Youtube daily report Oct 18 2018

Charlotte: Oh!

Peyton: Whoa, sh*t! It was like a weird wave of sound that just got up under ya'!

Charlotte: Like water.

*wheeze*

Umu: Okay, so there's this boy group called NCT and basically what they're known for Melissa: Non-Chord Tone!!!!!!

Umu: So basically NCT is known for having unlimited amount of members, they just keep adding members, but then they break into subunits.

So this is the NCT subunit called dream.

Umu: They're all 18 or under 18 years old and that's why they're called dream.

Umu: So this is a 2018 b-side track called Drippin', released on their second mini album called We Go Up.

Charlotte: I'm sorry, what's it called?

Umu: Drippin'.

Peyton: Drippin'! Charlotte: Drippin'! Umu: Drippin'!

Umu: This song is written by the songwriter Jan8 and the NCT member Mark.

Their song is about making someone fall in love slowly like water dripping until it overflows.

So it's basically comparing falling in love with someone to water.

Kevin: Hey, let me plug, I react to We Go Up with Umu. Go check it out, uh, uh, time to drip some drips!

Isaac: That was like... Umu: That was...

Isaac: That was cringey Umu: embarrassing

Peyton: *weird sound effect* 321 go

Charlotte: Ah! Sounds like dripping water. Peyton: Yeah

Stephen: Gotta have that "Uh, yeah". Seiji: Yeah.

Seiji: Whoa...

Melissa: I Like these like silences, on the like later beats in the measure

You expect the bass to be something solid, so it just starts bending from the beginning. That is like

Isaac: Arpeggio!!!!! Kevin: Sub zero gravity

astronaut space training machine.

Fiona: They grew up! Lindsey: They literally glowed up, so hard.

Charlotte: Oh, wow, this is sensual!

You'll be soaked before you realize, my God!

Charlotte: This must be the children Peyton: This must be about....love

Charlotte: Exactly

Peyton: Whoa

Seiji: I just love the bass in this song. Stephen: Yeah, dude. It's totally like, influenced by dubstep.

Seiji: Yeah

Charlotte: Oh! Peyton: Woo!

Elizabeth:That's so interesting they're making the rhythm out of that like, electronic chirping sound.

Melissa: Yeah.

Elizabeth: Now it just sounds like they're clucking their tongues.

Peyton: This would be a great way to start a concert.

Charlotte: Hello!

Peyton: Woo!

Charlotte: Where'd we go?

Peyton: Mark is Mr. Major.

Charlotte: It's just like sunshine!

Peyton: Major Mark

Kevin: So is the first section in e-flat minor?

Because that major sounded so Picardy-like. But we can't call it a Picardy, because it's a brand-new section. It's not a resolution.

Melissa: Well now it's minor again, right? This is minor.

Elizabeth: Yes Melissa: but it's not rapping Elizabeth: Chromaticism. There was a Non-Chord Tone.

Elizabeth: Wow!

There are so many NCTs in this NCT piece, I mean song.

Stephen: Oh, man. Seiji: How sweet.

Stephen: I like the patch that they're doing right now with that like aha, that's cool. That's something that I can hear like Skrillex do, you know? Sieji: Yeah, yeah.

Kevin: Ready?

Kevin: Wait. Wait a minute. It's not what I expected.

Fiona: We're fillin' up.

We're about to drown in this liquid.

Gotta get to the top.

Charlotte: Oh, hello, Mark!

Peyton: Oh, yeah.

Fiona: Mark is the hottie!

Fiona: Shout out, you Mark lovers. Lindsey: Mark is the one who like, wrote the song. Fiona: He's hot.

Charlotte: Ah!

Peyton: Whoa, sh*t!

That was like a weird wave of sound that just got up under ya'!

Charlotte: Like water.

Kevin: On the fourth beat--rare! Usually it's on the second beat when they do a delay.

Lindsey: Yeah, this is kind of like very rave-esque. Fiona: This song just sounds like a lot of mischief.

Kevin: It sounds like they're playing a major chord. (sings)

It's out of tune, but it sounds like a major chord with a slightly flat 5.

Charlotte: What a jam! Chromaticism,

throwing us off of when you're gonna bring back the beat Peyton: Yeah

Charlotte: Ooh.

Charlotte: Oof! Peyton: (laughter)

Oof!

I thought it was really dope. The moving bass under it, like a lot of dubsteksalala, uh, dubstep songs

Charlotte: (laughing, imitates mangled word) Peyton: (laughing) lalalala....songs

uh, tend to just kind of go like ahh, ahh, ahh Charlotte: ahh, ahh, ahh...

Peyton: And it's just like thank you, thank, thank you. You know, this one was like Both: (demonstrates)

Peyton: It was like more interesting, I don't know

And it's just like it was like you're on a roller coaster like a boat, you know.

Charlotte: A roller coaster..a boat!! Peyton: A boat! Charlotte: A tall boat!

Peyton: In the water of true love

Elizabeth: If someone wants me to fall in love with them, that would not be the song I would choose.

Melissa: That would be one hundred percent, like I would fall in love with someone from that song, yes. Umu: Oh

Melissa: But not these children.

Just like,

hypothetically, like that's a great song and I love it. It's like, it's like party music. But like, like if I could dance, I would

dance to that song, but I can't dance, so like Umu: So you would fall in love with this dance song,

Melissa: Yes Umu: but since it's a dance song, you wouldn't fall in love with it.

Melissa: Elizabeth, It's not like dancing

Okay, I love that like the baseline was so low, but so loud, and then like there was like, the really high accompaniment like open

spacing, that just makes literally everything lit. Like you can probably literally like just go over to the piano, and just play like the lowest

note and the highest note, and you'll be like, yeah, this sounds awesome. So that's basically what that song was.

ELizabeth: This one seems like it was definitely going for more like traditional

K-pop rap song, so they had like the the minor section with the very

like spoken word rap and then when the actual like

melodic singing came in it was in major instead of in minor, which I've heard a lot of times

reacting on this channel now, and then they had like the middle bridge section, where the accompaniment was higher than the vocal line,

so the bass like drops out and it feels like empty, musically empty.

Melissa: But in a cool way. Elizabeth: Yeah, in a cool way

Melissa: So the silences like kind of contributed to the musical emptiness, like it's not actually silence

It was like small, insignificant percussion when the bass line cut out and the vocals cut out at the same time, and that was so cool.

Kevin: It's very aggressive in the types of synth it uses. Feels like there is

dimension on the bass line at the beginning, like it's gnarly.

It doesn't sound like it's totally distorted to the point of no return. And it's the shock value of that is the bounced (mimics sound)

And then of course, I dropped my earbuds when I heard the crazy

What do you call that? That really,

high synth

it's just

very treble heavy, but it's a very percussive sounding thing, and it kinda is outlining this E-flat major

Isaak: (whistling) Kevin: Yeah, uh

arpeggio, that which is actually the home key of the piece.

So there's this weird, off-kilter quality, where like, you almost, it belongs to the song,

but because it's so different from everything else in the song, it

it stands out totally. And again, from the way it's mixed back and forth when it comes out and it's in full force,

it's just one of those weird syncopated things that you can't help but not even dance to, but just

twitch to.

Seiji: The first thing that kind of stood out to me was um, what was it?

There's an artist who did this, but I guess they're called

Soundscapes? Stephen: Oh, yeah

Seiji: And it kind of reminded me of that. You kind of had the patter-type of sound in the beginning kind, of high frequency.

That's the first thing that stood out to me. And then that, they kind of coupled that with, I guess a kind of trap-ish music,

and they moved around to the landing points to kind of throw people off, and

I guess make like the drop more exciting. Stephen: Maybe because of like, well, how slow the song is, and the pulse,

I guess maybe they were trying to use that to make it seem like water that was dripping, because it kind of edges along forward,

and you think of water, and it's like, you know

it's slow. When I'm in the shower and I watch the water drip cuz I'm bored, and like it goes off.

It doesn't happen all at once, so like it happens slowly,

so maybe that's what they were trying to do with the chorus. Like with the chorus but like na, na, na, kind of. Seiji: Yeah

Lindsey: They did a good job of using the background sounds to make it sound like dripping water.

Fiona: Yeah. Way to make me think of liquids. Lindsey: Yeah.

Fiona: There's so much descending chromaticism Lindsey: It's dripping

Fiona: And it's not like something drips and it's like

seven half steps--it's a perfect fit! It's like (sound of dripping water)

Elizabeth: Well, the, the actual like, little melodic fragment that repeats over and over is

(singing)

So it's so it's like, it goes up and then it falls back down to get to the downbeat Melissa: Just like water. Elizabeth: Yes.

