I lived abroad for many years and when I moved back...
Carrara was one of the first places I deeply wanted to see
My grandfather is born in a village not far from here
he didn't work the marble, he worked the woods. He was very poor.
When I came and I visited, I fell in love with the place
maybe also with my melancholy of being Italian
and all the changes that the country is going through
and I didn't have the time or the money to follow up with such a project
but it really kept pushing in my mind
and it also came with a name. It was: "bianca"
"bianco" means "white", "bianca" is female, like "Italia" is a female name
and so for me Italia was Bianca.
and I kept this in my mind until I found a way to come back here and work on the project
And so I look at power and marble, but also history and memory
and to come back to this place today and look for this contradiction
between the past and the future, the art and technology
is what really fascinate me.
When you look at the people living in these villages
you can certainly say that this is a residual reality
this is what is called "provincia", you know: the suburbs of Italy
the people we're meeting, they love the mountains and they ask respect for the marble.
they're really worried that this natural resource has been spoiled by international companies
and the richness coming from it has not been shared in the public and social environment.
When people ask me about my photography
I usually say that I make a portrait the way I'd make a landscape
and I'd make a landscape the way I make a portrait
it means that I'm not searching for beautiful panoramas but more about a conversation in the landscapes
and when I take a picture of people I'm usually looking at the body language
the way they keep their hands, their mouth
and especially for a human interaction and a real encounter between me and them
in the last years I started shooting by night more and more. I'm fascinated by long exposure
and what happens when we take the night and we push the lights until it seems almost daylight.
We usually associate marble with privilege and richness
but when you come here you can look at it as the veins of the mountains and the real blood.
The quarry are really like a cradle for the people living here
and it's interesting to see the interaction between the man made landscape
and the wildness of the mountains.
I'm a very technical photographer, I come from large format photography with film
and today I'm using a digital medium format
I've chosen a 45mm lens because I think it's the best lens for reportage.
I can do landscape and portraiture as well.
Using medium format is not really just about the number of pixels, but it's the quality of the lenses.
We use to say that a 45mm lens with digital medium format is the equivalent of a 35mm
but every time I'm not really satisfied with this definition
because if it's true that this is the area that you can frame,
the quality of the lens is really different.
Even in the landscape you can have a tree in focus and the background very very soft.
For this project I've been deeply inspired by an artist from 20th century: Arturo Martini.
He's not a photographer, but he's actually an artist working with sculptures.
And in one of his books, "Sculpture as a dead language",
he wrote two things that made me think a lot:
the first one is that in his opinion sculpture is a very limited art, maybe it's not really art at all
because when you do a sculpture, it seems almost like a cast from real life
and he made a comparison with photography that makes a cast of light
so it cannot really be inventive and develop its own language
but, as a hope, he said that every form of art should try to reach a 4th dimension.
And so every time I photograph, I ask myself
how can I actually break the limitation of the cast of light
to bring people in a different dimension.
My name is Giulia Bianchi, I'm a documentary photographer

and the 45mm lens.

The wendigo may appear as a creature with the characteristics of a human, or as a spirit
who has possessed a human being and made them become monstrous.

The first video was recorded by a couple who noticed strange sounds, while on a hiking
trip in the forest.
What could they capture that day ?
While camping with a couple of friends over teh weekend, this man caught the wendigo creature
in the background.

This clip might be familiar to many of you as the fallen angel footage - some do claim
it was a wendigo though.
What is your opinion ?
These guys were following a local urban legend that a wendigo resides close to the local
woods, in an abandoned building.
Could they capture him on camera this time ?
Another group of young explorers heard a rumor that a classmate saw a strange creature lurking
around an abandoned building in their area.
This boy and a friend were hearing odd noises and screams stemming from the shack that was
close to their forest.
Some do say they caught the rake.. or was
it
a wendigo?
These boys also seem to get surprised, by a human looking creature, that seems to run
after them in the middle
of
the night.

