Hello.
This is "Eat Jin Live".
I'm... Never mind.
Suga told me I'd have to wait for the first 1 or 2 minutes.
How many seconds has it been?
25 seconds?
About one minute... Maybe my fans are sleeping.
Hang on. Let me check my phone.
V LIVE is the contents leader for sure.
Let's see.
"We cannot connect to the network".
How come?
There it is.
Hello.
Hold on. Still connecting to the network.
Good.
"'BTS Bon Voyage Season 2' will be released".
Let me monitor it from here.
Hello, everyone. There are 1,400 viewers now.
How much time has passed?
Let me see. I have no idea how much time has passed.
Let's start once I have 5,000 viewers.
I heard the V LIVE notifications don't work well these days.
4,960 viewers. It just soared to 8,287.
Hello, everyone. It's been a while since I did "Eat Jin".
We had the 2nd concert in Saitama today.
I started "Eat Jin" Live and I haven't eaten yet.
I came right away. But it took a while.
I asked, "I'd like to order this hotel's signature dish".
It means, "I'd like to order this hotel's signature dish".
I guess they have four signature dishes.
It's not common.
In an instant, I have 64,000 viewers.
Today's "Eat Jin" menu. To be honest, I have no idea what it is.
The first one is
a sandwich.
The second one.
What is it? It's very good.
Please film this.
It's Nasi goreng.
The third one is
some pasta that I can't name.
Mushroom pasta.
It's mushroom pasta.
The next one is... Oh, I spilled salt. Sorry.
The last one is.
Let me see.
It's curry. Nice.
Japanese curry is famous.
And... What is this?
I'm sorry, everyone. I believe it's passed 11 PM now. At this late hour,
I should get some late-night snack.
There's a reason why I didn't have dinner today. According to the other members,
if I eat something 1 or 2 hours before a concert,
it can make me burp on the stage.
But that never happened to me, actually.
But I bought into it.
I decided not to eat before our performance. But turns out, I was so hungry on the stage.
So that's what happened.
Let me taste this light sandwich first.
This sandwich is... What is this?
Potato?
Nice combination of cheese and cucumber,
as well as tomato and bacon. It's very good.
To be honest, I'm not a fan of cucumbers.
Let me pick it out.
This is one of the most famous menu here.
You might think I'm wasting food, because I ordered a lot.
After this broadcast, I'm going to share the leftovers with our members.
I think they're taking a shower.
It's not like I didn't take a shower because I'm dirty.
I didn't wash up to look more handsome on V LIVE.
Please understand that.
My hair grew quite long. I think it's time to get a haircut.
Choppy bangs.
That was actually cute.
I had that hairstyle when we filmed "Bon Voyage".
I watched the preview of "Bon Voyage".
I felt humiliated when I saw my face.
I've always been confident in my look.
But when I saw my face, I couldn't believe my eyes.
What? I think I heard some noise on my phone.
Anyways,
I wasn't so happy.
So I decided not to do anything with my hair for now.
I like long hair.
Let me try this pasta.
It tastes really...
familiar.
The flavor I've tasted since I was little.
It definitely has some Korean ramen flavor.
Looks like they cooked pasta and sprinkled ramen seasoning.
Ramen seasoning is magical powder, indeed.
You can upgrade the flavor of any dish with ramen seasoning.
It's no exaggeration to say it was invented by a wizard.
And let me tell you what this is. I know a lot of you are curious.
I felt like it was time to hold the heart event during our concert today.
So I suggested we make a big heart.
There was this big fabric. So we cut it.
And we made this, attached it on our shirts.
To make this and attach it on our shirt,
Some staff members helped me out to make this heart.
I asked them, "I'm really sorry, but please do me a favor".
Attaching onto the clothes, cutting it,
Taping it up on the clothes, and sewing.
Anyways, today's event was very successful. It's worth some clapping.
This heart is huge. Let me tell you how I hid it.
I hid it well, because I'm tall.
We made it big as I am tall.
For "Eat Jin" today, I prepared some dad jokes.
It's related to food.
You can't have food offered in Berlin.
Do you know why?
Berlin.
If it's in Berlin, it could be poisonous (capital of Germany).
I'm sorry. But it was a bit funny.
It was a little funny.
I really don't want to do this, but let me explain a little bit.
Berlin is the capital city of Germany.
When you have food in Berlin, it might be poisonous (capital of Germany).
Capial city and poison.
It's a pun.
I'm so embarrassed to explain this to you.
Let's move onto the next menu.
This is Nasi goreng.
I always order this every time I come to this hotel.
This can be called... How can I put this?
When it comes to a face, it's like Kim Seokjin's face.
It's very good.
The shrimp is so plump.
I really like this dish.
Let me try.
I couldn't have oozy yolk until recently.
I went to my friend's restaurant and he recommended to have gooey yolk.
And I liked it.
The shrimp is not just really fresh.
The shrimp is this big.
When I put it in my mouth, it evolves in my mouth.
It becomes this big in my mouth.
As shrimp and rice bring it all together, shrimp gets large.
This hotel serves quite nice dishes.
I really love Nasi goreng in this hotel.
Let me think out of the box and have it with hot sauce.
About 3 drops.
What is this?
Soy sauce.
Good.
Peace.
It's peace. Peaceful union of ingredients.
Once I eat it, rice, bacon, shrimp, and eggs are holding each other together.
This is peaceful union of ingredients.
While the ingredients are putting their arms around each other's shoulders,
hot sauce is the bridge that connects them.
I think it's a great dish.
Let me tell you another dad joke now.
What can't you have in the morning?
You have no idea, right?
The answer is.
What you can't have in the morning is lunch and dinner.
That took you off guard, right? It was a high-level dad joke.
Next up is curry.
I'm wondering if you pour curry.
Do you pour curry over your rice or do you put rice into curry?
I'm suddenly curious about it.
Let me read the comments.
Do you pour curry over the rice?
In the comments...
It's coming up.
A lot of you pour the curry over the rice.
You mix it?
To be honest,
I don't need to be honest here, actually.
But I dip my rice into the curry and eat away.
Then it hits the spot. It's not salty.
How can I put this? I can taste the rich flavor of curry.
The rice gets the proper amout of curry into it.
Yes. I think so.
I like it. In fact, I'm not a big fan of curry.
Despite that, it's pretty good.
I've never expected a sweet flavor in curry.
But this curry is quite sweet and good.
I like Japanese foods.
I wanted to do "Eat Jin" with popular dishes in each country during our overseas tour.
But due to the time difference.
For example, the time difference between America and Korea is 10 hours.
When we eat here, Korean fans might be asleep.
When we're in Asia, including Korea or Japan, people in the other parts of the world are asleep.
I think our best bet is to do it at a halfway point.
I would say this curry is the best.
Jimin posted something on Twitter.
Let's check out our cool guy Jimin's Tweet.
Jimin.
What?
Can you see?
I can't see the comment.
He wrote "#Jimin #Eat Jin".
Like this.
Jimin, if you're watching this, come to my room.
I'm going to have the most famous dish in this hotel.
I'd like to give you the honor of joining me for dinner.
I'll give you 1 minute.
