Like it or not, the holidays will inevitably end — and life will crash back into its
normal routines, with all its jobs and stress and winter chores.
"Always winterize your pipes."
So relax a little and enjoy some of Netflix's newest releases.
January sees the addition of some incredible new programming to ring in the New Year.
Here's what's in store for January 2018, starting with the Netflix originals.
Glacé: Season 1
If you liked the French show Les Revenants, you're bound to fall in love with Netflix's
newest French offering, Glacé.
Also known as The Frozen Dead in English, Glacé is set high in an isolated mountain
range, where a police officer stumbles across a small-town mystery that's been kept in the
dark for years.
Look for it January 1st.
Lovesick: Season 3
Considering that this show's original release title was Scrotal Recall, you can get a pretty
clear idea of what kind of humor to expect.
The story starts when Dylan finds out he has an STD and decides to visit every girl he's
been with to warn them about it.
"How've you been."
"I have chlamydia"
"Terrific!"
The show originally aired on the UK's Channel 4 in 2014, and Netflix began airing it as
an original with the second season.
Check out Season 3 of Lovesick when it drops on January 1st.
Before I Wake
Directed by Mike Flanagan, Before I Wake is about a couple's newly adopted son who has
the uncontrolled ability to manifest his dreams in the real world.
Haunted by real-life nightmares, the couple—played by Kate Bosworth and Tom Jane—have to figure
out why their little orphan boy is inadvertently unleashing his night terrors on the world.
Before I Wake was filmed in 2013, but the release date was continually pushed back until
the movie was dropped from Relativity's release schedule altogether.
Netflix acquired the film's international rights in 2017 and proceeded to release the
film everywhere except in the United States, but the wait is finally over.
Before I Wake will hit U.S. Netflix on January 5th...five years after it was made.
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee
Jerry Seinfeld's Emmy-award winning web series has been running since 2012, and it's making
the move to Netflix as part of Seinfeld's massive, jillion-dollar deal with the streaming
service.
Rebranded as a Netflix original, the series is about...well, exactly what it says on the
box: comedians hang out in a car, getting coffee.
Then, they talk about things, and it's hilarious.
If somehow you've missed this show over the years, you'll be able to catch up on every
episode on January 5, along with 24 brand new episodes available only on Netflix.
DEVILMAN crybaby: Season 1
An adaptation of one of the most violent, gratuitous mangas of the '70s, Devilman: Crybaby
is easily one of the most hotly anticipated anime releases of the new year.
The story centers on a boy who merges with a demon to become Devilman in the hopes of
stopping Hell from taking over the Earth.
In their review of the first three episodes, Anime-Now basically described the show as
a mature version of the Looney Tunes.
Buckle in for the ride on January 5th.
Rotten
This six-part documentary series dives into the global food industry to take a look at
modern farming practices and the impact they're having on the world.
Rotten promises to dig into corruption in agricultural businesses, food additives, and
all the other hot button food issues.
Whether it hits or misses, there's one thing you can count on: a ton of terrible Rotten
Tomatoes puns once the reviews start rolling in.
Check it out for yourself on January 5th.
Alejandro Riaño Especial de stand up
The first new comedy special to hit Netflix in the new year is Alejandro Riaño Especial
de stand up, which will see the Colombian comedian taking the stage to deliver his unique
brand of rapid-fire jokes.
Take a look on January 6th.
Disjointed: Part 2
The first season of Kathy Bates' stoner comedy Disjointed wasn't exactly a smoking success,
at least where critics were concerned.
The story centers on Ruth Feldman, a Los Angeles dispensary owner with a team of vaguely competent
"budtenders," one of whom is her own son.
The first ten episodes were released August 25th, and Netflix is set to roll out the rest
of the season on January 12, 2018.
Somebody Feed Phil
No, this isn't a resurgence of Viva la Bam.
Somebody Feed Phil is a travel and cooking show following Phil Rosenthal, the creator
of Everybody Loves Raymond and self-proclaimed foodie, as he travels around the world tasting
the best cuisine the planet has to offer.
Rosenthal is no stranger to culinary travels — he previously starred in the similar series
I'll Have What Phil's Having, which is also available on Netflix.
Check out Somebody Feed Phil on January 12th.
The Polka King
Based on the real life story of Jan Lewan, a polka personality who concocted a Ponzi
scheme that stole somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 million, The Polka King is a new Netflix
original film starring Jack Black.
The feature film draws from the 2009 documentary The Man Who Would Be Polka King, which is
also arriving on Netflix on January 12th.
You can't stop the polka.
Tom Segura: Disgraceful
Veteran stand-up comic and podcaster Tom Segura is arriving with an all-new special on January
12th, marking his third full-length special on Netflix.
If it's anything like Segura's other stand-up, Disgraceful will be full of his sharp wit,
low-key delivery, and completely irreverent topics.
Find out on January 12.
Katt Williams: Great America
Comic legend Katt Williams has been making audiences laugh since well before he became
a household name in 1999.
In 2018, he's still going strong.
His newest special, Great America, arrives on January 16.
Tiempos de guerra: Season 1
Translating to Times of War, Tiempos de guerra is an upcoming scripted Spanish series set
during the Spain-Morocco War of 1921.
The show show follows the nurses and doctors of a hospital tasked with treating wounded
soldiers, so get ready for lots of historical drama.
You can start watching on January 18th.
Grace and Frankie: Season 4
Over three seasons, viewers have been delighted by the escapades of Grace and Frankie, which
follows two women who find out that their husbands have been having an affair for the
past 20 years...with each other.
"Saul and I are in love."
"Excuse me?"
"You're gay?"
"We want to get married."
"Oh…"
"Married!?"
"Because we can do that now"
"I know!
I hosted the fundraiser."
Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda star as the leading ladies, with Sam Waterston and Charlie Sheen
as their ex-husbands.
Queue up Season 4 on January 19th.
The Open House
Not to be confused with the 2010 bomb Open House or the 1987 cult horror B-movie of the
same name, The Open House is a 2018 horror film about a mother and son who move into
a new house — only to find their lives threatened by mysterious forces.
The Open House sees yet another Netflix collaboration with actor Dylan Minnette, who also starred
in 13 Reasons Why.
The Open House, well, opens on January 19th.
Todd Glass: Act Happy
Todd Glass entered the national consciousness with his appearances on NBC's reality show
Last Comic Standing, and he's since gone on to make a name for himself as one of the funniest
comedians in the business.
Look for his newest special, Act Happy, on January 23.
Ricardo Quevedo: Hay gente así
Netflix has been loading up on foreign acquisitions lately, and 2018 will see a wave of new multilingual
comedians like Ricardo Quevado, a Colombian native who was featured on Comedy Central's
Stand-Up Without Borders.
Now, he's hitting Netflix with Hay gente así.
Check it out on January 24.
A Futile and Stupid Gesture
National Lampoon gave us such comedy gems as Animal House and Vacation, along with more
questionable gems like, uh, everything else they made.
"Get ready for… Van Wilder: Freshman year."
But there's no doubt the magazine and its films have made a lasting mark on popular
culture.
That's the angle of A Futile and Stupid Gesture, a film about the early days of the national
sensation and its eventual downfall.
Check it out on January 26.
Dirty Money
Along with their food exposé Rotten, Netflix is also releasing a documentary investigation
into the world's largest corporations.
Created by Alex Gibney, who won an Oscar for his documentary Taxi to the Dark Side, Dirty
Money will be an episodic series with multiple documentarians taking the helm for different
episodes.
Take a look on January 26th.
One Day at a Time: Season 2
Loosely based on the series of the same name that first aired in 1975, One Day at a Time
follows a family with three generations living under the same roof as they try to make their
lives work.
Following solid reviews for the first season, released in 2017, Netflix announced plans
to release a second season in 2018.
All 13 new episodes drop on January 26.
Babylon Berlin: Seasons 1 & 2
Set in the 1920s, this German-language drama follows a police commissioner who's transferred
to Berlin to investigate the Russian mafia.
Touted as the most expensive German show ever produced, Babylon Berlin enjoyed strong ratings
in Germany, and Netflix secured the US distribution rights well before the first episode aired.
Both seasons will drop on Netflix on January 30.
That covers all the Netflix originals.
Now let's take a look at everything else arriving on Netflix in January 2018.
New movies
Oscar season arrives early on Netflix, with multiple award-winners and nominees slated
to land on the service in January 2018.
On the first of the month, look out for dramas such as The Godfather trilogy, The Shawshank
Redemption, Midnight in Paris, and Training Day.
