An American's Favorite German Names!! - Duration: 6:57.
German names! I like a lot of them and I also have some favorites.
Hey everyone. I'm Dana and you're watching Wanted Adventure Living Abroad.
There are so many beautiful German names out there.
It was really hard for me to narrow it down to my top current favorite ones.
And I realized that it was also kind of hard to figure out if these names are actually
considered German.
I mean, names -- a lot of names -- have been around for a while and most of them originated
from somewhere else and then evolved over time.
So please let me know down in the comments if you consider these names German or if you think
of them being related to somewhere else first and foremost.
And let's start with the girls names.
Interestingly, when putting this little list together I noticed that several of the names
that I like start with the same letter.
So first of all there are a couple names that start with the letter L. Lieselotte, for one.
Wow, when I heard this name for the first time -- Lieselotte -- I instantly liked it.
There's just something about the name that makes me smile.
It sounds so bright and happy.
It reminds me of walking through the park on a warm, sunny spring day.
And it's also a name that is quite different from anything that I had ever heard before.
Then I found out that the name Liesel and the name Lotte exist as well, and I immediately
liked both of those like those too.
Liesel is a short form of the name Elisabeth and Lotte can be short for either Lieselotte
or Charlotte.
And again, like the longer Lieselotte, there's just something about the names Liesel and
Lotte that make me smile and make me think of spring.
And another name beginning with L that I really like is Leonie.
This name looks beautiful to my eyes and sounds just very melodious to my ears. Leonie
But now moving away from L names, there are also two names on this list that start with
an A: Anika and Anke.
As well as a third name that doesn't start with an A but it does have a kind of similar
soft vowel at the beginning, and that is the name Elke.
These three names somehow feel both gentle and strong at the same time to me.
I know it's a bit of a contradiction and I actually have no idea if that makes any
sense at all to anyone else.
I mean, how can a name "sound gentle" anyway?
I don't really know, but to me these three names do.
Maybe it's something about the fact that they all start with a kind of softer vowel
at the beginning but then they have that K in the middle, which has a bit of a harder,
more crisp ring to it.
I'm not really sure but I just, I really like how they sound and how they look as well.
And lastly for the girls names, I really like the name Verena.
To me this name just has such a beautiful ring to it.
It reminds me of a clear night sky where I can look up and see all the stars. Verena.
I just...it sounds really beautiful to me.
And now onto the boys names.
And I know, I might be a little bit biased with this first one, but I really like the name Stefan.
And no, I'm not only saying that because my husband's name is Stefan.
I really do honestly like how this name looks and sounds.
But okay, yeah, like I said, I might be a little bit biased with this one.
Then we have two names starting with an F: Felix and Florian.
Again I have no idea if this makes sense to other people, but for some reason the name
Felix reminds me of a beautiful fall day when all of the trees are bright orange and red,
and there's that buzz of fall excitement in the air.
Contrasted with the name Florian, which feels once again to me like spring.
The name Florian makes me think of sitting on a blanket under a tree on a just pleasantly
warm day with colorful spring flowers all around.
There's no ants on the blanket. Okay?
It's a nice spring day but there's no ants.
I mean there are ants. Like the ecosystem didn't fall apart. But there's just no ants on my blanket. Okay.
Now two names that begin with a T: Thorsten and Torben.
And I just really like how these names sound. Thorsten, Torben.
I can't really describe what exactly it is that I like about them.
But these names seem like bold names to me.
Sometimes you don't know why you like something, you just like it.
I just like how they look and how they sound.
And lastly, I really like the name Maximilian.
I like how it looks with that X in the middle.
And I also really like how it sounds. It's a bit of a longer name.
And there's something about it that reminds me of a stream curving through a forest on
a warm summer's day.
I know that's very specific.
But there's just something about Maximilian that makes me think of that.

what's up everyone I'm Melissa Elise and you're watching Melissa Elise TV you're
channel for TV episode and book reviews in this video I'll be reviewing a gripping
side blinding suspense called tangled by James W Lewis so let's get to it
the book is a mystery a psychological suspense you just don't see coming
set around the Monte Clara class of 2005 high school 10-year reunion and told
through the eyes of four main characters but this story is the high school
reunion you kind of wish you were at but not because you'd be the one calling
9-1-1 at least I would be so the four main characters are Yara Bassili Gerald and
Quinton Durston and Gerald's wife Lisa but the real mystery of this novel is
who the Blue Devil is this person dressed as the school mascot releases
several videos leading up to the reunion in which he or she takes several
hilarious shots at their classmates with old photos from the yearbook but while
everyone is wondering who the Blue Devil is a murder plot hatches conveniently
scheduled to take place the night of the reunion there's also two side stories
with Yara at the center of one and Gerald the other neither of them are at
a great place in their lives and they kind of end up meeting in the middle and
helping each other figure out the next step which you definitely don't see
coming the book starts with Yara's story and
right away the author James has you wondering what is going on I don't want
to give too much away but the police come in chapter one so you know things
can only get more interesting from there with the way the book is structured with
each chapter narrated by one of the four main characters Yara Gerald Quinton or
Lisa they each give glimpses at what's going on and there are slight hints
plot twist but the end result is one of those where you just have to put the
book down I got to the reveal and just was really honestly shocked like I did
not see it coming you know when you think you have the story figure it out
and then that bombshell drops and you're like what that's what this book is I
have to say I'm not usually one to read book set in modern day events I usually
go for fantasy it's out of this world or if it is set in real life it's usually a
historical fiction or just history book because I really love history
but I'm so glad that I read this book and it's not so far off from history
because this story touches on real-life events I had thought that Jamie was
purely a fiction writer but then I found out through correspondence with him that
he included some of the real-life headlines that this book is inspired by
in the back of the book and I cannot believe that something like this could
actually happen let alone the number of stories that he was able to find but he
did a wonderful job creating a storyline in which something like this can happen
and you care for at least three of the characters it's not a situation I think
most people find themselves in but you know these characters you can see where
they live and you feel the day-to-day stresses of their lives and at the
center of this story really is a struggling relationship between brothers
and I love a good bromance it's heartwarming to see them come together
in the end - Gerald has the clearest character arc to me in this book he
starts out as kind of this pathetic guy he's a little overweight he loses out on
this job promotion for a position he was already doing - a guy from his high
school class that he can't stand and then you meet his wife Lisa and you
really feel for the guy but the man he becomes in the
is confident and funny he starts working out again and he remembers the guy he
always meant to be Quintin Gerald's twin has the other interesting character art
he goes from being this player dog type to really being a puppy dog and a dad I
do like him but kind of reluctantly he makes a pretty big mistake but you know
he feels bad for it and the way he is with ania his high school sweetheart
makes you like him and Jarrell could not be more different despite the fact that
they're twins Quinton is a photographer who makes his own schedule he does what
he wants when he wants while Gerald is a husband with a nine-to-five job that he
hates and a wife who seems to hate him but I think Gerald's my favorite
character because once you get to the end of the book you're just so happy for
him and proud of him after reading this book I couldn't help but think about my
own high school reunion so I decided to wear my seniors shirt it's about two and
