How this African beat spread through Latin America - Duration: 7:38.

If you go to a Shakira concert, you may see her do this.

It's this part of her show where the drummer starts soloing and she's kind of freestyle

dancing.

And during this section, she's dancing to a variation of the exact same beat.

In its most basic form, it sounds like this.

"Cumbia de Colombia!"

Did you catch that?

"Cumbia de Colombia".

The music is called Cumbia.

You can even hear it in electronic dance tracks.

And it has its own category in the Latin Grammys.

And it all started here, up near the Caribbean coast of Colombia.

I traveled to the villages where Cumbia comes from.

And I learned that this specific place, here along the Magdalena River, was fertile soil

from which this music could grow.

But Cumbia is in fact a blend of several strong musical traditions.

Mainly African and indigenous, but also European, mixing together to make something new.

Something totally unique to the time and place from which it came.

Okay now just watch what these two drummers are playing.

We can also look at this another way.

This beat is the backbone of Cumbia.

And I wanted to find out where it came from, so I flew to the beautiful Caribbean city

of Cartagena and drove south to a village that was founded hundreds of years ago.

In the early 1500s, the Spanish came to Colombia as part of their Latin American conquest.

And with them they brought more than 100,00 captive Africans.

But some of these slaves managed to escape and build their own communities.

And that's how this village was formed.

This place is the first known settlement of slaves who rebelled and started their own

community back in the 17th century.

And so because of that, they were able to maintain a great deal of their African culture.

The residents of this village preserve their history with music, which is based on the

rhythms their ancestors brought over from the homeland.

These songs are a living, breathing part of the town's culture and history.

And with time, these beats started to spread in the region, influencing different styles

of music.

Does this sound familiar?

This is the beating heart of Cumbia and no matter how many instruments are incorporated,

or in what country it's played, the beat always stays the same.

The drumbeat brought over from Africa is the main ingredient of Cumbia, but eventually

the rhythm started blending with instruments from a totally different musical culture:

that of the indigenous people of Colombia.

I came to visit the Gaiteros de San Jacinto, a musical group that has been playing Cumbia

since the 1950's.

In 2007 they won a Latin Grammy for their folk album and they're able to continue by

training up new generations, who keep these old traditions alive.

We're in the backyard of one of the drummers,

who's showing me how they make their own instruments

using the same methods their ancestors did, like these maracas.

And this flute, called the Gaita, which is a quintessential indigenous instrument.

So this is what the cultural fusion of the root of Cumbia looks like: you have the Gaita,

a key element in indigenous music, and then you have the drum section playing rhythms

directly influenced by the African village just an hour from here.

Together they create this unique Cumbia sound.

In addition to the African rhythm and the indigenous wind instruments, there's one more

ingredient to this fusion: the European influence.

The Cumbia is always evolving and there's one

more European influence that is more recent.

It's this instrument that Yeison is holding: the accordion.

And in fact, it was his grandfather, dubbed the "King of Cumbia," who traded his Gaita

flute for an accordion, thus changing Cumbia forever.

But once formed in this region, it didn't stay put.

In the past century, Cumbia has spread throughout all of Latin America, further evolving in

the process.

While I was in Colombia, I shot an extra bonus episode for

our friends over at Eater.

It's about this amazing fruit market in Bogota that I visited and it was really fun.

I think you'll love it.

It's gonna be published on Eater's YouTube channel, so head over there to subscribe and

I hope you like the episode.

Richard Wolff talks about the cultural purge of critiques of capitalism in America - Duration: 3:53.

The next effect, economically, was to get rid of Socialists, Communists,

left-wingers, liberals of all kinds teaching in American schools: public

schools, colleges, universities. They too were demonized. They were dupes. They were

agents, all the words that some of you, the older ones among the audience,

remember. And this had an interesting effect. It basically removed from the

learning process of most Americans critical ideas about the system you live

in. Socialists raised questions about American capitalism, Communists raised

questions, they offered alternatives, they made people able to see that capitalism

has flaws and capitalism has weaknesses and that there are people who have

struggled with those and come up with better solutions to problems. You know

that's how human progress works, always has. You identify something in the

society that needs fixing and then you fix it. You come up with a better way of

doing it, a better way of thinking about it, a better way of approaching a problem.

That's why we don't rub sticks together to make a fire. We've learned something.

And that was because people early on said "there must be a better way to start

a fire than spending all this time rubbing these two damn wet sticks

together". Well if you don't criticize capitalism in school you'll prevent

people from learning to think critically about their system and that undercuts

progress. It makes you stay with the system you've got because you're afraid to

think critically. You're afraid to allow a teacher to raise with students the

questions of flaws, and faults things that could be done better, ways of

approaching questions and solving problems in a different way.

All of that was gotten rid of across the board in the United States.

Not a 100%, you never can do that, but overwhelmingly. And even those

professors who were left (who weren't left-wing but were left in their jobs)

were afraid to say anything because they saw what happened to their colleagues

and he didn't want it to happen to them. But the purge went even deeper and

further. There was that famous case of the Hollywood 10. The government got rid

of, and with absolutely with the cooperation of the big film studios

involved in Hollywood, of all kinds of progressive, left-wing, socialist,

communist, liberal filmmakers, writers artists, actors, actresses. Destroyed their

careers to get the message across that Hollywood was not to make movies that

make working people heroes. It was to make movies that said our industrial

leaders were captains of industry. Kind of funny when you think that at the end

of the last century those same people were called Robber Barons. Wow. You change

a culture. And so whether the movies or the TV shows that came in, or the radio

shows, or the schools, or the universities, or the colleges, or the labor movement -

wherever the purge could go, it went. Hounding people for their ideas. Hounding

people for the questions they asked. Silencing an entire generation.

This Is What's Really Happening When Dogs Cry - Duration: 2:44.

this is what's really happening when dogs cry any dog owner will agree in

saying that dogs are very expressive creatures through a combination of

verbal and nonverbal cues we've learned to identify when a dog is feeling

emotion such as happiness excitement and nervousness however when it comes to

sadness it can be tricky to pick out specific cues a dog may exhibit we know

that when humans are sad they show it with tears but our dog is able to do the

same when it comes to answering the question of whether or not dogs can cry

real tears the answer is an unsatisfactory sort of owners of light

coated dogs can certainly attest that dogs have working tear ducts just take a

look at the staining that can happen on there light coats dogs do in fact have

the same tear ducts that perform the same function as a human's that is their

tear ducts release the basal tears necessary to keep the eyes moist and the

reflexive tears needed to fluctuate irritants and elegance but the dogs have

the tears that come in response to emotional stimulation these emotional

tears are produced in a much larger volume than either basal or reflexive

tears and are what many people refer to as real tears as it turns out canine

tear ducts do not work in this manner or for the same reasons but this doesn't

mean that dogs don't get emotional it just means that they don't express their

feelings through tears when dogs experience feelings of sadness loss or

pain they show their emotional state through vocalizations such as whimpering

whining and howling any combination of these vocalizations is used to help dogs

communicate their sadness or pain with the goal of having these situations

resolved humans and dogs may express their negative feelings in different

ways but they serve the same purpose human's tears are used to show those

around them that they're upset in the hope that they receive comfort whereas a

dog's vocalizations are used to help them achieve a specific goal that will

help them feel better such as going outside or being near

their favorite human just because dogs don't burst into tears

when they're hurt or upset doesn't mean that they don't have feelings it just

means that they express them in a different way this is probably a good

thing if you ask us because can you imagine what would happen if those said

puppy-dog eyes filled with real tears dogs would have total control over us

When I Met The Rock | Spice Adams - Duration: 3:32.

- What's up everybody? This is Spice Adams,

and I'm gonna tell you a story

of how I met "The Rock."

You guys might call him Dwayne Johnson

or The Rock. I call him DJ,

you know, because we tight like that.

But anyways, I'm on the set of "Ballers,"

and we're in this restaurant called

The Capital Grille.

So I'm going over my lines,

over my head. I'm like,

"O.K. I got it, whatever. Blah, blah, blah."

What's so crazy is,

everybody in the restaurant - they're extras.

So when the producer says, "Action!"

then it's like you're in a restaurant.

Like people are eating, people are on their phones,

and like it sounds like a actual restaurant.

But then when he says, "Cut!"

it's like complete silence.

So it's like....

It's crazy.

I felt like I was just like in a dream

or something like that,

because when you hear like forks hitting

the plates, or whatever....

But anyways.

So The Rock comes in,

you know, shirt is like unbuttoned

to like right here, or whatever.

He's smelling of like rich lavender, or whatever.

He's like walking around,

the fumes are catching people.

They're like, "Oh, my God! It's The Rock."

And he's like, "Yeah, you know, I'm The Rock.

I got all these movies.

I was a wrestler. Hahaha."

He's shaking hands,

you know, kissing babies and stuff like that.

Comes to the table, he sees Rob,

they make a little inside joke

that I don't know nothing about, or whatever.

