7 PHOTO IDEAS to instantly IMPROVE your WINTER photography - Duration: 16:54.
hello great to see you all again in today's video I'm talking all about
winter I've got some great tips ideas and tricks to get some great winter
landscapes
okay so let's get going hope everyone had a good holiday and I'm sure if
you're like me and you're probably sick of just eating too many chocolates so
Winter was a great time to get out and start shooting well one of the great
things about winter is the suns at a lower angle in the sky so those golden hours
just last a little bit longer and you can pretty much shoot throughout the
whole day. So what I'm gonna do today is go through seven tips and ideas
to get some better winter shots. Okay the first thing is color, so color really
matters I think in winter photography often you look at a scene and it's quite
monochromatic. So the snow and the lack of leaves on the trees really create a
very sort of black and white scene but if you can add a little bit of color
into it then it makes a really big difference to that image so I'm going to
go through a couple of images now and show you a little bit more about what I
mean so this one here this image before I do this actually I'll just show you
the color wheel so the color wheel, on the color wheel you can see that the
blue and the oranges are sort of opposite sides of the color wheel so if
you can get those contrasting colors and quite often in a snowy scene or a cold
looking scene then you have some blue so if you can get an orange color in that
scene as well then they really complement each other and you can get a
really good image. So in this image here this was taken in France you know this
would be a an okay landscape but these huts I've added here in the
intersection of the Thirds really add to the dynamic of this image so just
that little splash of color in the image makes a really big difference and then
again looking at this image which I talked and actually this was also in the
Alps in France it's a very blue looking scene it was early in the morning and I
was driving back down the mountain actually and the Sun that was just
rising as it was rising you can see just caught the top of the mountains here and
it made such a big difference to the to the image now you could convert this
into black and white and it just wouldn't look anywhere near as good it's
that splash of color that splash of orange in the clouds on top of the
mountain which really makes this image and brings this winter landscape to life
so it's a really good idea whether that colors created by the Sun cast in some
great light on the landscape or it's just maybe just a little bit of
light that you spot out on a hut or maybe a person that's got a different
color coat on you often see if you look on Instagram people wearing yellow or
red in winter scenes and it just looks so good really concentrate on color and
how you use color in your landscapes and I think you'll find that you can get
some amazing shots you know just really look for those colors maybe then just
the last leaf on a tree and you'll find oak trees keep their leaves for a bit
longer and you might just find them and a leaf or a hot and then also you can
use white balance to your advantage as well so the the white balance that you
would add in an image makes a really big difference to that image so for instance
here and an image that I've shown in one of my previous videos sun tree it's one
of my favorite images but if I show you this image as the camera took it you can
see it's quite a warm looking image but if I just adjust the white balance to
how I thought it was that morning which is a lot colder then you can see that
the coldness in the frost it was about -7oC it is really
brought out in the foreground of the image so thinking about the white
balance is a really important in winter scenes and adjust in that white balance
tip to complement the mood of your image makes a really big difference to the
scene and the shot and what you're trying to portray in the story of that
image so you know really think about that make sure you shoot on Raw so that
you're not locking that white balance into the photo and then
you can change it in Lightroom later top tip that I use is that I shoot all my
shots on sunny white balance and then I know that the white balance when I look
at them in Lightroom is all the same and then I can adjust it to how I think I
want it to look to again reflect the story of that image so the second tip is
using snow and ice and frost to aid the composition of your image so often snow
and simplicity to an image it reduces the complexity of the grass and the
things that might be on the grass and creates a more even uniform layer and
you can use that to your advantage and creative strong images so this is a
really good example here this was a hill near where I live called
Shutlingsloe and you can see that the contrast of the walls the stone hot here
against the snow is really quite strong and you can also use a long lens to take
further advantage of this that photo that I took in folk in Scotland on my
first video in Scotland which is linked here just shows that off really well so
you can see that again the snow is created a more simplistic landscape and
reduced a lot of the different colors in the landscape and that creates a very
strong composition so this image here was an image that I took of a wall
leading down into the distant hills and mountains and you can see how the snow
has really helped that composition that's not the best-ever image here but
it demonstrates the point so the snow on the wall has created more texture on the
wall the snow on the rock and the background this picked out some details
of the rock so by using snow it changes the composition of the image slightly
