[ INTRO ]
With so many ways that people can get hurt, researchers are always on the lookout for
non-addictive ways to treat severe or chronic pain.
And in 2006, they found a compound that may work even better than morphine called opiorphin.
It was hiding right under our noses... in human spit.
In 2003, scientists found a similar compound in rat saliva, which is released in response
to stressful situations, like being in pain.
So the team went searching for one in humans too, and they found opiorphin.
To be totally clear, it's not like this chemical is constantly numbing your mouth
and body.
Opiorphin naturally gets broken down in your digestive tract, so it doesn't seem to stick
around and have pain-relieving effects.
And even if you're the kind of person who licks their paper cuts, we're not sure if
it does anything on your skin, or if there's enough of it to make you feel better.
Scientists figured out how opiorphin works by isolating it and doing experiments mostly
not in whole living organisms.
And its painkiller abilities are a little roundabout.
Specifically, it binds to enzymes in the body that break down another class of pain-killing
compounds called enkephalins.
Enkephalins are peptides — shorter amino acid chains.
And kind of like endorphins, they bind to opioid receptors in the central nervous system
and keep certain signals from reaching the brain, so you don't perceive pain.
Basically, they help make you feel good!
Since pain is a sign that something's wrong, you can't have enkephalins around all the
time.
So your body also has a group of enzymes called proteases that tidy up.
They break down proteins and peptides, and help make sure the right signals are being
sent and received.
Opiorphin blocks a couple specific proteases that break down enkephalins, so these pain-relieving
chemicals stick around longer.
Researchers think that compounds like opiorphin might exist because they help in times of
danger — they block out pain to let us run away from whatever's causing it in the first
place.
But to figure out what opiorphin is capable of, scientists ran a few different tests.
In one, they injected a chemical irritant called formalin into rat paws.
.
Not only that, but opiorphin seemed to be almost as effective as a slightly higher dose
of morphine.
The other was a pin-pain test, where the rats had to walk over a pin-covered surface.
Like a human on a bed of nails, the pins were close enough that the rats couldn't stab
themselves, but were still uncomfortable.
Here, too, the researchers found that opiorphin seemed to work almost as well as morphine
to keep the pain at bay.
As far as we can tell from testing rats, opiorphin is less addictive than opioid painkillers
like morphine.
And scientists think we're less likely to become tolerant, or need more drug over time
to get the same effects.
Unfortunately, it's also pretty likely that opiorphin doesn't just block proteases that
break down enkephalins — which might mean unwanted side effects.
So we still have a lot of questions about what this painkiller is doing in our spit,
and how to turn it into medicine.
But it's a pretty cool find, and may be useful someday.
But for now, even with a painkiller in your saliva, you can't lick your own face to
alleviate razor burn.
You could maybe lick your armpits if you shave them, but would you want to?

Ok, so you might be thinking that is a heartless topic to base a show on, but look at it this
way, once you've seen how incredibly stupid some people have been, it may prevent you
from doing the same.
We see all manner of crazy stunts online these days, videos that often come with the FAIL
tag.
We hear stories about death by selfie, or near deaths such as the man in India that
thought it would be cool to take a video of himself as a train approached.
But those are just the people tempting fate, a lot of other people put themselves in harm's
way and have no idea they've literally just made the biggest mistake of their life.
So, without further ado, welcome to this episode of the Infographics Show, Dumbest Ways to
Die.

Using your phone while in the bathtub Yes, people actually use electrical appliances
while in the bath.
In old movies, you'd often see a scene in which someone throws a radio into the bathtub
to murder someone else, with such a typical scene being a warning to people to keep electrical
appliances far away from the tub.
Fast-forward to the digital age and people have died while using Twitter in the bath.
That happened in Romania a few years ago.
The media called it Twitterside.
Another person died quite recently in the U.S. while using a cellphone in the bathtub
while it was charging.
It's too recent to go into details, but what we will tell you all right now is this:
Do not use your phone while you are in the bathtub.
Ok, if it's not plugged in, it won't cause you any harm if you drop it into the water,
but it's not a good habit to get into.

Eating laundry detergent You've all heard of the Tide Pod Challenge,
wherein teens eat one of the small pods and video themselves doing it.
Now, this shouldn't lead to death, but you might be surprised.
In 2018, just over a matter of weeks, the American Association of Poison Control Centers
reported that 86 people called poison control after eating a Tide Pod.
"We cannot stress enough how dangerous this is to the health of individuals," said one
expert in an interview with Vice.
"It can lead to seizure, pulmonary edema, respiratory arrest, coma, and even death."
The UK Telegraph also reported in 2018 that eight deaths occurred in the US from 2012
to 2017 as a result of eating detergent pods.
These deaths were mainly young kids and older people suffering from mental problems, but
it shows you that this can seriously be a dumb way to die.
Though perhaps the question we should be asking, is why do they make them look so damned delicious?!

Death by Lego Ok, so you know that standing on a piece of
Lego can be excruciatingly painful.
Science tells us it's up there with some of the world's worst pains.
But you could do worse: you could choke on a piece of Lego.
And yes, there are cases.
Now, this usually happens to young kids, so we can't really blame them, as they are
too young to understand the danger.
But then you've got deaths by pen caps, and these people who should know better have
choked after thinking it was a good idea to have a nibble it.
If you do find yourself choking on something you shouldn't have put in your mouth, first
try coughing hard, or you can push your thumb in the space below your ribs, or even try
leaning over a chair, table, or railing, performing a kind of heimlich maneuver on yourself.

