Youtube daily report Mar 20 2018

While some famous people are pretty guarded about their abodes, there's a lot to be learned

from real estate listings, the backgrounds of Instagram photos, and the occasional home

tour offered to Vogue.

Here's a rundown of celebrities homes, all of which are just as glamorous as you'd imagine.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Actress and head GOOPer Gwyneth Paltrow's New York City apartment, which sold for $10

million in July 2017, has a swing made from an antique Indian door in the living room

and a bed so big she had to have custom sheets made for it.

GOOP posted a home tour so you can see the modern all-white kitchen and the English all-white

foyer up close.

Reese Witherspoon

Actress Reese Witherspoon did one of those awkward, fascinating videos for Vogue where

she answers 73 questions while giving a tour of her home.

"What's the coolest thing about being a mom?"

"You get to eat fun things like chicken fingers!"

Her LA house is stylish, tasteful, and has a ground-level outdoor trampoline!

She has a classic, homey dining room and a huge built-in bookshelf with quirky art mounted

on it.

It kind of looks like one of those elegant homes that a Nancy Meyers rom-com movie character

might live in.

Maybe one played by Reese Witherspoon?

Kylie Jenner

Reality show megastar Kylie Jenner went through three small "starter" homes, including this

stunner, before settling on her current place, a $12 million mansion.

It has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, which is a generous 1.375 bathrooms per bedroom.

While her mansion was being renovated, she stayed at another awesome place.

TMZ reported that she rented a cliffside Beverly Hills mansion for $125,000 a month.

You know it's fancy because it has a front yard pool, a home theater, and a putting green

in the backyard.

Swanky!

George Clooney

Actor George Clooney doesn't summer in the Hamptons or Ibiza or somewhere obvious.

He's George Clooney!

So he spends the warmer months in Italy in the Lake Como villa that he bought for $10

million from the Heinz family in 2002.

You know the 18th-century home is classy because it even has its own name: Villa Oleandra.

Clooney and wife Amal spend a lot of time in this 22-room home in the small Italian

village.

Their newborn twins even made their first public appearance on their way there while

the family deboarded a private jet in Milan.

Paris Hilton

When you walk into Paris Hilton's home, you see a picture of her, then another one, then

another one.

Her mansion, which was featured in the movie The Bling Ring, features tons of huge portraits

of herself as well as framed selfies.

All of this was on display when she gave W a tour of her home in 2017.

Outside, there's a pool and a two-story replica dog mansion for her five pups.

Mindy Kaling

Kaling's real life style is similar to that of her Mindy Project character — bright

colors, interesting prints, and stuff that looks so well-made you know it costs a lot

of money.

Her new home in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, which she recently shared

with Architectural Digest, stays true to this unique, fun look.

Kaling hired interior designer Katie Ridder to fill her home with beautiful details and

interesting patterns.

She wrote on Instagram that the study is her favorite room.

"It was really the one place in the house where I just had to see it to really fully

understand it."

Will Stress Really Make You Go Gray? - Duration: 3:06.

[♪INTRO]

We've all seen those comparison photos.

Some president starts out with a full head of dark hair, and a few years later they're

totally gray.

But stress doesn't really turn your hair white.

At least, not the hair already on your head.

It can help reveal gray hairs, though, by increasing turnover.

And scientists think it might just speed up the graying process a little, too.

Each hair gets its color from melanin, a pigment made by specialized cells called melanocytes

in hair follicles.

You can have gray or white hairs because the hair itself, which is mostly a colorless protein

called keratin is manufactured by different specialized cells in the follicle, which are called keratinocytes.

And they tend to live longer than the pigment-producing ones.

So hairs can keep growing, shedding, and growing anew, even if those little pigment factories

have stopped production.

How long your melanocytes last—and therefore when you "go gray"—is mostly determined

by your genetics.

But your head doesn't turn white the second some of those cells die.

Since the follicles can't alter hair that's already grown, gray hairs don't start to

show until the old, colorful hair has fallen out, which usually happens every few years.

But, if something makes your hair fall out faster—like, I don't know, being massively

stressed out—then it might seem like you're suddenly graying.

Chronic stress is known to trigger telogen effluvium, a condition where the hair follicle

jumps ahead to the final stages of its life cycle and the hair attached to it falls out.

So instead of lasting years, hairs can fall out within a few months of a stressful event.

The new hair starts growing again right away, so it doesn't cause baldness.

And it doesn't affect melanocytes, so for young people, the hair that falls out grows

back its normal color.

But if you happen to be at an age where the next hairs in line would be gray anyway, it

can speed up that turnover.

It's not that the stress turned you gray—it just bumped your gray hairs to the front of the line.

That said, there is some research that suggests stress might make you go gray sooner.

That's because stress can increase levels of free radicals — atoms or molecules that

have an unpaired electron, which makes them unstable and very reactive.

They basically try to steal an electron from anything they run into, which messes with

key components of cells.

A 2006 study found that too many free radicals can prematurely age cells because of their

toxic effects on DNA, or even kill the cells outright—and that includes melanocytes.

Other things known to increase free radicals in your body, like smoking, also happen to

be associated with premature graying.

But so far, no one has conducted a controlled experiment to conclusively demonstrate the

connection between stress, free radicals, and the sudden appearance of gray hairs.

So stress might make you go gray.

Or it might just reveal how gray your hair already is.

Thanks for asking, and a special thanks to President of Space Matthew Brant!

burning questions about the universe.

Media & the Mind: Crash Course Media Literacy #4 - Duration: 9:14.

Picture this. You sit down in front of a new movie.

Or you turn on the radio in the car.

What is your brain doing?

Well, a lot of things, hopefully.

But your brain is also working to make sense of whatever media you encounter.

A flicker of pattern recognition and you realize this new movie has a reference to Citizen Kane.

A stab of memory, and you're singing the hook of that song.

All. Day. Long.

For every conscious reaction and response you have to media, your brain is also subconsciously reacting and responding.

Our brains do plenty of things automatically.

They tell our lungs to breathe and our heart to beat.

And while a lot of these automatic functions are pretty great, there are a few that aren't. – especially when it comes to media.

So today we look at how our minds react to media.

You wanna be media literate?

Well here's a list of the worst impulses inside your brain that you're going to have to overcome.

This is your brain on media.

[Theme Song]

When was the last time you thought about tying your shoes?

Like, really had to think about it?

Maybe not since you learned how, right?

That's because your brain has automated the process.

It's muscle memory.

Our brains are pretty good at automating routine stuff.

They do this to reduce the cognitive load, or the amount of time and attention needed to finish a task.

Imagine your brain is like a computer – it only has so much RAM to use at any moment.

To make the best use of that processing power, the brain relies on schema.

A schema is a thought pattern, a way the brain understands a task, the desired outcomes of that task, and the strategy for getting there.

If you have a routine, any routine, you have a schema to work through it.

What about news gathering?

Maybe before you even open your eyes in the morning you reach for your phone to scroll through the latest headlines on Twitter.

Or maybe you turn the TV on while you cook and listen to the news.

Or maybe you just hope someone will have a copy of today's paper on the bus so you can read it when they're done.

With any news habit, your brain is not only automating you picking up your phone in the morning or turning on the TV.

It's also automating how you make sense of information in that app or article.

All that efficiency in our brains, which is ideal for brushing your teeth or opening a door, is not ideal for parsing through complex or new information.

Our brains are basically designed to take shortcuts.

And shortcuts are bad for business when we're trying to do the hard work of navigating the media landscape.

So are there other parts of the brain that protect us from this?

Whoo-boy, it's not even close.

Bad news my friends: It's exactly the opposite.

The human brain is a mysterious thing.

We can remember what we did one day 12 years ago, but not remember what we had for breakfast.

We'll recall ungodly amounts of song lyrics but can never remember what that one actor's name is. (It's Bill Paxton)

We'll be totally exhausted, but when our head hits the pillow, suddenly we want to recap every embarrassing thing we've done since second grade.

But for all its wacky inconsistencies, one thing the brain does really well is complete a picture.

When we're talking about visual perception – you see a bunch of dots in the shape of a panda, and you think "panda" – that's called the Law of Closure.

As we move through the media environment, we're constantly trying to form this type of closure.

And our brains don't do this objectively.

Each time we take a bit of info and complete the picture, we're using prior life experiences and knowledge.

So, for instance, when you read a headline like "DiCaprio and Winslet recreate epic scene from Titanic," you'd use prior knowledge to fill in the gaps.

You know Frank DiCaprio and Maggie Winslet didn't star in that film, so it must be referencing Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

It's like the brain's version of when Google knows you're searching for "how to know your cat loves you" just from the letter H.

No? Is that...is that just me?

This inherent desire to connect the dots, to see the whole instead of its parts – is exactly what makes humans vulnerable to misinformation.

Consider another unhelpful brain reflex: false memory.

Sometimes when we can't exactly recall the details of an event, our brain will just fill in the blanks with something plausible.

For instance, say you witnessed a robbery.

The police show up and ask you, "What color shirt was the robber wearing?"

It happened so fast you think, huh I'm not quite sure.

And another witness says, "I think it was purple."

And suddenly maybe you remember the robber was wearing a purple shirt.

It's not that you are trying to lie.

It's more like your brain thinks, "yeah, that sounds about right," and the line between memory and imagination is just too thin to notice.

The trouble with a false memory, especially when it comes to misinformation and "fake news," is it's much easier to create a memory than it is to change one.

So when a Facebook page built to spread fake news sends a lie out into the world, readers are more likely to remember that lie than to update their memory of it later.

Even when they have the right info.

Another time-saver the brain uses is hunting for information we already believe to be true.

This is called confirmation bias, and it's a huge problem.

Let's jump into the Thought Bubble to check it out.

Each and every one of us wakes up in the morning biased.

Biased toward early mornings or late nights, biased towards conservatism or liberalism,

biased towards reading news or watching it on TV.

Our life's worth of experiences shape us to prefer, understand, and believe certain things.

When we're confronted with an avalanche of information, which is difficult to wade through, we seek out things we already prefer, understand, and believe.

It's just easier, cognitively and emotionally, to only deal with things we already like.

This means that if we're presented with a message that aligns with or confirms our biases, we're extra likely to believe it.

On the other hand, if that message opposes our biases, we're extra likely to think it's false.

It also means that if you and I both experience the same media, we could take away completely different meanings.

Take this Washington Post article from October 2017, for example.

"Clinton campaign, DNC paid for research that led to Russia dossier"

It says that Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid for research into Donald Trump's campaign.

This dossier was very controversial when it was revealed in 2016.

Many Clinton supporters and liberal Americans believed the dossier was proof of Trump's collusion with a foreign power.

Many Trump supporters and conservative Americans believed it was proof that the Democratic party was trying to take down the Republican candidate.

Now, if you already have a Democratic bias you might think, "Wow, the dossier must have been legit.

Why would the Democratic party spend time and money on a phony story?"

And If you have a Republican bias, you could conclude the opposite:

"Wow, the dossier must have been phony the whole time, if it was financed by the Democratic party."

This means that a piece of information can do the same thing for different people: communicate, simply, what you already believe is true is true.

Thanks, Thought Bubble.

Social media presents an extra obstacle: most platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, are built to reward confirmation bias.

