New Poll Reveals Mueller's Raid On Trump's Lawyer Is Beginning To Backfire Majorly.

This has to be one of the finest examples ever seen of a man whose power and intent

to take down a president has driven him to make such a foolish mistake that he botched

the whole deal.

Although President Trump has made it extremely clear that he believes special counsel Robert

Mueller's investigation into Russia and his 2016 presidential campaign is for all

intent and purpose a political "Witch Hunt," Mueller still enjoyed a vast majority of public

approval.

But now after Mueller's order to the FBI to raid Trump's attorney Michael Cohen's

office over what may have been a campaign law violation when he paid off Stormy Daniels

during the 2016 campaign the tables have finally turned.

According to a new Rasmussen poll released only last week, just 46 percent of likely

U.S. voters now believe Mueller's investigation is an honest attempt to determine criminal

wrongdoing by the President and his administration.

That's down from 52 percent when the same question was asked in the same survey in October

of 2017.

But at the same time, 40 percent of respondents also told Rasmussen they believe Mueller's

investigation has now morphed into a partisan witch hunt.

That's an 8 point rise from October's poll when only 32% believed Mueller's investigation

was indeed partisan.

17% are still undecided. The tides seem to have turned after Michael Cohen who is Trump's

longtime personal attorney had his office, his home and a hotel room raided by the FBI.

All for what has nothing to do with Russian collusion during the 2016 campaign.

Instead, Cohen is under investigation for campaign finance violations, bank fraud, and

wire fraud.Someday we will all open a dictionary to the words "Witch Hunt" and we will

see a picture of Former FBI Director Robert Mueller and his merry band of Democrat operatives

who sit on his panel.

Here is more on what Mueller lost thanks to his astronomical misstep via Breitbart:

"Any chance special counsel Robert Mueller had to get an interview with President Trump

was likely killed with the unprecedented FBI raid on Trump's personal attorney, the far-left

NBC News reports.

Prior to this week's raid, which has shifted public opinion against Mueller, detailed that

talks had been ongoing between the special counsel's office and Trump's attorneys

about a potential interview, an opportunity for Mueller to question the president directly.

NBC reports that the negotiation was nearly concluded, had reached the "final sticking

points" about the "timing, scope and length" of Trump's testimony.

Things were close enough that, in an effort to fully prepare for the interview, Trump

was talking about expanding his legal team.

But the raid, which many see as a mixture of prosecutorial overreach and desperation,

has scrambled negotiations.

The chances of Trump's sitting down with a special counsel, who is obviously out of

control and working way outside his stated mission to investigate collusion between the

Trump campaign and Russia, are probably nil. Moreover, Mueller's disastrous stunt gives Trump cover

with the public to not sit down with Mueller.

By all accounts, the FBI's raid on Michael Cohen is centered on Trump's personal sex

life, including, for some bizarre reason, the Access Hollywood tape and the perfectly

legal non-disclosure agreement signed by a porn star and Playboy bunny who claim to have

had consensual affairs with Trump more than a decade ago.

The public just does not care about this stuff.

Because it gave Trump what the public will see as a perfectly legitimate excuse not to

sit for an interview, the Cohen raid is probably the first big mistake Mueller has made.

The interview was Mueller's best chance to nail the president in a process crime,

to lure him into a perjury trap.

As of now, Mueller's investigation is floundering.

Thus far, he has only been able to charge a few people with process or financial crimes,

none of which have anything to do with Trump or his campaign.

In another dramatic move, Mueller did indict a handful of Russians, but this ultimately

proved to be a showy and symbolic gesture.

The accused will never be extradited, will never see the inside of a courtroom, and are

not even charged with "election meddling."

Whatever they might be guilty of, it was small potatoes and more anti-Trump than not.

What's more, the Russian investigation has backfired on the political left.

The Democrats and their allies in the media and intelligence community are the ones facing

the blowback.

Partisan FBI personnel have been fired or demoted, and the congressional investigation

into the Obama's administration's obvious surveillance abuses has only just begun. As

far as Trump's obstructing justice, even the non-stop leaks coming from Mueller's

office to anti-Trump outlets like NBC News cannot make anything close to a credible case

for that:

Three sources familiar with the investigation said the findings Mueller has collected on

Trump's attempts to obstruct justice include: His intent to fire former FBI Director James

Comey; his role in the crafting of a misleading public statement on the nature of a June 2016

Trump Tower meeting between his son and Russians; Trump's dangling of pardons before grand

jury witnesses who might testify against him; and pressuring Attorney General Jeff Sessions

not to recuse himself from the Russia investigation.

This is a laughable pile of nonsense, and Mueller knows it.

So now, Mueller is chasing the sex angle, but in doing so, he almost certainly blew

his chance to achieve his goal of overturning a presidential election with a perjury charge.

The only thing that might have persuaded Trump to risk an interview was public pressure,

which Trump no longer has to worry about.

Trump has plenty of other things to worry about.

Mueller is more likely than not to make more empty but grandiose moves in the hopes of

affecting the outcomes of the 2018 mid-terms and Trump's 2020 re-election campaign.

But the interview is where Trump would have faced the most risk, and Mueller appears to

have blown that.

Up till now, unlike others at his level under investigation, Trump has been incredibly cooperative.

While Obama officials pleaded the Fifth, Hillary deleted and bleached emails and Bill Clinton

hid what he could behind executive privilege, no one on Team Trump has done any of this.

what do you think about this?

Ask Jase: Spare Parts, UFOs, Antennas & Number of Days Filming► All 4 Adventure TV - Duration: 11:30.

Hey guys. It's Jase here.

Welcome to another episode of 'Ask Jase'.

Now we're gonna get straight into it, so let's have a look here.

I have got a laptop full of questions.

Now Jacob, Jacob S, if you're watching, G'day, Jacob.

Thanks for your question, mate.

Jacob's question is 'what spare parts and equipment would you take for a trip around

Australia including going to the Cape on the Old Telegraph Track.'

We love the Telegraph Track, don't we?

Okay if you're going to go hardcore on the Tele track, you're going to need heaps of

spares depending on your truck.

But important things to take, you're towing a trailer, take some bearings.

I find taking a battery drill and a battery grinder.

Need some drill bits.

Need some tech screws, you know, some self-tapping screws, some pop rivets.

So if you need to do a few repairs like that, that's a good one.

Bag of bolts, so just a big bag of licorice allsorts when it comes to nuts and bolts.

Put some nyloc nuts in there, mate, so they don't come undone again.

You need filters.

If you've got any Toyota, or a new Toyota, you going to need to replace the fuel filter.

That's a must.

Replace that fuel filter.

Soon as that light comes on, get out there and replace it.

So yeah, look, spare parts, tools, spanners, you know, bits and pieces.

Trailer bearings, yeah, things like that.

Hopefully that answers your question, Jacob.

All right here we go, we've got another one here.

So this is from Jake M. Good onya, Jake, if you're watching.

'Love the show.

In all your years traveling out in the bush, have you ever seen or experienced anything

freaky, like big wildcats, UFOs, or even Yowies?'

That's a cool question, that one.

Okay so, the closest thing I got to a UFO was I was up at the Mitchell Plateau.

So if you know that, that's in the Kimberley.

And we were parked up, we actually parked up on the old airstrip, right?

And we're sitting there around the campfire in our camp chairs, and I kid you not, this

big white light from the heavens came flying across the sky, lit the whole joint up, and

and then fizzled out.

And I just went wow.

I made a wish, mind you.

So I think it was a meteorite or something like that.

All I know it was very, very cool.

Unidentified flying object?

Quite possibly. There you go.

Now big cats?

Alright so I wouldn't say I've seen a lion or a you know like a big cat, but I tell you,

up in the Gulf country of Queensland, Northern Territory/Queensland border.

Mate, there are some serious feral cats up there, and I have seen some cats up there

that looked like little bobcats.

And I don't I mean they skid steer loader.

I'm talking about a serious cat that looks like it would eat the neighbor's dog.

And so yes, there are cats everywhere.

And then there's one more little story, and you're going to love this one.

I was up at a place called Battle Camp, and that's up in the Cape, okay?

And they call it Battle Camp, and there's actually an old set of ruins there.

