HOW TO MAKE AMERICAN BISCUITS - Duration: 4:23.Hi and welcome to Steve' Kitchen. The English language is a strange thing
whether you say tomato
or tomato it really doesn't matter they mean the same thing
unlike the biscuit. Now when I was in Louisiana I think it was
in the USA, the wonderful USA I
first came across the American biscuit now here in Australia
and in the UK for that instance go and get a biscuit you know it's going to be
covered in chocolate
it might have raisins in it we call biscuits what the Americans call
cookies so I was a little disappointed when I went to get biscuits
something to dip into my coffee and I end up with something that looked a
little bit like a scone
it was a savory scone actually, that's the American
biscuit now I was disappointed but I've learned to absolutely love them
and today I'm going to share with you one of my favorites it's a cream biscuit
come on let me show you how
Now this is a very simple recipe. I've got two cups
of self raising flour. Now a lot of people don't have self raising flour you
can use all purpose and add
a little bit of baking powder and salt into it.
I'll leave a little explanation down in the description. I'm going to add a tablespoon of
sugar in there as well
and then we're just going to pour in some double cream a cup and a half
of nice thick double cream and I think in some places they would call this
a heavy cream and then I'm just going to take a fork
and start to pull these together then I'm just going to start using my hands
and one of the important things with a biscuit is not to overwork
the pastry you want that lovely crumbly texture. So just pull this together until
you've got a nice firm dough
then when it's drawn together like that we just pop it out
onto our work counter dust the surface with a little bit a flour
and as I say we don't want to overwork this dough but I'm just going to square
it up now
and then sprinkle a little bit of flour again
over the top of our dough and take a rolling pin
and we just going to roll this out until it's about
half an inch thick then when your happy you've got the thickness you want I've got a
3-inch
cutter here and I'm just going to use it to cut out
my biscuits and that's what we're looking for
and whilst we lay out our biscuits on a non-stick tray or cookie sheet we'll just
preheat your oven to 420'F that's 220
degrees Celsius
it's a pretty hot oven leave a little space about around each one
and the last thing we want to do before these go in the oven I want to take a
little bit of melted butter
and just brush it over the top and now we're just going to pop these in the oven
for about 10 minutes until they're lovely golden brown
Now there they are out of the oven and they're beautiful golden brown
What I am going to do before they actually cool down is I'm just going to
brush
again a little bit of melted butter now I'm using salted butter
it's up to you whether you use salted or unsalted and then I'm going to lift these
biscuits onto a cooling rack and just let them completely cool down
now you look at those they look absolutely delicious now
I like to have these with a little something sweet so I'm just going to
take one of these and look at the way
that pulls apart its absolutely beautiful
and that's because we haven't overwork the dough lovely and crumbly
now I'm just going to pop a little bit of raspberry jam
on top of that now the English in me wants to add a big dollop of fresh cream
as well but I'm going to have it just
as it is. So there you have it American-style biscuits albeit
a cream biscuit. I'm going to try this because it's smells delicious
mmmm
and it tastes delicious. Now what a delightful and light and fluffy biscuit that is
it's fantastic. Now I'm going to be using this for another recipe so keep them Peeled
because that's coming up very soon
as always I'd love to hear your comments down below, please share the love, give this the
thumbs up
I'll see you in the next video be good.

Been working out all week, now it's time for some burgers!
Yo what's up.
Minneapolis. - Minneapolis.
San Diego. - San Diego!
The USA always has these nice carpets.
Just entered the USA and we're already building our own burger on an iPad. How cool is that?
Build your own burger. -Hell yeah.

San Diego, we're here!
Alright it's time to go to bed. Bye!
Are you awake? - I'm wide awake.
Not a bad view.
Good start of the day. Find some breakfast.
Walk around a bit, enjoy the nice weather.
And tonight we're going to rock a sold out stadium.
This room looks a bit like the room of Bert & Ernie.
With these two beds next to each other right? -Yeah indeed! You are right.
Hey Bert!
Bert, can you turn the lights off?
Coffee, coffee, coffee!
Had a nice breakfast, walked around a bit and now we're going to prepare our set.

Good night homie. - See you tomorrow.
Good job bro.
Slept real bad... of course.
Because of that sh*tty jetlag.
But it was a sick weekend. Two crazy shows.
Both packed. Crazy people, so much fun.
It's time to go home. 10 hour flight from LA to Amsterdam.
USA you have been amazing once again.
There's a huge queue on LAX. Holy sh*t. Look at this.
Looks a bit like a theme park.
30 minute delay. But we made it. - Yeah we made it.
Is it good? - No.
It's the most disappointing sushi ever.
I feel sorry for people who have to eat this.
... You just ate it yourself. - Yeah I had to, I was hungry man.
Hey Mr. Romantic, it was a nice tour. See you later!
We're back home safely.
Our USA tour was amazing!
Unfortunately I gained a few pounds. - Burger life!
Its okay. I'll run it off again.
Like and subscribe. - Give a thumbs up!
Comment below about what you want to see in future episodes.
See you in two weeks. Peace!

5 Steps: "A Technique for Producing Ideas" (Written by James W. Young) - Duration: 5:33.Today we'll discuss ""A Technique for Producing ideas" written by James Young.
[Intro Video]
Hi, this is Mike Negami, Lean Sigma Black Belt.
In the last video, we used the 5-How Analysis to list up necessary functions from the new
process.
With this method and its template, you can make the ideas visible to everyone, and you
can convert them in a way that you can actually use them effectively.
However, we have to have ideas before that.
How can we make ideas in our minds?
Let's learn it from ""A Technique for Producing Ideas"" written by James Young.
The book is called a bible by people in the advertisement industry.
The first edition was in 1940, so it is a great long-selling book.
First of all, he says that it is important to learn principles first, then learn methods
for learning something.
There are two principles for how to make ideas.
The first one is: ""An idea is nothing more nor less than a new combination of old elements.""
