The Shady Side Of Ariana Grande - Duration: 5:58.
Ariana Grande is a pint-sized vocal powerhouse.
But she's almost as well-known for her alleged diva antics as she is for her pipes.
The onetime Nickelodeon starlet's difficult reputation as being rude to fans and impossible
to work with has started to precede her.
Here are some of her shadiest moments to date.
Break Free
Grande's been known to engage in some serious co-star conflict.
Sam & Cat ended after just one season in 2013 — and Grande's friendship with co-star Jennette
McCurdy was reportedly a casualty of the show's end, too.
McCurdy skipped out on the Kids' Choice Awards in March 2014, citing alleged "mistreatment"
from Nickelodeon and hinting that Grande was to blame for not standing up for McCurdy in
contract negotiations.
This led to some seriously shady subtweeting between the stars.
Grande pointedly omitted McCurdy from a long list of thank yous she posted once the end
of Sam & Cat officially came.
Meanwhile, McCurdy wrote a post of her own all about how she had "cut out a friend" — and
many fans believed that unnamed friend to be Grande.
She wrote, "We aren't better friends because being friends with you takes the 'better'
out of me.
In fact, I might possibly be the worst version of myself when I'm around you … Where did
I go?
As far away from you as I can get.
You won't be hearing from me anymore because sweetheart, being a friend to you was doing
so much more for you than it was doing for me.
You sucked the life right out of me, and I want my life back."
She'd later be a bit more diplomatic about the rift in an interview, saying:
"We butted heads at times but in a very sisterly well.
She knows me so well and I know her so well."
But it's not just people that know her who complain about Ariana Grande's attitude.
Problem
In 2011, Alexander DeLeon, lead singer of The Cab, tweeted, "Hope none of my fans ever
have the displeasure of meeting @ArianaGrande.
Most stuck up, disrespectful person I've ever met in this industry."
And it wasn't the last time Grande would be publicly blasted for making a bad impression.
In August 2014, one fan's father posted a blog about how rude Grande was to his daughters
at a meet and greet.
After his daughter won a contest by drawing a picture of Grande, the singer allegedly
made no secret about the fact that she wasn't impressed.
The furious father wrote, "[Grande] approached her fans without a smile — just an icy look
as she toyed with her hair.
She was surrounded by 8 to 10 assistants.
Ariana stood by, with a blank stare … She spent perhaps 15 seconds with each [of the
prize winners].
That is not an exaggeration.
They took an approved photo with her and that was it.
No small talk.
No banter … She never bothered to even ask anyone their name … Then Jen took out one
of the drawings that won the contest for her.
Kelly snapped a photo of her smiling little sister giving Ariana the drawing … 'Delete
those pictures, please,' was all Ariana said … Ariana turned to her security and ordered,
'Make sure she deleted those.'
Then, Ariana Grande walked away from her prize-winning fans without even saying goodbye."
Side to Side
When Ariana Grande shows up to a photo shoot, she's notoriously got a laundry list of demands
— chief among them, being photographed in non-natural light and only on her good side.
E! News correspondent Giuliana Rancic confirmed the horror stories about her, saying that
Grande's team shoved and bullied anyone in their way of getting Grande from her "good"
side.
She said, "I feel like where there is smoke, there is fire.
It was like you either get on the other side or we don't do an interview … It's one thing
if it's Mariah [Carey] … But when you're new on the block, trying to earn your stripes..."
Maybe next time she should focus on showing off the good side of her personality instead
of her face.
Over and Over Again
Her recent relationships have been brimming with drama, too.
When Grande first broke out of her Nickelodeon bubble, she dated YouTube star Jai Brooks.
They had an ugly split in 2013, with Brooks taking to Twitter to accuse Grande of cheating
with Nathan Sykes, who was then a member of boy band The Wanted.
Grande then openly dated Sykes, with whom she duetted on "Almost Is Never Enough" and
"Over And Over Again."
"How he handled it was a bit unexpected but um.."
Their relationship conveniently lasted from just before their single debuted to just after
it flopped on the charts, at which point she reunited with Brooks.
But that didn't last long either: she and Brooks split again in 2014.
After that, she was part of another juicy celebrity love triangle when she started dating
Big Sean, with whom she collaborated on her smashes "Right There" and "Problem."
That relationship had a sketchy beginning: They allegedly first got together when Big
Sean was still engaged to Glee star Naya Rivera.
Rivera dished about finding the two together in her memoir, writing, "We'd been fighting
for five straight days while he was traveling, and then on the one day that he was back in
L.A., he said he didn't want to see me.
I walk in [to Big Sean's house], go downstairs, and guess what little girl is sitting cross-legged
on the couch listening to music?
… It rhymes with 'Smariana Schmande.'"
Time to Lick the donuts
In 2015, on the Fourth of July no less, Grande and her then-backup dancer boyfriend, Ricky
Alvarez, went to a donut shop, where she was rude to employees.
She was captured on camera saying, "I need a donut professional in here."
But then it got so...much...worse.
She was caught on camera licking a tray of donuts for which she hadn't paid, and then
she muttered:
"What the f--- is this?
… I hate Americans.
I hate America."
When she was called out on it later, she released a statement that said, "I am extremely proud
to be an American and I've always made it clear that I love my country.
What I said in a private moment with my friend, who was buying the donuts, was taken out of
context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words....
I apologize if I have offended anyone with my poor choice of words."
The comment also lamented American obesity and demanded that the rest of the nation do
better.
Nice.
But her non-apology didn't sit well with everyone, so she tried to make it right again by saying,
"I feel like seeing a video of yourself behaving poorly that you have no idea was taken is
such a rude awakening."
Grande kept the camera rolling as her second donut apology continued over the next two-and-a-half
minutes.
"I didn't know what to do…
I was so disgusted with myself.
I shoved my face in a pillow and wanted to disappear, but instead I'm going to come forward
and own up to what I did and take responsibility."
After everything else, Ariana's bizarro donut incident may have finally left a bad taste
in some people's mouths.

