I Got Grey Ombre Box Braids For The First Time | Hair Me Out | Refinery29 - Duration: 6:28.My name is Patia, and welcome to Hair Me Out.
When I was younger, I always wanted to blend in, but now, I love to stand out.
Switching up my hair is one way to achieve that.
I can't wait to get gray, ombre Casamance braids for the very first time.
Hi, my name is Anta.
Hi, my name is Fatoumata.
Welcome to Khamit Kinks.
So, Patia how long have you been natural?
Um, I think like, five years or so.
Oh, wow, so how do you usually wear your hair?
Uhhh...
In like, a bun.
Casamance braid is, first of all, the name comes from Senegal.
It's a city in Senegal.
They're easy to do, easy to wear, maintenance-free.
Once we're finished, you'll be able to style it.
It won't hurt.
We care about your hairline.
We make sure that it's not going to be tight.
You don't have to take Tylenol when you go home.
It's very flexible.
The reason I stopped getting my hair braided in high school was because like, it hurt.
I'd be in pain for three days.
It just wasn't worth it.
I'm a little scared, not gonna lie.
So, from the first one...
So, how do you feel?
Oh, it's good, yeah.
So, Patia who was the first person to do you hair?
My mom, she used to do it.
She used to like, wash it in the sink and then she would braid it in like, five or six
braids with barrettes.
But my grandma also did my hair a lot.
She would do it with like, all these fun styles.
And she'd put like, ribbons intertwined in the braids.
And she liked doing hair, so...
When did you guys start learning how to braid and how did you learn how to do hair?
My mom has four girls.
She didn't know how to do hair.
She used to send us to aunts and friends to get our hair done.
You have to wash their dishes...
You have to clean their house before your get your hair done.
So, I said, "I'm tired of that.
I'm going to learn how to do my sisters' hair and stay home."
While growing up, I was doing my siblings' hair, my mom, my aunt...
When I came here in 2003, I was like, "Ah, should I do hair?"
So 15 years now, I'm still doing it, I love doing it.
So my mom I guess got fed up one day and decided to take me to her hairstylist, Miss Melba.
Miss Melba would wash and like, hot iron – hot comb my hair.
Sometimes on special occasions she would do like, the Shirley Temple curls.
But my mom wouldn't let me perm my hair, so this was like, our compromise.
At 16 I like, begged my mother for a perm against her better judgement and my foolishness...
Um, and she let me get one.
When I first-first went natural, I did braids, or I did, uh, twists for I think, like, maybe
eight months to a year.
And then I got a big chop, and I was like, shocked.
I was like, "Oh, I like my face!"
I went natural like, right before the big boom.
Like, I wasn't like, an early-early natural person, but not everybody...
Everybody wasn't natural yet.
My friends were like, "Well, you're gonna have to do your hair," and like, "Everybody's
gonna see your face," and like, crazy things!
And then also just...
I didn't know how to care for natural hair.
I was on YouTube like it was like, my second job.
What is your favorite thing about doing hair?
My favorite part is when a customer comes...
Their hair is already damaged.
Their edges are all gone...
So, they come to us for help.
And then, if they keep coming for one year, a year-and-a-half, they're going to see their
hair start changing.
Their hair grows.
Most of them, they've never seen their natural hair, and once they see it,
they're shocked and surprised.
Seeing them be happy, being respectful, and loving themselves when it comes to their hair.
All of my clients that come in here know that Fatoumata loves to do cornrows.
When I do it, I feel so inspired.
And from the beginning to the end, I see the client's face looking really happy.
It makes me feel so good.
Like changing people's lives.
I love having natural hair.
My hair is big, and I think, especially for other women that are trying to grow their hair,
like, length is a big deal...
So, I think that it being big and kind of long, people will come up to me
and ask me about it.
I don't know, it just, it takes up space... which I like.
It makes me stand out.
Every time somebody compliments me, or every time I have a style that I like, I'm like,
"Oh, this is me!"
like, and it makes me feel really good about who I am plus or minus gray ombre braids.
Now, we're dipping the ends in hot water to make them softer, more bouncy.
This will seal the ends from getting frizzy or unraveling.
It'll surprise you...
I love it!
Oh my gosh.
I look like I should be in a band.
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
It was a pleasure!
I love the way my gray ombre braids turned out.
My hair used to be one of my biggest insecurities, but now, it makes me feel great.
I love myself just the way I am with my big, complicated, and beautiful hair.

How to balance wood element energies naturally | 5 Elements healing Meditation | Samaya Yoga (FAST) - Duration: 12:43.Welcome All, I am Jyoti Khatri, Health & Holistic Wellness Expert.
This is the first video of five element healing meditation series, which can be used for self-development
and balancing all the energies within you, invoking the self healing ability of this
human body.
The basis of this is my TCM, yoga and reiki practices along with Taoism.
In this video you will be learning how to draw wood element symbol and will be sharing
2 powerful mediation technique, which will help you to experience the wood energies within
you and heal the imbalances of wood at all levels of body, mind and spirit.
Try both approaches and find out for yourself which variation feels more comfortable for
you.
You will discover the connections between the wood elements and the anatomical organs,
with the emotions and mental/spiritual states.
I got so many request about making video related to anger, reducing the anxiety, laziness, eye problems, and list goes on. What i
see common in all of those request is that imbalances of wood energies in them.
So, it is important for everyone to really know how these elements affect at all levels
of the body-mind-spirit, they are energy fields that resonate throughout our being and exhibit
their characteristics in different ways.
Ultimately, everything in the universe is Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal or Water.