Holding in poop Who hasn't just held on for that little
bit longer, so they didn't have to stop doing something and go to the bathroom?
All of us, and sometimes you might not have a choice, such as when you are on a bus or
sitting in a park on a summer's day with the girl or boy of your dreams.
But holding it in can be deadly, as a 16-year old girl found out in 2013 in the UK.
We don't want to worry you too much, though, as you'd have to hold it in for a very long
time.
One doctor when interviewed said, "It's not uncommon to see young people in their
teens or twenties come in and say they haven't gone to the bathroom in two weeks."
Ok, so death is unlikely, but just go to the toilet or get some help if you can't poop.
6.
Pets that can kill you Not too long ago, a British man was found
dead in his room, and the culprit was his 8-foot long python pet that he dearly loved.
Apparently, they got along very well, but animals can always be unpredictable, so if
one is having a bad day and it's powerful enough to kill you, well, maybe you should
just get a hamster.
We can find instances of pet lizards killing their owners, or death by pet tiger, pet bear,
pet spider, and pet rat.
Even dogs that have a predilection for violence and are big and strong enough, have mauled
their owners to death.
A Shih Tzu might not ward off burglars or impress your tough buddies, but at least it
won't eat you for dinner after a bad day.
5.
The amateur Parkour People who practice the discipline of Parkour
usually have just that: discipline.
While it's always dangerous to some extent, the professionals are well trained.
But it seems some people try it anyway, even without much training, or worse, when drunk.
Yes, there are quite a few deaths of amateur Parkour cases out there.
It's mostly young folks trying to get hits on social media or YouTube, when the only
meaningful hit they get is one to the head.
We are not all created to be famous, so don't try and copy something highly-skilled Parkour
professionals do.
In short, don't be a Jackass.
4.
Squashed by a vending machine Ok, so we've all been bugged at some point
when what we paid for at the vending machine didn't come out.
What to do?
Tip the thing, of course.
Perhaps some of you burgeoning criminals have in the past thought it was a good idea just
to tip it to see if you can get a freebie?
Well, a study cited by The Guardian shows that this tipping of the vending machine has
been for some people, mainly males aged 15-25, the last thing they ever did.
This dance of death has led to the fatalities of more people than you would believe.
3.
Death by baguette or sausage You might remember from one of our other shows
that hot dogs kill quite a lot of people, urging one official to say they should come
with a warning on them.
In 2014, 77 people choked to death on hotdogs.
But baguettes, surely you couldn't choke on something that big?
Well, we'll leave you with this opening sentence of an article that appeared in the
British media a few years ago: "An inquest heard how a Middlesbrough man choked and died
after stuffing bread and pâté into his mouth."
2.
Laughing yourself to death Yes, this actually happens, and there are
notable cases throughout history.
One of the more recent cases involved a man from the UK who laughed himself to death in
1975 after watching "Kung Fu Kapers" an episode of the TV series called The Goodies.
Apparently it was so funny that he laughed for 25 minutes, after which he fell onto the
sofa and died of heart failure.
A similar thing happened to a Danish man in 1989, and the cause of his laughter was the
movie, "A Fish Called Wanda."
So, just be careful when you choose your comedies.
1.
Pretending to be a superhero In 2017, a woman died after a 34-foot fall
at the World Trade Centre Oculus.
According to news reports, she had been pretending to be a superhero.
Unfortunately, she wasn't the first, and probably won't be the last.
In 2014, a kid died in Indonesia after he thought he had the powers of Spiderman.
Another boy in China died after he thought he had the powers of Superman.
He was only 4, but should have known better.
According to China Daily in 2011, the "boy jumped from the fourth floor with his arms
outstretched like Superman and was followed a few minutes later by his 4-year-old brother."
The older brother survived the fall.
Is this catching on?
The USA has its real-life superhero in Phoenix Jones.
In 2011, he had his nose broken and a gun put in his face while trying to protect some
innocent bystanders.
In 2015, the British press reported that some "scousers" (another name for people from
Liverpool) were posting videos on YouTube in which they were doing dangerous things
while pretending to be Superman.
A word to the wise: Superheroes aren't real, and pretending to be them might get you killed.
On that note, you know what's also pretty dumb?

so I may be a little bit nervous, but I love it.

- We busted our ass for so many months to get to this point
and now we are right on the verge of being in the finale.
It's just bigger than anything I ever imagined it would be.

- Watching myself on this season,
it was a big change from last season.
Last season I got flooded with positivity.
This season, you know, I've had mixed fan reactions.

I'm actually a much more light-hearted fun guy.

We seen earlier in the season that good artists went home.

Steve was good at just keeping me focused.
- For your final challenge, you will have 24 hours
to tattoo a battle royale.
- When we were given the task of doing a battle royale
on a chest in 24 hours I was stoked.
I don't know how it happened,
but that's pretty much what my whole portfolio consists of.
- It's like one of the most important tattoos
that I'll ever do.
It's super bold and I think they're gonna
be in for a shocker when they see it.
- I'm feeling super confident about my piece.
I applied all the things that I learned in the competition
so I think it's a better version of Juan Salgado.
- I hope they don't think that this
was gonna be a easy ride.
Hopefully you guys did work that healed well
and did great application,
because you know my (bleep) is gonna be on point.
- We came here to tattoo, not to talk.
I'm hoping the best for my competition,

Dave Navarro here, and I am backstage
at the Ink Master finale.
In France, they would say, back-sta-gé.

