What Happened to Darth Maul on Malachor - Duration: 3:14.
The latest issue of the Darth Maul comic was released yesterday, and it answered two major
questions about the former Sith Lord.
I'll be talking about spoilers from the issue and from the Rebels episode Twin Suns,
so if you want to avoid them, turn this video off now.
According to the episode guide of the Star Wars Rebels season two finale, the original
script had Maul mention coming to Malachor with his master long ago.
This issue not only confirms that happened, but shows us exactly what happened while he
was there, and more importantly, it explains why Darth Maul is so full of hatred and vengeance,
specifically targeted at the Jedi.
In the Phantom Menace he says "At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi.
At last we will have revenge."
For eighteen years now I've wondered what he wanted revenge for, so it's great to
finally have an answer!
In Rebels we learned that a massive battle took place on Malachor thousands of years
before the events of the films.
A great number of Jedi and Sith alike were killed in the detonation of a superweapon
built into a Sith temple there.
Only temple and the petrified bodies of the dead remained by the time the Sith Lords arrived.
Sidious forcefully fed Maul the ashes of the dead, allowing their rage to fill him.
This gave the young man a vision of the attack on the temple.
He physically felt the burns of a thousand lightsaber cuts and the deaths of a thousand
Sith.
Their spirits instilled in him an intense hatred of the Jedi and their treachery.
By the end of the experience, Maul felt that the Sith deserved justice, and that he himself
deserved revenge.
It sounds to me like the vision of the dead could account for Darth Maul's one-track
mind when it comes to vengeance.
He wants vengeance on the Jedi, he wants vengeance on Kenobi, he wants vengeance on the Sith.
Even his dying words speak of hope that he will one day be avenged.
I think it all stems from being filled with the hate and rage of a thousand long-dead
Sith.
Up until this point, I always assumed the Jedi had done something specific to Maul himself.
But the more we learn about this past, the more it seems he's never really had much
interaction with them.
In the comic he even says he's never even been close to a Jedi.
He was simply taken from his home as a child, and molded into a weapon for Sidious.
The Sith made him who he was, and then took it all away.
When he returned to Malachor about thirty years after his first visit, his intentions
are unclear.
He claims to be seeking the knowledge and power to destroy the Sith, but then he only
uses the holocron to track down Kenobi.
Either way, it was all about vengeance: the only true constant in his life.
What do you think of Maul's story?
Do you think this is a satisfying reason for him to seek revenge on seemingly everybody
in the galaxy?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

World of Warships - Naval Legends: Bofors - Duration: 12:55.
They were designed to be the best…
they met enemies face to face,
endured tragedies and enjoyed victories…
they went down in history due to the bravery of their crews…
they are the ships that deserve to be called
"Naval Legends!"
Bofors
US battleship Alabama,
British cruiser Belfast,
and Polish destroyer Błyskawica—
these ships are very different, but they all have one thing in common.
The Bofors L60,
one of the best automatic antiaircraft guns of World War II.
It is estimated that this model of 40-mm
automatic cannon shot down more airplanes than
all other antiaircraft guns put together.
Caliber: 40 mm
Barrel weight: 103 kg
Barrel length: 56 calibers
2,250 mm
Loading principle: clips (4 shots each)
Rate of fire: 120 round/min
Shell type: primarily fragmentation
Shell weight: around 900 g
Maximum vertical range: 7,160 m
Guns were installed in single, coaxial,
quadruple, and six-barreled mounts.
It became a very efficient gun
for antiaircraft and surface targets.
As time progressed, the first of the Bofors that
came online with the Royal Navy were hand driven
in terms of elevation and training.
And they had a very basic sight system and again,
like a lot of early systems, they were reliant on
training, ability of the aimers, and the gun crew.
The specifics of World War II artillery
relies on the fact that the smaller the caliber is,
the more it depends on the gun crew,
on their cohesion in combat.
The performance characteristics of light guns,
antiaircraft guns,
and Bofors in particular,
are a combination of the artillery mount itself,
and the training and coordination of its crew.
Especially in battle, when tensions are running very high,
there's no time to think and you need to move very fast,
turn around, load new shells, and start firing.
And all this happens automatically, without thinking.
After a battle, sailors often couldn't even remember
what they were doing.
That level of performance was achieved through constant training.
This weapon is operated by a crew of four.
Three on the mounting:
the Gun Layer, the Gun Trainer, the Loader.
The fourth member
carries the ammunition from the magazine,
and loads them into the clips on the side of the gun.
The L60 was developed in neutral Sweden.
Bofors, a metallurgy company,
started manufacturing cannons around the 1870s,
then it was owned by the famous Alfred Nobel for a while,
and after World War I, Bofors actively cooperated
with the German Krupp consortium.
In March 1932, the official trials of the automatic antiaircraft
cannon L60 were completed,
and it was put on the market.
In 1933, British and American military engineers
studied the gun
and were quite impressed—
the Swedish system
was more effective than the obsolete British Vickers "pom-poms"
and had more firepower than the "Chicago pianos" used by the US.
The maximum vertical range of Bofors
was almost twice that of the British gun and,
though the Swedish system had a slightly lower rate
of fire than its American counterpart,
the shells it used were twice as heavy.
Great Britain, the USA, and 10 other countries
purchased a license to produce the gun,
and by the beginning of World War II,
Bofors exported their L60 to 18 countries on different continents.
In particular,
Denmark, Greece, Egypt, Siam, Australia, and Argentina.
It wasn't just the Allies that used the Bofors L60.
Japanese forces captured several British guns in Singapore
and only their underdeveloped industry
prevented them from mass-producing them.
The German Navy used L60s captured in Poland,
Norway, and France from 1939,
under the designation Flak 28.
They were installed on submarines,
and cruisers Admiral Hipper
and Prinz Eugen.
However, the Swedish gun wasn't ideal and required modernization.
After 300 rounds
it would be too hot and require
the barrel to be changed.
The barrel is air-cooled
and therefore the ambient temperature plays
a great part in how long it would actually require to cool down.
During an intense battle,
several hundreds or even thousands of shots are fired.
That's why the issue of barrel replacement is so vital.
This is why the gun crew
was trained to carry out this maintenance
under combat conditions.
They could complete this procedure in mere seconds.
