Youtube daily report Sep 26 2018

am i doing it

what is up welcome back to another episode of world record

Wednesdays we break or set a world record every single Wednesday today we

are with the amazing Brooklyn fly everybody aka no sleep till Brooklyn on

Instagram maybe you've seen her in this video we were going to have a tutorial

amazing montage and she's going to demonstrate all four world records and

break a new world record but first I want you show everybody what you got

rippln that was incredible but I want to learn how to hula-hoop now

what what can you teach me I think I can teach you how to do a chest roll but

trust me it's going to look like this and it's fairly simple you can do it

from either side right or left I like to start from the left so you're gonna keep

your chest up and your head back out of the way you want to think of rolling the

hoop on top of your thumb like that that actually was a pretty bad you just want

it to stay flat and roll all the way down so close you're pretty terrible at

this thank you that was pretty good actually it doesn't make couple weeks to

get that down oh okay oh good it might be a little bit tricky with shoes on but

as the hoop comes down you're gonna stick your foot in the open spot

and you want it to stay around the arch of your foot I know it's been shoes you

can do straight or bent it would probably be easier to start and the

motion comes wait Brooklyn I'm more excited now do you think you can juggle

wait I can't believe I can do this very good dog it's pretty good now can you do

one knee Cassie you're up let's see you Cathy okay so now I'm gonna teach Cassie

how to do a neck spin so you're gonna start with the hip sitting like right on

your collar bones and you want it to stay completely flat you don't want it

to come out either direction perfect your turn okay you're getting it there

you go that was actually really good what's it again this week no that was

definitely it so this isn't this isn't my strong suit but she's pretty cool at

it so let's watch her do more stuff so it's world at record time Brooklyn is a

six-time Guinness world record holders will you show us some of the records you

have of course so my first almost most funds around the arm in one minute I

averaged three per second my second record was most rotations

around the knees in one minute most spins around the neck in one minute

my next record was most hula hoops around the neck simultaneously where I

did ten the record that was featured in the Guinness World Record Book was

longest duration to hold a six to loop split box one minute in 16 seconds my

next record was must spins around the foot in one minute in bridge position

Wow

wow that was incredible it is time now to set a new world record what are we

studying Brooklyn today I'm gonna attempt the most rotations around the

foot in one minute where I have to be at least 100 ah let's do it I don't even

think I could do 10 I get on my foot and spinning you can start alright okay so

any time

what are we at I lost count in my head but I know it's like over 120 count I

like 127 we will put the official count right here now everyone celebrate yeah

new world record that's all we have for you guys today thank you so much for

Blockade (Full Episode) | Stargate Universe | LIMITED TIME ONLY - Duration: 43:31.

RUSH: I may be on the verge of discovering

the true nature of Destiny's mission.

ELI: You've had control of this ship the whole time!

Why wouldn't you tell anyone?

The Lucian Alliance is planning an attack on Earth.

YOUNG: I killed Riley. I suffocated him with my own hands.

You are a good commander.

YOUNG: There is no mission other than getting these people home.

RUSH: It was never about going home,

it's about getting us to where we're going.

That is the mission.

How do you know our names?

You're the Ancestors.

It sounds like ALS, Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Hell of a lot of data here.

Yeah, it looks like they documented everything.

ELI: We've been searching what we were able to transfer from the archive.

The ALS cure wasn't in there.

JASON: What were those things?

ELI: A mechanical army of drones.

WRAY: We encountered them a little while ago.

It seems they've been tracking us ever since.

RUSH: This one canister alone will last for years.

PARK: For CO2 scrubbing.

BRODY: We'll certainly need it with all these extra people on board.

CHLOE: Well, it's just 10 days till we drop them off

with the people on the expedition planet.

NOVUS RESIDENT: I'd like to thank you all for coming to this very special occasion,

the dedication of our beautiful new school.

Hey. Do you have those calculations?

...laying down the foundation for our educations.

That's why this new school bears his name.

Bottom left corner.

...do my best to uphold his legacy of inquiry...

Here's hoping something comes of Mr. Brody's paper-making project.

(CHUCKLES)

Now, please help me welcome...

How many times have you watched that?

...two-term mayor...

(PLAYBACK STOPS)

There's no TV.

Look, really, Eli, if you've nothing better to do, there's far more important things...

I'm adding this footage to my documentary.

I think it's important.

Oh, yeah, why's that, then?

They're our descendants.

Not mine. I wasn't there.

Okay, they're still us.

Humans?

I just wish they hadn't all left.

I kind of liked the idea of having new faces around.

Oh, yeah?

Well, if they really did spread all over the galaxy,

I would suggest that the chances of bumping into them again are pretty high.

Plus, this isn't a passenger ship.

What's this?

It's a gas giant.

For some reason, Destiny's decided to maneuver around a fat gas giant

in order to line up with the star.

What's that about?

Well, I'm sure Destiny has its reasons. It's happened before.

Yeah, but it takes forever.

Are you in a hurry to be somewhere?

Well, no, but power reserves are still at 40%.

It's as bad as my grandfather.

He was always filling his Buick at half a tank.

Destiny's kind of doing the same thing.

It just struck me as funny.

RUSH: Oh, yeah, that is funny.

That his life and the lives of those around him

depended on making it to the next gas station.

That's bloody hilarious, really.

YOUNG: We there yet?

Thirty seconds from contact.

This is Young. We are about to perform an aero-braking maneuver.

There may be turbulence. Stand by.

Good morning.

Morning.

You good?

Tired.

We've got drones, dead ahead, a ton of them!

And a command ship.

What the hell are they doing here?

BRODY: Coming right at us.

SCOTT: Where did they come from?

Maybe they were here all along

and we couldn't see them from behind the planet.

Still have a couple of minutes or so before we can safely go back into FTL.

How soon will they be on top of us?

A couple minutes.

YOUNG: Lieutenant, let's see if we can get around them.

Yes, sir.

Sir, the swarm of drones and the command ship

are maneuvering to stay between us and the star.

Unless you want to head right at them...

That is a negative. Where the hell is...

ELI: How many of them are there?

Oh, I don't know. I lost count at about 100.

Can we jam them?

Drones are 30 seconds out.

I can't jam them in 30 seconds.

RUSH: Doesn't matter, we can jump soon.

We should just punch through. They won't follow us into the star.

We're never going to make it.

We need to refuel.

Well, Destiny can choose another star.

There's no point in fighting unless we have to.

Ten seconds to contact.

Lieutenant, go to FTL.

RUSH: Not for another 15 seconds.

How is that not close enough?

SCOTT: They're firing.

Five seconds.

Lieutenant, stand by.

Yes, sir. FTL in three, two, one.

This is Young. We are clear of the drones.

Okay, what the hell was that?

It's like they were lying in wait.

Could be we just got unlucky.

You mean they just happened to be here?

Well, they have to be somewhere.

Yeah, but space is really, really big.

RUSH: Look, as far as we know, they can only track us

when we activate the stargate, so, please, let's not overreact.

How about let's not under-react?

You don't really think it was a coincidence.

Call it wishful thinking if you like.

Because you realize if it's not a coincidence...

Then we have a very big problem.

No. No, no, no, we're totally screwed.

This could be it, the end of the line.

Yeah, I just said that.

So why do we need to find another star?

Destiny will just fly towards the nearest red dwarf in our path.

RUSH: Which is exactly why we shouldn't go to that one.

You think they were waiting for us.

Look, we know they can't track us,

but it is possible that they can predict our course.

Meaning, if Destiny hadn't plotted that time-consuming maneuver...

We would've had to fight it out for the whole three hours

before we could go to FTL.

Or be forced to jump prematurely.

Which would have shredded our FTL drive...

We got lucky.

Yeah, we did, but we can't count on luck a second time.

Plus, we've no option but to recharge, so we go off the path.

Contacts?

JAMES: Nothing yet.

We're too far out from the primary for sensors to pick anything up.

I wouldn't celebrate.

Why did we drop out so far away?

To make sure that the minimum time elapsed before we could go back to FTL.

Don't want to run into drones with time on the clock.

I still don't understand what they want from us.

ELI: It's nothing personal. It's what they're programmed to do.

Destroy all technology other than their own,

and apparently, they weren't programmed to give up.

A few seconds away from FTL capability, sir.

YOUNG: Copy that.

ELI: (SIGHING) So far so good.

This room needs more chairs.

Here. Please, go ahead.

No, no, that's your...

What am I, Captain Kirk?

I need to stretch my legs anyway. Please.

Thank you.

Don't touch anything.

And that's three hours. We can jump any time now.

That's good.

ELI: That's huge.

I mean, I don't want to jinx anything but I think we might...

(BEEPING)

Sir, we've got a contact down range.

Damn it.

They headed our way?

SCOTT: Yes, sir, multiple drones, multiple vectors.

There's a command ship, too, holding position between us and the star.

It's a blockade.

YOUNG: How long before they reach us?

It doesn't matter.

We can't fight our way through this.

Plus, we're running low on power anyway.

Lieutenant, get us out of here.

SCOTT: Yes, sir.

So Sergeant Greer was bang-on in his assessment.

