Youtube daily report Jun 11 2017

Hi, Clément here

In this video I'll talk about theory

and will explain what's a scale

because we often here talks about scales, arpeggios, chords and this type of things

but concretely what is a scale?

I will explain all of that and show you two diagrams

of the major scale

one changing position the other not

to understand all of what I'll explain you can read the article on the Gypsy Jazz theory

in which I explain all of that, how to build a scale or a chord

you'll have some notions and you will better understand what I'm going to talk about

so, if you haven't read it you can click on the 'i' for info in the top right corner

and then you can come back to this video

So, to explain what's a major scale...

in this video I will talk about major scales

a scale is a set of notes

and these notes are interconnected

by a principle

So, a scale is a set of notes

and these notes have a precise gap

between each notes

for example, the C scale, it is C D E F G A B C, I think you know that

then we have a tone between C and D and between each notes

on the guitar a tone corresponds to two frets, and half a tone to one fret

between C D we have a tone, D E we have one tone

and betwen E and F we have a half tone

then between F and G we have one tone

between G and A we have one tone

A, B one tone

and between B and C we have half a tone

so, in fact this layout of tone and half tone

is what allows you to create the major scale

and if we take as example a minor scale the layout will be different

this is this half tone and tone structure

which makes a scale major or not

and if we shift this structure on the neck in other keys

we would obtain other major scales

so that was to explain to you how to build a scale, it's a set of notes

linked by that notion of note and half note

determined by a few rules

Now that you know what's a scale I will show you the C scale

a first diagram that you can play in one position

So, here I'm just play C D E F G A B C

so that was the first diagram, you can find it in the downloadable PDF

I will explain all of that at the end of the video

so that's the first diagram with this one position I'm playing here on the neck

and I'm playing with one finger per fret

So, of course, that's the diagram at this level of the neck

but we can find it at other spots with other possible fingerings

and I will also show you a second diagram

it's still the C scale, with this one the position changes up

Here, it's the same thing I'm playing C D E F G A B C

but the fingering is a bit different

allowing me to climb up the neck a bit higher

I'm playing it one more time a bit slower

that's the major scale

so, you have two diagrams

one that changes position the other does not

of course you can adapt this diagram

in other keys, for example if you want to play it in G

you can use the exact same diagram

and you will have the G scale

you can for example play the diagram that changes position

from here

and you'll get the A scale

so it's nice to know by heart the diagram

to really know it on the neck

and then work on it in other keys and on other chords

it will allow you to know better the neck

and then be able to improvise on pieces with different keys

you can find these different diagrams

in the PDF, so if you are on Youtube you can click on the description

there is a link leading you to the website apprendre-le-jazz-manouche.com

and at the end of the page you can download the PDF

and if you are already on the website you can go at the end of the page

you can download the PDF there

That's it for this video

if you liked it give it a thumb-up on Youtube

if you have questions, ask away in the comment section on Youtube

FBI screening cuts out some hacker talent - Duration: 4:21.

"How difficult would it be for you to hack into all of my stuff? My social media, anything?"

"Probably not that hard." *laughter*

What John Chase can find on me is really amateur-hour stuff compared to what he's capable of.

He's a hacker. I'm talking about the kind getting calls from the feds after doing something pretty huge. A pro.

John Chase took on ISIS and exposed social media accounts hiding under the radar.

"They put a bounty out for you?"

"Yeah, they did. I don't know that I'd necessarily go to Syria

but as far as walking out my front door I feel pretty safe."

Security and stability isn't really John's thing.

If it was he'd be gunning for government work.

Working for 'The Man' to fight back against cyber attacks.

Oh, wait... He can't do that.

John's got a conviction on his record

and he *may* emphasis on *may* here, occasionally dabble in recreational drugs.

"The government is very unforgiving as far as those things go.

You have to have a perfectly clean slate.

Unfortunately, the people with a perfectly clean slate

aren't necessarily the people who understand how these things are done."

John's what the government calls "Unclearable Talent"

but man, do they need him.

This summer the White House put out a report

basically saying that the Fed's lack of solid cybersecurity talent

hurts our ability to protect ourselves.

