All right, we are gonna make some half sour pickles in the refrigerator and this summer
I am really concentrating on refrigerator pickles because we're not having a garden this year and honestly, it's super hot
My house is really hot. It's miserably hot, and I don't feel like canning this year
So I'm taking a break and I'm gonna do things nice and easy and I'm gonna be making the refrigerator pickles
In another video we made this big batch pickling spice. This is a traditional pickling spice
I'll leave a link in an I card on the screen and also down below in the information box where you can go watch that
video and get a link to my website where you can find the recipe but
one of the inspirations for these pickles is we went to the local Piggly Wiggly and
They had local Kirby cucumbers and you know what?
I am so happy to support the local farmers and these cucumbers were
Beautiful and delicious and they're just the perfect size
So what I did was I cut some up in Spears I cut some up in thick slices
I got a couple of quart jars washed and
In another video I mentioned I sterilize them in the microwave and this is not a traditional way to sterilize your jars
So if you're gonna do traditional canning methods, this is not a traditional canning recipe
You cannot water about this recipe
You will need to seek out a safety tested water bath pickle recipe on your own
This is a refrigerator pickle recipe and the two do not mix
So when I sterilize my jars for this process isis wash them it's hot soapy water
Rinse them put them on a plate in the microwave
two minutes on high they get really hot and
That's good enough for me
Because we're not worrying about putting these in water baths to put it pull a seal and put these on the shelf
We're gonna keep these in the fridge and we're gonna eat them fairly quickly
But these will keep for at least six months in your fridge if you don't eat them that quick
I mean, we love pickles and we eat them pretty quick here. So in any case
we're gonna fill up these two jars one with Spears and one with
Slices we're gonna use some of our big batch pickling spice
I have right here three cups of white vinegar and three cups of
Filtered water. I have a half a cup of granulated sugar and a quarter of a cup of kosher salt
These pickles are not sweet. The sugar is part of the brine and pickling process so they aren't sweet
But they're very delicious. My dad loves these pickles, and he looks forward to them every year
First we need to make our brine. So we're gonna put our water and our vinegar in a saucepan
Along with our sugar and our salts we're gonna bring this to a boil and
Wait for everything to dissolve and then while that's happening we'll go ahead and we'll stuff our jars
We're gonna prepare to stuff our jars, but before we start I want to get our big batch
Pickling spice and I'm gonna put two tablespoons in each jar
Make sure you mix this up really well because you want a little bit of everything in here
Beautiful now I'm just gonna stuff these and I'm gonna lay the
Spears in the best I can I'm gonna kind of alternate them just so they fit better
And because we're not heating these up there may be a little bit of float
But you want to make sure you pack these in the best you can
so that there isn't an opportunity for these to float and you don't want it packed so tight that
The pickling spice doesn't have the opportunity to distribute
And then you want to make sure that you wash your hands before you start this process
Because whatever is on your hands is gonna end up in the jar
And even though that we're not canning these you still want to be sanitary about it. And then what we can do is
we can grab a knife so that we can we can fill up the space here in the top and there won't be an
opportunity for a wasted space so
You can just put some chunks in here
Nobody is gonna care. They all are gonna taste the same and if you guys if you like salad chunks
You should cut your pickles up the way you like them best if you like them sliced in Spears
you can also do these with whole cucumbers and you just want to make sure that you have a big enough jar because
You babee fit for cucumbers in a quart jar like that and then I'm gonna go in with my slices
I may use another jar one of the jars that I used for the water or the vinegar
I may use one of those depending on what I have left here. Okay, do you see that?
