Today, 3 months are passing since we've arrived in New Zealand
After 1st month in New Zealand we also recorded a video
If you watch it, you'll see that I was mentally weak back then, Kasia was completely mentally dead :)
Now, 3 months are behind us and I think I feel quite different
Of course it is different
But before that ...
If you're wondering why this waterfall is so dirty
It is because for the last few days there was a lot of rain and there were loads of occurrences of ground falls
Coming back to the subject
3 months ago when we came to New Zealand, we thought that this place is heaven on earth
...until we went for shopping and got an heart attack
We did shopping for 3 days for $100
coming here we imagined, travelling a lot, finding a cool job...
... we'll settle down for a few years
..and maybe only then we'll come back to Europe
Over past 3 months, SO many things have happened and changed that it is hard to express
Let's have a sit here
We think that we do NOT want to live here anymore
There are a few reasons for that
1 of them is...
super expensive?
Yeah, that too but it is super far away from Europe, from Family
And believe me, I have NEVER been family-missing person.
I always thought that there are so close that I can visit them anytime and that's why I rarely missed them
I simply didn't appreciate my family enough
Now... it is SO far away from home and family that you cannot just buy a ticket and be there with them in 2 hours
Another reason are Maori
Generally speaking, the Maori culture is not what we thought it will be
If you've ever imagined Maori people to be proud nation of warriors... you are hugely mistaken!
How could I say it in 1 sentence?
We simply don't like Maori culture...
The story is completely different if you talk about white New Zealanders
They're extremely chilled out and super nice!
but Maori? Naaa...
Lastly... it is really cool to travel and see those places but...
We talk a lot with Kasia about it
We both start to think that our place is Scotland
If anyone thinks that they will come here...
...and see beautiful cities for example
beautiful in architecture respect - you won't find anything here
New Zealand is all about nature
This is the only thing that make New Zealand worth visiting
I really recommend coming to New Zealand, buying a camper and travel the country within it
It is indescribable experience. We struggled a lot at the beginning but now is all good
Now we got used to it
Here's our 'Silver Sickle'
Living in a camper van takes practice. It is NOT easy
And even if you do not like it at the beginning, you may like it with time
For us, it is a great experience but we would NOT like to live like that for very long time
So yeah... We'll keep exploring and we'll see what happens
If we find good jobs - cool. If we do not - also cool! We will go back sooner :D
The adventure is really great but we will not cry to come back
We miss our lives, our routines...
At least for this moment - being here on the North Island, being here for 3 months and after ALL those things that happened
BECAUSE SO MANY THINGS HAVE HAPPENED... that it is difficult to comprehend
Check out previous videos to see what we've been up to but you won't see at least 90% of stuff anyway :D
Just to add for the very end
The biggest change or rather happening
are all those thoughts and conversations we're having
The amount of stuff we started to think about or things that we've learned about ourselves is just incredible
We just keep saying with Kasia
that it would be very difficult for us to learn SO MUCH if we didn't come here
A little bit like in 'The Hobbit' movie
When Gandalf said to Bilbo:
"You will never be the same when you come back"
And this is very relevant to us
And that's it!