The mechanical drive system on ship-based antiaircraft mounts
would break down due to its exposure to salt water,
and needed to be replaced with a hydraulic one,
the air-cooling of the barrel
also had to be replaced with water cooling.
Also, some design modifications were
required to mass-produce the gun.
One of the main problems of the Bofors L60's application
was a high reliance on the training
and skills of the gun crew.
The job of the Loader
is to carry or load the gun by lifting the clip
and dropping it into the weapon so.
Once he's done that
he then taps the Gun Layer
on his head to let him know that the gun is loaded.
Loading a gun like this wasn't easy.
Ammunition had to be taken
out of a box and carried to the gun.
As the gun constantly rotated,
the carrier had to run around it with a clip of shells in his hands,
to pass it to the Loader.
This position on the gun is known as the Trainer's position.
And these handles are turned or reversed
to allow the gun to move backwards and forwards on the target
using the graticule sight in front of you.
Following the tracer being fired from the gun,
we can adjust for the aim of,
if we are too far in front or too far behind the target
to allow the other side of the gun,
which is the Layer's side,
to then manufacture the elevation for the target.
As time went on,
the gun developed and
so that we could come away from the hand driven gun,
she was turned into a hydraulic driven gun.
So she had pressure tanks and oils and suchlike,
which sped up the training and the elevation of the gun,
so that they could lock onto targets quicker.
This is the Gun Layer's position.
He was also the captain of the gun
and responsible for giving orders to the rest of the crew.
He would, for instance, initiate the loading sequence
by telling the loader to bring the gun to half-cock.
This means that the weapon can then be loaded
with rounds into the auto feeder.
He was also responsible for aiming the weapon
using the 300 Knot sight in front of him,
using the tracers from the rounds to adjust accordingly.
The sight arrangement was going away from
the spider web type of sight to a mirror type of sight,
which was basically what we call a head-up display today.
On small-displacement ships,
antiaircraft guns were aimed manually.
But on cruisers, battleships, and aircraft carriers,
the firing data was produced by directors—
special systems that controlled antiaircraft artillery by calculating
targeting parameters and sending them
centrally to the receiving devices on guns.
The information on target parameters
was supplied by antiaircraft rangefinders
and, later, by gun radars.
The command to engage or fire
comes directly from the Command.
And without further ado
the Gun Captain would press the firing push.
As long as he held his foot on
the firing push the gun would continue to fire as long as
it had enough ammunition in the hopper to keep feeding it.
The guns created a fire barrage,
which was almost impossible
for a single aircraft or entire squadrons to penetrate.
You can see it in old newsreels—
there's literally a wall of fire in the air
and some plane trying to get through it.
The probability of an aircraft breaking through to its target,
for example, an aircraft carrier or some other ship, is very very small.
The Bofors L60 proved its worth during World War II.
The antiaircraft gun Bofors L70 became its logical continuation.
The human factor is crucial in wars.
A man can become frightened,
may be poorly trained,
or something unexpected can happen to them...
As a result, the struggle to minimize
the influence of the human element
and to increase the gun's survivability and rate of fire,
led to development of the modernized Bofors L70,
which required minimal human input,
if compared to the very first Bofors guns, such as the L60.
However, the L60 remained in use on some ships.
In 1982, during the Falklands War,
which involved Great Britain and Argentina,
the British managed to shoot down a jet plane using this Bofors gun!
Even in the 1970s,
when artillery was gradually replaced by missile systems,
Bofors cannons remained in service.
Not only the upgraded L70s,
but also the veteran L60.
It can still be found on some German minesweepers
and the heavily armed US AC-130 gunships,
which provide fire support to ground units.

How To Rapidly (And Permanently) Transform Your Body | | Eric Edmeades - Duration: 9:33.
- [Jason] So, our experience with WildFit's been pretty amazing.
- [Vishen] One of the things I learned in WildFit that was so important is the
importance of proper nutrition. Often we get hungry not because we don't have
enough food but because the food we are eating doesn't have the right nutrition.
- [Jason] And I'd say if you are having some challenges with your weight
or you're trying to re-question your nutrition, WildFit is going to give
you all the information and you're going to get some amazing results.
- [Gareth] I've already been trying to lose some weight and get more
healthy on my own but I kind of reached a plateau after a bit of weight loss
and then Mindvalley introduced us to WildFit.
- [Crystal] WildFit's for anybody who wants to finally take charge of their
fitness and their health.
♪ [music] ♪
- [Vishen] This is my bar before WildFit. As you can tell, I love being a good host.
This is my bar today after WildFit. Now, it doesn't mean that I don't take
alcohol anymore. I still do but I drink maybe 50%, 70% less than what I did
before. Through WildFit, I learned to appreciate things such as sparkling water,
for example.
- [Gareth] From a weight loss perspective, it was amazing.
I lost 23 kilograms in about 4 months. So, I went from, like, Stage 2 obese
into overweight category and now I'm almost reaching the normal
weight category.
- [Kim] He's like a completely changed man. Sometimes I feel, like, you know,
in the dark like, "Oh, is this really him?" He feels like a different person.
It felt like I was cheating on him. Like, whenever I hug him, it used to be...
like, I couldn't really touch my own fingers if I hug him, but now I can.
So it's really nice.
- [Jason] Yeah, we finished WildFit about five months ago. We did it over the summer.
We're still doing the shake as much as we can when we have the ingredients.
It's part of our diet and I mean I'm still losing weight just by living this life
after I've been educated with WildFit. I mean the biggest thing I think from
WildFit is that it changes your relationship with food.
- [Vishen] For the longest time, I just accepted that I was going to age like my dad,
like my grandfather. I just accepted that by the time I hit 65 to 70,
maybe that's the time when my life would end because that's when I saw my
grandfather pass away. He hadn't even hit 70 yet. What I've learned
from WildFit is that no way in hell I'm letting that happen to me.
And I've learned that I can actually take control over my aging and over my body by
eating healthy, by working out, by watching what I put in my body.
I now have a better physique than I did when I was 25 and 26. And when I hit 50,
I'm going to get this physique even more ripped. And so my whole mental attitude
towards aging has completely shifted. At 41, I'm in the fittest level I've ever
been in my life. I can bench press more, my body looks better.
I finally have a beach body which I'd never had in my life.
- [Kim] So, in the beginning for the first month, it was tough for us
because we didn't have a good blender.