Get rid of it. It's a little soft spot that revealed itself. There's another one
You also want to make sure that you check your cucumbers really well
As you are preparing them
Even though we're not canning them and I'm going to say that a lot here even though we're not canning these
You still want to make sure that your vegetables are nice and fresh and sometimes you're gonna get a soft spot
You can pretty well cut those out. It's not a problem
Prepping another jar here, and these were also sterilized before I started. So no worries there
I wash everything
before I start and now I'm just gonna cut the rest of these up like I'm gonna cut them in half and just kind of
Fill up the jar in little chunks and give your jar a shake every now and then just to help it
Settle and I think I'm gonna get all in these in this jar and that will be awesome. Now, we're just gonna wait for our
brine to come to a boil and
We'll be back and we'll top these off with our brine and get them ready to go in the fridge
alright, our brine mixture came to a boil and
Now we're just gonna top off our jars making sure that to the best of our ability
These are filled and all of the cucumber's are covered. I always try and make a little more brine then
I think I'm gonna need and it looks like
This time I made the perfect amount for three jars and you can leave about of a quarter of an inch of headspace
We're not gonna worry too much about that
since we are just doing a
refrigerator pickle right
So now what you want to do is get you a paper towel, and I'm just gonna go ahead and wipe these rims
Making sure that there's no like seeds or spices or anything else
Up in here and I have clean lids ready to go
And some rings
But you see why this is floating
But no worries
This is gonna settle but you definitely want to get in here and give everything a shake because you want all of that pickling spice
to distribute in there
sometimes when you do this beers, you have to kind of turn it upside down and wiggle it because
everything needs to
Move around those Spears are not gonna float as always my experience that the slices like to float
You want to put these on your kitchen counter until they come to room temperature and I would say after dinner
I'll be able to do that. It's late afternoon now and
After dinner, I'll just go ahead and put them in the outside fridge
You want to you don't want to eat these until they're ready after three days
you want to give these a shake every day just to distribute everything and make sure everything is moving along in there and
After three days, you can enjoy them. It's better to wait about a week. But after three days, they're gonna be delicious
These are gonna be crisp and they're gonna be tart and they're gonna taste like a really good deli pickle
So those are half sours
and the reason we call those half sours is because they're not fully pickled with 100% vinegar and
You know some recipes actually do use a hundred percent vinegar, but this is a really quick way to have a really great pickle
Available for your family to enjoy all summer long or even beyond that really
and she is up your garden produce absolutely or to use up the garden produce that your neighbors so graciously shares with you or
To use up the produce that you you you purchased to support your local farmers at the farm stand or whatever it is
You know what? We live in a place where the bounty is so great
It doesn't really matter if you grew it yourself because you knew where it came from. So that's the best part to me

Clove oil for tooth pain
Clove oil is rich in eugenol, an agent natural antibacterial that is great for
relieve toothaches.
Mix 3 drops of clove oil with a quarter of teaspoon of olive oil.
Then apply the mixture to the affected area with a cotton ball.
You can not forget to dilute the oil, because it can burn your mouth.
Lettuce for sleep problems
In the stem of the lettuce there is a substance called lectin, and is a great natural sedative.
When consumed frequently, it provides a soothing and calming sensation and helps
people with insomnia.
To benefit from its properties, boil a tablespoon of chopped lettuce leaves
in a cup of water and leave in infusion for 10 minutes.
Strain the liquid and drink 3 times a day, all the days.
Ginger due to nausea
Ginger is very effective in reducing nausea, and some studies have already proven this.
Works especially well during pregnancy or after surgery.
The best way to benefit is through of ginger tea.
Put one gram of ginger in a glass of water and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

러시아 국영방송 RT는 27일(한국시간) "모리뉴 감독이 러시아 월드컵 조별리그 A조와 B조의 1, 2위의 국가를 정확하게 맞췄다"라고 전했다.
러시아 월드컵 기간에 RT의 해설위원으로 활동하는 모리뉴 감독은 개막에 앞서 A~H조까지 8개 조의 1, 2위 순위를 예상하는 이벤트를 펼쳤다.
모리뉴 감독은 A조 1위 팀을 우루과이, 2위 팀을 러시아로 골랐고, B조 1위를 스페인, 2위 팀을 포르투갈로 점쳤다.