These forces interact with each other and manifest or condense in different aspects
of our body-mind-spirit.
Which makes us all with unique temperament yet we all are made up of same 5 element.
It is important for you to watch the whole video so that you will get clear understanding of
wood element, as it will help in your meditation practice where you will clear and balances
the wood energizes within you.
So, before moving to meditation technique.
Lets understand the wood energies first.
Each 'element' represents a range of related functions and qualities.
For example, Wood represents active functions that are in a growing phase.
So if we translate this principles into the seasons of the year, then Wood represents
the growth of spring season.
The emotion of Wood is anger and aggression, together with the associated feelings of irritability,
hatred, fury and rage, resentment and frustration.
Anger and aggression are a sign of an obstacle in our path, preventing us from growing, and
we become frustrated if we cannot find the space for expression.
Anger and aggression are seen as positive emotions that allow us to overcome impediments
to our growth, but irritability, hatred, rage and fury are seen as signs of a Wood imbalance,
and are not healthy emotions.
Rage, for example, can be seen as anger that has lost its purpose and gone out of control.
We speak of 'blind rage'.
A person might be continually angry with themselves or on edge with others, irritable and always
wanting to pick a fight with someone.
They might feel 'stuck', paralysed because they are unable to escape their fury.
Annoyance and irritability can also be seen as energies that have yet to be focused.
If a person keeps their rage inside, one can appear cold and polite on surface level; but
underneath there may be a feeling of great frustration or inner conflict, and if the
rage ever broke free there might be dangerous consequences.
Such suppressed aggression also goes hand in hand with suppressed and inhibited sexuality,
so healthy sexual behaviour is seen as related to healthy aggressive behaviour.
Emotional imbalances in Wood can be expressed in different ways.
For example, chronic irritability and unreasonable temper tantrums can be indicative of an excess
of chi or energy in the Gall Bladder.
This can cause headaches in the crown and at the temples, and if this state of rage
continues not to be expressed or cleared out then high blood pressure or Gallstones might
result.
A person may exhibit suppressed rage: sarcasm, cynicism, bitterness and a general inability
to become angry.
This can be associated with apathy, sluggishness, resignation and depression, which in themselves
are what we might see in a person who has given up making plans and manifesting goals.
Such an outlook may have arisen because a person has been confronted continually with
obstacles to their self-realisation.
Continued failure can lead people to give up, perhaps leading to alcoholism or drug
addiction, which are in themselves injurious to the Liver.
If over the years a person cannot express and clear their hatred and rage, and turn
these emotions into a positive striving towards goals, then the aggression can turn itself
against the person's own body, leading to gout, arthritis, rheumatism, and other autoimmune
or auto-aggressive disorders.
Interestingly, these diseases are more often found in women, and in patriarchal cultures
women have less opportunity than men to express themselves, especially when it comes to carrying
through with an idea or venting their anger.
The healthy situation is where anger and aggression can be expressed and then will turn naturally
into joy and love, the emotions associated with Fire, the element which follows Wood
in the endless cycle of the elements.
Wood brings forth the desire for movement and growth.
Its nature is expansion, growing in all directions.
It brings forth the creative processes of planning and decision-making.
It gives us the desire to undertake a new project, to set sail for new horizons and
new discoveries.
Wood is represented by the Liver which is yin organ and the Gall Bladder which is yang
organ.
The Liver represents the ability to make plans and to see life on a material level; it embodies
the power of imagination and creative energy that results in growth.
It is the inventor, the discoverer.
It sees the meaning of life.
It develops the vision, the plan.
Every new idea that we take hold of, every new concept, broadens our horizons.
We take risks and go into the unknown.
We grow, and growth or expansion is the essence of Wood.
You might imagine that when this ability falters then some symptom would arise.
For example, a migraine may appear when Liver energy is out of balance, and you could see
this as frustration with the system because plans were not made or followed.
So a person with a Wood imbalance might say that they felt 'jammed up in the head so that
I can't think, or plan, or do anything'.
Related to the Liver's planning is the Gall Bladder's function in decision making: the
ability to assert our needs in the outer world.
If you see the Liver as an architect, then the Gall Bladder is the builder who makes
the decisions and arrangements necessary for the blueprints to become a reality.
Imagine a person who has difficulty in making decisions, even very little simple ones, and
you are thinking of someone with a Gall Bladder imbalance.
The two functions of Liver and Gall Bladder are very closely connected.
Without an all encompassing concept, the decisions in day-to-day life are incoherent, and similarly
the best plans and projects are worthless if they cannot be carried out.
Depression and resignation may have their roots in a Wood disorder: the vision is missing,
the plan is lacking, or a person may have many plans and ideas but cannot make them
into reality.
Each Element has associated with a sense organ, a body part, an orifice, a physical manifestation,
and a variety of other aspects, for example a colour, a taste, and a time of day.
An imbalance in an element can show itself as a characteristic symptom in one of these
areas.
In this video iam just going to touch on a few of these.
The Eyes are represented by Wood element.
So an eye problem like blindness, short- or long-sightedness, or any sort of distorted
vision, could be associated with an imbalance in the Liver and Gall Bladder.
As, these organs are associated with planning, judgement and decision-making, and you could
say that it takes vision and sight to be able to make proper decisions.
Headaches at the crown, temples or behind the eyes are characteristic of Wood imbalance.
Since Wood governs cycles of growth, Wood imbalances can cause irregular or painful
menstruation or premature birth, growth disorders in childhood or adolescence , and in cancer.
A healthy Wood element grows out in all directions, so imbalance may show itself in symptoms that
only occur in one side of the body or in diseases where there is lack of co-ordination in the
muscles, or glands or organs.
