The first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok has dropped, and for less than two minutes of footage,

it's positively loaded with intel on Marvel's latest project.

From how the Incredible Hulk fits into all this, to the new big bad who looks to take

out all of Asgard on her own, here's everything we learned in the first Thor: Ragnarok trailer

— and why we think the film will almost certainly blow us all away when it drops on

November 3rd.

Hela is hella powerful

Outside of Loki, villains have almost always been the weak point across the MCU.

After the fairly boring Dark Elves in The Dark World, Marvel is looking to up the ante

in a big way with the villain in Ragnarok.

Cate Blanchett is playing Marvel's Norse goddess Hela — and she more than lives up to the

title.

We get our first look at Hela here, and she is positively terrifying.

Blanchett looks plenty intimidating in the role, as Thor and the full might of Asgard

looks to be no match for her destructive capabilities.

Mjolnir destroyed

Thor's weapon of choice has been a key piece of the MCU since we first got a peek at Coulson

and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team trying to mine it out of the ground in Iron Man 2's post-credit

scene.

But, all of that ends here.

Thor tries to take on Hela with a trademark throw of Mjolnir.

But, she's powerful enough to stop it midair.

Worse?

She also crushes it into charred little hammer bits, meaning Thor is officially hammer-less.

No more hammer time, y'all.

"Stop.

Hammer time!"

Considering the big deal that's been made about this hammer, and how no one can lift

it...

Or in this case, hold it, without being worthy, it makes one wonder just how powerful Hela

might actually be.

That hammer has always been one of the most powerful objects in the MCU, and it was just

turned into a scrap heap.

"Asgard is dead"

We see Hela face off with the whole of Asgard's army on her own, shortly before fire engulfs

the entire city.

Hela makes the point even clearer with her line:

"Asgard is dead."

We've seen Asgard face its fair share of damage in other Thor films, but we've never

seen the city of the gods actually wiped out.

The events here could have a lasting impact on the MCU, especially if it means there are

a lot of displaced Norse gods just roaming the galaxy.

The new faces

From Robert Redford in Captain America: The Winter Solider, to Glenn Close in Guardians

of the Galaxy, the MCU has been attracting its fair share of A-list actors over the past

few years.

Now, it's time for Jurassic Park alum Jeff Goldblum to make the jump into the Marvel

universe.

Here, Goldblum plays the Grandmaster, who seems to be pulling the strings of the super-powered

gladiatorial games where Thor finds himself after being captured.

Goldblum looks amazing in his costume, and this looks to be one of the most colorful

Marvel films to date.

The footage here also gives us our first good look at Creed alum Tessa Thompson, an Asgardian warrior who seems to be working for the Grandmaster.

Valkyrie will serve as a potential love interest for Thor, with Natalie Portman's Jane Foster

off the board.

Judging by what we see of her here, it'll be interesting to see how her allegiances

are tested along the way.

And finally, Karl Urban takes on the role of Skurge, the Executioner, in one of the

coolest shoutouts to Thor's comic book past that we've seen on screen.

When you see this...the filmmakers are reminding you of The Mighty Thor #362.

In that issue, which comes from the legendary story arc by Walt Simonson in the '80s, the

Executioner holds off the hordes of Hel...with a couple of machine guns and his pure, unfiltered

rage.

Karl Urban's already a comics-to-film legend for his role in Dredd.

Chances seem good he'll go down in history for doing the Executioner justice, too.

Loki's back

When last we left Loki, he was the secret king of Asgard, having assumed Odin's form

at the end of The Dark World.

But, we see him back in his Tom Hiddleston face here, wielding a few knives during a

fight scene.

Loki shows up a bit later sitting with the Grandmaster and watching Thor's fight with the Hulk.

So, is Loki pulling the strings to keep Thor locked up?

Is he there to rescue him?

Is he just there to enjoy the show?

We can't wait to find out.

Heimdall goes rogue

Idris Elba's Heimdall has been a quiet force in all the Thor movies, guarding the Bifrost

and generally being a legit badass.

But, he loses the fancy armor and finds himself flying solo in Ragnarok.

The brief shot of Heimdall we see here shows him looking very much like scruffy Idris Elba,

but he's still wielding that sword and mowing down bad guys as needed.

We've never really seem Heimdall out on his own, seemingly without a Bifrost to defend.

Will he eventually join up with Thor to try and retake Asgard?

Thor and Hulk reunited

As expected, the best moment is when we finally get a look at Mark Ruffalo's Hulk in full-on

World War Hulk attire, ready to take on all comers in the gladiator ring.

"Yess!"

Yeah, we felt the same way, Thor.

We still don't know exactly how Hulk ended up in deep space, or why he seems keen

to start wailing on Thor, but this is the first set-up of the weirdest buddy movie we

never knew we wanted to see.

They borrowed Star-Lord's walkman

Guardians of the Galaxy set the tone for the MCU in regards to how popular music can be

used to sell a story, and it seems Thor: Ragnarok borrowed a cassette or two from Star-Lord's

tape deck.

