Youtube daily report Jul 5 2017

(upbeat rock music)

- We've been invited to observe

what might be the largest automotive collection

maybe in the world.

(upbeat rock music)

This is why people come to California to buy cars.

Oh, look at that, Datsun 510, my baby.

(upbeat rock music)

Hi, this is Tom Cotter,

I've been hunting down cars since I'm 12 years old,

and I'm still doing it today.

(upbeat rock music)

Follow me in this series

as we hunt down hidden classics all across America.

(upbeat rock music)

(moves into lively rock music)

We've been invited to observe

what might be the largest automotive collection,

maybe in the world.

It's not known as a car collection, though,

it's known as an art installation.

This was built 20 years ago by a guy named Tom Merkel,

his parents were artists and he wanted to be an artist,

and his medium was cars,

so on this site is between 1,200

and 1,800 cars set up in themes,

and I'm not sure what those themes are,

I think the largest theme is like, traffic jam, it's called.

Interesting guy, he was heir to the White Motor Company,

I guess his grandfather

or great-grandfather built White Cars and Trucks,

and so he had an inheritance,

and this is where he invested it.

Here's a sign that explains his mission.

"The Cuyama Historical Car Garden.

"A creative preservation project based

"on the oriental rock garden concept

"of balance between form and nature,

"a memorial to the men of machines

"and the machines of men, a sanctuary of form,

"time, and witness, please be respectful,

"by invitation only, no parts sold,

"estimated completion 1995,

"TM Merkel, creator and timekeeper."

Complex individual who is unfortunately not around

for us anymore, he passed away recently, for us to talk to,

I'd love to talk to this guy and find out, what was his,

what was in his mind about doing this?

But we're just gonna walk around for awhile,

until we get tired of walking,

and I'll carry my rattlesnake stick.

(upbeat rock music)

An Isetta, and this Isetta is known as the limo,

it had a 600 CC motor, it had a door in the front

and a door on the passenger side,

so this door opened up, I'm afraid

what might jump out on me if I open it up.

Santa Inez Airport, number 25.

Apparently he would go see old vehicles

in commercial businesses, like the airport,

and make an offer to buy,

"I'll just take all of them from you."

Nothing here is for sale,

no cars are for sale, no parts are for sale,

but if I could take one car out of here,

it would be this.

It's a Jaguar XK 150 coupe,

it's not in the worst condition I've seen,

it's got some rust around here,

but I've seen worse that have been restored.

This one does not have the original motor,

it's got an Oldsmobile engine in it,

and it looks like an automatic transmission,

probably some kind of turbo-hydramatic,

but I think this car could be restored.

At one time, I'm told, he had a couple of these back here,

E-types, XK 120s, even Porsche 356s.

This seems to be the only kind of exotic car left,

so if I could tow one car out of here, that would be it.

Well, enough with rattlesnakes and '58 Chevys

and 1,800 cars sitting on a mountainside, let's go.

(upbeat rock music)

Most of the people I meet

on Barn Find Hunter I've never met before,

and most of the people, I just knock on doors,

'cause it's cool cars in their driveway or whatever,

but this guy I happen to know,

I'm thinking for 32 or 33 years.

- Yeah.

- Skip Hart, he's a friend of mine.

Skip knew I was a hot rodder, and he said,

"I got a hot rod at home."

And so I haven't seen this hot rod probably

in 30-something years, 31, 32 years.

Well, would you show us this car again?

- Yes, yes, I definitely would.

- [Tom] Cool.

Oh, there we go.

Oh, that's a sweetheart, man.

What'd you pay for the Model A?

- [Skip] $200.00 back in 1964.

- You modified it with Chevy parts, where'd you get those?

Did you buy a parts car?

- No, I had a '58 Chevy and it caught on fire,

and I thought, well, I'll just take the motor and trans

and the rear end, and I put it in the roadster here,

and then the friend of mine,

he had a '64 Chevy Lumina two-speed powerglide,

and I took the '58 transmission out

and put the powerglide in this.

- [Tom] No kidding.

- [Skip] Just to, for lighting--

- [Tom] So what'd it cost you to build this whole car,

do you figure, back in the day?

- I probably got, probably $800.00 in it.

- [Tom] $800.00?

- Yes.

- [Tom] Well, would you consider selling it?

- [Skip] Oh, yeah, I probably would, Tom.

- [Tom] So you've got another

barn find sitting out in the driveway?

- Yeah, a '65 Ford Falcon, two-door hardtop Futura.

- Oh, well, let's take a look at that.

So how long do you think you've had this?

- [Skip] I've had this probably between 12 and 15 years.

- [Tom] That's a pretty darn solid body on there.

- [Skip] Yeah, this is all original.

- [Tom] Man, look at it, there's no rust.

- [Skip] And the body is very straight.

So it's got two-speed powerglide on the column.

- Oh, man, it's still painted factory color.

Look at that floor, this car is solid.

(both laugh)

Animals seem to follow me.

So it's got power steering, two barrel, I guess.

Two barrel, yeah, two barrel, yeah.

Boy, that's a solid darn car.

This is why people come to California to buy cars.

- [Skip] And I'm the third owner on this one.

- [Tom] No kidding?

- [Skip] Yes.

- [Tom] If you're asking me what I think this is worth,

a car this solid, I mean, somebody in New England

or the North would love this car,

'cause look, look at how solid the quarter panels are,

rocker panels, I would guess six grand?

I mean, what an easy restoration this would be, you know?

- [Skip] Yes.

- [Tom] Wow.

- [Skip] No, the body's really straight, you know,

and I think I've got an extra windshield in the trunk.

'Cause the windshield's broke, yeah.

- Yeah, that's a great car.

On our way over here we passed another place

that maybe is a junkyard or a towing yard.

We're gonna go over there right now and check it out.

(upbeat rock music)

So we're in Bernard Long's yard,

and he's been collecting cars since

he was just a little kid, and had several yards,

in fact, lived right across the street from here,

grew up across the street

and has had several yards with old cars.

So do you sell these cars or just hold onto 'em?

- [Bernard] It don't make any difference.

- Mm-hmm, so you got lots more outside, too?

- [Bernard] Yeah, two more places full of stuff.

- Geez.

How long have you known him, since you were a kid?

Which is how you old are?

(upbeat rock music)

Oh, look at it, there's another white truck.

They're getting larger.

- [Bernard] Yeah.

- [Tom] Yeah, we saw the car, and a truck,

and now we're seeing a big truck.

So this is like a '39 Ford, I think.

- [Bernard] Yeah.

- Franklin, you know, this is an air-cooled engine,

we've seen one of these before in Detroit,

this is an air-cooled straight

six, I guess.

(upbeat rock music)

And when I asked Bernard if anything was for sale,

he said, "Well, I guess so."

You know, when was the last time

you saw a crashed 1957 Thunderbird?

(upbeat rock music)

Oh, look at that, Datsun 510, my baby.

