DIY Plywood Cart, Lumber Rack & LED Shop Lighting // Woodworking Shop Projects - Duration: 11:11.What's going on everybody? I'm Johnny Brooke, welcome back to another Crafted Workshop video.
In today's video, I've got three more shop organization related projects for you.
I know it's been a lot of shop organization here lately with last week's French cleat
project but it is the beginning of the new year, and I'm getting geared up to film my
yearly shop tour video. I wanted to get everything nice and tidy before doing that.
The first project I'm going to show you is this plywood and sheet goods cart back here.
It's great for storing full sheets of plywood as well as offcuts, which I hang onto probably
way too many plywood offcuts.
The second thing I'm going to work on is this lumber storage system here. I've got a commercially
available lumber rack up here and then I repurposed the lumber rack I already had down here. The
combination of the two gives me a ton of lumber storage and it's out of way in this long,
vertical, weird hallway space I have.
And then the last thing I'm going to show you is this new LED shop lighting I installed
both here in this hallway and out in my shop. This is all from American Green Lights. Super
high quality LED light, really high Color Rendering Index (CRI), which means they represent
color really true to life.
Also, all of my shop lights are now the same color temperature, so when I move from one
area of the shop to another, I don't have to mess with the white balance on my video.
Hopefully you guys enjoy these, and let's go ahead and get started with the first build.
After searching around online a little bit for plywood carts, I found an example from
Wood Magazine that I really liked, and it's actually one that Jay Bates had built in a
previous video as well. I bought the plans for the cart, and I'll have a link to those
in the video description in case you're wanting to build one of these for yourself.
These l-shaped pieces provide support at the ends of the cart and also provide a place
for the casters to mount to, which you'll see later. I attached these pieces with glue
and a couple of 2 ½" screws.
Next, I started building the frame of the base. First, I attached one piece of 2x4 perpendicular
to the end of the longer 2x4 using 2 ½" screws.
I then attached one of the l-shaped pieces next to the first piece, again using 2 ½"
screws.
Working my way down the base, I added one of the center support pieces, which is spaced
roughly 29" from the left side of the base.
Next, I repeated the same process at the other end of the base, attaching the same pieces
but mirrored to fit the right side of the base.
With half of the base assembled, I then attached the 8 foot long 2x6 to the other side of the
base. This 2x6 will provide a lip for the sheet goods to rest against.
Again, I connected everything with 2 ½" screws. Also, while pre-drilling was really
necessary with the self-tapping screws I used, I found that the screws were a lot easier
to drive and also looked cleaner when I pre-drilled the holes first.
With the framing of the base finished, I broke the sheet of ¾" plywood down into strips,
the first of which made up the bottom panel on the base.
Before attaching the panel to the base, I needed to notch it out so that the side panels
could be attached later. I did this with the jigsaw.
To attach the panel to the base, I used 1 ¼" screws, making sure the heads were below
the surface of the plywood so that sheets of plywood could be slid on and off of the
cart without catching on screw heads.
Next, I cut the side panels to length from the strips of plywood I ripped earlier. The
center panel is shorter than the side panels here.
All of the panels are tapered from top to bottom, so that the sheets of plywood will
lean back when loaded onto the cart. I marked this taper using my track as a straight edge,
and then started to make the cut using a jigsaw before realizing that the pieces were too
thick.
I added some blue tape to connect the three panels, and then moved to the bandsaw to make
the cut on all three panels at the same time.
I ended up with a slightly wavy cut, it's probably actually time for this blade to be
sharpened, but I ran the pieces over the jointer a few times to just clean up the edge.
The center panel has a few notches cut out to accept the 2x4 cross supports, so I marked
those out according to the plans and then cut out the notches using the jigsaw.
Next, I attached the side panels to the base using glue and 1 ¼" screws. You can see
here why I needed to notch out the bottom panel for the side panels to fit into place.
Also, it really helps to drop one of the side panels during assembly.
With the side panels in place, I could go ahead and add the center panel. I figured
it'd be easiest to go ahead and attach one of the 2x4 cross supports to the center panel
before adding it to the cart, since it would help keep the panel upright during the assembly
process. I made sure the 2x4 was square to the panel and then attached it with two 2
1/2" screws.
Next, I put the center panel in place, making sure it was square to the base, and then attached
the side panels to the 2x4 support, again making sure everything was nice and square.
With one of the cross supports in place, I could go ahead and attach the other three
cross supports the same way, with two screws at each end as well as in the center.
After all of the cross supports were installed, I added a few screws off camera from the underside
of the cart, through the bottom panel into the center panel to just hold it in place
a little more.
The last piece to add to the cart was the casters, which I installed using a few 1 ¼"
screws.
Finally, I awkwardly flipped over the cart, which was massive at this point, and then
got it loaded up with all of the various sheet goods around my shop. This cart holds a surprising
amount of off cuts and full sheets and is going to be a super convenient addition to
my lumber storage system.
The next project for this hallway was improving my lumber storage. I have super tall walls
in this area, so I wanted to capitalize on that height by adding some vertical lumber
storage.
I found these Bora lumber racks on sale at my local Lowes for $20 for each pair, and
I figured I couldn't beat that price by building something myself. They go together
really easily, just a couple of screws hold everything in place.
To install the racks, first I marked 16" from the closest wall and then marked the
hole for the uppermost screw for the rack.
To attach the racks to my concrete block walls, I used 2 ¾" Tapcon screws. I used a masonry
bit that was matched to the diameter of my screws to pre-drill the holes, which is a
loud and messy process. I'm always a little jealous of people who have drywall and stud
walls in their shops.
After hanging the rack on the first screw, I checked the rack for plumb and then marked
the locations of the other two holes, using a drill bit to mark the holes. I then removed
the rack and drilled the holes to full depth, before reinstalling the rack permanently.
To install the second rack, I referenced off of the first rack, making sure it was level
with the first, and just continued the process of adding more screws, just like the first
rack.
I just kept working my way down the wall until I had all six racks hung, and then I could
get it loaded with all my lumber. For $60 total, I definitely don't think I could
have done better making this myself, especially when I consider the labor time involved when
trying to do a DIY option here.
The last update to this area of the shop was adding some lighting to make the space more
useable. In this hallway, I used six of these 4 foot 24 watt LED shop lights from American
Green Lights, who are a manufacturer of really high quality LED lighting.
These shop lights are available in different lengths and wattages to suit your specific
needs, but six of them spaced evenly along this hallway gave me nice, even lighting the
full length of the hallway.
Also, before moving on, I want to mention that I am not an electrician and that you
should check your local code requirements and consult an electrician before trying anything
I'm showing here.
With that out of the way, first I wired an extension cord to the first light in the chain
so I could just plug it into the existing outlet which is controlled with a light switch.
I then daisy-chained two more lights onto the first light, and repeated this process
for each half of the hallway, so that I had three lights running on each chain.
I used 14/2 Romex to connect the lights, since this is a 15 amp circuit, and before you get
outraged in the comments, I am going to go back and add EMT conduit between each light
this weekend once I have an extra set of hands to help me out.
These lights are super simple to wire, I just connected the hot to hot, neutral to neutral,
and ground to ground.
To attach the lights to my ceiling, I used self-tapping metal screws and used three screws
for each fixture. The lights come in two parts, the enclosure for the wiring and then the
panel with the LEDs on them. These parts are pre-wired with snap connectors that just snap
together, and the LED panel attaches to the enclosure with a few included screws.
Super simple to install and the lighting improvement is amazing.
Alright, the last upgrade I want to show you guys are these Retrofit Kits from American
Green Lights. These are LED strips that are designed to replace the fluorescent bulbs
in your standard fluorescent troffers which I happen to already have in my shop.