The entire trailer is set to the rocking beats of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song,"

and combined with the neon colors and font book straight out of Star Trek II: The Wrath

of Khan, it sets a tone unlike any Thor movie we've seen before.

And it looks like the most fun they've had in Asgard in ages.

Well, you know, except for all the destruction and stuff.

Worst Travel Day EVER! Kathmandu, Nepal to Delhi, India - Duration: 7:36.

Good morning.

Good morning.

Morning.

So it is another travel day.

Our time in Kathmandu is up.

And next up we're off to India to rendezvous with Sam's parents.

Yeah, my parents are going to be joining us and we're going to be traveling for close

to a month in India.

It is going to be an amazing adventure.

I mean it is kind of sad that our time in Nepal went by so fast but I just feel like

our travels have just been going so quickly this past year.

I don't know what it is.

It feels like we just arrive and then we're leaving.

We're leaving.

But anyways yeah we have a busy schedule in India and we'll tell you more about that soon.

So let's go check in.

This is Audrey ranting...

Staff didn't think our e-visa was a real visa

They decided to check in other passengers instead

so we waited...a long time

Then we got taken to the back office

We had to go online and prove we were granted entry

it was a stressful 1+ hour

Well I would say this has been a very stressful morning.

We were able to make it through but for some reason our visa was a huge problem and we

were there probably for an hour.

I thought they were not going to let us go through security or get on the plane.

But anyways, that is sorted.

Now our flight has been delayed again.

It had already been delayed once before.

And the power has also gone out in the airport.

So it could be a long day.

How are you feeling?

At the moment.

I'm still frazzled about the India situation because yeah.

Um, we have something called an e-visa.

Yeah.

It is where you apply online um you're approved and then you're given this form to print out.

And I guess the people working here have never seen that before.

And so they weren't accepting it.

And so luckily someone had the idea when we went to the back office to actually check

it out.

Like to check it out to look it up online.

Look it up online and then it was confirmed yes we are allowed to go.

But yeah, it looked like we were going to be not let on that plane.

And like it would be really frustrating just the two of us traveling but the fact we are

meeting up with my parents and we've arranged this trip like months in advance and we've

already booked train tickets and hotels.

Just like all of these thoughts were racing through my head.

Like oh my gosh we're not going to be there to meet them.

You know it was just awful.

I'm just absolutely frazzled right now.

I'm trying to calm down but this has not been a great day.

Yeah.

Now it is just a waiting game.

We have to see when our plane is actually arriving.

We're arriving a day before them so I don't care so much that our flight is delayed just

as long as we get on that flight and as long as we make it to Delhi today it'll be a good

day.

Yeah.

Frisking of person and checking of hand baggage is mandatory for all passengers.

We are experienced that.

Check.

The food is here.

I didn't think they were going to feed us because it is a very short flight but I'm

so hungry.

Wonderful surprise.

I'm not really sure.

And this is a I forget the name but this is a popular Indian dessert that I've had before.

We took so long going through immigration that the luggage belt is empty.

Oh my gosh.

I think we are the last people to pick up luggage.

Well this is pretty bad but we didn't even finish the vlog.

It has been that stressful of a day.

So I feel like we need to rewind.

Immigration.

Oh right.

So the issue at immigration once we got to India to Delhi you know we handed in our e-visa

that was totally fine but the issue was that there were hardly any officials working there.

And there was a huge line and then a whole.

It took two hours right?

Yeah, and like a whole bunch of the people who were working there just decided to go

on break at the same time and they were like chit-chatting with their friends in front

of us while we're like just standing there.

Let us through.

Yeah but as bad as that was the real problem right now is that there is a cash crisis in

India.

The government removed the 500 and 1000 Rupee notes but they haven't quite replaced them

replenished it with these new denominations.

And so like there is just these massive lines at ATMs and a lot of ATMs literally just have

no cash in them.

Yeah.

So we're finding that out now that we're in the city and we hit up like eight or nine

tonight and only one of them worked and we could only take out the equivalent of a $150

US dollars.

So tomorrow the mission begins again as we try to find some cash.

Yes, so this is probably one of the worst travel days in a while.

In between all the sightseeing if we do much sightseeing we're basically going to be hitting

up banks and trying to like get as much cash to store so we have money to travel with.

Because I mean we use credit cards for hotels and restaurants but you still need money.

Well hopefully we can.

Yeah, we'll find out soon.

So yeah, that has been our first day in Delhi and tomorrow Sam's parents arrive.

Woo hoo!

It should be interesting.

It feels like we've just been complaining all day long.

How To Power Your House In an Emergency From Your Electric Car - Duration: 9:49.

Thanks primarily to Tesla and its PowerWall consumer energy storage product -- not to

mention the many other grid-tied and off-grid energy storage products now available, there

are more people than ever before who can keep their houses powered when there's a brownout

or power cut.

But not everyone can afford to put thousands of dollars of solar panels on their roof or

battery packs in their garage, meaning that when the power goes out, they're at the

mercy of the local utility company.

