Youtube daily report Jul 2 2017

- Good morning, hope you're having an amazing day.

It's Mark Wiens in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

And today I'm gonna take you on a local food tour

starting with breakfast.

And then we're gonna have a typical lunch

and then a popular typical Cambodian Khmer dinner.

It's gonna be a great day of eating

and I'm gonna show you the typical meals

in a single day in Phnom Penh.

(rhythmic funky music)

It's about 7 a.m. and I'm starting off this morning

with what is probably the most popular

and the most common of all Cambodian Khmer

street food breakfasts.

And you literally walk outside of your hotel

or wherever you're staying and you can smell

the aroma of the grills,

you can smell that fresh meat in the morning.

And what they do for this dish is that

she scoops you a plate of rice.

It's broken rice, specifically, it's broken rice.

And then she tops on a piece of pork.

And the pork is marinated in a combination of

palm sugar and coconut milk and some other seasonings.

There might be some soy sauce in there.

And so it's a very thin piece of pork

and so it cooks really well done and really

almost kind of crispy.

And you can see that caramelization

on the edges of the pork.

And then she puts that over your rice.

I had to get it with a fried egg as well.

And then this dish is served with a side of pickles

and then a side of soup.

This is a very common breakfast dish that you will find

in Cambodia.

Ooh.

Oh, it's good.

And the pork is indeed cooked very well

so it's a little bit dried out.

But then with that scoop of oil that she added on,

that rehydrates it and that ...

It's so fragrant, it's so smokey.

And I think I can taste a little bit of coconut in there.

I would have preferred my egg to be a little bit runnier

but that's okay.

We've still got a little bit of a transparent yolk in there.

And follow that with some soup.

Mmm.

Oh, that tastes like a fishy soup.

Oh, that just completes the full meal.

If there happens to be a little bit of chili

on this table ...

Oh, which, yes there is,

this would just complete the full meal deal.

Add a little bit of chili on the side here,

or how about right there in the center.

Oh, yes.

Again, the same procedure.

Egg, piece of pork, chili sauce

and some of those pickles.

Oh yes.

Fantastic.

Oh, what a breakfast.

And follow with soup.

Really really good in the morning.

That's a great way to start your day

when you're in Phnom Penh, Cambodia,

or anywhere in Cambodia.

And that's about as local and as popular

as you can possibly get.

And you can find it everywhere.

Literally, just take a walk outside

and you will find this dish.

(men speaking in foreign language)

- Okay.

(honking)

(laughs)

- We're just cutting off a giant truck

and going the opposite direction on the road.

And we're going not too far away.

We're going to the old market.

And there's a lot of things to eat for lunch there.

There should be a good place to grab some

local, typical, Khmer Cambodian lunch.

(rhythmic funky music)

Okay, arkoun.

We made it to this area.

This is close to Psar Chas, which is the old market.

But we're just gonna look for lunch around this area.

This is exactly what I was hoping for.

There is some amazing food at this market.

Lots and lots of different grilled river fish

and some local Khmer delicacies for lunch.

Hello, how are you?

Look at that selection of proteins, fried and grilled.

There's pickles, there's ...

Oh, I can see the prahok, which is the fermented fish paste.

All sorts of grilled fish.

At this market they have about ten different

lunch time stalls that all serve

a beautiful assortment of different food,

especially lots of different grilled river fish.

There's some fried fish as well.

There's some bubbly stews going on.

There's some beautiful steamed

different Cambodian Khmer dishes.

Some prahok, lots of things going on.

And then you have the big pot of rice over here.

This is truly a spectacular display of different foods.

There's so much going on.

This is where we're gonna have Khmer lunch today.

Wow, that is a selection of fish.

These maybe are Snakehead fish, which she curls up

onto a skewer and then they slow roast.

They just sit here on the grill all afternoon

and just kind of slow roast over the coals.

That looks like a fish I wanna eat for lunch.

Okay.

(woman speaks in foreign language)

Okay, thank you very much.

(Mark speaks in foreign language)

This is one of the meals where you break a sweat

before you even start eating.

I'm just dripping with sweat.

And actually, almost everybody just drives up

on their motorbikes and gets takeaway.

But we wanted to sit here and eat

and so the lady who actually ...

Her business is right in front of where

they're selling the food.

She kindly brought out a table, a little pop up table

for us to eat here.

Really really kind of her.

Thank you very much.

And this is some very local Khmer lunch food.

And this is a cool place.

The aunties cooking the food here are really friendly.

They were excited that we ordered all these foods.

My nose is detecting some definite fermented fish aromas

coming off of this table.

I'm gonna begin with this dish here.

And this is a type of prahok.

And it's a fermented ...

This one is one of the main fermented fish dishes.

It's a paste, I can see some lemongrass in there

and some herbs and some chilies.

And then this one they wrapped in a banana leaf

and grilled it.

Oh, wow.

That's pretty salty.

That's a great flavor, though.

It does have that fermented fish aroma to it.

It's really loaded with lemongrass.

A little bit of a smokey flavor from being roasted as well.

This seems to be one of the most popular

Khmer Cambodian dishes, a mixture of minced meat with egg.

And then kind of ...

I think this might either steamed or ...

I think steamed in this little bowl.

This is a nice little version of it.

It's almost like a little casserole.

I'll reach in with my spoon here.

Oh, the firmness of that.

Stick this onto my rice.

Very salty.

Has like a little bit of a fermented taste to it, too.

It almost sort of has that starchiness of yolk

in texture.

And then you can taste little bits of minced meat

in there as well.

This is one of the more daring looking dishes

that she's serving for lunch today.

And it's little fish in kind of a dark, murky sauce.

Oh, you can actually see,

you get in really close there,

you can actually see some lime pulp in there.

And I think that's shreds of ginger.

I have no idea if these fish are raw

or if they're cooked, or if they're just fermented.

Mmmm.

Oh.

Wow, okay.

It's not nearly as bizarre as I thought it was gonna be.

It kind of has a ...

Okay, it's a little bit fishy.

But it almost has that smokey, fishy kind of taste to it.

I was a little bit hesitant going in with that bite,

'cause I had no idea what it is

and it looks pretty hard core fermented.

But it's actually, the flavor is wonderful.

As I keep on chewing, I can almost taste some cheese

in there, too.

Next up to the big fish and you can oh ...

You lift that skin and it's just like buttery,

buttery flesh underneath.

You can tell that this has been on the grill for awhile.

Oh, it's still nice and hot,

but they do this grilling style where they grill the fish

and they just kinda leave the fish hanging out

on the edges of the fire.

So it just kinda slow roasts and keeps hot

and sort of smokes at the same time for who knows

how many hours.

The actual flesh of the meat, you can taste that

it's freshwater.

And it sort of has that rubberiness as you keep

on chewing between your teeth.

Oh, eat this sauce, with the fish?

Oh, okay, okay.

We just failed to order the sauce,

but luckily, in those little plastic bags,

this is the sauce.

This is the sauce.

Fish, and I'll put this onto my rice.

And then for this bite, let me go in for

some of this sauce.

If you get a really close up look at the sauce,

you can see that there's just crushed nuts in it.

But that does smell very nutty.

That makes all the difference.

That's sour and it's nutty

and it's like ...

You can taste lemony, maybe lemongrass in there.

And maybe some cilantro as well.

Oh yeah, that's what it needed.

That's exactly what it needed.

The yellow topped minced meat egg dish.

It's okay, but it's honestly not my favorite dish.

However, the prahok dish, grilled, roasted

in the banana leaf, that fermented fish dish.

That one is really a complexity of flavors that I love.

That's delicious.

And that fermented fish pickle looking dish

is quite a surprisingly delicious dish as well.

Oh yeah.

We got another fish and another one of these

banana leaf wraps.