"King Kong ain't got s--- on me."
On the action front, the first of the year also sees the addition of most of the Batman
films, starting with 1989's Batman all the way to 2005's Batman Begins.
Yup, even Batman & Robin.
"If I must suffer, humanity will suffer with me."
Plus, go ahead and let that holiday spirit linger a little longer with the second best
Christmas movie written by Shane Black — Lethal Weapon and all its sequels land on January
1st.
In the same spirit, Christmas may be over, but there's never a bad time of year to experience
the ups and downs of Richard Curtis' modern classic Love Actually.
That arrives on Netflix on January 1st, along with other comedies like Wedding Crashers,
Caddyshack, and the Bring It On pentology.
Yeah, they made five of those.
If you're making it a resolution to watch more documentaries in 2018, Netflix as you
covered there too.
The first of the month sees the addition of 2017 documentaries like AlphaGo, Maddman:
The Steve Madden Story, and Martin Luther: The Idea that Changed the World.
Netflix's kids' line-up is geared toward the whole family this January.
"The suspense is terrible.
I hope it'll last."
New Year's Day heralds the addition of the 1971 classic Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory,
along with 2007's Stardust, based on the Neil Gaiman novel of the same name.
And on the 31st, Disney/Pixar's Cars 3 will be available for streaming.
Finally, the weather won't be the only thing giving you chills this January.
Netflix is adding a handful of thrillers to their service as 2018 rolls through the door,
including 30 Days of Night, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and Peter Jackson's slow-burning
The Lovely Bones on the first of the month.
As January continues, you can look forward to The Conjuring on the 8th and the 2017 shark-fest
47 Meters Down on the 10th.
New television
While most of Netflix's new television offerings in January will be Netflix originals, you'll
still be able to find new seasons of some shows.
Highlights include Season 3 of Eastsiders on the 1st, all five seasons of Episodes on
January 6th, and Season 2 of Colony on the 12th.
Also, keep an eye out for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games Preview on January 15, and Season
4 of Friday Night Tykes on the 17th.
Finally, January 28th heralds the arrival of The Ministry of Time, a Spanish language
time-travel adventure series.
No matter what you're in the mood to watch this January, you're bound to find something.

Things In The Lost Boys You Only Notice As An Adult - Duration: 4:19.
The beach.
Motorcycles.
Leather jackets and sunglasses.
And of course, vampires.
These are just a few of the pieces that make up the late '80s majesty of The Lost Boys.
With an all-star cast, this teen horror thriller secured a permanent space in the hall of cult
classics.
If it's been a long time since you've seen it, here are some things about The Lost Boys
that you only notice as an adult.
Warning: spoilers ahead.
Peter Pan
It's pretty obvious to adults that The Lost Boys is based on Peter Pan.
For one, the title itself refers to characters from the original play and subsequent adaptations.
If you're a kid, though, you might not notice the connection because the director, Joel
Schumacher made changes to the screenplay to give it a more seductive tone.
He told The Telegraph that he made the vampires older and more attractive, in an effort to
avoid making a, "The Goonies go vampire" film.
So while the lost boys of the film may be closer to men, they'll still never grow up
or grow old.
Good cover
Back in the '80s — before Netflix, of course — you were at the mercy of your local video
store, and to set up an account, you often had to provide a copy of your driver's license.
That means the owner of the shop would have access to a lot of personal information, including
where you live.
So it's not surprising that Max chose that profession for himself as the perfect cover
while targeting people.
You might not put that together as a kid, but it's hard to miss as an adult.
Trust no one.
"I told you not to come in here anymore."
Dealing with divorce
Studies suggest that 40 to 50 percent of American couples will go through a divorce in their
lifetime.
The Lost Boys realistically handles the subject in a subtle exchange between Lucy and her
father when they first arrive in Santa Carla.
"You're the only woman I ever knew who didn't improve her situation by getting divorced."
"A big legal battle wasn't gonna improve anybody's situation."
Lucy clearly isn't getting much support in the form of alimony, but she walked away just
to have a clean break.
It's addressed again when Max assures Sam that he's not trying to replace his father
during the dinner scene.
It's all handled in a very real, adult way.
Stalker tendencies
Michael may not be the villain in the film, but he certainly has a creepy streak.
This is most evident in his pursuit of Star, who catches his attention while dancing during
the iconic "I Still Believe" scene.
He stares at her pointedly, not looking away until she acknowledges his gaze.
When she eventually turns and leaves, he follows her out of the venue... and it's honestly
really creepy.
Don't take romance advice from '80s movies.
White-washed
The fictional city of Santa Carla is apparently quite white, as all of the lead actors in
The Lost Boys are Caucasian.
Some minorities were cast in smaller roles, which is evident during the "People Are Strange"
montage.
Additionally, the host who lets Lucy use the restaurant phone is black.
But Santa Cruz, the city Santa Carla was based on, shows a little more diversity in the demographic
data from the 1980s and 1990s than that, making a case for at least 20% of the population
to be people of color.
It's not surprising that this didn't happen though, as Hollywood clearly has had a pretty
severe diversity problem for a long time.
In addition to a lack of racial equality, there's not a lot of gender diversity in film
either.
Sure, it's called The Lost BOYS, but in order to for a movie to pass the Bechdel Test, there
are three criteria: 1.
The film has to have at least two named women in it, 2.
They must talk to each other, and 3.
They have to talk about something besides a man.
Unfortunately, The Lost Boys majorly fails.
The two female lead characters, Lucy and Star, never have a conversation with each other.
And since they never speak, the third rule doesn't even apply.
Some folks have argued that Lucy asks Star who she is at the end, but that's not what
was said.
She actually says:
"Who's this?"
...which is even worse.
She asked the entire room, instead of asking Star herself.
Gang initiation
David and the other vampires put Michael through a hazing so intense that it could qualify
as a gang initiation.
When the vampires descend on a group of Surf Nazis and go on a bloody spree, Michael is
expected to participate.
Doing so would make him a full vampire, as well as an official member of their tribe.
But Michael holds back, never fully joining the gang.
"Feeding time!
Come and get it, boys."

Cirque Like You've NEVER Seen Before... ON ICE! | The World of CRYSTAL | Cirque du Soleil - Duration: 5:42.
Guys,
look at this!
It's snowing!
Why is it so warm in here?
Welcome to The World of!
Hey, guys.
It's Matthew Rodrigues.
It's so cold in here.
Because today,
we are going to be hitting the ice
and taking you in The World of Crystal,
a breakthrough ice experience.
Cirque du Soleil carves electrifying moments,
breathtaking artistry
and its unique creativity into the ice
in their most innovative spectacular yet.
Get ready for world-class ice skating,
surreal aesthetics
and artistic prowess
all fused together—
more like frozen together.
A young woman is at the center of it all.
She shatters through reality
to reach the surreal world of possibility.
Just beyond the surface,
she pursues the life that has been glistening beneath.
She teaches all of us
that we must first leave solid ground
to find our true footing.
Now it's time for Fun Facts!
Or cold facts…
- Hey! - Hello.
- Hello. - How are you?
I'm good. I'm good.
This is very exciting,
because you're working on the newest show
in the Cirque du Soleil family.
- Yes. - Crystal.
Really, really brand new.
And,
I mean, doing a show on ice
is not usual
for me or anyone in Cirque.
Right. So tell me:
What was your reaction when you heard,
"OK, we're doing all the fun things that we do in Cirque du Soleil,
but now we're adding ice."
Were you, like, "No, I'm out. I'm not doing it"?
No, no, no. I was excited.
And I wasn't that surprised,
because the Directors,
Sébastien Soldevila and Shana Caroll,
which I've worked on another show,
I knew how far they can go in their mind,
and I was just excited to say,
"OK, now, we have a lot, a lot of challenges."
If you aren't a great ice skater—
I don't mean to, like, call you out—
but how can you teach someone else what to do?
Well, that's exactly why they came to,
you know, to change the vocabulary.
Oh, yeah.
It's not to have just a skating show;
to have something different.
That makes sense.
So you won't look at it in a different way.
You won't look at it like a typical…
… choreographer for someone who's doing the Olympics.
No. We have to go far away from there.
And I do know how acrobats and dancers
work with their bodies,
and now we just have to push them,
the skaters, to go further.
We do have amazing people,
skaters, you know,
specialists with us.
So they're going to be able to tell me, you know,
"Yes, you can do that."
Yeah.
"No, you cannot,"
or "It's going to be harder for the porté"
or whatever.
But that's why we have to innovate.
