Recognizing and Addressing Microaggressions 2 - Duration: 2:58.

So I want to define it for those of you who are either fuzzy on the definition

or have never heard of it but before I do that,

take a look at these images that I stole from Google,

and reflect on these for just a moment.

Can you all read these ok? I can read them to you.

This one says, "You're so articulate."

This one says, "He's gay but he's like the greatest guy in the world!"

This one says, "Courtney, I never see you as a black girl."

Well, what do you see me as then?

This one says, "Dear Dr. and Mrs. Rivera." This is on an invitation that they received.

This one says, "No, you're white."

This one says—oh this is kind of hard to read—she said,

it says, "You're really pretty for a dark skin girl."

And this one says, "No, I will not teach you how to twerk."

These are actually fairly common

everyday phrases that people say

to other people. They're often well-intentioned

and they may not realize the impact that it has on the person who's receiving that particular comment or behavior.

Again, before I go on to the definition of microaggression,

here's the goal today—it's pretty simple—I'm hoping you leave today with

a better understanding of how to recognize,

interrupt, or disrupt, and resolve, or repair, microaggression.

We all have microaggressive behavior

—every single one of us—and it's related to

the biases that we develop over time, so please do not

expect that you're going to leave this room and no longer have microaggressive behavior,

that's unrealistic, but we will begin the conversation today

and you will be able to begin to become

more familiar with your own language and your own interactions with others.

Let's look at the definition.

People who are smarter than I am

have come up with this definition for microaggression and it says,

"Microaggression is subtle verbal and/or nonverbal slights,

insults, indignities, and denigrating messages

directed toward an individual due to their group identity."

These are often done automatically,

they're often done unconsciously,

and as I mentioned just a moment ago, they're usually done by people who are very well-intentioned.

They have no idea they just perhaps offended someone.

They're often unaware of the hidden messages

behind their words or their actions and behaviors.

today we have another game system to review

It's the PAP 1000 GameBox/Multimedia Player

As you can see it's designed after the slim model of the Playstation 2

It says here, it supports PS2 wired and wireless controllers

Also, it says the console has 2GB FLASH ROM built-in memory with games

Here we have pictures of characters from TEKKEN

And these are what's inside the box including a CD

Made in China of course

Let's do a quick unboxing

very similar to the Playstation 2

but 10 times lighter

and dismantle the unit

and see what is inside

Surprisingly, we do have an actual electronic circuit

no COBs here

and apparently, we do have a USB port

but they decided to hide it inside. I don't know why!

Now let's have a closer look at these chips

But before we do that, let me unplug this connector

The main Chip is the JZ4755

which is a CMOS 32-bit Multimedia application processor

made by Ingenic

here we have two Samsung branded SDRAMs

and here we have a flash memory also from Samsung

small chip here is the..

CD4017 Decade counter

finally this chip here is unidentified so we don't know

There is a date printed here on the PCB

It says 29th of April 2015.

I don't know if this was the manufacture date or not

This is the hidden USB

which I will connect to the PC later and see if I can access the built-in games

We have some labelings going on here

I'm happy to see that they included a USB port here

even though it was hidden