First time coming on my set.
This is the home of the season finale, season 10,
and holy (bleeps) look at the size of this place.
Usually, we do the season finale in New York City,
but this time, we're in Las Vegas, Nevada,
the city where fortunes change
and fortunes will be changed on this stage.
So, what better place to hold this event?
And between you and me,
it's a little bit closer to where I live,
so it's much easier to get here.
Right behind me, Steven Tefft, look at him.
Bigger than life.
Did two seasons of Ink Master.
I've done 10, and there's not one picture of me up there.
So, let me go take a look at my desk.
Get used to this.
This is where I'll be seated.
You know, we do this on purpose.
We sit a little higher than the artists
to get a little intimidation factor,
you know what I'm saying?
We have a phone book here for Oliver to sit on
to make it equal.
And look at the crowd size.
This place is going to be packed
with people rooting for their favorite coach
and their favorite artist,
because not only will we crown a winner of Ink Master,
the coaches are competing.
Double-down time.
So, it is on this very stage that Oliver, Chris, and I
will make the final decisions as to who wins Ink Master,
and who wins the Master Face-Off.
So, right now, let's take a look at the coaches
and where they're gonna be tattooing live
on this stage for this finale.

- Listen, bangs got me there before.

Well, a couple months ago I started noticing that there
was a lump in my breast.
So I went to the doctor.
She told me after doing a biopsy, it's cancerous.
And so at that moment, I'm like, OK,

The procedure I'm having this coming
Friday is to put in a port so I can start chemo.
Tell me how this has affected your faith.
I'm like, God, you let this happen.
Why?
What's the purpose?
I turned to my family to try to talk to them.
Are they people of faith?
Yeah.
My dad is a minister. - Really?
- Yes. - OK.
And I think they just don't want to really accept that this
is happening to their baby.
And so I am walking this path by myself.
Going through this, there's been a lot of heavy on me
because I don't have a support system.
When I first told my parents, their words were,
are you serious?
And I was like, yes.
I have cancer.
That's a hard pill to swallow.

Ok just my finger I cut my finger…
I went to urgent care in hopes of stitches, but all I got was a butterfly.
I hope someone lost a lot of money- other than me from my co-pay.
And the knife that did it was this one.
The Vanguard Forge EDC 2.0.
A small gentleman's fixed blade knife.
They make, uhh made- to order- is it ok to have two tenses of a word in the same sentence?
Made to order custom knives.
But let's look at the dimensions of the one they sent me for review.
Like the overall length and weight with and without the sheath.
You're like so how did it happen?
Blade size, cutting edge.
Batoning right?
Handle size and grip area- maybe you were chopping with a knife instead of an axe- that's
dumb I hope it was that.
Spine thickness and handle thickness.
Running with it?
Tallness.
Stump throwing.
Drinking?
No I was unsheathing it while reading stuff on the internet.
This Vanguard Forge 2.0 features a drop point modified tanto style blade with a flat grind.
You know, which is my favorite grind.
The steel used is AEB-L cryogenically hardened to 61 HRC.
AEB-L is said a good amount of wear resistance and still be a stainless steel.
The top of the blade is rounded, and it has a satin finish.
It is very obviously sharp out of the box, and it cut through my pointer finger like
it was butter.
A great food prep knife for cannibals.
The handle can be had in lots of things, but mine is a smooth polished G10.
It's a full tang blade, and it's hard to feel edges where the scales end and the
tang begins.
It's very comfortable in my hand, however this particular knife is just a little smaller
than I like.
If you're a person that likes a blade like the Rat II or delica, you should be just fine.
And since it's a fixed blade and sort of resembles a kitchen knife it's probably
legal in more areas because you know that makes a lot of sense.
The sheath.
The sheath is a molded kydex with a tek lock compatibility… which you can buy a lot of
places- maybe even your drug dealer.
It's that plastic thing on the back of all of those Chinese fixed blades I've reviewed.
The fit is a tight fit, and like on all kydex sheaths you should not use two hands to unsheath.
That's how I cut myself.
It's best to be careful and do it like this, hold and press with your thumb.
I think about the only other time in the past year and I half I cut myself sort of bad was
on My More companion because I used to hands to pull it out.
Comparison.
Let's compare it to the Esee Izula I.
The izula has a shorter blade and thicker blade stock.
The handle is shorter too, however it has the finger groove and guard up front, so it's
a little easier to hold onto during harder use.
Next is the Rat II, again a more pronounced finger groove- something since vanguard forge
is a custom knife maker with plenty of handmade fixed blades in the mid 100 range, they can
customize what works best for your hand and cutting style.
The Rat II is a bit better in the grip department, but it's still too small a knife for me.
Delica….
I found it everyone!
It was on my messy work bench downstairs.
nice handle, a little small, and a shorter blade and cutting edge when compared to the
vanguard.
Let's see lastly- a larger knife a little more in my area of size preference.
The Spyderco Tenacious.
I couldn't find my Para Military 2 at the time, so this one was the one.
I hope you think it's a good choice.
Let's wrap it up.
If you know anything about custom knives, I don't but if you do… they ain't cheap-
because people spend a ton of labor to make each one.
Vanguard Forge makes quite a few interesting designs… you can
look at their gallery page, and email Mitch and talk with him about what you'd like.