Now, I've got a soft spot in my heart for 510s.

Stock motor, it's got a single downdraft two-barrel Hitachi.

So what year is this, I would say '72,

I think that was the year they sold the most.

It's a four-door with a stick shift,

and it looks like something lives inside it.

I bet it's a solid car, if you wanted to restore a car,

or a 510, there's a west coast 510.

I just get the feeling there's more cars around here,

it seems to be very fruitful, so let's see

what else we can find while we're in the neighborhood.

(upbeat rock music)

I was driving down this road and I saw

gas pumps and street signs

and car-related stuff, but I looked really carefully,

I didn't seen any car stuff.

So I pulled in the driveway

and Joseph made a pretty strong statement about,

"You don't pull in my driveway unless you have permission."

So I had to pull out of the driveway,

but he, we wanted to become buddies,

I said, "I'm into old cars," and he said,

"Well, I've got old cars, and they're in the back."

So you can't see them, they're very well hidden,

but he's got cars in the back which I have not seen yet,

so lead the way, please.

(Joseph mumbles)

What year is this?

- [Joseph] This is a '56.

- [Tom] Is this your driver?

- [Joseph] Yeah, this a driver, oh yeah,

she's insured, she's registered and insured.

- [Tom] It's automatic,

what have you got for a motor in there?

- [Joseph] It's a two, everything's stocked.

Stock 223, Ford automatic--

- [Tom] 223-6, so how long have you had this truck?

- [Joseph] Since 1984.

- What did you pay for it?

- 2,800.

- That was a good buy.

- I can show you a picture of how clean it looked,

and cherry, but it's been out here all these years

with no cover, so all this aging is since I've been here,

since '88.

- But it's still solid, right?

You don't get much rain out here, right?

- [Joseph] Not a lot, a lot.

This is all the weathering that's happened to it,

I can show you a picture when it looks really--

- [Tom] So in other words, this was all blue on here?

- [Joseph] Everything's blue,

I can show you a picture on my phone, what it looked like,

but you won't even believe the difference,

but this is where it's come all these years.

- [Tom] That's a pretty one, and you drive it around, no--

- Oh yeah, oh yeah.

- [Tom] I see an El Camino over here,

I have seen more El Caminos

in California then I've seen in a long time, '66?

- [Joseph] '64.

- [Tom] '64, okay.

- [Joseph] Yeah, '64, 283, I've had it,

I work with a gentleman and for 20 years he kept telling me,

"Hey Joseph, I've got this El Camino."

I never saw it, and after he retired, he called me up

and asked me if I'd give $400.00 for it.

I couldn't get my trailer together

quick enough to go get it.

- [Tom] So how long have you had it?

- [Joseph] Oh man, this one I've had

about 10 years right now, the weekend I bought it,

I saw it pitted on the hood, there's a ding in the back,

and I was able to, that weekend,

to find another hood and another fender for this one,

and a real tailgate, all the same weekend,

all the parts that I would need

for the body to be (mumbles) cherry.

- [Tom] Are you interested in selling any of these cars?

- [Joseph] It's possible,

it's possible, I haven't in the past,

but maybe it's time to consider that, you know.

- [Tom] Now this is one of my favorites.

- [Joseph] '68.

- [Tom] I have a '68 Cougar.

- [Joseph] Oh, do you?

- [Tom] So it's a 302?

- [Joseph] Yes, 302.

- [Tom] Air conditioned?

- [Joseph] Mm-hmm.

- [Tom] Two barrel air conditioning.

Did you ever drive this?

- [Joseph] Yeah, my son did,

my son drove for a number of years.

- [Tom] Did he put the dent in it?

- [Joseph] Yes, he did.

(Tom laughs)

Yes, he did.

- [Tom] And that's a '66 Ford?

- [Joseph] This is a '68, '66 Galaxy, man.

- [Tom] '66 Galaxy with a 352--

- [Joseph] I used to have the seven liter.

- [Tom] Oh, did you really,

was it a four-speed or an automatic?

- [Joseph] It was automatic.

- [Tom] So this is a two-door hardtop,

peel all this, drop the windows, wide open.

So if I wanted to buy the El Camino,

what would you ask for that?

- [Joseph] Wow, I don't know, but I guess

at this point I'd be willing to negotiate.

- [Tom] Okay.

- [Joseph] This is a '72 Grand Torino from,

again, from the front seat forward,

it's exactly like the vehicle.

- [Tom] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

- [Joseph] Like a sedan.

- [Tom] Was this in a fire, or is it just the way it rusted?

- [Joseph] I don't know, Grandpa bought it this way,

I think it's just the way it rusted, to tell you the truth.

- [Tom] Yeah.

Alright, that's the vehicles.

I think we could spend a whole season

of Barn Find Hunter just finding cars in California.

Four days ago we didn't have any idea where cars were.

We met people at a Cars and Coffee,

they gave us some ideas, if you live in California

and don't think there's any cars left,

you're not looking hard enough.

And if you don't live in California,

get there as soon as you can,

because they're gonna go quickly, happy hunting.

(car tires squeal)

Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC Pack 1: The Master Trials - REVIEW (Nintendo Switch) - Duration: 4:53.

There's little doubt that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an incredible

game.

I sunk over 120 hours into it myself, hunting down every Shrine, trying to complete the

sidequests, and picking up every Korok Seed I came across.

While I didn't do everything the game had to offer, I felt satisfied in what I had accomplished

and was ready to move on.

But that's where Nintendo's first DLC Pack for Breath of the Wild, dubbed The Master

Trials, comes in.

It's designed to provide even more content and even more ways to play.

But does it succeed?

Is it worth the purchase?

Well, let's look a little closer.

The two biggest pieces of the DLC are the Master Mode difficulty and the Trial of the

Sword.

Master Mode is a harder difficulty for the main game and Nintendo has thankfully separated

it in such a way that you can have one game for the normal difficulty and another for

this difficulty.

But even that is made harder in Master Mode as there's only one autosave slot.

This is definitely designed to challenge your knowledge and skills.

Every enemy that has multiple colors in the normal difficulty has been leveled up for

lack of a better term.

That means that are no orange Bokoblins to easily deal with in the early going.

They're all blue meaning they hit much harder and take a lot more damage.

Adding onto this is the fact that you need to stay aggressive as every enemy will regain

health if left alone.

I played up until the end of the Plateau, but I honestly didn't find it that much

more difficult.

Sure there's a Lynel on the Plateau now and enemies are a pain to defeat, but I was

able to avoid almost all of them with little trouble.

It got tricky when I was forced into a fight, but I could see myself using the knowledge

I already have to get what I need in order to actually battle with little issue.

Still, it definitely has more teeth than the normal difficulty.

The other big addition is the Trial of the Sword, which challenges Link to complete a

series of rooms with limited resources.

He starts with no equipment whatsoever and only has access to his runes.

It's all about figuring out the best way to handle the elements, the enemies, and your

own scant inventory.

