10 Foods That Used To Look Completely Different - Duration: 6:04.

• Lots of people spend time worrying about whether their produce is "genetically modified."

The answer is "yes" pretty much every time.

Basically every food you eat has been selectively bred and genetically modified, usually over

hundreds of years.

That's why they're edible and taste good.

If not, they would look and taste very different, and here are 10 examples of how.

10 – Watermelon • Ancient texts describing the watermelon

date back to over 5 thousand years ago.

• The ancient Egyptians began cultivating wild watermelons, even though at the time

they were mostly bitter, hard, and unappetizing.

Ripe melons at the time were yellow on the inside.

• Because they tasted bad, it's widely suspected that the actual water content of

the melons was the primary reason for the melons' cultivation.

They could be stored for a long period of time as a water source.

• It wasn't until about three millennia later that the watermelon was selectively

bred to the point that it was described as "sweet."

• That would also be about the time the melons started turning red, as the gene that

governs the sugar content also turns the melon red.

9 – Avocado • The avocado dates back to prehistoric

times, when animals were a lot larger.

And that's important, because the seed in an avocado is… kind of gigantic.

• Like many edible plants, the avocado survived in the wild by having its seed-bearing fruits

eaten by animals, then pooped out somewhere else where it could grow.

• But there are a small number of animals big enough to eat the avocado – and its

seed – whole.

So it should have died out as Earth's fauna began to shrink down and there were less animals

to eat it.

• Put simply, the avocado should not exist.

And the only reason it does is because humans like them.

The avocado became a staple food in Mexico, as well as Central and South America around

500 B.C.

• At the time, the avocado was more seed than flesh, so they and cultivated and bred

it to make the seed smaller and the edible parts bigger.

8 – Strawberry • The strawberry as we know it is actually

a cross-breed of the Virginia strawberry, and the Chilean strawberry.

• The Virginia strawberry was hardy and grew lots of fruits in any climate, but the

fruits were very small.

• The Chilean strawberry grew large fruits, but could only grow a few berries per plant

and was relatively fragile.

• Both plantswere migrated to France in the 1700s, where they were cross-bred into

a hybrid variety.

That resulting cross-breed is the common ancestor of probably every strawberry you've ever

eaten.

7 – Cucumber • The wild cucumber is related to the domestic

variety… except that the wild cucumber isn't at all edible.

• Wild cucumbers still exist, and unlike their oblong, fleshy cousins that we grow

in our gardens, wild cucumbers are just big, spiky seed pods that are effectively weeds.

There is no juicy flesh in the middle at all.

• The middle of the wild cucumber is four seeds in two pods, held in place by some stringy

vines.

6 – Carrot • Historically, the wild carrot is a tiny,

yellowish-white forked root that takes two years to fully cultivate.

• Through selective breeding and domestication, the carrot is now a huge, single orange root,

that grows annually.

• Without that domestication, there is basically no way humans could actually eat them, as

they were far too small, and the biannual growing season would never have been worth

it.

5 – Pumpkins • Pumpkins are like avocados, in that they

adapted to a world with gigantic mammals roaming around more than 10 thousand years ago.

• Most pumpkins – as well as squash and other gourds – were hard, softball-sized,

and unfit for human consumption at the time.

Many were actually toxic.

Only larger mammals like mammoths could stomach the toxicity.

• Humans actually started cultivating pumpkins as containers and floatation devices.

It wasn't until centuries later that they started breeding the toxicity out of them

and using them as a food source.

4– Kale • Kale, broccoli, brussels sprouts and cauliflower

are actually all descended from a common ancestor – cabbage.

• A wild cabbage grown in Greek and Roman gardens 2 thousand years ago was cross-bred

and mutated into a number of different varieties.

• Cabbages with large flower buds resulted in broccoli and cauliflower.

Genetic changes over time turned cauliflower white, and gave broccoli a long stem.

• Kale results from a mutation in that ancient cabbage that gave the plant long, curly leaves.

Farmers isolated that mutation and started breeding cabbage that showed that particular

characteristic.

• The result of those ancient farmers isolating that genetic mutation was the plant we now

know as kale.

• So technically, kale is, by definition, one of the world's oldest GMO foods.

3 –Grapefruit • The original grapefruit dates back to

Barbados in the 17th century.

The sweet orange and pomelo were both introduced to the region from Asia around the same time,

and they cross-pollinated, creating the hybrid fruit that was the grapefruit.

• But those early grapefruits had white or light pink flesh. Most of the red grapefruit

you eat is literally an INVENTION.

• The "Ruby Red" grapefruit was simply a marketing term, that was granted a patent

in 1929.

• Later versions of the grapefruit were made sweeter and redder by forcefully mutating

them with ionized radiation.

2 - Eggplant • The eggplant – the actual one, not the

emoji – has some pretty uniform characteristics.

It's oblong, dark purple or black, and relatively thick.

• But historically, they used to come in a variety of colors, like white, blue, lighter

shades of purple, and even yellow.

• They were much, much smaller, and they had a "spine" running through the fruits,

not unlike an apple core.

1 - Bananas • Bananas are one of the earliest cultivated

fruits, dating back to about 8,000 B.C.

• And even back then, they knew how to use selective breeding to grow fruits that were

easier to eat.

• See, the wild banana was short, green, and absolutely PACKED with seeds, making it

impossible to eat the way we eat bananas today.