The really cool thing about these is the voltage required for these is super, super low, it
actually will run on doorbell wire, so you can surface mount these even if your shop
doesn't have a full ceiling, even if it's just joists, you can just screw these right
to the joists, and then run doorbell wire exposed, no need for conduit or anything like
that since it's so low voltage, and you get really nice lighting that's super easy to
add pretty much anywhere.
The way these are powered are with these drivers. Each one of these drivers will power two of
these 24W strips, that's the ones I went with, and then these just need to be hooked up to
your standard 120V.
What's really cool is you can put a bunch of these drivers in one enclosure, mount that
on your wall and run one line of 120V power into it, and then run doorbell wire all over
the place and get lighting where you don't have power available.
Andy Klein actually did this exact thing in a video on his channel with these American
Green Light kits and it turned out really great. I actually haven't done that yet, I've
just replaced them in my florescent troffers. I'll have a link to Andy's video in the video
description below if you want to check that out.
Let me go ahead and show you how these install in these florescent troffers just so you can
see how those work there.
To open these up, you just pull these two little tabs, there's one on each end, then
they drop down. There are always bugs in here, so look out!
Anyway, you can see how these are mounted. I just used some self-tapping sheet metal
screws and screwed them right into the troffers themselves.
You can see that one of these strips is the equivalent light output of two of these 4
foot standard florescent bulbs, so I only had to install two strips per troffer.
You can either remove the ballast like I did here, that powered the original florescent,
or you can even leave them in place, so that, if you were going to be moving, you could
just basically remove this, reconnect the line voltage back to the ballasts, and then
you'd be able to put back in the florescent lights.
Super, super simple to install, I did 16 troffers in here, and I did them all in less than a
day, and the light quality is just so, so much better.
This is a great option if you have these florescent troffers in your shop, and they're a lot less
power, I think they use about 50% less power then florescent, so you'll actually make your
money back depending on how long you're going to be using these.
Alright, hopefully you guys found some of these projects useful. I know I am really
excited to have this new hallway opened up for me and all of this new lighting in the
shop.
Now, I installed all of these Retrofit Kits a few months ago, and some of you guys actually
even noticed the lighting improvement in the shop, so I'm glad that's noticeable to you
guys, the viewers.
I want to thank the folks at American Green Lights again for supporting the channel by
providing all of the lighting for this video. If you guys want to learn more about them,

FIRST SAILBOAT EVER TO COME HERE! - SAILING FOLLOWTHEBOAT Ep 95 - Duration: 21:34.So we've decided to leave the fabulously astonishingly beautiful area
around Pedjaul, and we've chosen a day where it's pretty windy-ish...
Very wet.
Typical tropical weather. You know, one perfect day and in the next it's at all
grey and like this. Anyway we've got wind on the nose, there's 15 knots of it, and it's
only about a 12-15 mile passage. But the end bits gonna be very interesting...
We've got shoals, we've got reefs either side, and we're gonna have to weave our way
through using some waypoints before we can set anchor... At waterfall Bay.
So we'll keep you posted
So we're here, but where's the waterfall? Aha. The reason the waterfall isn't here is
because we didn't go to Waterfall Bay in the end! As you may have seen earlier,
it's a pretty crappy day, overcast, rain, quite a bit of wind, waves all that stuff
that you get when you're in a boat. So as we were going along we kept seeing some
rather interesting bits of land and islands with little nooks and crannies.
So we had another look at the charts, and we chose to come here instead.
It's a village, it's obviously a fishing village because there are fish traps and fish
farms all along here. Doesn't have a name, we're not quite sure where it is. We're
go and investigate tomorrow, but at the moment... it's lovely here, it's really
very, very pretty. Surrounded by mountains, high mountains, loads of jungle and
pretty houses.
We've had two atrocious days of weather. Very heavy rain, thick dark clouds...
so it's not been great for videoing, photography, or even jumping in the
dinghy exploring. But today we've had a break, and it's a little bit overcast
still but we've got blue patches. And we've just hopped in the dinghy
and we're going to go ashore to this little village here which we're anchored
up by. It's a kind of v-shaped bay, with coral reefs all around it. And along one
side of the reefs are these fishing, stilted...
I suppose they're fish traps really, fish farms maybe, with little sheds on top
of some of them. And it is set in among the... - I forgot the name, I found the
name yesterday because it was in one of the charts we were using - but this has
a name, this bay, it's a strait. Very sort of fjord-like. And this village,
certainly from the boat, looks quite pretty. So we thought we'd go ashore and
have a look.
It's very shallow around here. The village is almost divided in two halves, a couple of
houses up to the north, and then a few more down to the south of the mosque.
But then in the middle they've got this huge, great big area, which is extremely
shallow. So shallow in fact that we had to park the dinghy up in the water, tied to
a little mangrove growth there. And so we're just going to go for a wander
behind me. And there is a road, there is actually a road, even though a lot of these
islands are very independent, they do seem to be linked somewhat by tracks and
pathways.
One thing I think quite a few of you may ask of these villages,
seemingly stuck in the middle of nowhere, is where they get their water from?
Well, in this village as we walk past the little clearing heading up into the
hills, we can see on the floor a number of plastic pipes, and they meet the main
pathway where I'm standing now. And they shoot off in that direction, that
direction, and a few more to feed the houses in front of us. So there's
obviously some kind of natural spring up in the hill, which they're feeding from.
Well this is a first, we've never seen this before...
I don't think in the Anambas yet. We see these, we call them "longtails" - of course
that's the Thai name for the fishing boats here - But they're all wood,
and hand-made. This is the first time that we've actually seen them being made.
We've got two guys behind me here, who are just currently... they're
actually caulking and putting in the waterproofing between each wooden
slat. They're using some kind of gum resin... don't know what is, no idea.
They're literally using their hands to bead the caulking into each slat.
You can see behind me on this side, the pile of hardwood that they're using.
It's a red hardwood. Not sure what it is, probably indigenous to the islands.
But it's beautiful, it really is a beautiful work of art.
So you can see already, Liz has managed to pick up three children, one of whom is
our guide, "Wayne Rooney" I think his name is. And he's very sweetly given Liz an
hibiscus, a very big pink hibiscus, as a welcoming present.
Unusually for these islands, we're actually over a hill.
You can see Esper in the distance over there
And I say unusually because most of these islands, most of these villages,
are like this. All the buildings are on sea level. They seem to have some
kind of walkway along here which isn't finished. Either that or it is some kind
of breakwater.
But instead, we have ascended a short hill you can hear...
how unfit I am by me being out of breath. And we've climbed up the hill to get a
lovely perspective of our anchorage.
The boys seem to be taking us somewhere in
particular, we've no idea where.
So Wayne Rooney here, has been showing me the
mango trees, which I think they planted, because they seem very, very proud of
them, in amongst all the coconuts.
School? Sekolah? Yeah!...OK.
Yeah, that's what they say: "Pom-pom"... Which is the name of course of these boats I
forgot the name of them. Of course! They're called this because they make a noise,
the single-cylinder (I think they're single-cylinder engines)
When you hear them motor past, going pom-pom-pom-om-pom...
Hence the name!
We were just saying it smells nice!
Fresh-cut wood. Love it. Love it.
And a slight hint of epoxy or something...probably not epoxy... I don't know what it is...
So it's called pom-pom!