"How far behind do you think the U.S. Government is when it comes to cybersecurity

compared to hackers?"

"I would say light years."

Agencies like the FBI aren't exactly falling over themselves to recruit hackers like John.

The one's with a past.

"We're tring to do a better job. We're trying to increase the candidate pool."

"But, yeah, there's that baseline that we're not willing to go below."

This is David Johnson.

When it comes to the FBI and cybersecurity, he's running things. He wants the best.

Thanks to old school thinking by some at the Bureau he's limited to college grads who wear ties and don't smoke dope.

"We're starting to realize

hey maybe we are missing some of these folks and they are highly skilled

and they are really talented and we need to find a way to get them on board."

"You want them on your team?"

"Absolutely."

"Absolutely. Team America."

*laughter* "Team America."

♪America! Fuck yeah!♪

The FBI doesn't operate anything like these guys.

I mean, have you even seen that movie?

♪Fuck yeah!♪

Anyway, the Bureau has rules if you want to wear the badge.

They weed out an astounding number of people.

Johnson says there is some talk about relaxing requirements.

For now it's just talk and a little bit of wishful thinking.

After comments by Director James Comey some thought the

FBI was going to chill its policy on pot smoking.

It didn't.

"I am absolutley dead set against using marijuana.

I don't want young people using marijuana. It's against the law.

we have a three year ban on marijuana. I did not say that I'm going to change that ban. I said I have to grapple with the change in my workforce."

If you want to expand the workforce Uncle Sam is going to have to pony up some serious cash.

Money is one of the biggest hurdles to getting hackers into government work.

"I think the best people are on the Black-Hat side. A lot of that is probably finacial driven.

Obviously, there's a lot more money in committing internet crimes than working for the government."

"But a lot of people would probably forego some of that money if they had the chance to do something good."

"Just some of the work they would have an opportunity to do

is really cool and eye-opening.

Name recognition can't be beat."

The FBI wants people who think one of the biggest perks is saying you work for the FBI. We get it, the brand is the brand.

But hackers like John Chase say they've got to be more open because they believe the best work,

the stuff that brings down banks and cracks into the Russian government is actually being done by people hiding out on the dark web.

"All of the things that are important to me,

my identity, my livelihood, even just the infrastructure like keeping the lights on in this room."

"I want the world's best people protecting that, not some underqualified person who can't pass a urinalysis for marijuana."

Northern Lights And Cyclones On Jupiter | Behind The Space - Duration: 3:04.

A NASA Spacecraft Has Found Northern Lights And Cyclones On Jupiter

Scientists have just published the first results from NASA's Juno spacecraft, which reached

Jupiter last July 2016.

When Juno flew above the clouds, it saw "a chaotic scene" at Jupiter's poles, according

to the first paper's authors.

Time-lapse images show oval-shaped features at the poles, which are cyclones, some as

large as 1,400 kilometres across.

And thermal data also showed that there may be an ammonia-based weather system in Jupiter's

atmosphere.

Before it got up close and personal with the planet, Juno entered Jupiter's magnetosphere

– the region where the gas giant's magnetic field dominates over the sun's magnetic influence

– in June last year.

The second paper shows that Juno documented huge aurorae in ultraviolet and infrared images

of Jupiter's poles – like the northern lights we get on Earth.

Close to the planet, Juno discovered that Jupiter's gravitational field is 10 times

greater Earth's magnetic field, and higher than scientists expected it to be.

The magnetic field data being gathered by Juno could help scientists figure out whether

or not Jupiter has a solid core – something scientists have long suspected but not confirmed

due to the swirling clouds that surround the planet.

Early results are "suggestive" of a solid core, according to more research by the Juno

team published simultaneously in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, but more passes

are needed to be sure.

"Fortunately," the paper says, "the Juno mission is designed to do just that."

Juno reached Jupiter after a five-year, 1.7-billion-mile journey.

It will complete 36 flybys of Jupiter in total.

Among other things, scientists hope the mission will help them figure out more about Jupiter's

internal structure and the planet's atmosphere, including how much water it contains.