• Through thousands of years of cultivation, the seed content was reduced, and the fruit

size increased, eventually resulting in the bananas we know

and love today.

Broken Pieces and Duties - The Project List - Duration: 9:37.

Hi I'm Mike and it's the 1st day of spring, although you might not know it if you look

outside and today we get to more of the spring time duties that are waiting for us, and when

I say dooty, I mean piles of it and its only the beginning, waiting for us on the project

list, on our Wyoming Life

Welcome to our Wyoming life, if you've been

here before, thanks for coming back and if you are new here, be sure to hit the subscribe

button and join us as we explore the ranch life and escape the ordinary.

Today we get a start on a job around there that needs done almost constantly, the removal

of manure.

We aren't going to be shoveling anything, not yet anyway, we will be using the tractor

today to start cleaning out the heifer corral, and we have to get going on it pretty quick,

because we actually have something we don't have to many of around here and that today

is a limited amount of time that we can actually work on it today.

More on that later though.

Also today, I am going to take you out with me as we check on our new arrivals here on

the ranch.

Our newest calves, the twins dubbed by Mackenzie as Thing 1 and Thing 2, she's been reading

Dr Suess lately and I'll give you one guess what her favorite book is.

We are going to take a look at the heifers calves up to this point and our surprise calf

in the field.

In addition, it's a leg day for the peacock today and we are going to head down in the

basement and put his prosthetic leg back on him after making a minor adjustment to it.

But as I said, the clock is ticking on our big project for today, cleaning out the heifer

corral and we need to get to it.

Today we are going to use the John Deere 6410 tractor, its currently equipped with a front-end

loader bucket and a box blade scraper on the back.

Let's get it going.

Ok, that is the lock for the garage door here in the sales barn, slid right out of there,

another thing for the project list later on, and hopefully not an omen on how today is

going to go.

Tick tock, time to go to work.

The reason we are in such a hurry to get started on this project is because its going to warm

up today and this inch or so of snow that we got last night is going to melt.

That water is going to make our corral soggy and driving around in there with a tractor

isn't such a good idea, we don't want to tear up the dirt any more than we have

to.

So we are going to try to get a chuck of this done this morning.

Once it gets too wet we will quit but for now the ground is still pretty solid and we

can get right to it.

Most of this material we will be removing from this corral today is straw bedding that

has been laid in here.

I didn't plan or build this corral but one of the bad things about it is that it is right

in the way of a bunch of drainage.

Every thaw we have causes snow to melt and water to move through here.

We don't want our heifers dealing with all that, so we have been constantly adding straw

and bedding material in here for them, building up a portion of the corral.

Now its time to get that out.

As they start to have their calves any material that can hold bacteria or even soak up excess

water isn't good for them.

Their moms will bed them down in this stuff but in reality, at this point I'd rather

have them on clean dry material.

Getting this out of here is the first step.

The heifers and their calves have been moved to our lower corral, a clean alternative to

this one for right now and that gives us the space to move and get this one cleaned out.

Theres not much to it, using the tractor we scoop and dump all the wet dirty straw into

piles.

These piles will be turned into compost to be used around the ranch and also spread on

hay fields, adding organic material back into the soil.

Each scoop of this bucket holds about 3 and 1/2 yards of material but what really matters

here is the weight, each full load of this wet heavy stuff can weight up to a ton and

moving it is careful work.

Any big bounces or jarring movements could actually break the loader, so slow is the

tempo.

Not the best thing to hear when you are trying to beat the clock.

As each load is moved we find plenty of still frozen junk underneath but that's ok.

Getting the straw and manure off the top will help it melt.

This will become my morning ritual for the next couple of days as we are expecting temperatures

below freezing at night and up into the 40s during the day for the next few days.

Eventually though the weather catches up to us.

I'm never going to complain about sunshine but there are days when I feel backwards wishing

it would stay cooler just a bit longer.

Its time to give up before we cause more damage to the ground that we will just end up having

to repair anyway and its time to head back and park this thing and move on to our next

project.

Calving season is upon us, although not much is happening right now.

Cows and even the heifers are holding on to their calves a little longer than we expected,

we cant really induce labor so it's a waiting game.

In the meantime we continue to check cows on a regular schedule, right now about very

4 hours during the daylight hours.

I check them all again about 10pm and then they are on their own until first light.

As we move into more active calving that will turn into every 4 hours all day and night

long, and sometimes even more frequent if we have bad weather.

Fun times.

Our newest set of calves are the twins, Thing 1 and thing 2.

They were both born 5 days ago and I'm happy to say are doing well.

They have been with their mom this whole time and she has been able to take care of both

of them.

They started out in the barn and now we allow them to wander in the corrals and alleys.

We weren't quite sure about her ability to take care of both of them and I don't

think I would trust her out to pasture, but here in the corral where she cant wander too

far from them everything seems fine.

Keeping them both with her in the corral saves us money on milk for them that we would have

to purchase.

Not far from them are the heifers and their calves.

Still sitting at 3, the oldest now 16 days old.

All of them are healthy and happy, full of spit and vineagar.

Out in the pasture we have our last calf of this season so far, her and her mom are both

doing great.

6 calves so far out of 160 some we are expecting, a small dent has been made but we still have

a long ways to go and I hope you are here with us as we move forward.

The last thing on our list for today is to get the peacocks leg back on him, a couple

of months ago he lost a portion of his leg to frostbite.