We have to go further than
what we've seen on TV
and what we used to see on ice.
This is a new show.
What can you tell people about it? What can they expect?
I don't know. It's something magical.
It has to be open-minded to go and see the show.
Because if they expect to see
an Olympic traditional performance,
it's not going to be that,
and it's not circus.
It's all, you know, all mixed.
Would you say this is one of the biggest changes
that Cirque has seen in a long time?
To the way they perform and…
Well, for sure it is. It is a big one.
And we did a lot of workshop,
and it was really surprising,
because we kind of expected somebody reaction to ice
or the way we're working.
You know, the needs are not the same,
and it's really surprising.
Are you a better skater now that you've worked with this show?
- A little bit. - OK.
I want you to prove it.
We've got ice. Bring out the ice!
Bring it out!
- Thank you so much. - Thank you.
Here's one of our favorite acts.
I bet it has something to do with ice skating.
Thank you so much for watching
this episode of The World of.
Next week's episode,
we'll enter the kingdom of pop
for Michael Jackson ONE.
As always, click here

Why Jerusalem can make or break peace between Israelis and Palestinians - Duration: 4:49.
When President Trump announced his plans to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv
to Jerusalem, "It is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of
Israel." he reversed decades of consensus about the status of Jerusalem. The
announcement sparked massive protests among Palestinians and throughout the
Muslim world. Here are five things to know about Jerusalem and why it's so contentious.
Israel has controlled West Jerusalem since 1949. During the Six-Day
War Israel captured East Jerusalem and annexed that half of the city, but the
international community considers East Jerusalem occupied territory. In 1980
after Israel passed a law declaring a united Jerusalem their capital, the
United Nations condemned the annexation. Palestinians want to divide the city and
make East Jerusalem the capital of a future Palestinian state, while Israelis
want a unified Jerusalem to be their capital.
During peace process negotiations for the Oslo Accords, the issue of Jerusalem was initially set
aside to avoid derailing the talks. In 2000, during a new round of negotiations,
talks were upended when the leaders of Palestine and Israel disputed who would
control the maze of tunnels under Jerusalem.
Control of Jerusalem has been a trigger
for violence many times in the past. The contested area of East Jerusalem is home
to some of the holiest sites in the world
for Jews and Muslims. It is the site where Judaism's two sacred temples once
stood and the site where the Prophet Mohammed ascended to heaven. The trouble
is that the sites for Muslims and Jews exist on the same land. There's a
precarious power share in place: Israeli officials control who has access to the
complex, but Muslims have religious control inside.
Jews can enter but, aren't allowed to pray. Instead, they use the Western Wall.
The Second Intifada began in 2000 when then-opposition leader Ariel Sharon
visited the Temple Mount, to assert Israel's right to the complex.
Palestinians protested and were met with tear gas and rubber bullets. The violence
lasted five years and killed over 3,000 Palestinians and nearly 1,000 Israelis,
with thousands more wounded. More recently, Israel set up metal
detectors to enter the complex, which Palestinians say restricted access to
the holy site, sparking a new round of protests and violence.
In the early '70s sixteen countries had
embassies including the Netherlands, Costa Rica, Colombia, but after the UN
Security Council condemned the annexation of East Jerusalem in 1980,
member states left. Now Jerusalem only has consulates - the U.S. would be the first
country to have an embassy back in the city.
Though Congress passed a law to
relocate the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem more than 20 years ago, the law includes
a loophole that allows the president to delay the relocation for the sake of
national security. Every sitting president, Clinton, Bush,
Obama, has used this power and signed the waiver every six months. President Trump
signed the waiver in June 2017 and again in December 2017, but also signaled he
would begin the process of moving the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
President Trump was careful not to call Jerusalem the undivided capital of
Israel, but opposition to Trump's declarations and the proposed embassy
move grows. Muslim countries worldwide urge the recognition of East Jerusalem
as the capital of a future Palestinian state. In Jerusalem, tensions are higher
than usual. Palestinian militant group Hamas has started launching rockets into
Israel from Gaza and calling for a third Intifada.
Israel has arrested Palestinians and is clamping down on protests and as lines
are drawn and the fight for Jerusalem intensifies, the future of
israeli-palestinian stability is once again at risk.

How to Remove Makeup | Nadia Khan Guides on Cleansing | Skincare Tips | Konjac Sponge | Outstyle.com - Duration: 20:25.
Subscribe to our channel & click on the bell icon to never miss a video from Outstyle
Hello, & welcome back to my channel.
Lets Cleanse Guys!
It's very important that you should keep your environment clean
It is very important that you should properly cleanse your face
Today's Video is the most requested segment
Where you have been asking me, What is my cleansing routine?
How do I remove my makeup?
Which products do I use?
How do I prep my skin before makeup?
So today we will talk about cleansing
There are different types of cleansing routines
One is to get rid of daily pollution, dust that settles on your skin, for that Mild cleansing is fine
and other is makeup removing cleansing regime!
There is a lot makeup, that I have to remove properly
When I was a teenager, someone told me few things
At the age of 13, I got my first pay cheque
Somebody told me two things, and I stick to it.
First, Always remove your makeup before going to bed
Secondly, Always use hot water. Not even boiling water or warm water, in between
Now what is the issues of using wipes
I think wipes doesn't remove your makeup
They are harsh on your skin
Wipes are very expensive
And lastly, they doesn't remove anything
And one more thing Wipes are cold.
I have stopped using makeup removing wipes.
Maybe this would help, if you have acne, allergy and you thing you are not following the right cleansing regime.
You can try what I do. and you will see a difference
I'm sure of that
I used wipes, then I didn't liked them
And then I switched to these normal sponges
These sponges are very reasonable, very cheap
There was a problem that I faced while using them, that is they are harsh
You can never use these sponges on your eyes
My checks are very skin, extremely red and easily irritated
We will talk about the best way we can do manually
And then I came a crossed Konjac sponge
Yes Konjac Sponge is made up of Konjac Plant roots
It has many properties, it absorbs water
This is what it looks like
I got this from Sephora
There are available in different colors
Charcoal properties are good for your acne
I'll remove it from the packaging
It's hard and small in the beginning, when you'll remove it from the packaging
It is very rough and hard!
But you are not suppose to use it directly
Keep it in Hot water not boiling.
I need hot water direct from the tap
In this hot water, I'll dip my konjac sponge
For the first time, we will soak it for 15 minutes.
After 4 to 6 weeks you need to change the konjac sponge
Once it's ready, its safe for your face
I have original white sponge, that is made from the plant root of konjac
While it's getting ready, there are two ways
One thing that you need to do is, prep your face for that I need my OMG
When It will be soaked properly in water, it will increase its size
Now I'll tell you what kind of cleansers do I use
This is a very reasonable cleanser
This is a skin o2
I like this cleanser
when you apply it, there is a tingling sort of feeling
You can directly apply it to the sponge and then apply it on to your face
The lipstick and eye make up take a lot time to dissolve
If I'm wearing this red Stunna fenty beauty lip paint, do you think it will take of so easily.
How do you like this?
This joker look, is just for time been
You need some time for your eye make up to dissolve.
The first thing that you will do is remove your eye makeup
I'm against these water proof mascaras
You should not go for water proof mascaras, instead go for good quality mascaras
Unless its your wedding
I use Kiko mascara, and that i quite reasonable
I'm using Sephora waterproof eye makeup remover
I Love it, you need to shake it before using it
You need to use it on your eyelashes first
You can directly apply it by using your fingers
I know you enjoy my conversation
Very nicely, gentle massage on your eye lashes
What is this? What is happening with me?
Please get rid of this red lipstick
First yo take it off by this, and then you can use your sponge
Lets see whether my eyes are soft
I'm gently massaging. I'm not pulling them off
I'll remove it with my konjac sponge, I'll not recommend any other sponge
It's very cute
It's soft, silky and smooth
That's good for acne treatment
It's very gentle on the skin, that is what I love about it
This was one way of using it.
With firm hands, gently massage on the face.

A ROUND OF GWENT | Holiday Special - Duration: 22:54.
More cards than ever before! Cards here, cards there...
We can have bigger expansions, we can add more factions...
Happy holidays!
A ROUND OF GWENT
Hi everybody and welcome to episode 5 of A ROUND OF GWENT!
This is a very special episode, it being the holiday time of the year
so we are all feeling a little bit nostalgic
and in this episode we are going to be talking about how GWENT has evolved
from its beginnings back in Closed Beta
and what we are looking forward to over the next year.
As always, I am joined by co-host Paweł Burza.