And quite frankly, it's my favorite part of the DLC.

Each set of rooms has its own kind of difficulty and I found myself having to use all the skills

I had learned up to that point just to survive.

I went in as prepared as possible with full hearts and plenty of inventory space and I

still came to the brink of death more than a few times.

It felt like a more purposefully designed difficulty curve than the Master Mode.

It lasts a decent amount of time too, with the whole thing taking me about 4 hours, and

there are checkpoints so you don't have to do it all in one big chunk.

The reward for all this is not that great though with the Master Sword powering up to

60 and lasting a bit longer, but it's still far from the most powerful weapon in the game

which is kind of unfortunate considering all you have to do to get it to that point.

Still, I did find the journey to be engaging.

The DLC also adds a few EX sidequests that will lead you to where you can find the new

equipment and tools like the Travel Medallion that allows you to place a teleport anywhere

on the map, the Korok Mask that shakes when near a hidden Korok, and the new clothes that

Link can equip with their own mild uses.

The last bit the DLC adds is the simple Hero's Path mode which shows where you've been

in the past 200 hours although I never really bothered looking at it after the first time.

And that sort've applies to all of this stuff.

It's fun to hunt it down, and I appreciate that Nintendo doesn't force you to wander

the world to find your goodies, but as someone who's already beaten the game, there's

not much else for me to enjoy.

It's cute, but stuff like the Travel Medallion or Korok Mask would've been more useful

when I was still playing for the first time.

Really, all of these additions serves new players far better than veterans with the

exception of the Master Mode.

But because I already played the game so recently, I'm not really read to dive back in.

I like it and had fun but, in the end, it's more functional DLC and just wasn't enough

to truly excite me or get me to go another round.

If you've already played Breath of the Wild to death, I would hold off on this DLC for

now and see what the 2nd DLC Pack provides.

That way you could possibly enjoy what it offers in addition to the new things found

here.

Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe to GameXplain for more on The Legend of Zelda

and other things gaming.

June Book Haul // Queer Releases & more! [CC] ad - Duration: 9:52.

Hello! Today I have for you a book haul. One of the main reasons I really wanted

to do a book haul was because I picked up tons of LGBTQI A+ reads throughout

the month of June, throughout Pride, and I just wanted to

share them off with you guys and talk about them and get excited about all of

them! And also this video is partially being sponsored by Film 14, who I've

worked with before and I will show you a clip from one of the new trailers, which

is related to a book I got recently, later on in the video. Let's start with

all the queer books because I'm wearing a rainbow shirt. The first one is one

that I've been meaning to pick up forever and I could not find when I was

in the UK and so I was like it's fine, I'll get it this summer, it'll be fine

and that is Of Fire and Stars by Aldrete Coulthurst. Of Fire and Stars in short is a

story of a woman who is betrothed to a prince who is meant to align two

kingdoms or something along those lines, but she ends up falling in love with the

princes sister. That's all I really know about it, that's all I need to know, I'm

invested. I've heard so many great things about this book throughout the year and

I'm very excited to pick this up. The next book I have this one I've actually

already read and that is How to Make a Wish by Ashley Herring Blake. How to Make

a Wish is a really really wonderful story of a girl named Grace who has a

very toxic relationship with her mother and she's going through a very

transitional point in her life where she's applying to colleges and trying to

get away, but also knows that she's going to be held back by having to support and

stay with her kind of volatile mother. In comes Ava who is a biracial girl, which

is awesome for representation, who moves in with Grace's best friend because her

mother has recently passed away. Her mother and her were very close and her

mother was friends with Grace's best friend's mom so she moves in with them

and the two form a friendship and eventually potentially a relationship

and it's just a really really great story as a whole. Great relationships.

Okay, that's this it's, really really wonderful contemporary. The next book I

have here is Tosh Hearts Tolstoy by Katherine Ormsby. I don't know a ton

about this book I know that it does have asexual representation and I believe the

main character in this story is like a youtuber or she does something on the

Internet that becomes really popular, she goes viral, yeah, her show was a modern

adaptation of Anna Karenina. Yes I'm-- this sounds great. The next book I'm

currently reading and that is More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. I loved

History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera, so I've need to pick this up before his

next book, which is They Both Die at the End comes out in September. Preorder it.

This is the story of a boy named Aaron, whose father has recently committed

suicide, his whole family is kind of reeling from that. He also had, I believe,

attempted suicide, as well. They live in a world where you can undertake a

procedure to kind of forget everything about yourself, essentially, I think is

the gist of it and he finds out that he's gay

and then wishes to undertake the procedure to forget that he's gay, so I'm

really excited about this. I'm not very far into it I think I'm like 60 pages

but love Adams writing. the next book is one you've probably heard a ton about

here on YouTube and it is Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde. Another one I really wanted

in London but I couldn't find a copy, so I waited till I got home. This is the

story of another vlogger, I love all these like vlogger books. It's a story of

a girl who's a vlogger and she goes to a sort of comic-con thing and meets

another girl who's a vlogger and I think they form a relationship. There's a

lot of different types of representation in this book. There's a lot of different

representation in the story, I believe that there's anxiety rep, there's, I

think, autistic representation in this. I can't be sure it does say that she her

brain works differently, she's wired differently than other people, so lots of

different representation. Girl-- queer girl novel, I'm here for it.

Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour I loved We Are Okay by Nina LaCour, so I

knew I had to pick this one up. This is story of a girl who works as a

production designer and she's kind of like an assistant, she's lower in the

ranks, trying to move up in the film industry, and she-- sorry, I'm looking my

dog he's pacing. She finds a letter from some Hollywood film legend and they--

there's a mystery, I don't know. I don't know much about it. I just know I love

Nina LaCour's writing and I know that this is a book about two girls falling

in love, so I really want to pick it up and I'm excited about this one. This is

on my--I'm going to read that soon. Seven Ways We Live by Riley Redgate is a

book I've actually already read because I was told and there is a pansexual

representation in it, which excited me and yeah this is story of seven

different students who all represent the seven deadly sins. At my local bookstore,

sometimes they have used copies that are cheaper so I got this for $8.99 or

something, which is cool because it's hardback and this is a

recent release. This is Noteworthy by Riley Redgate and I believe it's

about a girl who joins a male a cappella group, like disguises herself as a male

to be on the acapella team or something like that, which sounds really fun. I

liked Riley Redgate's last book, I figured I'd pick this up, especially at

such a low cost. None of the Bbove by I.W. Gregorio, I don't know anything about

this except that the main character is intersex and so I want to pick it up

purely because of that, because I've never read a book about an intersex

character and that seems like a gap in my reading. So definitely had to

pick this up, I know that the author is not intersex, but they are a doctor, so--

and who works within intersex patients, so I feel like that is applicable. And I

believe my final queer novel of this haul is Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy and

this is one that I heard a lot controversy about because apparently,

it's the story of a girl who believes she's a lesbian, who actually ends up falling for

a boy and really discovering that she is bisexual and I heard a lot of people

kind of calling that out and whatever, but I feel like that's really good

bisexual representation. Sometimes you think you're, for a really long time, you're

one thing, but sexuality is fluid and you find out that you don't just like

girls or just boys or whatever, binaries are for computers, you know. I just love

this cover too and the spine looks so nice on my shelf. I'm going to pick that

up soon. The next book I have is The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr. I was

actually sent to by Penguin a really long time ago and I I just haven't

gotten around to talking about it, but I do think it's really interesting. it's

about a girl who has short-term memory loss, but she has one memory that sticks

and it's of this guy. And so she has to go find the guy. I actually- I'm working with

Film 14 because they made this really beautiful, incredible trailer that I'm

going to show right here.