There are people rich in ideas occasionally, but they are not geniuses.
They have existing knowledge and they are making new combinations among them.
When we hear something like this, we feel we can do the same, don't we?
And the second principle is: ""The capacity to bring old elements into new combinations
depends largely on the ability to see relationships.""
In that case, if you improve your ability to see the relationships among things, you
can make a lot of new ideas.
So, how can we do this?
The author introduces the five steps of this method.
He says, ""Whenever an idea is produced, this technique is followed, consciously or unconsciously;
and this technique can be consciously cultivated, and the ability of the mind to produce ideas
thereby increased.""
It's encouraging!
The first step is to "Gather raw materials"".
There are also two types of materials: ""specific materials"" and ""general materials"".
About this, he explains: ""In advertising, an idea results from a new
combination of specific knowledge about products and people, with general knowledge about life
and events."
The second step is to "Masticate those materials"".
In other words, look at individual materials at various angles, arrange and put together
several things, and write down what you felt on paper even if it's incomplete or seems
crazy.
The next step is very interesting.
After putting a lot of energy into the first two steps, you may feel hopeless and with
no clear insight at this stage.
Then, the third step is to "Drop the whole subject.""
It is important that you forget all 'making-idea' things, and do something fun that you like,
like movies or reading, then you can let your own subconscious work for you.
The fourth step is ""Out of nowhere the idea will appear"".
When you're relaxing and not expecting it at all, the idea which you're looking for
will suddenly come to you.
This happened to me many times.
I often got great ideas when I went to the bathroom or was taking a shower.
The final step is to "Make the idea practical.""
In reality, there are various situations and constraints.
You have to change the produced idea into a form that can actually be used.
As a practice, instead of keeping the idea to yourself, show it to people around you
and professional people in that area and get their feedback, then improve the idea.
There may be criticism among them, but that is a chance to make a leap to the contrary.
Really innovative ideas are not easily understood.
Until now, there were millions of ideas that couldn't be made practical and died.
Keep improving your idea incorporating your situations and constraints and make it happen.
Today, we learned how to make new ideas.
Thank you very much for viewing.

THE DASH DIET
Another good advice is to reduce the amount of sodium in your diet.
The popular DASH diet can help you do this and reduce the amount of sodium in your diet
to 1500 mg. a day.
The diet involves consuming fresh fruit and vegetable as well as non-fat and low-fat dairy
products.
It consists of legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains and vegetable oil.
Fish, lean meat and poultry are also allowed, while salty food, red meat, sugar and sweets
are forbidden in the diet.
Alcohol is strictly forbidden as it can increase your blood pressure.
High blood pressure is a serious disease that can be fatal if left untreated.
If you notice the aforementioned symptoms, we urge you to visit a doctor in order to
get the appropriate treatment.

Modi Govt on Advance Drone shopping spree - Duration: 3:47.India is boosting its defence capabilities to get ahead of Pakistan in the arms race
in the South Asian region.
From acquiring the world's most advanced air defence missile system from Russia to
Rafale fighter jets from France, now the country will get its first weaponised drones for the
Indian Army from Israel.
The drones will give the army the capability to carry out classified cross borders missions
on the lines of the surgical strike in PoK.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Tel Aviv in the first week of July
and Defence Ministry officials are busy in giving a final shape to the agreement to procure
Israeli Heron TP-armed drones, capable to hit target (enemy) with air to ground missiles
after tracking it down.
Project code named 'Cheetah', to acquire 10 weaponised drones from Israel for $400
million dollar is expected to be signed during Modi's next month visit, the first ever
visit of Indian prime minister to Israel.
The Indian Army has been proposing to buy these armed drones in 2011, but the proposal
did not get a political backing during the UPA-2 government.
After the US denied to sell its Predator armed drones to India, Israel has come forward to
give new heights to strategic partnership to both countries under the Modi government
regime.
Till date, Indian security agencies use UAV or drones only for surveillance and reconnaissance
missions.
Integrated Defence Staff, a tri-service body, wanted to upgrade nearly 40 UAV platforms
into weaponised version.
In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's diplomatic push which led to India's entry
into the elite club of Mission Technology Control Regime in June last has opened India's
way to procure weaponised drones fitted with missiles and laser-guided bombs.
In June last, India became the 35th member of elite MTCR, which enable India to buy high-end
missile technology.
Also, Russia has agreed to sell the game changer S-400 S-400 'Triumf' long-range air defence
missile system with the capability to destroy incoming hostile aircraft, missiles and even
drones at ranges of up to 400 km.
Only Russia and the US have such long range modern air defence weapon system.
Even China is eyeing to procure these missiles from Moscow.
The ministry of defence is on a shopping spree with nearly 20 billion projects recently approved.
The projects range between Rafale fighter planes and S400 air defence systems along
with fast track approvals for Special Forces equipments such as assault rifles, light machine
guns etc.
With the procurement, India will be able to do what NATO forces did in Afghanistan of
launching remotely control operations on Taliban hideouts, a senior defence officer said.
India's military is trying to equip with more unmanned technologies to gather intelligence
as well as boost its firepower along its borders with Pakistan and China.
The Indian navy has also joined its demand to have long endurance armed drones to continue
surveillance on the Indian Ocean.

CS:GO - Tips sur Cobblestone [English Subtitles] - Duration: 7:24.Hey What's up everyone , Its w0lve and i'm back for another video on the map de_cobblestone
So i'll show you some tips to improve your gameplay on this map , Let's GOO!
