Hello its Kinoshita Yuka (Eng subs by ~Aphexx)

So, Today! tadaa I've made an 'an-butter mochi-cheese' fried bun (Eng subs by ~Aphexx)

it looks so delish, this is another in my "deep fried" series of vids I was informed of this recipe by a viewer, TYVM

alrighty lets go see how its made

2 loaves of bread (texas toast sized) first we'll cut off the crusts

add some mashed sweet beans (Anko is where the 'An' comes from in the name of today's dish)

butter, a piece of mochi cut in half, cheese then top it off

some hydrated starch around the perimeter top with bread then crush the edges with a fork

now we'll deep fry these

looks delish! fry this for 5 minutes in ?460? degree oil

with a chopstick or something please check to see if its heated through to the inside

now I'll cut it in 2

tadaa its completed! looks so delish

the an-butter (anko + butter) alone is delish on its own and then we go overboard and add the mochi and cheese

I even covered them in honey its just a mishmash of things I like the most

the sweet bean anko with mochi looks so delish

crazy delish! this legit tastes great

and the honey I drizzled on at the end goes so nicely with this

the anko sweet bean and mochi are truly a great pairing

and the bread is so nice and crispy

delish

its literally a bundle of joy

when you bite into this the melted butter inside just gushes right out.... I can't get enough of that

the flavor of the butter mixes into the anko sweet bean and I love how the saltiness and

the sweetness of them both balance eachother out and mellow out the flavors

just deep frying it alone made it so delish and then we added so many of my fav things like

anko beans mochi cheese and butter it was the 'bestest'

I loved the honey on top of it as well it added that unique sweetness unlike the anko's

I also love that saltiness from the cheese it goes so great with the an-butter flavors

so um.... I'm feeling at though this thing I made today has an ungodly amount of calories

it was so very delish

subcompact that's easy i spent the day

driving it around austin texas

how do it's driving dynamics match up to

its wild styling let's take a look

despite all of its styling flash the chr

fizzles on the road take off their

adequate but definitely not lively and

the CVT is stingy and swing out more

policy for mode makes it feel more

aggressive though in Japan the chr has a

turbocharged engine and all-wheel-drive

we need to get that one here overall

road manners on the highway are pleasant

with a comfortable ride and handling

the chr was intended for the now-defunct

I on brand and its interior is like a

time capsule and not a fun one

the control layout cabin design and

materials are throwbacks to toyota's now

deceased brands the standard 7-inch

touchscreen sits in the middle of the

dash and has a tablet-style appearance

but it's even more low-tech sand it

looks it's missing some essentials like

apple carplay android auto navigation

and even satellite radio in terms of

room front seat space is good with

plenty of headroom and legroom but the

sloping roofline makes it hard to see

when you're backing up and the standard

backup camera uses a small rearview

mirror display an outdated set up in

back legroom trails other sub compact

SUVs at five feet six inches i had

enough room

the back seat belt closed-in however

because visibility through the tiny side

windows is terrible

where the chr gets points isn't it

safety features many active safety

features such as forward collision

warning with pedestrian detection and

automatic emergency braking our standard

when others in this class don't even

offer some of them edgy styling and

generous safety features are not enough

to offset boring road manners and an

outdated multimedia system

toyota says the chr is aimed at

millennial generation buyers looking to

stand out to chr fits that bill with

shoppers will find that his character is

only skin deep

A DAY EXPLORING A SMALL JAPANESE TOWN | 宮崎県綾町での田舎暮らし体験 - Duration: 7:02.

- I'm here with Momoko-San.

She is a drone-jo,

and today we are going to shoot various,

sight seeing spots around Aya.

And we're going to make them look really, really cool,

and really professional.

And she's going to teach me how to fly a drone,

so I'm really excited.

(both speak foreign language)

Momoka-San is a licensed drone pilot.

Flying drones in residential areas is prohibited in Japan,

but if you're a licensed drone pilot,

you can apply for special permission to fly.

So today, thanks to Momoko-San,

we'll be able to fly our drone here

in the small farming town of Aya,

in Miyazaki prefecture.