Melissa: tat's the water trickle Elizabeth: So so so the contour of it is sort of like this dripping an idea

So we have this like leap, and then it falls back down,

stepwise.

And then you know they sing they were like, "Dripping, dripping, dripping",

so, you know, they really wanted you to know that things were dripping.

Batista WWE Return Plans LEAKED?! Why Chris Jericho Not At SmackDown! | WrestleTalk News Oct. 2018 - Duration: 4:02.

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News.

I'm El Fakidor Laurie Blake.

[SD 1000 Ratings Beat Raw]

And we finally did it fellow blue brand friends, we finally beat Raw in the ratings.

Yes indeed, Smackdown 1000 pulled in 2.545 million viewers.

That's up 19.2% from last week and 6.2% more viewers than Raw, the second time Smackdown

has bested the red brand in viewers since the brand split, the first being back in December

2016.

All it took was 1000 episodes and a show jam packed with big names like The Undertaker,

Rey Mysterio, Big Show and Evolution

Not the progressive women's only pay per view that's at the end of this month, but

three middle-aged dudes and father time himself.

Woooo patriarchy.

[Colt Cabana Shoots on Smackdown!]

And it wasn't just current WWE stars getting involved in the Smackdown celebrations.

Colt Cabana who had a brief tenure on Smackdown under the name Scotty Goldman in late 2008

through to very early 2009 was reminiscing about his time as one of them blues.

The tweets include such highlights as:

"The night I debuted on Smackdown, I was told the next week I was going to take Brian

Kendrick to "court.

We'd then do a series of skits where I'd lose & then take my opponents to court.

The foreshadowing was almost scary#SD1000"

"I lost to the Great Khali.

He yelled at me because he thought I didn't jump high enough for his finisher.

(I thought to myself, CMON! you're the biggest strongest MF'r I've ever seen)

I just said I'm sorry, I'm pretty sure he hates me.#SD1000"

"At one point Freddie Prinze Jr came up to me and told me I was going to be "The Santino

Of Smackdown".

My spirits were high!

The next week they made me do this fucking lunchbag puppet.

My spirits went low.#SD1000"

Wrestling everybody.

[Jericho Snubbed for SD 1000]

Speaking of wrestling everybody that's exactly what Chris Jericho has been doing of late.

He's been showing up out of the blue and wiping people out, like the flu in facepaint,

like chlamydia in clown face

But one place he didn't show up was Smackdown 1000.

As Rajah reported recently WWE and Jericho are still open to working together but their

relationship has soured recently.

He's no longer Vinnie Mac's golden lion.

And when as an asked Jericho why he didn't appear on SD 1000 he said 'nobody asked

me'.

Doesn't feel like that's stopped him before.

[Batista Plans Revealed?!]

Someone who did appear at Smackdown 1000, even though he apparently wasn't asked was

Dave Batista.

He appeared in the ring alongside fellow Evolution members Triple H, Randy Orton and this piece

of leather in a suit, and there were definite hints at an upcoming match with The Game somewhere

down the line.

The rumour being that this will take place at next year's WrestleMania.

But for that to happen there's going to have to be some set-up and that's where

this next pice of new comes in.

The MCM Comic Con in London announced yesterday that Batista has had to back out from a booked

appearance at the event which takes place from October 26-28 due to unforeseen scheduling

commitments.

So either Dave has got confused and will show up at Evolution on October 28th or more likely

WWE have something planned for Batista at Crown Jewel on November 2nd, which sounds

like a bad move on the personal PR front.

Tbh Dave could crash Evolution, Batista Bomb Ronda Rousey through a pile of lads mags and

proclaim himself the greatest woman who ever lived and that still might not be as bad as

appearing at Crown Jewel.

Battlefield 5 Exclusive Gameplay Walkthrough Part 3 - TIRAILLEUR - Duration: 11:06.

so guys I got another 10 minutes of battlefield 5 gameplay and this time

we're in France oui oui oui if you don't know they all speaking in native

languages so Norwegian Norwegian in the first part now it's French and mainly

this cutscene does not have subtitles but the main premise is at least to know

each other he's come into the war quite late and

also he's not very happy because he's a filling up sandbags instead of fine for

France so Normandy has happened now the French

and the Allies are pushing the Germans back but the Germans are fortified and

it's gonna be a it's gonna be a big battle so this is probably the most

heaviest gameplay you've seen so far really it's a really commissioned and I

really really enjoyed it hopefully I can do the full mission when the game comes

out can't wait for that so yeah this is the last mission in the war stories

there is one coming in December after launch which is all based around the

tiger tanks anyway let's jump in

Look at them.

Brave French Soldiers, ready to die for their country

They were heroes, these men.

But they were not only ones who fought. I'm going to tell you a story ... that you don't know

Deme!

How are you? Idrissa!

It's not possible! So things much be bad if they let you register, Hey!

They asked me to come and kick out the German! Because you were too weak too old to get it done, Idrissa! Look at you. So you're here to win the war all by yourself, is that it? If It'll make you feel better, go and tell your wife that you helped. Yes, I have a wife and she is too beautiful. What do you have?

We were saying: "We're French, We're French"

But once we got to France ...

... we found out just French we really were.

How long are we going to do this? Until It's Done. This is it? This is all we do?

Look. Things here are ... different. At that time, the French were throwing everything they had at a heavily fortified German Occupied Chateau.

And when all else failed, our ambitious young captain volunteered us

to take a shot to take out the surrounding German AA gun emplacement.

Hey! Hey! Keep you head clear. And don't play the hero. Stay alive little brother

sikozu Devorah contain apparatus of Calcutta store the McCrory predator Appa

manubrium a Kazuki ethically department free eco sukira a bar to your degree

my god that truck got absolutely devastated look at the holes in it I

guess we've we've stopped we get him out and now it's time for the war the war to

start so during a cutscene was fill up these sandbags that's not why he come to

the battlefield he came to plants and now he's flexing who's ambitious

lieutenant said I want to send up my platoon and there's what happened we are

now fighting on the battlefield I would have to apologize my shoot is not great

a little bit slugs at the spot I get back at Sol's iam I don't have a call

but it's really there we go I let me use this gun I've ever used it it's all like

any game and it's a pivot it's unique I was an Xbox one controller on pc i was

probably partly white as well a few difficulties there

William they're nice but sort of just point out these leaves it's currently

awesome in the UK and it just feels pop Craig those leaves

just throw them along the battlefields it makes it looks nice but we're in the

middle for a big fashion ambitious battle then a fishing fooled you can hit

that charge you're here at charge occasionally when that when you move

forward such a good feeling just go do this for frog for the alloy

suppose we'd gun to use I don't know how to explain it just just petunia how much

have you got for a beer power so if you hit you get heart just getting those

hits in so this point is almost a bit like a multiplayer game I guess in some

ways you've got a crank capture hey go and bring it to the yellow that's we got

howdy robotics before a little bit too quickly

and I wasted the look cool

this is probably been asking for a real battle game plan this is a definite yet

Alice on the game pace so far it'll be like the one soldier give

another soldier this is pure battle to avoid that's my wanted that's the leaves

still going across the battlefield but here's twenty eight let's slowly take

down every German

on the front lines in their maids push it back but we will not give up we want

Prague back off the Normandy Normandy happens when African Germans Germans

back into Germany

they'll be from came up pretty quickly it was a couple of days

okay we give up I bet the song is like really the bridge

always had the the / having a water

France we push for war also some minuscule of us are again we not for me

Paredes a fair bit crazy anymore shall repeat into the dough No

sure sweet Timmy Timmy June is out that I won it I like the fact there is

there's native language in this game if either you have a english voice and it

just ruins the immersion a little bit Orsini subs house where this feels more

like the first mission over this mission yeah it's a good that it's a good idea I

think it works quite well very well indeed

this game let's talk about my shoot in I guess they're taking down the 66 build

done there's free in the battlefield annoyingly

I've got to stop it soon return oh really sucks on my show you guys this

gameplay as possible but there is an embargo so yeah and that's it god dammit

I want to play more anyway I hope you guys enjoy it this video my voice is

slowly going soul ended there and babish my voice has gone great

What $3000 Can Rent You In New York City? 🇺🇸 - Duration: 7:14.