Since it arrived it's sent back some new photos of Jupiter in greater detail than we've ever

seen before.

You can see the most recent images from Juno at the mission's website.

The mission is scheduled to end in February 2018.

Well, that's the short news about NASA spacecraft on Jupiter.

The US Just Tested Blowing A North Korean Missile Out Of The Sky - Duration: 3:57.

The US Just Tested Blowing A North Korean Missile Out Of The Sky

The US said that its attempt to destroy a missile capable of reaching North American

cities was a success.

The Pentagon also said that the missile launched on Tuesday is successfully shot a dummy version

of a North Korean missile capable of reaching US cities, the first test of its kind.

"Initial indications are that the test met its primary objective, but program officials

will continue to evaluate system performance based upon telemetry and other data obtained

during the test," the Defense Department's Missile Defense Agency said in a statement

released soon after the test's completion.

The dummy missile tested a ground-based interceptor missile system that aimed to blow up incoming

ballistic missiles in middle part of their flight, according to Missile Defense Agency's

Chris Johnson.

It was the first time the US tested the GBI against an ICBM.

While North Korea doesn't currently have ICBM capability, the reclusive nation has steadily

expanded the range of its missiles in the last decade — and claims it is working on

nuclear-capable and sub-based missiles.

It last test fired what was believed to be a Scud missile on Monday, which traveled 280

miles.

Most US missile tests are designed for offensive missions or to test how the US can help allies.

Tuesday's launch was one of the few such tests that was designed as a defensive measure to

protect the United States, another sign that the US sees North Korea as a growing threat.

"This system is vitally important to the defense of our homeland, and this test demonstrates

that we have a capable, credible deterrent against a very real threat," MDA Director

Navy Vice Adm. Jim Syring said in a statement after Tuesday's test.

Before the the test was conducted, around 3:30 p.m. EDT, officials often described it

as like trying to aim a bullet at another bullet.

The test was the first flight of an improved "kill vehicle" and an improved booster rocket

by the Missile Defense Agency, an $8.3 billion part of the US Department of Defense.

In response to North Korea's improved missiles, the Pentagon has aimed to add to the number

of its intercepter missiles in Alaska and California, bringing the total to 44 by the

end of the year, from the current 36.

The increase comes despite incomplete testing of the system.

"There is a lot of pressure to do something about North Korea but I'm not sure it is building

more intercepter missiles that don't work very well," physicist Laura Grego, of the

Union of Concerned Scientists, told BuzzFeed News.

The intercepter was fired from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and the target

ICBM was launched from Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

ICBM's travel at least 3,400 miles but the test flight covered less distance.

North Korea is presently working on a KN-14 missile, a two-stage projectile that might

develop into one that might threaten the US.

The last such test was three years ago, and the intercepter missiles have a mixed success

rate.

With Tuesday's test, its successor rate now is 50 percent.

Well, that's the short news about The US and North Korea continuation story.

English Tips for Speakers of Indian Languages 33 - to pass out / to graduate (with subtitles) - Duration: 1:57.

Hi there again everyone, and welcome

back to 'One English Tip in One Minute

for Speakers of Indian Languages' where

each week I talk about, in detail, one

common English mistake that people from

India often make, and this is video

number 33.

Hopefully I don't sound like a robot to

you, because I truly do mean it. Nice

going for working to improve your

English. It really is a cool and

admirable thing to do. In these videos

I show you a slide, and on the slide

there are two sentences: One is the

correct way that someone who speaks

English as a mother tongue would say it,

the other is the wrong way that someone

from India might say it. Your task --

should you choose to accept it -- is to

decide which one is correct. Read

through the sentences, pause the video if

you have to, think about your answer and

I will talk about the answer in the

slide that follows this slide.

Again, if you got this wrong

or you just took a wild guess and

happened to get it right, it simply means

that you need to start studying this to

get over it. It's really not that

long of a process. To start you off on

that path I've given you three sentences

you can study from. Study these

sentences in their entirety, review them --

it's very important to review, really get

them into your brain -- and put into

practice what you've learned through

speaking or writing or both. Just

kind of repeat that process until you've

got the bad English out of your head, and

the good English is in your head.