- [Jason] We actually ended up buying a blender a couple months before we started WildFit
but we weren't using it that much.
- [Gareth] It was really horrible. - [Kim] Yeah.
- [Gareth] We called it The Chunky because it wasn't smooth at all.
- [Jason] Now I'm so happy we got a good one instead of a cheap one.
- [Kim] Life changing. - [Gareth] Now I enjoy making it.
- [Kim] Everybody should get... - [Gareth] Yeah, a good blender.
♪ [music] ♪
- [Vishen] So, there's another thing that happened to me because of WildFit.
This was an unfortunate thing and I'm kind of irritated by this but come check this
out. So this is the unfortunate thing about WildFit. You see these shirts over
here? I love these shirts. I've had these shirts for about four years but I can no
longer wear any of these shirts. One by one I've had to take them to the tailor to
get them altered because they're all so much baggier for me. But let me show you
something else really cool, right. I had to go and create new holes
in many of my belts. This is another one of my favorite belts. I'm a belt guy.
I love these beautiful leather belts. It came with four holes, right.
After WildFit, I had to make this hole and then this hole and then this hole
and then this hole as I started just losing this fat around my waist,
but I'm going to show you something. It's now one year after WildFit,
okay? And none of that weight has come back on. I'm still in the last hole
in this belt. In fact, I could probably go a little bit lower.
Even with all of these
new holes, my belts now have this like flappy thing.
- [Gareth] I think it's possible to have a kid and be on the WildFit diet.
Our kid is a very...like, it's a lifestyle change more than a fixed set of rules.
Everything you eat is whole foods. No processed food. No refined sugar.
But for us, we just decided to give him more carbs than we eat.
Because we're in either maintenance or for me I'm still in a slight weight loss
but obviously for our son Liam, we want him to gain as much weight until...
as much as possible.
- [Crystal] So, everything I've tried there wasn't any kind of results except for WildFit.
I've done so many diets. None of it really helped me create a discipline around food.
- [Kim] I think for me the greatest difference is, you know, during my monthly period,
I don't feel any pain anymore at all. I mean I used to have really, really bad
period cramps but...
- [Gareth] Sometimes they were so bad we had to take her to the ER. It was that serious.
- [Crystal] Going through the WildFit program and watching all those videos from Eric and
his talks was the best form of education I've ever had in terms of my nutrition.
- [Jason] Absolutely. - [Crystal] So, yeah.
- [Vishen] So this is the picture that started it all. This was while I was on WildFit.
So, the first four to six weeks, there was not that many changes.
This was around March 15. This is about six weeks later. So, between March 15 and
around six weeks later, this rapid transformation occurred. The thing about
WildFit is there's this concept called the engine flip. Your internal engine flips
from burning sugar which we all consume in unhealthy amounts to burning fat.
And when it flips to burning fat, that's when I was dropping about one kilogram or
roughly two and a half pounds a week.
- [Jason] I know I need to work out and eat well. With WildFit, the structure itself made us
go through it together as partners, and there was a structure and so you didn't
need to think about, like, "Oh, what should I be
doing for my routine?"
You actually had a routine made for you. And if you just let yourself go through that flow,
it made it so much easier because then you just focus on doing the action from the
discipline that you need to build.
- [Crystal] We also started looking into ingredients for all the things that we want to buy
because we also started realizing people put sugar in everything.
So, one of the ways that I try to avoid those things is I created my own spice.
So I kind of bought individual spices that didn't have any of those extra ingredients
and then I kind of mix them into my own Cajun spice which Jason loves, right?
- [Jason] Yeah. Oh, my god. It's my favorite and this is what I put in the eggs actually.
So, it makes them super tasty.
- [Gareth] There. This is our version of the green smoothie in a hipster mason jar with the
sustainable stainless steel straw. We've gone full hippie since we did WildFit.
- [Vishen} Now what's cool is one year after WildFit, I've stayed at that same level
because once that engine flips, it's like your body is operating in a whole new way
and so it's so easy to maintain. It's now one year since WildFit,
I've gotten even more lean.
- [Jason] For me, after WildFit it was actually when the magic started because of course I
lost a ton of weight during WildFIt but now it's actually I'm starting to bulk up,
I'm actually building the habits to go to the gym and I have the energy to do so and
at least I know that the nutrition part of my life is taken care of.
- [Gareth] For me, to anyone thinking of doing WildFit, I would say, you know,
if there's any area of your life you're looking to improve in terms of your sleep,
your productivity or focus, WildFit's been a very powerful and positive
experience for me and for us, I think.

Eric Oakley Disc Golf Roller Shots - Duration: 2:21.
(casual electronic music)
- So throwing a roller, there are a few things
that you have to think about to execute that type of shot.
So, first off we're gonna talk disc selection.
The more understable disc is going to
wanna pull to the right.
A more straight disc is gonna wanna
hold longer and straighter, so you're gonna
get some really good distance in your rollers.
And if you throw and overstable disc,
it's gonna wanna finish to the left.
Very similar to how the discs fly in the air.
So after we've figured out the disc selection,
now we start to think about the mechanics of the throw.
So one thing I'm really trying to think about,
if I have an understable disc like an Underworld,
I'm really thinking about throwing this disc
with just a little bit of anny,
but pretty much as hard as I can.
So now, what the disc is naturally going to do
is it's going to pull and come to the ground.
Now this angle is really important.
If we're throwing an overstable disc,
we might wanna get it down closer to upright
because we know the disc is gonna wanna fight us
and pull over to the left.
With those straight discs, we can lay 'em down
and them up down close to upright,
but maybe a little bit left because
they're gonna wanna stand up a little bit
and continue rolling straight.
Now with these understable discs,
if you want more distance or if you want them to turn quick.
Turn quick: get it down upright.
If you want it to hold a long time,
get it down to come down on that angle.
We see this angle, this is a good angle
if you have a lot of speed coming into the ground,
the disc is gonna wanna roll and stand up
and keep rolling and then fall plate side.
When thinking about these there's a couple different types
of ways to throw these rollers.
More traditional way, is really getting your shoulders back,
and getting the angle onto the disc
and allowing you to put the disc down
on the angle that you want it.
You can watch a lot of top players, they do that.
There's another style of roller that
I like to throw, but I also use that other style as well
because you have to be able to attack every shot.
