Why Pennywise From It Looks So Familiar - Duration: 4:54.

Bill Skarsgård isn't a household name yet, but give it time: he's the younger brother

of The Legend of Tarzan star Alexander Skarsgård and son of veteran actor Stellan Skarsgård,

and this emerging star is set to make a name for himself as the terrifying Pennywise in

the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Stephen King's classic novel It.

The demonic clown was brilliantly played by Tim Curry in the 1990 TV miniseries version

of the book, so Skarsgård has some big clown shoes to fill — but he also has more acting

experience than you might think.

Here are a few projects you may have seen him in:

Arn: The Kingdom at Road's End

Arn: The Knight Templar and Arn: The Kingdom at Road's End were combined into one epic

cut for international release in 2010, though in Sweden they were released as two separate

films based on fictional hero Arn Magnusson.

Bill's father Stellan played Arn's uncle Birger and reprised the role for the sequel, bringing

his son Bill in to play Erik, son of the King, played by Bill's older brother Gustaf.

The Skarsgård-filled epic two-parter is the most expensive Swedish film of all time, costing

around thirty million dollars.

Kenny Begins

Skarsgård went from a deadly serious historical epic to a completely ridiculous sci-fi comedy

in 2009's Kenny Begins, a feature length prequel to Swedish TV series Kenny Starfighter.

Kenny is a hopeless "Galaxy Hero" who crash lands on Earth and meets Skarsgård's Pontus,

an equally unfortunate 15-year-old with terrible eyesight and a problem with local bullies.

Simple Simon

Skarsgård's next performance not only impressed domestic critics, it also won plenty of praise

Stateside.

The Hollywood Reporter said 2010's Simple Simon "performs the neat trick of finding

laughs and wisdom about a central character who suffers from Asperger's syndrome, yet

does so without trivializing the serious nature of the affliction," and called Skarsgård's

performance "superb."

Behind Blue Skies

While The Hollywood Reporter was impressed by Simple Simon, their review of the second

Bill Skarsgård film to come out in 2010, the '70s satire Behind Blue Skies, wasn't

quite as kind.

"Satirical pokes at Swedish society at the time are unlikely to strike too many chords

overseas.

While there are some appealing performances, the picture seems bound for a cloudy time

beyond home territory."

Still, it wasn't all bad.

Singling Skarsgård out to praise his performance as Martin, a troubled boy with an abusive

father, Variety argued that he "makes the most of a real star turn" in this "joyously

clever take on the coming-of-age story."

Anna Karenina

Making his English-language debut, Skarsgård appeared in a minor supporting role in the

2012 British historical romance Anna Karenina, an adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's classic novel

of the same name.

Unfortunately for Skarsgård, the project he chose as his maiden voyage into English

cinema was a story that for years had been deemed impossible to successfully adapt due

to the sprawling nature of the source material.

Reviews were mixed, and the box office results were lukewarm.

Hemlock Grove

Netflix original series Hemlock Grove got off to a great start in 2013, pulling in more

viewers over its release weekend than House of Cards.

Interest in the Eli Roth werewolf thriller soon began to wane, however, and Netflix announced

that the third season would be the its last.

Skarsgård played sulky vampire-like creature Roman Godfrey, who uses his supernatural powers

to get what he wants …

"Shut up and kiss me."

Allegiant

Dystopian teen franchises became big business in Hollywood after The Hunger Games, but they

can't all be blockbusters.

Case in point: The Divergent series, which suffered diminishing returns at the box office

and progressively worse reviews over the course of its first three installments, bottoming

out with 2016's Allegiant.

It was all a learning experience for Skarsgård, who played Matthew, a scientist sympathetic

to the protagonists' cause.

If the franchise failed to live up to expectations, the second-generation star said he used it

as an example of a lesson he'd taken from his father.

"Even if it was the worst, most horrendous production and the movie turned out garbage,

whatever it is, the experience was something that he learned from and he wouldn't want

to live without."

Atomic Blonde

Before terrorizing the kids of Derry, Maine in It, Skarsgård appeared in what he described

as a "small but fun part playing a German punk" in Atomic Blonde, the feature length

adaptation of Antony Johnston's Cold War-set spy thriller graphic novel The Coldest City

starring Charlize Theron.

