and this is the second step that's very

lot easier let's launch it and go from

there all right boys so you know with

other glitches how you kind of take some

time in order to set up for a lot of

things that you're doing well is this

one it's very very easy here's what I'm

gonna do I'm gonna exit outside and I'm

gonna request a mobile operation center

inside my mobile operation center I have

a retro allergy okay so you might have

your retro allergy in any other garage

that doesn't make a difference you go

ahead and request it from there I'm

setting up for the glitch so I'm showing

you guys exactly what I'm doing on my

side okay if you're inside the car like

this and you can't request the mobile

Operations Center just step outside and

it should highlight and then you can

pull it on the map so I'm get a wait for

it to spawn I do know that I have a

retro in there during the time that it's

spawning I'm gonna shoot an invite to

one of my friends that's active and I'm

controlling Adrian's profile as well so

this way I could bring him into the game

so invite the game alright and he should

be popping into the session you do need

a friend for this so do drop your name

what system you're playing on and if

your active at this point and you guys

can help each other

so here's my mobile operation center I'm

gonna go ahead

right here I'm gonna go inside the

mobile operation center and I'm just

waiting for my friend to spawn at the

same time so this should give us time

because I'm gonna set you up in the

beginning just to show you exactly what

nightclub and a lot of people that mixes

so we have our friend right here okay he

got into the vehicle and we're gonna

start going toward a nightclub couple of

things we need to remember as we're

standing out here you're gonna go up

here and you're gonna say last location

okay so the spawning area that you get

to spawn to every time you come into a

different lobby you need to be last

location so let me set that up right

here and now we're going to go inside

the club okay let's take a drive inside

with retro and I'll show you guys

exactly what your friend is gonna do and

the car it's very simple what he's gonna

do on his side he's gonna pop up the

interaction menu or the Start menu is

job he can launch whatever he wants from

there okay so let me grab his controller

and if you guys keep looking in the back

here you're gonna see that he will

launch into tight another job give me

one second here alright so I just

launched him into Titan of a job okay

now he is gonna be sitting there if you

are an Xbox Live you gotta be careful a

little bit because you will get this

black party screen that might pull you

in

alright from this point on your side

what you have to do is exit the

nightclub right here on this screen

you're gonna say exit nightclub we're

not gonna select a lower option okay so

that's the option we're going with let's

step outside and I'll show you what you

have to do next the next step is very

simple and that's you basically trying

to get the game to force save okay what

we're gonna do right here is we're gonna

pull up the interaction menu I'm gonna

go towards style and we're gonna pick up

something different okay so I'm gonna

pick up outfit number 14 in my case and

this way we kind of force the game to

save okay if you look at the lower

corner you should see like an orange

circle that spawns up there it is right

there the game just got for saving right

there from this point we're gonna click

start online and we're gonna find a new

session

once you spawn inside the new session

like this just pull up on your phone and

let's call call one of the free

allergies from the social club and call

on them to bring them out right here so

let me see which garage might have it in

my case I might have something down here

in garage level three

let me see not in this one garage level

four I might have a free allergy there

it is right here okay it's in the last

spot so I'm gonna call on this one I'm

gonna request it here now remember your

friend is sitting in a friends-only

session right so that's the session that

we're gonna try to join later and

because we requested a free Eames

session in the beginning that should

give it a lot better chance for you to

join his session that he's in okay we're

gonna take the car and we are gonna go

inside the same nightclub level that

your friend is are standing in if you

wanna make note of the plate now's the

time to do it it Ames was eight ninety

let's go ahead and drive in I'm gonna

drive in the first level and it tells

you adding this vehicle will cause your

current stored personal vehicle to

transfer to the other garage you're

gonna say yes once you're inside the

nightclub we're gonna do something very

similar to what we just did we're gonna

do the exact thing that we did just a

few seconds ago we're gonna exit the

level and once we exit the level we need

to force the game to save okay so that's

what we're trying to do right here as

you can see this is a public session

people are dying at the bottom so you're

not in the same session with your friend

we're gonna go ahead and go for this

outfit right here and we're gonna wait

for the orange circle to show itself

you gotta make sure that the game says

okay

from this point what you got to do is

click start online and now we're gonna

say join friends ok now you're trying to

join the same friend again this might

take a couple of tries now let's see how

many times is gonna take us here

all right so the first attempt we

spawned in boys and girls with the free

aim it was the first attempt that we got

into the same level that he's in as well

so let's get into the same level and

take the card that's in there and drive

it out once you walk inside you should

find your car still sitting here you

don't have the social allergy or

anything like that now he's still stuck

in here right now make note of the plate

five one nine and we can exit and once

you exit right there you saw the flip on

the plate now it's eight nine zero now

one last step that all of us are always

used to is we're gonna call on the

mobile operation center again if you see

it like this and it tells you your

mobile operation center is not empty all

you got to do is step out request it and

go back into the car it should give you

the mobile operation center now you guys

this is giving you a brand new plate on

the vehicle okay so you get a brand new

plate you don't have to worry about

custom plates or anything like that my

advice to you don't sell over three cars

per day and you need to spread them out

a little bit even my advice for people

that are veterans on the game is don't

sell over one car a day and when you're

selling one car a day you need to kind

of give this car a lot of damage okay

I'll show you exactly what I mean right