(high pitch buzzing)

This is the Aya Teruha Suspension Bridge:

One of the most popular landmarks in Aya,

and formerly the highest walkable suspension bridge

in all of Japan.

It is a 142 meters tall, and 250 meters wide.

So this bridge is not exactly for the faint of heart

or those afraid of heights,

mainly because the flooring is grated.

(Micaela chuckles)

Grated and you can see straight down to your death,

if you were to fall, if anything were to happen.

No chance.

(speaks foreign language)

It's the bridge code,

you have to be polite to people when you are on a bridge.

I just made that up.

If you can make it to the other side of the bridge,

there's a hiking trail that weaves thought the lush forest.

This is a very popular stop for nature lovers, hikers,

and thrill seeking tourists.

Another famous landmark is Aya Castle.

It sits atop a hill and overlooks the entire town.

Alright, so here is Aya Castle.

The thing that I like a lot about Aya Castle,

I've been here a few times already,

but the thing that I like about it is that,

for a castle, for a tourist spot,

it's always very quiet.

There's never anybody else here,

and if you want to just wander around,

and admire it, and take photos,

and go inside, and go to the top,

you can,

and you don't have other tourists getting into your photos

and ruining everything.

Whether you're looking at the castle from the town,

or looking at the town from the castle,

you're sure to be treated with some picturesque scenery.

After a busy morning of flying,

we headed to the center of town for a quick break.

From the end of February to the beginning of March,

Japan celebrates the Hinamatsuri,

or The Festival of Dolls.

These are so cute.

This festival is celebrated all across Japan,

but depending on where you go,

everyone seems to celebrate it a little differently.

In Aya, they hold what is called a Hinayamamatsuri

or A Doll Mountain Festival.

Traditionally,

hina dolls are displayed on red-tiered platforms,

but in the town of Aya,

they place that platform on a man-made mountain,

and they decorate it with real plants and flowers,

and display them all across town.

(trickling water)

Over the course of one week,

this particular event draws visitors from all over Kyushu,

and it's a really great opportunity

to explore the more traditional side of Japan.

(speaks foreign language)

Wow.

You meet some pretty amazing people here in Aya.

Finally, it's the end of the day,

and we're going out for dinner

with my friends from town hall.

I've been waiting for this dinner pretty much forever.

So tonight we are having inoshishi nabe,

which is a wild boar hot pot,

and I'm so excited.

I've actually been dying to have wild boar,

ever since I came here,

and they told me that they hunt them here.

You can't really have the wild boar coming in

and destroying crops so it's actually legal

to hunt them in this area.

We are about to have this amazing nabe dinner.

I think it's safe to say that I have been looking forward

to this dinner ever since I came to Aya.

(speaking foreign language)

It's really tough and chewing,

but it's a little bit sweet

and it has a bit of an after taste that I really like.

[No Oven] 삼겹살 쿠키?🍖 baked Pork Belly Cookies [FOOD VIDEO][스윗더미 . Sweet The MI] - Duration: 7:26.

Hi this is Sweet The Mi.

Today I'll be cooking the pork belly!

Not! I'm back with the No oven baked Pork Belly Cookies!

I've cooked them in the pan

so it gives more pork belly look into it what do you all think?

If you bake them in the oven the color will be a lot more prettier

It's so simple to make

Let's start with the basic cookie dough

Beat room temperature butter

Add the sugar powder through a strainer

Whisk gently with an egg and butter mixture

Add salt and vanilla extract

Pour the flour through a strainer

and whisk until until combined

Slice the dough into 3 pieces and add the food colorings

make light pink dough and strong pink dough

Don't add any color with a last piece of the dough.

Place the plastic wrap and stack up all the doughs

Shape them with your hands

If the dough is too soft set it aside and wait for another 20~30 mins and shape

Imagine how the pork belly looks like and shape the dough

When the dough is ready seal them in the wrap

and freeze the dough in the freezer

Slice the frozen dough with a knife but

trim the edge first

When you're done slicing our Pork belly is ready!

It makes me want to eat real pork belly

Now time to cook them in the pan

Place the cookies on the pan over a very low heat.

Dough will rise while you are cooking

so give enough space between cookies

Put the lid on and wait for about 15~20 mins

Cooking minutes might be different because of the temp

Now flip all the cookies

You can hear the sizzling sound!

