Jurassic world is the fourth installemt in the Jurassic park series.

It takes place on Isla Nublar, where the original Jurassic Park once stood.

Now a new theme park, Jurassic world, has taken its place.

Jurassic World centers around the theme that scientists have found a way to genetically

engineer dinosaurs to have other traits.

Like higher intelligence and thermal camouflage.

One of the films characters, Owen Grady, a navy veteran, is attempting to research if

its possible to train velociraptors so they can be used in military combat.

What if his research succeeded, and the world began to use dinosaurs as war machines?

Today, life's biggest questions asks, what if Jurassic world was real?

For a different take on the idea, I've decided to discuss the idea of using Dinosaurs in

warfare.

Dinosaurs on the battlefield?

Sounds like a kid in a sandbox's dream.

But taking a dino war out of the sandbox is a whole other thing.

Firstly, dinosaurs must be genetically engineered to display traits like loyalty.

Without loyalty, there's the danger that a combat dinosaur would simply attack members

of its own army.

Get that out of the way, and you've pretty much got the ultimate weapon.

Furthermore, Dinosaurs in warfare could save the lives of millions of soldiers.

Sending a living creature into combat would have advantages over sending AI into combat.

Animals are still more intelligent than our smartest AIs.

A dinosaur could make a judgement call that an AI just couldn't.

Animals are still better at making contextual decisions.

Genetically alter a dinosaur to have similar senses, lets say, a canine, and we're in

business.

Plus dinosaurs display many traits that would be useful for combat with or without altered

genes.

Raptors for example are cunning and fast, and could sneak up on an enemy with no problem.

Genetically altered T rexes could storm an enemy base and mow anyone in their path.

There are several species of armoured dinosaurs that could be perfect for the battlefield.

Trudon's are smaller dinosaurs but they have been known to have rather large brains,

capable of learning.

What about dilophosaurus?

You know, the one from Jurassic park that spits acid?

How sick would that be.

An Acid spitting combat dinosaur?

So Lit.

I've given a lot of thought to this if you can't tell.

Genetically engineered dinosaurs could be formulated to be able to camouflage themselves.

This would be useful in combat for obvious reasons.

They could blend in to practically any background, making it difficult for the enemy to see them.

Dinosaurs would have a easier time navigating difficult terrain.

You could send dinosaurs into caves and mountainous areas, places that are difficult for soldiers

on foot to reach.

Same deal with the jungle.

One of the reasons why south east asia has been a death trap in previous wars, like the

Vietnam war, is because of the terrain.

The viet cong used gorilla tactics that were alien to American soldiers.

They hid in trees and ambushed troops on the ground.

Combat dinosaurs would have no problem sniffing out the enemy in the jungle.

Sending dinosaurs into combat would have its issues.

The enemy could distract the dinosaurs with flares or food.

Poison gas could take out an entire troop of dinosaurs.

And they wouldn't be protected against bombs the way that tanks are.

Yes, sending dinosaurs in place of humans would save lives, but to what end?

Do these genetically engineered dinosaurs have rights?

A dinosaur is a living thing.

They aren't like machinery that could be switched off.

They need to be fed and housed and trained.

Carnivorous dinosaurs would need a ready supply of meat to feed off of.

In times of combat, they could eat the enemy, but much of war is spent waiting around and

planning.

What would the dinosaurs eat then?

It seems this question has sparked far more questions than answers.

There you have it, this is what I think would happen if Jurassic world was real.

How to Steam Bok Choy Recipe ~ Steamed Chinese Bok Choy Spicy Orange Sauce - Duration: 4:09.

I use bok choy in my stir frys and soups but tonight I'm making a basic

steamed bok choy. I'm Tess and I'm going to show you how to make an easy steamed bok

choy side dish with two delicious sauces.

Bok choy is a Chinese cabbage and you can find it at most Asian markets and

even at higher-end grocery stores. It is becoming more and more popular. You can

find bok choy in different sizes but today I'm using what they call baby bok choy.

Bok choy is healthy and is packed full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

I'm starting by cleaning the bok choy. I'm trimming off its base and removing

any discolored outer leaves. Cutting the bok choy in half and giving it a good

bath in cold water then I'm placing in a colander until all the water drains out.

I'm going to show you 2 simple sauces that can be served over the steamed bok choy.

The first is a Chinese spicy orange sauce. I'm starting with some fresh

orange juice and the zest of an orange, a little bit of honey, chopped red chilies

for the heat, Shaoxing wine and you can use rice wine vinegar, light soy sauce,

water and some corn starch. Giving that a good stir.

In a pan on medium heat I'm adding in a little oil, some sliced garlic and minced ginger.

Giving that a stir for about 30 seconds and then I'm pouring in my

orange sauce. Turning my heat up to a medium-high to

bring this up to a boil. Cooking and stirring for a couple minutes until the

sauce thickens.

The second sauce is a general Chinese sauce. I have some water in am adding in

some light soy sauce and some Shaoxing wine and again you can use rice wine

vinegar, in goes some oyster sauce and a little sesame oil, also adding in some

white pepper and then the corn starch. Giving that a good stir.

In my pan on medium heat I'm adding in the oil and the minced garlic. Cooking

and stirring for about 30 seconds and then pouring in the sauce. Again, turning

my heat up to a medium high to bring up to a boil, cooking and stirring for a

couple minutes until the sauce thickens.

Now for the bok choy. I don't have a steamer so I'm making one by using a pan

of water and my stainless steel colander. You just want to make sure that the

water does not go above the colander. My water is at a boil. I'm placing in my bok

choy, covering and cooking the bok choy for about three minutes. You can test the

bok choy along the way for your desired tenderness.

I love steamed bok choy! You can eat it as is or you can serve topped with a

sauce like I am tonight. The spicy orange sauce is loaded with

flavor and the red chilies add a nice level of heat. The basic Chinese sauce is

good as well. I really like the garlic and the sesame oil shines through. I hope

Top 10 Pokémon Fan Games - Duration: 6:34.

Pokemon is undeniably one of the greats when it comes to video game franchises.

While there have been generations and generations of unique Pokemon released over the last decade,

a lot of fans who adored the first 150 sometimes find it difficult to dive into the newer adventures,

even if they're hungry for a new Pokemon game to play.

We recently did two lists on Sonic fan made games that managed to capture the same spirit

and essence of the original Genesis classics - and some that parodied the franchise – so

we felt it was only right for us to take a look at Pokemon too.

So with that in mind, let's jump into our list of the top 10 Pokemon Fan Games.

10 Planet Pokemon Starting off this list is a take on a Pokemon

game that fans have been craving for years.

An MMORPG.

Called Planet Pokemon, this game, which has had some development struggles over the years,

feels a little like a work in progress, but the concept alone makes it quite compelling.

Graphic wise it's in pretty good shape, plus it's free to play, and lets players

chase the same dreams they chased in the original games – to become the very best Pokemon

trainer there ever was.

You can catch, train and evolve your Pokemon, explore new areas and make friends to boot.

9 Pokemon Adventure Ever wish you could play as Pikachu instead

of Red?

Probably not a desire of most Pokemon players, but turns out there is a ROM that satisfies

that craving in the form of Pokemon Adventure.

This game doesn't pull a lot from the original games – instead, it's a ROM hack on Sonic

Adventure 7, which explains why Pikachu can spin dash, why you collect Pokeballs, and

why your enemies don't really resemble other Pokemon overly well.

Eek.

Regardless, it's a very interesting experience, and plays as a platformer for those who want

something different than the traditional RPG style Pokemon game.

8 Pokemon Insurgence Insurgence has one of the biggest community

of players when it comes to fan made Pokemon games.

Borrowing many of the assets from the official games, it manages to have an air of authenticity

to it that appeals to most of its fans.

What makes it interesting though is that its narrative boldly goes where no real Pokemon

game has gone before – outside of PG territory.

It involves experimentation on Pokemon and a cult.

Players can play god with Pokemon DNA in order to create new species.

Also worth noting, the overall design is pretty slick.

7 Type Wild Moving away from the norm of modified ROM

games, let's take a look at a Pokemon game that falls into a different genre – a fighting

game.

Pokemon Type Wild is a 2D fighting game that feels a lot like Street Fighter, except with

Pokemon.

Although its graphics aren't the smoothest, its animation pulls a lot from the Pokemon

anime, with the option to play Single Battle or Versus battle with a friend.

While it may not have the sleekness of Pokken, it has some bite to it, and still makes for

one hell of a good time.

