Heading to the Czech Republic - direction Blansko
Hello there!
Hi!
So we are in Blansko,
in the Czech Republic, and we are heading
to the relay race 5 + 5 km
Barefoot!
We decided that we are going together barefoot.
We're looking forward to it,
gonna have a look at the racing area and this town.
See you, later!
So this is the starting place for today's race.
Asphalt looks very good.
An hour to start
We did breathing exercise with Stanley,
before the running,
so, we are ready for our relay race.
My part of the race will begin in an hour
I'll be the first runner.
So I look forward to it. The weather is very pleasant,
it is mostly cloudy, here,
so I hope everything will be ok. I look forward to it.
Atmosphere before the start
So, it's here. Start!
Let's go for it, woohoo!
Soon, there will be the half of the race,
where we turn back.
Happy finisher, the relay is passed
"It looks that we could see the winner..."
"So he is here. Ladies and gentlemen..."
"Abdelkabir Saji
is the winner of Blanenska desitka 2017."
"Fantastic performance of this Moroccan
living in the Czech Republic."
So my part of the relay race is finished,
Stanley is running now,
so I hope he will enjoy his run.
So, I'm glad, I think I improved my PR for 5 km.
I will see in the official results list.
I really liked this race, it was good.
Just as I ran the sun was shining, as always.
It's cloudy, now.
Now, I wait on Stanley,
we'll tell you then our impressions.
Stanley is finishing our relay race
Common, common! Go go go!
Fantastic!
Your time?
Oh, time, yes!
24:55
Wow, congrats!
So we did it barefoot, together!
The route of the race
Short resumé
Hello there after the race,
with fantastic beer.
This is not a paid ad! ;-)
So my resumé...
this is a very nice place, I have to say
there is very beautiful nature around, hills,
so I feel very good here in this environment.
Organization of this event is very good,
I'm really satisfied, I have nothing bad to say.
And about my running...
In the beginning, I was too fast,
so my first kilometer was markedly fast,
so I needed to fix it in the next kilometers.
But it's ok. Another lecture for the future.
I let faster runners influence my tempo.
The route was fine,
pretty flat,
I felt good during the run,
asphalt was quite good,
its surface was little bit harder for the rest of the route.
I tried to ignore it,
and focus on my run.
And I'm glad that I finished in good time,
I have to say, In very good time!
As a second runner of the relay, I await her arrival
much later.
I wanted to stop for a beer and suddenly, she is here!
So I improved my personal record on 5 km
for 1 or 2 minutes, so I'm happy.
This was my first relay race,
it's little bit different than race when you run alone.
I felt more responsible for the result,
and tried to do my best because I didn't want to spoil it
for Stanley.
But of course, I ran in my own limits,
I tried to keep my pace according to
my breath capabilities.
So it was fine and I am really satisfied,
and now Stanley...
So I will say just short resumé because
this is Sue's vlog.
Organization of this event was really good,
I have nothing bad to say, and I attended some races.
And concerning changing rooms, depository,
but yes, we will see if our things are still there.
Toilets and everything other was ok.
We've got some benefits like beer, energy bar.
The environment is very nice, mostly hilly.
People here are very nice, good atmosphere here,
various disciplines here like inline skates, scooters
a lot of children.
And about running...
this wasn't my first relay race, I ran already some like
"From Tatras to the Danube", or "Slovakia run"
but it was a different type of relay race,
this was just about two people.
I also thought that I don't want to spoil it for Sue,
and it was my first official barefoot race.
Before I ran for 3 km barefoot, but it wasn't a race.
So this race was for 5 km, longer distance.
The route was very good also for inliners, asphalt
was very very good and smooth,
sometimes there was something, but I can say
one of the best asphalt surfaces.
Indeed, this Blanenska desitka race
should be run barefoot.
I can just recommend it.
My feet survived it without any harm.
Mine, too.
No problem.
Surely.
We were here as the only barefoot couple.
And probably only two barefoot runners here, actually.
So I'm glad today, a lot of "for the first time" stuff.
And I believe I will come next year.
I liked it here.
See you, bye!