If you come in a minute, I will continue this broadcast.
If you do come in a minute... Where was I?
If you come in a minute, I won't turn this off.
If you don't, I'll turn it off.
Let's use stopwatch.
Timer.
Alright. Go!
As I don't think he would come, let me wrap it up.
Didn't you hear a thud?
Anyways.
I was going to show off my new figurine.
This is the character called, "Whitebeard".
He has the power to create earthquakes as he ate the Tremor-Tremor devil fruit.
Isn't that cool?
I'm going to work out to become muscular like him.
Isn't this cool?
Speaking of the devil fruit.
I'm 26. What kind of devil fruit would I like to have?
I'd like to have... Well...
Time's up.
Let me wrap up my broadcast now.
Bye.

*NEW* Game of Thrones Season 7 Trailer 2 Breakdown - Duration: 13:28.
Whats going on guys, Carmine here and today we'll be taking a look at the brand new Game
of Thrones Trailer from HBO.
This is the second trailer for season 7 and we got a couple of new footage from it.
Some of the scenes I'll be skipping because they were re-used from the first trailer.
We'll also be discussing the second trailer on the next episode of the Game of Thrones
Podcast which will be Aftershow episode 3 so look forward to that.
Also leave your comments and questions below for a follow up Q&A video to the second trailer.
Lets get to it.
The first scene we get in the trailer is of Sansa, still in Winterfell with the weirwood
behind here while Petyr Baelish tells her not to fight in the north or the south but
to fight every battle, everywhere.
I like that, even now, Baelish is still counseling Sansa.
There have been rumors that he doesn't survive past this season which is a shame, if true,
because he has always been the guide that Sansa has needed in her life to get her through
things.
But I do like that even in season 7 he'll be scheming and trying to control things.
Sansa on the other hand is who I'll be focusing on because, when everything is said and done,
I feel like she'll be the very last Stark.
Jon, Bran and Arya are all going to be participating in the final battle with Sansa, once again,
on the sidelines which is fine.
Even if they all go down she'll be the last stark left, which would be disappointing but
deserved.
Sansa has never really been at the forefront of House Stark and after everything shes been
through and learned, it'll be good to see her with some power, kicking ass and taking
names.
Next up we have a scene beyond the wall, it looks like Bran and Meera are entering Castle
Black.
You can tell its them because she has to keep dragging him on that sled.
Now Meera has been an interesting character for me and there have been rumors that once
she leaves Bran off at Winterfell, that we won't see her til season 8 which is fine but
I was hoping for a kind of Bran and Meera relationship thing going on but I understand
why its not.
Bran is still suppose to be like...12 or 13.
Keep in mind that its only been 3 years since season 1 so he is suppose to be a little kid
but puberty hit this guy look a ton of bricks.
I swear, last season, I saw some chest hair and a mustache.
But I will miss Meera, even though she doesn't do too much and isn't as beloved as Hodor
but she does add something to Bran's group but once again, I get why she has to go.
Bran is going back to Winterfell and all the Starks are converging yet again so Bran doesn't
really need his own group.
Hopefully she does show back up next season with some soldiers from House Reed to back
up everybody else.
Next up we get a quick shot of King's Landing and it looks like they're fully embracing
the Lannisters with some banners all over the city.
Some of us already know who it is the gold cloaks are escorting through the city but
for those of you who don't then I won't say it here.
After that we cut back to Dany over at Dragonstone.
In the first trailer I thought that she was using Stannis' war room table as her own but
it looks like when Stannis left Dragonstone he left behind a lot of his own things, including
the little map markers and even his own banner which she takes down.
I will say I'm still mad that Dany doesn't have her own red priestess,
which we saw last season in the form of Kinvara.
If you recall, Kinvara is the one who spoke to Tyrion in Mereen and spooked Varys a little
in their first meeting.
I really wanted Dany to have her own red priestess like Stannis and not be swayed so easily like
he was.
I want that as a contrast between those two.
Like....for 5 seasons Stannis has been persuaded to accept the Lord of Light's ways and we've
seen that and then we get Dany and she is having none of that crap.
It would've been nice and who knows maybe we'll get it because in the last trailer we
saw Melisandre back on Dragonstone for some reason.
We also get some nice shots of the dragons flying towards dragonstone and Greyworm heading
towards some cave.
Now this could be the same cave that Melisandre and Davos used to have Renly killed.
If that is the case then maybe I'll get my wish after all and Dany will be taking Storm's
End.
As a Baratheon fan I'm excited for this because we'll finally see what Storm's End looks like
and you guys know me, I'm a sucker for awesome locations and cool buildings.
But if this turned out to be Casterly Rock, the Lannister main castle, I'd be just as
happy.
Tyrion was in charge of the sewers at Casterly Rock when he and his father still lived there
so its possible that he knows some secret entrance way into the castle.
So this could also be Castely Rock that the Unsullied are sneaking into.
Who knows, either way I'm excited.
Then we get another shot of Podrick and Captain Phasma.
I wasn't a big fan of Brienne for the past two seasons, mainly because she has been kinda
sidelined a bit but that's to be expected.
She's in Star Wars now and she is very busy....you know....being in Star Wars for less than 3
minutes.
Reeaaal busy.
Seriously though Brienne hasn't done anything cool since the beginning of season 5 when
she beat up those Knights of the Vale.
Hopefully she, and Podrick, will be doing more but I that is highly unlikely.
Brienne's goal is to be Sansa's protector and errand girl.
I doubt we'll be seeing Brienne do much other than interacting with Tormund and Arya.
I do hope we get a Hound reunion though.
That'd be cool.
You know between Brienne, Arya and the Hound.
That'd be sweet.
And speaking of the Hound, if you blink you'll miss it.
He appears VERY briefly in the trailer twice.
Once in the snow and once in a sunny location not wearing a coat.
Its possible that this is during a King's Landing scene because we do see a Lannister
soldier in the background in a ruins.
So....possibly the dragon pit in King's Landing which use to be a thing back during Targaryen
rule but is now in ruins of course.
But wait a minute...if the Hound is in King's Landing....does that mean we'll finally be
getting Cleganebowl?
ooooh shiiiit.
Get hyped.
No seriously that would be great.
Both of them died and are now born again in different ways.
I love it.
I would really love cleganebowl but if I know these cockteasing showrunners, and I think
I do, they'll probably just give us a small hint of it and not deliver.
Those Bastards.
But we'll have to see.
Next up we have some cool shots of the Lannisters soldiers going up against the dothraki.
We may not get the unsullied going into phalanx formation but the these guys will and it'll
be interesting to see how the dothraki fare against trained soldiers in formation with
armor and spears.
The main thing the dothraki have going for them, much like the ironborn is that they're
good in hit and run raids.
In the field it'd be interesting because there are so many of them and they all have horses
so its a bit of a toss up.
They're more into overwhelming their foes with numbers and fast attacks but one on one?
against a seasoned knight? they wouldn't be able to do much.
Remember what happened when Jorah fought against one of Khal Drogo's men back in season 1?
Jorah wasn't fast but his defense was good enough to deliver a killing blow.
It'll be interesting but what really gives them an edge is the dragon.