Hey guys!
Today we have two very special guests for you - we are joined by Jason Slama,
Hey guys.
who is a Lead... Gwenteener?
That's right!
And we also have Swim, whom I'm sure many of you know as well.
Yeah.
How are you guys today?
Can you tell us a little bit about who you are and your role within GWENT.
I was the programmer behind The Witcher 3 version of GWENT
and I was also the person who started the actual GWENT standalone project,
so I started the code and everything, I've been on for a pretty long time now.
And then Swim, what's your role within GWENT community?
I'm a professional card boy - I play GWENT and people watch me.
Sometimes.
Well, that's beautiful.
So we've seen many changes this past year, how have you guys found those?
From my point of view, I'm just trying to make sure we keep it all together,
keep it working and releasing.
Come on guys, keep it together!
I'm superproud that we managed to actually pull off every single patch
without any apocalyptic disasters.
I'm really happy with the direction it took, that saying from a perspective
that many of these changes, when I first saw them, I was like uuuuu.
You know, I come from the background of having worked on the original, and I'm like...
Uhm, but it's so... it's different.
But ultimately, I'm superproud and happy of the direction we took
and I see the value of it.
I honestly couldn't agree more.
People really don't like change because it's different and they have to get used to it,
but to me GWENT is a game that was just born from this mini-game state,
and I think it's imperative for the future of the game
that you guys are doing what you're doing
and making these changes to make it just a better format for the multiplayer.
Yeah, for sure those changes that we knew very easily to make,
but there are others that thankfully calmer, wiser minds
have pushed us into making the right decisions.
It's hard, because even the best designers will have that experience that you had -
they will look at the change and be like "Ah, this feels weird!"
but that's the thing - you need to make those decisions
and I'm really glad you guys are doing them.
Some of the big changes that we've seen
include a change to remove faction passives.
That one was not hard to argue about, no one felt it was right.
That was easy!
That was the easy one.
And then we've seen the changes to weather,
which used to set everything on a row to 1,
can you imagine that being in the game currently?
No, no.
Weather used to be row-locked, we've seen the lack of Gold immunity now.
Some massive things.
That's a hard one!
Yeah, the Gold immunity was the scary one for me because I'm like
well, all these cards work because you know they can't be copied, resurrected,
combo-ed, and all of a sudden you're like "oh well...".
How have you found this being on the forefront of the community?
For me, like you mentioned - when I first hear about a change, I react the same,
Oh my god, what's going to happen, this is going to change the whole game!
What are you guys doing?!
But then I pretty much sit down with Luigi, Rethaz and the guys and I'm like
hey, tell me a little bit more, what's the idea behind it,
and they always reason it so nicely, and it actually makes sense.
I have to myself think how I should then communicate it to the players,
like we do a developers stream, go one by one, and say:
Okay, we are doing this because A, B and C.
And all these changes they were really big, especially the recent one,
with the new tech update and how the game works right now,
it's also a big change and I know that players at first react like
Oh my god, I have to learn everything once again!
It's like a blessing and a curse, but it comes from us moving from
very simple card game which was in The Witcher 3 with limited abilities.
With 2 power Ghoul.
To something that needs to be competitive, needs to be balanced, so it's difficult.
That you can grow on, keep adding content to.
Overall, the feedback and me working with the community is just great,
it's been a great year.
I would finish off by saying that 2017
was a year of us trying to keep content out there,
trying to get players exposed, getting their feedback,
while taking a step back and building the technologies,
from gameplay to the weather UI, to how the cards work.
So many things that you guys don't see, and it slowed us down a bit,
but they are all things that are preparing us to have an amazing 2018.
Yeah, definitely.
Also some of the changes we've seen, have obviously been, as we said,
coming from a relatively restricted singleplayer game,
moving it into a game which can now be fully realized and expanded
with many new cards in the future,
so you've been really opening up the design space,
laying the foundations this year.
So let's look forward to next year, we have lots in store in the coming year.
More cards than ever before! Cards here, cards there...
Cards under the table, cards behind my ear... cards everywhere!
In a good way!
Not just cards for cards, awesome cards!
Which is good because it open possibilities for leaking stuff
which is my number 1 job.
"I need more leaks, Kasia - make me a bigger leak!"
Pretty much like you said, it opens possibilities
and I think it's what we needed to have down - the base, and the core of the game.
Also, when it comes to card expansions, now we can do a little bit more -
we can have bigger expansions, we can add more factions,
we can work on a new game mode - because we have the foundation,
so we're building on the foundation.
Definitely the new game mode, I think that's going to change things quite a bit,
I think a lot of people are going to enjoy it, I'm looking forward to it.
I'm not going to play anything else!
"That's it, I'm now an arena man!"
Really tho, when it's out,
I'm sure a lot of people are going to play it for the first 3 days.
I'm in that camp, but I'm not going to stop.
This is going to be my life now. That's how I plan on spending the rest of my 20s.
I can see the thumbleweeds rolling through the ladder.
Yeah, nobody's playing in the ladder, everybody is drafting like crazy.
It's fantastic, there is a lot for us to be looking forward to for sure.
There is the changes we did to the deck picker, the match setup,
the card picker for the mulligan,
you see how those reached a level of quality in our visuals and our UI,
that we didn't have before, and you can expect a lot more of that next year.
Pretty much this is the benchmark when it comes to something
that we want to do to different things.
This update was really our kick-off point for an aggressive transition from Beta.
Aggressive!
We really wanted to get things going, and get the game off
with more steady releases and more significant next year.
It's not an easy thing to do!
The community definitely have faith in you guys,
all of the changes we've seen so far have been fully long-term good,
I think we can all see that with hindsight -
all of the big changes have definitely improved the game
so I personally have a lot of faith in what you're guys doing,
and I'm sure it will go... swimmingly.
Swimmingly - nice! I like that.
Pun intended.
Why are you called Swim anyway?? I never knew.
Oh, it's funny you should mention that.
When I was like... god, I don't remember how old - 3 or 4,
I carried around this little stuffed crocodile everywhere,
and I would call it Swim, because it was one of the 10 words I knew I guess.
Cause you swam here from North America...
I don't even know how to swim, I have the doggy paddle down.
Good, good!
You can just lay and float, like a starfish.
That's the second one I know!
That's how you're going back, right?
Just the wind blowing in the back.
Okay, so we've touched on the things that are going to come,
and we've talked a little bit about the big changes which have happened,
but since it's the end of the year,
we want to wrap up all the things we've seen this year,
I want to ask you a little bit about
what have your favourite things been this year so far.
For me, the biggest thing will be the recent update, of course.
And I say it because it's not the recent thing so it's the easiest to take but I think
the game improves so much and the whole core opened up so many possibilities,
and I know a lot of work from the team went into it and it was crazy,
even from the designers' standpoint where they had to rework every card,
and to make it more simple, flow a little bit better.
To be fair, they could make each card faster than before.
We didn't tell them
"hey, your work is garbage, but here, you can do it again and faster".
Yeah, I know, but it pretty much opened up more posibilities
and made the game smoother, especially when it comes to triggers and priorities,
to make it all go super smoothly.
And for me it's the biggest game-changer for the game.
Yeah, it's the little things that improve the quality of life.
For me personally, I really enjoyed the events which have come this year,
so the Mahakam Ale Festival, and the Halloween event.
Oh yeah, those are fun.
Halloween event was great!
Difficult sometimes.
We've seen a little taste of the new game modes and the puzzles,
and this new way to present GWENT in a different format from what we're used to.
Kinda shows where we can go with it.
Exactly, it really shows that GWENT has a potential
in a way other than the standard game which we know,
so I'm very excited to see what puzzles we have in the future,
and other ways to play GWENT.
I was always hooked on those puzzle formats, like from other games,
I'm really glad you guys are going in that direction.
So many cool things happened this year, but if we are talking about GWENT,
it was the Challenger.
Mostly dev team had to stay in and work on a version,
I was on a maternity leave.
The first one, right?
Yeah, the first one, the second one was also pretty spectacular,
you guys liked it, right?
Yeah, it was awesome.
But the first one, because I got to go, for shortly -
my wife called me back home few hours after I got there, but it's fine,
it's to be expected, and you know - you work on a project for so long,
you work on GWENT, you put all this energy, all this heart into it,
and it's easy to lose track of how it feels,
and then you come into this studio, with these high quality props everywhere,
and all these casters ready to shout your game out and show it off, and it's like
Oh my god, this is my work being shown off here,
and they are like "hey, do you want to go on stage and present it?"