here as we go into the mobile Operations

Center make sure you have a storage in

the back so a vehicle storage has to be

in the back of the operation center it's

not a problem if you want to have a

weapon workshop here but you gotta make

sure that you have a mobile operation

center right here in the back

did I say mobile Operations Center no a

vehicle storage in the back okay let's

step outside and I'll show you a small

trick here that you need to do if you

are selling these vehicles ok

back-to-back or maybe three of them a

day if you go into the Los Santos

customs there is a set amount for these

vehicle right there is a set amount that

even Rockstar knows and

the system knows about it so I'm gonna

damage this vehicle as much as I can and

some of the best areas for you to damage

it I'll show it to you right here so

when you take a jump like this one here

just nosedive and this way the vehicle

takes some more damage you can still

drive it into other cars that's gonna

help you as well but the whole point of

this is when you go into the low same

tools to manat the same price as the

original vehicle when it's getting sold

okay so what's the price on it right now

if you want to sell it the price is 705

now it's 705 because there is a lot of

vehicle discounts happening right now

this vehicle should sell for a lot but

let's say we repair it right you can see

that discount right here if you do want

to sell it you can see that it goes up

to 7 or 7 so that changes the price for

you a little bit and it gives you a

break when it comes to the server's

tracking you in order to know if you're

selling these cars back to back to back

Planet X3 Status Update - Part 3 - Duration: 20:20.

Today I'm going to give you the 3rd official update on the progress of Planet X3, my real-time

strategy game for MS-DOS computers.

For those who are not already familiar with this, I created Planet X2 for the Commodore

64 last year, then after the success of that, I promised to port it to MS-DOS machines.

However, this new game has taken on a life of its own.

I also launched a kickstarter a few months ago, hoping to get around 500 pre-orders or

$30,000 worth of pre-sales.

And it ended up with 2,548 backers, totaling over $113,000.

So, in this video, I want to not only show you some of the progress that has been made

since the kickstarter video, but I also want to try to answer some of the frequently asked

questions.

One of the most common questions I get is people wanting to know what language I'm

coding in, and what tools I'm using.

So to answer the first big question, even though I'm mentioned it before, I'm coding

directly in 8088 assembly language.

This is what the source code looks like.

I get a lot of people asking why I am not coding it in BASIC or C or some high level

language.

The bottom line is I need the speed and efficiency to make this work on low-end MS-DOS machines.

And as far as tools go, I'm really only using three tools.

One is notepad, which I write the source code in.

And then I use a compiler called A86 to compile the code into machine language.

So, that's my second tool.

And then the 3rd tool is DOSBOX, which I use for most of the testing.

Of course, I've had to write some of my own tools, which I'll talk about later.

For bug tracking, I am doing it very simple.

I just have another notepad with a list of bugs that I've found.

When I find a new bug, I add it to the list.

And then, I have a list of things that aren't bugs, but just stuff I haven't finished

coding yet.

Of course this list keeps getting smaller over time.

In fact, I can remove this right now, as I just finished the sentry tank's code.

And then I have another list of things that are sort of back burner, however, I already

finished this one as well, so I'll take it off.

So that's how I track bugs and what is left to do.

And what about version control?

Well, every day I just create a folder on my server.

I call it snapshot and today's date.

Then I copy all of the sources and binaries into that folder.

Every now and then I need to go back and look at an older source, or if I really screw something

up and want to just revert a subroutine back to the older version, that's how I do it.

Nothing fancy.

No need to use Github or anything like that.

So what am I working on now?

Lately I've spent a lot of time working on pathfinding routines.

Let me demonstrate what I mean.

So, if I tell my builder to pick up this rock.

And then have a look at these walls over here.

I'm using these for testing.

So if I tell it to drop the rock over here, the builder has to be able to find its way

around the obstacle.

And for simple obstacles like this it seems to be working.

So here's a bit larger obstacle.

Again, it finds its way around.

OK, so that's great for walls, what about other objects.

Let me drop the rock over here, and again, it finds its way.

This is good enough for the user-controlled units, but this same pathfinding routine will

also be used for the enemy units, so it has to work without supervision.

Now, I want to show you something else.

Pressing F1 will bring up a little cheat or debug menu at the moment.

And what it shows is everything that is stored in memory about the unit you are currently

controlling.

But also, you can use the arrow keys and scroll to other units and see all of their information

as well.

And, if I press the G key, it will take me to wherever that unit is on the map.

But this isn't just limited to my units, I can also look at enemy units.

So, if I scroll up to unit 64, which is where the enemy units are, I can go to that one,

and yeah, there's quite a few of these piled up here because they can't get across the

water, just yet.

I'll be fixing that soon.

But this is particularly helpful in troubleshooting enemy pathfinding.

For example, I can watch a unit as soon as it pops out of the pyramid and starts trying

to find its way to my base.

Now, this is on a different map here, this is called inferno.

It's kind of a wasteland with a lot of meteor impacts.

Now, this guy isn't having too much trouble navigating his way through this as it's

mostly open space.

Now, I'll skip ahead a bit.

Eventually he gets to a part of the map where there are a lot of obstacles.

At first it looks like he can handle anything that comes his way.

But, eventually he gets stuck.

The problem is, the base he's headed for is directly to the right of him about 20 tiles

over.

But there's no way through the lava without going around something quite large.

He's not smart enough to do this.

So he'll just walk around this spot forever.

And eventually, here comes one of his pals.

And over time a bunch of them will just pile up here.

So how do I solve that?

Well, a combination of ways.

First off, I can try to improve the pathfinding routine even more.

The second thing I can do is change the map to make it easier for them to find their way.