Wood has an important role in coordinating the right and left hemispheres of the brain,
and an imbalance can be expressed in psychiatric and neurological disorders, in Schizophrenia,
and in some forms of epilepsy.
Finally, Wood is associated with the sound of Shouting, not surprising when you think
of its connection with anger and aggression, so a person who always talks in a kind of
shout, aggressive and forceful, is showing sign of Wood imbalance.
Now lets move on to drawing wood element symbol Draw a line vertically downwards.
Then bounce over and to the left, curving round anticlockwise into the right-hand loop
of what will be an 'infinity' symbol.
Make the infinity symbol, left-right, left-right, left-right, so you have traced out three infinity
symbols, finishing at the centre of infinity Now lets move on to the meditaion technique
I will share two meditation approaches that will produce powerful effects within you.
You try both and carry on with the one which is more comfortable for you.
You have to spend 5-10 minutes each day working with only wood energy, for say 7-10 days.
Then move on to another energy.
I will upload the next video of 5 element healing meditation series soon.
Make sure you make notes afterwards on what you experienced.
So for the first way Sit comfortably with spine straight, eyes
gently closed and your hands resting in your lap with palms facing up
Now, Draw out the wood symbol in your mind's eye, up in the air above you.
Just Imagine cascades of energy flooding down onto you from the symbol.
Energy floods into your hands, into your head, into your torso.
Be aware of any sensations in your body, any impressions, and qualities you are experiencing.
Be aware of your emotions, your thoughts, and your state of mind.
Continue this practice for another 5 to 10 minutes.
Once meditation finishes note down your experiences.
In second mediation we bring energy down to Dantein, which is an energy center that can
be found two finger width below your tummy button and 1/3rd of the way into your body.
It is considered as your personal energy reserve, the centre of your creativity and intuition,
the seat of your soul.
It is used extensively in energy cultivation techniques like reiki, Tai Chi and in many
Martial arts forms too!
So for second way to do this wood element healing meditation,
Sit straight with your eyes closed and your hands resting in your lap palms facing up.
Start drawing out the wood symbol in your mind's eye, up in the air above you.
As you inhale, draw energy down from the symbol, into your crown.
Draw energy down the centre of your body to your solar plexus or Dantein enery center.
As you pause before exhaling, feel the energy get stronger in your Dantien.
As you breathe out, feel the energy spread through your body.
Continue for another 5 to 10 mintues.
Make notes afterwards on what you have experienced.

How to hand wash your cycling kit while travelling - Duration: 6:14.Let us wash our cycling kit when travelling!
Hi there! When having a cycling holiday -
- like me here in Mallorca right now -
- you have to wash your clothes.
It is not wise to use the same clothes without washing -
- it may irritate your skin.
It is not worth risking the rest of the holiday -
- so it is best to do the laundry daily.
You can find laundry services in the hotels -
- but many do not use them for sports textiles -
- because the high temperatures -
- especially in the dryer -
- may ruin the textile elasticity.
Which may be the case.
That is why many cyclists wash they clothes by hand.
There is nothing special in the washing process itself -
- but last summer when I participated Team Rynkeby -
- I noticed that many did not know -
- how to get the stuff dry for the next day.
I will show you in a moment.
It is a good idea to bring the detergent from home -
- so you kow it is ok for the textiles and for your skin.
Just rub the clothes in hand warm water -
- with some laundry detergent.
Avoid using too much detergent because -
- it may leave residues and -
- lead once again - to skin problems.
If the clothes are really dirty you can leave them -
- to soak for a while.
Usually that is not needed.
So let us help the detergent to do the job -
- by rubbing and turning the clothes in and out.
The most important is the chamois -
- it must be clean -
- because the skin problems down there are the worst -
- and they may stop you from riding.
The focus in every phase -
- washing, rinsing and drying -
- is in the chamois.
After washing the clothes -
- we rinse the detergent off.
Just new water to the sink -
- and grind the stuff once again through.
And then another rinse round -
- and once more.
Then we know that there are no detergent residues left.
And now we have our laundry -
- clean but soaking wet.
From most of the stuff you can -
- squeeze and event twist the water off -
- but do not twist the chamois.
It may break the stitches -
- which may ruin the whole shorts.
Just squeeze it.
In general this kind of sports textiles -
- dry easily - especially in this kind of conditions -
- like here in Mallorca where it is warm and windy.
But with the chamois the case is different.
It is not good if it stays wet for a long time -
- it may be good environment for bacteria etc.
The best way to dry these is -
- to spread a fluffy towel on the floor -
- and place the wet clothes on it.
And again take care of the chamois -
- it must be placed here lengthwise.
For the other stuff it is not so strict.
The point is in the chamois here.
And now -
- we roll up the towel with the clothes inside.
And for the chamois and the other clothes -
- there will be towel in every layer.
As a result we have this kind of tight roll.
And the actual drying is done like this -
- by stomping on the roll -
- we press the moisture from the clothes -
- to the layers of the towel.
Now the jerseys, gilets etc -
- are almost like taken from the dryer -
- and then -
- the shorts -
- it is already quite dry -
- not wet at all -
- there is a bit moisture still -
- but now when you take these out -
- they will be dry and ready in the morning.
This kind of lifehacks we had today -
- thanks for watching -
- and please give a thumb up if you liked it.
See you next week - bye!

[Eng Sub] Kiss Me Again จูบให้ได้ถ้านายแน่จริง | EP.5 [2/5] - Duration: 7:23.
I'm up.
I'm up already.