That always turns the tide of any battle.
I mean...if you've played Total War: Warhammer like I have...then you'll know that a dragon
means the difference between winning comfortably to what the fuck just happened.
So...yeah.
I also love the shot we get of Jaime charging in there and it looks like he almost got roasted
by a dragon and wants to go in there and take it down.
If anything hes got balls...which may or may not be made of gold but w/e.
Next up we have some shots of many ravens or crows, w/e you want, flying over the Night's
King, possibly Bran controlling them to scout out the scope of his army and where they are.
I like this because it gives Bran a lot of importance, not just as a character but as
a war potential.
And when I say war potential I mean people who're essential to winning the final battle.
This includes people who're intelligent, like Sam and Tyrion and people who carry Valyrian
Steel swords like Brienne and Jon.
Bran now possess some amount of skill to do more than just show us some cool flashbacks.
I love this and I also love how he has a wheelchair now.
All he needs to do is shave off his hair and we'll have the Game of Thrones version of
Professor X. Nice....very nice.
And this would be fitting because Sansa is obviously Jean Grey and Tormund can be beast
while Brienne can be Colossus.
Holy shit....I think we have almost all the X-Men now.
Somebody photoshop them all together and make this happen.
Also there is one more person with Bran...it could be Davos, it could be some random maester
or it could be the three eyed raven.
He is suppose to be dead but maybe he left a bit of his mind inside Bran's mind?
And maybe Bran is seeing him whenever he touches a weirwood tree? it'd be interesting to have
that and kinda cool.
I always enjoyed their discussions so it'd be nice to have more of that
Next up we have some more shots of the ironborn fleet heading towards King's Landing and of
Euron doing some work.
I always respect a leader who goes in there and does the fighting along with the troops.
Damn straight Euron, make the Iron Islands great again buddy.
We also get the last confirmation that it is Euron who is attacking Yara's fleet.
Now I can't tell who this is, running out there and jumping with a bow in hand but its
possibly Yara fighting back though I doubt she gets away considering in the last trailer
she and Ellaria are somehow together going all lesbian on each other.
So its possible that she does get captured but I hope she doesn't go out like a punk.
I do like Yara's character and its a shame we don't see more of her but hopefully this
season will give her more to do.
I'm also happy that the Ironborn aren't taking a backseat this season and will be in there
with the bulk of the fighting.
This is good, now if only the Dornish and the Tyrell soldiers got in on this then I'd
be incredibly happy with season 7.
And finally we get Jon Snow, Davos and even Beric Dondarion beyond the wall for some reason,
there have been rumors that they are going beyond the wall to find proof of the white
walker threat and bring it back to everyone so they can all unite.
now...this is a large plot hole because this has been done before.
When the wights attacked Jeor Mormont back in season 1, Jon killed it and, correct me
if I'm wrong, Alliser Thorne was sent to King's Landing to show Joffrey the hand of the wight
that attacked him.
This was in season 1 episode 9.
It's why we don't see Thorne until season 4.
I don't know if it is ever explained why Thorne never made it to King's Landing or if he did
and got sent away but this has happened before.
Hopefully it gets cleared up.
In the books this is actually cleared up but we'll go into that later on in the Game of
Thrones Podcast.
But I am really enjoying the preview we're getting from their beyond the wall trip.
The Fellowship of Winter is what I'm calling them #fellowshipofwinter We got the Hound,
Beric, Davos, Jon Snow, and possibly Thoros of Myr.
Now all we need is a wise cracking dwarf, a wise cracking sellsword and a man with no
cock and we have the Game of Thrones version of the Avengers.
No seriously though this trailer has got me excited.
Beric is taking out his flaming sword which does make him a war potential and we'll be
getting ANOTHER White Walker fight and a Dawn of the Dead type scene where the frost zombies
are all running towards our small group.
One thing we never do see is horror in our fantasy and I like that Game of Thrones dances
around that.
Its a nice touch of pace from all the boobs and dragons to get what we got last season
when the Night's King invades the 3 eyed raven sanctuary.
I like it and its always good to sprinkle some different genres in this show to give
us a bit more of everything.
But overall the trailer was fantastic.
There was no signs of Sam or any new characters we might be getting but you do get a sense
of that...we're almost at the end.
I like it.
I left some things out so we can discuss them later on the podcast which will be out sometime
next week so look forward to that.
But guys let me know what you thought about the trailer? did it show too much? did it
show too little? because these kinds of things can happen in a trailer.
I mean...look at Terminator Genesis.
The entire plot of the movie was spoiled in their trailers so it kinda fell flat.
Did HBO commit this sin just now? or was it just right?
But Leave your thoughts and questions below and I'll be discussing them in a follow up
video, possibly tomorrow.
Once again guys thank you so much for watching, as always leave a like if you enjoyed the
video, subscribe if you haven't and consider supporting me on patreon, for one dollar all

its everywhere else.
Once again thank you so much for watching and I'll see you next time: Baba Booey

Story of Legion, Quick Recap as we go into the Tomb of Sargeras [Lore] - Duration: 4:23.
So you've come back since the Tomb of Sargeras has finally opened up and you're wondering
what you might have missed?
Say no more, this is a quick recap of the story in Legion so far.
"You made a pact"
Alternate Gul'dan is send over by Archimonde to our Azeroth and opens the gateway at the
Tomb of Sargeras.
Many legion troops came out, many people died, we got our asses kicked at the broken shore.
Magni Bronzebeard has come back as a crystal, now known as the speaker, being the mouth
piece for the titan spirit inside of azeroth.
He points us towards the Pillars of Creation which we can use to seal of that gateway at
the tomb of sargeras.
if we're able to collect them.
The Alliance and Horde failed pretty hard so heroes of Azeroth decided to put their
faith in their classes instead, forming different order halls and naming only 1 their grand
leader, 1 to wield the artifacts of legend in this war against the legion and when they
say 1...they mean every single player in the game because that is what makes it special.
"And when everyone's super...giggle...no one will be."
In azsuna we got the pillar of creation called the Tidestone of Golganeth by helping out
the blue dragonflight in the area and prince Farondis, a night elf spirit that had some
trouble with Queen Azshara and got his people cursed, but after the events in that zone,
the now like him.
In Val'Sharah we got the tears of Elune by taking down Ysera and fighting back against
Xavius and the Emerald Nightmare.
In Highmountain we got the Hammer of Khaz'garoth by helping out the tauren and taking on Dargrul
the Underking in Neltharion's lair.
In Stormheim we got the Aegis of Aggramar after proving ourselves time and time and
time and time and time again to Odyn and taking on the god-king skovald who pledged his allegiance
to the Legion.
The final pillar is the eye of aman'thul which we obtained by helping out the Nightborne
with kicking the Legion out of their city and finally taking out alternate Gul'dan.
Some believe that that's enough, that sealing the gateway will save us all and that will
be the end of it, but some have seen the truth.
There was the image of medivh or perhaps Medivh himself while we returned to karazhan, who
told us that sometimes you need to step through the door.
And then there's also Illidan, you might remember him from the burninc crusade, the
guy that we killed at the top of the black temple...