Cook them all the way through Now No Oven baked Pork Belly Cookies are Done!

Jump in for the hot cookies...no don't Cool the cookies before you eat

It makes me to eat real pork belly

In a previous podcast we have already shown you that working with Lookuptables is possible since EDIUS 8.2.

Lookuptables are presets that give your movie a special look.

Lookuptables are mostly available as files ending with .cube.

And as such they can be integrated into EDIUS.

Usually you have to purchase them.

However there are a few Internet platforms which offer them for free.

In the description text below this video you will find some links for freely downloadable Lookuptables.

In EDIUS Lookuptables can be integrated via the Primary color correction.

Before you use the Lookuptable you first have to register it in the Primary color correction.

To show this apply the Primary color correction to a clip and open the effect settings.

Next to destination/LUT there is a button for registering new Lookuptables.

Click on it and choose the Lookuptables from a folder on your computer.

Confirm your choice with OK.

And now the registered Lookuptables are listed.

If you save Lookuptable information in the project file you can use the Lookuptables even when editing

the project on a different editing system.

In the same dialog box you can also delete Lookuptables from the list.

Mark the Lookuptable you want to remove and click on the dust bin icon.

Youc can also change the order in the list.

Mark a Lookuptable and move it by pressing the up or down arrows.

Exit the dialog box by clicking on OK.

Now you can choose the Lookuptable in the primary correction in the destination section.

The primary color correction behaves like any other filter in EDIUS.

Therefore you can also apply it through the mask filter.

You can also save your settings as customized effect settings.

The packaging come in heart shape.

The concept is Better Together.

This two brand they're competing against each other.

They are like one is beauty and sweet another one is chic and strong.

This is how it look like when you open it.

The color is gorgeous.

They have green warmish color and Too Faced style glitter brown.

Kat Von D is more matte like black gray and red a lit silver and gold -ish.

This is so cool.

In the box they come with mascara and eyeliner,

which are best selling products from both brands.

Mascara form Too Faced and eyeliner from Kat Von D,

you guys probably familiar with these products.

Beautiful packaging so luxurious.

This one is already in February .

What should I talk next?

Let's talk about this lipstick with sweet price form NYX.

So I just went to their event WHAT!? it's come in heart shape again!

This one is liquid matte lipstick,

but the bag is so cute so I want to show you guys HAHA.

Doesn't matter HAHA.

You guys probably know about this American brand form their price and everything.

This new nude shade are new color they just launch.

They has develop and improve their product make it last longer and more nude shade.

Actually this is the color I wear today.

My opinion I think it's a little dry but it's should make them last longer.

As you can see, its still look fine.

You don't have to fix it during the day like after lunch unlike the previous one the launch.

The price is around 200 bath.

Next, Tarte.

Tarte just launch their PRO collection which is Tarte PRO GLOW.

Pro Glow is highlights and contours.

They have both cream and powder contours.

Highlight come in gold and you can you use this for eyeshadow as well.

The color is so nice, I'll swatch it for you guys.

It's very pigmented, on my arms and eyes as well.

I love to use this for my inner corner.

I just try this out and haven't try the cream one yet.

but I suppose it going to be gorgeous as well as its package.

There is also a eyeshadow for this collection.

OMG, the color is so NICE, so this year trend.

More fresh tone, last year was more in the darker shade.

This year they have like this violets and red definitely more catchy,

which I wear on my eyes today.

I use fierce and minx too add some shimmer give me today eyes look.

Other half are more neutral tone, so gorgeous.

This one will be launch in March.

You guys should definitely get it before it sold out pretty soon.

Actually they have the Tarte Pro to go which is smaller about thousand bath.

Through with that, let's come back to MAC product.

It's launch a while ago but I really like this one form its color.

From our mom collection Katlyn Jenner or dad?!!

with unisex concept, so its can be use on both gender men and women.

In nude pink tone which I favor and very wearable.

The color is really nice and long lasting and its texture as well.

I'm not sure if it's sold out yet, but I like it, nice product.

For the brush on product also come with highlight,

but I think it's not as pigmented as its brush on and other brand highlight.