A viewer came forward with a solution and printed him a prosthetic leg which we have

been training him on for a while now.

He wears the leg for a couple of days and then we take it off and give him a break for

couple of days.

Today its time to put it back on him, but first we are going to modify it just a bit.

The toes on the foot of the leg are a little long, he tends to trip over them when he walks

so we are going to first measure his toes on his other foot and then match the length

on the prosthetic.

Its plastic so we can use a grinder to take off about a half and inch on each toe, hopefully

giving him a little bit more comfortable walking experience.

When its time to put the leg back on him he is pretty calm about it, he has gotten used

to putting it on and taking it off and he just lays right now for me to get him put

together.

Originally when we put on the leg we used zip ties to hold it on his stub, then we tried

Velcro straps, which didn't really work, the leg tended to slip around too much and

would loosen over time, so for now we are back to the zip ties while we figure out a

better solution.

Another issue that we are dealing with is the fact that he sometimes gets a little too

comfortable with the new leg and tries to fly with it on, which I don't think is too

much of a problem for him, aside the fact that he is in a room and not outside.

Landing seems to be the hardest part with a fake leg, and he tends to wipe out each

landing.

That's another thing we are going to have to address when we move him from the basement

back out to the real world.

After getting his new leg on, then he normally takes a few minutes to adjust to it again.

He will just stand like a statue and not move too much as he remembers how it feels and

what it does.

But soon he is ready to go, but this time not gracefully.

And not with good results.

After flying away, he landed on his new leg and the force snapped it into two pieces.

That was short lived today, and I guess we are going back to the drawing board to make

a more sturdy leg for him, and maybe a better way to attach it.

But he is fine, unhurt and ready to find his girlfriend, who is now his roommate, we might

have to perform a little marriage ceremony.

That's is for today, of course there is still plenty to do but we got a good start

on getting the corral cleaned out.

One more morning on it and I can have it done and we can start Erin's composting project,

which she is going to definitely need.

Calving will continue, soon hopefully and we hope that you are able to continue to join

us as we bring new life to the ranch and once we start, it goes, our record is 12 calves

in one day and I'm sure we will break that.

Make sure to find us on facebook and Instagram to follow along with the ranch with almost

daily updates.

Subscribe and explore the ranch life and escape the ordinary.

Erin is back in the kitchen this week bringing you some wonderful ranch style cooking on

Thursday and I will see you again on Sunday morning for our regular ranch video

The BEST Draft Class in NBA History - Duration: 4:38.

The 2018 NBA draft class is supposed to be amazing.

There have been some pretty good draft classes and some pretty bad draft classes, but which

draft class was the best draft class in NBA history?

What is up dudes, dudettes, ballers, players.

It's ya boi MJ.

Today I wanna talk about why the 1996 draft class is the Best Draft Class in NBA history.

Let's get that Kobe LeBron MJ debate started in the comment section.

It's been a while since I've done one of these so let me know if you wanna see more.

I saw Andy Hoops do a worst draft class video and got inspired so let's get into it.

Yeah I said it, the 1996 draft class with Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, and Steve Nash

is better than the 2003 draft class with LeBron, Melo, and Wade AND is better than the 1984

draft with Michael Jordan, Hakeem, and Charles Barkley.

While there are so many debates on who's the better player between Kobe, LeBron, and

Jordan, we are talking about the draft class as a whole.

But I still wanna see who you think is the GOAT so let me know in the comment section.

So about the draft class as a whole, the 1996 draft class had a combined 68 All-Star appearances

and 9 titles.

The 1984 draft class had 53 all-star appearances and 9 titles while the 2003 draft class has

52 all star appearances and 9 titles.

The 2003 draft class is automatically eliminated because of the 42nd pick ZaZa Pacheapshot.

Alright jokes aside, the 1996 draft class edges out the other classes because of depth.

Not only did the class have Kobe, AI, and Steve Nash, but it also had Ray Allen, Stephen

Marbury, Antoine Walker, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Marcus Camby, Peja Stojakavic, Big Z, and

Jermaine O'Neal who were all All Stars and Ben Wallace who was undrafted.

Ray Allen and Peja are some of the best shooters of all time and having these many All Stars

in one draft is crazy, but these cases got a bunch of designs of talented players so

check out athletics cases for some extra layers of protection.

The 1984 draft class had MJ, Hakeem, Barkley, and John Stockton, and Michael Turpin.

Yeah Michael Turpin, a bust.

They only had 3 other All-Stars that includes a defensive player of the year Alvin Robertson,

which gives them 7 in total, but that's small compared to 12 All Stars in the 1996

draft class.

Just the accumulation of talent in the 1996 draft class makes them better.

It's important to assess the amount of talent of each player which is pretty hard to do

since everyone has their own opinions and metrics for comparing.

I'll make the statement that the 1984 draft class might have have more talent per All-Star

because the class had 39 ALL-NBA seasons compared to only 30 for the 1996 class.

But, the 1996 draft class had more talent per player in the draft, simply because there

is more depth.

The 2003 draft class is still adding to the resume with LeBron leading the charge.

They have 9 All-Stars that include LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Melo, Mo Williams, David West,

Chris Kaman, Kyle Korver, and Josh Howard, but that's still not enough to beat the

1996 draft and they got Darko Milicic, a bust, but he has a ring, one more than Melo.