Yeah yeah, no problem!
Wait, let's see... crown - got it, some flags - let's just go and wave around,
I don't care if I look like an idiot.
That was actually really cool!
Like a proud parent.
Yeah, it's just I had so much positive energy, I just wanted to spread it with the world
and that's something that is not easy to forget.
It was genuine, and that's the most important thing,
it was genuine and it looked really cool.
I harken back to the days of early Closed Beta,
it's hard to even remember that, it was 14 months ago.
Good old days.
Where did this time go?
Back in those days, there were tons of crazy combos you could do,
like do you guys remember like the old poor infantry interactions,
and even that took several iterations.
Those couldn't stay there.
Promote!
Promote, Mardroeme as well!
Crazy combo decks you could do,
I myself had one that thankfully I didn't publish
but I had one with Margerita and just Promoting four times.
I used to Promote twice as many units as before,
there was a little animation every time,
so I built this deck that caused this 20 minutes animation
in hopes that my opponent would get bored and conceed.
How often did that work?
It worked twice.
And it crashed the other times, right?
Cause we have to somehow support all these cards spawning
on both your and your opponent's PC...
To be honest, the reason why it only worked twice
it's because I got bored and stopped playing it.
It worked in reverse.
I remember streamers trying to beat their records,
going like every day or every week "new record!!!",
thousands and thousands of points, and I was like
Jesus, this needs to stop!
We never planned on having a 17-digits score...
How is that even possible?! What are you doing?!
I was one of those streamers!
So you're a big fan of this anarchy that existed back in the early form of GWENT.
Well, honestly I'm not so much of a fan of it,
because in retrospect, it's great but it's a bit of a nostalgia,
I think the transition from that to now reflects a great transition for GWENT,
which is a transition from a more gimmicky,
maybe not unlike a certain unnamed game...
Shots fired!!!
But to more like a competitive strategy game,
a really great direction for the game to go in.
I feel like I would love it if there were to be a legacy server,
where we could go back and enjoy the chaos.
Vanilla GWENT!
We have enough things to do right now, no no no no!
Jason is like "NO NO NO, I don't want to go back!"
That's fantastic, it's nice to hear everyone has highlights from this year,
we've all been on this journey together,
but now we're going to go and have look at some of these cards in our collection
with our favourite crazy old man - Adalbert.
All right guys, "Beyond the Frame" episode 2 - let's go!
Salutations!
You term yourself Gwenters, Gwentlemen, Gwenches,
you spend hours laying them out, slapping them down,
flipping them at the moment most opportune.
So you think you know all there is to know about the cards
but you do not know what lies beyond them
so I am here to tell you, to tell you what lies Beyond the Frame.
BEYOND THE FRAME
Creation - I've spoken a bit before, it's triumphs, it's foibles,
it's of puzzling discoveries.
And the creators - they toil, they're wandering in search of something
that is stellar and true, that others might deign to enjoy.
Or even admire.
Our first card - the Rotfiend.
A creature most repugnant, resembling a human child stripped off its skin.
The devourer, the most dangerous variety in the species
with an insatiable appetite for decomposing flesh.
I wish to show you the initial image put forth by the card's creator.
Think of the mind that spawned this image. These are my captors!
Onto our second piece!
The Navigator of the Wild Hunt, a retinue of wraiths upon skeletal horses
galloping across the skies. The common folk call it "an omen of war".
In fact, elves from another dimention.
At any rate - warriors, tall, imposing, weilding compensatorily large weapons.
And the long, shiny, flaxy hair.
Well, it could indicate any one of the species, you never know with their kind.
But the voice leaves no doubt, for the artist of this card
was intent to show the Wild Hunt ranks include proud female elves
and cast them in the role of the retinue's navigators.
No doubt, due to their superior sense of direction.
And last - Assire var Anahid.
A sorceress of Nilfgaard, a founding member of the infamous Lodge,
a maiden most martial, who supported every territory-hungry campaign,
waged by Emhyr var Emreis.
Sounds impressive, doesn't it?
Well, we speak of a cat lady, as evidenced by the card.
The feline she cradles is non other than Merlin (a very original name).
The artist who created the card was equally enamored
of these egotistical little beasts
and depicted Assire having opened the portal
from which the spirits of cats emerge.
A veritable catastrophe, if you ask me.
There you have them, Gwenters, one and all!
Three examples of creative minds at work.
Join me next time for more... thoughts.
BEYOND THE FRAME
So, it's great to hear from Adalbert,
it's always nice to hear a little bit more about the cards, learn a bit more.
I love this character!
And we're learning the lore, it's the perfect combination.
That thing about Rotfiend - it's really interesting, I didn't know that.
Me neither.
Like we said earlier at some point, the artwork has been done quite a long time ago,
and we don't use it all right away, I remember seeing the Rotfiend
before even the Closed Beta, and we were like... uhm...
I'm not sure...
Is this PEGI 12?!
Let's choose a different card for that right now, and we'll figure it out later.
Now we're going to move over to our Community Corner,
where we are going to see fantastic creations
which our very talented community produce, so over to Burza.
First entry is my favourite leek!
This leek plushie was made by Kasia Redesiuk, I really love this one.
I've kept it for such a long time, it already got a bit used and dirty,
but I know she's making a new one, a bigger one!
Which I can use as a weapon...
Duel of the leeks!
And she is the Art Director for GWENT,
as you can see it has a little awesome GWENT logo here.
I really love this thing.
It's really cool.
It's a good time to actually show it off finally, so here it is.
Moving on, the second entry is... a meme, of course.
I love memes, Swim - do you love memes?
I consider myself a bit of a meme connoisseur, Burza.
You mean like certain flavours of memes.
Delicious memes!
This one pretty much showcases my life -
where has my time gone?
Swim, how many hours do you have in GWENT, I was going to ask you?
Almost 4000...
WHAT?!
And I thought I had a lot... and I have only 400 hours...
Well spent 20s, honestly.
This one is by Joost ten Hengel.
Next one up is Ciri, Ciri playing cards and moving through time,
and as you can see, she's kinda cheating.
She kinda redefines slave trick... just teleport.
Yeah, just teleport, take some cards, teleport back, play them - easy.
Don't play against Ciri, she cheats.
I really love that artwork of Ciri, it reminds me of the cinematic,
when the Nilfgaardians come in to the tavern when they're playing GWENT.
Oh yeah! That was really cool.
And she just dashes away.
Yeah, dashes away, it's really cool.
This one is by RedBakhmutov.
I think I got that one right.
And now we have Lambert, this one I actually saw on Reddit
by user themusingman, or The Music Man in this case
because he is playing a keyboard, and he has Keira in the back playing the drums.
So it's The Battle of Kaer Morhen: The Concert.
Coming soon?
Sounds like a cool concert name actually!
Battle of Kaer Morhen, dum dum dum!
That's what I call... GLAMBERT.
Nice... nailed it.
And everybody is like...
That was actually good!
Yeah, I love the attention to detail in that last one.
It's pretty impressive, and it's a really well edited version as well.
It's great for April's Fools, totally should be in the game.
All right guys, and as always - please remember to send us your Plays of the Month,
just go to playgwent.com/POTM and send them over,
we'll judge them, we'll see them, we'll send you the prizes,
and if you win, you will be showcased in the next episode.
It's amazing to see some of the beautiful creations that community come up with,
You know, since it's this time of the year that it is,
do we have anything that we want to say back to the community?
Maybe we'll start with you Burza, for any words that you have.
Thank you guys, this was a very wonderful year,
you've been very supportive of us, you've been sending your feedback,
contacting me, inviting me for interviews which was really really great,
it's just been awesome, it's the holiday season
so what I wanted to do is to wish you all the best,
wish all the best to all your family, beloved, your friends,
and you know - stay strong with us, we'll be doing more awesome stuff,
and I'm just looking forward to 2018!
Yeah, I also wanted to say a huge thank you to the community,
the support has been incredible,
I'm honestly just so humbled by all the support I've had,
and I feel like I'm involved with the community,
deep in the trenches of the community,
and being able to take part in the events such as all of the GWENT Slams,
which I've been hosting, and also being here on A ROUND OF GWENT,
it's been incredible and thank you so much for giving me this opportunity
and I hope we can have a fantastic 2018 together in the GWENT world.
I wanna take a second to thank the families of all the developers
who worked so hard to make GWENT happen - thank you for supporting us,
I'd like to say thank you to my lovely wife, Marta - I love you,
I wanna say thank you to everyone
who has helped support everyone working on this project,
making it possible to do, to pull it off.
