Cabinet Scraper Honing Guide | Paul Sellers - Duration: 9:35.

a lot of times when I've been working with students I've found that they can't

seem to get the bevel on the number 80 cabinet scraper dead on the 45 degrees

that helps establish a really good turned edge for this particular scraper

so let's go ahead and take this one out and I'll show you what I did to resolve

it I made one of these this is a honing guide it's got a an angle cut in here

dead-on 45 degrees it's got a little turn button under here that locks this

in place so that when you clamp this in the vise with the piece of steel in with

the plate in it doesn't slip so I'm going to make one for you then you'll

see exactly how it's done I've got a piece of wood it's 3/4 thick 2 and 3/4

wide and I think it's a nine and a half inches long so I'm just going to eyeball

a centerline there's my centerline here and then I'm going to come either side

of that about a millimeter and a half because that's just going to Center the

saw in this cut so I'm going to be making this I'm going to put a 45 degree

bevel on here and I'm going to go down 6 inches from the end so I'm going to go

into here there and that leaves enough body of wood to resist splitting when I

actually do put the blade in and I clamp it in the vise 45 degrees on here just

as a ballpark guide this is just helping me to see where I want this to go and

then just with a handsaw and you might need to check that the hand saw kerf is

similar sized to the plate steel that's going in there but I wouldn't obsess

over it because when you put it in the vise it does take up the slack

and I've got a block of wood I've already cut this so I'm ready this I'm

going to screw on here somewhere near the end so I'm going to drill a hole to

receive the chunk of the screw here so that it comes in the middle of this

midsection and in the middle of the block that's going to turn I don't want

I want it to be less than flush on this outside edge so that when it clamps in

the vise it doesn't catch there I am through that first section switch my

blade out a bit so we're going to start the screw in here I'm going to clamp it

in the vise just to make sure nothing twists on me so this needs to twist

because I've got to open this up to allow the blade to go in here and this

is the simple bit I'm going to clamp it again because I open this up with a

screwdriver just the end of a screwdriver so I'm going to file this

out open it up slide it into position no I'm gonna have to go back

so I'm going to have to I'm going to slide this into position here it's going

to stick past this surface by about a millimeter that's all let go

like that and then turn this this locks this bottom part here and stops it from

sliding so that when we put it in the vise this stays level lock this in the

vise and it'll cinch up on the blade leave it just above the bench top about

quarter of an inch cinch it nice and tight now we're ready to file so we're

going to use this as a registration face and we just file through file from here

like this until we've got that bevel where we want it like that and then

we're going to draw file it so that was through filing that doesn't give us the

smoothness that we want doesn't give us a continuous spiral on the shaving so

now we draw file this by pushing this like this and that takes off long

spirals of steel there's one draw it up so you can see this is a long spiral

it's like a continuous shaving like we would get in wood if we countered the

plane to one side so we get the same effect with this and then we're ready to

hone this bevel so we just take a paddle now you could use abrasive paper a very

fine abrasive paper on a block of wood but I'm just using diamonds and I just

polished this now so I'm honing this to 1200 grit that's giving me the polished

edge that I want and that's basically the work of getting the bevel done so

it's nice and smooth now it will be a sharp edge now but it's got a burr on

the other side so now we're going to take this take it out of the holder and

we're going to just polish up the face the big flat face to remove the burr on

the diamond plate and then we're going to turn the edge and we'll show you how

it works so now I'm ready to just buff out polish that burr off the other side

I've got a burr on this side I can feel that you can't feel it

so I've polished this out just a little bit

because this face is already polished anyway so now I don't have the burr here

but the buries on that edge so I've got to just wipe this and the burr will be

removed when I burnish the edge so go to that now and you'll see how this

works this goes in the vise I'm going to put

it this way it's not always easy to

burnish this you either wet this on with spit from your tongue or you wipe it on

your oil here and then you press this onto the plate on that same bevel the 45

degrees so you're following the same angle and you keep buffing this edge out

the polished edge this is actually refining that edge even more than your

1200 grit will because it's consolidating itself in into itself and

then I start to lower my hand this way so I'm gonna start I'm at 45 I'm going

to lower lower lower with each stroke so here and now I'm starting to turn the

edge and I can actually see that edge turning so now I've got a burr on here

so we load this into here this is how I set my scrapers drop this in to here you

hear it click down on there squeeze this back plate and then cinch these little

nailed nuts up while you have it squeezed like this you can tighten it if

you want to usually it's not necessarily it's not necessary to go beyond finger

tight and I just push this on the surface here and it's just kissing the

surface so now I tighten this wingnut right against the back

plate and just a little extra let's see how we did let's see if we can get some

shavings now I'm shaving here this is Mesquite which is just about twice as

hard as oak not quite twice as hard as oak let's see what we get

so we are getting shaving a little bit extra on here and this is glass smooth

now this is absolutely glass smooth and that's how I would recommend that you

sharpen your number 80 scraper it'll stay with you forever now the smell of

Mesquite is wonderful

Teeny Weeny Challenge #5 How Small Can I bake Miniature donuts? - Duration: 4:49.