These kids are great! We're just following them around, and
they're taking us to all the sights. We've just seen a pom-pom, as we know
what they're called now, they're "longtail boats" on one side. And we're now going to
go to the school, which even without Google Translate we worked out that
sekolah (or a esekolah) I'll check it later, is very clearly "school". So this I know
is new because I've checked Google Earth on satellite images and on satellite
images: this is just a great big space. So they've raised the trees here to
make way for the school, so I think this is relatively new. And they're obviously
very proud of it ,because they've been racing around this pathway to get us
here, so we can find... go and have a look at their new school!
What is this, Wayne Rooney? What is this? Strawberry?
Strawberry!
I was told this is "books-books". We've got a little case here,
with some books and magazines and pamphlets and things over here.
And another one over there in the corner. Other than that, it's completely
just plain white floor. It all looks quite new. So I think this is great.
They're obviously investing quite a bit of money in education here, which is marvellous.
And you said in the other building they had a big atlas. Yeah, in the other
building here, which is also quite new compared to there, was a big, big picture
taking up the whole of one wall of the world! And then on the other,
opposite corner, there was one just of Asia, almost the same size.
This is old, it's falling apart, there's holes in the roof.
Generator, by the looks of things.
We found the football pitch, which is behind me. It's a little bit overgrown,
though. It's probably a bit too hot to play football, so why not dry your
hide out, instead?
As we've been walking through the village with our entourage,
I've been trying the few words that I know in Bahasa, but mainly using my phone,
to find out if they had fish? No. If they had anything else? No. If there was
a shop? No. And if we could get a coffee? No. Anyway... this is the shop.
And apparently, they're gonna do us a coffee, which is brilliant.
Inside the shop!
This is the grocery store, which sell basics. And Sen and Ha, who are sitting over here,
Sen is by the window, and he is a teacher at the nursery school and the
primary school that we went to visit. And this is Ha, and Ha is the proprietor of
the shop. He is very kindly, rather than just selling us the sachet of coffee
and a tea, he's actually made us tea and coffee because we were a little bit
dehydrated. And, of course, we have the usual entourage of the boys as well, who
are watching our every move. So we say "terima kasih!" Thank you very much, thank you.
Did you get that? Yeah. His name is Bajar not Wayne Rooney, no not Wayne Rooney.
You have Rooney on your back, on here Rooney. Yes. [Laughter]
There's a cengkeh tree, here. Can you explain what that is?
What a cengkeh tree?
Yeah. A cengkeh tree is a clove tree. And there are a few of them around here, and some of
the guys farm them and they're very, very intense because you
have to pick tiny tiny buds, and then you have to wait six months for them to dry
them into the things that we see as cloves in the supermarket. That's a tree there!
So we're making our way back now. It's been a very interesting afternoon, walking around
with the boys, getting a little guided tour, and meeting some of the local
people, and stopping off for a coffee as well. And in fact Sen, who was the teacher,
explained to us that we're the first boat that they have seen in the village!
So that's quite exciting! And quite possibly the first time that these boys
have ever seen a drone, and some big, fat English tourist walking along talking
to himself in front of the camera.
So, that's the end of this week's episode, which was set in the rather beautiful
little village of... Air Putih, it's called, which is "white water" in Indonesian.
Now we've been waxing lyrical about the last few places we've visited, haven't we?
But I know that Liz just wanted to add a little something at the end of this
video. Yes, I did, I just wanted to say that those children completely stole my
heart. And in fact the whole village did. They were so welcoming, and so fresh and
innocent, and just delightful. Sen, the school teacher, is Bajar's
father, and he told us quite a lot of stories which we weren't able to cover.
Anyway, the children... they don't have any phones, not any any kind of electronic
gadgets to play with, they spend all their time outside running around among the
trees, helping parents, helping the workers there. And they were
just full of joy. And full of knowledge as well. They really knew their
stuff when it came to plants, machinery, the environment in
which they live. They were so switched on. They educated us, they really did.
They taught me the names of the trees and the fruits in their language,
and they got me to identify trees, they'd point at them and say, "what's that?" So by
the end of the day I felt quite knowledgeable! Hmm, and tearful. Yes I did.
I did have a little tear when I got back to the boat, because I had enjoyed that
day more than any other, I have to say. Yeah, quite special. Well, anyway, that's
the end of the episode. Don't forget if you enjoy watching our channel then
please hit that like button, and also if you enjoyed this episode then please do
share it because it really helps us if you can share it across your own social
media. So we appreciate that, thank you very much! Now, this week this week we are
going to be putting that big question to our Patrons, which is... where are we going
to go sailing next season? By the time this goes live we will
have asked them. So if you want to get involved in that, then please do check
out our Patreon page, and be one of the couple of hundred or so that will be
voting on where we go next. It's a big decision. In the meantime,
Peace and fair winds!

7 Ways to Increase Your Happiness - Part 3 - Enjoying Everyday Life - Duration: 28:33.ANNOUNCER: THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN MADE POSSIBLE BY
THE FRIENDS AND PARTNERS OF JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES.
JOYCE: AND LISTEN, YOU COULD EVEN GET
WHAT YOU THINK YOU WANT AND THEN YOU'RE GONNA FIND OUT THAT EVEN
THAT DIDN'T MAKE YOU HAPPY BECAUSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE
HAPPY IF YOU'RE NOT WILLING TO GIVE YOURSELF AWAY.
[MUSIC]
JOYCE: OUR GOAL IS NOT JUST TO BE HAPPY, ALTHOUGH THAT'S
A GOOD GOAL IN ITSELF, BUT OUR GOAL IS TO GLORIFY GOD IN
EVERYTHING THAT WE DO.
AND I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THAT SAD-FACED CHRISTIANS DON'T
GLORIFY GOD.
THEY'RE NOT A GREAT ADVERTISEMENT FOR SALVATION, SO
WE NEED TO LIVE OUR LIVES IN SUCH A WAY AND EVEN HAVE AN
APPEARANCE ABOUT US THAT MAKES PEOPLE WANT TO HAVE WHAT
WE HAVE.
AND SO, I THINK THAT THE JOY OF THE LORD, WHICH IS OUR STRENGTH,
AND PEACE, AND PATIENCE, AND DIFFERENT THINGS LIKE THAT,
ARE VERY IMPORTANT FOR US AS BELIEVERS IF WE REALLY WANT TO
BE USED BY GOD.
AND SO, PSALM 5:11 SAYS, "LET THOSE WHO LOVE YOUR NAME BE
JOYFUL IN YOU AND BE IN HIGH SPIRITS."
SO, GOD DOESN'T WANTS US JUST TO HAVE A LITTLE BITTY, YOU KNOW,
EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, HE WANTS US TO BE REALLY HAPPY AND REALLY
IN A GOOD MOOD, AND NOTIFY OUR FACE SO THE WORLD CAN TELL THAT
WE'VE GOT SOMETHING THAT THEY NEED.
AMEN?
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: AND, YOU KNOW, AFTER HAVING LIVED A LONG TIME, I'VE
COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT REALLY, REALLY THE BOTTOM LINE
OF, WHAT DOES EVERYBODY WANT?
YOU KNOW WHAT?
THEY JUST WANT TO BE HAPPY.
I MEAN, WHEN YOU GO OUT AND GO SHOPPING, YOU'RE DOING IT
BECAUSE YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY.
YOU KNOW, WE EAT 'CAUSE IT MAKES US HAPPY.
WE OVEREAT SOMETIMES BECAUSE IT MAKES US HAPPY.
WE WANT TO BE IN RELATIONSHIPS BECAUSE THEY MAKE US HAPPY.
YOU KNOW, SO HAPPINESS IS JUST LIKE SOMETHING THAT EVERYBODY
WANTS, BUT SADLY, MANY PEOPLE GO ABOUT GETTING IT ALL
THE WRONG WAY.