Those companies want you in their apps as long as possible, so their algorithms are tuned to keep showing you stuff you like.

Which would be fine, if 38% of U.S. adults didn't rely on them for news.

Which brings us to another brain time-saver: information satisficing – a bizarre combo of "satisfying" and "sufficing."

Sometimes when we're busy or not really that concerned with hunting down the right answer, we'll accept whatever answer's laid out in front of us.

Say, your second-favorite celeb couple breaks up.

They won't talk to the press about it, but a tabloid at the grocery store says he cheated with the nanny. Scandalous!

You think that sounds plausible, and since this info isn't life-or-death important, this answer suffices.

Searching through old interviews to look for clues of a slowly dissolving romance –

we've all got things to do, like figure out whether our cat loves us.

Age-old tabloid tales like cheating with the nanny prey on another aspect of our brain's desire to complete the picture.

We love stories. Really, we love stories.

If it's simple, easy to understand, and fills in the gaps for us, we are ready to believe.

But the human instinct for storytelling is straight up dangerous to media literacy.

Stories are sense-making tools; they help us understand the world around us.

So when something is complex or difficult to understand and the media turns it into a familiar narrative for us, we welcome it with wide, open arms – even if it's false.

To sum up, your brain on media is prone to taking shortcuts and filling in the blanks of a story whenever, and however, it can.

What's worse, publishers, advertisers, and tech companies know all of these tricks, too!

They use them against us all the time to hold (or steal) our attention.

If you've absolutely never fallen prey to fake news or some other kind of misinformation – well congratulations.

But for the rest of us, it's not always easy to spot our brain's thought patterns at work, let alone break them.

That's where strong critical thinking skills come in, and the shared responsibility of doing this work together, as a society.

The more we acknowledge our biases and thought patterns, the better we get at smashing through them to find the truth.

We'll continue that hard work together on the next episode of Crash Course: Media Literacy.

Scenes That Nearly Pushed Actors To Quit - Duration: 9:30.

The idea of fame can be appealing, but there's a lot of hard work that goes on behind the

glitz and glamour, as actors are often pushed to their limits both physically and mentally.

What does it take to get an actor to quit?

Here are some time when actors thought about cutting out on their plum movie or TV roles

because they just couldn't take it anymore.

Three walkers and a baby

Considering how many characters suffered tragic on-screen endings, The Walking Dead nearly

lost one of its lead actors for reasons that had nothing to do with zombies.

"Look at all this blood, I don't even think you're fully dilated yet!

No amount of pushing's going to help!"

"I know what it means.

I'm not losing my baby.

You've got to cut me open."

Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie, considered quitting when it came time to shooting this

one particularly stressful scene.

"I read the script where Maggie has to give the character Laurie a c-section."

"So I go two doors down and I knock on Steven's door and I said, 'I have to leave the show,

I don't I think can do it!"

Ultimately, it was that intensity that convinced her to stay.

Recognizing that The Walking Dead is a about people being pushed to extremes, Cohan used

her discomfort to deliver an honest and moving performance.

Gandalf goes solo

You shall not pass if you think Gandalf could have been played by anyone other than Sir

Ian McKellen.

The actor makes his mark as the memorable wizard in all six Lord of the Rings and The

Hobbit films.

However, director Peter Jackson almost had to find a replacement wizard during the filming

of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Since his character was considerably taller than the hobbits and dwarves, McKellen was

acting almost exclusively by himself or in front of a green screen.

The frustration of this solitude got to McKellen, who eventually broke down on set.

He said:

"It was so distressing and off-putting and difficult that I thought 'I don't want

to make this film if this is what I'm going to have to do'.

It's not what I do for a living.

I act with other people, I don't act on my own."

Jackson and his crew held a Gandalf Appreciation Day to take McKellen's mind off the stress,

decorating his tent with Lord of the Rings mementos.

Fortunately, this convinced McKellen to soldier on.

How the Grinch tortured Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey was only cast as the Grinch in Ron Howard's live-action How the Grinch Stole

Christmas after earning the approval of Dr. Seuss's widow, Audrey Geisel.

However, that grueling audition process was a walk in the park compared to the shooting

of the film.

"Literally the makeup was like being buried alive every day."

"How long did it take?"

"The first day was eight-and-a-half hours.

And I told Ron Howard I couldn't do the movie."

On top of prosthetics, makeup and a bodysuit, the Grinch's costume also included green,

round contact lenses, which were supposedly so painful that Carrey told producer Brian

Grazer he was going to give back his salary and leave the film.

"Now pucker up and kiss it, Whoville!"

Instead of letting Carrey quit, Grazer called in a friend who trained CIA operatives to

endure torture.

After his session with the military trainer, Carrey was able to finish filming the iconic

Christmas movie.

"It was horrifying, it was horrifying, it was just like, 'It's for the kids, it's for

the kids, it's for the kids.'"

Crying while pretty

As much as audiences hated Fox's first Fantastic Four movies, nobody hated them quite as much

as Jessica Alba.

Her experiences playing Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman, nearly made her quit acting altogether.

"Let's not fight."

"No… let's!"

Alba's frustration stemmed from director Tim Story, who she later claimed demanded that

she keep her facial expressions flat during a crying scene so she still looked pretty.

Alba said:

"He was like, 'Don't do that thing with your face.

Just make it flat.

We can CGI the tears in.'

And so I just said, 'F--k it.

I don't care about this business anymore.'"

After 2007's Rise of the Silver Surfer, Alba became much more selective about acting projects.

She has even branched out of Hollywood to co-found the Honest Company, an ethical brand

for babies and home goods.

The stress awakens

Acting in a Star Wars movie is an opportunity most actors would kill for.

But the pressures of starring in Star Wars: The Force Awakens proved nearly too much for

its breakout star, Daisy Ridley.

The British actress didn't have many credits under her belt before J.J. Abrams cast her

as Rey, and the director said that her performance felt wooden on the first day of filming.

Along with the pressure of starring in the largest franchise in film history, that note

gave Ridley a panic attack.

She told Elle UK:

"I honestly wanted to die.

I thought I was gonna cry, I couldn't breathe."

Fortunately, she pulled it together and delivered a memorable, heartwarming and epic performance.

The precarious rhapsody

One of the most iconic scenes in Wayne's World happens early on in the film.

Wayne and his friends pack into his car and rock out to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, headbanging

to their heart's content.

"For meeeee!"

But Paramount originally wanted to replace the song with something cheaper to license.

Mike Myers, who wrote the film and starred as Wayne, believed that the song was crucial,

and revealed on the podcast WTF with Marc Maron:

"And so I fought really, really hard for it!

And at one point I said to everybody, ' Well, I'm out.

I don't want to make this movie if it's not 'Bohemian Rhapsody'!'"

Fortunately for everyone, Paramount backed down.

Tippi Hedren's angry birds

Alfred Hitchcock's reputation for being unkind to actresses did not deter Tippi Hedren from

starring in his film The Birds.

In order to defend herself, Hedren made Hitchcock guarantee that she would be attacked only

by MECHANICAL birds during filming.

Hitchcock, however, wanted Hedren's terror to feel real, so he instructed crew members

to throw live birds at her.

When one bird pecked too close to Hedren's eye, she walked off the set.

Only after a doctor-mandated week off did she come back to finish the movie.

John Cena's fear of falling

12 Rounds, the WWE-produced direct-to-video thriller, featured some of the biggest names

in wrestling.

No name was bigger than that of wrestling icon John Cena who starred as a detective.

Despite his fearlessness inside the wrestling ring, Cena apparently is human like the rest

of us.

One scene that required him to rappel down a skyscraper and hang mid-air from a rope

caused some problems, as Cena admitted in a DVD extra that his fear of heights triggered

intense anxiety.

He even considered walking away from the film before shooting began.

Somehow, though, he managed to get through filming without incident.

Shelley Duvall up at bat

The Guinness World Record for most takes to film a single scene goes to The Shining.

A known perfectionist, director Stanley Kubrick insisted on 127 takes of Shelley Duvall's

character hysterically fighting off her deranged husband.

After around 100 takes, Duvall was exhausted and dehydrated from crying so much.

Kubrick's daughter Vivian was filming some behind the scenes footage when she found Duvall,

completely drained, lying on the floor between takes.

In a 2016 interview with Dr. Phil, Duvall said that the stress from shooting The Shining

made her hair fall out.

"Look at this!

I pulled my hair, pulled hunks of my hair out!"

Russia goes too far

Rocky Four features Rocky's opponent turned mentor, Apollo Creed, staging a comeback.

Played by former NFL linebacker Carl Weathers, Creed gets roughed up in the ring by Soviet

boxer Ivan Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren.

One of the boxing scenes got a little too real when Lundgren, according to Sylvester

Stallone, picked up and threw Weathers.

Stallone told fans at a Q&A session that Weathers left the ring and announced that he was quitting

the film.

Weathers ultimately came back, and Drago got his butt handed to him by Rocky, so it was

an all-around happy ending for everyone.

A slap to the face

Dark, claustrophobic sets and running water made filming James Cameron's sci-fi flick

The Abyss a challenge.

But one scene pushed actress Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio over the edge.

When her character was being given CPR by Ed Harris's character, Cameron directed Harris

to frantically slap Mastrantonio as she lay on the cold, wet floor.

"Fight, fight!

Right now!

Do it!

Fight, goddamnit!"

After filming a couple of takes, a crew member announced that the camera had run out of film,

and they would have to film the scene all over again.

Mastrantonio was so shattered that she walked off the set, leaving Ed Harris to slap a stand-in

sandbag until her return a few hours later.

Betrayal made her furious

During production on the first Fast and Furious movie, series regular Michelle Rodriguez actually

considered quitting the film.

She took issue with the way her character, Letty, was supposed to betray Vin Diesel's

Dom for Paul Walker's Brian.

Rodriguez saw her character as a strong woman who would prefer, in her words, "the alpha-est

of alpha males," so the betrayal made no sense to her.

Rodriguez recalls crying as she threatened to quit the movie if the plot wasn't changed,

saying:

"My whole point in being an actress is that I thought I got to live a dream.

And I don't dream about being a slut!"

Fortunately, the script was altered to Rodriguez's liking, and the rest is blockbuster history.

What's eating Johnny Depp?

In What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, Johnny Depp stars as Gilbert, a small town guy stuck caring

for his mother and developmentally disabled younger brother, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Depp had just split up with his fiancée, Winona Ryder, and was using alcohol to cope.

Director Lasse Hallström told Entertainment Weekly that the troubled family life of the

movie struck very close to home for Depp.

In particular, Depp had trouble filming a scene where he has to yell insults at his

mother.

Darlene Cates, who played Gilbert's mother, recalled that every night after filming those

scenes, Depp would call her to apologize.

She said:

"Here he is the professional; he's done all this stuff before.

But I thought, 'What a tribute to his kindness that he would take the time to consider that

I might be hurt by what he said.'"

Jake Gyllenhaal's digital nightmare

While filming Panic Room, director David Fincher told the New York Times that he felt he needed

to be more attentive with his actors.

He put that theory into motion on his next film, Zodiac.

Jake Gyllenhaal, who starred as cartoonist-turned-crime reporter, bore the brunt of Fincher's newfound

commitment to putting his actors through the ringer.

According to the New York Times, one scene took 70 takes to film, while another took

90.

