Mariposa de Barrio | Capítulo 05 | Telemundo Novelas - Duration: 10:33.
CC: TELEMUNDO NETWORK
I came to see my daughter. She's sad.
Plus, I brought the princess a present.
Hurry, sweetie. We don't want to be late!
I didn't occur to me that you were lying.
I was ready to unload on that bastard.
The objective of this exercise was to gauge your reaction.
You were brave. You stood your ground.
But if you really want to see him, I can have that arranged...
- NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. No!
Hang up. That won't be necessary.
Why not?
He doesn't care about me. He hasn't even called.
He hasn't visited his daughter.
Would you have liked him to?
Yes, to be honest.
I don't really care anymore, but Chiquis must miss him.
Very good, Janney. Let's begin.
Begin what?
Therapy.
We're going to do things differently today.
We're going to swap places.
What would you ask me if I were Janney?
Why did you put up with him for so long?
What are you doing here?
I came to see my daughter, man.
I let her live with you,
but I still have a right to see her.
Right, sweetie?
Listen up, Trino.
You can't just come and go as you please,
especially not if my sister's here.
No problem.
If I bother you that much, I'll just take my daughter.
Problem solved.
Calm down. There's no need for that.
Pedro... please.
Get lost! You're trying my patience.
Pedro, let me talk to him.
I'll figure something out.
Wait for me in the car, son.
Alright, fine.
Bye, bro!
Look, Trino.
I'll let you stay here a bit with her.
I don't want you going around saying things that aren't true.
Mrs. Rosa... thank you for understanding.
I'm glad you understand.
Excuse me.
Don't let them out of your sight...
and once Juan gets here, keep an eye on him.
We don't want him grabbing his bat
and all of us being hauled to jail.
Don't worry, Rosa. I'll keep an eye on him.
Bye, sweetie!
Say bye to Grandma!
Bye, Mrs. Rosa.
Want to go to the park, sweetie?
What's your parents' relationship like?
Did you ever watch them fight?
No.
Well, I'd sometimes see my mom leave her room
with tears in her eyes.
I never asked her why she cried so much.
I never knew whether it was because we were poor
or because my dad would upset her.
My dad was her first love.
He was her first, and she ended up marrying him.
She's been with him since she was 15.
I admire her for making their marriage last for so long.
She didn't want to raise her children alone.
I wanted to be like her when I grew up.
I wanted to be a strong woman, a gangster,
like we say in the barrio.
She was an excellent role model.
Yes, and she's impacted my life greatly.
More than you can even imagine!
Why'd you put ideas into your brother's head?
Now he's over at the Rivera's!
Those people hate him, Celina. Have you gone mad?
Trino's Chiquis' father.
He may have left Janney,
but he can't abandon his daughter.
She's old enough to know what's good for her.
You're practically pushing him into that woman's arms!
Don't you care about your brother's happiness?
Of course I care, Mom...
but all the same, he needs to man up and take responsibility.
Do you want people thinking my brother's a deadbeat?
I don't care what people think.
The sooner I get the Riveras off my back, the better.
Listen, Mom.
If Trino ends up looking like some irresponsible jerk,
they'll think he's the reason Janney tried to kill herself.
What if they sue him?
I bet you hadn't thought of that.
No.
I can't blame my mom for what happened.
She's an amazing human being.
I know that, Janney.
This isn't about laying blame,
but finding the root of the problem.
When did your relationship with Trino go downhill?
Why did it fail?
The moment I moved out of my house.
That's when I realized how much my family was suffering.
Don't feel bad about what happened.
It's in the past.
Life's hard knocks turn us into better people.
We learn to make wiser decisions.
It's rough... but perhaps you're right.
What happened when your father found out?
My mom told him that very night.
She told me about it later on.
Pedro, where are you going?
Where else? I'm going to get Janney.
Please don't go.
Why not, Rosa? I'm going to talk to her.
I'm going to tell her not to leave yet.
She's still too young.
Her life's just beginning.
If she wants to marry Trino later on, fine,
but she doesn't need to now.
She'll come back, you'll see.
Janney's pregnant, Pedro.
What?
She told me herself.
There's nothing we can do about it.
I'm the one who told her to leave.
I knew you were going to get upset.