NOW, I'M GONNA GIVE YOU NUMBER 12 FIRST.
I DID THAT YESTERDAY MORNING AND NUMBER 12 IS DECIDE TO BE HAPPY.
YOU'RE NEVER GONNA BE HAPPY IF YOU DON'T DECIDE YOU'RE GONNA BE
HAPPY IN SPITE OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES.
AMEN?
CAN YOU DECIDE TO BE HAPPY IN SPITE OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES?
"WELL, I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT."
YOU KNOW, HAPPINESS OR TRUE GODLY JOY IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE
BASED ON WHAT IS HAPPENING, ALTHOUGH IF YOU LOOK AT THE
WEBSTER'S DICTIONARY DEFINITION, AT LEAST ONE OF THE ORIGINAL
DICTIONARIES WRITTEN IN 1828, IT SAYS THAT HAPPINESS IS THE
PRODUCT OF HAVING SOMETHING GOOD HAPPEN TO YOU BUT IT'S ALSO THE
PRODUCT OF EXPECTING SOMETHING GOOD TO HAPPEN TO YOU, AND
THAT'S WHAT I LOVE, THAT EVEN IF SOMETHING GOOD ISN'T HAPPENING
TO ME RIGHT NOW, THERE IS NO DEVIL IN HELL CAN KEEP ME FROM
EXPECTING SOMETHING GOOD TO HAPPEN TO ME.
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: THE ENEMY MIGHT BE ABLE TO MESS WITH YOUR
CIRCUMSTANCES, BUT HE CANNOT MESS WITH YOUR HEART
AND YOUR HOPE.
YOU CAN BE FULL OF HOPE AND EXPECT GOOD THINGS TO HAPPEN
IF YOU DECIDE TO.
SO, I'M GONNA SAY IT AGAIN MAYBE A LOT OF TIMES TODAY, DECIDE TO
BE HAPPY AND DON'T WAIT FOR YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES TO DICTATE TO YOU
THAT YOU CAN HAVE THAT HAPPINESS, DECIDE TO BE HAPPY.
EVERYBODY SAY, "I'M GONNA BE HAPPY."
AUDIENCE: I'M GONNA BE HAPPY!
JOYCE: "I'VE DECIDED I WILL NOT WASTE ANOTHER DAY
BEING UNHAPPY.
I AM HAPPY."
NOW, THE NUMBER-ONE THING--YAY.
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: THE NUMBER-ONE THING THAT WE TALKED ABOUT YESTERDAY
IS THAT IF YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY, YOU'VE GOTTA BELIEVE WHAT
THE WORD OF GOD SAYS ABOUT YOU, AND ESPECIALLY ABOUT YOU
AND WHO YOU ARE.
AND HERE'S THE BOTTOM LINE, YOU'RE NEVER GONNA ENJOY YOUR
LIFE IF YOU DON'T ENJOY YOURSELF.
SO, I, YOU KNOW, CAN'T GO OVER ALL THAT INFORMATION AGAIN BUT
LET ME JUST TELL YA, IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOURSELF, THEN YOU
MIGHT AS WELL--YOU REALLY NEED TO QUICKLY GET OVER IT AND MAKE
ANOTHER DECISION BECAUSE YOU ARE STUCK WITH YOU FOR THE REST
OF YOUR LIFE.
[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
JOYCE: I MEAN THAT'S REALLY NOT ROCKET SCIENCE BUT IT REALLY
WAS LIFE-CHANGING FOR ME WHEN I REALIZED THAT EVERYWHERE I WENT,
THERE I WAS.
[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
JOYCE: SO, YOU'RE NEVER GONNA GET AWAY FROM YOURSELF, NOT FOR
ONE SECOND, SO YOU MIGHT AS WELL COME TO SOME KIND OF TERMS OF
PEACE AND SAY, "I LIKE ME.
WITH ALL MY FLAWS AND ALL MY WEIRDNESS, I LIKE ME AND GOD
IS CHANGING ME.
NEXT YEAR I WON'T BE EXACTLY THE WAY I AM NOW, BUT WHILE I'M IN
THE PROCESS OF CHANGING, I'M NOT GONNA BE AT WAR WITH MYSELF.
I LIKE ME."
CAN EVERYBODY SAY, "I LIKE ME"?
AUDIENCE: I LIKE ME.
JOYCE: NUMBER-TWO THING THAT WE TALKED ABOUT YESTERDAY
WAS LIVING ONE DAY AT A TIME AND ENJOYING IT.
THAT'S VERY UNDERSTANDABLE.
THE THIRD THING WE TALKED ABOUT WAS STAYING IN PEACE.
NOW, NUMBER FOUR, BIG THING WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT TODAY, IF YOU
WANT TO BE HAPPY, YOU GOT THAT LEARN TO GIVE YOUR LIFE AWAY.
IN GOD'S ECONOMY, WHAT YOU TRY TO CLING TO AND KEEP IS WHAT YOU
END UP LOSING AND WHAT YOU'RE WILLING TO GIVE AWAY, YOU GET
BACK WITH INTEREST MULTIPLIED MANY TIMES OVER.
WHATEVER YOU GIVE TO GOD, YOU GET SOMETHING BETTER BACK.
ISN'T THAT INTERESTING?
WHATEVER YOU GIVE TO GOD, YOU GET SOMETHING BETTER BACK.
SO, IF YOU GIVE YOURSELF AWAY, YOU SAY, "GOD, HERE I AM.
YOU TAKE ME.
YOU DO WITH ME WHAT YOU WANT TO DO.
USE ME IN YOUR KINGDOM.
USE ME TO HELP PEOPLE.
USE ME TO BE A BLESSING TO PEOPLE."
AND DON'T JUST PRAY THAT ONE TIME IN YOUR LIFE,
PRAY THAT EVERY DAY.
EVERY SINGLE DAY I ASK GOD, "SHOW MANY WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU
TODAY, LORD.
AND SHOW ME WHAT I CAN DO TO BE A BLESSING TO OTHER PEOPLE.
SHOW ME WHAT I CAN GIVE.
SHOW ME WHO I CAN ENCOURAGE."
YOU SEE, I LIVED A LONG TIME WHERE I WAS THE CENTER OF MY
UNIVERSE, AND I CAN TELL YOU THAT IT WILL NEVER MAKE YOU
HAPPY.
SELFISH PEOPLE ARE NOT HAPPY PEOPLE.
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: AMEN?
AND THAT'S A TWEET.
IS THAT THE RIGHT WORD?
DO WE TWEET THINGS LIKE THAT?
YEAH, THAT'S IT.
WE TWEET THAT.
I GET THEM ALL MIXED UP.
YOU CAN'T BE HAPPY AND SELFISH AT THE SAME TIME, AND YOUR LIFE
IS YOURS TO DO WHAT YOU WANT TO WITH.
YOU CAN SPEND YOUR WHOLE LIFE JUST WITH YOU AS THE CENTER OF
YOUR UNIVERSE AND BELIEVING THAT YOU SHOULD BE THE CENTER OF
EVERYBODY ELSE'S UNIVERSE, BUT YOU'RE JUST GONNA BE MISERABLE.
AND SO, YOU CAN DECIDE TODAY, "I'M GONNA GIVE MY LIFE AWAY.
I'M JUST GONNA GIVE IT TO GOD AND TELL HIM TO DO WHAT HE WANTS
TO WITH IT."
MATTHEW 16:24, "THEN JESUS SAID
TO HIS DISCIPLES, IF ANYONE DESIRES TO BE MY DISCIPLE, LET
HIM DENY HIMSELF [DISREGARD, LOSE SIGHT OF, AND FORGET
HIMSELF AND HIS OWN INTERESTS]."