6 Pokemon 3D Another fan made game veering away from the

norm, Pokemon 3D drops you smack dab in the world of Pokemon.

Based on Pokemon Silver and Gold, you can navigate your Pokemon adventure in a 3D environment.

You can choose between various different avatars, and either play in first person or third person.

If you're like me and have been playing Pokemon since you were young, it'll feel

like you've been transported right into the game.

It's trippy, but fun as hell.

5 Pokemon Prism Featuring 252 Pokemon from the first four

generations, plus new TMs, Prism allows the player to jump out of their trainer shoes

and play as their Pokemon at various points in the game.

You also play as the son or daughter of Lance, the dragon type champion from the Indigo League,

so that's pretty damn cool.

A lot of different developers contributed to the game, including the Twitch Plays Pokemon

development team, which made Prism pretty hyped up.

Then Nintendo sent the creators a cease and desist letter a few days prior to the game

dropping.

Despite this, a fully functional version of the game got leaked on 4chan.

4 Pokemon Uranium Made with RPGmaker XP, Uranium is a ROM that

took nine years to develop, and features over 150 fan made new Pokemon for you to catch

and train.

Plus a new region!

Fans have praised it's story, the new abilities it's given the Pokemon within it and its

interesting NPCs.

The game was even nominated for the Best Fan Creation award at the Game Awards in 2016.

Despite all of this, the developers took the game down after one and a half million users

downloaded it, stating that they wanted to respect Nintendo's wishes after they received

multiple DMCA takedown notices from Nintendo's lawyers.

3 Pokemon Ash Gray A major fan favourite, Ash Gray combines Pokemon

Fire Red and the anime to give you a game that lets you play through an almost identical

journey as Ash Ketchum's.

Even right down to Ash's outfits.

And of course, your starting Pokemon is none other than Pikachu and you have to go through

the trials and tribulations the duo had together at the start of the very first season of Pokemon.

AH IM NERDING OUT A LITTLE.

Anyone who grew up and adored the anime will absolutely love this version of the game.

2 Pokemon Godra Godra is a fan made game that really stands

out of the crowd.

It gives players the opportunity to build themselves as trainers – but not just by

solely focusing on your Pokemon.

Your trainer life outside of gym battles matters in this game, and you're given the opportunity

to choose between various career paths, including War Party Leader, a Military General and – this

one's super cool – a Safari Zone Warden!

How neat is that?

Of course, it includes a lot of the other aspects that modified ROM versions of the

Pokemon contain, including multiple generations of Pokemon and familiar plot points, but it

also adds a whole Eastern and Western portion to the game's map that contains new quests

and narratives for players to dive into.

1 Pokemon Glazed Pokemon Glazed is one of the more polished

ROMs out there.

Not only does it not glitch out like crazy like some of the other modified ROMs available,

it also has content constantly added to it with updates, which is what has allowed for

continued interest in the game to flourish.

So aside from its mechanics, what does Glazed offer?

It contains multiple regions along with a brand new one featuring an unique story.

It has the first five generations of Pokemon, you have 5 starter pokemon you can choose

from, with the ability to eventually catch all starters as you progress in the game.

Plus, you can battle gym leaders again once you've defeated them.

Along with and you can even purchase a physical copy of it online if you want.

10 Great Minds From Throughout History - Duration: 16:37.

Since the first modern homo sapiens emerged some 50,000 years ago, it's estimated that

107 billion human beings have at one time or another lived on planet Earth.

The overwhelmingly vast majority of these people have been forgotten by history, but

there are a very few individuals whose names and achievements will echo through the ages.

From ancient Greece through to the modern world, these are 10 of history's greatest

minds.

Plato (Circa 428 BC – 348 BC)

The philosopher Alfred North Whitehead once wrote that European philosophy is best characterized

as a series of footnotes to Plato.

While this might perhaps be something of a stretch, it gives an indication of the esteem

in which the ancient Greek philosopher is held even to this day.

Plato's efforts to understand the world around him covered metaphysics, ethics, politics,

aesthetics, perception, and the nature of knowledge itself.

Despite having been written more than two-thousand years ago, his work remains eminently readable

today.

Plato didn't deal in dry, tedious treatise.

He preferred to bring his work to life, teasing out thoughts and ideas in the form of a dialogue

between characters.

This in itself was a remarkably innovative approach.

Plato blurred the lines between philosophy and entertainment and challenged the reader

to scrutinize their own beliefs.

Having been born into one of the wealthiest families in Athens, Plato would have been

well-schooled by the city's finest philosophers.

There's no question it was his mentor Socrates who made the greatest impression, appearing

again and again as chief protagonist in Plato's dialogues.

Socrates' resurrection in immortal literary form would no doubt have been particularly

galling to certain influential Athenians who had only recently killed him off.

Ancient Greece was similar to the modern world in at least one respect: not everybody reacted

kindly to having their beliefs challenged.

Leonardo da Vinci (1452 – 1519)

Born out of wedlock, and with no formal education, the young da Vinci seemed destined for a life

of anonymous drudgery.

In Renaissance Italy there was little social mobility.

The right family name and connections were invaluable.

Da Vinci had neither, but he was not a man who would blend into the background to be

forgotten by history.

Flamboyantly dressed, a strict vegetarian, enormously physically strong, and rumored

to be gay in an age when homosexuality could be punished by death, it was nonetheless the

workings of da Vinci's remarkable mind that truly set him apart.

In an age renowned for producing an abundance of great artists, da Vinci is regarded as

one of the greatest of them all.

Yet painting was by no means his only talent, nor perhaps even his greatest talent.

He studied geometry, mathematics, anatomy, botany, architecture, sculpture, and designed

weapons of war for the kings, princes, and barons who struggled for wealth and power

in Italy's warring city states.

It was as a visionary that da Vinci was arguably at his most brilliant.

In an age when Europe lacked basics such as indoor plumbing, he sketched out designs for

magnificent flying machines and armored vehicles powered by hand-turned crankshafts, ideas

that were centuries ahead of their time.

In 2002, almost 500 years after his death, one of Leonardo's visions was lifted from

the pages of his notebooks to become a reality.

A recreation of a glider based on his sketches, albeit with a few modifications deemed necessary

to reduce the risk of killing the pilot, was successfully flown by World Hang Gliding and

Paragliding Champion Robbie Whittall.

William Shakespeare (1564 – 1616)

The famous bard has become such an integral part of Western culture that it's tempting

to assume we must know a great deal about his life, but the reality is quite the opposite.

He was certainly born in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, but the exact date is a matter of

some conjecture.

There are huge swathes of time where he disappears from the records; we have no idea where he

was or what he was doing.

It's not even entirely certain what he looked like.

The popular image of Shakespeare is based on three main portraits.

Two of these were produced years after his death and the other probably isn't a depiction

of Shakespeare at all.

While history leaves us largely in the dark as to Shakespeare the man, almost his entire

body of work (so far as we know) has been preserved.

The best of his offerings are widely regarded to be amongst the finest, if not the finest,

works of literature in the English language.

He was equally adept at comedy or tragedy, had a gift for writing strong female characters,

and possessed an intimate understanding of the human condition that imbued his work with

a timeless, eminently quotable quality.

Shakespeare was by no means the only famous playwright of his era, but his work has stood

the test of time in a way that others have not.

Few people are now familiar with the plays of Ben Johnson or Christopher Marlowe; fewer

still have seen them performed.

While his rivals are now little more than historical footnotes, Shakespeare is even

more famous and celebrated in death than he was in life.

With an estimated 4 billion copies of his work having been sold, he ranks as the best-selling

fiction author of all time.

7.

Isaac Newton (1642 – 1727)

In December 2016, a first edition copy of Isaac Newton's Principia Mathematica sold

at auction for $3.7 million.

This was an extraordinary amount of money, but then Principia was an extraordinary book.

First published in 1687, Principia laid out the mathematical principles underpinning motion

and gravity.

It revolutionized science and was hailed as a work of near unparalleled genius, at least

by the very few individuals capable of understanding it.

Newton didn't enjoy being questioned by lesser minds (which included just about everybody),

so he wilfully set out to make Principia as difficult to follow as possible.

To make it less accessible still, he wrote it in Latin.

If Principia had been Newton's only achievement, then that would have been more than enough

to earn him the title of scientific genius.

But Newton did a great deal else besides.

With a ferocious work ethic that drove him to at least two nervous breakdowns, he scarcely

slept, never married, and often became so absorbed in his work that he simply forgot

to eat or teach his classes.