Cyberpunk 2077 Enemies - Duration: 11:06.
Greetings Earthlings! Welcome to the MadQueen Show!
I am your host the MadQueen
On today's menu, we have a new Cyberpunk 2077 discussion video and today we're going
to talk about the different enemies that you can encounter in Night City that are going
to make our gameplay very interesting
The lore gives us 3 types of enemies, 2 of which are already confirmed by CD Projekt
as enemies and a third that is pretty obvious if the game has freedom of choice, that usually
in the roleplaying world is called "freedom to fuck up", but these third type of enemies
are only going to be available in the game if, and only if, the decisions you take during
the game have consequences
And in this video I'm not going to talk about the enemies you can encounter in the
net, we're only going to talk about the enemies in the real world, we will go back
to the net when I upload some lore videos on the net for you to have some background
before I go on and on about this subject
Let's go for it
BOOSTERGANGS
The most common enemies in the Cyberpunk universe
are the boostergangs, and they are mentioned in every official description of Cyberpunk 2077
Boostergangs are gangs of people that unite to survive, and they range from deadly to
harmless, or even helpful as there are some vigilante boostergangs that try to combat
the crime in Night City, meaning they have a lot of work because there's crime left and right
Every boostergang has its own turf around the city, and most gather in the Combat Zone,
that is the more or less "controlled" zone where all the undesirables are put, and
not even the police enter there, unless they are these kinds of cops that make business
with boostergangs but then they keep their badge hidden, because showing your badge in
the combat zone is as good as having a bullseye in your back with the sign
"TARGET PRACTICE HERE"
All boostergangs have distinctive looks so they are easy to recognize, some are incredibly
deadly, like the Slaughterhouse, that are considered the worst of the bad news, or the
Inquisitors that are a boostergang you don't want to meet because they are religiously
against cyber implants and they are goingto enjoy to rip your cyber limbs off if they have a chance
Or the Bozos, that are something like if the clown of IT woke up with hungover to have
an early brunch homicidal party with the Joker
But they are so easy to spot, Bozos are biosculpted to look like clowns, red nose included, so
imagine changing your body with plastic surgery to look like a clown, that's so twisted
Love it.
There are other types of boostergangs that are only deadly if you mess with them, like
the Juliard, that are street performers and they all look like mimes or something similar,
you don't mess with them, you're fine, but just be careful
But not all boostergangs are evil, quite the opposite, they try to do some good and take
responsibility of the public safety, and they're called Guardian gangs, like the Silver Slash,
that are even recognized as a good thing by the Night City Police
Can these gangs be enemies?
Well, it all depends on your style of gameplay, indeed, in you have an easy trigger most probably
they are going for you
As the guardian gang The Black Alley Brawlers say: If you're going to do it, make sure
we don't find out
So, with the exception of the deadly gangs, that are going to try to kill you no matter
what, the rest of the gangs can or cannot be enemies depending on how you decide to
play Cyberpunk 2077, if you go for a non-lethal gameplay or you try your best not to harm
civilians, some gangs will love you more than others, same if you kill selected individuals,
this is a great chance to make the decisions you make in the game to have some impact in the story

City Playlist, link in here, and I believe that is safe to assume that we're going
to see new gangs in the video game that are not in the lore, because the city evolved
and so did its gangs, but if the Bozos are not there I'm going to be very disappointed
MEGACORPORATIONS
Other of the very obvious enemy in the game are megacorporations
These have a different impact in your life as a player than boostergangs have, because
Cyberpunk is not a game about saving the world, is about saving yourself, and megacorporations
operate at a larger level, controlling everything from the shadow
Or even in the broad daylight, they are very good at giving a clean version of themselves
in the media for citizens to think they are saviors of humanity instead of the rats they are, so is
not like their power is not known
In life, it is important to be one step ahead
That's how we created the fuel that moves your life

and we keep moving forward to a better future for humanity

Biotechnica
One step ahead
In one hand, most of the weapons of this universe are manufactured by megacorporations, mostly
Arasaka and Militech, so plenty of the gear we'll have in game is going to display their
logo, but they are also, especially Arasaka, an enemy that we may encounter lots of times in the game
Arasaka is a megacorporation that is specialized in security, meaning if you need to break
in some place that can afford some decent level of security, this security is most probably
going to be Arasaka, so you'll need to go through a squadron of Arasaka security officers
to be able to access whatever office or building you're trying to access
Also megacorporations are enemies on a larger scale, as entities by themselves, because
they are the power structures that make the life in this universe so hard for the low-level
street people, and as the Cyberpunk genre demands, fighting megacorporations is a must,
no matter if you do it with a song if you're a Rockerboy, unveiling the truth if you're
a media or killing corporates if you're a solo
They are the enemy
Unless you're a corporate, because if you're a corporate then the things get a little bit messy
On paper, your corporation is going to be your ally and the competitors are going to
be the enemy, but in truth, there are people in your own company that would kill you for
your position and people above you that would kill you to keep their position, so it's
way more tricky than it may sound at first
Or maybe you're a corporate but you want to destroy the system from the inside
Corporate is a very complex character class and it can also give a lot of gameplay options