This style of roller is where you're
trying to throw the disc very hard,
with a touch of anny.
We're using a flippy disc, as we've talked about.
With this, we're throwing more just
a normal, natural throw, and allowing the disc
to do the work, and get down on its edge
and start rolling.

Classical Musicians React: BLACKPINK 'Playing With Fire' vs 'Stay' - Duration: 16:19.
Lindsey: So uh Umu
Umu told us we were gonna be reacting to BLACKPINK
and I love BLACKPINK they're my favorite group
I stan them
Lindsey Did I say that right Umu: Yes
Lindsey: So I decided to dress for the occasion
So I wore
Black
Black
Pink
BLACKPINK
Davis: She looks great Lindsey: I look great
Davis: Man make me whistle like a missile (HAHAHAHOHMYGOSHICANT)
Umu and Lindsey: HAHAHAHHAHAHAXDXD
*Rossini's Semiramide Overture plays*
Umu: Wait Henry is out of the shot Henry: That's a problem
Umu: That is a problem!
Henry: Hey now
Emiel: Let's get close and cuddly Fiona: Hey now, hey nooowww
Umu: You're a rockstar, get your game on Everyone else: This is what dreeeaammss are made of
Umu: Wait Emiel introduce yourself
Emiel: Oh my name's Emiel haha, I play trumpet
Umu: What's your major Henry: He's really good
Emiel: Jazz Trumpet
Henry: And also
Emiel: Oh brain and cognitive science
Henry: Hahaha Emiel: I forget about that
Umu: So this is BLACKPINK
Umu: I sent him the BLACKPINK reaction so he's seen Boombayah and Whistle Shimon: Oh you watched us reacting to it Naoki: Yeah
Shimon: I see I see Naoki: Yeah where you say literally nothing
Umu: First one is Playing With Fire. These are the most recent songs
also Playing With Fire and Stay were released at the exact same time Kevin: Just like fire
Yunyi: Stay and Play With Fire
Umu: Well it's Playing With Fire
You wanna STAY and join me PLAYING WITH FIRE Kevin: Wooooow Yunyi: That does not make grammatical sense
Umu: Let's do it BLACKPINK Henry: *screech* Four Three Two Fiona: Oooonneee Emiel: *Pterodactyl noise*
Gwen: Very pro that
Naoki: Well at least she's not standing on the piano
Gwen: Piano bass-y conglomeration Hugo: Yeah it's like-
Henry: AAAAHHH OOOHHHHH Emiel: That's a pretty sick beat
Kevin: This- Yunyi: Mixed really well
Hugo: Sh*t son Gwen: Oh my god I'm in love
Fiona: That just got so hype real fast like that was just instant Henry: This is very hype
Lindsey: They're still hot
Kevin: Look at that
Lindsey: I still stan them
Hugo: Dude holy f*** yeah Gwen: I don't like her voice but I still love this
Hugo: I love her voice, I think her voice is great
Fiona: It sounds so thick, like her voice is
Thick with Q or a C either one
Naoki: It's interesting how they all have different timbres of voice
Shimon: Mmmmmm Naoki: So you can tell it's a different person singing and just adds to the contrast
Shimon: Cuz I guess normally in classical music you're trying to blend Naoki: It's the same person. You're trying to blend yeah
Shimon: But, the contrast is nice Naoki: But in here- Yeah
Davis: Also I like it that all 4 of their voices are pretty unique
Davis: To themselves Lindsey: Yeah but they all fit together SUPER well
Lindsey: *Doing the dance lol* Davis: So they just went through all 4 of them just then and I can tell that it was a different person each time
Emiel: Groovy Fiona: It's like, the background is so good
Fiona: Bahdupbuhdoop Henry: Their hands are close
Henry: That means they're gonna get even
Clooseeeer
They're gonna- The tree's on fire
Emiel: A lot of things are on fire bud
Gwen: Woah
Fiona: Just like this beat!
Hugo: Oh sh*t that's cool cinematography Gwen: This is bomb
Hugo: Oh that's so cool with their hair
Fiona: It's beautiful and the beat's fire
The mood is fire
Yunyi: Obviously I don't speak Korean
Fiona: It's all around lit
Yunyi: But there's something about the way she pronounces her words that is just soo Kevin: I agree
Yunyi: So like
Swagalicious (Defnintion of Swagalicious: Lisa)
Kevin: Uh huh
Emiel: Everything's on fire in this video Fiona: The water's on fire now
Henry: The water's on fire Fiona: At this point. Just make it happen Emiel: Everything spontaneously combusts at any moment
Davis: Yeah
Henry: Pocket dab *Pocket dabs again* Emiel: I saw that hahaha
Kevin: I like not too sexualized girl groups
Fiona: I forgot how much I love them Emiel: They are good dancers
Fiona: AAAHH
Hugo: F*** they are super good
Yunyi: I mean
It's not sexualizing them it's just it's a fact
She is so hot (That's what happens when you play with fire)
Gwen: Oh my gaaawwd. Everything's on fire Hugo: I love the chord progression of this song. The chord progression of this song is really good
Gwen: Including my heart (Gwen you so extra lol)
Hugo: I'm like "I like the chord progression" Gwen's like "Everything's on firee" Gwen: Now it's raining
Emiel: Beat drop was a little predictable but it's still groovy
Gwen: Don't play with me boy
Emiel: Save me
Fiona: Hahaha Umu: Duhduhduhduhduh
(I ship it)
Umu: BTS Save Me (I WAS THINKING THAT TOO)
Emiel: And the water's purple!
Henry: HAHAHHA Emiel: Hehehe
Everyone: Hahahaha fiona: how!!??
Emiel: I'm waiting for it to go on fire though
Hugo: I feel like how you never see the guy's face
Gwen: Fate! Hugo: Fa- well that was very subtle
Hugo: Fate
Naoki: It just stopped and it was very
Gwen: Aint none of this BTS symbolism sh*t Both: Hahah
Gwen: We want you to get something we gonna put it in big letters and light it on fire (That's the YG way)
Hugo: Yeah that pretty much sums it up I think
Yunyi: So is she saying
Her fate is dangerous or like-
Gwen: *Blows air*
Yunyi: Her romance is dangerous Kevin: Her attraction to fire will lead her to play with it cuz that is fate (That's called arson)
Naoki: That was a good upbeat song yeah Shimon: Yeah
Emiel: It's done
Henry: Dammit
Fiona: She's like damn I burned everything there's nothing left to burn Emiel: Black..Pink except the C and the N are backwards
*Happy Lindsey is happy*
Shimon: You know
I think I really like BLACKPINK
Naoki: Oh yeah Shimon: Yeah
Naoki: I wonder why
Shimon: Compared to Mamamoo (Boiiiiii tsk tsk)
Umu: *GASP*
Umu: Ok visually you like them better, Ok Shimon: Visually I like them better
Umu: But music wise
Shimon: I don- ah eeehhh
They're
Equal
Umu: Ok what did you think of that one
Lindsey: I liked it a lot!