In an astonishingly productive 30-year period Newton invented calculus (but didn't bother

to tell anybody), conducted groundbreaking work on optics, invented the most effective

telescope the world had ever seen, and discovered generalized binomial theorem.

When Newton died in 1727, his collection of notes amounted to some 10 million words.

This window to the mind of one of history's greatest geniuses proved less useful than

might be imagined.

Newton was obsessed with alchemy, and the latter part of his career was consumed in

a futile attempt to transmute base metals into gold.

Benjamin Franklin (1706 – 1790)

At the age of 12, Benjamin Franklin was made apprentice to his elder brother James at his

printing business in Boston.

What he lacked in formal education, the younger Franklin more than made up for in curiosity

and intelligence.

He soon surpassed his brother as both a writer and a printer, a fact that didn't escape

James, who regularly expressed his displeasure with his fists.

The terms of Franklin's apprenticeship meant that he couldn't expect to receive wages

until he turned 21.

Backing himself to do rather better on his own, at 17 he ran away to find his own fortune.

He succeeded in spectacular fashion and would go on to become one of the wealthiest men

in America.

While Franklin's genius for business earned him a huge amount of money, this was never

his overriding goal.

Convinced that an individual's entrance to heaven would depend on what they had done

rather than what they believed, he was passionate about improving the lot of his fellow man.

Amongst his many achievements he set up America's first lending library, founded a college that

would go on to become the University of Pennsylvania, and created a volunteer fire fighting organization.

Franklin's talents as a businessman were matched by his brilliance as a writer, a mathematician,

an inventor, a scientist, and a good deal else besides.

Perhaps his most significant discovery was that lightning bolts could be understood as

a natural phenomenon rather than as an expression of the wrath of an angry God.

By understanding lightning Franklin was able to tame it.

The principles of the lightning rod he developed to protect buildings, ships, and other structures

from lightning strikes are largely unchanged to this day.

In true Franklin form he preferred to freely share his invention rather than apply for

a patent that would have been worth an untold fortune.

5.

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827)

Johan Van Beethoven was a man with a singular mission in life: to transform his son from

a talented amateur into a musical genius to rival even the great Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

He would pursue this goal with ruthless, single-minded determination.

As a result, the young Ludwig van Beethoven's childhood was rather a miserable affair.

Forced to practice for hours on end, his father would loom over him ready to administer a

beating for the slightest mistake.

This punishing regime left no time to spare for fun or playing with friends.

Witnesses reported seeing Beethoven perched on a piano stool at all hours of day and night.

Even his education was cut short; at the age of 11 he was withdrawn from school to concentrate

on music to the exclusion of all else.

It's sometimes said that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to master a craft, and Beethoven

would have exceeded this total from a very young age.

His lopsided education meant that he struggled with simple mathematical principles throughout

his life, but he became a truly phenomenal musician.

Beethoven ranks as arguably the greatest composer who ever lived, a feat which is all-the-more

impressive since by the age of 26 he had developed a ringing in his ears.

Over the next 20 years his hearing deteriorated to the point where he was totally deaf.

Despite this considerable handicap, Beethoven's intricate knowledge of music allowed him to

produce some of his greatest works at a time when he couldn't hear the notes he hit on

his piano.

Nikola Tesla (1856 – 1943)

In 1884 a Serb by the name of Nikola Tesla set foot on American soil for the first time.

He arrived in New York with little more than the clothes on his back, the design for an

electric motor, and a letter of introduction addressed to Thomas Edison.

Tesla and Edison were both geniuses, both brilliant inventors, and between them they

knew more about electricity than anyone else alive.

However, there was one major problem.

Tesla's electrical motor was designed to run on alternating current.

Meanwhile, a good deal of Edison's income was derived from the Edison Electric Light

Company, which relied on direct current.

In an attempt to protect his investments, Edison set out to discredit Tesla and convince

the public of the dangers of alternating current.

One particularly gruesome film, shot by the Edison Manufacturing Company, shows an unfortunate

elephant by the name of Topsy being enveloped by smoke and keeling over after being blasted

with 6,600 volts of electricity.

Despite these dirty tricks, Tesla's system had one very significant advantage: alternating

current could be transmitted over long distances, while direct current could not.

Tesla won the war of the currents.

Tesla's inventions, from hydroelectric power plants to remote control vehicles, helped

to usher in the modern age, but he had no spark for business.

In 1916, with his mental health deteriorating alarmingly, he was declared bankrupt.

Afraid of human hair, round objects, and preferring the company of pigeons over people, he seemed

to have become the embodiment of the idea of a mad scientist.

This impression was only strengthened by Tesla's obsession with developing a "death ray"

capable of shooting bolts of lightning.

Tesla believed his death ray would bring about an end to warfare, but he never succeeded

in completing it.

He died alone in a hotel room at the age of 86.

Marie Curie (1867 – 1934)

In 1896 the physicist Henri Becquerel made the serendipitous discovery that uranium salts

emitted rays of some kind.

While this struck him as rather curious, he wasn't convinced that further research into

the phenomenon represented the best use of his time.

He instead tasked his most talented student, Marie Curie, with discovering just what was

going on.

It wasn't often that such opportunities fell so easily into Curie's lap.

In her native Poland there had been no official higher education available for females, so

Curie had enrolled in a clandestine "Flying University."

On emigrating to France she had graduated at the top of her class, despite having arrived

armed with only a rudimentary grasp of the French language.

Curie, working alongside her husband Pierre, identified two new elements, polonium and

radium, and proved that certain types of rocks gave off vast quantities of energy without

changing in any discernible way.

This remarkable discovery earned Curie the first of her two Nobel Prizes, and it could

have made her very rich indeed had she chosen to patent her work rather than make the fruits

of her research freely available.

It was widely assumed that something as seemingly miraculous as radiation must be hugely beneficial

to human health, and radium found its way into all manner of consumer products from

toothpaste to paint.

Even Curie had no idea that radiation might be dangerous, and years of handling radium

very likely led to the leukimia that claimed her life in 1934.

Her notebooks are still so infused with radiation that they will remain potentially deadly for

another 1,500 years; anybody willing to run the risk of reading them is required to don

protective gear and sign a liability waiver.

Hugh Everett (1930 – 1982)

By the age of just 12, Hugh Everett was already brilliant enough to be regularly exchanging

letters with Albert Einstein.

The American excelled at chemistry and mathematics, but it was in physics, and more specifically

quantum mechanics, that he made his mark with one of the strangest scientific theories of

the Twentieth Century.

Nils Bohr once famously wrote that anybody who isn't shocked by quantum mechanics hasn't

understood it.

The behavior of protons and electrons on a quantum level is downright weird, but Everett

suggested it all made sense if there were an infinite number of universes.

Everett's multiverse theory proved popular amongst science fiction writers, but it was

derided by the scientific community.

Disappointed, Everett largely gave up on quantum mechanics.

He instead undertook research for the US military, attempting to minimize American casualties

in the event of a nuclear war.

A heavy-drinker and a chain-smoker, Everett died in 1982 at the age of 51.

Since then his ideas have begun to edge towards the scientific mainstream, and they do resolve

a number of thorny problems.

The universe operates to the laws of a set of numbers known as fundamental constants,

and every one of these has to be precisely tuned in order for the universe to function

as it does.

It seems that either humanity has been fantastically lucky, on the level of one individual winning

the lottery every week for several months, or the universe has been intelligently designed.

Everett's multiverse theory suggests another possibility.

If there are an infinite number of universes, then an infinite number of possibilities are

played out.

In such circumstances it comes as no surprise that we find ourselves in a universe that

appears to be tuned to perfection.

1.

Albert Einstein (1879 – 1955)

Contrary to popular belief Einstein didn't fail math at school.

He excelled at the subject, having mastered differential and integral calculus by the

age of 15.

However, while the spark of genius was already present, it would be quite some time until

anybody recognized it.

It's fair to say that the academic world wasn't beating a path to Einstein's door.

Having been rejected for a university teaching position, and then having been turned down

by a high school, in 1902 the German-born physicist began work in the Patents Office

in Bern, Switzerland.

The idea that a lowly patents clerk would go on to become arguably the most influential

scientist of all-time would have appeared absurd, but in 1905, in what must rank as

the most extraordinarily productive 12 months of individual intellectual endeavor in history,

he produced four papers that would revolutionize the way the universe is understood.

In just one year he proved the existence of atoms, described the photoelectric effect,

demonstrated that an object's mass is an expression of the energy it contains (E = mc2),

and published his Special Theory of Relativity.