Ultimately, just like with my previous game, I'll wind up doing both.

On the map side, I will just start up the map editor, which is a separate program I

had to write.

That's one of those many little tools I mentioned earlier that I had to create.

So, I'll tell it to load the map called "Inferno" and here we are.

So this is where the originating base was.

And I made note of the coordinates where the trouble spot was.

So, I'll just find my way over there.

Yep, here it is.

I'll just go to the tile selector and pick dirt.

Then place it here so that the units can get through.

So I want to talk about another technical challenge I faced.

I'm really thrilled with how the CGA video looks.

In order to try it out on some real steal, my friend the Obsolete Geek brought over his

IBM 5155 portable.

The internal display is monochrome, but it's still compatible with CGA graphics only instead

of 4 colors you get 4 shades of amber.

But, it actually looks really good.

It's definitely very playable like this.

And, despite being a 4.77 Mhz CPU, it runs decently fast as well.

In fact, seeing this is part of the joy of having my game work on these older systems

since hardly any new MS-DOS releases have been compatible with machines like this since

probably the early 1990s.

Anyway, this machine also has a CGA composite output on the back, so you can connect a color

monitor or television.

And you'll get a full 16 colors if the game supports composite mode, which mine does.

And not only does it work, but it looks fantastic.

This is how it has looked on every IBM machine I have tried it on so far.

And it looks great!

And I keep asking myself why did so few software titles support this mode?

Well, I think I may have found part of the answer.

I have discovered a lot of clone machines don't work right.

For example, my Laser 128 will run the game in composite mode, but it often come up with

bizarre colors.

In fact it's somewhat random, because I can reboot the thing and it will come up with

a different set of colors.

Well, let me explain what I believe is going on.

If you look at the video signal being generated by these computers, and imagine this is the

pixel clock.

And, there's another signal in a composite video feed, which is the color clock or color

burst or whatever.

Anyway, on a true IBM CGA card, these are always synced like this at every single boot.

So, the color clock happens once every 4 pixels, so by arranging the pixels in different ways

you get 16 possible combinations creating 16 artifact colors.

The trouble is, Some machines like my laser 128 will lock these in one of 4 random positions

at boot up.

And you never know which one it is going to be, either.

This was really frustrating, as it could make the video boot up in all sorts of weird colors

and the only thing I could do was reboot the machine and hope for the best.

I had a 25% chance of getting the right palette.

However, eventually I had an idea.

Even though there is no way to change the synchronization of the color signal from software,

I do have control over the pixels, right?

So let me show you what I did.

In the last video I showed you how in standard 4-color mode you could change the color palette

between the cool and warm CGA color palettes.

Well, in composite mode that menu option had no effect.

So what I did was changed the code so that in composite mode, it will shift all the pixels

on the screen over by one.

And so if it still doesn't look right, just push it again.

It will rotate back around every 4 times.

But, one of the options should fix everything so that it looks right, or at least close

to right.

My Tandy 1000 also suffers from a similar problem, only it always starts up with the

exact same wrong palette.

So pressing this option twice should fix it on a Tandy.

Unfortunately, the Tandy just doesn't look as good on composite no matter what.

The pixels are somewhat in the wrong places, and I don't know why.

However, I'm not terribly concerned since I support the Tandy 16 color graphics mode

anyway so there is no need to use composite on one of these.

Anyway, this does suggest at least one possible reason why CGA composite mode was never popular.

As, many clones did start to appear in the early days.

But, at least I was able to find a way around the problem.

However, I had another similar idea.

I had recently added the CGA monochrome mode as well.

While this doesn't look terribly exciting, it is still playable.

And where this comes in particularly handy is on certain old laptops with monochrome

LCD screens.

Many of these laptops start off with the screen being inverted like a photo negative, because

they felt it made the text easier to read.

But this could be problematic when playing games.

Many machines had a special key sequence that could be used to invert the screen for games,

and some required a special DOS program, and some there was just nothing you could do.

I decided to make this menu option cause a negative image, which would look crazy on

most computers, but on these old laptops it actually corrects it to look right and playable.

So, the next thing I want to show you is another one of my tools.

And you've probably seen this before.

I created a tiledraw program to help me design the tiles.

But this program does so much more than that.

You can really change a lot of the behavior of the game from here.

For example, each tile you can define things like, can you drive on it, can you bulldoze

it, can you pick it up and move it, etc.

Also, you can define what a tile becomes when it is destroyed by changing this attribute

here.

In fact, many of the bugs I find in the game aren't even in code, but rather I have an

attribute set incorrectly in here.

Fortunately, it is easy to change.

However, over time, my artist Renaud started using his own paint program and simply sending

me the tiles as a single set.

And, so what I did as created an import feature where I could import the entire set at once

from his master image with a single keystroke.

And so that has made life a lot easier.

But I also had to create a different tile editor for every single video mode, including

the 2-color CGA monochrome mode, as well as the CGA composite mode and Tandy modes.

Speaking of artwork, I wanted to show you some of the new artwork.

I'll select this map called winter.

This is just a test map, but it shows off the winter graphics tile set.

What's neat about this is each map can load a custom tile set.

And it's more than just different tiles, as the tiles can also have different attributes.

So, for example, I have snowmen in this map, which has no analogous tile in the other maps.

So this gives a lot of flexibility to creating new landscapes.

There's not much here in this winter map, as I said it is mostly just a test map.

Also there's a bit of snow on top of some of the buildings here as well.

And moving along, this is another map called desert.