NOW, YOU KNOW, FORGET YOURSELF DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE NOT GONNA
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, BUT IT JUST MEANS YOU'RE JUST NOT GONNA
HAVE YOURSELF ON YOUR MIND ALL THE TIME.
AMEN?
GET UP IN THE MORNING AND FIRST THING START THINKING ABOUT HOW
YOU CAN BE A BLESSING TO SOMEBODY ELSE OR THINK ABOUT
GOD, BUT DO SOMETHING BESIDES THINK ABOUT YOURSELF.
"AND TAKE UP YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW ME."
NOW, YOU KNOW, THERE'S A BEEN A LOT OF CONVERSATION
ABOUT CARRYING THE CROSS.
"WELL, THIS, YOU KNOW, THIS PROBLEM IS MY CROSS TO BEAR.
THIS SICKNESS IS MY CROSS TO BEAR.
YOU KNOW, THIS TRAGEDY IS MY CROSS TO BEAR."
NO, THAT'S NOT BIBLICAL.
THE CROSS THAT WE CARRY IS TO FORGET OURSELVES, LOSE SIGHT
OF OURSELVES AND ALL OF OUR OWN INTERESTS AND SAY, "HERE I AM,
GOD, A VESSEL EMPTY OF MYSELF.
YOU FILL ME FULL OF YOU AND DO WHAT YOU WANT TO WITH ME
AND THROUGH ME TODAY."
COME ON, THAT IS SHOUTING GROUND RIGHT THERE.
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: AMEN.
NOW, I MIGHT AS WELL TELL YOU IF YOU'RE NOT USED TO LIVING THAT
WAY, YOU WILL GO THROUGH CULTURE SHOCK.
IT WILL BE HARD IN THE BEGINNING BECAUSE WE ARE VERY ACCUSTOMED
TO BEING ON THE THRONE OF OUR LIFE AND EVERYTHING WE THINK
ABOUT OURSELVES FIRST IN EVERYTHING.
AND IT'S DIFFICULT IN THE BEGINNING BECAUSE THERE IS A
DYING, A DYING THAT TAKES PLACE, BUT I'M GONNA PROVE TO YOU TODAY
THAT IN ORDER TO REALLY LIVE, YOU HAVE TO DIE FIRST.
AND I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT LEAVING THE EARTH AND GOING TO
HEAVEN, THAT'S THE ULTIMATE DYING TO LIVE.
BUT ACTUALLY, IF YOU EVER WANT TO HAVE A REAL LIFE, A REAL
QUALITY OF LIFE WHERE YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR LIFE REALLY COUNTS AND
IT MATTERS FOR SOMETHING, THEN YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO DIE TO
SELF, TO NOT GET YOUR WAY, AND TO LEARN TO BE HAPPY ABOUT IT.
YEAH, WELL, YOU'RE NOT AS HAPPY AS I HOPE YOU GET.
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: SOME OF YOU ARE THINKING, "WELL, I ALREADY DON'T
GET MY WAY."
WELL YEAH, BUT YOU'RE NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT.
VERSE 25, "FOR WHOEVER--" WE'RE GONNA GO BACK TO 24 AGAIN
'CAUSE I WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL THIS.
"THEN JESUS SAID TO HIS DISCIPLES, IF ANYBODY DESIRES TO
BE MY DISCIPLE, LET HIM DENY HIMSELF [DISREGARD, LOSE SIGHT
OF, FORGET HIMSELF AND HIS OWN INTERESTS] AND TAKE UP HIS CROSS
AND FOLLOW ME [CLEAVE STEADFASTLY TO ME, CONFORM
WHOLLY TO MY EXAMPLE IN LIVING AND, IF NEED BE, IN DYING,
ALSO].
FOR WHOEVER IS BENT ON SAVING HIS [TEMPORAL] LIFE [HIS COMFORT
AND SECURITY HERE] SHALL LOSE IT [ETERNAL LIFE]; AND WHOEVER
LOSES HIS LIFE [HIS COMFORT AND SECURITY HERE] FOR MY SAKE--"
WE DON'T DO THIS 'CAUSE IT FEELS GOOD.
WE'RE NOT EVEN REALLY DOING IT FOR OTHER PEOPLE, WE'RE DOING IT
FOR HIS SAKE.
AND LET ME CLARIFY AGAIN THAT FORGETTING YOURSELF AND LOSING
SIGHT OF YOURSELF AND ALL YOUR OWN INTERESTS, THAT DOESN'T MEAN
THAT YOU NEVER GET TO DO ANYTHING YOU WANT TO DO.
IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU NEVER MAKE ANY GOOD PLANS
FOR YOURSELF.
LET'S DON'T TAKE THIS OUT OF CONTEXT.
WHAT IT REALLY MEANS IS IS YOU'RE NOT GOING TO JUST LIVE
FOR JUST YOU AND NOTHING ELSE.
I ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES.
I ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO STAY BALANCED AND TO DO THINGS FOR
YOURSELF THAT YOU ENJOY DOING, BUT THAT'S A TOTALLY DIFFERENT
THING THAN EVERYTHING BEING ABOUT YOU, AMEN?
"FOR WHAT WILL IT PROFIT A MAN IF HE GAINS THE WHOLE WORLD AND
FORFEITS HIS LIFE [HIS BLESSED LIFE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD]?
OR WHAT WOULD A MAN GIVE AS AN EXCHANGE FOR HIS [BLESSED] LIFE
[IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD]?" SO, I BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD
LEARN TO LIVE AND GIVE, LIVE AND GIVE.
I GET UP EVERY DAY, EVERYTHING IS NOT ABOUT WHAT'S COMING
TO ME, EVERYTHING IS ABOUT GOD WORKING THROUGH ME.
TO BE HONEST, I DON'T EVEN HAVE ANYTHING TO GIVE THAT'S WORTH
HAVING IF I DON'T FIRST RECEIVE ALL OF GOD THAT I CAN POSSIBLY
RECEIVE AND THEN LET HIM FLOW THROUGH ME.
AMEN?
TRUST ME, YOU DON'T WANT WHAT I'VE GOT TO GIVE YOU, BUT I'VE
DONE MY BEST TO LET GOD FLOW THROUGH ME THIS WEEKEND SO YOU
CAN HAVE MORE OF HIM IN YOUR LIFE AND THAT'S WHAT GOD WANTS
US TO DO FOR EVERY PERSON THAT WE MEET.
NOW, JOHN 12:24 THROUGH 26 ARE JUST AMAZING SCRIPTURES, AND I'M
GONNA WORK PART OF THIS MESSAGE AROUND THIS SO WATCH THIS.
JOHN CHAPTER 12, VERSE 24, "I ASSURE YOU, MOST SOLEMNLY
I TELL YOU.
MOST SOLEMNLY I TELL YOU."
IT'S OKAY OCCASIONALLY TO GET SOLEMN IN CHURCH.
"UNLESS A GRAIN OF WHEAT FALLS INTO THE EARTH AND DIES,
IT REMAINS [JUST ONE GRAIN; IT NEVER BECOMES MORE BUT LIVES]
BY ITSELF ALONE.
BUT IF IT DIES, IT PRODUCES MANY OTHERS AND YIELDS
A RICH HARVEST."
WELL, I WANT TO ENCOURAGE YOU LATER TO JUST READ THAT
SCRIPTURE OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
BUT HERE'S MY BEST SHOT AT AN EXAMPLE.
THIS IS THE SEED OF A GEORGIA PEACH.