It wasn't uncommon for Fincher.

"Particularly with David, he does lots of takes."

Since Zodiac was shot digitally, Fincher didn't have to worry about running out of film.

Gyllenhaal was pretty diplomatic, though, keeping things vague by simply explaining:

"...we would reshoot things."

Grow Your Own Potatoes! - Duration: 4:49.

Let me introduce you to one of my favorite foods: It's the wonderful, delicious, potato!

I love potatoes because they can be turned into so many different kinds of food.

You can make mashed potatoes, or potato soup, or even hash browns!

[Squeaks squeaks]

Oh, and potato chips are super tasty, too.

Squeaks and I love potatoes so much, we're going to grow our own.

We're starting by sprouting our own potatoes, and you can, too!

To try this experiment, you'll need a potato, a clear cup of water, and toothpicks.

First, let's take a look at our starter potato.

Most of the time when you're growing plants, you start out with a seed.

But potato plants start a bit differently.

They start as a sprout on another potato.

Like most potatoes, our starter potato is covered in small spots on the outside called

eyes.

[Squeaks squeaks]

Don't worry, they're not real eyeballs!

They're just called eyes because sometimes they can look like someone drew a tiny eye

on the potato.

When a potato is ready to grow into more potatoes, those eyes sprout, and new bits of potato,

called tubers, grow out of them.

We're going to get this potato ready to sprout by soaking it in water.

This will let the potato know that there's lots of water around to help it grow, so it'll

start sprouting new tubers from its eyes.

The first thing to do is wash your potato with some water, scrubbing it to get any dirt

or chemicals off.

Then, have a grown-up help you carefully stick the toothpicks into the top of the potato.

You'll want to put the toothpicks in so they're a little bit diagonal instead of straight

up.

Once the toothpicks are stuck in really well, you can lower the potato into the clear cup

with the toothpick side on top.

That way, most of the potato will be in the water, but there will still be some space

out of the water where the leafy part can start to grow.

You can always take the potato back out and rearrange the toothpicks if you need to.

[Squeaks squeaks]

Oh!

Squeaks thinks our potato is too far in the water and I agree!

You'll want it arranged so that just enough of the water covers the bottom of the potato,

including some of the eyes, but not the whole thing.

There.

Now these toothpicks look just right.

Ok, now that that's set up, it's time to find a good place for the potato to start

sprouting — somewhere that will feel a lot like being underground.

Where do you think we should put it, Squeaks?

[Squeaks squeaks]

Oh, I don't know if putting it under your blanket would work.

And it would be kind of hard to sleep, wouldn't it?

But you're right that it should be dark.

Plants eventually need light to keep growing, but for the first parts of their lives they're

underground where it's dark.

The temperature is also a little cool underground, so we're looking for somewhere dark and a

little less warm than the rest of the Fort.

How about a cabinet?

[Squeaks squeaks]

OK, let's put it in and let the potato get to work.

We'll check back every day to change the water if it gets cloudy and add more if we

need to.

Hi again!

It's been a couple of weeks, and our potato has started to sprout!

See the roots on the bottom?

Now it's time for my favorite part of this experiment.

[Squeaks squeaks]

No, silly, not eating the potatoes.

It's time to let our potatoes grow big and strong.

You can either place the cup with your sprouted potato in a nice, sunny windowsill, or you

can plant it in a pot with soil.

Now that the plant has sunlight, the tubers will slowly start to grow.

It'll need some water to drink, and to be kept nice and warm.

So if you're planting them in soil, it's better to do this in the spring.

After a week or so, you might start to more shoots starting to grow out of your potato!

Over time, the potato plant will grow bigger and taller, with more leaves.

If you keep it in water, the new tubers won't get big enough to eat, but the stems and leaves

on top will keep growing, and you might even see some flowers!

If you planted your potato in soil, the tubers will eventually grow into new potatoes that

you can eat.

After they've been growing for a few months, you can harvest the potatoes … and eat them!

You'll know they're ready after the stems and leaves above the ground wither and turn

completely brown.

That means the above-ground part of the plant is dead, but the potatoes below ground are

ready to eat!

There are lots of things you can do to help your potatoes grow better.

If you want, you can take a book out of the library or have a grown-up help you find a

good website to help you take the best care of them.

It can take up to five months for your potatoes to be ready, so you'll need a lot of patience

for this experiment!

[Squeaks squeaks]

I know, buddy!

I can't wait till ours are ready, either.

But we have plenty of fun things to do in the meantime!

Do you have a favorite food made out of potatoes, like french fries or mashed potatoes?

What other kinds of plants would you like to grow?

Have a grown-up help you leave a comment below, or send us an email at kids@scishow.com

We'll see you next time, here at the fort!

Judge Judy Gives Greedy Welfare Queen PERFECT Punishment After How She Spent Stolen Benefits. - Duration: 5:46.

Judge Judy Gives Greedy Welfare Queen PERFECT Punishment After How She Spent Stolen Benefits.

Taxpayers in America today have a big job.

Not only are we supporting the U.S.

Government and all its endeavors, we're also supporting over 50 million Americans

who are on welfare.

As a country, our safety net is catching more and more people each year, with sometimes

troubling results.

What used to be the last resort of those fallen on hard times, has become a strange sort of

American dream.

While no one would want those who are unable to work to go without food or basic necessities,

somewhere along the way it became totally socially acceptable for those who are able

bodied to try and "game the system" and leach off their fellow Americans.

Most of us would rather not think that the money given to these able-bodied adults is

going to anything other than food and clothing, sadly that's not the case.

To most of us, welfare abuse is bad enough when it's misappropriated to offer a work-free

life for adults whose children would have to suffer without it.

We remember the iconic stories about people buying steak and lobster and eating better

than those who worked for the money.

It would be even more horrifying for most Americans, especially conservatives if they

realized what their money was really going toward.

One such horrified taxpayer is TV icon Judge Judy.

TMN reports that when she received a case that involved a chronic welfare abuser, she

learned how the woman was really using the money allocated to buy food for her children;

to bail her drug dealer boyfriend out of jail:

'Judge Judy has no tolerance for people who leech off the government.

When an entitled welfare queen enters Judge Judy's courtroom, you better get your popcorn

because you know you are going to see a show!

Ann Marie sued her former roommate James Hill for stealing money that was intended to bail

her boyfriend out of jail.

What's infuriating is that the money she was using was welfare money intended for her

kids!

The plaintiff must not have ever seen Judge Judy's show because she would have known

the Judge wouldn't accept silly excuses and abuse of taxpayer dollars.

Judge Judy was flabbergasted by how much money Ann Marie gets from the government to care

for her children.

Even worse was that she was using it frivolously and not as it was intended!

You'll be disgusted at how much of your tax dollars the government gives this woman

when she appears to be able to work!

In addition to welfare and food stamps, taxpayers were paying for their rent, too!

She was getting so much money from the government that she was able to save some of it for Christmas

presents and bail!

She even got money from the Red Cross!

'That's what the taxpayers gave you the money for, to feed and clothe your children

NOT to use to bail out your drug addict boyfriend!'

Judge Judy yelled at the entitled welfare queen.

Her boyfriend was in jail for domestic violence.

Hill, who is her boyfriend's nephew, tried to get him out of jail but was not successful

so he returned the money to the welfare queen.

You'll be cheering Judge Judy in the video below as she yells at them to stop scamming

the system!'

This woman's story isn't the only one.

Forbs reports that welfare abuse isn't as uncommon as many Americans might hope.

In a piece titled Yes America, Your Fellow Citizens Do Abuse Federal Aid Programs they

lay out some troubling statistics about where our taxpayer dollars are going:

'The number of Americans receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) payments—which

average $1,111 per month for disabled workers—has increased substantially in recent years, from

9.3 million in January 2009 to 10.8 million Americans today.

As the number of enrollees has climbed, so has SSDI spending.

In 2011, payments through SSDI totaled nearly $129 billion.

That's a lot of money, even by Washington's standards.

For some perspective, the federal Department of Transportation spent far less ($77 billion),

and the entire Department of Labor used roughly the same budget ($132 billion).

Yet SSDI's official price tag dramatically understates the real costs associated with

SSDI determinations, since those who qualify for disability payments automatically become

eligible for Medicare after two years.

According to Dr. Andrew Biggs of the American Enterprise Institute (the former principal

deputy commissioner [sic] of the Social Security Administration (SSA)), Medicare's annual

expenditures on SSDI beneficiaries now exceed $70 billion.

Americans overwhelmingly support the idea of a safety net, and might not object to even

SSDI's large bill if those payments all went to those truly unable to work because

of disability.

Yet a recently released report by Senator Tom Coburn, the ranking member of the Permanent

Subcommittee on Investigations, suggests that's not the case.

His committee examined 300 cases of Americans who were awarded Social Security disability

benefits and determined that more than one quarter received benefits based on 'insufficient,

contradictory, or incomplete evidence.'

The Trump Administration's plan to overhaul certain aspects of the welfare system might

be met with some criticism and controversy, but stories like this make it abundantly clear

that change is needed before it completely bankrupts the government.

What do you think about this?

Dollar Live - Terrain that Teaches - Duration: 1:48.

(funky music)

- [Man] Push down.

Boom.

- My name is Krista and I am the children's program manager

on Dollar Mountain.

One thing I love about Dollar Mountain

and why it's so special in my heart

is because there are no trees here

and so we can ski wherever we can ski.

This year on our mountain we've really paid a lot

of attention to looking at our terrain

and how we can sculpt it with snow

to make it more inviting and more social

for our younger guests as well as our families.

We have progressions that we move our guests through.

In Prospector we have two spines that run down

parallel to each other and as they're going up and over

they're flexing and extending,

they're pressuring their outside ski,

and for them it's like riding a bicycle,

but for us as adults we know

that they are developing and building skiing skills.

As we move over into Mine Shaft,

the features become a little more defined, a little bigger,

working through these progressions help our younger guests

to develop the skiing skills and riding skills necessary

and they move through it a faster pace.

It's a lot more fun and social,

they're not skiing the same line every time

and they get to be creative in choosing the lines

that they want to ski.

Meet Developer Advocates at Google - Duration: 2:18.

I'm Bob Hancock and my job title is Developer Advocacy Manager.

My name is Josh Gordon. I'm a Developer Advocate. A developer advocate is

responsible for teaching developers how to use a project. And we understand what

the developer experience is so that we can feedback both to product management

and to the engineer so we create something that's genuinely useful.

My day-to-day involves working with the product team with the goal of making it

as easy to use as possible. So we wear many hats, and some of the hats will be

writing code. We'll also travel around the world giving workshops at conferences,

we'll make videos, write tutorials, and give talks. We deal with people that want

to take our enormous infrastructure and build something of their own. Probably

the best analogy is: if I gave you a box of 10,000 Legos, each one does something

specific, and like Legos they all work together, and it's up to you to create

maybe a niche in a marketplace or solve the need that no one else knows about.

And we'll help you do that. Developer advocate is a great role if you have a

lot of experience doing software engineering and you enjoy teaching. It's

a great opportunity to build a personal brand to get your name out there and to

speak in front of audiences worldwide.

I've been fascinated by things that work at scale but I also wanted to work for a

company that has integrity, that is looking after the end user not just to

make money and is aware of the consequences of what they do. I came to

work at Google because I decided I love teaching more than research and I was

looking for jobs where I could actually focus on teaching machine learning.