Davis: That was Blackpink for sure Lindsey: That was definitely Blackpink
Davis: If you hadn't told me the artist's name even though it's a kpop group I probably would've been able to guess that it was Blackpink
Because it was similar to the other Blackpink that we listened to but I think in a good way
I think they've found their niche in the music and they're exploiting it really well
Umu: Ok musically
Kevin: Mixed well and catchy Yunyi: Very, very, very well produced
Yunyi: Everything was like crisp, clean Kevin: And things popped out when they should've
Kevin: And nothing popped out when they shouldn't have, a.k.a the percussion wasn't smashed
Smashing our brains in
Yunyi: Just the perfect amount of balance of listening in 2040p
2060p?
What's double of 1080
Kevin: 2160 Yunyi: 2160 hehe
Umu: Anything interesting chord wise, progression wise? Both: Not really
Umu: Mkay
Yunyi: It was mostly like arpeggiators Kevin: Dun dun duhduh duh dun dun
Kevin: Duh duh duhduh dun dun dun
EEHH
*Save me pls*
Fiona: I'm a fan Emiel: That beat drop was awesome Henry: Yeah
Emiel: The beat is cool, the chorus- Fiona: Bedeepbedepbedboop
Emiel: If they delayed the beat drop on one of the choruses that would've actually been the most Fiona: They kinda- they did, they did on one Henry: By two bars
Fiona: Not enough?
Henry: No
Fiona: It was still predictable Emiel: No I mean like if you put the highs of the chorus, they go in like in time
But then the bass comes in later, like a couple beats later, that's pretty sick Fiona: Oooohhh *Henry gives example*
Henry: Yeah that's what you mean
Fiona: So it starts but not really Emiel: I would've lost shit but it was still groovy, I liked the beat
Umu: So yeah this is Stay, this was released the exact same time as Playing With Fire Naoki: Oh this is Blackpink again
Umu: Yes and this is more of a relaxed song so I think Shimon might like it we'll see Naoki: Oh cool
Naoki: No but upbeat is good
Shimon: Yeah but chill, chill is good too Naoki: Chill is like uh why
Naoki: I mean that's what classical music is for right
Shimon: No that's not- That's not no take that back Naoki: No, no... Shostakovich
Umu: So Yunyi and Kevin have already seen Stay Kevin: But we Stayed for more
Yunyi: But it did Stay in my memory (The meme team everyone)
Umu: It was a long long long time ago when I was immature and I was like oh no they didn't like it, so I deleted it
But we're gonna just
Umu: They're gonna watch it a second time Kevin: Hopefully we're gonna like it much more this time
Kevin: Go! Yunyi: Oh I remember the color palettes of this
Yunyi: It was pretty Kevin: It's a nice video
Shimon: Mcdonalds (This boy I swear)
shimon: but due to copyright naoki: but it's like...
Naoki: Run down
Lindsey: The harmonica
Kevin: That's better than Taylor Swift it's got a nice little harmonica in D flat which
Ok
Gwen: Oh I like their voices better in this context
Yunyi: Her voice is so sweet
Shimon: I like it, I like it Naoki: Yeah
Shimon: Is that E.T.?
(Shimon wtf)
Naoki: What?
Davis: She's not playing that guitar
Umu: She knows how to play it, that might just be the editing Davis: She knows, oh ok ok
Emiel: I like how everything is just broken
Henry: I really dig those white shoes, honestly
Emiel: That is a cool jumper right there, Oh no blazer, woah
Lindsey: Does her jacket have eggs and bacon on it
Yunyi: Oh that's a really cool setup. All the cocktail drinks
Kevin: See this song when it gets hard
Naoki: Dahdahdun, isn't it
Kevin: It sounds like the mic was way too close to the- to the hole
Naoki: The progression dahdahdum dahdahdum dahdahdum all over again Shimon: Oh yeah yeah yeah
Yunyi: I like it cuz it gets some of the bass that comes out Kevin: A little yeah I can see it
Yunyi: I actually really like that effect Kevin: It doesn't sound very natural to me
lindsey: (heaven is a place where nothing ever) happens. deep.
Naoki: It's interesting how they mix styles
Kevin: Felony
Naoki: Like normally people just stick to one style
Kevin: Oh really
Ooohh
Naoki: Ooohh
Naoki: Oh I thought there was gonna be a drop there or something Shimon: Yeah
Naoki: It felt like it Shimon: I thought it was gonna be more heavier but then it turned out to be really light
Yunyi: Clapping on 2 and 4
Davis: That was a very interesting juxtaposition to this doomsday set that they're walking around right now
Yunyi: They mixed together the snapping and the clapping, that's pretty Kevin: Exactly, yes
Yunyi: Pretty neat Kevin: Yeah
Kevin: We didn't notice this last time
Umu: Are you liking it better than last time Kevin: I think so
Kevin: I mean- Yunyi: I'm trying to put aside my bias against acoustic songs like these and just try to approach it from an objective standpoint
And I mean cuz it's really high quality work, it's just not my favorite genre
Lindsey: Well that was interesting harmonically like the vocal line
Went somewhere where I did not think it was gonna go against the bass line
Yunyi: Oh I liked how it cut out
Davis: Yeah, cuz the bass line is just descending
Emiel: No it goes from 2 minor to 1 major in the key of
Both: D Flat
Lindsey: Oh you know it's because it ended on a leading tone
Shimon: It's an interesting combination with the visual, you wouldn't expect the audio to be like this
Gwen: YYAASSSSSS
Emiel: Woow Davis: That was pretty dope!