They were pretty surprised and excited that we

wanted refills on these dishes.

They're good.

This is specifically the dish of the meal.

Oh, arkoun.

Oh yeah, we just got a handful of vegetables, too.

Just the whole cucumbers and winged beans.

We'll just go ahead and set that into the bag, I guess.

Oh yeah.

And she has some chilies, too.

I think I can just ...

I think it's kind of self-service back there,

that little piles of plastic bags back there.

You can kind of help yourself.

Oh, thank you, arkoun.

Arkoun.

I retrieved the final component of this meal.

'Kay, let me move in for some of this fresh banana wrap.

There's kaffir lime leaves down here, too,

giving it an extra citrusy aroma along with that lemongrass.

This is really a winner of a flavor.

Okay.

That's gonna light my mouth on fire in a few seconds.

I can already feel that chili just juicing.

Oh, the chili's pretty sweet.

That was one of those meals where it feels like

I took a bath after finishing eating.

That was a sweaty meal.

That was some really good food,

some very interesting dishes.

Some of the dishes were kind of surprising with flavor.

Some of the dishes were pretty intense.

The grilled fish, in particular, was really good

along with that pistachio nut sauce.

It wasn't really pistachio, but I don't know what it was,

but it was nutty and green.

And then, I have to say that

this prahok, that was one of the dishes of the meal.

That dish right there was a little bit intense,

but had some surprising flavor.

That's a little bit of an adventurous one.

But really, there's quite a wonderful selection

of food here.

These aunties are friendly

and this is a proper Cambodian Khmer street food lunch

in Cambodia, in Phnom Penh.

(rhythmic electronic music)

We're back in a tuk tuk again.

We're gonna head back home just to hang out

for a couple hours.

And then we'll re-emerge again for Khmer dinner tonight.

(rain pattering)

We spent most of the afternoon inside the house

and it's a good thing, too,

because it downpoured for a couple of hours.

And now, Phnom Penh is ...

Our street is flooded and I'm sure the streets

in the main part of the city are pretty flooded as well.

So we're hoping that the driver for this tuk tuk,

I think he lives right down there.

And he's coming to drive us.

We are in luck.

We got a tuk tuk, on our way to dinner now.

Whoa, whoa, we almost tipped ...

Whoa, that's pretty deep.

(laughter)

Oh, there's some pot holes in that flood.

'Kay, and we are on our way to go eat Khmer barbecue

for dinner.

And that rain ...

That rain really made a difference.

It's nice and cool now.

And that's actually why it was so blazing hot

when we were having lunch.

Hello, Phnom Penh afternoon traffic.

(rhythmic electronic music)

For dinner tonight, we're at a local Khmer

barbecue restaurant.

And they have some really unique and interesting

dishes on their menu.

I wanna first say a big thank you to

Lina Goldberg from Mukhta, Cambodia for this recommendation.

This is kind of a ...

Okay, it's very much a beer garden, but they also have

a huge menu full of food.

But this is a very popular meal to eat Khmer barbecue

for dinner and to come hang out with your friends.

They've just started playing some live music

so I hope you can hear me alright.

But a couple of the dishes have just arrived,

including this awesome dish that I can't wait to try.

It's fried goat with ant eggs.

So you could basically order this with whatever

type of meat you wanted.

So when I saw goat on the menu, I had to go for the goat.

There's goat chunks in here.

I think that's the skin.

These are kaffir lime leaves, but I also smell

a curry aroma to it, so I'm not sure if there's curry leaves

in here, too.

Oh, that is insane.

Oh, that goat meat is so tender.

And those ants have a little bit of a sour crunch to them.

The skin is kinda fatty and creamy,

well, fully fatty and creamy.

And then it has this amazing basily citrusy flavor to it.

Oh man, that's good.

The next dish over here are the fried riblets.

And these are deep fried ribs.

Oh yeah.

Oh, that's just deep fried crunchy rib goodness.

Fully crispified, so like ...

A little bit oily, it's salty,

you can taste the pepper on there.

There are a few more meat dishes that are on their way,

but we also ordered just a plate of random mixed vegetables.

Yeah.

Just their straight up stir fried ...

It kinda has a tangy, garlicky taste to it.

The ribs are amazing, but this fried goat

with red ant eggs is just the superior dish

of this meal so far.

That is insanely good.

That is really really quality ...

That's a dish to remember.

In English, it's known as Lok Lak sometimes,

or as shaken beef, but this is more of a saucy version

that I don't know if I've ever had before.

These are nuggets of beef.

They look like calf.

They look nice and medium rare.

There's an egg on the side, there's french fries.

This is a fantastic looking dish of beef.

Oh, that is so juicy.

Oh you can taste the blood of that rareness of that beef,

just kinda gushing with juice.

This is the type of restaurant where you just want

to sit here and you wanna be snacking on a dish

and then you wanna order another dish.

And you just kinda sit here, enjoy, hang out with friends,

and keep munching throughout the night.

We just ordered another dish.

This one is eel stir-fried with chili.

It's said on the menu.

And you can see these whole ...

Just the whole pieces of chopped up eel.

And what I love is there's just a pile of herbs on top

and that is so fragrant.

I gotta take a whole bit of herbs first

without even any eel.

I only know the Thai names for these herbs.

But that has a little bit of a licoricey taste to it.

Wow, that's an herbacious just explosion in your mouth.

Oh, that's buttery, wonderful eel.

And with those herbs, man, that's good.

That is probably the tastiest Khmer meal

that I've ever had.

That food was unbelievably delicious.

The flavors were just actually perfect.

The herb mixtures, you could taste the lemongrass,

you could taste the pepper.

They were salty and it is a beer garden type of restaurant,

but not only that, but also a really cool

Cambodian experience because they have a live band

and they're playing Khmer music.

And that's gonna complete this full day of

local Khmer food in Phnom Penh.

Breakfast was delicious,

lunch was an adventure and a very very local

street food meal,

and then dinner is just a classic Cambodian Khmer

barbecue feast with live music.

This was a fantastic day in Phnom Penh.

freekickerz training with the best goalkeeper (legend) ! - Duration: 6:14.

Hey Olli! Hey guys, how are you?

I've just been watching you during the freekicks and penalties.

And what I notice with many goalkeepers, is that they are very unsteady before the shot.

What can happen then, is that I may be caught on the wrong foot exactly when the opponent is shooting.

In order to get rid of that mechanism, I brought 2 exercises with me.

The first exercise is diving from kneeling on both legs.

Here you see the starting position. Then you step on your ball-furthest foot as fast as you can.

After that, you step on your other foot, ending with a maximum power jump towards the ball.

Diverting the ball at the end. Or, as I saw just before, catching the ball!

That would be the best practice!

Let's go!

Look down, and when you're ready. Look up at him!

Yeeees, there's the rhythm!

We'll they can't be too easy!

For that, I would've been angry at my coach...

-What are you doing, man?! -Yeah, why should I even stand up for that?

The lift-off is the essence here!

Wroong! Wrong steps. You got up with the wrong foot!

Nevertheless, very good!

Now the 2nd exercise, is a follow up to the first one we did.

We call it "low ball and diving". We can see here: The goalplayer has his eyes focused on the first ball.

He then buries the ball - and what can happen next, is that there will be a rebound. So now he quickly focuses on the second ball.

He then starts again with the first position and the dive after the second step with a maximum power jump. Always try to catch it and if that's not possible: divert!

Alright!

Stand still.

Always remember, technique before anything else!

The throwing came a little late. Great technique from the goalplayer!

Get up, come on and jump!

Yes! Very nice flow! Good!

And up, and jump! Yes!

Yes, great jump!

And maximum power!

You stood up super fast!

That one was mean, because he was already running forward...

