal language that intuition speaks
with.
5.
Ask for guidance from the Higher Power.
Invoke the help of God, Buddha, Allah or however you call the Higher Power that you believe
in.
By connecting to a source higher than you are, you are strengthening your intuition.
The more you connect to the Higher Power, the stronger your intuition becomes.
6.
Give importance to your dreams.
Dreams are an expression of your subconscious.
They hold messages from your intuitive knowledge that come deep from your subconscious and
unconscious mind.
When your cognitive mind sleeps, your subconscious mind gets the chance to send you intuitive
messages through dreams without them being filtered by your rational mind.
Find a way to interpret your dreams and act on the messages it gives you.
7.
Acknowledge the signs and synchronicities.
Eliminate the distractions that prevent you from noticing these signs.
Keep yourself less busy and give more time to tuning into yourself.
Acknowledge the signs and synchronicities because they carry important intuitive messages
for you.
8.
Play with your intuition to make it more fun.
Make a game with your intuition.
When your phone rings, guess who the caller is and see if your intuition works.
Or, when you are about to look at your watch, guess what time is it.
Try to see the difference of how you felt before you answered correct and when you were
wrong.
These subtle details can make you aware of what is truly your intuition and what is just
the voice of your mind.
9.
Test your intuition by writing down your hunches.
Every time you feel something, write it down and check back on it later.
This way, you develop your faith based on evidence, which will inspire you to listen
to your intuition more and not dismiss it altogether.
If some of your hunches arent what they seem to be, dont lose hope.
Try to find the differences in sensations and feelings both when you were wrong and
when you are right.
Continue writing until you notice the workings of your intuition.
Intuition is a gift given to each of us.
Its our unused psychological muscle that we need to train.
The more you train your intuition the better you can understand it.

Harry used Today to highlight issues he wants us to care about - climate change, charities, the abuse of social media and the need to respect our armed forces.
Sadly, the Prince falls into the same trap as dear old Bono - telling us the blindingly obvious.
It's a bit like the banal call to arms 'make poverty history'. I have yet to meet a rational, normal person who would say 'I despise servicemen and women, I want to pollute the planet, sod the poor and I believe charities are a force for evil'.
Most of us want the world to be a fairer, cleaner, peaceful place. Prince Harry is a decent bloke who served ten years in the army and now finds himself in the invidious position of not really having a career, as his older brother's fertility (two kids and another on the way) means his chances of becoming King are practically zero.
He's in the same ghastly situation as Prince Charles has been lumbered with for the last forty years. Harry has said 'no one really wants to be King', claiming he wants to 'modernise' the monarchy.
Does that mean being more accessible, posing for selfies, popping up on talk shows? A dangerous strategy which could easily backfire.
To survive the Crown must remain mysterious and separate, impervious to the media storm that surrounds celebrities and politicians.
Harry (naively) believes he can use the media in the name of good causes (and to re-brand his family as being just like the rest of us through common passions) - talking about his mother's death and her legacy, his charities and his campaign to get young people to talk about depression freely.
He's supposed to be above politics, but if he really wants to make a difference he should be campaigning for government funding to be tripled, because help for mental illness is scandalously difficult to obtain.
In fact, the length of time for an appointment with a counsellor has gone up, not down, since Harry started speaking out.
The UK's Defence funding has been cut, not increased, over the last few years, to the point where we barely have any battleships and a skeleton army.
Again, politicians are to blame. The public's donations for returning servicemen, via charities like Help for Heroes and Harry's Invictus Games, has been huge, running into millions - and that's money from people living on basic incomes, paying a far larger proportion of their annual wealth in tax than the Princes with their Trust funds, financial advisors and inherited wealth, property portfolios and free accommodation.
As for putting himself as a voice for the 'young'- Harry is 33 years old - young people have plenty of their own heroes, and I doubt how many 15-year-old inner-city kids living in substandard accommodation relate to Royalty rather than Grime stars like Stormzy.
I want Harry to be fulfilled and to have a job where he can use his undoubted people skills - but what?
Getting married will produce a media maelstrom and a short-lived feel-good moment, especially as the costs will be borne by his family, with the tax-payers of the UK only coughing up for the security and clear-up afterwards.
Harry used the Today programme to speak up for the good that young people do (saying it's too easy to criticise millennials as superficial, selfish and self-obsessed') - but we know that already.
All the hard-workers at long-running charitable organisations like Comic Relief have been doing that for years - they don't need Harry to blow their trumpet.
Every fund-raising telethon is driven by school children and the young. As for Harry's interview with ex-President Obama, it was an opportunity lost - there was a side-ways swipe at the misuse of social media, but the former President treated the Prince a bit like a star pupil editing the school magazine.
Filmed at the Invictus games for former servicemen in Toronto last fall, Obama said it was important for him to talk to them - 'there is a tragedy in a young person being wounded'.
Yes, we can all agree on that score. Harry told Today he was 'passionate about issues that need to be discussed' - but the big question he never answered was what he intends to do after his honeymoon.
How about giving up the security men, living in a normal house, and taking a job where you have to turn up every day (not when the polo season is on recess)?
Harry, we only want you to be happy, stop worrying about the rest of us.

You still love that ukulele so much, it seems
Hi Steven!
Hey, great job on the house
Thank you very much
Say Greg, was it you that gave this instrument to Steven?
Yeah, and besides, he learns so fast that I don't know what to show him anymore
Steven, what time to play your song!
Come on, you wrote it for them
I assure you, girls, he is super happy to go and live with you
He talks about it so much
Don't you want them to hear it?
Come on Steven!
Yeah anyway we would love even if it is bad
Amethyst!
Eh, that's not wrong
You all, the wicked who approached
Expect that we come to stop you
Because we will not let you do this
We'll win and we'll have a pizza
We, the crystal gems
We save the entire world
We need to be confident
We'll do everything to get there
That's why everyone here
Believes in us
Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl, and Steven!
If you could know
What we really are
When we arrived
From the heavens
We found you
Magnificant and touching
We will fight for you
We will fight for the Earth x2
We will fight for you
I will fight because here I can live
Peacefully because I am finally free
I will fight in the name of Rose Quartz
And everything that she believed
I will fight for the planet where I come from
I've never known any other place
I will fight to rise up
And become what everyone expects of me
We don't have the advantage
It won't be easy
But at least we'll be together
We, the crystal gems
We save the entire world
We need to be confident
We will do everything to get there
That's why everyone here
Believes in us
Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl, and Steven!