I was afraid of how you'd react.
Rosa, please.
I obviously wasn't going to like it,
but for the love of God, Rosa!
Janney's my daughter!
She's pregnant with my grandchild.
At the end of the day, I still would've supported her.
You don't know me, do you?
I'm sorry!
Oh, honey...
My little girl.
You want her to live here?
I knocked her up, Mom. What do you want me to do?
So this is the gringa you were dating?
My parents are Mexican. I was born here.
That makes you a gringa.
You know these girls aren't like the ones back home.
What were you thinking, Trino?
Besides, just look at her! She's a child!
Enough, Mom!
If we can't stay, then we're headed elsewhere!
Wait, Trino! Don't go!
This is your home, Trino.
This isn't a honeymoon destination.
Shut up, stupid!
We could set up a room for them...
at least until they find a better place.
How could you do this to me, Trino?
You'd better not be lazy.
You've gotta earn your keep here!
I hope you get the idea.

Most Important Things in Life - Duration: 2:23.
I'm Jared. This whole week we've been talking about time
and today we talk about, how do we determine what are the most important things in our life?
There's a pretty famous story that was made famous by a guy named Stephen Covey.
He's a time management guru but he tells the story of a professor who,
in her college class, puts a jar.
And she starts to put these big rocks in the jar.
And she asked the class, "Is the jar full?"
And the class, of course, is like, "Well, yeah."
But then she starts to put in smaller rocks and then asks again,
"Is the jar full?"
And they're kind of on to her, I think, at this point.
So they say,
"Yes?"
Well, then she adds sand
and she fills the jar up to the top.
And what's the point of that story?
You would think that Stephen Covey, a time management guru,
would say if you really are careful, you fit your whole,
you can pack your life full.
But that's not it.
The point is, if you start with sand,
and you start with just small stones,
you cannot fit the big things into the jar.
You've got to start with the big things to get them done.
So what are your big things?
What are your rocks that you would say are important?
My guess is yours are pretty similar to mine.
If you're watching a video like this,
you have a desire to grow in your relationship with God.
That's one of my rocks.
Grow in my relationship with my spouse or other person in your life.
Grow in my relationship with my kids, my friends.
I want to be healthy. I want to be financially stable.
These are things that matter to me.
My guess is if someone asked you, like, "What are your big rocks?"
and you literally had to write on a rock
and say, "This is what's most important to me,"
I don't think it would say check fantasy football scores.
You know, I don't think it would say like look up Lamar Odom and the Kardashians.
I don't think it would say burn the day on Facebook.
Could you imagine yourself writing that out?
That stuff's sand.
You know, sand's great.
You can make a castle but you don't build a house on sand.
You don't build a life on sand.
You don't build anything on sand.
You build it on a rock.
You build it on THE rock.
Take a minute now, I mean, I mean it.
Write down what are the most important things in your life
and decide, "Am I spending my life on rocks
or am I spending it on sand?"
Jesus gives you this encouragement.
He says, "Everyone who hears these words of mine
and puts them into practice
is like a wise man." [Matthew 7:24]
He's talking about his Word
is like a wise man who built his house on a rock.

Master English with 1 Simple Trick: English is NOT a hobby - Duration: 9:26.
Hi there, Vladimir here with another video on how to learn English
Did you know that there's just 1 simple trick to becoming a fluent English speaker?
Did you know that there is 1 thing you must change about your approach to English
in order to master the English language.
1 simple change in mindset.
Here it is.
English is not a hobby
English is not a hobby
Most people take up English with a mindset of being a hobby
It all starts in school, we learn maths chemistry, biology, history, English
English is just one of the subjects.
No, English is not just a subject anymore
English is much more than that.
We are human beings, you and I,
and as such we are a part of the animal kingdom
We are animals
what separates us from all other animals, what is the one single biggest difference
between us and the other animals
That's right, language
Language, what an amazing skill we have the ability to communicate
Any language, Chinese, French, Bulgarian English, Japanese
Without language we are nothing but animals, just eat and sleep, defecate and fornicate.
It is because of language that we can build high-speed trains, airplanes, space shuttles.
It is pretty obvious right?
what does all this have to do with English?
What all this has to do with English is that English is the only true global language.