Here you can see, how much you can actually get out of the exercise. Using a good technique to stand up quickly can be essential!

You can already move your body to the right when going down for the first ball. Try that out!

Did you notice? Even when going down, you can already position your body towards the right direction!

Just a secret advice!

Aaaah that was unfortunate. But great throw!

Come on now! Clean technique. Bury that ball under your body!

And up! Yes! Very good!

It doesn't matter if a ball goes in here. Focus on the jump!

Yes! Very good!

Clean technique! Bury...get up...and jump! Great!

Weird! Now we've suddenly got it!

Thanks Olli! Thanks to you as well!

It was a great day today! If you want to be coached online as well, check out Goalplay and find your exercise plan and equipment!

What's Up in Makeup NEWS! NARS Makes People MAD, Food as Makeup TESTED, Daddy Daughter Makeup Class! - Duration: 6:29.

From Niagra Falls, to Generation Beauty Toronto,

to Montreal…

I'm Jen from JenLuvsReviews and What's Up In Makeup is back and starting now!

Welcome to What's Up In Makeup for July 2, 2017...on this episode we are reviewing the

Top Industry News of the past week or so.

This week's major story -- Nars has decided to sell its products in China, meaning that

the popular brand is getting its share of controversy.

In 2013, the EU banned the sale of any cosmetics or ingredients that have been tested on animals.

In the U.S., animal testing is not illegal, but is left up to the company's discretion.

But in China, animal testing is the law.

Some users of the social media platform Weibo, in China, said they felt "more assured" of

quality after products were tested.

But it's more than assuring potential customers...

China is projected to become the largest market in the world for the cosmetics industry, with

an estimated $50 billion in domestic sales of beauty products in 2015 alone.

And that's a siren song that is difficult to ignore.

Currently, brands like L'Oreal, Benefit, Rimmel, Maybelline and Shiseido (which owns Nars)

are among the many cosmetic products sold in China.

Each is subject to the animal testing law.

Nars has issued a statement on their Instagram, saying, "We want you to know that we hear

you.

The global elimination of animal testing needs to happen" but that it had to "comply with

the local laws."

You can see that statement, and the reactions to it, on their Instagram account @narsissist.

And those reactions are resoundingly negative.

The company has been accused of caring "more about profits than animal welfare," and another

noted "This is called hypocrisy."

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

On YouTube, Ms Yeah is known mainly for unusual cooking videos, but one of her most recent

videos shows an interesting way to use food (and office paraphernalia) as makeup.

The video went viral and I know I saw it all over Facebook.

LIfehacker's Claire Lower also enjoyed the video, enough to try to recreate the effect.

She didn't have the exact same ingredients Ms Yeah did, but tried her best with flour

and cocoa powder for foundation, contouring with cocoa, coffee for eyebrows and a regular

pen for eyeliner.

For shadow, she used green skittle water with flour, and strawberries with ketchup for the

lips. Was she successful?

"Real Housewives of Potomac" Star, Gizelle Bryan

has officially launched EveryHue Beauty after two years of development.

The brand includes a tinted moisturizer (available in 12 different shades), a foundation brush

and blending sponge.

The formula includes vitamin C and E, aloe, and has SPF 25.

Bryant told PeopleStyle, "I, with my silly self, thought it would take six months [to

create].

There were some formulations that we came up with that were good but they weren't

great and I didn't want to come out with something that wasn't great that I didn't

believe in."

Watch for EveryHue items to roll out every three months.

Next up is a trio compact that includes a highlighter, a setting powder and a bronzer,

which will be available in two color hues.

Following that will be a matte lip with top gloss.

Glow Perfect Tinted Moisturizer, $36.

We've told you before about Beauty Pie, the membership-only makeup outlet that launched

last December.

With a mission statement of low-priced makeup, under the belief that "Most luxury skincare

has a price markup of 10 times the cost it takes to manufacture it", the brand has many

fans and members...including Bobbi Brown.

At the end of May, Beauty Pie unveiled skincare products in their online mix.

The skincare line now includes 11 products, with prices from $5.21 to $13.11, and range

from a cleanser to micro-peel drops, to an anti-aging cream and a Korean-style mask.

Future goals include a retinol range, a vitamin C range, and super hydrating products.

Even adding in the $10 monthly membership fee, this is definitely a bargain compared

to mainstream products.

Blushington is the place to go when you want to get a special makeup application, and you're

in California, New York or Texas.

With that in mind, what better idea could they have than to establish a Father's Day

celebration Makeup 101 class, to teach tweens and Dads makeup from the ground up?

Well now, it's a permanent part of the beauty lounge's menu.

It was such a hit for both girls and their pops who want to understand where the contour

goes.

"What really struck me out of our class was this was the child sharing her passion with

the parent," adds Blushington CEO Natasha Cornstein . "It's a complete role reversal....The

dads have been completely hands-on — we even had some of them testing Jouer lip prep

on themselves."

During the 90-minute group course, which costs $50 per father-daughter team, both work with

an expert to learn about which products to use and when, and they then take turns applying

the product with the proper tools.

The average participant is between the ages of 11 and 14...prime seekers of YouTube tutorials,

but Blushington is more about age-appropriate looks.

Makeup 101 courses are available at two locations in Southern California, in Manhattan and Dallas.

And last up for this week, I've got a bunch of little stories for you

kind of like a lightning round but not that fast 'cause I just couldn't spit this out

in a lightning round format. The first one I want to tell you about is

Unilever has severed ties with Sawit Sumbermas Sarana, a supplier of palm oil, because of

issues with their deforestation practices.

They are the latest company to cut ties with SSMS since 2015.

a team of scientists from the Estee Lauder companies recently presented data on the effects

of Pollen on skin, and what ingredients can lessen those effects

Olay is always looking for new ingredients that promote cell regeneration, and they are

currently investigating the properties of Carob as an ingredient

German cosmetics brand, BeYu, will launch 300 stores in India

L'Oréal's is in the process of pulling its Decléor brand from the US market, because

basically, no one knows what it is. I don't even know how to say it.

Sternocleidomastoid Manual Static Release (Soft Tissue Mobilization) - Duration: 13:50.