That is, unless you happen to own pretty much any electric car on the market today.

Because with one of those, a little time, and a few hundred in cash, you can keep your

refrigerator running, power some low-power lights, and yes, even edit a YouTube show.

Hi there!

My name's Nikki Gordon-Bloomfield from Transport Evolved, and today I want to show you how

it's possible to get emergency backup power from your electric car with little more than

an inexpensive twelve-volt to mains power inverter from your local hardware store and

a correctly-rated extension cord.

And while a commercial battery backup system (and solar panels) are a preferred option,

if like me, you rent, that's not an option.

So this solution (as I learned,) works perfectly.

Y'see, as regular viewers will know, we had a powercut at the house on Friday morning

thanks to a major storm passing through the Pacific Northwest.

And while some of our neighbors got their power back by the end of the day, our house

-- and consequently my editing studio -- stayed without power for the best part of thirty-six

hours.

Nevertheless, I was able to keep the refrigerator cool and some basic equipment powered thanks

to this twelve-volt mains inverter and the twenty four kilowatt-hour battery pack inside

our twenty-thirteen Nissan LEAF.

Best of all, the solution cost me just two hundred dollars and with a little extra work,

should be adaptable so that either of our electric cars can provide a constant one kilowatt

to run our home in any future powercut.

To start, I headed out to my local DIY store, where I picked up this inexpensive twelve

volt power inverter for just under a hundred dollars.

Added to that, I picked up a heavy-duty, one hundred foot power cord, a secondary twenty-foot

extension cord, and a spare power strip.

As a side, make sure the inverter you buy comes with a way to direct-connect to your

car's 12-volt battery -- either using post terminal connections or in the case of mine,

heavy-duty clips.

With all my equipment purchased, I stopped off at my local Fred Meyers which happened

to still have power and a working CHAdeMO DC quick charger in the parking lot.

Thirty-minutes later, and I had a Nissan LEAF with about a ninety six percent battery charge

and by the time I got back to the house, that was down to ninety-one percent.

Luckily, I rent a townhouse with a garage, so I can always pull an almost-full electric

car into my garage, pull down the garage door and leave the car on without worrying about

anyone running off with my car.

Obviously however, if you don't have a way to secure your car, this solution will require

a little extra work on your part.

With the car switched off, locate your car's twelve-volt 'starter' battery.

The location of this does vary according to your car, but for the Nissan LEAF, you'll

find it under the bonnet.

Other cars -- like the Chevy Volt -- have it hidden under the load bay floor at the

back.

With the twelve-volt battery found, connect the appropriate side of the battery to the

corresponding side of the inverter.

Negative goes to negative, and positive goes to positive.

Next, power your electric car on.

To keep power drain at a minimum, make sure you turn off automatic headlights and daytime

running lights (if you can), as well as the radio, heating, and air conditioning.

It's important here to keep the car in its 'ready' state too: simply turning on the

accessory circuit won't work, as the car needs to be able to charge its twelve volt

battery from the main traction battery pack.

I'll cover this a little more in a second.

With your inverter connected and your car on, plug in your extension cord to your inverter

and then, when ready, press the power button on your inverter.

If it's like mine, you should hear a reassuring 'beep' as the inverter powers up.

Congrats!

You've now got power running from your car to your mains lead, and at this point you

can plug in the devices you need to power.

Bear in mind that things like kettles and microwaves require far more power than your

inverter will be able to provide -- unless you have a special low-power one designed

for use when camping.

Refrigerators -- at least smaller ones -- should be just fine operating on just one kilowatt

of power, but to be extra-prepared, check the specifications for your refrigerator and

other appliances before a power cut so you know which devices can be powered and which

ones can't.

Another point here is that while laptop computers are generally really happy operating from

power from a cheap inverter, some desktop computers, televisions, and other large appliances

aren't, even if their power drain is lower than the max continuous power output of your

inverter, cheap inverters output something called a 'modified sine wave' rather than

the 'pure sine wave' you'll find coming out of the wall in most houses.

I'm not going to go into the technical differences between the two here, but the important thing

here is that the sensitive power electronics inside some devices need a pure, clean power

signal, while others can happily work with the choppy, blocking output of a cheap twelve

volt inverter.

Again, if you're worried about which devices can and can't use the modified sine wave

output of a cheap power inverter, check with your device manufacturers ahead of time.

Or, alternatively, invest in a more expensive twelve-volt inverter that produces a cleaner

mains signal.

As always, your mileage may vary, and while some say modified sine wave can damage appliances,

most modern equipment does seem to withstand the fluctuations without a problem.

As for buzzing?

You may find some things 'buzz' when you use them from a twelve-volt inverter, either

because the power is too dirty for the appliance, or because there's no ground (since most

12-volt inverters have none).

It's up to you if you decide to continue using devices that buzz or unplug them (I'd

err on the side of caution).

So, you've got all your things plugged in, you're not overloading the circuit, and

everything is operating as it should.

What next?