Google to a large extent has been a leader for with respect to sharing and

open source and deep learning frameworks. Helping people learn this field is

really rewarding. I come to work every day with the

smartest people I have ever met. I work with product managers, software engineers,

other folks from developer relations. There's a hugely diverse group of people

that I work with. They also have an incredibly optimistic attitude. It's

never about why we can't do something, it's I think we can do it. Let's figure

out how we are going to do it.

ROBOT TRAINS! Repairing The Clock Tower (English Full Episode 7) - Kids Robot Trains Cartoons! - Duration: 11:08.

- [Kay] Repairing the Clock Tower.

(ominous music)

I must return to the tracks.

- Kay!

Oh dear, are you out of your mind?

You're all out of energy.

- Let's move him to the tracks.

(groaning)

Alf!

- Alf?

- Alf, you're alive!

Alf!

How did you ever survive?

Oh, I'm so glad to see you again.

- It's a long story.

- Hey, Alf, it's me, Duck!

I knew you'd make it through.

- Wait, I almost forgot.

Duck, how's Kay doing?

- He's back on the tracks and seems

almost fully recharged.

But he's still not waking up.

- His engine must've overheated from running too long,

all at maximum power.

- Really?

What should we do?

- We have to take Kay back to his base right now

to repair his engine.

- His engine?

- Well, honestly, I can't guarantee it'll be the same,

even if we fix it.

- Kay.

I'll get you home as soon as I can.

- Thank you, Duck.

I'll stay right here with Alf.

We'll check the Mountain Area.

It's been shut down for too long.

- Got it.

Auto D!

(electronic beeping)

(energetic music)

- Duck.

- Kay, are you up?

- Yeah, barely.

By the way.

Who was that guy?

- Are you talking about Alf?

Thank goodness for him.

The Mountain Area was cut off for a long time,

but Alf survived the energy blackout.

- Have I ever met him before?

- Oh, poor Kay.

I guess you must've forgotten about Alf too.

Alf is great to have around in an emergency.

He stays calm and comes up with the best plans.

He's a great train.

- Did he used to hate me or something?

- No, why should he?

- Maybe I'm imagining things,

but I felt like he was really upset to see me around.

- No way.

Alf would never do that.

You two may have been opposites, but no matter what,

you always had respect for one another.

- Yeah.

You're right, I'm overthinking it.

(electronic beeping)

- [Computer] 98% of the engine is damaged.

It needs to be repaired right away.

- It's strange how cold the Mountain Area still is

even now that the tunnel has been reopened.

The Mountain Area should have normalized

once it was reconnected to the Fountain Plaza.

- Is everything okay at the Fountain Plaza?

- Hmmm, everything's fine here.

I think the temperature could be unstable

at the Mountain Area.

- Then I should go back and help Sally.

- I imagine there's been a lot of snow there.

Be sure to bring plenty of salt.

- I sure will, Jeffrey.

- Alf. - Yeah?

- I'm so glad to see that you're okay.

How did you survive for so long

after the energy was cut off?

- Hm, you won't believe me, Sally.

All I know is I'm so glad to see you guys again.

I just thought I'd be alone forever, you know?

- You're not alone any more.

Now we can all be together like we used to be.

- With Kay, like we used to?

- What's wrong?

- Nothing, but I still remember the day

when the tunnel was closed, because of Kay's stubbornness.

- But you know Kay had no choice then.

- I know.

- Hey, Benini.

I need to get rid of the snow from the tracks.

Do you have any recommendations?

- I have some saltwater concentrate.

- That's already in liquid form.

That'd be perfect for my water guns.

Two gallons, please.

(mellow piano music)

- Well, here we are, Sally.

You asked how I survived without the energy supply.

- Yeah.

- Well, this is how.

(gasping)

- What's this?

- This one here is from the gatekeeper, Mikhail.

He was the first one to give me his engine.

He said it'd be a waste using up energy

just to stay awake.

- This is an emergency situation.

We don't know when the tunnel gate will open again.

Well, we should give all our engines to Alf,

so he can do his job.

It's our only hope.

- But Mikhail, if you do that,

your engines might stop for good!

That'll be the end, and that'll be the end for everyone!

I won't sacrifice my friends' lives so I can live alone.

- Alf, you are our leader.

You must stay alive and keep trying.

We're truly sorry that you have to take on such burdens.

- This one is from Franz at the campsite.

He worked to prepare all of my tools,

right up until the moment he gave me his engine.

- Well.

- And this, Forest Ranger Russo.

Hm, he said he loved having conversations with his visitors.

He was a great friend.

(chuckling)

This is from Heinrich, from the cheese factory.

He was afraid all the cheese would go bad

if he took his engine out.

He asked me to take good care of his cheese,

and I promised I would.

- Please, take care of my cheese.

- I checked my friends' engines every day,

always worried that they would shut down,

and hoped that the trains in the Fountain Plaza

would come and... and save us from that place.

But I was not sad at all,

because my friends were with me in spirit.

And I tried to keep everything in order.

(gasping)

How can I ever forgive Kay,

after what he's done to my friends?

Now tell me that, Sally!

I'm sorry.

I really didn't mean to yell.

We need to focus on normalizing the temperature

in the Mountain Area.

(quirky music)

- Great, I've made it in time!

- That clock tower controls this region, Sally.

It receives energy from the tracks

and maintains the right temperature.

(ominous music)

- Do you think that's the problem?

- Very likely so.

With the tunnel closed off until now,

this is my first chance to check it.

Do you know how to check the clock tower?

- I need to get inside of the tower

to be able to use Becky's scanning beam.

Until then, there's not much I can do.

- Well, let's figure it out.

It can't be that hard.

Duck, do you think you can get rid

of the snow blocking the door to the clock tower?

- Of course.

That's exactly why I brought the salt water.

Tada!

(laughing)

See, salt melts snow.

- Watch out.

Now follow me.

- We need a new part.

- Yeah.

- I'll get it.

(sneezing)

Hmmmm.

Hey guys, I brought the new part.

- Great job, Alf!

(rumbling)

Now I just need to pull the lever.

- The clock tower is working again!

- With the clocks working the temperature's rising.

- Thank you, Sally, Duck.

Huh?

I think the rising temperature's causing an avalanche!

That's not good.

It looks very dangerous, guys.

We should've expected this.

- What should we do?

If we don't act quickly, it'll hit the clock tower.

- I think I know a way to stop it.

- [Sally and Duck] Alf, Alf!

(energetic music)

- I think that's finished.

(gasping)

I need to build a barrier!

- If the avalanche isn't stopped, Mountain Area is doomed!

- We're in trouble!

If only Kay was here to help.

JUST IN: NANCY PELOSI TO BE KICKED OUT OF CONGRESS?!

– Major Scandal Blows Open

For some time the House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has been suggesting for President Donald

Trump to be impeached ever since he won against Hillary Clinton in the November's election.

But, one top Republican is sick and tired of this.

This week on his radio show, Mark Levin said, "Well maybe it's time we expel Nancy Pelosi

and the Democrats from Congress."

He added, "If they're going to talk about impeachment, well then we need to talk about

expulsion … it's time to go on offense."

"They talk about impeachment like it's no big deal—it is a big deal!" Levin noted.

"They don't really care about the Constitution it's about power."

it already appears that Nancy Pelosi is losing her seat in Congress, as her reputation has

been decreasing since she started her constant attacks

on

President Trump.

How to extract and search only product images on Android - Duration: 2:14.

How to extract and search only product images on Android

Hello everyone

This time, I will show you how to extract and search only product images on Android

On Android from around March 2018, in "Google Image Search"

"Product" tag function which can extract only the product image and can search is now available

This "merchandise" tag not only searches for "Google" apps,

You can also use it in the browser application "Chrome"

Also, the product images extracted at this time will be product images registered in each EC site

In fact, in order to extract only the product image on Android and search it, we first search by keyword etc. in "Google" application or "Chrome" as usual

Next, touch the "Image" tab and switch to the image search screen of keywords

Then touch "Item" displayed below the search window

Only the product images registered in the EC site are extracted and displayed with this

For Android's product image search that I introduced this time,

It is useful for searching for products that are actually being sold from images displayed by keywords to be searched

However, as the displayed image is highly likely to be protected by copyright, please be aware that copyright infringement may be infringed if you download it arbitrarily and do secondary use

It is recommended to use it to access the EC site quickly from the keyword to the last

It was an introduction on how to extract and search only product images on Android

Dynamic Table of Contents in Word (How The Experts Do It) - Duration: 13:33.

So Carol has sent in a request asking for some help with Table of Contents, in particular,

adding items to an existing Table of Contents or changing the level of stuff in the Table

of Contents.

Now Carol, this video is for you, but if you're not Carol, but you're in the same situation

as Carol, this is also for you.

Stay tuned.

Now the thing is with Table of content is they're

actually very easy to set up and if you've set up your document correctly, then the process

of doing Table of Contents is quite simple.

Unfortunately, a lot of people over-complicate and over-think things and built a lot of stuff

manually, which then makes the process of building Table of Contents

really hard.

So let me show you the correct process from the beginning and hopefully this will fill

in some gaps and clear up some of the fog for you.

To build a proper Table of Contents that updates automatically, you need to use the styles

in your setup.

So the four styles I'm going to be using today at the NORMAL style, the HEADING 1, the HEADING

2 and the HEADING 3 which will come into play a bit later on.

I've got a sample document set up here.

So this is just a simple heading that say's Table of Contents, and beneath that I'm going

to insert the Table of Contents using the tool.

Now all this text that you see here, at the moment is using the Normal style, so there's

no special styling attached to it at the moment.

We have a top level headed here that has a subheading and three sub sub headings.

Beneath that we have a second top level heading and that also has a sub heading and a sub

sub heading.

So basically we've got here is three levels of stuff happening.

Let's return to the top.

Now first up I'm just going to take the Table of Contents text and just increase the size

of it, centre it on the page.

That's just normal text that's just a heading.

Let me come down to our first top level heading and I'm going to apply the Heading 1 style

to this.

Now Heading 1, Heading 2 and Heading 3 all use what's called a paragraph style.

And that means that rather than having to select the whole bit of text, which is what

a lot of people do, all you actually have to do is to click somewhere in the text and

because it's a paragraph style, it applies to every bit of text in that paragraph.

So here I click Heading 1, and that's the top level heading style.

I'll do the same for the subheading here and apply the Heading 2 style.

The sub sub heading is a Heading 3.

The other two sub sub headings are also Heading 3.

And then we come to the second top level heading, which is Heading 1.

The next subheading is level 2 and the sub sub heading, that's Heading 3.

So you've now applied either the Heading 1, 2 or 3 styles to all of the headings throughout

the document.

So I'm just leaving some ordinary text in between all these headings just to demonstrate

that these headings can be anywhere in the document.

They are what will be picked up to build the Table of Contents.

And there's one attribute, one property that I need to make you aware of with all these

headings styles.

Now first up, when we started, we only had Heading 1 and Heading 2 at the top here.

As soon as you style something with Heading 2, Heading 3 then becomes available.

As soon as you style something with Heading 3, Heading 4 becomes available and so on.