This is Brent of the Brookbush

Institute in this video we're bringing

you another manual technique now if

you're watching this video I'm assuming

you're watching it for educational

purposes and that you are a licensed

manual therapists following the laws

regarding scope of practice in your

state or region that means athletic

trainers chiropractors physical

therapists osteopath licensed massage

therapists you are likely in the clear

to do these techniques personal trainers

this probably does not fall within your

scope of practice although you might be

able to use the palpation portion of

this video to aid in learning your

functional anatomy in an educational

setting supervised by a licensed manual

therapists now before we place our hands

on a patient or client it is important

that we assess and have a good rationale

for doing so and of course if we're

going to assess then we should be

reassessing to ensure that the manual

technique we're using is effective and

we have a good rationale for continuing

to use that technique in this video

we're going to do static manual release

of the sternocleidomastoid i'm going to

have my friend Melissa come out she's

going to help me demonstrate we're going

to use the same four step process we've

been using for all of our manual release

techniques we're going to talk about how

to differentiate this structure from the

other structures around it and it's

actually fairly simple I think this is a

structure that most of you would be very

visually familiar with if i just take

Melissa's head and turn it away you can

see this line right here is her

sternocleidomastoid there's actually two

heads which if I follow just behind this

head I can feel the other one going into

the clavicle this head that you can see

goes right into the sternocostal joint

right so second step is do we have

any structures around the

sternocleidomastoid that could be

offended and insulted or injured by

compression and the answer to that one

is yeah we definitely do in this

case so a lot of people are really

scared of this technique and it's

because of things like the carotid

artery is right behind the

sternocleidomastoid there's a lot of

nerves obviously in the neck and since

we're on the front of the neck we have

things like your trachea that like

people don't really like getting pressed

on so we're probably not going to use

anterior

to posterior pressure to release the

sternocleidomastoid but there is an

answer there is a different way to

release this so let's skip to step

number three where are the common

trigger points well it ends up the

common trigger points are kind of

throughout the sternocleidomastoid

ranging all the way from the mastoid

process up here right so I can go just

inferior the mastoid process and I can

start feeling some increase in tissue

density all the way down and depending

on who you're working with and what

dysfunction they have and and what history

they have you'll find varied trigger

points throughout so it's going to be

important to kind of search the entire

muscle rather than finding a trigger

point landing on the first trigger point

or increased tissue density nodule that

you feel and calling it a day like you

need to make sure you search the whole

thing and then of course step number

four is how do i get myself and my

patient comfortable so that i can hold

the technique long enough and my patient

can relax since we're talking about the

sternocleidomastoid you can

probably guess that sitting up is not a

great idea the only way I'm going to get

the sternocleidomastoid to relax is with

her head supported and I haven't

even had that much luck with that

forehead headlock position that we've

done another technique I've tried

because I have somebody in sitting and

I'm trying to do a bunch of techniques

all in a row it just never really seems

to work out my suggestion is going to be

to put them in supine so go ahead and lay

down

move table up here a little bit now once

she lays down her sternocleidomastoid is

going to relax which is a good thing now

we just have to solve the problem of I

can't put an anterior to posterior

force of this muscle right that would

look a little something like this that's

probably going to get me fired I don't

know about you guys but I'd like to keep

doing what I'm doing so let's not use

anterior to posterior force now Travell

and Simons subscribes a very simple way

around this which is a pincer grip now a

pincer grip is just taking your your 2nd

finger here your index finger and

curling up like this and then having

your thumb and kind of pinching it in

between and if you have the other hand

to kind of put behind the occiput and

you kind of mess with contralateral

rotation here and put her in a little

flexion for sternocleidomastoid becomes

really laxed I can start up at the

mastoid process where I might be able to

use a little bit more of like a lateral

medial pressure with my fingertips but

then as I can get a hold of the whole

muscle I'm just going to put the muscle

inside of that pincer grip and I'm going

to kind of search the tissue by

strumming I'm kind of strumming this

way so i need to go from like since this muscle

is long this way i would strum the

muscle medial to lateral right and i'm

just kind of taking segments down at a

time and my little pincer grip these

little short strokes looking for

anything that seems to have an increase

in tissue density or something that

feels like a nodule now notice guys

I'm not pushing down far into her neck I

started by palpating the muscle up here

really finding it really knowing what

i'm going for which i just fell off

inferior and slightly anterior to the

mastoid process here and then I went

into my pincer grip this way and I know

some of you guys are thinking oh man

he's going to kill her he's just going to

pinch off her carotid artery and game

over well it's not

that easy to have somebody pass out like

that she would probably had some

symptoms first like nystagmus or

lightheadedness or her speech would

start to slur or something weird and

more than that as long as I'm not going

in like and pinching down like real hard

real fast if I'm being gentle with these

tissues and I'm just slowly increasing

my pressure I'll feel a pulse from her

carotid artery before I cut off

circulation if it pulses I have the

chance to move and chances are if you

could do this technique and you're

working on this technique you will feel

a pulse at some point of time and you

will have to move over a little bit and

that's okay no damage done I can

actually feel her pulse against my thumb

thumb on this side like right at the tip

of my finger which means i'm not

actually squeezing squeezing her carotid

artery i'm actually squeezing her SCM

more at my second knuckle on the and

my IP of my thumb so i know where her

carotid artery is I found my densest

fascicles here I'm finding a little bit

of a nodule of increased density right

here about a centimeter two centimeters

below her mastoid process there and

I'm just going to hold it until it

releases that's it how bad is this not

bad at all it's a little less

comfortable if somebody has a trigger

point down here be warned but like I

said if you start up here at the mastoid

process you fall off you get a good idea

of where that muscle is and you slowly

take out little parts, not take out

but slowly strum little sections of that

muscle with your thumb and be careful

when you feel a pulse I think you guys

will find this technique is not that

uncomfortable

if you want you can even add a little

stretch to the tissue by going back into

contralateral flexion or back into

ipsilateral lateral rotation

this muscle guys is definitely very

related to arthrokinematic

inhibition and you will see an increase

in tonicity if somebody's sternal

clavicular joint it is really locked up

or really hypermobile so be aware of

that as you get down here it's always

worth kind of checking on the how

stiff that joint is kind of in

conjunction with this technique stay

tuned for the course of recap all right

so here we go with our close-up recap of

the sternocleidomastoid static manual

release i'll show you guys a real easy way to

find the sternocleidomastoid if I

contralaterally rotate Melissa's head

here and then have her try to lift her

head off the table you can see that

sternocleidomastoid just pops right

out and then I can place my pincer grip

right over the top of her

sternocleidomastoid at her mastoid

process tilt her head back and now

we're in a nice relaxed position I'll

keep her in a little contralateral

rotation just to keep some slack off

this muscle and then I'm just going to

do my little medial to lateral strokes I

am looking for those densest fascicles

and then once I find an area of

increased activity I can move a little bit

proximal or a little superior and

inferior keep in mind you want to you

want to be pretty close to where you

think that nodule is before you start

just kind of rubbing up and down the

muscle because you don't want to take a

bunch of skin with you that's going to

be really uncomfortable if I go right

here and then I just moved a little superior

there and I found a little point of

hyperactivity and I'm just going to keep

my pincer grip right where it is until I

feel a release note I am not laying my hand

on top of Melissa's neck there's no weight

from anterior to posterior on her

neck that would make her feel like she's

being choked or like I'm putting

pressure on her trachea I can feel the

pulse of her carotid artery a little bit

on just medial to my thumb

and so for the most part the carotid

artery is medial to the

sternocleidomastoid that doesn't mean

I'm compressing the carotid artery it

doesn't mean that she's going to pass

out it doesn't mean I'm doing any damage

like I said I can just kind of feel the

pulse which is probably a good sign that

i shouldn't press any further

medialy I shouldn't press any

further anterior to posterior but I'm

okay and I can just check the rest of

the muscle here you're

sternocleidomastoid does get trigger

points throughout its entire length it's

a little hard to identify where the most

common point would be I do find that

near the mastoid process some trigger

points often get hidden and they are a

little easier to get to up here you

have less chance of compressing the

carotid artery and the muscles a little

easier to grab up here so that helps if

I wanted to I could add a little bit of

tension by going back into

ipsilateral rotation the contralateral

flexion just like so I thought that

would help pinned down tissues or add

enough tension to to maybe stimulate a

stretch an autogenic inhibition so

there you have it knowing your

functional Anatomy will definitely help

your manual technique it'll help you

differentiate structures so that you can

place your hands where they need to be

as well as make you aware of these

sensitive structures around the tissue

that you're trying to target things like

nerves and lymph nodes and arteries make

sure that if you're going to place your

hands on a patient that you have done an

assessment and have a good rationale for

placing your hands on that patient and

if you're going to assess make sure you

reassess to ensure that your technique

was effective and you have a good

rationale for using that technique again

now with manual therapy one-on-one live

education is incredibly important please

be looking for opportunities like

workshops and mentorships and maybe even

classes at your local university that

can get you some one on one individual

instruction or at least some live

classroom instruction so you've had a

chance to be critiqued and mentored by

somebody senior to you with some

experience in manual

therapy techniques and before you bring

this stuff back to your rehab fitness or

performance setting please practice on

colleagues there is no substitute for

practice and it is going to take a while

to get accustomed to some of the

techniques that we show in these manual

technique videos don't expect to learn

them in two or three or even five

minutes you want to have hours of

experience under your belt working on

various different body sizes and shapes

so that when you do get that first

paying client first paying customer and

you're really trying to make a good

positive impact really trying to promote

better outcomes you feel comfortable

with that technique I look forward to

hearing about your outcomes and hearing

your questions in the comments section

of this video I'll talk with you soon

With a nightliner from Groningen NL to Maulbronn DE and back - Rapalje Show 16 - Duration: 9:53.