The drones cannot track us,

so instead they've blockaded the stars from which Destiny recharges.

They can't possibly be waiting at every star in your path.

It doesn't matter. They only have to be at the next one.

What do you mean?

RUSH: Well, our reserves are such

that we're only going to get one more chance.

Systems are shutting down all over.

I just lost power in the infirmary.

RUSH: Well, fortunately, Eli has an idea.

It's absolute insanity, and it's the only choice we've got.

Don't over-sell it.

(SIGHS) Okay, so the drones have figured out our weakness.

Destiny needs to replenish its reserves,

and only uses certain kinds of stars to do it.

Main sequence, spectral K or M, mostly red dwarves.

So we recharge off another kind of star. What's so crazy about that?

The only way to make sure the drones won't be waiting

is to pick a star that Destiny wouldn't fly into in a million years.

No, don't tell me. Death Star.

(LAUGHS)

Close.

Uh... (GULPS)

A blue supergiant.

Are you kidding me?

We said it was crazy.

Yeah, it's crazy times a thousand!

Do you have any idea how much heat a Class O star puts out?

I'm telling you right now, we can't survive something like that.

And I never said we would.

Well, then, I think it's a very bad plan.

ELI: The shields will hold...

VOLKER: Yeah, which is terrific, Eli,

except the temperatures we're talking about

are way outside Destiny's life support margins.

A few compartments are going to get over 400 degrees.

Which is why the majority of the crew will go to a planet within range,

and a team will stay behind to manually pilot the ship through.

Why not just program the ship to do it, and all of you can go?

Because even if Destiny accepted the program, which I doubt,

the core systems would shut themselves down because of the temperature.

Somebody's got to stay on board.

And just who gets to decide that?

(SIGHS) We use the communication stones

and get the most qualified people aboard.

The most qualified people are already on board.

That's myself and Eli.

You're volunteering for this?

This is our own lives that are on the line. You're not even bloody here.

But those kind of temperatures...

The suits can handle it.

It won't be comfortable, but, yeah.

Wait, how do we know there'll be a planet orbiting this star you're talking about?

Well, there won't be, certainly not a habitable one.

But we think there will be at least one or two stargates in nearby star systems.

Won't an active stargate attract drones to the planet we go to?

Eventually, yeah.

But hopefully not before we can gate back.

Hopefully not.

Are we sure the drones won't expect us to try this?

It's crazy times a thousand.

I take it back, Eli. It's a great plan.

Okay, guys, I'll try to sell this idea to homeworld, but I'm telling you right now...

David, we're not asking permission.

We're informing you. We're low on power, and we don't have time to screw around.

We're doing this.

If we keep them on the vine, we could have smoking sundried tomatoes.

Smoking, all right. Every plant in here is going to burn to the ground.

Well, don't ask me why that doesn't happen every time.

Well, the EM of a Class O star is just too intense for the shield

to attenuate over such a large transparent surface.

I'm guessing the observation deck is not the place to be, either.

It'll be like an oven in there, too,

but Brody is working on refrigerating our original hydroponics compartment

so there'll be plants to start over.

Start over. Just when we were on the verge of being able to feed ourselves.

If we just had a little more time.

Destiny drops out in 20 minutes, we gate off the ship 10 minutes after that.

Save what you can, cross your fingers.

This is Young. All personnel to the Gate Room for evacuation.

Pack light, you will not be gone long.

Did you do that?

No.

Come on.

Colonel, the bridge just locked down.

Understood! Head to the Gate Room.

I hope we don't have to use any bullets. We're running low.

Brody'll have to make some new ones.

That's time, sir.

Colonel!

You should be in the Gate Room.

There's a third suit. We should take advantage of it.

Well, Rush said he and Eli...

Yeah, there's new hybrids in the dome we could lose forever.

Medicinals that might help T.J. from worlds we'll never go back to.

Well, that whole compartment's going to go up in flames.

You have to gate off the ship while we still have the power to dial out.

That leaves more than enough time to collect as many as I can,

then back up Rush and Eli.

Okay.

'Cause Rush isn't as great as he thinks.

And besides, I'm our expert on the suits.

I said okay. Good luck.

Okay.

Everyone here?

Except Rush.

Nice of him to see us off.

And Dr. Park.

What?

She volunteered to use the third suit.

Didn't even try to talk her out of it. She can handle herself.

YOUNG: FTL drop-out in three, two...

This is Rush. We're on direct approach to a Class O star,

roughly 24 solar masses.

No drones in sight.

That's good. What's our clock?

I can't give you a precise time on that.

To be safe, no less than seven hours.

Understood, stand by. Gates in range?

We got one.

I'll take it. Dial it up.

(DIALING GATE)

Holy crap, we dialed Pittsburgh.

Atmosphere and temperature's good.

It looks like a human city, all right.

The archive said our people spread out from Novus for centuries.

That's enough time for dozens of planets to be settled with large populations.

They don't seem as advanced.

Depending on resources, ideology, isolation,

they'd all advance at different rates.

This has to be one of them.

Make that "used to be." Looks abandoned. I'm not seeing any indication of life.

Well, we'll find out when we get there. Lieutenant, move us out.

All right, people, let's go!

Hey, crazy or not, it's a hell of a plan.

Thanks.

Yeah.

I should go suit up, help Lisa in the dome.

I'll see you sometime after 0700.

Ish! We'll dial when it's cool enough to come back.

All right, people, let's find a spot and relax.

We're going to be here for a while.

Well, my gut says to stay put and wait it out,

but this could be a gold mine. What do you guys think?

Cities have hospitals.

I've been washing bandages for months.

If we could even find a pharmacy...

Or a grocery store.

Or a gun store.

Thing is, these people left for a reason. We don't know what.

Have you ever been to Pittsburgh?

Hey! I was born there.

I think it's worth the risk.

All right. We'll go out in small teams, light armaments.

Yes, sir.

Wait, shouldn't we all go?

We'd cover more ground that way, sir.

This already goes against my better judgment.

I want you two to stay put, and you keep these people safe, understood?

Yes, sir.

Colonel...

YOUNG: You, too.

Could hit the fan in here just as easily as out there.

If we are not back in seven hours,

I want you to get everyone back on the ship.

No search teams, no waiting, okay?

Anything in particular you want me to look for?

I'd kill for a new outfit.

I'll keep that in mind.

Good luck.

Thanks.

We'll head this way. Be smart.

Yes, sir.

ELI: This was a good idea.

Yeah, I just wanted to grab as many as we can, you know?

In some ways, this garden was our biggest accomplishment.

You mean besides the still?

(CHUCKLES) I mean, besides staying alive.

You know, I come here a lot just to think ever since it got repaired.

You know when you lay down on the ground and you look up at the stars?

My father and I used to do that a lot when I was a kid.

He taught me all the constellations.

These stars are always changing.

RUSH OVER RADIO: Eli, what are you doing?

Helping Dr. Park?

Well, time to stop doing that. Rush out.

(ELI SIGHS)

Don't leave me alone with him too long, please?

I'm just going to grab a few more. I'll be right behind you.

CHLOE: I wonder how long they've been gone.

It's hard to say. Nature can reclaim a city pretty fast.

Years, at least.

They were just like us, and we never knew them.

BRODY: What I can't figure out is why there's no vehicles.

Don't waste time searching stores or buildings

that don't have anything useful in them.

CHLOE: If we see a shoe store, I'm going in.

SCOTT: New boots would be useful.

Lieutenant!

Yeah?

GREER: We should split up, go on opposite sides of the street.

We'll cover more ground.

Yeah, good idea. Brody, Chloe and you two, you're with me.

You're not wearing your suit.

Well, there's plenty of time before we reach the star.

Plus, we can work better without them.

Yeah, but now I look ridiculous.

Yeah.

Will you double-check these figures for me?

Then what?

Well, it's your plan, you tell me.

I know that, I was just asking.

So was I.

I asked first.

Eli, both of us have to know exactly what we're doing here.

There's no room for improvisation.

If we get this wrong, we've got a very big problem.

Yeah, we'll be dead.

Which I find problematic, so how do you want to do this?

I don't understand the question.

Oh, bloody hell, we're all doomed.

What! We pilot the ship manually through the star.

That's the plan.

Who is going to be the pilot,

and who is going to be the co-pilot?

I just assumed...

Look, there's no question that in the end

that it's going to take both of us to pull this off,

but only one of us should input the actual course corrections.

I'm trying to determine who that should be.

Okay. I'll do it.

There. That wasn't so hard, was it?

Now double-check those figures for me.

(ALARM BLARING)

(DOOR LOCKING)

Rush, this is Park.

Yeah, go ahead.

Destiny's locked down this compartment.

I need you to override the door.

I'm on it!

It's not working.

Look what I found.

VOLKER: All the labels are worn off.

We don't know what's in them, or how old they are...

We'll find out when we open them, okay?

Mmm.

Botulism.

The sun is fading. It'll be dark soon.

Six hours to go.

Check this out. I found it over there.

Look at the headline.

Looks like a newspaper.

This is Young. I found a decent vantage point of the city.

It wasn't abandoned. These people were wiped out.

SCOTT: We're about halfway across town, sir

You want us to head back to the gate?

