[sigh]
Want to do it with me this time?
[sigh]
Feels pretty good, doesn't it?
Sighing is one of those universal human experiences.
For people around the world, taking a deep breath has a calming power,
and it's part of the way we experience and communicate emotion.
But it turns out that the assumptions we make when we hear other people sighing
… aren't always right.
The reasons we sigh start with biology, because your lungs actually need
to sigh just keep functioning properly.
When you take a deep breath, you're kind of rebooting them.
When you're breathing normally for a while, that's what scientists call
eupneic breathing—meaning that it's normal and unlabored.
And if you just let people sit with their eupneic breathing for a while,
eventually they'll take a breath that's about twice the usual volume of air,
which is what we tend to call a sigh.
That's usually followed by what's known as a post-sigh apnea—
a little gap between breaths that's a bit longer than normal.
This big breath pushes you to fully expand your alveoli—
the tiny air sacs that fill up your lungs.
And that helps keep your lungs from collapsing, which is good,
because collapsing is a very bad thing that you really don't want your lungs to do.
Researchers have found that people's breathing becomes more variable
just before they sigh, and it's a little more consistent afterward.
So it really is like your lungs get a reset.
Generally, you need to sigh every 5 minutes or so just to keep your lungs in working order.
You even sigh in your sleep, although that tends to be less often.
But there are lots of factors that can change the pattern of when you sigh—
like stress—and that's where the psychology comes in.
Psychologists have known for a while that breathing patterns are related to emotions.
But sighing is weird because it seems to be related to both positive and negative emotions.
For example, you might sigh because you're stressed or frustrated,
but you might also do it because you're feeling relaxed.
One way to explain the contradiction is that sighing could have a lot to do with relief:
you do it because you're feeling relieved, or because you're stressed out
and your brain is trying to make you feel more relieved.
In a 2009 study published in the journal Psychophysiology,
a group of Belgian researchers decided to test this idea.
In three separate experiments, the team made a total of 115 people
listen to an obnoxiously loud white noise turn on and off.
They used different shapes on a screen to signal whether a noise was coming.
One shape meant guaranteed irritation, one meant the subject was safe,
and one meant there was a 50-50 chance that they'd have to hear the noise.
The researchers found that people sighed a little more
while they were hearing the noise, but a lot more once it was over.
And, when they were asked about their emotions during the experiment,
people who sighed more also rated themselves as feeling more relieved.
But it didn't matter if it was relief from the obnoxious sound ending
or just from discovering they didn't have to hear the sound.
They'd sigh just because of the relief from the anticipation of the stress.
So if sighing has to do with feeling relieved or relaxed,
it makes sense that it would be associated with a lot of different emotions.
If you're taking a stressful test, for example, you might sigh in relief
once you finish a problem, but you might also sigh while you're working on
the next problem to try to make yourself feel more relieved and lower your stress levels.
Some psychologists have proposed that because people tend to sigh
when they're feeling relief from stress, humans learned to
interpret sighing from others as a signal of safety.
Which would explain why sighing seems to be a little contagious—
it's like your brain is thinking "oh, my friend thinks that tiger's gone?
I guess I can take a breath too."
But now that most of us don't spend our days trying to evade tigers,
we read into sighing a little differently—and sometimes not as accurately.
For example, in a 2008 study, 117 people were given hypothetical stories
about someone sighing and asked what they thought the sigh meant.
Usually, they assumed it meant something negative—most often sadness.
And if the story was about someone sighing alone,
people interpreted the feeling as more intense.
But if they were told to imagine themselves in the story,
they came up with more varied responses, like maybe they were frustrated or just tired or bored.
So, when you hear someone sigh, it could mean that they're sad—
but it's worth keeping in mind that there are lots of other possibilities too.
They could be stressed, or frustrated, or even experiencing a moment of calm and
[sigh] taking a breath.
Or it could just be a totally involuntary response to keep their lungs working properly.

Belkin WeMo SWITCH - CONTROL YOUR HOME FROM ANYWHERE | Christmas Gift Ideas | Get Fixed - Duration: 2:04.