Well, you're going to want to keep an eye on your car, so make sure to check in on it

every hour or so.

Based on my experiences, a fully-charged car like the LEAF will happily keep things running

for hours without breaking into a sweat, although if you're pulling the full 1 kilowatt for

example, you'll have about twenty hours of battery power before you need to think

about disconnecting your system and finding a functioning charging station.

Why?

Well, while the house is running off the twelve-volt battery, your car has a DC to DC circuit in

it to ensure the twelve-volt battery stays fully charged when the car is on and running.

In the LEAF, this circuit can provide about one kilowatt of power from the traction battery

pack to the twelve-volt battery under load, which is why I went for a one kilowatt inverter.

You could technically go for a larger one, but you'll ultimately drain the twelve-volt

battery if you do.

This is also the reason why your car needs to be on and ready to drive, as the main contactors

on the battery pack need to be engaged for the DC to DC to keep the twelve-volt battery

topped up.

Yes, this is all a bit lossy, and there are inefficiencies at every step here.

However, if this is the only choice, it's a good one.

Disconnecting everything is of course the opposite of connection.

Unplug devices first, then switch off the inverter.

Then you can switch off your car and disconnect the twelve-volt cables.

And of course, this works best if you know there's a nearby charging station that works

-- if not, you'll need to ensure you keep enough power in your car's battery pack

to make it to the charging station (and back home) otherwise you'll be stuck.

As for me?

Well, having spent nearly two days powering my house from my LEAF, I'm going to invest

in a couple of extra connectors so that I can wire a permanent solution into both my

LEAF and my RAV4 EV.

That way, even in a major disaster, I can use both cars to keep the house powered if

I need, switching one out for the other so I can find a local charging station.

Given that I live near both a solar-powered CHAdeMO DC quick charging station and a major

city, I'm hopeful that even in a major earthquake I'll have enough power to keep the house

running until local hubs get their power back, and then I can use both cars to keep things

running at home.

Of course, the best option would be for me to purchase a LEAF to Home backup power solution

for my home, have a powerwall, or solar panels on the house.

And when I finally get my own home stateside we may do just that.

Until then, this is a solution I think works pretty darned well.

Just hours ago the US launched approximately 50 Tomahawk missiles against a Syrian military

base near Homs after President Donald Trump ordered the strikes in response for the chemical

attacks in Idlib.

Again, if these chemical attacks had anything to do with the United States, or the global

cabal that controls the United States and its allies (article linked here), it raises

some very serious questions, as have many so called �attacks� where the blame lies

on someone who could be completely innocent.

US ships currently stationed in the Mediterranean sea also reportedly launched a strike on Syria�s

Shayrat airbase on Thursday night local time.

What we know so far:

� U.S. missiles struck Shayrat�s airfields, aircraft hangar, and fuel tankers

� Destroyed fuel tankers caused several explosions and a large fire that has not been

put out yet � At least 15 fighter jets have been damaged

or destroyed � One fighter pilot was killed � several

others wounded � Russians were present at the airbase when

it was attacked

According to US president Donald Trump: �On Tuesday, Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad launched

a horrible � chemical weapons attack on innocent civilians. Using a deadly nerve agent,

Assad choked out the lives of helpless mean, women and children. It was a slow and brutal

death for so many. Even beautiful babies were cruelly murdered in this very barbaric attack.�

There is a saying that reveals democrats and republicans as two wings of the same bird,

and the flight path doesn�t change. One fact that remains to be acknowledged is the

fact that America has been taken over by some sort of secret government. Numerous presidents

and politicians have voiced this concern over the decades, you can see some examples here.

When it comes to the statement above, it bears an unfortunate similarity to those of Obama,

Bush, Clinton and those before. There is a terror war industry that thrives off creating

conflict, and then proposing the solution. In this case, it is ISIS causing problems,

so the Unites States and their allies, in the eyes of the mainstream, must enter into

the region in order to �restore freedom.� Yet at the same time, the US is funding ISIS.

Is this another example of a country take over? Time will tell as this unfolds, but

it�s important we consider the deeper options.

A Conscious Note

Before we continue on with further development on this story, it�s important to consider

and watch our perceptions, reactions and what we put out there when it comes to these unfoldments.

We might want to move into fear, worry, lose hope about our world and so forth. We may

want to judge actions, get angry online and aggressively write about things. Ask, how

does this serve?

By moving into these emotional states of being we learn what triggers we have, but we also

are presented with an opportunity to move through them. After all, what plays out in

our world is a reflection of humanity as a whole, and by doing our part to shift our

own selves and perspectives within, we begin to pull power and energy out of needing to

experience things like war on this planet.

So what can we do? Raise awareness about these types of stories from a place of peace and

new perspective. Focus on shifting our own thoughts, feelings and emotions from within

and work towards maintaining peace within ourselves and we give other permission to

and we can permeate that energy outwards. This has an incredible impact on the world

around us and yet still gives us the opportunity to do what we can to help create change. Raising

awareness from a peaceful place vs an angry one is immensely more powerful and works to

create more peace vs more anger.