They laugh.

"Man, you so funny, man."

He sees me. "Hey! What's up, Spice?"

I'm like, "Hey, what's going on man?"

So he goes in for the fist bump,

but I go in for the handshake.

And it was like his fist was coming like slo-mo,

and I was like, "Aw, come on, dog!"

So it was kinda like this,

and then he notices

that I go in for the handshake,

so he switched his to the handshake,

and then I switched mine back

to the fist bump.

And it was complete awkwardness, man,

for like 10 seconds

until we got it right.

And so we shook hands,

and mine was a lot firmer than his

because ... look at me. I'm like stronger.

But anyways,

that was awkward.

And he was like, "Haha. Don't worry about it, man.

Happens all the time."

Something corny like that.

That just mess your whole day up.

It's like if you're wearing some

all-white Air Ones

and you get a scuff on them,

your whole day is jacked up.

The moral to the story is:

When you meet somebody at first

you always go in with paper, because

they usually gonna throw the rock.

So I win.

So, The Rock - I know you watching.

Rock, paper, scissor -

paper cover the rock.

I knew you was gonna throw the rock.

It was cool to meet The Rock.

And then for him to put me in his contact list

and text me and call me as much as he does.

I think that's really cool.

Hold up.

This is him right now.

Man, that's crazy.

Man, I was just talking about you, DJ.

Yeah, I gotta hit you back, though.

I just talked to him.

I talk to him all the time.

He got a special like little ringtone,

or whatever - the song from "Moana."

I originally wrote that.

Me and ... what's my man name from "Hamilton"?

How you say his name?

Manuel!

His last name Manuel.

That's pretty good then, right?

Episode 34

Lord Xu.

This doesn't have the signature of the magistrate

or Registrar Wang.

I am afraid this is against regulation.

the Ministry of Rites sent their writ to me directly.

Surely I am fully in charge of welcoming the imperial envoy.

But this...

But what?

The imperial envoy will soon arrive.

If there's any delay, will you take the responsibility?

Officer Cai.

I've handed you the budget now.

If you cause a delay, I will have you removed from office and punished!

A petty man

intoxicated by success.

I must have been blind.

Why would I ally with an ever-hungry wolf?

[Huxian Yamen]

Don't loaf around over there! I want that spotless.

- How many times did you clean this sundial? - My Lord.

Three times.

Not enough.

Get some clear water and clean it three more times.

Oh right.

Did you change the drum at the door?

Don't worry.

They're all new.

Also,

the fence at the gate are also freshly painted.

Watch this place for me.

Yes, sir.

Runners.

Time is tight and our task is heavy.

All halls and rooms in the county yamen

must be cleaned until they're spotless.

Or else,

I'll cut your salaries

by three months!

Understood?

Yes, sir.

Go.

My Lord.

Come up with a plan quickly.

You can't allow those guys to be so brazen.

Yes, my Lord.

If you don't find a way to stop them,

all of our previous efforts would be wasted.

Stay calm.

Let them run around.

We'll see how long they can keep this up.

Bear with it for now.

Don't do anything reckless.

I know what to do.

Yes, my Lord.

Sheriff Ye.

I'm here. Come in.

Come in.

Lord Registrar.

Sheriff Ye.

You came here for...?

[County Yamen]

You useless bastards.

Why is it so difficult for you to do the littlest of things?

Look at this.

Look at all the dirt behind this board!

Don't you know what the board stands for?

Come take this board down!

Listen up!

Clean it until it's spotless!

Got it.

Bastards.

My Lord. This place is really clean.

It's so different.

Lord Wang.

Do my eyes deceive me,

or is that really Lord Xu?

Why did Lord Xu

climb up there himself?

From this angle it seems

your legs have become quite skinny from all your running.

Yes, I have been

seeing Lord Xu run around here these few days.

What are you cleaning the backside of the board for?

You don't have to go that far, do you?

It's just an imperial envoy.

Lord Xu, be careful.

Take this.

You are wrong.

Yes. The imperial envoy would never

climb up there to examine whether the board is clean or not.

But the emperor sent someone here.

It is my Huxian's honor.

I render my service to the imperial court, to the emperor.

I must put my heart and soul into this.

So?

Just because the envoy won't examine it,

just because he won't notice, does it mean

that we can resort to deception?

It's quite enough, Lord Xu.

Why involve the emperor in the cleaning of a board.

That's quite the reach, isn't it?

It's not a reach at all.

Who would have thought

that the imperial envoy will come to our Huxian?

But now?

He's coming.

Seeing the envoy is like seeing the emperor.

How do you know

I won't meet the emperor one day?

Oh, Lord Xu,

you are very aspirational.

Yes, yes.

It's truly admirable.

Admirable.

Let's go.

When a petty man gets his way,

the gentlemen's days are numbered.

- Get up there and clean it! - Yes, sir.

I lost.

You are the better chess player.

If my son

could have half of your talent and wisdom,

I'd be content.

Xiaokun did it in a moment of foolishness.

Oh right,

I heard that you

left the capital because of a few rumors a while ago.

I'm glad

the imperial court

has given you this assignment soon after.

The emperor's mother

helped put in a good word for me.

I see.

I'm sure that this trip through Yunnan and Guizhou

will make you realize your great ambition.

Lord Guan.

We're almost in Huxian, aren't we?

Very soon.

You must be tired from the long journey.

I'm not tired.

With the mountains and rivers of Guizhou

this trip was blessed with beautiful sceneries.

I liked it very much.

Miss Yingying. I'm coming.

[Huxian]

Why aren't they here yet?

My Lord. The envoy's procession has arrived.

They're here.

The envoy is arriving.

If you dare get there before me,

in front of all the county's gentries and people.

Then you'd

really be utterly disregarding my feelings.

All of today

was set up by me.

You duty-neglecting useless county magistrate,

what right do you have to walk in front of me?

I must be the first to meet the envoy.

The official is good,

the official is great,

the official is wearing his black cap.

Suddenly one day a high official arrives.

Jumps off the sedan chair he begins to run.

And you run,

and he runs.

Isn't this laughable and so much fun?

Sheriff Ye, don't be so mean.

It's because

you seem quite depressed.

I made this poem just to cheer you up.

Being an official is just about leaning on those above and stepping on those below.

You think it's laughable

but many people

would do anything to get the chance

to do something so laughable.

You are right, Registrar Wang.

I'm Hua Qingfeng. Greetings, Lord Envoy.

Guojiu.

Lord Guan, after you.

All right.

What...

I'm Huxian's Assistant Magistrate Xu Boyi.

Greetings, Lord Envoy.

No need to be so polite.

Please stand up.

Stand up quickly.

Stand up quickly.

Thank you, Lord Envoy.

I am the minister of rites, Guan Haishan.

This is our Guojiu.

Li Xuancheng.

Greetings, Minister Guan.

Greetings, Li Guojiu.

No need to be so polite.

I am just the vice envoy.

Lord Guan has priority.

You are Magistrate Hua?

I am.

And this would be Assistant Magistrate Xu?

I am.

All right. Guojiu.

So let us

follow these two leaders of the county

to meet everyone?

Lord Guan, after you.

I am Huxian's sheriff Ye Xiaotian.

Greetings, Minister.

Greetings, Lord Envoy.

Sheriff Ye.

After you left the capital,

you still have the same air around you.

It's wonderful.

My Lord. Your health is still good as always.

I am also very glad to see it.

Greetings, Lord Guojiu.

Sheriff Ye.

So we meet again.

You and I

are quite fated.

You are right, Lord Guojiu.

It is a small world.

Why do Guan Haishan and Li Guojiu, such high officials,

know Ye Xiaotian?

This guy has got serious tricks up his sleeves.

Judging by their expression

they don't seem very friendly with each other.

Welcome, Lord Envoy.

Welcome to Huxian, Guojiuye.

All right. Please have a seat.

From what I know,

it's only been 3 years since Huxian was set up as a county,

and it's already made such achievements.

It's a great service to mankind.

The imperial court inspires awe throughout the country.

We are only leaning on the imperial court's power

to do what's in our power.

We don't deserve your praise.

Guojiu and I came here by order of the emperor.

We all hope that this matter will be a success.

This is the imperial court's honor

and everyone's merit.

I wonder what your plans are,

is a concept in place yet?

Lord Guan.

Guojiuye.

Please rest assured.

Lord Envoy, please rest assured.

I will call the

village chiefs and protectors,

elders, and the various tribes' leaders tomorrow.

I will call on them

to change their names.

They are their places' prestigious people.

Once they change their names, their people

will do so too with little persuasion.

Thank you, Assistant Magistrate Xu.

It's my duty.

It is just my job.

That Xu Boyi

uses flattery to get favors,

but he is clever and competent.

As for the magistrate,

he seems hopelessly stupid,

like a doormat. No need to mention him.

Oh right.

How could I forget about that monkey?

Try it.

I wanted to return to the capital soon.

You sly monkey.

