Why Hollywood Won't Cast Matthew Fox Anymore - Duration: 5:17.
Matthew Fox was on a major career roll for two decades.
He headlined not one but two popular shows in a row, with six seasons of the family drama
Party of Five and then six more years on the sci-fi mystery phenomenon Lost not long after.
As a result of this pair of beloved series, he had the rare distinction of being both
a heartthrob and a guy's guy, and seemed poised to launch from his wild island adventures
straight into the big time.
But the 2010s haven't been so kind to Fox, despite some notable big screen efforts on
his part.
Here are a few theories that explore why, lately, Matthew Fox has seemed so …
He broke big on TV
Fox established himself as a television star thanks to his turns as Charlie Salinger and
Jack Shepherd.
The small screen was his home from the get-go, having just a few film credits to his name
by the time Lost catapulted him into the spotlight.
But the silver screen still piqued his interest, and he tried out supporting roles in movies
like Smokin' Aces and We Are Marshall.
Neither of those were massive hits, but they did suggest that there might be a place for
him in the movie biz.
Unfortunately, a controversial show ending can follow an actor around like a dark cloud.
And few people would argue that Lost's finale was perhaps the worst show ending of all time.
It wasn't Fox's fault that the series ended on such a confusing and frustrating note.
But as the face of the series, there's a chance the blame could've fallen on him a little,
too — at least where ticket-buyers were concerned.
With audiences as upset as they were about the series' crazy conclusion, there's a very
real chance that some Fox fatigue set in as part of the fallout.
Hey, maybe the smoke monster will have better luck?
Big screen bombs
He may have proven that he can handle himself on a film set with his smaller outings, but
his should-be blockbuster debut Speed Racer was a car wreck.
It had a bloated budget and a lot of expectations behind it, but critics hated it, and it lost
a ton of money at the box office.
His big screen career had no hatch hideaway to shelter from this box office bomb.
The good news for Fox is that he was never really held accountable for the film's poor
performance.
But the wheels were already rolling in the wrong direction.
Then, Alex Cross happened.
Past adaptations of James Patterson's Alex Cross novels have done fairly well — movies
like Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider.
But Alex Cross failed to live up to its predecessors, despite some serious effort on Fox's part.
In the film, Fox played super bad guy Picasso, who tortured and maimed people for sport.
The actor reportedly dropped a whopping 20 percent of his weight to play the villain,
and shed his former image as the heroic Jack from Lost.
But despite how convincingly he played Picasso, the movie was absolutely trashed by critics
and — even worse — ignored by audiences.
Ouch.
Cutting room floor
Fox got one more shot in a film that actually did really well at the box office.
Too bad that his role was chopped to the point that no one knew he was actually in it.
The adaptation of Max Brooks' zombie epic World War Z was supposed to be something else
than what audiences saw in theaters.
But after the original cut was shot, a large chunk of the script was rewritten and reshot.
That left most of Fox's scenes on the editing room floor.
Fox would've starred as a colleague of Brad Pitt's Gerry Lane, caring for Lane's family
while he's off globe-trotting in an effort to stifle the undead epidemic, but his role
became a blink-and-you'd-miss-it parajumper scene.
"That's our target, get us down."
Seriously, that was it.
Hope you didn't blink...
All the wrong headlines
In August 2011, Fox's name was dragged through the mud as he was accused by a Cleveland woman
of punching her in the "arms, right leg, thighs and chest."
Later, his former Lost co-star Dominic Monaghan claimed on Twitter in 2012 that "he beats
women" as a reference to that event.
The woman's suit was ultimately dropped and Fox strongly denied the claims, but his reputation
was already sullied.
Fox denied the allegations completely in an interview with Ellen — but it's hard to
undo damage like that once it's been done.
Fox may have maintained his innocence of the assault charges he faced, but in 2012, he
was guilty of an entirely different crime.
He was arrested for driving under the influence in his home state of Oregon.
He did fess up to that incident on Ellen, insisting that he learned a hard lesson and
that he'd never do that again.
Even so, the combination of these tabloid-frenzied incidents certainly didn't help to elevate
his public profile.
