((SWAHILI)) I've noticed that many of the Somali people here can also speak Swahili.

((SWEDISH)) Since I started learning Swedish, my friends tried to write to me in both Norwegian and Danish

((SWEDISH)) It was very interesting because I could understand them

((SWEDISH)) But I believe that it will be more difficult to understand the spoken language, right?

We'll build airport rail before the America's Cup in 2021, Greens say

The Green Party says it will build a rail line between Aucklands CBD and the airport before the Americas Cup in 2021 if it is in Government.

Transport spokeswoman Julie Anne Genter said her party would make the $2. 3b rail line a project of national significance and would begin construction this year.

Under the National-led Governments timeline, construction on the rail line will begin in 30 years, with a bus corridor built along the route until then.

Bringing forward the deadline by 26 years would require unprecedented co-operation between the Government and the Auckland Council, Genter said. The party previously said it wanted light rail to be in place by 2025.

The location for the next Americas Cup has not yet been decided, but it is tipped to be in Auckland.

Earlier this week, Transport Minister Simon Bridges said it was possible that some infrastructure projects could be brought forward for 2021, when Auckland will be hosting the Apec political conference and possibly the Americas Cup.

But it was not feasible to have rail or a bus corridor in place between the airport and the CBD by 2021, he said. Just the legal and land issues take us out to 2019. And that doesnt leave us much time..

He said the Government would consider upgrading sections of the route before 2021. Route protection has already begun for a mass transit corridor between the airport and the city.

The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and Auckland Transport decided in March that a busway corridor would be a credible solution for the next 30 years. Over the medium to long term, there would be a staged transition to light rail.

Genter said the project could not wait 30 years. In that timeframe the number of passengers travelling to and from the airport will double and the number of people working near the airport will triple.

Once the project is completed, it will take 43 minutes to make the trip from the airport to Wyndham Quarter on Aucklands waterfront, via Dominion Rd and Queen St.

Hi my name is John Kirkegaard I'm a farming systems agronomist based at CSIRO

in Canberra and today we're going to be talking about nitrogen management in

dual purpose crops. So dual purpose crops as you probably know are crops that are

sown early and grazed during the winter then locked up and grown on to produce

grain. There's dual purpose wheat's, barley triticale, canola, all these crops can be

grazed early if the right variety is sown in the right place and of course

questions arise about how we're going to manage the nitrogen nutrition on those

crops. For the very early sown crops winter wheat's like Revenue or Wedgetail

because these crops have vernalization requirement they can be

sown in February or March and they'll remain completely vegetative producing a

leaf for forage right through until July early August when they're locked up. So

that enormous potential to produce biomass begs the question about how

to manage nitrogen in those crops. Another important issue in managing

nitrogen is that to higher nitrogen level in the vegetative biomass can cause

problems like nitrate poisoning in animals so we have to try and find a

balance between fertilizing the crop to a point where it can produce to its

potential but not putting animals in harm's way with too higher nitrogen

levels on the material their grazing. So in recent years we've been looking at the

factors that drive that early biomass production in dual purpose crops so

some of the things you can think about to improve the amount of forage for

grazing is sowing earlier to capture more growth, using a variety that's

vigorous, improving the density the plant density but turns out nitrogen is the key

factor. We've found in very early sown crops in March we need to have about 150

kilograms of nitrogen in the soil to support the growth of those crops to

optimize the biomass. Those crops can be growing and grazed right from March

through to February, they can have three months of grazing in that

time so they're producing an awful lot of leaf for grazing and we need quite a

significant amount of nitrogen to support that. We would recommend that you

make that nitrogen available if it's not already in the soil, when you soil test,

to top dress quite early so that the crop can grow and dilute that nitrogen

before the animals go on because as I said very high nitrogen concentrations

in a crop too close to grazing will put the animals at risk of nitrate poisoning.