Mind you, this wasn't the case 20 years ago
This happened fairly recently, this happened in the last 10 -15 years
since the advent of this thing called
the Internet and companies like Apple, Google, Facebook, Netflix, and the like
the computer and the Internet made English ubiquitous
If you haven't realized this simple fact it means you have the mindset of a hobbyist
and with that kind of mindset you will never master English
We are human beings, we are social animals, we talk, and
English is unquestionably the only true global language.
English is like no other skill.
Your English should be as good as your native language
almost as good, virtually the same
But communication is not the only reason.
There is one more reason why you should take English much more seriously
English gives you arguably the best quality information
why?
Because English is the language of science.
No question about that either I hope.
even if you don't need or want to communicate with people from other countries
you still need English to get good quality information
Let me show you what I mean.
Wikipedia, the 4th most visited website in the world
Google, Youtube, Facebook and Wikipedia
What is Wikipedia?
An online Encyclopedia
Wikipedia is information
This is a list of the different language editions of Wikipedia.
Unquestionably English is at the top with a little shy of 5.5 million articles
Let us look at Japanese, which is one of the top 5 languages on the Internet
a little over 1 million articles.
Over 5 times difference in quantity, that's a lot
but that's only half the picture
The other half is in the Depth column
The "Depth" column is a rough indicator of a Wikipedia's quality
showing how frequently its articles are updated
to update means to add the most recent information,
basically means better quality.
On average, each English article is updated about 1000 times,
how many times do you recon for each Japanese article
Less than 80 times.
That's more than a 10-time difference in quality.
10 times, for Japanese, one of the most common languages on the internet.
My native Bulgarian a mere 25 times,
25 vs 1000
Hope that answers the question why I learned English.
Imagine you are eating a steak, and it is a good steak, but then I tell you, try this one
this one is 10 times better, more delicious, more nutritious than this one, 10 times.
And keep in mind that this is an okay steak.
Japan is a big country with a very large population.
There is a lot of translation going on in Japan.
Japanese people can still get access to relatively good quality information in Japanese,
but it is no match for this bad boy here.
10 times better.
Information about your health, about your food about your hobby and of course about business
Just google "lower back pain" in English and in your native language and see the difference
in the way information is displayed and organized on the screen
Huge difference
It is not just about communication, it is also about good quality information.
English is not a hobby, not anymore, not for the last 10 years
Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that the Americans and the Brits are smarter and more
intelligent than the rest of us,
no, not at all,
all I'm saying is that French, German, Japanese, Chinese researchers and scientists need to
publish in English because English is the language of science.
I don't care about English,
All I care about is communicating with as many people as I possibly can and
learning good quality information.
If Chinese could give me that I would have learned Chinese or French or Spanish
I don't care.
English turned out the lingua franca of our time, not Bulgarian, so I learned English.
That's why I am critical of overly simplistic methods about fluent in 3 months,
language hacks, 4-12 sentences, mistakes are OK, and all that jazz.
Those methods are for hobbyists.
English is not a hobby
This is the 1 simple thing you must change about your approach to English.
English is not a hobby.
The second thing you need to realize is that native speakers are not the best teachers.
And the third thing you need to do is to stop watching useless youtube videos of
native speakers telling you how to learn English but instead read books and
I suggest you start with my book Virtually Native
A book giving you a working method for learning English
Here is the non-native proof standing right in front of you
Virtually native is available on Amazon and virtuallynative.com

Korean economic recovery slowing down despite export growth - Duration: 1:46.
A report by a state-run think tank shows the Korean economy is on the path to recovery
through improved exports of semiconductors, and investment in machinery... but the recovery
is showing signs of slowing down.
Kim Ji-yeon tells us why.
Although the engine for growth for Asia's fourth largest economy has improved in recent
months... it may not be enough to maintain the recovery's momentum.
That's according to a report released by the Korea Development Institute on Thursday that
shows there are several other factors causing the slowdown
in the economic recovery.
This includes a fall in the rate of increase for outputs in the first half of 2017 compared
to the end of the previous year, with shipments in the mining and manufacturing sectors being
sluggish since March this year.
The slowdown is also partly due to low levels of private consumption... signaling that the
country's export based growth... is somewhat limited, unable to boost domestic consumption.