No, not yet. We have no idea how long ago this happened, or who did it.

Hopefully they're long gone.

Just keep searching for supplies.

Yes, sir. Greer, did you copy that?

Yeah, keep shopping. Keep shopping.

I'm getting the gist of this.

I think they're saying that the attack came from space,

some kind of machines that went after their technology first.

Hey, what does that sound like to you?

I don't know, Morrison, but just keep it down.

What? Don't you think these people have a right to know

what they might be up against?

What I think is, you need to stay calm.

Give it to me.

What are you doing?

The Colonel asked me to keep these people safe, so that's what I'm doing.

(GREER SIGHS HEAVILY)

What kind of city doesn't have a gun shop?

Maybe they're Canadian.

(FAINT HUMMING)

What?

Listen.

SCOTT: Greer, do you hear that?

I don't hear anything.

Shut up!

SCOTT: Let's get inside!

Come on, come on, come on. In here. Go, go!

Get in here, get inside, get inside, get inside. Go, go, go, go!

Go! Go!

(DRONE HUMMING)

Lieutenant?

I hear it, but I can't see it.

Colonel, we have what appears to be a single drone at our position.

Request permission to engage.

That's a negative! We don't know how many there are.

Go to radio silence. Do not reveal your position.

Young out.

Guys?

Destiny's closed off the compartment from the rest of the ship,

and for some reason we don't understand is refusing our override command.

We're working on it, but in the meantime,

you should put the rest of your suit on.

We're only a few minutes out. It's gonna start getting pretty hot in here.

Okay.

We don't have time for this.

It was a good idea.

Yeah, well, maybe it was, but she took too long,

and now she could end up paying the price.

Hey.

Hey.

Success?

The hospital's probably in the part of the city that was taken out.

We found what passed for a pharmacy. Mostly cleaned out, but...

Why don't you take what you've got back to the gate.

It's gonna be dark soon.

What about Scott and Greer's team?

I'll worry about them. You guys get going.

What's it doing?

I'm not sure. I think it knows we're here.

Are you sure there's only one?

One too many.

Give me a can. Give me a can.

Guys? You haven't forgotten about me, have you?

We're still working on it.

That's the second time Destiny's tried to abort our approach,

and the second time I've had to override it.

If it lets you do that, why won't it let us open that damn door?

I don't understand that, either.

That's it. I'm going down there to try to pry the door open.

Dr. Park, this is Rush, can you hear me?

Yeah, I'm still here.

Now, listen very carefully.

Eli is spending more time and energy on your predicament than we can afford.

Well, thank you, Eli!

No, no, no, you don't understand.

The point is Eli has to stop worrying about you

and start worrying about the more important task of flying this ship.

You're what's important! Don't listen to him...

RUSH: You're wearing the EVA suit.

That should provide you with enough protection even inside the dome.

You know that better than me.

You want me to stay in here? What about the plants I saved?

Dr. Park, forget about the plants and please listen to me very carefully.

There's a collection pool near the center of the compartment.

As long as you're fully immersed and secure

during the transition through the star then the water should provide

enough protection to see you through.

Do you really think that's going to work?

I promise you it will.

Look, I'm sorry, but there's really no other way.

Rush out.

Son of a bitch.

She'll be fine.

It was probably drawn in by the stargate activation at first.

Then it picked up our radio signals.

Whatever. We can't stay.

Sooner or later, we've got to make a move.

Listen!

(SECOND DRONE APPROACHING)

(DRONE FLIES OVERHEAD)

Do you hear that? They're coming!

Everybody stay still and stay quiet.

(DRONES HUMMING)

There's two of them out there now.

Bet there's a lot more left over after the attack.

Probably scattered all over the planet.

What are we going to do?

I don't know, but...

Okay, it's made the Lieutenant's position.

When I start firing, you run.

What are you doing?

This thing is showing

two other planets in range.

Yeah, but only this one's in range of Destiny.

Well, I'm not going to sit around here waiting to get killed.

(DIALING GATE)

Hey! What are you doing?

Getting the hell...

This is James. Morrison tried dialing the stargate,

but I think I stopped him in time.

Negative, negative. One of the drones is now headed your way.

Stay off your radio and...

Get out of there!

Thanks for the backup, sir.

All good.

Come on, we should get out of the open.

You found something?

YOUNG: Let's move!

(ALARM BLARING)

I get it, you don't want to do this! Can we shut that off, please?

(ALARM STOPS)

Thank you.

Navigation systems are beginning to shut themselves down.

You now have full manual control.

Got it. Our approach is good.

Mean interior temperature just passed 150 degrees Fahrenheit and rising.

What if Destiny locked down that compartment

and wouldn't let us override because it knew that the dome

couldn't sustain the stress of going through the star?

You already thought of that.

I considered the possibility, yes.

You told her she'd be fine.

And I still believe that, but only if you do what you're here to do

and stop worrying about something you can do nothing about!

(EXPLOSION)

Damn!

All right, let's go.

(ALL WHISPERING SOFTLY)

(DRONE APPROACHES OVERHEAD)

This is James. We've got a drone at the front door.

Damn it, L.T., I said to stay off your radio.

They are drawn to the signal!

Yes, sir. I'm counting on it.

Nice shot.

Thank you.

Anyone hurt?

JAMES: Yeah, Morrison.

I broke his nose.

Okay, we're in the star!

Shields are holding. Activating collectors.

We're going in too steep.

Variance is nominal, you're doing fine.

The magnetic fluctuations are way greater than I predicted.

I'm not sure I can stay ahead of it.

You can do this.

I don't know why I ever thought I could!

I know you can.

There are too many variables!

Eli! You're the only one who can!

SCOTT: Sure this is the right way, sir?

YOUNG: It's a shortcut.

GREER: Are you sure?

YOUNG: It's the one I took to find you.

Yes, I'm sure.

RUSH: Reserves are at maximum capacity.

Retracting collectors.

We're pulling out, entering the photosphere.

Sub-light drives are at full power!

We've done it!

Almost.

(SCREAMING)

We did it. We made it through.

Mean interior temperature, 310 degrees.

Oh, is that all? (LAUGHING)

I should start cooling the Gate Room first.

They could be back...

(BEEPING)

What?

The hydroponic dome's been breached.

Eli!

WRAY: This was printed on the third day of the attack.

The plan was to move the stargate from a place they called Terminus

to an older part of the city. I guess here.

No technology to attract them.

WRAY: From what I can make out, volunteers were driving vehicles

away from the city to draw the drones.

Save as many people as they could.

Sir, welcome back.

Nice work, Lieutenant.

Varro's the one who fired the shot.

Well, let's just get out of here before more show up.

Half hour to go.

How is that not close enough?

What's in the bag?

Hopefully that is your new outfit.

I couldn't find a gun store or a grocery store, but I found a dry cleaner.

Lisa, come in! Lisa, it's Eli,

I'm outside, can you hear me?

I'm at the door! The compartment's vented.

Rush, did you hear that?

Yes, yes.

We're through the star. I may be able to override.

Are you secure?

Ready!

Take my hand!

I got you. You're okay.

(SOBBING) Eli, I can't see!

(RUMBLING)

It sounds different than before.

I don't much like the difference.

Dial the gate.

No, we're 10 minutes too soon.

YOUNG: Close enough!

(DIALING GATE)

(EXCLAIMS) It's hot in here.

You're 10 minutes early.

We didn't have much of a choice.

Lieutenant Johansen, there's a patient waiting for you in the infirmary.

Eli's with her now.

What happened?

Flash blindness. Hopefully it's temporary.

But otherwise?

Eli got us through.

I kept checking his calculations looking for a mistake,

but there wasn't any.

It was genius. I've never seen anything like it.

Please don't tell him I told you that.

He might have to do it again.

The drones aren't going to fall for that trick again.

Plus, the star's extremely rare, so the chance of...

So we're back to where we started.

Well, not exactly. At least we've got a full tank of gas.

Yay.

Yay.

Suicide Squad Director Makes Admission About Leto's Joker - Duration: 3:47.

While many fans couldn't really make sense of Jared Leto's Joker in Suicide Squad, there's

no arguing against the fact that the movie's Clown Prince of Crime had a really unique

look.

But now, writer-director David Ayer has confessed that he made a mistake with the character's

design.

Whether you love it or you hate it, Jared Leto's Joker design makes an impression.

From his pale white skin and bright green hair to his eye-catching tattoos and silver

teeth, he has a look that screams "gangster meets prankster".

But was this stylized design really the right approach?

Over two years after Suicide Squad's theatrical run, Ayer has confessed that he now considers

one particular piece of Leto's Joker design to be a total mistake.

The admission came about thanks to a fan on Twitter, who asked Ayer about the Joker's

eye-catching forehead tattoo the one that simply reads: "Damaged".

When asked what inspired that particular bit of ink, Ayer admitted that it was his idea

and he regrets it.

The director responded to the query with a mea culpa, writing,

"Yes I have to fall on that sword.

It was one step too far."

Even after owning up to what he now feels was a bad move, Ayer affirmed that he still

generally likes the tattoo, at least in concept.