miniProject #23: Simple wireless interface using nRF24L01 - Duration: 3:58.
I have always enjoyed playing with RC toy cars and now that I know a bit of electronics
I intend to make one.
In that case I will definitely need a wireless interface in this video lets create one such
wireless interface using nRF24L01 along with arduino to transmit potentiometer reading
from one end to another.
Lets get started.
For this miniProject I bought bunch of nRF24L01 and two 3.3v arduino pro mini as nRF24L01
is 3.3v compatible device I also bought FT232RL FTDI USB to UART converter as it has DTR pin
which is needed while programming arduino pro mini. miniTalk #3 covers this topic in
detail don't forget to check it out.
nRF24L01 is single chip transceiver operating in 2.4GHz ISM band its supply voltage range
from 1.9 to 3.6 V. It consumes 11.3 mA at 0dbm transmission power and 13.5 mA at 2 Mbps
air data rate.
it also provides four transmitter power settings and three different data rate settings it
uses SPI as interface to micro-controllers.
Breakout board of nRF24L01 available in market contains 8 pins which segregated to 2 supply
pins, 4 SPI pins, 1 chip enable and 1 interrupt pin.
I connected nRF24L01 module to arduino pro mini as shown in this schematic connections
of transmitter ans receiver sides are identical except transmitter contains potentiometer
whose valve will be received by receiver.
I used female jumper wires to put together receiver circuitry and used breadboard along
with some jumper wires to put together transmitter circuitry.
Once that was done I moved to coding part.
First we need to install required dependency i.e a library called RF24.
Go to sketch include library manage libraries search for RF24 and install it.
Now lets write code for transmitter side.
Include SPI and RF24 libraries.
Create variable for potentiometer and a variable of RF24 class with chip enable and chip select
pins.
Also create a variable defining address of pipe used by transmitter to send data.
In setup, declare potentiometer pin as INPUT, radio.begin will initialize operation of nRF
chip.
isChipConnected will verify if nRF is connected to SPI pins, do not proceed until it returns
1.
Now open writing pipe, set power amplifier level ans call stopListening function this
will put nRF in transmitter mode.
In loop part read analog pin value and transmit it using write function.
That's it for transmitter side.
In receiver code again include SPI and RF24 libraries.
create variable of RF24 class and create address variable with same value as transmitter.
In setup, initialize serial interface and check for SPI connectivity.
Open reading pipe set power amplifier level and start listening.
In loop, wait for data availability and if available, read it and display on serial monitor.
I uploaded code to respective boards and I was able to move potentimeter at one end and
receive its value at another.

X-E3: Marco Tortato x Venice / FUJIFILM - Duration: 6:16.
Venice is probably one of the most visited and photographed city in the world
It's my city and it's where I was born
She can be a mother, she can be a lover
she can cuddle you, and she can make love to you
this is the reason why we're here in this beautiful cafe
to talk about this project and this new Fujifilm camera
Venice is a continuos stimulus
you can find a place and a spot where to take a picture in probably every corner
every step you take in Venice is good for photographs
we will be in a boat, and boats are very friendly to Venetians
and this is the place where we most feel comfortable
and this is going to be the place where we're going to see the city
shooting from a boat can be a complex adventure: there's little room for anything
it's quite an unstable environment and,,, it's moving!
so, when I shoot from a boat, what I need is:
a very compact camera, a very easy to use tool and quick and reliable autofocus and continuous focus
I found these 3 things in the new Fujifilm X-E3
this is why I decided to use this camera for this project
Few people have the privilege to be in a boat every time they want
and every time of the day
taking picture of Venice from a very unusual and unique point of view
This is the soul of this project: "Venice as seen from the water"
And this tool has allowed me to bring this project to birth
in a very professional way
For my job I usually use a Fuji X-T2
so the X-E3 has almost everything I found in my X-T2:
a powerful sensor, a quick processor, a very quick autofocus
and Fujifilm has put amazingly all these technologies
into one compact, light, and pretty body
even though the X-E3 is the X-T2 little brother, it has every thing I need
every thing is at hand:
the speed shutter dial, the compensation dial, the aperture dial
and all the buttons are at the right place
the good thing is that I had the old X-E2 and it didn't have the focus joystick
so the focus joystick becomes your main control
with it you can control almost everything
and this, combined to the touchscreen, makes this camera very easy to use,
It's easy to use also in difficult situations
because you have different ways to do different things
or to do the same things if you want
so you can focus from the touchscreen or from the shutter button
you can change the focal point from the touchscreen or with the joystick
One of the features that I like best of this camera is probably the viewfinder
I'm used to the X-T2 viewfinder and finding it in this little camera make me very happy
I usually set all the information "ON" on my viewfinder
so that I have: the electronic level, the histogram
and I can control my exposure very precisely directly from the live view into the viewfinder
I find it useful to have a bluetooth connection combined with a wi-fi connection
The bluetooth connection keeps it connected continuously with the smartphone
which makes it quicker to operate the camera from the smartphone
I found myself using several times my smartphone as a remote control
because it was easier to use it from there
rather than going back to the position where the camera was
either on a tripod or on an arm, and it was much faster
My favourite configuration for the X-E3 was with a 23mm f/1,4
it's my favourite lens and I use it very often
I also used it with an 18mm f/2
...and sometimes with a long lens: the 50-140mm
With the 18mm I could maintain the compactness of the X-E3
While using the long lens (50-140mm), even though it could appear very heavy,
I didn't find that the configuration was unbalanced
The winning point for this camera is compactness
and we are used to associates compactness to compromise,
but for this camera it's not compromise, it's just smaller.