Imagine waking up every day not knowing what happened to day before. My name is

Flora Banks I'm 17 and I have no short-term memory.

Every new experience and thought slips away from me as quickly as it comes,

except for Drake. I remember him and the night. He is my one and only new memory. I

have to find him I think he may be the one.

How do you know you can even trust them?

Don't you just want to read it? I think it looks really pretty. Next book

I have is one I'm really really excited about and that is Love, Hate and Other

Filters by Samira Ahmed and I just got sent to me by Soho Teen, so thank you Soho

Teen. This comes out in January of next year, which is really far away. This says

that it's about a Muslim teen coping with Islamophobia, cultural divides among

peers and parents, and a reality she can neither explain nor escape.

I want to read this because I think it's going to be a great voice in YA

literature. I really like stories about people experiencing two different

cultures and kind of balancing the two that kind of code-switching, is that what it's

called, code-switching? I'm really interested in that because

it's something I have obviously never experienced being a cis white person.

Really excited about this. My next read is actually You're Welcome, Universe by

Whitney Gartner and you've probably heard about this because it came out quite a

while ago, but I just recently picked it up at my local bookstore and that is--

this is a story about a girl at a deaf school who gets bullied and the main

character is a graffiti artist and she like, covers the awful thing that someone

is written about her friend with her own graffiti, which then gets her kicked out

of school and sent to like a regular public school and she's the only deaf

person there. And yeah, it's just her experience in that context. As I said, this

is my next read once I finish More Happy Than Not, so I'll let you know my thoughts

soon. Second-to-last book I have is Not if I See You First by Eric Lindstrom. I

bought this for diversity bingo because I need a book about a character or a

main character with who's visually impaired. This is story about a girl

named Parker who has all of these rules and her first rule is don't treat her

differently because she can't see, so I think that's really cool. I like all the

Braille on the cover. and the final book is one that I've been seeing everywhere

I'm so excited about and it's Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. I

actually have another book by Francesca Zappia called Made You Up, it's

right there, that I've been meaning to read for ages, so I'm going to read that soon

and I think I'll read that before this, because I like reading authors in

publication order, but yes this is a story about a girl who I believe it has

really good anxiety representation. It's about a girl who

creates an online web comic and she meets someone who really likes the

webcomic and they kind of build a friendship and something along those

lines. This reminds me a lot of Radio Silence by Alice Oseman, which I

absolutely loved, really encourage you to pick up Radio Silence. It's another, I really

love the illustrations on the cover. I think this is really cool. And that is

all for me. Sorry this is long. Thank you to Film 14 for sponsoring this video, let

me know what books you've picked up recently and I'll see you real soon with

my-- I think my next video will be my June wrap-up, reads, thing. Cool, bye!

Upcoming Netflix Originals You Didn't Know Were Being Made - Duration: 7:33.

Netflix puts billions of dollars into new content every year, but while everyone hears

about buzzy releases like Orange Is the New Black and House of Cards, the sheer amount

of content means other shows get lost in the shuffle.

To help out, here are a bunch of upcoming Netflix originals that are going to blow you

away.

Disjointed

Kathy Bates is getting high for Disjointed, a comedy in which she stars as Ruth, "a woman

whose lifelong mission has been to decriminalize marijuana."

The series finds Ruth running a Los Angeles-area marijuana dispensary—and finding that business

is much, much harder when you're stoned.

Disjointed, which released a teaser on 4/20, will premiere its 20-episode first season

on August 25th.

David Javerbaum of The Daily Show co-created the comedy alongside Chuck Lorre, and a strong

supporting cast rounds out the ensemble.

Hold the Dark

Adapted from the William Giraldi 2014 novel of the same name, Hold the Dark focuses on

the pursuit of a wolf responsible for killing children in the Alaskan wilderness, and stars

Alexander Skarsgard and Westworld's Jeffrey Wright

Hold the Dark comes from director Jeremy Saulnier, the man behind the critically acclaimed thriller

Green Room.

While Hold the Dark doesn't yet have a release date, it started production in early 2017,

so hopefully Saulnier will be back to terrify viewers soon.

Green Eggs and Ham

Netflix's adaptation of Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham will follow the book's characters

Guy and Sam as they "take a road trip to save an endangered animal."

Along the way, they learn about friendship—and, of course, green eggs and ham.

Ellen DeGeneres' attachment as an executive producer is already a great sign for Green

Eggs and Ham, which, despite the book's popularity, has yet to be adapted into a film or TV series,

aside from the 1973 special Dr. Seuss on the Loose.

Netflix has stayed pretty quiet about the show since greenlighting it in 2015, but their

website notes that its 13-episode first season is expected to debut in 2018.

The Irishman

With an estimated budget of over $100 million, The Irishman is one of Netflix's priciest

upcoming projects, but one that's definitely worth the price—it reunites Martin Scorsese

with Robert De Niro, along with a rumored supporting cast of heavy hitters like Al Pacino,

Joe Pesci, and Harvey Keitel.

The Irishman stars De Niro as Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran, the mob hitman allegedly responsible

for the death of Jimmy Hoffa.

"It's about Hoffa, um.

Basically it's the guy confesses that he had killed Hoffa."

With a huge amount of talent on both sides of the camera, this movie will surely be on

your radar—and in your queue—soon.

Lost in Space

Netflix is setting out to remake the popular 1960s series Lost in Space,.

You know, this one:

"It crashed over there.

Come on, let's take a look."

"Danger, Will Robinson.

Danger."

The show will follow a new cast on the spaceship Jupiter 2, which is stranded light years away

from its original destination after a crash.

Cast member Toby Stephens calls it a "very clever, modern reworking" of the original

show's story.

The 10-episode reboot is expected out in 2018.

Little Evil

This horror comedy stars Adam Scott and Evangeline Lilly as a newly married couple with a son...

who just might be the Antichrist.

In addition to a fun premise and a great cast, Little Evil has some impressive people working

behind the scenes, with Tucker and Dale vs. Evil writer/director Eli Craig once again

pulling double duty for his first feature since that 2010 cult hit.

The movie is expected to debut in 2017.

Mute

Hold the Dark isn't Alexander Skarsgard's only upcoming Netflix film.

He'll also star in Mute.