He also gave some insight into his thought process as to why the Joker would have such

a statement scribbled across his cranium.

In a follow-up post, Ayer wrote,

"In my mind it was meant for Batman after he smashed Joker['s] teeth for killing Jason

Todd.

Some people found it alienating.

Originality and faithfulness to the canon are often at odds.

Batman and Joker are my two favorite characters ever."

Ayer offered a similar explanation for the Joker's "damaged" tattoo around the time Suicide

Squad launched in theaters, saying that Joker would have gotten the tattoo while locked

up in Arkham Asylum after being scooped up by the Dark Knight.

As he told Empire in August 2016,

"It's in the asylum where Joker would have done the 'damaged' tattoo as a message to

Batman saying, 'You've damaged me.

I was so beautiful before and now you've destroyed my face.'

That's where the grill comes from."

As it happens, Ayer has quite a few regrets about the decisions he made with Suicide Squad,

many of which come down to choices made about the Joker.

Not only does Ayer now wish he didn't ink up the Joker's forehead, he also regrets not

making the character the main bad guy of the movie's story.

Despite being heavily featured in the movie's promotional materials, Jared Leto's Joker

only has about ten total minutes of screen time in the theatrical cut of Suicide Squad

far less than what was originally shot for the supervillain picture.

Even people who enjoyed the movie have said that it could have been improved by an increased

focus on the evil jester, and some have approached Ayer on Twitter with their thoughts.

In response to one fan who wrote him a year after the movie's release, Ayer said,

"Believe me.

I agonize over this.

Yes.

Joker should have been [the] main bad guy."

"Yeah."

Ayer has been expressing some disappointment in the final cut of Suicide Squad since shortly

after the film opened in theaters.

In January 2017, the director penned a lengthy post detailing what he wished he'd done differently,

then shared a screenshot of the note on his Twitter page.

In the post, he wished for a time machine to undo the errors that he feels he made,

along with a determination to do better next time.

As for what he'd do differently, he said,

"I'd make Joker the main villain and engineer a more grounded story.

I have to take the good and bad and learn from it […] I have to give the characters

the stories and plots they deserve next time.

Real talk."

As we know now, he'd also do away with that distracting tattoo.

Ayer's self-criticism is refreshing, but he doesn't have to be so tormented.

As divisive as Suicide Squad turned out to be upon release, the movie still performed

well enough for Warner Bros. and DC to turn a massive profit off of it.

And despite the critical drubbing, plenty of fans still truly enjoyed the film, Joker

and all.

It can even be argued that Ayer crafted the most unforgettable version of the Joker that

has yet to grace the screen, making a major impact on pop culture despite the character's

slight screen time.

Like the rest of Suicide Squad, Ayer's Joker isn't necessarily a disaster.

It's just a little damaged.

Gauntlet (Full Episode) | Stargate Universe | LIMITED TIME ONLY - Duration: 43:29.

I may be on the verge of discovering the true nature of Destiny's mission

you back control of this ship the whole time the Lucian Alliance is planning an

attack on earth I killed Riley i suffocated him with my own hands you are

a good commander there is no mission of getting these people home was never

about going home it's epic getting us the moment going that is I've just

completed a thorough diagnostic of one of the status pods very informative

we've been searching what we were able to transfer from the archive the ALS

killer's been there the first symptoms presented five years after we arrived on

the planet I died a few years after we got drawings dead ahead and drones

cannot track us instead they blockaded the stars from which that's really

charges this could be it the end of the life there's new hybrids in the dome we

could lose forever reached lost blame this whole place country how you feeling

oh great I haven't had this much rest in weeks I never thought I'd say this but

I'm actually looking forward to getting bleary-eyed analyzing data well let's

see what we're at I've been seeing occasional flashes of light I think

that's a good sign right

okay open your eyes

Lisa ah it's still dark I can't see

anything

Oh Carly you got a second I can't wait you look terrible thank you you're

running yourself ragged okay get some rest

oh yeah that's why I'm going ignore that you no good to us exhausted

this is young could you join us at the control interface room please for

something we want to show you we did it fantastic what'd they do I have no idea

we found a way to track the command ships to control the drones how we

managed to isolate the subspace signals that used to communicate with each other

but then we plugged the data into Destiny's long-range sensors and it

worked so we know where they are then we can avoid them and find safe plans to

resupply was the idea anyway right see you

this is the path that the siege ships plotted for us through this galaxy these

are the upcoming gates and these are the command ships oh my god

but we push this as far as sensor capability below and the results are the

same as far as we can tell the waiting at

every gates between here and the edge of the galaxy

we're screwed

Kerli oh no rush this is young Colonel Telford's waiting for you you sure your

since your data is accurate of course it is and there at every single gate when I

figured out how we operate they know which stars we used to recharge they

know that we used a gate to resupply there everywhere we want to be along

that path so go off the path use the shuttles to check out on gated worlds we

can't huh there's over 300 billion stars in that galaxy only a small percentage

of them have planets and even smaller percentage of capable of sustaining life

the seed ships did the legwork they found the needles in the haystack

if we go off on their own it could be months maybe even years between viable

worlds it's not an option put your supply situation we're looking at about

a month's worth of food and water what about power little dots that's

before that becomes an issue we could really use a supply line from home David

well the only planet we know of with the power requirement Street she was still

refusing to help Woolsey is still pushing the Paloma Sea but he's not

making much progress whatever the solution is you're gonna have to make it

happen on your honor

hey I'm collecting inventory reports guess it could be a while before we can

use the gate again so I hear well actually in pretty good shape down

here for the moment Matt told me about Lisa do you think her condition is

permanent I don't know I mean there should have

been some progress by now it's not your fault you don't have the right equipment

the resources even if I did it wouldn't make a difference there's no treatment

her corneas were burned by ultraviolet radiation if they don't heal in their

own that I know it seems unfair but sometimes you just have to play the hand

you're dealt why do I get the feeling you're not just talking about Lisa

there's still hope for her and for you

ALS is a death sentence Chloe you know that

and it's not gonna be pretty it'll start with muscle weakness and cramping then

I'll have trouble walking talking feeding myself and eventually full

paralysis will set in but my mind will be unaffected I'll be a prisoner trapped

inside my own body like I said you play the hand you're dealt

so no help from home No well that doesn't leave us many options

no we can't run we can't hide we'll have to fight there's a lot of them out there