더불어 C조 1위를 프랑스로 내다봤다.경기 결과 모리뉴 감독의 예상대로 정확히 들어맞았다.
A조에서 우루과이와 러시아는 2차전까지 나란히 2승으로 치열한 순위 싸움을 펼쳤고, 3차전에서 우루과이가 러시아를 3-0으로 물리치고 A조 1위를 확정했다.
B조에서도 스페인과 포르투갈이 2차전까지 1승 1무로 균형을 이룬 가운데 최종전에서 스페인과 포르투갈이 나란히 비겨 스페인이 1위, 포르투갈이 2위로 16강 티켓을 차지했다.
모리뉴 감독은 이어 C조 1위팀으로 프랑스를 찍었고, 이 역시 적중했다.

It's becoming apparent that the last round of group-stage matches is indisputably the best phase of the World Cup
Look no further than the chaos in Group B just two days prior for the sheer drama that playing a pair of decisive games simultaneously can have on both matches
There was nothing to suggest from the outset that Group F would explode into such dramatic promises of possibility the way it did, with Mexico seemingly in control of its own destiny and Sweden arguably an outsider's chance of progression
Germany should have advanced on its own steam, despite being out of sorts, against a Korean side relying on a healthy Mexican win and a shock victory over Germany
Just look at the way the group was set up heading in to the final day.There was no way Mexico could botch this
And despite being generally awful in Russia, defending champion Germany was still a favourite to progress
Instead, footballing lunacy and pandemonium took over.Sweden, which just about squeaked through qualifying to reach the World Cup, proceeded to blow Mexico away, dismantling a team that had impressed every man and his dog in beating the Germans and Koreans so comprehensively
By going 1-0 up, Mexico was still home and hosed, ahead of Sweden on goal difference
2-0 up, however, and the tables had been turned.But 3-0 up, and suddenly it was pure nightmare fuel for Mexico, which out of nowhere had a negative goal difference, was hanging on to second place, and at risk of elimination if Germany could beat Korea as expected
To put this into context, it's pretty much unthinkable that a team that wins its opening two matches at a World Cup could then suddenly be eliminated after three games
But that's the stark reality that faced El Tri and its legions of fans clad in green, frantically checking their phones in the stand for updates from Germany's match in Kazan
Germany was struggling again to break down a team sitting deep.But anyone who knows their World Cup history knows that Germany, inevitably, finds a way

Germany squeezed one last token, powderpuff attack to close out the match, prompting one more spectacular save from Cho between the sticks
The result was in the bag.Mexico, looking down and out after an out-of-sorts showing against Sweden, was safe — just — and Germany was going home
Back in Ekaterinburg, the news hadn't quite been relayed to Mexico's players, who still looked distraught as Sweden's players roared themselves hoarse in celebration of their progression
But soon enough, there was sweet, sweet relief to El Tri ears as news filtered through of Korea's win — some five minutes after full time in Mexico's match — confirming a round-of-16 clash with Group E's top team
Spare a thought for South Korea, too.After two match days, it needed to stun Germany (which it did), and hope for a more conventional Mexican win over Sweden
Sweden instead produced something of a shock itself, progressing at South Korea's expense
But that didn't stop Korean fans and players celebrating emphatically at the final whistle, having secured a monumental result against the German giant

In my earlier videos -- Part 1 and Part 2 -- I covered the first 10 Puzzle Pieces.
Out of them it became clear that the diet recommended by the medical world was actually
unhealthy;
Type 2 Diabetes guidelines were not reliable and I needed to aim lower than the doc suggested;
the key to reducing blood sugar and managing Diabetes and losing weight was to focus on
eliminating insulin resitance;
and that for people with insulin resistance -- which is all Type 2 Diabetics -- frequent
eating actually contributed to insulin resistance because it flooded our systems with insulin
24/7.
Now we hit the 2 Pieces that changed everything.
Pieces of the Puzzle - Piece #11: Whoa!