Atomic Blonde earned largely positive reviews from critics, and it's got franchise potential:

a prequel to The Coldest City entitled The Coldest Winter was published in 2016.

Whether Skarsgård will return remains to be seen.

Either way, expect the brooding Swede to pop up with increasing regularity in Hollywood

over the next few years.

GEA - L0 - Facts - Duration: 1:35.

In this slide we have two very important graphs let's start on the left here

We have the evolution of world exports and world GDP after world war two you can see that both

series grew over time

World GDP has grown by a factor of eight in the last 60 years

This is a remarkable fact; this kind of growth is unprecedented

if we think about the history of mankind which has seen very slow growth of GDP or

Output up to be eighteen hundreds more or less

But trade even outpaced this extraordinary growth the level of exports has grown by a factor of Roughly

32 over the same period Of time

In this class we will try to understand why nations trade and try to get a sense of what's behind

these large increase

The Graph on the right illustrates a positive correlation

Between the level of GDP per Capita which is taken in logs and the importance of trade

measured by the Ratio between

Impulse plus exports and gross domestic product each point in the graph is a

Country in the world for which we have data on GDP and trade

We see that as we move to the right and up so as we consider countries that are

Getting richer in terms of GDP

These countries tend to trade more

Zelda Theory: Gerudo Origins in Breath of the Wild? - Duration: 6:28.

Within Breath of the WIld and the Zelda series as a whole, you encounter this amazonian desert tribe known as the Gerudo.

Little is known about them, but from the latest game in the series we know something more. But before we get to that, let's start from the beginning

The Gerudo tribe first appeared in Ocarina of Time. There they were known as merely a band of thieves with Ganondorf as their leader. Later in the game it is discovered that they have an entire culture behind them.

Now for some reason the Gerudo are an all female tribe. And as such to keep the population around, members of the tribe travel from the desert in search of husbands. A point of reference that later games would expand on.

Now within Ocarina of Time it is said that every 100 years a Gerudo male would be born to the tribe. And within the confines of this particular

game that would be Ganondorf. But a question arises, why does this happen to only the Gerudo? And in extension, how did the tribe originate?

Well going back in the timeline we get some kind of hint towards the origins of the Gerudo. And that rests on the Gerudo dragonfly. Which in the game Skyward Sword acts as a bit of a collection.

Really you don't get much information besides that. Well there are some theories that Groose is actually a forerunner to the Gerudo tribe. Which may or may not be the case, there really isn't much evidence to support it.

But regardless of that there is one theory that may seem possible. At the end of skyward sword many of skylofts inhabitants went to surface to presumably build the future Hyrule.

With that in mind, it is a safe bet to make that a population of skyloftians made their way to the Lanayru desert for some reason.

And this is where we come full circle back to Breath of the Wild. Now the Gerudo here are 8 feet tall this time, unlike the skyloftians, (definitely waifu material right here)

But anyways in the throne room where you find Riju and such. There are some Gerudo engravings. When translated they say

"Gerudo, a resilient desert flower facing the sun's gaze, Gerudo grows brilliant while others fade." The other two translations say something similar to this end, but what is significant in this translation is the phrase "desert flower."

Almost as if the tribe refers itself as a flower surviving in the desert. Now perhaps this is symbolic, that in the distant past

many people tried to settle in the desert. But out of all the many inhabitants only one tribe could survive and that was the Gerudo.

Other theories about the tribe include the possibility that the Gerudo may have been named after a flower. Which I am not sure that is the case, if there was a flower

named after the Gerudo you would think this game would show it off. Considering that breath of the wild hosts many different species of flora after all.

So with all the information we have so far, how can we connect the dots? What made the Gerudo to the gigantic amazonian warriors we see in Breath of the Wild? Well we have some

idea. Going back to Skyward Sword at the beginning of the timeline, we saw the migration of people going to the surface below. In time the inhabitants formed the kingdom of Hyrule.

There is a possibility that sometime during or after this event, a similar expedition may have transpired in the Gerudo desert. That many people tried to settle in the desert.

Now why would they do that? Well during skyward sword there was a heck of allot of ancient technology layng about. Which may be considered valuable

And if we take the Gerudo translations at face value, it may have referenced a unique event. That of all different peoples who tried to settle in the desert, only the Gerudo managed to survive. Remember the phrase.