Don't you cause me any trouble here.

Sirs, please.

Sheriff Ye, please wait.

Guojiuye asks for you.

Let's go.

What can I do for you, Guojiuye?

Sheriff Ye.

Why don't you sit down so we can have a talk?

I'm here on orders of the emperor.

I have the right to act arbitrarily and make autonomous decisions about matters concerning Huxian.

I have further the right to appoint and dismiss officials of rank 5 and lower,

as well as handle their reward and punishment.

The capable will be commended, the incapable will be punished.

This is to show that our emperor handles reward and punishment fairly.

I asked you here

to give you a reminder.

You need to give us a good performance.

Or else, even if I wish to look after you,

I may not be able to be partial.

Thank you, Guojiuye.

But speaking from common sense,

this

right to make autonomous decisions

should be Lord Guan's right, shouldn't it?

What?

Do I, as the second envoy

not have the right to consult and join the discussion?

Actually,

whether you do or don't,

it hasn't much to do with me either way.

I am very content with my

current situation.

Even though my merit isn't much,

but it's forgivable.

It's not enough to be punished.

Guojiuye, you've had a tiring trip.

You should have an early rest.

I'll be taking my leave.

What's the hurry?

Sit for a while.

It's actually like this,

I just got married.

I can't leave my wife at home too long.

She will scold me if I come home late.

What did you say?

You... you got married?

I have just gotten married.

Speaking of which, you know my wife too.

She is Xia Yingying.

That Li Xuancheng.

He didn't give up.

He even chased her to Huxian.

Yingying.

What are you doing right now?

Old Madam.

My surname is Ye.

My name is Xiaotian.

I am Huxian's magistrate.

What the hell is a magistrate?

My surname is Ye.

My name is Xiaotian.

I am Tongren's prefecture magistrate.

Can't you give me something greater?

A higher ranking official.

From the beginning.

Come on.

I am... I am Guizhou's governor.

What the hell is the Guizhou's governor?

Stop laughing.

Look at yourself.

Look at your dolled up face.

Your lipstick makes you look like a monster.

Stop laughing.

If you can't be serious,

I'm gonna

marry you off to

that 60 something year old single gatekeeper.

Don't, Miss.

If not, than hurry.

Hurry, hurry.

Old Madam.

My surname is Ye.

My name is Xiaotian.

I am the first place zhuangyuan.

I am the marshal of the armed forces.

Ever since I met your granddaughter, Miss Yingying,

it was love at first sight.

I'm glad to hear Miss Yingying is just of marriageable age,

and is not yet married.

Thus I took the liberty of coming here

to ask for her hand in marriage.

It would be my utmost honor.

Your words

were quite nice.

Look at yourself.

Do you think you are Ge Long?

You are like a big ape.

I really can't count on you two.

Say, Xiaotian ge is already back in Huxian.

Why hasn't he come to visit me yet?

I'm bored out of my mind.

Good one.

Applaud!

Good.

Dage, you're back.

Xiaotian ge.

Stop eating.

If you grow any fatter,

you can all go be the Tongren's prefect.

Dage.

So you mean

if I become a bit fatter, I can be the prefect?

No.

I meant

the Tongren prefect being as fat as he is,

I once saw he needed two runners

to pull him out from his chair.

You won't have anyone to pull you out.

Dage.

To tell you the truth,

I haven't seen anyone

fatter than me.

But I want to move this shop

to Tongren.

I think that Huxian is too small.

Not much room to expand.

If I move to Tongren,

I can go see that legendary prefect.

Don't you think, dage?

Daheng!

Look at you. I just told you.

Are you OK?

I'm fine, dage.

We told you not to eat so much.

Oh right,

tomorrow, Xu Boyi will

gather the various tribe leaders

and hold a big ceremony.

I asked you to contact

the two village chiefs' sons.

How did it go?

Don't worry, dage.

Gao Ya and Li Bohao

will be fully on your side.

But the head of the villages

are the Gao and Li village chiefs.

With their position,

they will have much more to consider than just themselves.

But their villages' interest are their priority.

Dage.

What benefit can that Xu possibly offer them?

You are their savior.

They will definitely be on your side.

Anyway, they said

they'll help you.

Don't forget.

Who helped you channel

water for your village?

And you.

Who gave you all that porn?

Me!

So,

you have to watch that thing!

Don't blow it.

Did you hear?

I asked you a question.

You!

Watch it.

I know.

What's with this attitude?

You...

Luo Daheng.

When did you become so talkative?

Telling me once is enough.

I don't need you to tell me time and again.

Of course I trust you two.

But I kinda don't trust...

What are you trying to say?

You don't trust my dad?

Listen.

If I were you,

I wouldn't just stand here.

I would go over there to your dads.

What are you doing?

I know already.

I know. I know.

Don't blow this.

You just can't shut up.

Lord Envoy.

Please.

Everyone.

A wiseman once said:

kindly words do not enter so deeply into men as a reputation for kindness.

Good government does not lay hold of the people so much as good instructions.

Good government

is feared by the people,

while good instructions

are loved by them.

The wiseman means,

you can't be an official with just your power.

You must educate your people too.

Today's grand ceremony of the change of customs reflects the country's concept of government.

Everyone shall comply

with the emperor's orders.

Let your people and neighbors know about this change of customs.

Let everyone hear

and everyone know.

Thus, this policy may

be implemented successfully.

He's still talking.

My Lord.

A baggage train of army supply that was sent out this morning

was plundered by bandits.

I'm only in charge of the road repair.

Dealing with the plundering of army supply is not my responsibility.

My Lord.

The army supply was robed within our county's boundaries.

It doesn't concern the post road, but it concerns our county's public security.

Ever since the bandits of "One Dragon"

were wiped out,

there have only been stray thieves in our county,

there are no gangs of bandits.

How could a military vehicle be plundered?

My Lord.

The leader of "One Dragon" was killed,

his underlings were nothing to be feared,

but lately, there has been a steady flow of army supply transports frequenting the post road,

It has attracted many bandits.

The underlings of "One Dragon" merged with other bandits.

They've become quite strong,

It seems they have resurged their power.

We need to discuss this matter further before taking action.

Go sort it out for now.

I need to stay with the envoy.

My Lord. My Lord.

The soldiers who were guarding the army supply

are shirking their responsibility and blaming us.

When the Jinyiwei official arrived,

he was also making excuses for his subordinates.

I really can't manage the situation.

All right.

I will go ask the envoy for a leave of absence.

My Lord.

Do you need me to come with you?

No need. No need.

Stay here with the envoy.

This is important.

Envoys,

an issue

has come up at the post road.

I need to go take care of it.

The war in the South is a pressing matter.

Great amounts of army supplies are passing our borders.

I really can not cause any delay.

Please excuse me, my Lords.

The post road concerns the war situation.

It is of course important.

But the change of custom concerns the people.

Is that not of any importance?

Besides,

the two envoys are here,

how can you as the county magistrate

abandon and neglect them?

Assistant Magistrate Xu is right.

Lord Guan and I traveled here from the capital

to hold this grand change-of-custom ceremony.

It shows how important the emperor and the imperial court views this matter.

But if you, the leading official of the county, are absent....

That would be very inappropriate.

To tell you the truth,

a group of bandits

are causing trouble,

they robbed the army supplies.

I can not ignore this matter.

Please excuse me, my Lords.

It concerns public security?

So this would be Sheriff Ye's responsibility.

You should just let Sheriff Ye take care of it.

As the old saying goes: If one only does things oneself, one can not employ the able ones,

if one can not employ the able ones, many of the able ones will disperse and leave.

We can't do everything ourselves now can we?

My Lord.

Though Xu Boyi

is quite capable,

but judging by his petty-mindedness,

he can't be entrusted with an important post.

Since this concerns the military supplies

it indeed can't be ignored.

Magistrate Hua.

You may go.

Thank you, my Lord.

I will leave this place to you.

OK.

Let's go.

The game is as good as won.

Even if you stay here,

what will you be able to do?

Everyone. Everyone.

It's been three years since our county was founded.

But matters concerning the household registration

is a chaos.

We officials are guilty of neglecting our duty.

But there are other reasons also.

For example,

the people's names of the various tribes

are random and unregulated.

This is one of the biggest issues.

Registrar Wang.

Is he saying that the performance of the household registration under your management is lacking?

Trees are cultivated by men,

men are cultivated by themselves.

Xu Boyi hasn't even gained much power yet.

But he is already this supercilious.

He should mind his personal virtue.

Doesn't he fear he may fall from his pedestal?

When he does, no one will help him.

Let him fall and break his neck!

You are quite right.

The name is yours,

but the ones who use it

are the others.

Having a good and catchy name

will help others remember you easier.

What's more,

the surnames of father and son

should be the same.

That way,

you will also remember your ancestors,

and your descendants will remember you.

The name of a person,

is like the shadow of a tree.

Isn't that the point for having a name?

He has a point.