and you can add to the wrong elements that often exist in images you can do
that with the way the snow lands on trees or the way it lands on leaves or
the way it lands on the ground and rocks and it really can improve your images
don't just think that if a beautiful scene has snow on it that you're going
to get an amazing image because it doesn't always work that way things can
look really amazing but actually when you're going take them or trying to find
a composition it can be difficult and snow can make it difficult so this is a
funny story when I was in Squaw which is in California that there was a huge snow
fall around about two foot of snow fell and we were passing by this river here
and I just couldn't find the composition and I actually waded through some really
deep snow to try and get there and no matter what I did I just couldn't find a
composition well what I should have done is put a longer lens on and tried to
pick out some detail but I'd also already waded down this really deep snow
and I just I just couldn't face doing it again it was so hard to get up and down
the the snow but if if I'd have thought about to put a longer lens on and tried
to pick out some detail in these trees in the middle of
the scene but but just snow just doesn't always make an amazing landscape just
straight in front of you you've still got to go and try and find that
composition so the third thing is concentrate on the details look for
details ice patterns the way that the snow and
the wind does blow in the snow and you can often find some really abstract
images in that I was taking an image of some snow that had been blown by the
wind and it was really great I have my macro lens on and I'll try to zoom in a
little bit closer and you can see this this is where I've used white bounce to
my advantage I really cooled down the image to create a really cold feeling
and it almost looks like a drone shot when I'm looking down on some mountains
you can also do it and photograph with a macro lens the ice crystals as well if
you get really close up and use the macro lens to quit some amazing bokeh in
the background if you get it just right then you can create sort of rainbow
effects in that bokeh as well and it can look really amazing and then by using
backlighting and getting close in on the the way that the ice forms on their
grasses again you can create some really stunning results so here's some grass
that has just been backlit by some beautiful morning light and you can see
where the frost has just created this spectacular look to the way the grass is
showing and again by using a really narrow depth of field can really pick
out the details in that grass so just look a bit closer and try and think
about how you can use your camera in a slightly different way and you can get
some amazing result so the fourth idea is trying to portray the mood of the day
and the conditions on the day so don't be put off if it's snowing really hard
or if it's really frosty or if it's foggy because often the conditions that
you get in winter and the way you portray those conditions can create a
really really strong image so the first image I want to show you here was an
image that I took and this was actually taken with my iPhone that was on a
one-to-one workshop it really started to snow really hard we were putting our
gear away and then I said I actually think we could get quite a good image
here of the snow coming down so I got my iPhone out just just to demonstrate what
we might be able to get which is obviously a good tool to use as well you
know just getting your iPhone and taking shots to see whether it might work on
that worked out around about one fiftieth of a second which works really
well for snow trips no streaks and you can see that that adds a really great
layer to the image which simplifies the image a little bit so I was really
pleased with that again the image that I've spoken about before I did a video
on how I edited this image and how editing it to portray the mood was
really important it was an image that I took when I was at River brothei in the
Lake District and it was a really cold morning and we really wanted to portray
that cold but also the song was rise and it looked quite you know there was a
really glow to it as well so I I edited it slightly different for the top and
bottom of the image so the top is a warmer white balance in the bottom so a
little bit of a cold or white balance and by doing that it's created a quite
strong image that reflects the mood so the fifth thing is to take care with
your exposure it's really important to when you're taking snow scenes to make
sure that you just don't go out there put it on full auto and take some images
because what you'll find is a lot of them are underexposed you camera tends
to expose for a neutral gray in the image and I think that's about 17
percent gray but when you have a lot of white in it it assumes that that's meant
to be gray and under expose of the image so what you want to do is that you want
to push up the exposure now obviously what you should be doing is looking at
your histogram all the time but if you push up the exposure on on your image
and make sure your histogram isn't clipping the highlights then you've got
a properly exposed image and you really want to be exposing to the right pushing
you a histogram to the right as much as possible to get the best out of your
sensor and these are two images that I wanted to show where where this was was
definitely the case the first one is the Alps again this was an image that if I
show you the image that I took first here then you can see so underexposed
and then I corrected the exposure and you can see this is the image that with
a correct exposure now if I use the first image and try to bring out some of
the shadow detail then I get more noise so it's really important to expose it