"Gerudo, a resilient desert flower facing the sun's gaze, Gerudo grows brilliant while others fade."

It may be a possibility that the Gerudo were the only tribe that managed to survive in the desert. And that perhaps over time, and I am talking thousands years here.

That the original population of the Gerudo slowly but surely evolved into the tall warriors we see now. That they morphed due to the environment.

Now that may seem like a leap in logic there, I mean evolution in Zelda? But we do see something similar with the Zoras. I mean first they were the paraella,

then they evolved into Zora, and then they turned into, whatever happened here.

But considering this is all the information we have currently about the origin of the Gerudo, unless we are mistaken. There really isn't much else to go on. But to leave on a special note, there is a neat reference within Breath of the Wild.

Riju the Gerudo chieftain when you talk to her is sitting in a unique position. With her fist clenched to her chin.

Now within Twilight Princess when you meet Ganondorf, he too is sitting in a similar position. Now was this a deliberate reference? Maybe, maybe not.

Now ever since we pointed this out over in Twitter, we got some interesting questions spinning about. One that really caught our attention is whether or not Riju is related to Ganondorf. At first we kind of glanced over this.

But actually it is quite possible. It is stated after all that Riju is descended from a line of Gerudo chieftains. And since Ganondorf was a leader of the

Gerudo in the past, it may be possible that Riju is actually descended from Ganondorf. Which again may be a neat throwback.

So what do you guys think? Where the gerudo descended from a population of Hylians that settled in the desert. And for some reason, they morphed into the Gerudo?

Did timeshift radiation or something caused this? Is Riju descended from Ganondorf? Who knows, let us know.

So what is next for the channel? Well ever since I uploaded the Fierce Deity theory, I have been meaning to head a little bit deeper when it comes towards the philosophy of Majora's Mask.

But we will talk about that theory next time. Special thanks goes to our patreon producers for helping put this video together. Well guys we have to be heading out now, have a great and wonderful rest of the day or night and take care.

Security and Horsepower with App Service: The New Isolated Offering - Duration: 11:43.

[MUSIC]

Hey I'm Scott and it's Azure Friday.

We're here with Stefan Schackow talking about App Services.

It's my favorite feature.

>> [CROSSTALK] >> I got like 21 of them now.

All kinds of different live sites,

running up in Azure in App Services.

What are we changing?

>> So what are we changing?

We're introducing a new SKU, a new option for

running your apps on App Service.

It's called the isolated SKU and

it is probably somewhat jokingly one of the first SKU names we

have that actually describes what it does.

>> [LAUGH] >> So

as you can sort of imagine, it says that it's isolated.

It's all about creating an app, or multiple apps on our service

and running them in a locked-down, isolated manner.

So that the outside world can't see them, know about them,

they can't get to them, so it's completely isolated.

But you get all the goodness of Azure App Service.

So like perfect example, right, you have maybe a workload today,

it's an on-premises line of business app,

you've been scratching your head.

You're like how do I get this stuff up into the cloud?

So the whole point behind the isolated SKU is, guess what,

that's a kind of workload you don't want the outside

world to ever see or know about.

But you'd like to be able to do things like auto scale and

slots and everything else we have on App Service.

What you do is, you go deploy it using our isolated SKU

inside of a virtual network that you built out inside of Azure.

So now you got the best of both worlds.

It's completely internal, hidden from the world.

You, only you and your company, can actually see it and use it.

So the outside world can't get to it.

But everything that you're accustomed to

using on App Service is still there and available to you.

>> So forgive my ignorance but

was it not possible before to make a virtual network and

make it secret and make it so you can VPN into it?

>> So you've been able to, obviously for years in Azure,

you can set up a VNet,

put infrastructure-as-a-service in there.

That absolutely all works, all there today.

And even us on the App Service,

we've had a precursor called App Service Environments that gave

you sort of the first generation of that.

>> But those were big, and they took 20 minutes to fire up, and

they cost a lot of money.

>> Yeah, so the isolated SKU, think of it this way,

it's taken all of the refinements, the feedback, and

put it all into our product.

Made it better, made it easier, and more approachable.

And so now sort of the second generation of it is now what's

called the isolated SKU.

And you'll see here in a little bit,

I think it flows a lot more naturally and

works the way you would sort of expect App Service to work.