Hello, and welcome again to another

Rapalje Show episode

And we have some new topics in this video like an interview with Sean Cannon

from the Dubliners

And I show you how we managed to perform at a concert in the south of Germany

when we were organizing the Zomerfolk festival in the north of the Netherlands

Well, I like to introduce you to a band that's playing

Al the way where we came from we don't wanna know

I play with pints of lager and whiskey, scotch and all that stuff

I'm just rocking down the way, Go back to Donegal

'Cause! Home is where my friends are and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song. Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

I sing: Home is where my friends are and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song. Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Hello. I'm a Maceál from Rapalje and in this video

We show you much more than in the past videos

because we have so much to talk about, so much to show

I'm shooting lot of videos lately

and we have so much material

We really would like to show you

Like the video with Sean Cannon

I'm wearing a t-shirt from The Dublin Legends right now. You also know them as The Dubliners

and in the end of this video

I've got the start of an interview with Sean Cannon

We organized the fifth Rapalje Zomerfolk Festival

Or better said: David Myles did

This is how to terrain looked a couple of days before this festival

I'm now at the center of Groninger Stonehenge

and it's how, eh..

The area looks right now, the festival, and eh..

building up on the Wednesday.

I'll show you around ,here we go

Still preparing

It's the Groninger Stonehenge

And there you go. Also testing my camera

Because we already booked a concert

one and a half year before our festival

And we didn't knew the date of our festival

when we have booked for a concert. We always perform at this concert

There's no way that we try to get around it

or to cancel it or to schedule it on another date

So this festival is already booked

and then this same weekend

we organized our own Zomerfolk festival

So we found a way

To get there in south of Germany

and also attend at our own festival in time

in the north of The Netherlands again

So Pieter en Jeroen prepared

the nightliner from Koos

one day before we traveled to this other festival

We drove off in the middle of the night

But first we had to pick up William

at the highway at the beginning of our journey

I love you true Alida but I think I'm gonna leave you

I don't want to sit at this place watching years go by

We're sitting with your fatty on your ugly satty

You're watching soaps and do fck it all down in Donegal

When the barman rings the bell

And announces to everybody:

Ain't you got no homes to go?

Well I sing: "I ain't got no home in this world anymore

I'm just passing through"

The next morning

at a very short night of sleep for me

We already arrived at Maulbronn

And we will perform at the Klosterfest

and while William and Dieb were still sleeping

we found a spot for our breakfast

In the town of Maulbronn

so we prepare the stage

We did a soundcheck and the rest of the day

we had to find some ways to entertain ourselves

You are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Home is where my friends are

You are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

I sing: Home is where my friends are

and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me now?

Well, I'd like to introduce you to the band that's playing

All the way where we came from, you don't want to know

I play with pints of lager and whiskey, scotch and all that stuff

I'm just rocking down the way. Go back to Donegal

'Cause! Home is where my friends are And you are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Home is where my friends are You are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Play six and reels and jigs at one time

And I'm just gonna walk that line

I don't care what you think

I keep just rolling on

I went on through St. Prady's

where I saw a lot of ladies

But none of them is as beautiful as down in Donegal

'Cause! Home is where my friends are

and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Say! Home is where my friends are

and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

I love ladies, And I can't get enough

And I dance with them 'till my legs fall of

On the dancefloor where I'm King

I'm just moving on

I'm drinking 'till I fall down

Me arms and legs are scattered around

In the bar of Rotterdam, once I dreamed of Donegal

'Cause! Home is where my friends are and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Home is where my friends are You are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

And after this day in the beautiful medieval town of Maulbronn in Germany

We started our show in the night,

and we had a great concert from over one and a half hours

I love you true Alida but I think I'm gonna leave you

I don't want to sit at this place

after a short night of almost no sleep

I waked up in the beautiful Stadspark from Groningen

Where the preparations for the Zomerfolk festival

are ready and where we perform

three times that day

So first let's find a cup of coffee

Well I see I ain't got no home in this world anymore

I'm just passing through

Home is where my friends are

In the next Rapalje Shows we'll show you some more videos

from our Rapalje Zomerfolk festivals

and also some interviews with artists

Who performed at our festival

and please tell me in the comments

If you like these longer videos

and what would you like to see

when we are touring

or performing at a festival or another concert

If you want to be sure to see these new videos every week

please subscribe to our YouTube channel and hit the notification bell

and we keep you updated

And now you will see the start of an interview

with Sean Cannon from The Dublin Legends

Formerly known as The Dubliners

South-East governors, Ohaneze kick against Biafra, ask government to restructure Nigeria - Duration: 4:04.

South-East governors, Ohaneze kick against Biafra, ask government to restructure Nigeria

- South East leaders have shown their support for Nigeria to remain as one. - The leaders call the Nigeria government to however restructure the nations governance.

- The leaders further called for the implementation of the 2014 National Conference recommendations. South East leaders came together on Saturday, July 1 to announced their support for Nigeria to remain as one while calling for the country to be restructured.

The leaders met at Nike Lake Resort Enugu on Saturday night to deliberate on the agitation for secession coming from some part of the region.

In attendance at the meeting was governors from the region, National Assembly members from the zone, Ohaneze Ndigbo and selected Igbo leaders of thought. The meeting was convened by the governor of Eboyi state, David Umahi, and the leadership of Ohaneze.

The communique reads: "Ndigbo are in support of a united Nigeria where peace, love, fairness, justice, equity and equality of opportunity are paramount regardless of creed, ethnicity, gender, or political affiliation".

"Igbo leaders lend their full support to the restructuring of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the basis of fairness and equity.

We therefore call on the Federal Government and all Nigerian leaders to commence a process of dialogue among Nigerians on the modalities of achieving this pressing question within a reasonable frame time.

"Ndigbo support the report of the National Conference of 2014 and urge the Federal Government to set up structures that will enable the implementation of same within a reasonable time.

While condemning hate speeches from any part of country, the Igbo leaders said henceforth only the governors, the South-east National Assembly caucus and the Ohaneze can speak for the zone on any political matters.

The statement on who speaks for the Igbos appears a response to the increasing popularity of the indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, ‎and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

In their statement after the late night Saturday meeting, however, the south-east le‎aders said they "condemn all the hate speeches and constructs emanating from any segment of Nigeria.

‎"The South East governors, members of the National Assembly from the South East and leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo should henceforth constitute the official organs that will speak on behalf of Ndigbo on political matters.

"The South East leaders in consultation with leaders from all parts of the country will engage the federal government on all areas of concerns to Ndigbo as a whole.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the South East Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya has vowed that the Igbos would not leave the northern part of the country due to the threats by some northern youth groups asking them to vacate the north.

Speaking at his palace on Friday, June 30, the revered monarch insisted that every Nigerian is free to live and do legitimate business in any part of the country he wishes.

He made the comments at two different events while receiving a delegation of the Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC), Imo state branch and the Association for Media Communication Development.

The Significance of the Resurrection (Clip 1) // Bayless Conley - Duration: 2:57.

Get ready to discover answers in the Bible

with Bayless Conley

If Jesus was not raised from the dead, then Christianity is just another religion without

the power to change a person's heart.

If Jesus was not raised, then we can't trust anything He said because on numerous occasions

He declared that He would be raised from the dead.

And if He lied about that, everything else He said immediately becomes suspect, as well.