Yeah he's not really dead, his spirit went to the twisting nether and his body was imprisoned
within the vault of the wardens.
Just before we took him out, he send his illidari, his demon hunters out to claim the sargerite
keystone, a key to all worlds including Argus, home base of the Legion.
His body as well as most of his demon hunters were stored within the vault of the wardens
which the Legion attacked to steal his body and they planned to put something else in
it.
His demon hunters recovered the sargerite keystone, we got Illidan's spirit back,
put it into his body and now he's ready to take the battle to the Legion, although
so far all he has really done is flirting with Maiv Shadowsong which I am perfectly
oke with.
"Did you really think you could alude me Illidan?
Run again and I'll shackle you like the beast you are."
"Posture if you must Maiev, but for now...do what you do best and follow me."
Odyn screwed over Helya which in turn lead to her screwing him over, but we helped out
the titan keeper by proving ourselves once again and taking out Helya, lifting the magic
she placed upon the halls of valor and setting odyn and his troops free.
So at this point we have the pillars, we have the allies and we have Illidan and his demon
hunters all collected to return to where we got our asses kicked, to return to the Broken
shore and the tomb of sargeras.
The Legion continued their efforts by invading different regions of the Broken Isles, but
nothing we couldn't handle.
Our sexy artifacts, weapons of incredible power were made even more incredible while
the Mage Tower offered great challenges to the heroes of azeroth to earn sexy new skins
for the weapon.
While some might say that it was too difficult, others simply think you need to get gud.
While riding into battle to the tomb of sargeras, you can't do it on any regular old mount,
unique class mounts were obtained by the leaders of the order halls, some look pretty awesome,
look some alright and some are the mage flying fidget spinners, but don't worry though,
your mount will look the worst, atleast according to the forums.
While dealing with the Legion, we can't expect the world to simply stand still and
it's our beloved chromie that needs some help with fixing the timeline and that's
pretty much the story leading into the Tomb of Sargeras.
Our gathered forces are going to take on what ever the former temple of Elune might hold.
There you go, that's the story up till now.
Enjoy raiding the tomb of sargeras everybody and until next time guys....see ya!

Why You Need to Pay Close Attention to Iran and Saudi Arabia - Duration: 5:08.
I see this in the comments and I see it all over the Internet you guys are sick
of hearing about what's going on in the Middle East whether it's the absolute
mess that's going on in Syria or ascending thousands of more troops to
bolster the situation in Afghanistan or that whole confusion that's going on
surrounding Qatar we don't want to hear about it anymore because our country
here at home is broken so that's what we want to focus on what's going on here
but that's exactly what Washington wants whether it's Republicans or Democrats
they don't want you focusing on what's going on in the Middle East just the
other day we shot down a Syrian plane a russian-backed Syrian plane we also shot
down an Iranian drone and their reports that we put a missile launcher in Syria
know we're close to Isis troops that are right near Iranian back Syrian forces it
looks like we're trying to pick a fight with Iran and your government doesn't
want you to know about it well why would we want to pick a fight with Iran I mean
President Obama right before he left office opened up talks with Iran but you
know what go look online the corporate media hated it and Iran is a close ally
with Russia so they hate that too so that's all this is it's just an attempt
to fight with Russia we're already blaming Russia for faking
information that's surrounding Qatar the information that says they supported
terrorist organizations that led to a blockade from Saudi Arabia and now Iran
still remains friendly to Qatar that of course pisses off Saudi Arabia when
we're picking a fight with Russia v Iran their close ally and then we're trying
to provoke Saudi Arabia to fight Iran Saudi Arabia just allegedly arrested
Iranian troops that were trying to attack oil rigs shots were fired and an
Iranian was killed Iran says it was a fisherman Saudi
Arabia says it was a soldier but it's all a mess over there of course it's no
coincidence that we sold 110 billion dollars in weapons to Saudi Arabia of
course to hedge our bets we sent f50 to Qatar we are trying to start a new
regional proxy war supposedly over this tiny little country of Qatar but if all
of that wasn't enough Rex Tillerson the Secretary of State said that the new US
policy towards Iran is for a peaceful transition of that government in
American terms that typically means regime change or war whether it was when
we went after Saddam in Iraq or it was NATO's efforts in Libya or Yugoslavia
regime change always means war no matter what we call it thousands will die as we

Why THIS Country Has The Deadliest Skin Cancer - Duration: 4:38.
Goodday everyone!
For certain, we all know of someone who has suffered from cancer.
It's among the leading causes of death worldwide, with skin cancer being one of the most common
at more than 3 million cases reported globally each year.
[SCIQ INTRO]
Let's put that in perspective:
Here in the states in 2010, 74,000 Americans were diagnosed with cancer of the skin.
That same year, the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare released a study revealing
that we Aussies have the highest rate of melanoma, and one of the highest overall rates of cancer
– in the WORLD.
At the time, more than 100,000 cases of skin cancer were reported in the country.
74,000 in the giant United States with its huge populations but 100,000 in tiny Australia
Fast forward to today: According to the Cancer Council of Australia, 134,000 Australians
are gonna be diagnosed with skin cancer by the end of this year, and 150,000 by 2020.
That's more than DOUBLE the rate of the U.S., who in 2017 is expected to have only
about 87,000 cases.
Numbers for BOTH countries have gone up, but why are we Aussies getting skin cancer at
a higher rate than anyone else?
Is it because we love the sun, live by the beach, and are always down to play rugby and
AFL footy and a game of netty (whispers: netball)?
So basically, our addiction to sports why we get cancer?
Or is it that we came from English and European stock, and our fair skin is not made for the
harsh Australian climate?
Well, the answer is no, and not really – and actually the answer is much more terrifying!
See - right now, there is a massive freaking hole in the earth's ozone layer.
You know the hole that lets the harmful UV rays in from the sun?
ya, that one.
And where is that hole located?
Right over Antarctica.
Cold, right?
Well, hot, rather… because that massive gaping hole in the ozone layer creates an
increased exposure to the effects of the sun's UV radiation, and as we know... overexposure
to the sun is a contributing factor to skin cancer in particular.
The harmful effects of those rays are so strong that even in Australia, 7,246 km or 4,502
miles away, we are affected by the hole in the ozone layer.
Now, this doesn't mean that scientists have discovered in their research that everyone
in Australia has now, all of a sudden, developed cancer – or will in the future.
Chlorofluorocarbons , or CFCs, which used to be found in aerosol spray cans—were released
into the atmosphere until they were banned in 1996.
However, even decades later these gases, through several chemical reactions, have caused the
ozone's molecules to break down, reducing its capacity to absorb UV rays.
It took us a while to catch onto the fact that the products we were using were destroying
the ozone.
And it took us an equally long time--decades worth of emitting chlorofluorocarbons into
the atmosphere--before we got ourselves together and banned them.
But, good news Last year, more than 30 years after scientists
first spotted the hole in the atmosphere's protective ozone, measurements taken last
year showed that the ozone hole has shrunk by more than 1.5 million square miles--that's
about half of the continental United States.
So that means the hole in the ozone layer is healing and thats all happned since the
year 2000.
So things are getting better.
But even though thats good news, I now have some bad news.