And we were camped there one night, and it was Simon who mentioned to me, he goes, 'Oh

there's some wild dogs around here.'

And I went, 'oh okay,' you know.

Wild dogs. I'm sure they're everywhere.

Dingoes, maybe, wild dogs.

And he told me a bit of a story about some dirt bike trip he was on, and they all huddled

inside the hut.

And one guy was outside, and he ran inside halfway through the night apparently, because

of the wild dogs.

Well I sort of listened to that story, and then we went to bed.

I rolled my swag out beside the the vehicle there, and it would have been about, I reckon

about 3 o'clock in the morning, I'm in my swag and I hear this growling.

And I reckon the dog was sitting right beside my swag, and he was growling at me as if to

say, 'grrr... what are you doing, mate?

What are you doing in my spot?'

And I'm like, I got a bit of a shiver up my spine.

I went oh whoa!

And then it took off, and then a few seconds later he'd run past again.

It was like he was running past my tent.

You could hear him gallop past, and then 'grrr' growl at me and then run past.

And I'm thinking, okay what's going on here?

And I thought, I was sort of thinking maybe they'll have a go at me.

You know, they might think I'm a bit of tasty meat.

So I'm sitting inside my swag, and I unzip my swag slightly.

So I unzip it so I could get out of it really quickly.

And then I hear him gallop past, and then I just launched out of the swag.

And I've just come out into the darkness.

I couldn't see much because it was a very dark night.

I had pants on, by the way.

And I've just gone 'raawr' like that.

And just outside of that visual range, cuz they've got better eyes than I've got, you

could see them.

And they would have been a pack of dogs, and they were sitting there growling at me.

And I've just grabbed a couple of big sticks, and I'm throwing sticks at them and growled

at them just to let them know that I'm the alpha male around here.

And yeah, went back to bed, but that would put some chills up your spine, that does.

You know, because you've got to watch them feral dogs.

They'll take down kangaroos and calves and stuff like that and small children.

So remember that one if you're at Battle Camp, lock your kids up.

All right? You don't want them getting taken by any feral dogs.

So there you go.

I'm just having a look here, Jake M. Good question, mate, good, good question.

I hope that was a great answer for you.

All right, Adam C. Adam C., how you goin', mate, if you're watching.

'What CB antenna...'

I'm assuming CB/UHF... 'do you guys run?

The one I'm using using hardly picks up anything.'

Oh you gotta love the UHF, mate.

It's UHF: ultra high-frequency, okay?

So, um, basically the UHF radio or CB radio is used to communicate a short distance, because

they're not designed for long distance.

A HF is designed for long distance.

Unless of course you're using repeaters.

Well I'm not dialing into repeaters when I'm up there.

I wouldn't even know where they are, okay?

So generally people are buying the UHF, installing it onto their vehicle, their four-wheel-drive,

so that they can communicate between vehicles.

That's usually a good one.

You're not using it for any emergency or anything like that.

You couldn't try, but generally it's not going to get you the range.

Now what do we use?

Well I've actually got one right here, as a sample.

And I'll show you.

This is a new one here.

Now this is the aerial that I use.

It's about... I think that's about 1.2 meters roughly, mounted directly to the front on the bull bar.

It's got this massive big spring going on here.

You can see this big spring, so can take a bit of a flex, a bit of a bash from the tree.

So we've got a low gain and a high gain antenna, okay?

This one is a medium gain.

So you start off with a low gain--2 to 4 DBI.

That is the signal strength, and it is low gain which is perfect for hilly country.

So if you're in the hills, and you're going up and down like that, so you can't see the

vehicle in front of you, you want a low gain antenna.

All right?

Now if you're in flat country all the time, so you're up in the Gulf country, and it's

just flat everywhere up there.

Hardly any hills.

You use a high gain antenna, and that'll be 8+, so 8 DBI+.

All right, and that gives you good distance over flat ground.

Now when we travel around Australia--the top end of Australia you know down in the bottom

of Western Australia, crossed through Victoria, all those places--then you're gonna need a

medium-range antenna, because you don't know whether you going to be in hilly country or

flat country.

So use a medium-gain antenna.

What is that?

Well that is from about 5-7 DBI, okay?

This one is a 6.6.

So it comes in the medium range.

Its length... it's not overly long, so it doesn't get caught up on the trees and stuff.

And it's not a little short stumpy one.

So remember that one. Medium range.

I don't know what antenna you've got, mate, but depending on what country you're doing,

what you're doing, I go for a medium range.

The best way to go.

Heavy-duty spring, so you can handle those corrugations on the front of your bull bar

and all that sort of stuff.

So there you go.

See how that goes, Adam.

Okay, all right, so we've got one more question here.

And it's from Jordan B. G'day Jordan, if you're watching.

'Hey Jase, love the show and am a massive fan.'

Okay, thanks Jordan.

'I was just wondering how long you spend on the road filming each series.'

Okay I get asked this question a lot.

So I'm going to answer this question for you.

Hopefully I could do a good job of this.

Right All 4 Adventure is filmed a 10-part series.

Now we go away for 9 to 10 weeks, and we go up into, you know, the location that we're going to.

Like the last one we went to all over the territory.

Every episode rolls into the next.

What we try and do is show you the journey.

Sometimes a lot of it is the magic of television, so we could be in that bog for three hours,

and your watch it takes, what, three minutes on television.

But with Unleashed, Unleashed is different.

We split it up into two lots.

We do the first half of Unleashed--four episodes--then we do the second half.

And the reason for Unleashed is so that I can get different terrain, and also give you

different seasons.

Because the top end of Australia is different in the wet season as opposed the dry season.

So I really like to sort of change it up a bit, because ol' Swampy, as you know, on Unleased

it likes swamp.

And we go up in the dry season, it doesn't get to see much swamp.

So he wants to go up there in the wet season, all right?

So Unleashed, four episodes, and that could take us anywhere between--if you count 4-5

days per episode--that takes you right through to 2 nearly 3 weeks depending on the driving.

Okay, so there's a lot of driving involved, I know that much.

And towing.

So hopefully that answers your question, Jordan B, and mate keep sending in.

So everybody out there, keep sending in your questions, and I'll see if I can shoot you

some answers.

And don't be afraid to send in the technical ones because I will give you the information

or the knowledge that I've sort of picked up in the last God knows how old am I?

Yeah we won't tell you that.

...In the last God knows 30 years of experience on the road of being out there in

the bush and doing what I love and doing what you guys love to watch.

Okay so we'll see you next time on 'Ask Jase'.

2017 Lexus ES 350 Review | Acceleration Test | Edmunds - Duration: 3:06.

CALVIN KIM: We're testing a 2017 Lexus ES 350,

and we're gonna go see how well this thing does.

We're just doing the keyup run, which basically just sees

how the card does right after you

turn on the ignition with nothing set up.

Let's go.

Lot of wheel spin, which makes sense for a v-6, front wheel

drive platform.

268 horsepower.

Very good pickup.

Good response from six speed transmission.

And let's slow this thing down.

Keyup run was very fast.

7 second-- 7.04 seconds uncorrected.

Faster than a lot of Ferraris from the 1960s and 70s and 80s.

You got that going for you, which is nice.

Sport mode engaged.

Let's go ahead and turn off the traction control

to see what happens.

Now I'm going to preload the transmission a little bit,

just give it a little bit of revs.

Now we already burned out-- we already

did a wheel spin with keyup, so not too much revs-- let's say

1,500 RPM.

Let's go.

Quite a lot of axle [? track. ?] Not any faster.

Right.

Let's try that this time without all the crazy wheel

spin and axle hop.

Not noticing any difference in shift-strategy or throttle

response in sport mode, and that might

be because I'm full throttling it anyway.

So the computer automatically just does

that, just does all this stuff.

A lot faster too.

We're at six eight six uncorrected.

So, yeah.

That's pretty good.

Now let's try to back that up and maybe

drop a couple more hundredths.

Optimizing that launch.

Fine run.

So let's try it one more time.

And just make sure everything's A-OK.

Good launch.

Just a little bit of wheel spin control.

Traction control just barely turned on.

That's the best run so far 6.71 to 60.

Very good.

So the car is very responsive to how you roll on the throttle.

