I'm afraid
I'm scared to speak in French and I don't know why
I think it's because it's been a while
since I've made a video in French
Okay, it's been a while since I've published
a video on YouTube
in French (that doesn't suck lol)
when I was at LangFest in Montréal
I made a few videos in French
on my iPhone
and I didn't put them on the internet
they're still on my phone
yeah I made them
I said stuff
about nothing really
it's not important but
I did it
but now
I'm going to upload this video on YouTube
I'm positive about it because
I put makeup on
I put in a lot of effort
in order to prepare myself for this video
*en termes de (in terms of)
my face
because I was watching videos on YouTube
and I said to myself
"oh that would be cool if
I started making videos
in French to practise
to share what I'm doing to learn languages
my progress with my languages
yeah thats gonna be great!"
ok so first I want some tea
so I went to the kitchen
and I set the kettle to boil
I have my *little* mug of tea here. It's a bear.
yep
Okay that's that. So I made some tea.
and afterwards I said to myself "oh uhh maybe
I ought to put some makeup on because
if you're gonna make a video
the people who watch this video can see my face
it's always nicer if
the face
of the person in the video
not all dolled up but you know what I mean?
I hope
I feel more confident when I'm wearing makeup
when I'm wearing...
war paint on my eyes
sooo I put some makeup on BUT
I like doing eyeliner
so I started with this eye
it was liquid liner
and after I finished this eye
the bottle of liner
finished
there wasn't anything left
so I had to find another eyeliner to do this eye
here there's liquid liner
and there's gel liner here
and because they're two different materials
I had to try and correct this side
because the look was different and it annoyed me and
10 minutes later
I *finally* finished my eyeliner
and now I'm here
and that's that. It's already been 4 minutes
into this video
yep
bon travail Robin
the purpose of this video is
to tell you what I'm currently doing for French and Chinese
that I started learning Swedish
I love that language
for French, what I'm currently doing is
you know... ow my eye
you already know that I took the DELF B2
I passed the DELF B2 and I'm super stoked
now I'm in the process of reaching the C1 level
it's cool... it's a little terrifying because
there's a biiggg
distance between the B2 and the C1
because the B2 is the B2 and the C1 is the C1
but it's really different
between the levels right anyways
the things I'm doing to improve meh mi ma eh
to improve my French
first of all
I started reading in French
I'm already on...
I put it underneath my computer because I'm tall and
I put my computer on my chair
and it's too... it's not tall enough for me
so my book is under my computer
and I'm currently reading the Divergent series
I already read it in English
right now I'm reading it in French
and I'm on the 3rd book of the series
it's great. It's a good exercise to improve a language
you learn a lot of vocabulary
it's fun. I like reading
yeah, it's good.
I'm gonna make a video about reading later
I have a blog post in French on my blog if you want to read it.
but yeah, I'm reading Divergente
Other things
I'm watching videos in French on YouTube
almost exclusively in French
I don't really watch videos in English now
I watch videos in French every day
for around 30 minutes
sometimes it's more, sometimes it's less
but about 30 minutes of videos in French
and it's helping so much with listening comprehension
I'm not watching videos about "how to learn French"
things like that
I mean of course it's good to watch things like that from time to time
but in general I prefer to watch vlogs
makeup tutorials
things like how to cook
but yeah I like watching vlogs
I'll put some links to channels I enjoy watching below
if that interests you
I talk with a teacher/tutor on italki
2-3 times per week
because I don't know any French speakers in my "real life"
ok it's real life on italki too but
I don't know people (avec lesquelles) who I can talk to
everyday
it's quotidiennement
so I use italki and it's really effective
I love my teachers
we...
talk...
they correct me
it's cool
I use Instagram a lot as well
to talk with people who speak French, Chinese, Swedish
any language!
it's easier when it's in a language I speak
it's super effective and it motivates me a lot
because when I don't feel like studying or revising languages
when I feel a little discourages because
I'm learning something difficult
and I tell myself
ugh I can't do it! it's too difficult, it's too hard I want to stop
then I go on Instagram
I see the stories, the posts, the comments
of other people who are learning languages
and it's a huge source of motivation for me
and if you're also learning languages
and you don't know people in your "real life" who are learning languages
who love languages
who are polyglots... things like that
I recommend you make an Instagram account
it's great
and the 4th? 3rd?
I think it's the 4th thing
that I'm going to ... uh...
that I'm doing to improve my French level
is to start speaking French every day
and I know I already said that I talk with my teachers on italki 2-3x per week
and it's true, it's helping me a lot
but in order to improve my speaking level
I need to practise speaking every day
that's what you gotta do to improve (*fait)
and I don't really like speaking
right now I feel more comfortable
which is great now
but I'm doing the 30 day speaking challenge
and also
the record yourself challenge
this video is for the record yourself challenge
the 30 day speaking challenge is something else
I'm doing it... I'm trying to do it every day
from time to time...
*im tired ignore me*
I'm trying to do it each day... I'm thirsty hold on
I adore tea
it's finally raining today and I'm so happy
I adore the rain
*whoops*
it's not cold out
but it's raining
so I'm happy about it
ok I think that's everything I want to tell you today
for this video
I hope this video
was interesting to you
that you learnt... something?
I dunno I make videos to improve and I hope it helps you too
have a great day
and see you next time. Bye!