What you can't do is just have a document that contains Heading 1's and Heading 3's

with no Heading 2's because Heading 3 only becomes available once you have a Heading

2 to put it underneath.

The second thing is if I right click Heading 1 here and choose Modify this takes you to

this dialogue which has all the attributes, all the properties of this particular style,

so this is how Heading 1 looks.

Now, the bit in the middle here, these are the most common things that you tend to change

with a style, so things to do with the font, things to do with your paragraph.

You can also come down to the Format button and it gives you nine categories of stuff

that you can change and set for your style.

Now I've actually got a separate video that does a deep dive on all this stuff and I'll

put the link to this in the show notes beneath this video.

The main point I want to make here though is this property here called AUTOMATICALLY

UPDATE, has a tick box which is currently unticked, which means it's not set on.

So if I just cancel out for a second, if I then make a simple change to this first top

level heading, maybe I'll change the color here.

You'll notice the first top level heading has changed color, but the second one remains

how it was and that's because the AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE is currently switched off, which means

you can make one off changes like this.

Realistically, probably what you want to do here is to have the AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE set

on so that if you make a change to one of the top level headings, they all change.

That way, they remain consistent throughout your document.

You go to Heading 1, you right click and Modify.

You make sure that AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE is set on and click OK.

Let's make another change to this, maybe make it green and this time you can see the first

and second top level headings are green.

So you make a change to one and all of them that are styled with that style change automatically.

So the reason I mentioned that is because later on when we style our Table of Contents,

it's actually the other way around.

The AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE is set on as the default.

Now another common thing you tend to do when you've got lots of levels of stuff happening

is to number it.

So your top level stuff will have ONE and then the first top level heading and then

TWO and then a second top level heading and so on.

And then for the second level down, by the subheading here that tends to be numbered

as 1.1, and then the sub headings underneath will have 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3 and it tends

to go down in that sort of fashion.

Now again, I've got another video which does a deep dive on how to set up multi-level numbering

from scratch where it gives you full control over how things are styled, how things are

numbered, where stuff is positioned and all that kind of stuff.

Again, I'll put the link for that in the show notes beneath this video.

But to keep things simple here, if you click any one of these styled headings, doesn't

matter whethe it's Heading 1, Heading 2 or Heading 3, go to your multi-level numbering

icon here and there's one of the preset options here which has the 1, 1.1, 1.1.1 style numbering

with the heading styles listed underneath.

And that means that the heading styles get linked to each level of that numbering.

So with one click we can actually number things automatically all the way through.

And as you can see it's all correct.

And as we make changes later on, the numbering will update itself.

So that's a beautiful thing.

OK, let's return to the main focus of this video, which is to build the Table of Contents

from this content.

So I'm going to go to the top here, just position my cursor.

Now the Table of Contents is on the References tab, on the left-hand

side, Table of Contents.

You've got two preset or built in options which you can choose if you want to and with

one click you have your Table of Contents and it'll be dynamic, which means if your

content then changes in any way, the Table of Contents

can update to stay in line with those.

However, I want to show you some of the other options that are available, some of the settings

you can change so that you can customise this in any way you like.

So down the bottom you have a Custom Table of Contents.

Now I tend to work from the bottom upwards.

First of all, it says SHOW LEVELS and it says three.

Now with our current setup, we actually do have three levels of headings happening, so

three is perfect, but if you, let's say, only Heading 1's and Heading 2's, you might want

to reduce this down to two.

The next thing is, where it says FROM TEMPLATE, that's talking about this style here.

So the way things look.

And as you choose each of these down the bottom here, each option shows something different

and displays things in different ways.

So you can go through and kind of find one you like the look of and use that as a starting

point.

As we move up, we have what's called a TAB LEADER.

Now the Tab Leader is the thing that connects the item with the page number.

In this case, that's a dot but you also have the choice of dashes, underscores or nothing

at all, you can switch it off.

As we move up, the next thing says RIGHT ALIGN YOUR PAGE NUMBERS.

In my opinion, that always looks best if you have that set on.

So have your items on the left hand side and the page numbers all lined up on the right.

If you uncheck it, it actually puts the page numbers right next to your item, which again,

in my opinion, doesn't look too good.

And then the final thing here, it says SHOW PAGE NUMBERS.

Now I mean, DUR, it's a Table of Contents.

What's the point of a Table of Contents without page numbers.

I have no idea.

I don't even know why that's an option, but make sure it's on, make sure your page numbers

are displayed.

That's the whole point of the Table of Contents .

All of these formats with the exception of FROM TEMPLATE, you'll notice the MODIFY button

over here is greyed out.

If you choose From Template, the Modify button is active.

Now, in the same way that we modify the styles of the Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3 down

here, you can also modify the styles of the first Table of Contents level, the second

Table of Contents level and the third Table of Contents

level.

In other words, the way that the Table of Contents looks when it's actually created

in just a minute.

By clicking Modify here, it gives you all the Table of Contents

levels.

Lets say we choose the top level, level one, and click Modify.

What you see here is the way that the top level Table of Contents item is going to display

as, and any sort of changes you want to make in terms of font size, font colors, indentations,

all that kind of stuff, again all these nine categories down here you can set things for.

So you can change all that here, but the main thing I want to bring your attention to again

is this option called AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE and you'll see it's ticked by default and

that means that once your Table of Contents

is built, any changes you make to one of the items will change all of the items of that

same level.

So a top level item, you change it, it will change the look of all the top level items

in your Table of Contents

. Now in a minute I'll demonstrate that once the Table of Contents is built.

Now back on this dialog, the other option you have down here is the OPTIONS button.

By default, it links to the Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3.

In other words, the Table of Contents

feature will scan through the document and whenever it come across something that's styled

with Heading 1, 2 or 3, it'll use that text and insert it into the Table of Contents

as an item and it will obviously link to the appropriate page number.

Occasionally, not very often, you may want to link to one of your own custom styles.

So maybe instead of linking into Heading 3, you can remove the three from there which

removes the tick from over here, which means Heading 3 is no longer linked, and you can

come down to whichever style you want to link it to instead, so let's imagine that TITLE

is your custom style, you could put number three down there.

So as long as you've got one, two and three against something, the Table of Contents

then knows what to look for in order to pick up the right stuff at the Table of Contents.

Now for this example I'm going to cancel that.

Just leave it as Heading 1, 2 and 3, that's fine.

But these are the things you can change.

Let's click OK. this character.

Now, here is your Table of Contents that's ben built from this content down here.

If you click on the Table of Contents

, you'll see how it's got a gray background.

Anything you see in word with a gray shading behind it means that Word controls it.

In other words, you don't have to manually manipulate the page numbers or any of the

content you seen a Table of Contents.

It's updated dynamically.

So as an example, if I come down to here and I put the cursor at the beginning of the second

top level heading and press CTRL ENTER, which is a shortcut to insert a page break.

Return to the top of the document.

Now, at the moment the Table of Contents

is still showing everything on page one, but if I click on it, get the gray shading and

either press F9 or you can also right click and UPDATE FIELD.

It will ask YOU how you want to update it.

Now, if the content hasn't changed, but you've just put stuff onto different pages, you can

just choose UPDATE PAGE NUMBERS ONLY.

But if you've modified your document, you've added new stuff in, you deleted sections,

you've changed stuff around and rearranged them, you probably want to choose UPDATE ENTIRE

TABLE.

That way it does a fresh scan of your document and rebuilds the Table of Contents

from scratch.

So let's choose that one.

And if you want to play it safe, just choose the second one every time you update and then

click OK.

And you can see that the page numbers for the second top level heading and all the subsequent

subheadings have changed to page two.

Now in terms of the positioning and stuff like that, based on the fact that the TOC

1, 2 and 3 styles are all set to Automatically Update, that means that any changes I make

will apply to all the other things that are styled in the same way.

So let's go to this first subheading.

This is level two.

Now looking at the ruler here (and if you don't have the ruler to displayed, just go

to View and make sure that Ruler is ticked), so if I grab this little rectangle here, being

careful to avoid the triangles, when I move this across, this is changing the indent of

the numbers from the margin, so you can see that the numbers now are in line with the

sub sub headings.

And if I also wanted to put the text of the subheading in line with the text of the sub

sub heading I can move the left Tab Marker at the top here, which is indicated with this

little 'L' and if I grab that and drag that across, that's changing the indent of the

text itself.

So what I've done is I've put that on, just past the two mark there.

To bring it perfectly in line I'm going to also take the sub sub heading and just move

that marker back to the same position.

It's slightly offset at the moment, but by doing that you can see they are now perfectly

in line.

So all those kind of little changes you can do here.

So let's say I select the entire text of the first top level heading.

Let's increase the font size a little bit, let's maybe make it bold and let's maybe change

the font color.

So whatever you decide to do, you make the change to one and it changes every time it

comes across it.

Let's say you want to add a bit more of a gap between the first top level heading and

the subheadings.

You can go to your paragraph settings here, it's currently set to have a space of five

points after, maybe you increase that to 12 points after.

That's a big gap, but when you click OK, see how it's added more of a gap underneath the

major headings.

Now sticking with changing levels, let's go back to the main document there, maybe make

this sub sub heading a subheading so I'm just going to change the text there and also to

promote it, I'm going to press SHIFT and TAB.

Now Tab DEMOTES it down a level.

You can see it changing here.

But SHIFT and TAB is a little shortcut key to PROMOTE it up a level.

When I do that it becomes 1.2 (it was previously 1.1.1) because this is now a subheading.

This is now the sub sub heading, so it's gone 1.2.1 where that was briefly 1.1.2.

So all the numbering stays in line as you want it to.

Let's reflect that change back on the Table of Contents, I'm going to right-click on the

Table of Contents and UPDATE FIELD, just update the entire table and click OK, and you can

see that the change here has taken effect.

So that's how you build a dynamic Table of Contents

, so whatever you do to your document, as long as you stick with Heading 1, 2 and 3,

that's linked to the Table of Contents that you built at the top and anytime you want

to update the Table of Contents

, you can either click it and press F9 or right click and update the field, they both

do the same thing.

And that way the Table of Contents

always reflects the content in the document.

So I hope that's been useful.

It's always good to hear from you, so any questions you have, feel free to post the

question in the comments beneath and I'll be sure to get back to you, but the best thing

you can do now is to set yourself up with a document or open a document you've already

got and put some of these principle into practice and make sure they work.

I'll see you in the next one.

Handgun Shooting Tips with Training Camera - ShotKam Rail Model - Duration: 4:41.

Hi everyone, this is Emily from the ShotKam team.

And in this video we'll go over a few tips for analyzing your ShotKam videos.

When shooting at a stationary paper target at the range,

there are two common sources of error for most shooters.

The first is their natural arc of movement, and the second is trigger-pull.

More advanced shooters will use their ShotKam to analyze things like:

target acquisition times,

transitions between targets,

split times between shots,

recoil-control,

three-gun shooting techniques,

or other aspects of their shooting techniques.

We are going to focus on the two most common sources of error.

Let's get started.

Your natural arc of movement, which is sometimes called "Wobble," is the first.

It's not possible to hold a perfect sight-picture

where the sights on your handgun

stay exactly centered on the target.

We are alive, therefore we have movement that translates into the "Wobble"

of the gun-sight on the target.