we don't have to take on all of them just as many as we have to in order to

resupply when necessary that's still a pretty tall order considering we've only

taken out one of their command ships and that was with help well we do have the

element of surprise now we're able to track them okay we choose a target drop

out of FTL and open fire before it's got a chance to respond but what if it does

manage a response well if we don't destroy it immediately we can at least

cause enough damage to gain a huge advantage so let's say this works once

maybe even twice but we're gonna start taking damage and it's gonna take its

toll well we find a way to minimize that damage oh yeah I suppose you've got an

idea and how we manage that it's a matter of fact I do

so you're saying we dial up the shields well no not exactly it's more like we

tuned them when we're in battle the shield's continuously cycle through

various frequencies in the hopes of matching incoming energy based attacks

closer to match the easier the attack is to absorb and consequently the less

damage we take it's a guessing game like rock-paper-scissors but in case of the

drones we don't have to guess thanks to someone's brilliant idea to bring one on

board the energy signature of the weapons is a fairly limited range we can

target specifically for it we just need to override Destiny's normal randomize

to shield pattern and paper covers rock every time you fall uh doesn't used to

do is find the right match why does it bother cycling in the first place

because matching and maintaining a single specific pattern makes it

vulnerable to all other forms of attack right like if they throw scissors and

we're guessing Rock not to push the analogy too far too late so if we are

wrong it would be like we have no shields at all we're not wrong

a weapon is charged and ready rush looks like this and he's accepting our

override shields at maximum who calculated the FTL Jim

Chloe people come out in range well that's a bit like trying to hit a dime

with a bullet from a thousand yards but she's pretty good

what is the collision alarm her about the hit hold on

take it back she is very very good we've got incoming it's working your weapons

are having almost no set concentrate them to command shipping all the drugs I

don't have a shot working on it

man shift is damaged but still operation we're gonna surround again

that just drop 10%

all of a sudden there's shots again there's no weapons fire

since long right into it

shield you down to half and still dropping lost power in multiple sections

down three gun positions I care home oh yeah there's too many anyway just give

me another crack at the command ship she's trying out maneuvers I need some

more time we don't have it filled of failing

almost there

recked head man ships been destroyed the drones have gone dormant away teams to

the shuttles let's make this quick we don't want to stay here any longer

than we have to go we can't do this every time we need to resupply no we

need it on the plot second shuttles are stocked

because they found a few edibles but the pickings are pretty slim get us out of

here colonel you have a minute I know it sounds like

a crazy idea but I was actually thinking against some sleep so unless you have

some genius idea that solves all our problems as a matter of fact I do but

you're not gonna like it oh that goes without saying I am

notoriously hard to please so sure okay another day another galaxy what does I

mean this is just one of a thousand galaxies in Destiny's path and I think

you'll agree to turn out to be something of a hostile environment so so we skip

it one continuous FTL jump out and around the length of this galaxy across

the gap to the next one until we reach the first gate on the other side how

long is that gonna take that's the part you're not gonna like

we're only about a third of the way through this galaxy plus the gap to the

next one is quite a bit larger than last time on top of that thanks to the

ass-kicking that was just handed to us we've got power issues and some not in

significant damage to the FTL Drive that we won't have time to fix which means

we'll be operating at reduced speed which means we might actually run it how

long three years give or take three years we

barely have enough for a month what do you suggest we do for food and water

while all this is happening nothing that's the genius part by the way once

you're sealed inside the stasis pod your metabolism shuts down you don't need

food or water basically you just sleep through the whole thing and we found

several other corridors like this one there should be enough for everybody and

thanks to the research that Brodie and I have already done we know they work

three years give or take you keep saying that

what do you lie is neglecting to mention is it a jump like this is gonna require

every last ounce of power we have but if as calculations are off and we fall

short even by a fraction 1/10 of 1% we won't then we're gonna drift the rest

of the way and instead of three years it'll take a thousand more

I assume you really get to that part look I've run the numbers this could

work but we have to do it soon we're bleeding

power from a dozen systems and we can't risk dropping out to recharge too many

things that could go wrong we have to find another way all right

how long would it take you to prep the rest of these pots

day maybe at work

kono got 24 hours to come up with a better idea three years yeah that's in a

best-case scenario a thought of being sealed and one of those things for so

long kind of creeps me out I don't like it much either but we're running out of

options well we're gonna do this I recommend that everyone be permitted a

final visit to earth say their goodbyes all right

you make the arrangements but it's gonna have to be pretty quick pretty much have

to shut down everything to make this work and if we take too long we're gonna

run out of power

how's it going it's not for what it's worth I went over Eli's numbers it's

true there's not much margin for error but I think it might just work yeah if

we're lucky destiny is on this path for a reason but what we straight for once

and that's what caused all this trouble in the first place but we're not going

off the path at least not for good we're just skipping part of it you haven't

asked what bothers me this ship was launched to solve a mystery not by

arriving as some ultimate destination but all the questions are answered at

one time but by accumulating knowledge bit by bit we skip over this galaxy and

who's to say they won't skip over some vital piece of the puzzle and did all of

us everything we've been through

this guard may await to defeat them I just need more time which we don't have

look you're right if we go into those pods we're taking a chance we might miss

something or we might sleep a lot longer than we planned and never see our loved

ones again or we might never wake up at all but destiny will keep going if we

stay and we don't find a way to defeat the drones we'll all be killed

and this ship will be destroyed and then this really will have all been for

nothing

Carl this is Brodie we're ready to put the first group into stasis

please just step into your sign pods don't worry I'll be monitoring your

progress

see you soon

it's me Mom I don't have much time just

long enough to say goodbye we've got smart people working on it really smart

but still three years even if it all goes well three years at least I'm sorry

I can't help thinking that if I had made different choices in my life you

wouldn't be alone right now you had made different choices you wouldn't have seen

the incredible sights you've seen done the amazing things you've done I feel

like I've abandoned you you haven't abandoned me you're living your life I

mean it was hard when I didn't when I didn't know where you were what you were

doing but now I understand

you don't have to be here Eli I just I just need to know are you happy in spite

of everything yeah I am

it's good enough for me

bulgor yeah you on the bridge you know good I need you to run a diagnostic for

me

come in

what well as you know we've been powering up all the stasis pod corridors

and it's been it's been going pretty well up until now but what is it it's

the last section it must have taken some damage possibly even before we came

aboard the ship we can't bring those pods online so we're not gonna have

enough for everyone

the damaged pods put us ashore totally need boys the problem on the ships ferry

you know that's the problem let's try that again

can we fix it not with the material we have on board we need something called

palladium hydride it's a component of the high-temperature superconductors

that are critical to the pause systems where do we get this stuff in ores and

alloy with other metals ideally on planets and systems that have seen

substantial meteorite activity right now we do have a possible candidate and it's

locked out for good reason the meteorites make a place dangerous if

not toxic but there is still a command ship in the system they know nothing

about human physiology and what makes a planet viable they just know as a gate

you can still get around the lockout if you want to don't you survive another

fight even if we did because our far too much power the ship would never make the

jump to the next galaxy which kind of defeats the purpose are gone and that's

planet in the first place so what are you telling me we don't have a choice

but to leave eight people out tell them good luck you got as long as the food

and water lasts we can't even do that power requirements needed to maintain a

life support for eight people for that long would make us fall short whoever

stays out would have to kill themselves you know choice : if she wanted Eli's

plankton work you're gonna have to come up with eight names

it just goes from bad to worse so what's currently undecided

don't even think about it what volunteering to be one of the eight I

know you wrong maybe I would if it came to it but I wouldn't ask seven others to

do with me and I don't think come on young good either I mean the way I see

it we all came here together need me well go out together maybe it won't come

to that what take me to Colonel young why what

are you thinking we need to fall back to this section and seal off the

surrounding corridors shut down life support to those areas and then reroute

power oh we're here dr. Park there's something she'd like to share

we'll use a decoy we drop off one of our shuttles unmanned a short FTL jump from

the planet then we set it to broadcast a powerful subspace burst mimicking a gate

dial out it'll take a lot of power and it might damage a few systems but I'm

guessing the shuttle doesn't survive this plan anyway no the command ship

will investigate taking the drones with it and probably attack the shuttle but

in the meantime we take advantage of the distraction to dial in and get the

palladium hydride we can recalibrate the shields on the shuttle just like we did

destiny and remote pylon an evasive course that'll make it harder for the

drones to connect with a suicide run if we're gonna sacrifice it anyway we can

rig the engines to go critical Ram it straight into the command ship give him

a taste of our own medicine and we still have one shuttle left right I think it

sounds like a great idea let's do it

hey that's good work dr. Park

all right we're in position rush this is young launch the shuttle

subspace link is in place we should be able to get shuttles with minimal delay

understood get us as far away from her as possible

you know we're looking for right well I can identify the rocks but we can't test

for concentration our best bet is to bring back as much as possible if this

works we should have enough time to load up as much as the Kino sled can hold and

what if it doesn't

okay I think we're good what casting me signaled of let's hope they take the

bait

oh that's it command ship just dropped off the screen they got to be in

hyperspace they're on their way me room this is young

this is gay true we have a connection we team is enroute start removing shuttle

engine safety protocols we're gonna have to tame this overlook to the last second

got anything screens are clear Oh hold on command ship just dropped out in the

shuttle launching drones rusher on initiating evasive maneuvers what's our

status they found several impact craters near the gate they've already begun

collecting samples

what's house it's alright I've got it stabilizing initiate the overload

sure take a close just do it they're launching more drones shuttle doesn't

have much time

Overlord 10 seconds

six five four

it's gone it's a pretty safe bet more on the way yeah we're not gonna wait around

to find out

I swear gentlemen go easy good let's get the stuff out of

here ready to go I don't know you don't even know him his father I'm just some

guy shows up every once in a while to see how he's doing how is he doing this

mom I I think she's a good person I just don't think she's a good parent

folks from homeworld command telling me if I just make the phone call those step

Bend see he's raised in the proper home well

I wouldn't make any rash decisions wasn't what about you we gonna say sure

oh I uh I just got back and I didn't see her she said a conference in Brussels

not enough time sorry

you know you go back billions of light-years across an entire universe

and you just separated by a couple of thousand miles anyway um I I got to talk

to her on the phone

what'd you say

yeah I said I was sorry but um this wasn't fair to her anymore

and she should just move on what did she say

not much she

you just started crying

eat up everybody except for the canned goods this is all going to waste anyway

for once I'm stuck I can't eat another bite

think I can use just a little bit more all right girl how about a toast really

yes all right all right why not well we've been through a hell of a lot

together that's for sure I guess it'd be easy to dwell on everything that we've

lost but I think today I would rather think about what we still haven't maybe

what we've gained we're uh we're family now whether we like it or not

sons daughters sisters even the slightly crazy uncle who despite everything still

manages to come through for you in the end you are smartest bravest most

compassion people that I have ever had the honor to serve with the family

all right

well guess you're finally gonna get some sleep three years that should be enough

sure yeah we're gonna be fine

so rush and Eli are finishing up the lusts of the program and they should be

done by the time I get back you're not going to go see Emily we're done

why reopen all bones you know for what it's worth David listen my marriage that

was I was broken a long time ago and I have no one to blame but myself whatever

happens we're not giving up on you some of us may have a few more gray hairs but

we'll still be here good luck Everett

how could we've missed it there was no way of knowing but we ran a diagnostic

short no problems because at that stage that particular section had yet to be

fully engaged what's going on we repaired the eight pods but one of them

was more damaged than we thought it came online with the rest of them but when we

ran final checks it just died we might be one short okay Troy it look there's

no use right go back down to the control interface room and go through the

colonel

we have to talk Nilay before you ask the answer is no I haven't found any magical