And there are a lot of neat features in this tile set as well, but again this is just a

test-map so there isn't a whole lot to see here.

In fact, yeah, there's the abrupt end to my stream.

And here's some minerals crammed up in here.

And, here's what the winter mode looks like in CGA 4-color mode.

Notice there are a few black tiles because the tile-set is not 100% completed for this

mode.

And speaking of new graphics, this is probably what everyone has been waiting to see.

Last month I created yet another tile-draw program, and this one was designed for VGA

graphics.

And just in time for the finished 256-color artwork that Renaud was working on.

It took me about 4 or 5 days to get the tile editor completely converted to work with 256

color VGA graphics.

But the great thing is, many of the screen drawing routines I had to design here were

easily transferrable to the game itself.

Now, before I show you the game itself, I wanted to mention something else.

These are all the different video modes I had planned to support.

The first 4 modes are all handled by the CGA version of the game, even the Tandy mode.

That's because all of these modes use a 16K video RAM configuration so 99% of the

code is the same.

There are only a few tweaks required to the code, and mostly it is just having different

artwork custom designed for each mode.

However, the VGA version needed its own executable.

It required quite a bit of modification to the code since the entire memory map is laid

out differently.

It took a couple of weeks to get the game working in VGA mode.

And now I have two entirely different sets of source codes I have to keep up with.

Fortunately, most of the code that I'm working on now is stuff like pathfinding routines,

which don't really deal with the video card directly.

So that means I can simply paste the new code into both sources for the most part.

So here's the VGA version of the game that everyone has been waiting to see.

Well, it doesn't look too impressive at the menu.

That's because I don't have the VGA menu graphics in from my artist yet.

So I just converted the CGA menu graphics for now, but this is actually running in VGA

mode whether it looks like it or not.

So, let's start a game.

And here it is.

Yeah, I'm pretty proud of how it looks.

And I think most of the credit here goes to Renaud for his awesome artwork.

Now, there's a few things I need to tell you about this version.

For one, you may notice these pink looking areas around some of the units like my builder,

tank, and especially the aliens.

And that's because I'm planning to implement transparency.

So what you are seeing is sort of like looking at unfinished special effects shots that are

shot in front of a blue-screen or green-screen.

I simply haven't added the code yet to fill in the transparent areas.

This is something the CGA version does not do at all.

But I felt the VGA version probably should.

So, for the moment it looks tacky, but in the next update that should be fully working.

Also, I do not have the graphics yet for winter and desert landscapes.

So I imported the CGA composite graphics into the VGA version for now, so that's what

it looks like for the moment when using maps that depend on those graphics.

I'm sure I'll have the complete VGA graphics soon.

A lot of people have been asking what sort of CPU would be required to run the VGA version.

And, I just haven't been able to give an answer to that because I didn't have any

code written so I had no way to really know.

Well, now I know.

So, while the CGA version was designed to work on a 4.77 Mhz IBM XT, the VGA version

has 4 times as much data to move around, and it really requires at a minimum a 286 running

at 10 Mhz.

Which is probably fine as it's pretty rare to see VGA running on an XT class machine

anyway.

However, I do have a video clip here from Lorin, who's one of my testers.

He has it running on an IBM PS/2 system in this video, which is a 286 running at 10 Mhz.

And it does work, although it can be a bit sluggish at times.

And when people ask my why I'm not supporting EGA , Hercules, or Tandy hi-res graphics,

the main reason is because each of these modes would require a complete conversion with its

own executable.

And since I'm just one guy, I just decided not to support these modes.

Not to say that I couldn't support them in the future, but certainly not in the initial

release.

Ok, enough about graphics modes.

Let's talk about sound and music.

Now, in the last video I kind of put out a help-wanted request to see if anybody was

wiling to code the sound and music routines for me.

And, I had several people apply for the job, but I ended up hiring Alex "Shiru" Semenov,

who is a veteran programmer for sound and music on a variety of different platforms.

And, I had a decision to make about how to support music across multiple platforms.

I wanted to support the PC-Speaker with its one voice.

And then the Tandy 3-voice sound system, along with the Adlib which has 9 voices.

I wanted to be able to use essentially the same tunes for each device.

Now, I knew that with advanced programming, you could get at least two more phantom voices

out of the PC-Speaker.

This is done by alternating the voices quickly to create an illusion of multiple voices.

So, what I decided to do was draw a line at 3 voices.

I felt like 3 would be enough, and this way all 3 supported devices would be able to play

the same tunes.

Plus, we can use some of the extra voices on the Ad-Lib card for sound effects.

And for the PC-Speaker, we'll just have to alternate between music or sound effects.

And the Tandy is an interesting case.

After all, it still has a PC-Speaker which can act as a 4th voice, so we'll probably

use that for sound-effects here as well.

This was actually a common design back in the day.

In fact, Ultima VI uses the PC-speaker for all sound effects no matter what card you

have for music.

So, I want to show you the tracker that Alex has designed.

This one tracker supports all 3 sound cards.

One thing is does for the PC-Speaker, though, is that different tracks get different priority

over the one voice.

So the left-most channel here is given the least priority, and if anything comes across

on the middle, then it is given higher priority, and of course the right channel gets the highest

priority.

And I'll show you how this sounds.

He's composed one demo song with the tracker.

OK so, right now you are hearing the PC-Speaker.

It's actually pretty impressive for a one-voice setup.

OK, let's have a listen to the Tandy 3-Voice version.

This sounds noticeably better, especially on sustained notes.