Emiel: Wait now all 4 of them come together Fiona: They found each other in the abandoned city Henry: Taylor, I don't know that brand of guitar
Fiona: Yeah this is Taylor Swift af Emiel: *Whistles like a missle* Henry: Shhh
Emiel: Get off that bus it's gonna explode
Henry: Get off that bus Fiona: It's gonna set on fire according to Blackpink logic everything will set on fire Emiel: According to GTA
Henry: The laws of Blackpink
Gwen: That was cool *Does the cool thing*
Davis: Where is ...they?
Gwen: Yas fishnets
Davis: I mean i'm trying not to assume gender
Hugo: This would be easy to do a cover of too (Yall go request in the comments for Hugo and Gwen to cover this)
(I love Jennie's voice)
Hugo: Just sayin
Umu: Ok
Gwen: I like keep trying to read the random text scattered throughout
Hugo: They're very good with their signs I'll say that
Emiel: It kinda has the same guitar pattern going but it's groovy
Fiona: I love the harp- the harp Emiel: Banuhnuhnuhnuhnuh
Hugo: Oh sh*t that is a much different message than if you don't read the subtext
Gwen: Heaven is a place
Shimon: Are they going for the country thing?
Yunyi: This is very ominous for a music video cuz they're kind of in a destroyed, abandoned area
Henry: *Humming* Emiel: part ends on a nice...
Emiel: Imperfect, authentic cadence. ending on the third Fiona: Aaayyyyyyy
Kevin: So that's actually happy Yunyi: Oh! woah where did all those people come from
Hugo: I'm really confused and concerned for their well being, girls run away
Naoki: Yeah this is really upbeat for like snow and dark- Shimon: Yeah
Naoki: Oh where did all those people come from Shimon: Yeah- You just noticed XD
Naoki: Yeah no I just noticed
Oh and then now they're gone
What are they, are they ghosts or something
I'm not very observant if you haven't realized
Henry: Would you look at that Fiona: Cool, I'm a fan
Henry: Yeah me too Fiona: Wow
Fiona: Gotta Stanamanmana blah (One day guys, one day)
Emiel: Dang Henry: You do that- you do this everytime
Fiona: Staannly
Kevin: I like it
Better
Umu: Yeah Davis: What were the people at the end there
Lindsey: I feel like ghosts could be- if it was referencing death Davis: Maybe, maybe ok Umu: Ooh Davis has a
Lindsey: But yeah
Davis: So this person that they wish was there is dead
So all those people are other dead people that are always there
But you just can't see them
So that's why they kept appearing and disappearing
So it's like there
So really they did- This person they wish was there did stay but they just don't know
Umu: Watch us be completely off because we don't know all the English lyrics hahaha Davis: Oh yeah no yeah. This is purely just from visual Lindsey: Oh well probably
Lindsey: Representation Davis: Yeah yeah
Hugo: They have a very interesting group dynamic
Yunyi: I mean yeah I like it better but it's still not my favoite Kevin: Yeah, I think it's a much- I think
Kevin: Whistle and Boombayah is a very good pairing while the previous song and this one are also very good
Cuz those two is more po- everything pops out more. These two are more mixed
They're more... harmonious or less... percussive. So I like the pairing
Shimon: I like their music (That grin boi)
Umu: Can you guys talk about, if you remember what you thought of the first time you heard this
Yunyi: Yeah I- Kevin: I think it's just very like we couldn't hear the, what it sounded like with headphones so it just sounded like a very flat song
Yunyi: Yeah Kevin: With-
Yunyi: Yeah like there's not- like there's nothing too special to the vocal melody. I think we just like- the flatness kinda got to us Kevin: But I think with headphones also
Kevin: The quality of their voice really
pops out
Cuz now we're really noticing how good the singers are
Yunyi: What I really appreciate about- about them is that each of the singers have a very- or not just
The singers, the members, they all have a very unique timbre to their voice
Whereas like with some groups their vocals seem to all mix together, you have no idea who's singing, but with Blackpink it's very distinct Kevin: That's true
Like they have a very unique quality to each of their, their vocals Kevin: Also mellow rapping
Kevin: Is a thing
And it's great
Umu: Which one did you like better
*Gwen in deep thought*
Umu: Playing With Fire? Lindsey: The first one
Umu: Ooh you like Playing With Fire, and you liked Davis: Uuumm I think I- I think oohh uuhhh
Gwen: The second one
Umu: Ok
Davis: I liked- Lindsey: I liked the little claps in this one and I liked the- this one felt more like a comfortable kind of vibe you know like
Just chillin' with your friends and you're sitting around singing a song (In an abandoned city nbd)
Davis: Yeah Lindsey: But I think i liked the first one better it felt more Blackpink
Davis: Yeah I think I liked this one a lot so much because I listened to the other 3 and then to have this stark contrast
Umu: So you're voting for- Davis: Right afterwards, maybe more likely to end up enjoying it more I think because it was just a different thing
But I still think the first one was really really good, but being in the sort of different vein of Blackpink was nice for a little while at least
Umu: So you're voting second one Davins: I think I'm gonna vote second one yeah
Gwen: I was just yeah I was feelin' it, I was happy, I was good
And it wasn't too like whiney
It was like
My life would be fun if you left but also if you wanna stay that's cool
And then there was some like literally 50 people only wearing white showed up and then I was confused and creeped out
Gwen: But Hugo: It was all the McDonalds workers (LOL)
Naoki: I'll probably listen to the first one more just because it's more partier, party-ish
Both: The first one
Kevin: Playing with fire because that's what I do for breakfast
*Save me pls*
Shimon: I like the second one better Umu: Ok
Shimon: It's laid back
Naoki: Well obviously we're different people hahaha
Shimon: Clearly
Hugo: It's hard cuz they're different songs, like they're different kinds of songs Gwen: Yeah
Hugo: I liked
I liked the first song contrary to you know that's a fair point ??? Gwen: Contrary to what
Hugo: Like just their tone and their beltyness Gwen: Well that was
Hugo: For the first- for the first one Gwen: OOOHHHHHHH
Hugo: But I like that, I think it was appropriate for the song and I think they did a good job with it
I think they have
We're so used to watching a lot of boy groups so we're used to these guys with really high voices
Umu: Mhm Hugo: And they're singing up there
Hugo: So now we have these girls, these women
Who are singing lower in their register and it's a different kind of sound
And I think they were able to get a little more resonance out of it than the high floatyness you get with a lot of these boys groups, these boy bands
And I think they're f***in' killing it I think they did a good job in the first one and I think they also used that floatyness a little but more in the second one
Hugo: Put me at .75 for the second one and .25 for the first one
Gwen: Alright you know that orange ribbon that;s tied on her wrist
It's the color and shape of Kraft cheese singles
Hugo: *Why is she like this*
Lindsey: May I also just say when we went to go drop Davis off at the train station
Um I- we had been listening to Whistle in my house on the speaker system before and so the entire ride there he kept just sitting there going
*Whistles Whistle*
Lindsey: And then I would point it out, the fact that he was doing that and he'd be like "Oh my god I hate you"
Davis: i just get progressively more and more angry
Davis: Cuz it's like one of those things you just subconsciously if nothing's going on you just hum something Lindsey: You just like whistle like a missle bomb bomb

BEAT The Israel Cycling Academy Squad?! | Tour of Arad | Stage 1B - Duration: 6:07.
