Whether you're building an arcade or some other contraption the goto board for most

of these projects has been the Raspberry Pi series of single board computers.

Since the Raspberry Pi runs an ARM Cortex processor, you would normally run Raspbian

- which is a Linux based operating system.

If you want to run Windows, you're stuck with Windows 10 IoT or Internet of Things.

This can be less than desirable because Windows 10 IoT will not run most desktop applications

and can be very limited in functionality.

Well now there's a single board computer running an Intel Atom processor that comes

pre-loaded with a full copy of Windows 10.

It has x86 GPIO and even includes an integrated Arduino.

Let me introduce you to the LattePanda!

Now many of you over the years have asked me if there is a Windows based computer that

you can use in my arcade projects and other projects.

And the answer has been "Sure!

Just go ahead and build any Windows based PC and put it into your arcade.

Well unfortunately when building a bartop arcade or some of my smaller projects a full-size

PC isn't really optimal and may not even fit.

Well the good news is they guys over at DFRobot have been listening to us and they have come

up with this single board computer that is slightly larger than a Raspberry Pi and runs

a full version of Windows 10.

In fact it comes pre-loaded from the factory with Windows 10 and this is perfect for smaller

projects like bartop arcade cabinets.

So let's take a look at it!

The LattePanda comes boxed in some pretty nice packaging.

As you can see I purchased the enhanced version that has 4GB RAM and 64GB of flash storage.

There is a cheaper version that comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB of flash if your looking

to save a little money.

Besides the LattePanda itself, you'll also find a wireless antenna in the box that can

be remote mounted for better reception.

Of course, you can certainly install a 3rd party antenna if you prefer.

Let's start the tour of the LattePanda on the side with the USB ports.

On this side you will find an HDMI 1.4a port, a single USB 3 high speed port, and two USB

2.0 ports.

I really like this configuration because it gives you USB ports for a mouse and keyboard,

and leaves your USB 3 port open for peripherals such as external storage devices.

The HDMI port is capable of 4K resolution, but only at 30 frames per second.

Turning the LattePanda counter-clockwise you'll find a reset button for the Arduino chip along

with the Arduino header which is where you would connect devices and breadboards for

your projects.

In addition to supporting a full Arduino you will also find a smaller header which contains

GPIO directly from the processor.

This opens a world of options for controlling external devices.

If you were using this for an Arcade for example you could use the GPIO to activate and flash

lights or run cabinet shakers.

Additionally on this side you will find the power and reset buttons.

On the next side of the LattePanda you will find a 100 megabit Ethernet port, a 3.5 mm

audio jack for connecting speakers or headphones, a micro-SD card slot for supporting additional

storage, and a micro-USB connector for input power.

The LattePanda requires a 5 volt 2 amp input minimum.

If you're going to run additional accessories I would recommend going for a 2.5 amp supply.

Most of your fast charging cell phone adapters will meet this requirement.

On the last side of the Latte Panda you will find the screen connectors for LattePanda's

7 inch IPS display, and a connector for the touch screen overlay.

This can be fantastic for adding a small display to some Internet of Things project.

Here is something interesting about the LattePanda.

They provide some of the Arduino inputs in a second form factor called Plug and Play

Sensors Connectors.

They sell an array of temperature, humidity, motion sensors, and other sensors that can

easily be plugged into these connectors.

They've basically idiot proofed them for use in schools and learning environments.

Some other things to note about the LattePanda are the inclusion of a Realtek wireless chip

that offers BlueTooth 4.0 and 802.11n Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity.

I was also quite surprised to learn that the CPU is actually located on the bottom of the

device, rather than the top side.

This causes some issues with venting the processor which we will see in just a minute.

The case sold by DFRobot is made from laser cut acrylic that comes on these sheets.

You'll need to pop out all of the pieces from the larger sheets in order to build the case.

It took me quite some time to remove the adhesive paper layers from all of the components.

Now I have to tell you, assembling the LattePanda case is like a Chinese puzzle.

Putting one part in causes another part to fall off.

But once you get everything lined up it goes together pretty easily.

I really recommend waiting until you've built the case before installing the board.

This will allow you to precisely mount the CPU fan on the bottom of the case and everything

will align much easier.

So let's talk about a few more things surrounding the LattePanda.