So ,first Tips is a popflash , you have to go in this corner , aim at this lamp , jump and throw your flash
And you'll see , it makes a popflash in the long A, Every CT in that Spot will be blinded
It will be super useful and super easy to take the Long A now
Second Tips , I will learn you the door smoke from Long A, You have to aim in the middle of crenation and throw to smoke
And you'll see that it go under the tree bounce on the grass and lands perfectly in front of the door, you can't see anything
It's a really useful smoke to take A site easily
Second smoke on this A Site , you have to stand here in this shadow were i'm aiming you can't crouch to be more precise
Aim under the arch in a brick , you'll see it better in game, jump and release the smoke like that
It will land on the balcony perfectly and smoke the entire thing
It's again a really useful smoke to take the site and with the door's smoke you'll be perfectly cover to plant the bomb
Another useful smoke to break a CT line on the Long, just stand here, aim a little above the white brick and throw , it will land on the left of the truck
After the smoke released, you can go on site without looking the truck and being surprised
To smoke the right of the truck, stand here near the boost spot aim a little bit above this corner and throw the smoke
You'll see that it smokes the right side of the truck so you can plant the bomb easily
One popflash from connector to A site , you must look at this banner, aim a little higher and throw
Every ennemy in the middle and in long will be flashed and you can pick free kill if used properly
Another smoke launched from the balcony, you have to stand in this corner
aim on this dark spot, it'll be easier in game and throw the smoke
Long will be smoked perfecly to avoid T rush
You can in the CT Side jump on this wall and on this house and you can look mid and pick some kills
First B site smoke in the CT side, It's an antirush smoke. You have to stand here behind the door
aim in the top right of the "window", run and when you reach the bottom left corner, just throw your smoke
It bounce on the edge of the broken wall and it stops every rushing T
In the T side, you can throw a lot of nade from Long B like this Molotov
You stand in the corner of the crates and it's useful to burn a CT hiding near the tree
Just Aim in the intersection of the tower and the wall and throw
The whole tree is on fire, if the CT is determined he must go in front of the tree and be more exposed to you
A door smoke from Long B, Stand in that corner of the crates, aim between the roof and the pill of crated and throw
It will bounce on the brick wall and land perfectly in the door
Now i'll show you a chiken coop smoke. just stand at the same position as the door smoke and a little in the right of the poll and throw
this smoke will enter the chiken coop and cover the entire chiken coop
if a CT is greedy and want to pick a kill, He will be exposed to much and you've got the advantage.
To smoke dropper , stand here and aim in the middle of the dark window on the tower and throw
it will bounce a little bit on the tree and cover the dropper
If you are a sniper or maybe a rifle you can go on top of the box and have a nice view of the dropper
To smoke the right of the B Site stand in this corner and aim at the intersection of the dark line and the wall and throw
And you can cross the site without getting surprised by some CT near the door
To smoke this time the left side of B Site stand in the left corner of the crates, aim in the left of the poll and throw
You'll see that the smoke land on the left side of the statueso you can go to chicken coop without getting killed
When you go on B Site, Don't forget to check these spots
This spot is played a lot so be careful
This spot here
The less cheked spot is this one
So if you check and combine the smokes, the site will be yours
Don't forget the chicken coop is wallbang friendly
As you can see if you shoot the bullets pass through the wood
if you think a CT is hiding in the coop just fire and you'll see :D
G2 Shox's Tips now aigainst Fnatic I think, if you are in a clutch situation to fake the dropper jump
Just stand in that corner, Jump and the ennemy will think you have fallen in dropper so you can suprised them
First dropper smoke now, stand in the right corner of dropper
Look at the bottom left of this wooden plank and throw
It will cover the entire left side of the dropper so you can go Dropper to A
The Left side smoke for Dropper, stand in the same corner as the previous smoke
Aim at the three near dark spots, to the left and throw (you'll see better IG)
It's a really good smoke to cover the windows and rushing CT's
Do not hesitate to use it in MM
The last tips, to molotov the boost without exposing yourself, stand in the right corner
Crouch, aim in the middle of the ramp and throw the Molotov
It's a large molotov and it will burn every CT in this area
if the CT is not dead he will be exposed to you
Thanks for watching guys, hope you enjoyed the video
If you liked it, Like the video, Share and Subscribe
Bye everyone, w0lve out :D

How I made $10k profit in one day: True Lives with tom claflin - Duration: 12:09.the best day I ever had was $37,000 revenue and $10,000 profit one day and
that was when I was working almost no I was working barely anything at all
maybe one hour a day tops
welcome to true lives with me Tom claflin where we try to look at the
question of what are you going to do with your life
what does living a good life mean and how do you create that so I'm
going to be interviewing a bunch of different people who I believe have
created really amazing lives for themselves generally from nothing and
gone on to do really cool things purely with the power of their imagination and
willpower and those are kind of a two themes imagination and willpower to
create something really amazing for yourself out of nothing just the other
day i was interviewing a guy from Estonia 20 years old already sold one company
traveled around the world is in Vietnam here in Ho Chi Minh city building a second
company doing a lot of cool things we're really inspiring kid twenty years old
when I was twenty year olds old like I was drinking with my time like it's amazing
II what one can do now where you have to access the internet and you can just see
so much see what other people are doing this access stuff so many tools so many
networking making connections learning from other people you can really achieve
kind of anything you can imagine now if you work for it so I'm going to be
interviewing a bunch of different people to try to find out how do they do it how
do they create amazing lives for themselves so I thought I start with my
my personal story so why should you listen to me Who am I you don't know me
personally you're just seeing some guy talking at you on the internet so I did
something that that I think very few people have done
I went from literally nothing no no money no connections no skills no real
good skills or anything like that totally broke pretty much to creating a
multi-million dollar company within a year all from my home here in Vietnam without
taking on any outside investment or going into any debt within four and a
half months I went from having maybe $200 in my bank account to over
$100,000 all this working from home on the
Internet living here in Vietnam it's truly a
remarkable I'm not the only person who's ever done this but it's not that common
so I want to tell you that story how I went from nothing to something I'm going
to start it when I first came to Vietnam
7 years ago when I first came here I was 25 years old it was January 6 2010 and I
had no idea when I was going to do with my life I didn't know what I wanted to
be I didn't know what I wanted to do didn't know what kind of person I was
and I guess I sort of wanted to find those answers out
so to make money I was
English teaching I was working maybe 8 hours a week maybe
10 hours a week making about at most $1,000 a month so I was kind of just
getting by eating a lot of street food and spending a lot of time alone both by