All right, stage 1b, done, finished.
Done and settled.
A 20 kilometer race with 800 height meters.
It's been though.
It's been a very tough ride, but I managed to finish number seven, which is a very good
result I think.
Definitely after the two crashes in stage 1A, the criterium.
I can be very happy with todays result.
There were three to four, maybe even five Israel cycling academy riders in front of
me.
I was second of all the other guys, which is a very good result
I think.
So, I hope I
can sleep tonight very well, because of the wounds on my legs and all over the body after
the crashes earlier today.
Then tomorrow there is the 155 kilometer stage, the Gran Fondo Dead Sea, with the pretty famous,
at least in Israel, Scorpion's pass.
Or Scorpion's Climb.
It is going to be such an interesting stage tomorrow.
I think I have the fifth or sixth place in the General Classification right now.
Definitely something to defend.
I think I have got the support of my teammates, although I just joined them today to be honest.
I'll just see how it goes tomorrow.
Thank you guys for watching, see you tomorrow.

China opposes Washington's new legislation that tightens sanctions on N. Korea - Duration: 0:41.
China has expressed opposition to the United States' new legislation that aims to tighten
sanctions on North Korea.
Washington's new legislation--the Korea Interdiction and Modernization of Sanctions Act-- passed
on Tuesday local time,... bans the import of North Korean oil, employment of North Korean
workers and operations of any ships owned by North Korea in U.S. waters.
China's foreign ministry in a regular press briefing said it opposes a country slapping
independent sanctions on North Korea through a domestic law.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying's comments seemed to point to the
U.S. saying that each country should direct efforts towards alleviating tensions on the
Korean peninsula rather than accelerating them.

Columbia Lake Village North - Residence Tour - Duration: 2:21.
Hi, my name is Sharon and I'm a PHD student in computer science
I live in Columbia Lake Village Graduate Community which is comprised of two bedroom and four
bedroom townhouse units.
This community is home to graduate students and students with families.
The community centre is located between the Columbia Lake Village north and south communities.
Making it a convenient location to meet up with friends to study or play a game of pool.
Another benefit of living here is the complimentary breakfast that is held for grads every other
Friday.
The front desk is also located here.
It is open from 8am to midnight, 7 days a week.
The friendly front desk assistant is always here to answer any questions or address any
maintenance concerns that you may have.
They can also help you print something off or help you rent any movies, games or equipment
that you may need.
There are also community assistants who are here to help while the front desk is closed.
They ensure the safety of our community and are here to help if you lose your keys or
need assistance at any time of night.
Welcome to my two bedroom unit.
I live here with my roommate.
All of the furniture and utilities are included in our residence fee.
The living room is a comfortable space to relax and we have a small patio area in the
backyard.
So this is our kitchen that comes fully equipped with a stove, a full size fridge, and many
cabinets for storage space.
As we head downstairs into our basement, there is a lot of storage space if you need it.
There is also a laundry room, and there are no additional fees to use the machines.
This is my bedroom.
It comes with a comfortable twin-sized bed, a dresser, a desk, a closet.
It also has a large window for lots of natural light.
Every townhouse has two bathrooms.
A full bathroom upstairs, and a half bathroom in the basement.
I am proud to call CLV-North my home because of the community here.
I really enjoy living in CLV because of the quiet environment that is very conducive to
research and studying.
I also enjoy the community events where I can meet my neighbors and make new friends.
Lastly, I really appreciate the friendly and helpful staff who make CLV feel more like
home.

Hey y'all We are Alt Facts.
Sing along if you know it!
Build a wall of books between us in our bed
Repeat, repeat the words I know we both said
Relax into the need we get so comfortable Remember when I was so strange and likeable
1, 2, 3, 4!
I just want back in your head I just want back in your head
I'm not unfaithful but I'll stray
When I get a little scared When I get a little scared
When I get a little
When I pull away from holding hands with you I know these habits hurt important parts of you
Remember when how sweet and unexplainable Nothing like this person so unloveable
I just want back in your head I just want back in your head
I'm not unfaithful but I'll stray
When I get a little scared When I get a little scared
When I get a little
Run, run, run Run
Run, run, run Run
I just want back in your head I just want back in your head
I just want back in your head I just want back in your head
I'm not ungrateful but I'll stray I'm not ungrateful but I'll stray
I'm not ungrateful but I'll stray I'm not ungrateful but I'll stray
Thank you very much, we are Alt Facts.

Growth vs Fixed Mindsets - Duration: 9:19.
How's it going everyone I'm Dono and this
is how to happy. In this video I'm going
to talk about the difference between
growth and fixed mindsets. It's fairly
likely that you've actually already
heard of a growth or fixed mindset. This
is a topic or idea that's been fairly
popular recently. It's basically a
framework for breaking down how you
think about traits and talents, whether
or not they can be influenced. For those
who are unfamiliar with those topics I'm
going to jump into it a little bit more
and kind of break it out for you. We'll
start by defining what a growth mindset
is and it's pretty much exactly what it
sounds like. People who have a growth
mindset feel that traits and
characteristics and skills can all be
developed through effort. So the more
that you work on something the better
you're going to get at it. Now that
doesn't mean that everyone is capable of
accomplishing everything or that there's
no such thing as natural talent, that's
not what it means. What it does mean is
if you spend an extended period of time
working on something you're going to get
better at it and this applies in a broad
range of contexts. So it could be
something like throwing a baseball, which
if you keep practicing you're going to
be getting better at but it also applies
to things like managing your temper or
being nicer to people. Things that are a
little bit more broad but then you can
get down to specifics and work on them.