So one thing I want to mention that I really find to be a flaw with the design of this

is that the processor is on the bottom and the fan is also on the bottom, which means

when you set the LattePanda down on a desk or surface the fan is almost obstructed.

So if you were to set this thing down on anything like a towel for fabric or anything like that

it would block the fan flow, er air flow from the fan and so I really don't like that

design.

Now here's the good news.

If you're putting this in something like an arcade cabinet, the case is really 100%

optional.

There is no reason to really have it all.

Just put some standoffs in your cabinet and just mount the LattePanda directly to that.

The other thing I want to mention is that if you're going to use the LattePanda for

something like an arcade there is some really awesome software out there that you should

checkout.

It's called RetreoArch.

And that is actually what the Raspberry Pie version RetroPie is originally based on is

RetroArch.

So it can emulate all of the same video game consoles and arcades that the RetroPie installation

can emulate only all on Windows.

And so I highly recommend that you go check that out.

KIC 8462852 Update for 07/15/2017 - Duration: 6:11.

This is an update in my continuing coverage of KIC 8462852 or Boyajian's Star for July

15, 2017.

For the backstory, see my other videos on this channel or the playlist dedicated to

the subject, and this particular video is also the first of a two part series on stars

that dim and disappear and the possibility, though remote due to the odds, that we might

detect Dyson spheres under construction evident by a star's dimming and eventual disappearance.

That possibility is still on the table for Boyajian's star, though, at least to my

eyes, growing more remote.

The second part of this series will be out tomorrow, and explores the idea more generally.

But with KIC 8462852 specifically, the odds are dropping for alien activity for two reasons.

Number one, some of the data collected by Dr. Boyajian indicate that the star's light

is dipping more deeply in different wavelengths, that would be consistent with dust.

Number two, it would not be consistent with monolithic solid alien megastructures, which

should, due to being solid, block visible light evenly across all wavelengths.

And there is another problem, the long-term dimming trend.

This has gotten really strange over the last ten days.

Photometry from both Boyajian's team, which uses two different observatories, and a private

observatory operated by Bruce Gary, seem to agree that this star has dropped in brightness

over the last ten days in a sort of flatline sustained dim.

It's anyone's guess as to what this means, the star could suddenly dip further out of

nowhere, or return to normal flux, or normal in the sense of accounting for the long-term

trend.

Or this could be a permanent feature and represent "the new normal" as Dr. Boyajian notes

in her blog, link in the description below, and be a feature of the long term dimming

trend.

The problem with the long-term trend and megastructures however, and I've said this before, is that

if this represents an alien civilization constructing something then they are moving seriously fast,

so much so that no future engineering that I can think of would be capable of this.

An expanding and cascading dust cloud however could do this easily, though so could a disintegrating

megastructure.

As such, it always pay to remember what Arthur Clarke said, and I paraphrase, any sufficiently

advanced technology would look like magic to primitives like us, so who knows and the

alien megastructures do remain on the table as a possibility, no matter how unlikely that

might be in this specific case.

And that may be a good thing, and here's why, and I caution that this is where I enter

the land of sci fi speculation, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

Practicality is going to be something that probably enters the minds of aliens as much

as it does us, especially in terms of building and engineering something efficiently.

There are smart, efficient ways of doing things, and ways that are not that you would employ

only if you had a reason to.

Building a Dyson sphere as rapidly as whatever is going on at this star would be so rapid

that it's probably not efficient or practical, though in fairness I must note that it's

possible that a civilization disassembling planets or asteroids to build a Dyson sphere

might kick up epic amounts of dust and mimic a light curve that looks like dust, we just

don't know yet and won't until someone comes up with a good natural model for the

system that fits what's observed across the board.

But say a civilization is constructing a Dyson sphere this rapidly.

What does that say to onlookers?

It could be a number of things, in fact one thing that's going around right now though

not well pinned down are seeming periodicities in the light-curves that some have suggested

could be artificial, though I think this is all a symptom of the star rotating and other

patterns that may not really be there.

Take that with a grain of salt.

But if patterns are present, and they are unnatural, they might be a method of communication.

But there is another possibility, a civilization might also be warning whatever else might

out there, call it civilization B, that they can fortify a solar system so rapidly that

they are not to be messed with.