An unexplained bout of ill health, persistent stroke of bad luck, a sharp decline in fortune,
an unexpected job loss, accident, sudden death, or any other calamity - now this could all
just be a coincidence or bad luck but it could also be blamed on the curse of the "evil
eye"!
For centuries, the so-called "malicious effects" of the evil eye have continued
to evoke a sense of fear among us mere mortals and the universal belief that the evil eye
is potent enough to bring about instant misfortune or injury is one that transcends civilizations,
tribes, cultures, religions, countries, and even continents!
Thus, you will find notable mention of this malevolent gaze in the ancient Greek and Roman
texts, in rabbinic literature, and also in the sacred books of the Bible and the Koran.
The concept of the evil eye was widely prevalent among the early Mediterranean and Asian tribes,
deeply embedded in the ancient Egyptian culture, and equally well-known during the times of
the Roman Empire!
Even today, the curse of the eye is as dreaded in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa as it
is looked upon with trepidation in the Americas and Europe!
Not to forget its long-standing symbolism in almost all major religions of the world,
including Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Buddhism.

Regardless of the varying thoughts about when and how the belief in the evil eye came into
being and spread its tentacles across the globe, it is evident that this notion is an
antique one that has been handed down from one generation to another, across geographies,
religions, and cultures.
Rationalisation of the Fear and Influence of the Evil Eye

Well, it is the special power of the eyes that underpins the propagation of the thought

Moreover, the belief that the curse of the Eye can also inflict harm on one's loved
ones and livestock makes the evil eye more fearsome for people worldwide, albeit with
varying intensities.
Tales abound about how cattle and children died, plants and trees perished, cows failed
to produce milk, and more - all because they were subjected to a spiteful glare!
What Provokes The Curse of the Evil Eye?
So, what could be the possible reasons that could induce an onlooker to direct a curse
towards someone?
The obvious explanation for this tendency can be sought in the feeling of jealousy or
envy that is natural to humans along with a host of other emotions.
One's enviable success, wealth, happiness, and beauty can quickly become the cause of
envy for others, at times to such an extent that it invites a maliciously intended stare
or gaze, capable of ruining all the prosperity and good fortune of the target!
Excessive adulation or praise is also believed to attract the attention of the evil eye.
This concept has been aptly elucidated by the Greek writer, Heliodorus of Emesa in his
famous Greek novel, Aethiopica.
According to Heliodorus, "When any one looks at what is excellent with an envious eye he
fills the surrounding atmosphere with a pernicious quality, and transmits his own envenomed exhalations
into whatever is nearest to him".
Apart from jealousy, a deep-seated dislike can further prompt a person to put a curse
on someone by leveraging the evil eye.
The Significance of the Eye Color Other than a person's nefarious intentions
and feelings of jealousy and contempt, the color of one's eyes is also said to determine
whether he or she is capable of transmitting the evil eye!
People belonging to certain parts of the world are thought to be more adept in bestowing
a curse as opposed to their counterparts.
This is said to be true of Turkey's Aegean Region where people with green or blue-colored
eyes are relatively rare.
It is believed that such people, with light-colored eyes, possess an uncanny ability to throw
a spell on others.
This belief was also corroborated by Plutarch who claimed that some of the natives of the
south of the Black Sea had a stronger ability to deliver the curse with their evil looks!
Ways to Negate the Harmful Effects of the Sinister Glare
Just as our profound belief in the evil eye dates back thousands of years, attempts to
repel its curse with protective talismans and eye amulets or "nazars" have also
been doing the rounds for centuries now.
According to art history professor, Dr. Nese Yildiran, the earliest form of the nazars
or eye amulets can be traced to 3,300 BC in one of Mesopotamia's oldest cities - Tell
Brak.
These amulets, made out of alabaster, depicted eye images incised on them.
The present-day blue glass amulets made their appearance in the Mediterranean much later,
i.e., not until around 1500 BCE.
The use of protecting imagery to thwart the ill will of the evil eye was also common among
the early Egyptians who relied heavily on the symbolic image of the "Eye of Horus"
or "Wadjet" to dispel the curse.
They designed their funerary amulets in the shape of the Wadjet and also painted the symbol
on their ships to ensure the latter's safety on the seas.
The Greeks made use of incense or the cross to ward off the curse, Scottish farmers safeguarded
their livestock with red ribbons tied to the tails of the animals, while the ancient Phoenicians
resorted to beaded necklaces featuring eye symbols for defense against the evil eye.
In recent times, apotropaic talismans, such as handmade balls showcasing concentric circles
or teardrop shapes in dark blue, white, light blue, and black are a common sight across