Have you woken up?
I have.
Hurry and hit the shower now.
You've got a visitor.
Who?
A guy.
Hit the shower!
Come with me.
Come on.
P'R.
I'm tired already.
I really am
This sofa is so soft.
Here's the deal.
If you agree to follow my request,
when it's over…
I promise…
to get out of your life.
Just pretend to be my girlfriend for 3 months
3 months?
I'll explain the reasons behind this
since you didn't let me finish it that day.
My father gave me an ultimatum
I must quit being a player,
fooling around and also…
Do you think you can quit those habits of yours?
I'm not finished yet.
I must stop seeing Sinee
and spend my time with…
…this four-eyes
Why me?
I don't know.
You are the daughter of my father's best friend, maybe?
That could be the reason he picked you.
Or he probably thinks that a nerdy girl like you can change me
The person who only spends time reading and studying
or loves going to libraries something like that.
I was like that too in the past
It's hard to believe that you were that kind of person
I told you, right?
I could be your tutor too.
No, thanks.
I mean I can be your tutor for something else
that is not related to academics.
But I cannot change anyone
I know
I didn't say I wanted to change myself.
Let's say you just pretend to be my girlfriend for 3 months
That's all I need.
3 months?
Isn't it too overboard?
It's not necessary to involve myself in this matter
You are already involving.
P'R,
can't you find other ways to prove yourself to your father?
Come on.
In 3 month times
my father is going to live in England
After that,
we will end this
and don't have to see each other anymore
I promise not to show up and bother you ever again
Okay?
If you don't say yes,
I will keep bugging you until you do
If I say yes, I have to see you.
If I say no, I still have to see you
What difference does that make?
It does.

Inside the NBA Draft Process With GM Scott Perry | New York Knicks | MSG Networks - Duration: 12:18.there's a lot that goes into preparing for an NBA Draft that really starts well
before the month of June when the draft you know the draft this year's June 21st
but the entire season has been spent you know we have a very highly organized
staff and process in place to make sure that all of our scouts continually you
know watching prospects around the country and around the globe for that
matter we're constantly having finally we put scouting reports a big function
of getting ready for the draft is really learning the backgrounds or intel on
players and so we house a lot of information that we gather throughout
the year so by the time the June rolls around we really start to narrow
down the pool if you will as it relates to the positions that we're going to be
drafting so that's a very important part of the process now a lot of the
prospects will be coming in to work out for us it would allow us to further get
to know the player a lot better not just on the court but off the court we'll get
a chance to go to dinners and and then spend time and learn more about the
person which is very valuable to us because one of the things that's going
to be important to - as we build this team it's the character of the player
and the makeup of the player and you will learn a lot of that as these
individuals come in to work out for us leading up to the draft on the 21st
you have to look at each prospect and evaluate him based on the particular
circumstance that he's in now is it a good thing when you can see a young man
who's playing at a high level of his team is you know competing for his
conference championship or he's competing you know deep into the
NCAA tournament you can and you and you rightfully should weigh some
of that and as it relates to how impactful this prospect is toward the
winning I think the more players that you can have on your roster who are used
to winning they tend to understand the sacrifices necessary that it takes to be
a winning team you know being unselfish being a defensive minded a player
understanding that the game and the team is bigger than his individual goals so
so yeah that's important from that perspective but we also don't want to
penalize let's say a prospect who's very talented who may be playing at a smaller
school or be playing at a even a bigger school whose surrounding talent is not
as good and and just write him off because he's not you know competing for
the national championship or competing for the conference championship because
there's other factors that are involved so again it really gets down to really
understanding analyzing the environment that the prospect is
playing in and then weighting it accordingly
with the one and dones you're getting nineteen year old kids often that have
shown a skill a talent and athleticism that you are projecting out three four
five years down the line that this guy could become a certain level of player
in the NBA and you know with the you know part of
our process part of our toolbox is analytics so you know age sometimes the
younger age can weight stronger in an evaluation of a player
now with all that being said I think it's a little bit unfair to the number
of the guys who have been in college three four years to just write them off
and don't think that they can become very good NBA players because we've seen
that they can and and I think the what you see a lot of times in the draft what
happens is guys that get drafted maybe later in the first round or even early
in the second round over the last number of years have been the college guys who
played three four years but they've come in and played and contributed for teams
because they're more experienced not only as basketball players but they have
matured more as young people they've been through more adverse situations
during their college days so they're more prepared both mentally and
physically to come in and contribute right away so again I'm a person that
likes to look and study each individual case and not put any part you know just
assume because a player is 19 and he's automatically gonna be better than the
guy who's coming into the draft who's 22.