It's not easy to put all our energy in there, and thank you all for supporting us
in acomplishing our goals this year.
Never stop net-decking.
NO! No, no, no.
Nice trigger!
Guys, you are wonderful individuals, you are awesome, you are great -
do not net-deck.
You're smart, you're independent, intelligent - you don't need to net-deck.
You have so many new cards now, you can just play, do your own thing,
brew, don't worry about it.
Beautiful, unique butterflies.
Yes, unique butterflies - exactly.
You guys can do it yourselves, don't listen to Swim, don't net-deck - it's bad.
Trust me.
Okay, wonderful, so I think that wraps up this episode,
it was so nice to hear from you guys about the evolution of GWENT
over the past year,
and we are all very optimistic about the future of the game.
Yeah.
I can't wait to see how things fully realize themselves in 2018
and I hope you guys will be along with us for the journey.
From all of us - thank you very much for watching
and we will see you in the new year for the next episode.
Goodbye!
Cheers!

Trump's national security strategy | IN 60 SECONDS - Duration: 1:27.
Every president attempts to frame his first national security strategy as a
break from his predecessors. President Trump is no different.
But what's striking is how traditional the goals of the new strategy are:
protect the homeland; promote American prosperity; preserve peace through
military strength; and advance American influence through diplomacy, alliances,
help for fragile states, and by advocating for American values. Add in
the strategy's larger goal of ensuring a favorable balance of power in Asia,
Europe, and the Middle East – a goal that has been the cornerstone of American
grand strategy for decades – and it's hard to say that this strategy's broader
sweep is especially new. Ironically, if there is a break from the past, it's with
candidate Trump's statements on foreign policy, statements that were often more
isolationist, more protectionist, and typically harsher towards allies than
adversaries like Russia. For those of us who think that the traditional strategy
has served the U.S. well, this is all to the good.
Do you think President Trump will commit to his new strategy, or will he revert to policies he outlined in his
campaign? Let us know in your comments. Also, let us know what other topics you'd

Hamilton London review: A bravely rule breaking new musical with a near-perfect score - Duration: 6:14.
Hamilton London review: A bravely rule breaking new musical with a near-perfect score
Nothing has sent shock waves quite like Hamilton. Tickets for the last Broadway performance starring its creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, traded hands for $10,000 (£7,400), and after a much-agonised wait, this hip hop musical has opened in London.
First, lets address the elephant in the room: a musical about one of the Founding Fathers of America should make us Brits recoil.
It should make us want to head to the nearest half price ticket booth in search of a show with Oliver or Joseph in the title.
The British are traditionally as warmed up to the American Dream as Americans are to a warm serving of Spotted Dick.
Yet, Lin-Manuel Mirandas Hamilton is so bravely different, so stylishly rule-breaking and so goddamn catchy, its impossible not to be won over by its innate charm.
Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda astonishingly modernises the story of the immigrant Hamilton, a bastard by birth who revolutionised the US constitution, and created the countrys first banking system.
Hamiltons life is told almost exclusively in rap (it seems bonkers, right?), but it creates a fury of energy on stage – fuelled by the bopping heads in the audience, like were at an Eminem gig – like no show has before.
The rap lets up when the cast burst into excellent songs. Its a bravely successful musical experiment by Miranda, which is brilliantly fun; a new method of storytelling that feels distinctly relevant for today.
You neednt know who Hamilton is to be swept up in Mirandas deliciously rich storytelling. Lots of Brits dont.
But its easy to grasp the break-neck pace the plot moves at, because Hamiltons story is told in easily digestible segments which tackle every intriguing challenge Hamilton faced, from the difficulties of his private marriage, to his salacious dirty dealings and inspirational public speaking as historical characters including George Washington, Aaron Burr and Thomas Jefferson become intertwined.
Alex Lacamoire and Lin-Manuel Mirandas genre-spanning, incredibly ambitious score draws on jazz, ballads, pop, soul and show tunes to pay homage to the kaleidoscopic heritage of American music.
By the end of the second half, some of the catchiest songs are repeated as their titles, including My Shot and The Room Where It Happens, relate to more than one part of the plot.
RADA graduate Jamael Westman, who plays the title role, oozes confidence in his first major break.
His Hamilton is cheekily confident, at his best when he breaks the fourth wall to wink and smirk at the audience with all the passion and charisma youd expect of a revolutionary.
Hamiltons playful wit and charm exudes from more than just its lead.
Michael Jibson, who plays King George, mainly appears on stage alone but feels omnipresent with his piss-take impression of a pompous British aristocrat, and his performance proudly borrows from pantomime – thats right, a seriously credible show with a character worthy of going boo, hiss! to.
Miranda has worked tirelessly on the characterisation so there isnt any supporting roles which feel underwritten.
Jason Pennycooke is very good as blithely passionate Marquis de Lafayette, and future leader Aaron Burr, played by Giles Terera, tip-toes ferociously from ambitious plotter to remorseful leader.
Although the historical plot is what makes the use of rap interesting, by the second act, when the plot gets into the nitty-gritty of the Federalist Papers, there is a lag.
The shaping of the Constitution simply cant compete with the comparatively dramatic splendour of the Civil War in the first half, but the plot is quickly thickened by Hamiltons final surge, and the last chapter is enthralling again.
Then there is the boldly daring and frankly unusual ending. The show ends with the virtuous tale of Eliza, Hamiltons widow, who lived 50 years after Hamilton and continued his work.
She is played candidly and spiritedly by Rachelle Ann Go, who, pointing out into the newly-rebuilt Victoria Palace Theatre auditorium, longs to be by Hamiltons side. Raw, and rule breaking: it didnt even end with a song.

On the Road with Heat 'N Sweep: Gas Fireplace Features and Options Part 2 - Duration: 3:07.
Alrighty, folks, this is the fireplace number two I wanted to show you.
Now, this is, if you look inside of here, a little bit of a different version of the
same fireplace that was just on a few moments ago.
This is the same fireplace family, same manufacturer, this is the little brother version to the
other fireplace.
This is an existing - believe it or not - this is a pre-fab fireplace.
And we know that because the metal pipe that goes up, we can tell by the cap... it's hard
to explain at this point... but this is a pre-fab fireplace, so the big brother unit
wouldn't fit in here.
This one is going to be absolutely gorgeous, it's going to fit like a dream in here.
These clients have chosen - remember that red brick that was in there?
This is a reflective lining.
I haven't cleaned it all the way yet, and I just did a test burn, so it's got a little
condensation on it.
And these are the logs that are going to go in.
Once again, same fireplace family.
I'll show you how it all goes together here in just a minute, keep watching!
Alrighty, folks, we've got the logs and everything put together, I just wanted to give you a
quick update.
Now if you can see off to the right there, that's reflective.
It looks like there are a lot more flames than there really are.
I apologize for the reflection.
This is the birch log set, with the black reflective panels.
Now if you wanted to, you could really highlight these logs, really see what they look like,
they're just gorgeous.
Or you could just focus on the fire.
Now, believe it or not, you could have this log set with the red brick from the previous.
You could have the previous log set with this reflective background.
Or the clients from the previous fireplace could completely change their fireplace to
this look, without having to change their fireplace.
And these clients could go to the red brick and the other log set.
It's nice because you can totally change the look of your fireplace without changing your
fireplace.
If I pan out a little bit, you can see that the surround that bridges the gap between
the viewing area and the brick is not installed yet.
It's a custom surround, and it's not in.
Then there is a custom antique copper front that's going to go on this, and it's going
to be absolutely stunning.
So I just wanted to show you.
This has all the controls of the other one, so it's got the front burner, it's got the
rear burner, the ability to turn both of these up and down.
It's got the fan, it's got the light, it's got the thermostat, it's got the radiant heat
through the glass.
They're just gorgeous, they really are.
You can have this in your home, pop into Heat 'N Sweep and come see us!
Thanks for watching, we'll see you on the next one.

China's Entrepreneurs Can Rule The World | Kiril Sokoloff Real Vision Interview Video - Duration: 2:50.
I believe in China.
I've seen them do unbelievable things.
And there is a dynamism in countries.
And there's this great memoir by Robert Kuok K-U-O-K,
who's the Malaysian sugar king.
He owns the Shangri-La hotels, various other businesses across Asia.
He's now 94.
And it's a fascinating book-- sold out in 2 days first printing.
And he's saying that the greatest entrepreneurs in the world come from South China.
And all the ones who've made the most money in Hong Kong all come
from there.
None of them none of them went to college.
None of went to school.