There was just a 1-point-six percent increase in retail sales in May... a near one-percentage-point
drop from the previous month.
Employment figures are not so encouraging either... as the number of people newly employed
in the services sector dropped on-month... from 424-thousand employees in April to 375-thousand
in May.
The report says the poor consumption and employment figures are mainly due to a slowing increase
in production in the services sector... which fell by zero-point-4-percentage-points from
the previous month to 2-point-1-percent in May.
In particular, Industries engaged in food and lodging fell by more than 3-percent since
they started to spiral down from the second half of last year.

THE JAMES WEBB TELESCOPE AND GALAXY EVOLUTION EXPLAINED - Duration: 3:20.
the deeper we look into space the farther back we see in time light
travels 670 million miles an hour but even at this speed light from even the
closest big galaxies takes millions of years to reach us looking deep is
looking back back to when the universe was younger right now our best tool for
viewing the young universe is the Hubble Space Telescope this is Hubble's deepest
view into space known as the Hubble Ultra Deep Field here astronomers have
found galaxies so far away that their light began its journey to us more than
13 billion years ago we're seeing these galaxies as they were when the universe
was just six hundred million years old in human terms this discovery is
comparable to a teenager looking at a six-month-old baby
but for these galaxies the universe was no nursery it was more like a brutal
football game the earliest galaxies were small Dwarfs smaller even than the ones
Hubble has seen they grew by colliding and merging with other small galaxies as
shown in this simulation over billions of years these mergers built up the
giant galaxies we see today mergers triggered pulses of star formation that
created the elements necessary for planets and ultimately life but to see
beyond Hubble to witness the origin and development of galaxies astronomers need
a new to this is Hubble's successor the James
Webb Space Telescope which is now being built it's mirror 2.7 five times the
size of Hubble's and instruments are optimized for a part of the spectrum
where the most distant galaxies shine the infrared Hubble sees infant galaxies
the James Webb Space Telescope will see newborns
got the flag up now
at 100

Jeff Bridges Is "Rooting" For President Trump As "A Human Being" - Duration: 2:54.
Actor Jeff Bridges wasn't on President Trump's side during the elections, and he doesn't
support his policies about federal food assistance programs, but in a recent interview he stated
that he is "rooting" for President Trump as "a human being."
In the interview Bridges didn't judge other people who strongly supported Trump's election,
but he also didn't want to oppose them.
"Everybody has something different and unique to contribute to society and with different
ways of doing it," Bridges stated.
"Some people will be blatantly out there talking about their disappointments and ridiculing
the way President Trump is acting."
The actor has another viewpoint.
"I'm rooting for him to do well by our country," Bridges stated.
"I'm rooting for him as a human being to do the cool thing."
According to Bridges, this statement means that President Trump's policies will guarantee
that childhood hunger wouldn't be impaired.
"The health of our children is a wonderful compass that can tell us if our country is
going the right direction," he stated.
"That means we're off course, so I'm rooting for the president to get on course."
Even though he supported Hillary Clinton during the elections, Bridges has a positive attitude
towards the President.
In a November interview, he stated: "I'm rooting for the guy, Mr. Trump."
"One of the things that are most appealing about him is his unpredictability.
A less kind word might be his hypocrisy, but unpredictability and hypocrisy are things
that each of us human being share.
It's something we all struggle with and work with."
"I'm rooting for the guy, but we'll see how it all goes.
You just don't know how it will all work out," he continued.
Soon after the President's inauguration triggered the massive national protests, Bridges
called everyone to calm down and come to their senses.
"We point fingers at people, we point fingers at Trump, he points fingers at people.
How are we going to come together and realize that we're on this little dust speck in
space, you know?"
Bridges stated.
"Things are finite here, you know.
How are we going to work together to make the most beautiful existence that we can,
you know?" he stated.
In his opinion, the people can close gaps if they are united and work together.
"Just be with these people who feel opposite than you, and just kind of be with this uncomfortable
feeling, like, what are we going to do?
If you spend enough time in that situation, not knowing yourself, not having such a strong
opinion that you can't hear anybody else, some kind of loving action will come out of
that," he stated.
Please share this post on Facebook if you support Bridges opinion.