Skarsgard plays Leo, a mute bartender living in a near-future Berlin who embarks on a mission

through the city's seedy underbelly to try and find his missing girlfriend.

Mute is the second film in a sci-fi trilogy from director Duncan Jones, who says it's

set in the same universe as his 2009 cult favorite Moon.

Jones says he plans for Mute to imagine Berlin the way Blade Runner depicted Los Angeles—just

one more reason it'll definitely be one to watch when it debuts later this year.

Game Over, Man!

The Workaholics gang will reunite for Game Over, Man!, an action comedy featuring Blake

Anderson, Anders Holm, and Adam Devine as three friends "on the verge of getting their

video game financed when their benefactor is taken hostage by terrorists."

Seth Rogen is set to produce the film alongside his writing partner Evan Goldberg, and Kyle

Newacheck, the co-creator of Workaholics, will direct based on a script from Anders

Holm.

IO

This sci-fi movie tells the story of Sam Walde, a teen who finds herself one of the few survivors

on a post-apocalyptic Earth.

Sam is played by The Nice Guys' Margaret Qualley, and Anthony Mackie—who you'll recognize

as The Avengers' Falcon—co-stars as Micah, a fellow refugee on his way to the last human

shuttle leaving Earth.

Danny Huston, recently spotted in DC's Wonder Woman, will also appear in an undisclosed

role.

There's no word yet on when the movie will premiere, although filming took place in late

2016, so hopefully IO will be here to get all of our hearts racing soon.

Big Mouth

Netflix's upcoming animated comedy Big Mouth follows comedian Nick Kroll's time as an awkward

teenager growing up with his best friend Andrew Goldberg, now a writer and producer for Family

Guy.

Kroll voices himself, with fellow standup John Mulaney playing Goldberg.

Kroll calls the show "over 30 years in the making," and he's clearly using his comedy

connections to round out the cast—he's recruited an impressive roster that includes Maya Rudolph,

Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, and Jenny Slate.

The series is expected out in 2017.

Gerald's Game

There are about a billion Stephen King adaptations in the works, and Netflix is joining the arena

with Gerald's Game, starring Watchmen's Carla Gugino as a woman stranded in her lakeside

home after a sex game gone wrong.

Gerald's Game doesn't have a release date yet, but it boasts an accomplished horror

director in Mike Flanagan.

Flanagan also has King's full support—Gugino has said that King was a big fan of Flanagan's

Hush and gave him his blessing in pursuing the project.

King is also apparently pretty happy with the early cut, tweeting in February of this

year that the movie is "horrifying, hypnotic, terrific."

1922

Another Stephen King adaptation in the works at Netflix, 1922 stars an actor familiar with

the bestselling author's work: Thomas Jane, who led the 2003 film adaptation of King's

Dreamcatcher and the 2007 adaptation of The Mist.

Jane plays Wilfred James, a man who admits to killing his wife with the help of his teenage

son.

After her death, he starts to believe that she's haunting him.

Altered Carbon

Based on the 2002 novel by Richard K. Morgan, Altered Carbon focuses on Takeshi Kovacs,

a former elite warrior who's been imprisoned for 500 years before his mind is downloaded

into someone else's body to solve a murder.

Suicide Squad star Joel Kinnaman will take on the role of Kovacs, starring opposite Kristin

Lehman and James Purefoy.

The #1 Car Detailing Mistake | Autoblog Details - Duration: 4:08.

- The number one detailing mistake is a very basic concept

that eludes most people in the pursuit of a cleaner car.

This, of course, is improperly wiping, cleaning

or touching the paint too often without lubrication

and with improper or dirty towels.

This is known as over-touching

and it's the number one detailing mistake

yet it's easily avoidable.

Find out how it happens and how to avoid it today

on Autoblog Details.

Let's start at the very beginning.

When paint becomes muddy, dirty or even just lightly dusty

the desire to return the car back to shiny is inherent

in every car guy or gal.

What we don't realize is that

anything that sits on top of the paint

will cause some type of marring as it's wiped off

because dirt is actually rocks, just microscopic.

This is what a dirty car looks like under magnification.

These jagged particles tumble and roll across soft paint

and leave lines known as love marks or spider webs.

Cars that have these very fine lines in the paint

are a good indication that the cleaning technique used

on the paint needs to be adjusted.

Now imagine this rock as one of millions of tiny little

rocks within a given 12 inch wide space on your paint.

During the wipe, the towel pushes the rock across the paint,

as these rocks roll they scour the clear coat.

And even worse when the rocks don't roll at all

they actually grind across the paint causing deeper

yet still microscopic gouges.

The accumulation of these gouges are known as micro marring

and are the likely cause of dull or swirled looking paint.

Dry-wiping occurs when a towel is wiped across

a dirty or dusty surface without the use of

water, spray wax or drying agents.

In fact the most common form of dry-wiping

is without a towel at all.

We've all seen it, the dreaded hand wipe.

Hand wiping down the side of the car is just as destructive

as a terry towel and in some cases even worse.

Car shows are notorious for this type of innocent

yet wildy annoying scratching.

To avoid dry-wiping simply introduce a lubricant.

Water from a hose, spray wax and drying aids

help encapsulate, lift and encourage contaminants

to glide off the paint,

leaving less opportunity for potential marring.

Paper towels, beach towels and terry towels

are not to be used on the vehicles paint.

Their material is designed to absorb but not necessarily

pick up any contaminants it may encounter during the wipe.

Microfiber towels have largely solved this problem

as they are absorbent and designed to suspend particles

away from the surface of the paint during the wipe.

However, just because it's microfiber

doesn't mean it won't scratch the surface.

It must be clean to be safe.

Dirty, or full, microfiber towels do not allow enough space

for the new particles to be absorbed

because the fibers are already full of debris.

When they're full, continuing to wipe only pushes dirt

around the paint in the similar fashion as paper, beach

and terry towels thus defeating the entire purpose.

The number one cause of detailing mistakes

really boils down to a lack of patience.

Much like any worthy cause,

patience and persistence is the key to success

and maintaining your paint is no different.

If your car's dusty or dirty yet you have

no access to a hose, or a spray wax handy,

waiting until you get home is a virtue few car guys possess.

We must continually wipe, continually touch

and continually fuss with the paint

and although, satisfying as it is in the moment,

the long term consequences are fine lines, swirl marks

and what I call love marks.

Don't over love your car

and your paint will shine for you in return.

By understanding and embracing this philosophy your paint

will look better and require less abrasive restoration

otherwise known as compounding and polishing.

Adhere to the detailer's oath of do no harm to the car

or in other words, clean it properly

or you'll end up paying for it later.

WWE Edit Out Paige Sex Tape Joke From Smackdown! Booker T Unhappy! | WrestleTalk News July 2017 - Duration: 4:23.

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News!

I'm Oli Davis.