And finally here's the Ad-Lib version.

Not bad for only using 3 voices.

Now all that needs to be done is to integrate the sound and music routine into the actual

source code of the game itself, which I hope to happen sometime in the next month or so.

All right, and the last thing I wanted to mention, since a lot of people have been asking.

There were only originally 500 boxed copies of Planet X2 for the Commodore 64.

Due to minimum order quantities, I never ordered any more than that.

However, one of the options in the kickstarter was the deluxe version which comes with a

copy of Planet X2.

And, there were 836 people that selected this option, which really surprised me.

Well, I knew I had enough pre-orders then to go ahead and order separate boxes for Planet

X2.

So I've already ordered 1,000 boxes for Planet X2 so that means I can sell around

163 copies to those who might have missed out on the original boxed copy.

lite copies as well.

But, what about the disks themselves?

Well, just today I invited some people over where we had a little disk copy party.

We all setup our Commodore machines and made copies of Planet X2 while eating pizza and

generally having a good time.

So, disks are ready!

And I imagine we'll be doing something similar when the code is finished for Planet X3.

Only we'll have MS-DOS machines setup instead.

So, to answer the question about when I'm going to get more Planet X2 in stock, well,

they're coming real soon.

Hopefully in the next week or two you'll be able to buy that again.

Now, to answer the next two questions, which is what if you missed out on the kickstarter

for Planet X3?

A lot of people seem to think that was the only way to get one, and I just wanted to

confirm that those will be for sale after the fact, so even if you didn't get in on

the kickstarter, you'll still be able to get a copy of it, so don't worry about that.

And, of course, people are wanting to know when Planet X3 might actually be done.

And that, I don't know yet.

I'm really kind of hoping by the end of the year, so maybe around December or so.

Can't make any promises.

But that's the current plan.