we're in New York City that's why a couple months ago we found great deals

a couple months ago we found great deals

on bus tickets it cost only $10 from upstate New York to New York City it was

such a good deal we really didn't even believe it we decided to visit New York

City for about three days before heading to Mexico and catch up with some friends

so it is right now about one o'clock in the afternoon and I didn't really expect

to see the traffic condition like this in New York City at all the GPS said

we'll reach the destination which is in Manhattan in 20 minutes but it turned

out to be like hour so we have just arrived in New York City at the corner

of 720 and we have no idea where we are we're

looking for Daniel and Naz I think Naz is here to pick us up but

Naz said 27 so we got to be close but it's so confusing to me I was like how

come about 27 is in between 7 and 6 entering the city the weather seems to

be a lot more moderate than it is outside the city in upstate New York you

have a lot colder days whereas in the city it's kind of blocked from all the

wind as you're driving through the buildings so we don't really have a

problem with it being as cold as we predicted it to be in the city

somebody said they're waiting for 6

so we just got here NASA picked us up we're waiting for

Daniel to get out but while we waiting to get out of work we want to say thank

you Daniel and s for hosting us here your Airbnb it's just unbelievable the

community that you build off of youtube I really want to show you guys oh the

house tour the Airbnb - up so this is mass and there we go

Daniel saying that has like in sunglasses for a different day so this

mass apartment so NASA Jesus there that lead up to our room right so when we

first moved into this apartment this actually used to be our bedroom but it

was so bothersome to keep going down that spiral staircase to get to the

kitchen so we eventually just moved into the bedroom downstairs and we made this

into an air B&B the huge closet really adds to this but on top of it you get

free water you get free noodles you get a TV you get video games as well and

free popcorn you can't go wrong with free popcorn plus it's also come with

the rooftop make it really private I like and then you can have the public

you that as well because they have the barbecue set up there and the toilet is

amazing it's so clean so nice well decorate it I really love it there

come down here oh yeah actually don't know not to spend

today you guys went to Philippines yeah and you say dried mangoes and say we

were like the best along with sabers LeSean there we go today's cows a nice

house it was like well you're gonna give me on Christmas Day who's like oh yeah

over Mexico it's not gonna taste good but it'll be the most authentic document

um nice Masto like how much is it for this apartment per month 24 25 right 24

2,400 this is like because it's rent-controlled so all the other people

that have lived here for a long time we were the first people here they paid

like 3738 oh my god so this is like okay let's say $3,700 apartment in New York

City it's really really this is the spare room studio room kind of so how

many room in total you guys got here three bedroom so you have the bedroom

here yeah the one upstairs that for a B&B yeah and then this one oh and this

one but you use you turn it into yeah that's a futon so we have gas stay over

sometimes we like pull that oh yeah that's awesome yeah and the batter may

phim sure thank you I think it'll be a great idea to to the

show like how three thousand bucks a month is like in New York City you got

the laundry room Kyle like where you can put all the stuff as well like a little

warehouse in the house

there you go and then you can shut it down

so now this room is kind of like this is like a spare room we put all sorts of

combinations board yeah I've always seen those other guys there yeah they're

pretty fast that's a Halloween way just think oh

this plays a little upstairs rebuilding us one on each side and a big

sky roof oh this is the real pants yeah that's why they got a girl right here oh

this is the growing light yeah and then the strings move it up as the plants

grow taller Wow this amazing that's Hugh is vous la la

specialty below this is mine it's a cloudy you can see the heat

How Texas Senate race reflects state's demographic divide - Duration: 5:16.

JUDY WOODRUFF: It is one of the most expensive races in the country this election year, the

Texas Senate showdown between Republican incumbent Ted Cruz and his Democratic insurgent, Beto

O'Rourke.

Tomeka Weatherspoon of Houston Public Media reports.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: Cruz...

SEN.

TED CRUZ (R), Texas: I think a lot of Texans watched the behavior Senate Democrats and

were disgusted.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: ... vs. O'Rourke.

REP.

BETO O'ROURKE (D-TX), Senatorial Candidate: The country has never been more divided or

polarized.

For people to be good and kind and generous to one another, that's what this country is

looking for.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: Texas voters are firmly divided between the Republican incumbent and

the rising Democrat from El Paso.

WOMAN: We got here really early because, well, I like -- I want to be in the front and I

want to see him up close.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: With less than a month before the midterm election, Congressman Beto

O'Rourke has campaigned to take Senator Ted Cruz's seat in the U.S. Senate, and he's received

from record-breaking campaign donations, outraising the incumbent by more than 2-1.

But the odds are still stacked against him.

Texas hasn't elected a Democrat statewide office in more than two decades.

DONALD TRUMP, President of the United States: So help me God.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: Donald Trump won the state by nine points in the last presidential

election.

SEN.

TED CRUZ: There is a fundamental choice in this election.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: But this is a surprisingly competitive race.

Cruz and O'Rourke have squared off in two debates so far.

And at last night's event in San Antonio, witness just how heated the battle has become.

REP.

BETO O'ROURKE: Senator Cruz is not going to be honest with you.

He's going to make up positions and votes that I have never held or have ever taken.

He's dishonest.

It's why the president called lying Ted, and it's why the nickname stuck.

SEN.

TED CRUZ: Well, it's clear Congressman O'Rourke's pollsters have told him to come out on the

attack.

So if he wants to insult me and call me a liar, that's fine.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: Cruz is polling ahead.

But O'Rourke hasn't been campaigning like the traditional candidate.

There's a viral video of him skateboarding in a parking lot and images from his days

in a punk rock band all over social media.

STEPHEN COLBERT, Host, "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert": My next guest tonight is

a Texan running for U.S. Senate against Ted Cruz.

Please welcome Congressman Beto O'Rourke.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: He is gaining national attention and appealing to diverse groups

in a state with a growing population of non-white voters.

Is this the race that could turn a red state blue?

Jay Aiyer is a political science professor at Texas Southern University.

He believes national party politics are trickling down and causing a rift in the state.

JAY AIYER, Texas Southern University: The voters themselves, the Cruz loyalists and

the Beto O'Rourke loyalists, there's a lot of animosity going on back and forth in a

level that we probably don't normally see, certainly in a Senate race.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: For a lot of Texans, national issues like immigration affect them

directly.

But not all first-generation Texans support immigration policies like DACA, which provided

protections for people brought to the U.S. illegally as children.

Nicole Aoueille drove over an hour to Senator Cruz's rally in rural Conroe, Texas, with

her husband, Andy.

She discovered she was undocumented at 16 years old.

NICOLE AOUEILLE, Texas: I worked hard to be a U.S. citizen.

I worked hard for the right to vote.

And I don't think that people can just come in here and say, give me.

It's not fair to those of us who worked a long time to get where we're at.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: Other national conversations also feel very real for Texans.

This is a state with one of the largest African-American populations in the country.

Jorden Moore has been following O'Rourke's campaign for a while now.

JORDEN MOORE, Texas: My interest kind of got piqued when I initially saw his interview

when he was speaking about police brutality and civil injustice.

And that just spoke to me, because that's a glaring issue in our -- not only in our

community, but in the world.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: And this is also a state where the administration's conservative values

hit home.

DONALD TRUMP: We have defended other nation's borders, while leaving ours wide open.

Anybody can come in.

SEN.

TED CRUZ: When it comes to the border wall, this is a commonsense issue.

I represent Texas.

We got 1,200 miles of border with -- with Mexico, and we have got to secure the border.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: Jay Aiyer says the comparison between Cruz and O'Rourke comes down to traditional

Texas vs. a more urban Texas.

For Democrats, the results could gauge party strategy for 2020.

JAY AIYER: The biggest pools of voters for them tend to be young people, people of color,

low-income voters.

And those voters traditionally are -- are the lowest participation rates.

If they vote at higher amounts, the state would almost certainly flip.

TOMEKA WEATHERSPOON: For Republicans, they already have their eye on early voting for

the midterm.

President Trump has made it a priority to hold a rally in Houston this coming Monday.

But for now, both Cruz and O'Rourke will continue reaching out to voters for the next few weeks,

each with their own vision for the future of Texas.

For the "PBS NewsHour," I'm Tomeka Weatherspoon in Houston, Texas.

The oldest specialized bone instrument of the Aterian culture of North Africa Middle Stone Age - Duration: 6:07.

North Africa is rich on the remains of the earliest representatives

our species related with cultures of the Middle Paleolithic.

And related finds similar to those that were

discovered and sub sahara and are considered signs

cognitive complexity.

These include mining and the use of pigments,

as well as making jewelry in the form of beads from shells, which,

allegedly related and with symbolic behavior.

For example, beads from marine the shells of Blombos caves and

Sybudu in South Africa is amazing similar to those that were

found on archaeological sites in morocco including

El Mnasra, Contrebandiers, Taforalt, Rhafas, Bizmoune

and Ifri n'Ammar, age 82 thousand years and more, and

in the parking lot of Oued Djebbana in Algeria.

However, other signs complex behavior such

as specialized bone tools in

northern africa from Middle Stone Age (MSA) met

less often.