MY HUSBAND LOVINGLY ATE THE PEACH THIS MORNING, WASHED
THE SEED, AND DRIED IT WITH A HAIR DRYER.
HE IS SO GOOD.
HE IS JUST SO GOOD.
NOW, UNLESS THIS GETS BURIED IN THE GROUND, IT WILL ALWAYS JUST
BE THIS, NOT REALLY THAT ATTRACTIVE.
SO, UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO BE BURIED, SO TO SPEAK, YOU'RE
NEVER GONNA BE ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT YOU ARE RIGHT NOW,
THAT'S IT, NOTHING ELSE.
BUT IF YOU DO A LITTLE STUDY ON SEED, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PUT
THIS SEED IN THE GROUND, FIRST OF ALL, IT'S HIDDEN IN DARKNESS.
YOU KNOW, WE DON'T LIKE THE DARK TIMES IN OUR LIVES, BUT THEY DO
HAVE A TENDENCY TO BREAK THE OUTER SHELL OFF OF US AND OPEN
US UP TO THE GREATER THINGS THAT GOD HAS ALREADY PUT ON
THE INSIDE OF US.
SEE, WHEN YOU'RE BORN AGAIN, EVERYTHING THAT GOD IS COMES
INTO YOU, A SEED OF EVERYTHING THAT GOD IS COMES INTO YOU
AND IF YOU'LL ALLOW ME TO PUT IT THIS WAY, YOU BECOME PREGNANT
WITH GODLINESS.
AMEN?
PREGNANT WITH CHRIST-LIKENESS AND GODLINESS.
WHEN A MAN AND A WOMAN WHO ARE MARRIED COME TOGETHER IN LOVE
AND PURITY AND HIS SEED IS PLANTED IN HER WOMB, SHE BECOMES
PREGNANT.
COME ON.
AND AS THAT SEED IS NURTURED AND TAKEN CARE OF, THEN EVENTUALLY
SHE GIVES BIRTH.
BUT LET ME JUST REMIND YOU THAT BIRTHING ALSO COMES WITH PAIN.
AMEN?
JUST SAYING, OKAY?
AND IF THIS SEED HAD FEELINGS, WE'RE GONNA PRETEND FOR A MOMENT
THAT IT HAS FEELINGS.
IT'S PROBABLY KIND OF JUST ENJOYING BEING A SEED AND ALL OF
SUDDEN SOMEBODY, WE'LL SAY GOD, COMES ALONG AND PUTS IT IN
THE DIRT, IN THE GROUND, IN THE DARK.
IT'S SUFFOCATING IN THERE.
IT'S HOT IN THERE.
THERE'S PRESSURE FROM THE GROUND BUT THE HEAT FROM THE GROUND AND
THE PRESSURE FROM BEING BURIED EVENTUALLY BREAKS OFF THIS
OUTER HULL.
COME ON NOW, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO GO WITH ME SPIRITUALLY.
AMEN?
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: SO, HERE I AM SUSIE CHRISTIAN.
I'VE GOT ALL THIS GREAT STUFF IN ME BUT UNLESS GOD GETS TO DO
THIS WORK IN ME, IT'S JUST GONNA STAY BURIED IN ME AND NOBODY'S
EVER GONNA REALLY SEE CHRIST THROUGH ME BECAUSE I GO TO
CHURCH AND GO HOME, GO TO CHURCH AND GO HOME, GO TO CHURCH AND GO
HOME, AND NOTHING EVER CHANGES IN MY LIFE.
SO, AS IT STAYS IN THE GROUND, WHAT HAPPENS IS THIS BREAKS OPEN
AND THEN ALL THESE LITTLE ROOTLETS BEGIN TO GO DOWN
AND TAKE HOLD IN THE GROUND.
SEE, SOMETIMES WE DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY A BUNCH OF GREAT
STUFF IS NOT HAPPENING TO US IF WE'RE CHILDREN OF GOD.
WELL, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO TAKE SOME TIME TO JUST GET ROOTED
AND GROUNDED.
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: AMEN?
ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN THE LOVE OF GOD.
ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN CHRIST.
ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN THE WORD OF GOD.
AND THEN EVENTUALLY AS THIS SEED IS WATERED, I THINK IT'S SO COOL
THAT GOD TALKS ABOUT BEING WATERED WITH THE WORD.
AMEN?
AS THIS SEED IS WATERED AND IT'S NURTURED AND CARED FOR, THEN
AFTER A WHILE, NOBODY KNOWS THE EXACT TIME BUT AFTER A WHILE,
BOOP, BOOP, BOOP, BOOP, BOOP, BOOP, BOOP, BOOP, BOOP, BOOP.
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: AND AFTER A WHILE THIS THING THAT WAS JUST THIS VERY
UNATTRACTIVE, HARD, USELESS SEED BECOMES AN AMAZING
GEORGIA PEACH TREE.
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: AND NOW, THIS FRUIT CAN BE PICKED AND SENT ALL OVER
THE WORLD.
COME ON, IS ANYBODY LISTENING TO ME TODAY?
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: AND SENT ALL OVER THE WORLD FOR OTHER PEOPLE'S
NOURISHMENT AND ENJOYMENT.
COME ON, GIVE GOD A BIG PRAISE.
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: AND, YOU KNOW, JUST TO TAKE A MOMENT AND JUST SPEAK
LOVINGLY TO OUR TV AUDIENCE, YOU KNOW, THESE FOLKS THAT ARE HERE,
THEY'VE GOT, I KNOW, SOME LEVEL OF COMMITMENT OR THEY WOULDN'T
BE OUT HERE ON A SATURDAY MORNING.
AND I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH YOU KNOW ABOUT THE THINGS OF GOD, OR
THE WORD OF GOD, OR HOW MUCH YOU EVEN FULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M
SAYING RIGHT NOW, BUT I JUST WANT TO CLARIFY AGAIN IF YOUR
LIFE IS JUST ALL ABOUT YOU AND THAT'S ALL YOU THINK ABOUT OR
CARE ABOUT IS GETTING WHAT YOU WANT AND HAVING EVERYBODY ELSE
SERVE YOU TO GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT, YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO
BE HAPPY.
AND LISTEN, YOU COULD EVEN GET WHAT YOU THINK YOU WANT AND THEN
YOU'RE GONNA FIND OUT THAT EVEN THAT DIDN'T MAKE YOU HAPPY
BECAUSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE HAPPY IF YOU'RE NOT WILLING TO
GIVE YOURSELF AWAY.
AMEN?
AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW REALLY HOW MANY CHRISTIANS PRAY THESE KINDS
OF PRAYERS ON A REGULAR BASIS, BUT I TELL YOU, WE ARE JUST
PITIFUL INDEED IF ALL WE DO EVERY MORNING IS PRESENT GOD
THE 12 THINGS HE HAS TO DO RIGHT AWAY IN ORDER FOR US TO EVEN
STAY SAVED.
"WELL, GOD, IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, I JUST CAN'T BE HAPPY.
AND IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, I JUST DON'T KNOW IF I CAN GO ON.
AND IF I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS ONE MORE DAY, GOD, I JUST
DON'T THINK I CAN HANG IN THERE ANYMORE."
YEAH, WE ALL HAVE THINGS WE WANT, EVERY ONE OF US HAVE
THINGS THAT WE WANT.
I HAVE THINGS THAT I WANT, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I'VE LEARNED?
IF YOU SEEK THE KINGDOM, GOD WILL ADD THE THINGS, AMEN.
AND PSALM 37, "DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD,
AND HE WILL GIVE YOU THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART."
ALL RIGHT NOW, 2 CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 8, VERSE 5 AND BOY,
I LIKE THIS.
MMM, I LIKE THIS.