Bring in some Stillar product I'm AMAZED!!!

You guys probably seen a lot of people got this product from Sephora.

This one, it's liquid eyeshadow with glitter and everything.

I will try this one on my eyes, see the pigmentation and how its look.

Normally it'd come separately the liquid and glitter,

but this one comes in dipping stick ready to use.

I think there are about 8 colors of them, definitely try them all.

NO!! I didn't encourage or push your desire to make you crave or anything HAHA.

Okay, next cream highlight a little sticky, very pigmented and look more natural style.

I'll zoom in so you guys can see more, how it's look when apply

The texture is very smooth and easy to apply, you can apply with your finger actually.

Physicians Formula, I'm not sure when this one launch, it's a butter bronzer.

They come in different shade, light and bronzer, but it doesn't seem that different.

If you plan to buy this I recommend you buy the bronzer color cause there is not much different.

The thing is it scent though, it smells so GOOD.

Like if I put it in the drawer, when I open the drawer I can totally scent the smell,

and the pattern on the product is so nice, and affordable price as well.

Totally worth to check it out.

Next, there are so many lipstick launch this year, both counter and high end brand.

I'd like to talk about this Korean brand, Mamonde, which I pronounce the name wrong last time.

They launch the lipstick which inspire by flower in 20 different shade.

There are five or six shade that are my favorite with its texture and everything.

Cause I'd try it out the other day, it's very easy to apply,

and this is the color that I like, they have various international color like dark purple, so cool.

Korean brand normally launch like pink or orange tone and it's not wearable for Thai people.

but this one has like a dark red, dark tone to nude color, like swatches.

The next one that I want to talk about is concealer from Lamer.

They launch this product a while ago.

I want to disclaim a bit, even though it's seem pricey, but it's come in superior quality with the treatment.

and very cover all pimple, acne as well as under eyes circle, all in one stick.

For me its scent , pocketable size and quality are worth it for their price.

I don't want to oversell this but i really like them.

Last one for today is the lipstick from Illamasqua,

so I went to their workshop

and they were using the brush, took one wipe of the lip color

and you can paint with it.

the texture is so smooth that you can paint it.

The concept is that you can mix all the shade together to make you own color,

and IT IS!! I'll show you with this two shade.

Something like this, for the make up you should try this year of 2017.

We have got a lot of gear out in the wild today!!

A snowmobile has brought out the gear this time.

Two boxes with food, two sleds,

two bags firewood, a lavo with a stove and snowshoes ;)

First of all we have to set up the lavo before it gets dark!

Kiro has waited a long time to get inside.

He is disappointed! Here isn't warm and nice yet.

Nice to have you with us this time!

It's a really COLD weather on this trip!

Think we will regret that the warmest sleeping bags are at home.....

Yes! At home we have two brand new extreme sleeping bags!

We didn't expect a temperature below minus 25 degree C during the night!

It's cold!!

Cross country ski, ice fishing and lavo in Telemark (Norway).

We have got a lot of gear out in the wild today!!

A snowmobile has brought out the gear this time.

Two boxes with food, two sleds,

two bags firewood, a lavo with a stove and snowshoes ;)

First of all we have to set up the lavo before it gets dark!

Kiro has waited a long time to get inside.

He is disappointed! Here isn't warm and nice yet.

Nice to have you with us this time!

It's a really COLD weather on this trip!

Think we will regret that the warmest sleeping bags are at home.....

Yes! At home we have two brand new extreme sleeping bags!

We didn't expect a temperature below minus 25 degree C during the night!

It's cold!!

Here is Kaja - a bit too cold tonight ;)

I guess I have to use this tonight!

ANNOUNCEMENT: My Vlogumentary Adventures in India and How I Plan On Staying Out of Prison ♥ #Vlog 14 - Duration: 5:03.

Last week I alluded to a new project that I'm going to be working on and announcing this

week, and the new project is...

I'm going to go to India and film a mini-documentary, a vlogumentary, if you like, about matrimonial

dating, and the rise of dating apps in India.

You have the traditional world of matrimonials in India which is essentially Matrimony.com

and Shaadi.com and Jeevansathi.com and now you have the likes of Tinder, and Woo who

are rising, and shaking things up a bit.