And they just have this phenomenal talent for entrepreneurials.
And they work hard, and they're smart.
And so I can't say that about the entire Chinese people.
But there is a phenomenal energy there.
And when you unleash 1.3 billion people who've been
suppressed economically for 1,000 years, whatever it is, it's just, whoa, this incredible tsunami
of excitement and energy.
And you go to Qianhai, there are 145,000 companies that are registered to do business-- some
of the biggest companies in the world.
Why?
Why?
Because they see the potential.
They see the energy.
And what you have, in what's called the Big Bay, which
used to be the Pearl River Delta, which comprises Guangzhou,
Shenzhen, Shoon, Qianhai, is you have the logistical manufacturing capital of the world.
And nobody can equal it.
Silicon Valley has innovation, but it doesn't have logistics or manufacturing.
So you take that, if you have innovation, and you add to it logistics and shipping,
you have a huge advantage.
So also in Qianhai, the Chinese government is building thousands and thousands of subsidized
apartments.
And they're telling entrepreneurs from all over
China, come and innovate.
Start a business.
Not come and get a job.
Come and create.

Keto Christmas Tree Cookies... with my Mom! - Duration: 16:00.
I'm doing a very special installment of #ILIKETOEAT today, with the most
special of guests, starting now. Hey guys, welcome to A.D. Keto. I am Aaron. This is the
channel where we talk about the ketogenic diet. We do some keto food vlogs, we
talke a little bit about keto science, and we do some keto recipes. If this is
your first time here, please consider subscribing, and do click the bell icon,
so you get a notification whenever I upload new content. Guys, my mom is here!
My mom is here visiting. My daughter's birthday is today, She's turning 12. My
mom comes down usually every year at this time to visit, and we decided that
it would be a super fun thing to do to try to recreate a keto version of the
cookies, the Christmas cookies that she has made for me for the past 40 years.
And what kind of cookies are they? Basic sugar cookie. Regular flour, regular sugar,
vanilla, a little orange juice... Little orange juice?! Yeah. Little orange juice and some vanilla. Okay.
orange juice is new. I didn't know orange juice was in it. So there is gonna
be no orange juice in these new ones, right? No. So yeah, anyway, they are these
sweet, sweet little Christmas tree cookies, and mom's gonna help me make
them. Right! So that's the plan for today -- we're gonna make these cookies. We do
need to go out and get some ingredients first, so we're gonna do that right now.
All right, so we're off to find erythritol. I neglected to order any from Amazon, and
I can't find any. I went to Whole Foods the other day, and I went to Trader Joe's
and they didn't have it. We can check Stuyvesant Plaza, but I looked up that
place that Sara suggested, and it said that Yelp says they're closed. I think we
might be out of luck here. OK, so we'll hit Wolf Road.
Free advertising for Briggs Bail Bond, everybody! We get you out. Hi there, how
are you? I'm wondering if you guys have erythritol. I was trying to recreate
like a childhood cookie recipe with low carbs. Have you tried Swerve?
Do you have Swerve? We don't have it. I've been looking for Swerve. Honest Weight's
got it. The thing with Swerve, Aaron, is that you have to add a little bit more than you would add sugar. It's not quite as sweet.
It's not exactly a one to one replacement. They say it is, but it isn't.
This is a cool place. I'd forgotten all about this place.
My mom found the erythritol, granular. We'll have to grind it up, but
last bag in the place. Holy cow, this is amazing. I love this place. Hi, how
are ya? All right, how are you? Great! We found absolutely everything we
were looking for so we're very happy. Really? Including me? Yeah! including you.
She's laughing through her teeth at me. I don't think she's sincere. You're the best part! Do you know the 9-4
thing? No, what's the 9-4 thing? Any store. ANY store. Really? First digit's a nine?
Organic. First digit's a four? Conventional. Interesting! Any store. That's good to
know! There you be! Thank you so much. Have a great day. Oh my god, I love that guy. So, crazy
revelation: this place, Honest Weight Food Co-op, is the bomb.
Loved our cashier dude. He was so awesome! He looked like Santa Claus.
All right, so we're back from our encounter with Santa Claus, and we're gonna start
by making the last part of the recipe, which is a sprinkles. I found a recipe
for some sugar-free sprinkles which I will link below, you can find it at
sprinklesomefun .com, and it involves this stuff, which is called glucomannan
powder. And what we're going to do is basically mix this with some erythritol,
some protein powder, some egg whites. Since we don't have one of those cool
you know little ...what do you call those? Pastry bags, we're just gonna cut a
little corner here, fill this up, and make long lines that are gonna dry for five
hours. So we gotta get this part over with first, so let's get into it. Caroline,
I know that you are super-excited about cracking an egg with one hand, and
giving us our egg white, so you want to go to it? All right. Now we need just the
white. Just the white...? Yup.
But you told me to crack the egg! Yeah, we needed just the egg white though. All
right, it's okay. Grab another egg. There you go!
Perfectly divided egg. Nicely done. Next, we're going to use some erythritol -- half
a cup -- and we were only able to find the granular variety of erythritol. But this
recipe really calls for more of a confectionery style, so we're going to
scoop our erythritol right into this mortar and pestle, and
I'm going to start going grindin' 'er up. Normally, this could be done in a coffee
grinder, but we don't have one of those.
Just a half a scoop of this. Just a half a scoop. You know, this isn't the ideal protein powder. It is
vanilla, but it's not whey protein powder. It's fine.
All right, so we need to add half a teaspoon of this glucomannan powder to
this bowl, Caroline. Great. So we're going to combine our glucomannan, which
is in there now, our egg whites, go ahead mom, and our sweetener. And we're gonna
whisk this up. And it's gonna seem a little clumpy clumpy clumpy at first, but
we're gonna keep on stirring... oh we forgot to put in the protein powder. Dump
it in there. So we're just gonna put this into our ziplock bag, cut a hole in the
corner, and make long lines on a baking sheet. It's gonna be one big long
sprinkle when we lay it out like that. And then after they're done drying, we're
just gonna chop 'em up. If you wanted to do a colored sprinkle,
you could add whatever food coloring you would like. If you're doing more than one
color, you should divide up this dough. Just make sure you have one ziploc bag
per color that you want to use. Okay, so we're just gonna cut a hole in the
corner of the bag here. Those are pretty... that's a pretty big hole. We don't wanna...
Maybe we can go the other corner? A slightly smaller hole?
Because that looks like a really thick sprinkle.
That's much better. Look at that FIRST one though. That's a gigantic sprinkle I
can't wait to have the cookie with those sprinkles on Yeah, it's leaking out the
other end here. Our first hole is kind of like, pooping out these other ones the
middle of our tiny rows. So we're gonna leave this tray of future sprinkles out
for five hours. This is a cream cheese cookie. Tthe first thing we're going to do
is cream three-quarters of a cup of erythritoll and one cup of Kerrygold
Butter. Next we're going to add four ounces of cream cheese. Okay so next,
we're gonna add one egg. I think we're gonna put the coconut flour in first, because
that's only a half a cup. Oh yeah. And now this is two cups of the almond
flour. I'm gonna put a little bit in at a time. Hopefully it'll mix in a little bit
easier that way. Almond flour... One teaspoon of pure vanilla. Oh, yeah. I will put it
in a separate bowl and cover it up with Saran Wrap and let it cool in the
refrigerator for about four hours. Shoutout to Saran Wrap! And now I'm gonna
prepare the frosting that's gonna go on our cookies. This is basically the
same recipe that Megha over Keto Connect used in her ginger cake. If you want to
see someone do it right, go check that link out. Okay, so we're gonna start by
taking four ounces of our cream cheese and blending it together with a quarter
cup of our Kerrigold butter, and we're gonna blend it with a hand mixer until
it's fully incorporated. Then we're going to add half a cup of erythritol
and a quarter teaspoon of pink salt. And then we're just going to add some green
food coloring, until it looks the shade of a tree.
We totally forgot the vanilla extract, so we're putting it in after the fact. We'll
mix it right in. These are cool...yeah, they're cool to the touch.