All the other draft classes in comparison don't measure up to these 3.

The 1996 draft class just has so much talent.

But just think, MJ, Kobe, and LeBron were all part of some legendary draft classes and

came into the league with so much talent around them.

But at the end of the day, the 1996 draft class is the best draft class in NBA history.

But what do you think?

Do you agree?

Who's the GOAT?

Lemme know in the comments down below.

Drop a like if you like this video.

Every like is a wish for a legendary draft class for next year.

UNFOLDING: Paul Ryan Is FUNDING Dems' HOLY GRAIL – Doesn't Care If He's FIRED For It! - Duration: 5:42.

UNFOLDING: Paul Ryan Is FUNDING Dems' HOLY GRAIL – Doesn't Care If He's FIRED For

It!

And once again those of us on the right side of the political spectrum, and those of us

who believe in the rule of law along with our nation's sovereignty are being trampled

on by the RINO Republicans we have elected into office.

We are now getting various reports that the Republican leadership in Congress is planning

to fully fund sanctuary cities in the "must-pass" spending bill which will be making its way

through Congress next week, giving Democrats a huge victory while at the same time giving

us conservatives who put them in power a big kick in the face.

If the GOP leadership does go through with this stunt it is sure to cause a ripple effect

which will make them pay the price in the 2018 midterms.

Which would be convenient for them because instead of placing the blame squarely on themselves

they will shift the blame to President Trump, who they clearly don't support.

If we all can recall within his first few weeks in office, President Trump signed an

executive order which was meant to strip federal grants from cities that harbor illegal immigrants.

An activist federal judge then proceeded to block the president's order by arguing that

the administration lacks the legal authority to cut funding that Congress had previously

appropriated.

The battle between the administration and federal courts is still ongoing, but Congress

has the means to end the debate, given that it has the "power of the purse."

But just like they never cared to defund Obamacare, they don't care to defund sanctuary cities.

Which in turn puts our citizens more at risk, since we have no idea who these people living

in these cities really are.

Just ask the Steinle family.

In addition, early drafts of the spending bill, which are being kept under "lock and

key," for obvious reasons are said to include Planned Parenthood funding, Obamacare subsidies,

gun control legislation, a large tax on internet sales, and many other policies which go against

Republican campaign promises, platform and principles.

Here is more information on this spending bill via The Daily Caller:

'Republican leadership is going to fund sanctuary cities in the must-pass spending

bill next week, giving Democrats a huge victory while simultaneously undercutting conservatives

who put them in power, a senior GOP aide told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

The White House is arguably more serious about immigration policy than any other campaign

promise President Donald Trump made in 2016.

Within his first few weeks in office, Trump signed an executive order in January 2017

to strip federal grants from cities that harbor illegal immigrants.

A federal judge blocked the president's move that November, arguing that the administration

did not have the legal authority to cut funding that Congress had already appropriated.

The battle between the administration and federal courts is still ongoing, but Congress

has the means to end the debate, given that it has the "power of the purse."

Conservatives in Congress, along with administration officials, are currently lobbying leadership

to stop funding sanctuary cities.

The argument is if Congress stops appropriating the money for these federal grants in the

spending bill, the court's claim is undercut and the administration and Republicans could

claim a victory.

The government shelled out roughly $27 billion in federal grants in 2016 alone, according

to American Transparency.

The president himself called on Congress March 10 to stop giving money to cities outright

disobeying federal immigration laws.

"I'm calling on Congress to stop funding sanctuary cities so we can save American lives.

The funding bill should not give precious and massive tax payer grants to cities aiding

and abetting criminals," Trump said at the rally for failed Republican congressional

candidate Rick Saccone.

"It's what they do."

Funding sanctuary cities is not the only thing that will rile up conservatives in the omnibus

bill, which lawmakers must agree on by the hard March 23 deadline.

Early drafts of the spending bill, which are being kept under "lock and key," a GOP

aide told TheDCNF, include Planned Parenthood funding, Obamacare subsidies, gun control

legislation, a large tax on internet sales, and a host of other policies completely against

Republican campaign promises.

"This is why guys like Rick Saccone lose.

The expectations for Republicans to maintain control ought to be very low.

Republicans want to run on this platform of tax cuts and 'my name is not Nancy" national

grassroots conservative organization ForAmerica President David Bozell told TheDCNF.

"How much currency does the 'we aren't Pelosi' have anymore?

This is not 2012.

These are base races.

You have to have your base energized for you, and giving Democrats everything they want

is going to keep base voters at home."

"There is nothing preventing Republicans from being on offense on all of the key issues,

like immigration, Obamacare, Planned Parenthood — all of them," Bozell told TheDCNF.

"You are talking about trillions of dollars that our representatives are spending under

the cover of darkness.

Their number one responsibility is to be stewards of taxpayer dollars."

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan's office did not respond to requests for comment as

to whether or not leadership is planning on allocating funds for sanctuary cities.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's office did not immediately respond to requests

for comment.'