correctly in don't be fooled by your sensor. Expose
for the highlights and maybe just spot meter to the highlights is often a good way
of doing it The sixth thing shoot in the morning I
can't stress how important it is to get out early in the morning and shoot in
winter I find that probably 90% of my shots are shot in the morning in winter
much more so than any other season of the year because you get frost on the
floor you get the fresh fall of snow you get amazing atmospheric conditions in
the morning which you just don't get in the evening This image here was one where
I was actually walking Pebbles and we were just on the top of a hill it just
been a fresh snowfall and you can see the window just blowing the snow into
some really great patterns to create great leading lines down into the valley
and the Sun just create this amazing glow in the top right so by getting out
in the morning and using that low Sun allowed me to really pick up on those
patterns in the foreground but also create a great glow in the top right so
came out in the morning is so important again this was a shot that I took in
Yosemite it was amazing conditions the fog was
still hanging in the valley and the Sun was crane is amazing golden rays through
the trees and if I'd have been there an hour or so later that Miss had have gone
and I wouldn't have got those great conditions so yeah
getting out in the morning makes such a big difference to your
photography. Okay, the final and seventh thing that I would recommend when you're
trying to do some great winter photography is love the trees so trees
obviously have lost all their leaves or deciduous trees have lost all their
leaves in the winter they show their true shapes and their characters and you
can get some amazing shots of trees in the winter weather that's trees that
have had fresh snow on them or trees that are just in the landscape that
haven't had any snow on them or maybe just got a little bit of frost on them
you should go out and try and photograph them so here I Here I am photographing
some trees that have just had some fresh snow on them and they just look
fantastic you can see all the veins of the all
brunches and it picks out all the detail in those branches and you can create
some amazing shots in it with with snow on those trees but you don't have to
have snow on the trees here's a shot where it was just the the border between
autumn and winter this tree which have shot so many times before has lost its
leaves and the shape of it just just was really beautiful but by going when it
was a hard frost it created a different dynamic to the image and again I was out
in the morning here and the morning light just cast a fantastic light on the
backdrop you know that the frost on the wall just gives you that cold feeling
you know it's winter when you look at this image so yeah you know going out
and photographing trees is a great idea but you don't have to do it even in the
frost so here's one that I did at Rydal Water in the Lake District often you get
mist on Rydal Water in the winter you get a lot more mist and fog in the
winter than you do in the summer months and it's a lot easier to get up and
photograph that fog in the morning and it creates a better look with some
of the deciduous trees as well so you can see the shape of the deciduous trees
when you print this image and I printed this image at a A2 then it it just looks
fantastic you can pick up all the details of all the branches and all the
trees in the background and it just you want to look around the image and look
for different different shapes in there and it just really just look brilliant
so there's some tips there's some great ideas to get out and shoot in winter
there's obviously loads of other things that you can do I wanted to share some
things I thought were really important but what you've got to do now is get out
and shoot you know the most important thing is when it snows when there's some
frost when there's some cold conditions some fog or whatever go out and shoot
take advantage of that low light that lasts often throughout the day and get
some great shots so I wanted to thank everybody once again for watching my

Liverpool fans enraged after Coutinho advert appears on Barcelona's official online Nike store #LFC - Duration: 2:17.
Liverpool fans were left enraged and confused after an advert appeared on Barcelona's
official online Nike store offering Philippe Coutinho branding on their shirts.
The advert appeared on the official Nike store, reached through a link on the Catalan giants'
website, on Saturday night - much to the fury of Reds' supporters who shared the ad on social
media.
Barcelona had three huge bids for Coutinho turned down by Liverpool in the summer, with
the Brazilian handing in a transfer request to try to make the move happen.
The Spanish club are expected to try to test Liverpool's resolve again in the January window
- with many fans resigned to losing Coutinho by the end of the season at best.
Barcelona players have regularly spoken about Coutinho coming to the Nou Camp, the latest
being Paulinho just this week, something which has infuriated Liverpool supporters.
The advert on the site had the headline: "Where the magic happens", perhaps a reference to
Coutinho's nickname of the little Magician.
It read: "Philippe Coutinho is ready to light up Camp Nou. get your 2017/8 FC Barcelona
kit with the Magician's name on it.
Act fast - free personalisation only available until January 6."
The link to the shirt sales did not work, however, and the advert was swiftly removed.
A hack is the most likely explanation for the rogue advert although more pessimistic
Reds' supporters believed it may have been something mistakenly published before Coutinho
has completed a deal in January.