More than 60 years ago, the first such tools were

found in the caves of El Mnasra and Dar es Soltan 1

in the territory of Morocco.

But to study in detail these tools started only

in recent years when There are new finds.

What researchers and report in a scientific article of October 3, 2018.

The work describes the find associated with the Aterian

bone culture knife found in 2012

year on the site of archaeological excavation cave Dar es-Soltan 1,

on the Atlantic coast Ocean in Morocco.

The artifact was extracted from cultural layer, age

in 90 thousand years, which was determined using the optical method

stimulated fluorescent dating

It makes the find the oldest. specialized bone

tool North Africa.

Typological characteristics bone tool

suggest complex technological chain in its manufacture

and possible use as a knife.

Some features new findings were similar

with two other bones tools from the cave

El-Mnasra, and this suggests that representatives of the Aterian

cultures have developed an independent manufacturing technology

tools that differ from those found in others

parts of Africa since Middle Stone Age (MSA).

One of the indicators of cognitive difficulty is the production

combined tools methods including scraping

grinding, grooving and polishing.

To the described find, the oldest in Africa

bone tools were considered from Katanda (Democratic

Republic of the Congo) to the south from the Sahara, age

about 90 thousand years.

Although harpoons from Katanda more finely processed

unlike artifacts in Marocco.

Harpoons from Katanda fastened on spears to hunt

on soms weighing about 70 kg, later, people used

similar harpoons for hunting on large and fast sea

mammals.

Elsewhere in South Africa pointy bone implements

were found in the layers of the stylbe industry and later

from the Blombos and Sibudu caves, age from 72 to 84 thousand years.

Younger bone the tools were from Borders

or Border Cave.

However, unlike more skillful tools

from Sibudu and Katanda, finds slightly younger were relatively

simple and limited only acute forms.

And in North Africa, besides caves Dar es Soltan 1, previously

11 artifacts have been described Aterian sediments

the nearby cave of El Mnasra.

Bone tools out two caves were made

from the edges of mammals by similar technology and

have similar sizes.

And wear characteristics work surface indicate

for possible use them for cutting soft material.

The emergence of new types of tools may be due to changes

in the structure of use natural resources by humans.

Age about 90 thousand years corresponds to the increase

availability of marine resources what could push the ancients

people to making specialized tools for solving

new tasks.

Further archaeological excavation and experimental

archeology must establish is there a direct connection

between these implements and exploitation of marine

resources.

However, despite how used bone

knives from the caves of El Mnasra and Dar es Soltan 1, they are

the only archaeological finds of the Aterian period

cultures with similar characteristics and technological chain

at production.

It is also noteworthy that these tools, with detailed

consideration are different from bone tools

Middle Paleolithic south Sahara and Paleolithic

plots of Europe.

Researchers are associating the emergence of new technologies

tool making with artifacts pointing

on the development of the symbolic thinking in north africa.

These questions are quite interesting. and are important for understanding evolutionary

related processes development of complex behavior

and abilities of the ancients people especially closer to

the period of their exit from Africa with the subsequent distribution

all over the planet.

Eloquii Plus Size Haul: When Allergies Attack - Duration: 21:57.

hey everybody I felt like I needed to change it up I was sick of the same

direction you guys were seeing so I just changed the part of my apartment that

you are seeing in this haul look at me being so clever anyway today's haul's

exciting because today's haul is from eloquii and I haven't done a haul from

that in like a very very long time and they had some amazing new pieces come

out as part of the Draper James and Eloquii collaboration and I just I

wanted to do it and I'm gonna actually open it for you guys on camera too

because that's like the fun part it's like what they call it an unboxing

could it be an unboxing so the first bag and this is a big bag let's open it up I always get like

such feelings of strength opening bags it's not actually like that hard to open

a bag but inside I feel special about it for some reason

oh the first dress has been making the rounds I've seen a lot of girls in it

and it's beautiful and I wanted to be beautiful in it too

so I got it it is this it's kind of like a poppy colored it's not quite a red

striped dress with black and white I think it could be navy but it looks

pretty black it has this amazing like crisscross and then it comes and ties in

the back if you see here it's got a back tie like so now what's interesting

about this is the way the ties are done is technically technically you could tie

it the other way but honestly that would take away there's a really fun front

detail it's just the cross detail one thing I'm a little bit surprised about

in opening this dress is that I actually thought it would be thicker and it's

actually a fairly lightweight dress which means it's gonna need tights or

something underneath it for the winner or it'd be great for layering but it

is not a thick Ponte knit fabric it's actually a very

lightweight stretch now it is lined in this white underneath so even though it is

a thin fabric it's not gonna be see-through which thank goodness and it

comes about maybe like mid midi-length it's a little bit longer as the arms

obviously full on so it's not short or anything and I like that the stripes

kind of continue out onto the arms versus going like up and down I feel

like up and down can be choppy it's not that makes you look bigger or smaller

it's just visually choppy this is more seamlessly visual and you can see that

the arms are see-through as you can see me do this behind it anyway I thought it

was just really cute I loved the detail and I wanted to give it a go

so I get why everybody's been rocking this dress because it's a stunner and

it's super comfortable I'm living for it I love it I'm actually like super excited

for this item I just love color I love color so much and I feel like sometimes

in winter it's harder to find like fun bright colors to wear you kind of get

stuck in this like dark moody color atmosphere so when I saw this I was like

okay it's like bright as hell and that is like my aesthetic it is this super

fun sweater with balloon sleeves and it is cropped so it's like a shorter

sweater and then giving you that volume in the sleeve I'm liking this trend that

I'm seeing of these cropped oversized sweaters I just think it's very 90s very

different and it takes a little play like these balloon sleeves they were

around last season but this season they're bigger and the sweaters that

they're accompanied with are definitely like cropped and oversized which is the

bomb this is just colorfully happy I love all the different colors in it just

so you can see all the different colors in it and I think with the pair of jeans

or even layered with like a dress over it like one of those little cute overall

dresses this is going to be such a fun staple it's also very soft it's not like

an itchy sweater it's made out of acrylic a hundred percent so this is a

non itch sweater it does have a wider neckline which

I find interesting because I thought it was gonna be crew because a lot of times

you see in crew or mock neck when you have the balloon sleeve just to kind of

play off of this but instead you've got actually kind of a wide neckline almost

a boat neck and it's just soft and comfy and I'm excited about it because it's so

damn colorful I super love the sweater it is so bright it's so bold it's a

little out there it's a little bit loud it's basically me in a sweater and I

love it I also love like just it's so

comfortable it literally doesn't even feel like I'm wearing anything which is

like magical in itself the next item I got is a pair of jeans and the reason I

got this pair of jeans is because it comes in a viola cut now if you're not

familiar with the viola cut it is something that eloquii launched a

couple years ago I actually was like the poster child for it when it launched

I was part of the original campaign but what it does and I'll show you actually

you'll see it on the denim itself is it as smaller at the waist and then gives

you extra room down at the hip and thigh region for me this is my ideal cut I

have not tried it in these jeans I've heard the peach fit jeans are great so I

just wanted to give it a go I wanted to try them out and see hey does this hold

up to the claims that they've said it's just a standard dark-wash skinny

nothing super exciting about it but it is exciting because of that fit as for

stretch I'm just pulling it here oh yeah so sexy the stretch is really strong on

these I just I'm just excited to have another pair of jeans I feel like in

fall I just turned into a pants monster I don't want to wear skirts because I

don't want to be cold so I just wear leggings and pants and trousers and

anything because I'm just like please for the love of all that's holy keep me

warm I feel like as I get older I get more and more cold I don't know how that

happens but for some reason like you slowly descend into like grandma age

where you just want to have a heated blanket on you and talk about what you

had for lunch and you know what I am I'm committing to it this fall screw it why

fight the inevitable granny-ization granny-ization is that a word

it's a word now in my world of my life I also like feel like this means I'm gonna

end up gambling in Atlantic City and getting a bunch of dogs I'm already

certain I got one so these are the peach fit denim they actually fit really well

my thoughts are they're a little bit of a heavier denim so maybe a little warm

for right now but will be like amazing when winter months come so just

something to know that they're like heavier weightier more heat

more heat between these thighs I mean what you get what I mean on to the second much bigger bag