They've just been drying on the counter for about four hours. I'm just gonna
break them apart, and these are gonna be the sprinkles. It looks like mozzarella
cheese. This is the ball of dough that we refrigerated for four hours. I'm cutting it in
half, just to make it easier to work with, and I like to make it into a ball and
then flatten it a little bit with my hands. This is a lot moister than I had
anticipated. And I think that's pretty good. This is a Wilton cookie cutter I
really like it. The bottom is metal, the top is like a rubberized plastic. Easy on
the hands. And I think maybe we'll be able to get maybe six out of this, and
we're gonna put them in the oven at 350 for about ten minutes, but check it. This
is very doughy. We're adding some coconut flour to eliminate some of the moisture
that we have in this cookie dough, because it's very hard to get up off the
parchment paper once we we cut them out. So I can see already -- this is kind of
absorbing some of that extra moisture that was in there, so I think this will
work. This is already working better, I can tell you right now. We're not going
to roll it too thin, because I think that was the problem with these first three.
So we're gonna try this now, and see how we do. Oh, that's perfect. Look at that. So
hopefully, we'll be able to get them up off the parchment paper a little easier, and
onto the tray. They look good. And I don't know if you can see there, this one is
rolled a little thicker than these first three that were so moist. I think that's
the key. We rolled them too thin, and they were too moist. This is working much.. oh
look at that. Much better. I have a wooden rolling pin
that I've had for 40 years. I know there are much better ones out there, but I
kind of like this one. It's my old friend.
There we go. Okay, so we have one, two, three, four that are rolled out thicker
with the extra coconut flour, and three... Our original three that are kind of
sticky, and we'll see. So now we put them in the oven. We're gonna put them in at
350 for about 10 minutes, and check. The color this is interesting for cookie
dough. It looks like oatmeal. So I'm not gonna... I'm gonna cut one out now, and then
try to get one more piece. I don't want them to be too thin. I think that that was the
trick. We were making them... the regular cookie recipe that I have, you can roll
the dough pretty thin, and I've always done that to try to get as many cookies
as I could, but I think the trick with this recipe is to not roll the cookie
dough real thin. Wonderful. We've taken the
first batch out. We cooked this for about 12 minutes. With every recipe, it's like
trial and error until you get just right. This is one of the thinner cookies. This
is one of the first three that I rolled out, and they were so thin that they were
very sticky, and I could barely get them up off the parchment paper. So we rolled
them thicker, but I guess... play with the thickness. If I gotta eat 'em with a
fork, I gotta eat 'em with a fork.
Oh, OK. Look at the edges of the Christmas tree shape. You can see that they're
brown, so those are done. I start frosting at the tip of the Christmas tree. These
are kind of fragile, so I'm going to go a little light on the frosting, and we're
going to just have the green frosting, lightly with the little sprinkles that
we made today. Just a few on each cookie. This frosting smells great, and you might
see the little white pebble-looking things in there, that's cream cheese.
So we're finally done making our epic Christmas tree cookies. It's been an
all-day adventure. These right here are the cookies that my mom has made for me
every year for 40 years. This is like my childhood, right here. This is the cookie.
I was very excited to try to find a low-carb version of this, and what we
ended up with it was this guy, which you can see -- much bigger, and maybe a little
uglier, but I'm down with this thing. It tastes,
based on the batter that we had earlier, tasted delicious. So you can see the back
is really nice and golden brown around the edges, so this is the this is the guy.
I'm gonna take a bite and see how it tastes. Mmmm. Delicious
You know I can taste in there most of all? The LOVE. So good. And so much fun to
make this with my mom today. You guys, she's been awesome. Mom, thank you so much.
You took the reins when this recipe kind of... like that first batch that we made,
that were super soggy, I was like, "I don't know if this is even gonna work."
You were like, "Just give me some coconut flour, and we'll fix it." And we totally did,
and mom saved the day. We've found that the thin ones held together better.
Better. The big fat ones feel a little bit more fragile, and they're... they're a
little bit more crumbly. But at any rate, they are great. I was telling mom earlier,
just... just the thought of this cookie, of eating something like this cookie, around
the holidays, does weird things to me, emotionally. I... I can't really contain
myself. She's sent these cookies to me every year, like I said, for 40 years. So
great to have a low carb option. Check out the recipes that I link below. We
kind of... it was a sort of mishmash of a few different recipes that I found
online. So I really hope you guys enjoyed this video. I'm hopeful that my mom can
come down again and visit, and do another appearance on the channel again. It was
awesome to have her kind of like... You should have seen her. At the beginning of
the day, she was like, super-nervous about it, but by the end of the day, she was
like, "Oooh, this is awesome! I wanna have my own cooking show!" So
adorable. So thank you, mom. I really am happy that
you came down and I did this with me. So guys, if you like this video, give it a
thumbs up. Please consider subscribing if you haven't already. I hope you have a
great day, and I will see you next time. And Mom, thank you so much. I love ya. I love you, too. All right, guys.
We'll see you next time. Bye-bye!
I'm doing a bear...[PBLTPBLT!] Off to a bad start.

Top Ten Psychological Tricks That Work on Anybody
"The human mind is not a terribly logical or consistent place," wrote Jim Butcher.
This is an understatement.
The human mind is, in fact, a complete madhouse.
This can be frustrating when the psychological workings of others keep them from appreciating
our ideas.
It can be wonderful however, when we learn to embrace the chaos and use it to our advantage.
So, in this video I'm going to show you 10 psychological tricks that really work for
that sole purpose.
Likewise, if you find this information is helpful to you, make sure to like this video
and subscribe our channel so you won't miss any interesting update in the future guys!
Here are ten psychological tricks that can help you to get what you want:
1.
If you want to win over a person who doesn't seem to like you, ask them for a very small
favor.
Most people will not refuse to help another person with something trivial.
This will put them in a collaborative mindset and help them to see you as a team member.
2.
If you find yourself struggling to make a path through a crowded place, set your gaze
directly at your destination.
People will subconsciously be looking to the eyes of those around them in order to forge
their own path.
As such, they will inherently understand where you are going and make way.
3.
If you want someone to help you carry something, hand it to them while you are speaking.
Most people will be paying more attention to your words than your actions and take the
package instinctively.
Even if they are distracted, they would likely rather help than interrupt you mid-sentence.
4.
If you would like to know whether or not someone has their eye on you, yawn.
If they are watching you, they will likely copy this action involuntarily.
5.
If you want someone to behave a certain way, give them choices within the bounds of the
desired behavior.
For example, instead of "Will you please eat a vegetable with your dinner?", ask
"Would you like me to make carrots tonight, or would you rather have green beans?".
This gives the other person a sense of control and makes them think the decision was their
own.
6.
If you want someone to think you are a fantastic listener, paraphrase their words back to them.
Be subtle with this tactic.
Don't mirror their words too exactly.
7.
If you have a song stuck in your head and it's driving you crazy, follow it all the
way to the end.
It's harder to shake a song if our brain thinks that we're leaving it unfinished.
8.
If you want someone to agree with your position, nod while you are explaining it.
Most likely, your audience will unintentionally mimic you.
Because they are nodding while they hear your words, they will become predisposed to agree
with them.
Nodding is also a sign of trustworthiness and confidence in your position.
Avoid shaking your head for the same reasons.
9.
If you want someone to like you, warm your hands before you shake theirs.
Warm hands put people at ease, while cold ones make them feel guarded and uncomfortable.
10.
If you want people to believe that you are giving them great advice, tell them that you
learned this from your mother or father or grandparent.
People give more weight to advice from an older family member, especially if you speak
about them with respect and authority.
Do you doubt the power of some of these tricks?
Go try them today.
You'll be surprised at how effective a little snippet of psychology can be.
Use these tactics to give an edge to your speeches, relationships, and work performance.
After all, as George Harrison once said, "It's all in the mind."
So, really cool information isn't it?

How Cameron Mills Learned Value of Teamwork at UK - Duration: 1:04.
I wanted to do the documentary this year so we have it two years in a row, the 96
championship and the 98 championship documentary and then what's been fun is
that I've gone around, I had Jeff Shepherd and Allen Edwards, who were my
fellow captains and my fellow seniors from the 98 team. They came over to my house
and we recorded the three of us sitting down, interviewed all
three of us together, which is one thing we did on last year's documentary that I
loved is having three teammates sit side by side by side and talk about playing
together, talk about what what they accomplished. You know, we started
reliving those moments we had together that kind of immediately, because if you
think back to that 98 season, we lost to Louisville at home, we lost to Florida
at home, we lost the Ole Miss at home and the Ole Miss game is the one where we kind
of just said 'that's it, we've had it' and our coaching staff said 'that's it, we've
had it,' and we started our 6 AM practices and that helped but you look
back to that, no one expected this to happen, this run we went on and I think
we went on this run, more than anything, because again, going back to
something I said earlier, nothing mattered except my teammate. That's all
that mattered. The championships didn't matter, basketball games didn't matter, my
teammate is all that matters.