we know that our team could use additional athleticism in strong play at the wing position but we're also at a
stage in building this team that we want to get the best who we feel is the best
talent available so what you hope for and every draft that those two intersect
so the position that you need the best talent is there that is is at that
position that's who's available to you and so we're gonna go into it obviously
with an open mind you know and and we do think in this draft there will be their
wing players who will be in contention for for that pick but there's also guys
that are developing whether it be guards or big people that could end up showing
up at the ninth pick as well that you have to consider so the important part
of our process will be in in terms of how we tier and rank these players so
that we have a clear view on how we see see them from a talent perspective
regardless of position and then we just got to follow our process stick to our
guns and draft who we think is a very best player for us at that time
the point guard is the best talent on the board is he clearly better than the
next guy at the if it's close then you may side toward the position but if it's
clearly it's a clear delineation that he's the best player on the board and
you think that he may be even better than what you have in the house then
okay then you you would look at that position so but you know we're not at
that point where we made that determination yet we're looking forward
to getting you know as we're scheduling these workouts we're looking forward to
getting wings guards and big people in here to examine for that pick is number nine
analytics I think is a very important part to our overall scouting process and
part of my philosophy I'd like to refer to it as it's a tool in the toolbox
there are a number of things that go into evaluating and ultimately selecting
a player and the use of analytics is one of those important tools I think it
helps round your process out it helps check your gut reaction and what your
eye see from time to time because sometimes you you may believe you're
seeing one thing and then you go to the analytics and you check on a player's
performance and a lot of times they will match one another but they're also there
will be times that they don't match and so what I think it forces you to do is
go back and reevaluate and study again either from a plus or
negative side to you know what you think about a particular player so I think
it's a very important part of what we do is very much ingrained in our process if
you will here with the Knicks and it's something that again for me personally
that I continue to grow in this area and and I think we have the guys that work
in our department here that really oversee our analytics they do a
tremendous job and in preparing us and in and developing Draft models and
things of that nature and and in not just the draft just you know what this
helped them prepare for trades and free agency in all parts of what we do it's
an important component
when you talk about social media and technology of today that's how the majority of the young people that you're
evaluating that's how they express themselves and that's how they
communicate that is part of your Intel collection background and again that is
very important to us so yes we're very aware of what guys are doing with the
various Twitter and Instagram handles and because it gives you an insight to
who the person is or who he wants to project himself as and I think it's very
important you learn a lot when you study that and it's information that's
available and I think it's a smart tool and I think most teams in the NBA are
pretty aware of it and follow it to varying degrees
the war room of draft night you know that's a combination of a year's worth of work or multiple years
worth of work in some instances with depending on the players that your whole
entire front office staff has been a part of in terms of the actual night you
know I my personality I'm a pretty even-keeled guy and I think it's
important to stay that way and you know I don't so I don't get out of character
per se and but what I rely on is the preparation of our scouts and the rest
of in the rest of our front office they led us to that night I think if you
you've prepared enough you're comfortable with what can or cannot
happen in the draft whether this the opportunity to move up move back I mean
you've been vetting those type of things leading up to that night so you have an
idea if you know for instance you're in a position if even if you want to to be
able to move back or up or if you're gonna be you know standing pat and then
you you watch the ball but you developed your draft board you can stay discipline
to your draft board based on how you have the talent ranked so again the
majority of the work it's done before that night and so you
know our room will be you know be very working like very calm you know there'll
be a few guys on the phone here and there but I'm really confident we'll be
be highly prepared and look forward to that night there'll be my first draft
night as a general manager so that there'll be probably a little something
extra-special running inside of me because of that

Well I was kind of hoping, but
I think that what's been the eye-opening experience
and then also that it's bridging people together
that normally would never come together.
A lot of people felt divided are like,
"Oh I see somebody for who they are now,"
and was really special.
- I think the biggest shock to me has just been the
amount of conservative people who are watching the show.
The amount of messages I've gotten from pastors and churches
who have told me that my scene with Bobby Camp,
the guy with the six kids,
where I was talking about how I used to pray everyday
and beg and cry for God not to make me gay and I still am,
and so many religious people have contacted me
saying that I've completely changed their view on
homosexuality.
That they realize now that I was born that way
and it wasn't a choice.
And that's a big important thing to me.
- For me it's the fact that so many people are using
our show as a vehicle to come out to their families.
- Yes!
- I've never, ever expected how impactful that would be.
But we've never had so many people come up to us saying,
"After watching your show, I felt comfortable telling my

- I had this amazing girl in Iowa when I went to the
LGBTQ kids Governor's conference there a few weeks ago,
and this girl came up to me with her phone,
and she was like, "This is my coming out post,
"I'm going to say I'm with you,
"And I'm going to do it right now."
- [Everyone] Aww.
- I was like,
"Okay girl."
And she did it.
And then like I met all these other people,
and then she came back an hour later and she's like,
"I'm getting so much support."
It was really, that was like that's amazing.
- But what's nice about that, at least for me,
that wasn't the goal.
Like that wasn't why we had that conversation with AJ.
It was a very simple, very honest,
private conversation, with cameras,
that ended up affecting so many people,
which I just think is a testament to the universality
of the show and why it's important to have these
talks especially now.
- You guys tackle a lot of social issues,
was that the intention from the get-go
or did that kind of naturally progress?
- It wasn't the intention, but for me,
to have culturally relevant conversations
was important, y'know.
Each of us have a different comfort level
of what we're willing to talk about
or what we want to talk about.
But what we are good at is listening,
and knowing that if the hero wants to go somewhere,
it's our job to go there with them.
So with the religion,
with y'know, your cultural background being Pakistani
and Indian,
with me and the police officer,
it was like this moment has presented itself,
so we would do a disservice
if we did not have a conversation
while entertaining.
- The original show was much more light-hearted,
and I think our intention at the beginning
was just to kind of do that.
And then when we got in there
and we realized there are so many polarizing topics
right now, far left and far right,
and we had the opportunity to really bring people together,
like us, kind of on the left,
and people on the right in Atlanta,
that you normally wouldn't see just sitting there
having real conversations.
And I think it humanized us,
in a world right now where we all don't think of each other
sometimes as humans.
- I think the other thing, speaking to that point,
is that you, so much of the time
when we get in arguments or disagreements
with people that are on the other side,
especially like on social media where there's like
so much confrontation.
We weren't trying to change anyone,
like that's not the intention to change anyone,
it's about meeting people where they're at,
and every one of our heroes met us where we're at.