He would eventually expand the latter into his famous General Theory of Relativity, which

suggested that space and time were one and the same thing.

Einstein's theory of relativity was still just a theory, and one that was considered

little short of heresy by a significant portion of the scientific community (Nikola Tesla

included).

It wasn't until 1919, when his predictions on the behavior of starlight during a solar

eclipse were demonstrated to be accurate, thereby proving his theory to be correct,

that he was catapulted to international fame.

It's fun to tweet, Snapchat,

maybe even start up a YouTube channel.

But do you love it enough to give up your day job?

Well, here's a Winnipegger who did just that!

- Name is Taren Gesell, AKA Triathlon Taren,

and I started this chapter--

- Taren Gesell did quit his job as a financial advisor,

as you heard, to pursue a new career,

posting online full time.

He now combines his love of sport, of triathlon,

with his other love, social media.

Calls himself a social media Grand Poobah.

Just to nod to the Flintstones, I kinda love that.

He's in studio this morning to talk about our series,

Living Life Online.

How are you doing?

- Good, thanks for having me here, Marcy.

- So how much of a risk was this for you

to say, "Oh, I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna commit."

- You know what, I think a lot of people would look at it

as a risk, but by that time,

it really didn't seem that risky.

I was already doing a lot of posting

in my spare time, at nights and on the weekends.

And when I had an opportunity to end up leaving my career,

air quotes career, in suits and fancy letters

and behind my name, it seemed really scary

for a couple hours, and then I started talking it over

with my wife, and she said,

"What do you do at nights and on the weekends?

You play on YouTube and social media.

You don't watch CNBC and do financial advisory things.

Like, you have a chance now to do

what you're doing for free, for a living.

So why wouldn't you take that?"

And sure, financially, or career-wise,

or typical career track-wise,

a lot of people might think of it as risky.

But it didn't feel like it.

Like, it felt right.

- It's a community. - Yeah.

- There's like Gear Geeks, you know,

anything triathlon, marathon, ultra...

Like, all of that kind of intense sport.

- That it takes so much work to transform you.

- Let's talk about some of the numbers here.

I have that 70% of your workload is triathlon stuff,

but 30% of your revenue is triathlon stuff.

What does that mean?

- That's about right.

So, we have a company, the company is called Post,

and there's kind of two arms to it.

One is we consult to companies on social media things,

things that we've found out that help us,

and we help them grow, and that's local businesses.

We're also working with companies in triathlon,

in California, we did some work for one in New York,

and that's what kinda pays the bills right now as we grow.

- While he continues to try to make vlogging

his full time career, we're gonna check in

with a woman as we continue our online series,

Living Life Online.

Fast and furious.

They are efficient in radio!

But instead, we go swimming.

Ooh, that was a solid swim!

We're talking about 3,000 meters in just over an hour,

with a fair bit of kicks, some IM, some drill,

it felt like four hours.

Does anyone ever find that that happens

when you go and swim by yourself, in a new pool?

(upbeat synthetic music)

So that morning was pretty cool.

So when Marcy started there, we're on a first name basis,

she actually interviewed me after the long swim last year.

She started off by saying,

"We are talking this week to people

who have quit their jobs and pursued their passion."

And that kinda went, "Whoa," to me.

'Cause I guess I've been doing this for,

we're coming up on two or three weeks

from exactly three years

since I posted my first video, I think.

So the newness of it has kinda worn off,

and I forget that I did do something

that would scare the shirt out of a lot of people.

And she asked me what tips I've got.

If any of you are looking to quit a job, I would say don't.

Don't do it, too risky.

Instead, do stuff on the side,

whether it's a podcast, or YouTube channel,

or Instagram feed, or writing a book, or whatever it is.

If you do it on the side, it takes away that urgency

to have to make it work.

And if you don't have that urgency,

you're gonna be able to make the right decisions

that are right for you.

But if you've got that urgency

and you have to make a living off of it,

and you have to make it work,

I think you'll make decisions that will force you

to not be patient, that will force you

to take money that you don't really want

because you're doing things that you don't really want,

and it's also such a huge change that I think

because it's so big, and so intimidating,

people wouldn't actually do it.

But just to have something on the side,

heck, what's the risk in doing that?

And if you just kinda keep following your curiosity,

and you do a little bit more and a little bit more,

it can snowball into something very big,

very fun, very cool.

Now, I'm gonna hunker down

and work on the swim workouts and the Zwift workouts

that I'm getting to ya'll.

Hopefully, I'm gonna say, next month.

This Map Shows Where We'll Live On Mars - Duration: 5:14.

- [Narrator] We are closer to landing on Mars now

than ever before.

Private companies like SpaceX are achieving new feats

in rocket science, the likes of which we've never seen.

But rockets will only take us so far.

There are more problems unique to Mars

that still stand in our way.

One of them is, where would we live?

Mars is a desolate desert

pretty much no matter where you look.

It's not like there are any oceans or snow capped mountains

to help us decide where to settle down.

But that hasn't stopped this guy from trying

to figure it out.

- Our main goal is to investigate if it is possible

to grow crops on Mars and moon soil for people

when they go over there and live there.

- [Narrator] Wamelink and his colleague Linechug

have actually made a map of where we should live on Mars.

The map accounts for radiation levels, climate, terrain,

and perhaps most importantly, the soil.

- We looked at the amount of nutrients in the soil

for instance, calcium, magnesium,

and also other nourishments like phosphates and nitrates.

So what you would normally expect in manure.

And we also looked at the amount of ice that is available.

That is not the same everywhere on Mars.

There are areas where there's almost no ice

and there are areas with a lot of ice.

- [Narrator] The most habitable places are labeled

in dark blue on the map.

And, we're pretty familiar with some of these locations.

For example, Acidalia Planitia is just north of where

NASA's Viking 1 and Mars Pathfinder landed.

However, it looks like we should probably steer clear

of some of Mars' inactive volcanoes,

like Olympus Mons and Elysium Mons.

But how does Wamelink know whether crops

will grow at all on Mars?

Take a look at his Mars garden.

The conditions in the soil here are as similar as possible

to what we might find on Mars.

He's been harvesting it for the last five years,

and he's had some amazing success so far.

- Well, it's been a big surprise from the beginning

that many plants are able to grow on it.

The growth is almost the same as if you would use

normal potting soil from earth.

It's not completely the same, but we are getting there.

We had huge harvest of green beans.

Also tomatoes, but carrots are growing fine, even potatoes.

So many different types of crops we are now able to grow.

- [Narrator] Wamelink hopes that his work will help

lay the foundations for the first Marian farms.

After all, it's not like we can send

regular food payloads to Mars.

It takes about 10 months to even get there.

And practical launch windows only open once every two years.

On top of that, astronauts can only bring so much

freeze dried food with them.

So they'll have to learn to grown their own food indoors

on Mars if we are ever going to live there

for long periods of time.

But Wamelink hasn't just been growing plants.

He's also figured out how to make the process

as efficient and successful as possible.

The secret, earthworms.

That's right, earthworms might be some of the first

living things on Mars next to humans.

- When you're on Mars, you want to have a closed system.

So everything has to be reused and worms help with that.

- [Narrator] Earthworms feed on the dead decaying

parts of plants that we won't eat,

but that's still an essential part of the system.

They break the plant matter down during digestion

so that when they return it to the soil it actually

makes the soil more fertile.

But the most surprising thing was that they could survive

in Wamelink's Martian soil in the first place.

- The biggest surprise was first of all,

that they survived because we know that the Martian soil

is rather sharp.

They have really sharp edges.

When you look under the microscope to the soil,

you see that.

And well, since the worms eat the soil,

they get it into their gut.

And it would be the same as we, as humans, would eat

a glass that's broken.

And I expected that the worms may get hurt from it.

But apparently, they are able to cope with it

and they survived.

And they didn't even survive, they had some offspring.

And that was a big surprise for us.

- [Narrator] One of Wamelink's next big experiments

is to perfect the Martian potato.

Turns out, potatoes grow extremely well

in Wamelink's garden.

But they just don't grow to be very large.

- And that's something we have to solve because then

you get potatoes that are very small and not very tasty.

So that is what we're going to try to solve this year

in the greenhouse with a special variety of potatoes.