There are still people not only in Australia, but all over the world, who are suffering
as a result of what I like to call "Human Caused Climate Instability," or what we
currently know as "Climate Change."
Check out the link to my other video on climate change here
That's completely Insane, right?
If we can get together and ban CFC's so that countries don't have to suffer we can do the
same for climate change
So… what do you think we should do now that we've banned CFCs and the hole in the ozone
is slowly receding?
Do you think that the ability to get together the global community will help us in the future?
Is there anything more that we can do to stop those poor Aussies from getting struck down
with skin cancer?

Underappreciated Thrillers You Need To Watch On Netflix - Duration: 6:42.

Netflix has you covered.
The streaming service has quite a few thrillers that'll get your adrenaline going or send
a shiver up your spine.
But instead of watching some of the more mainstream movies online, why not check out something
a little more obscure?
How about ...
Backcountry
Like Deliverance or The Blair Witch Project before it, Backcountry will make you think
twice before taking a walk in the woods.
Like its forebearers, this 2015 flick features folks who decide to spend a weekend in the
forest, even though they're certified city slickers.
"Where is it?"
"In the car."
"Why would you do that?"
"I didn't want you on that thing the whole time we were here."
Soon, the two find themselves map-less, phone-less and lost in the woods, and it doesn't help
matters knowing there's another hiker nearby who seems kind of dangerous.
But really, he's the least of their problems, considering they're also being stalked by
a man-eating black bear …
Blue Caprice
On October 2, 2002, a man was shot to death in the parking lot of a Maryland grocery store.
It was the first killing in a three-week long murder spree that would claim ten lives in
the Washington D.C. area.
The terror came to an end when police arrested two snipers who'd been shooting their way
across the U.S. for months, leaving a total of 17 bodies in their wake.
2013's ripped-from-the-headlines Blue Caprice takes place in the months leading up to the
shootings, focusing on the twisted relationship between the snipers, John Allen Muhammad and
Lee Boyd Malvo.
Abandoned by his mom, the teenage Malvo gravitates toward the manipulative Muhammad, who takes
the boy under his wing.
But in exchange for a father figure, Malvo agrees to help Muhammad enact his homicidal
plan.
"I did it"
Cold in July
It starts off like a typical revenge flick about a man caught in the crosshairs of an
angry ex-con.
But about midway through, 2014's Cold in July takes such a hard left turn that it becomes
a completely different beast.
"Don't you have any mirrors on this damn Pinto?
Do you know how to use it?
Who's gonna pay for it?
We could split it ..."
Richard Dane, played by Dexter's Michael C. Hall, is in a tricky situation after accidentally
killing a burglar who's broken into his home.
Things get worse when he discovers that the crook's dad is one bad dude.
At first, Cold in July plays like a cat-and-mouse game between the two, but our hero soon realizes
there's a conspiracy afoot, and he's a pawn in a much larger scheme.
The Double
If you're a fan of Jesse Eisenberg, well, 2013's The Double is definitely the movie
for you: it's got two Eisenbergs for the price of one.
Based on the novella by Dostoyevsky, The Double follows a young office worker named Simon
James, a guy beaten down by the system.
He's nervous, shy, and ignored by everyone, including Hannah, the girl of his dreams.
"Hannah, the creepy guy's here again."
"Hi, Creepy Guy."
His life gets turned upside down when a man named James Simon becomes his co-worker.
James is Simon's exact opposite in almost every way.
Simon is introverted, while James is outgoing.
Simon is full of self-doubt, whereas James is confidence personified.
Of course, the two men do share one eerie similarity: they look exactly alike, a fact
that no one else seems to notice.
Unfortunately, the creepy resemblance allows James to completely invade Simon's life, but
everybody's got a breaking point, and Simon eventually decides it's time to stand his
ground, whatever the consequences.
"He stole my face!"
"You need to leave."
"No, you do.
Get off of me!
"Arrgh!"
Frailty
The late great actor Bill Paxton also dabbled in directing, with a 2005 golfing flick starring
Shia LaBeouf called The Greatest Game Ever Played, and the 2001 thriller Frailty, a terrifying
portrait of religion gone wrong that dances on the fine line between "thriller" and "horror."
In addition to calling the shots behind the camera, Paxton also played a loving father
who becomes an axe murderer after God supposedly orders him to rid the world of demons…demons
that look like humans.
But he isn't going to fight the forces of evil by himself.
Believing he's truly a divine warrior, he recruits his two sons—one who's totally
on board, and another who think his dad has gone mad.
"We don't fear these demons.
We destroy them.
We pick them up, one by one, and we pitch them out of this world."
While ultimately more thriller than horror, be warned: the film does involve a whole lot
of head-chopping, body-burying, and disturbing scenes of child abuse.
"God saw you.
"Dad no!
Please!"
"And you can't escape God's wrath!"
The Imposter
A true story of a creepy con man that will leave your mind reeling when the credits start
to role, 2012's The Imposter is the rare documentary that also works as a pulse-pounding thriller.
"I didn't give a damn what other people were thinking and what they were feeling.
I care about myself."
The less you know about the part documentary, part staged thriller the better—but here's
a taste: The Imposter tells the story of a French criminal who posed as a missing Texas
teen and convinced the boy's family that he was their long-lost relative—even though
he was too old, had a French accent, and the wrong hair and eye color.
How?
You'll have to watch and find out.
"A story so bizarre it's hard to believe it's true."
"I mean, seriously?"
The Invitation
We've all been invited to some pretty weird parties, but none compare to the ultra-creepy
affair in 2016's The Invitation.
It all starts when quiet, brooding Will shows up for dinner at his ex-wife's house.
She's back in the States after getting remarried in Mexico and wants to get together with the
old gang—including Will, who's still struggling with their loss of their son.
So maybe that's why Will starts acting so strangely once he arrives at the party.
Or maybe there's something rotten going on in the Hollywood Hills.
"We chose you, because you matter to us."
"You chose me?"
"To be here, tonight."
After all, why are there bars on all the windows?
Why is the front door locked?
As the evening unwinds, Will finds himself battling a sneaking suspicion that something
terrible is about to happen, all while battling his own emotional breakdown.
We Need to Talk About Kevin
The 2011 domestic thriller We Need to Talk About Kevin focuses on Tilda Swinton's Eva
and her son Kevin.
To say they don't get along would be an understatement.
"I don't give a rat's ass."
Kevin is an absolute monster — a budding psychopath who charms the world into thinking
he's a normal kid.
But when he's alone with his mom, that's when we see the teen's true sadistic side, a darkness
that's been growing ever since Kevin was an infant.
"Then finally once you've sucked up that entire bottle of wine, you can go all gooey-eyed
and say how nice it is to spend quality time together."
His downward spiral divides Eva and her husband as it becomes increasingly clear what Kevin
is truly capable of.
"There is no point.
That's the point."

Integrated Circuits & Moore's Law: Crash Course Computer Science #17 - Duration: 13:50.
This episode is brought to you by Curiosity Stream.
Hi, I'm Carrie Anne, and welcome to CrashCourse Computer Science!
Over the past six episodes, we delved into software, from early programming efforts to
modern software engineering practices.