The Wemo switch is a pretty good Christmas gift might I say what's up
guys Bendji D here from Get Fixed and today we're gonna be taking a look at
the Wemo switch it is made by the company Belkin and says the iPhone home
remote but it is compatible with both iOS and Android devices 4.0 and higher
let's get it has a plug-in socket that allows you to hook up any home appliance
in order control it with your phone so let's say for example I hook up a lamp
or a light bulb to this switch I should be able to turn it on and off using my
phone simply by going to the Wemo switch app you do have an ability to control
Wemo switch using alexa here's how so you pretty much download Wemo switch app
you download the alexa amazon app and on the amazon alexa app you download
the skill and then on Wemo you change your appliances name into something else
so say for example i want to control the AC i'll change the name from Wemo switch
over to AC so every time i say Alexa turn on AC it'll know to turn on the
AC because WeMo Switch is named after that so here's how you set it up first
you download the Wemo switch app and it's pretty much gonna guide you step by
step on what you're supposed to do to pair it you go into settings and make
sure your phone is hooked up to the same Wi-Fi as the Wemo switch once again
it'll guide you on how to do that hook it up to the wall output and set a
specific time so let's say Thursday at 6 p.m. on January 13 right it'll turn on
Thursday 6 p.m. January 13 the Wemo switch can be turned on and off manually
with a simple click of a button you can control home electronics from pretty
much anywhere and you can tell it what day and time to turn on and off if this
LED indicator is orange you did the wrong process first of all if it's blue
good job the restore button is to pretty much reset it to its factory default
settings everything's pretty much gonna be cleared out whether that's your name
your Wi-Fi setting all of that you can find this item down in the video
description below and that pretty much wraps it up for this video guys thank
you for watching Bendji D. here from Get Fixed and I'm never in I am never in so

Bill Poteet: Bachelor of General Studies `17, University of Missouri - Duration: 1:58.
My name is Bill Poteet. I'm from Naples, Florida, and my degree is in General Studies.
Mizzou is in my blood. My grandfather was an SAE here. My uncle was a Sigma Chi here.
My father was a Phi Psi. He met my mother when she was a pledge at Gamma Phi Beta.
When it came time for me to go to school, I had no choice.
I went to Mizzou for three years and, then, I just wasn't able to finish it.
And so I was able to come back now and get my degree.
It was something that I really wanted to do and I'm something I'm very proud of.
I left school in 1973. My sister was in a boating accident. I stayed there while she was recovering.
Intended to come back, but then life took over, so I went on. Got a job. Did what I needed to do.
But later on, this was a kind of a nagging thorn in my side.
This school made it very easy for me to go and finish my degree and so I would advocate to come to Mizzou.
Hi, I'm Chris Poteet. I am a business major and I'm from Naples, Florida.
This is my dad, Bill, and he's graduating today.
I took classical mythology. It was the first course I took.
So, when my son was picking out some courses, I suggested he take classical mythology.
He's like, "Alright, well, now you're taking the class, you have to get an 'A' in it".
I'm like, "Well is that cause you got an 'A' ?" and he's like "Yes. If I got an 'A', you can get an 'A'".
"Same professor. Same class."
He kept telling me how he really enjoyed Professor Crozier and his lectures.
That was the only thing I did not get to see.
I saw his lectures in writing. He saw them in live-action.
"They were amazing." "I would like to see that."
It's getting close to finals week and I'm seeing, I've got, I could gonna end with an 'A' minus.
And then, he's like, "Ha!" I beat you." And I'm like, "I still got an 'A' minus. He's like, "Yeah, well I got an 'A' plus".
The important part of the whole story is we both had a great time taking that particular course.
It was lots of fun.
It was enjoyable.
I mean, I'm proud of the fact that he's gone back and set, like, he's setting an example, essentially, for me.
Exuberant,
elated,
satisfied,
and proud.

Camille Hackamack: Master of Education in Positive Coaching `17, University of Missouri - Duration: 1:45.
My name is Camille Hackamack and I'll be receiving a degree in
Master's of Education, School, and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Positive Coaching.
I'm actually a learning specialist, so I work with all the student athletes with learning disabilities.
I'm also an academic coordinator for volleyball so I'm a hybrid role and I love being able
to make an impact on student athletes, just like other people had an impact on me.
So I was a student athlete, here at Mizzou, between 2010 and 2015. I was on the track and field team.
I've always loved education and I knew that I wanted
to work in athletics, and so I decided that I really wanted to go back and
pursue a master's in education to help balance out my knowledge and my background.