When watching your ShotKam videos, study your arc of movement

as seen by the reticle which is the red dot or crosshair seen in your videos.

There will be inherent margin of error even if you have perfect trigger-control.

Quantify your arc of movement,

for example: is your reticle moving 1 - 2 inches around the target at 20 feet,

or is it moving 3 -4 inches?

Top-tier shooters will typically have a smaller arc of movement than novice shooters,

and there are many contributing factors to this.

We recommend working with an experienced certified instructor to reduce the "Wobble."

The second source of error that we will review is trigger-control.

Now the objective of trigger-control is to press until the trigger breaks

without disturbing the alignment of the gun.

This is very hard to do perfectly and even the best shots will often see

some level of flinch in their trigger-press.

As you study your ShotKam videos,

you will initially see your natural arc of movement,

then in the fraction of second before gun-discharge

you will see the effect of your trigger-control.

Watch your videos frame-by-frame to see this.

You'll see the reticle move off target slightly

in the frames just before gun discharge.

That amount of movement

is a measure of your trigger-control technique.

Use the ShotKam's reticle to quantify

the margin of error during trigger-press.

From where you were prior to trigger-press,

then where the reticle was on the target

at gun-discharge.

You will see that the location of the reticle

at gun-discharge

is the location of the bullet hole after the shot is taken.

An expert's video will show

a very small amount of flinch during trigger-pull.

And a more novice shooter will have a greater deviation

caused by trigger-control.

Trigger-control is so important

that some top-tier competitive shooters have said,

"Trigger-control is MORE important than gun-sight alignment."

Again, we recommend using the ShotKam as a tool for quantifying your error,

then working with an experienced certified instructor to improve your techniques.

We hope that this tutorial was helpful, and if you have any questions

please send us a message on the Contact Us page,

send us an email, or give us a call.

Thanks for watching and have a great day.

316419700 - Replacing Your Frigidaire Range's Control Overlay - AP3775623, PS978042 - Duration: 5:28.

Hi my name is Bill.

And today I'm going to be showing you how to replay the Control Overlay on your stove.

The reason why you might have to do this is because it's been worn away.

For this repair you'll need a 1/4 inch nut driver.

WARNING!

Before doing any repairs please disconnect your power source.

So this is the stove we're going to be using for our demonstration.

It's a Frigidaire.

And keep in mind that ours might be a little be a little bit different than what you've

got at home but the same techniques should still apply.

The first thing you want to do is make sure you turn your gas off.

So this is our control overlay.

To get to it we're going to have to turn the range around and unscrew the back panel.

To remove this panel here we've got four screws holding it in.

One, two, three, four.

So we're going to start with the bottom ones here.

While I undo this top one I'm just going to hold the panel in place so it doesn't fall

down on us when we take the screw out.

And that will come right off.

You can set the panel off to the side there.

So this here is the back of our control board overlay.

It's held in by four screw which we're going to have to remove.

And with this last one just hold your panel a little bit so it doesn't fall off.

Okay so now that the screws are gone we can lean this back.

As you can see right here this is the panel.

To get it off just try to peel off a corner if it doesn't have a tab which ours does have

a tab.

So we can just use that and the entire piece should peel of without too much difficulty.

There we go.

Now grab your new oem replacement control overlay.

If you don't have one already you can find one on our online store.

So now we're going to peel this off the back.

Just like that.

And we're going to go onto our overlay again.

Make sure you line everything up nice and even as possible.

And we'll start right on that end, and stick that corner, stick this corner on.

Everything looks like it lines up with the screen.

So we're going to go ahead and press this on now.

Okay.

Now we're got that pressed on we can start putting everything back on.

There we go.

And now that we've got that screwed in we can put our back panel back on.

Now we're going to want to line up our panel just like it was before we took it apart.

Make sure the hole lines up.

Now we can turn everything back around, hook it up, and your repair is complete.

And now we can turn our gas back on.

Finally, don't forget to plug in your appliance.

If you need to replace any parts for your appliances you can find an oem replacement

part on our website

How To Use YouTube Ads - Reviewing The Results - Duration: 9:09.

Welcome to this video entitled: "How To Use YouTube Ads - Reviewing The Results"

Now, this video is all about drawing conclusions from the results of your

YouTube ads campaign. When you follow your YouTube ad campaign to the very end

you need to be able to interpret your results in a meaningful way. In the

meantime, be sure to watch this video to the very end where you'll be able to

download a free PDF copy entitled: "The Top 10 Tips For Beginners To YouTube Ads".

Hi, my name is Jeff Laming from Video Cashflow and in this video we're going

to follow the test results of this YouTube ads campaign (it was run over

four days) and interpret the results in such a way that you can determine your

next steps. Let's now head over to the computer and whilst l make my way

over there be sure to read the following slide about to come up on your screen....

Okay, now let's have a look at Day 2. I've just gone into the Google AdWords

campaign account and you will see that I've had some more views which is very

encouraging. Now, I'm not surprised that the number of

views for today has gone down slightly because, if you recall, yesterday I made a

few amendments to the settings, but even so, what this shows is that 391 views

yesterday, and so far today 317 views, and the time is about quarter past three in the

afternoon here in the UK. So the trend is as was yesterday - more views with a much

higher view rate on the in-stream ad and just barely touching 2% view rate i.e. just

under a hundred views, albeit a lot more impressions, for the in - display [ad]. So, the

other encouraging thing is that, obviously, the £10 per day -

sorry, £5 per day, £10 over 2 days so far, and the average cost

per view is a penny for the in-stream [ad] and 3 pennies for the in display [ad]. So, all

very, very encouraging. So we'll come back and have a look at tomorrow's results

to see what that looks like to see if there's any other trends that are formulating

and I'll catch up with you then.

Okay, let's now have a look at Day 3's

results. Slightly trending downwards but even so we've got another 292 views on

the video ad, up to just under a thousand, and if you have a look down

here we can see that the trend is following the path of the last two days.

In-stream ad impressions - 2,000, views of just under 800 - a view rate of

just under 39 percent. Cost per view - a penny - and the video the video ad shows up in -

video discovery - far more impressions, about five times as much - only

205 views. hence the low view rate of less than 2%, and cost per view

is three pence. So, let's see what happens in Day 4 and then we'll have a quick

summary and decide on what steps to take next, so I'll see you very shortly.

And now we've come to the last day of the test and in total we've got

1,246 views so over the 4 days that equates to just over 300

a day. And remember, these views count towards the 10,000 view threshold, one of

the parameters brought in by YouTube via Google to enable you to join

the partners scheme to join the AdSense scheme if that's something that you're

looking to do in your business. So let's take a closer look at these figures. This

is Day 4 of the campaign - the last day, so let's just open up the campaign there

and get a better view of it. I'm just going to expand on this now, just so that you get a bird's eye view.

Here's the in-stream and the video discovery results. As you can see, the video

discovery results are seven or eight times larger more than the in-stream [ad], but in

total just under twenty thousand impressions. Now the views are really

interesting because the views of just under a thousand for the in-stream ad - that's a

view rate of forty percent - and that rate has gradually been

increasing as the days went along. Average cost per view - a penny - and in

the video discovery, although this view rate is still very, very low the trend has - I

think from memory - been increasing. Average cost per view of 3p. All

in all, that's a very interesting campaign, and what I'm going to do now is -

obviously, off screen - I'll go back and have a look at the results in more

detail and also more importantly see what happened with regard to the

downloading of that product itself. Now I've already looked, I've gone into my account -

my Sarah Staar account - and it doesn't look as though anyone's actually downloaded the

product, so obviously I need to go back and find out exactly what's gone wrong

there. Tweak it, improve it and then start another campaign until I get it

exactly right, and then that will then give me the confidence to move ahead

doing more YouTube ad campaigns and once I'm happy with those then I will roll

it out as a service to offer to other businesses, other local businesses. So,

thanks ever so much for watching. If you'd like to make any comments or have any

questions please post in the Comments section below the video and good luck

with your own YouTube ad testing and ad campaigns. Now I'm going to give you

3 recommended sites to go to when you set up a YouTube

ads campaign. That's information before you actually go ahead with that will be,

you'll find, really, really useful. Also, the other reason why I'm suggesting you

do this is because YouTube, like Google, implement a number of changes to their

processes and when they do that the screens change and it's very easy to get

lost in everything and give up, which will be a shame. So the first one I'm

going to recommend you have a look at is the YouTube Creators. Again I'll put

the URL links on the screen and underneath the.....in the description box

with this video, but YouTube Creators is at www.creatoracademy.youtube.com

That's the first one. The next one is, if you go into YouTube itself and go into the

YouTube help facility and look up "Video Advertising with AdWords" (set up in

basic). It tells you how to create a TrueView video campaign - what you need to do

before you begin - and then actually how to create a TrueView video campaign. Now

this will be really useful to print out as you're going through and setting up

your first video ad campaign. The layout of the screens and everything does

change from time to time so if you go to the Help in YouTube, print this off

because hopefully will have changed as well in line with any on-screen changes

and then make it that much easier for you to follow the steps. And then the

third one is getting to this stage here. Type into Google and enter "YouTube

advertising". Down here you'll see: " YouTube

Advertising: Online Video Advertising Campaigns". Just click on that and you'll

come to this page here which probably looks a bit familiar because, if you recall,

right at the very bottom is where you make your claim for the credits. There

you go - get your £100 free credit or dollars as it may well be where you're

residing. And a whole wealth of resources are there so just go through "How it works";

"Making a video ad"; "Running a video ad"; "Pricing"; "Success stories"; "Resources". All of

this - this and the other two resources I've just gone through - really, really

useful information to help you get familiar with the layouts and finding

your way around before you actually pluck up the courage to actually go ahead with your

first video ad which I'm sure you will do and again good luck with your first video

ad campaign.

I hope you found those steps useful. Now that the first YouTube ads

test campaign has been completed and the results assessed it's now time to move

on to the next campaign. Once you've undertaken your first YouTube ads

campaign you might want to become your own best customer, and run the campaign

promoting your own business. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you all the best and

I'll go back to a comment I made on another video where I firmly believe

that once you understand and implement YouTube ads to the point where you can

generate some decent revenues, that you are on your way to taking control of

your destiny.

Here's the link for you to download your FREE copy of: "The Top 10 Tips For

Beginners To YouTube Ads". I'll also put the link in the description box below

this video. Thanks for watching. Look out for another video on video marketing and

YouTube coming your way next week. Enjoy! Until next time, bye for now....

Cách chỉnh ảnh cho instagram của mình | How I edit my photos (Lightroom Tutorial) - Duration: 12:50.

Welcome to my channel, my name is Tan.

In this video, I'll show you how I edit my photos for Instagram

I'm gonna be using Adobe Lightroom

I'll show the you entire process from start to finish

Ok, let's get into it

So, I'm currently in Lightroom.

I'm gonna start by editing this photo first, then use the settings for this one and apply to the others

I'm going from top to bottom, start with the basic section first

For the exposure, I'm not going to change anything

For contrast, I'm gonna bring it up to 10

I don't want the contrast to be too high. I think 10 is good in my opinion

Next is hightlights, shadows, whites, and blacks

I'm gonna bring down the highlights a lot, around -77

Next, I'm gonna increase the shadows to bring out the details and lighten up the dark spots in the photo

About 60 I think is good

Like I said, the shadows bring out the details and dark spots in the photo

For whites, I'll bring it down to about -33

For blacks, -15 is fine.