This thinking also applies to Pryzybylski's star, see my video on that star on this channel.

It too is a candidate for the activities of an alien civilization due to transuranic elements

that may be present in the star that, as far as we know, don't appear in nature.

But, what does that say?

It can say "Here we are universe!" or it can say "We possess advanced nuclear

physics to the point that we can manufacture transuranics in massive quantities.

Stay Away."

Spooky alien behavior aside, there is one other development with KIC 8462852 that deserves

a mention.

Another YouTuber that covers this story, Frederic Parker, link to his channel in the description

below, has advanced an interesting theory in his videos.

There is some evidence that the long-term trend is accelerating.

Now, I would expect this from an expanding cloud of dust experiencing cascade collisions

creating exponentially increasing amounts of dust.

But the rate of that would be fairly predictable and Parker points out that there may be indications

that the dimming trend may exceed that rate in the not too distant future.

I'm taking a wait and see approach to that prediction, but if that happens, it's going

to be very difficult to explain and will put this star in very different territory.

So there you have it.

The star continues to behave bizarrely and speculation and hypotheses abound.

Stay tuned for the second, more general video on the subject of disappearing stars tomorrow.

And, as a last thought, what happens if KIC 8462852 disappears completely?

That too would put this story in very different territory.

That is most likely on the grounds that a considerable lot of the beneficiaries are

the Democrats most loved gathering, illegals.

The organization's monitor general that directed the review has likewise said that

unless arrangements are transformed, about $182 million every year will keep on being

paid out to those without legitimate ID.

This is no oversight, it's the outline.

Democrats have known the system is loaded with imperfections, yet done nothing to settle

the issues while in control.

That is on the grounds that it's advantageous for their gathering to take into account installments

- I remember as a kid, my dad had this big machine

called a rototiller.

And it was a pretty hefty one, and he built a cart

to take it around, and he would go and till people's

gardens as they were preparing to plant their seeds.

And I remember that rototiller when you lifted up

the flat and you saw all those hooks that went in there,

they were pretty severe.

And it was just amazing that after that rototiller

went through the ground, what came back was

just like powder, it was so beautiful.

But the ground had to be mixed up,

had to be torn up, had to be refined, in order to

receive the seeds.

So smooth soil, all right, that's what was created

and it needed to be torn up.

It needed to be ripped up in order to become the rich

soil to receive the grain.

And sometimes my dad, people who he had tilled the places

for, they would bring the fruits of their harvest,

some to my dad, they would share with him.

And I especially loved the tomatoes and green peppers,

they were just wonderful.

But see, in Jesus' time, there was a different method

of planting.

You see, the sower would scatter the seed first

and then he would till the ground to bring the seed

into the ground.

And sometimes when he would throw the seed around,

if it was a windy day, that seed would go to other places

on the path, on the rocky ground, or among the thorns.

And that's what we're hearing about in today's gospel,

how the seed when to different places.

But the good soil, the soil that was tilled, the soil

that was able to accept the seed, produced great fruit.

And the seed had to die to being a seed,

in order to produce something much better and nurturous.

And then the farmer, the farmer was so proud of the

harvest, then, that he would see come out of his efforts.

So today, we look at ourselves and our lives, knowing

that the seed is the word of God.

And how fertile is our soil to accept the word of God?

You know, are we, do we allow ourselves let the Lord

take over our lives, to till our soil, to make it

really pure to receive His word, so that His word

can have a great root in us?

And the way we'll know if the Lord's word has a root

in us, is by our fruits.

What comes out of our rich soil.

If we live lives of charity, if we live lives

of concern for others, if we love the Lord our God

with our whole heart, our whole soul and our entire being,

and our neighbor as ourself, then we know that our soil

has been tilled well, and that it's rich to receive

the word.

So for us then if we want to know how we're doing

in the spiritual life, if we're wanting to know if our soil

is good, if we've accepted the word of God,

it'll show forth in our lives.

It'll show forth in our charity, in our

love for one another.

Together we profess our faith using the apostle's creed.

- [Priest and Congregation Together] I believe in God,

the father almighty, creator of heaven and earth,

and in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of

the virgin, Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died and was buried.

He descended into Hell.

He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right

hand of God, the Father almighty.