Many supporters called on Liverpool chief executive Peter Moore to take action and report
Barcelona because the advert was about a player contracted to another club.

All LEGO Star Wars The Last Jedi minifigs: 2017 summary [SPOILERS!] - Duration: 20:28.
hello hello this is a look at all of the Lego Star Wars the last Jedi figures
that I have collected so far from the videos that I have reviewed as of the
time of the recording and publishing of this video the DJ promotional polybag
has not been released in my region as yet so that is not included here but
I've got everything else that I've been able to pick out of the sets that you've
seen on my channel like I did with the force awakens I have separated these
into first-order or slash bad guy stuff and then resistance slash good guy stuff
and the first thing I want to do is just kind of look at the full selection
because this is the first time I personally have had all of these
together with the latest releases I believe there will be more sets coming
out specifically for the last Jedi but I think like I said this is all that I
have available to me as of the time of this video I also have to warn you that
there will likely be spoilers in this video because I'm going to be talking
most likely about some of the characters and their fates and how they show up in
the movie and how they appear here as many figures relative to how we actually
saw them in the movie so if you haven't seen the movie as yet you don't want any
spoilers you probably want to just wait and not watch this video just yet I've
previously done videos like this for the force awakens and I already did one of
these videos for the last Jedi based upon the figures that were included in
just the first major wave the first big release for this film and since then
this board this base plate full of figures has been filled in quite a lot
and overall I feel like there aren't many surprises in terms of inclusions
nor omissions for what we're seeing here basically we got most of the important
named characters that got a lot of screen time and we also got some of the
secondary and even tertiary characters that got some screen time in the movie
even if they didn't last all that long so that's a pretty decent pretty decent
balance I think for what they've done here there's also a version of pork that
I don't have represented here the Millennium Falcon the ultimate
collector series Millennium Falcon which isn't necessarily last Jedi specific set
but that is one creature figure that I have not included here so please forgive
me for that we don't get a great selection so far of just generic
completely truly unnamed troopers though at least on the resistance side I want
to give some more careful closer attention to some of the individual
figures this time around even though this is kind of a summary video I think
some of these deserve just a little bit closer look once again like this old man
Luke figure this is one that a lot of people were certainly looking forward to
understandably so I personally believe that I have a more positive outlook on
this figure than many fans do a lot of folks I've seen complaining that the
robes are too bright to and should have had more tan and I can understand that
because to be honest you know the the whole center section of the outer robe
so all of this down here should be a very light tan however I gave that some
thought I worried that if they had gone with the full tan there he would have
looked too tan I think it might have been just too much the entire the entire
outfit that old man Luke had the first time we saw him in the last Jedi when he
first revealed himself on the island you know he looked very bright he had that
almost angelic kind of countenance as he stood there before he kind of showed
what his personality is really like in this part of the the story as part of
the timeline so you know it's a little bit of a subjective thing there and I
absolutely think that folks who think it should have been darker are correct and
folks who like it being lighter I think are correct as well it's it's a
subjective call that had to be made another thing that is a little bit of a
little bit of a controversy is that the hair you know they didn't put any gray
in this and obviously he had graying it wasn't fully gray I think that this
looks better to me looks more accurate than a full light gray treatments would
have or even a dark gray treatment I think that the closest thing they could
have done of course they could have gotten it within reasonable production
techniques would have been to just highlight some of the locks with a light
gray you can't start with gray and then put the dirty blonde kind of highlights
on top of that that that'll look very artificial it may be a little bit of
gray much like they did for the facial hair
right that's kind of the the closest approximation I think for his actual
overall hair colors when you mix those two together but at least I think the
mold for this hair was very good and it was nice to get some pretty decent
printing on the back of that torso as well and - fully done up faces Snoke I
thought was pretty well approximated in Lego form here I think it's a really
interesting looking figure of course there's the the constant ridicule of him
looking like he's in a bathrobe which he really does I mean he really did in the
movie the one problem with this one is that he is rendered as a normal height
figure but in universe and in the movie I mean he's tall he's really tall he's
not even a little bit tall he's not even like a tall human he's significantly
taller than a tall human so rendering him just as a normal height figure is a
little bit awkward but I already gave you the spoiler alert right so we don't
have to worry about anybody getting angry of me getting or giving spoilers