In the matter of the changing of the name,

the Gao and Li families have given us a strong response.

They have done a good job.

Now, let me invite

the Gao and Li village chiefs

who are also the villages' elders

to step forward as their people's representatives

and change their names.

Er...

My Lords.

Assistant Magistrate Xu.

About the changing of names....

I don't think

we can make a decision immediately.

Assistant Magistrate Xu.

This matter is too rushed.

Could I and my people discuss this first

before we make a decision?

Chiefs.

Didn't you promise me only a few days ago

that you'll change your names?

Why are you going back on your words?

I was a little bit reckless.

I thought this matter

too simple.

So I promised you hastily.

But when I went back to my village,

my people strongly opposed to it.

Though I am the leader,

but my people have put their trust in me to handle affairs for them.

I can't very well make the decision myself.

Assistant Magistrate Xu. My reasons are the same as Chief Gao's.

This should have been a good thing benefiting everyone.

The government could exempt us of taxes even.

But these unruly people just wouldn't agree.

It's quite unbelievable.

You should shove your bullshit elsewhere.

Do you know

who the two men on the stage are?

One is the minister of the Ministry of Rites,

one is the emperor's uncle.

The emperor thinks highly of this matter.

Do you want to make him angry?

If the two chief won't say it,

I will!

Lord Envoys.

I am a single old man.

I have nothing to fear.

Our name was given to us by our parents.

How can we change it

just for a little profit?

I don't have much knowledge,

but I know

that filial piety is what's most important.

Even if it is the emperor,

he can't force the people to be unfilial!

Isn't it right?

Yes!

As we were taught,

we should put filial piety first.

It is the tradition of our empire

to govern with filial piety.

The emperor will not force the people to be unfilial.

But changing the name

is not unfilial.

On the contrary, It is great filial piety.

With the name change you can respect your ancestors

and be a good example to your children.

You have already promised and agreed to this.

The emperor also has sent imperial envoys here.

Regretting your decision now

would be deceiving the emperor.

My Lords.

You speak with reason.

But

you must gain our consent first, don't you?

As far as I know,

most people of our villages aren't willing to do this.

The leaders know this too.

It's just that they

dare not to say it.

That's right.

He is right.

Dare not to say it?

Why?

Like a tyrannical magistrate,

like a cruel governor.

Assistant Magistrate Xu.

He is a big figure who imposes his power on the people.

If he says yes,

no one dares to say no.

Even the magistrate

fears him.

The two village chiefs

are afraid to offend him

and fall victim to his revenge.

That is the reason why they agreed to him.

They wanted to wait

for you to come

to uphold justice for us!

Utter nonsense!

Uphold justice.

How dare you?

Xu Boyi.

How dare you turn this into such a joke?

You have caused the court to lose its face!

My Lords.

Altering customs and habits is an imperceptible process.

It can not be done in such a short time.

As local officials we mustn't seek quick and instant success.

Otherwise it will just be empty talk

which will become a joke.

Calm your anger, Guojiu.

I believe that Xu Boyi must have his reason.

Assistant Magistrate Xu,

How do you explain

this situation?

If you can't give us a reasonable explanation,

I will have you punished for deceiving the emperor.

My Lords.

This must be a misunderstanding.

I will explain it to you.

My Lords.

I would never do something this reckless.

I have investigated and checked the situation,

none of the villagers were opposed to the name changIng.

Really?

Then how do you explain this current situation?

You may not know, my Lords,

minor officials like me just want to serve the court.

But someone is plotting against me,

setting traps and trying to trip me up.

It is difficult for me to do my job.

This matter

must have been someone's evil plot.

How can this be?

Tell me what is going on?

We will help you.

My Lords.

If I point fingers at anyone

without evidence

it will be harmful for me and my colleagues.

As the saying goes,

a gentleman thinks highly of righteousness but a petty man thinks highly of benefit.

My Lords.

This concerns the honor of the imperial court.

Perhaps you could allow me

to discuss this with

the Gao and Li village chiefs first?

On the one hand, this is to ensure the ceremony can continue,

on the other side, if someone did plot against us

and told these two chiefs to disagree,

they'd be messing around with matters of the imperial court,

they will surely give themselves away.

Runners.

Assistant Magistrate Xu, this is a fallback plan I prepared.

I was thinking to use it as the icing on the cake,

but now, this should be of assistance to you.

I'm surprised to see this item in your possession.

Rest assured, my Lord.

I will make sure that the ceremony will continue on.

That would be the best.

But I have to warn you

if you fail and this matter is left unsettled,

someone will take the responsibility.

As for the punishment for deceiving the emperor,

I trust

that you know it very well.

I understand.

Alright, go.

Assistant Magistrate.

I'm standing by my words.

This concerns all of my village's people.

As their chief

I can not make the decision alone.

That's right.

We didn't realize

that so many people are against it.

I can't make this decision alone.

Sometimes

it just depends on whether you want to do it or not.

I know.

I trust

that you are telling the truth.

But more than that

I believe that with your prestige

you will be able to persuade your people.

They will listen to you.

This.

Do you know what it is?

[Imperial Edict]

Dad.

Is everything ok?

Go quickly.

Tell Lord Ye

that we are sorry.

Dad.

What is going on?

Dad.

We are indebted to Sheriff Ye.

We can't be ungrateful.

This isn't the right thing to do.

You know nothing.

I know what I'm doing.

My Lords.

I have persuaded the two village chiefs.

They are willing to change their names

and set an example for their people.

Good.

As long as this matter gets solved.

I will go prepare everything.

Slow down.

Assistant Magistrate Xu

Did you ask them about

who told them to go back on their words?

I did.

They looked quite embarrassed.

They weren't willing to say.

I think

the ceremony is our top priority right now.

We should focus on it.

After today

I'm sure they will

tell you everything.

My Lords.

There has been a misunderstanding between me

and the two village chiefs.

After talking to them just now,

their worries and concerns have been dispelled.

The two village chiefs agreed

to lead their people into this new policy

and to change their names.

Next up,

let us invite the Gao and Li village chiefs

to sign this policy in the name of their people.

it is a cyst

I took it out yesterday afternoon-night at satine and I have to go recovering it

you see there the wing that has it

I took a blade and a clamp and then I put an antibiotic ointment

human because I do not have betadine I have what to see if I bring from Spain 'or buy

something here similar and well I put the LEDs so that

see well and I think we're going to start with unboxing are products that do not

had never tasted before so I think that are going to be fine let's go to it good

colleagues before I start I think that here we see it well all tell you that

these products have been sent by the zoobio company

tell you that the company was contacted in the comments youtube told me we are interested

way of collaboration with you and nothing I contacted them and they told me

to choose product from your store I have taken the products sincerely

in the store there are no products for breeding for focused breeding there is no

or if there are three or four things and pastas breeding but things as we know other websites of

Spain there is no then I have chosen curious products that I have not seen in

Spain and that I had never tried so it is not are not products to focus on

breeding are products that I say we are going to take it to enjoy it to try it

to see how they are and things that were not had seen like for example this in millet

which is coated there you see it

these are flowers and this I'm going to open it since well open here

they are like coated with plants these products because I had not seen it in

Spain so I say let's try it how to experiment with them

I had never seen it

but as I say this focused on breeding of canaries as in my case, because

now we're just going to place the canaries the goldfinches

for the side of this order 3 here you see it

this time it is not finished well there

green

if you look closely this German comes from Germany

Well, what else do we have here? the first thing that there are fat balls here

it's here the packaging is german all the fat balls are identical as

we have them in Spain

of this I asked a few to have reserve and as you see

more fat balls are identical

I think that a little more dry than what do we have

or there's around here this makes me a lot curiosity

they are like dried balls blueberries are not whole blueberries are all fruits

wild

so let's try it

the wrapping is not well appreciated

They are dry but to the touch they are a little wet

they look like raisins

they will have to be approved, I do not know if they were to eat them

and leaving here

this is more for parrots but I saw it my son with plants I do not know what plants

they will be but I found them curious products that we can prove it

since I have been given this company opportunity then instead of catching

typical products he preferred to catch these products that are new that never

I had also tried it focused on gold parakeet and all these things but good

here I have picked another guy that is on the web is seemed better than

it seems that it came with flora and berries and they have some

but the majority is mijjo this will be good for me

chicks to start weaning well here that you see here you see since I

gave the opportunity to try the proto I wanted to know you already have the dog

dog

ask for things for the dog that does not have toys so

fix a German squirrel

But look

parrots a squirrel a squirrel gets crazy

with what he likes squirrels

it's over here

in the role of the squirrel

this I asked for some almond bars

they seemed curious we are going to open it

this is for wild birds is all focused for wild birds

but I do not know whether to try them here for the mine

and it leaves you quite fat in your hand fixes are almonds

but it has a coating that gives a little fat

and mine I see that they do not give results they will go to the street birds because

Now you will see that I have asked for more things for street birds

almond I guess it will be in German like that the two that you think is approaching say it

A) Yes as you see

I have also asked

this is seeds for birds wild because I have a surprise

for my mother who gave me the opportunity to ask for a cassette

are for wild birds a kilo and medium

and come oats, millet, pipe so I can appreciate

Cañamon comes they have enough seeds

so now we will put it now street birds

well here before we went on we did more fat balls

for mine and those of the street balls of fat that I have asked for is the invoice

what there is here I have bought it focused on an aviary to breeding

and as I told you a long time ago I wanted to try the sand

and well this is the arena to throw the funds of the cage masters to open it

by the big hole will be smaller

this is good to dispense, the good Well, not here, it only has one

opening here

this mark see laga of this the brand of mutavit and some products that

this brand if it is more famous trixie the trough and I to throw it here the

We put it in the garden we will fill it up we will put it out there

so nothing these are the products that has sent me the web page and or

I'm going to teach now

and as I say are products that I decided catch it depending on

not focused on breeding but focused on how to try new things

The truth is that this contributes quite well in the booth the ball

this with flowers the bars blueberries with cranberries and are blueberries

the sand for the funds the almond

millet with seed and well let's put the bars to the

canarios los jilgueros to see how reacts good fellow already know what

Predicted line-up : Liverpool vs Napoli & What must do the reach knockout stages EXPLAINED ● News - Duration: 6:24.