- [Narrator] With one more seemingly impossible hurdle

behind us, Mars seems closer than ever.

welcome to Lapland Finland where you just have a little bit of snow Mike hell

yeah come on you gotta get closer come on I thought it was maybe up to the

kneecaps there's a I'm not even at the bottom are you serious I'm here to help

two idiots as you can see it's a very snowy place in oh my gosh well we've got

Mike Shepherd here we've got Jared over there so if you have been watching me

for a while welcome back to the channel and if you are new here my name is Eric

I love to travel and this is why Lapland Finland is one of my top travel

destinations I have ever been to okay so first off you can't go walking around

the woods of Lapland without a pair of these guys on the first activity on my

list is snowshoeing up Lapland on average gets 60 to 90 centimetres of

snow and the snowpack is usually the deepest in mid-march which was right

when I was visiting and snowshoeing was one of the best ways to fully immerse

ourselves in the wilderness of Lapland and get a solid workout in so we found

out the secret to this deep treacherous snow in Finland pair of these boys

snowshoes so we've been out here for two hours just out here in the wilderness of

Finland snowshoeing around we come upon this abandoned cabin okay so the cabin

isn't quite abandoned but the store behind it is pretty cool you're actually

in Le'Veon we are at the ski resort and this is actually a prop from a movie

about the life of Santa this is apparently where Santa grew up in the

film but if you look this way here might turn the camera we're actually right in

the middle of a ski resort I highly recommend going for a snowshoe hike it

is a killer workout and it's a great way to take in the area but if you're kind

of lazy or you're looking for a bit more of a thrill the next activity on my

it's snow it is the jet ski of the snow is the best way to get around up here

and it's actually very interesting before you go out and you rent this you

have to have a full depth out survival suit so if you can see I am in a full-on

winter you know if you get lost in the tundra this is gonna keep you warm just

notice how quiet it is with all the snow I could literally hear the snowflakes

hitting my jacket that's how fire to this you can't find this in New York no

not in New York one of the biggest questions I get asked about my videos

especially the really glossy travel videos is where do you get your music

and I know for a lot of youtubers that's a big issue because of copyright I am

if you are here in Lapland I highly recommend renting one of these bad boys

the faster you go the easier it is which it's a good lesson for life when you're

this far up north I think the best thing to do is to just you know embrace the

cold the next must-see place on my list is the snow village ice hotel let's

start off with some hotel stats the snow village covers an area of 20,000 square

meters it's built up every year from scratch and construction begins around

late October to early November when it gets cold enough the hotel is

constructed from 20 million kilos of snow and 350 thousand kilos of crystal

clear natural ice the temperature in the snow village remains at a I mean I guess

you could call it comfortable - - - about -5 degrees Celsius the ice hotel

comes complete with an amazing restaurant a movie theater bar and even

a chapel the Suites are all decorated with elaborate art sculpted into the ice

itself it's a bucket-list one-of-a-kind experience if you're all about making

unique travel memories the Ice Hotel is for you so you can't go all the way to

Finland without doing the next activity on my list which is the smoke sauna and

the Finnish River ice bath so normally what you do is you go into the sauna you

warm up your body real nice to the point where you are so hot that the only way

to really appease this heat and to get rid of this heat is to run down to the

river and jump into the river into this little hole which they call the Finnish

ice bath now the tradition of the smoke sauna is a massive massive part of

Finnish culture there are approximately 5.5 million people living in Finland and

there are an estimated two million saunas that is how much the Finnish

people like their sauna the smoke sauna is an art form at sunrise a fire is made

and it is stoked for six to eight hours until the rocks are heated up

proper temperature normally when you do this you go naked butts because this is

going on YouTube and I want to film the whole thing from memory we're wearing a

bathing suit but this is the entrance to the smoke sauna stop going in here shut

the door behind you

this is it put some water on this rock really get that skin going in here

now we just sit and marinate get nice and toasty you because in a few minutes

now the air is so cold that even moving river water can freeze in a matter of

minutes I'm ready for my eyes back you ready yeah let's go bro let's go

it gets so warm in there so fast yeah like I don't even feel cold right

now oh you will in a second my friend fear doesn't exist fear is a mental

thing you are screaming you won just get the hell out 15 seconds later you calm

down your breathing slows you look up at the sky through the blue the best way to

start the day you're probably watching that like Eric what are you doing I

cannot even tell you how invigorating it is to jump in ice-cold water when it's

minus 8 what is that in Celsius as cold as what it is it's very cold this next

activity on my list is arguably what this region of the world is best known

for the Northern Lights and more specifically unique hotels to view them

simply put the Northern Lights are caused by massive solar storms that rip

through space and by the time the solar storm reaches our planet the Earth's

magnetic field deflects the storms except in the polar regions and the

gases from these storms caused the aurora they can only be seen under

crystal-clear skies and very cold conditions

we're on a sled on the way to our next room we're staying at it's called the

Northern Lights Hut you'll see in like a second it's pretty

cool this evening we are staying in huts that have glass ceilings so you can have

a perfect view of the Northern Lights

this is the official tour of the Northern Light Hut cabin you walk into

this little cabin that there's a desk to the left you walk in a bit more you know

take off your coat there's a bathroom to the right you go straight back there is

a king-sized bed you travel lights you lay back you look

up and if you are lucky you will see one of the most amazing phenomenons known to

mankind the Northern Lights oh good morning from

northern Finland what a crazy place to stay oh I slept so well last night oh

it's now the next morning after spending a night in the Northern Lights Hut would

I recommend spending the night here 100% you walk out of your Northern Lights Hut

you come in here they have a full breakfast spread everything you could

ever want for a solid breakfast you have your coffee belly rubs oh when I travel

and I see a dog I miss Bubba so much if you don't know who Bubba is Bubba is my

old English bulldog away from home these huts are more for the rustic hearted and

if you're into something a bit more spacious our final night in Finland that

we stayed in the Northern Lights sweet 11 a glutes here is a tour of our

Northern Lights mansion you walk into the master bedroom and it's straight out

of I mean how would you describe this finland is very close to Mother Russia

I'm half Russian this is what you'd call Russian luxury it is decked out in gold

there's little studded diamonds in the chandelier everything is gold the bed

the mirror the windows the chairs the bathroom has a rocket ship in it well

yeah the showers I have in the back does it you shut this and you're in the

portal so we're gonna save this room for tomorrow when the Sun is out because

this is the great room and to really appreciate it you have to see the view

this honestly looks like a portal love like that right now it looks like a

portal to another dimension but in the morning you have the view of Lapland and

the ceiling has foam Northern Lights just in case they don't come out we

aren't gonna cook in here so I'm just gonna give you a quick flash of this

kitchen very mod ordain the steel coffee maker I mean if you lived here it'd be a

pretty nice kitchen but we're only here for one night you walk

into this room and this is when it really smacks into you that Nordic

rustic vibe you have the pull-out guest couch now this is I would call this this

might even be the master bedroom as well because I personally prefer this bedroom

to the Russian gold luxury room this is the cabin in the woods there's a tree in

the bathroom to rest your your bum on and there's actually a branch the hole

if you have a really you know what Finnish mansion would not be complete

without your own personal sauna a place like this runs you about a thousand

euros a night but honestly sitting in a hot tub with two meters of snow behind

you looking up and seeing the Northern Lights if you're lucky enough tonight I

mean as you can see it's kind of snowing so tonight yet we might not see them but

you never know the weather can change fast here

The Twitch Phenomenon: The Rise of the Celebrity Gamer - Duration: 13:48.

"There are reports that you're making more than a half a million dollars a month. I

believe much of that coming from Twitch."

"Congratulations on getting people to pay

so much money that you're bringing in more than half a million dollars in revenue a

month for people to watch you play video games."

"And I'm sure it was tough to

convince your parents that there was really a business model for this."

"Where is most of your income coming from and how important is Twitch becoming in

this gaming ecosystem."

"Right, uh"

You might be wondering how this guy from Lake

Villa, Illinois got here by playing video games. And you may also be wondering how

the hell he was able to get Drake to play video games with him to an audience

of 600,000. Well it's all thanks in part to Twitch. But before Twitch was helping

to put gamers in headlines and turning them into celebrities it was just one

kid with a webcam trying to become the world's biggest reality TV mogul?

In 2007 two Yale students, Justin Khan and Emmet Shearer launched justin.tv

based on a simple idea.

"We should produce a live reality TV show. It's technically

possible now, it's really easy."

It was backed by Y Combinator, a startup

accelerator and seed capital firm owned by Paul Graham and Robert Morris.

"I remember Robert said, 'I'll fund that just to see you make a fool of yourself.'

And so then we walked out of there with a check for $50,000 and that was it."