So it's kind of an opportunity or an exercise
in being like,
just kind of accepting someone for who they are.
Like "I'm not trying to change you,
"you're not trying to change me.
"We're just finding commonalities
"where we can both connect."
And then in my case it's like,
We all want to look a little cuter and feel a little cuter,
like I don't need to know that you're a card carrying
member of the NRA,
like we'll leave that for a different day.
Let's focus on a connected issue for now.
- You know I heard you say on that topic
that you guys are kind of, people always ask you,
"You're judging my outfit right now."
- Yep.
- And you guys are kind of these judgmental people,
but how you guys ended that quote is,
"We find what's beautiful about you,
"and lift you up."
And that's so important in America today.
So thank you for doing that.
It really stood out.
So did you guys watch the original show?
- [Everyone] Yeah. - Of course we did.
- Now, we were kinda doing the math
trying to think
some of you guys were teenagers,
- I was 21, 22.
- Were you guys out yet?
Were you watching that?
- No.
- I was out.
So I was on MTV's Real World at the time when
Queer Eye came out.
And so we were sort of doing these parallel
first openly gay black guy and Queer Eye cast
things together.
And I remember the first and only time I've ever won
an award, hopefully not the only time,
but the first time I won an award,
I got the award and they were like, "It's a tie!
"With Queer Eye!"
And I was like
(clapping)
(laughter)
And never at that point did I think will I one day
follow in their footsteps even though I respect
and love them so much.
And to be here now, is pretty amazing.
- I worked in multiple furniture stores in New York
years ago, that Queer Eye filmed in.
So Thom Filicia was in there filming with the heroes
and I just remember standing there watching him,
never in a million years
thinking that fast forward 15 years later
I'd be taking his place.
- What about you Ant?
- It just seems like, it's crazy thinking about it,
but I would watch the show with my,
my sisters would watch it, actually I wouldn't watch it,
I would like sort of pass by and watch secretly
because I still felt like this weird shame
and kind of like engaging in it too much.
And then I worked for Ted.
For Ted Allen. For a couple of years.
Which is like really bizarre,
and when I look back now
I keep on thinking, like
am I completely delusional?
Did I not have that thought?
But I never really did
and now it just kind of all makes sense,
the way it's all sort of fit together.
- It's like us.
How we all fit together.
- [Everyone] Yeah.
(Karamo laughs)
- Now Antoni I just want to ask you something about
people are not nice to you on social media,
kinda criticizing
some of the recipes-- - What are you talking about?
- Some of the recipes.
Do you have a message to those haters?
- Read the New York Times article maybe.
- [Everyone] Yeah.
- I think that it was a lot of attention from the get-go
and when you get a lot of positive attention,
it's bound to sort of like go down,
the way waves sort of work.
And I just think that's part of the process.
Honestly, I stay in my own lane.
I also remember this is not a cooking show.
It's not me trying to show molecular gastronomy or
sous vide eating to somebody
who eats out of cans.
It's about showing what works for that person
and that's what we're there to do to keep it simple.
If I come up with something super intimidating,
then it's a lost opportunity.
It's like bringing up politics right when I meet somebody
who has a Trump banner in front of their house.
I'm going to miss an opportunity to actually connect
on a really human, simple level.
It's about planting that seed
and just trying to have it grow from there.
I'll jerk off in my cookbook with my skills so,
I don't need to do it on the show, but thanks.
- That's the most shocking I've ever been from anything
you've ever said before.
- No but it's like,
that's like there's a place for everything.
- What's interesting about that is
right before you that said that sentence,
I was like, "Great answer."
- That's exactly what I was thinking!
- And then you said that I was like.
- I was like what just happened?
- To be fair, a lot of people forget
that we shoot for five days sometimes 12 hours a day.
And it gets cut into 47- 48 minutes.
- [Everyone] Yeah.
- So all of us have these long moments when we spend
with the heroes.
Antoni will cook meals with them which show them so much.
- Yeah like cross some scenes,
and look at the background,
there's like three other dishes and other components
that didn't even make it.
Like I'm not even going to tackle that
because again, it's not what it's about.
But thank you.
You're absolutely right.
- At the end of day, our show is about
the transformation about the guy, of our hero.
Not what I've done for his house,
not what Antoni taught him how to cook.
It's about showing the transformation of how
we've helped that guy see how beautiful he is
inside and out.
And that's where our editing time goes,
is to the viewers to see him.
- And also it's like human nature, like
you get five guys who are all passionate,
and all good at what we do.
And like everyone is living for a little Queer Eye moment.
Like, of course you're going to have that 7% of trolls
that are going to like, y'know.
And there's like
what are you doing with your day?
(laughter)
'Cause we out here doing this.
What are you out there doing?
Get off Twitter and the Gram
and go do something with yourself.
Is your mom not telling you to get that ass of the couch?
- Now I can't let you guys go, we're running out of time,
and not ask you about Season Two.
What can you reveal?
- I think Tan needs to tell us, tell us.
- So if you love Season One, which you did,
you're going to love Season Two so much more.
I love Season One but there's so much more diversity
in Season Two.
Straight out of the gate, we start with a woman.
We make over a woman,
and people have been asking for this through social media,
ever since we launched the show.
So we actually do take on our first woman
and she is formidable. - Amazing.
- She is an incredible, incredible woman.
You will fall in love with her.
And also, we have our first trans guy.
So there's so much to look forward to this season.
Honestly, I think everybody at home is gonna love it.
- That's amazing.
I actually am so glad that you answered that question,
I hear you have a great American accent.
- Oh my gosh, yeah.
- What are you having for lunch today, Tan?