If He was not raised, then the Bible is just an ordinary book.

It's got a lot of history, some poetry, some superstition, some tall tales, but it's

strictly of human origin.

On the other hand, though, if He indeed was raised from the dead, then we which have believed,

we're not wasting our time.

Our faith is not useless.

Preaching is not useless.

In fact, it is the means by which God has chosen to bring the good news of His salvation

to a dying world.

If He was raised from the dead, then believers that have died, trusting Him, are with Him

now very much alive in heaven, a very real place, experiencing inexpressible joy and

glory and satisfaction.

If He was raised from the dead,

then Jesus is the Son of God and not just an ordinary man.

If He was raised up, then Christianity is not some manmade religion, but a body of God

indwelt people.

If He was resurrected as He said,

then we can trust everything He said with our very lives.

If He's alive, friend, then this Book, the Bible, it's more than a smattering of history,

poetry, superstition, and some tall tales.

It is indeed the Word of God.

Let's read the final verse, verse 20.

We ended in verse 19 of First Corinthians 15.

Verse 20 says this: "But the fact is that Christ has been raised from the dead.

He has become the first of a great harvest of those who will be raised to life again."

My friend, Jesus is alive.

And the fact that He was raised from the dead, listen: It is supreme proof.

It is a demonstration that everything that He came to accomplish has been accomplished.

The Vampire Batman! - Duration: 3:38.

I have heard fans discussing whether Batman could ever turn into a vampire.

I know it's a twisted thought but I just thought of exploring this matter myself in

details.

I wasn't surprised at all when I came to know that Batman did turn into a vampire as

everything is possible in DC comics .This article is actually written to help those

fans that are clueless about when and how this story did publish in DC comics.

In 1982 "The 'I' of the beholder" comics #511-515 was published in America.

In this issue the story revolved around the Golden age vampire called Monk, who in ally

with his sister vampire Dala puts up a plan.

Monk was a plantation owner after the civil war in New Orleans.

He and Dala were attacked by some vindictive slaves who were the followers of the voodoo

rituals.

These slaves transformed them into vampires.

So Dala shows up in the comics #511 to execute this plan where she starts romancing Dick

Grayson.

During this time Batman is turned into a vampire by Monk and later he is cured by a serum by

Father Green.

Father Green was chasing Monk and Dala for a long time.

He captures them at the end and departs to his destination with his captives.

This one is probably the first comic written on this subject.

Later a group of American comics known as "The Batman and Dracula Trilogy" was published

comprising of three comic stories - Batman and Dracula: Red Rain, Batman: Bloodstream

and Batman: Crimson mist.

The Batman- Red Rain : In this comic frequent murders took place

in the Gotham city.

The victims were mostly homeless people of the city so Batman starts to investigate these

serials murders when he discovers that all of them were killed by crushing their throats.

He also finds out that the criminals were vampires belonging to the same family.

During this time a former vampire named Tanya joins with Batman to save the Gotham city.

In order to conquer the rogues Batman transforms himself into a vampire to acquire all their

strengths but retains his humanity.

Batman-Bloodstrom: This one is the sequel to Red Rain.

Here Joker leads a group of vampire convincing them to follow him.

This time Batman in ally with Cat woman, Alfred, Commissioner Gordon in cooperation with vampire

hunters made up of Gotham PD detectives destroy the vampires.

Cat woman gets killed in the final battle of warehouse.

She was the only person who could help Batman to control his blood thirst.

Being furious by this loss Batman evacuates Joker of his blood and puts him on fire so

that he can never return.

Now that batman has turned into a vampire Alfred and Gordon puts him on stake to prevent

further life loss in the city.

Batman- Crimson mist: At this point of time there was a sudden surge

in crimes committed by the old enemies of Gotham.

So Alfred and Commissioner Gordan decide to reinstate Batman from his stake to save Gotham

and its people.

When Batman comes out of the stake he gets furious to find his body in a degrading state

and goes insane due to his thirst of blood.

He goes on evacuating all his enemies - Penguin, Riddler, Poison ivy, and Black mask from their

blood and kills them.

At the end Batman walks into the sunlight by himself to find peace in death.

So, this really happened.

Support restructuring now - Afenifere, Ohanaeze tell northern leaders - Duration: 4:45.

Support restructuring now - Afenifere, Ohanaeze tell northern leaders

- The Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere faults some northern leaders for being opposed to restructuring. - The national publicity secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, says those opposed to restructuring are against it for their selfish interest.

- Ohanaeze Ndigbo insists Nigeria must be restructured. The Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has told some northern leaders opposed to the idea of restructuring to change their position to save Nigeria from becoming a failed state.

Afenifere's stand on the issue is also reportedly backed by Ohanaeze Nidigbo, the dominant Igbo socio-political group which has maintained that Nigeria must be restructured, Vanguard reports.

The national publicity secretary of Afenifere, Mr Yinka Odumakin, on Sunday, July 2, faulted some northern leaders for being opposed to restructuring.

The group's spokesperson said those opposed to restructuring were against it for their selfish interest. Odumakin said they cannot see the larger picture and do not care about the future of this country.

He advised northern leaders still opposed to restructuring to emulate former military president, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, and ex-vice president, Atiku Abubakar, who have expressed support for restructuring.

"We welcome their intervention, IBB, especially. We remember Babangida was opposed to restructuring in 1999 when we held a national conference with the late Mr Alao Aka-Bashorun,we were flogged out of the place.

For him now to come to reality to say we have to restructure, and to have spoken those words, and to break it down the way he has done, shows that he has realized the mistakes of those years and that it is the right thing to do.

We welcome him, he is a critical voice and he has added value to it," Odumakin said.

"For Atiku Abubakar, he has been consistent on restructuring over the years, right from when he was in office. We have noted his intervention for over ten years.

He has added value to the debate, he has removed the notion that not everybody in the North is against restructuring. "So, the two of them have added value to the debate.

They have shown clearly that those of us, who have been talking about restructuring, know what we are saying and they have confirmed our position that it is the right thing to do..

Odumakin called on northerners who are indifferent to the idea of restructuring to toll the line of voices from the north who are speaking loudly for restructuring now.

The Afenifere's spokesperson warned that Nigeria was gradually becoming a failed state and that the country needed to be restructured to bring about inclusiveness to governance. Similarly, the Ohanaeze Nidigbo has insisted the Nigeria needs to be restructured.

"Ohanaeze Ndigbo is in support of what other Nigerians are saying. We cannot be different.

Ohanaeze is thinking along the same line; that Nigeria must be restructured. We are on the same page with them, a source close to the group told Vanguard.

Meanwhile, south east leaders came together on Saturday, July 1 to announced their support for Nigeria to remain as one while calling for the country to be restructured.

Harry receives Queen blessing for engagement with Meghan Markle; Kate jealous of 'Suits' actress? - Duration: 2:21.

Prince Harry receives Queen Elizabeth's blessing for engagement with Meghan Markle; Kate Middleton

jealous of Suits actress?

Queen Elizabeth has given her blessing to Prince Harry in case he wants to marry Meghan

Markle.

It has been reported that the Queen is so keen when it comes to Prince Harry's happiness

after she witnessed several cases of heartaches in the royal family.

Since the Queen seems to like Markle because of her involvement in the humanitarian works,

rumors are claiming that she is more favored than Kate Middleton.

It can be recalled that Kate has been reported that she is so lax when it comes to her royal

duties.

As per report by HNGN, Prince William and Kate Middleton's marriage is on trouble and

the announcement of the divorce will be made next year.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Queen Elizabeth is already changing her mind when

it comes to royal relationships and marriages concerning any member of the royal family.

This all started when KING Edward VIII gave up the throne in 1963 to marry a divorced

American.