solutions yet it's gonna take time according to rush if two of us go into

the pods now today the one that stays outside could keep minimal life support

going for two weeks before it starts eating into the power reserve for the

jump sounds about right boys he's volunteered to be the one you're kidding

me really yeah he says he's most qualified

to figure out what's wrong with the pardon and fix it I don't know about

that yeah and I don't think I can let him do it I think it's uh it's gonna be

me you're gonna fix the pot but I'm obviously not gonna fix the potty life

and you're talking about suicide I can't trust him I can't be sure he's gonna do

the right thing when the time comes I'll admit it he's not perfect but I don't

know what if he doesn't find a solution but if after two weeks he loses his

nerve and he keeps the life support going even for just a few days what

happens and we drop out early drift and wake up in a thousand years if we wake

up at all

what's the other choice

no it's not

I'll do it Eli if you stay out it's automatic

you're dead if I do it at least I have a chance maybe even a better chance than

rush for too long I've been content to stay in a shadow play the part of the

eager young Protege take his orders but

not afraid to say it anymore I'm smarter than him and I'll three of us know it I

can't ask you to do that and I can't take no for an answer sorry

hey you told me about the conversation oh right

doc word no no really and you didn't trust me enough to let me

stay you did in case you had not this.p to have iced drink don't worry

volunteers in the first place because he knew he wouldn't accept what difference

does it make now

the only thing I feel to anticipate was that you would volunteer to take my

place so you did want it to be young I don't want anyone to die Eli this isn't

even my idea remember but you didn't come up with a better one not in the

allotted time no which is course to prove my point we're gonna need you in

the other side oh I'll be there you know maybe I haven't said this often enough

Eli but you do have you do have tremendous potential

I'd hate to see you throw all the way I'm not anyway what's the point of

having potential if you're not gonna step up when you're really needed you

come a long way from the video games slack out of the scope of a year ago

Thanks you've been pretty consistent

come

you sure about this I've never been more sure of anything in that life

- Wait, what?

Who would I say Adore is?

Adore is

hot.

That bitch is hot.

Funny, alcoholic (laughs) who must be stopped.

No, she's

she's

an insecure superhero (laughs).

That's what that bitch is.

(wistful music)

Adore, before Drag Race, was a loner.

I mean, she still kind of is, but she was a baby

that was on a television show, briefly,

and the community that she was jumping

into didn't want her, in the beginning.

They thought that I was just kind of going

from fish pond to fish pond, in that

I was just gonna take some of my Internet fame,

that I got from my 15 minutes of fame

on television, back in the day,

and bring it to their community,

and kind of steal what they've been working for.

And I understood that, but I also understood

that I had to work twice as hard

to kind of prove myself, and let them know

that this is the path that I'm choosing.

And I always wanted to have makeup involved

in my life, with singing.

And I think they got it, after awhile,

but they were not kind to me, in the beginning (laughs).

I think, after American Idol, I felt the urge

to kind of get back into the entertainment industry.

I felt like there were a lot of doors

that were closing, after that,

that kind of lit a fire up my ass, for sure.

- Hello, racers, and welcome

to the starting line of RuPaul's Drag Race.

(cheering)

- I was captivated.

I was just like, there's no way

there's an America's Next Top Model with people like us.

I felt like the little babies are feeling, now.

I can't even imagine seeing that when I was 12.

I'd be like, "Whoa, my life's gonna be so different!"

I even told my mom, she's like,

"You told me the same thing for Idol."

I was like, I didn't even say,

"Oh, this is something I wanna try to get on."

I was like, "I'm getting on that show when I'm old enough."

I told her that, I was like, "It's a wrap."

I'm home!

I was like, "Oh, my gosh," because I remember the girls

from before Drag Race were not so kind.

I mean, a lot of them were saying,

"If she makes it on, I'm gonna quit drag."

And I'm like, "Well, bitch (laughs mockingly)!

"You're still doing it, ho!"

It was crazy to have these

crazy pivotal moments in your life.

The way your brain is shifting,

being recorded and televised.

It's really cool to kind of have

that documented, for sure, especially when you're stoned,

and you're just watching a marathon.

when I was doing stupid (beep),

when the things you get offered

that you don't really want, when you're drunk enough,

sometimes you will say, "Yeah,"

and that's one of the main things

I tell the new girls, is to always say, "Yes,"

when you wanna say, "Yes."

Don't do it because it's cool, because it'll (beep) you.

I didn't get hooked on drugs,

but it just became too cute, and too often,

"because it starts to eat at your creativity,

"and it starts to kinda warp your mind,

"and if you're not ready for that,

"then it'll kick your (beep) ass."

I learned how to balance my life

I was just like, "I need to take back time

"for myself, and kinda gain perspective

"on what's going on, and what's happening

"in my life, and who's around me."

I don't know, I just wanted to

not be popular, for a seconed.

And that sounds really stupid,

but after awhile, you just don't wanna be seen.

And it's like, I wanted that for a year.

And even though I did go crazy,

I work for my mom, and I work for my family, or for myself.

So I think that, and I wanna get into acting,

but other than that, I mean, whatever.

I don't think Adore's ever gonna die.

She's the leading superhero in my life.

Whenever I have to deal with anything,

even my lawyer tells me, he's like, "Honestly,

"I have to talk to you like this?

"What would Adore do?"

It's very that, though, because you have

to put on that gig, and I'm always like, "Okay."

Bellator 206: Carpool Conversation - Mike Goldberg and Rampage Jackson - Duration: 5:58.

- Aight, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson?

- It is.

- We're gonna do some some carpool conversation.

How's that work?

- Let's do it.

- Aight, we're going to have a little fun.

What vehicle are we going to take though?

We have some choices.

- We don't want to take the camp car, we use this

for getting back and forth to the gym.

We don't want to take this one,

this will scare you.

It's a Hellcat.

- [Mike] It'll scare me?

- [Rampage] It'll scare you, the way I drive it.

- You've scared me before.

Alright, what about your big monster truck, where's that?

- Oh, that little jeep?

- Alright, I got to check it out.

Monster Energy, I mean.

- [Rampage] Yeah, you know.

- [Mike] That's your partner forever.

- [Rampage] Oh yeah, you know I love Monster.

- [Mike] Yeah, oh, that's pimp.

- [Rampage] Yeah.

- [Mike] You got a ticket?

- [Rampage] Yeah, I got a ticket.

I like parking on sidewalks.

Yeah, American Fastbacks made this Jeep right here man.

The sickest Jeep I've ever seen.

So, we can take the Wraith, we'll take the Royce.

- You got the keys for me?

- Ah, here we go, yeah.

- I'm driving right?

- Oh, hell no.

- Come on!

- You ain't driving the Wraith!

- Come on-I thought we were tight?

- We are man, but, you know,

we'll be tighter with you on the passenger side.

- [Mike] Alright, fair enough, fair enough.

- [Mike] I got a question for you.

- [Rampage] Okay.

- [Mike] I happen to think, in a very manly way,

that you're better looking than Bradley Cooper.

- [Rampage] No way.

- [Mike] No, come on, I do.

- [Rampage] That guy gets girls drooling over him.

- [Mike] Well, I know he's hot.

But, my question was going to be, like,

why aren't you still doing movies,

if Bradley Cooper is doing movies?

- [Rampage] Well, I've been doing like little stuff here.

I just did a movie with Joe Carnahan.

It was me, Rashad Evans, and Frank Grillo,

and a couple of other people was in there, Mel Gibson.

It wasn't a big part, but I had fun.

- [Mike] Yeah.

- [Rampage] Me and Rashad, we was German twins.

And then, I just did like a little small movie

with my good friend Noel G.

We call him "Hector" because, you know

he plays "Hector" in a lot of movies.

Yeah, he had me do a horror film.

You know, I got offered to do sitcoms and stuff like that

but I just can't do it because, you know,

I still love fighting and I want to do fighting while I can.

Until, my body tells me I can't.

And then, I'll concentrate more on movies a lot.

It's a lot movies I was supposed to do, that I just really

couldn't do because of fights coming my way,

and I still audition here and there,

but I'm not great at auditioning.

So, a lot of times I don't land auditions.

Like, I lose them to The Rock or somebody like that.

- Naw, you're still good.

So, Liam Neeson says

"I have a very particular set of skills,

skills I have acquired" I think that your skills

are more dangerous, than his skills.

- Yeah, I think that if I did like action films,

like, it would be more believable.

- Yeah.

- Because people like "Well, Rampage really could

kick people's ass like that."

And so, that's why I really want to do more action films.

Just, because I'm a big kid.

Like, you can't really do that shit in real life.

You really can't go in high car speed chases,

beat up people, and shoot people.

You can't do that stuff in real life.

I like to play it and do it in video games.

But, if you can do it in the movies, like,

it would be great.

So, honestly what I plan on doing

after I retire from fighting, I plan on

just making like my own small budget films,

probably like market them overseas or, something like that.

- I want to rapid fire

a couple of questions at you, alright?

- Alright, alright.

- Who wins in a fight? You or Mr.T?

- Me!

- When we get home to your house, can I get a chain?

- Hell no.

- [Mike] Can I have one of your chains?

- [Rampage] No.

- [Mike] Can I call you "Q"?

- Yeah.

- What motivates you to fight Wanderlei

for the fourth time?

- Because he beat me two times to my one time.