From there, He will come to judge the living

and the dead.

All 16 MCU Movies Ranked From WORST to BEST (including Spider-Man: Homecoming) - Duration: 8:32.

hello everyone it is Jonavon and today I'm ranking all 16 movies that have been

released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far from worst to best to

clarify this list does include guardians of the galaxy vol 2 and spider-man

homecoming that have been released this year so there will be spoilers from those movies

give me your own ranking in the comments down below and let's get started at the

bottom is the Incredible Hulk this movie isn't bad it was just okay to me I don't

have any particular issues with the film itself but I wasn't excited at any

point during the story even when the whole fought the abomination in Harlem

honestly this film wasn't my cup of tea at number 15 is Iron Man 2 coming fresh of the

success of Iron Man I was expecting this movie to be better but it fell flat

in some areas there revenge storyline that was portrayed with the villain Ivan Vanko

could have had more emotion behind it and I wasn't buying Justin Hammer being

a real competitor of Tony Stark still this movie continued to build the Marvel

Cinematic Universe including the introduction of Black Widow at number 14

is Iron Man 3 this was the first marvel movie I saw in theater and it was an

enjoyable experience particularly I liked the part the movie were Tony teams

up with the 10 year old to find out more information about the Mandarin however

what put this film so low in the rankings is the fake Mandarin I know that it was

a comedic twist but it was a slap in the face for comic book fans just like Iron Man

2's villain the real mandarins quest for revenge wasn't touching at all at

number 13 is thor the dark world although this movie isn't loved by

Marvel fans I actually enjoyed it the culture of Asgard is explored more

in depth and the relationships Thor has with others evolved also Tom Hiddleston

once again amazed me with his performance as Loki although the main antagonist

Malekith was the standard MCU villain I appreciate that the aether turned out to

be an infinity stone since it's been almost four years since we've had Thor

movie I can't wait until Ragnarok comes out this November at number 12 was Thor

I didn't know what to expect from this movie because I had no knowledge who

Thor was but this movie turned me into a fan of his character and he is actually

my favorite Avenger now I have to commend Marvel for keeping the story simple

which helped make the movie presentable since thor isn't an earth-based

character what stood out to me everything else in this movie was the dynamic

between Loki and Thor and how they both have their own separate ways of trying

to please Odin and until the Avengers happen I had some sympathy for Loki after

he separated from his family at the movie's end at number eleven that Captain America

the First Avenger although I didn't think much of this movie after watching it for

the first time I have a greater appreciation for it because of the Winter

Soldier and civil war we're introduced to the cap and Bucky relationship and Red Skull

was a compelling villain Peggy Carter was also an interesting character and I like

that Howard Stark was included in the story as well even though this film

doesn't have the spectacle that usually comes with a Marvel movie it was still a

satisfying experience that introduced us to one of the MCU's best characters in Captain

America while also being the movie that directly leads into the Avengers at

number 10 is Guardians of the galaxy although Thor introduced us to places

outside of Earth guardians of the galaxy fully brought us to the cosmic side of the

MCU all of the guardians were intriguing and

I loved the comedy that was present throughout the film it ended up making

it one of the more entertaining movies in MCU and the way that Ronan was

defeated by Peter distracting him by dancing was a perfect representation of

the tone of the movie at number 9 is ant-man just like I mentioned my

discussion of Thor that didn't know who he was I was in the same scenario with ant

man I was concerned that this movie was going to be commercially successful

because he isn't a well-known character but I'm glad I was proven wrong although I

thought Darren cross was a lackluster yellow jacket I was able to overlook it

because of the comedy especially with Michael Pena's character because the

story focuses on Scott Lang trying to find a way to support his daughter ant

man ends up being one of the most relatable people in the MCU because he's

just a regular guy and after watching that mid credits scene with the wasp I'm

curious to see how the sequel will play out at number eight is Iron Man you may

be wondering why I'm putting this movie so low on the list considering that it launched

the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe I'm not diminishing its impact but as I