Within about 50 years, software grew in complexity from machine code punched by hand onto paper
tape, to object oriented programming languages, compiled in integrated development environments.
But this growth in sophistication would not have been possible without improvements in hardware.
INTRO
To appreciate computing hardware's explosive growth in power and sophistication, we need
to go back to the birth of electronic computing.
From roughly the 1940's through the mid-1960s, every computer was built from individual parts,
called discrete components, which were all wired together.
For example, the ENIAC, consisted of more than 17,000 vacuum tubes, 70,000 resistors,
10,000 capacitors, and 7,000 diodes, all of which required 5 million hand-soldered connections.
Adding more components to increase performance meant more connections, more wires, and just
more complexity, what was dubbed the Tyranny of Numbers.
By the mid 1950s, transistors were becoming commercially available and being incorporated
into computers.
These were much smaller, faster and more reliable than vacuum tubes, but each transistor was
still one discrete component.
In 1959, IBM upgraded their vacuum-tube-based "709" computers to transistors by replacing
all the discrete vacuum tubes with discrete transistors.
The new machine, the IBM 7090, was six times faster and half the cost.
These transistorized computers marked the second generation of electronic computing.
However, although faster and smaller, discrete transistors didn't solve the Tyranny of
Numbers.
It was getting unwieldy to design, let alone physically manufacture computers with hundreds
of thousands of individual components.
By the the 1960s, this was reaching a breaking point.
The insides of computers were often just huge tangles of wires.
Just look at what the inside of a PDP-8 from 1965 looked like!
The answer was to bump up a new level of abstraction, and package up underlying complexity!
The breakthrough came in 1958, when Jack Kilby, working at Texas Instruments, demonstrated
such an electronic part, "wherein all the components of the electronic circuit are completely
integrated."
Put simply: instead of building computer parts out of many discrete components and wiring
them all together, you put many components together, inside of a new, single component.
These are called Integrated Circuits, or ICs.
A few months later in 1959, Fairchild Semiconductor, lead by Robert Noyce, made ICs practical.
Kilby built his ICs out of germanium, a rare and unstable material.
But, Fairchild used the abundant silicon, which makes up about a quarter of the earth's crust!
It's also more stable, therefore more reliable.
For this reason, Noyce is widely regarded as the father of modern ICs, ushering in the
electronics era... and also Silicon Valley, where Fairchild was based and where many other
semiconductor companies would soon pop up.
In the early days, an IC might only contain a simple circuit with just a few transistors,
like this early Westinghouse example.
But even this allowed simple circuits, like the logic gates from Episode 3, to be packaged
up into a single component.
ICs are sort of like lego for computer engineers "building blocks" that can be arranged
into an infinite array of possible designs.
However, they still have to be wired together at some point to create even bigger and more
complex circuits, like a whole computer.
For this, engineers had another innovation: printed circuit boards, or PCBs.
Instead of soldering and bundling up bazillions of wires, PCBs, which could be mass manufactured,
have all the metal wires etched right into them* to connect components together.
By using PCBs and ICs together, one could achieve exactly the same functional circuit
as that made from discrete components, but with far fewer individual components and tangled
wires.
Plus, it's smaller, cheaper and more reliable.
Triple win!
Many early ICs were manufactured using teeny tiny discrete components packaged up as a
single unit, like this IBM example from 1964.
However, even when using really really itty-bitty components, it was hard to get much more than
around five transistors onto a single IC.
To achieve more complex designs, a radically different fabrication process was needed that
changed everything: Photolithography!
In short, it's a way to use light to transfer complex patterns to a material, like a semiconductor.
It only has a few basic operations, but these can be used to create incredibly complex circuits.
Let's walk through a simple, although extensive example, to make one of these!
We start with a slice of silicon, which, like a thin cookie, is called a wafer.
Delicious!
Silicon, as we discussed briefly in episode 2, is special because it's a semiconductor,
that is, a material that can sometimes conduct electricity and other times does not.
We can control where and when this happens, making Silicon the perfect raw material for
making transistors.
We can also use a wafer as a base to lay down complex metal circuits, so everything is integrated,
perfect for... integrated circuits!
The next step is to add a thin oxide layer on top of the silicon, which acts as a protective
coating.
Then, we apply a special chemical called a photoresist.
When exposed to light, the chemical changes, and becomes soluble, so it can be washed away
with a different special chemical.
Photoresists aren't very useful by themselves, but are super powerful when used in conjunction
with a photomask.
This is just like a piece of photographic film, but instead of a photo of a hamster
eating a tiny burrito, it contains a pattern to be transferred onto the wafer.
We do this by putting a photomask over the wafer, and turning on a powerful light.
Where the mask blocks the light, the photoresist is unchanged.
But where the light does hit the photoresist it changes chemically which lets us wash away
only the photoresist that was exposed to light, selectively revealing areas of our oxide layer.
Now, by using another special chemical, often an acid, we can remove any exposed oxide,
and etch a little hole the entire way down to the raw silicon.
Note that the oxide layer under the photoresist is protected.
To clean up, we use yet another special chemical that washes away any remaining photoresist.
Yep, there are a lot of special chemicals in photolithography, each with a very specific
function!
So now we can see the silicon again, we want to modify only the exposed areas to better
conduct electricity.
To do that, we need to change it chemically through a process called: doping.
I'm not even going to make a joke.
Let's move on.
Most often this is done with a high temperature gas, something like Phosphorus, which penetrates
into the exposed area of silicon.
This alters its electrical properties.
We're not going to wade into the physics and chemistry of semiconductors, but if you're
interested, there's a link in the description to an excellent video by our friend Derek
Muller from Veritasium.
But, we still need a few more rounds of photolithography to build a transistor.
The process essentially starts again, first by building up a fresh oxide layer ...which
we coat in photoresist.
Now, we use a photomask with a new and different pattern, allowing us to open a small window
above the doped area.
Once again, we wash away remaining photoresist.
Now we dope, and avoid telling a hilarious joke, again, but with a different gas that
converts part of the silicon into yet a different form.
Timing is super important in photolithography in order to control things like doping diffusion
and etch depth.
In this case, we only want to dope a little region nested inside the other.
Now we have all the pieces we need to create our transistor!
The final step is to make channels in the oxide layer so that we can run little metal
wires to different parts of our transistor.
Once more, we apply a photoresist, and use a new photomask to etch little channels.
Now, we use a new process, called metalization, that allows us to deposit a thin layer of
metal, like aluminium or copper.
But we don't want to cover everything in metal.
We want to etch a very specific circuit design.
So, very similar to before, we apply a photoresist, use a photomask, dissolve the exposed resist,
and use a chemical to remove any exposed metal.
Whew!
Our transistor is finally complete!
It has three little wires that connect to three different parts of the silicon, each
doped a particular way to create, in this example, what's called a bipolar junction transistor.
Here's the actual patent from 1962, an invention that changed our world forever!
Using similar steps, photolithography can create other useful electronic elements, like
resistors and capacitors, all on a single piece of silicon (plus all the wires needed
to hook them up into circuits).
Goodbye discrete components!
In our example, we made one transistor, but in the real world, photomasks lay down millions
of little details all at once.