Ah the struggle is real

first item itch the first item is another sweater cuz I love me some sweater weather it is

again a little bit of a crop here and it's a purple sweater this time with a

mock neck and again with a little bit of a balloon sleeve but not cuffs like we

saw on the other sweaters a little bit more unfinished this reminds me almost

of like a fisherman sweaters style as far as like how it's like sewn also its

weight is much heavier than the sweater we just looked at earlier in the haul

this is made of acrylic and nylon and that nylon is definitely adding a lot of

extra weight I will say this feels like it's going to be very warm but maybe not

as soft and comfy as the other sweater however this sweater's likely meant to

be worn in like Arctic tundra which means you're probably gonna have a shirt

underneath it in fact most sweaters you have are shirt underneath the other one

I wouldn't cuz the cuff sleeves and everything but this one I would actually

totally layer underneath and what I love about the sleeves here we got a little

bit of a drop sleeve here ie it goes out further and then gives you the sleeve is

that it will look really really cute because it doesn't have a cuff here with

like a t-shirt underneath it give me like an additional pop of color maybe

even something surprising like a neon or you know a contrasting color to purple

like orange so when I look at something like this it's exciting because I

there's a lot of possibilities for styling it does have a much higher

neck which honestly for cold weather stuff I really appreciate because when

you're walking in the city the air hits right here and I don't know if this happens

anyone else but I literally get like a red mark right here for most of the

winter of like wind burn and this is gonna sit high enough that's gonna

prevent that which I am grateful for this weird things I am now grateful for

thanks world I love the aesthetic of this it's so cozy but it's like tailored

at the waist preach I love this sweater that is me

singing its praises next opening this sucker up next we have what is this oh this is a really

cool dress and it's a very different fabric than I thought it was gonna be so

first let's talk about that it's a puff sleeve body con dress now I honestly

thought that this was going to be a more structured fabric eloquii uses a lot

a lot a lot of structured fabrics and so I was thinking there would be

like no stretch to this but no it is like very stretchy it's this kind of

wrinkly stretch crepe I don't know how to explain it can you kind of see it I'm

not sure it's interesting because it has a standard sleeve and then the puff

actually starts about midway down here so it's like accentuating this elbow

region you like my sexy elbows but really in this dress they would be sexy

elbows because that's where the balloon is gonna start and then comes down to an

elasticized end of that which I also like because this supports a variety of

different arm width sizes so if you have like you know bigger arms you're not

gonna be screwed by this you might be screwed in this but that's a different story

it's red it's sexy you might get some sue me for saying it it's got a nice

little hip curve built in here obviously with the nice body con so it's going

to come in at the waist and then come out you can style this up and down

you could wear it for work you can also easily take off a jacket and a belt and

all of a sudden have a hot little number for some drinks I just think it's a

super cute dress and feeling this fabric and how comfortable and how like much

it's gonna move with you and stretch with you you could wear this all day and

feel comfortable like not like anything's sometimes like business

clothes is stuffy right and you just feel like trapped in your clothes you're not

gonna feel that way in this dress girl so this dress is another babe alert for real yo

I also like the sleeves pushed up a little bit like they can come down

meh but I think they look cooler when they're like that so I wanted and I have

wanted a really fun button-down print shirt for a while just because when

you're layering and especially when a lot of your sweaters are solids you want

to have something that's like a little bit kooky to put underneath them to add

a little pop of fun so when I saw this button-down and eloquii kind of kills

the game in like quirky button-downs I always find them having like really

structured button-downs in like crazy prints I saw this penguin print and I

was like I cannot not get it it's got a fun just like look at that penguin we're

marching we're marching print comes down to just a standard dress shirt one

little detail they did changes rather than having a cuff you actually have an

athletic tipping here which actually makes this more stretchy that athletic

tipping is also used to make the collar so rather than your traditional like a

structured blouse collar you're getting that athletic ticking which also has a

little stretch to it so it's just a little interesting addition of an

athleisure note on a very structured garment overall it's really really you

know standard dress shirt it is made out of polyester but yeah it looks like a

standard dress shirt but it's in a crazy print and it's got some interesting

athleisure notes which I like it's exactly what I wanted I mean I like

quirk and I like mixing of trends maybe loosen up my buttons a little I'm a little

too straitlaced right now there we go but it's perfect it's exactly what I was

looking for so this dress comes from the Draper and James collection which is

their partnership with Reese Witherspoon so this is a long floral dress it is

mesh all the way through and then there's a lining in like below it that

adds coverage so you can see the lining here do you see where it starts the

sleeves itself are sheer all the way down they have a lot of extra room to

them and then they bunch down into an elastic cuff here no formal cuff on the

dress the dress also has a tie for the neck should you choose to wear it it is

not physically attached to the dress it is kind of just put on a little string

here I actually expected that tie to be physically attached

let's talk pros and cons when it is physically attached I feel it looks a

little bit more cohesive with the dress it stays in a better place and usually

it's more incorporated into the design so that's my pros of it being attached

the pros of it not being attached means you can take this tie out and wear it

around a dress shirt which I do a lot of time with some eloquii ties that I've had

before I feel like a little bow with a dress shirt is like a fun women's wear

style style of a tie so you can reuse it it's just just note that it's not

attached and that was a little surprising for me there's also a tie

here at the waist it's just a thin tie here again this is removable if you'd

want to likely I will take that off I don't like the waist tie all the time

I'd rather have like like it's like a committed tie I either want to belt or

like a thick tie or no tie and all the little tie it's just not me I'm just

not a little tie type of lady then it comes down to a whole bunch of tiered

ruffles 1 2 and 3 and these are just fun little additions they add

movement they add excitement to the dress itself overall I think it's a really

great color scheme for me and I'm excited it's got these little notes of

red in the flowers which you can play off of in other items so you could even

layer like a red cardigan with this or even fun red accessories

to kind of play up that tiny bit of red that's in here there's also some

nice green notes that you can do the same thing with like a bright kelly

green bag would look epic with this look so the lining fits goes over my hips

fits nice it's pulled all the way down this bottom ruffle though refuses to

play along so I'm actually not gonna turn around because it's it's it's a

it's a booty apocalypse in the back I mean the lining's down there so I guess

you can see you can see it's not that bad but it doesn't fit me so there's no

point in me like modeling the fit when you know it fits really great up here I

actually have some room and then here it just doesn't appreciate the booty in the

way I would so I'm a little bummed because I really like the dress but I

can't really wear it also from this Draper James collection is this

denim shirt now why did I get a denim shirt because here's the deal I realized

at denim days I did not have a good denim shirt and I wanted one I did size

up in this because I wanted it to be a little bit baggier I didn't want a fitted

denim shirt I wanted something that I could tie at the bottom or if I

tucked it in it would be like a little bit blousy it's kind of where I'm moving

in a little bit of my aesthetic because I like a little bit of a baggier top or

like a little bit more like room to it I like to get a have this nice girly

ruffle so it's not your traditional denim shirt and then it goes down to the

sleeves to just the standard cuff but again that feminine detail of the ruffle

is really what I'm here for and why I picked this shirt out

super-duper glad I sized up because I think I actually needed the extra room

in this particular shirt so yay but I actually think it's really cute it's

very comfortable which is surprising because I don't think I've had a denim

shirt that fits this well and is this comfortable and like a very long time

I am itching like crazy allergies have happened to me right up in my nose and my

eyes sometimes too cuz they itch a lot and that's driving me nuts okay so I got

these originally in a different size and then I reorderedd them in the right size

these are a pair of amazing plaid leggings but honestly they're so thick

they could be worn easily as pants I like them because they have this fun

ticking strap down the side the plaid itself is a mix of gray navy and

burgundy it's subtle enough that it could be a neutral this could be a black

pant in the way that you're thinking about outfits it also could be the

star of the look by pulling out one of the colors in the bottom of the pants

and making it a solid top it's up to you my friends it's up to you what you

do but these are comfortable and you can walk around and explore and feel

comfortable in them and that's what I plan to do in these pants in China

hopefully I think they're gonna make my bag honestly I'm having such a hard time

packing it's killing me but I got them for that reason I have purchased other

eloquii leggings and I cannot recommend them more they're different

right you have two types of leggings that exist you have your thinner

leggings that go well under dresses and then if your leggings that you literally

want to wear as pants and that's where eloquii's leggings really do shine

if you want to wear leggings as pants if you want something that feels like a

legging but it's like thick enough and structured enough to also be a pant ie

you don't have to wear something to cover your butt like you could wear just

a normal shirt with it and nobody's gonna like call you out on it that is

where I go for my leggings as pants set up eloquii has great leggings as pants so

as you can see here these pants totally work as pants well

they're leggings leggings as pants you can wear these leggings as pants is what

I'm trying to say

and our last item which is also from the Draper James collection and is one of

my favorite things and the whole haul cuz I just think it is so adorable

I don't know how to else to say it it is this fun little capelet coat

it's double-breasted and these are gold buttons so if I take them off you can

see shiny shiny shiny shiny which I'm here for they come down and these

unbutton so it can be worn open or closed depending on how you want to wear

it and comes down I wanna get this other button open and then it's just a lovely

kind of jacket what I like is it's a capelet that's not too constricting

because this is just an overlay and I feel like in the fall sometimes you

don't want a full jacket you want just like a little warmth around your body

which is what a capelet is perfect for I like that it ties shut as well it has this

nice little waist defining tie that comes up here so you can either button

it or tie it there's a couple of different ways you can style it and it's

just really well made and I thought it was adorable that's why I picked it guys

cuz it was adorable the color is just such a brilliant red this red is gonna

work on a lot of different people I think they call it poppy on their site

but it's definitely more of like a pinkish red in the lighter tone family

so this is gonna work for most skin tones which I also appreciate from this

design also here you're gonna have no arm problems because there is no tight

arm here it's very loose it's gonna allow you to have some flexibility and

then again the Cape just sits over the arm like that so it looks almost like

kind of like a big ruffle yeah that's the best way to say it but it's adorable

it's absolutely adorable and I'm so excited to style it I am like pumped

this is just such a cool piece like I look cooler wearing it and a like that I

can just do this after a couple drinks so thank you guys so much for watching

The oldest specialized bone instrument of the Aterian culture of North Africa Middle Stone Age - Duration: 6:07.