Nintendo Switch Nindies Showcase - Top Best 12 Games - Duration: 6:17.

hi everybody and welcome to get indie gaming earlier today March 20th Nintendo

revealed their latest nin DS direct showcase an event that functions in a

similar fashion to a standard Nintendo Direct although with a specific focus on

indie games from a number of publishers while perhaps not full of colossal

announcements in this video we cover what we think are the 12 best looking

games featured at the event in easy to digest bite-sized pieces in no

particular order and first up coming this summer fantasy strike looks like a

typical fighting game with players facing each other one on one with each

of them having their own skill sets and special abilities Nintendo described the

game as more of a strategy fighter than a classic button masher

which means players will need to learn how to put their skills to best used to

beat their opponents reigns and its sequel reigns Her Majesty will launch

like many others this spring and will come in a single package called reins

kings and queens the game will also pour across to the switch with a new co-op

offering that's a console exclusive using a tinder swipe left swipe right

mechanic you make decisions on how to rule your kingdom already out on a PC

Mac and mobiles we can see the combined package and co-op mode being a nice

little draw and becoming something of a cult hits for the console in what the

team behind messenger are calling an open love letter to the 8-bit and 16-bit

era with their chip tune and tight controls what we have here is set to be

an epic ninja adventure with a memorable cast of villains bosses and associates

fine there's also an element of shovel knight about it too and we're very happy

to see this one coming to launch at some time this summer first launched in 2015

the Banner Saga series 3 will land on the switch this summer alongside the

original and its sequel Nintendo also announced the game will first launch on

a switch before going out to other platforms mixing turn-based tactical

combat with a multi-layered story the Banner Saga series 3 was successfully

funded by Kickstarter gaining more than $400,000 in March of last year the game

will feature over 40 characters permadeath and progress will carry on

this year first out back in 2012 mark of the ninja initially had a high level of

praise when it first came out on the Xbox Live Arcade and was originally

punked and was originally published by Microsoft Studios no date was given for

the launch although it's the first time the game has been available on other

consoles it's a traditional stealth type game

where you must make your way across the map without making a sound the twist

comes in the platforming sections with many collectables and the different

route options you can take as you progress across the level in pode to

looking to be a highly promising co-op exploration puzzler mode is inspired by

a Norwegian art and culture and from the trailer looks to offer a beautiful

environment with captivating gameplay coming from henchmen and good mode is

slated as another spring launch while we said in no particular order one of the

most exciting announcements from today's show was the news that lumens remastered

is heading to the console with launch date sometime this coming spring with

the original creator back on board the game will make use of the joy cons and

their tactile feedback from their Rumble units as a puzzler this one first

launched back on the PSP in 2004 although we hope this new version here

will be as addictive and as downright fun as the original from the team at

History of Disneyland Anniversaries - Vintage Disneyland - Duration: 13:16.

Hey everyone!

In honor of our two year anniversary, we wanted to make a video where we talk about every

anniversary that Disneyland has celebrated since it's opening in 1955!

Let's start with Disneyland's tenth anniversary, the "Tencennial".

Disneyland welcomed its first decade with a year-long celebration.

It included park-wide decorations, special events throughout the year and a grand parade

called Fantasy on Parade which was thought of as a "show on parade" in which the

various floats would occasionally stop along the parade route to perform dances and routines

for guests.

Also to represent the park during the year, the role of the Disneyland Ambassador was

created by Jack Linquist and tour guide, Julie Reihm was selected as the first.

She spent the year traveling throughout the world as the official emissary of Disneyland

park.

There was also a special episode of "The Wonderful World of Disney" which featured

Walt Disney and Julie Reihm showing viewers plans for upcoming attractions like "It's

a Small World", "Pirates of the Caribbean", and the "Haunted Mansion".

Then we could see many Disney characters celebrating with a show in front of Sleeping Beauty's

Castle including Disney's newest member Mary Poppins and a giant birthday cake with

dancing candles singing the "anniversary song".

Next, Walt Disney described a brief history of the construction of the park, followed

by a tour of some of the attractions at the time, including Matterhorn Bobsleds, Jungle

Cruise, the Flying Saucers, the Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland and the Walt Disney's

Enchanted Tiki Room.

Next comes Disneyland's 20th anniversary which began a 15-month salute to the United

States Bicentennial with the most elaborate parade in the park's history.

This parade was called "America on Parade" and it featured 50 floats and 150 giant performers

that were at least 8 feet tall.

Also, an all-new red, white and blue fireworks spectacular called "Fantasy in the Sky"

debuted.

Disneyland welcomed back Christine Vess Watkins and her cousin, Michael Schwartner, who, at

ages five and seven, had been the first guests to enter the gates on July 17, 1955.

Disneyland's 25th anniversary was kicked off with a pre-parade show at the Tournament

of Roses on New Year's Day in Pasadena.

There were many special parades and shows that followed for the rest of the year, but

the main event was the television special "Kraft Salutes Disneyland's 25th Anniversary".

This was filmed throughout Disneyland and it followed the story of a young boy on his

first ever trip to the happiest place on Earth.

While there, he encounters many interesting characters (All played by Danny Kaye) who

tell him various tidbits on the park's history.

Musical numbers by Donny Osmond, Michael Jackson, and Danny Kaye as well as group sing-alongs

that include many actual Disneyland cast members and guests!

And in April, the Family Reunion Night Celebration brought out several famous celebrities, including

Michael Jackson, Fred MacMurray, Ernest Borgnine as well as the Carpenters, Ray Bradbury and

Elliot Gould.

On July 17th, the actual 25th anniversary of the park's opening, Disneyland was open

for a 25-hour party that lasted from midnight going into July 17 until 1 a.m. July 18.

Disneyland's 30th anniversary is probably one of the most talked about anniversary celebrations.