Welcome to How To Cook That, I'm Ann Reardon and this is teeny weeny baking

challenge number five and you asked me to see if I could make miniature donuts

so let's give this a go. To make donuts we need flour ... just tip that into the

bowl ... everything's a little bit more fiddly when it's tiny. Some instant dried

yeast and of course some sugar so that the yeast can work. Then we need to take

the butter and melt that in the microwave. You don't want it hot, you

just want it melted so about ten seconds should do it for this small amount. Add

that in with the dry ingredients and then pour in the milk. If you know how to

make pottery or porcelain let me know in the comments if you can make fine

miniatures ... most of the miniatures I find a really chunky and clunky so I'd love

to talk to you if you actually make your own. Add a couple of drops of vanilla and

two eggs and then you want to mix that all together until you get a dough like

consistency. Clean up your workspace, put everything away and then put some extra

flour on the bench and tip out the dough. Now we need to knead that to develop the

gluten in the dough. Gluten is just the protein in wheat and when you need it

and develop it it makes the dough really stretchy. So see here it just breaks when

I pull on it so we need to knead it some more until it becomes stretchy like this.

That looks good so now you want to put that dough back in the bowl and cover it

with some plastic wrap. Plastic wrap can be fiddly and hard enough to handle it

normal of times but in miniature size it's proving a little difficult ... got it :)

Okay once you've covered that you cover it so that the dough doesn't dry out and

you just want to leave it to rise. Once it's doubled in volume you can remove

the plastic. I'm having trouble with this today and

then just knock it down ... normally you'd punch it with your fists but my fist is

not going to fit into that tiny bowl. Take it out of the bowl and then put it

on the counter and roll it using a rolling pin. Whenever you guys give me a

new teeny-weeny challenge to do there's always some piece of kitchen equipment

that I don't have in mini, so I need to make it before I can start baking. This

time I needed a strainer for when I get the donuts out of the hot oil and I also

didn't have a donut cutter. Donut cutters have an inner circle and an outer circle

so that when you cut with them you end up with that perfect donut shape. I have

a big one of these but I had to make a mini one. Just pull the centre out and

you can re-roll the centres or you can use them to make donut holes if you want

to fry them up like that. Then you want to leave your donuts to rise again. Look

at that one that's risen a bit too much I think. Light your stovetop and put your

pan of oil on top to heat up. Once it is hot, add your donut into the hot oil and

let it bubble and fry until it browns. Look at that ... perfect 💕 Keep frying all of

them until they're all cooked and then turn off your cooktop you don't want to leave

hot oil getting hotter and hotter or it will ignite ... if you watch my normal donut

video you can see that happening in real life 🔥 Once they're cooked it's time to

glaze them and I'll link you to my donut glaze recipes in the

description below. The donut ingredient quantities are there too so that you can

make donuts in real size or mini size depending what you want to do. My

favorite glaze is the chocolate one YUM! Look at that so shiny but my kids like

the pink marshmallow glaze it actually has marshmallows in the glaze recipe so

it tastes really good and then of course you might like some sprinkles just on

top of that. And for those of you with more

traditional tastes let's dip some of them in cinnamon sugar. Teeny-weeny

Snapchat and Instagram are competing against each other. They have equal features.

Snapchat are trying to release new devices, which is not the case with Instagram. It is expected that the second generation of spectacles to be released soon.

FCC cleared that the model 2 of spectacles will have WiFi AC and Bluetooth.

It is expected that the new spectacles will have more connectivity options.

But it won't have a second camera or GPS, which are expected to be included in the third generation of spectacles in 2019.

Mark Zuckerberg made a good performance during the hearing.

Facebook stocks are a bit expensive after the hearing.

Imagine one of the juries asks you what is the hotel you are staying at, tell the people about it!

Zuckerberg refused to answer the question.

The juror asked him another question about the people he messaged last week.

In which he replied that he wouldn't give them this information.

The juror then told Mark that the whole hearing is about privacy and what Facebook is doing with it.

Zuckerberg also hinted that there will be a paid version of Facebook. He said that Facebook is free, but there might be a paid version of it.