hey everyone it's Ian K back again with another one for ya
cheaters cam style after hours here at BK take a look at the latest sweet treat
they have on the menu the all new frosted frozen Fanta lemonade pretty
much a nice blended lemonade drink with their vanilla soft serve so I thought
I'd give you a fast look to see exactly what this one is all about this was only
2 bucks and that's actually a pretty good price for the size that I've got
here right now guys but let's just get into this real quick and see exactly how
this is it's very thick and it smells very much like lemon as you'd expect it
to let's see how sweet it is mmm wow that's almost like an orange
creamsicle but with lemon they basically filled about half of this
with that vanilla soft serve and then put in the blended a Fanta lemonade on
top of it there it's very much like a whip slushy drink and it really is
reminding me of a creamsicle only it's not orange it's lemon and I really dig
that mmm it's very thick so thick I think I'm actually gonna use a spoon
with this real fast and I'll give you a fast look at what it looks like up close
in just a second definitely thick as you guys can see let's keep going mmm that
is super refreshing really really tasty you got to love that refreshing flavor
of lemon that's blended up very very nicely with this one guys it's very
similar to like Italian ice if you guys know what that is definitely found that
ever since I was a kid very much a nice whipped blended slushy type of lemon and
I'm absolutely diggin it it goes very well with the soft-serve here mixed in
with that vanilla and I'm really glad they serve this with those milkshake
tops over here guys so you can actually get a spoon in here and really dig it
even further because it's good with a straw but it's very thick as you guys
can see where the flavor is off the chart and for 2 bucks pretty nice mmm
and hey if lemon is not your thing you can actually get this with coke which is
kind of cool I may have to come back and give that one a shot
so definitely pretty tasty let me know in the comments down below if you guys
are interested to give this one a shot I'd highly recommend it if you're a fan
of lemon anyway I think you're gonna give this a go regardless of what I have
to say about it but I wouldn't recommend it if you guys like the vanilla soft
serve here at BK anyway it's a nice combination the combination goes
extremely well and you get them richness of that lemon along with the
super flavorfulness the vanilla but drop those comments down below and let
me know what you think of this one and as for the overall score I'm gonna have
to give the frosted frozen Fanta lemonade here at BK a rock-solid 9 out
of 10 it's just 2 simple ingredients that really blend together to give you a
very very nice sweet treat that's not too overly sweet but with nice hints of
lemon and of course that vanilla soft serve easily recommended on this one and
guys for 2 bucks like I said look at the size of this thing so there you go guys
my thoughts on the latest sweet treat over here at BK after hours cheaters
cam style as we close out another episode of peep this out and like I

There are three big areas that have driven me through my career,
firstly saving our threatened and extinct native species and indeed we've had
species in our laboratory collections, which have gone extinct just after we've
collected them; so having those and protecting them and then attempting to
rebuild their damaged landscapes has been important. The second part of our
program is how do you restore much of this of the Australian landscape that
that has suffered land degradation. This is either through over clearing, through
the mining process, through urban development, weeds, fire and so on. The bit
that's most close to my heart of course is the discovery of the chemical and
smoke that's so important for stimulating germination of Australian
bush land plants, but I guess the exciting thing about the research has
actually been able to take things like the smoke discovery, our threatened
species conservation, the way we were repair damaged landscapes and bring it
together as packages, not only for mums and dads and community groups, but way
out into a whole range of different industries. And the mining industry and
we have currently around 22 active partners with our Curtin Centre for Mine
Site Restoration, have been absolutely instrumental in building the depth of
the science, and the broad applications so that all Australians in the future
can look at this land with better eyes, with more species preserved and
conserved then they've had in the past. And I think the next stage of my journey is a
very exciting one, sharing those broader technological and research capabilities
with the global community.