at this point dude got cut in half real quick in in the movie he became
irrelevant real quick so not doing a specialized mold or not bringing back
the the woody mold from from Toy Story for the legs for this I think is
excusable you know we needed to get a figure of him in some form and as a
regular-sized figure I think he's fine but he will always look
a little bit on the short side relative to how he actually was during his short
lifespan I want to take another look at Captain phasma as well because on the
left here is the the last Jedi version of her and on the right is the force
awakens version of her and when you see these side by side you notice that the
helmet printing design is significantly changed I mean it's it's still the same
overall shape but pretty much every line has been moved around except for just
the bottom pinstripe on the chin if very much Reese Culp 'td the the graphic
design that the actual mold is the same but they've changed the shape of the
face quite significantly by changing the proportions around and I actually had
not realized that when I initially reviewed the one set this comes in the
first order a TST broken legs set but fans did viewers did call this out and I
wanted to acknowledge that and show that on screen that this is indeed a new and
exclusive version of phasma that we got in Lego form for the last Jedi while
we're doing side by sides I wanted to look at ROS as well of course this was a
character that needed to be made into Lego form and I think it's quite nice
that they did both versions of her the original normal resistance outfit
version and the empiric I keep doing that Imperial the first order officer
disguise version of her I think that they did justice with both of these this
is a character that in universe is rather short so they could have rendered
this as as a smaller character but I think that putting actual short legs on
her the the child sized legs would have gone too far so I think they actually
did a really good job here especially with the hair I think that's that's one
of the better truly specialized hair pieces that that they've come up with
for a named character I think it's on par in terms of accuracy and
believability with what they did for Luke and I'm
surprised they actually went ahead and did a separate mold for her in the the
imperial again first order officer disguise variant of course we also have
got thin in both his PO Dameron jacket and first-order forms and in the first
order form he came in the same set as the first order disguise rows which was
appropriate and he came in the same set as phasma and that was fantastic to get
those three together because they really go together very frequently leggo will
kind of spread figures out it's difficult for them to to create sets
that really cover a specific scene when they end up having extra figures left
over they don't fit into the budget for a given set or they need more figures so
they start pulling them from different places in different parts of of a movie
or whatever the source material is so getting those all together was really
good and he got the all-important weapon of the storm trooper of six spins which
everybody loved it wasn't that great of battle in the movie but you know made
for some good trailer kind of drama build-up and again it was good to get
the figure one last side-by-side I want to do is for ray showing the two
versions of her from the same place but before and after she really got into her
training so I think then the new one looks kind of simple relatively speaking
but it really is in universe you know the actual costume is pretty simple and
pretty clean with its lines and you know just doesn't have too much styling to it
doesn't have too much movement it's very it's it's kind of relatively
tight-fitting and athletic and I feel like Lego captured that pretty well here
you know they didn't try to embellish it at all I think it's a pretty the one on
the right I think is a pretty well done figure if not as interesting as the
previous versions and and you know what we saw in the force
awakens so we also get the two different versions of hair here and I think that
both of those are fine enough maybe could have used a little bit finer
detailing I feel like some of the edges on those are just a little bit a little
bit too soft for the the mold itself so we got a vice-admiral hold Oh figure and
that was obviously important and having seen the movie I feel like they did a
better job on this than I felt before I saw the movie and just having seen what
she look like from promotional material including the trailers so I think this
was a pretty nice inclusion only way to make it better would have been to have a
specialized piece to hang off the back which I guess could have been a printed
and die cut cloth piece perhaps that would have worked it definitely would
have needed some print on it though but I think this figure worked out pretty
well however who she replaced for a time at the lead of the resistance forces is
not included in this wave of sets at all of course I'm talking about Leia and we
did get a new trilogy version of Leia previously but this was in her kind of
casual outfit for going to the ground and this is not how we saw her in the
last Jedi I think that they may have done that intentionally just not knowing
what to do out of respect for the recently deceased but given how powerful
of a scene whether you liked it or hated it I think it was a powerful emotion
inducing scene where Leia finally after all these years showed off the fact that
she has force powers the fact that she is a Skywalker she did an actual sky
walk I thought that was pretty epic just from a metaphorical perspective and I
think we need to get that version of her as we saw her on on the bridge of the
cruiser I think that exact outfit that exact hairstyle