The website generated instant interest thousands of people flocked to

the site to, as the original slogan for justin.tv says, waste time watching other

people waste time.

"That's why you could see me, you know, getting a cab to come here, and then

sitting here in the studio with you, and then after this I'm going to kick boxing."

People were surprisingly

interested in the idea but there was one fatal flaw.

"One of my main learnings was

that you really, really, really have to edit down weeks of content in order to

get hours of content. We had an hour of content per hour of viewership which

meant it was really boring."

And so the viewers started asking for more

entertaining content and some viewers even went as far as to take their

entertainment into their own hands.

Yes, that was the first ever documented swatting prank

caught on camera and it all started on the hit new 24/7 reality show Justin TV.

"You also were telling us that you get a lot of requests and what are the top

three requests that you get for people who are watching for you, you know what

they want you to do?"

"Well most people are like Justin get off your computer go

talk to girls. get off your computer go talk to girls."

With an overwhelming amount of the viewership asking for more entertaining content Justin began to

adapt and evolve the content of his life cast. He began taking different classes

going on dates and even became more spontaneous in his daily activities. But

people still wanted more

iJustine was a far more interesting person to watch compared to Justin but

more important than that she became the first member of what would eventually be

the biggest network of life casters in the world.

But while Justin TV looked to be

constantly evolving on the surface, the company was facing serious financial

problems behind the scenes. Up to this point the company's monetization plan

was based on product placement sponsorships with companies like Zipcar

Bawls energy drink and even Shia LaBeouf's movie Disturbia.

But these sponsorships weren't doing enough to offset the costs associated

with running a business of this scale. What eventually saved them was the

advancements they made in streaming technology.

"Turns out we are pretty good

technologists and pretty bad entertainers."

In the several months that the several months that the team had been working to broadcast Justin's life their software brought the

cost of live streaming down to half a penny per hour. A cost that was cheap

enough to serve constant video to the masses as an ad-supported business.

With the ability to serve ads, justin.tv fully transitioned into an open network of streamers

"Aloha from Hawaii, what's up."

From the Jonas Brothers to cooking to

sports and beyond Justin TV would become the platform for anyone anywhere to

create content the way they wanted to.

(Hysterical laughter)

Between 2008 and 2009 justin.tv more than tripled its monthly traffic, boasted

a broadcaster base of over 30,000 streamers and was quickly becoming the

place to go for daily entertainment. However Justin TV's growth began to

stagnate going into 2010. Copyright issues with the streaming of cable

sporting events and the broadcast of a 19-year-old, bipolar teen Abraham Biggs'

suicide forced justin.tv to police its content more heavily and its once

vibrant user base started to fall off.

"That's the that's the trough of sorrow.

We'd grown for quite a while but we didn't really understand why we were

growing other than we'd built this cool thing, we really liked it we thought it

was cool and when we let other people use it. It grew and grew and grew until

it didn't."

Nevertheless the Justin TV team was determined to make the website

great. They just didn't know how. That's when Emmett chimed in with an odd idea I

"I thought what if we just focused on growing gaming. I actually hadn't though of creating a sparate

site yet, I just thought this is the great content. I want to grow that part of the site."

Focusing on gaming content seemed like a terrible idea.

"It was very counter intuitive, right, because you would think that gaming was

this very small niche. Luckily we're building into a niche that was growing

quite big and now everyone's talking about esports and esports viewership and

people watching games and interacting with people online through games but

that wasn't the case in 2011 when we started working on it. But Emmett as an

avid gamer himself really identified with the community and was convinced

that it was something worth pursuing especially because Starcraft 2 had just

been released.

"Hell, it's about time."

Gaming and esports content was often much more

controlled than your classic webcam streams, had little to no risk of

copyright infringements and most importantly had a dedicated niche fan

base desperately searching for a platform.

"And it really harps on this

whole ecosystem that is competitive gaming and where we fit in there is not

only as a live streaming infrastructure to deliver the you know live gameplay to

the viewers around the world. But we really see ourselves fitting in

to this role. You're really supporting both players and commentators I mean the

whole ecosystem of competitive sports it's just like any other spectator sport

you have players you have coaches you have commentators you have leagues you

have production companies and you need that whole ecosystem to survive and..."

"Cybersports network."

"That's right, we've got Cybersports network doing coverage and we really see ourselves fitting in where we can

support the live-streaming but not only that actually help players and

commentators make a living off of competitive gaming."

So the engineers at justin.tv began to provide a wide range of supportive tools for the gaming

community viewer and streamers alike. And by the summer of 2011 the gaming section

had exceeded all preconceived expectations. With the immense growth of

its gaming section, Justin and Emmett decided that the community deserved its

a very own website Twitch TV.

"That new brand was really about saying, hey we're

here to be a platform for gamers. We're here to be not just any other video live-

streaming platform something that's going to be hyper specialized around

live-streaming gaming.

And when Twitch launched in 2011, it truly changed the

game. Hyper-focused on the needs of the broadcaster first, the platform brought

with it a ton of features like a partnership program in which gamers and

tournaments share in the advertising revenue generated on their video streams

and a subscription service which allowed for the subscriber to unlock special

features and exclusive content, were all innovations of the creative minds behind

Justin TV.

It didn't take long for Twitch to become the premier gaming and esports

entertainment website on the planet with Twitch as the go-to esports events

platform, esports viewership would skyrocket along with its user base.

League of Legends, the most popular game at the time, consistently broke its own

Twitch viewership records year after year. From 210,000

concurrent viewers in 2011 to 1.1 million concurrent viewers in 2012 and 11

million in 2013.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Season 3 World Championship finals!"

As esports in gaming grew so did Twitch. From a measly 3.5

million monthly users in 2011 to over 20 million users in 2012 and then over 45

million users by 2013, Twitch's growth was more than just unbelievably fast. For

most people it was simply unbelievable.

"If you said 10 years ago that people

would be literally watching live as someone else played a video game and

that would be enormous videos business no one would have believed you."

"They were telling me the numbers of viewers they were getting and I swore that they were,

that there was a decimal point off there's no way they could be talking

about 400,000 viewers and a million, just really big, like, network broadcast kind

of viewership in these things

Twitch continued to surpass all expectations into 2014 and at 100 million

unique monthly viewers, Amazon bought out the world's premier gaming entertainment

service for just shy of a billion dollars.

"A very interesting acquisition

for them as you can see them trying to build up their their streaming video

business. There is possibly nothing hotter in streaming video now, and I will

include Netflix in that, nothing hotter than Twitch doing 42 billion minutes is,

42 million users." "Hang on there's nothing hotter in streaming video." "Yeah I think

that's the case and I really think that the..." "Including everything." "Including everything."

The most popular streamers began pulling in tens of thousands of

viewers, providing entertainment that broke down the fourth wall with its

interactive chat system and the ability to earn a living from playing video games.

"And you blow 'em up, like what the f*** support is so easy dude."

But even with the confidence of one of the world's biggest brands, the

general public still remains skeptical of the power of Twitch. Esports and

gaming culture continued to be seen as only a niche, as nerd culture and as a

waste of time.

"I'm laughing because I can't think of anything less interesting."

those people also go to Star Trek conventions?"

"I need to understand, who are these people? Is it attendees of Comic-Con?"

Whether the general public

would acknowledge it or not, Twitch continued to grow its brand and

the streamers that put out great content gained unprecedented amounts of fame and

wealth. In 2014 and 2015 guys like Imaqtpie, Syndicate and

summit1g pulled in tens of thousands of viewers at a time. From subscriptions to

donations to ad revenue and the ability to diversify their income with YouTube,

merchandise and sponsorships, the everyday Twitch streamer began making

more than just a humble living. They were becoming something much bigger.

Twitch continues to grow to this day and although it has over 2 million active

streamers now, it's guys like Ninja who are truly living the dream. Having

reached 150,000 subscribers, Ninja reportedly makes

around half a million dollars a month, meaning he's on pace to earn 6 million

dollars in just one year.