This is good so far

Next up is clarity, vibrance, and saturation

Usually I don't change clarity and vibrance at all. I keep it as is

I only change saturation down to around -10 because I like my photos desaturated

I want it to be neutral, not too colorful

Next is the tone curve, this is important because it's gonna change the look of your photo

It's the same as the highlights, shadows, white, and blacks in the basic

Left is shadows, and right is highlights

The bottom is black tones, and top is white tones

I usually create a small S curve for this

I'm gonna bring up the shadows to give it a dreamy looks

I'll bring down the highlights on this side

I want to show more details on the model

I'll pull this point down to make it a little bit darker

I'll adjust the midpoint to my liking

I'll bring this point down as well

I'll go back up and adjust the shadows, raise it to brighten the model

I'll add another point here and bring it down to my liking

Ok, so far so good

Moving down to the HSL sliders, changing the colors of the photo

For Hue, I'll lower the red. As you can see, the red on the lips is changing.

If you slide to the right, red changes to orange. Slide it back to the left, red becomes more red

Usually girls like their lips to be red, looking sexy and shit. So, I'll slide it to the left

-19 is good here

For orange, if you pull it up too high, it's gonna change the color of the skin. You don't want to make it looks weird here

I'll bring this down to make it looks warmer

-27 is ok here

You can zoom in so it's easier to work with

This makes her look like she's sick

I changed my mind here, instead of -27, now it's -21

I'll bring down the yellow as well, changing the color of the sunlight

Around -53

The rest of this, I'll keep it as is

Next is Saturation, you can make your photos pop here, making it looks colorful and shit.

For example, if you slide red to the right, it's gonna make red stands out

However, I like my photos desaturated so I'll bring these colors down

Except for red because I want to keep the color of the lips

I'll leave it at 9 here

I'll put -9 for orange

-15 for yellow

I'll usually desaturate green completely, but this time I'll leave it at -90

So far this is the before

And this is after

There's not much aqua and blue here so I'm not gonna change anything

Moving down to Luminance, this will adjust the brightness to the colors you're changing

I'll zoom in here so it's easiery to work with

Slide the red to the right is gonna brighten up the lips. To the left, it's gonna darken the lips

-5 is good here

Orange is gonna affect the skin of the model

Yellow for the highlights

I'll bring down the yellow, lower the highlights again so the main focus of the photo is the model

There's another way that you can adjust these sliders and colors

is by clicking this and dragging it to the photo

If you want to fix any part in particular, you can click and drag it to that part

Hold it then drag up or down to adjust

That's what I usually do

I want the highlight to be the model

So 10 is good here

Click done when you finish

I think I'm gonna change the saturation of orange, bring it up a little bit

I want the skin to look as natural as possible

I think the skin tone is the most important part

If the skin looks good then everything else is gonna be perfect too

You don't want the skin color to look weird

I'm gonna bring green down just a little bit

Next is split toning, I want to add blue into my highlights to make it look a little bit colder

208 for the Hue and 9 for Saturation. If you notice, there are blue highlights in the photo

For shadows, same as highlights.

I drag it from left to right to see which color I like the most

Hue 224 and Saturation 3 are good here

Next is the effects, post-crop vignetting

I'm gonna bring this down around -15 to make the model be the focus of the photo

The last part is camera calibration, I'll bring the tint up to 30

For red primary, I put hue at -10, and saturation at -9

For green primary, hue at +15 and saturation at -13. For blue, hue at -10 and saturation at -21

Ok this is what I have after editing

You can click on this cycle between before and after views to see the two photos at the same time

I really like this edit

After editing, I always go to the crop overlays to change the ratio of the photo to fit Instagram requirements

Instagram requires portrait photos to be square. So I always choose 4x5 for the crop

So that is my editing process from start to finish

Thank you for watching this video

Let's Play Fire Emblem - The Binding Blade 01 (Roy & The Princess of Bern) - Duration: 58:03.

hey RPG fans this is smashin bro ben and this is my retro attack series in

this one I'm gonna play a very special game I'm a huge Fire Emblem fan and I

got into this series from GBA and before the actual Game Boy Advance game that we

got in the United States it was one that never came out he had never made it to

the States was never translate it's called fire mode the fighting blade

which is actually the prequel to the first game I've ever played now I've

never had the chance fortunately some fans got together translated this game

and I'm gonna go into it and play it for you guys it's a complete blind

playthrough for me I've never tried this game before so hopefully you guys will

enjoy it as much as I let's do this fire

new game

dawn of destiny all right time for some backstory man and dragons once lived in

harmony on this land yes of course a war broke out blah blah blah the loss of

nations were twisted the Dragons really feel it yeah this is a basic premise of

all the firearm games or the old ones at least we're you know dragons once ruled

the world and now it's it's the world of men a thousand years have passed very

cool the people of continent lb lb lb winner

has been spreading the technology and civilization all right so mankind is on

the rise and Dragons have been defeated

Victoria is a most advanced civilization ok continent of LB the kingdom of burn

is with a powerful military and practical and pragmatic attitude it's a

little backdrop of the kingdoms these are the two strongest nations in le dijo

que el by and Western nations are only seen okay cool

we got dad like I'm gonna wait to jump into the characters because that's how I

started learning the game usually Fire Emblem games are your Game of Thrones

fair where they throw a lot of names at you a lot of different people involved

but and slowly but surely you start learning and you know discovering what's

going on oh we got some northern people's there

ah I see this already rings the bell the Sakaya Plains the nomads from those

areas I remember this from the other gaming but I have not played the

original GBA game since it originally launched so I don't even remember much

aside from a couple names and there's a few clashes but there was a general

sense of balance and power until something happens that balance was

suddenly disrupted

Kings Fe o ruler of kingdom of burn that sent his horses out to conquer the rest

of the nations huh all right so this is the major asphalt number one going for a

full-on attack like he's invading Sakai and elia mercilessly by the way

oh I guess this is our first protagonist a youth named Roy was in the ciaz like a

messiahs largest territory osteo she was sent as a transfer student

to train to become the next marquis of try oh so he doesn't look like he's that

high ranking of a guy he's not a coil D that's a change all right cool I'll take

that

this his dad asked him to come back home just around that time valina the

daughter factor had traveled to Lisa Lucia to play her respects to eliwood

alright so she's on the way to she doesn't know what's going on I guess

Roy's hurrying back home and his loyal Knights all right cool

bourse and Knight from Ostia all right he looks like a capable dude he's

travelling home and this is where the story begins Godard

here we go battle number one Donnell destiny these are the bad guys of

bandits boss the residents of the castle have fitted themselves inside here even

Ella would the greatest night of lucia can be done illness alright so they're

taking advantage of the kingdom while the king is ill these guys decided her

sneak attack

you assholes alright you're gonna pay for that yeah we could take it she

didn't think I am reinforcements might come anytime

alright kill off the guys in the castle while I still got time and they wanna

treasure all right so they look like average bandits castles aren't the only

places will treasure okay we're at psychical gone no they're

gonna attack some villages protect the village no no that sucks that's terribly

that

yeah he's not capable of helping out that song I would teach him a lesson

mr. Allah would mean he must hide somewhere uh if I know my fire among

girls they're not the ones to hide these castle is going to become battlefield

nope she's gonna bite there we go no sir I will fight too yeah she wasn't

introduced for no reason she's gonna be our one of our leaf characters don't be

ridiculous something happened to you I wouldn't

know what to say to your father we have died so he feels responsible for

her all right they feel like they're like close friends friendship going on

between the two families

my son would be here by now so all right he's sick he's really counting

on his son

Merlin s I want you to send a messenger it's sending a messenger son so he's

quite a strategist trying to warn his child there's been an attack all right

ass-kicking time the Cavalry's here

Lance Master Roy venomous have appeared alright we got it all got it huh here we

go the first classic uh motif firearm but we always get the Blue Knight you

got the right Knight some kind of bonding relationship there that's

classic

how long he can last in his mentalness excuse me

Lance is it is lazy latina safe

are you foremost you bro mmm-hmm we gotta help she's in a castle

all right cool they're trusting in the Kings power to protect her so he feels

responsible no I shouldn't have let her to the castle yep

stop doubting yourself dude lets us act let's hurry let's do this

yep I'm gonna save them this is one of the very reasons guys I got into the

Fire Emblem series I just love the quality of writing and those games suck

you in all the interesting characters and then politics and the trails going

on it's fewer Game of Thrones material alright let's do something a little bit

of kink of aggregation I like my animations to be with backgrounds yes

games be fast takes place that's ran out on you

you

all right looks like I'm good

how do I check with his guys

all right weaponry

all right

gun sword

Biron sorta and so Marcus and Allen alright

oh they don't have swords alright got it so the basic premise is for those of you