And then Princess Margaret desired to marry Peter Townsend another divorced man.

But Her Majesty refused for giving Princess Margaret approval to marry Captain Townsend

and this simply left Princess Margaret devastated and she developed a lifelong estrangement

with the Queen.

Then the royal family was exposed to the media once again with Prince Charles and his relationship

with Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer instead but his relationship with Camilla

did not stop until the couple got divorced.

Then 80 years following Queen Elizabeth's uncle abdication, Prince Harry fell in love

with Meghan Markle, a divorced American actress.

The Queen was shocked when Harry revealed his relationships with Markle on public.

And reports are rife that when Harry decides to marry the actress, Queen Elizabeth will

give her blessing.

Meanwhile, Kate Middleton is said to be jealous of Prince Harry's girlfriend Meghan Markle

for two reasons.

The first is that the spotlight might be stolen from her and the other one is that Markle

seems to be so much involved in humanitarian works.

Episode 44 - The Fire Cruiser - Duration: 7:51.

Hi I'm Mike and this is Our Wyoming Life

Haying continues and for the first time in our almost 10 years here on the ranch I decided to keep

track of my hours for the last week.

With the tally completed, Over the last 7 days I have averaged 14 hours per day for

a total of 98 hours.

Needless to say, I now remember why I have never kept track of my hours before and I

never will again.

So with 98 hours under my belt I decided to take a break from haying today, we still have

about 200 acres to cut and we will get back to it soon.

With all the concentration on haying its easy to forget that there is still a ranch to run

and what may have been a day off quickly turned to a full day of work.

Starting with this little lady.

I found her last night, laying in the pasture.

Dehydrated and weak, could barely stand and I scooped her up and brought her back to the

barn and I'm in the process of nursing her back to health.

Shes definately dehydrated and weak with a terrible case of diahrea, so she has gotten

a bunch of medicine to this point including scour pills, electrolytes, and penicillin.

Hopefully she will start to feel better soon.

So with haying going on and everything else I was actually at a loss for material to feature

in a video this week but then Erin reminded me that the fourth of july is coming up and

our annual 3rd of july party is just around the corner and we needed to start getting

ready for that.

So todays video is not about this little one, even though she is important and we will check

back in with her from time to time, todays video is about the fire truck.

This is a 1955 Howe Fire Cruiser, we purchased it back in 2012.

Up until that time it had been in use in a small town in montana called Ophiem.

It was actually in use up until that time and the finally retired the old girl from

their fleet.

We went and picked her up and brought her home where she got new tires and some replumbing

that bypassed her old pump system with a modern water pump that actually sits in the back

and takes care of spraying the water.

Some may ask why we have a firetruck on the ranch, but being out of town, if we do have

a grass fire it can take the local fire department quite a while to get out here so this is our

first line of defense.

I had a friend of mine from montana, who is a fire chief, come down and give us a lesson

on how to used the truck and how to be most effective in combating any fire we may have.

Also the truck makes a good water truck and if we have a stock well go down, a well that

gets water to the cows, we can also use it to refill and stock tanks we may need to.

So it serves a dual purpose.

The reason we are getting her out now is not only because we are coming into fire season

but also because of the 3rd of july party that I mentioned earlier.

We invite a few friends out on the night of the 3rd and bbq and blow some crap up.

We do it on the third because on the fourth we take the kids to the parade and tend to

end up at the fireworks in town so its a good compromise.

So during our party and the festivities the fire truck will be standing guard, ready if

any stray embers get away.

But before we get that far we need to get her out and ready.

Shes spent the winter in an old shed where the peacock likes to roost so first we get

her to the shop and give her a good spraying off.

Then I head back and check the calf again, looking good, just relaxing but alert which

is a good sign.

Also, I noticed last year that the flashing light on top isnt working so we will try to

fix that.

A small belt that rotates the light has broke and what good is a fire truck without lights,

it should be an easy fix using a rubber band to replace the belt.

Ok, that didnt work.

But luckily I live in a house full of girls, so a hair tie might just do the trick.

And there we go, working lights.

Its officially a fire truck.

Now all we have to do is put the pump in, using the trac.tor to lift it up and into

the back and hook it up via hoses to the tank.

We add little fuel and 500 gallons of water , which while its filling gives us another

chance to go and check our sick calf who even though is tired still seems to be doing pretty

good and so are we, water is full and the fire truck is good to go.

Ready to combat any dumbassery that might occur while we light off fireworks on the

third.

The kids love the fire truck and grace even helps add flags to the back, making it a true

4th of july ride.

The fire truck is ready to go and I just had an idea and you can tell me if you think its

a good or a bad one.

I was debating live streaming some of our fireworks and bbq on the third.

Not sure if anyone would be interested in seeing any of it but if you are let us know

in the comments, as long as I dont have too many beers I'll probably remember to do it.

Thats it for this week, I'll keep you updated on the status of the calf in the barn, Sunshine

and if any wants to hang out with us on the night of the third, I'll see then.

Please like, subscibe and comment as always and have a safe and happy fourth of july.

I think the fourth is one of the best holidays we celebrate here on the ranch, its a great

time to get together, without all the work of branding or preg checking or sorting calves.

We get to sit around, have some great conversation, maybe even break out a guitar or two and celebrate

living in this great country.

Speaking of great country, we love Wyoming and wouldnt live anywhere else and we really

want to thank you for joining us, in our wyoming life.

And Huda Kattan has been named to TIME's list

1 Day CAMBODIAN STREET FOOD TOUR - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner in Phnom Penh, Cambodia! - Duration: 18:57.

-------------------------------------------

With a nightliner from Groningen NL to Maulbronn DE and back - Rapalje Show 16 - Duration: 9:53.

Hello, and welcome again to another

Rapalje Show episode

And we have some new topics in this video like an interview with Sean Cannon

from the Dubliners

And I show you how we managed to perform at a concert in the south of Germany

when we were organizing the Zomerfolk festival in the north of the Netherlands

Well, I like to introduce you to a band that's playing

Al the way where we came from we don't wanna know

I play with pints of lager and whiskey, scotch and all that stuff

I'm just rocking down the way, Go back to Donegal

'Cause! Home is where my friends are and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song. Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

I sing: Home is where my friends are and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song. Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Hello. I'm a Maceál from Rapalje and in this video

We show you much more than in the past videos

because we have so much to talk about, so much to show

I'm shooting lot of videos lately

and we have so much material

We really would like to show you

Like the video with Sean Cannon

I'm wearing a t-shirt from The Dublin Legends right now. You also know them as The Dubliners

and in the end of this video

I've got the start of an interview with Sean Cannon

We organized the fifth Rapalje Zomerfolk Festival

Or better said: David Myles did

This is how to terrain looked a couple of days before this festival

I'm now at the center of Groninger Stonehenge

and it's how, eh..

The area looks right now, the festival, and eh..

building up on the Wednesday.

I'll show you around ,here we go

Still preparing

It's the Groninger Stonehenge

And there you go. Also testing my camera

Because we already booked a concert

one and a half year before our festival

And we didn't knew the date of our festival

when we have booked for a concert. We always perform at this concert

There's no way that we try to get around it

or to cancel it or to schedule it on another date

So this festival is already booked

and then this same weekend

we organized our own Zomerfolk festival

So we found a way

To get there in south of Germany

and also attend at our own festival in time

in the north of The Netherlands again

So Pieter en Jeroen prepared

the nightliner from Koos

one day before we traveled to this other festival

We drove off in the middle of the night

But first we had to pick up William

at the highway at the beginning of our journey

I love you true Alida but I think I'm gonna leave you

I don't want to sit at this place watching years go by

We're sitting with your fatty on your ugly satty

You're watching soaps and do fck it all down in Donegal

When the barman rings the bell

And announces to everybody:

Ain't you got no homes to go?