North Africa is rich on the remains of the earliest representatives

our species related with cultures of the Middle Paleolithic.

And related finds similar to those that were

discovered and sub sahara and are considered signs

cognitive complexity.

These include mining and the use of pigments,

as well as making jewelry in the form of beads from shells, which,

allegedly related and with symbolic behavior.

For example, beads from marine the shells of Blombos caves and

Sybudu in South Africa is amazing similar to those that were

found on archaeological sites in morocco including

El Mnasra, Contrebandiers, Taforalt, Rhafas, Bizmoune

and Ifri n'Ammar, age 82 thousand years and more, and

in the parking lot of Oued Djebbana in Algeria.

However, other signs complex behavior such

as specialized bone tools in

northern africa from Middle Stone Age (MSA) met

less often.

More than 60 years ago, the first such tools were

found in the caves of El Mnasra and Dar es Soltan 1

in the territory of Morocco.

But to study in detail these tools started only

in recent years when There are new finds.

What researchers and report in a scientific article of October 3, 2018.

The work describes the find associated with the Aterian

bone culture knife found in 2012

year on the site of archaeological excavation cave Dar es-Soltan 1,

on the Atlantic coast Ocean in Morocco.

The artifact was extracted from cultural layer, age

in 90 thousand years, which was determined using the optical method

stimulated fluorescent dating

It makes the find the oldest. specialized bone

tool North Africa.

Typological characteristics bone tool

suggest complex technological chain in its manufacture

and possible use as a knife.

Some features new findings were similar

with two other bones tools from the cave

El-Mnasra, and this suggests that representatives of the Aterian

cultures have developed an independent manufacturing technology

tools that differ from those found in others

parts of Africa since Middle Stone Age (MSA).

One of the indicators of cognitive difficulty is the production

combined tools methods including scraping

grinding, grooving and polishing.

To the described find, the oldest in Africa

bone tools were considered from Katanda (Democratic

Republic of the Congo) to the south from the Sahara, age

about 90 thousand years.

Although harpoons from Katanda more finely processed

unlike artifacts in Marocco.

Harpoons from Katanda fastened on spears to hunt

on soms weighing about 70 kg, later, people used

similar harpoons for hunting on large and fast sea

mammals.

Elsewhere in South Africa pointy bone implements

were found in the layers of the stylbe industry and later

from the Blombos and Sibudu caves, age from 72 to 84 thousand years.

Younger bone the tools were from Borders

or Border Cave.

However, unlike more skillful tools

from Sibudu and Katanda, finds slightly younger were relatively

simple and limited only acute forms.

And in North Africa, besides caves Dar es Soltan 1, previously

11 artifacts have been described Aterian sediments

the nearby cave of El Mnasra.

Bone tools out two caves were made

from the edges of mammals by similar technology and

have similar sizes.

And wear characteristics work surface indicate

for possible use them for cutting soft material.

The emergence of new types of tools may be due to changes

in the structure of use natural resources by humans.

Age about 90 thousand years corresponds to the increase

availability of marine resources what could push the ancients

people to making specialized tools for solving

new tasks.

Further archaeological excavation and experimental

archeology must establish is there a direct connection

between these implements and exploitation of marine

resources.

However, despite how used bone

knives from the caves of El Mnasra and Dar es Soltan 1, they are

the only archaeological finds of the Aterian period

cultures with similar characteristics and technological chain

at production.

It is also noteworthy that these tools, with detailed

consideration are different from bone tools

Middle Paleolithic south Sahara and Paleolithic

plots of Europe.

Researchers are associating the emergence of new technologies

tool making with artifacts pointing

on the development of the symbolic thinking in north africa.

These questions are quite interesting. and are important for understanding evolutionary

related processes development of complex behavior

and abilities of the ancients people especially closer to

the period of their exit from Africa with the subsequent distribution

all over the planet.

Most BIZARRE Unsolved Mysteries To This Day! - Duration: 13:03.

From mysterious disappearances to the discovery of Noah's Ark, here are 10 of the most fascinating

unsolved mysteries!!

10.

Disappearance of Frederick Valentich

Fred Valentich was a young Australian pilot who was aiming to fly across the Bass Strait,

a stretch of sea between the Aussie coast and the island state of Tasmania in 1978.

Over the course of 5 minutes he described being followed at a distance of 4,500 ft (1372

m) by some sort of strange aircraft made of metal, that had 4 bright lights plus one green

light on the exterior.

Valentich tried to communicate again, and right after he said he was having engine trouble,

the signal ended abruptly with a scraping sound.

That was the last anyone saw or heard from Fred Valentich.

So what happened to him?

Did he crash?

Or did the strange aircraft take him down?

Was he taken by the occupants of the strange craft?

While some question his competency as a pilot, as well as his interest in UFOs, others highlight

the fact there were other sightings of the lights he described.

One unidentified farmer even said he spotted Valentich's plane, which was attached to

what he thought was a 30 ft long aircraft.

Implying that the other craft had somehow kidnapped him or something!

Others think Fred's senses were fooled by what's called a tilted horizon, and that

he actually saw a series planets instead of lights.

In this case, there are more questions than answers and only the pilot himself knows what

really happened.

9.

Red Rain of Kerala

If blood suddenly started raining down from the sky, you might think you'd walked into

a horror movie.

Well if you live in the Indian state of Kerala that kind of thing happens a lot.

But don't worry, it's not actually blood!!

Not blood as such, but red-coloured rain that has become the subject of much speculation

since it was first officially noticed in 2001.

Localized, short periods of this red rain fell for a couple of months.

The rain followed after a mysterious flashing light in the sky and a noise like a sonic

boom.

It's also been mentioned a century or so back in 1896 and most recently in 2012, though

it has been a fairly regular thing over the years.

As for what causes the strange red tinge, the only thing scientists do know is that

the rain carries red particles, or to be more precise, spores.

These spores don't have any recognizable DNA, leading some to think they're evidence

of alien life.

Apart from that it's all a bit of a mystery, with no theory gaining enough traction to

be widely believed.

So for now the people of Kerala will have to put up with red stains on their clothes.

Pretty inconvenient but then Nature never did respect the wash cycle…!

8.

Jeannie Saffin Combustion

Doctors know a lot about how the human body works, but there are still many things that

happen which are an outright mystery.

One of those is spontaneous human combustion, a dramatic phenomena where allegedly people

can just catch on fire without warning.

This fate befell English pensioner Jeannie Saffin, who was sitting in her kitchen when

the combustion happened.

Thankfully her father was with her and he and his son in law managed to put her out.

Tragically a lot of damage had already been done, with disfiguring burns, some of which

went right through to the fat tissue.

Jeannie passed away from pneumonia later on, and there was something strange about the

way she behaved during the ordeal.

While she was burning she didn't react much, behaviour that's been supposedly observed

in other cases.

This is put down to shock but also a lack of awareness that seems to suggest that you

are asleep or unconscious when this happens.

Pretty weird, right?

What actually causes this dramatic reaction is not yet known.

Some people even think this doesn't even really happen, it's just urban legend.

Some put it down to a build up of hydrogen in the cells combined with faulty mitochondria,

our cell energy producers.

There's still so much we don't know about human biology, who knows what's going on

at that microlevel??

But always remember, try to stay calm or you may just spontaneously combust!!

And now for number 7 but first if you are a returning subscriber welcome back!!

And if you are new be sure to subscribe and click the bell before you go!