Kevin Owens: The Face Of DVD Sales Independence Day didn't just see the return

of John Cena to WWE, the Smackdown Live debut of Rusev and Will Smith overcoming an alien

invasion.

July 4th also saw the official release of Kevin Owens' first WWE DVD, quite fitting

for the current United States champion and self-proclaimed Face of America.

He won't beat you though, Will!

Kevin Owens allowed himself a moment of reflection on Twitter:

"In 1995, my dad rented a VHS of WrestleMania 11 at this video store in my hometown of Marieville.

Today, my parents bought my DVD there."

PWInsider is reporting KO's Digital Versatile Disc is "already a massive hit," selling

out in several stores already and on Amazon even for fans who've ordered in advance.

The article notes this level of demand hasn't been seen since the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD.

While this is great news for Owens' position in the company, as nothing speaks to Vince

McMahon like ALL THE MONEY, this could be a case of WWE and various stores underestimating

demand and not ordering enough copies.

Usos 'Sex Tape' Smackdown Joke Unscripted?

July 4th had another reason to celebrate, though: Smackdown's New Day vs Usos Rap

Battle was better than it had any right to be - with some calling it one of the best

segments of the year so far.

Each team drew their lines from reality just as much as kayfabe, like these two from Xavier

Woods: "You and your brother - you're tag champs,

you turned the Universe into believers, But please always remember you were absolutely

nothing until your wife put you on Total Divas" "We don't use our cell phones when we're

international, 'cos that's roaming.

Y'all should get back to what you do best, and that's carrying bags for who?

That's carrying bags for Roman."

Which are references to Jimmy Uso being married to Total Divas star (and current Smackdown

Women's Champion) Naomi, and the brothers belonging to the same Anoa'i family as Roman

Reigns in real life.

But it was the Usos who won the rap battle in the first round, with their line to Big

E: "Let's just keep it PG, you know what's

good… don't get all Rated R like ya boy Xavier Woods."

A reference to Xavier's alleged sex tape cameo with fellow WWE wrestler Paige in a

hack from several months ago.

The New Day are said to have relatively free reign when it comes to scripting their own

promos, and considering how differently the Usos sound compared to the rest of the roster,

they might have the same - hinting the sex tape joke was an unscripted line.

The version of this segment uploaded to WWE's YouTube channel seems to support this, with

the Usos' 'Rated R' gag - which got the biggest crowd reaction of the night - edited

out of the Smackdown clip.

I would argue the Usos joke is an example of unscripted promos going very, very well,

injecting a much-needed spark of spontaneity and realism into WWE TV.

Sadly, that doesn't always go to plan.

Booker T Unhappy With New Day Joke The Miz TV segment on last Monday's Raw

was cut short after LaMelo Ball said the N-word into a live mic, which reportedly sent the

backstage area with Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn into "chaos".

On the following night's Smackdown, The New Day made fun of the segment, referencing

Booker T's infamous N-word promo, when Big E told The Usos "We comin' for you-"

before being cut off.

On his Heated Conversations podcast, Raw commentator Booker T revealed he wasn't pleased with

the gag: "I don't appreciate it.

I don't know if [WWE] knew that the parody was gonna go down, because I knew [The New

Day] write and do a lot of their own stuff...I think that parody should have never been shown

on television, because it wasn't a great moment for us as black people.

For us as black people, it was one of our worst moments.""

John Cena and Rusev just returned to Smackdown!

And how should Baron Corbin cash-in his Money in the Bank briefcase?

2009-2014 F150 Barricade 5" Oval Bend Side Step Bars Review & Install - Duration: 3:46.

The Barricade 5-inch Oval Bend and Side Step Bar in the polished stainless-steel finish

is available for any '09-14 F-150 owner who might be looking for some safe and secure

ways to hop in and out of their truck, especially if it's a lifted set-up.

On top of that, this does get a beefier, 5-inch wide polished looking bar with bent ends,

just to make it a bit more unique, and it also has gripping stepping pads under each

of the doors.

Now, with that said, the install is extremely straightforward, and will definitely get a

one-out-of-three wrenches on our difficulty meter, making it a direct bolt-on, but we'll

touch on that later.

So, side steps pretty much serve the same function across the board, no matter which

one you're looking at.

That's pretty obvious.

When it comes to decision making, however, the appearance, styling, and design is really

what plays the biggest factor.

Now, in talking about the different options on the site, you'll see side steps like the

one in front of me today, but you'll also see Nerf bars and running boards.

So, side steps and Nerf bars like this one will actually gap out completely from the

truck, and offer stepping pads only under each of the doors and, in some cases, under

the bed as well.

Now, if you're looking at running boards, however, they will stay flush against the

rocker panel on your truck, and offer, pretty much, a gripping pad across the entire bar.

Now, it really comes down to what you're looking for.

Side steps typically are more after-market looking, whereas running boards offer a more

OEM-like pattern.

Obviously, it all comes down to what you're looking for as far as styling and appearance,

because they all do, at the end of the day, serve the same function.

As far as the one we're taking a look at today, this one actually does offer a 5-inch diameter,

stainless-steel tubing, with a polished, mirror-like shine finish on top.

Now, that's pretty standard.

You'll see a ton of options out there with this type of finish.

But, what makes this one a little bit different than some of the others is the bent ends we

have here.

These are bent in toward the vehicle, just to add just a little bit more styling and

customization to it.

You'll see two stepping pads here for your grip.

They offer a tire tread-like pattern, which offers your grip for your boots or shoes,

or whatever it shall be, all year round, no matter what the weather condition is like:

rain, snow, sleet, or hail.

Now, if you know anything about Barricade, then you know they typically offer all of

their products for a very budget-friendly and affordable price, and this side step is

absolutely no different.

The 5-inch polished option I have here is available for around the $200 mark.

There's also a black option if you're more interested in the stealthy approach, which

falls in the same price range.

Definitely something you can get to aid your hopping in and out of the truck, great for

lifted set-ups if you need that angle to get up there.

If you're short like me, it makes all the difference.

Shifting over to the install portion of the video, as I mentioned in the very beginning,

this is gonna be a direct bolt-on install.

It's extremely simple stuff.

There is an instruction manual included in the kit for you, but it's really, really a

no-brainer.

As far as install tools, you'll need a ratchet and a simple socket set and, really, that's

about it.

From start to finish, shouldn't take you longer than an hour, and I will definitely give it

a one-out-of-three wrenches on our difficulty meter.

All you really need to do to get this job done is pick up some of the brackets included

in the kit there, as well as the hardware, and bolt it down to the pre-existing holes

located on the interior wall of your rocker panels.

No drilling or cutting necessary, because everything is already on the vehicle to start

from the factory.

Once the brackets are bolted down, you might need a helping hand to get the bar into place

while you work the ratchet, but that's really just a matter of bolting down about four bolts.

Repeat this exact same process for the opposite side and, well, you're good to go.

And that just about does it here.

So, if you're the owner of a '09-14 F-150, you might want to check out the Barricade

5-inch Oval Bend Side Step Bars in the polished stainless-steel finish, which you can find

right here at americantrucks.com.