The faculty and staff is awesome in positive coaching.
They are more than willing to help you and they may be thousands of miles away,
but you can reach out to them, email them, call them, and they are always more than willing to help.
But what I also loved is that they are real people in this industry.
They are coaches. They are administrators. They are athletic directors.
And so you are getting their real-world experience.
Your classmates, your peers, that are also taking this program from all over the world,
you will get so many perspectives.
I really love all of the values that Mizzou embodies, like respect, discovery, responsibility, and excellence.
So, to have the opportunity to continue to represent Mizzou, it feels exhilarating.
I am so happy to be able to walk. I didn't get to walk from my undergrad, being in SEC championships.
This is a very special day.

Roswell 1947... the alien landing.
Landing? It doesn't seem to me it was something they wanted!
So it really happened?
The ship was shot down it didn't "land".
And the bodies of the aliens are in the Area 51!
I never went checking...
let's say I'm not in good terms with the Greys!
And with military neither!
Let's talk about Planet Nibiru... Planet-X
Wow such an imagination! There's no Nibiru
tho I once knew an alien princess with that name... two bigs...
VINCENT!
Ok sorry... no no Nibiru...
no roaming planet which would also be scientifically hilarious and...
Chemitrails!
What?
Chemtrails... what can you tell me?
But you also want to know if Kennedy was killed by aliens?
Is it so?
No, figures? - But...
Excuse me for a moment - Vincent!
Oh hi Phyl... Do you remember right?
Oh... my pleasure...
Mary-Ann do you mind if we continue the interview later?
No problem! See you soon!
Phyl you saved me from very imbarassing questions!
Roswell... Nibiru... chemitrails...
You talked to her about Nibiru and chemtrails?
No... are you crazy? To a human??
Anyway a friend of mine received from another friend...
that got it from a fencer on Alget IV... that...
Phyl... short version!
Oh sorry...alright...he found a videomessage for you.
alright, on screen...
Vincent...
I know that you will never be able to forgive me for what I did but...
there was a reason.
I cannot explain anything now,
but if all our years of friendship mean something,
please stop to look for me!
I'll get in contact and I'll explain everything... as soon as I can.
Please forgive me!
Oh...mmmm...I don't really know what to think...
he caught me off-guard.
What do you think to do?
Well...Mc is a friend from many years,
we saved our lives mutually more and more times,
I think that I owe him at least the benefit of the doubt
I will wait as he asked!
Yes maybe you're right... - For now let's wait...
Anyway, just so you don't get bored, I've a little job for you!
Hoping it's well paid!
Do you think so?
It's not possible... I have to put it in the contracts
"Not walking like a dog"!
damn...it's uncomfortable... I'm not a young alien anymore!
So I have to steal the jewels of...
Oh sorry - Oh sorry
And what the hell are you doing here? - And what the hell are you doing here?
Divergences and convergences of the time line...
Second year, theory of Schak-zun!
Do you come from my future?
I think so...I don't wear the top hat from a while...
You should... you're losing hair!
And you should work out since the fat on the hips!
Ok...let's quit this... what are you looking for?
The jewels obviously
Ehm already done!
But it's nonsense..a paradox...
I don't remember to having stolen them in the past!
Actually something's not right.
Paradoxes get me a headache!
And I also have to avoid spoilers.
Well usually I don't care about that...
Yes...but...trust me... it's better this way.
And what do we do now?
Are we gonna wait for the time line to stabilize and one of us to disappear... or both?
Let me think...
unless there's a space and time distorsion nearby...
..that took us to the divergence...
I beg you...finishing the phrases is kinda pathetic eh...
Oh...sorry!
Wait!
Phyl?
Vincent! Have you found the jewels?
Yes, kinda but... not only that...
Oh....crap...
Yes and this is a real mess!
We're virtually identical so there's no way to stabilize
the distorsion, which I don't even know where it is!
I'm picking that up! And now I understand why!
Explain!
The moment one of you two stole the jewels
he didn't notice a hidden alarm that opens a space
e and time distorsion trap...
Idiot!
The distorsion had to capture the thief
but for some reason it didn't work well and...
.it mixed with the line where you were arriving years later...
Complicated but...correct...so?
So I have to close the fissure and send the other Kosmos home...
Eh...yes...obvious...but HOW???