We�re going through a transitionary time, we must remember this. Humanities challenges

and �dark knight of the soul� are playing out and it�s up to us to process it and

move through it in new ways.

The airfield was supposedly targeted after the US and their allies planed the Syrian

military for the chemical incident in Idlib. Up to 86 people, including 26 children, are

alleged to have been killed. Again, several Western states have immediately pinned the

blame on Assad�s forces, while Russia said Syrian jets bombed a warehouse where chemical

weapons were being produced.

In the midst of all this blame, we must remember that that�s what governments and their allies

do. From the opposite perspective, here�s a quote from Michel Chossudovsky, an award-winning

author, Professor of Economics (emeritus) at the University of Ottawa, to balance out

viewpoints.

�We are dealing with a criminal undertaking at a global level � and there is an ongoing

war, it is led by the United States, it may be carried out by a number of proxy countries,

which are obeying orders from Washington � The global war on terrorism is a US undertaking,

which is fake, it�s based on fake premises. It tells us that somehow America and the Western

world are going after a fictitious enemy, the Islamic state, when in fact the Islamic

state is fully supported and financed by the Western military alliance and America�s

allies in the Persian Gulf. � They say Muslims are terrorists, but it just so happens that

terrorists are Made in America. They�re not the product of Muslim society, and that

should be abundantly clear to everyone on this floor. � The global war on terrorism

It�s important to critically think about these issues, look at opinions as well as

documents and research to make our conclusions. We will continue to do that here as a conscious

news source covering unfolding stories like this.

The fact that, for example, Four Star General Wesley Clark, who was the Supreme Allied Commander

of Europe of NATO from 1997-2000, has spoken out about this subject saying that U.S. had

plans to invade countries in the Middle East, including Syria, for no justified reason at

all is telling enough for us to question the constant narrative of the mainstream media.

He offered the sentiments of some within the American military, that they have a �good

military� and that they can �take down governments.� He spoke of a memo that described

how the U.S. had �plans to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq,

and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and finishing off, Iran� (source).

Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton. Does It Really Matter?

What�s confusing here is that Trump was vilified by the media, and that he clearly

has a different view and stance than those of many who are in positions of great power.

He has been calling out the corporations that jeopardize our health, has made some intriguing

comments about 9/11 and more. That being said, some of his picks and his support for a strong,

beefed up military follows in the core tradition of those who held the presidency before him.

At the end of the day, let�s remember what President Woodrow Wilson told us:

Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture,

are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere

so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better

Welcome to our place here on Redang Island.

It is very hot, and believe it or not. Alma is sitting in front of the TV.

I can't hear the TV.

I turned down the volume because we are going to show our accommodation.

I think that she is a bit sunstroked.

So this is the living area, with a TV.

I am playing with a bottle.

Yeah it makes a terrible noise.

We have a desk where we edit films.

And under the TV is a mini bar.

Here is a toilet.

And over here is the hallway. Where we store some clothes.

This is the bathroom.

I like this bathroom.

I see Harry, hanging out with another mother by the pool.

The only bedroom.

We sleep in the bed with one child. Some nights Alma and some nights Harry.

And this is an extra child's bed that we have made.

We were given a baby cot but none of our children could sleep in it.

So we put two armchairs together and made this kids-bed.

It works well.

So this is our accommodation here at The Taaras but the best thing is not indoors, of course. It is outdoors.

Oh my, I sound like a travel agent.

The camera is calibrated and Alma is with us and she's got a sandwich.

It is afternoon now so there is quite a lot of people on the beach.

It's most busy during the afternoons.

It is fewer people during the morning.

And it's almost empty at 12 noon.

I think that I googled "The most beautiful place in Malaysia" and looked at photos online.

Yeah I think so too. We had decided to go to Malaysia and were eager visit Kuala Lumpur.

But we also wanted some beach life.

Yeah, we wanted to do a combo trip. City and beach. But we didn't know the exact beach destination.

This beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen.

So we can strongly recommend a trip to Redang Island.

Drones help scientists study Guatemalan volcanoes - Duration: 2:38.

My name is Dr Anna Liu, I'm a

volcanologist at the University of

Cambridge. Together with colleagues at

the University of Bristol I'm studying

Volcán de Fuego, an active volcano in

Guatemala. Because it erupts so

frequently, it's very difficult to get

close enough to take our measurements.

That's why we have designed special

unmanned aerial vehicles - UAVs that can

fly above the volcano. Our UAVs have to

fly distance of 8 kilometers and to a

height of more than three kilometers

above the launch site, overcoming many

engineering challenges. They carry

lightweight sensors to measure

temperature and humidity within the

volcanic clouds and cameras to take

visual and thermal images of eruptions

in real-time. Volcán de Fuego rises over

3700 meters

above sea level. The volcano is very

active. It has small explosions multiple

times every hour, and large eruptions

every three or four weeks. These large

eruptions release volcanic ash into the

atmosphere which is dangerous both for

local communities and for aviation.