LIVERPOOL manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to recall Sadio Mané when the Reds take on

Napoli in their crunch Champions League clash with Napoli tonight (8pm).

Liverpool have been boosted by the return to fitness of Sadio Mané ahead of their final

Champions League group stage match against Napoli.

The Reds take on their Italian opponents at Anfield needing to win 1-0 or by two clear

goals in order to progress to the knockout stages.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will be pleased to have Senegalese winger Mané available once more

after suffering a nasty cut to his foot last week.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Klopp said: "Sadio can deal with the pain

obviously – it looked like that in Bournemouth, so that's cool.

"It's good enough that we can consider him at least.

"In the squad there is nothing really serious after the [Bournemouth] game, that's good."

Mané missed the 3-1 win over Burnley due to his injury but featured off the bench as

Liverpool ran riot against the Cherries at the weekend.

Mané is likely to come straight back into the Reds starting XI alongside Mohamed Salah,

who scored a hat-trick at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

However, Klopp has a decision to make regarding the Egyptian with the 4-0 win achieved by

playing Salah up front in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The German boss has preferred to utilise a more compact 4-3-3 in big games this season,

but such a shape would see Salah shunted out wide and Roberto Firmino deployed through

the middle.

Meanwhile, Klopp must also make a call over which of Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren will

partner Virgil van Dijk at centre-back.

Injury to Joe Gomez has ruled the 21-year-old out for six to nine months while Lovren has

also been sidelined with concussion in recent weeks.

Matip has been deputising ably in the pair's absence but Klopp may be tempted to reinstate

Lovren with the Croatian nearing a return to full fitness.

Elsewhere, Adam Lallana suffered a nasty cut to the head against Bournemouth but has no

lasting effects while Nathaniel Clyne is doubtful and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still out with

a serious knee problem.

Jordan Henderson is expected to return in central midfield while Fabinho, Georginio

Wijnaldum, James Milner and Naby Keita are also battling for a starting spot.

Finally, Trent Alexander-Arnold should come back in at right-back after being rested last

weekend.

Liverpool predicted line-up vs Napoli – Champions League

(4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum,

Milner; Salah, Mané, Firmino.

LIVERPOOL have it all to do against Napoli at Anfield tonight to progress to the knockout

stages of the Champions League.

The good news though is that Jurgen Klopp's men still have their destiny in their own

hands going into the final round of games in Group C.

The Reds suffered their third straight away defeat in the group last time out at Paris

Saint-Germain after having lost to Napoli and Red Star Belgrade previously.

Victory would have seen last year's losing finalists progress to the last 16 with a game

to spare, knocking the French giants out, but goals from Juan Bernat and Neymar were

enough to claim the three points for the home side.

And still no one in Group C is yet sure of their place in the knockout round, though

Red Star Belgrade have been eliminated after their 3-1 defeat to Napoli.

Next then, it's back to Anfield, where Liverpool will be confident of getting the job done

on their home patch.

Liverpool have not lost at home in European competition for over three years, a run of

18 games.

While some of those games have been in the Europa League as well as the Champions League,

the home side have won 13 of those matches.

In that time the likes of Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Roma and Manchester City,

have all tasted defeat.

But this time around, just winning may not be enough, with several different permutations

possible.

Basically, Liverpool must beat Napoli to have any chance of going through and victory by

more than one goal will ensure qualification.

Should PSG beat Red Star away, Klopp's men will need a 1-0 triumph or victory by two

goals or more to finish second behind the French side, but other win margins will not

be enough.

If the game in Belgrade is a draw, Liverpool will advance with any win as it would leave

them, PSG and Napoli all on nine points - with the English club finishing first on the three-way

head-to-head.

Red Star will take third place if they win and Liverpool lose.

Whatever happens, it is sure to be another one of those nights at Anfield, and the crowd

will once again try and be Liverpool's twelfth man.

Games against Olympiakos, Chelsea, Dortmund and Roma all spring to mind, but can Napoli

also be added to the long list of Anfield victims?

It won't be easy, that's for sure.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are the only team still not to have lost a game in Group C,

winning two and drawing three.

And with the likes of Lorenzo Insigne, Marek Hamsik and Dries Mertens all set to play,

you would not bet against them scoring at least a goal.

That, of course, would make life tough for the home side.

It remains to be seen whether the famous Anfield atmosphere will help them pull through.

2017-2018 F150 Whipple Cold Air Intake Raptor Review & Install - Duration: 10:24.

Hey, guys.

Adam here with americantrucks.com.

Today, we're taking a closer look at the Whipple Cold Air Intake available for the 2017 and

2018 Raptor.

Now, if you're the owner of that 2017 to '18 Raptor, first off, I'm extremely jealous.

And, second off, you might be looking to pull in a little bit more air than your factory

inlet will actually let you.

Now the factory cold air intake is a little bit more restrictive than some of the aftermarket

options, especially this Whipple one.

Whipple lets us know, with this added to your truck, not only can you expect a better breathing

engine, which in turn equates for more power, but you can actually expect up to 10 wheel

horsepower and 15 foot-pounds of torque, with a 132% airflow increase.

Those are seriously impressive numbers from a cold air intake.

That is all because of the wider, durable, heat-resistant roto-molded tubing along with

the upgraded heat shield and, of course, the extra-wide pleaded cold air intake filter.

Now, this filter, as you can see, is a lot wider than your factory option and a lot wider

than some of the other ones in the category.

It's also a washable and reusable filter so when it comes time for routine maintenance,

pop this thing off, give it a good cleaning, throw it right back on, and you're good to

go, good as new.

This one here is a cotton gauze made from extremely high-quality stuff, including a

diamond wire mesh covering the outside here to make sure it's filtering out all the particles

you don't want coming into the engine, but pulling in strictly that cold air that's gonna

make all that power.

Now, this thing here is gonna cost you right around 380 bucks, which is a really common

price tag among all the cold air intakes in the category.

Whipple is a very, very well-known brand.

You guys might have heard of them.

They make really cool superchargers and this cold air intake is gonna be a very welcome

addition to your Raptor.

When all is said and done, you can expect to have this done in about an hour, maybe

a little less if you have some experience with intakes.

This is one of the more easy installations you can do under the hood so I'm giving it

one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter.

Without further ado, I wanna show you guys how this process is done so let's get to it.

Tools used for this install are a flathead, ratchet, extension, 7-millimeter and 8-millimeter

deep socket.

All right, step number one here, to disconnect our factory cold air intake, our factory air

box, we're gonna go back here and disconnect this sensor harness.

Now I'm just gonna pinch and pull straight back.

All right, so the next thing we're gonna do is disconnect or loosen up all three of our

clamps here holding on our factory tubing.

We're gonna start on the one on the bottom.

Now the head of this clamp is kind of tucked into the engine bay so you wanna grab your

longest flathead that you have, put it right down here past all of our tubing, and loosen

this one up.

Once you have that loosened up, you can rotate that and unlock it.

All right, we're gonna do the same thing for the top two clamps.

I'm gonna switch from the flathead to a 7-millimeter socket and ratchet.

All right, now we're able to disconnect and remove our tubing.

All right, and just pop off your coolant hose from that attachment and you can set this

aside.

All right, next up, we can pop off the clips holding on our factory air box.

That lifts up, slides right out, and we can pop out that factory paper element filter.

We finally got our factory air box out of our Raptor and on the table next to our Whipple

cold air intake.

As you can see, a lot of similarities but a lot of big differences between the two kits.

One of the similarities being the general shape of the tubing here stays the same.

This one is gonna be a little bit wider from Whipple to allow for a bigger airflow.