I can't sleep well with that.

- So, you've had some great fights.

You've had some very important fights.

Where does this fight rank amongst the

most important fights of your life?

- [Rampage] This is probably one of the most important

fights of my life to me, because like,

after everything is said and done, you know,

when we're both retired and moved on to other things

and stuff, I can say that he don't have that over my head

of him beating me two to one, or whatever, you know?

- So, you need to knock him out to really even the score?

- I need to knock him out to even the score.

- You need to knock him out cold really.

- I need to put him to sleep.

- With you and with Wanderlei,

there could be some real pure violence.

- Yeah.

- Because people always ask me, like,

who are my favorite fighters?

You and Wanderlei have always been two

of my favorite fighters because of the anticipation of

what could really happen inside the cage.

- Out of all three of our fights,

none of them ever went the distance,

they never went the distance.

- [Mike] No.

Do you expect this one to?

- I don't expect this fight to go the distance either.

I will be surprised if Wanderlei makes it

out of the first round.

- Yeah.

You're bigger than him.

- Way bigger than him. - [Mike] Yeah.

- He hits hard though.

- [Rampage] Yeah, he hits hard, he hits hard.

I can take a punch.

- [Announcer] A TKO win for Rampage Jackson!

- Alright, September 29th my friend.

- Yeah.

- Now, here we are to train.

- Yeah, it's time to train.

Let's not park right here.

- Time to get yelled at by Tiki a little bit.

- Yeah, I wonder.

- Does he yell at you?

- He tries.

I wonder what he's going to have me do today?

That's what I want to know.

I never know what I am going to do, until I get here.

- Really?

- Yeah, I don't know.

I just know the days when I'm gonna spar,

that's pretty much.

- [Mike] Is that your favorite day?

- Yeah, I love sparing.

It's my favorite part of my job.

- [Mike] Promise I get to drive next time?

- Yeah, next time.

- Alright, next time.

- You got to spot me at the counter though.

- Alright.

- [Mike] Tiki, are you going to yell at him today?

EPIC HOT WHEELS BACKYARD OBSTACLE COURSE RACE TRACK at the SHARER FAM HOUSE!! - Duration: 11:14.

oh yeah Sharers major shout out to Hot Wheels who's sponsoring this video they

sent all this awesome product and are helping us create it Sharers check hot

wheels jump that we made out of cardboard boxes Grace I think it's gonna

work yeah Sharer this gonna be the start to the epic Hot Wheels backyard

obstacle course we start all the way up here

the Hot Wheels cars gonna go all the way down there hopefully it'll have enough

speed and power to jump and get some air but there's only one way to find out so

Grace let's go inside we got to grab a Hot Wheels car oh we got a lot and I

mean a lot to choose from grace which one should I send down that epic

backyard oh this one looks good what's it called

it's like a bottle oh yeah check it out the carbonator this is awesome it's got

a little seat right there to ride in umm yeah let's send this down the track

let's see how it does Steve you really think this track is going to work it's

pretty long and that jump is whew I think it's gonna work I think it's

definitely gonna work okay the carbonator is going on first test here

we go ready three two one lunch there it goes there it goes there it goes come on

come on Oh Oh take a little planning just to get everything just right I

think the track is a little bit then let's try it again try number two back

to the top would do okay here we go you ready yep launching three two one

go go go the car is getting plenty of speed but I'm thinking you may need a

car with a little more weight yes a little heavier Oh what this one out the

aero pod yeah super heavy a dump truck let's try this one I think this is gonna

work launching the Aero pod here we go three two one go oh wow it's going fast

oh yeah we got the jump working that means it's on to the next step yeah next

step is to build out the obstacle course we got all these awesome supplies we got

a giant cone we got a ladder we've got soda bottles we got buckets we

got baskets and to step things up a notch at the very end grace come down

here this basket will be worth one point place that right here this basket will

be worth two points and this basket will be worth three points oh I know the

first thing that I'm never put on the obstacle course check this out I made

this this morning well what is that it's a tunnel just connect the track slide it

in whoa that's like a perfect Hot Wheels track mod yeah click it all together

whoo that's awesome let's do a little test and yeah perfect

okay grace for this one I'm gonna use the ladder technique Oh what's the

latter technique all you got to do take this ladder and let's disconnect part of

the track disconnect it right here then what we're going to do is lay the ladder

here but the Hutus track is gonna go in and out of the ladder

we need to prop it up right here yeah just like that

let's see hang on oh I got just the idea check this out oh yeah

the multi-leaf boxes just like that design just like this now we'll run the

track up and through here hmm oh I got it we'll just go like this all

the way right here whoa there we go so now we got a little louder Hill as the

Hot Wheels car comes up here and may lose some speed but as long as it can

make it here it'll catch speed as it starts heading down and yeah that's good

okay so far we have the invisible tunnel the ladder and I think I know just the

right thing to add so let's go get it what is it

look at that electric lime green orange purple here it'll be like a little soda

City the car will weep inside and out through

each bottle and I'm going to show you that I need to go get some more tracks

and leave them inside and out so let's grab some curve pieces

whoa check these out let's make them curved around the soda can you know what

that means guys disconnect the track right here

just like that add a curve add another one and another one last but not least a

curve so now we have all the S curve but we got place two soda can

so let's set them up like this and the car has to go underneath without hitting

them and not only is there one soda tunnel there's two so let's put these

ones right here oh yeah let's do a test to see how well this holds up they're

ready three two one go all the way through

yeah you know what I actually have another obstacle to add anyway which one

Cera's come check this one out but before we add the next step let's test

what we have so far first we have the Hot Wheels car going through the

invisible bridge then we have the Hot Wheels car going over and under the

ladder catching up a little speed at the heads down through the soda tunnel

bridge and then it'll be to the next step so let's go get the next night up

let's go I got the safety cone of loop

now that we have the cone we're also gonna add some loops to this so we're

gonna take this box and I move the cone a little bit farther down I think we're

going to need some speed for this but the tracks going to go from the soda

tunnel bridges all the way down as the Hot Wheels cars come off this cone we're

gonna head down this hill pick up a bunch of speed and then they're gonna go

through this double loop system they're gonna go so fast through here then

they're gonna come out this end and we're gonna put the jump down here I'm

gonna go off the ramp into the laundry baskets this is going to be awesome

yeah so let's go ahead and connect the track right off the cone right there

everything to this loop box right here right like that I think this is gonna

work a lot of obstacles going on right now let's test what we have so far it's

going to be starting at the top of the track it's gonna go through the

invisible tunnel and it's gonna go over and under the ladder bridge pass a

ladder bridge through the soda bridge tunnel over top of the cone through the

loop to loop system and then if all goes well it continues to make it off the

ramp and into the air whoa sweet that's what we have so far let's finish

connecting everything just like that oh let's do a little test right here so

after the soda tunnel it'll come here head down awesome let's go ahead and

move the jump all the way down here Matt's out a little more track looks

good connecting the final pieces and connecting the last final pieces oh yeah

there we go check it out the backyard obstacle course is complete I have no

idea if this is gonna work we have not tested this out yet but there's only one

way to find out will this work grace let's start testing

you ready for this oh yeah yeah sure I've been waiting all day for this

I know it's that's it I got my three favorite ooh those look good they're all

aerodynamic that one's probably the heaviest of them all yeah let's try them

okay grace you got your cards picked out plus one and you're up first

ooh that one looks good here we go I don't know if this is gonna

work this is a lot of obstacles that the cars have to make it through before they

make it off the jump but let's find out you ready here we go launching in three

two one go tunnel over over over oh oh so close

okay my turn Sharer Fam I'm gonna do this one this like

dragster one this looks pretty good pretty stealthy not very heavy though so

we'll see if it makes it watching

it means that part okay here's my next one you ready yeah launch it and three

two one go go go go go threw up yeah Oh grace and in the same spot as last time

maybe you have a bad technique you know what I'll try the exact super grace just

did let's see how far I can get it here we go watching oh it's the car the car

interesting okay let's go find another super lightweight stealth car and I

think it'll make it all the way I think you think that's gonna work I think so

as 24 and it's blue I think Oh work okay load it up let's do it here we go grace

ready launch it three two one go go go come on make it a little farther Oh hmm

okay shares you know what let's grab this one again the super stealth one

let's see how far we can make this one let me launch this what I think I have a

good technique you think you have a good technique yeah this cars gonna go all

the way shirts get ready it's gonna go through the whole entire course you know

what grace I'm a smash like button can't give you good luck it's got to make it

all the way let's do this there it goes there it goes it's going up the ladder

-Becky?

-Becky. Becky.

-What?

-Where are you?

---

-Hey, it's Mahisha.

Come here, come on!

Tell me what's wrong, tell me

what's wrong?

-No, it's just a lot.

I'm just.

-But you know what?

I think it's going to be

not as hard as you think.

-What's the most overwhelming piece of this?

-We have to create stuff

just completely out of our element

-But babe, let me tell you,

this is business, like real deal, holy feel,

it gets real.

-I know.

-Right now, this is the real deal.

-But I'm not confident in everything I do.

-But listen, you don't have to do

something you haven't done before,

he didn't say go

recreate something that you've never done.