We flew the UAVs a number of times over

several days, so we could observe and

measure rapid changes in the shape of

the summit crater, and in the style of

the explosions, in the run-up to a large

eruption. The red spots you can see in

the crater here are the active vents.

By using unmanned aircraft to study volcanoes we

can observe eruptions closer than ever

before, and take measurements that would

otherwise never have been possible.

Around 60,000 people are at risk from

eruptions at Fuego, and yet we still have

much to learn about what makes this

volcano erupt. In the next stage of the

project the UAVs will also carry sensors

to measure the volcanic gases being

released from the volcano.

By analysing the chemistry of

these gases and of lava and building 3d

models of the volcano's shape and how

this changes over time, we hope to

improve our understanding and what is

happening deep beneath the volcano,

improving our ability to forecast when

and how big the next eruption may be.

Once upon a time, toy companies would seemingly sell anything they could think of to kids,

regardless of whether it made any sense.

After enough kids were maimed or outright killed by stupid toys, though, the government

began regulating this stuff — but not before a number of insane products made it to market.

Here's a look at some of the most dangerous toys ever sold to the public.

Austin Magic Pistol

If you think it's a good idea to provide unstable explosives to small children, well, have we

got the toy for you!

Back in the 1940s, a toy gun called the Austin Magic Pistol was released.

The idea was to shoot ping pong balls.

But rather than using springs or something, the Austin Magic Pistol achieved this by using

calcium carbide, which would explode when water — or just plain spit — was added.

Instant fireball!

Oh, and the gun's breech was barely screwed on and would blow off, scorching the face

of the poor kid firing it with acetylene gas.

Needless to say, the toy didn't last long, and is now a collector's item.

Especially since so many of them simply exploded.

Whoops.

Moon Shoes

Trampolines are dangerous.

And even more so when they're built right into your shoes, as kids learned starting

in the 1950s.

The Space Shoes craze resulted in a slew of broken ankles, elbows, and other bones.

But that didn't stop Nickelodeon from bringing the redesigned, rebranded Moon Shoes back

in the 90s.

Because those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

One small step for man, one giant leap for emergency room procedures.

Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper

In 1978, Mattel released the Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper, which had an awesome spring-loaded

plastic missile kids could fire.

They don't make them like this anymore, and for good reason.

Unfortunately, a four-year-old toddler died after placing the nose of the toy into his

mouth and accidentally firing the missile down his throat.

The incident had one other notable side effect as well.

The original Boba Fett action figure, which was in still in development at the time, was

originally going to have a spring-loaded rocket you could fire from his jetpack.

This was quickly abandoned, but not until a few prototypes were made, which are now

among the most valuable collectible toys in the world.

Just… don't actually play with it.

Sky Dancers

Kids like dolls, and they also like helicopters, right?

So Galoob Toys married the two ideas together and created a series of dolls called Sky Dancers

in the late 1990s.

The dolls would fly, yes.

But they did so erratically, and — just like grapefruit juice — the Sky Dancers

usually wound up shooting into someone's unsuspecting eyes.

The toys were recalled after the company received over 150 reports of the dolls hitting people,

causing scratched corneas, as well as shattered teeth, a broken rib, and even a concussion.

Naturally, they're now back on the market.

The Gilbert Glass Blowing Kit for Boys

If you think your kid could do with a new hobby and you also need some new glassware

around the house, then go and find yourself the Gilbert Glass Blowing Kit right now.

This terrifying toy, which came out a century ago, was marketed as a necessary device to

help children learn a valuable skill.

What it actually taught them was arson.

The kit, which didn't come with any protective gear of any kind, encouraged children to use

their bare hands when working with glass at approximately 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

But hey, at least they learned the science of glass.

"it's a creative toy, you know, if you hold this up you all the colors of the rainbow.

It teaches em about light refraction see prisms and that stuff, yea yea."

The Gilbert Atomic Energy Lab

Speaking of the Gilbert company's totally safe, not at all horrific toys, in 1950, they

decided to one-up themselves with The Gilbert Atomic Energy Lab, which actually contained

real samples of uranium-238, which is radioactive, and which is used to make plutonium-239, the

main ingredient used in atomic weapons.

Of course, kids weren't putting together little Manhattan Projects in their garages with these

samples.

No, they were just getting cancer.

The toy was discontinued two years later.

That's right: it took two years.

CSI Fingerprint Analysis Kit

Back when CSI was one of the most popular shows on television, CBS decided to cash in

by making a toy crime scene kit for kids, who could then live out their dream of dusting

a murdered mall Santa for fingerprints.

Amazingly, though, this toy was even worse than it sounds, because the fingerprint powder

in the kit actually contained asbestos, widely known to be a cancer-causing material, in

a handy, easily inhaled form.

It took CBS 20 months of litigation before they settled a class action lawsuit and recalled

the toy.

And you thought Happy Fun Ball was dangerous...

Loss of balance or coordination"

Cabbage Patch Snacktime Doll

There was a simple idea behind the Cabbage Patch Snacktime Doll: make a doll that could

actually chew, so you could pretend to feed it stuff.