SEE, SOME OF YA, YOU'RE JUST STARTING TO FEEL A LITTLE BIT
FREER ALREADY JUST WITH THE VERY THOUGHTS OF--I CAN JUST KIND OF
FEEL THAT IN THE SPIRIT TODAY.
IT'S JUST KIND OF LIKE, WOW.
COME ON, WHY DON'T SOME OF YOU JUST RETIRE FROM SELF-CARE?
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: LET'S THROW A BIG RETIREMENT PARTY.
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: WHEN SOMEBODY SAYS, "WHY ARE YOU SO HAPPY?"
SAY, "I'M NOT CONCERNED ABOUT MYSELF ANYMORE.
I'VE GIVEN MYSELF AWAY AND WHATEVER GOD DOES WITH ME
IS UP TO HIM."
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: "IF HE GIVES ME WHAT I WANT, THAT'S GOOD AND IF HE
DOESN'T, THAT'S PROBABLY EVEN BETTER."
2 CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 8, VERSE 5.
NOW, THEY'RE ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT A FINANCIAL OFFERING HERE,
BUT I LOVE WHAT THIS SAYS.
"NOR [WAS THIS GIFT OF THEIRS MERELY THE CONTRIBUTION] THAT WE
EXPECTED, BUT FIRST THEY GAVE THEMSELVES TO THE LORD AND TO US
[AS HIS AGENTS] BY THE WILL OF GOD [ENTIRELY DISREGARDING THEIR
PERSONAL INTERESTS, THEY GAVE AS MUCH AS THEY POSSIBLY COULD,
HAVING PUT THEMSELVES AT OUR DISPOSAL TO BE DIRECTED BY
THE WILL OF GOD]."
NOW, YOU KNOW WHAT KIND A PERSON THAT IS?
LET'S JUST SAY, LIKE, IT'S THE MINISTRY.
THAT'S SOMEBODY WHO SAYS, "OH, JOYCE, I REALLY WANNA WORK
FOR YOU."
"WELL, WHAT POSITION ARE YOU INTERESTED IN?"
"WHATEVER, I WILL DO ANYTHING.
I'M AT YOUR DISPOSAL.
I JUST WANNA SERVE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD."
NOW, THE PEOPLE I GET CONCERNED ABOUT ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE TO
HAVE AN OFFICE AND A NAMEPLATE ON THE DOOR AND A SPECIAL
PARKING PLACE, AND THEY WANNA KNOW ALL THE BENEFITS AND HOW
MUCH VACATION THEY'RE GONNA GET, AND--
[AUDIENCE CHEERING]
JOYCE: AND THEN I LOVE THIS ONE.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE WHEN SOMEBODY WANTS TO COME TO WORK
FOR US AND THEY WANNA KNOW, "WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TO
THE MINISTRY WHEN JOYCE DIES?"
[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
JOYCE: FIRST OF ALL, I AIN'T DYIN' FOR A LONG TIME, BUT--
[AUDIENCE CHEERING]
JOYCE: BUT, YOU KNOW, I GUESS, IN THE NATURAL, I CAN
UNDERSTAND THE CONCERN, AND, YOU KNOW, I'VE JUST DECIDED
I AIN'T GONNA WORRY ABOUT IT.
WHEN I'M DEAD, I'M GONNA BE HAPPY, SO, YOU KNOW?
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: THE POINT IS, IS WE'RE LIVIN' BY FAITH.
GOD'LL TAKE CARE OF US, AMEN?
"THEY GAVE THEMSELVES TO THE LORD."
PAUL SAID, "NOT ONLY DID THEY GIVE AN OFFERING, NOT ONLY DID

subscribe before we get into the video let's get into some background history
on Black Panther black panther first appeared in Fantastic Four 152 in 1966
and the concept art had them calling him coal Tiger.
Coal Tiger that's right even though he was created in the 1960s his name does not
come from the black panther political party. Even at one time to avoid confusion.
Marvel change his name to black leopard to avoid the confusion but
that name was so wack and he changed him right back to Black Panther.
He appeared with the Avengers for a while until he got his own comic book in 1977
just 10 years after you debuted. Now let's get into the five things you might not know
about Black Panther coming in at number five you have to be worthy Black Panther
isn't just a pretty name it's not a cool looking suit you have to be worthy of
the title of Black Panther Black Panther is the ruler of his people first now we
know mostly who plays the part of Black Panther is to chawla he had to defeat
his only uncle to inherit the throne and also while his half-sister tries to

character The Dark Knight aka Bruce Wayne is only sitting at 9.2 billion
while marvelous Iron Man aka Tony Stark's is sitting at a cool twelve
point four billion but the black panther himself he's sitting at ninety point
seven billion dollars this man is the king he's the King for a reason okay
that's just straight bull all right now moving on to number one we got to get

Black Panther was married to the one of the most beautiful black Buttermilks and
comic books known as storm he was married to storm of the x-men yes the
weather wizard goddess herself and that marriage came about during the Civil War
storyline too bad it didn't happen in the movie I would love to see that she
was the queen of Wakanda and it would have premiere like power couple for a
hot minute too bad it didn't last long even though it made sense because they
had to break up during the time of the x-men vs. Avengers storyline or the
Avengers versus X in the storyline and that had to fall apart that's what

We, at the Västernorrland Theatre are now rehearsing 'Katitzi' which is based upon Katarina Taikon's books about swedish children who are denied school attendance.
In 2016 here in Sweden we still keep oppresing children and we're taking them away from their safe environments and sending them to a definite death.
This is completely unacceptable. We want the same rights for all children.
So... We support the movement #vistårinteutmenvifortsätterattkämpa!!!
The dance and performance group 'Juck' has hijacked the thrusting move from the men as a way of showing power and dominance.
I think it's a combination of the way we do it, that we dare to stand there and thrust with an intense stare that says 'I do this because I want to'.
This is my country, this is your country, from Ale's Stones to northern Lappland, from Bohus rocks to Gotlands sea stacks, this country belongs to me and you.
This is my country, this is your country, from Ale's Stones to northern Lappland, from Bohus rocks to Gotlands sea stacks, this country belongs to me and you.
This is my country, this is your country, from Ale's Stones to northern Lappland, from Bohus rocks to Gotlands sea stacks, this country belongs to me and you.
Put the nazis in paper bags!!!
Sweden is in need of immigration.
I want Sweden to continue to be an open country.
Children who seek refuge from snipers.
Europe is suffering from a racistcrisis, the racism has an irongrip of Europe once again.
This with No-Go-Zones... there are no No-Go-Zones in Sweden. Katerina Janouch says that people learn how to handle guns in these places, this picture is not correct.
It's not anything dangerous, Sweden has never been safer before, I repeat, Sweden has never been safer before!

Would you like a croissant?
No... I'm good...

If you guys want to learn more about them,
check out the link in the video description below.
Hopefully you guys enjoyed this video. If you don't already, go ahead and get subscribed
and ring that little notification bell, so you're notified every time I put out a video.
I put out videos about every week at this point.
Also, I've started live streaming more so the notification bell helps to kind of let
you know when I'm going to be live streaming. Those are a lot of fun, I plan on doing those
about every week or so, so hopefully you guys can join me there.
And last, I have links to all of the tools and materials I used in this project in the
video description below.
Alright, thanks again for watching everybody and, until next time, happy building!