- Okay, I'm gonna have a burger,
and then I'm going to Starbucks,
I'd like a Venti coldbrew.
And I work at Neflix.
- I just want to let you know that no one sounds
Oh I do sound like that.
You're right.
(laughter)
I was gonna say, "People in America do not sound like that."
- What's really amazing is that people don't realize
that Tan and I actually come from the same place.
And I took an accent removal course.
- And I took my accent removal course.
- And so we both come from Doncaster
but we don't really talk about it too much,
'cause we don't wanna like go against the story
that we've told.
- At some point over the next few years,
he's known me for a year,
and he still can't pronounce--
- Dan-caster!
- It's Don-caster.
- No, no it's Dahn-caster.
- Thank you Dahn-caster.
- That's actually exactly what I've said, Tan.
I'm so sick of you always saying things
about my accent, Tannie.
- Stop it. This is the first time I've ever gonna say this,
'cause Jonathan ordinarily would kill me.
The person who does really good British accent on this show,
is not him, it's him. - It's me.
Hold on, you think it's me. It's me.
- You are so lucky you did that on camera.
- I know that, that's why I waited!
- Cut the tape, cut the tape.
- This about to get real.
- This interview is over and we're gonna be in the hallway
in a few seconds.
- It was so lovely knowing all of you.
He's going to kill me.
- I hope that was worth it.
I hope that was worth it, Tan.
I hope that was worth it.
Thanks for having us.
(laughter)
- I do have a question for you.
- Sure!
- I wanted to ask you--
- How do I put up with this constant verbal abuse?
- Yes!
- I don't know.
I'm honestly a saint.
- I've been dying to ask you this 'cause honestly,
you speak in gifs.
Like you are hilarious.
- And beautiful brilliant accents, I appreciate it.
But that's fine! It's fine!
It's- Tan, it's fine.
It's fine.
It's totally fine.
I don't want you to freak out.
- It's gonna be a dark day for all of us.
- Tan. Don't worry.
This is not as bad as a time,
- I've never been so worried.
- It's not as bad. You're fine.
- [Antoni] You had a question did you?
- Tell me about your question.
- Well I was going to ask you, - I don't want you to worry.
- Were you always so outspoken?
Or is that something you developed?
- Oh, she misspoke.
Have you always been so frustrating?
(laughter)
Or is it something you developed?
- Oh it's starting here.
It's not starting when the camera,
we're doing this now aren't we?
This is where we're at.
- Let this be known as the day where the Fab 5 fell apart.
- As you can see they always have a good time.
- No, I've always been very outspoken
and very much um..
I've always been very outspoken
and very much like, you know willing to live in this lane.
- Yeah.
- Yeah.
- Amazing. Guys thank you so much for joining us.
- Thank you for having us. - It was so much fun.
I have so many questions we didn't even ask
because I mean, I could just talk to you guys forever.
Thank you so much and make sure to catch Queer Eye
on Netflix.
- Don't kill me Jonathan Van Ness.
- Season Two.

If You Eat Zucchini Everyday, This Is What Happens To Your Body (Zucchini Benefits) - Duration: 3:03.Zucchini can be a very versatile vegetable due to its fresh taste and texture.
It can be used to prepare several different dishes, such as zucchini pasta, which is much
richer in nutrients than traditional pasta.
Zucchini is rich in niacin and is a source of vitamin B and vitamin A, as well as minerals
like potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sodium, and magnesium.
Because it's an excellent source of fibers and contains large amounts of water, zucchini
is easy to digest and largely used to regulate bowel movements.
But its benefits don't end there.
Here are 5 reasons to add zucchini to your diet:
It helps you lose weight Zucchini is the perfect food for those who
want to lose a few pounds.
Since it's dense and low in calories, zucchini can satisfy you in small amounts.
In addition, it's rich in fiber that decreases sugar absorption and fat ingestion, effecting
the long-term weight loss process.
It fights hypertension High blood pressure is a risk factor because
it directly increases the risk of heart disease.
Zucchini is rich in minerals like potassium and magnesium that help balance blood pressure.
It improves digestion Zucchini is rich in B-complex vitamins, such
as niacin, which help promote proper digestion.
Because it's rich in fiber, it also regulates bowel movements and improves nutrient absorption
during digestion.
It improves eye health Among its many nutrients, zucchini also contains
lutein and zeaxanthin.
These two pigments are responsible for absorbing the energy of blue light emitted by the sun,
and preventing free radicals from causing damage to our eyes.
Intake of these pigments has been proven to reduce the risk of macular degeneration and
possible blindness.
It protects the skin Just as the lutein and zeaxanthin present
in zucchini are beneficial for our eyes, these pigments are also very important for our skin's
health, and can even prevent melanoma (skin cancer).
They also have antioxidant action and are capable of improving our skin's hydration
and elasticity in addition to preventing damage caused by the sun.
Plus, zucchini vitamins serve as antioxidants that fight many skin problems related to aging.
Manganese, one of the minerals found in zucchini, helps in the formation of collagen, the protein
that supports the skin.
If you eat zucchini often, here's a tip:
Don't store it for more than five days in the refrigerator so that its medicinal properties
aren't lost.

How to Paint a Woman's Face in Watercolor - Duration: 5:30.Hello my friends and welcome to another Tuesday of tutorial!
I am Leonardo Pereznieto and today we will paint a face with watercolor.
We begin applying some purple for the hair, and also for some of the main shadows.
Like so.
I´m doing it on dry paper, but wherever I don´t want a line to be marked,
I get the paper wet with other clean brush and water.