lore playlist, where you're going to find a lot of info on who is who in the corporate world
FREEDOM TO FUCK UP
Well, this enemy is going to need lots of explanations
Cyberpunk 2077 depicts a dog-it-dog society where is easier to make enemies than to make friends
Meaning if your actions piss off someone, this someone is going to be an enemy
Did you break in some data fortress to help a friend?
I'm sure the owner is going to consider you Persona non grata
Did you kill a Solo that was between you and your mission?
Maybe he worked for a fixer for long and, boy, pissing Fixers off is an awful idea
In here, it all depends on the consequences of your actions and if, and only if, the game
is going to have enough ramifications for you to pay the consequences of your actions
Obviously, if you steal drugs from The Wild Thing boostergang, they're not going to love you for that
What if you had to break into a Militech complex because you NEEDED that experimental cyber
arm and killed some guards on your way in? They're going to put a price on your head
In the world of 2077, you need to survive, and you will do whatever you need to do to survive
If you can do some good along the way, good, but don't count on it
Besides, the good to one person may be the harm to another, like Robin Hood who robbed
the rich to give it to the poor, made lots of friends but very powerful enemies
So it works more or less like this in here but, again, it all depends on how the game
is going to "reward" us or "punish" us for our actions, because we're talking
about a lot of ramifications in here

PINK! Accent Wall | My Living Room Makeover - Duration: 8:28.
Recently premier paints from Canadian Tire paid me to make a video and I
thought it'd be the perfect time to do a little something with this blank white
canvas that is my living room so in today's video a little living room makeover
Hi guys my name's Shayda Campbell welcome to my living room so spring is
definitely trying to sprung here in Canada and lately I've been wanting to
sort of freshen things up a bit so I'm thinking a living room makeover
is the perfect thing now Chris and I just moved into this apartment on
December 1st of 2017 we were living on the road for two plus years so long
story very short we were basically moving from out of province or out of
country and we would find a job and then we would just rent like a tiny furnished
whatever for a couple months and then we move on so this is the first home that
we've had in over two years almost three years and so I'm really enjoying making
it a home and getting settled here a few months ago I did my studio makeover and
I did a full tour and video about that so I'll link that in the description and
now I'm ready to tackle this big blank canvas of a white room that is our
living room and what I want to do here is we have a pretty minimal style but
this one definitely needs some pieces it needs a rug a coffee table and some
accent pieces like pillows and plants but more than that I think it needs a
little pop of color and I'm thinking pink yes pink pink can be so cool and
fun and hip and unique and sophisticated and adult and that's what I want to show
in this video that pink doesn't have to be the color of a little girls
ballerina candyfloss themed room it really can be a sophisticated and adult
like I said and just cool and premiere paints from
Canadian Tire they have a bunch of really nice colors of paint nice shades that I
think can work for anybody any room any style so I'm going to show you my
favorite colors of pink and I'm also going to do a blog post about this so
you can read all about this over on shaydacampbellblog.com so there
will be extra photos over there and I'll also have a list of all my favorite pink
colors that way if you don't catch it in the video you can go over there and
check out extra photos and read about the Pink's anyway I'm going to show you
guys the full makeover of this room as well as the makeover of this pink accent
wall so it's all that and more in today's video so at the heart of this
makeover was really the pink accent wall and one of the nice things about doing
the accent wall is that it was really just a weekend project it took like all
of 24 hours I just started by clearing out the space getting rid of all the
dust bunnies and then I used some painters tape and I taped off the area
that I wanted to paint and this is really the key when you're painting a
wall or anything for that matter it's not about the act of painting it's
really all about the prep so you want to make sure that any dust is wiped away
and then you want to properly and carefully tape off the area so that you
have nice clean straight lines and I decided not to take my accent color
right up to the ceiling I stopped about a foot shy of the ceiling and left a
nice white line and I was able to tape this off just freehand using my blue
painters tape it worked out wonderfully I just eyeballed it you could also do
that with a chalk line or something but I just relied on my own eye and the tape
made a beautifully clean line from the pink to the white and speaking of pink
the color I chose is called light blush and I decided to go with a flat finish I
love a flat finish for an accent wall because it just has a beautifully soft
look and I didn't have to worry about a flat finish not being durable enough
because these Premiere paints are very durable so I'm able to actually wash
this accent wall if I do get some fingerprints or something on there and I
don't have to worry about the finish degrading I painted the wall just using
a brush and a little roller and I put two coats on it over the space of an
afternoon such a simple project just being careful not to slop a lot of paint
onto the tape then I let the accent wall dry overnight you always want to give
your paint lots of time to dry before you pull the tape off I did that on a
Friday afternoon and then on Saturday morning I just came in pulled off all
the tape I had these nice beautiful clean lines
between the pink and the white I was really happy with the way it turned out
and then anywhere there was a little smudge of paint or whatever I just took
a tiny brush and fixed it up and then once the wall was done it was time to
move all of our furniture back in and I picked up a few different pieces
including these poof's that make for a great footstool / coffee table new house
plants and linen pillows and a beautiful Vietnamese basket to hang on the wall
now I am gonna buy a larger area rug I'm sort of on the hunt for the perfect rug
I'll layer a nice 8 by 10 cream-colored rug underneath the Persian and then I'll
be totally done but for now this is what the room looks like and I'm so happy
with it it's a little bit boho still very simple and minimal and very very
cozy and I just love my pink wall and light blush from premier paints well
guys the living room makeover is pretty much complete and I'm super happy with
the way it turned out I just turned out the way that I had
envisioned and I love it when that happens my
favorite things in the room are one the pink wall duh I did this in a color
called light blush and that's from premier paints at Canadian Tire and in
the end I decided to do it in a flat finish now flat finishes I think people
are sort of scared off of them because they're often not durable but the
premier paints are exceptionally durable so I don't have to worry about if I need
to wash the wall I'm not going to deteriorate the finish of the paint and
the reason I love a flat finish is that it has a very soft subtle look there's
no glare it sort of absorbed the light really beautifully and almost has a
stucco look so I'm loving the way that it came out in the end also I didn't go
right up to the top of the ceiling and I feel that just helps to incorporate the
accent color into the rest of the room it carries the white of the rest of the
room right throughout now this accent wall only took me a day it was a pretty
much one day project or over the course of 24 hours so because it was so
simple I feel I can reproach this pink is great for spring and summer but come
next fall and Christmas and winter if I want to change it up it's not a big deal
and secondly the other things that I'm really loving are all the jute and linen
accents in this room I've got my linen pillows this beautifully patterned
alpaca blanket the jute poof's and my accent piece on our accent wall and I
love that that's sort of what's in this summer and jute is so huge this season
but these are all things I could switch out easily enough if I wanted to change
it up in a couple of years time but for now and loving this sort of pared down
boho style that's what I'm going for I hope I achieved it I'll be on the
hunt for a perfect area rug over the next month but tell me what you think