hi guys it's Taylor and we have a lot to

cover in one video on the episode 1

recap of Mayans MC in this video I will

run through the recap to refresh your

memory of the episode before you watch

episode 2 just be careful of spoilers if

you have not seen the episode the

episode begins when EZ rides past a

graffiti marked wall reading divided we

fall as a stray dog is devouring a dead

crow on the roadside divided we fall

serves as the theme of this episode one

possible explanation behind the

symbolism of the dog appearing while

eating the crow is a callback to the

opening shot of Episode one of Sons of

Anarchy when Jax teller was riding down

the highway at night and two crows were

eating a dead dove the two shots were

very similar and it could be as simple

as that another possibility for the

symbolism behind this scene is in the

literal sense during the press panels

and interviews before the premiere

episode Kurt Sutter was very open and

honest about his feelings towards his

failed series the bastard executioner

this scene with the dog eating a crow

could very literally mean that Kurt

Sutter has eaten crow showing us

visually that Kurt Sutter has swallowed

his pride and admitted that the bastard

executioner didn't work out but is ready

to move forward with the Mayans MC this

stray dog does pop up now and again

throughout the episode directly

referencing the title Perro/Oc I don't

expect to see this dog again in future

episodes instead I suspect we will see a

different animal symbolically appear in

each episode that animal being the one

the title is named after actually wrote

an article breaking down the episode

titles and what they mean I will link

that down below in case you want to

learn more there were two flashbacks in

this episode to build upon

EZ's backstory the first revealed that

eight years ago ez was a current student

at stanford university while he dated

his girlfriend Emily a senior at the

Santo Padre Regional High School at the

time the second flashback also taking

place eight years ago was inside of the

Stockton visitation center where ez was

facing a 20-year prison sentence making

a choice for both of them he broke up

with Emily to keep her from waiting on

him Emily then reveals that she is

pregnant by showing EZ the ultrasound

photo stating now she has to make a

choice EZ gets into a fight with the

prison guards as Emily leaves showing us

that Gemma Teller was there as well

this timeline may place Gemma visiting

the men of SAMCRO since they were

arrested in the season 3 finale and the

premiere of season 4 of SOA did have a

14 month time jump

so this incident could have fallen in

between those two seasons but other than

that this cameo is just more of a

fanservice than a plot device at this

time it is alluded to that Emily either

had an abortion or put the baby up for

adoption

since the eight-year timeline does not

add up to her baby boy's age so the baby

Emily has right now cannot be EZ's in

the dress warehouse the Santo Padre

Charter ways and stows keys of heroin

inside dresses to prepare for a Las

Vegas run it is also revealed as

president Bishop and the

sergeant-at-arms Hank discuss easy that

he had six years shaved off his prison

sentence and served his probation in

Hollister California despite running a

background check on ez I did find it

interesting that questions did not arise

as to why the DA shaved off six years

before his release now there were also

many big reveals in the premiere episode

one EZ is an informant and only his

father Felipe knows he meets his father

in his butcher shop and hands him what

looks like a folded brown paper bag

marked with a series of numbers and

letters I have yet to decode what this

message was I've looked into GPS

coordinates police scanner codes medical

codes and even the Bible so if you have

any ideas on this code please tell me in

the comments later in the episode ez

meets with the DEA agent Kevin and we

learned that EZ doesn't want his deal to

touch his brother or the club and as

soon as the DEA has enough info to move

on the cartel ez wants to walk away it

is also made clear that Kevin does not

have any regard for EZ even seeing him

in person inside the meat cooler making

EZ confrontational felipe reyes is also

not happy about the situation but he's a

protective father who is willing to help

his son get his life back we learned

from the scene outside the butcher shop

that angel and Felipe have a strained

relationship and that angel is unaware

of easy situation with the DEA it is

also revealed that Mama Reyes is is no longer

in the picture having died about eight

years ago the timeline of EZ's arrest

and the death of Mama Reyes coincide

perhaps it is a coincidence or maybe

these two events are even connected

another big reveal is that Angel Gilly

and Coco are betraying the other club

members by aligning with Adelita and her

rebels these hints are dropped

throughout the rest of the episode

during the Las Vegas run the shipment is

hijacked by a group of masked men I

discussed in a previous video after the

official trailer was released that these

sisters of sorrow written on the school

bus in the scene was an easter egg from

Kurt Sutters comic book series of the

same name so I thought I'd mention that

again here in case you also noticed this

scene is filled with hints that

something is brewing inside the club

which is built upon further knowing that

Gilly Coco and Angel were behind the

hijacking makes the fact that Riz

almost burned alive in the truck and

that Creeper got shot all the more

intense the group is later revealed to

be the Samoan base town tribe

thanks to EZ's photographic memory of

the tattoo BTT as the Santo Padre

Charter meets with Miguel Galindo to

answer for the 2.4 million dollar loss

in product Miguel also mentions the

Chinese foreshadowing another Chinese

faction will be present in Mayans MC

being pointed in the right direction the

Santo Padre Charter goes after the

Samoans in the new Nunez cemetery to

bring Afa to Miguel

during the shootout expert marksmen Coco

has Afa in his crosshairs but misses

the shot grazing him rather than killing

him

- which Bishop exclaims they need him

alive Coco meant to kill Afa to keep

things from getting out this further

tells you that whenever Coco says my bad

he basically means he did it on purpose

this is where we see Les Packer and Samdino arrived as backup for these special

guest appearance I actually like this

scene because it really just showed the

camaraderie that is still there years

down the road between the sons of

anarchy and Mayans MC after alpha is

tortured by Miguel president Bishop and

his older title patch holders are made

aware that the Los Olvidados are

responsible before miguel leaves the

Santo Padre Charter to do his work he

makes a statement about being late to

dinner with his family as he looks over

at EZ insinuating that he knows easy

used to date his wife I could have

misread the signal but I thought that I

contact was a little bit too intense for

such a simple statement to not mean

anything important

while disposing of Afa's body Angel

then brings his brother EZ in on their

twist introducing him to Adelita and

her rebels

with Gilly and Coco and tow these

younger full-patch members have made a

deal with Adelita and her orphan rebels

giving them information against their

own club Angel explains that Alvarez and

Bishop are holding onto an old deal with

a dead man and that igMuel Galindo and

his cartel will bury the club if they

don't take matters into their own hands

Adelita has her own personal reasons for

wanting to take out the cartel and even

when Angel reveals that she may be in

danger as the Samoans were caught she

makes a very chilling statement about

knowing the risk and they are prepared

to make Galindo suffer as they have

suffered Adelita then orders her orphans

to jump Emily and her baby by sending a

text message to other rebels in a car

casing out Emily and Miguel as they

leave the restaurant back in the

clubhouse Church Room Marcus Alvarez

meets with president Bishop Hank and

Taza Alvarez and Bishop discussed that

working for Jose Galindo was different

and Miguel does not conduct himself with

the same honor as his father once did

Hank and Taza are then tasked with the

investigation into the identity of

Adelita by questioning a man named Louie

and the dogwood crew for information

there was a lot established in this

first episode and there are just as many

things to look out for in Episode two

that episode based on what was

Barry Jenkins Talks James Baldwin Film 'If Beale Street Could Talk' | TIFF 2018 - Duration: 2:52.

- If Beale Street Could Talk

is an adaptation of the same name James Baldwin novel

and it's about a young couple,

Tish and Fonny, who are engaged

and when Fonny is falsely accused

of a crime he did not commit,

Tish must race against the clock

to bring both the baby to term

and her lover back to freedom.

- That sounded like the IMDB description--

- (laughs) It was memorized.

- That was really good, that was really good,

right there Barry.

(upbeat music)

- You know actually it was kind of a promise

I made to myself 'cause I wrote this script

at the same time that I wrote the script for Moonlight

I took a trip to Europe in the summer of 2013.

I wrote Moonlight and I adapted

If Beale Street Could Talk.

Didn't have the rights to the book at all at that point

but once Moonlight happened

even before the awards and all that stuff

I just knew that I wanted to sort of like,

close the circle and complete the journey

of that writing expedition,

to make both these films.

But it was nice because there was so much opportunity

after Moonlight, it was really great to have a contract

with myself that I had to honor.

- When I saw Barry Jenkins and James Baldwin

I knew it had to be something special

but then reading the script

and then following that up with reading the novel itself

it just became even more clear how special it would be.

And so the first time that I met Barry

was actually at my chemistry read

and it's the first time I met Steph as well

and just being in that room with the both of them

I knew, I get this thing, it's just going to blow me away.

- I think Barry hearing his vision,

we got to sit down, have lunch,

long, long, long before we started filming

and it was just incredible to just hear his take

and his idea and he struck me as the perfect person

to tell a story like this

and it's just a phenomenal novel obviously

and for me, I just couldn't be more excited

to embody the role of Fonny.

- Baldwin, he writes the interior lives of characters

really well.

They both read the novel

and we have tried to preserve a lot of that interiority

in the script as well

so I feel like it wasn't a secret,

the reasons for the feelings,

it was not a secret, - Yeah.