stated in my last ranking video this all comes down to personal preference other

than the fact this is movie slow paced at some points I don't have any other

complaints due to finally be able to see Iron Man fight on screen Robert Downey

Junior was a wise choice to play Iron man and the supporting cast behind him

complimented his acting abilities I like Iron Monger as a villain because

his motivation was kept simple and I have to commend Marvel for starting the

trend of post-credit scenes for its movies at number seven is guardians of

the galaxy volume 2 volume 2 took everything that the first film did right

and expanded upon it every Guardian had their moment to shine and we see growth

in each of them I enjoyed the father-son relationship between ego and star-lord

and the he reveal that Ego killed his mother brought seriousness

in a movie that was mainly comedic and speaking of the humor I was satisfied

with the taser face jokes and the banter between mantis and drax one person

who gained my respect in volume two is Yondu because of the sacrifice he

made at the end of the movie and I am thankful that this series teased Adam

warlock at number six is Doctor Strange just like guardians introduced us to

the cosmic side of the MCU Doctor Strange immerses us into the world of

magic the acting more than anything else stood

out to me strange's growth as a character was believable because of Cumberbatch

along the actors that played mordo and wong the visual effects and

cinematography in this movie were incredible and action wasn't

disappointing I wasn't a fan of Kaecilius as an antagonist but Mads

Mikkelsen did a serviceable job hopefully we'll see Dormammu again so the full

extent of his power is displayed on screen and I wonder how Mordo will be

as a villain in the sequel at number 5 is spider-man homecoming out of all the

spider-man movies this is the most faithful adaptation how he's presented

in the comics because Tom Holland looks like a teenager and he's a funny

spider-man I'm glad Iron Man didn't overshadows Spider-Man and we see him as a

mentor figure opposed to the other roles he's played in the MCU aside from the

team-up movies the action scenes had the most fluidity the vulture is one of the

best villains in them mcu because his motives were sympathetic he actually had

a code of honor and I could take him seriously I wasn't expecting the plot

twists that revealed vulture to be the dad of the girl Peter likes and you can feel how

tense it was in that car ride scene on the way to the homecoming dance

Although the final battle between Spider-Man and the Vulture wasn't grand, I

still enjoyed it for what it was but the post-credit scenes with Captain America

teaching us patience stands out above everything else at number 4 is the

Avengers for us fans of superheroes a movie like this is something we've

highly anticipated I overlooked the slow pacing during the first two acts of the

movie because the third act was awesome you can't deny how epic the scene was

Loki was a mastermind in this and he had one of the more elaborate plans that

I've seen of any MCU antagonist although he does lose some credibility after the

hulk smashes him around but the highlight of his movie is the reveal of

Thanos and setting up the quest for the Infinity stones at number three is

Avengers age of Ultron from beginning to end this movie was entertaining because

they focus on the main storyline thematically Ultron was a perfect fit

for this movie because the Avengers began to fracture in this movie over him

the introduction of Quicksilver Scarlet Witch and vision added diversity to Age of

Ultro but Hawkeye's character arc made me respect him more honestly I thought

he was going to die in this movie and the action scene in this film were far

superior to the ones in the Avengers at last Marvel showed us that the stakes

were high with the death of Quicksilver and they should continue to do so in

Infinity War at number two is Captain America the Winter Soldier this

didn't feel like a superhero movie to me but more like a political thriller as a

result this is the most suspenseful MCU film and it stands out amongst the

others on this list the action was nothing less than extraordinary

specifically the first fight on the road between Captain America and the Winter

Soldier also we see the maturation of the relationships cap has between Black

Widow Nick Fury and Sam Wilson because this film dealt with more mature subject

matter such as political espionage compared to the other movies while still

being entertaining it stands above all but one at number one is Captain America

Civil War although this movie has the task of continuing the storyline of the

Winter Soldier and dealing with the aftermath of age of Ultron it excelled in

doing this by keeping the plot simple seeing the ideological clash between

Iron Man and Captain America added emotional depth to this film as well as

seeing how far cap is willing to go for his friend when you look at this

movie in the grand scheme of the MCU Tony Stark and Steve Roger's character

arcs inform the choices they make in civil war the introduction of black

panther and spider-man complimented this movie but it's villain was something

special Zemo was a cold and calculating

individual and I actually felt some sympathy for him because his family died as

a consequence of the Avengers recklessnes in age of Ultron also his plan

actually worked due to this Zemo is easily the best villain in the MCU so

far along with making civil war the franchise's best movie yet thank you all