California Grizzly - Yosemite Nature Notes - Episode 30 - Duration: 6:32.

[music, drumming]

[ethereal music]

MAN: Some people believe that the word Yosemite comes from the word for grizzly bear.

Grizzly bears have a very strong connection to Yosemite,

Although it's been a very long time since we've seen one in Yosemite.

The Miwok people in Yosemite Valley were divided into moieties.

There were people south of the river were named for coyote: aheli.

and they were water people.

People north of the river were land people and they were named for grizzly bear, or uzumati,

mati referring to bear, uzu referring to grizzly.

The black bear was called humati.

For the Miwok people, the grizzly bear was the

for lack of a better term, "spirit animal", the protector of the people.

WOMAN: People are fascinated by grizzlies. They kind of embody these human traits

that we as a culture admire: persistence never-say-die, undaunted.

and so we raised the animal to this icon that we think exemplifies our better natures.

This depiction of the grizzly as being heroic and iconic for the state of California.

MAN: Every Californian had seen that image of a grizzly bear on our flag,

and that matters. That tells us that it matters.

The places where people live now were fully populated by grizzly bears.

Grizzly bears dining on whale carcasses on the beach,

were now people lounge and relax.

There were grizzly bears where Los Angeles is now.

There were lots of grizzly bears where San Francisco is today.

So to go from 10,000 grizzly bears estimated to live in California

at the time of statehood to none by 1925, 75 years later it's really quite startling

We have lost something that we're mostly not aware of, something that used to be

so numerous and we hunted them to extinction.

The grizzly bears presence in Yosemite was one of the many things

that added to its wildness that we're now missing.

and I think it's important for us to know about where the name Yosemite comes from

for us to know about a character like Grizzly Adams.

BEN: Grizzly Adams was one of the shows when I was growing up as a kid

You got this hairy old guy, got a bear as his best friend.

[music]

So most people don't realize that Grizzly Adams was a real person

He capitalizes on the romance and the mystique of the frontiersman,

and has what he calls the "Mountaineer Museum"

right in San Francisco, on Clay Street, where you can come and see his live menagerie

of grizzly bears, black bears, eagles, all sorts of things.

He describes having a base of operations or a hunting camp near or in Yosemite

at the headwaters of the Merced River

SUSUAN: He sometimes would find a denning female

kill the mother, take the cub and raise it.

PETE: and one of these cubs became his most famous bear Benjamin Franklin

well enough known as a resident of San Francisco

that when he died in 1858 there was an obituary written for him

titled the "Death of a Distinguished Native Californian"

Grizzly Adams himself passes away two years later in 1860 and is buried in his

home state of Massachusetts. We don't know what became of the remains of Ben Franklin.

[ethereal music]

SUSAN: There are a lot of good stories about the last grizzlies.

Wallmans' bear was one of them.

PETE: We have a fascinating account from 1887 written up by

a rancher named Robert Wellman, who describes the killing of what

some considered to be the last grizzly in Yosemite .

Wellman is a stockman he's running cattle near a place called

Crescent Lake in the south part of Yosemite

and he finds a carcass of one of his cattle and he finds bear tracks

around this carcass and he realizes there's a grizzly bear here.

so he goes to Jim Duncan, who's his nearest neighbor. Duncan is a bear hunter.

Duncan is skeptical but he sees the size of the track and he says, honest to goodness

this is a grizzly bear, let's see we can do to get it.

It takes them several days of hard work

but they are successful in killing the grizzly, which Jim Duncan

then sells to Thomas Hill, the Yosemite painter, who displays the hide on the

walls of his studio in Wawona.

Eventually the grizzly pelt is given to the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology

in Berkeley and that's where it is today.

it's one of the very few remnants of the last of the Californian Grizzlies.

SUSAN: I believe we are less when we don't have grizzlies and wolves and mountain lions

these all make up the world that we're a part of and so we have to be aware of

the animals and plants that are left to us, to realize how quickly they can be gone.

BEN: Yeah, it would be nice to see the California grizzly back,

but I think we've reached a point of no return for some of those animal species and we just

have to learn from our mistakes and prevent it from happening to other animals.

PETE: Perhaps we shouldn't take over every wild place and every wild thing.

That we should make space for wild animals, for plants that are rare,

for landscapes that are rare. That should be important to us.

Norwegian Spitfire Foundation | Spitfire RAB RR232 Gullknapp 2017 - Duration: 9:45.

Now, at this moment, one of them...

...the first one goes down...

...on the runway... NOW it landed on Norwegian soil!

The first Spitfire drives now towards me!

They are just a couple meters away!

The Pilot sits upright in the cockpit...

...and smiled, his eyes were shining like no other.

A joy of reunion, when he felt the Norwegian soil under the tires.

Oh, he is smiling and waving to me as I am standing here with the micrphone!

They are all coming in a row!

One after the other!

The Norwegian flag is on everyone's tail...and in front...

Now our Spitfires are soaring over the aerodrome.

You must have dreamt and thought and contemplated about this hour...

...many times?

Yes....it is what we have always looked forward to...

And now when we are finally here...

It is so unreal, you almost don't believe it, that it is true at all.

The Crown Prince are now walking over...

...and greeting the pilots.

Every single one, he walks to and greets.

They are stout and stately boys...

and they look so Norwegian!

As if they had never left Gardemoen.

And yet all of them are coming from every corner of the world.

Man after man, the Crown Prince greets.

He is expressing his joy by greeting the pilots.

"A long road you have taken to come here."

"In many different countries have I had the pleasure to greet you."

There hums a couple aircraft over the aerodrome, so I can no longer hear what the Crown Prince is saying.

Crown Prince Olav V:

Let us now...

Acknowledge the old wish...

"God save the King, and the fatherland!"

"Yes!"

"Never have I seen Norway more beautiful than today."

This said the pilots one after the other to me...

...once they came down on the ground.

...but in relation to the famous instinct...

...then believe me...

...these Norwegian boys, which have been out there year after year in battle...

...have felt the longing for the country...

...stronger than any other living being.

The country they fought for and sacrificed themselves for.

Every flag today we saw...

...across the land...

...over Norway...

Was a welcome greeting to them.

An innermost thanks for the courage and skill....

...and the will to sacrifice...

...they perhaps more than anyone have shown.

And so we turn our car around.

And drive back to London.

Which the pilots call Oslo still...

...they have sort of been unable to wear that off yet.

And I hate that I want you

here you are

And I hate that I want you

And I hate that I want you

And I hate that I want you

And here you are, here you are

And you know that I want to

And I hate that I want you

But here you are, here you are Again

To finally be strong

Been waiting for so long

But I'm giving in

I know I'm being used

But we're lighting a fuse

Dark in the room

And I hate that I want you

And I hate that I want

Again

Again

Again

Again

Again

Again

Again

And here you are, here you are Again

And you know that I want to

And I hate that I want you

And here you are, here you are Again

To finally be strong

Been waiting for so long

But I'm giving in

I thought I was done

When you need love

You always show up

Studio Vlog 001 // Lighting & Studio Preparation - Duration: 9:12.