So, in sixth grade I remember having I think it was 63 or 64 students in my science and
social studies classes.
Which we used to bring chairs into a classroom and sit around the edges of the classroom.
We had to share textbooks.
Most of the textbooks were ripped apart.
I was on a field trip that day, and we were coming home from the field trip.
I remember being soaking wet from being on the bumper boats, and I saw a bunch of video
cameras on the sidewalk as we pulled up in front of South Junior High School and I saw
my father walking down the sidewalk with a huge smile on his face, saying "We won! We won!"
I have an innate sense of responsibility to do what I can to educate every child.
That's, that's been with me since watching my mom as an educator.
The reason I came back to Brockton is because I know that I received an outstanding education here,
and I wanted to be part of that memory for other kids.
I wanted to help, to give them the best education they can have.
Ed reform brought about the Massachusetts Frameworks
Those expectations for students are so high, and I believe students can meet those expectations.
So, I want to be sure we're keeping in mind the fact that different students need different
resources, and different types of support and instruction in order to meet those high
expectations set for them.

BREAKING: Our Government Just ACCIDENTALLY Released Top Secret Documents Through FOIA
Request THIS IS HUGE.
As most know by now, conspiracy theories often become conspiracy facts.
The United States government's counterterrorism center has accidentally released documents,
about the use remote mind control on the easily manipulated masses in a FOIA request.
The Washington State Fusion Center, a government multi-agency counterterrorism center, accidentally
released some documents that will puzzle and surprise many this week: A dossier on the
effects of remote mind control, a media report claimed.
According to RT,investigative journalism site Muckrock filed a Freedom of Information Act
(FOIA) request with the center, looking for documents on Fusion's investigations into
white supremacist groups and far-left activists Antifa.
Among the trove of documents that Muckrock got back was a file titled "EM effects on
human body."
This file contained an apparent explanation of the effects of electromagnetic waves on
the human body.
These waves, one document explained, can read and broadcast a person's thoughts, manipulate
their limbs, control their dreams, and create sensations, from agonizing all-over body pain
to involuntary orgasm, the report states.

Another document explains how electromagnetic mind-control weapons can be deployed by satellite,
through mobile phones, or from equipment hidden in the back of the proverbial sinister-looking
black van.
It really is the stuff of nightmares and totalitarian control of the entire population.
Nowhere in the file is any research by the Center on this technology mentioned, nor is
the origin of the images explained.
No agency logos are present on the images, and it is unclear whether they were intended
for a different release or not.
Likewise, they could simply have belonged to a member of staff and found their way into
the FOIA release by accident.
Either way, we now have even more evidence that the US government is seeking to control
our minds.
To what extent?
Who really knows…
According to Popular Mechanics, some of the images are from an article in Nexusmagazine,
a fringe Australian publication about conspiracy theories and the paranormal.
The article in question describes a lawsuit filed by a John St. Clair Agnew against the
NSA in 1992.
Agnew claimed that the NSA used electromagnetic technology to "assassinate US citizens covertly
or run covert psychological control operations to cause subjects to be diagnosed with ill
mental health."
So how did those particular files accidentally end up in a FOIA request for investigations
into Antifa and white supremacy?
Files that came directly from the US government.
Of course, many of us have heard of MKULTRA, the government's own mind control experiment.
Historically, the CIA experimented with mind control as part of its MKULTRA program during
the Cold War.
According to Senate hearings in 1977, these horrific human experiments included the use
of hallucinogenic drugs, hypnosis, and sensory deprivation.

