I know what the president thinks.

I mean, I know what he's said about her.

Yet, he's reaches out to her.

I'm just wondering what ... I mean, maybe that's a good thing.

You can say, you reach out to your to people who don't like you.

It certainly undercuts the ongoing premise that he's not giving access to the press or

he's not fair to the press.

He does.

He gives interviews.

I just have to back up because you've mentioned somebody by name who I regard as a very hardworking,

honest journalist who-

She's very hardworking, honest journalist who happens to be a very good person, a good

person, a mom of three who works hard, who seem ubiquitous in print and on TV, and I

think, just had a really nice profile written about her.

Since you mentioned somebody by name, I felt just a little uncomfortable.

Look, he is somebody.

Donald Trump is somebody who as a business man, a successful business man, as a very

well-known New Yorker, who bet on New York and had vision when no one else would, who's

a master brander, who was successful in television.

He is somebody who has always dealt with the press.

This is not unusual, unfamiliar, uncomfortable for him at all.

He's a natural.

What you just say was Kellyanne Conway talking to Michael Wolff on C-Span.

Basically, Wolff just wanted to simply if Donald Trump hates the New York Times so much,

specifically reporter Maggie Haberman who he has said that he does not like, why in

the world would he agree to sit down and do an interview with them.

If you come out and say that you hate this organization, that they're failing, it doesn't

really make much sense for you to sit down and talk to them.

Rather than actually answer the question, Kellyanne Conway took issue with the fact

that the interviewer mentioned what Trump himself had said and then tried to somehow

say that those things never actually happened.

She actually went on there and defended Maggie Haberman which, I got to admit, kind of admirable

there.

The fact is that Kellyanne Conway and Donald Trump have been absolutely horrible in their

treatment of the press, specifically the New York Times and Maggie Haberman.

For her to get on TV and tell us anything other than, "Yeah, we hate them," is an absolute

lie.

Then as you watch a little further into that clip, you see Kellyanne Conway once again

deflect from the initial question and start talking about that fact that Donald Trump

was a great businessman.

He was so successful.

He was a great New Yorker.

He had faith in that city when nobody else did.

Those are things that she said during that interview.

They had absolutely nothing to do with questions being asked by Wolff.

Instead, she's just sitting there talking about how great and wonderful our dear leader

is.

Kellyanne Conway has got to be the most faithful yet clueless member of the Trump administration.

It doesn't matter what this man does, who he attacks, he can always count on Kellyanne

Conway to come out front and center and talk about why he's right or deflect from any controversy

by saying how great he is.

That's Kellyanne Conway's role within this White House.

She's not an advisor.

She's not a spokesperson.

She is the diversion.

That's what she does.

"Oh, he bombed Syria?"

"Yeah, but remember when he had faith in New York?"

That doesn't make any sense but that's what she does.

That's why they parade her out in front of the cameras.

That's why they were worried when networks were saying, "We may not have her on anymore."

She's the person who can take the attention, the focus of the public off of Donald Trump

and put it in her.

She has no morals.

She has no ethics.

She has no shame.

She'll go out there and say whatever she needs to say, get the public talking about her,

and completely ignoring all of the horrible things that her boss is doing as president

of the United States.

Kellyanne Conway is Trump's most loyal servant and probably whenever his administration ends,

she'll probably be the last person standing by his side.

Number one is you tend to over analyze everything.

Every problem you've ever had in your life, you'll be able to just think through, except

for dating.

If 2X equals 6 then X equals three.

When it comes to love, it's definitely not that cut and dry.

Sex times two plus texting times four times eight weeks equals love?

It's not a formula.

If you find that you are constantly over analyzing every single thing in dating, in relationships,

and you know what?

It might be time to just learn how to go with the flow just a little bit more.

Love is not a formula to be followed.

Emotions certainly cannot be filled out in an algorithm.

Number two is everyone expects you to have the perfect partner.

If you're an overachiever in every area of your life, you can work through anything and

make it happen, except for finding a suitable partner.

You might work hard to be a doctor or a lawyer, successful business woman, but you know what?

That doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to have success in your love life.

Have patience and understand that you can be happy now being single and anyone who puts

pressure on you to find love is, well, they're dumb.

Finding love and happiness is important and maybe you won't end up with someone as smart

as you, but you'll find someone who's just really compatible with you.

Maybe they are the fun to your serious.

Maybe they are the relaxed to your stress.

Maybe they are the simplicity to your complexity.

Finding love doesn't mean finding another you.

It means finding someone who completes you.

Number four is you might just have less experience with love.

Smart people tended to spend more time on their achievements than on relationships when

they were younger.

Let's get real here.

It's pretty rare to be the valedictorian who's also the prom queen.

Now, when you were younger, you might have spent all of your time going to college, going

to grad school, getting your first job, finding a really high paying career, while other people

may have spent time really working on their social skills and building relationships with

people.

Now is the time to really make this a priority in your life and put as much energy into learning

your social skills, learning how to flirt, learning how to date and getting that experience

as you would in other areas of your life.

Number five is you feel entitled to the perfect love story.

Yes, you may have the perfect job, but you might not find the perfect relationship.

Why, because perfection doesn't exist in relationships.

You will find a relationship that is great, that is healthy, that's going to make you

so happy in life but, no relationship is perfect.

No man is perfect.

Although you might be a perfectionist in other areas of your life, it's really time to open

up and be able to explore other opportunities with people.

Don't be so quick judge when you meet people for the first time.

Realize that the men that you meet may not be as smart as you but they may have other

attributes that are really, really important and great.

Loosen up your criteria a little bit and explore other opportunities.

Explore other people.

Let me tell you just a little bit about how I got started on YouTube.

Listen closely because I'm going to quiz you later.

I started my channel in the summer of 2007.

It was my husband's idea to check out YouTube.

I filmed my first vocabulary lesson outside in the backyard.

It was a lesson about the outdoors.

Can you recall the details I just shared? Let's see.

Sometimes we need to clarify or correct information.

We use stress and intonation to do that. This will be the focus of our lesson.

Let's practice stress and intonation for emphasis and contrast.

When we stress a word, three things can happen.

The stressed syllable is said a bit louder and at a higher pitch

The stressed vowel sound in that syllable is longer compared to the unstressed vowel sounds around it.

Not the beginning of 2007. The summer of 2007.

Not my brother. My husband.

Not a park. My backyard.

Not sports. The outdoors.

When we clarify information, we often state what's wrong first and then state the correct facts.

This results in at least two different thought groups or intonation groups. There's a pause in between.

Each intonation group or thought group has its own focus word.

We don't necessarily have to state the incorrect information,

but a common pattern in English is to give old information first and then give new information.

That's why the focus word is usually the final content word in a sentence.

So to summarize...

Now you try using stress and intonation for contrast and emphasis.

I'll ask a question.

Follow my prompts to respond and correct my misunderstanding.

Remember to stress those focus words.

An Atlantic Exchange Event – Cyber Security Chapter 4: Sharing Data with the Government - Duration: 4:11.

No no, it's actually, so think of it as a radar system.

And you know, each table here is a company and when a threat actor is trying to hit that

company.

All the company needs to do is say, "That guy I hitting me."

Tell the government.

It goes to the government.

The government has a decision.

Is it a criminal or is it nation state and how do we stop it?

Is it our job to stop it?

Now, the company would have to meet a certain standard.

And that standard would be like the National Institute of Standards and Technology or NIST

framework or another one, an international standard which are out there.

But it would have the ability to say I'm being probed but a company could not stop a nation

state attack.

So that's where the government has to come in.

But the government can only come in if it knows the attack is ongoing and you can by

setting up the right protocols understand that.

In fact, that's really what I think we need to move forward.

And it should be debated.

An alert system.

An alert system.

Codified somehow.

You know we do it.

Yeah.

We do it with planes.

We do it with missiles.

You're going to need to figure out how to do that with cyber.

And I think it's imminently doable.

What about the you know pushback that you would inevitably get?

You're in the private sector now.

No company wants, you know.