>> Would it be appropriate for smaller businesses, like myself?

Like I've got a couple of smalls, but

in an App Service Environment, I'm not a big business.

>> Yeah, so- >> Not even a medium business.

>> Correct, so it's like admittedly, isolated SKU,

it tends to be driven, again, as the name isolated implies.

It's driven by the fact they your business, your company,

you have an overriding reason to run things maybe in

a highly PCI compliant environment.

>> Case in point, banking, financials,

things like that where you just have stricter requirements.

And so you have to have no proverbial error gaps,

as it were, in terms of network access to your app.

>> Wow.

>> Certainly small, medium business you can go run on it.

There is and you'll see it a little bit here.

One thing you can do is we

can give you much higher scaling limits.

So that is an option, but let's face it.

At the end of the day,

if I'm running like a smaller storefront blog marketing site,

definitely public App Service.

That's still where you want to be.

>> That makes sense, okay.

But if I am gonna be doing my expense reporting system,

my HR system, this is perfect.

>> It's perfect, another perfect example is, a lot of us, right,

probably we've all got IRAs, 401Ks, you name it.

The reason why I bring that up is those are all examples of

sites that they have sensitive data,

they need to be accessible to the outside world, right?

Because you and I, we need to fire it up on our mobile device.

>> Right. >> But at the same time,

I don't want the apps that are running there to just be wide

open to the Internet.

So another thing you can do for

example with the isolated SKU, is you can deploy an App Service

you app's hidden from the outside world.

You can frontend it with a service or a firewall or

web application firewalls, pick your device or service.

That's what the outside world will actually see and access,

but your actual app is locked down and

sort of hidden behind this load.

>> That's really interesting,

I've got my blood sugar application,

right now sitting alongside Baby Smash, my video game.

They're all just kind of hanging out together on the same

App Service.

I could make my blood sugar,

my personal health information, isolated.

>> Yes, absolutely.

>> Very cool, let's see a demo.

Okay, so what we've got showing here is,

I'm already logged into the portal.

I've got a resource group with an app and

App Service Environment already set up.

So let's jump in here.

This is the actual app itself.

A couple of things to note is, you can see, hey,

it's running in an App Service plan [CROSSTALK]-

>> Let me guess,

that actually is a capital letter I,

not obvious, [CROSSTALK] >> We'll take the feedback and

change the font to plural.

>> Yeah,

[LAUGH] make an I with a- >> Yes.

>> I know s1 is standard and f1 is freeze, so

then i1 is isolated.

>> i1 is isolated, yes, it is.

Another thing to note, right,

the URL, nice thing when you're running in isolated.

You also are effectively running in your own isolated DNS zone.

Because it's your virtual network.

We don't really care what the domain suffixes are, and so

that's nice, because it means that you can, for

example, the app itself can use names.

Example, if you were to go out and

create an app today on App Service and call it example.

Good luck, it was probably taken about five milliseconds after

the service went live.

>> So you're not thinking about Azurewebsite.net?

>> Exactly, exactly,

you're using the custom domain you care about.

So let's take a closer look at that, right,

there's an App Service plan.

If I jump in here, to the blade specifically for

the App Service plan, we'll see a couple of things.

I'm running in West US 2.

Again, I'm running isolated.

And if I jump in here to the scale-up options,

now you can see what's actually available.

And this is the crux of what is the isolated offering.

So, a couple of things to point out, right?

It runs on a much more powerful tier of compute horsepower.

So again, folks in the IS world have been able to enjoy the DB2

series for a while.

We've finally been able to bring it here to App Service.

>> Wow. >> So you get a lot more memory

per SKU and then also,

even though the cores look sort of similar.

It's like hey, 1, 2, 4 Core.

I got that today on standard but

remember those cores, ACU for ACU, are more than twice as

powerful as what we've got running in App Service today.

Everything else here we've been talking about,

you run inside a virtual network,1 TB of storage.

So that's a pretty honking chunk of storage for App Service.

It's way higher than the normal,

I think it's like 50 gigs what you get in standard.

But again, because you're sort of in your own little world,

we can give you a lot more.

And then last but not least, right, those hundred instances

that's part of thing about isolation is that literally this

is a crunch-downed version of App Services.