Here is what an IC might look like from above, with wires crisscrossing above and below each
other, interconnecting all the individual elements together into complex circuits.
Although we could create a photomask for an entire wafer, we can take advantage of the
fact that light can be focused and projected to any size we want.
In the same way that a film can be projected to fill an entire movie screen, we can focus
a photomask onto a very small patch of silicon, creating incredibly fine details.
A single silicon wafer is generally used to create dozens of ICs.
Then, once you've got a whole wafer full, you cut them up and package them into microchips,
those little black rectangles you see in electronics all the time.
Just remember: at the heart of each of those chips is one of these small pieces of silicon.
As photolithography techniques improved, the size of transistors shrunk, allowing for greater
densities.
At the start of the 1960s, an IC rarely contained more than 5 transistors, they just couldn't
possibly fit.
But, by the mid 1960s, we were starting to see ICs with over 100 transistors on the market.
In 1965, Gordon Moore could see the trend: that approximately every two years, thanks
to advances in materials and manufacturing, you could fit twice the number of transistors
into the same amount of space.
This is called Moore's Law.
The term is a bit of a misnomer though.
It's not really a law at all, more of a trend.
But it's a good one.
IC prices also fell dramatically, from an average of $50 in 1962 to around $2 in 1968.
Today, you can buy ICs for cents.
Smaller transistors and higher densities had other benefits too.
The smaller the transistor, the less charge you have to move around, allowing it to switch
states faster and consume less power.
Plus, more compact circuits meant less delay in signals resulting in faster clock speeds.
In 1968, Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore teamed up and founded a new company, combining the
words Integrated and Electronics...
Intel... the largest chip maker today.
The Intel 4004 CPU, from Episodes 7 and 8, was a major milestone.
Released in 1971, it was the first processor that shipped as an IC, what's called a microprocessor,
because it was so beautifully small!
It contained 2,300 transistors.
People marveled at the level of integration, an entire CPU in one chip, which just two
decades earlier would have filled an entire room using discrete components.
This era of integrated circuits, especially microprocessors, ushered in the third generation
of computing.
And the Intel 4004 was just the start.
CPU transistor count exploded!
By 1980, CPUs contained 30 thousand transistors.
By 1990, CPUs breached the 1 million transistor count.
By 2000, 30 million transistors, and by 2010,
ONE. BILLION. TRANSISTORS. IN ONE. IC. OMG!
To achieve this density, the finest resolution possible with photolithography has improved
from roughly 10 thousand nanometers, that's about 1/10th the thickness of a human hair,
to around 14 nanometers today.
That's over 400 times smaller than a red blood cell!
And of course, CPU's weren't the only components to benefit.
Most electronics advanced essentially exponentially: RAM, graphics cards, solid state hard drives,
camera sensors, you name it.
Today's processors, like the A10 CPU inside Of an iPhone 7, contains a mind melting 3.3 BILLION
transistors in an IC roughly 1cm by 1cm.
That's smaller than a postage stamp!
And modern engineers aren't laying out these designs by hand, one transistor at a time
- it's not humanly possible.
Starting in the 1970's, very-large-scale integration, or VLSI software, has been used
to automatically generate chip designs instead.
Using techniques like logic synthesis, where whole, high-level components can be laid down,
like a memory cache, the software generates the circuit in the most efficient way possible.
Many consider this to be the start of fourth generation computers.
Unfortunately, experts have been predicting the end of Moore's Law for decades, and
we might finally be getting close to it.
There are two significant issues holding us back from further miniaturization.
First, we're bumping into limits on how fine we can make features on a photomask and
it's resultant wafer due to the wavelengths of light used in photolithography.
In response, scientists have been developing light sources with smaller and smaller wavelengths
that can project smaller and smaller features.
The second issue is that when transistors get really really small, where electrodes
might be separated by only a few dozen atoms, electrons can jump the gap, a phenomenon called
quantum tunneling.
If transistors leak current, they don't make very good switches.
Nonetheless, scientists and engineers are hard at work figuring out ways around these problems.
Transistors as small as 1 nanometer have been demonstrated in research labs.
Whether this will ever be commercially feasible remains MASKED in mystery.
But maybe we'll be able to RESOLVE it in the future.
I'm DIEING to know.
See you next week.

Introduction to ePortfolios - Duration: 6:17.
Welcome!
Today we're going to talk about ePortfolios at Auburn University.
The ePortfolio Project is a campus-wide initiative that supports students and faculty from a
wide range of disciplines as they create professional ePortfolios.
Whether you're creating an ePortfolio for a class or an upcoming job search, we hope
this video will help you get started.
So, what is an ePortfolio?
At its core, an ePortfolio is a personal website.
But it's a specific kind of personal website-one that allows you to communicate and showcase
your skills, experiences, and learning.
It also contains documents and media, which we call artifacts.
An ePortfolio contextualizes those artifacts with reflective writing for a specific audience.
Examples of audiences can include potential employers or graduate schools.
ePortfolios are as unique as the students who create them.
Here are just a few examples from Auburn students and alumni from a range of disciplines, including
veterinary medicine, biosystems engineering, geography, and adult education.
Sometimes we compare ePortfolios to things that we're more familiar with, such as resumes,
blogs, and social networking.
ePortfolios have elements of each of these, but they're actually more detailed than resumes,
more evidence-based than blogs, and more professional than social networking.
ePortfolios are websites that contain artifacts and reflection.
Linkedin, paper portfolios, and blogs each have two of these three elements, but ePortfolios
include all three.
So an easier definition to remember would be: ePortfolios are websites that contain
artifacts and reflection.
Artifacts are the documents and media that you include in an ePortfolio.
Artifacts are important because they act as evidence.
Instead of telling someone you have a specific skill, you can show them in your ePortfolio.
Examples of artifacts include essays, videos, lab reports, lesson plans, pictures, and certificates.
Another crucial part of the ePortfolio is reflective writing, which gives you an opportunity
to add meaning to your artifacts.
Reflective writing allows you to provide context or background information.
For example, you can talk about when and why you created an artifact.
Reflective writing also allows you to make connections between your classes and co-curricular
experiences to tell one cohesive story.
With reflective writing, you can explain the significance of an experience or artifact.
You and your peers may have similar experiences or artifacts, but what you learned, why it's
important, and how you plan to apply that knowledge will be different for everyone.
And that's the power of reflective writing.
Here are a few examples of how artifacts and reflective writing can look in an ePortfolio.
In this one, a student pairs a photo of herself at an event and reflects on her experience
within the text on the left.
Here, a student pairs a research poster with a photo of herself presenting the poster.
More than one artifact can be used to represent a specific experience.
In her reflective writing, she talks about the importance of the research poster assignment.
This next student embedded the artifacts in her reflective writing.
The paragraph talks about her experiences and if you clicked on the green hyperlinks,
it would open the papers and projects she chose to include in her ePortfolio.
And finally, in this example, a student created a video of a presentation and wrote a reflection
on the presentation.
Of course, a website needs to live online.
And there are a wide range of website-building platforms you could use.
Our office supports four free platforms; Wix, Weebly, WordPress, and Google Sites.