- that was coming from the actors

and so, I thought that allowed them

to really just live in it.

All three of the films have

premiered at different festivals.

Medicine for Melancholy premiered at South by Southwest.

Even though it screened at Toronto

and I remember Tom Luddy saying

"Oh I wish you would submit it."

Tom Luddy runs

Telluride Film Festival, - Yeah.

- which we submit at Medicine for Melancholy here

I was like, no, South by Southwest was the place

to premiere--

(laughing drowns out speech)

So I think of it, they're all these different homes,

you know?

And sometimes one fits here and one fits there,

so, we also just wanted, we wanted Stephan to

premiere a movie in his hometown.

- This is mainly for me.

- He was born and raised in Toronto.

Corypheus & Voldemort - How are they similar? - Duration: 1:32.

Hey guys, I just realized something: Corypheus is very similar to Voldemort.

They both made a lot of really stupid decisions out of their hubris.That was the thing that

sparked this idea, but I noticed there's actually more.

I mean, the distorted faces is one thing, both a result of some kind of dark magic.

They both have the ability to return to life after being killed; Voldemort with horcruxes,

and Corypheus with the Blight.

They also both created the ultimate means of their demise - car and all - Corypheus

with the Inquisitor and Voldemort with Harry.

They both have cults that follow them in the Death Eaters and Venatori.

And they both have pet repriles in which they invested parts of their souls.

And both pets are tied to their masters' immortality in some way.

They both aspire to godhood, going so far as to choose new names.

Corypheus was Sethius Amladaris, and Voldemort was Thom Riddle.

Speaking of which, Thom Riddle is a baller name and I would have stuck with that over

anything with "mort" in it.

It makes you sound like some kind of growth rather than someone to feared.

Now do I think the writers took inspiration from Voldemort while writing Corypheus?

No, probably not much, at least not directly.

There are other villains with distorted faces, and that aspire to godhood, and plenty that

kept themselves alive with some kind of dark magic.

I just noticed the similarities and thought I'd share.

Hello! I want to talk about the book "I'm a queerfeminist cyborg, that's okay" by Mika Murstein.

it has the subtitle "collection of thoughts on anti/ableism"

i finished the book yesterday. and

i loved it. already the first page was great.

In the foreword mika startet with an introduction of themself.

"I'm a white, disabled, nonbinary, (poor ? i dont know the translation) disability

activist." I think its super important

that authors say these thing right at the beginning. which reminds me:

I dont experience ablism.

the aim of this book is an autobiographical report that is

conected with theory. to develope an anti-ableism practice.

in advance: I think this book succeeded.

and generally think i like this goal.

This book has an intesectionalen approach.

that means there are very many topics.

these are easy to understand and also well structured.

but in preperation of this video i found it difficult to get the main topics.

i didnt want to repeat the hole book.

by the way i have the feeling this book was well edited.

on the theoretical level, it has three aspects. On the one side it's about

the representation of disability. how disabilitiy is viewed in germany.

an example: self-love of disabled people

is criticized by non-disabled.

self-hate is expected.

then it's about the concept ableism: the definition and

its history.

However, ableism is not analysed as an isolated discrimination.

it's always about the intersections with classicism or

sexism. sexism from a non-binary perspective. because

Mika is non-binary. so its also about transphobia. (i dont know the english word without -phobia)

and its also about the interweaving with racism.

racism is dealt with in many places. and there is also an extra interview with

SchwarzRund. SchwarzRund is Afrolatin@ and therefore has

a different perspective on disability.

the title of the interview: "thoughts on interwoven, multi-dimensional

vulnerability and fragile alliances " a very cool extension of this

book. and the third theoretical level is empowerment.

what empowerment looks like and how empowerment could look like.

these was a rough summary of theoretical themes.

but they were alwas discribed in individual situations / transferred to a concrete life situation.

So it's about school, it's about therapy, it is about left activist groups and

also about online activism - mainly twitter.

its still not a good description of the amount of content in this book.

so im going to say some keywords for interesting topics in this book.

beauty, precarity,

intelligence, pain, sexuality, Police violence, age,

"freedom of speech" (germany related)

and sources to draw strength.

this book uses a lot of academic concepts.

for example the words in the title of the interview with SchwarzRund

are concepts but can also be understood in a literaly way.

the book wants to inspire to think about disability and society in general.

but its not elitist.

again the goal is

to create an anti-ablist practice.

you can understand the book even if you dont know the concepts.

(an german example i cant translate. until 6:37)

but important concepts are

obviously

explained and important

Terms are also explained.

there is a glossary.

overall, I enjoyed

reading the book.

i liked the mix of

theoretical considerations and

practical reports and practical

consideration.

thats all i wanted to say about the book.

conclude with a quote:

reflect various social realities.

that is no escapism,

but a different kind to help my

reflection about me, about social

reality, and a look "beyond one's own nose".

There were many times when

being Korean was very embarrassing,

or even upsetting.

Hello. My name is Chan Ho Park.

When school was out, the baseball team always

made a big pot of ramen

and we each had a bowl before practice.

I started going to practice because of the ramen.

When I was in high school, I went to LA

I remember Dodger Stadium being massive.

I began to imagine myself pitching on that field

and that became a dream.

But becoming a major league player

did not fulfill my dream.

The most difficult thing was

when I ate Korean food

people complained of the smell of garlic.

The players would sniff when they were near me

saying that I smelled of garlic.

For those who challenge themselves,

there is no such thing as failure.