Break from Hollywood
Even before things started to slow down for Fox's professional life, he'd already been
considering stepping away from the spotlight for a while.
Instead of living in Los Angeles like so many other stars, he lives in Oregon, where he
likes to fly planes and hang out with his family.
He told Men's Fitness in 2012 that he was considering retiring from the industry even
then, saying that if he didn't "get quality opportunities" he'd probably step away from
the scene.
Seems like he had a contingency plan in place the whole time!
But, for Fox fans hoping to see more of the actor, the good news is that he hasn't altogether
disappeared from the entertainment industry.
In 2015, he appeared in a pair of little-seen horror pics, Extinction and Bone Tomahawk,
the latter of which was very well received by critics, if not by audiences.
So, it seems he's not completely done with movies and television just yet.
In the meantime, we can watch endless Lost reruns and try to make heads or tails of what
was actually happening on that dumb island.
It's the mystery that keeps on giving.

How to Choose the Right Infrared Radiometer for your Application - Duration: 9:38.
Hello my name is Schuyler Smith and I do technical sales and support here at Apogee Instruments.
Today we're going to talk about choosing the right infrared radiometer for you.
Going through all the options of infrared radiometers, that Apogee Instruments has to offer.
We're going to cover all the field-of-view options.
We're going to cover the difference between the SI-100, SI-400, and SIF series,
and then we're going to go through a demonstration of using our field-of-view calculators
that we have available as an app and on the spreadsheet.
First thing, the SI-100 and SIF-100 series are both analog.
That means that they both require two channels in order to read them:
a differential channel to read the millivolt output from the thermopile
and then a single-ended channel in order to read the sensor body temperature,
which is the thermistor and so those thermistors are usually measured with half-bridge measurements.
The difference between the SI-100 and SIF-100 is that the SIF-100 is a fast-response,
has a 0.2 second response time, whereas, the SI-100 has a 0.6 second response.
Then you can see how that affects the signal size,
it being a much smaller signal between 5 and 15 micro volts per degree C on the SIF series,
whereas, the SI-100 is between 20 and 60 micro volts per degree C.
The SI-100 is ideal for static stations on traditional dataloggers.
The SIF-100 series is ideal if you're on a moving platform of some sort
doing measurements connected to data loggers that have that high resolution that can read that small signal.
The SI-400 series is all completely digital using the SDI-12 protocol.
That's ideal for your static stations that require multiple sensors
with a logger that can read that digital SDI-12.
Then in each one of those, we have the different field-of-view options
for the SI-100 and SI-400 series we have 4 field-of-view options.
From our narrowest 14 degree half angle field-of-view up to our horizontal field-of-view,
and then we report that in half angles.
If you want more information, you can click there on that website.
Unfortunately due to the small signal size, we only have three of those field-of-view options available.
We've put together this table to kind of explain a little bit better,
but for the largest field of view the 22 degree field-of-view we have the SI-111, SI-411, SIF-111, and MI-210.
The MI referring to the infrared radiometer connected to the hand-held meter that gives you that temperature.
You can look there to find your corresponding field-of-view for which model it corresponds with.
This is a great illustration showing that same concept.
The SI-111 is equal to th e 22 degree field-of-view.
You can see in this particular application where you're doing crop canopy that the SI-111
may not be ideal because it's seeing much more than just a crop.
It's seeing the trees and the mountains behind it, whereas,
the horizontal is seeing the most amount of the crop and just the crop without anything behind it.
We'll go through this next on the field-of-view calculator demonstration.
The field-of-view calculator is available as an app.
Just search for Apogee Instruments in your app store and you'll be able to find that
and a few other things we have to offer.
Then it's also available on our website and there's the link right there you can click on that,
and we'll just go to the website right now and go through that.
We'll just come here to apogeeinstruments.com.
Here we are on the webpage, on the homepage.
We'll come over here to support.
We will click there and then on the far side over here is infrared radiometers.
We'll click here.
Now, there is a lot of information on this page, a lot of the frequently asked questions.