The Republican chairmen of the House Judiciary Committee, and the House Oversight and Government
Reform Committee announced Monday, that the Justice Department has finally agreed to provide
them with documents related to the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server,
Fox News reports.
The announcement was made after Reps. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., and Trey Gowdy, R-S.C.,
met earlier this month with the U.S. attorney, John Lausch, who has been selected to respond
to Republican demands for documents.
"We look forward to reviewing the information to better understand the decisions made by
the Department of Justice in 2016 and 2017," Goodlatte and Gowdy said in a joint statement.
"Congress has a constitutional responsibility to preserve the integrity of our justice system
by ensuring transparency and accountability of actions taken."
FOX reports that Goodlatte subpoenaed the Justice Department last month for records
of the investigation, which ended in July 2016 without charges being filed against Clinton.

PINK! Accent Wall | My Living Room Makeover - Duration: 8:28.Recently premier paints from Canadian Tire paid me to make a video and I
thought it'd be the perfect time to do a little something with this blank white
canvas that is my living room so in today's video a little living room makeover
Hi guys my name's Shayda Campbell welcome to my living room so spring is
definitely trying to sprung here in Canada and lately I've been wanting to
sort of freshen things up a bit so I'm thinking a living room makeover
is the perfect thing now Chris and I just moved into this apartment on
December 1st of 2017 we were living on the road for two plus years so long
story very short we were basically moving from out of province or out of
country and we would find a job and then we would just rent like a tiny furnished
whatever for a couple months and then we move on so this is the first home that
we've had in over two years almost three years and so I'm really enjoying making
it a home and getting settled here a few months ago I did my studio makeover and
I did a full tour and video about that so I'll link that in the description and
now I'm ready to tackle this big blank canvas of a white room that is our
living room and what I want to do here is we have a pretty minimal style but
this one definitely needs some pieces it needs a rug a coffee table and some
accent pieces like pillows and plants but more than that I think it needs a
little pop of color and I'm thinking pink yes pink pink can be so cool and
fun and hip and unique and sophisticated and adult and that's what I want to show
in this video that pink doesn't have to be the color of a little girls
ballerina candyfloss themed room it really can be a sophisticated and adult
like I said and just cool and premiere paints from
Canadian Tire they have a bunch of really nice colors of paint nice shades that I
think can work for anybody any room any style so I'm going to show you my
favorite colors of pink and I'm also going to do a blog post about this so
you can read all about this over on shaydacampbellblog.com so there
will be extra photos over there and I'll also have a list of all my favorite pink
colors that way if you don't catch it in the video you can go over there and
check out extra photos and read about the Pink's anyway I'm going to show you
guys the full makeover of this room as well as the makeover of this pink accent
wall so it's all that and more in today's video so at the heart of this
makeover was really the pink accent wall and one of the nice things about doing
the accent wall is that it was really just a weekend project it took like all
of 24 hours I just started by clearing out the space getting rid of all the
dust bunnies and then I used some painters tape and I taped off the area
that I wanted to paint and this is really the key when you're painting a
wall or anything for that matter it's not about the act of painting it's
really all about the prep so you want to make sure that any dust is wiped away
and then you want to properly and carefully tape off the area so that you
have nice clean straight lines and I decided not to take my accent color
right up to the ceiling I stopped about a foot shy of the ceiling and left a
nice white line and I was able to tape this off just freehand using my blue
painters tape it worked out wonderfully I just eyeballed it you could also do
that with a chalk line or something but I just relied on my own eye and the tape
made a beautifully clean line from the pink to the white and speaking of pink
the color I chose is called light blush and I decided to go with a flat finish I
love a flat finish for an accent wall because it just has a beautifully soft
look and I didn't have to worry about a flat finish not being durable enough
because these Premiere paints are very durable so I'm able to actually wash
this accent wall if I do get some fingerprints or something on there and I
don't have to worry about the finish degrading I painted the wall just using
a brush and a little roller and I put two coats on it over the space of an
afternoon such a simple project just being careful not to slop a lot of paint
onto the tape then I let the accent wall dry overnight you always want to give
your paint lots of time to dry before you pull the tape off I did that on a
Friday afternoon and then on Saturday morning I just came in pulled off all
the tape I had these nice beautiful clean lines
between the pink and the white I was really happy with the way it turned out
and then anywhere there was a little smudge of paint or whatever I just took
a tiny brush and fixed it up and then once the wall was done it was time to
move all of our furniture back in and I picked up a few different pieces
including these poof's that make for a great footstool / coffee table new house
plants and linen pillows and a beautiful Vietnamese basket to hang on the wall
now I am gonna buy a larger area rug I'm sort of on the hunt for the perfect rug
I'll layer a nice 8 by 10 cream-colored rug underneath the Persian and then I'll
be totally done but for now this is what the room looks like and I'm so happy
with it it's a little bit boho still very simple and minimal and very very
cozy and I just love my pink wall and light blush from premier paints well
guys the living room makeover is pretty much complete and I'm super happy with
the way it turned out I just turned out the way that I had
envisioned and I love it when that happens my
favorite things in the room are one the pink wall duh I did this in a color
called light blush and that's from premier paints at Canadian Tire and in
the end I decided to do it in a flat finish now flat finishes I think people
are sort of scared off of them because they're often not durable but the
premier paints are exceptionally durable so I don't have to worry about if I need
to wash the wall I'm not going to deteriorate the finish of the paint and
the reason I love a flat finish is that it has a very soft subtle look there's
no glare it sort of absorbed the light really beautifully and almost has a
stucco look so I'm loving the way that it came out in the end also I didn't go
right up to the top of the ceiling and I feel that just helps to incorporate the
accent color into the rest of the room it carries the white of the rest of the
room right throughout now this accent wall only took me a day it was a pretty
much one day project or over the course of 24 hours so because it was so
simple I feel I can reproach this pink is great for spring and summer but come
next fall and Christmas and winter if I want to change it up it's not a big deal
and secondly the other things that I'm really loving are all the jute and linen
accents in this room I've got my linen pillows this beautifully patterned
alpaca blanket the jute poof's and my accent piece on our accent wall and I
love that that's sort of what's in this summer and jute is so huge this season
but these are all things I could switch out easily enough if I wanted to change
it up in a couple of years time but for now and loving this sort of pared down
boho style that's what I'm going for I hope I achieved it I'll be on the
hunt for a perfect area rug over the next month but tell me what you think