7.

Man in the Iron Mask

Oh yes, he's back!

You remember him, from the movie with Di Caprio!

Well if you thought that it was just a story, prepare to be surprised because the image

of a poor guy locked up with a mask stuck on him was taken from real historical events!

The top priority prisoner was held in the Parisian fortress known as the Bastille between

1669 and 1703.

Who was he?

Good question!

No-one really knows yet… guess that's why they put him in a mask, right?

Writers such as Alexandre Dumas imagined the Man In The Iron Mask to be Louis XIV's twin

brother, though historians think they've got a decent idea as to the man's true identity.

They believe him to be a treasurer's valet named Eustache Dauger, who got mixed up in

high level corruption and whose face had to be obscured otherwise he'd have been murdered.

It was actually for his own protection!

It's also thought he really wore a velvet mask and that he didn't have to keep it

on all the time.

The Man In The Velvet Mask doesn't sound as dramatic or interesting as a guy in an

iron one.

Having said that it makes a lot more sense to use velvet… it's much more comfortable

and you don't rust.

I'd choose velvet over iron on my face any day!!

6.

Sonic Attacks

We seem to live in an increasingly unstable world, and this was underlined late last year

when some weird attacks took place against American diplomats in Cuba.

People complained of having hearing problems, dizziness and disorientation among other symptoms

at the US Embassy in Havana.

Time Magazine reported that the problem appears to have been caused by sonic attacks, using

sound waves outside the human hearing spectrum.

These are sent using a sonic device of some kind.

Scary stuff!

The situation ended with 60% of diplomatic staff being pulled out of the country.

Americans have also been advised not to travel to Cuba because of these sonic attacks so

things are getting pretty nasty.

5.

Vile Vortices

Areas like the Bermuda Triangle are famous as locations where boats and planes mysteriously

vanish, never to be seen again.

However this isn't the only place where bizarre disappearances take place.

There's also the South Atlantic Anomaly and the Dragon's Triangle.

What is it about weird stuff and triangles?

Question for another time perhaps…!

Scottish biologist Ivan T. Anderson was interested in these subjects and founded the Society

for the Investigation of the Unexplained.

In the late 60s he began putting together a theory linking 12 areas that became known

as the Vile Vortices!

This was based on the idea of a planetary grid system containing geometric shapes, a

concept first talked about back in the days of Plato.

Anderson wanted to link the Vortices to try and get to the bottom of the disappearances.

His theory was extended by Russian scientists in the early 70s who looked at the geometric

network as a means of channelling ancient energy.

The Vile Vortices sounds like the title of a cheesy old movie, so it's difficult to

know how seriously to take this mysterious idea.

It's certainly a fascinating one though and may explain what's been going on inside

all these triangles over the years!

4.

Who was Kaspar Hauser?

Kaspar Hauser was a teenager found wandering around Nuremberg, Germany in 1828.

He was about 16 years old and seemed muddled and confused and he barely knew how to speak.

This kid became known as the Wild Child of Europe and he became extremely famous!

When he was found, he was clutching 2 letters, one supposedly from a laborer who had been

taking care of him but could no longer afford it.

Oddly the letter requested the boy be educated but at the same time be confined.

The other from his mother who said his father was in the cavalry and she wanted him to join

the military.

The only thing he could really say was his name, Kaspar Hauser.

He was taken to a police station and it was discovered he had very little vocabulary and

only liked to eat bread and water with his hands.

He was put in the care of a jailer who reported he liked to play with toys, then he was educated

and wrote his autobiography.

Word of him spread and hundreds of books, articles, plays, and even films were written

about him.

There was a conspiracy theory going around that Hauser was the heir to the throne or

the son of a Duke but that for some reason, someone got rid of him.

While he didn't grow up with wolves, the story of the boy is gets even stranger.

He claims he was attacked several times due to his fame and at 21 years old, he was found

dead.

Whether by a real assassin or by his own hand it is hard to say.

Many people claim he was just a liar and faked everything.

He could have had an undiagnosed illness or Munchausen's Disease.

Many historians claim his story, was just that, a story but it continues to intrigue

us!!

3.

Oak Island Money Pit

The Canadian land mass of Oak Island, which is found off Nova Scotia, is said to be the

site of a fabled treasure believed to date back to the days of piracy.

In the late 18th century, a teenager noticed lights on Oak Island and so the next day,

he and some friends went to investigate who might have been there.

He stumbled upon what was described as a "circular depression" of earth.

The infamous pirate Captain Kidd was rumoured to have hidden his ill-gotten gains in the

area, and the place was known for playing host to its fair share of salty sea dogs!

The teenager and his friends dug and dug, finding evidence of something being buried

but never actually finding anything shiny.

Other treasure hunters came and dug down even further, uncovering in the process a strange

stone tablet with weird symbols on it.

This was translated into a message saying 2 million pounds were buried 40 ft (12 m)

below.

Intriguing stuff, though this is starting to sound a little like a shaggy dog story!

Surprise surprise the treasure wasn't found.

As time went on, word spread and different people tried different approaches, such as

tunnelling toward the treasure from a different angle.

Every party that attempts to get to the bottom of the matter - quite literally! - winds up

finding dirt and layers of wood.

Hundreds of years later, people are still no closer to unlocking the pit's secrets.

We're thinking this could be an early example of pranking.

If it is then we take our hats off to the person who spent so long setting it up.

They make Ashton Kutcher look like a total amateur…!

Finding Noah's Ark

We all know the story of Noah's Ark, where Noah was warned that a flood was coming, and

built a large boat (the Ark) to save himself and his family and all the animals that went

in two by two.

There's also that Russell Crowe movie but that's a little crazy.

Let's focus on the traditional story, which seemed to be backed by scientific evidence

in 2007 after a discovery in Turkey!

Many people debate whether or not Noah and his adventure were real in the first place.

That's definitely the case with Noah's Ark Ministries International, a group of explorers

who went to Mt. Ararat to uncover the ancient Christian mystery.

Approaching the top of the peak at 13,000 ft (4,000 m) they found a wooden structure

buried under snow and volcanic remains.

While it's not clear if this is a boat or not, it appears to be made up of a series

of compartments.

Using radiocarbon dating the group has been able to determine the wood is nearly 5,000

years old.

Other experts have rained on the explorers' parade by casting doubt on the reliability

of radiocarbon dating for this type of find.

Some believers say it's more likely to be a tribute to the Ark rather than the Ark itself,

which is seen more as an allegorical tale.

More studies need to be done to determine if this is actually THE Ark.

What to do you think?

Is it real?

The Wow!

Signal

The Wow Signal is probably the most appropriately-named radio signal from the stars in history!

Astronomers working at the famous Big Ear telescope based at Ohio State University in

1977 recorded a very strange sound from space!

It was a 72 second burst of radio waves and on the reading, the astronomer wrote Wow!

Next to it in red pen!

This has been one of the main things cited as evidence of extraterrestrials trying to

communicate with us.

In any case no one had an explanation for it!

It was surprising both in its intensity and the specific frequency it had.

The Big Ear project was hoping to detect evidence of alien life and this weird signal was just

what they'd been looking for…

Not that it's seriously believed the origin of the Wow signal is extraterrestrial, if

so why haven't we gotten it again??

There may be another answer to this mystery.

A professor from St. Petersburg College has discovered that a pair of comets are responsible

for the signal.

He says that the Wow!

Signal was detected at 1420 MHz which is the radio frequency emitted by hydrogen.

These comets were around the area at the time, so the source of this signal may not be such

a mystery anymore!!

While the alien believers might be really disappointed out there, don't worry, there

are lots more programs listening to outerpsace, specifically for intelligent life.