Decagon Shape | Polygon Shape | - Duration: 2:13.
Welcome to MooMooMath and Science In this video, I would like to talk about
the decagon shape. A decagon is a 10 sided polygon
A quick review of polygons A polygon has straight lines, is a closed
shape, and does not have curved lines. Circles and shapes that include curves are
not polygons
A regular decagon has 10 equal sides and 10 equal angles.
The formula for the sum of all interior angles of a polygon equals
(n-2) x 180 n = the number of sides If you do the math you get 1440 degrees
The degree measure of each interior angles equals sum of all interior angles divided
by the number of sides 1440/10 = 144 degrees
A decagon has 35 diagonals You can Find the number of diagonals by using,
n (n - 3) / 2 n = number vertices Here's the Math
You can find the measure of the central angle by dividing 360 degrees by 10 which equals
36 degrees
You can find the area of a decagon by multiplying
½ perimeter times apothem
If you do not know the Apothem you can find the length of the apothem by using
the side/ 2Tan ( 180/number sides) Tangent will be in degrees
Once you know Apothem then use
½ Perimeter times Apothem
Decagons can also be irregular which means the shape does not have equal sides or angles

pumpkin spice themed fall menu along with a particular baked good that I
actually missed out on that first time around let's fix that up right now by
going in to get one yeah peep this out let me go for one of those pumpkin and
cream pies please and that's all just one

definitely an awesome baked pumpkin spice flavor in the car guys let's slide
this one out of the box you guys can see how flaky this apparently looks here
this is actually pretty nice in terms of the presentation here it's definitely
got that flaky appearance and coated with sugar on the very top it looks like
there guys have a look in the middle as you guys can see on the inside you've
got a strip of that pumpkin goodness and then it looks like on the very top we've
got a little bit of the cream on the inside let me break this one towards you
real fast here in the middle so you guys can see it before I do have a look and
see how they do it here at McDonald's there you go the pumpkin goodness right
there on the side and on the other side we've got the cream filling there so
let's give this one a shot a definitely looks pretty tasty it's the pumpkin and
cream pie here at McDonald's already dig them what looks like those granulated
sugar crystals on the top hmm that pumpkin instantly jumps out at you on
top of the nice flaky crust this is actually encased in but I got to be
honest the cream itself is a little bit more of the cream cheese type filling
and I'm not really a super fan of that but I really like how hearty it tastes
because of the rich creamy flavor but again the cream cheese flavor on its own
is not something that I'd probably recommend pairing with pumpkin only
because I think a whip type of cream would have gone so much better but being
that they have to bake these I understand why it needs to be a little
bit thicker but I really like the flavor of this guys it actually is pretty good
and for like $0.97 after-tax it's not bad at all mm-hmm let me give you one
more shot on the inside guys as you can see the cream cheese filling is of the
thicker variety and if you're really down with that type of flavor on
desserts I think you'll like this but for me I don't think it goes very well
with pumpkin but it is a pretty nice flavor on its own but as always that's
just my opinion like I said if you're down with that type of cream filling
with pumpkin you're probably gonna like this a lot but what do you guys
personally think of this one if you've had the pumpkin and cream pie here at
McDonald's drop a comment down below let me know if you think it's worth trying
again if you've had it last year and if it's your first time trying it how
amazing was it to you I'm always curious to hear what you guys have to say so
drop those comments down below and as for the overall rating I'm gonna have to
give the pumpkin and cream pie here at McDonald's a pretty decent
7 out of 10 this is definitely way above average I'm absolutely diggin the pumpkin
filling that they're using in this as well as the flaky crust that it's baked

And the second week, we should be doing more