Because it's growth

Many people dissuaded me from joining the Major Leagues.

A Korean person, a Korean player can't make it in the Major Leagues.

That made me want to challenge myself even more.

I was curious.

Is this really something I can't do?

I kept going out of curiosity.

After a long, professional career,

the goal of my challenge was sucess

the meaning of that success

is not to be superior than anyone else,

or to be the best.

It's about the growth that can improve the quality of my life.

The place of growth

and the process of growth,

is real success in my opinion.

hello friends I'm dragonate welcome to

another dragonate reading your answers

video last week I asked you do you ever

feel like you are you have no time and

if so do you know why and what do you do

about it and that kind of thing you guys

answered and I'll be reading your

answers in this video but before we get

started we need a new question for this

week I was thinking of a little bit

different kind of a question this time

um rather than you know you guys

answering some kind of question how

about you guys tell me about something

that happened recently it can be small

it can be big I don't care you can you

can leave a summary of a post lit in a

sentence or you can you know tell me a

story but just tell me about something

that happened recently that you saw or

that you did or that you experienced

that evoked some kind of emotion in you

not going to say something that just

made you happy or something positive but

something that evokes some kind of

emotion emotion in you and regardless of

what that emotion is tell me about

something that evoked is an emotional

response there that's your question and

no that's since we got that out of the

way it lets us see what you guys answer

for last week's question again I

apologize about my chair so do you guys

feel like you're out of time Matt shot

appreciate it man shut I've been lazy on

uploads as well with life in the way

which ties into the question of time I

don't have enough time to focus on

YouTube as I'd like to working 50 to 60

hour work weeks which is a lot like here

a regular work week is only 40 hours I

think so that's a heck of a lot of

overtime making me exhausted on top of

life stuff afield once I have my own

place hopefully in a few months I can

make more time for it I'm hopeful and I

can't wait for YouTube to be a to be

able to be a full-time job as someday

least I'm willing to chase and I say to

go chase your dream my mom says I guess

if I feel like I have no time I get

anxious which doesn't help but I do try

to prioritize and get the more important

stuff done first yes life can get in the

way but try not to dwell on what didn't

get done I know easier said than done

absolutely but I've come to realize you

can only do what you can do and tomorrow

and

the day and I try to remind myself of

that every day which hopefully works out

forgetting stuff not really again the

anxiety listening things helps sometimes

cleaning can help me get the nerves

worked out if I had a pool nearby have

could meet my friends more often than

it's at some point I know with school

things become a little hard cuz you have

a lot of homework and everything

regarding that so that's unfortunate but

unfortunately it's a thing that everyone

has to do I went through it as well and

yeah you will you will yeah you'll get

time otherwise afterward me too says

feeling of having no time that's my life

I had no free weeks during summer and at

the moment I have all coming weeks

basically booked up to the end of this

month that's a lot I guess you know

being busy isn't a bad thing either just

don't let yourself get stressed out by

it I guess and take breaks if you feel

if you start feeling like you need it

you know DLT dev always has not enough

time so he's what he's trying to do he's

trying to reverse engineer a clock so he

gets more time in the day I think that's

pretty awesome

on the secret on the technology when you

on one thing a time write down the other

and literally just before I go to bed or

you know something maybe if things are

just getting a little too much at a

point I will just start writing

everything down in point form everything

that's bothering me and stuff so because

it did help before it definitely did

help before I guess I kind of just

stopped because maybe I felt like I had

no time to do that also I don't know but

lately I have been having that feeling

of not having time for anything and for

the most part it's kind of my own fault

because I'm either wasting time or it's

in regards to sleeping where I'm

sleeping too much or not enough or

something but usually I don't start

filling that to that pressure or

anything any anxiety or anything until

it's like unless something has a

deadline and it's getting close to that

deadline that's when I start feeling the

pressure feeling the anxiety learn time

management better time management skills

I mean I'm not I'm not too bad there

were a couple of weeks ago where I felt

like I was I was playing too many games

because my friend just got me a game and

so we were playing together a lot and I

felt like I was playing too much of it

but I was still getting everything done

that I needed and wanted to get done so

that wasn't even an issue which was

surprising for me actually because that

doesn't usually happen but now it's I

don't know there's more stuff there's

stuff with work and and and other stuff

so that stuff's all kind of eating up a

lot of my energy and time and stuff but

either way we'll figure it out that's it

for President in 2020.

That means he needs to show Democrat voters he will do anything to resist Donald Trump.

But Booker crossed a line.

During the hearing, he stated he was going to release Kavanaugh's emails.

Republican Senator John Cornyn told him that the Senate could vote to expel Booker.

Booker knew he faced no threat of being kicked out of the Senate.

that certain "committee confidential" documents be made public for use during the

hearing for Judge Kavanaugh.

So, now we are being told (by Committee staffers) that SenBooker knew BEFORE he made these statements

- that the documents in question had already been cleared for release.

That's a significant claim to make, so I have asked his office directly.

Here's what happened: Last night, Senators Leahy, Coons, Blumenthal and Booker requested

In short, Sen. Booker made a scene this morning about committee confidential docs that Chairman

Grassley helped make public prior to the hearing today.

Trey Gowdy Destroys Corey Booker Booker deserved to be the butt of the jokes.

He "leaked" emails that showed Brett Kavanaugh opposed racial profiling.

So the documents that Cory Booker violated committee rules to release shows that Kavanaugh

rejected the use of race or national origin in airport security screening and law enforcement
