So, here you are.
There are so many K-Pop stars who can speak
English really well.
I only knew about the group name
Seventeen.
But while doing my research, I thought
Joshua and Vernon are freaking cute!
So I had fun doing research :D
Let's listen to Joshua first.
Jinger English
Joshua's voice and accent are very smooth.
His accent is
not particular.
It sounds pretty normal.
We call it
a 'standard accent'.
Literally
it means 'standard'.
News anchors and
people who record for textbooks
tend to have this accent.
Vernon is from New York.
When I listen to people from New York
I thought they have a stronger R sound.
They seem to be proud of the fact
that they are from New York.
They say
I'm from New York.
York always has a strong R sound.
Even though Vernon moved to Korea when he was 5
he is still a native speaker.
It's amazing.
Circumstances are very important.
When I was an English teacher in Korea
I got this question a lot from parents.
My children is studying English but
why don't they use English?
They wanted to know.
So I answered
Do you use English at home?
All of them answered
no.
Honestly if someone asks me
I know you speak English well.
So speak.
I would feel awkward.
I doubt that children who study English
will speak English when no one speaks
English around them.
That's not going to happen.
Some of my subscribers are
parents.
If you want your children to study English hard
do it together.
If they see you studying English
they might do it as well.
When you hear Joshua and Vernon's English
they are not significantly different.
But I know one thing about New York and
New Jersey area accent.
The phonetic notation that looks like a reverse C
it almost sounds like A.
You will see how
Vernon
pronounces 'song'.
Song sounds
almost like sahng.
I have been to the area and heard
a tour guide saying
Obviously, this is awesome.
Awesome sounded like ahsome to me.
So I said to my husband.
His accent is
different.
He said that it's common in the area.
When you hear
ahsome
it is awesome in some areas.
Accents
are different wherever you go.
Then which accent do I have to study?
You may feel confused.
Pick a native speaker who you want to sound like.
Listen and practice.
After a while
His(her) accent and
your accent will be
combined
and you get to have your own accent.
A lot of native speakers think
this kind of accent is charming.
A lot of people say they love my accent.
Because it's different.
I lived in
Korea,
Australia
and America.
So I have a mixed accent.
And it sounds unique.

Easy Art Journaling Page with distress oxides & WOW embossing - Duration: 9:11.
Hi I'm Gerry from Gerry's Craft Room and welcome to my channel
In this video I'm going to make an art journal page for my mini album
I start with adding one colour distress oxide ink to my page
I apply the ink straight on my work surface and spray some water and then dip in the paper
I dry in between layers and keep filling the paper until there are just a few spots of
white left I don't know if you noticed I have something
with white paper somehow I keep adding colour because the white
always looks so white by the way I added the products I used in
the description box for you and if you are new here don't forget to subscribe
now I'm going to add 2 more colours with an ink blending tool
I just fill in the white spots
and now I come in with a water brush and I go over the edges of the colours
to create some more texture I dry the paper and then go over the colours again
I have a bowl of clean water where I can dip in the brush
now I add some more colours with the same ink to get some deeper colour here and there
and get even more texture I add a bit over water on my brush and then
dip in the colours
then I come in with the water brush again
and blend the lines a bit for a softer look
now I'm going to try something again it's
a bit messy so I will figure out another way I dip a bit of thread in black gesso
and then I let it fall on my paper the thread is really long and my camera was
in the way so I had to cut the thread and my hand is really close to the camera
this would make a good 3d video with some scary effects
I press on a piece of paper and the thread sticks on the paper so I take that of
and then I start scribbling in the gesso with the back
of the paintbrush to get more shabby lines they look a bit fluffy or hairy
I thought there was a bit to much black so I'm
going to add some WOW embossing powder on the wet gesso
different parts are already dry so there will be some black left
and then I heat set it
I ink the edges with black ink
and some doodling along the edges
I finish my page with a sentiment and add some lines around the sentiment and
and my page is done

Very often, we talk about procedures of doing business, contributions and reasons to invest
in Poland, but very seldom do we discuss the real advantages of doing business here in
Poland.
To a foreign investor, there are so many benefits of doing business in Poland and I can talk
about them for hours, due to the fact that we have limited time here in the video, I
decided to point out the main financial benefits that are not often pointed out.
I am sure you will have a new perspective of doing business in Poland after watching
this video.
So, let's begin.
And the first point worth mentioning is existence of Special Economic Zone regime.
A SEZ permit allows an investor to benefit from a corporate income tax exemption for
income from operations within the scope of the SEZ permit and in the territory of the
SEZ.
An investor operating under a SEZ permit is obliged to incur certain amount of eligible
investment costs and create or create new jobs (depending on the location of the investment)
and, if necessary purchase the SEZ's real estate, as well as in certain cases pay the
a fee (usually dependent on the area used by the
investor).
The next point worth mentioning is government grants
Support can be applied for by companies planning investments in the following priority sectors:
• automotive sector, • electronic and household appliances sector,
• aviation sector, • biotechnology sector,
• food processing sector, • modern services sector,
• research and development (R&D).
Support can also be applied for by companies planning manufacturing investments in other
sectors if a project's minimum eligible costs are 750 m PLN and minimum 200 new jobs
or 500m PLN and 500 new jobs (significant investments).
And the last but not least point, the EU funds.
The actual aid varies significantly and depends on the project.
It is granted by appropriate government agencies in a formal procedure.
The availability usually depends on the level of the investor's commitment and innovativeness,
as well as the industry involved.
In the 2014–2020 budgetary period, there is a significant amount of EU funds available
to be distributed to recipients in Poland.
This aid consists mainly of refundable subsidies, which is different from the non-refundable
aid that was usually granted in previous years.