choice and by force because I was really poor but the goal was not somewhat to
have a good time it was to remove everything that was unessential for my
life and this process took a number of years both in removing the events with
activities in your life that are not important to you and also removing
the thoughts or opinions or ideas that don't really help you in any way the
main process I used to do this was meditation though that's kind of a fancy
name and sort of popular right now and really meditation is really just sitting there
and staring at a wall was what I was doing and meditation is usually very boring
and not fun and very difficult so I I did that for a number of years and over
time after about 3 years of sitting and staring at a wall I realized that this
was quite boring and I wanted to make a lot of money and I wanted to do it fast
and preferably easily and from home and legally because I'm not very much a risk
taker in that way. so how can I possibly do it how can I go
from no skills and no money to lots of money and lots of skills without getting a
job and while working from home the answer is how to make money on the
internet so a lot of people have tried its Google on the internet how to make
money on the internet and you'll get a lot of bullshit results maybe right
ten million bullshit results so it took about two years of kind of maybe year
we're just kind of going through that bullshit trying to find well what is the
secret what are these people doing is it all just lies or they just try to scam
you I eventually came across a forum called STM stack that money used to be
called and they were kind of advocating a specific strategy online it was
called paid media arbitrage or performance marketing where you were
buying ads you were buying ad space say from google you were buying google ads your
advertising someone else's product and they were giving you affiliate
commissions on the sales of that product so the goal was to make money off the
difference between the amount you spend on ads and the amount you made in commissions
and that's kind of the arbitrage and the performance part because you are
only paid on the commissions you got and you only made a profit off the
difference between those commissions in the ad spend so in theory it's pretty
simple in practice it is rather difficult so I started with a pay per
call ads on Facebook or on Google AdWords traffic
I was advertising for a call center that wanted insurance leads they were selling
health insurance through the call center and they wanted
people to call up so I bought ads on Google basically saying do you want
health insurance or I kind of forget the exact copy butBut it was like call now
to get free health insurance quotes so I was paying like a few dollars a click on
Google and I got paid I forget what it was many twelve dollars for a person who
stayed on the phone call for more than more than one minute and it was kind of
profiting sometimes if you look some days they make a few hundred dollars
some days i would lose a few hundred dollars but it was functioning I
was getting calls like a kind of see some potential but I had no idea what I
was doing I'll just just learn this off the
internet and read some forums I had no idea what I was doing then to my good
fortune a course came out by this STM forum and it was being taught by a guy
with a screen name Zeno real name Dave who I have now since become good friends
with and he was going to teach the basics affiliate marketing from start to
finish in the 6-week mastery course it still exists you can
still take it I highly recommend it fantastic and totally changed my life so
I started that course and one of the offers that we were running for that
course was called privacy lock it was an app that kind of put a a lock on your
pictures so or on your apps and messages so for example if you were sharing your
phone with your other family members you could kind of hide your stuff from them
so this was being offered in Indonesia so I was advertising in Indonesia
for an app that I didn't own called privacy lock
so i was buying traffic from a messenger another app that I was putting ads for
this app on it and I tried a lot of different ads
I don't speak Indonesian in fact I don't really know what language they speak in
Indonesian but fortunately I don't have to know that because I got translated on
the Internet so I got my creatives translated the winning ad was the
winning headline was is he looking at your pictures while you're in the shower
with a picture of a dirty guy looking at the pictures in the phone and that
what got people clicking and downloading the app so I was managing
within about a month of trying that campaign I was doing about $400
a day profit which was probably some of the greatest days of my life they
totally changed my life what the power of the internet was the power of
marketing on the internet was you didn't have to have a product
you didn't have to have a company you just had to find traffic that was cheap
buy it it hoped that it and try to get a good enough ad that converted those
people into into installs or users of the app then within six weeks I was
doing about a $1000 a day profit which was life-changing it
totally changed my idea of what's reality what's possible so I took the profits
from that and I went to London where STM was having a conference this is the
first time in my life I'd met people who are doing this professionally who were
doing affiliate marketing our performance media buying and it just
further blew my mind that these people were being really successful having
professional careers in this industry at the conference I met an offer that was
really a the guy was really nice he owned the product he wanted to sell it I
kind of pretended to be a little more experienced than I was and he said okay
you can help me promote this product is it great I also found the traffic source
there they were trying to sell traffic these were pop up ads and essentially I
had know fucking idea what I was doing and I came back to Vietnam and I just stuck
the two together and the first day I made 400 dollars and I was like holy shit
this is this is amazing and essentially I just ran that I ran at so hard for
about two years and I just expanded and expanded it and I literally made
millions from that is the best day I ever had was $37,000 revenue and ten
thousand dollars profit one day and that was when I was working almost no I was
working barely anything at all maybe one hour a day tops because it was kind of I
I figured out the system now it's not easy there's a lot of failures which I'm
not talking about right now there's a lot of failures that happen along the
way a lot of things that try that didn't work but but some successes enough
success that it totally changed my life so I just want to let show people what
is possible in reality what how you can go from literally nothing really having
nothing to completely changing your life and and this my story is kind of all
about money because it had that it's bit of a component but it doesn't have to
that you can find something that you really
passionate about it interested in and focus on that and make it happen through
connecting with people over the internet educating yourself and really trying to
find out what what it is you you want and what it is you can do so thank you
for listening that's my story if you want to anymore I'm going to have a link
to a webinar when I talk more about my my method for making money on the
internet and kind of out more about my story in detail so you can sign up for
that but otherwise I hope you enjoyed the following interviews where you can
hear from other people's stories they're totally different from mine but how they
they kind of went from from nothing to something and totally creating an
interesting interesting life for themselves just purely with their
imagination and the willpower so thank you for listening

He says, ""Whenever an idea is produced, this technique is followed, consciously or unconsciously;
and this technique can be consciously cultivated, and the ability of the mind to produce ideas
thereby increased.""