This is also a heat-resistant injection roto-molded plastic so it does resist against that heat

a little bit better than your factory option.

The biggest difference between the two kits is gonna be your paper element filter versus

your new Whipple conical design on the filter.

Now, this is gonna pull in a lot more cold air than this could.

This isn't really designed to be as aerodynamic as your new filter here from Whipple, as you

can see by the different designs, as you can see by the different shapes.

Your Whipple filter is gonna filter a lot easier and a lot better than your factory

one so you'll see huge improvements there just by the breathing of the engine and how

much more this will pull in air-wise.

Now as you can see from the air box, this doesn't look like much, but as you have it

installed, your air filter will sit in, it seals against the inside of your hood and

seals out all that excess engine heat, strictly pulling in your cold air from the front by

utilizing the bottom portion of your factory air box.

Now, the way this sat in your Raptor, sat in the bottom portion with the air inlet coming

out toward the upper radiator shroud.

That pulls in a lot of cold air from the front end and we are still going to utilize that,

as you see by us leaving it in the vehicle.

There's a couple of things we have to transfer over, one of which being our sensor.

You're just gonna twist this and transfer it over to our new tubing.

Before we can actually put this in our tubing, however, we wanna install our rubber grommet.

So we're gonna do that and then we're gonna start to assemble our couplers and our clamps

onto our new tubing.

All right, installing our new grommet is gonna be pretty simple.

We're just gonna turn over our intake tubing, pinch the grommet, and press it into place.

That's gonna be the new spot that your sensor is gonna sit in.

So moving on over to the factory tubing again, to remove your sensor, you're gonna rotate

this, find the sweet spot, you can just pull it straight back and we're gonna transfer

that into our new hole that we just put in our rubber grommet.

Next up, we're gonna start assembling our couplers onto our new tubing from Whipple.

Now, these are very much side-specific.

You wanna make sure you're putting them on the correct side but, then again, they only

go on one way.

So we're gonna pop our coupler through our clamp and slide this onto our tubing.

Once you have it seated all the way down, you can grab either a flathead screwdriver

or an 8-millimeter socket and ratchet and tighten down that clamp.

First, we're gonna loosen that and seat that all the way down.

Now on the other end of that, you wanna make sure you're grabbing the smallest clamp in

the kit and putting that around the edge.

Now, you don't wanna tighten it down too much.

I just like to get it just a little bit snug, that leaves enough room for the edge of the

coupler to flex but still not quite fall off.

We're gonna install our secondary coupler.

Now, this is the same size on both sides so it's not gonna make a difference which one

you put on first.

So we're gonna put our clamp through and seat this all the way down.

Grab your socket and tighten it down.

Now that we have our couplers in place, I'm gonna install this in the vehicle so we're

gonna start at the air box and work our way down the tubing.

First step for our installation, we're gonna drop in our new Whipple heat shield.

Now that's just gonna hook on to the side of the factory lower air box.

And that's gonna seat just like this and we're not gonna bolt anything down just yet, what

we're gonna do is put in our new filter.

All right, now we're not actually gonna bolt this filter into anything.

We're just gonna seat this right inside the air box.

You wanna have this in beforehand because once we put the tubing in, it won't fit.

It won't be able to slide in.

So we wanna seat this in here and eventually, once we have that tubing lined up, we'll be

able to bolt it down like this.

So, for now, seat it just inside.

All right, next up, we can drop in our Whipple tubing.

We're gonna connect it to our factory components with our new couplers and then we're gonna

tighten down

the clamps.

Now we can rotate our clamps so that the head of the clamp that we're gonna tighten down

is facing upward and easy to access.

Grab your socket and tighten them down.

All right, now before we secure our air filter, you wanna put on this stripping.

Now the strip is gonna go right around the edge of our metal air box just to seal it

from any engine compartment heat that could seep through the crack here, that way you'll

have a nice snug fit between the tubing and the air shield.

So we're gonna start by flipping this sideways and feeding it up into the slot on the strip.

You might use a flathead screwdriver just to pry it up into the spot and you wanna work

your way all the way around.

All right, now we can pop our air filter on now that we have that trim in place.

You wanna make sure the air filter is on all sides seated all the way against the heat

shield.

Grab your socket and tighten down the clamp.

Now we can put on our weatherstripping all the way around the box.

This will seal it against the inside of the hood.

All right, now you can trim off the excess.

All right, to finish things off, let's plug in our sensor.

That's gonna wrap up our cold air intake from Whipple on our '17 to '18 Raptor.

So if you wanna get your Whipple cold air intake, you can do so for just under the $400

mark right here at americantrucks.com.

IQ Standing Desk + LeanRite Chair - REVIEW - Duration: 7:28.

what's up guys i'm ben from authentech, and there's one thing i'm doing 8 to 12

hours every single day 5 to 6 days every week that's sitting right there at my

desk editing researching making content for YouTube and my Instagram make sure

you following me there my old desk was nothing special simple and basic from

Ikea I've had it for years but then recently a couple guys reached out to me

for a standing desk opportunity and I just had a jump at it you don't have to

tell me the massive health benefits of a standing desk I've want to get one for

years and most people understand it nowadays just check this out all Apple

employees now get standing desks and Tim Cook has previously cited doctors who

say sitting is the new cancer that's pretty insane okay so a sit-stand desk

is important but I believe there's a second key component by simply standing

all day that could promote bad posture or increase muscle fatigue aches and

pains if done incorrectly so today I'm excited to show you guys at two products

that go hand in hand complementing each other very well first is a motorized sit

stand adjustable height desk from Becca L Kuzon nah I'll just call it the IQ

desk from here on out and the other is lean right from Peugeot impact a

standing desk chair that features many adjustable positions huge shot to both

those guys for sponsoring today's video I've been using the IQ sit-stand desk

and lean right for about two months now and I've learned quite a bit along the

way here's my review takeaways favorite features and a couple wishlist items I

found starting with setup and assembly first with the IQ desk they actually

have a helpful instructional guide video on their YouTube channel and my favorite

part there are zero tools needed this was fantastic

you basically slide in the legs rotate on 180 degrees to lock them in run a few

cables slide on the tabletop and that's the gist of it a few things I really

like it has a great height range adjustable from 25 and a half inches up

to almost 53 inches the legs and support system feel sturdy and even when the

desk is raised all the way up there's just a little wobble it's not too

I have thousands of dollars of gear up on my desk and the last thing I want to

do is place all that on a cheap flimsy dust that could topple over second

design is super clean and minimal which I love they offer a few different color

options on their site and I really like my white top with silver legs third the

motor and controller system they use is also top quality it's quiet and very

very smooth it also raises and lowers at a good efficient speed and I timed it it

takes me about 12 to 15 seconds to fully transition from fully sitting to

standing or vice versa forth there's a really nice cable

management built right in these two flaps open up and provide a nice channel

to run your cables through there's even a few convenient holes underneath as

well fifth they offer some cool software for your computer windows only for now

but I heard Mac OS is in the works you install their software on your computer

connect the IQ desk via USB and then from your computer you can save and use

personalize sitting and standing height preferences it can also advise you when

to sit or stand and how long to stay in each position it's very cool and I'd

love to see a bluetooth mobile app version in the future 6 a small but nice

touch I appreciate the vertical legs are pushed towards the back side leaving the

sides of the desk open additionally those horizontal feet are slim and thin

it's discreet and not in the way one wishlist item I found is the placement

for the up and down button now I totally understand that probably 95% of all you

out there will be centered directly in the middle of the desk so it wouldn't be

a problem for you however since I have sort of a weird dual monitor setup right

now that places me on the right side so my left elbow is directly on top of that

up/down button I accidentally hit it almost every day it's a little startling

and kind of annoying now they said the idea to place that button front top and

center is for that constant reminder for you to take a break sit or stand which

it definitely does however I've seen those other desks with buttons placed

underneath and off to the side and that'd be kind of nice

to have the alternative option if need be now moving on to lean right its main

ideas to give you a comfortable and healthy work posture throughout your day

assembly was quick and easy on this one as well took me just a few minutes to

screw it all together the lean right is fully adjustable that can support

multiple positions like sit perch lean stand Jonathan the inventor

of lean right has a helpful how-to video I'll give you all those links down below

he shows useful insights on all the different positions it can accomplish

here's just a few of the positions in full sitting your active posture helps

maintain lumbar curve keeping those knees below your hips an angled perch

position it helps focus your core muscles activates your back core core

your arm core in standing position you can still slightly lean with lumbar

support maintaining postural alignment and still offering freedom to move

around and stretch the seat can swivel 90 degrees and locks into three

different positions the stem can raise and lower extending from about 23 inches

up to forty six and a half inches you can start to see the versatility of this

chair the base has a large size cushy foot mat which decreases foot and limb

discomfort and the whole unit feels heavy-duty so it'd be hard to tip over

it takes just a little practice getting used to this whole sit stand thing in

the beginning I went gung-ho into it standing a ton throughout the day trying

out all the different standing lay inane perching positions and while I could

totally feel the difference in body flow and energy I found jumping straight into

the deep end could cause a bit of aches and pains my little snowflake body

wasn't used to it so after a little while I found more of a balance to it

all I can't jump right into standing all day you got to ease into it and to be

clear I still have not been able to convert full time into the lean right I

still need to continue to strengthen my body so right now I do a mixture between

sitting in my big cushy chair and then some leaning and purging and then

standing sprinkled in throughout the day one really cool side effect I learned

from standing and working let's say I'm reading an email or scrubbing through a

video edit or just watching some YouTube it's so much easier and more efficient

to accomplish a couple quick stretches or exercises while I'm still working

this was cool to see it's sort of obvious but when you're standing working

and using the lean right it sort of forces and helps you to use healthier

posture and another bonus ergo impact offers a free mobile app

Android or iPhone and it helps remind you to move around plus calories burned

recommended stretches and more so that's the IQ sit stand up motorized desk and

the lean right chair both promoting a much healthier way of working as always

all the links and pricing can be found down below and huge thanks to you guys

for watching and ringing that doubt until I see you next time let's live

authentic

🔴 What Is Beef Stroganoff? Beef Stroganoff Recipe || Glen & Friends Cooking - Duration: 12:33.