That last run, I was very deliberate to make

sure I initialized the traction control light,

so that the computer knew that there was some wheel spin,

but I tried to not push so hard that the computer would

actually do something about it.

It's a fine balance between having the computer know, hey

wait a minute, something's going,

on versus hey I've got to slow you down.

You want to balance that fine line.

For those who don't know what we are eating...

Inside the bread...

There is a tamale (a traditional Mesoamerican dish made of masa or dough...

We call this kind of bread "bolillo"!

Let´s try it!

Yes, not many people know about toys so I try to hunt them.

It´s good for me because they don´t care about them...

Thanks, bro! I hope the sale is good today...

"La Persinada" ("the blessing")...

It´s a tradition that the sellers bless the first money they receive to have good luck on the sale of the day.

You are right!

You can come to this market in 2 different hours...

Because some people start hunting with a lamp at 2 or 3 in the morning!!!

And other come until this hours to put their stalls... So you can hit the jackpot at any time!

Watch out, guys!

Hello! How are you pal?

Are you on the hunt?

Of course!

Cool! I hope you get lucky.

It was great to meet you guys! Thanks for watching the channel.

We watch the videos almost every day!

These are at $ 2 USD each... I'll take one for our camera girl, she'll love it!

Yes! $2.5 USD for all the ice cream cups!!!

Cool!

If you fill them with beer I will take them!!! LOL

Great idea! LOL

It says: "Championship Cup... Club America Property"!!! (America is a very popular soccer team in Mexico).

I don't like soccer... But is cool for the history it has!

It has the brand on the bottom!

Reed & Barton Sterling!

It has 149 ounces of silver!!!

It´s beautiful!

How much are you asking for it?

The gram sells for $1.25 USD!

Ok... That would be $5,250 USD!!!

Is that the price?

Right! You can buy this Championship for its weight in silver.

I recommend this flea market because as you can see you can find treasures like this one!

Pablo???

Pablo!!!

Sincerely greetings from Bogota, Colombia!

#TodosSomosHunters! (We are Hunters!)...

They are telling me that these were used by Pablo Escobar... LOL

Just kidding!!! But they are from the same era...

They are relics!

It's worthy to see the great design on them!

How much are you asking for them?

$40 bucks!

For both?

Yes!

Do you remember the Micro Machines???

I kept 2 of them from my childhood!

The plumber found them in the sink pipeline and my mom almost killed me...

Those were the only ones I could rescue!

Wow! This one was one of my favorites.

I have great memories of the Micro Machines!

May I see your figures of Big Jim?

How much are you asking for the lot?

$75 USD...

They look nice! This must be from a collection because they are in good conditions...

Yes, dude!

They are the Mexican versions even if they say "Portugal" on the back...

CIPSA used to reuse molds from other countries...

Let´s see the Jeep!

Look at the crocodile... This one has a mechanism that still works!

The Jeep has missing pieces but I think the lot worths the price.

How much do these little cars cost?

I´m asking $7.5 USD for each one...

Latin music! Cool!

$2 bucks!

It´s from Selena, and they say it's from the merchandise of her concerts.

I think is great!

This doll was made by Topper and it was the direct competition of Barbie.

It has great quality and I think this size is more portable and easier to play for the girls!

Look at these knock-offs of the Princess of Power series.

How much does this doll cost?

$5 USD!

It´s a good price for each one...

I like this one with the wings!

How much are you asking for the little soldiers?

$5 USD for each one...

We can see some figures of Dinoriders, Mask, and G.I. Joe...

I chose 5 figures... How much is it?

$4 USD...

Thank you very much!

Thank you "güero"! (People in Mexico say "güero" to blond or light skin people)...

See you, guys!

$1 USD for this figure!

Excuse me, do you have more of these toys?

No! That´s the only one...

How long have you been selling at this flea market?

I´ve been selling here for almost 40 years!!!

Thank you very much!

Uff! Didn´t see that figure!!!

Here you are sir!

What the name of this street food stall?

Mmm... "Taquitos of the Engineer Don Ramon"

I just made it up! LOL

We don't have an established name... LOL

These delicious "Taquitos" were recommended by my old friend Julius!

I will bring you some lemons!

Thank you very much!

This is one taco of "Longaniza" (similar to chorizo)...

And the other one is "Suadero" (a thin cut of beef from the meat that hangs from the breastbone on a cow)...

.75 cents each!

This flea market is huge!!!

You will find everything!!!

Great prices!

"Santa Cruz"

"Meyehualco"

We still at the hunt! We met a Hunter over here... What´s your name?

David!

Nice to meet you, man!

#TodosSomosHunters!!! (We are Hunters!) Yeah...

I come every Tuesday to look for some "Chachara" (we call the used things "Cachara").

Every Tuesday? Great!!!

Do you recommend this flea market?

Sure!!! But you have to come early in the morning.

If you come early you will find more stuff!

Yes, it's late but there are still good things to hunt here...

It is true! Some of the sellers put their stalls later, it´s worth to come even if you are late...

What objects do you collect?

I like to collect clowns!

Wow! That´s a little bit creepy.

Yes! That´s why I like them.

I love scary things...

If you come regularly you can find very antique toys that you wouldn´t imagine!

Yes, this flea market is one of the oldest in Mexico and one of the biggest in the world!

Yes!

You can find toys, tennis shoes, "Chachara", "pacas" (clothes in bundles), food, and more!

The trick is to dig!

Could you tell us a special tip?

Yes, that you have to bargain!

To bargain is cool!

This is Jose Antonio and he will tell us his daily routine...

We call him "Pinky Escarlata" !!! (Scarlet Pinky).

How was it?

Really?

Is that true? LOL

They are always joking!!! Cabrones! (swear word).

All the pals are making jokes! LOL

You know how is this...

But tell us how is this work ... Since you are on the battlefield every day.

At what time do you arrive here?

We arrive at 1 am in the morning!

We take out the merchandise, then we accommodate it and finally, we separate it.

Where do you bring the stuff?

We bring it in sacks where you find everything mixed up such as; shoes, toys, clothing, etc...

But as far as I know, earlier, you buy the sacks without knowing what you will find inside them. Right?

That´s true!

When we open them we find all kinds of things, like shoes, bottles, clothing, trash, electronics, etc...

We only flip the sack on the floor and start the day!

He's a liar! He always sleeps all night long!

LOL!

And the clients arrive here at 2 or 3 am to buy?

Yes! They have to bring a lamp so they can see.

They buy any kind of stuff.

How do you do to put a price on a thing that you just have seen? Or that you didn't know it was there?

It depends, people come here asking for things like this toy...

For example, I ask them .50 cents of a dollar for this and they offer me .25 cents... That's how it works!

Have you ever found something really special?

Yes, a lot of times we find antiques! Those are more expensive...

Thank god we find every kind of objects here.

But you have to train the eye! Because you have to take out the stuff while telling prices to the people. Right?

Do you remember the prices you´ve given?

Must of the time I forget them!

Sometimes the rush is huge, so you get confused... But that's the way things are.

So if I gave a lower or a higher price I don´t know!

I can imagine that the worst part is to pick up the stuff at the end of the day!

Yes... And also the sun!!!

The sun is burning!

As you can see, right now I´m separating the things...

But how do you separate the stuff?

Over here I have "Chachara", over there I throw the plastic...

Alright!

That way is easier for us to work on Wednesdays because everything is separate for that day.

Where do you sell on Wednesdays?

In the flea market called "Carcel or Santa Marta" (is a market near the feminine jail).

Ok! That´s also known as "El Saldado"?

Yes...

I hope we can visit that market soon!

That flea market is great!

I want to thank you and all the sellers because you were very kind to me...

I perceive good vibes even if some people say that is very dangerous to come here...

Guys, you have seen all our tour and the people is easy going and friendly...

I think is important that people get to know about these flea markets and learn about the "Modern Archeology"!

Yes, people always are saying that you get robbed... But is not common...

It's known that if you come in peace you will have no troubles...

But is like everywhere else in the city!

If you come here to buy stuff and spend a great time with your friends there will be no problems at all.

You can eat delicious dishes and find a lot of treasures!

Yes...

At what time do you pick up your stuff?