Twitch today is breaking down the traditional

barriers of what it means to be in entertainment. It's making millionaires

and celebrities out of its most popular streamers, while blurring the lines

between TV star, entertainer and gamer

Congress wasn't going to be voting on it because they passed it through the 1.3

trillion dollar omnibus so there was no debate basically what they're saying

then is when privacy is criminalized only criminals have privacy we got sold

out again why keep doing that so another good reason again um just another

example of where cryptocurrency and you know blockchain and Bitcoin and all that

stuff plays a very important role is to keep

you safe and to keep your things private and not having you know it's sold out to

anyone basically all these companies are now being told that foreign governments

could actually get personal data from us from the people in the US through these

companies and obviously Microsoft posted a letter supporting the bill talking

about how it creates a modern legal framework but a lot of people are very

unhappy with this simply because I mean obviously the tech companies like this

you know benefit to them I guess but a lot of people are unhappy because it

destroys their privacy which is something that blockchain and

cryptocurrency is trying to fix and that is why it's having such a big movement

especially at this time like this is the right time I think for these things to

come out this is where people are starting to notice and people are

starting to pay attention to the whole you know my data is not safe right now

people don't like that and this is why we're seeing you know adoption more and

more adoption of cryptocurrency and I think it's going to continue in the

coming years also so that this bank is sent on there they're going to launch an

international payment app with ripple this spring if no one beats us to it so

they actually talked about this in the company's 2017 earnings presentation

it's going to be open in Spain Brazil UK and Poland at first at least it's gonna

be in q1 2018 fully trend the full transparency on fees and they're

basically going to be using right here so the banking group are the great

partnering with ripple to release international money transfer app using

ripples blockchain X Current and a ripple net platforms that was reported

on the 24th today it is the 25th so this was yesterday another great sign of

adoption now obviously you can like or dislike ripple this is technically just

another partnership that ripple has nothing is in effect quite yet they said

they're going to be launching it it has not launched it has not been used yet

but apparently the bank and ripple have actually been in the bank has been

invested in ripple in yes they invested in 2015 and 2016

they have had test runs of in 2016 to figure out so this has been going on for

a while now and now they're officially planning on

launching this in q1 of 2018 now again this is another great sign for adoption

however when we look at the ripple price we don't actually see anything change at

least we go to the you know ripples at 63 cents sixty-four cents basically it's

down 2.2 8% its marked caps 25 billion dollars but it hasn't had any change and

this we've started seeing this a lot when partnerships with ripple you know

nothing actually changes and I personally think it's because we don't

see anything we are just hearing about a ton a ton of partnerships you guys know

ripples partners would like I believe in total it's over 60 banks that is huge

that is huge but until they actually you know until things are actually working

and people are seeing things improve I think it's gonna be hard for ripple to

grow just because they have so many partnerships now a new partnership isn't

you know news to anyone unlike with another come same thing happened with

tron char gets partnerships all the time but the price does not move um just

because of that obviously it moves due to other factors but not because of the

actual you know just the partnership so that's something we haven't seen the

ripple price move but another partnership hopefully we start seeing

this stuff in action now that's what I'm most excited about it's the action part

hopefully we start seeing that and hopefully it pays off well for the bank

for a first cent in there now let's look at the overall cryptocurrency market cap

right real quick just before we jump into the iOS token 329 a billion dollars

that investors love it you guys can tell by the fact that the you know they

didn't even hold a public sale because they probably managed to raise so much

from the private sale so investors are there and a lot of people are backing it

now if you look at the team the team again are some it's there's some very

very very good and big players in the cryptocurrency spent a lot of people

with a lot of experience their team is definitely I would consider them a

pretty all-star team they're very very good and advisers as well

if vise advisers as well they have you know just a ton of good advise you guys

can go and checked out their LinkedIn if you guys want to but I was very

impressed by the ones I was looking at and seeing where they came from and

seeing what they've actually you know worked wins which areas they've worked

with a lot of people who have already participated in a lot of other and no

advising jobs a lot of people who've participated other tokens a lot of

people who are been in the industry for some time now investors and partners

they also have some huge investors and partners Sequoia for example very big

one this right here the blockchain one also very very big and they're listed on

many many exchanges now this all seems pretty good if I were to name a negative

of iOS token would be that everything they're doing

is going to be launched a little bit further in the future than a lot of

other people have done so they don't have necessarily any huge innovation a

lot of the coins in the top you know 50 crypto currencies are doing a lot of the

same thing they're trying to challenge they're trying to you know challenge a

lot of the same things they're trying to be the best at the same things but that

you know cause a lot of competition in that space and the problem I have is

that a lot of the stuff you take a look at their roadmap a lot of the things are

going to be released like 2019 yeah mainly 2019 and that's

something I talk about a lot when I talk about isoceles as well is that you can't

I don't I don't fully back in IC o---- when I see that their vision is only

gonna start taking place in 2020 because that's way too far down the line I think

there's so much innovation going on right now that if you wait till 2020

you're not gonna necessarily be able to compete cuz then everyone's gonna be so

much further ahead of you already so that's one of the biggest cons I see

with iOS token but let's take it just take a look at the price the quick

charts they are at a relatively low point you know they had a huge pump up

here and again it corrected ups at the similar time I think or the market no I

was actually after the market was the market was already in a downtrend when

this happened but anyways they it went up again like everything it had a pump

and then they had a correction back down now everything is at the lower levels

this is one of the lowest points I see possible on the chart I don't think

we're gonna see it go much lower you can see actually that we started having a

swing movement we're starting a little it looks like it helped at least this

token is looking to make some moves so again I think this is a pretty solid

coins of 3.5% in the day it is pretty solid

it's a 236 bill a million dollar market cap so again I like the technology

behind it I like I think there's an actual problem and they're trying to

solve it my issues with it would be the competition are the competition is very

very high and you know their roadmap leaves a lot of things to happen in the

future which you know you can't guarantee that other companies aren't

going to be so much further ahead of you that kind of makes sense hopefully that

makes sense but yeah guys that was my review of iOS token next Sunday we're

gonna be reviewing another ICO another cryptocurrency that you guys vote on

taking a look at the technical analysis though just before we end the video

things again I don't think things are looking bad we're still trading you know

under this resistance and above this support which we drew trading

comfortably over here again waiting to make a move a lot of people predicting

Bitcoin will go back to I saw predictions about Bitcoin at 4,000 I

personally don't think we're seeing Bitcoin at 4,000 this like any time I

don't think that's going to happen I think some big big big things would have

to go wrong for a Bitcoin to be down at 4000 now the 6,000 level 6500 resistance

level is definitely possible if it breaks down below this below this

support we could definitely see it drop down to its next support line that's

definitely something that's possible however looking forward I think we're

gonna start seeing more and more money come into cryptocurrency and the dates

I'm looking at mainly which I'm gonna talk about this hopefully at tomorrow's

video I'll talk about more in depth but when I think the market is going to

recover and just looking at some basic dates I'm looking at tax return days so

when people have more money to put into cryptocurrency I think that's gonna be a

very very big player and something that we've seen happen before as well as some

big events and which are gonna lead to big partnerships and big investments for

some cryptocurrencies to make some major gains so again I'm gonna be talking

about that in tomorrow's video I did see someone in the Facebook group posted

about this that's why I'm gonna be covering it and giving them a shout-out

This Map Shows Where We'll Live On Mars - Duration: 5:14.

- [Narrator] We are closer to landing on Mars now

than ever before.

Private companies like SpaceX are achieving new feats

in rocket science, the likes of which we've never seen.

But rockets will only take us so far.

There are more problems unique to Mars

that still stand in our way.

One of them is, where would we live?

Mars is a desolate desert

pretty much no matter where you look.

It's not like there are any oceans or snow capped mountains

to help us decide where to settle down.

But that hasn't stopped this guy from trying

to figure it out.

- Our main goal is to investigate if it is possible

to grow crops on Mars and moon soil for people

when they go over there and live there.

- [Narrator] Wamelink and his colleague Linechug

have actually made a map of where we should live on Mars.

The map accounts for radiation levels, climate, terrain,

and perhaps most importantly, the soil.

- We looked at the amount of nutrients in the soil

for instance, calcium, magnesium,

and also other nourishments like phosphates and nitrates.

So what you would normally expect in manure.

And we also looked at the amount of ice that is available.

That is not the same everywhere on Mars.

There are areas where there's almost no ice

and there are areas with a lot of ice.

- [Narrator] The most habitable places are labeled

in dark blue on the map.

And, we're pretty familiar with some of these locations.

For example, Acidalia Planitia is just north of where

NASA's Viking 1 and Mars Pathfinder landed.

However, it looks like we should probably steer clear

of some of Mars' inactive volcanoes,

like Olympus Mons and Elysium Mons.

But how does Wamelink know whether crops

will grow at all on Mars?

Take a look at his Mars garden.

The conditions in the soil here are as similar as possible

to what we might find on Mars.

He's been harvesting it for the last five years,

and he's had some amazing success so far.

- Well, it's been a big surprise from the beginning

that many plants are able to grow on it.