that needs to be done and hopefully that will be covered in one of the third wave
sets that's yet to be released or announced on the first order side I feel
like we got a good selection given the total number of here's a good selection
of unnamed characters of just troops and you need lots and lots of troops and
that's always been the case through the the Star Wars movies you know there
there have been large masses of unnamed and practically faceless characters and
I think they've done a pretty good job just across the entire line including
bringing in plenty of variety so even to the point of having both Special Forces
and standard versions of TIE fighter pilots we get two drivers in this this
wave two walker drivers they all importance new executioner's which have
really good head prints on them but their weapons are questionable I'm not
personally certain there's a better solution for that for that execution
weapon given the limitations of Lego parts I mean you can build up something
that's fairly large that looks better but I think without doing a custom mold
for that I'm not sure they could have done something that kind of gets across
how that actually gets used better than this but that's that's totally just
personal opinion we got a couple of first orders snow troopers in the second
wave in the defense of crate set and I still feel that those were awkward to
include in that set given that that scene was fully mechanized assault there
weren't any first-order boots on the ground as far as I could tell until
after it was completely over and like I said after it was completely over saw
the movie saw them walking in behind this guy but during that assault again
it's one of those cases where you know sometimes you need to add in figures
they probably did and end up adding a good amount of play value for
kids who got that set a little bit more awkward inclusion in this line though
was a single flametrooper I I don't mind it though I don't think I
saw flame troopers in use unless Jedi please feel free to correct me if I if I
got that wrong or look for a comment that's already made the rounds if you're
watching this a little bit later but I like the the figure I like the design of
the flame troopers for the first order so I really don't mind getting that at
all and I think that kids will appreciate having that to play with and
anybody who didn't have an opportunity to collect one from from the force
awakens and wanted to get one now can and it was also very important to
include Darth Ball in this series I mean some people call
him db9 he but we all as true fans know that he is Darth Maul and he's the the
real the real force between the the darkside that has risen again in the
Star Wars universe so you've got two opportunities to get those and that was
very good for folks who want to have the epic the truly epic light versus dark
literal and figurative little battles there you know something else that's
missing from this selection it's a better collection of things between the
bad and the good I mean we get a pork and if you count the ucs Millennium
Falcon you get you know porks but what about you know some of the relatively
neutral characters you know Kanto bite was such an interesting location had a
lot of potential I do feel like the scene and the use of that location
didn't live up to its potential you know I feel like it just didn't have enough
aliens but there were some including the one that goes up to bb-8 and thinks he's
a slot machine i think that would have been a great inclusion in this series
and hopefully that guy will be made at some point if he's not made isn't
official Lego figure expects some some custom folks to to make some 3d printed
version of him or something like that da Bousquet was his name I don't know the
official pronunciation of it if there is one but yeah you know just some stuff
that's not purely good guys and purely bad guys would add a lot of flavor just
to the the new trilogy in general here's one last thing I've been looking forward
to offering up for you look at the current state of the last Jedi selection
and collection versus what we ended up getting for the force awakens now the
force awakens did benefit from a a longer period of releases so again this
collection over here will definitely be increasing in size as we get those final
sets and I would expect there to be one more decent size way with a few sets
maybe for something in that range for the last Jedi followed by maybe even a
couple more later on down the line in in 2018
that'll help fill things out a bit but it doesn't look like the last Jedi is
gonna catch up to the force awakens at all at least in terms of the
availability of different figures I'm not too surprised about that but here
are a lot of the the background side characters I guess they're mostly bad
you know if you look at it in that way but the type of characters that are
completely missing from this the sign of the board here you know the ones that
are not specifically resistance or first-order so hopefully that's what I'm
looking forward to the the most is seeing more of those guys over there in
addition to a Leia Skywalker but that's it for my look back at these figures for
now of course each figure is shown in greater detail including helmet off and
alternate faces and all in the individual reviews for each of these
sets and if you want to check out just the builds the actual structures and
vehicles and things that these figures came with I've done a separate kind of
retrospective video just covering the builds for the last
Jedi up to this point so thank you for watching hope that this had some useful

DIY HOLIDAY LIFE HACKS WITH HOT GLUE | PHONE CASE AND CHRISTMAS DECOR - Duration: 8:29.
Hi friends, this is Anna chi with you and today I'm gonna show you some cool ideas for the holiday season from hot glue. The first one will be a phone case.