Insta Night Life King: True Lives ep.02 Ben Dolgoff - Duration: 27:51.so anyways fast forward that was March 2011 we started it in March 2012 a year
later we sold it for over a million dollars and that was like our one year
one year
okay so now for the lesson that all the ladies have been waiting for the one
and only ben dolgoff so I've known Ben for like a year
oh yeah yeah about a year now yeah I'm goes back then you've gone from just
some guy to Saigon nightlife for sorry get out of here just wheelin and dealin
trying walk into a club everybody knows your name for better or for worse
yeah it's not always said yeah yeah fuck that guy ben but they know
that's cool man so when you came here you
didn't know anybody right here Saigon didn't know anybody know so I
interesting story and I think about the other day so when I when I was younger I
had a startup in Boston and there was a Vietnamese girl that was a foreign
exchange student her name would be she was from Ho Chi Minh she started working for
me we came very close eventually I sold my company she ended
up moving back to Vietnam a couple years later we connect and she said hey Ben
come up to vietnam and check it out at the time he my business partner came out
how old were you so that was about four years ago
so twenty seven or so and because of that like I just loved Vietnam
I went there, I went to Thailand and Malaysia KL and I just fell in
love with Vietnam hochiminh particularly and I don't think I would have came here
you know it's usually not in the US you like hey let's go to Vietnam yeah until
she said it right most people think of the war yeah right so so when I came out
here you know it's just like shocked and I loved it I thank thee for that for
like getting me to come out here but yeah that's the only person I really
knew and you know we still hang out not as much now but at the time it was good
you know you get that one person that helps you to start to meet friends and
you keep branching out from there and definitely so like so before you came to
Vietnam yeah you were from Boston so I'm from Boston
yeah so I'm 31 now from Boston and I was younger 85 85 so I was doing startups
right so I was working finance major or the whole background
short and sweet finance major was working in a bank hated the job a to the
nine-to-five hated the suit and tie wanted to do something different. what kind of bank
Wealth management yeah so yeah it's a horrible fucking horrible like you know
you just you go there and you see everybody the managers that they all say
like they're all miserable and you can tell they haven't moved up in the
ranks for years and and and and they used to be I remember these so we say
like I wish I would have done that or I want anything there's one guy like when
they're old and now he has a family is tough to be a startup you have
kids and family there's more commitment and they you should tell me like that I
wish I would have started this or I wish I were to start a pizza place and and I
remember just getting that drilled in my head all the time I don't and there are
great people 21 yeah I legit I'm 22 yeah and I was just like at that point I was
like I just I just don't want no offense to them and they seemed like they were
miserable I just don't be that guy that I wish I
would write yeah so that kind of did you know I always wanted to I didn't know
what I wanted to do but I knew I didn't want to have a boss my whole life I
wanted I never understood why people work their life so much so hard and then
when they're 65 maybe they can travel right maybe they can do that where you
don't know nothing is guaranteeing this life right health what was what not so I
always said I wanted to be able to like do something I loved and I always
thought I saw I love travel I do love Travel now but knowing then I didn't
travel too much they always seemed so amazing
and I said you know I really want to create a life where I could travel and
work as well so after Brown Brothers we should you know Brown Brothers of the
company I was working there my business partner and I started an app called
peekaboo mobile it was all real time deals and discounts it's when like
Groupon started to come out and they're getting big and it wasn't group buying and
just show a deal on your phone to redeem it we start working it's going well
in boston officially I was involved the local thing yeah and it's starting to go
well and you know you have to give that key decision like we weren't making tons
of money but I saw the growth i saw the traction and everything comes down to
opportunity cost so yeah I can stick with that safe job with 40 hours a week
playing you're still working the job they work okay I moonlighting
so 9 to 5 yeah 9 to 5 on somebody's bitch and then I go out and now I'm a
founder of a company right so like you guys do the 9:00 to 5:00 9:00 to 5:00 go
back home or the gym work until you know 3 4 a.m. and do it over again yeah so
you know start getting traction wasn't making a lot of money but I saw the
opportunity cost and I go if I can cut off this 40 hours like it sucks like
it's a little scary like I'm making good money now just got out of college and
Mike my business partner at
the time we decided to like art we got to take a
chance of this because we saw it growing and I still remember I like went
downstairs for my office out call my dad i was 21 or 22
and I was crying on the phone with dad like well after I was crying after the
call , dad I really want to quit this is what I'm doing now if he just paid for
my tuition for four years yeah you know and I had finance major and after all
this and I was there for about a year Brown Brothers and he goes what do you
think is okay daddy good do what you think stuff and I remember other crying
I went upstairs so I managed I I want to quit game though notice and after that
man things just kind of took off you know so when you had that opportunity
cost now after that full 40 hours and put it all into peekaboo it's you know
things went really well from there everything went kind of so fast we
raised around from local investors of $100,000 at a time to like fuel sales
and technology and then you know we started active acquiring a lot of
businesses everything was going really well
just boston-based and a year later that was 2008 another business through the
same time - under asked of acquiring a car and businesses that were partnered
with us so acquiring more restaurant okay I feel acquiring more shops you know or
whatnot so anyways fast forward that was March
2011 we started it in March 2012 a year later we sold it for over a million
dollars and that was like our one year one year I won it 1.1 but basically
basically one year when you're fantastic it was amazing right and we made some
good chunk of money out of it we had investors - they got a return they did
was it the first time I saw like wow there's this whole other life right like
it's not like it's not and yeah it is a little bit of luck
that the guy we met you know how much like of court I mean like but it was
amazing because that was the first like I opener that I saw that like hey you
don't have to do the nine-to-five on time I there's office you can do this
right there's not this whole like path you have to follow yeah and from there
everything just kind of my whole mind was like open well you know is
interesting because I always thought I was younger money I thought you know
what man I want to have a yacht with tons of girls I don't have all this