Welcome friends! I woke up this morning with a hankering for beef stroganoff and

the reason for that? It's kind of funny yesterday I was looking through some

photographs the Julie and I took on a trip through China in 2005. We spent six

months traveling across China by train and one of the cities that we stopped in

was a city called Harbin and Harbin is a city it's in China it's close

to the Russian border and it was actually built by the Russians as a

railway depot. So the old part of the city is completely Russian architecture.

And so by the 1950s though, most of the Russians had left. So now it's a completely

Chinese city with onion domes and everything else, and I'm gonna tell you

why that's significant in a moment. So in here I put salt and allspice and I'm

just going to put that over top of the meat. We're going to let that meat sort

of soak or marinade in that spicing and the salt, I should probably put a little

pepper in there too, while I prep the rest of the dish. So today's story is a

little bit about beef stroganoff as a recipe and a dish, and a little bit about

our trip to China. Give that a stir and set it aside. Now beef stroganoff is in

my mind the worst recipe ever. It's credited to be invented by a French chef

working in Siberia for a family called the stroganoff's.

It was first published in a Russian cookbook around 1870 and almost

immediately people said that's a crap recipe, that's horrible. I'm gonna put the

recipe in the description below so you can look at it, and the deal is here we

had a recipe that was horrible but it had a really cool name!

So almost immediately people started making up

new recipes that they called beef stroganoff. And pretty much today's

recipe, the recipe that everyone makes today, the only thing it has in common

with the original is the name and they have beef in them. And as we go along

I'll sort of point out where everything changes. Slice up the onions and

interestingly enough onions - not in the original recipe - they start showing up

you know 10 or 15 years later. Next up mushrooms. Mushrooms are closely tied to

this recipe, but not in the original recipe. Along the way mushrooms have been

added, you know in the 1950s people used cream of mushroom soup for just

about everything and I love cream of mushroom soup so I have no problem with that.

But today I'm going to use fresh mushrooms. So back to Julie and I and Harbin.

We're on this epic six-month journey by train, we end up in Harbin,

end of January, beginning of February, Harbin is close to Siberia it's like

minus 40ºC they're having their winter ice festival, I'll throw up some

pictures for you, and it was just amazing to be outside these giant ice sculptures

and the architecture was just incredible really incredible. So we end up in a

restaurant, and it's a Russian restaurant in a Chinese city in a building with an

onion dome really kind of cool.

Everything's written in Chinese or Cyrillic and at that point really what I

had learned along the way to you know to get us through Julie had learned

Mandarin she did really well with it, I could read certain words and I pointed

to the menu and said I'll have this one because I recognized beef. What

arrived was beef stroganoff. I've got to tell you up until that point in my life

that was the best beef stroganoff I had ever had!

No cream of mushroom soup there was no tomato in it, it was really clean and

pure tasting. It was just amazing, and I've tried ever since to kind of get

back to that moment. Another great thing is they served it with what were

essentially McDonald's french fries. Fantastic, fantastic over McDonald's

french fries. And a teapot filled with a bubbling boiling hot coca-cola and

there's an experience for you. So I'll finish cutting up these mushrooms and

we'll move on.

I've got this cast iron pan hot, we'll put in a splash of oil and we'll fry off the

beef.

I haven't really spoken about the beef yet I have no clue what they used in Harbin,

the original recipe is pretty vague and most recipes today just call for Chuck

or stewing beef. I see recipes that say to slice it thinly, I see some that

say to make it into little cubes there are even recipes where they call

for ground beef. And you know what? Because this recipe is a non recipe,

it's all fun and games it's all fair. I think you could do whatever you

want, as long as there's beef in it you can call it stroganoff.

That beef is done we're gonna pull it out and set it aside in this bowl while

we cook the rest. Built up a great fond in the bottom of that pan so in goes

some butter and we'll melt that off.

maybe turn the heat down just a tad.

in with that butter go the onions and the mushrooms.

The mushrooms and the onions have released all of their liquids at this point and

are starting to brown and I can get that that nutty mushroom Tang in my nose.

Which means it's time for the next step and that is white wine. Not in the

original recipe but white wine did start to show up maybe in the 1930s?

So did Madeira and port those were used, as you get into the 1950s people started

using red wine, and as you get into the 1960s it was brandy or cognac.

People would flambé it. I just don't get where that adds flavour.

You really want the acid from the wine to release all of the other umami

flavours going on here. So we'll reduce this by about 2/3 and then we'll move on.

I see you eye in that loaf of bread on the back counter. Not yet it's coming soon.

So this is thickened up nicely now, we're gonna add some flour, pour that in

and stir it in and just cook the flour you want to cook the flavour out. And this

is gonna help thicken the sauce in a moment.

Now some beef stock if you don't have homemade beef stock use chicken stock.

Chicken stock probably tastes better than then purchased beef stock that's my opinion.

Put that in turn the heat down now to sort of a medium low, and that

should thicken up nicely into a sauce. Now hot mustard hot mustard was one of

the ingredients in the original recipe and it's one that makes an appearance

every once in a while in modern day recipes. I'm gonna put it in because I

really like the flavour of hot mustard. I like what it brings to a dish, I like

what it releases in other flavours. I think it really adds something to this.

So stir that in what we've got here now is a sauce that

is is quite nice it's quite thick if you want it a little thinner add some more

beef stock you can adjust this to what you like. But first you should add the

next ingredient or the final ingredient and that's sour cream. Creme fraiche

would probably be ideal, but I didn't make any, it's something that's difficult to buy

here in the grocery stores. So sour cream. I really like this sour cream -

because it only has... where are the ingredients... only has three ingredients.

Milk, cream, bacteria. That's it. It is sour cream. There's there's nothing else in

here hiding the fact that they've left all the good stuff out. So a couple of

dollops of the sour cream, the original recipe calls for one tablespoon of sour

cream for twice as much meat as I'm making. Modern-day recipes are really

heavy on the sour cream so you know take from that what you will. And we put that

in we start to heat it through, stir it in. Now we put the beef back in and you

stir the beef in you coat it with the sauce and at this point we're not really

cooking the sauce. I've got it on a really low low simmer. I'm gonna put the

lid back on and we're just gonna let this heat through and flavour some of

that beef, and the beef can flavour the sauce a little bit more. Keep stirring.

J: All right looks pretty good. There are no noodles? G: So across the

world people will eat this on mashed potatoes, rice, french fries, noodles.

J: Noodles! G: Yeah and when you get into noodles you're getting into

sort of like there's a Hungarian dish that is very close to this. J: Okay. G: I think

my favourite though is french fries. J: what a lovely hearty

beef and potato kind of meal. Some very uh...

hearty cold weather kind of... yeah oh yeah warms your belly. G: So I mean since

this is the biggest non recipe recipe in the world. Do what you want with it.

As there's beef and sour cream.. J: you're good to go. is that the only rule?

G: pretty much I mean there there is nothing that is from the original recipe

really. J: in this? G: So there's from the original recipe yes yes so

from the original recipe I did use beef. I used beef, allspice, hot mustard, and

sour cream. okay but everything else is something that's people have put in

since so you can really play with this recipe.

Do what you want everyone's going to eat it over something different however you

serve it I think it's great. J: make it warm make it comforting, good to go.

J: I'm gonna have some bread with mine

2015-2019 Mustang GT Ford Performance Center Instrument Boost Gauge Kit Review & Install - Duration: 7:18.

Hey, guys.

Adam here with americanmuscle.com.

Today, we're taking a quick look at and installing the Ford Performance Center Instrument Performance

Pack Boost Gauge kit available for the 2015 and newer Mustang GT Performance Packs with

forced induction systems installed.