We finish the day at 5 or 5:30 pm...

Wow! They are here from 2 o 3 in the morning till 5:30 pm!!!

He is lazy and picks up his stuff until 7 pm!!!

That´s not true!

In "Santa Cruz" #TodosSomosHunters!!! (We are all Hunters)...

You know your business, dude! Thank you very much...

Hi! A glass of Tepache (fermented beverage made from the peel and the rind of pineapples, and is sweetened...

Either with piloncillo or brown sugar, seasoned with powdered cinnamon, and served cold), please...

I say that this is the beverage for the Hunters!!!

This is the beverage of the gods!

Herod the Great used to drink it!!!

LOL!

Yes!

Pontio Pilatus used to wash his hands in this beverage!

LOL!

You will enter directly to the heaven if you drink it!

Great!!!

It´s very cold!!!

Delicious!!!

It´s sweet!

I hope people still looking for this drink!

Yes, I do! I´ve been looking for you along the whole flea market!!!

I think this is the only Tepache stall! 100% recommended...

The location is in front of the Kindergarten!

If you can´t find me over here it's because I "kicked the bucket"! Lol

I hope you can visit this market! Remember they are here every Tuesday from 2 or 3 a.m. up to 5 or 6 p.m.

What do you think about this flea market?

I had a lot of fun and I am very happy to have brought you with me...

I've been thinking about the great job involved in hunting on this type of flea markets!

Imagine all those people that make a living of this...

They wake up very early every day, walk a lot and sometimes there is nothing to buy!!!

I bought 2 or 3 figures... Today we didn´t find anything special!

I came as a tourist to spend a fun time...

So I think we need value more the sellers that make the hard work for us.

They clean and take that stuff to the markets we go every weekend...

A lot of collectors complain about the prices...

I can recommend those guys to come here and try to find the good stuff...

You will realize that is not easy to hit the jackpot and that the prices are not as cheap as you would think.

It´s a really hard work to do!

We....Connect | Pastor Josh Lindstorm - Duration: 37:44.

I will ponder the way that is blameless oh when will you come to me I will walk

with integrity of heart within my house I will not set before my eyes

anything that is worthless I hate the work of those who fall away

is shalt not clean to me I will look with favor on the faithful in the land

that they may dwell with me he who walks in the way that is blameless show

minister to me

well hello Woodman hey raise your hand if you have ever cleaned a room by

simply taking the contents of the room and shoving them in a closet and

shutting the door raise your hand if you would be mortified to think somebody

comes in opens the closet and looks at the junk we kind of like to keep our

trash hidden don't we yet every day every day we come across people and that

they look put together then they appear to be high-functioning they seem to be

doing well and yet beneath the surface now their appearance betrays trash pain

sorrow within but we we the redeem people of God are supposed to be

dramatically different are we not rather than covering up our trash we readily

confess we don't have it all together that's why we invite each other into our

lives so we can help each other out or so we should we are in week two of a

four week series that we've simply entitled we and and and we're looking at

what are our four mission values the things which we as a community have

committed to doing the things that we as a community are committed to encouraging

each other to do last week we look at the first one I gather the importance of

our corporate gathering together and with all of us here it would seem that

message well received so we will move on to the

second one thank you for being here got a little anxious this week thinking that

would be awful if no one came our second one is looking at the importance of our

connecting others to Christ and ourselves to each other simply put you

cannot live the Christian life in isolation you and I were created for

community and everybody everybody needs somebody you simply cannot do this alone

what makes us difficult obviously is is you need to be known by somebody and

that often runs counter to what we want to do we always want to kind of present

the best and not admit what's going on beneath the surface it's very important

that we do so and so that's we're gonna look at today if you would let us pray

Heavenly Father we thank you that you loved us while we were yet still sinners

when we were at our worst and all of our junk and all of our mess and all of our

trash you sent your son Jesus Christ to give his life in our place how foolish

we must look to you sometimes cognizant of the grace in which we stand that we

always try to hide and pretend that we're doing so much better than we

really are across these campuses this morning I

imagine a lot of us walked in we smiled maybe shook a hand said hello we look

put together but below it's not so great father I pray that you'd give us the

courage to be known I pray you to give us the courage to be open I pray we

would truly as a community connect with one another

and as we do that father would you be glorified would your son's name be high

and lift it up and would your spirit unify us our father helped me for the

part I play now we meet with us we ask in Jesus name Amen well if you have a

Bible a turn if you would to Psalm 101 what's a little unique about this series

is we're pulling all of our texts from the Book of Psalms and the reason we're

doing that is to sort of just highlight the fact that the things we're talking

about doing God's people have been expected to do for an awfully long time

this isn't something new that we've just come up with even in the Old Testament

these were still the expectations for the people of God now the Psalms are are

all put together but they're actually unique and and the one we looked at last

week told us a lot about at the beginning but didn't tell us who the

author is now this one doesn't tell us much about the son but it does tell us

who wrote it it begins at there at the top you see that a psalm of David now if

you're new to this stuff David was a regard it's pretty much a rock star in

the Old Testament he was a king he was an ancestor of Jesus Christ he was the

only one in Scripture of whom it said by God this is a man after my own heart

now David was not perfect in fact he was far from it he was a murderer he was an

adulterer he did all sorts of naughty stuff but the thing that set him apart

was his desire to live righteously he had this desire inside the intention of

his heart was the pursuit of righteousness and that's where this

begins look at verse 1 it says I will sing of steadfast love and justice to

you O Lord I will make music I will ponder the way that is blameless oh when

will you come to me I will walk with integrity of heart within my house and

let's just stop there mid-sentence it says I will sing of steadfast love and

justice and the ESV the translation we're using here doesn't put

in what what sort of in the text there NIV puts it in it's your steadfast love

and justice Oh David's not singing of some random steadfast love and justice

he's he's singing to God and in steadfast love and justice God's mercy

and God's judgment are in a lot of ways the two sides of the same coin that they

that they are sweeter together than they would be apart we don't often think of

judgment as being very sweet we don't measure up but God loves us so much he

sent us on Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our iniquity and and because

he loves us God is willing to point out to us when we don't measure up these

these these work in tandem together and David says I am going to sing of your

love and this justice he goes on to say that I'm going to ponder the way that is

blameless oh when will you come to me and that tells us two things about the

way that's blameless number one David has to ponder it lest you think that

living righteously is like a paint-by-numbers that anyone can do it

just like pay attention it's not now there are certain things in the

Christian life which are real simple don't do this do that but there are a

variety of situations we're gonna find ourselves in where we need to ponder

what actually is the righteous thing here it's not always so cut and dry

David sitting back he's I'm gonna ponder what is the blameless way I'm going to

think about it I desire to do it and as he ponders it he gets blown away and

it's like oh I'm going to need help and that's the second thing we see right

he's like oh when will you come to me the thought of living blamelessly all

the weight of it I can't do this on my own

God you are going to need to come to me god I'm going to need your presence if

I'm going to have any hope to do this and then what sets david apart from us

sometimes is he says I will walk with integrity of heart within my house some

of us we want to give the appearance of walking in integrity when we're away

from our house and then when we go home we let our hair down and just be our

normal selves have you ever changed your behavior depending on who's around you

are there certain jokes you tell with church folk that you well I'm not gonna

tell that joke with church folk but I mean are there ever times that you

change your behavior depending on who's around you

David's desire to live righteously is going to begin at home by himself forget

what people see before I even talk about that I want to do this even when no

one's looking now some 101 belongs to a group of Psalms that we would call royal

Psalms Psalms that are dealing with the Davidic monarchy and by extension the

greatest King Jesus Christ and as David praised these things for himself it's

only going to be in Jesus Christ that we ever see them totally done Jesus Christ

was the only person on the planet to ever live totally blameless whether

publicly or privately Jesus was a hundred percent consistent and in Jesus

we see the steadfast love and judgment of God the judgment of God is that we

were sinners the penalty of our sin the judgment for our sin was separation from

him but God loved us he sent His Son Jesus Christ upon the cross we see

Christ's love for us upon the cross we see Christ's payment

for our penalty Christ's payment and death in our place in Jesus there is the

mercy and judgment of God the expectation is that if you have

confessed Christ as Lord if you've believed in your heart that God raised

him from the dead you are safe from your sin and then you will live in accordance

with the calls Jesus puts on your life Jesus would say follow me follow me

David wants to follow and it begins in his home what what is the intention of

your heart I would have no idea of the numbers there's just no way for me to

know but I but I think some people the intention of their heart is different

than that which they present to the people around them is the intention of

your heart the pursuit of righteousness even when people are not watching it was

David's and he goes on to kind of highlight some things that if the desire

of your heart and I hope it is is the pursuit of righteousness things that we

need to think about things that we need to do in order to live righteously the

first one is that we need to run from evil look at verse 3 I will not set

before my eyes anything that is worthless I hate the work of those who

fall away it shall not cling to me a perverse heart shall be far from me I

will know nothing of evil whoever slanders his neighbor's secretly I will

destroy whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart I will not endure