Hey guys, it's Emma from Aeobhel here. Today's Monday and I've got three main

goals to achieve. First of all I'm gonna try and build a set over the back half

of my room, that's gonna have a number of different functions. One, hopefully it'll

look nice so you know, when I'm doing videos like this where I don't want such

a chaotic background I can have something a little bit more neutral for

you guys to look at. My second goal is I want to go to Bunnings (warehouse) and pick up some

colour swatches (like, the paint samples) and that's because as you can see here

As you can see here I started painting (obviously) these two paintings are gonna

be a part of a ten-piece series, it's gonna have a body horror theme

I'll talk to you more about it later on it's quite exciting I'm really I'm

really hyped. But my problem is: whenever I start painting I always like I have an

idea and straight away I want to get out my oil paints and put it onto a canvas...

without a sketch, without a watercolor or acrylic mock-up! I tend to kind of jump

the gun a little bit as you can see here... so I'm really

excited for the idea, but I'm not happy with the composition, and my theory is if

I'm gonna turn this into a 10 piece series and add it to my portfolio, I want

it to be a little bit more cohesive than just random colors depending on how I

feel that day. So yeah I'm gonna I'm gonna go to Bunnings get my colour

swatches and kind of think up a sort of nice cohesive color palette and a vision

for it come home, and after I've obviously set everything up gonna start

sketching and kind of make my ideas a little bit more concrete and polished. My

last job for the day is to go buy another source of lighting. I'm not gonna

go crazy and get like a big light box or you know like the professionals do I

don't have that sort of time or money to be splashing

around. But what I'm gonna do is get just another lamp hopefully with a nice

natural daylight bulb. At the moment I've got my obviously ceiling light which is

very yellow it's it's very dull especially in the afternoon. My other

source obviously I've got the big window here - which is alright the only thing

with the window is I can only really paint by the window in the morning

because as soon as you know three o'clock comes around you know two

o'clock, three o'clock, the Sun is on the other side of the house and that just

means it's completely dark, I only get shadows and it's it's just not enough to

light up my work especially if I'm trying to film it.

Hey guys so as you can see this is my new lamp I really like it! One thing I'm

not of fan of, is how easily it swivels at the base... but it's actually like

really nice and heavy and I don't think that's going to be a problem in the long

term. Yeah, this was like 25 bucks from Bunnings! So like you really can't do

better than that! I was looking at other LED lamps, and there were all in the $70

price range and that was just a little bit much for me, especially like if you

can get one that's 25 bucks... then obviously go for it! The good thing about this one as

well is that the bulb is sold separately so if you want like a warm light, because

you know "ambience" or whatever you can I wanted a day light lamp because

obviously when I'm painting I want the colors to be accurate from what I'm

seeing so I got a little screw-in light bulb like this yeah it's "cool daylight".

It doesn't have the color temperature written on it, but the ones like every

round it was saying roughly 6500 Kelvin. Which, if you're into lighting and

especially for a studio, you want to be aiming for that like 5000 Kelvin sweet

spot. But they only really had really warm light and cool light this was the

closest to neutral but I could find so yeah! I'm really happy with that. Just for a

little look I'll put that one on for you, and yeah I'll compare

it to my old (one) this is an LED lamp but yeah together I think they're gonna work

really really nicely this one's a little bit warmer and again that one's a little

cooler but to be honest I think they're pretty perfect for what I'm gonna be

doing. So put that away! But yeah so what I'm gonna be doing next is I'm gonna

start building this set. I haven't really thought it through to like as much as I

think I should have. I am foreseeing a couple of problems, but I'll film the

whole thing and we'll see how it turns out! The sun's gone down! There you go - so yeah

a couple of hours have passed since I last saw you guys. What I've been doing

is I just filmed like a channel introduction video -

the idea being kind of explaining the changes from my old sort of style of

paintings to what you're seeing now and yeah I think I'm gonna call it a night

I'll probably keep going with this over the next few days as you'll see yeah I'm

definitely happy with the direction that I'm taking these paintings I think I

just needed to cement the idea a bit more and yes that's definitely shaping

up. Alright I'll see you guys tomorrow bye :)

Alright so yesterday was a real shit show in terms of productivity. I'll insert

a couple of clips but like I kind of got this set up I mean it serves a function

it covers my wardrobe, but I'm not too happy with it. It was a very very

dangerous task for me so I kind of don't want to relive it for a while, maybe in a

couple of weeks I'll reattempt setting this up I think there has to be

an easier solution, this this was just a nightmare! (as dumb as it sounds).

But yeah this week I've got actually a lot of non Aeobhel tasks to do. I've got my

mum's birthday tomorrow so I need to finish her gift and I've got my friend's

birthday on Saturday that I need to prepare something for so this might be

like a nice chance for you guys to see some, you know, extra craft activities...

not necessarily, not necessarily like core

"fine art" or you know printmaking or anything. So yeah I'm gonna get started

with that today and yeah this time I'll put a little bit more effort into

actually showing you what I'm doing and how I'm doing it.

Alright guys! That's it for this week. I hope you enjoyed my first weekly vlog

I'm gonna test run a few different formulas and layouts over the coming

weeks just to see what sticks but remember the fastest way to get a video

that actually interests you is for you to tell me what you want in the comments

down below I would really love and appreciate that participation. Next week

I've got a trip to Coffs Harbour planned and I'm not entirely sure what its gonna

entail but I'm pretty sure it will involve good food, cool brand new sites,

and hopefully some art as well. So yeah I hope to see you then! Bye :)

Who cares?

Annabelle, you can't do this!

Annabelle, you can't do this!

Hi~

Today we're out with my mum, as you can see we're in Stonehenge right now

We rode the bus for 2 hours to get here, then 1 more hour to go to Bath

where we'll spend the afternoon

Behind me is my mum. Say hi Mum! (Hi, Mum!)

That's mummy YAT-TUS

Mummy YAT-TUS who's in London for 3 weeks, we're in week 1 now...?

Yep, week 1 (Day 3!) and day 3

I got her the Audiotour on purpose and she doesn't want to listen to it! It's in French ...

(I don't speak French, I'm not listening!)

You don't speak French?!

(They don't even have creole!)

Let's watch some stones

Let me get you the audiotour!

The audio commentary. Is it nice? (yeah)

(I'm not saying it in Creole but do you know what you are right now? )

You can say it, I'll translate it anyway (But what if you film it?)

Wait, listen to the audio! You don't want it?

We paid for that! (You're a...) A pain in the ass, that's what she means. I'll translate it later.

(Every time I try there's too much wind)

(Annabelle, you're filming!) Yep!

(How do you do it?) Just press it (Here?) Hum (Is that nice?)