Minecraft: Boss Combat! - Duration: 3:33.

Minecraft: Boss Combat!

#1: The Elder Guardian

Elder Guardians can be found within Ocean Monuments, and prevent you from mining the blocks in the monument.

To kill them, you will need invisibility potions to stay undetected, as well as water breathing potions to avoid drowning.

Milk can be used to cure yourself of Mining Fatigue.

Your armor should have Depth Strider to move underwater faster.

Cornering one will cause it to counterattack. Don't try this!

The laser from Elder Guardians can be quite painful, too.

Elder Guardians drop sponges when killed, one of the rarest blocks in the game.

They can be used to clear large amounts of water.

#2: The Wither

When fighting one, bring powerful weapons. Each Wither can take quite a beating.

Obviously, armor should be brought too. It should have Blast Protection, as the Wither has explosion-based attacks.

Splash Healing Potions can heal you, while damaging the Wither, and Milk can cure the Wither sickness that it inflicts.

Golden Apples should also be brought to the fight, to regenerate health.

You won't find this thing in the wild. Summon it by placing a T of 4 soul sand, then placing 3 wither skulls on the top.

You should preferably summon one in a cave, to prevent it from flying away.

Oh, and quick note: If white particles are surrounding it, you can't hit it with a bow. Don't try it!

Withers drop Nether Stars, which can be used to craft Beacons to provide stat benefits for players.

#3: The Ender Dragon (too large to fit in this room)

It's found in the End, an alternate dimension.

Easily crowned strongest boss in the game, you will primarily need your bow, as well as REALLY good armor.

It hits very hard if you get caught, and launches you into the air, so Feather Falling is a must.

Ender Pearls and temporary blocks should be used to climb up the obsidian pillars healing the dragon and destroy the crystals on top.

Healing items are self-explanatory. Don't want to say this 3 times...

Remember to be fast when climbing the obsidian pillars. The dragon will try to knock you off, and will become more aggressive the more you destroy.

When using splash potions, avoid using them on the Endermen scattered across the map. You don't want powered up enemies, don't you?

Optionally, you can bring bottles to contain the Ender Dragon's acid breath to make potions...

...and Pumpkins can be worn to avoid the attention of Endermen.

Be sure to set your spawn point next to the boss portal so that you can jump right back into the fight.

The Ender Dragon drops the Dragon Egg, the rarest obtainable block in the game. Show it off to your friends!

To obtain it, punch it to teleport it onto destructable land, then place a torch 2 blocks underneath it. Break the block it's on, and you can pick it up!

Ender Crystals can be placed at the edges of the boss exit portal to respawn it.

Don't place them on the diagonal edges, or they won't activate.

Thanks for watching, be sure to leave a like and subscribe!

Derek Brunson destroys Dan Kelly with brutal first round knockout - Duration: 2:23.

Brunson earns his fifth UFC victory by knockout or TKO and he was quick to call for a matchup against submission specialist Antonio Carlos Junior

It was only a week ago where Carlos Junior won his most recent fight and asked for Brunson by name so it appears he might get his wish.

"I'm working my way towards that title shot. Some guy just got a victory last week [Antonio Carlos Junior]

I don't really care about rankings," Brunson said. "You talked trash, let's do it."

Following two straight losses, Derek Brunson had something to prove as he stepped into the Octagon to face Dan Kelly in the co-main event at UFC Fight Night in New Zealand.

Brunson needed less than five minutes and one devastating left hand to get back on track as he finished Kelly in emphatic fashion.

The 33-year old North Carolina native was still feeling the sting from his last fight when he lost a very close

controversial decision to former middleweight champion Anderson Silva so he took out his frustrations on Kelly.

Brunson had worked tirelessly on his striking in the lead up to this fight and he quickly established his right jab

which set up his best power punch coming from the left hand.

Like clockwork, Brunson set up his punches and unloaded a massive left hand that came over the top and connected flush on Kelly's jaw before he crumbled to the mat in a heap

Brunson quickly followed up with a few more shots as the referee rushed into stop the fight before Kelly could take too much damage

The end came at 1:16 into the first round.