In addition to creating business websites and blogs, you can also use these sites to
create ePortfolios.
You do not need to know how to code.
These platforms use intuitive drag-and-drop editors similar to Word or PowerPoint.
You will be able to use and update your ePortfolio on these platforms even after you graduate
from Auburn.
Each platform also has an extensive support system to help with any technology questions.
As you create your ePortfolio, you will be making questions and taking actions that could
impact yourself and others.
We call the awareness of the choices you make and their impact, ethical literacy.
There are many parts of ethical literacy including attribution, representation, and accessibility.
Attribution includes finding, using, and crediting media in an appropriate manner.
Representation asks you to consider what the images and content in your ePortfolio communicate
about yourself and others.
And finally, accessible features ensure that all users can fully experience the content
within your ePortfolio.
Here is one concrete way to think about ethical literacy.
Photos are a common type of artifact in the ePortfolio.
As you decide whether or not to include a photo in your ePortfolio, we encourage you
to consider a few questions including, who took the photo, who is in the photo, and what
does the photo communicate.
As you create your ePortfolio, we encourage you to visit our website at auburn.edu/eportfolios.
Here you will find videos, handouts, examples, and resources to help you with the process.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact at eportfolios@auburn.edu
Thanks for listening, and good luck with your ePortfolio!

My 3 Biggest Mistakes when Starting Calisthenics - Duration: 8:05.
Hello and welcome to this video where I'll be talking about 3 mistakes I did
when I was starting out calisthenics.
I've been training calisthenics for over 5 years and I think I know a lot about it now.
But I was a beginner once and looking back,
I see I did a few mistakes that I had fixed only recently.
I am self-taught and I've never had someone watching me and checking
if what I do or don't do is ok or not.
Everything I know comes from my own experience,
but this method of learning is not optimal and can sometimes be very slow.
Learn from mistakes of other people to achieve your goals faster.
This is my biggest mistake and yet, I did it over and over again.
This is my biggest mistake and yet, I did it over and over again.
Before I started training calisthenics I haven't had any experience in sports.
I did go to the gym for some time, but I was weak.
So when I started training calisthenics systematically, I progressed quickly.
That's how it is in the beginning – you see that you're better and better every week.
This creates a certain notion about your progress, that is inaccurate,
because the more advanced you get, the slower you get better.
Another aspect of this topic is that I was motivated by the desire
to do all the advanced bodyweight skills like muscle ups, human flags, levers and so on.
So I treated the basics as a stepping stone to them.
I need to be able to do pull ups to learn muscle ups,
I need handstand for handstand push up and so on.
This approach is generally correct, but I took it too far and stopped doing those basics at all.
I didn't want to waste my energy, because I would rather do harder progressions of the skills I was training for.
What it resulted in was very slow progress or even lack of it.
So being very eager to learn the skills and being too confident about your progress can bring about a lot of problems.
Your muscles get used to the training very quickly.
They regenerate after each session and are prepared for another, harder one.
What does get much longer to adapt to the amount of stress you put on them are your joints.
Elbows and wrists are what gets injuried very commonly,
because they didn't have enough time to get stronger and more durable.
I had a lot of minor injuries and pains in both those joints in the beginning,
because I did exercises that put too much load on them.
Progressions for skills like planche or iron cross,
handstands or back levers all are very strenuous for your wrists or elbows.
If you go through the progressions too quickly, it's very likely that you get injured or develop pains in them.
Now I know that being patient and humble is crucial to this sport.
If I have to do tuck planche or tuck front lever for 3 months, so be it.
It's difficult to swallow one's pride, but mastering the basic moves will yield in better understanding of the skill in the future.
The quicker you get the skill the quicker you can loose it,
whether you get injured or too impatient to wait for the results.
I've done this cycle of getting a skill and loosing it quickly a few times
and I wish you didn't have to do the same.
Of course there remains the issue of how long is enough?
How do you know when to start doing harder progressions?
Well, that's pretty problematic question, because there's no good answer.
Depends on the skill, on the person and on circumstances.
But let me tell you one thing: if you think that it's already time to change the progressions to harder one
then you're probably in the middle of the way to changing it.
Stretching is probably the thing I slacked with the most.
It isn't very entertaining, doesn't look impressive when you do it and is often unpleasant.
On top of it all, you don't really need to be very flexible, when you start training.
You can be stiff as a board and still successfully do pull ups, dips, push ups or knee raises.
But its crucial to begin stretching at that very moment
because getting flexible is a long process.
To see some significant results you need to do it for months or even years.
Good flexibility and mobility starts showing its importance
soon after you want to get into intermediate or advanced stuff.
You'll feel limited by your own body not allowing you to train skills you'd like to.
All leg raises, toes to bars, handstand presses, L-sit
or V-sits require a solid pike flexibility.
For proper squats and lunges you need hips flexibility.
A proper handstand position? You'll gonne need flexible chest and shoulders
or you'll be able to do only banana handstands.
I have realized the importance of stretching only when I needed the flexibility to perform the skills I just mentioned.
I was stiff as a board back then, I couldn'e even touch my toes.
So when I finally started to stretch systematically,
I had to wait months for some decent results.
If I had started stretching at the beginning,
I wouldn't have wasted so much time.
So, if you don't stretch regularly you better start now.
It's never too late to start, but the earlier you do it, the better.
I think everyone knows that warming up is important.
Yet I've seen so many people, including me, who didn't do it properly.
No one wants to do the boring stuff. Circling your arms, pacing in place,
warming and stretching your joints – blah. It's all boring.
We want to get to the exiting stuff right away.
Muscle ups, handstand push ups, levers – that what's exiting.
But it isn't smart. This approach can quickly lead to some unpleasant injuries.
Of course, let me clarify, you don't need the same warm-up for every workout.
If you plan on doing basic stuff like push or pull ups,
you don't need to be as well warmed up as you need before training planche.
ou can easily get warmed up on the go, as you do the workout itself.
Basic exercises are not very strenuous, so there's not much risk invloved.
However, when your workout starts with more difficult exercises, like handstand push ups,
then your body needs to be well prepared or you can damage your wrists, elbows or face.
Another thing is that you probably want to be able to perform at your best when you have the most energy.
I've noticed that when I slacked off with the warm up,
my sets of max reps might look like this: 13, 15, 13, 12.
That means I wasn't warmed up properly before doing the first set.
I was on the second one, but I already have used up some energy for the first one.
If I am well warmed up, then the set looks more like this 16, 14, 13, 12.
The proper warm up allows you to perform on your maximum level.
In the beginning I would rush to the workout as soon as possible,
because the warm-up wasn't very interesting.
I had a lot of pains and small injuries caused by such an approach.
Right now, I always spend at least 15 minutes warming up.
If I'm doing something that is very difficult then even longer.
I warmed up for 25-30 minutes before attempting 90 degree handstand push ups.
Just because it is so complicated and strenuous move. Be smart and warm up decently.
If I were to summarize the most important thing I've learned
during my years of training it would be this: be patient and be humble.
This is the key to success in body weight training.
In life, nothing that comes easily or quickly is worth having.
I'm gonna leave you with this thought. See you in the next video my friends.