Hey, this is yours, it goes in your virtual network.

And that means we can do crazy things like scale that sucker

out to a much broader degree than sorta what's possible if

you're running a basic or

standard on the regular App Service.

>> That gets me thinking about that gradient of all

the different choices from Azure Stack

to App Service Environments, but this is I just clicked that.

It's actually very reasonably priced for

a medium-sized business.

I've got SSDs and 100 instances.

I could potentially, depending on the size of my company,

run all my internal stuff on that and have room to spare.

It's a pretty beefy machine.

>> Yeah and you bring up a very good point which is for

isolated, definitely, we expect for a lot of folks the model

isn't gonna be you run one app and isolate it and you're done.

>> No. >> You figure, look,

you've got a whole suite of apps, you're gonna run 1,050,

100 apps in an isolated SKU.

You got enough horsepower and so between the horsepower and

the number of instances you can run like,

think of it like your own miniature IT department or

your own miniature web posting service inside your company.

>> Your own miniature web hosting service.

Now does that mean because it is App Service,

which I am a huge fan of, I could still do my git pushes,

they're just to internalize- >> You know,

funny that you should bring that up, I'll tell you what.

Let's hop in here to a,

this is a virtual machine that I am running inside of the small

virtual network as my isolated app.

And first we'll pull up here,

we'll just go to a example here azurefriday.net.

Hello world,

wow that's really exciting, there's that URL again.

So now what I did real quickly is I threw

visual studio code onto the machine here.

>> Mm-hm.

>> So we'll say hello world, hello Scott.

We'll go out and save that.

>> Okay.

>> And then I already set up git local git here on my VM.

>> Mm-hm.

>> So we'll do a live.

>> Git commit with a t.

>> Push thank you that's always good.

And then we'll go get push Azure master and so

literally I'm on this VM.

I already set up this app ahead of time so that it's connected

to the local get functionality on my app, running in isolated

so I made that change, we pop back here, I hit refresh.

Boom, there it is.

>> Nice and I noticed when you did that push it was subtle, but

people who are watching would've seen that the SCM URL,

that kudu, K-U-D-U, the kudu URL, also that same machine.

Because it is App Service, it's just isolated.

>> Yes, exactly.

And if we pop back over here, pop back into the main portal.

Take a look at deployment options for the app and you'll

actually see from when I was playing around with it earlier.

And then also there it is.

There's, there's the push we did live.

So again, it's a very quick example but very powerful.

Which the whole point is people get familiar with App Service.

They're really happy with it.

They're running it live on the Internet.

But then invariably, like you said,

there's sort of a tier of apps.

I feel a little nervous about just hanging

out there live on the Internet.

So that's the whole point of the isolated SKU.

You get to use what's in App Service,

but you get to put it in that lockdown environment where you

have the security you're looking for.

So maybe I, at the very beginning of this segment,

I may have disparaged App Service Environment a little bit

because it seemed like a big deal.

It seemed like when I made an App Service Environment

it was like, now I've graduated into more money.

I've graduated from

a small company to a medium-sized company.

Help me understand better when I would use regular vanilla

App Service where an App Service Environment fits and

we're isolating fits.

>> Well, so the first thing to make that easier to understand

is underneath the hood the implementation details

are the isolated queue.

It's basically a second generation of

App Service Environments underneath the hood.

But what we've done is we've stripped away all of

the complexity.

Right so again, we heard the feedback I feel it first hand

because, again, I talk to customers,

they know my email address they complain to me,

that kind of feedback loop.

So the whole point is just to say, look,

people know an app, they know an App Service plan,

they know how to use it on App Service.

Can we deliver an offering that works the same way so that you

don't have to worry about grungy underneath-the-hood details.

So that's the thing.

The isolated SKU, if you were to peel back the covers and

look at the engine underneath the hood,

basically it's like the App Service Environment V2,

second generation.

But you, like what I just showed you,

you don't have to deal with that or worry about that.

So, that's the first thing right,

the two things are collapsed together.

Now, the continuum, again, perfectly great question.

Let's say I'm a small company and again,

I have my marketing site right.

There it's like I want that on the regular App Service.

It makes sense, it's easily accessible, things like that.

But maybe I'm doing business, say in the financial space.

Again, PCI's is the perfect example where I know I'm

gonna get those bad orders coming in.