David makes a conscious decision to shun evil to run away from evil and then he

writes it out he writes out the things that have tripped

him up maybe in the past he writes out the things that he's seen bring other

people down and he's like I want to live righteously it's going to begin in my

home here are the things I will not do and it's quite the list isn't it he was

I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless worthless could be

translated wicked now I'm not going to look at any wicked thing and David is

writing this three thousands of years ago I think gave its mind would explode

to know the wicked things that we can look at from the privacy of our own home

David says I hate the work of those who fall away it shall not cling to me by

that David is not saying I hate those who fall away he that I hate the work of

those who fall away so so he has in mind someone who had been with him

worshipping God but then for whatever reason fell away from the worship of God

and now I started to worship some little idol David is making a commitment I am

never going to do that I'm never gonna succumb to idolatry what they do who

fall away shall be far from me it shall not cling to me a perverse

heart he says shall be far from me I will know nothing of evil a perverse

heart is one that is openly unfaithful for all the world to see David's like

that's not gonna be me I aim I desire I commit to know nothing of evil

whoever slanders his neighbor's secretly I will destroy I am NOT gonna partake in

those water cooler discussions I'm not gonna trade texts back and forth about

what so-and-so did last night whether it's true whether it's not that's not

going to be me when gossip when slander comes to me I'm taking it out not gonna

do it he says whoever has a haughty look in an arrogant heart I will not endure

people who are prideful I don't need around me

David the king is like I can never get arrogant I always need to have a soft

heart a sane estimation of myself I'm one step away from messing things up and

I don't need arrogant people around me tell me how awesome they are less I

start to think I'm pretty good because I'm not

David desires to run from evil to shun evil David recognizes it for what it is

a killer is there a chance you've been

treating sin - softly story is told I've heard it and I think there's different

variations but a traveler and a scorpion and the traveler comes up to the base of

a big mountain and the travellers been on a journey and he needs to get over

the mountain and just as he's about to begin his

ascent a scorpion comes up to him and the scorpion says I I need to get up

over the mountain I couldn't help but notice you're going would you kindly

take me up and the travelers a little hesitant he's like you're a scorpion and

the scorpion says I'm just I'm being legit I I'm like a little legs it's big

mountain you just give a scorpion a hand and so maybe against is better judgement

the traveler reaches down and picks up the scorpion and puts it on shoulder and

together they begin the ascent and it's a big mountain and the journey takes a

long time and as they go the traveler begins to get a little comfortable he

starts to talk to a scorpion and they go back and forth travels almost feels of

friends and then they reach the peak of the mountain and the traveler says were

here and the scorpion stings him on the neck and delivers a lethal dose

of poison the traveler falling to the ground looks at the scorpion and says

why the Scorpion says to him you knew what I was when you pick me up there are

many sins that we can commit in a day that we don't intentionally do and maybe

we don't even recognize we did something we shouldn't have done far more

concerning to me are the things which we readily know that is sinful that will

kill me Jesus Christ died on the cross to take that away and then we willingly

pick it up become friends with it the love of Jesus is that he loved us when

we were still sinners the judgment of Jesus though is he had to give his life

to pay the penalty for our sin and those of us who are not in Christ when he

comes back he will judge and punish for their sinfulness our sin is not

something to be trifled with our sin is not something that Jesus will come back

and just give nuggies and say you shouldn't have done that

our sin cost Jesus his life our sin is death are you flirting with something

that you should be running from

are you carrying a scorpion David committed to run from evil David

committed to connecting with the faithful look at verse six I will look

with favor on the faithful in the land that they may dwell with me he who walks

in the way that is blameless shall minister to me

contrary to what our world may value David is on the lookout for people who

are faithful in their walk with God he goes they they will dwell with me he who

walks in the way that his blameless shall minister to me and remember David

is king so he's got his royal household which is is in a way like a big company

you know David's saying I'm only gonna hire I'm only going to bring into my

home people who are faithful that's who I want to surround myself with

I want faithful people I want people who are blameless to minister to me which is

pretty insightful right because here's David the King affirming I'm going to

need help there is going to be a time when I need somebody to minister to me

as solid as I am as tight as I am with God as much power as I have in this

nation there will be a time when I need help and the person that ministers to me

I want to be someone who's faithful and blameless in their walk

do you need to connect with faithful people surround yourself with blameless

folk who can encourage you I'll tell you it doesn't come naturally we're not

always on the lookout for faithful I'm sure I've shared this before but I

forget what I shared half the time but III I'd Lee still remember sitting on

the edge of a stage at the end of a student ministry night I was a high

school pastor had a big student ministry and we set up this leadership team and

and the leadership team was to have some different responsibilities we made up of

kids and and and the students were picked by me talking to leaders talking

to kids and we ended up with some of the most popular influential students in our

ministry and they had some tasks that were simple helped clean up some that

were a little more weighty go reach out to the lonely ones and I sat on the edge

of this table or the the stage one night and and and I was like where are these

crazy leaders and I looked and they were all just hanging out talking to

themselves no one was cleaning there's these lonely kids right in front of him

and no one cares and I looked around and to my embarrassment I saw a group of

kids over here that we're cleaning up I actually watched another kid look across

the room to this lonely kid sitting by a fire pit and I watched the kid walk over

and sit with them and I'm a who are they I had no idea who they were tell you

they were not popular but they were faithful that night we got a new

leadership team got rid of Maul introduced myself to

some of the new ones

we don't always notice the faithful but the faithful are the ones we want

speaking into our life do you have do you have some do you have people who you

can connect with and they would speak truth David wants to run from evil he

wants to connect with the faithful here's an actually he wants to separate

from the faithless verse 7 no one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house

no one who other lies shall continue before my eyes David's like I'm not

gonna have Liars living in my home I'm not gonna have relationships with people

who are hypocrites and this is this is this is big boy big girl stuff right now

what we're about to talk about big boy big girl stuff we need to be engaging

with the lost fact Jesus gave us one big thing to do go into the world and make

disciples however if the people you are aiming to minister to ceases to be a

ministry where you're encouraging them but they are instead taking you down

with them you need to separate yourself can you do you have people in your life

that you know when you are with them you always end up doing things that you wish

you hadn't done the next morning you don't need to be around those people

kindly put you're not strong enough it was years ago and I'm sure we've come up

with better stuff since then like when I was a teenager I worked as a

lifeguard and and as for teaching you like you know back then um when you see

a drowning victim I don't know what they say now but but we had reach throw ro go

why because the drowning victims a very dangerous individual

they are flailing and in fear of death and if you just roll on up try and give

them a hug and calm them down they may take you down and so they say try to

reach them first before you go in the water if they're too far to reach try to

throw something to them before you go in the water if they're too far to throw

something try to get a boat and row to them before you go in the water and if

as last resort all you can do is go then go and try to come behind them try to

keep your wits about you we already have one victim we do not need to and we fool

ourselves I think telling ourselves that I'm gonna do ministry here I'm going to

reach them I'm going to be used of God to save them only to find in months

someone has to come in and get us very big boy very big girl content do you

need to separate yourself from somebody

now this is why you ever been on a real big boat and you notice those big metal

doors with the the wheels on them did you know why those are there because the

ship is built in compartments specifically designed so that if one

portion of the ship begins to take on water it can be sealed and keep the ship

afloat and if you've ever gotten into naval history or watch the old war

movies one of has to be the most terribly weighty thing for a captain of

a ship to have to decide is when a compartments taking on water but there's

injured people there but for the preservation of the ship the command has

to be given to close the hatch and I'm not saying you don't love people but if

it's taking you down you need some separation and I'm telling you Jesus

loves those people more than you do Jesus died on the cross for them and you

can make a very earnest prayer that says god I am so weak I just can't do it with