Why You Should Trust Your Sense of Smell - Vibrant Blue Oils, Jodi Cohen - Duration: 3:17.so I get a lot of questions should you use an essential oil that doesn't smell
good to you the answer is actually no we are intuitively drawn to what our body
means both in our sense of smell and in our sense of taste for example you may
crave a hamburger if you need iron or chocolate if you need magnesium it's
important to trust your intuition and your sense of smell because it's always
a good guide of what your body really needs hi I'm Jodi Cohen I'm the founder
of Vibrant Blue Oils and I have helped over 20,000 people regaining their
vibrant health through this specific and targeted use of essential oils and I
want to help you start feeling better with less work so when I'm working with
a client I'll always have them smell a blend and make sure it smells good to
them this is really important before you start using it the blend you need most
will often smell delicious to you which kind of validates that your body needs
it right and it's interesting as clients begin to heal the oils seem to change
their fragrance like one client shared that the intestinal mucosa always smells
the best so divine that I just want to eat it up which makes sense right
because my small intestine suffered the most damage with my
colitis but when I began using the gall bladder she reacted to it in the same
way she couldn't get enough of it and kept craving the fragrance but then
after her gallbladder started to heal she suddenly stopped craving it and
didn't find the smell as enticing you may know that our sense of smell is
critical to our survival and it's the first of all of our senses to develop
even before we are born our sense of smell is fully formed and functioning
research also shows that smell is the most sensitive of the senses interesting
right people can remember smells with 65% accuracy after a year while visual
recall is about 50% after three months it's interesting to note that
a woman's sense of smell is much stronger than a man's and is heightened
even more during the first half of the menstrual cycle and pregnancy so trust
when you crave a fragrance it's your body's innate intelligence communicating
what it needs to be healthy and this does not necessarily mean that an oil
will not be beneficial to you if you don't enjoy the fragrance but you may
find yourself inexplicably drawn to a particular oil or oil blend because your
body is asking for it

How to Install Raspbian Headless and Wireless? Yes, I Know IT ! Ep 19 - Duration: 11:57.I've bought a Raspberry Pi 3.
If you're not familiar with that type of device, this is a small computer designed around few
chips soldered on a single circuit board.
I plan to install the Raspbian Operating system on that board.
And there are already millions of videos showing how to do it.
But ... I have a particular issue: as you may see, besides the board, ... a micro-SD
memory card ... and a power supply.
... I only have a laptop.
No external monitor.
No HDMI cable.
No USB Keyboard.
And not even an Ethernet plug on my computer.
So here is my challenge: installing Raspian headless and wireless...
Our journey will start on the official Raspberry Pi website where we can download an image
of Raspbian to install.
You have the choice between two images.
Here I will use the MINIMAL image since I don't NEED the overhead of running a graphical
layer ... on a headless system.
From here, I could just click on the download button to get the compressed image.
And if you want, you can do it.
But as of myself, I will follow a slightly more complex process
because I want to ENSURE the authenticity of the downloaded image, before installing
it on my Raspberry Pi.
Since the Raspberry Pi foundation uses redirections here, I must first locate the real URL of
the image:
Ok, here it is.
Now let's download the image ... AND ... its signature:
At this point, we have two files:
the compressed image file and
the corresponding digital signature file.
But, is this sufficient to test the file authenticity?
No,
because, GPG needs to compare the signature with the KEY of the signing
authority.
Therefore, we must import that key before going further:
STOP!!!
DO NOT PRESS ENTER YET!
Before that, you should check that you see on your terminal EXACTLY the same number as
me.
because ANYBODY could have sign that file
And since you should NEVER blindly trust what you find on the Internet, I STRONGLY encourage
you to check, using another source, if that fingerprint is REALLY the one corresponding
to the Raspberry Pi Foundation downloads signing key.
Once you are confident enough, you may finally add the corresponding key to your keychain:
and NOW, you can verify the image authenticity BASED on that key.
If you see the message "GOOD SIGNATURE", great, that means the file is the genuine one.
By the way, pay special attention to that warning.
It is just a reminder that you cannot TRUST that image more than the source that gave
you the signing key fingerprint.
This is the root of the concept of CHAIN OF TRUST.
You trust the image because you've trusted the signature.
And you've trusted the signature because you've trusted the signing key.
And you've trusted the signing key because you've trusted the key fingerprint.
And you've trusted the key fingerprint because... you've trusted me.
Now I'm pretty sure I have the genuine Raspbian image on my computer.
In a moment we will copy that image onto the memory card.
But for that, we need to know which device name is assigned by the kernel to the memory
card.
On my system, the memory card is known as ... .
that
As you can see, my memory card contains just one partition.
It is pretty typical for a brand new card.
Before going further, it's safer to ensure NO partition is mounted because we will overwrite
the whole card content:
Ok, we are now ready to copy the image onto the card, so let's do it:
Finally, since in the process we have overwritten the partition table of the device, it doesn't
hurt to ask to the kernel to reload it:
If you have a keyboard and an external monitor to connect to your Raspberry Pi, you've done
all that is needed, and you are ready to boot the board from the memory card.
But it is not my case.
Since I'm setting up a headless system, I have to find another way to access the board.
SSH is the solution.
But for security reasons, SSH access it is not enabled by default on Raspbian.
But this can be changed just by adding a sentinel file on the memory card.
So, let's mount the Raspbian boot partition on my computer to do that:
Here you can see all the files on the boot partition of the Raspbian Image.
And creating the sentinel file to run SSH on startup is trivial:
Remember: I install a headless AND wireless system.
So, not only I want to access the system through SSH, but I also want the Raspberry Pi to connect
to my wireless network at startup.
For that, we will create a wireless configuration file onto the boot partition:
The first half of the file is pretty standard:
Then we will add the credentials for the RaspberryPi to connect to the WiFi access point:
And ... that's all for the WiFi settings.
We have now completed our specific configuration.
Let's unmount the card...
...remove it from the card reader...
... and plug it into the raspberry pi.
But at this point, we still have a ... little problem.
To access the Raspberry Pi through SSH, we will need its IP address.
But how to know that since we are running a headless system?
A brute force solution would try all possible addresses on the network until you find the
one used by your Raspberry Pi.
But I wanted to show you a more subtle solution
For that, you will need the `tcpdump` utility.
That tool is used to capture all traffic that can be seen on your computer network interfaces.
Here, we will specifically look for the traffic related to the DHCP and ARP protocols.
DHCP is the protocol used by a device to obtain an IP address on your network.
And ARP is used to inform the different hosts of the network of the owner of a given IP
address.
In addition, to reduce the noise, I will add an extra filter to consider only broadcast
messages.
Let's now boot the Raspberry Pi and see what appends.
And ... after few seconds ... bingo!
I can see a device, ... presumably my Raspberry Pi,... looking for a DHCP server.
Then, I see the DHCP server using the ARP protocol to check if a given IP address is
available
And I see now the device signaling it has accepted that offer.
And in its turn checking if the address was REALLY available,
and finally, the device is advertising itself as the new OWNER of that IP address.
I'm pretty confident this device IS my Raspberry PI.
But there is a slight chance all this traffic could be originated from ANOTHER new device
on the network.
So, let's check that to be sure:
OK, I'm now connected to my Raspberry Pi.
And if I try the `ip addr show` command, ... I will retrieve most of the information we've
collected from the network.
And we've almost done for this video.
But before leaving you, I cannot insist enough you MUST change the default password of your
RaspberryPi:
Let's disconnect now from the board... ...and reconnect using the new password.
Ok, it works.
Now it's your turn to play.
You may, for example, turn that board into an HTTP server, or an IoT device or anything
else.
The limit is your imagination, so don't hesitate to share your ideas in the comment section
below.
As of myself, I still have some work to do: if you remember, I said I bought a Raspberry
Pi.
Well, in fact, I bought several of them to build a computing cluster.
But that will be another story.