So, this seems, at least in my world, rather interesting.

I like to study Internet dating services and this is, I think, quite interesting to the

rest of the dating industry.

The stars have lined up, I'm going to India next week.

I'm going to be there two weeks and I'm going to be talking with the CEOs of these companies,

and hopefully talking to a few end-users as well.

So the difference with this particular style of documentary is its going to be fairly short.

I'm just shooting for 30 to 45 minutes, and I'd like to make it fairly punchy.

I think what I like about the idea of vlogging is that it is honest and everything follows

a timeline.

Everything is in the actual timeline that it happened.

I like the authenticity of that.

I want to follow that same style in this documentary.

If you can call it a documentary.

It's really a vlogumentary.

There is actually a definition for vlogumentary on the Urban Dictionary.

Let's see here.

A vlogumentary is "a do-it-yourself documentary created by a video blogger (vlogger) with

the express purpose of documenting reality and sharing it online without care toward

profit or marketability.

That's the long and the short of it.

I don't care about making money on this.

This is something that just seems like a good thing to do.

It would be interesting to do, at least for me, and the audience that I cater to, which

is Online Personals Watch and the Internet dating industry.

This is a big market that is growing very quickly, and its a market that's changing

quite a lot, and there are some unique cultural nuances of this particular market.

So, that's the new project.

I hope it's interesting.

And the other announcement is, I actually did pass my exams at the London School of

Economics, and so I do actually have a Masters degree now, which I'm thrilled about.

So, what happens next is I fly out on Tuesday.

I'm going to go to Dubai and then over to...

I'm going to be in three cities in India.

I'm going to be going first of all to Delhi, which seems to be where most of the companies

are.

Then I'll be going down to Chennai for a few days to go visit my friend Muru at Matrimony.com

and then I'm going to go visit Gourav who's the CEO of Shaadi.com and maybe even meet

up with Anu who's the fellow who started it many years ago.

That's the line up.

Three cities in India and then I'll be home.

It's going to be a couple weeks of traveling and exploring.

I'm going to take you right along with me, and that's kind of the purpose of this vlogumentary.

You will see what happens.

It's not going to be scripted.

It's not going to be acted out.

It is the God's honest truth of what happens along the way, who I meet, what they have

to say... you know, and then I'll condense it down to the interesting bits.

But it's going to be laid out the same way as it happens.

Hopefully it's interesting.

It will be interesting.

I'm sure.

That's why I'm going.

It's another experiment.

One of the things I'm really not happy about is, there's one thing I can't take to India

because it's not actually allowed.

I could get in trouble for setting this thing free.

I can't take it.

This little fellow [Mavic Pro drone], unfortunately, is not going to be going to India.

They don't want these things flying in India.

They certainly don't want them flying over the Taj Mahal.

Having this come over the Taj Mahal, get a nice shot...

Nope, it's not going to fly.

Literally, it's not going to fly, it's not going to even set down in India.

This cookie is staying at home unfortunately.

A real downer.

The deal is, drones are not allowed to fly anywhere in India.

You need to have a special license, and even that is a work in progress.

They've not even got that established yet.

I thought maybe in Gurgaon, which is quite a modern area of Delhi they might be allowed.

They don't want them anywhere near any built up areas with a lot of people.

Which, if you think about it, makes an awful lot of sense.

This is not that light.

These are quite sharp [blades].

I would not want this landing on my kids' heads.

So I think, kinda the rule over there is, if you happen to crash one of these, you're

going to be in hot water.

If you happen to smuggle one in and fly it around and it's not in a built up area, especially

if it's on private ground, you probably will be fine.

But, I'm not going to risk it.

It's going to stay.

And that's just me being a pussy maybe, but I don't like the idea of going to an Indian

prison.

A DAY EXPLORING A SMALL JAPANESE TOWN | 宮崎県綾町での田舎暮らし体験 - Duration: 7:02.

She is a drone-jo,

and today we are going to shoot various,

sight seeing spots around Aya.

And we're going to make them look really, really cool,

and really professional.

And she's going to teach me how to fly a drone,

so I'm really excited.

Momoka-San is a licensed drone pilot.