money and I'm now and now you used to want this yeah sure I haven't no good
little boy be to that yacht toy boat in my bathtub um because the girls yeah so
so so I remember I always thought the money we do yes yeah and then I remember I
said to my company we had a lot of money we were getting paid at a hundred
thousand dollars a year as a twenty two-year-old because the company that
acquired us again wanted us to stay how long was your contract. one
year so I remember hundred thousand dollars a year some money
I'm living his nice condo in Boston we realized it out somebody fuckin news
yeah it's looking miserable though and I remember it was it I always start with
the money but it wasn't it was the freedom I didn't I don't like to get up
at seven o clock I don't work well I'm not I'm I can't do anything before like
10:00 a.m. you know I'm a night guy so they are straight they were getting mad
because you know arm toys are getting that you know if we weren't getting in
before our employees and just stupid stuff how we dressed up and like to me
my whole my everything I knew was about like let's work on our own schedule
let's work how i'm productive so anyways out year went by left and
then from there we just kept making all these different apps so we are really a
marketing know similar to what you were doing what you do we do has an
e-commerce sites but all passive income and along those years I was traveling I
was traveling I had a girlfriend for a while and became single and just
traveling making money using affiliate marketer never had a team it was always me
and I business partner my somebody really small like that right so you know
that kind of went that was going well everything was good and then you know I
had a girlfriend for a while I moved up from Boston to Nashville
bought some real estate was the first time I did that
and now I have some home the Hilton runs out on Airbnb I was 20 to 25 my high
plane took cancer that was really cool I was a new thing for me right and again I
don't big believer that life starts outside your comfort zone so then you
change right like like so my company okay all this cool stuff happened then I
moved from Boston to Nashville with a girl she's a little risky but it worked
out not now but as I looked it was good you know and then the guy had learned
out real estate and I met new people and surrounded myself with smart you know
fun interesting people they taught me a lot so I did that for a while then
actually after I broke up with my girlfriend the time I moved to Costa
Rica I'm talking a lot about random stuff but yeah so because researchers
hope I'm opposed to Rico disparately on and again I think that's one of the
things like I can never complain about my life because I've developed it or
I've made it just like you where I'm here because I want to be here anybody
if I ever complain say I'm not happy then I have to fix it I can't blame on
anybody yes right and that's what that's one thing when I was little I always
wanted I learned to control take control of my life right I don't want somebody
to say what you have to do this you have to be here to work everybody now goes
they go find their job and then like that's where they live even if they
don't like the location for me I'm like let's go live where I want and then I'll
find a job or I'll make money from there with my company right so that kind of
opened up my eyes a lot costa rica it was beautiful I visited a couple times loved
it so I had online companies out there in Costa Rica and then you know I went
to Vietnam to visit before that and just loved it and then I'm kind of on this
thing where I was like I want to live three months
everywhere I go through so the amount to an Instagram account for when you really
first came here yeah that's kind of what you're doing right yeah so I had this
company on I'll say hobby company so I'm a big believer that like everybody
should live a life like me and you have just I love that I think I think it's
just like if you're just miserable every day going to a job and you hate and I
know you got to put your dues and sometimes but like man is so much more
to like right but I believe for purpose that you believe it yeah my working
toward your dream you know some vision I mean like everything's work I mean
like yeah nothing nothing oh yeah no place is always great all the time but
you're like it's supporting your vision sure then over you want left oh yeah
right yeah it's never going to be overnight it's this steps closer right
now so when you say Instagram yet so I had a company called forever vacation
forever vacation was more of a hobby it's still out there I don't do much
with it and I should do but I'm just too busy now but forever vacation was all
about basically living a life you don't want to escape from a vacation is an
escape right yeah if you're if you feel like you're always on vacation with that
that's how I feel now right it's a forever vacation so we know I had
like some tutorials with some guys on how to create your own business and how
to you know basically make new friends when you're out in two different
countries and all this stuff and Instagram I was using a lot it's funny I
actually piloted the work out a lot I was doing Instagram ad I had a add on my
Instagram at said I'm coming to Vietnam with my face and the vietnam flag and i
targeted vietnamese and when may I put an ad out there and it was crazy the the
response which is another reason which kind of helped me to go here you you
into advertising to people in your network or just people on instagram at
Instagram Instagram but targeted in Vietnam with with with with the ads
right people who location yeah be hosting the city or the effort to do a
book and I did a whole story about you know there's an Instagram post resident
you know I had my snapchat code on it with my face in the middle and I'm
coming to Vietnam and just like insta friends yeah people's direct message
you raised in praise league right Haley's like let's hang out crazy cuz a
lot of my stuff like I would get maybe five six hundred likes on a photo but
maybe you know that's 10 15 20 comments I got like 400 comments on I was crazy
right but people were so kind and I think back when I was younger was like
your parents always say like don't talk to strangers online careful but now like
this is how people meet right its like the market so I had so many people that
DM me and wrote comments like a welcome welcome and here's a u.s. guy basically
saying he's going to move to Vietnam and I kind of want to test it i knew i was going to go but i wanted to see
and it was fucking crazy man like
everybody was so welcoming and even now it was a snapchat when I first got there
some people knew me from following my account and like you know the city's the
big city but smaller very small right so so that was it kind of like us okay like
I'm gonna be okay right there's still a move like Costa Rica is still kind of us you
can get your football you have all that you have time zones not too crazy and a
couple our flight here on my other side of the world right
but again lifestyle outside your comfort zone moved here but my goal wasn't to
live here it was going to stay here for three months and then go somewhere else
was about two years ago yeah no need I've been here for a year in two months
here so then I was into this thing where else I got grabber vacation I'll go
three months here three months here and just keep moving but the one thing I