We'll require a silicone mold for winter statuettes. Before the molds are filled, they must be lubricated with Vaseline. For the phone case, I chose the mold with gloves, winter cap and skis.
We will fill all these molds with hot glue and wait until it hardens.
After our statuettes are ready we'll start to paint them. I'm using the acrylic colors. I'm gonna paint the winter cap and gloves with white and red color and then I'll draw some small snowflakes on it
And the skis I'm gonna paint with yellow. Now, we need to prepare the phone case itself. Before we paint it, we'll process it with fine sandpaper. It's going to be a winter scenery on the phone case.
First I'm covering it with a couple of layers of light blue
After the background dries up, we place the finished statuettes on the phone case and make a small sketch.
I'm drawing snow mountains and tiny Christmas trees.
I'm using a pure white color and a bit of white with a blue tint
I'm drawing the Christmas trees in light and dark blue and not in green to create a truly winter atmosphere
Well you can also draw some small snowflakes.
Alright, the phone case is completely dried up. Now we can place the winter cap, gloves and skis and apply on them hot glue. The gloves can be joined together by a brown colored string.
Our phone case looks really cool and the composition on it resembles a small winter fairy tale. In this scenery, any statuette with a winter or the New Year theme will look absolutely great.
You can also make cool Christmas magnets for your fridge and its quite simple.
Well, I chose the Christmas mold with Santa and now I'm gonna fill it with the hot glue and wait until it hardens.
For our Santa I chose the standard colors.
The red one for his costume and gifts bag, white for his hair and beard, beige color for the face and hands and the black for his shoes.
I'm gonna also mark the outline of Santa so that he stands out. of course it's better to apply several layers of acrylic paint to make the colors more saturated.
Let's draw the eyes of our Santa.
Well, the other side of the statuette I'm gonna paint in black and stick a magnet on it and our fridge magnet is ready.
This Santa Cause fridge magnet looks pretty nice and definitely not worse than those that are sold in stores. The magnet for this you can simply take off from your old magnets that have spoiled, broken or which you simply don't like.
And what a Christmas can be without a Christmas tree and it can also be made from hot glue. We need a conical shape.
It can be a Styrofoam one or made of cardboard.
And in order to easily detach the hot glue, the cone needs to be wrapped in parchment paper.
Now around the cone we gonna apply the hot glue just that the lines are not going to be straight but like zig zag
Visually divide the Christmas tree into identical parts so that the gap between each circle is about a centimeter.
We need to apply exactly the same pattern again between each round to join all the parts so that our Christmas tree become solid and in order to make it even more magnificent, in exactly the same way you can apply a third layer
When the glue hardens, we remove the conical shape in order to decorate the Christmas tree.
First, I'm gonna cover it using Chrome spray paint then we'll make some Christmas toys.
For this, I'm gonna use a silicone mold for hemispheres of different diameters.
We fill the molds with hot glue and then when they are ready, we'll remove them and fill in more. We need a lot of toys.
So we gonna divide the toys into 4 identical parts to paint them in different colors. I'll use pearl shade acrylic paint in blue, yellow, red and green.
I chose exactly pearl shade paint for toys because on the background of our Christmas tree they will look really nice.
When the paint dries out, in a chaotic order we attach the toys with hot glue.
I'll decorate the top not with a star but with a small beautiful bow.
I don't know about you but personally I really like how our Christmas tree turned out. It looks unusual but very beautiful and modern.
To make a Christmas tree with hot glue is not at all difficult so if you decide to make yourself such a thing do it exactly the same way as I did. If you want, you can surely paint it in different color and make the toys without using silicone molds.
And the last thing we'll do today is the New Year's key chains. For them, I chose the shapes of a snowman, a bell, a Santa's hat.
We'll fill the shapes, and when the glue hardens, we'll paint the figurines. Santa's hat will be red and white. For the snowman, I chose red, black, white and orange for its nose.
For the bell I will use gold paint with a metallic tinge and red for the bow. On all the figurines it's better to apply the paint in several layers.
We gonna paint the other side as well.
After the paint dries, take the chain with the ring and attach it to the figurine with hot glue
Such Christmas key chains looks really cute. You can make it not only for yourself but for your close ones too, they are perfect for a small gift for the Christmas and New year.