them anymore I want them to know you though God bring

people into their life maybe in time it could be me as I grow stronger do you

need some distance David wants to run from evil he names it and claims and

writes it out he wants to connect with those who are faithful surround himself

with people who can encourage him and

he's willing to separate himself from those who practice deceit and those who

utter lies finally he wants to help others look at verse 8 it's this morning

by morning I will destroy all the wicked in the land cutting off all the

evildoers from the City of the Lord remember David is King he's King he's

the sovereign over the nation and so what he's saying is morning by morning

day after day I want to be used of God to help the people God's put in my life

no David a little more authority than you and I have right so he can really do

some heavy lifting you and I'd be hard pressed to try to cut off the wicked

from the land but the principle remains that we we can wake up with the desire

morning after morning to be used of God to help others in our families in our

neighborhoods our places of employment this beautiful second place second best

city in the nation to live Colorado Springs spa that God has put you

when you look at some of these things admittedly sounds harsh no one who

practices to see shall dwell in my house no one who utters lie shall continue

before a morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked in the land

cutting off all the evildoers from the city of the Lord and I'll tell you it

sort of comes full circle a little bit the only reason it sounds harsh is

because you and I don't view sin the way that God does the cross the cross was

very harsh Jesus doesn't trifle with this stuff

He gave His life to take it away and you and I need to be agents for change we

need to stand up for God's justice and those who need it we need to be vehicles

and vessels of his love and grace to a world that desperately needs to hear it

and we're going to need help if we want to get it done if you desire to live

righteously you're going to need other people that you let in to your life do

you have that when you came in now you should have received a connect card in

your bulletin and just as we did last week we've given you four things easier

to print than to do but four ways that you can put this into practice in your

own life the first one is this to cultivate close relationships with a few

others who inspire you to live more like Jesus if you don't already have it like

David be on the lookout for the faithful for the blameless and ask them into

relationship maybe just say let's hang out I'll be too creepy right out of the

gate but but to begin to cultivate relationships with the kind of people

you would like to be secondly think through how you can

intentionally encourage family co-workers and friends in their faith

don't just be looking for people who can fill you up be looking for people that

you think you can fill and what's funny about it is lots of us most of us all of

us think that we could do is someone being a mentor to us but none of us

think that we could do any menteng or whatever it's called

we're not Rhett we're not ready I'm not equipped I don't know enough I really

can't be used I'm telling you if you know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior if

you can give a high-five or a hug you can be used to do the work of

encouraging people who are down on their luck and of struggling in fact sometimes

the best way you've encouraged somebody is to get with them and actually don't

say a stinking thing thirdly love well by getting to know your neighbors mean

kind of strangers greeting people at church and sharing the gospel I I want

to do this from my home I want to do I want this to be Who I am not just when

I'm being watched but as I walk across when a little cul-de-sac the people who

are in those homes I want to think that I would be encouraging and sharing the

gospel with them people I meet people I don't know people I do people I love

people I lesson love that I would be someone who's used of God to share the

gospel and the last one this is where it gets real big boy big girl evaluate your

personal influences remove people in situations in your life that pull you

away from Christ

if if the phone is too much temptation if the computer just just get rid of it

like it's 2018 I can't try if there's friendship circles that you just can't

not fall get away from it I've had seasons in my life where I I had to pull

myself away one long extended one I mean every Friday night I didn't I couldn't

go out anymore I watched reruns of Dallas and Miami

Vice not incredibly cool for a high school student and heartbroken when jock

died and you don't even know what that is about but I was crushed and the only

regret I have is that I didn't do it sooner it's not worth it we carry around

and we make friends with scorpions and all they're going to do is sting you sin

will never be your friend sin will never help you out

but the desire for it is real and so you need I need we need people to encourage

us do you have them if not I'd encourage you to get to work let's pray our God

and our Father oh we thank you for grace we thank you

for your mercy we thank you for the love of Jesus Father forgive us when we treat

sin as a pet forgive us for the times we think we can handle it or manage it or

keep it under control help us to run from it god help us Lord

to connect with those who are faithful and walking the way in which we would

desire to walk ourselves give us courage to put a little distance between us and

the things or people that would bring us down and may we live each life on

purpose seeking day by day to help others with

the platforms positions neighborhoods you've given us God would you be

glorified in us your people the church in Jesus name Amen

Wendy's® | Southwest Avocado Chicken Sandwich Review! 🥑🐓🍞 - Duration: 5:02.

hey everyone its Ian K back again with another one for ya this time headed

into wendy's to check out the newest version of their awesome chicken

sandwiches that's right it's the Southwest avocado chicken sandwich this

time out and it looks pretty awesome so let's set ourselves up to that

drive-thru yes hi peep this out can I go for the Southwest avocado chicken

sandwich with no tomato just a sandwich by itself and that's it great thanks

now the chicken sandwiches is here at Wendy's are pretty much up there with

chick-fil-a as far as I'm concerned so I'm super excited to check this out

right now hey yes thank you awesome thanks so much

alright is this one gonna deliver that Avo goodness let's peep this out

quality is our recipe as they always say here at Wendy's so let's check it out on

their all-new Southwest avocado chicken sandwich and I got to say I'm already

digging the presentation of that crispy chicken patty flopping over the sides

there let's lift up this semi toasted bun and see what we've got here looks

like plenty of that Southwest ranch sauce guys and it's actually from the

Marzetti brand so you've got some name-brand goodness going with this one

we've got some leaf lettuce underneath that looks like we've got a dollop of

that creamy avocado aka the guac thankfully no tomato mixing with that it

looks like they're applewood smoked bacon we've got some pepper jack cheese

and the homestyle chicken patty underneath now I didn't ask for the

spicy version of this but it looks like we've got some pepper flakes in there so

this could deliver a little bit of heat to this one here but let's take a look

underneath that and it looks like it is just the bottom of the bun so pretty

tasty guys I got to say a nice combination of really awesome looking

ingredients on this one and of course that crispy applewood smoked bacon is

always a highlight let's give this one a shot

it's the Southwest avocado chicken sandwich here Wendy's let's peep out

this flavor like I said earlier this sure does look pretty great we are

definitely diving in it's the new Southwest avocado chicken sandwich here

at Wendy's hmm whoa hold please I got to go in one more time hmm maybe not one

more time but I had to go in again really fast guys because the flavor is

off the chart on this this is exactly what I was hoping it was gonna be super

flavorful right out the gate that squirt to the Avol right in the beginning right

there along with the saltiness and crunch of the bacon and then you get the

juiciness of the chicken the softness of the bun and then a little bit of bite on

the back end coming from that ranch guys that Southwest Ranch has got a little bit