guys who don't play the Fire Emblem games you have the triangle that you got

to keep in mind if a triangle consists of swords axes and Spears swords be axes

acts as beat spears and Spears bedsores that's the basic premise of the game

plus including all the little terrain here which will kind of like give you

advantages and disadvantage for example mountains are harder to navigate if

you're in the force here you might have an advantage boost Aleichem dodging the

attacks right let's do this without further ado okay let's see alright this

guy can cover us this one can as well so I'm gonna draw

them out

all right

let's get prepared for these guys ass-kicking time is on the way all right

damn it reinforcements already what are we gonna do you better be scared cuz

shit is gonna happen nope miss Bea ah look at these guys I miss

surprise so much I mean I love my 3ds games but this price is just such

beautiful work nope you don't mess with a sword I have the high ground Anakin

not gonna happen all right and now we can go for a four

sack

this guy's slow anyway so we're gonna attack with him sweet my first kill the

others do it had no chance I'm gonna make it no I'm not gonna make

let's do some arrange support here sweet wow that was

nice that was nice finish this guy off

boom right in the dome the cavalry does not play around

all right this guy can you reach us yes well you know what we'll give him that

opportunity because I have a sword and I'm in no danger with this guy attack

your ass oh you're done only you don't get the hell out of here

yep my nice kicking ass all right you're gonna go to this little house and visit

by the way when you visit villages in town sometimes they give you useful info

or sometimes even items hey you guess what I got some cash for

you I hugged it I guess I swear guys I didn't freaking know

money is important all right how you gonna give me some money hell no but

money is in portlet ha no well he can maybe visit this village here yep as I

anticipated miss me one more time nope usually when you have a weapon that

outclasses your opponent sometimes you do critical or double strike it's always

helpful okay all right all right now sir take that sir aw crap that wasn't good

ouch that actually hurt a lot you're gonna pay for that

pay for that shit alright this is done and I'm also anticipating guys that I'll

be dying quite a few times even on normal the older fireman gives a no joke

they're not to be messed around with so you know chances are I'm gonna die in

battle I'm just gonna quickly skip forward to that part where I'm at and

you know cut the video clip accordingly see you guys and watch all that boring

stuff yep yep yep no chance there

this isn't this place

and

all right so these guys are basically got tutoring me how to play the game use

the terrain to your advantage I know that let's see what this guy's reaches

okay make sure it doesn't get my Archer click this guy here just go to the

village real quick hey hey

all the village tries to help I'll take this important what did I get $5,000

that's that's awesome that's great support thank you

no you don't know you don't asshole no you don't all right let's do my archers

range damage just I can't get me

well this guy my main he needs to be a leveling up salt I'll save the finishing

move for him his guy will visit to another town another house

yeah lady would not know what the situation is thanks for informing us

all right you ready for this you're ready for this right here right here

come and get it boom yeah I do want to level up my lead characters as soon as

possible because if they fall in battle its I'm done it's gonna be game over

screen

and there we go nope I got a safe with somebody who appreciates sprite art this

game holds together to this date that I mean animation is a soul freaking cool I

mean I wish of course they were a little bit higher resolution but I delivered

they didn't put any filters on this game as you guys can see I'm playing in the

emulated version of SNES classic which I freaking love and I'm able to record a

full HD but I decided not to use any scout lines or any kind of

post-processing effects

all right let's see what can we do here but I can do this first

now we're gonna risk it now let's first see if I can take care of

this guy here yup he's gone yay levelled up my dude Allen is level 2

I don't even know how many characters are gonna stay after this first prologue

chapter but you know and we still want to optimize here make sure everybody

gets a go still gonna kill you bastard well guess who's gonna finish him out

boom let's level up Steve stain for sure

all right I'm gonna put defenses of my characters already have a turn I doubt

you'll be able to reach them and there you go nice now I can use my Archer

and you're done that's

so at first maybe a chapter two are gonna be like introductory then probably

won't pull Z much of challenge but after that your guests good as mine how hard

this game really is I don't know plated alright so I'm gonna put one guy in rage

of my opponents so I tested this out here to kind of lure him out that's one

of the tactics then you have in Fire Emblem and I'm sure all the good base

RPGs you want to get them out to fight on your ground on your terms don't

here we go that's the most useless bad that grenade I've ever seen these guys

cannot do any damage to your Hall what I do

you can go to town

oh I forgot this village has been destroyed solely useless

all right you can stand here my boy needs to

gain them levels hopefully this will bring them on to level two yes sweet yep

I want to have a balanced crew and make sure all of my characters level up

evenly and not that you have only one unit is like super advanced and the rest

of garbage you can't have that

your ass is grass buddy let's see here oh you can't reach time okay this guy

can alright so I gotta take care of that Archer I gotta get to Archer catch that

oh that's gonna be a yep Jeff must be off

that works

that works for me

nice my arches getting some levels

phantom oh I reckon as esteemed died oh he actually hit me not cool

and that's what you died yes got him sweet

all right how we gonna do this we obviously a sword fighter

I'm gonna risk my main guy no I'm not I'm actually gonna get my most powerful

character on this task of defeating the stage boss you damned idiots catch you

guys take these dancers nope they can

all right let's give it a turn to him while you're trying to heal yourself

that's not gonna happen Dan he has life oh here we go

yes my very first victory look till he's too strong kicked ass ass yep so far

very familiar gameplay and tactics conquer ah I remember before you used to

be C's that's how you end the stage but here it's conquer Father

Molina oh wow the King didn't die right away in this one excellent okay not like

every other firearm we'll get actually reached my father boy so happy reunion

cool

ha the father doesn't want to show his weak side

so the son the boy has come of age to take over

alright dad your ward is the law you said it it's gonna get done oh she's a

magic user sweet

no she must go home

and guess who's gonna ask worker I have a feeling

all right so I get ones the Sun for us to go to the border and secure the

border I guess

force I want to say forest for some reason I don't know it's like boars it's

a play on a Russian name

today's a loyal guard I'm gonna call the Boris what back what's the difference

yay victory all right I'm gonna save here there's a small village of a border

affair I'm burn all right this is where the next chapter will begin

Oh trouble

chapter 2 the princess of Bern what I'm asking is is where the princess is yes

captain the lady certain she was the princess has escaped okay mushiya tomboy

is like always out of her castle no ma'am so she's concerned for her

and also she sounds like a protector of Princess her personal bodyguard

so the princess is lost in this kingdom oh she's a dragon rider sweet princess

Guinevere

oh shit what the hell they kidnapped her what a sneaky vest okay here we go this

game of Thrones is kicking in here are you sure this is a good idea don't worry

Bern has plenty of enemies what an asshole I want to kill this guy already

he's gonna be my first target so we better sell ourselves to the highest

bidder

all right so this is where I'm supposed to meet my marks

excuse me I was in a hurry

while she's gonna ask for our help obviously

we've got to get the princess

unnecessary tango vents one no I got it help

somebody's giving chase I've been exposed see I can't turn back now no

matter what I've been exposed so I got a protector

no I will accompany you see all the girls they're like no I can help in some

capacity of course she's not gonna sit this one out

she can heal

and she wants to help

thank you for you kissing the race alright so I got I got the healer here I

got the spear guys

wow that's quite a lot of them

all right he's gonna go and check out the houses let's go

first let's see what we can see here

oh he's done and on critical head ass kicked

yeah I'm diggin Boris Boris is nasty he's like yo girl you get in my way and

get swept under the rug

got him

yep I have not been challenged yet my guys are just trampling those bandits

all right

calorie first it's like my hero

nope sorry against a mounted unit you're not gonna stand a chance

are you sneaky bastard

Oh Oh back up I guess these are the guys that was supposed to mean

DX who's our client this time

the fariah family of the nobles of lucia they yeah they look like mercenaries but

you know what noble mercenaries they're probably gonna

help out

all right cool Scouts did some reconnaissance yep these guys got a

hurry to battle well I'm pretty safe here so far that's actually quite a lot

to explore then leave this guy to do all the exploration some potions yep

now I got some potions and then we're gonna go to the villages ask around for

help now and back to business at hand

all right

take this asshole first boom you know against the sword you don't have a

chance sorry Marcus is too strong for you bro

too strong

critical ah kicked his ass yeah I'm diggin why so far we don't know

much about his personality what he's like but he's like just this young

chatter definitely knows how to use a sword nice a little dog

and let the ass-kicking continue

pain delivery commenced loan all right keep going forward

where's my healer

damn that's that's quite a crowd in there

let's see yeah we want to try to learn the loud

that's how do we check just get it out

no not this

iron blade okay so he's a sword wielder and this guy can reach out for him so

we're gonna place this guy right here

to access Beach Spears

here we go dude bow right in the head right in your freaking dome finished

nice

I got one more one more for you guys ah

let this guy stay in the background for now

yep move in move in for major Payne delivery

damn though Oh laughter my guy ward nice

the other students the mercenaries are proving to be quite a force

a hence

oh nice armor Slayer

that's really cool I got a sword and guess who's gonna get it my boy Roy

let's watch the cavalry here

I see some patches of force as I mentioned before guys you know forests

can always come in to our advantage I can hide in there we'll give my unit a

boost in evasion is always handy

all right all right all right you asked for it

by the way can this guy yes he can yes he can ah miss White's useless I

don't like you dude fly back home wherever he came from

yeah Alison dope attack

nice oh man

be out on the one life

boom crush that dude sculpt for sure

pretty bloody mess get out of here

well somebody's gonna level up real fast

the dodging skills right though what

it's dodging everything how fast is this guy yeah he's gonna dodge that one I'll

be asking a little too much

I'm gonna hide this dude utilize the forest

no that's a nicely chosen strategic spot there I think this guy will be pretty

safe in there besides you're gonna send in the cavalry right now to dispatch the

rest of them well first let's see what we can do with this

Archer be going down bro one more attack nope I guess not

I sort of wanna risk it but I don't cuz Pegasus knights always fall - archers

but this guy's health is really really low but you know what I'm not gonna risk

it I'm gonna Punk out of that

it's not gonna be fast enough to get my main guy his sword

my dealer

gotcha

yeah I definitely want to finish him off I definitely do

I guess is gonna do it

yeah I'm gonna use the iron sword it's weaker but this guy's almost dead I'm

gonna keep in mind that all my weapons have a finite amount of moves and after

which they break so I'm gonna use stronger weaponry only when I need to

ya better not risk it with a Pegasus man as a matter of fact let me just move

them a little bit here

an ass-kicking continues

yep you're done go home go home

ow that hurt you asshole I hope I don't die I hope I don't die

oh man poof a forest saved me another one alright the sword sire

let's give him

as gettin the sword

all right and we used up killing here and rush off into the combat you have

not been much help

all right I want to take this guy here bring him back a little bit and kill

them

it's sort of a waste at this point to use the healing power but at the same

time you know it gives my healer experience so she has to level up as

well it's not really trivial because yes he's away from danger but at the same

time she gets to power up as well

ah boom critical

you're done

man he's so hard to level up why is that well probably because he's a stronger

unit

no no you know all right my Pegasus and I got some action going on there

yay levelled up the award is no joke he's like dodging left and right Neela

style is like nope can get me

these guys liking behind

Boris

almost finished ow that hurt

my uses feeling hmm was very successful but you know we did some damage there

that counts for something right

all right Spears good beat swords you definitely done

you're definitely done

all right

you're welcome to try and attack me you ever good on health so far

pant pant and the dependent that's a catchy tune see I already recognized

little bit from the original game even though it's been so many years

okay okay

critical dodging it nice

I'm not gonna give this guy a chance to attack you gotta get rid of the archer

well I want to tell you guys saw that demolished him yeah so far it's a very

straightforward map not a lot of going on it says the strategy just making it

to the destination and just kicking everybody's ass on the way not a lot of

challenge came from the sub

bring my units

come on Roy such a slowpoke come on Roy you gotta make it

position our troops here getting ready for Roy to come in and save the day he

has a lance right

what is yet

I can't check his stuff

no I don't need those guys this on the turn damn

just when I thought luck was with me hoghead side first let me bring my

healer here just in case I'm gonna start hacking away at this guy

boom nice

can I finish him off you no good five

let's try it shit oh man that's not cool I got to

finish them off crap oh man it was a fatal mistake on my land yeah I got her

I got a rescue people's rescue this guy

kill them crap man he's gonna kill my Pegasus I hope

not

yeas done my Pegasus is done well he was a punk anyway good riddance

what I do what I do hope he doesn't in second

please don't attack him yep he's attacking him he's done oh thank you him

I saw oh man I was worried for a second kiss my party member is dead they don't

freaking come back let's get away from there

that's not risking finish this dude off let's be safe Oh what he dodged it done

finally

crews will bring you ill fit off well drop of consciousness there you've done

all right I think this is it now I have to seize this castle I'll

conquer in this game

Master Roy

got the lady from the basement

oh look at this beauty your highness Ellen oh you're right

why she didn't do jack shit I did all the heavy lifting she's being grateful

Mahaska name I am more what's yours

whenever

hold on we gotta sort this thing out

now of course he wants to speak with her he just rescued her

yes ham

what does it seem like she wants to be the pacifist find a good resolution to

his conflict no it's not gonna happen

now I'd say he's coming along with its plan cool

okay so this is good here I'm gonna utilize my awesome SNES feature here to

save my first gameplay and here we go we just had the prologue in the first

chapter of this game so far I'm enjoying it as expected the writing is cool

jumping back into the sprite animations and old-school electro graphic isn't

always fun I love it if you guys enjoyed this video please like and subscribe to

our channel in my retro series I'm gonna be doing more RPGs after this one end is

gonna be lots of fun thanks for watching guys I'll see you next time