There's gonna go through the 400 item checklist.

And they're gonna be like, I don't care how good you are.

Your apps gotta be all secured and locked down.

>> You've done that checklist for me.

>> Exactly, you deploy and to isolate it.

It's like there you go, checklist is done.

>> Very cool. Is this available now?

>> By the time this airs, yes.

It will be available now.

And actually, again, you're seeing the portal live.

So it's already there and up and running.

>> Very cool.

All right, I'm learning all kinds of things about isolated

App Services, here on Azure Friday.

Why does the Periodic Table look like that? - Duration: 6:59.

Hey Crazies. Ready for some more quantum mechanics?

Yeah, me neither. But I'm crazy, so I'm going do it anyway.

In the previous video, I mentioned the periodic table a few times and said that quantum mechanics

perfectly predicts it. This, of course, left Borg972, Blazej Michalik,

and others wondering, you know: How's it do that?

Well… Samarth Sai was asking about this thing.

That's the hydrogen atom's wave-function and…

…before we can understand the periodic table… …we need to have some idea of what wave-functions say.

YOU CAN HANDLE THIS… I PROMISE!

What's a wave-function? Yeah, that seems like a decent place to start.

A Wave-Function is just a mathematical representation… of a particle.

It contains everything you can possibly know about a particle's properties.

Yes, there is only (finger) one single wave-function for a particle in given state.

All three of these graphs from the previous video are found using the same wave-function,

just written in terms of different measurements.

In fact, you can write that same wave-function in terms of whatever measurement you want

to make a prediction about. All you need is a Fourier Transform.

They're a total pain in the butt, but they work.

Anyway! As you can see, inside of an atom, position

isn't very useful. There are a lot of possible locations for

the electron. If you want useful information, then it's

best to stick to definite measurements like energy.

We call those the "stationary states" of the particle because they're stable and

steady. But those contain more information than just

energy. Since a particle's Energy and part of its

angular momentum are definite at the same time, they can be measured at the same time.

That means the same stationary states work for both.

It's super convenient!

Which brings me to something Jade from Up & Atom and Josh Webb were asking about.

What's the deal with orbitals? Orbitals are, well, they're very poorly

named. Yes, the electrons inside atoms are moving.

They have both linear momentum and angular momentum but that doesn't mean they're

orbiting. If they were, those orbits would collapse.

Remember, electrons don't obey the rules we're used to.

You must unlearn what you have learned. Just think of orbitals as subdivisions of

an energy level. The size of a city block can determine how

many subdivisions it will have. A small block might have one subdivision where

as a large block might have four. The same thing happens in atoms, but it depends

on how much energy is available.

Like usual, let's number the energy levels: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.

Sometimes energy levels are called "shells," so these are Shell numbers.

Those numbers also tell us how many orbital types there are.

Shell number 1 contains 1 orbital type, but shell number 4 contains 4 different types.

You can label these types with another number based on angular momentum or with a letter

for historical reasons we won't go into. Each of those types is then subdivided into

a number of orbitals based on how the angular momentum is tilted.

And before someone comments "You forgot to mention the shapes!"

You know who you are, Ben! Yes, different orbitals have different shapes

and orientations, but that doesn't really matter until atoms start bonding to each other.

Forget about that for right now. All that matters today is how many orbitals

there are in a shell. That's what tells us how much room the shell

has for electrons, which is why different rows on the periodic table have different

numbers of elements.

But isn't each of these sections twice as big as it should be?

Yeah… that's where spin comes in. Particles seem to have a little more angular

momentum than they should. Just a smidge, but it's measurably there.

When we were trying to name it, of course we resorted to an analogy.

The Earth has orbital angular momentum because it orbits the Sun. But it also rotates, so

it has a separate spin angular momentum. So electrons are spinning inside atoms as

they orbit? No… No, they don't do anything like that.

Electrons do not orbit. Electrons do not spin. We know not where they're going. We know

not where they've been.

In quantum mechanics, the term "angular momentum" implies very little about motion,

so I'm just going to keep the word "spin" in quotes from now on.

Whatever "spin" is, it's an intrinsic property of a particle. It can't ever change.

Electrons, protons, and neutrons are all Spin 1/2 Particles,

meaning their angular momentum is always off by half a Planck constant either one way

or the other depending on orientation. Why is this important?