Who Makes the Best Automatic Transmission Cars in the World - Duration: 5:52.

rev up your engines, welcome to my Thursday video where I answer a viewers

question and this week's question comes from Steve 701, scotty which company

makes the best automatic transmissions these days, now you might be shocked by

my answer because it's not a company that makes cars, it's a company that only

makes transmissions now when automatic transmissions first came out a lot of

the companies made their own transmissions they were pretty simple

the original GM one with four speed, six-speed, now there's even ten speed

automatics out there, so modern automatic transmissions are extremely complex many

companies have decided, hey rather than do all this research and development on

our own, we're gonna buy our transmissions from a company that only

makes automatic transmissions and it's actually works out best for most

companies actually, I'll give you a perfect example, Honda went the other way, they've

almost always built all their own automatic transmissions and they've had

notorious problems through the years with their automatic transmissions in

Accords in odyssey's they're one of the weaker automatic transmissions out there

and they make them themselves, but take Toyota, they use Aisin transmissions aisin

now I think Toyota owns 30% of the company or something but it's a separate

company and they now provide transmissions for all kinds of cars out

there, Dodge Chrysler has had so many problems with their transmissions a

lot of their trucks now and vans they're using Aisin japanese automatic

transmissions they gave up and are buying them from the Japanese, for

this video I'm talking about normal automatic transmission, I'm not talking

about CVT transmissions I'll make another video for that, because that's a

little bit different ballgame, I'm talking about regular transmissions that

have gears that are automatic in this video, now another company that sells

transmissions to all kinds of different companies, is Allison it's a company

that's based in Indianapolis, they have factories in Indiana, they have factories in

India, they even have factories in Turkey, Allison makes really good transmission

for modern vehicles, now they specialize more in truck and big truck

transmissions, if you're talking about buying a truck with the best

transmission, the Allison transmissions are excellent transmissions but even

Chrysler has switched a lot of their trucks used to have the Allison

transmissions, the big Cummins diesel engines that they made, they would made

them with Allison transmissions which was a good thing for Chrysler because that

meant that the engine and the transmission in their big trucks

weren't made by Chrysler they're made by other people that have better quality control

than chrysler does, but recently Chrysler switched and they're putting the

Japanese Aisin transmissions in a lot of their trucks and vans, and when it

comes to big trucks, strangely enough Ford and GM got together and they decided they're

going to work together to make its 10 speed automatic transmission the f-150s

had it, the Camaro's were using it, the Mustangs were using it, now from what I

read, ford did more of the development than GM did, but by the time they were

done of course Ford and GM had too many arguments they were working on a

ten-speed front wheel drive automatic to use instead of this 10 speed automatic

that was only for trucks and rear-wheel drive and that didn't work out well, GM

was doing most of the 10 speed automatic front wheel drive, so that gave up and I

doubt they'll ever work together again, now from what I've seen this 10 speed

rear wheel drive only transmission that Ford makes, it's a pretty good

transmission I've driven around in three ford vehicles, giant expedition that got

24 miles per gallon on the highway, got really good gas mileage had good

pickup and it was real fast in a Mustang so that seems to be a really

good transmission, but being rear-wheel drive only it has a limited application

that you're gonna put it in, for a normal front-wheel drive cars it doesn't fit

you can't use that one, now when I'm trying to figure out who makes the best

transmissions the main thing is, you want a transmission that shifts really good, it

has power and gas mileage and lasts a long time, and from my perspective nobody

beats Aisin transmissions, the one in my old Celica here, got 240,000 miles, I've

never done anything to it except change the fluid every 40 or 50 thousand miles

and it still shifts like a dream, I personally work on all kinds of cars as

a mechanic, and I found that other manufacturers, hey they might work okay

for eighty to a hundred thousand miles but then they get a little bit more they

start to break down, so if you're the type of person that thinks, oh I got a hundred

thousand miles out of a car that's fine by me

you can buy a lot of different makes out there, but if you want them to last the

longest with the least trouble, I've found these Aisin transmissions are the

ones that are best, the next time you're thinking about buying a car, you might

not just think about the car manufacturer itself, you might do a

little research to find out who makes the transmissions for that vehicle, cause

if it's an Aisin transmission, odds are it's gonna have a really good

transmission that lasts a long time, regardless of whoever's name is on the

car itself, and since this is the Thursday segment

where I answer a viewers question, place your own question on the youtube

comments below, and I'll pick the best ones to make a

single video to answer your questions, and where else can you find a guy with 50

years experience of fixing cars to answer your own question with a video, so

if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos, remember to

ring that Bell!

Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho transfer disappointment explained by Sky Sports pundit - Duration: 3:31.

That is the verdict of Sky Sports pundit Matt Le Tissier, who says the United gaffer has no trust in his centre-backs

Mourinho has welcomed Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic, Victor Lindelof, Alexis Sanchez, Diogo Dalot, Fred and Lee Grant to Manchester since being appointed in 2016

And, of those those 11 players, Ibrahimovic and Lukaku are the only two who can be viewed as a real successes, with Dalot and Fred still needing time to make their mark

Pogba and Sanchez have been the most high-profile flops of the Jose Mourinho era at United

And the Portuguese will be hoping for much better from them when Manchester United visit Chelsea on Saturday

Le Tissier has now offered his take on why the Red Devils are so far off the pace set by Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool

And he believes Mourinho will be unhappy about how the transfer deals that have happened under his watch have panned out

"If you look at United on paper they should challenge but I just don't think Mourinho has any trust in his centre-backs and he doesn't know what his best pairing is," Le Tissier told Sky Sports

"He seems disappointed with the players he brought in as he would expect more from them

" United travel to Chelsea this weekend seven points adrift of the early pacesetters

And Mourinho will be under yet more pressure if his side are beaten by Maurizio Sarri's men

Le Tissier's Sky Sports colleague Charlie Nicholas believes a defeat could spell trouble for the United gaffer

And he's expecting a few departures during the January transfer window if the 55-year-old is kept on

"United finished second last year so they've got loads of quality, they just can't fit it in and if Mourinho can't than who can?" Nicholas said

"They've got too many midfielders looking for the same places. "I'm not convinced by the centre of their midfield and he's tried every solution at the back but just can't find the answer

"They're way, way off and if they lose this game, it'll be all the questions about him losing his job again

"Even if he keeps his job, and they're playing like this, I can see four or five players being moved on in January

"

Floyd Mayweather confirms 2019 fight plans: Conor McGregor AND Khabib scraps ON - Blog news - Duration: 3:25.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR has confirmed he plans to fight Conor McGregor AND Khabib Nurmagomedov next year

Following UFC 229 earlier this month, where Khabib Nurmagomdedov defeated Conor McGregor via fourth round submission, talk has turned to who their next fights will be

McGregor is keen on a rematch but his opponent seems set on going into the boxing ring with Mayweather

Nurmagomdedov recently called out the undefeated boxing champion, urging him to take up the offer of a fight

And Mayweather has now responded, saying he'll fight Nurmagomdedov AND rematch McGregor in 2019

"McGregor was talking that s**t, so it ain't over," he told TMZ."After me and Khabib lock up, me and McGregor we gonna lock up again

".McGregor suffered a 10th-round TKO loss to Mayweather in the ring in Las Vegas in August last year in a fascinating encounter

'Money,' (50-0), is keen to cash in on more paydays with the pair ready to box, although the American is keen to dictate the terms on which he fights the UFC stars in proposed negotiations

"When I face Khabib, of course I am getting a nine-figure payday," he said."More than the McGregor fight

Probably $100m more - I'm going to say between $110m and $200m (more) guaranteed

"We fighting. I'm my own boss, so I can't say what's going on at Khabib's end, but at my end we can make it happen

"I'm Floyd Mayweather. I'm the A-side, you call me out you come into my world.".Nurmagomedov is waiting to hear the full extent of his punishment from the UFC after attacking one of McGregor's coaches in the immediate aftermath of his win in Vegas

There are claims Nurmagomedov may quit the UFC for good - and a move to boxing would certainly suggest he will turn his back on mixed martial arts

And it is now looking increasingly likely Mayweather will come out of retirement once again in hope of becoming the first man, at the 28th attempt, to inflict a defeat on Nurmagomedov

Is There A Deficiency In Food Nutrients? - Duration: 1:48.

Hey guys! I appreciate you tuning in for this episode of the mental minute. Today,

I'm going to be talking about the generalization and really the

oversimplification of the Dietary Guidelines found on the interwebs today.

The biggest fallacy known to mankind is thinking that the nutritional

information that you hear about or read about applies 100% to you. Rarely if ever

it does. It's a good starting point but is rarely a good ending point because we're

all completely different. I googled "how much vitamin D do I need a day?", and the

first article came back and said based on my age, I think, I should be taking an

additional five micrograms every single day. It didn't ask me what I ate, how I ate,

whether I was active, whether I was outside. The point is is that five

micrograms was the average amount that the average person should be taken in

order to stave off any sort of future illness. For me, the starting point should

always be that we're not getting enough nutrients from the foods that we eat. Our

nutrition from the foods that we eat is not that great. So instead of asking "how

much more vitamin D I should be taking?" The question should be, "how much more

vitamin D should you be getting from the foods that you already eat?" That's the

trick. Hey guys! Did you enjoy the video? Hopefully you learned something in the

past 60 seconds that you could take with you on your daily treks through life. But

here's the thing. It's the end of the video so you're either glutton for

punishment or you want to see some sort of mistakes.

Speaking of mistakes, I guess this is a good time to say if you didn't like the

video, comment below and let me know something that you didn't

stuff, as well as a couple of other recommendations on videos that I put up.