People with a growth mindset tend to
take on challenges more proactively and
see them as exciting. They also tend to
grow more because they take on more
stuff. The other thing is a growth
mindset tends to lead to more happiness
because people feel like they're more in
control of what they're doing. Again a
growth mindset doesn't mean anyone can
do anything. There's still strengths and
weaknesses. Some people are good at some
things other people are not as good at
them naturally, but what a growth mindset
means is that if you continuously put in
dedicated effort you're going to get
better at whatever you're working. A
fixed mindset is a belief system which
basically says you have whatever skills
or talents or traits that you're born
with and that's the end of it. people
with this kind of mindset tend
to do a lot more evaluating than
actually you know going out working
because they feel like putting in
effort doesn't really make an impact.
You're just born with whatever you have.
On top of that because people with a
fixed mindset feel powerless to change
things it also makes them frustrated a
lot of the time because they feel like
they have only a little bit of control.
So let me expand on a fixed mindset with
an example. Someone of the fixed mindset
might say something like I'd love to go
to Europe but I'm just not the kind of
person that travels. Although it's clear
that they have the desire to travel the
way that their belief system is built
it's that in their core essence and
being they are not the kind of person
who travels so they can't do it and that
belief prevents them from ever going or
looking into going. In a growth mindset
that same type of thought would look
something like this: I would love to go
to Europe but I haven't traveled that
much I think it would be an interesting
challenge. The person still recognizes
that they don't have the experience but
it's not a deterrent. It's actually
something that they get excited about.
The challenge of going there without
really knowing that much about travel.
Let's try a few shorter examples. I'm not
good at math compared to I haven't
studied math enough to be good at it. Or
if I don't know the answer I'm stupid
compared to if I don't know the answer
I'll ask for help. Or I'm a fat person
versus I can move the weight if I make
the right adjustments. Or I'm not good at
tennis compared to I need to practice my
tennis skills so i can improve. So again
you can see that one of these mindsets
basically locks you into whatever
position you're already in while the
other one gives you the opportunity to
look for new challenges and take them on.
I's a nice distinction to make but what
can you really do about it. Well if
you're really deeply in a fixed mindset
you probably don't even believe that
your mindset can change but I don't
think that you would be watching this
video if you're in that camp so we'll go
over a few ways that you can help shift
kind of some of your fixed tendencies
into growth tendencies. The best way that
I know of to start shifting your mindset
is to reflect on times where you've
grown and then use those reflections to
challenge some of your
fixed mindset beliefs. Luckily most of
us have kind of a split view on the
world right. Some things we look at
through a growth mindset other things we
look at as fixed. By using some of the
growth mindset experiences we can
challenge and replace some of our fixed
mindset experiences. One easy way to do
this is take a little bit of time to
think of something that you put an
effort and you improved at. A fairly
approachable example is learning how to
play a sport or learning how to play an
instrument. So if you've done that or
something other thing that you put an
effort and built up expertise in, think
about what that process was like. Then
identify something else that you think
is a little bit more concrete. Maybe you
lose your temper a lot, people tend to
think personality traits are a lot more
rigid. So let's say you lose your temper
a lot and then start comparing and
contrasting those two sets of ideas. So
if we're talking about learning a sport
I want you to reflect on how long it
took you to get good at the sport. How
much practice and effort did you put in
to reach the level of skill that you are
at? On the other hand I want you to put
your other idea over here so if it's you
know your temper think about what would
happen if you spent the same amount of
time working on your temper. So if you
spent five years learning to play a
sport compare that to your temper if you
spent five years trying to figure out
ways to reduce your temper or to make it
more manageable or to make it so that
you have less blow-ups what do you think
would happen? If you worked on ways every
single day to manage your temper and
kept looking up new material all the
time, do you think it would be a little
bit easier to manage? And if you go back
to the sport that's that's kind of what
happened. You put in dedicated continuous
effort and over time it changed. And when
you frame that against something like
your temper and working on it
continuously for an extended period of
time, it's just much harder to believe
that there won't be any difference in
the outcomes. All right on top of that
there's a few other notable mindset
tweaks that you can try to think about
that may help you move from fixed to
growth. Recognize that the brain is a
muscle just like anything else with
enough training you
can kind of rebuild some of the habits
and some of the structure. You might be
familiar with different body types right
so there's like the heavier one, the
middle one and like a skinny one and
your brain is kind of the same way. You
might be preset to some dispositions but
with enough work you can still shape it
into a way that you feel really good
about it. It's the same thing with your
body like if you work out enough you can
still build a good figure if you
understand what you're working with to
start. You can also try creating goals,
taking action, and tracking your progress.
This will basically prove out to you
over time how you're improving in
certain skills. It may not be like
monumental leaps in a day might take a
month or years to improve in something
but by tracking your progress you can
see over time that you're getting better
and prove to yourself that you're
growing. You can also try taking some
time to reflect on past accomplishments.
Things that were really difficult for
you by definition you putting in effort
made it so that you could accomplish
whatever the thing was. The difficulty
itself is what proves that you putting
an effort made that accomplishment
happen. Again shifting from the fixed to
the growth. One last thing is to accept
that failure is part of the growth
process. If you see people that are
experts and think that they just have
natural talent it's because you're
seeing the end process of a really long
period of time for them working at
something. You're not seeing all the
hours where they made mistakes, so just
know that growth happens through failure
that's how you learn from mistakes. Once
you accept that failure is part of the
process you can start taking on a little
bit more challenging tasks without as
much fear. Alright let's move on to the
exercise, so I've got number one identify
one activity where you put in a lot of
effort and saw your talents grow or you
saw a favorable outcome because of your
effort. Number two identify an activity or
trait that you think cant be changed.
Number three compare and contrast the two.
Use a long time line and think about how
realistic it is that this trait or skill
wouldn't improve with constant and
dedicated practice. Again like we were
talking about earlier if you worked on
something for five years everything
day, do you really think honestly that
there would be no change? Anyway that's
all I've got for this video, hopefully it
helps you shift from a fixed to a growth
mindset. Beyond that if you've got any