Oh, right, right. Any particle with one of these spins is called

a fermion, named after the epic historical physicist Enrico Fermi who you might remember

from the orders of magnitude video. Fermions have a problem. They don't get

along very well. You can't ever have two in exactly the same

state at exactly the same time.

You can only have two in each orbital, which forces some of the electrons into higher

energy states. Shouldn't that be one electron per orbital?

Oh no, my friend. Two. Like I just said:

You can't ever have two in exactly the same state at exactly the same time.

That means if at least one of the quantum numbers is different, it's totally fine.

A specific orbital is labeled with 3 of those numbers.

Spin is also a quantum number and the spin orientation another.

Even though these two electrons are in the exact same orbital, their spins are opposite,

so it's allowed.

Those two spin states are the reason the sections of the periodic table are twice as big as

the number of orbitals. s-orbitals can hold 2, p-orbitals can hold

6, d-orbitals can hold 10, f-orbitals can hold 14, and so on.

However, you've probably noticed row width doesn't grow for every row of the table.

That's because energy shells don't have clear boundaries.

They're not separate things like in a Russian nesting doll.

They overlap a little, so the orbitals inside them don't get filled in the order you'd

expect. Orbitals are filled from lower to higher energy,

which isn't necessarily in shell-number order.

Just like with anything real, it's complicated. Luckily, as atoms get bigger, the types of

orbitals stay the same. It's only the energies that change

and, since electrons are the foundation of chemistry, the repeating patterns will group

similar chemical elements into columns. It doesn't have to be rectangular though.

It could just as easily be circular as long as the groups line up.

Rectangles are just easier to read. So, what shape do you think the Periodic Table

should be? Let me know down in the comments and I'll

read them… periodically. Thanks for liking and sharing this video.

Don't forget to subscribe if you'd like to keep up with us.

And until next time, remember, it's OK to be a little crazy.

The featured comment comes from Raju who pointed out the concept of atoms was being discussed

in India before Ancient Greece. This is technically true. I admit it was a

bit euro-centric of me, but the further back in time you look the more religious and the

less scientific those discussions were. It's difficult to know where to draw the

line.

HOW TO STAY KIND AND NOT LOSE FAITH IN HUMANITY - Duration: 5:04.

ooh sorry I lost my voice yesterday huh

Hello world and welcome to the right side:)

Sometimes I feel that I'm losing hope

Sometimes I feel that our human race ruins

all the great things that this world has given to us

It's not easy to stay kind in the world when there are so many

awful, cruel things going on.

Unfortunately I can give you a step-by-step plan how to stay kind

because kindness is a choice and you decide whether you want to be kind or not.

If decided to be kind which is a great choice by the way

Today I want to talk with you about

how I'm saving this feeling of kindness in my heart

And how I am helping myself not loose faith.

Here goes 4 advices on what helps meet to stay kind in this world

Kindness is a thing that could possibly exist only in the

combination with other feelings. Bright feelings of course.

So let me ask you something?

Do u want to be happy?

Then you have to be kind coz angry people are not happy at all.

They're too passionate about their anger. It takes all of their energy, time and

It cuts away all the other great things that they could possibly feel in their soul

Happiness and kindness are strong feelings.

Angriness on the other side is also a really strong feeling

So you either can be covered with great kind feelings

which will lead you to your happiness.

Surround yourself with angriness which will destroy everything good that you've in ur soul

and probably won't bring you any happiness

Next thing that I wanted to say. Always remember that life is boomerang.

You can say that you don't believe in it

but there are many evidences of why is it so.

If you don't want to believe in it, then don't

But just remember me you making bad things towards other people

then it's going to come back to you and if not to you then

to members of your family, to your children. Because this is life

This is the world balance. There's gonna be this day

when u'll face the consequences of your actions and just

in case. Just to not be screwed up!

Don't do bad things towards other people. Who knows how it's going come back to you

Advice number 3. Every time when I'm starting to lose faith in this world

When I'm starting to think that there is nothing good going on right now

I am trying to search for a good news and for a kind and funny TV shows

For what? To brighten my day, to make myself laugh and to put myself into a good mood

And this what makes me feel better.

As far as for the good news. I just love to see how kind

behavior can save someone's day, can save someone's life

This makes me feel so proud for our human society.