Well I sing: "I ain't got no home in this world anymore

I'm just passing through"

The next morning

at a very short night of sleep for me

We already arrived at Maulbronn

And we will perform at the Klosterfest

and while William and Dieb were still sleeping

we found a spot for our breakfast

In the town of Maulbronn

so we prepare the stage

We did a soundcheck and the rest of the day

we had to find some ways to entertain ourselves

You are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Home is where my friends are

You are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

I sing: Home is where my friends are

and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me now?

Well, I'd like to introduce you to the band that's playing

All the way where we came from, you don't want to know

I play with pints of lager and whiskey, scotch and all that stuff

I'm just rocking down the way. Go back to Donegal

'Cause! Home is where my friends are And you are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Home is where my friends are You are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Play six and reels and jigs at one time

And I'm just gonna walk that line

I don't care what you think

I keep just rolling on

I went on through St. Prady's

where I saw a lot of ladies

But none of them is as beautiful as down in Donegal

'Cause! Home is where my friends are

and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Say! Home is where my friends are

and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

I love ladies, And I can't get enough

And I dance with them 'till my legs fall of

On the dancefloor where I'm King

I'm just moving on

I'm drinking 'till I fall down

Me arms and legs are scattered around

In the bar of Rotterdam, once I dreamed of Donegal

'Cause! Home is where my friends are and you are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

Home is where my friends are You are all part of me

I leave you with this song

Are you coming, are you going, are you trying to stop me

And after this day in the beautiful medieval town of Maulbronn in Germany

We started our show in the night,

and we had a great concert from over one and a half hours

I love you true Alida but I think I'm gonna leave you

I don't want to sit at this place

after a short night of almost no sleep

I waked up in the beautiful Stadspark from Groningen

Where the preparations for the Zomerfolk festival

are ready and where we perform

three times that day

So first let's find a cup of coffee

Well I see I ain't got no home in this world anymore

I'm just passing through

Home is where my friends are

In the next Rapalje Shows we'll show you some more videos

from our Rapalje Zomerfolk festivals

and also some interviews with artists

Who performed at our festival

and please tell me in the comments

If you like these longer videos

and what would you like to see

when we are touring

or performing at a festival or another concert

If you want to be sure to see these new videos every week

please subscribe to our YouTube channel and hit the notification bell

and we keep you updated

And now you will see the start of an interview

with Sean Cannon from The Dublin Legends

Formerly known as The Dubliners

So yeah, now, this is..

Oh you can do record with remote control

No this is - It's a microphone - a little rat

A what? I have a rat on my shoulder

A rat!

Is this a phone? This is a phone

Ooh I see. And you put it on a tripod

It's the first week I'm going to try it this way

I want to give it easy also with microphone

Yes, - good idea - because it's

Ah, you need so much to have a good recording, but it's so easy

Yeah

And , eh, I don't want to fiddle around with all camera and things.

I just want to have a nice talk

Oh yeah, when I hope, eh

you had patience there now because I was signing things

Yes, we have patience

And then I was told there's a dinner ready for you and

Anyway,- was it good? - It was very good!

Red, red cabbage

in Dutch: red cabbage

You can speak Dutch, eh?

In Dutch: A little bit, A little bit, I learned it

In Dutch: red cabbage

Why Do Placebos Work? - Duration: 6:18.

Your brain is superpowered.

It's so powerful that it can actually convince you not to feel pain.

How's that possible?

It's all thanks to something called the placebo effect.

Placebos have been around for a /long/ time - back in the 16th century, Catholic priests

used fake religious relics during exorcisms to determine if a person was /truly/ possessed

by the devil or not.

But the term placebo wasn't commonly used in medicine until after 1763, when the physician

Alexander Sutherland used the word to condescendingly describe doctors who only aimed to please

their patients rather than focusing on providing effective treatment.

And "placebo" literally translates to "I will please" in Latin.

Nowadays, placebos are really just treatments that have no true medical effect - you know,

like sugar pills, or saline injections.

With a placebo, you're mimicking the action of /taking/ a medication or applying a treatment,

but there's no active ingredient - you're not really /doing/ anything.

So it's pretty weird that a lot of the time, placebos actually /work/.

But if a patient is not getting any medication, or receiving a real treatment, how is that

even possible?

In 1985, psychologist Irving Kirsch guessed that the reason placebos work could be because

of what he called response expectancies.

According to this theory, what a person experiences in any given situation is partially a result

of what they /expect/ to experience.

So if a doctor hands you a pill and tells you it'll make your pain go away, you /expect/

that it'll help your pain, and so you experience pain relief.

Or when your mom kisses your skinned knee and says "all better!", suddenly it doesn't

hurt anymore.

Placebos can also work as a result of classical conditioning.

Ivan Pavlov demonstrated classical conditioning back in the 1800's, when he presented dogs

with food while ringing a bell.

Eventually, the dogs learned that the sound of the bell meant they were about to receive

food, and they would start drooling even when there wasn't any food present.

In the case of a placebo, because we've learned that taking a pill will have a beneficial

effect on whatever ails us, if we swap the "real" pill out with a fake one, our bodies

will still react as if we were taking medication.

Or if a friend drinks non-alcoholic beer without knowing, they may still experience symptoms

of intoxication.

Psychologically speaking, placebos can be /very/ powerful - there's evidence that

placebos can be up to 70% as effective as taking an antidepressant drug for patients

with depression, and patients taking a placebo for migraines reported at least a 50% improvement

in their pain symptoms compared to no treatment - even if they knew it was a placebo!

And it turns out that those psychological effects may be connected to actual changes

in the brain and body.

In one small study, researchers used positron emission tomography, or a PET scan, to track

glucose metabolism in the brains of patients taking placebos to treat depression.

Because your brain requires lots of energy to function, scientists believe that more

glucose metabolism corresponds to more neuronal activity.

Patients who felt like their depression was improving while taking a placebo showed changes

in metabolism in the neocortex and limbic areas similar to those seen in patients who

were taking the antidepressant fluoxetine - also known as Prozac.

And in another small study, patients with Parkinson's Disease showed an increase in

dopamine release in the striatum, similar to that seen when patients were given a traditional

L-dopa medication.

Placebos are also known to have an analgesic effect, helping to reduce or eliminate pain

in many different situations - and in cases where placebos do help alleviate pain, they've

also been found to have effects in many different associated brain regions, including the prefrontal

cortex, cingulate cortex, and basal ganglia, and even into the brainstem and spinal cord.

Scientists believe that many of the effects of placebos can be linked to top down processing.

Our brains have to do a /lot/ of work to take in, process, and understand all of the information

it receives minute to minute.

So in addition to bottom up processing - where the brain integrates and responds to raw sensory

information - top down processing lets different brain regions give each other feedback based

on our memories and goals.

So essentially your brain is like, "Hey, I remember taking this medication.

It makes me feel better.

I better send a message telling everyone to get to work feeling better!"

This is especially true of complex conditions, like pain and depression - unlike something

like a heart murmur, which just kinda happens by itself and doesn't get processed through

the brain, these conditions have a big cognitive component, and require a lot of that top down

processing.

This may be why placebos seem to be particularly effective for those kinds of conditions.

The effects of placebos are a really incredible example of just how powerful our brains can

be; our minds can actually affect the way that we perceive intense physical stimuli

like pain, increase the effectiveness of medications, and impact how we cope with illnesses like

depression.

But that isn't to say that these kinds of illnesses are "just in our minds".

The real takeaway here is that brains are complex, and lots of different approaches

- from therapy to medication to pure mental strength - can be effective and useful when

it comes to these conditions.

Now, don't you feel better, just knowing how placebos work?

You do, don't you.

Yeah, you do.