If you have questions yourself, if this is going to fit for your application,
I would come look through here, and then a lot of helpful articles and links on trying to get that to work for you.
First one there being field-of-view explained,
I mentioned that on an earlier slide,
but that is the link that you want to look through if you want to get more information on that.
We're going to click on the second one here, field-of-view and canopy fraction calculators.
We just open this up here and it's going to say viewing angle and viewing height.
Let's just take for an example, let's say we wanted to do a 10 meter by 10 meter plot
and we want to measure the crop canopy inside this 10 meter by 10 meter plot.
We want to maximize our field-of-view to get as much of that in there as we can.
Let's start with the SI-111, which is equivalent to that 22 degree field-of-view
and let's just say that our viewing angle is 65 and our viewing height is 1.5 meters above the canopy.
If we calculate, it gives over here and says our field of view is seeing 122.8 meters squared, which is good information
It tells us the total surface area it is seeing but we don't really know how that's allocated.
To get those details we need to look at the excel sheet.
That's right here, this link here excel sheet program to calculate target area.
Download that and then open it up.
I've done that already so here's that excel sheet what it looks like and I've pre entered in these values.
I've chosen the SI-111, which is equivalent to 22 degree field-of-view,
65 degrees is our angle from the surface, and then 1.5 meters above the crop.
That gives us that same 122.82. If we scroll down, then we'll see those details.
First off, again we're trying to look at a 10 meter by 10 meter plot as our example.
We want to know what our length is from A to D (what our field-of-view is seeing).
If we come down here, we see right here it says 2 7.2.
That's way too long. We need to cut that down to 10.
Let's come back up and let's adjust the numbers.
Let's adjust this to 63 and be 1 meter above the crop.
We've significantly lowered this from 122 to 24.2; let's see how that allocates.
Our A to D is right here, 10.56. That's pretty close to our 10 meters.
Then our C to F or B would be our widest part.
We come down here. It's 1.46 so we need to double that so we have the full width, and that would be 3 meters.
Essentially we're at 3 meters wide and just over 10 meters long if we were to use the SI-111 in that application.
Let's look at what it would look like with the horizontal.
If we come over here and do the SI-1H1, let's go back to our original numbers of doing 65 and 1.5
(that's 65 degrees with our height being 1.5 meters above the crop canopy).
Then if we come down here, we can get our details.
We want to know first what is our length that we're looking at, and so we need to know G2 to G1.
That's equal to V right here and it says it's 5.14.
It is less than our 10 meters so that's good.
We could possibly maximize that some more, but that's less.
Then let's figure out our widest part or G2 to F times 2 is equivalent right here to 8.05.
That's not maximized either; that's less than our 10 meters.
We can come back up here and adjust them.
Let's actually just adjust it to 2.0 meters above the crop, leaving the angle the same.
We've almost doubled our surface area from 27 to 48 meters squared.
Then we'll come down here and look at V; it is now 6.85 meters long.
We're closer, we're still within that 10 meters.
Then our width, which is G2 to F is here, 10.73.
We're just over that 10 meters, but we're pretty close.
We could obviously dial that in to maximize it.
You can see in this example of our 10 meter by 10 meter square plot
that the horizontal does a lot better covering more surface area and
maximizing that field-of-view. Now as you can see in these examples,
we we're doing pretty specific angles. In order to get those angles,
I highly recommend using some sort of angle locator, angle finder so you can get that right on 62 degrees or 65 degrees.
We resell these, but you can of course buy your own or find your own anywhere,
just so you can get those angles exactly where you want them.
That concludes our video today on the infrared radiometer, choosing the right one for you .
If you have any questions, feel free to comment below and we'll get right back to you on those.
Then if you'd like to also just click right here and you can subscribe to all of our Apogee Instruments videos.
Thank you.

Hi, Today I want to show you
How I will make this fairy house lamp.
I use cardboard and I will start to make a base.
and for this I need a square.
Now I will make back sides of house.
and here is one side of the house
and I will transfer this same shape on the second part.
Now I will make a front part of house.
Now I will measure half the width
I make a mark lateral side and for front part of house
I will make this lateral side smaller.
and now I will make a shape of roof.