It's really, I felt like,

it's about the presentation and how we name it.

Right?

-I truly understand the stress Becky's under.

Her business fell apart

and now she has to reinvent it from the ground up.

That is scary,

but she has to get her head back in the game

and get focused because

she has the business opportunity of a lifetime

and she can't let it slip away.

NASA ScienceCasts: Thinking Inside the Box - Duration: 4:11.

Thinking Inside the Box – presented by Science@NASA

Most people picture a glovebox as the small space on the passenger side of your car.

But if you're an astronaut floating 250 miles up,

you might picture a large glass enclosure that allows you to conduct experiments

that could change how we live both on and off Earth.

This is the Microgravity Science Glovebox or MSG. It was installed in the International Space Station (ISS)

in 2002 to allow small and medium-sized investigations from many disciplines

including biotechnology, combustion science, fluid physics, fundamental physics and materials science.

Many of these experiments can involve fluids, flames, particles and fumes

that you wouldn't want to escape into the space station's enclosed space,

where they might make the astronauts sick or damage the station's sensitive computers and electrical systems.

Instead, crewmembers install investigation hardware into the box and seal it shut.

Next, they insert their hands into what's known as a glove ring assembly

to safely manipulate their experiments or samples.

Glove ring assemblies are available in a variety of configurations

to accommodate differences in crew member hand sizes as well as preferences in tactile response.

The investigator views his or her work through an acrylic window.

There's even the capability to install a high definition camera system

with a real-time video link installed inside the box

to allow investigators on Earth to watch experiments being performed.

The MSG has proven so popular over the past 16 years, that a second glovebox is being added to the station.

The new model will focus exclusively on Life Sciences investigations,

and is known as the Life Sciences Glovebox or LSG.

This fully enclosed facility will allow crew members to perform developmental biology experiments

on cells, insects, aquatics, plants, and animals.

The LSG is almost twice the size of the original MSG, and can accommodate two astronaut crew members,

sometimes guided in real-time by scientists back on Earth, to conduct one or more experiments simultaneously.

Safety was a paramount consideration in its design.

As air circulates through the workspace, activated charcoal filters continuously clean it

by absorbing chemicals that may be present. In addition, a high-efficiency air filter removes particles and aerosols.

This allows the facility to provide two levels of containment for handling Biohazard Level II and lower biological materials.

So why is it necessary to have a glovebox on station devoted to life sciences?

J. Michael Cole, the deputy manager of the ISS Projects Office

at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama explains:

"First, exploration crew members will be in microgravity conditions for an extended period of time,

and it's important to know how that will affect their physiology and biology.

The addition of LSG will supplement the ability to conduct those types of research experiments aboard the ISS.

Second, Life Science experiments may give us new insights into how we treat diseases here on Earth.

For instance, treatments for osteoporosis have benefitted from research performed in microgravity."

The next time you're asked to think outside the box,

you may just want to consider one of the most unique labs ever built and think inside the box instead.

Top 5 Wednesday [Favorite Covers] - Duration: 3:26.

Hey guys, it's Nat and today is Top 5 Wednesday.

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey over at gingerreadslainey and is now hosted by

Sam over at Thoughts on Tomes and I will leave links to both of their channels, as well as

the goodreads group down in the description.

So this week's topic is Favorite Covers and I've decided to limit myself to only covers

of books that I have here with me at college, so without further ado, let's get started.

So, number five is The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers.

I love this cover so much because it is the quintessential sci-fi cover.

You've got this big, like, blocky font here.

You've got this spaceship there, planet there, they're in space.

So *laughs* everything about this cover just is a perfect reflection of what's inside and

it just screams sci-fi adventure.

I don't know, maybe it's the fact that the title's in all caps, but I love it, so yeah.

So, number four is American Gods by Neil Gaiman and this book actually has, like, several

different covers out, but this is definitely one of my favorites.

I just love how simple it is, you know, it's just like two different shades of blue and

then, white–some white there.

This does bug me.

It's not a sticker, it's actually a part of the cover and that's the one thing I don't

like about it, but I like this kind of–kind of sketchy art style, you know?

Like, with the tree and just–with the font as well.

I feel like that suits the tone of Neil Gaiman's writing and yeah, I don't know, I just love it.

Number three is These Rebel Waves by Sara Raasch.

This is the first book in her second series–I believe it's a series and her first series,

Snow Like Ashes, also had amazing covers, but I think I like this even better.

I don't know, I really like covers with dark colors and this is mostly black with, like,

little pops of green and a little bit of red there and some, like, dark blue 'cause this

is, like, water and I don't know, I just love the aesthetic of this.

For number two, we have another Neil Gaiman book and it is Norse Mythology and this cover

is just stunning.

I love it so much.

When this book is up on my shelves, I always have the cover facing out because it's one

of my favorites.

I love any cover that's basically black and has any kind of metallic color, uh, on it

and this book is, like, kind of gold, but also some silver and some kind of, like, coppery colors.

I don't know if that'll show, but yeah, I love this.

Finally, for number one, we have Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton.

Isn't this cover just gorgeous?

Again, with the metallics.

I love, love, love the metallics.

I also love this kind of feathery, flourish-y design we've got going on here.

And this, I believe is actually the UK cover.

I ordered this on Book Outlet–or maybe it was Book Depository.

One of those.

Uh, because I can't stand the U.S. covers, they're boring, but these are absolutely gorgeous.

Alright, that's it for this week's Top 5 Wednesday.

Let me know, down in the comments, what your Top 5 Favorite Covers are.

I'd love to know.

I hope you guys enjoyed this video, if you did, please give it a thumbs up and if you'd

like to see more videos from me, make sure to click that subscribe button as well.

Thank you guys for watching and I'll see y'all soon!

Semi-belated Banned Book A Thon TBR [CC] - Duration: 6:15.

I just want to point out that very appropriate for today's video, my headband design is bookworms!

[Sped up Once and For All from Newsies]

Hello readers, writers, theatre geeks, and whoever else you may be!

My name is K. Marie.

Welcome back to my channel!

I'm going to take some time to share my TBR for the Banned Book A Thon, which is a read

a thon that takes place during Banned Book Week.

If you're not familar with Banned Book Week, it's basically a time of year, usually the

last week of September, when the American Library Association raises awareness of times

when people have "challenged" books, which usually means wanting them removed from library

shelves or a school curriculum.

Basically a time to raise awareness of attempts to remove books from shelves and to celebrate

the freedom to read.

Every year during banned book week for the last few years since I sometime when was in

high school, I would check the American Library Association's website and check the list

of the top 10 books banned the previous year and any other special lists they came out

with because sometimes they have stuff like frequently challenged classic novels, frequently

challenged young adult, frequently challenged diverse books.

So I would choose at least one book to get through.

This year's TBR is a bit more ambitious with a total of five book, three are books

from the various banned book lists and those are kind of I guess my focus for the week

and two are technically not from the banned book lists but I still want to talk about

them because—I'll explain more later but it'll kind of be an exploration of the concept

of self censorship.

But I'll get to those later.

I'll start with the three that are actually from the banned book list.

The first book that I am planning to read this week is Drama by Raina Telgemier.

This is a graphic novel, I believe it is middle grade and it's about students in a drama

club.

I believe this was on the 2016 frequently challenged books list.

The next book I have up is The Absolutely True Diary of a part-Time Indian by Sherman

Alexie.

This one has been on the frequently challenged book lists for several years.

Pretty much every year when I look up the book lists I come across it and this year

it happened to be in your library.

I saw it and I grabbed a copy.

The third book of the actually from the banned book lists part of this video is actually

going to be a reread for me.

I read this book when it first came out in February 2017.

It was released in 2017, it made the New York TImes bestseller list, and it made the 2017

frequently challenged book lis and that is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.

I first read this when it came out in February 2017 and the movie is coming out soon so I

figure this is a good time to reread this.

Especially since in its first year out it made both the New York Times bestseller list

and the top 10 frequently challenged book list in less than a year.

Ok so those are the books from the frequently challenged book lists.

Now the next two books I'm not necessarily gonna get to during this particular week but

a while back I read an article, about how the Nancy Drew books were originally written in

the 1930s but then in the 1960s they were edited and "toned down" a bit—if I can

find the article I'll put a link in the description—and I told my mom about it.

When found the older editions of the first 5 Nancy Drew books.

I may not get to it during banned book week itself but with the week' s focus on thinking

about censorship of books I'm going to use this as an opportunity to sit down and read

the original 1930s version and compare it to the quote unquote "toned down" 1960s

edition Nd just compare them, see what changed.

I'm not sure—I do know that they made the books shorter, like you can see they are

smaller.

The yellow one is the newer one and white book jacket and blue cover is the older one.

And um I do know they made the book shorter and don't know how much of the editing was

to make things shorter to fit a differently forumula and how much was stuff that they

felt the need to "tone down" so that'll also be interesting to look at.

That's my TBR list for the 2018 Banned Book A Thon.

Feel free to share down below if you have any banned book recommendations, anything

you're planning to read during Banned Week.

Thanks for watching, and I'll have another video up soon.

Bye!