realized too is like although although like sometimes we hate routine like
comfort kills we seek routine - or comfort so like you know as much as me
and you we live in Vietnam but we gotta say oh you have your
routine right so you need some of that yeah I just I want to break down I still
want to get on my comfort zone but you know
basically you know I started seeing like do I want to keep moving do I want to
make me friends I see opportunities that was the big thing in the operation
Clinton I just know man I do it is people are amazing foods great like just
a cultures awesome and I can't stress the people and so cool like it gets me sad
like even thinking about it because it's my team is so cool now okay subscribe so
yeah yeah you came here gonna Instagram shit they
are kind of like Oh coming you make trying to make a name and trying to let
go out there and do something doing well go I wanted us throw a couple
things out those right put your name that fellow sure okay and someone has
how did you get from there to let's party views okay so I had a company
my first company was let's party vietnam so right when we
started it was kind of like I just jumped into I fell into it right I had
forever vacation so going and I had money from before I saw my house is ever
doing well knock on wood for Airbnb and brbo
I joined to have fun man yeah I want to meet cool people I don't wanna be that
that asshole foreigner comes in and thinks he owns a new country and he's trying to be
so good I was really trying to make friends but just have fun and I started
going to these nightclubs and I always have a couple girls around me just
friends and I'd be going out a lot and all of a
sudden people started saying managers with contact me then we'd love to invite
you into blah blah blah you know come on over by 10 o'clock and you're bringing
pretty cool friends I'm not gonna go you know we're glad to give your free bottle
mixers and whatnot go okay like thats nice of them right and another club of call
me so let's just go there yeah yeah the the clubs don't normally call me up
and offer me free bottle yeah yeah what was this why I know at first I was
like been was it because of your instagram account it was anybody's a girl that's
the girl so this is what I didn't know right so I started getting it and other
people were text me say hey Ben you want to come over we have some free bottle if you want
bring your friends right or whatever okay so I started seeing that kind of
the trick that nobody really tells you with is all these clubs they all have
three to five free tables every night right in a club especially in Vietnam
Westerners are a little bit different foreskin can be alone in the club and
it's like if it's not too crowded there with their own group it's okay in
Vietnam especially like you got it in most places you want to have a hotspot
nobody wants to go into an empty Club yeah so they will pay or they will
invite people for free stuff they wanted me because I always have girls around
right and again just friends whatever hanging out and I'll come out there me
me and three four five six girls okay so that's concertinas Lee okay me with the
he'll come to make money off of this and then I started meeting a lot of cool
people right and you know I think for me I'm not some business planner I'm not
going to sit down I'm a business plan I said that right move fast so I started
like managing CJ's and that's DJs in the club and pretty girls really pretty
image and talented but did not a marker themselves so I start helping them out
and then I mean she don't speak any vietnamese no all the club owners speak
English yeah a lot of club owners do or the
managers or some stuff someone there and I had a quite a lot of friends around
okay see that would help behind it but you know language barrier was never
I've never been like oh because I have something that can help but okay so I
started doing that managing the DJ's they needed help and in know how to get
gigs okay so then I would start getting them some gigs that it was tough to get
a lot of gigs so I said what do I need so you're contacting the managers the
clubbers managers knows be like hey i got this cool new dj she's really
hot give her a chance on a tuesday night anyway and at first it wasn't always
going well like when you know what if I can't get them to play I can create an
event by create an event that I can tell which DJ's I want so I started creating
an event maybe I start getting into a i;m like okay I like that it's cool how'd you
get the people to come to your events online marketing facebook and
then I got into promoting a little bit which I hate that word it's such a dirty
word I'm not a promoter there was target we're not a marketer but it's promoters
like a dirty word as you see them out there like come through my club come to
my event so we were doing all that at the end of the day and I've even done
marketing consulting so for a lot of the clubs here will do marketing for that
we'll manager their Facebook will help them with even hiring events everything so why did
they choose you well I think at the end of the day you know like it's a good
question right so first of competition I don't think there's a lot of so
promoters here in Vietnam are basically people that ask friends if you ever go
to Las Vegas you'll see people on the street hustling hey here's my card what's
your number let me add it to the guest list you know here they don't really
have guestlists everything's table based right and there's no really promoters
don't get new leads online or when tourists are coming in or nothing
they basically invite friends if you go to some of these club's you'll see the
same people every day to show off culture it's a beautiful culture right
but today it's the same people every day that are coming back and the only way
they're going to get new leads is a friend refers or if they go to a new
club and then try to meet somebody and tries to steal them out so for me I do that I
don't want to be that guy I want to be that sleazy guy with slick back hair promoter
I looked at the CPM is the CPC's on Facebook the advertising rates um yeah
but this is really low I'm really cheap right you can do these
so you have to get a few thousand leads for 20 bucks right for so let's start
going after more Facebook targeted leads yeah so we started doing a whole bunch
of stuff with that so but really when I look at all these services
LPV let's Party Vietnam is we've done marketing for companies
we've done a lot for these night clubs but now i just want to do these events so the DJ's it
wasn't worth my time I sorta do things at first I was helping friends and if
the money is not there so DJ's buh-bye sorry marketing I don't want to keep
doing marketing consulting you know I told you before Mark Cuban always is and
you take money from a client they own you I don't want to do that I feel like
I have a boss again so that's gone too now we create events right now we
have our Thirsty Thursday event that does 250 to 400 people every event
there every Thursday and what we do really good as all online market spend
money expend month is all online marketing right so that's what I want to
do I want to launch another event where second spark spark night club check it
out its on pasteur street it's good
awesome it's fun it's a great deal girls are free from 9:30 11:30 guys are let me
go over in this great deal the drinks for girls are free
free and guys are only less than $10 right feel free flow alcohol okay so if