Someone is deliberately causing Diabetes reversals and they can prove it!
OK, this one was huge.
For 50 years the medical profession had said, Type 2 Diabetes cannot be cured, cannot be
reversed, it's chronic and progressive,
all you can do is slow it's progress down and manage the blood sugar levels to keep
them out of the danger zone.
But even if you do that, the condition will get worse over time and if you don't need
meds yet ... you will.
Then in 2011 and 2012 a UK Professor called Roy Taylor pulled together a group of Type
2 Diabetics and put them through an 8-week program that genuinely reversed their Diabetes.
Wow.
That changed everything.
Well, almost everything.
I was really excited because he had proven the principle.
It COULD be reversed.
But the small print made it unrealistic for me.
First, he only invited people who were newly diagnosed -- and later he ran other studies
and concluded that his specific program worked best with people who had not been diabetic
for many years.
That was no good for me.
Even though I had only been diagnosed for a few years I knew that my unusual low-glycemic
diet had fooled the numbers; and I knew that I'd had severe insulin resistance for 30+
years AND it had gotten worse every year for 30 years.
I'd been classed as morbidly obese for 30 years.
Then, a show-stopper for me.
His program put these people on a very aggressive calorie reduced diet.
He called it "vigorous," I call it awful.
600 calories a day liquid diet for 8 weeks, 200 calories of vegetables, and in fact these
days he puts you on it for 12 weeks, not 8.
It was no surprise to learn that one of his filters to get onto his study group was to
make sure the folk in his study were mentally prepared and mentally strong.
Again, that was no good for me.
Every calorie controlled diet I'd tried for 30 years had failed because I was cold miserable
and hungry all the time and all the weight flooded back afterwards.
So why would I believe an even more aggressive calorie restricted diet would be any different?
And in fact it seems that time has proved my concern right.
His people did have a tendency to gain the weight they lost and the Diabetes did return
if they did.
So in the latest incarnation of his program that I've seen he has added several weeks
after the diet ends to help transition people back to real food in smaller quantities;
and he now adds an 18-month period of monitoring and diet and exercise intervention as necessary
to try to keep people from regaining the lost weight.
So: the great news was that I now KNEW it was possible to reverse Diabetes.
But I had to find a way to do it that did NOT demand starvation-level diets and did
not set me up for failure and did not set me up to regain all the weight;
and it had to work with someone who'd been morbidly obese and had demonstrated insulin
resistance for more than 30 years.
Pieces of the Puzzle - Part 12: The focus shifts to being 100% aimed at reducing body
fat -- weight loss is just one of many side effects!
Along with the awareness that Type 2 Diabetes COULD be reversed, this next Piece of the
Puzzle was the turning point for me.
Professor Taylor said the key to his method was to lose weight because some of the fat
that was lost would be from the liver; and it was his claim that fatty livers were at
the heart of insulin resistance.
At that point something in my brain went "ka-ching."
It opened my eyes to the awareness that the real key wasn't to lose weight.
It was to lose fat.
Sure, if you lost fat you'd also lose weight.
But maybe there were fat-loss strategies that put all the focus on this one specific outcome
-- fat loss, without being distracted by weight loss?
I mean, how did you go about losing fat specifically?
So THAT now became the focal point of my search.
And that led me to the 3 Game-Changers!
And it also immediately posed a problem.
Because fat loss IS a problem for someone with insulin resistance.
What I learned was that when a healthy body doesn't have enough glucose in the system
to provide fuel for the body, it is able to burn fat for fuel.
It's like switching a car from one fuel source to another.
In fact, our bodies were designed specifically to do this.
Having fat reserves was a brilliant solution to the reality that there would be times that
we might go for hours, even days, without being able to find food.
Basically, nature -- or God if you prefer to think that way -- built us an alternative
fuel source for when the hunting and foraging weren't going well.
So, there was the simple key to fat loss; burn fat as fuel instead of burning glucose!