I will cut out this part.
and now I will draw the door and windows.
I will cut out the door and windows.
and now I use ice sticks
to decorate the front part of house.
I will do this same with the door.
Now I will make a hole to the base.
I will fix back parts to the base for help I use paper tape
After drying I remove paper tape.
and I will fix with glue decorating paper.

I will fix felt on the backside of the door.
and I will cut out remaining felt except one side.
and I will clean sides with rope.
I will do this same with windows and the door.
Now I will fix the door to the front part of the house.
and I will decorate the base with ice sticks too.
I will do this same from other side.
and now it's time to clean side with rope.
Now I use skewers to decorate windows.
Now I use translucent paper
and I will fix this paper on the backside of house
and again I will cut out remaining paper.
and I will fix the front part to lateral sides.
and again I use rope for clean sides.
on the back side I attach hook for hanging.
and now it's time to make a roof.
I will make a copy backside of the roof.
I will cut out remaining cardboard.
Now I will make a mark on the front side
about 3 centimeters from the house.
I will cut out remaining cardboard.
Now I will covered bottom side of the roof with felt
I will cut out remaining felt.

Thank You For 200 Subscribers! - Doing Some Random Parkour - DragoNate Daily Vlog - Duration: 4:30.
well hey there happy Tuesday and happy 200 subscribers thank you guys so much
this is so cool I didn't think that we would get this far this quickly because
we literally just got to a hundred what feels to be only a month or two ago it
was at the beginning of the year so it's like four months fast
five months six months it's six months ago actually Wow time flies my goodness
gracious it feels like it was only two months ago oh my okay well that's still
super cool and I thank you guys so much for that
now today was a great day I finished setting up a bunch more of the stuff
that I've been doing a lot of it has to do with my website if you didn't know I
do have a website there's a link in the description down below
it is Shauni - dragon dot me Shauni is spelled S H A U N I - dragon dot me and that
is my website and that's part of what these drawings that i was talking about
are going to be and what those are actually for I'm just going to say now
although this isn't the official I guess announcement informational video about
it but that will be coming very soon and everything is you know 100% set up and
all that but what that's for is I have recently just set up a Gamewisp page
and if you don't know what Gamewisp is is very similar to Patreon it's kind of
geared more towards twitch users and because they have their own subscribe
button and because you know with twitch you have to meet certain requirements
before people can actually subscribe to you but it also works through YouTube
and it's the same thing with patreon where you can offer you know so many
different tiers I think a maximum of six only and you know different benefits for
that kind of thing now I'm not going to tell you guys what the page is for it
yet because it's not actually launched yet but I wanted to do something fun
with the tiers and the tier names and that so I decided to draw all these
different Cheers and that kind of thing that's
actually two more because there are six tiers so there's two more there that I
didn't actually draw one of them as a compilation of all of these the other is
just my original Shauni dragon and those represent the tier names and
pictures for the tiers and I think that's really cool and I think it's
going to be really fun now I don't want to keep you guys waiting too much longer
before you get to see theparkour clips from tonight which there weren't that
many and tonight actually felt a little bit off a little bit wrong I guess my
mom wasn't feeling too great so she stayed in the car and I went and changed
a little bit and I was leaving much much earlier than I normally would but I
still did some stuff I still had a lot of fun I still enjoyed it and it was
great and of course you guys get to see this parkour clip so please enjoy
tonight I didn't really do anything specific I had to kind of just did a
bunch of random things I went with what was already there and the way it was
placed and then set up a couple of things for for other things because I'm
like oh I see this thing that's already half set out and like I want to add this
to it so that's what I did and yeah so it was one of them but that's it for now
so I hope you guys have a great Wednesday and I will see you guys again
tomorrow so Godbless

Zhiyun Crane Stabilizer Full Sprint Test - Duration: 2:44.
Alright so that was the video quick right there.
If you've been following this channel you know how big of a fan I am of the Zhiyun Crane.
I've made a bunch of videos which I'll link below, some reviews, tutorials, things like
that.