The Gift-Giver Extraordinaire Machine Promotion was one of the special things about this anniversary.

During that year, every 30th guest coming into the park received a prize when they entered

the front gate, for the more elaborate prizes, up to and including a new car, selected winners

would get to spin the Gift-Giver Machine located in the Hub.

Again, Disneyland stayed open for a full 24-hour special party.

The admission price for this special event was $30.

During the event, guests received a limited edition lithograph poster of Mickey and Minnie

in front of the castle by legendary artist Charles Boyer.

The entertainment was amazing featuring bands like , Sister Sledge and a special 4 a.m.

Main Street Electrical Parade down Main Street!

Also starting this year, Disneyland began operating 365 days a year, before this the

park was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays in the off-season.

Then Disneyland celebrated its 35th anniversary with a new parade called "Party Gras"

which featured New Orleans-style floats, 40-foot-tall balloons of Disney characters and many special

performers!

Dancers threw beads to the audience along with commemorative 35th-anniversary coins

and then brought guests into the street for a conga line before showering them with confetti.

Also, it brought us, the Dream Machine, which gave some lucky guest the opportunity to win

one of many prizes like Walt Disney Home videos, plush toys, posters, coins, collector pins

or even a new car!

Videopolis in Fantasyland changed from a teen dance venue to an outdoor musical theater

for stage shows which featured One Man's Dream, a musical about the achievements of

Walt Disney and Dick Tracy Starring in Diamond Double-Cross

Disneyland's 40 years of Adventure came, and with it, Indiana Jones Adventure was opened.

Designed through the collaborate effort of George Lucas and Walt Disney Imagineering,

Indiana Jones Adventure takes guests on a subterranean archaeological tour through the

Temple of the Forbidden Eye with Indiana Jones.

On July 17, a time capsule was buried in the Sleeping Beauty Castle forecourt containing

lots items like cast member name tags, Indiana Jones Adventure Opening Day Memorabilia, lots

of Disney pins, 1995 Disney Dollars, a 1995 Disneyland map, lots of 40th anniversary items,

a list of cast members who submitted Ideas for the "Time Castle" , a Picture of Mickey

Mouse and Minnie Mouse Taking Last Ride on Skyway and even a ring, made by Leonard Russo,

that has the 40th anniversary logo and includes 8 diamonds, that represent the 80th anniversary

of Disneyland, which is when the Time Castle is supposed to be opened and much more!

Also, The dance club Videopolis was transformed into Fantasyland Theatre, featuring the all-new

stage show "The Spirit of Pocahontas" which by the way was included inside the time

castle in the form of a laserdisc.

That's right, laserdisc.

You might wonder how in the world is anybody going to watch that?

Well, they included a laser disc player inside the capsule too!

And the Disneyland Resort expanded to include the Disneyland Hotel's next-door neighbor,

the Pan Pacific Hotel, which was transformed into the Disneyland Pacific Hotel, later Disney's

Paradise Pier Hotel.

5 years later the year 2000 was here, and Disneyland had to celebrate its 45th anniversary

with a dazzling new fireworks spectacular called "Believe…

There's Magic in the Stars" and the "45 Years of Magic Parade" Which featured lots

of Disney Characters like, the three little pigs, Tarzan, Roger Rabbit, Max and much more.

This parade also had some characters and floats from Fantasia 2000.

Actually, Michael Eisner wanted the parade's soundtrack to be "Pomp and Circumstance"

by Sir Edward Elgar, just like in the Noah's Ark chapter of Fantasia 2000, because it reminded

him of his son Eric's college graduation and he loved it.

But Disney Entertainment thought that it might not go over well with guests and so "Pomp

and Circumstance" was out and it was replaced by a medley of Disney songs.

Also at each performance, 70 lucky park guests were chosen to join the parade.

Donning tutus and animal hats, these "guest stars" provide a bit of comic relief down

the entire parade route.

On this year, The only original Tomorrowland attraction left from park opening, Autopia,

was also reimagined.

Combining the old Fantasyland and Tomorrowland attractions, young drivers now cruised along

a modern highway through scenic forests and past lakes and ponds.

And then the 50th anniversary came and it was amazing!

The Happiest Homecoming on Earth kicked off with an amazing event where footage of Walt's

original dedication speech was broadcast on large monitors around the resort, and another,

located in Town Square near where Walt originally stood 50 years earlier to make his historic

proclamation, the speech was shown in its entirety followed by a video montage of historic

Disneyland footage.

The ceremony also included fireworks and speeches from Julie Andrews, who was the official ambassador

for the 50th-anniversary celebrations, and Art Linkletter, who celebrated his 93rd birthday

that day and had spent his 43rd birthday hosting the originally televised opening day festivities.

Guests were presented with golden Mickey Mouse ears at the park's entrance and lots of

characters came to celebrate!

Hidden Mickeys got a makeover, as a special anniversary edition scavenger hunt challenged

guests to find 50 golden ears.

The original attractions that opened with Disneyland had one of their ride vehicles

painted gold for the celebration.

Sleeping Beauty Castle was beautifully transformed with a 50th-anniversary logo and even some

crowns!

Of course, the celebration also had an all-new fireworks show called, "Remember…

Dreams come true" and the amazing "Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams," featuring one

of the largest casts of Disney characters ever assembled.

Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years Attraction that opened in the Opera House There are displays

of design artwork and models, ticket books and name tags, a large, new scale model of

Disneyland as it appeared on opening day, and a 17-minute humorous film look at the

50 years with Steve Martin (who as a young man worked at Disneyland in the Magic Shop)

and Donald Duck.

Also, this was the first time that other parks joined Disneyland in its celebration!

Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disney, and Disneyland Paris joined the celebration by announcing

new rides and makeovers, and in the case of Hong Kong Disneyland a completely new resort!

And as a plus Disneyland was honored with its very own star on the Hollywood Walk of

Fame!!

The most recent and spectacular anniversary celebration was the 60th Diamond Celebration

where both Sleeping Beauty Castle and the Carthay Circle Theatre at Disney California

Adventure were turned into the most sparkling and gleaming places you ever saw!

The whole park was turned into diamonds.

Peter Pan's Flight and the Matterhorn Bobsleds were reimagined with new scenes and effects,

and we even got a new Harold!

More importantly, the Hat Box Ghost returned to the Haunted Mansion after a loooong vacation!

World of Color-Celebrate! was debuted, and it celebrated Walt Disney and his determination

to make his dream of Disneyland the fantastical reality that it is.

The show included both animated and live-action footage, fountains, lasers, special effects,

and, of course, music.

With Neil Patrick Harris and Mickey Mouse as it's hosts, this World of Color edition

was amazing!

Disneyland Forever fireworks was another incredible show that was created for this anniversary.

During the show, video and images were projected on Sleeping Beauty Castle, the buildings along

Main Street USA, the Matterhorn, the facade of It's a Small World, and along the Rivers

of America on the water screens from Fantasmic.

And we saved the best for last, "paint the night" parade!

A breathtaking state-of-the-art nighttime parade that combines innovative floats, awe-inspiring

costumes, and special effects, and more than 1.5 million LED lights illuminating Main Street,

U.S.A. like you never saw before!

The parade featured Mickey Mouse, front, and center, "painting the night" with a little

help from the power of Tinker Bell's pixie dust.

Favorite characters from Monsters, Inc., Cars, Toy Story, Frozen, and more beloved Disney

films were part of the magic.

Luckily this parade will be back very soon in Disneyland!

How many of this anniversaries were you able to experience?

The Next Governor of Illinois? It's Anybody's Guess | NYT - Duration: 3:15.

"I'm Chris Kennedy."

"My name is J.B. Pritzker."

"My name is Jeanne Ives."

A Kennedy,

a billionaire

and a right-wing conservative in a very blue state.

These are a few of the candidates

for governor of Illinois.

They are attempting to unseat this man.

"I'm Bruce Rauner, governor of the great state of Illinois."

Rauner, a Republican, is now one of the most vulnerable

incumbents facing election this year.

Here are the main players

and a look at how this race has been playing out.

This is Democrat J.B. Pritzker.

He's a billionaire heir to the Hyatt Hotel fortune

and the current frontrunner.

"J.B. is the one I trust to fight for women, children

and families all across Illinois."

"As Democrats, we need to come together.

Let's back the candidate ready to lead Illinois.

That's J.B."

But his campaign took a hit when racially insensitive comments

he made in 2008 to a wiretapped politician leaked to the press.

In this audio, Pritzker is advising

then-Governor Rod Blagojevich

on who should fill the U.S. Senate seat

vacated by Barack Obama after he won the presidency.

"I got a great idea for you though: Jesse White.

Even though I know you guys aren't like,

you know, bosom buddies or anything,

it covers you on the African-American thing."

"Correct."

Pritzker apologized.

"On that call I was not my best self.

I can be better. I have been better.

And I can do better."

The Republican side has also seen its share of controversy.

That's candidate Jeanne Ives.

And this is one of her attack ads on Rauner.

"We want to say thank you."

"Thank you, Bruce Rauner."

"Thank you for signing legislation

that lets me use the girls' bathroom."

"Thank you for making all Illinois families pay for my abortions."

Critics called it racist, sexist and homophobic.

Ives disagreed.

"That's exactly what typically a transgender man looks like."

"No, it's not."

"Sir, with all due respect.

Look, I've had them show up at my door."

Another Democratic hopeful is Chris Kennedy,

the son of former Senator Robert Kennedy.

"50 years ago, Chris Kennedy's father, Robert F. Kennedy,

launched a campaign for president

based upon the principles of peace,

justice and compassion for those who suffer."

Kennedy, like Pritzker and Rauner, is wealthy.

But unlike the others, Kennedy is part of

a powerful political dynasty.

Then there's Democrat Daniel Biss,

a former math professor with an income of $35,000.

He's using his lack of wealth as a weapon,

producing ads that portray Kennedy and Pritzker

as superrich and out of touch.

Rauner has become increasingly unpopular in Illinois —

a typically Democratic state.

Can he hold off his toughest and richest competition yet?