The growth is almost the same as if you would use

normal potting soil from earth.

It's not completely the same, but we are getting there.

We had huge harvest of green beans.

Also tomatoes, but carrots are growing fine, even potatoes.

So many different types of crops we are now able to grow.

- [Narrator] Wamelink hopes that his work will help

lay the foundations for the first Marian farms.

After all, it's not like we can send

regular food payloads to Mars.

It takes about 10 months to even get there.

And practical launch windows only open once every two years.

On top of that, astronauts can only bring so much

freeze dried food with them.

So they'll have to learn to grown their own food indoors

on Mars if we are ever going to live there

for long periods of time.

But Wamelink hasn't just been growing plants.

He's also figured out how to make the process

as efficient and successful as possible.

The secret, earthworms.

That's right, earthworms might be some of the first

living things on Mars next to humans.

- When you're on Mars, you want to have a closed system.

So everything has to be reused and worms help with that.

- [Narrator] Earthworms feed on the dead decaying

parts of plants that we won't eat,

but that's still an essential part of the system.

They break the plant matter down during digestion

so that when they return it to the soil it actually

makes the soil more fertile.

But the most surprising thing was that they could survive

in Wamelink's Martian soil in the first place.

- The biggest surprise was first of all,

that they survived because we know that the Martian soil

is rather sharp.

They have really sharp edges.

When you look under the microscope to the soil,

you see that.

And well, since the worms eat the soil,

they get it into their gut.

And it would be the same as we, as humans, would eat

a glass that's broken.

And I expected that the worms may get hurt from it.

But apparently, they are able to cope with it

and they survived.

And they didn't even survive, they had some offspring.

And that was a big surprise for us.

- [Narrator] One of Wamelink's next big experiments

is to perfect the Martian potato.

Turns out, potatoes grow extremely well

in Wamelink's garden.

But they just don't grow to be very large.

- And that's something we have to solve because then

you get potatoes that are very small and not very tasty.

So that is what we're going to try to solve this year

in the greenhouse with a special variety of potatoes.

- [Narrator] With one more seemingly impossible hurdle

behind us, Mars seems closer than ever.

This is my 7th video, and today, I'm gonna talk about the gym and my classes.

Yay!

First, I'd like to talk about the gym.

I took a video of gym when I went there, so check the video.

Yay!

Now, I'm gonna go to the gym, so I wanna introduce you my school gym.

Yay!

How was it?

It's good, right?

All the students can use the facility for free.

And the gym has activities called "Group-X," and it's also free.

So, I'm joining many activities.

My favorite is "Zumba."

It's really fun.

This is about the gym, and next, I'd like to talk about my courses.

Now, I'm taking 6 courses, 15 units.

My choice was pretty nice, and 3 of them are activity courses, and the other 3 are lectures.

So, they are not too hard for me although I have weekly assignment to read articles.

But it's nice.

I can handle them, so it's pretty nice.

The first course is "Movement."

It's a theatre major course, and we are learning how to do combat techniques.

It's like punching and face slapping

The kind of things I'm doing.

It's really fun although it's really difficult.

I don't think I'm doing well.

It's not natural.

But it's fun.

I'm also taking history of the United States.

It's a lecture course, but the class is for non-American students.

So, the teacher teaches us really kindly.

So, it's easy for me to understand what he's saying.

Also, I'm taking dancing.

It's a dance between modern dance and ballet.

So, I'm now doing both modern and ballet.

And I think I'm doing pretty well.

I hope so.

It's really fun.

Also, the other course is "astronomy."

I'm taking astronomy lecture course and lab.

I really like astronomical things like stars, so it's fun to learn my favorite things.

And, the most difficult course for me is "RPT."

It's "Recreation, Parks, and Tourism," and it's my interest field.

But, the teacher talks really fast, and always starts talking about other things.

So, it's hard for me to understand what she is saying.

But, the course has many assignments that are really interesting.

The first one is to go outside as a group.

Actually, I went to "Fort Funston."

It's like a beach, park, kind of place.

And, I had a good time with group mates.

And, the other assignment was to do a volunteer.

And actually, I went to the concert, and did a merchandising volunteer.

I was selling goods.

That was pretty nice.

Like, I went there as a volunteer, so I was not supposed to watch the show.

But, my boss allowed me to go inside and watch a little bit.

That was a rap artist.

I love rap music.

I wanna do that again.

These are about my courses.

Yesterday, I finished all the mid terms, so now, I'm at the spring break.

Yay!!

I'll go to LA for my spring break with my friends, so I think I'll talk about LA later.

I don't know when but.

I'd like to talk about that, too.

nothing was working for them.

The boy certainly

gained some confidence

and wanted to leave to be with someone better he had

spotted.

But the girlfriend wasn't ready for it.

The day came when she phoned him,

she first talked normal and then suddenly her voice changed.

The girl started talking as if a ghost had possessed her soul.

The boy unaware of

the tools of science didn't know that all this ghost was just simply a hoax.

So he talked like a fool to his girlfriend who pretended to be possessed by this

ghost and he fought the ghost to leave his dear loves' soul alone.

He yelled,

he cried.

She hung up but he phoned again and again he tried.

Concerned, he ran to see her and fought the ghost he thought had possessed her.

but truthfully she was just an attention seeker.

Many days have passed,

the fights continued,

the relationship crumbled

and finally.

It all ended.

The heartbroken boy isolated himself from the social world

that he built the confidence in gained.

and it wasn't until today he discovered

the spectrum of light.

He'd realized that all along that act of ghost possession

was just his Ex's playwright.

sheriff I have some really good news there is a solo unlimited money glitch

that got unpatched it's gonna make you a million a pop why don't you hang with me

you guys I want to say big thank you to everybody who's active with us on the

crew by the way I cleaned up a lot of stuff after yesterday's killer

livestream and I wanted to document a solo money glitch for you guys today so

let's get to it right here and make this video very fast for you to get this

glitch going for yourself and make the best out of it you need to have a heist

that's going all you gotta do as you see I never had mine set up so I had to go

in I had to set up the first mission the first mission all you gotta do is the

prep go ahead get the ambulance and deliver it over to your facility what

this does is something very simple and that is every time you come out of a

garage is a little Paige is gonna come out from Lester saying you need to

continue the heist and that's gonna always teleport you back to your

facility that's gonna save you a ton of money when it comes to this glitch ok so

now that we got that done and out of the way let's take a look at some of the

stuff that we have here this is apartment number 7 I'm gonna make it my

spawn location this is a critical point right here I have 2 LEDs in it that are

dummies you need to spawn in that you have to have it as your location and

make sure you're in the garage not in apartment ok once you have that done get

into your facility in my case I have the thruster right here it seems like this

blitz works a lot better when you're inside the facility and coming out so

that's what we're gonna do right here now the settings for the facility is we

need to have a full facility that could be anything inside it because this

glitch requires you to get a retro allergy from a diff

garage that's the one that you need to duplicate but just make sure that the

facility is full there could be street vehicles that you have in here it could

be your custom vehicles it doesn't matter once you have all this setup

which is very easy make your way added a facility and now

call on your mechanic get the retro allergy from a different garage you can

do this glitch with any Benny vehicle because they sell for the upgrades

that's what you're trying to get back so I'm gonna grab this retro allergy right

here I'm gonna wait for it to spawn now this coming part might get you a little

bit frustrated but if you know the timing and you follow exactly what I'm

doing right here you should be a ok get into that retro allergy make sure you

have a clean plate I tested this before I added this video with the card that

didn't have a clean plate it didn't work alright so the glitch didn't work what

happened is that I spawned in my garage and it did not work so I tested it again

was a custom plate and it worked right there you drive in you accept alert you

click start instantly and right away find a new session once you see that

front tire of the car lines down on the first that little gap between the

facility and the elevator door right away you're going to be spawning into a

different session and once you spawned in there you're going to be spawning in

the garage with the option to replace a vehicle I have to social club allergies

right here that are free so I'm going to replace one of them let's go in actually

I have one that is because the other one is customized so I'm going to go toward

that pink one and I'm gonna replace it and that's gonna be basically the

duplicate you don't have to do anything about it

now if you need to make this fast you can go ahead and drive that duplicate to

another garage and get out from that garage have the car with you and accept

the Leicester alert it's gonna spawn you in your facility with the car right

beside you outside the facility when you step out so the car is from a different

garage basically that's if you want to copy and paste copy and paste easiest

solo money glitch ever make sure to drop a like player and represent for the King