Now, if you're the owner of that S550 with a supercharger or a turbocharger, you might

be looking for a convenient way to track your boost PSI.

Now, that is a very crucial part of owning a forced induction system.

You want to know how much boost you're pushing at all times and this is a great way to keep

things OEM.

Otherwise, your options are to pick up additional boost gauges or pod pillars, which really

can be a nice touch to give you a nice aftermarket look.

But if you're interested in keeping things looking like it came off the with factory

line, this is your absolute best bet, hands down.

The really cool thing about this one here is you're retaining your oil pressure on the

left here with the addition of that logo, but you're also getting a boost PSI gauge

on the right in addition to the vacuum.

Now, one of the cool things about this that I really like is that it retains all factory

functionalities.

The lights all stay the same just as they did from the OEM look, but it also retains

all MyColor functionalities.

That is not something you'd be able to get with an aftermarket boost gauge that will

be separate on your dashboard or an A-pillar or something like that.

This retains all those OEM looks.

Now, this one runs just about 250 bucks which might sound high to some guys, but if you're

looking to just swap them out and get that same look you had with bigger functionalities

for your supercharger or turbo, that's the way to go.

The installation here takes about 30, maybe 45 minutes at the most here, absolutely one

out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter.

And if your car is fresh off the factory line, if you've never taken off those plastic trim

pieces, you might need an internal trim removal tool, very simple stuff you can get a local

auto parts stores.

Even with that in mind, still gets one out of three wrenches.

Now, with our car here, it was very simple to take off without that tool, so I'll be

showing you guys that method.

With that in mind, the only other thing you would need is A T20 Torx bit and a ratchet.

I'm going to show you guys the entire process from start to finish.

So, let's get to it.

Tools needed for this install will be a ratchet and a T20 Torx bit and it is recommended to

have a trim removal tool.

All right.

Now, kicking of this install, we're going to start our passenger's side, so you want

to get in your passenger side seating, and we're going to remove this piece of trim right

by your kick panel.

Once that comes off, it'll allow for your entire dashboard trim to come off.

It's really just two pieces, no specialty required.

Now, your directions will say a trim removal tool will help, I find it easy that you don't

even really need one.

Now, if yours is brand new and you've never taken this off before, having that trim tool

might be useful for you if it's getting a little difficult, but by hand, it shouldn't

be that much of a problem.

So, what we're going to do is start here with this piece of trim, I'm gonna pry up on the

top here, and it'll release a clip.

Come back down on the bottom, release another clip, and from there, you'll see it starts

to peel off.

So, really, it's these white clips that snap into place inside those trim panels.

So, once we have this done, we can set that on the floor.

We're gonna do the same thing to this corner, peel off, and it snaps clips all along the

side, pops them right off.

Now that this side's good, right here and it releases.

The same thing on the inside of here, it's lined with yellow clips.

Now, I know it's tough to see, but this wire coming out of the dashboard connects to your

factory gauges here.

It's one pinch and you unplug it.

That clip's coming off right in the center of the factory gauges.

As you can see, just pinch the bottom, pull it straight back, and you're good.

Now, we're going to take this whole factory trim panel over to the table and transfer

over to our new Ford Performance Boost Gauges.

Taking a look at the differences between our Ford Performance Boost Gauge cluster kit versus

the actual factory one, there isn't a ton of differences.

Obviously, there is a functionality difference between actually tracking your boost PSI.

But from the factory, you're actually looking a lot like the OEM gauges here.

As you can see those OEM gauges do feature those white and black striped lines at the

bottom and top of each gauge, the difference being our new one is going to have a vacuum

boost on the right and that same oil pressure PSI gauge on the left.

Now, one thing that I do think is cool is the oil pressure gauge stays the same 100%

functionality-wise, but when it comes to the actual visuals, you're now getting that oil

pressure logo embedded right into the materials there.

So, that is a really cool feature that adds to, you know, the aesthetic aspect of your

gauge look.

Now, when it comes to the vacuum and boost gauge, as you can see, there's definitely

a big difference in what it tracks, going from 30 to 0 back to 30 for your boost, whereas,

your factory one goes from 25 to 0 from left to right.

Installing this is very, very simple stuff, we're going to flip this around and we're

just going to be removing this white trim, completely identical.

So, the installation is going to be exactly the same as the way we take this off.

I'm going to use here a T20 Torx bit, and we're going to remove two screws from the

top, two from the bottom, pop it off, use those factory hardware to get our Ford Performance

option in place.

So, let's get them off.

With all four of those removed, we can swap out our old one, put our new one right into

that location.

We just want to get them nice and hand-tight.

You don't want to over torque these.

As you can see, I'm not even using the ratchet, I'm just using a Torx bit by hand because

that's how little pressure you want to put on these tiny Torx bit screws.

All right.

From here, we can take this whole thing back into the car and repeat that installation

process in the reverse order.

All right.

So, the first thing we're going to do for the reinstallation here is plug in our connector.

Now, the factory connector is going to go right into that factory location here on our

new gauge cluster.

Once you have that snapped in place, feed this up into the dashboard, and snap it on

starting from the driver side gauge cluster through the middle back to the outside.

Once that's secured in place, you can grab your kick panel trim, install it right on

the bottom here.

You'll hear that snap into place.

Now, you're good to go.

That's gonna wrap up my review and install of the Ford Performance Center Instrument

Performance Pack Boost Gauge cluster kit available for the '15 to '18 Mustang GTs with the Performance

Pack and a forced induction system installed.

So, you can pick your kit up right here at americamuscle.com.

How to Stick to a Routine – 3 Tips on How to Form New (Good) Habits - Duration: 6:21.

How to stick to a routine – 3 tips on how to form new (good) habits

I love routine.

It is something that comes easy to me.

I can eat the same thing every day for weeks on end and it doesn't really bother me.

I like to wear the same four things from my closet over and over because they are comfortable

and I like the way they look.

(As you've probably noticed in most of my videos I wear the same clothes.

Not because I don't have others, I just like these ones the best.

It's part of my routine.

So when someone asks, how do you stick to a routine?

How do you form good habits so you can change your life for the better?

I took a look at what I do in my life and I noticed a pattern of things that I do.

I'm going to share those with you so that you will know exactly how to stick to a routine too.

Tip number one.

I decide.

You might be thinking, well duh.

Of course you have to decide.

Why would you even list that?

Because there is a big difference between saying you want to do something and actually

deciding you are going to do it.

For example let's say you want to lose 20 pounds.

Just saying you want to doesn't mean you will stick to any sort of diet/exercise plan.

But when you decide you will lose 20 pounds, you will have clarity and drive and even when

things get tough and you have a rough day, you don't let it throw you off the entire

course and give up.

A study by University of Scranton found that one week into the new year 25% of people have

already stopped trying.

One week!

They gave it 7 days and then they are like, eh I'm done.

And after another month that number dropped to

more than 50%.

They want it but they don't actually decide on it.

Don't be that 50% of people who drop off.

Make a clear decision and stick with it.

Tip number two.

Write down your why.

Be specific about the details.

My daughter is a dancer.

She has been taking ballet since she was 31/2 but she never had been able to get her middle

splits when she was younger.

If you know anything about dance the middle splits are harder because you have to have

really good hip range of motion and we had always been told that if you don't get them

by the time you stop growing you'll never get them.

So for a few years she was resigned to this "fact" that she'd never get her middle

splits, because she didn't get them before she stopped growing. But one day she was literally like, you know what I don't believe that any more and I'm going to get

my middle splits.

She's 17 now.

She still dances every day and she figured out her why.

Ii know that if I do my jumps are going to be higher. My kicks are going to be stronger and higher

and my dancing is going to be more beautiful. So she decided.

I'm going to work really hard. This is what I want. This is my why. And I know that i will be a better dancing by gaining my middle splits.

She saw herself achieve it. She wrote it down. She got to work.

She stretched more often. She strengthened the surrounding muscles including her hip flexors.

She did what her teachers and coaches told her to do and she now has her middle splits!

She was specific about the details, she wrote it down and didn't give up.

Comment below and let me know what your why is.

Tip number three.

When the going gets tough…get a mentor.

It's hard to form new habits.

If it was easy everyone would do it.

But if you have someone who you can emulate you are more likely to stick with your routine

even when the going gets tough.

A mentor of mine drove in this idea by saying, "Take it day by day.

Nobody wins if you quit."

Some days will be easier than others to stick with your routine but if you quit – that's

not helping anyone, especially not you.

Think about where you'll be if you quit.

Think about where you'll be a year from now if you stop working to form the habit

that you want.

If you stop working out or eating healthy.

Where will you be?

Who does it help if you quit?

Now think about where you'll be in one year if you stick with it one more day.

One more week.

What will you look like?

How will you feel?

See it, feel into the emotion of it and push through.

If you're looking for a mindset group where you are supported in changing your life and

sticking to a routine you may want to consider joining my private Facebook badass self-improvement

Decide, figure out your why and get a mentor.