Flying drones in residential areas is prohibited in Japan,

but if you're a licensed drone pilot,

you can apply for special permission to fly.

So today, thanks to Momoko-San,

we'll be able to fly our drone here

in the small farming town of Aya,

in Miyazaki prefecture.

(high pitch buzzing)

This is the Aya Teruha Suspension Bridge:

One of the most popular landmarks in Aya,

and formerly the highest walkable suspension bridge

in all of Japan.

It is a 142 meters tall, and 250 meters wide.

So this bridge is not exactly for the faint of heart

or those afraid of heights,

mainly because the flooring is grated.

(Micaela chuckles)

Grated and you can see straight down to your death,

if you were to fall, if anything were to happen.

No chance.

(speaks foreign language)

It's the bridge code,

you have to be polite to people when you are on a bridge.

I just made that up.

If you can make it to the other side of the bridge,

there's a hiking trail that weaves thought the lush forest.

This is a very popular stop for nature lovers, hikers,

and thrill seeking tourists.

Another famous landmark is Aya Castle.

It sits atop a hill and overlooks the entire town.

Alright, so here is Aya Castle.

The thing that I like a lot about Aya Castle,

I've been here a few times already,

but the thing that I like about it is that,

for a castle, for a tourist spot,

it's always very quiet.

There's never anybody else here,

and if you want to just wander around,

and admire it, and take photos,

and go inside, and go to the top,

you can,

and you don't have other tourists getting into your photos

and ruining everything.

Whether you're looking at the castle from the town,

or looking at the town from the castle,

you're sure to be treated with some picturesque scenery.

After a busy morning of flying,

we headed to the center of town for a quick break.

They have free WiFi there.

From the end of February to the beginning of March,

Japan celebrates the Hinamatsuri,

or The Festival of Dolls.

- Come on.

These are so cute.

This festival is celebrated all across Japan,

but depending on where you go,

everyone seems to celebrate it a little differently.

In Aya, they hold what is called a Hinayamamatsuri

or A Doll Mountain Festival.

Traditionally,

hina dolls are displayed on red-tiered platforms,

but in the town of Aya,

they place that platform on a man-made mountain,

and they decorate it with real plants and flowers,

and display them all across town.

Over the course of one week,

this particular event draws visitors from all over Kyushu,

and it's a really great opportunity

to explore the more traditional side of Japan.

You meet some pretty amazing people here in Aya.

Finally, it's the end of the day,

and we're going out for dinner

with my friends from town hall.

I've been waiting for this dinner pretty much forever.

So tonight we are having inoshishi nabe,

which is a wild boar hot pot,

and I'm so excited.

I've actually been dying to have wild boar,

ever since I came here,

and they told me that they hunt them here.

You can't really have the wild boar coming in

and destroying crops so it's actually legal

to hunt them in this area.

We are about to have this amazing nabe dinner.

I think it's safe to say that I have been looking forward

to this dinner ever since I came to Aya.

It's really tough and chewing,

So, Today! tadaa I've made an 'an-butter mochi-cheese' fried bun (Eng subs by ~Aphexx)

it looks so delish, this is another in my "deep fried" series of vids I was informed of this recipe by a viewer, TYVM

alrighty lets go see how its made

2 loaves of bread (texas toast sized) first we'll cut off the crusts

add some mashed sweet beans (Anko is where the 'An' comes from in the name of today's dish)

butter, a piece of mochi cut in half, cheese then top it off

some hydrated starch around the perimeter top with bread then crush the edges with a fork

now we'll deep fry these

looks delish! fry this for 5 minutes in ?460? degree oil

with a chopstick or something please check to see if its heated through to the inside

now I'll cut it in 2

whoa!!! looks delish

cover in honey.....

tadaa its completed! looks so delish

the an-butter (anko + butter) alone is delish on its own and then we go overboard and add the mochi and cheese

AND!!!!