Unfortunately, programming for robot dolls wasn't so great in the 1980s, so once this

thing started chewing, it couldn't stop.

That's where this goes from adorable to horrible, because numerous incidents came out where

the doll would get a hold of a young girl's hair and chomp away until it pulled it right

out of her scalp.

Now where could Mattel have gotten the idea for this toy in the first place?

Oh yeah!

Magnetix Magnetic Building Sets

Science is fun.

Until it kills you.

That was the lesson parents learned in horrible fashion back in 2006, when the Consumer Product

Safety Commission issued the first of what would be multiple recalls of the magnetic

building kits issued by Magnetix.

Magnets, as you probably know, tend to attract each other, which, when swallowed, caused

a number of children to require emergency surgery to clear intestinal blockages.

Sounds like some kids didn't remember that age old proverb:

The United States has clarified that its conditions for dialogue with North Korea remain the same

-- the North has to denuclearize and abandon its weapons of mass destruction.

Asked whether talks could come if the North suspends its ballistic missile tests,... the

spokesperson for the State Department's Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Catina

Adams, said the situation in the North has to change first.

The response comes as Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told ABC recently that Washington

had been calling for a suspension of all missile launches and will only start dialogue with

Pyongyang once it does so.

I am going to show you how to decorate a hat for the Easter parade.

Buy a hat of your choice.

I bought a white braided hat.

Some hats already come with a ribbon.

In my case, there was a ribbon but I removed it

because I wanted to use another colour.

Start by placing a ribbon of a colour of your choice.

Glue it with hot glue.

Next, take artificial flowers that you cut at the base of the stem.

I chose yellow, purple and off-white pansies

to go nicely with the colour of ribbon.

Glue the flowers all around the hat or in a bunch if you prefer.

The Easter Parade is a tradition that began around 1870 in New York

but it was made even more famous following the musical "Easter Parade"

with Fred Astaire and Judy Garland.

Sewol-ho ferry returns to land after 1,091 days - Duration: 1:30.

Nearly three years after the Sewol-ho ferry sank off the southwest coast of South Korea,

the vessel has finally been moved to land.

A search inside the ship is likely to take place next week.

Kim Mok-yeon has the latest.

At around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the Sewol-ho salvage team successfully completed the final

stages of securing the ferry on land.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries declared the salvage operation complete -- with a week

to go until the tragedy's third anniversary.

The first salvage efforts began 2015, and the latest and final ones started 20 days

ago.

The ministry initially planned to move the ship so it would be parallel to the sea, but

decided to leave it where it is due to concerns about its structural integrity.

Engineers have removed the modular transporters that were used to move the vessel onto the

dock from the ship that brought it into port.

Now they'll weld support brackets onto the lifting beams that were used to raise the

vessel to the surface.

In the upcoming week, the salvage team will clean the ferry's exterior and carry out safety

checks of the interior by measuring the level of oxygens and harmful gases inside.

A search for the bodies of the missing 9 passengers is expected to begin as soon as next Monday,

a day after the anniversary of the sinking on April 16th.

The government says it will announce later in the week its plans for how the search will

be conducted.

Relatives of the missing have asked that more agencies join the effort, including the National

Forensic Service and the Coast Guard.

China seems to be upping pressure on N. Korea following U.S.-China summit - Duration: 2:26.

Has China changed its stance on its traditional ally North Korea?

Beijing has agreed to slap stronger UN sanctions on the North if it carries out a widely expected

provocation and it had a rather restrained response to Washington's decision to send

back its USS Carl Vinson strike group to the Korean peninsula.

Connie Kim reports.

Chinese President Xi Jinping did not display a change of stance on dealing with North Korea

following a summit with U.S. President Donald Trump last week, but Beijing seems to be upping

more pressure on the North after seeing Washington's firm stance against Pyongyang's nuclear threats.

Following the U.S.-China summit,...

China's top nuclear envoy Wu Dawei quickly made a trip to South Korea to hold talks with

his South Korean counterpart Kim Hong-kyun on Monday where the two agreed for stronger

measures against North Korea if North Korea conducts another nuclear test.

"The two sides agreed to additional and stronger UN Security Council resolutions if the North

carries out a strategic provocation such as a nuclear test or an intercontinental ballistic

missile launch despite warnings from the international community."

China, a traditional ally of North Korea, had previously been reluctant to corner Pyongyang

too much.

But in what could be seen as a possible change on China's North Korea policy, Beijing's foreign

ministry released a rather refrained quote to Washington's uncommon decision to send

back its USS Carl Vinson strike group near the Korean peninsula, in contrast to widely

expected strong opposition comments.

China's recent moves seem to reflect U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's statement

in an interview with CBS following Trump and Xi's summit,... that Beijing is beginning

to recognize that North Korea presents a threat to even China's interest.

While there are speculations Beijing may have decided to take on a hardline policy against

the regime,... some North Korea watchers in Seoul say this is part of China's calculated

moves.