Do I have to explain everything?? Uff
you use a quantic energy on the distorsion vector
then invert the polarity of the neutron flow...and voilà!
It seems easy
You shut up, you already made enough mistakes...amateur!
EHI!
Move out, I'm gonna close this thing!!!
Ah well...a little thing eh... not so little
Damn I don't have enough power to half-close it...
close it my ass!
No...nothing
Phyl...the quantic isn't enough...
I'm using a XD-23 model and I thought it had enought power
Do you douse a fire with a water gun?
Boh...well it happened in fact... and also with...ehm...ok
I mean...the model Y-2000 is already out and it has triple power...
Sure now I'm leaving and I'm gonna buy it... do you know where I am?
Yes...I should have one from a client that "forgot" it here ehm...
Oh...really?
You'll pay it back with little payments! - Phyl...
Ok...ok...I'm sending it right now!
Wow...this is a quantum lockpick...
You are my new best friend...
You...you're retired! Thank you for you service!
Problem solved! - And why am I still here?
But was I so dumb years ago?
Will I be so Mr Know-it-all in the future?
Uff...anyway point the quantic on the frequency 3 Verteron and 4 squared and I'll do the same...
with more energy the new model should take you home...
Thank God...I was starting to get on my nerves...
doh...he left the jewels here!!!
Fruitful day after all!
Fruitful? I would say this is your last day Kosmos!
WH...who...how?
Today you'll die..time thief!
I don't think so... Protocol Teta!
ARGH...damn...I will find you...
Who the hell was that? Why? What does he wanted?
What does he wanted?
You're lucky metian...very lucky...
but luck runs out for everybody!!!

I hate my natural hair - Duration: 7:40.
Hi guys! In today's video we're going to talk about
the way we view our hair
Disclaimer : my channel is about natural hair so I'm always going to push this agenda
But if you have relaxed hair or think about relaxing it, no problem! Who am I to judge ?
So I'm going to talk to you about my own experience, how I went from regarding my hair as an iron bullet
around my ankle to now, seeing it as one of my striking feature
(music)
I've not always liked my hair, actually, I hated it when I was younger
I really didn't like it
It had nothing to do with self hatred
Or not being able to accept myself
It was practical, I didn't like my hair because I had extremely thick and frizzy, coily hair
And it was difficult to tame it (let alone take care of it)
For me, the styling proces was just a torture
And when my mother would take her purple comb (it was a fine tooth comb)...
I would die a little inside
All I wanted as a little girl was to have straight hair
Hair you could detangle without having your comb hitting a knot every 2 seconds
Without having to pull my hair to remove all the knots
...even if it meant tear off my head at the same time
I just wanted the styling proces to be shorter and less painful
But I don't blame my mother: she always did what she could with what she had
And she did a great job given the compliments we received about our hairstyles, my sister and I
So when did my mind changed about my hair ?
Well, it changed when I started to ask myself the right questions
When I stopped wondering how to straighten my hair (it really didn't help me)
And started to think "how can I care for my hair as it is?"
(Why don't I have long hair ?!)
(this was actually the main question)
It really gave me the keys of the gates to the natural hair world, they opened, I jumped in...
And I never came back
From then, I discovered lots of things and experimented with my hair
And did things I didn't think were possible with it
And I acquired more self-confidence
That's why I think here lies the key if you have a hard time accepting your hair
Ask yourself the right questions
Ok, you don't like your hair but what don't you like about it ? Be more specific
Is it its length, is it too dry, is it damaged, is it its texture ?
