I want to show you. Few Pripyats artefacts.
There is no logic in making separate videos about each of them
So we will walk and I will show them to you
There are two spots
Scoop - the famous one
And small graveyard of machinery. So while I walk I will show you
Those voices that I heard while saying goodbye to you in previous video
I spotted the phone boot
Such canonical with burned paint
Painted from outside in yellow and inside in to blue colour
Phone boot. Even 2 of them
From here citizen of Pripyat or a visitor
Could call as back then mobile phones
were really rare
And here is famous scoop
Here is place where people get crazy
start to climb in to it or on to it
I will now come close to it
and will even measure radiation
levels
but apart from that
it looks brutal

Near to it stands something. I don't even know what it is
Part of some sort of mechanism - a large one
Here is sort of graveyard
In which are left leftovers of equipment
Probably those that couldn't have been taken
Or cant sell it as it has way to high level of radiation
This graveyard is called: Sump of robotics
That took part in liquidation of Chernobyl disaster
Photos that you are now seeing were made in 1998
Last robots disappeared from here in 2005
Now here can be found only parts of them
But the most interesting exposition is left intact
And of course it is the Scoop
Apart from the way it looks it as well has an amazing radioactive background
But what it is and from where it came?
This thing properly is called
Clamshell multi-jaw hydraulic scoop
In our case it is 6jaw scoop
They are used
for capturing and transporting
large quantity of debris, metal scrap and so on
It looks very scary. Our scoop was made in
GDR in city of Peiner
In factory called: Peiner Maschinen- und schraubenwerke AG
Can pick up, up to 1.6m3 of debris
Jaws are moved by hydraulics
Over the hinge of each helix, a hydraulic cylinder is placed
Needed
preasure of oil is created with hydraulic pump
Pump "eats" 3 phases of 380V
And its power is 28kW
Max pressure in system 200atm
Scoop was used in 1987 in disassemble of
radioactive debris in machine room of 4th reactor

Basically that's all that I managed to find

25-26 milliroentgens
Exciting, right?
It is dropping down
If i will remove the lid it will be even more exciting
I removed the lid
With lid of - towards it are flying beta, gama and others
But as it is measuring gama rays
It calculates all spotted particles
as a gama particles
so its not 6 milliroentgens
it is just spotted particles
So lets just take it closer
and see how many particles are flying from there
With such numbers we can burn this device down
258 milliroentgens
Oh
It is possible to hear how it starts to crack
Not crack but make some sounds
Towards Geiger counter
is flaying really small amount, Here it is
As they say kids don't go to Africa for a walk
Don't get in to the scoop

As you take all this mess on your shoes
By the way near this scoop stands a sign of radioactive hazard
Lets check
what it is showing
We dont need to measure the sign

I cant say that it is very exciting
Lets check it in beta range

we have to check it on tracks