"It seems like China's North Korea policy changed, but Beijing has the habit of pushing

North Korea away whenever tensions rise on the Korean peninsula and pull Pyongyang back

when tensions die down."

Experts who agree with such view,... say China is likely to display its original stance when

Washington's strategic assets pull out from the Korean peninsula.

Worst Travel Day EVER! Kathmandu, Nepal to Delhi, India - Duration: 7:36.

Good morning.

Good morning.

Morning.

So it is another travel day.

Our time in Kathmandu is up.

And next up we're off to India to rendezvous with Sam's parents.

Yeah, my parents are going to be joining us and we're going to be traveling for close

to a month in India.

It is going to be an amazing adventure.

I mean it is kind of sad that our time in Nepal went by so fast but I just feel like

our travels have just been going so quickly this past year.

I don't know what it is.

It feels like we just arrive and then we're leaving.

We're leaving.

But anyways yeah we have a busy schedule in India and we'll tell you more about that soon.

So let's go check in.

This is Audrey ranting...

Staff didn't think our e-visa was a real visa

They decided to check in other passengers instead

so we waited...a long time

Then we got taken to the back office

We had to go online and prove we were granted entry

it was a stressful 1+ hour

Well I would say this has been a very stressful morning.

We were able to make it through but for some reason our visa was a huge problem and we

were there probably for an hour.

I thought they were not going to let us go through security or get on the plane.

But anyways, that is sorted.

Now our flight has been delayed again.

It had already been delayed once before.

And the power has also gone out in the airport.

So it could be a long day.

How are you feeling?

At the moment.

I'm still frazzled about the India situation because yeah.

Um, we have something called an e-visa.

Yeah.

It is where you apply online um you're approved and then you're given this form to print out.

And I guess the people working here have never seen that before.

And so they weren't accepting it.

And so luckily someone had the idea when we went to the back office to actually check

it out.

Like to check it out to look it up online.

Look it up online and then it was confirmed yes we are allowed to go.

But yeah, it looked like we were going to be not let on that plane.

And like it would be really frustrating just the two of us traveling but the fact we are

meeting up with my parents and we've arranged this trip like months in advance and we've

already booked train tickets and hotels.

Just like all of these thoughts were racing through my head.

Like oh my gosh we're not going to be there to meet them.

You know it was just awful.

I'm just absolutely frazzled right now.

I'm trying to calm down but this has not been a great day.

Yeah.

Now it is just a waiting game.

We have to see when our plane is actually arriving.

We're arriving a day before them so I don't care so much that our flight is delayed just

as long as we get on that flight and as long as we make it to Delhi today it'll be a good

day.

Yeah.

Frisking of person and checking of hand baggage is mandatory for all passengers.

We are experienced that.

Check.

The food is here.

I didn't think they were going to feed us because it is a very short flight but I'm

so hungry.

Wonderful surprise.

Show us what we've got.

I ordered the vegetarian option.

I'm not really sure.

Yeah, same here.

Oh, that looks good.

Looks like dal bhat.

And this is a I forget the name but this is a popular Indian dessert that I've had before.

It is kind of like soaked in syrup.

Food.

We took so long going through immigration that the luggage belt is empty.

It is turned off.

Let's hope we can find our bags.

If you can get a proper visa as opposed to an e-tourist visa.

Oh my gosh.

Do it!

I think we are the last people to pick up luggage.

Mine is there.

Da dah da.

Beep.

Well this is pretty bad but we didn't even finish the vlog.

It has been that stressful of a day.

So I feel like we need to rewind.

Immigration.

Oh right.

So the issue at immigration once we got to India to Delhi you know we handed in our e-visa

that was totally fine but the issue was that there were hardly any officials working there.

And there was a huge line and then a whole.

It took two hours right?

Yeah, and like a whole bunch of the people who were working there just decided to go

on break at the same time and they were like chit-chatting with their friends in front

of us while we're like just standing there.

Let us through.

Yeah but as bad as that was the real problem right now is that there is a cash crisis in

India.

The government removed the 500 and 1000 Rupee notes but they haven't quite replaced them

replenished it with these new denominations.

And so like there is just these massive lines at ATMs and a lot of ATMs literally just have

no cash in them.

Yeah.

So we're finding that out now that we're in the city and we hit up like eight or nine

tonight and only one of them worked and we could only take out the equivalent of a $150

US dollars.

So tomorrow the mission begins again as we try to find some cash.

Yes, so this is probably one of the worst travel days in a while.

In between all the sightseeing if we do much sightseeing we're basically going to be hitting

up banks and trying to like get as much cash to store so we have money to travel with.

Because I mean we use credit cards for hotels and restaurants but you still need money.

Well hopefully we can.

Yeah, we'll find out soon.

So yeah, that has been our first day in Delhi and tomorrow Sam's parents arrive.

Woo hoo!

It should be interesting.

Yeah, so sorry this video has been really ranty and whiny.

It feels like we've just been complaining all day long.

That has been us today.

Nah travel.

Well, it was a tough day.