DIY Edible Pudding Slime! - Duration: 5:34.

hey guys it's Hashtag Zoe and welcome back to my channel. so for today's video I'm gonna

be making, diy edible pudding slime. the things you will need are 1/4 a cup of pudding so

this is instant pudding mix I have vanilla and chocolate because I'm gonna

be making both because equality you're also going to need 1 cup of cornstarch

and 1/3 cup of warm water and that's literally all you need so I have my

water here and I have my cornstarch and I have my instant pudding mix and I have

my bowls my measuring cups and my spoons let's do it so this slime is actually

the first time I've made that's actually edible and I don't know how good it's

gonna be this is my first try making it so let's just hope for the best I will

try it after but well you're gonna have to wait and see till the end of video to

find out how good it tastes ok guys so I'm gonna be starting with the vanilla

one I feel like that would be nice let's do it ok so I'm just gonna take a

set of bag and you're gonna be needing 1/4 a cup of the instant pudding mix

this smells like cake batter ok guys I'm just gonna be pouring this in this is a

1/4 of a cup so we're just gonna be putting that into the bowl and then

you're gonna be needing 1 cup of cornstarch keep in mind guys that you're

not going to be using the entire cup of cornstarch at once you're gonna be kind

of pouring it in a little bit at a time so we're just gonna pour a little bit in

now then the final ingredient is just warm water so I have 1/3 cup in here and

we're gonna pour that in so now we're just gonna be mixing these ingredients

together

so now that it's like a chunky consistency we're gonna be adding some

more cornstarch and then mixing that in and so this is the same from the one

full cup before we're just adding it in small time okay so at first it's gonna

look really dry but it's not so don't give up keep doing it because on this

channel we never give up on our dreams so we're going to be adding the rest of

the cornstarch in here and then mixing it together and then once it's like kind

of forming one we're gonna be mixing it with our hands so now I'm just gonna be

picking it up and mixing it smashing it with my hands and you're just gonna have

to knead it for as long as you need I heard that it generally takes about

two to three minutes so that's what we're gonna do and I will let you guys

know a few moments later all right guys so I made the vanilla one and the

chocolate one the chocolate one is definitely a more wet if that makes

sense this one feels more like play-doh I made

them the same way so I don't really know maybe it's like the flavor difference

like the difference in the chemicals in the flavor I don't really know I'm not a

scientist but I know that these honestly feel really cool and this is DIY that I

fit in a hundred percent feel that so thanks

so I'm gonna roll this out and see the art I can make with it fun okay so I'm

making this very long because I'm gonna be making the pooh emoji but this

doesn't really look like an emoji right now so I'm just gonna try my best okay

okay guys I tried to make a pooh emoji but this does not look like the emoji at

all this is kind of this kind of looks like what my dog Malibu left in the

backyard that's all I have to say anyway let's make an ice cream cone now okay

guys so the next thing I'm gonna be making is a pudding slime ice cream cone

so I have a cone right here and I'm trying to use self-control and not eat

the cone I've ruled the chocolate one and the vanilla one out and now I'm just

gonna be twisting them together so it's swirl ice cream and then I'm gonna be

putting it on my code night so now I put some in and then I'm gonna make the top

swirly thing so it's gonna look really cool

okay guys so this is my slime pudding slime ice cream honestly this looks

really good I'm not gonna lie now I really want ice cream it's kinda going

sideways fix that I'm actually proud of this wait okay okay so I ripped this

little piece from the back and I'm just gonna take a taste test I put the two

together but it's putting it should be fine

it tastes like dough really with just a weird consistency I think the main

reason that this is made edible is because if you have like a young child

making this and they eat it on accident then it's fine it doesn't taste good but

if someone happens to eat it on accident then it's totally fine yeah so this is

an ice cream want some anyway guys thank you so much for watching make sure to

give this video a big thumbs up and comment down below if you like chocolate

or vanilla or whatever flavor of ice cream is your favorite and I will see

you guys at my next video bye

Donald Trump Delivered The One Message Robert Mueller Never Wanted To Hear - Duration: 17:33.

Donald Trump Delivered The One Message Robert Mueller Never Wanted To Hear

Donald Trump and his supporters are fed up with Robert Mueller's witch hunt against

the President.

The investigation has dragged on for months without producing any evidence of collusion

with the Russians.

And now Donald Trump sent Mueller the one message he never wanted to hear.

Trump has refrained from attacking the special counsel by name on twitter.

But that all changed when Trump fired off two tweets blasting Mueller for stretching

out his investigation for months.

These tweets followed a statement by John Dowd – who is one of the President's attorneys

– demanding that the Mueller probe be shut down since the President is innocent of any

collusion and no evidence has been produced.

The Daily Beast reports:

"President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, John Dowd, told The Daily Beast on Saturday

morning that he hopes Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will shut down special counsel

Robert Mueller's probe into Russia's election interference.

Reached for comment by email about the firing of former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe,

Dowd sent The Daily Beast the text of Trump's most recent tweet on the subject, which applauded

the dismissal.

"I pray that Acting Attorney General Rosenstein will follow the brilliant and courageous example

of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and bring

an end to alleged Russia Collusion investigation manufactured by McCabe's boss James Comey

based upon a fraudulent and corrupt Dossier," Dowd then wrote.

In making the statement, a senior member of Trump's legal team joins the calls from

his base to end the probe.

As late as mid-December, another Trump lawyer, Ty Cobb, had brushed aside talk of stopped

Mueller's investigation, stressing that there was "no consideration at the White

House of terminating the special counsel."

The president himself has called the Mueller probe a "witch hunt," but has not publicly

urged Rosenstein to shutter it.

When The Daily Beast initially asked Dowd if he was speaking on behalf of the president,

he answered, "Yes as his counsel."

After publication of this story, however, Dowd emailed to say he was actually speaking

in his personal capacity, and not on the president's behalf."

Do you agree that the Mueller probe should be shut down?