A lot of famous people around the world are deleting their Facebook accounts.

Steve Wozniak, Apple's cofounder, deleted his Facebook account.

Elon Musk before him. There are lots of people deleting their accounts.

Why? Because the platform is not safe and it doesn't have privacy.

The third thing, Facebook's and co market value has been reducing.

WhatsApp and Instagram have been affected as well. The loss is nearly USD80 billion.

Lot's of people lost their money.

From Facebook to Whatsapp, there is a great danger in WhatsApp app due to messages that can hack your account.

You would simply receive a message from a US or a foreign number. The contect of the message looks like a message from Whatsapp.

The message tells you about an activation code with a link to visit.

You personally didn't ask for an activation code, so lots of people visited the link included.

If you visit the link, your WhatsApp account will be hacked.

How to avoid this? Simply by having two-step verification feature.

If you enable it, you will receive an sms with a code to enable it.

If you want to enable it, go to WhatsApp settings and enable it there.

If it is not enabled and you visit that link, your account will be hacked, and the hacker would enable two step verification, and in that case, it would be hard to get it back.

You should pay attention. Everyone watching us should enable this feature on WhatsApp.

Huawei made a big conference in KSA that is directed to their partners and companies that sell their products.

I visited the conference and asked Huawei representative two questions.

The first question was about the Saudi market and if they are going to open an official store here or not.

His answer was:

This is true. I think that we can officially confirm that we will open our flagship shop in KSA.

I also asked him something that happened in the last conference in Paris that P20 and P20 Pro were announced. I asked him why did they announce a Mate device in a P conference!

SFCSP is Saudi Federation for Cyber Security and Programming. They have lots of activities and competitions.

One of the competitions were Kayzen. A group of people competed against each other in hacking and security.

Let's go back to phone and ZTE in particular. ZTE said they don't want only one notch, they decided to have one at the top and one at the bottom.

A great and different step.

Why would I only lose one portion of the device? Let's lose two portions.

We can't judge it until we use it.

There are also clear glass corners on the phone.

ZTE said they decided to do this after they developed a new way to have two notches on the phone.

This was not possible in the past due to screen's cable and how it is impossible to widen the screen without it. ZTE figured a way to do it.

A group of scientists could lengthen some muscles to be used in robots. These muscles are made of Plastic and other materials.

When these muscles are electrocuted, it wil shrink and stretch.

It will look like as if it is a muscle.

They have a little more than 200 Mega Watt which is enough to have a sustainable energy in the Apple Park. They get this energy from solar panels that are on the roof of the whole Park

This energy can run the whole Apple Park. The building is 100% green now.

A week ago, Google also announced that their building is now 100% working on renewable energy.

Green energy is the sustainable energy from solar panels.

The difference between Google and Apple is that Google's energy comes from Windmills, where they use these windmills to generate electricity to run their building.

Apple and Google are 100% working on sustainable energy. Apple has lots of projects around the world with green energy. They always try to use sustainable energy.

By the way, if you notice Apple's product boxes, there is a print on it that shows that they have recyclable materials

And that it could reach to 100% sometimes.

Apple and Google are sustainable now.

Reds legend Kenny Dalglish makes HUGE Liverpool ' Mohamed Salah admission ● News Now transfer ● #LFC - Duration: 2:12.

Mohamed Salah's remarkable season would have surprised Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

That's the view of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish, who has seen Salah bag 39 goals

for the Reds in all competitions.

It's the Egyptian's first season at Anfield having moved to Merseyside from Roma last

summer.

And he has excelled, leading the Premier League's golden boot race with 29 goals while also

helping Liverpool to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

And Dalglish, who played for and managed Liverpool, believes Salah's achievements will have

even surprised the man who signed him.

"He has been fantastic," Dalglish told LFC TV.

"He must have outlived his own expectations I would have thought, and certainly you would

have thought Jürgen could not have anticipated 39 goals so far.

"He's still really humble and despite the fact he's scored that many goals, he's

still going out and trying to do his bit – and he does his bit on the other side of it when

he doesn't have the ball.

It's fantastic.

"It's been a brilliant bit of business and it's great to see him saying how happy

he is to be here."

Dalglish won three European Cups in his playing days at Anfield while leading Liverpool to

three league titles as manager.

Salah won't be lifting the Premier League this season with the title all but won by

Manchester City.

However the 25-year-old still has a chance of winning the Champions League.

Salah scored in each leg as Liverpool knocked out Manchester City in the quarter-finals.

The Reds will find out their semi-finals opponents today.