Faux Stained Glass DIY Using Food Coloring And Mod Podge - Duration: 7:08.
Welcome back to DIY No Need To Cry with Ivelisse
I got a request to make something with an owl.
So I went online and found this super cute picture that I thought would look awesome
using the food coloring and Mod Podge faux stained glass technique.

Please turn on your notification bells so that you can get notified every time I upload
a video.
Let's get started.
Print out your image to the size you want.
I printed mine out at 120% size.
Using a piece of glass, I used the glass from an old clock, you're going to trace the
image using a permeant marker.
You can also use a piece of plastic.
When tracing the image remember that you're going to be filling in each spot with color
and if it's to small it's not going to look right.
I decided to leave out some of the very small detail on owl as you see here.
After I was done tracing I freehanded the rest of the design.
If you make a mistake, just use alcohol and a cotton swab to clean it off.
The next part is the part that takes the longest.
Using any kind of puffy paint you want, I used fabric puffy paint because it's the
one I have, outline the whole thing carefully.
You might have to do part of it, let it dry and then do the rest so you don't smudge
it.
But If you happen to smudge it by mistake, just clean it off right away and it'll be
fine.
While that's drying, matching some markers to the food coloring I will be using, red,
blue, yellow, green, purple and pink, which I didn't end up using.
I colored in the printout to give me an idea of how I was going to color the glass.
I outlined the image in black first and then colored it in.
I end up changing the colors slightly when I did the glass.
Once the outline is fully dry, take a cotton swab with alcohol and clean off all of the
permanent marker markings that show.
You don't have to do this if you don't want to.
I have to or it'll drive me crazy with my OCD self!
Also, It takes about an hour, hour and a half for the puffy paint to dry.
I always leave mine overnight just to make sure.
Now it's time for the fun part, coloring it in!
Pour a little bit of Mod Podge Super Gloss Brilliant in a small container…
I use my old egg containers.
I put about 4 drops of food coloring and mix it up.
When mixing it go slow, not like you see me doing because I think it causes it to crack
more as it says in the back of the Mod Podge, not to shack this sealer.
Prepare the rest of the colors the same way and then you can start coloring in your design…
and yes you can buy glass paints but I had the food coloring and Mod Podge already so
why not.
Using a paint brush color in the whole design.
If you want to switch colors, have some water and a paper towel handy to quickly clean the
brush before switching colors.
This part is so relaxing and that's why I did this project this week.
I needed something chill to make because I've got some big ones coming up that y'all been
requesting and let's just say I'm going to be telling myself that there's no need
to cry LOL! but I'm very excited to get started and show you all what I have in store.
When I got to the eyes I decided to use all the colors to match what I was planning to
do with his feathers.
I put red, blue, purple green and yellow.
I repeated the pattern until the entire eye was colored.
Make sure to wipe the brush on the paper towel in between colors.
Color the whole thing and set it aside to dry.
Once it's dry you might see some cracks in it.
I'm thinking this happened because I mixed the sealer with the food coloring to fast.
Either way It still looks good and just adds to the look!
This is just an inexpensive way to get a faux stained glass look.
It's fun for kids to do or great for small projects.
If you want to make a bigger project they sell glass paints at any craft store or online.
As matter of fact, one of our very own family members found a store online that sells the
gallery glass paints and other craft supplies at good prices and was kind enough to share
it with me.

After it was completely dry, I outlined the edge of the glass with the puffy paint and
let that dry.
To hang it, I used a small binder clip
and a suction cup with a hook and that's it!
I think this came out sooo cute and would be such a fun craft for the kids.
You can pick there favorite cartoons or even animal they like… do the outlining and let
it dry then they could color it in themselves!
Imagine all the different designs you could do and how fun when they get to see what they
colored get lit up by the sun!
I just thought of something else that might look amazing.
You could do this on a shadow box, fill the shadow box with fairy lights and now you have
a faux stained glass piece you can hang on your walls… you can even use it as a decorative
night light for the young ones.