of a kick to it but man that is just delicious guys the

homestyle patty is easily making a difference for me

the extra light breading that I'm getting on the 100% white meat chicken

is off the chart on this truly delicious definitely another banger of a sandwich

over here Wendy's in the chicken department guys although the chicken

this time out for me is just a little on the drier side as I'm getting into it

further the sauce but this one is got along with that pepper jack cheese is

coming up on the back end and as I'm talking right now I'm getting that

slight sizzle in the back of my throat as well very tasty on this one and

definitely worth your time if you're a fan of Wendy's which I think most of you

guys are now well the bun itself does appear to be cracking a little bit on

top I can't help but feel this could have benefited by having that

pretzel bun that they had a while back that would have been an amazing

combination on top of it but as it stands guys this is a very very nice

combination of flavors like I said you're getting a decent amount of the

name-brand Marzetti Southwest ranch sauce on top of the crispy bacon and of

course everything else that it's got underneath it there with that creamy

Avo aka the guac really really well done so let me get into this with one

more bite one more close-up and then we'll wrap this one up with the rating

hands down just a lot of tasty goodness on the inside of this bun especially

with that name-brand Southwest ranch sauce and the applewood smoked bacon

guys along with the chicken and all the other goodies on this one this is

definitely something you want to run out and try it is really that good but like

always that's just my opinion what do you guys think do you think the

Southwest avocado chicken sandwich here at Wendy's is one of the better chicken

sandwiches they've had recently and if you haven't had this one just yet are

you gonna be running out to give this one a shot drop those comments down

below and definitely let me know and that's for my overall rating I'm gonna

have to give the Southwest avocado chicken sandwich here Wendy's a

rock-solid 9 out of 10 if the chicken itself was maybe a little more juicier

in the bun itself a little fresher this would have been an easy 10 but as it

stands guys it virtually is 9 out of 10 is pretty close to it there and all the

goodness you're gonna get on this absolutely delivers flavor wise and for

me personally I think it's the name brand Southwest ranch sauce that's

coming from Marzetti on top of the applewood smoked bacon that's doing it

here on top of the tastiness that is the chicken sandwich anyway here at Wendy's

you definitely have a lot to look forward to especially with the creamy

avocado on this it's pretty great and those are my thoughts on one of the

latest items here at Wendy's as we close out another episode of peep this out

guys I'm like I always say I've got brand new content every single week here on my

channel so while you stay tuned for the next review coming real soon in the

meantime stay frosty alright Wendy's you followed up the

awesome smoky mushroom bacon cheeseburger with a really tasty chicken

sandwich so let's keep those new releases rolling more than just maybe

4 or 5 months in between alright guys until next time I'll talk to you

soon

Niccolò Machiavelli, Discourses on the First Decade of Titus Livius, Book I, Chapter II - Duration: 13:48.

Book I, Chapter II.—Of the various kinds of Government; and to which of them the Roman

Commonwealth belonged.

I forego all discussion concerning those cities which at the outset have been dependent upon

others, and shall speak only of those which from their earliest beginnings have stood

entirely clear of all foreign control, being governed from the first as pleased themselves,

whether as republics or as princedoms.

These as they have had different origins, so likewise have had different laws and institutions.

For to some at their very first commencement, or not long after, laws have been given by

a single legislator, and all at one time; like those given by Lycurgus to the Spartans;

while to others they have been given at different times, as need rose or accident determined;

as in the case of Rome.

That republic, indeed, may be called happy, whose lot has been to have a founder so prudent

as to provide for it laws under which it can continue to live securely, without need to

amend them; as we find Sparta preserving hers for eight hundred years, without deterioration

and without any dangerous disturbance.

On the other hand, some measure of unhappiness attaches to the State which, not having yielded

itself once for all into the hands of a single wise legislator, is obliged to recast its

institutions for itself; and of such States, by far the most unhappy is that which is furthest

removed from a sound system of government, by which I mean that its institutions lie

wholly outside the path which might lead it to a true and perfect end.

For it is scarcely possible that a State in this position can ever, by any chance, set

itself to rights, whereas another whose institutions are imperfect, if it have made a good beginning

and such as admits of its amendment, may in the course of events arrive at perfection.

It is certain, however, that such States can never be reformed without great risk; for,

as a rule, men will accept no new law altering the institutions of their State, unless the

necessity for such a change be demonstrated; and since this necessity cannot arise without

danger, the State may easily be overthrown before the new order of things is established.

In proof whereof we may instance the republic of Florence, which was reformed in the year

1502, in consequence of the affair of Arezzo, but was ruined in 1512, in consequence of

the affair of Prato.

Desiring, therefore, to discuss the nature of the government of Rome, and to ascertain

the accidental circumstances which brought it to its perfection, I say, as has been said

before by many who have written of Governments, that of these there are three forms, known

by the names Monarchy, Aristocracy, and Democracy, and that those who give its institutions to

a State have recourse to one or other of these three, according as it suits their purpose.

Other, and, as many have thought, wiser teachers, will have it, that there are altogether six

forms of government, three of them utterly bad, the other three good in themselves, but

so readily corrupted that they too are apt to become hurtful.

The good are the three above named; the bad, three others dependent upon these, and each

so like that to which it is related, that it is easy to pass imperceptibly from the

one to the other.

For a Monarchy readily becomes a Tyranny, an Aristocracy an Oligarchy, while a Democracy

tends to degenerate into Anarchy.

So that if the founder of a State should establish any one of these three forms of Government,

he establishes it for a short time only, since no precaution he may take can prevent it from

sliding into its contrary, by reason of the close resemblance which, in this case, the

virtue bears to the vice.

These diversities in the form of Government spring up among men by chance.

For in the beginning of the world, its inhabitants, being few in number, for a time lived scattered

after the fashion of beasts; but afterwards, as they increased and multiplied, gathered

themselves into societies, and, the better to protect themselves, began to seek who among

them was the strongest and of the highest courage, to whom, making him their head, they

tendered obedience.

Next arose the knowledge of such things as are honourable and good, as opposed to those

which are bad and shameful.

For observing that when a man wronged his benefactor, hatred was universally felt for

the one and sympathy for the other, and that the ungrateful were blamed, while those who

showed gratitude were honoured, and reflecting that the wrongs they saw done to others might

be done to themselves, to escape these they resorted to making laws and fixing punishments

against any who should transgress them; and in this way grew the recognition of Justice.

Whence it came that afterwards, in choosing their rulers, men no longer looked about for

the strongest, but for him who was the most prudent and the most just.

But, presently, when sovereignty grew to be hereditary and no longer elective, hereditary

sovereigns began to degenerate from their ancestors, and, quitting worthy courses, took

up the notion that princes had nothing to do but to surpass the rest of the world in

sumptuous display and wantonness, and whatever else ministers to pleasure so that the prince

coming to be hated, and therefore to feel fear, and passing from fear to infliction

of injuries, a tyranny soon sprang up.

Forthwith there began movements to overthrow the prince, and plots and conspiracies against

him undertaken not by those who were weak, or afraid for themselves, but by such as being

conspicuous for their birth, courage, wealth, and station, could not tolerate the shameful

life of the tyrant.

The multitude, following the lead of these powerful men, took up arms against the prince

and, he being got rid of, obeyed these others as their liberators; who, on their part, holding

in hatred the name of sole ruler, formed themselves into a government and at first, while the

recollection of past tyranny was still fresh, observed the laws they themselves made, and

postponing personal advantage to the common welfare, administered affairs both publicly

and privately with the utmost diligence and zeal.

But this government passing, afterwards, to their descendants who, never having been taught

in the school of Adversity, knew nothing of the vicissitudes of Fortune, these not choosing

to rest content with mere civil equality, but abandoning themselves to avarice, ambition,

and lust, converted, without respect to civil rights what had been a government of the best

into a government of the few; and so very soon met with the same fate as the tyrant.

For the multitude loathing its rulers, lent itself to any who ventured, in whatever way,

to attack them; when some one man speedily arose who with the aid of the people overthrew

them.

But the recollection of the tyrant and of the wrongs suffered at his hands being still

fresh in the minds of the people, who therefore felt no desire to restore the monarchy, they

had recourse to a popular government, which they established on such a footing that neither

king nor nobles had any place in it.

And because all governments inspire respect at the first, this government also lasted

for a while, but not for long, and seldom after the generation which brought it into

existence had died out.

For, suddenly, liberty passed into license, wherein neither private worth nor public authority

was respected, but, every one living as he liked, a thousand wrongs were done daily.

Whereupon, whether driven by necessity, or on the suggestion of some wiser man among

them and to escape anarchy, the people reverted to a monarchy, from which, step by step, in

the manner and for the causes already assigned, they came round once more to license.

For this is the circle revolving within which all States are and have been governed; although

in the same State the same forms of Government rarely repeat themselves, because hardly any

State can have such vitality as to pass through such a cycle more than once, and still together.

For it may be expected that in some sea of disaster, when a State must always be wanting

prudent counsels and in strength, it will become subject to some neighbouring and better-governed

State; though assuming this not to happen, it might well pass for an indefinite period

from one of these forms of government to another.

I say, then, that all these six forms of government are pernicious—the three good kinds, from

their brief duration the three bad, from their inherent badness.