This makes me feel so happy

Aggression and anger only ruin everything that someone else has built

And the last advice that I want to give to you is

find something good to believe in.

and never stop doing it. If you remember the

heroes or fairy tales are always saying that if I lose faith

then I'm gonna lose everything. And this is true.

So find something awesome, find something good for yourself

that you can believe in. Even if it is just a teeth fairry

If she makes you to believe in everything good and great

and awesome and magical then just believe in it

and don't let anyone to ruin your faith in this.

We all need to have something good

we only to have something nice to believe in.

In order not to lose faith,in order not to give up

in order to stay kind.So this is really important.

Find something nice or someone nice

in whom you believe. Whatever happens just remember that this is great

That this is kindness. That this is an example of everything beautiful

awesome and kind in this world.

And you need to believe in it in order for this thing to exist.

Otherwise it will just disappear and this world is gonna be covered

with dark, angry, awful things. and you don't want to do this.

You want to live in a great, healthy, safe world!

Thank you guys for sharing with me this awesome awesome day!

I hope that you like this video. I hope that you are staying kind no matter what is going on around you

I hope that you don't stop believing in great, awesome,

beautiful and kind things in this world!

And if you do! And if you stay kind please show it to me

by giving this video a big thumbs up!

Push that subscribe button! Leave your comments

and tell me what other things are helping you to stay kind and don't lose faith in this world

5 health benefits of chickpeas | Health Benefits #2 - Duration: 3:08.

Hello everyone, it's Pierrick. In this video I'm going to show you 5 health benefits

of chickpeas.

The first health benefit of chickpeas

is that they provide

loads of energy. 100 grams of chickpeas provides about 350 calories.

350 calories represents about 18% of our daily calorie needs.

Knowing that an adult needs 2,000 calories a day.

The second health benefit of chickpeas I wanted to talk to you about

is that they are good for our digestion because they provide loads in fibre.

for example, 100 grams of chickpeas provides

68% of our daily needs in fibre.

So it is important.

The third health benefit I wanted to talk to you about,

is the benefit of chickpeas for our muscles.

100 grams of chickpeas provides 38% of our daily needs in protein.

The fourth health benefit of chickpeas I wanted to talk to you about

is that they provide iron.

Which is relatively high as well.

100 grams of chickpeas provides about 34% of our daily needs in iron.

And the fifth and last health benefit of chickpeas I wanted to talk to you about

is that they provide magnesium.

100 grams of chickpeas provides 28% of our daily needs in magnesium.

To resume, chickpeas provide:

loads of calories,

so they provide a lot of energy.

Chickpeas are a very good source in fibre as well.

Chickpeas are a good source in protein.

A good source in iron.

And a good source in magnesium.

I was trying to pretend that I didn't know you were watching me

How are you all? And welcome to my YouTube Channel.

Now. Today I'm in Çengelkoy. Looking for a place to get my photographs taken.

And one of the requirements

Was. I have to have a Biometric photograph taken. Right

Four Biometric Photographs taken.

So, I hunted around and find

this place which was very hard to find

I was looking around trying to find this place. To get

my photograph taken. So I looked everywhere. I asked everyone and everyone was

pointing over there over there. I couldn't find it. And there it was.

Up there oops

And the only way to get up there was to go around the back. Upstairs and it's

behind another building up an alleyway but I found it. I'm here. So video. I've

already taken the video I've already been inside by doing this is the pre

after video. That I'm doing for you right like into the future or back in the

future. It doesn't matter. lol Hum. But check these stairs out.

Wiggerly little stairs.

Now just coming to film photography studio. And just ask them, that I needing some

photos taken

This is what I wrote

Very quick iI asked him. Should I come back? He said, come back in five minutes

They are very quick. I decided to stay and what a fantastic day. It looks like it's gonna

rain today

Didn't take long five minutes back in Auckland after

having my photograph taken to come back within an hour

never mind very cheap - only $20 all right

Thats all I paid $20 and they gave me more than just four. They gave me 10 photographs

I'll show you the photographs. I look really different without my glasses and

my hat. I look very different what a beautiful day

Here am I. In Müzelik. I should be at the other end of that fan so hot here. Take a look at these

and don't let anyone to ruin your faith in this.