For most of the questions you have, you can find answers if you're ready to look out for them
You also need to be able to see yourself in a positive light and acknowledge the things
you like about your hair
Like its volume or its curls
And these are the things you want to keep, the things you want people to see
As I said it, it's easy to find solutions if you look out for them, there's a lot of information
Because everything is just one click away with Internet
But you need to stay critical because you find so much information and advice
You'll see lots of people telling you to do something and then the opposite
So you need to be able to sort what is going to be useful for you and what is not
And adjust it to your needs and personnality
Because most of the people you see, you watch on YouTube
(I include myself in those people)
Except if they are professionals like hairdressers
Can only talk about their own experience and it's, of course, different than yours
So, again, you need to be wise about what you see and hear on the Internet
Don't compare yourself to anybody you see, especially not to people
Who have different type of hair, different texture
Why ? Because it means their hair has different needs
And sometimes it's really frustrating when you have extremely frizzy, coily hair, you'd like it to be curly
Because we think it looks better and it's easier to take care of it
But having these kind of thoughts regularly
Get your in a negative state of mind
You're going to be very frustrated
And rough with your hair
Try to find some kind of model, a person who has hair that looks like yours
Because it's going to create some kind of connection
And you'll see that there are people with your type of hair who "succeed"
But also that that person, if she's honest, and shows you the good and the bad,
also has problems sometimes, just like you
Sometimes she feels frustrated about her hair, she might want to give up, her hair comes out the wrong way
So you'll see that this person also struggles
Just like you
And it will make your life easier (not trying to be mean)
Because you then see that we're all on the same boat
And it's always better to suffer together than suffering alone
I also want to say something to mothers here who might have daughters with natural hair
Teach them to like their hair it's extremely important
Tell them how much of a good thing this hair can be!
Even if it's different from what they typically see [on TV]
Show them that they can do many things with if, there are plenty of possibilities!
It's unlimited!
And that it can be really fun to play with it
So that they don't think that taking care of their hair is a chore
But regard it as an activity that makes it possible for them to take care of themselves
And they'll also have more self-confidence
I give you all this tips but don't forget that the acceptance is not going to come at all once;
If you really want to work on that and learn to embrace your hair you need to be patient
It doesn't happen in one night
You don't wake up thinking :
I loooooooooooooove my natural hair!
No!
It doesn't happen like that
Again, you need to be patient, let yourself (and your hair) some time to mature that
And be gentle with it
Because when we're angry, when we're upset we tend to be rough with it
And it won't help you to like it
But if even after all this questionning, you still can't stand your hair
Then do what you have to do with it!
The goal is to feel good about yourself
And this mane of yours
This concludes today's video, for people who have a hard time dealing with their hair
I hope I was able to help you a little bit at least
If you liked this video, give it a thumbs up and if you have any question, leave it in the comment section
And subscribe to my channel for more content
I'll see you in the next video, until then, take care of yourself...and your hair! :)

January 13 the Wemo switch can be turned on and off manually
with a simple click of a button you can control home electronics from pretty
much anywhere and you can tell it what day and time to turn on and off if this
LED indicator is orange you did the wrong process first of all if it's blue
good job the restore button is to pretty much reset it to its factory default
settings everything's pretty much gonna be cleared out whether that's your name
your Wi-Fi setting all of that you can find this item down in the video
description below and that pretty much wraps it up for this video guys thank
you for watching Bendji D. here from Get Fixed and I'm never in I am never in so
I'm out.... Peace!

Kevin Poeter: Master of Education in Positive Coaching `17, University of Missouri - Duration: 2:00.
My name is Kevin Poeter and I've just graduated with a Master's in Education
with my emphasis in Positive Coaching.
My career is a retired businessman and
I coach youth baseball and youth hockey and I took this program to better myself.
Just Google search "positive coaching online" and there was few schools in the UK that came up,
quite a few in the United States, and then I did my due diligence and research.
Yeah, there was one, one line that was highlighted
online that said "winning in the lives of your kids matter".
It's hard to exalt winning and not at the expense of the kids. One seems to be at the replace of the other.
And that was the catalyst that made me choose this school.
Is there a way to win more?
And winning, not in the scoreboard but winning in...
...making the kids, child's, players better human beings.
You asked me if there was some feelings of isolation.
Yeah, I would have to say there was at the start.
I'd never submitted a paper online. Of course, first one I submitted, I didn't put my name on. So, yeah, there was.
The faculty here is spectacular.
They work with you. It's about inclusion. It's about drawing out your best.
It was like the whole situation was geared for my learning style.
The content was what I needed to hear at the particular time. It changes the way you think on a daily basis, so
once you learn, you change, you grow, there's no going back.
I would say I put it into practice in my life right away.
In fact, it was the highlight, truly was the highlight of my life. Fifty-five.
Kevin Poeter, Educational, School and Counseling Psychology.
Start right now. That's the only mistake I made is I didn't start sooner.
It's a life-changing, positive experience. Equips you to change the world.

"Camille Sydney Hackamack, Education, School and Counseling Psychology"
You only have so many opportunities to get a master's and why not do it now?