Wise legislators therefore, knowing these defects, and avoiding each of these forms

in its simplicity, have made choice of a form which shares in the qualities of all the first

three, and which they judge to be more stable and lasting than any of these separately.

For where we have a monarchy, an aristocracy, and a democracy existing together in the same

city, each of the three serves as a check upon the other.

Among those who have earned special praise by devising a constitution of this nature,

was Lycurgus, who so framed the laws of Sparta as to assign their proper functions to kings,

nobles, and commons; and in this way established a government, which, to his great glory and

to the peace and tranquility of his country, lasted for more than eight hundred years.

The contrary, however, happened in the case of Solon; who by the turn he gave to the institutions

of Athens, created there a purely democratic government, of such brief duration, that I

himself lived to witness the beginning of the despotism of Pisistratus.

And although, forty years later, the heirs of Pisistratus were driven out, and Athens

recovered her freedom, nevertheless because she reverted to the same form government as

had been established by Solon, she could maintain it for only a hundred years more; for though

to preserve it, many ordinances were passed for repressing the ambition of the great and

the turbulence of the people, against which Solon had not provided, still, since neither

the monarchic nor the aristocratic element was given a place in her constitution, Athens,

as compared with Sparta, had but a short life.

But let us now turn to Rome, which city, although she had no Lycurgus to give her from the first

such a constitution as would preserve her long in freedom, through a series of accidents,

caused by the contests between the commons and the senate, obtained by chance what the

foresight of her founders failed to provide.

So that Fortune, if she bestowed not her first favours on Rome, bestowed her second; because,

although the original institutions of this city were defective, still they lay not outside

the true path which could bring them to perfection.

For Romulus and the other kings made many and good laws, and such as were not incompatible

with freedom; but because they sought to found a kingdom and not a commonwealth, when the

city became free many things were found wanting which in the interest of liberty it was necessary

to supply, since these kings had not supplied them.

And although the kings of Rome lost their sovereignty, in the manner and for the causes

mentioned above, nevertheless those who drove them out, by at once creating two consuls

to take their place, preserved in Rome the regal authority while banishing from it the

regal throne, so that as both senate and consuls were included in that republic, it in fact

possessed two of the elements above enumerated, to wit, the monarchic and the aristocratic.

It then only remained to assign its place to the popular element, and the Roman nobles

growing insolent from causes which shall be noticed hereafter, the commons against them,

when, not to lose the whole of their power, they were forced to concede a share to the

people; while with the share which remained, the senate and consuls retained so much authority

that they still held their own place in the republic.

In this way the tribunes of the people came to be created, after whose creation the stability

of the State was much augmented, since each the three forms of government had now its

due influence allowed it.

And such was the good fortune of Rome that although her government passed from the kings

to the nobles, and from these to the people, by the steps and for the reasons noticed above,

still the entire authority of the kingly element was not sacrificed to strengthen the authority

of the nobles, nor were the nobles divested of their authority to bestow it on the commons;

but three, blending together, made up a perfect State; which perfection, as shall be fully

shown in the next two Chapters, was reached through the dissensions of the commons and

the senate.

"Pineapples (pt. 1)" - A Slam Poem on Anxiety - Duration: 5:15.

[Please read the description, thank you so much!]

I should heed the warning that this is more of a public rant rather than a poem. This poem is entitled: "Pineapples (pt. 1)"

I'm going to show you what a mild anxiety attack looks like for me.

Are you ready?

Are you watching closely?

Yes, if you think I look like I am about to jump out of my skin, this is what I consider "mild,"

And, yes, I wrote this poem a week in advance

And I've practiced it several times already since then

But I knew that every time it would look like this every single time

I, well, had an anxiety attack just writing this

And with that, I'd like you meet my friend, Anxiety.

(I need a volunteer...)

(Make two fingers. Feel my pulse, right here)

(That's anxiety.)

Everyone gets anxious.

In fact, most people get nervous talking in front of people like this

But, no, this doesn't scare me,

It's the one-on-one that freaks me out.

And this is is just one-on-one.

...on one-on-one-on-one (pointing to different people)

Can I get you guys to do something with me? It's a breathing exercise, one of my favorites, I'll walk you through it.

We're going to breathe in for four seconds, hold it for six, release it for eight. I'll count on my fingers. Please, do it with me. Ready?

Breathe in.

Release... 1...

(It's hard for me because I am very nervous, but I hope it does help someone.)

I carry a dumb little fidget cube with me.

Everywhere.

And, yes, it does help me

But everyone who sees it wants to fiddle with it

And some act insulted when I say 'no'

No, you can't take my wheelchair for a joyride, thank you very much!

You can't go for a sprint down the hall with my social crutches that are the legs for my sick brain,

No, you can't take my walking stick, my stilts, my cane,

What wrong with you?

But that's just the trouble

Mental illness is invisible And it is overlooked because of it.

No one knows this because I fortunately haven't had to use it yet, but I have an SOS note in my journal that reads:

"Ziggy is having an anxiety attack and he texted me telling to give you (the teacher) this letter.

He says he will be back in a few minutes when he feels he can safely return. Don't worry, he knows how to get through it, he just needs his space..."

Yes, I am a teenager who carries his phone everywhere, but I am not a teenager who is interested in texting

[LOUD SOUND WARNING] while I'm sitting on the John to skip class unless it is so that I can tell a friend, "hey, sorry, I can't make it to class right now

[ok the sound is over] because I can't breathe for no goddamn reason and I can only cross my fingers in the hopes that

Mrs or Mr teacher won't think I'm making up some lame excuse even when I show up to class all shaky

and puffy eyed and they tell me 'sit down' and 'shut up' when I'm choking on my own throat and bursting at the seams

When I say "I'm just getting nervous"

I may mean, "I may have a panic attack if I don't calm down soon"

and if you say that you're getting nervous, I take it very seriously, anxiety or not.

(to the front row: I purposely did not eat lunch before coming here because I would have probably thrown it up by now. You guys are in the splash zone.)

I'd like to thank someone who isn't here right now

Someone who I owe a lot to

Someone who is, honest-to-god, a complete stranger

Someone I think might have forgotten about me, if not someone who was actually polite enough to keep his distance

Someone who has officially been marked the biggest mystery of my life

And probably will continue to be my biggest mystery for as long as I live

I was sitting alone at lunch one day

Not because I was lonely, but because my friends had been busy

And this guy walks up to me and asks if I'm okay

And I hardly get out a word out

But my answer was generally, "yes, I'm alright"

And he sort of introduces himself and goes on his way

But the next day

I'm alone again

And he approaches me

And sits down

And I suddenly

Get this creeping feeling

Almost like this crawling numbness

That spreads across my face

And finds its way to chest

And then to my hands

And I am shaking

And my lungs are unsettled

And I feel like I'm going to throw up

All because of

Five seconds

Of eye contact

With a stranger.

And then for the next thirty minutes that was the span of lunch

For the next three days or so it just got worse and worse

Until I told him

"Please, leave me alone!"

Because he

Was the first person

I had ever had a panic attack in front of.

And he was clueless

That it was all just faulty brain chemistry

And incorrect thinking.

Anxiety makes you ask yourself questions such as,

"Where do I put my hands?"

"I hope that didn't come off as rude."

"Did I leave the stove on?"

"Did I do something wrong?"

"Don't panic."

Only when you start to panic there's no way you could ever think out full sentences, so it's sounds more like:

"Hands."

"Breathe in."

"Smile and nod."

"Hands." "Stove?"

"Breathe out."

"Wrong." "You're wrong."

"Panic."

Anxiety is just a constant series of uncontrollable internal,

"Why'd you say that?"

"They're not interested,"

"That's not worthwhile,"

"No one cares."

"Stop talking."

"You can't do that."

"Why can't you stop thinking?"

"Goddammit,"

"Goddammit!"

"GODDAMMIT!"

So when you use the phrase "omg I had an anxiety attack" and you don't mean it

And your heart wasn't crashing against your ribs to escape

And your hands weren't shaking like a quake

And you couldn't couldn't help but mistake

A simple "hello" as your fate

As each second seemed to make

Another hour you'd stay awake

And you didn't wonder how much more you could take

As your bones began to ache

Think of me Here and now

And maybe you'll reconsider anxiety something to fake.

Thank you.