Companies are being attacked regularly.

You don't want to alert the government and have them crawling around your servers every

time you get pinged.

Well so I'm not advocating the government crawling around your servers.

I'm actually advocating a, a way of saying what's happening to companies, to sectors

so that the government can respond.

There are more companies out there than the government can go after the servers and do

all that.

But you know if Sony was being hit with this and the government never sees it, the government's

never going to be able to stop it.

Until it's too late.

Until it's too late.

So you have to have a mechanism that says let's share that information.

And what type of information are we talking about sharing?

We're not talking about the information that we're sending.

We're talking about when a bad guy is trying to infiltrate or passing malware into your

site, the fact that that's happening, the government should know and should be able

to stop or help stop it either by giving you advice on what to do or by actually seeing

if this is an attack that really is trying to take down a sector, what's the government

going to do?

Let me take it one step further.

If you want to do this country real harm, you would go after sectors like the energy

sector, the financial sector, something like that and look at how you could take down big

portions of that.

Now, you're into a nation state attack onto our country or hackers that have nation state

like responsibilities.

The only one that has the capacity to do that is the government and that's the Defense Department

but they're not trained to do that.

They don't have the authorities and we haven't actually allowed industry and government to

work together.

And you know the first thing people would jump to as you did on this is that well we

don't want the governments going around in servers and doing all that.

I don't want the governments going on servers.

The government don't want to go around all those servers.

So we need to come up with a way to, an alerting system that does it with data that everybody

can agree should be shared.

And the way, I think the way that they actually put it into the legislation is actually a

good way.

It says I'm going to send it to government and it's not going to go just to the Defense

Department or the Intel.

It's going to go to Homeland Security and everybody.

So everybody sees it in the most transparent way possible.

That way, everybody knows that they're doing the right job.

Homeland Security and others can attest to it.

So if you don't do that, then, you're in the alternative, the other universe.

So let's not do anything.

Wait for something bad to happen and then emotionally dictate how we're going to stop

it.

That's the worst case to be in.

Being the president… or even a member of Congress, really has its perks.

While the salary these folks make is far above the national average, it's not too outrageous

in the grand scheme.

However, it's the connections and the jobs they land after leaving office that really

pay the big bucks, making even a single term in Congress incredibly lucrative.

But nothing compares to the perks of being a former president.

As reported at Read Conservatives, Obama was one of the less wealthy presidents we've

had in some time, but that doesn't change the fact that he's part of the elite 1 percent

now that his tenure is finished.

His pension payment alone will be $207,800 for the upcoming year, about half of his presidential

salary, and he'll get this every year until he dies.

That's a lot of dough for running the nation into the ground and being nothing short of

a disaster.

Another perk he'll receive in perpetuity is Secret Service protection and allowances

for things such as travel, office, and communication expenses, as well as top-shelf health care

coverage.

Last year, republican Congress passed a bill that would have set a flat $200,000 a year

in pension payments and capped other expenses at $200,000 a year per president.

But it hasn't yet been signed into law, but is expected to soon.

The cost of living increases for the pension would be tied to the same formula used to

increase social security benefits.

This sensible proposal means that the $400,000 may not be pocketed by ex-presidents that

earn a lot of money themselves.

When signed, the law will cut pension and expense payments by a dollar for every dollar

that a former president earns above $400,000.

Meaning that they get no money once their earnings eclipse $800,000, which is almost

guaranteed to happen for Obama, considering he'll get half that for a single speech

on the speaking circuit.

The law makes perfect sense, but unsurprisingly, Obama vetoed the legislation when it crossed

his desk.

He claimed he did so because the bill also would have terminated the salaries and benefits

of former presidents' staff, and made it harder for the Secret Service to protect former

presidents.

Needless to say, taxpayers shelling out all this dough for super rich presidents is pretty

annoying.

Obama will make in a single, one-hour speech what most people take a decade to earn.

I think Obama and all the ex-presidents can manage without the pension payments, or at

least the other extraneous allowances they've been receiving.

Trump is asking Congress to readdress the issue and put together a sensible solution.