But there's a huge problem with that simple solution if you are insulin resistant.
Because insulin does a few things very well.
One of them is, it helps store some of the food you eat as fat.
Another is, when insulin is present in your system it stops you burning your fat.
If you think about it, it makes sense.
As long as you have insulin in your system, in a healthy body that means you have some
glucose in your system and therefore there is no need to burn fat.
Your glucose fuel-tank is full.
But when you are insulin resistant and when your system is swimming in insulin 24/7, that
insulin blocks you from burning fat.
Basically, insulin makes you fat and keeps you fat.
So I had to find something that would lower the insulin in my system.
I needed to drain my system of insulin and then do everything I could to keep the insulin
released by my pancreas as little as possible -- and have it in my system for as short a
time as possible.
That led me to research anything and everything I could about burning fat and the role of
insulin.
And that led me to 3 Game Changers.
First Game Changer, the awareness I mentioned earlier: that our bodies were actually designed
to be able to switch fuel tanks from glucose to fat and back again.
What was interesting was that as a 62 year old (at that time) I'd probably NEVER activated
my reserve fuel tank.
Like most people in the Western world, I'd always been able to eat when I was hungry.
I could put glucose in my system any time I wanted.
Fat burning was never needed.
So my body might not be very good at it to begin with!
But it WAS something built-in to us.
Second Game Changer: I looked for any group of people who knew anything about burning
fat.
And I found one.
Body builders!
Body builders are very interesting because they are NOT interested in losing weight.
But they ARE fanatics about losing FAT because fat hides the definition of their muscles.
To look ripped they have to build the muscle but that's not enough -- they have to burn-off
their fat.
When I dug deeper into the body-building world, I discovered something that body-builders
were doing to burn fat every day.
Every day!
And to my relief, what they were doing to burn fat naturally proved to be a VERY safe
technique, and did not involve any supplements or meds.
This strategy they adopted turned my world upside down.
It was the key to draining the insulin from my system and keeping it drained.
It was the key to rebuilding my sensitivity to insulin -- or, chipping away at my insulin
resistance, if you want to think of it from that angle -- that's the other side of the
same coin.
And this thing they were doing came with a whole host of other health benefits.
Later, I was to reap the rewards of every one of those.
Low cholesterol.
Low blood pressure.
Greatly reduced inflammation in joints and tendons.
Reduced odds of developing Alzheimer's.
And more.
And the 3rd Game Changer: while initially I didn't really change the components of my
diet much, I discovered a diet I'd never even heard of before -- today it's growing in popularity,
and no I don't mean Paleo -- that meant I didn't create sugar spikes and didn't create
insulin spikes.
It complemented the 2nd Game Changing tactic beautifully.
Eventually I shifted towards it.
But initially that would have been too hard for me.
And I was into "easy," not "hard," especially at the beginning of my journey.
So now, I had something that drained my insulin.
And I had something that kept it low.
I had to put one more element into place: how to make a start on this strategy in such
a way that I was never hungry.
Because being hungry was always my deal-breaker.
Well, it turned out that these Game Changers could be achieved without being hungry.
I didn't have to take that on faith;
There was a way to get started that made it very easy to do.
I could slowly dip my toe into the program, it didn't need any leap of faith, I didn't
have to take a plunge into the deep end.
I could take a step back if I needed to and it was OK.
So: It was game on!
I developed my plan -- it was actually very simple.
Then I followed the plan and the results were ... Type 2 Diabetes eliminated, 120 lbs dropped,
blood pressure 100 over 70.
I'm an ordinary guy but I recorded extraordinary results.
I asked my family doctor, in your 35 years of practice how many other people have you
known achieve what I just did?
His answer: none.
And he's a really good doctor, incidentally.
He has earned the trust of my family untold times over 3 decades.
So there you have it: what I did was unconventional, it had to deal with a 62 year old guy who'd
been morbidly obese at 300 lbs and more for 30 years.
And I achieved what almost no-one else has.