it is fun right all of our parties $10 free percent free flow alcohol so from
9:30 to 11:30 free beer ]free cocktails just two
hundred thousand two hundred thousand yeah good deal it looks good so Thursday
Thursday you know so it's been good man and now I want to create more events to
that right I love it once but I think there's a venue talk about this a lot
it's opportunity because it is not a much competition on Facebook and at
Facebook and Vietnam they don't know how they use insta they use snapchat but
not as much as you know Facebook and Facebook and there's so much more to
Facebook not just a post in a boost we really love it and they yeah but the
targeting right and that's a video content just doing goofy stuff yeah
so that's what we're doing out with LPV
but as an entrepreneur you know I have a
problem sometimes good or bad I like to follow the shiny penny when I see
something new yeah I want it I want it so night life was great it was getting a
getting tired of being bags under my eyes I was drinking a lot and I said I
wanted something more broad because nightclubs aren't always stable a lot of
turnover so you know I had peekaboo back when I was younger all deals on
your phone deals her local businesses get 10% off this yeah by the way you
hear one we got even up have won it right I didn't can I sold it
and I start looking here and I go like you know I can see it here there's not
too much technology coming up here I like for my any consumer tech out of
here tons of innovative this couple good company that I see but nothing crazy
that actually a wide market I see access of Facebook marketing that
tools that nobody are using and I just see that you can get labor I want to
a very low cost right smart people yeah this is what I'm learning
this I'm never knows before so we start creating you know red books basically
which was a series of vouchers from the top restaurants bars and shops okay I
hope it's here its free straight yeah
we've re branded now out onto red book so for the pretty ladies was it pretty
ladies on there that's going okay okay so I like sexy ladies here yeah but I
that's that's that's 20 percent off its underwear underwear we add to lingerie
shop 20 percent off pure lingerie yeah we got we got we got restaurants we got
stuff our next addition is going to be awesome with refinery tuk tuk urban
kitchen its alot of deals where can you get this so it's free we can you can
go to our website redbook.vn.com
just sign up for free we deliver every Tuesday and Friday
for free during businesses pay to be advertised but consumers are free so but
it's fun and the way I why I want to do a voucher is because it's trackable yeah
right if I just put an advertisement so print
although I've had these nine companies all digital print what's something I
thought Vietnam needed because it's a little bit behind but we're gonna be
launching an app out in a couple weeks which is going to have both print and
mobile cuz I think you need both of them so it's really exciting man and we're just and
I'm still have new things and but I just I see the opportunity here and I love
yeah I think it's so cool see like you came here you're in 24 months yeah in
Vietnam laughs and yeah and you're already like they're already wheeling
and dealing man i've been here 7 years and yeah way more the people in everybody
will enjoy except some stuff but anyways everybody's like oh yeah that's cool man
it's really cool everything you just like you didn't give a fuck yeah I
needn't worry about I don't speak Vietnamese I don't know this person oh I
don't I don't have this on how's that and you just fucking did it
yeah and and always like you didn't have all these restaurant contacts it's not like you
ran a restaurant here and now you got every restaurant
all the best restaurant in town signed up but you know I thought just
cool is you as a person I appreciate no I think but we we both
work hard but work smart I got it I got this
message the other day I just yesterday when I was at the club and my livestream
of spark nightclub 350 people last night was crazy and it's some guy wrote to a
hi mr Dolgoff up I got to say I admire that you have time for everything
how do you do that partying and starting up companies at the same time never
talked to this guy who is it was really cool this guy Tran Peter I don't know
he's from vietnam but lives in the US okay and I thought like that was cool
right because now I'm not really drink too much now they don't be more
responsible I think that vision I see the opportunity on that excites me that
I can have a team that's fucking amazing right and like so it's cool I think but
you have to talk what you have to have fun too because I got to like live with
that decision why did I run I want them to enjoy it right yeah you got to make
sure that your job is in control your life and if it does you got to make sure
you love your job right so yeah I mean I'm working hard but you know it's
everybody has a different path you can you can sit here and you can automate
stuff and do very well for yourself you know it's different however you want so for me I
love it I work my ass off now but I really do love it
you know but I just want to keep meeting cool people doing cool things helping
people and I think kind of what goes around comes around and you know pay it
forward so I have a really important question for you uh I think you like
ghost ghost like no I don't think about ghosts
you see you never seen one no ex-girlfriend ghost I feel like move
around but no yeah I've never seen a ghost
I think like I think they're out there for sure
yes I think they're out there but it's never kind of crossed my path alien
same kind thing there so all there but I haven't I haven't been out there no
never never they never seen an alien I'm not seeing him no I'm just going to go
see there but like any ghosts are watching right now I'm like I'm
definitely open to it yeah and I hear weird noises I think it
makes you think but I think as course the world she drive the University she
has to be other than in spirits and so that was lost
do you ever think about that Brown and brothers brown brother brown brothers
here you guys finding out that you talk to the people so they see you
you on the internet and you're fucking at the club and Vietnam with your posse
of women oh yeah mmm I got this fuck she's my best friend back home under
Mike we used to work together and hes still in boston but not
at brown brothers- we work together both quit at the same time but he sees
those people cuz he was around them and he still says like all these guys will
see like he'll say stuff about you like oh I see Ben and Vietnam so you
know but it's not a competition the end the day right we all have a chance right
but I'm here you good we gonna be happy honor um today you were printing out
50,000 copies 30 thousand now thirty thousand for this edition to
month's edition and then August September another 30,000 so you got to
go back I do your hand roll it yeah man I could use this print but it works but
for it man but you had 30,000 copies I'm really excited about I'm not paying for
it no i got sponsors but I got to make sure there's no errors in it
great so I'm excited about this and I admire what you're doing the jams
checking 30 you have to look through 30,000 of these and I'm gonna doll here I look
aall my intern but I appreciate and what you're doing
here - is really cool you crazy share you're in a new country yeah I'm gonna