But I wanted to give you a few details about that shot just to really show off how capable
this thing is.
Now that was slowed down a little bit.
I admittedly did not necessarily think it would hold up as well as it did.
I did shoot in 60 frames per second which I almost never do.
You've probably heard me in other videos, I don't like slow motion, I don't use it.
You know, plenty of people do, which is great for their style, it's just not my style.
Like I said, I knew that I was going to, I mean this bride and groom was into it, they
were going for a run, that was awesome.
I knew that I would be running full speed, you know, as full speed as you can go with
a stabilizer, and you know, in a suit at a wedding.
Now not to brag at all, I'm a pretty fast guy, so this, I mean we were moving.
I was booking it, I was out of breath after a little bit and this think held up so well.
I'm so impressed with the footage.
As you can see it is just buttery smooth, and again this is slowed down a little bit.
This is actually now fully slowed down, so this is not, whatever it is 40 percent speed
or something.
I think I only slowed it down about 30 percent, so I believe it's 70 percent speed in this
video.
I am going to play it one more time, but again, I absolutely love this thing.
We came from the ronin.
It has matched or exceeded my expectations.
I think quality of the footage is for sure as good as the ronin, if not better.
You know, it's smaller, it's lighter, much better for a wedding in my opinion.
Of course, it depends what camera you're trying to fly.
And again I did team up with Zhiyun US to offer all of my subscribers 10 percent off
which is awesome.
I'll link that video below so you can get a little bit of a discount.
This thing is already much cheaper than a lot of the stabilizers out there, and much
better than the ones in it's price range I'd say.
But this lets you get a little bit of money off there as well.
So again, if you guys have any questions, I'd love to answer them.
Any videos you want to see in the future, comment below as well.
And of course, like and subscribe, follow along as we create more videos, here's that
clip one more time for you.
Thanks!

Top 5 Pokemon Ash Barely Used - Duration: 8:35.

This is us! #teamstarstable - Duration: 3:22.
for me riding is like a Passion. It's like I just can't stop thinking about it and
I'm always working on myself so I can support my horse better. 'Cause it's never the horses
but always the riders fault. I always loved horse or animals in general since I was Little.
I've grown up with Dogs, but when I was with horses there was always
this special feelings they just made me feel comfortable and they still do I then
started riding when I was nine years old but after year I stoped because I
started vaulting and I was back in Germany because I was for one year in
France. I wasn't bad at all at vaulting I was even doing competitions and all that
stuff and I won some prizes . Once I was even second was my team. But I just started
missing this teamplay with the horse- this special feeling was it was just gone.
so I started to ride again and I really learned a lot since then
my ex-racehorse Monty was always my friend with my family my supporter and
my teacher and I really really love him a lot and now it's my part to give him
back what he needs I of Course still ride and work him but I'm
really more giving him the love he needs and taking care of him because
that's really what he should get. so my father buyed me my German Sporthorse "Salinka"
for the big sport of Course. yeah thank you again mom and dad that you are always
supporting me. I could not do all of this is you were'nt there.
I have Salinka now since February 2017 she's only five years old and I'm really not
a professional. so we have a lot to learn but with her have this feeling
when I first saw her it was like BAM that's my horse that's my once in a lifetime horse
,that's my little star we will reach all our goals she's yeah it's just
this Feeling. sometimes I can barely hold her back and have big problems riding
her on the bit and she's sometimes doing what she wants but I know that it's
worth it to fight 'cause alsways when we do some jumping I have the Feeling that I
can see how her eyes get big and she's happy about that and it's really the
same thing I was Feeling too - yeah so the most important thing for me that
we get a team so that we can work with each other and then against each other
My first big goal is that I can start my first competition and fly over the obstacles with her
Later I would love to compete in a the three-day event - that's really a big dream
of mine and I'm looking forward to the day when I competeing my the first time.
Really thank you SSO for this opportunity I think that it's really an amazing
project and can really help a lot of young riders that Need this support
Even if I won't get part of the #teamstarstable
I really wish all you talented riders out there so much luck. Please never give
up on your dreams and always continue whatever happens