So as to smudge it. I sometimes do this with the left hand so that can work
with both at the same time.
And we did the pupils…
like so.
I know right now they look a bit strange [laughter].
The iris, very lightly for now,
and we continue with some of the shades.
As you see, we are doing light washes.
Let´s give more color, a grayish blue to the iris.
I´m using a fine round brush.
The upper part of the eye will be darker because of the shadow that it receives.
Very good!
Now she is looking [laughter].
The eyebrows… and we will darken this area a little bit.
By the eye. I smudge and integrate it with a wet clean brush, and we can add
the shadows on the lower part of the nose.
Let´s darken this line by the upper eyelids and then we can begin painting the lips.
I´ll use a reddish brown for this, like a burnt
sienna, with a little bit of red.
I know, her eyes are not looking toward the same spot
I noticed that too, don´t worry, we will fix it in a little bit.
But now, we add some color to the skin. Again, some burnt sienna with a little bit of
red, and for the areas of light some yellow.
And darken the hair and the shadows.
This as you see is not going to be a realistic portrait, it is going to be more
creative.
What I mean is that we can use our artistic license to change the colors
and the reality.
We can create our own reality
which is the magic of art.
We darken the areas of the hair that are in shadow,
and give some color to the rest.
And I feel we need a little bit more contrast
so let´s add some more dark.
As you can see, the watercolor when it dries, it lightens.
So you may want to apply it a little bit darker than what you intend it to be in
the end.
And let's some more brown to the brows.
The list of materials that I am using for this project,
is in the information below the video.
When you paint in watercolor a key factor for success
is that you use a good paper,
a good watercolor paper.
As it needs to absorb and hold the water.
And I ´ll darken everything from the height of the brows down to the nose.
I know right now it doesn't make a lot of sense but it will.
Now I want to add some colors to the background and integrate the hair and face to it.
So let´s get everything wet and drop some colors.
This is really fun!
I left a dry square toward the top left to have something like a light over there.
Now the hair will not have a sharp end against the background, but it will be very soft.
This side of the nose will be in shade.
You may apply the paint with the brush and if it is too much, you can easily pick some with
a tissue.
Also with a brush you can lightly scrub a wet area, if you want to lighten it
or to soften or erase the edge of a line.
Like on the forehead, I get it wet and rub slightly to get a highlight.
If you are using soft or natural brushes, you may want to switch to a harder one
for the rubbing.
Let´s add some little tone and texture to the lips.
And now let´s go a little bit more wild, I want some splashes and drippings.
We can lift the paper so they run.
Let´s do some other ones, this is so cool.
All right!
And now let´s drop some other ones of this side.
And some more.
Very good!
¡Excelente!
Let´s do some final ones like this,
and it´s ready!
If you enjoyed it please give it a LIKE! share it to your friends
and subscribe to Fine Art-Tips.
And I will see you, on Tuesday ;)

AI UX | Create Families of Products | Intel Software - Duration: 2:52.This is AIUX, a mini series focused on 10 guidelines that
were created to assist all those that
are involved in the design and development
of AI-based systems.
I'm Daria Loi, and today, I will talk about guideline number 10,
create families of products.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
Each time I interviewed owners of several smart devices,
they mentioned their desire for smarter interoperability
across devices.
One female participant that shares a three-story house
with her husband and 9-year-old daughter
told me about their successes, failures, and frustrations
with setting up smart home devices, as well as
the advantages of using them.
Her wish was that they could do a better job of understanding
when to and when not to listen when she's talking
to a system versus the other, and how a system communicates
with the other.
My research shows that once someone embraces an AI system,
the likelihood is high that additional devices will
be considered provided that the first system delivers
the high ROI.
This means that the number of users
with multiple AI-powered systems will increase over time.
If you're selling such systems, this is great news.
But what will happen when more and more devices enter
people's homes and start to fail to provide value in ROI
as a group of systems?
Imagine purchasing a series of new smart home systems
after having had a great user experience
to beat your first purchase.
Now, imagine trying unsuccessfully
to get all your systems to talk to each other
and to your original purchase.
Imagine noticing that your first purchase started malfunctioning
due to the new additions.
It would be very frustrating, a waste
of a lot of your time and energy.
You'll feel less inclined to purchase additional systems
and may even consider never again
using the system that was originally
such a great addition to your daily life.
This is why I highly recommend you consider
engaging with a family of products design process
from day one.
Each intelligent system should be
designed as a node in a complex, dynamic network of systems,
a superorganism, if you wish, with collective consciousness.
This design attitude will help you
not only to prevent the issues I described earlier,
it may even open up new usage opportunities.
Thanks for watching.

I will see you next week on Tuesday
for the last episode of AIUX.

Been a bad girl, I know I am
And I'm so hot, I need a fan
I don't want a boy, I need a man
Click-clack Badda bing badda boom
All eyes on me when I step in the room
If you don't know, better ask somebody
Watch your man hit the deck like pang pang pang
pangpang parapara pangpangpang
Raise your glass to the roof like jjang jjang jjang
Hands up, lit with a bottle full of Henny
Watch your mouth when you speak my name Jennie
As light dances with me
Black to the pink
Always special (Oh yes)
Even if I'm being watched, I wanna dance
Like ttaradaradanttan
ttaradaradanttan ttudurubbau
Let's rise tonight wow
Don't stop this feeling of love
Oh no, I will fall in love
I want to dance with you
Let your body dance for itself tonight
Beyond that sky, how far will we go
Ignore the goal, it's only for you
Let's go, let's go

[Verse 2] All I know I'm courtside at the games