we deep fried it all

itadakimasu I'll start with the one I cut in 2

I even covered them in honey its just a mishmash of things I like the most

the sweet bean anko with mochi looks so delish

crazy delish! this legit tastes great

and the honey I drizzled on at the end goes so nicely with this

the anko sweet bean and mochi are truly a great pairing

and the bread is so nice and crispy

delish

its literally a bundle of joy

when you bite into this the melted butter inside just gushes right out.... I can't get enough of that

the flavor of the butter mixes into the anko sweet bean and I love how the saltiness and

the sweetness of them both balance eachother out and mellow out the flavors

an-butt... an butter mochi ..... cheese deepfried bun was absolutely delish

just deep frying it alone made it so delish and then we added so many of my fav things like

anko beans mochi cheese and butter it was the 'bestest'

I loved the honey on top of it as well it added that unique sweetness unlike the anko's

I also love that saltiness from the cheese it goes so great with the an-butter flavors

so um.... I'm feeling at though this thing I made today has an ungodly amount of calories

it was so very delish

Hello and welcome to this video

Gareth here from TastyTuts.com. In this video

we're going to look at the 'I Love New York' logo,

learn a little about the logo and the designer behind it.

The 'I Love New York' logo was designed in 1977

by a famous American designer called Milton Glaser

Who was born in 1929.

Milton Glaser is well known for much of his work including:

The DC Comics logo designed in

the late nineteen seventies.

The Brooklyn Brewery logo from the early nineteen eighties,

and his many posters he created

throughout his long career notably the

psychedelic Bob Dylan poster designed in the mid 1960's.

In the early 1970's New York was near bankruptcy

things are not looking good

and the city needed money.

The New York state Commerce Department

realized that a great way to make money

was through tourism. An advertisement company

called Wells, Rich, Greene was

hired who came up with the slogan 'I Love New York'

which they would build their entire advertisement campaign on.

This is known as the ad campaign that saved New York.

In 1977 Milton Glaser was hired and

it was up to him to come up with a logo

that would be used in the campaign.

His first idea was 'I Love New York' composed

in two lozenge shapes, but soon after while doodling

in a taxicab he came up with what

he thought was a better idea.

This being he version with the heart shape.

This logo would go on to be used

in a range of media. This logo would go

on to be used in adverts with a special

jingle composed by Steve Karmen.

'I live in New Hampshire but I Love New York'

'I live in North Carolina but I Love New York'.

'Call toll-free for our free 100 page vacation guide'

'It's filled with affordable vacation packages and ideas'

'Find out why out door lovers from the Carolina's to Canada Love New York'

'I live in Brooklyn but I love New York'

'New York is all light up for your vacation.'

'Come have a dazzling time.'

'Call toll-free 800 554 3600 for package tours and information.'

'Or see your travel agent.'

'New York is all light up for your vacation.'

'Come have a dazzling time.'

The logo was also used in print advertisement and merchandise.

It was only expected to last a few months

but the logo became so popular it has

become a pop-up icon, closely associated

with New York and is still being used on merchandise today.

To quote Glaser on his logo:

"The impulse for everyone I think going

into professional life as a designer,

or as a communicator, is to have their work effective

and meaningful to enter the culture

through their work.

so everything one dreams of in terms of having an effect

on your culture, your community, your neighbourhood the world!

It happened!

So this logo is essentially a lockup combination mark.

In this logo we have an lettermark element and a visual shape element.

The lettermark is a rounded slab serif typeface called American typewriter

designed by Joel Kaden and Tony Stan

released in 1974.

The 'I Love New York' logo is commonly seen in two lockup compositions

the horizontal composition and the stacked composition.

The heart shape visual icon is placed in the composition

to represent the word 'love' visually.

Milton Glaser's 'I Love New York' logo has

become so iconic it has become one of

the most imitated logos of all time.

Used around the world in various ways.

So what do I think of this logo?

Well this is one of the all time classics,

and ticks all the boxes that make for a good logo.

It's simple, universally understood, memorable, distinctive, appropriate, versatile

and has proved itself to be timeless.

So what can we learn from this story?

Well this logo demonstrates how visual and type elements

can be used together in a simple and impactful way.

this is a good example of how simplicity can be easily recognised,

instantly identifiable and have a maximum impact

the use of the visual element makes this logo

universally understood around the world

which has helped with its popularity.

When designing a logo consider how these

aspects have worked so well for this logo

and how they might benefit your design.