So by no means should you fertilize a crop within two weeks of when you intend

to graze it because that nitrogen fertilizer will go into the crop and

it will be in very high concentrations when the animals are eating. So we've

shown that you need that nitrogen there to really give you the advantage of the

early sowing to drive high grazing potential whether it be wheat, canola

barley and around about a 100- 150 kgs of N seems to support the optimum

level of growth in those winter sown crops. Later sown crops into April where

you can still get some grazing they'll have a lower grazing potential and

therefore a lower nitrogen requirement so somewhere around 100 kilograms is

probably advisable. Now after you finish grazing the question is then do I need

to apply more nitrogen to allow that crop to recover. Quite a bit of the

nitrogen that's grazed by animals will be turned over and returned to those fields

as both manure and urine, now whilst that's still available in the soil it

does get tied up and may not become available immediately to that crop so we

recommend topdressing as you normally would an ungrazed crop in that winter

period post grazing to assist the crop to recover. So by close attention to this

nitrogen management you'll get the most out of these crops which have a very

high potential to produce biomass and then to recover to produce a high yield

and the return from that nitrogen covers that cost but obviously number one -soil

tests ,know where you stand if you soil test is low add some nitrogen

up to that 100- 150 kilos of N prior to grazing top dress post grazing according

to where the seasons heading and what you think the yield potential is, if it's

turning dry you may hold off a little, if it looks like your going to support of high yield

well by all means add the nitrogen. For wheat we recommend the crop needs to see

about 40 kilos of N for every tonne of yield you intend to remove and for

canola about 80 kilos of N for every tonne of yield you intend to remove, so if

you're talking about a four-tonne wheat crop that's 160 kilos

of N , a four tonne canola crop that will be 320 kilos of N. So when

you do your budget take that into account and depending on seasonal

conditions add the nitrogen accordingly

Leaving Town With "Just Straight White People", Gay Man Finds Community In City. - Duration: 4:12.

My name is Levi Wade.

I am from Harrison, Arkansas.

So the town I'm from, Harrison, Arkansas, there's an active KKK outside of the town.

And I remember specifically when I was younger one time, my father, who's kind of darker

complected, he's half-Filipino, we were in the parking lot of a Walmart and some strangers

yelled out the N-word at him.

It was that moment that I kind of I realized I wasn't living in a very diverse, colorful,

tolerant community, but that of one where there were virtually no minority representation,

no people of color, no gay people.

Just straight white people.

Because I had no other gay people to turn to, I was kind of seeking them out on Yahoo

chat rooms.

I remember specifically one night, I was talking to someone on one of these chat rooms and

I was telling them about how being where I'm from was really isolated and lonely and there

was no one like me to really turn to.

He specifically told me that it wouldn't always be like that and that I needed to kind of

follow wherever my gut was leading me to go where there were more people like me.

Fast forward to I'm in high school and all with my girlfriends and they're kind of crying

over their relationship woes and the dramas that entailed that, and I remember kind of

oddly feeling jealous because it was just something that I wasn't able to experience

and didn't know what was like.

I remember thinking back to the chat rooms and the people that I was talking to and telling

me that I needed to go somewhere where I could experience these things

Fast forward, I'm 18.

I meet an online friend that lived in Little Rock.

He introduces me to a guy that we start dating.

I graduate high school and my mom was kind of trying to convince me to stay behind in

Harrison and go to the community college there.

But because of this boy that I met, I was very adamant about leaving and not staying

behind in Harrison.

So I remember my friends taking me out after me and the guy that I had moved down to Little

Rock for had broken out and they were there kind of holding my hand, guiding me through

it, and making sure I was - drink - liquored up to get over everything.

And it was definitely kind of a full circle moment in that where I once was wondering

what that was like, I was now living it.

A support system, gay representation, gay visibility, gay nightlife to hang out.

A large group of people to rely on.

If you are an LGBT kid in rural America, you are not confined to where you are at.

If where you are at is not okay for you to be at, you can escape where you're at and

you can come out okay.

There are aspects of uncertainty to it, but if you are self-assured, and you know what

you want, you're gonna land where you should be.

And that's something that you should hold onto and kind of let guide you.
